Fantastic place

By Tracey A |

Popped in for a cuppa & a slice of cheesecake whilst on holiday from the UK. Our server Malik was the loveliest guy with great people skills. It was my husbands birthday & his cheesecake slice arrived with a candle in it, brilliant!

Not up to normal cheesecake standards

By Debbie J |

Cocktails were good, staff friendly and service ok, too dark, needed a torch so had to move, food very poor, starter was cold in places and chips soggy would not go back to this one. Have been to a few in different states and always been fab, had this been our first experience of a Cheesecake Factory we would not have gone to another

Overcharged

By Hayjus40 |

I have been to the Cheesecake Factory b4 for dinner in Dubai & Vegas & always been happy This visit we just wanted to pop in quick to try the cheesecake & coffee b4 going to catch our flight & we didn’t have much time We sat down & ordered 2 slices of cheesecake but was told we couldn’t have any hot drinks as the machine was broke It’s not until I got back to the uk that they have overcharged me by 10 dollars which I don’t understand as I wrote the tip & total amount clearly on the receipt I cannot see a complaint system or details for me to chase up Very disappointed & it puts me off visiting again H

The Cheesecake...

By Kawthar A |

''The Cheesecake Factory'' is one of the famous restaurants in the USA and it's known by its cheesecakes. So I'm writing this review to share with you my own personal experience. Me and my family went for lunch. Once arrived, we waited for more than 30 min to get a table. The decoration of the restaurant was very sympathetic, cozy and comfortable. The menu was incredible there was a lot of choices. The command was taken immediately after we made our meal choice, we were served 20 min later. Actually the food was quit delicious with good portions except the pizza which was much smaller than what we expected. The soda was served in very big cups, with extra refill for free, which was unique in the USA. The top of it was the delicious cheesecakes, among a lot of choices in the dessert menu, we picked two types of flavours : vanilla and Hershey's chocolate. It was really tasty. Over all, service was irreproachable, food was good and cheesecakes were excellent. So I recommend it, especially for cheesecake.

Misleading name

By Paul K |

Being from the other side of the planet the name doesn’t describe the diversity of this menu. The food was plentiful and extremely tasty and great value so don’t hesitate to head to this restaurant for a casual dining experience👍

Not the best experience

By eileensmith639 |

Party of 8 restaurant wasn’t too busy which was good still eating our starters when out come the mains which were squeezed into the table even left on the table next to us. When asked what was going on All we got was oh I can’t take them back if you want. We were given the bill before being asked if we wanted dessert 🤷🏼‍♀️ all in all not the best experience

Great food and service

By Mulhimaam |

This Cheesecake Factory is on Michigan Avenue, near the water tower, very nice place and the food is delicious and amazing generous portions that should be shared. As usual it is always busy and sometimes there is a waiting time but it worth it. Staff at the the restaurant was friendly, polite and very attentive. We Had the New York steak, Lasania, chicken pasta, mixed green salad, clam chowder soup and Hersheys chocolate cheesecake. Highly recommended if your are in town.

Good food but very busy

By Sara-Jane W |

You need to book. We did book and they struggled to find our booking but it was heaving, when we arrived, with groups of people waiting to be seated. The waiters/waitresses were rushed off their feet. Extensive menu to choose from not just Cheesecake. Food was good but filling so by the time you've had a meal there's little space for cheesecake

Great staff and good food and cheesecake!!

By MPP2703 |

We visited twice, once to eat in and once for a takeaway. Amber was our server and she was brilliant. I had a Goose Island to start $9, and my only gripe, my wife had what was termed a glass and a half of Kim Crawford SB, $17.50!! Most expensive wine we purchased in Chicago. We only had nibbles, pepperoni flatbread $11.95, massive side of fries $5.95. And of course this was followed by a white chocolate raspberry truffle cheesecake to share, Yum. For the take out I got Salted caramel apple, gotgeous. Highly recommended.

Rude ignorant arrogant staff

By rhino4525 |

Just called in here to get a takeaway cheesecake and stood by the serving counter for 15 minutes without any acknowledgment from the three servers behind the counter of my very existence in front of them. Just a simple " be with you in a minute" would suffice but no..... very rude. Left after 15 minutes of being ignored .

Great food, poor service

By susan2909 |

As usual for CF, the food was great. You know what you're getting in CF. Epic portions of fabulous food. Unfortunately, the service was not the same, poor by US standards. Had to adk for drinks menu, ask to order, long wait etc etc.

Worst service ever!

By amandadavies43 |

I have enjoyed visiting The Cheesecake Factory all over the States for many years and although they are a chain restaurant I have always found them to be a reliable choice with plenty of choices, generous portions and well-kept premises. This visit was extremely disappointing and I would think twice before visiting a branch again. My daughter and I opted to sit on the patio to save a long wait but that was a bad idea as it was cold, noisy, scruffy and poorly lit. We could hardly read the menu. Our waiter was off-hand and brusque taking our order but eventually we got our drinks. We were not offered bread but it eventually appeared about 30 seconds before our entrees. What about our appetisers? They arrived 2 minutes after our entrees so we sent them back. I had ordered fried shrimp which was served with fries. It was cold and the shrimp was tough and tasteless. I ate about half of it as I was hungry and it was getting late. On reflection I should have sent it all back. I have always looked forward to visiting the Cheesecake Factory and it is sad to think I will probably not visit again.

Delicious food and service!

By K848 |

Loved our visit here. It was handy being underneath the Hancock Building as we were visiting that straight after. I had a chicken burger which was delicious and served with plenty of fries and a side salad. Our server was super friendly and was helpful recommending dishes as the menu is like a book! We were so full after our meals so took our cheescakes back for a snack later on as it would have been criminal not to have tried one of them!! They were delicous!!

Never Disappointed

By Cyndi559 |

Excellent lunch selection and the cheesecake is always over the top. Wait staff always attentive and ready to help with anything you might need. Eat here every time I'm in Chicago...always will.

Good food, poor service.

By Charlie |

Food was great, decor quirky as usual. Pretty good experience overall however.... One member of staff was seen scolding another, for putting somone else's food down on our table. Being in view of customers, this was uncomfortable to watch. They went on to tell the other table what had happened, mentioning our party having 'touched' their food (untrue) so they couldn't have it. Hearing this only two tables away - awkward. Our server was good though :)

You won’t leave hungry; huge portions

By nickss1 |

I popped in for early evening meal while staying close by. I was considering pasta followed by cheesecake. Despite it being beginning of October, the weather was still allowing outdoor seating options, but I elected to get a table indoors. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I went for spaghetti and meals as mains with a Corona to drink. The portion was huge. It was extremely tasty, but filled me up so much I simply couldn’t manage a cheesecake dessert; the options are endless (well, at least, two pages of the menu). I’ll have to come back for a cheesecake! I was impressed, and would definitely recommend

Slowww service, bad quality

By Yaripilot |

What to say...? Very slow service, overpriced and really bad quality for what it costs. It might be good for a piece of cake but definitely not for dinner... We waited almost one hour just to eat and about 20 min to pay the bill. Definitely not coming back.

enjoyed the experience and lunch specials

By Jessie |

The restaurants wasn't that busy when we came on a Tuesday afternoon. The server was really funny and very attentive. They were still serving lunch specials so we went for that. The price wasn't that bad but the serving was smaller. I just wish they can expand their lunch menu, there are more things I want to try but not on a full serving.

Yum!

By Jil R |

We drove downtown to celebrate several June birthdays. Dinner was great, there was not a long wait and they were able to accommodate out party. I was so full from dinner that I didn’t order any cheesecake dessert to-go. After I got home I regretted that decision. 🙃

Consistently good

By armagh222 |

I always visit the Cheesecake factory when in the US and Chicago never disappoints. The restaurant is always busy but both service and quality of food is always great. My shepherd's pie was lovely, as was my wife's chicken dish . If you fancy good honest food then I highly recommend.

Cheesy experience at Cheesecake.

By peabodymac |

Made a reservation which is apparently only reserved for their Loyalty Program members - a program that offers very few perks as no points are collected. Website indicated my desired time for 6pm was unavailable so had to take a 6:30 slot. Requested a Booth. Got to restaurant at 6:10pm and surprised to see dozens of open tables throughout the restaurant. Host took us to a half-booth 2-top?! Requested they give us a large booth - was then shown another 2-top full booth. Again requested a large booth since at least 10 empty ones were visible and so finally got seated where we wanted ( makes you wonder why bother with a reservation & not a good way to treat their members). Ordered drinks and meal. Pls note NO Bread is given unless you specifically Ask for it! Orders a chicken dish - 3 small pieces of fat all around them and tough as nails - could have bounced them off the floor. Had to ask for steak knife to cut them. Tasty but sooo tough. Mentioned this to wait staff who didn’t seem to care, despite knowing my earlier request for a steak knife due to toughness… Not going back anytime soon…

Slow

By Dawn M |

Food was good. Server was nice but spread too thin. Took a long time to get our food and check. Too loud, turn down the music!

Good food in fantasy surroundings

By Kao2015 |

Visiting Chicago & this outlet for the 1st time we were welcomed by the Host presented to our seats within 10 minutes & our order was taken by an attentive server, food was lovely fish & chips & brick chicken with a side of mac n cheese took time to come & we were given bread & butter to satisfy our appetite we thoroughly enjoyed the food & made room for Hazelnut cheesecake it was amazing with a nutty Nutella sauce a chocolate lovers dream one between us we still couldn’t finish it ...... & the plates were taken away by a courteous server who asked if we enjoyed ..we responded ... it was a knockout 👌

Large Menu and quick service

By Paul DuBois |

Visited on a quiet evening and didn’t have to wait too long for a table. Also we had expedited seating as we were staying in a local hotel. The vibe here is a bit odd. The decor is meant to be Parisian Art Deco but it is dark and looks like it was made by the Smurfs. Large copper coloured pillars look like they have been given steroid injections which gives the restaurant the look of Disneyland rather than elegance. The large menu can be a bit overwhelming although the wait staff were friendly and available to help guide our table through the selections. We started with cocktails and moved onto sharing the generous portions of food. And of course finished off our feast with a cheesecake. It’s a good place to go if you want a fairly reasonable family and/or group meal. But it isn’t cheap. If you have to wait in line for a table during their busy periods, you might want to try somewhere else. The food was okay but I wouldn’t wait around to experience it. Especially while being in Chicago, which has plenty of great dining alternatives.

Awesome food and great service!

By Taylor E |

Food was fantastic and service was great! Their mushroom Swiss burger and buffalo fried chicken sandwich were awesome. Our server Yami went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great. Loved the ambiance too, definitely a experience. Will come back for sure.

Good food, friendly service

By Skwiki |

Exactly what I expect from this chain. Tasty, reasonably priced food with good, friendly service. All four of us enjoyed our lunches. We sat beside the window on a day with terrific weather. A very nice, relaxing break from our busy day of touring downtown

Bad service Definitely not std

By Senior777 |

Bad service Definitely not like other branches you feel like you’re not welcome And they do service without smiling at the guests or maybe it was our staff .. Food was alright When you don’t show a specific sauce that are using If you don’t consume alcohol

Terrible Experience

By Rose Nicholas |

I visited The Cheesecake Factory last night and ordered a takeaway Salad. I was advised the wait time would be around 25 minutes. After 45 minutes of waiting I enquired why it was taking so long and the response I receive was because they were waiting for fresh bread. I waited a further 15 minutes to receive my order to find there was no bread in the bag!!!! I asked why did I have to wait longer to not receive the bread and the response I received was that I would have to wait a further 30 minutes (totalling to a 1hr and 30 minutes), and I didn’t even get an apology. Absolutely terrible communication with your customers, and it is appalling that I had to wait over an hour for salad and Diet Coke that cost $18.34. I am a regular visitor to The Cheesecake Factory but I won’t be going again until this issue is addressed.

We love this place

By Cakesx2 |

It’s fun, great value, amazing menu, skinny options, fast service and the food is so tasty. Wish it was in Australia! Excellent choice for a meal.

Good food but busy.

By Jennifer M |

The food was good. I had the grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The brocolli stalks were massive. Fried Calamari as an appetizer. The place was packed for dinner, which affected the speed of service unfortunately.

I love all Cheescake Factories!! So I am biased....

By AussieTribeTatura1 |

I love all Cheesecake Factories, always a wait, but they are an organised bunch and Ive never waited as long as they have suggested. I love the menu, have my favourites but I do try some new things too. Very rarely do I have poor wait staff, and this time was another great example, the lady was observant and had a laugh with us. I had one of my favourite pastas this time, it was a little drier than normal, but still very tasty and made a good meal. Always a great value for money meal, huge portions and fine quality. Love the breads and butter, and they are always happy to bring more if needed. Nice to grab a cheesecake on the way out and relax in front of the TV eating it like a piggy :D

Great food

By Tonia R |

My daughter and I ate dinner here and it was good food, not too pricey. Of course we had to get dessert... my daughter got Linda’s chocolate cake and she said it was amazing, but could only eat about 1/2 of it. I got the Lemon Meringue cheesecake and I thought it was equally amazing, but I did eat about 2/3’s of it. A definite must go to every time we visit!!

Pineapple upside down cheesecake

By CameroPACS |

My daughter wanted to come here during our Chicago trip, and I wasn’t sure what to expect from a chain restaurant when there were so many other options in the city- but I was pleasantly surprised. Everything we ordered was delicious and well prepared. We had the pineapple upside down cheesecake for dessert and we were so impressed we took two pieces with us. Service was very friendly, although it took a long time for the bar to make drinks. I knocked off a star because our table was awfully placed in the restaurant and because the bathrooms were out of order the entire time we were there.

Service was terrible, bad food and overcharged!

By cazzzie987 |

I always wanted to visit so I just arrived in Chicago tired and hungry and decided to go. Very busy, however our server couldn't have been more attentive to the other tables next to us giving them water. We didn't get offered water and she took ages to even serve us and everything just took ages, my first choice was out of stock which is bad as the menu isn't that good for veggies to start with. I wasn't impressed with my bland and overcooked alternative and my Mum asked for her burger to be cooked well done and it came out pink, she couldn't eat it and told the server this. I also saw a soda was added to my bill which i didn't order. I want a refund for this, my Mum's burger meal and the cheesecake we took back which was stale and not fresh(which it should be at this price). I have attached the receipt as proof. Really not happy with anything we experienced here.

Birthday

By llavertybent |

Soooo disappointed with the overall experience! We are from Europe and always include a trip to the Cheesecake Factory whenever we visit the USA! We had a birthday in the party which we informed them Prior to the visit! Service extremely slow and very rushed food average! Will not be included on our next visit to the USA! Guys truly disappointed with service and food! It not up to previous standards! Didn’t acknowledge the birthday!

Great cheesecake and great service

By Elain H |

Stopped here for a drink first and saw all the cakes so made sure we came back as they also did tea. We weren’t disappointed and the waitress also remembered us. I ordered light strawberry cheesecake hubby ordered the classic. It was delicious…. Creamy with a good base, glad we had in the afternoon as a snack as we would not have managed after dinner. Our waitress was lovely.

Deserves zero stars

By John K |

I ordered a drink, salad and appetizer at bar. After 20 minutes bartender checked with kitchen and said it would be just a few minutes, then after 30 minutes no food, asked for manager who went to check- after 40 minutes I said cancel - I had to leave. He did offer to give it to me to go - not an option for me to carry it around for latter. I went thinking it would be quick but went away hungry for the afternoon.

good food & service

By Carlos O |

went there yester the server Julian was fantastic top notch service and the manager shay was the best! made a long day lest stressful i enjoyed my dinner with my 5 year old daughter we had a good time and it was all because of the grate service!

Big variety, great taste and service, too big of a portion

By Toby M |

I love cheesecake so it was only natural I had to try this while visiting Chicago. Absolutely amazing food and great service that came with it. I had the tiramisu cheesecake and it was brilliant, the thing that was a bit of a struggle was that the portions were so big. I’ve never seen such a big slice, this could have easily been my breakfast, lunch and dinner. One slice could easily feed two people. It was quite an expensive lunchtime treat. However, I wouldn’t mark them down for this as I have noticed the whole city is quite expensive.

Delightful meal and visit

By Kay B |

A group of 6 of us whose friendship dates back 30 years met her for lunch. We live all over the world so rarely see each other but our waiter was exceedingly accommodating in leaving us alone and yet giving us enough attention when we needed / wanted it. Each of us had excellent meals and of course the cheesecake was delicious!

Terrible service, mediocre food

By Journey09270693305 |

At the Summit on HWY 280, Birmingham, AL. A little friendly service goes a long way with me. I can forgive mediocre food if it comes with friendly service. We got very unfriendly service at the Cheesecake Factory. I can’t see any reason for that. My wife and I are nice people. In this day and age you don’t expect this kind of service. The food was OK if a bit Rich like you would expect at the cheesecake factory. But our server was a jerk and seemed to be in a big hurry to get us out of the restaurant as quickly as possible. It was nowhere near closing. She was friendly and chatty with a people sitting next to us but she was very curt and short with us and kept offering us boxes “will you need boxes? Do n’t you want boxes??” and cleared our plates away as quickly as she could. It made me really mad. It ruined my meal. I’m never going to the cheesecake factory again.

Absolutely horrible service

By rikredd2018 |

I was a consumer of this restaurant less that 24 hours ago. The services were horrendous. We had to make a request for everything I do mean everything (table setting, water, soda, and the table bread which is customarily offered as a free item by this establishment? Was never offered) . If you desire to waste your time and money? This is the place for you.

My kids love this place for cakes and sliders

By saman g |

When we were in Chicago the main concern was were to eat as my kids re fuzzy in eating. So we tried out this place and my kids became the fan of this place. They loved the chocolate cake and rainbow cake. But there fav item is Southern Chicken Sliders. They just loved it. After our first successful trial we went there many times it always the same so I prefer it any time as compared to any places for sliders or burgers. The only drawback is the waiting time.

The service is very mportant and it was missing

By avibr18 |

We were there at the end of July 2019. We waited about an hour in line. The place was full of people, and so was the amount of people waiting. We really wanted to eat there. We know the cheesecake factory from our previous visit to Los Angeles. As we sat down we ordered a salad with bread and butter. Classic cheesecake, cappuccino and cold water. We asked the waitress to get it all together. It did not happen. Initially, water then brought the bread and butter, after waiting fifteen minutes brought the coffee and cake and after about 10 minutes brought the salad. I will not detail all the waitress's conduct. But the service was atrocious. The products were good and tasty. The impression is that the food is delicious. The service is very !! important and it was missing. Too bad

Awful

By Freedom64548995357 |

Overpriced food and drink. Restrooms were filthy with paper tissues and toilet paper strewn over the floor. Obviously not cleaned in hours. Staff disinterested when brought to their attention. Avoid. Much better restaurants available nearby

Just great food in a memorable location and served with real charm

By John M |

Had a late lunch at TCF after a long morning of doing the tourist thing around Chicago. We tried the Lemon Garlic Shrimp from their 'skinny' menu, and the Orange Chicken from the a la carte. The food arrived briskly, preceded by warm crusty bread and nicely salted butter, and each dish was simply perfect - the flavours distinct, vibrant and sweet. We washed it down with one of their signature milkshakes, a mango and raspberry cooler, and copious quantities of iced water. Our server was delightful and attentive, and couldn't do enough to ensure our visit was complete. The only poor element was the ladies toilets/restroom.... which were dire. (the boys ones were fine)

Welcomed on arrival & taken straight to the table. They got a huge selection on the menu. Portions are large enough to share.

By SAMUEL T KIM |

Welcomed on arrival & taken straight to the table. They got a huge selection on the menu. Portions are large enough to share. Complimentary bread melts in your mouth. Ordered the Bistro Shrimp Pasta. It comes with mushrooms, tomatoes, and a great cream sauce. I've tried this plate in different restaurants, but this Cheesescake Factory's Bistro Shrimp Pasta is out of this world!!! And there french fries are amazing! Service on spot, staff friendly, polite, and very professional. Many options to choose from & definately something for everyone.

Be careful where you sit and what you order

By Julian140 |

Avoid inside.. so dark. ate as a 4 and last person's dish arrived 15 mins after first.. and then wasn;t as ordered!!! Salad looked as if it had been waiting an hour in the heat . Just go there for a cheesecake and sundae.. they were great

Reservations honored - no wait time!

By womanoffaith81 |

We always try to visit The Cheesecake Factory when in Chicago. We went in a weeknight so it wasn’t too crowded. Our server was nice. The cheese sticks and the spinach artichoke cheese dip was amazing! I always get the same thing - spicy Cajun Jambalaya pasta and it wasn’t as good as I remember previously but still tasty. My daughter and husband liked their cheeseburgers, and my son said the chicken tenders were “alright.” The mood lighting was a little too dark - we had to use our phone flashlights to see the menu. It’s nice and clean in here, and we had no wait as we made reservations ahead of time. Will visit again, but may try something new next time.

Good for a novelty

By Bruce P |

It is what it is! Good , decent meal fills a gap created by hours of walking and shopping. Probably sits between McD's and your hotel restaurant. Has an unbelievably extensive menu both mains and deserts.

Even is not enough for your child

By ihsan P |

I visited the restaurant in Skokie, IL. I ordered a steak without mash potatoes today, August 19, 2022, and I got a plate with four small pieces of (beef stew) supposed to be a steak with a couple of mushrooms. I was searching for the steak and asked the waitress where is the steak she pointed to the steak, and I said, seriously, this is the steak?? I was shocked, and she told me that you excluded the mashed potato we used to make the plate look full. The small pieces are not even enough for a child!! I definitely will not revisit the restaurant.

Dark and delicious

By Dave B |

Two visits - food and service good in both occasions. One order was wrong and the replacement Tsushima took too long to come out. It’s also too dark inside

If you've got all day or night to spend here this is your place

By Kevin B |

Say you've got about an hour for lunch or dinner. Look elsewhere. It will take you about 15 minutes to be seated. Give another 5 - 10 for the server to greet you. Hopefully you know what you want at that point and can immediately order. If not, allow another 15 minutes for the server to return. After your order is placed, allow at least 30 - 45 minutes for the order to be served. After you're done eating, wait another 20 minutes or so for the server to bring your bill. The food is good and the portions are good. The menu is extensive. But DON'T think you are going to get in and out of there in less than 2 hours. The first time this happened I thought it a blip. I've now been there a second time and I know it's standard operating procedure for them.

Unless you want to be ignored, avoid sitting in the bar

By Gene S |

When I think of The Cheesecake Factory (TCF), I think of a slightly higher end restaurant with a slightly better menu, and slightly better service in exchange for a slightly higher price. It sits above fast casual food, but isn't high end by any stretch. For the higher price, you get a slightly better experience over and above your typical sit down place. At least that's my opinion and it frames my expectations for when I see the bill! That's why this review at this location only gets 3 stars. We came after the dinner rush to grab some drinks and dessert and rather than wait for a table, headed straight for the bar and grabbed one of several empty high tops. We watched servers come and go with drinks as the bartender was pretty busy; and several empty handed servers pass by us with what I can only describe as faux busy behavior while avoiding eye contact. I can't tell you which one these might have been our actual server, because after sitting invisibly for 10+ minutes without being acknowledged in any way; we got up and went back to the front to wait for a table. The rest of our experience met my normal expectations and we overpaid for some cheesecake and drinks, but we knew that going in. Sadly we had a similar experience at the Grand Lux (owned by the same parent company) several nights later. Perhaps it is a Chicago thing as we've never had this experience in other cities at other TCF locations. It could be a localized attitude thing, a poorly trained staff thing, or even a local district manager thing. It's hard to tell but it's definitely a Michigan avenue locations thing for TCF. We might be back as we still like the food, but I don't think we're going to sit in the bar.

Never disappoints!

By Victoria H |

I’m a fan of Cheesecake Factory and my visit to Chicago location did not disappoint. The service was exceptional . Food was delicious and presentation was wonderful. My friend had a gluten free meal which she thoroughly enjoyed. We had cheesecake for dessert and it was awesome!

Pathetic

By Zunair M |

Pathetic service and rude staff Never book a table Always ask you to walk in and even if you walk in at 8:30 they say we are not serving as we are short of staff whereas closing time in Chicago is 10 pm۔ Food quality is average Bad experience twice

Food pefection

By Carlos_Gonzalez2013 |

I love The Cheesecake Factory. On my visit to the one in Chicago I had an amazing Spaghetti meatballs and an epic Cinnabon Cheescake. It was hard work but I managed to finish them both! Great food, great staff, great place!

As ever, the best cheesecake there is

By Chris K |

We love Cheesecake Factory. We just had cheesecake and drinks here as we had eaten lunch earlier in the day so just wanted our cheesecake fix. I had the banana cheesecake and my wife one of the peanut butter ones. Both were delicious. Just wish we had this in the UK, it is simply the best!

Excellent

By Alanh1964 |

We call into the Cheese factory while on holiday in Chicago our food was excellent we all had the pasta 😋 . My wife and daughter try some cheese cake I had no room they said if was great .Our service was great never a problem can't wait to go to another cheese factory thanks everybody it was a pleasure

Great spot for a sweet snack during the day

By stevebintley |

Lovely decor and wonderful service made this place ideal for a mid-morning sweet treat. While they do have a full food menu they were happy for us just to order a couple of slices of cheesecake and as well as them being massive they were delicious! It was strange for there not to be any prices on the menu but fortunately it ended up being reasonable value when the bill arrived, and there’s certainly something for all tastes available. There’s also a full bar and large selection of cocktails available too. I’d recommend!

Delicious… with a big fat Deeeeee

By PFitzy73 |

I stopped off at The Cheesecake Factory here in Chicago just after I’d been up at the Tilt ride at Chicago 360. The Cheesecake factory is at the ground level in that same location and I sat out on the patio for brunch. I had the coconut cheesecake too. Deeelicious!!! Worth the hype.

Poor Service, average food

By didi |

Terrible service. The service was very slow. The food was average and we had to ask for the bread. We ordered a meal to share and they didn't even bring plates so we had to use the tiny bread plate to eat our meal. This was our second experience at a cheesecake factory. The first one we went to was in Hawaii and the service the was fantastic. So was the food. The lines were out the door because of how good this was. This one in Chicago is to be avoided. The were not many people there which is a sign. There are many better places to eat in Chicago. Slow service with poor people skills. We had fish which was tiny portions and not much flavour so definitely needed the sauce. Bread was not warm.

Spend your money elsewhere

By Bobbie B |

We ate at the Michigan Ave Cheesecake Factory on April 7 around 7:15pm. I am a go with the flow, laid back, never complain person. This trip will be my final one to this restaurant at this location. We were seated and 15 minutes later our waiter came to the table for a drink order. We ordered water and one mixed drink (table for 2). 5 minutes later we were given plates and cutlery. 20 minutes later the water. Our food was brought out by a different server and after eating nearly all my meal another waiter brought my mixed drink. Our waiter never checked up on us or to see if we needed refills, etc. My meal was sticky and I got up to use the beautiful CCF bathroom. They are known for these fun rooms. All the rooms were disgusting. I mean I would rather use a porta-potty than go in there. I washed my hands and scooted out as quickly as possible. We ordered cheesecake to take home and that was another 20 minutes, he didn’t include cutlery so there was another 15 minutes. Then we asked for the bill for the 5th time and 15 minutes later he brought it and another 15 minutes later he brought it back after he ran the card. The food was good, but that is the only good thing I can say. As we walked out I very respectfully informed the hostess that the bathrooms needed attention. Instead of thanking me she glared at me. Seriously such a bad choice and place to spend $90 for dinner.

Unprofessional service

Food is great, decor must go.

By Heather C |

Good service, good food, amazing cheesecake, but decor is distracting and needs updating. I couldn’t decide if I felt like I was in a Disney-themed restaurant waiting for a bunch of costumed actors to come out singing or like I was inside the bowels of some fictional character. The ceiling looks like giant intestines to me. My daughter thought it looked like we were inside a lattice pie. Either way, it takes away from your appetite more than anything. Really no other complaints. I looked online and it looks like this one was built and designed in 1994. Times have changed. Time for an update. Or just order your cheesecake TO GO!

The worst Cheesecake Factory I have visited in the US

By jodi06 |

We had dinner here 9 July, visiting Chicago from Australia. We have enjoyed dining in may Cheesecake Factory restaurants in the US, and expected the same good food and service we have previously received. Boy were we wrong! We were seated quickly. and then avoided for half an hour. We were not given any bread and once we ordered our food, it took another half an hour to get to the table. (Simple order of a burger and a breaded chicken pizza thing). When the food was delivered I ordered another beer, as the first one was long gone after the half hour wait. The second beer was delivered as we were ready to leave! I get that this venue probably relies on lots of tourists and therefore the idgaf attitude from the waiting staff. Would not recommend.

Excellent experience

By Daniela |

Cozy atmosphere and attentive staff. Generous portions. Excellent (strawberry) cheesecake. It's absolutely worth it.

Started bad and went downhill from there

By Lookiemike |

Went for dinner tonight. We were told by staff we could sit outside then after we were seated a waiter came and said we couldn't sit there. This set the tone for the night and we should have left at this point. We were seated inside in the restaurant and our order was taken. After some time our waitress came and said the manager was coming to see us - seems they had delivered our order to another table. The manager apologized and said they would make it right, and our order was reordered. Let's just say we overheard apologies at other tables but there was no further action taken by the manager so we are guessing her apology was pretty empty. The food was okay, pretty much NZ pub standard, and the lemon meringue cheesecake was OK but very sweet. Given the poor organisation/service and lack of customer service skills we won't be in a hurry to go back.

Yummy jambalaya

By Nathalie P |

We like this restaurant brand and enjoyed the Chicago Magnificent Mile location. Light was very rare but food was good, in particular the jambalaya pastas. Everything was enormous and yummy as usual. Good pick for the value.

Good Food Good Service

By ken k |

We came on a Sunday around 4pm. 1 1/2 hour wait for inside table. I got fish and chips. It was good and nice portion. The other (3) got steaks. They liked them. Good service, quirky atmosphere, dim lighting. Homemade fresh bread served with meal. Three of is got a slice of cheesecake. Bill came to $172, before tip.

Won’t be back

By Lco |

Usually love going to cheesecake factory, however this visit was very disappointing. Just got 2 appetisers, nachos and buffalo chicken wings. Nachos were bland & tasted of squirty cheese, which I hate. Chicken wings were so cold it felt like they came out of a refrigerator but sauce was way too spicy to enjoy. I’m hoping the chef was having a bad night but will be hesitant to return. Pity

Another Great visit to a Cheesecake Factory

By Russ H |

OK, in the interest of honesty, we had no cheesecake on this visit. Sadly. We went early (we were the first people in for the day, having arrived on the train, checked in and were hungry), but were well received and served. And service was quite good. If you have ever been to one of these, then you know what the ambiance is like fun and frosty. We got very different meals than we usually do. We got Guacamole' (really well prepared and delicious) and Design Your Own Omelets. They were very good. Yes, we were eating light, as we would be having a large Italian meal fairly early. So, sadly, no cheesecake. But it was still a great visit.

Reserve a Table!

By Jaime L |

We were not going to reserve a table since this is a chain restaurant, but so glad we decided to. Wait times for walk-ins were almost two hours long. Food was great, they do this thing with calories to food that put a bit of a damper on the ordering haha, but service was great and food was consistent with any other Cheesecake Factory. Good and easy spot.

Cheesecake To-Go

By Logan Waller |

I love coming here and getting a slice to go because it is easy and simple to go in, order, and be out within 10 minutes. The new cinnabon cheesecake slice stole my heart though it was amazing!

Honoring the franchise with the famous and delicious meatloaf!

By Maria Beatriz Lobo |

Maintaining the tradition of the franchise, this Cheese Cake Factory in downtown Chicago innovates with a very “festive” decor, good service and famous food! Today we tried the famous meatloaf with mash and corn, glazed with onions and a very tasty sauce! It always remains a good value for money!

Great food!

By Heather D |

We went on Sunday and I got the monte cristo which is awesome! The eggroll sampler was delicious because we couldn't decide which ones to get. My sangria was good and of course our banana cream pie cheesecake was great! We were able to eat outside and it is in a central location. Service was good. I definitely recommend this place!

Great service

By Missy B |

We had a late dinner here on our first night in Chicago. It is a huge restaurant and was very crowded but the service was still very good and the food was delicious.

Wouldn’t go back

By Socape |

Hostess in a bad mood. Service ok. Food as expected, however the restrooms were absolutely disgusting.

Burned Hand

By Kristalz |

We went here for our last night in Chicago for dinner. My son ordered a hamburger and fries and the server handed him a hot plate and he burned his hand! He let go and most of his fries went flying all over and in his drink. No apology or anything, just brought him out a few fries and a new drink which wasn't even right. The first server we got kept hurry us along as she was ending her shift so that was annoying to begin with, then this happens? Would never return or recommend this place ever!

Impossible Burger

By hunslet49 |

I hadn't realised that the Cheesecake Factory was an actual thing, I just thought it was made up for the Big Bang Theory. A member of our group said, "you really must try the impossible burger." I thought, knowing the Americans it will be so huge it will be impossible to eat, but actually it is impossible to believe that it isn't real meat. And, trust me, it is impossible to believe that it is meat-free. An excellent burger and saving the planet - what's not to like? The Cheesecake I had for dessert was pretty impressive as well - but then you know that, don't you?

Very nice lunch

By Darren L |

We came here for lunch on a shopping trip to Michigan Ave. We both had chicken mushroom and artichoke soup and we shared a portion of crispy brussel sprouts. Our server Jasmine was very pleasant. We would be happy to come back.

Great salads!

By PaulaGalvin |

Despite this place been known for its calorie laden and delicious cheesecakes we opted to have salads from the slim menu We were delighted, huge portions, fresh and vibrant Chef's salad and a chicken salad.

A lot of cheesecake!

By Nick_k_uk |

Got some slices to go. Tried the red velvet cheesecake, a lot of cheesecake and very rich. Not sure if sampler version available, would try that option if ever went back for a smaller selection.

Poor Service

By Jannat S |

I am a great fan of cheesecake factory and eat here often. However my recent experience at the Michigan Av branch was terrible. The bread arrived after the main course and the mashed potatoes were missing from our grilled salmon entree. When I asked the waitress about this her reply was, “I don’t cook !” Extremely disappointed by the poor service.. don’t think I will go here again.

Weird Design and Poor Service

By romadaro |

I’ve been to Cheesecake Factory’s all across the country and the design and decor of this one is by far the weirdest yet. But, fortunately, the food was consistent with what I’ve come to expect, if only they got the order right the first time! As a result, by the time the last item that I was supposed to get came out, I had finished the other two items that were part of the dish and had drank so much water and tea that I was full and didn’t touch the last item. You would think that at least part of the meal would have been comped or the check discounted, but I got nothing more than an apology. Needless to say, I won’t be going back to this location or recommending it to friends or colleagues visiting the area.

A bit of racism goes a long way

By Cruiser63093101897 |

If I could give zero stars, I definitely would. Me and my lady didn't get a chance to eat any food because they had us waiting so long for a waiter/waitress that we left! I felt like it was related to me and my lady being black because the waitress sat us in a dark place inside the restaurant and said, "Enjoy," and walked off. We waited for almost fifteen minutes while the mainly white staff kept walking past, and no one came to see about us, so we left pretty upset. The good thing is that we found a nice Indian restaurant where they treated us with respect and hospitality. So my birthday (July 10th) turned out really well. ❤️

Good experience

By stuart w |

Came here with a business group of 16, popular place and busy atmosphere. The food was decent enough and the service team were friendly and attentive

Zero Service With A Side Of Aversive Racism

By finesse w |

We were seated immediately. We waited to order for about 10-15 minutes but no server arrived.despite workers constanly passing our table. It wasn't crowded and we were the only Black customers. Once we realized we were being ignored, we left. Do not recommend.

This factory needs to go back to the drawing board.

By SKSC |

I was excited to find out that Chicago has a Cheesecake factory and made it a priority to dine here. I have eaten at Cheesecake factories in Peabody, MA, Las Vegas, NV and can now check off this location. A big downfall to this place is location. It is located at the bottom of the John Hancock building which I had no trouble finding, but I couldn’t find an accessible way to the bottom as I only saw massive amounts of stairs (which are difficult for me). I had to go into the best buy and ask about an elevator I could take… the struggle continued. When I got to the bottom I felt like Alice in Wonderland going through a maze with lots of twists and turns which was confusing and frustrating. Not a good thing when dealing with the disabled. When we finally arrived there was no line up so we were seated immediately. We knew in advanced what we wanted to eat, so when it was time to order we started off with the crispy crab bites (with dip) that were scrumptious and by far the best appetizers on the menu. We also had the pretzel bites with cheddar cheese fondue which wasn’t magical and the crab and artichoke dip which wasn’t very warm nor tasty. For my entrée I had the turkey and avocado sandwich (no avocado) from the skinny menu and it was filling and satisfying. We ordered our usual dessert to share which is the red velvet cheesecake and was not disappointed. Very fresh, tasty and a generous slice size. Our server was so-so, he was polite and professional and served us at a decent pace. Unfortunately this was not one of the best experiences I’ve had and probably will not eat here again!

Avoid.

By D Cullen |

We had a long wait for our food and the service was not that good. The portion sizes appear to be getting smaller, though prices are the same. There was no bread served while we waited, which would have helped with the wait. The toilets are not pleasant and there were no towels in the dispenser. First time that we’ve left CF without ordering cheesecake but we all just wanted to leave fast.

Dessert

By TKSSHAMMIE |

We typically don’t eat dinner here, but do stop for dessert. Cheesecake is always amazing. Cinnabon was to die for! Stop here then go to 360 Chicago for a great nighttime experience. The bathroom was pretty fancy too!

lovely meatloaf, but lumpy mash and sweetcorn !!!!

By helenandpaul13 |

Went here for lunch. Situated just of the main road in an underground area with a waterfall behind us. I just had the cheesecake while my wife had the meatloaf. The cheesecake was great and her meatloaf was fantastic although she was concerned that it was served with lumpy mash and loads of sweetcorn. Don't know why they had no other vegetables. You can forgive one, but not both. With my cake and a coffee and a soft drink the bill again came to over $50 and that was with only one main meal. America has trued into an expensive place to visit under Trump

Fantastic Food and Exceptional Service

By Michelle C |

We came Sunday at 3:45 p.m. It was a graduation celebration for a party of four. The food was superb and the service was excellent. I want to give a shout-out to Jessica she went above and beyond my expectations! Delicious food and awesome service.

Restaurant close to the Chicago summit

By Dinerdoll |

Located below the 360 Tower, nice sunny day in Chicago and the restaurant looked inviting. We chose to eat outside and staff very attentive and friendly. Had nicely presented salads large portions of tasty food washed down with local beer. Cheesecake desert was best we had ever had looked good tasted fantastic really enjoyed the experience. Reasonable cheque so well worth a visit especially if going up the 360 Tower

A must while in Chicago. Warning .......Portions are large!!

By GRAHAM C |

Had a lovely meal here with friends. Helpful and attentive waitress. A very extensive menu with mouth-watering options...too many as it happens... eyes were bigger than my belly. Had burger sliders to start, followed by the soup and then the cheesecake. Too much for me .....all the courses were lovely, large and filling especially the cheese cake. Beauuutifffful. Had difficulty finding the entrance off the Magnificent Mile as its down some steps and had difficulty navigating said steps after the meal due to overeating !!!! Lovely Jubbly.!!

Chicago Cheesecake factory

By ATHANASIOS K |

A great place for dinning or just having a desert. The stuff were very kind and helpful. Amazing cheesecakes. We have visited cheesecake factory a lot of times during our stay. Excellent food and the deserts... awesome.

Our server sucked

By hrmkendall |

Our server sucked. The food, we had no issues with. However our server, maybe one of the worst we ever have had. When my husbands salad came out, before our appetizers, I knew she forgot to put in the app. Our kids hasn’t gotten their beverages so I mentioned that and when she asked for more bread, I expressed we’d be fine with the app. After, she comes over and says the kitchen is backed up. Then, a moment later, she says our entrees are ready. So she lied. Just tell me you forgot to put it in. Don’t blame the kitchen. My husband had a tooth pick or piece of wooden stick in his fish n chips. Thought it was a fry. Drinks sat empty, we waited a long time at the end of the meal for boxes, she never checked if we needed things (we did). My husband didn’t want to tip but we ultimately did because that’s just who we are. We wanted to speak to the manager but honestly, just didn’t want to be “those people”. I just would have preferred honestly and attention.

More than just Cheesecakes!

By John E |

We had an early evening meal here. Staff were very polite and helped us choose meals which did not have egg within it, as my partner has an egg allergy.

Great Dinning

By Julie M |

Make sure you are hungry when you visit here. Great menu. Every type of food you can imagine. Big portions. Cheesecakes are amazing....just share. Staff very friendly and informative. Well worth a visit.

Don't Be In A Hurry

By hmouse2016 |

Food was what you would expect. Ok nothing spectacular. Had a very long wait for food two different days. The first time the waiter kept coming back to check which was nice. The second time long waits between seeing the wait person. I would not go again.

Dependable

By jemfromwales |

Been here many times and the food is always good. I never go at weekends or peak hours. Wait time is ridiculous and the place is too noisy. I like the skinnylicious menu because one meal off the main menu is enough calories for one whole week. I am shocked that a piece of cheesecake is over 1000 calories but it is good to know. I had a skinnylicious asian chicken salad. Tasty and filling. My friend had chicken madeira. Very good as well.

Couples night

By Dorothy S |

Rough start however Don was exceptional and the food was awesome. Not quite sure if I would go back because of the dirty booth and long wait for food.

A Tale of Two Visits

By Bob M |

We visited the Cheescake factory twice while staying in Chicago. The first visit was on a busy Sunday evening. We were seated in about 5 minutes, our server Corey was efficient and polite and the food was good for the price. So – we thought we’d go again; mid-week this time. We were seated immediately which was great. Then we sat. And we sat. And we sat. Nobody came to serve us. Eventually, I grabbed a passing manager (they’re good at no eye contact) and asked for help. He sent a server who took our order (without any apology for the delay) and then instead of putting the order in, went to another table. He was still there 10 minutes later! We tried to get re-seated in an area that might serve us, but apparently that was impossible. Couldn’t be bothered to argue and left for an excellent dinner elsewhere. WE WON’T EAT HERE AGAIN1

Cheesecake Factory Mag Mile - Lunch experience

By Harald L |

First time actually in a Cheesecake Factory. We were passing by from a long walk and ended up having lunch. Service was really good, we felt welcomed. Quality of food, sandwiches and burger was outstanding, we expected much less.

Cheesecake Options To Die For

By B Smith |

Worst part of your dining experience will be the struggle to decide which type of cheesecake you want to try. Delicious!

Very, Very Busy place...

By Ed O |

Looking for a place to eat 4 of us discovered this familiar name. We were seated quickly. in a noisy location. I had the Chinese Chicken Salad. I have had this dish several times in my local area. This was NO comparison. Almost no chicken that was not fresh. Just small pieces and very few of them. Salad part was ok not exceptional like my local Cheese Cake Factory in Peoria, az. Wife had a Chopped salad and she was not happy with here meal...

Not what I expected from TCF

By Indah Edlightz |

We were staying nearby so we decided to come in for evening drinks and some food. We were seated downstairs. It was very dark and dingy. It wasn't very busy but the staff was not around. i'm not sure what the these of the restaurant is but seems very out of date. we started off with drinks but the place smelled very musky and old and it turned us off from eating so we left shortly after we finished the drinks.

Food is always good

By Xamot Tomax |

We enjoyed our lunch here. They have a nice food/drink menu with good service. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. Our food was good, but I was more interested in the desserts we passed on our way to the table. A few of the different cheesecakes had my name on them. Once our meals were finished, the desserts didn’t disappoint us.

Delicious food!

By Cindy G |

The food was delicious! Gerald, our server, was very professional and friendly. The cheesecake is fantastic.

Super customer service and good food

By boff64 |

Cheesecake Factory menus are extensive, but the thing about this venue was the service. My wife and father in law are both Coeliac. The waitress and kitchen staff were excellent, even cooking their own bread as they'd run out. Thank you for consistently good food, but more importantly great service. Keep up the good work.

Amazing Food and Desert

By Tamari Kiziria |

I have been in a couple of different Cheesecake factories and everywhere food was delicious same was in this one as well. Great food, great service. Love it

Such a shame!

By jaa |

I love the CF in The Woodlands Houston Texas. But I’ve never had the same experience or food quality at others! Including Chicago. Dirty knife, limp lettuce and burnt artichoke that we sent back as couldn’t even cut it! The place felt like it needed upgrading and a good spruce up, tatty cutlery stand as you walk in. I may just stick to The Woodlands after all.

Great Cheese cake

By Shane Grimwood |

Looking for places to eat in Chicago we tried the Cheesecake Factory, while the meals were typical American diner type fare which to me isnt the best or nutricious and the serves are way to big for the average person the eat the Cheesecake varities and options is awesome, great tasting and value for money, the Cheescake factory is one of those places you need to experience when in the USA

Never a disappointment

By Jason M |

There's a reason there's always a wait there, that's because everything in the menu is amazing. I highly recommend the burrito it's huge and absolutely delicious...

Enjoyed the food and the cheesecake; service was lacking

By Travel_Addict_Cyprus |

We were told the wait was an hour. We waited outside in the freezing December weather, and checked back after an hour and were told our table was being prepared. After 10 more minutes we had to go and let them know that we had a show to go to and we had been waiting for more than an hour. They gave us a table. The waitress came over with water and bread... and then ignored us for the next 20 minutes. We were starving, and after waiting outside for 70 minutes we had already looked at the menu and knew what we were getting, so to have to wait another 20 minutes inside was frustrating. The waitress was actually ignoring us, and if we didn't have a show to get to i would have walked out. At 4:30 (20 min after being seated), she came over with another guy, letting us know he was going to be our waiter. Apparently her shift was nearly over and that's why we got that treatment. This is totally unprofessional. She should have taken our orders and told us someone else would be serving us after that (at least that's what happens at other restaurants during shift change). The new waiter asked if we were ready to order and i responded that we had been ready for a while. He turned around to tell her, and she refused it was so! She was so rude and unprofessional, it was unbelievable. The menu was extensive; so many choices, i did not know what to get. I got the Chicken Madeira, and it was very tasty. It came with mushed potatoes. My husband got the Bang Bang Chicken & Shrimp. Both delicious. We went for the original cheesecake and it was really good. Service is very slow overall.

Great Food - Not So Great Service

By SnowTravelerz |

I am rating my review on the service. The service was really slow. Our waiter really needed more training. He seemed to get confused and never would come back when he said he would . It took forever to get our dessert and the check. The food was excellent!! There is a wide variety of food to fit everyone’s taste. The cheesecake menu was incredible! It was hard to choose just one. I recommend having a mini sampler on the menu. I recommend getting a reservation if you plan to visit. It’s a popular place!

Great For Desert Lovers....

By khushbu b |

i loved the cheesecakes here...i have tried The Strawberry, keylime, Nutella.... they yummy .... The Food is also good...

Disappointing

By mikeandlynnc |

We met my sister there for lunch and were disappointed with the food. My wife likes Cobb salads and has had many over the years at various places in various cities including at Cheesecake Factories in Las Vegas and Fort. Lauderdale. She said hers was not very good, disappointing. I had Eggs Benedict and it was ok but not exceptional. I have had better often .The service was also just ok. All in all 3 stars at best. The best thing was my indiscretion, the hot fudge sundae. It was good but quite pricey.

America was once pioneer at hospitality and cleanliness. Not eating at a place where there isto be no pride in clean BR.

By nataliep996 |

Your bathrooms are awful. On magnificent mile! Shame. Left the restaurant, no appetite after dealing with a filthy rooms.

Great Cheesecake!

By JFWhite |

My wife came to eat here. Really good food as always. I love the breakfast at night so that is what I took, followed by a peanut butter cheesecake! This is on the bottom floor of the Hancock Building. For those who are looking for it :)

Didn't disappoint !

By CherylanneOntario |

Great ambience and delicious food, served by very welcoming staff. Everything was delicious and even though I was full, I couldn't resist getting the famous cheesecake to go !

Portions are getting smaller, quality not what it was

By Anthony B |

I love the cheesecake factory, have been an advocate for years. When I used to order the COBB salad and sweet potato fries there would be food envy. Not so on this trip. The portion size is evidently much smaller, and the quality of ingredients simply isn't there. You used to be able to rely on the cheesecake factory for both, not I question what it's USP is. I had better elsewhere on this trip. At the Monte Cristo for Sunday brunch didn't disappoint. However, if they don't buck up their ideas they'll lose me as a promoter (not that they care).

Fabulous lunch

By Larry Fudge |

My wife and I decide to have lunch after visiting the 360 Observation Tower. Restaurant is located at the entrance to the John Hancock Building so it was very convenient. Restaurant was very busy but we were seated immediately and promptly approached by Omar, our waiter. He brought bread to the table which was a pleasant surprise as we knew it would be take a while to get our food. I ordered the soup and salad special while my wife ordered the half chicken salad sandwich with caesar salad. Both were excellent! The salad my wife had was huge and she could not finish it and my soup was rich and creamy. My wife is not going to dine at the Cheesecake Factory and not have desert so we shared a serving of the pumpkin pecan cheesecake. Excellent also! Omar was excellent and checked with us often even though he was extremely busy. Great service and exceptional food. One of the best experiences I have had at a Cheesecake Factory.

Terrible after taste in my mouth after first bite. Disturbing....

By Venus |

I ordered carryout Yesterday. I ordered a$17.50 cobb salad and the hardboiled egg tasted like poop because it was rotten. looked great but almost sent me to the ER. during Covid19. I also ordered a $17.50 bacon bacon burger. They never put the bacon on my burger. my bill was $39.10. I call with a complaint and the manager only offered to send me a gift card cause I would not drive all the way back that night. Therefore corporate will not refund me my money. Very unsatisfied ex-customer. If I would not have called with my complaint other customers are at risk. Business is slow and they are stretching the expiration dates on items. Do not p[ay for food poison.

All your favourites and central location. A busy and atmospheric restaurant.

By AnilJ |

A vibrant and atmospheric restaurant and hugely popular with tourists given its fantastic location beneath the Hancock Tower. The bar staff were very polite and courteous. The Glam burgers are delicious and are served according to your tastes as the ingredients are fresh. We were walk-in customers and had to wait nearly 1.5hrs for a free table (despite lots being available and can only assume the reduced staff covers) , so try to ensure you make a booking in advance especially as tourists are flooding back to the sights with COVID lifting.

Bad

By My name is _ |

They overlooked the steak more than well done it was burnt, we also found hair in the mashed potatoes and in the pasta, also they didn’t offer us something like free desert like they normally do at other restaurants, and they dropped marinara sauce and some got on my little babuska

Always Great

By armagh222 |

I always visit the Cheesecake factory when on holiday in the US. Chicago is a particular favourite for me as service is always great, as is the food. My chicken main was delicious, and the cheesecake wasn't bad either. A great place for a relaxing informal meal.

Rude staff member

By Millieb00 |

The “hostess” was so unbelievably rude & unhelpful that we decided not to stay & eat. Disappointed as we were travelling from ireland and had been looking forward to trying.

Good Value and Good food

By sisterida |

My husband and I like to have lunch at Cheesecake Factory. We enjoyed the spinach dip and the warm bread which started our meal. We both had salmon which was cooked to the exactly correct temperature. The cheesecake which we split at the end was fresh and the strawberries made the perfect topping. This is always a favorite Chicago place.

Ordered 4 slices of cheesecake

By Troosters |

Ordered 4 slices of cheesecake to take back with us to other state and we decided to try one. The freshbanana cream was a key-lime cheesecake with bananas on the side. We were scheduled to drive back home next day in the morning. End up waiting until 11am, when the restaurant to open and exchange our order. Manager was more concerned of who was the baker the night before instead on apologising for the mistske. Would I go back or suggest anyone to go there, not so sure anymore. Used to be great customer oriented restaurant not so much anymore! Very disappointing.

Amazing food in a great location. I would recommend the club sandwich. But has a great choice of different food on the menu.

Over-priced and way too much food

By Jason G |

I tend to visit a Cheesecake Factory whenever we have a family holiday to the US but this may be the last time. This particular one is no worse or better than any other but this was, by far, the most expensive meal we had during our two weeks on holiday. And not the best. The quality of the food is fine but there's just way too much food per person. It seems deliberately designed to give you so much food you must take some home. But that doesn't work when you're on holiday. So much waste!

Food Quality Poor, Customer Service Worse

By chgocutie |

I gave this particular Cheesecake Factory another chance, and once again it totally disappointed. I placed an online order for the Grilled RibEye, as well as for a slice of the chocolate tower cake. The cake was excellent, but the RibEye was just...meh. The quality of it has significantly gone down. In addition (and the biggest issue I have) is the customer service. The last time I stopped in, the person at the bakery counter processing the pick up orders had a real big lackadaisical attitude. THIS time, the person at the counter acted as if she could've cared less about the people there. Again, there was no order in terms of where the line started/ended, and as I stood at what I thought was the back of the line but wasn't, the young lady simply looked at me, rolled her eyes and said nothing. When I finally got to the correct front of the line, she hurriedly gave me my food, not even a thank you. When I asked if I needed to sign anything, she looked at me and with that same attitude, said "NO" and walked off. Two times fail. At this point I can honestly say that there will not be a third.

Great food!

By Mariana P |

I try to go to The Cheesecake Factory whenever i can. The food is always good, love the menu and, of course, the cheesecake. This one was no exception. The only problem is that the restaurant is too dark. The decor is the same everywhere but somehow, because this one is bellow ground, it s darker than usual. Still, do not let that stop you from going or distract you from the delicious food ; )

Cheesecake Factory you never disappoint

By carollkemp8 |

Lunch on a damp day - menu as always full of choices and options and cheesecake to go which served as a snack later in the evening. Fab service

RUDE Employees in November 2020

By Feryal K |

My experiences with Customer Service at Cheesecake Factory in Chicago on Michigan Ave, are terrible. I'm sorry. When I went on Saturday August 12, 2023 for 2 slices of Cheesecake, the wait was not terrible and customer service was okay. On August 2023, I asked for a slice of Cookie Dough Pecan Cheesecake, it's a new Dessert item. and the Employee told me it was "not Keto Friendly" I didn't ask if it was Keto Friendly, and I did not need to know. Common Sense would tell anyone that Desserts are NOT friendly to any diet. As a woman recovering from an Eating Disorder, telling me a dessert is NOT this or that Diet "Friendly" can really hurt my feelings. I'm not asking for a refund, or even an Apology. My experience in November 2020 at the Cheesecake Factory on Michigan Ave, was MUCH WORSE. To be Honest, this August 2023 experience was wonderful compared to the experience I had in November 2020, when the employee yelled at me, and the avocados in my avocado egg rolls were brown, and the slice of cheesecake I ordered was broken into 2 piece.

Great food.. when you get it!

We visited on a Monday evening, it was busy but we were seated straight away. The service wasn’t the best, long waits for our order to be taken, for our drinks to arrive and almost 30 mins from sitting down until our food arrived! When it did, it was delicious and worth the wait. If the service had been better it would have been 5 stars!

Very good

After all these years finally stopped in. For decades I presumed it was about sweets and desserts. We all had salads. All were very good. A great server. Nice to have such good food and good service.

Still good food

When we go up to Chicago, the spouse likes to have lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Believe it or not, we ordered the same sandwich as last time.......grilled chicken with avocado and bacon.......soooo yummy. We do swap out the french fries for the sweet potato fries. For dessert we did try a cheesecake that we hadn't tried before, Reese's peanut butter chocolate cake cheesecake. It was also very good.....not my favorite, but still very good.

Just arrived in Chicago from NZ

By adventureguyNZ |

Arrived late on a Sunday night and most places were closed. Popped in here and iwas quite busy with a good vibe. Food was a little expensive being from NZ but it was what we would call good pub food back home. Staff were very friendly.

The usual

The location and outdoor seating is very nice. We sat on the outside which is off the street down in a little grotto I guess you can call it. It's the Cheesecake Factory not much else to say.

Familiar Comfort Food with Friendly Service

By CarolusvL |

A solid Cheesecake Factory experience. We were seated quickly, the service was friendly, and the food was classic, plentiful, and fairly priced. Conveniently located, with a menu that’s hard to beat for variety.

Very nice location and deco. Reliably good chain food

By BeLaZe |

Upscale chain food that never disappoints yet rarely excites. This location is very nice: steam punk inside and out. Nice view from the window (even nicer outside but the police helicopters were too loud to sit outside). The food was also good and servings are large. Had the service (that was competent and speedy) been a bit more personable, I may have ventured to 5 stars.

Unorganized mess

We went here for dinner one evening, as it was the only thing open close by. There was no service outside and an hour wait for inside (even though there were lots of empty tables). So, we got in line to place a take-out order. They didn't tell us where to pick up the order, so we waited for a very long time on our food, which was cold by the time we figured out that the to-go orders were in a different room.

Not the most spectacular cheesecake factory there is, but averagely good

By Erna |

During our stay in Chicago we ate twice at the Cheesecake Factory because it is one of our favorite chain restaurants in the USA. We had the same friendly service both times and it all tasted very good! However, the interior design takes some getting used to here, I still haven't figured out what to simulate or represent with it, in any case it makes you wonder and look around. Definitely one point deduction is given for the toilets, these were in fact not usable, as my predecessor wrote, everything is under water or whatever... The toilets are a catastrophe and certainly speak against a (further) visit to the restaurant.

Loved it here!

The food was excellent! We had a wonderful time here. Very clean, and great atmosphere. Our waitress was probably the best waitress we’ve ever had at a restaurant. Very enjoyable experience.

Nice experience

The Cheesecake Factory is always a must visit when I'm in the US. Good food, smooth service and nice atmosphere. And of course: delicious cheese cake!

Take the calories off the menu! Lol

By Ruszange |

We were quite traumatized by the caloric content of a single piece of cheesecake and the meals here. How do they serve an entire days worth of calories in a slice of cheesecake? Or a plate of spaghetti? LOL Maybe I’m just bad at guessing nutritional values. But I had the bang bang chicken and shrimp which was mostly veggies and curry sauce and brown rice. It was ok. I wouldn’t order it again. We tried the mango key lime and the caramel apple cheesecake. Both were good but I don’t need to have it again. Glad I finally ate here, but I don’t need to come back. Service here for us was not good. We had to check In with hostess TWICE because she forgot about us??? With our Reservation? And when sat finally, nobody came to our table for at least 15 mins. We weren’t in a hurry so bit a huge deal but by the time she finally showed up we had checked out the menu online and just ordered food. Never even were asked if we wanted drinks. Just got some water from the bus girl.

Lovely food!

Whilst staying in Chicago we came here for dinner twice and also popped in one afternoon for cocktails. The staff are friendly and the service was quick on both visits. The fish tacos were amazing and the skinnylicious menu is brilliant. I cant believe that the low calorie menu was just that as it was just as good as the standard menu. But the one thing that we loved were the mojitos. They were amazing!!! the best we have ever had in fact! Wouldn't hesitate to re-visit if we ever come back to Chicago.

Love it

Have eaten in various Cheesecake Factory restaurants in the US. Never had a bad meal yet. Great food, great service. Big portions, so you may want to share.

Reasonable food with “unique” decor any tourist should experience.

By Neverunderdressed |

Pure Americana. As a Brit here solo for business I wanted an easy meal close to my hotel on my last day in Chicago. Having been told that the cheesecake factory was a commonly enjoyed place I went for it. What a decor! It’s almost like walking into the inside of a Tim Burton movie crossed with a giant chocolate eclair. The food was reasonable and the cheesecake (as expected) was very good. Service polite and attentive. Worth a visit purely to stare at the ceiling and think….why?

Very slow service

By cynchChicago |

We arrived at 3:10 PM and were seated immediately near a window, as we requested. They also reduced the volume of the very loud music as we requested. 30 minutes later, a server took our order. 30 minutes after that, our food arrived. The lunch sized herb crusted salmon was very good, as was the harvest chicken salad and the warm whole grain bread. We had hoped to avoid crowds by arriving at 3:10 PM so we were surprised that we had to wait so long to order and then to get our food.

Average food

Hi we visited here on a Friday at 2 pm . We were give option of inside /outside . We had no problem waiting 15 mins for a interior table . This is where it all went wrong . Eventually we got served and food arrived . Food was ok at best some drinks orders were forgotten . Eventually after 50 mins food arrived . Five star manager rrsponse

By Sarah S |

I was in the area on business last week and ordered online to grab on my way back to my hotel nearby after a long day of meetings. Due to the restaurant being busy and a bit of miscommunication, my order took more than double the time and was not ideal. However, how management handled the situation leads me to give five stars. My concerns were addressed promptly and I received a follow up call two days later, which was much appreciated. Things happen and orders occasionally get overlooked, but making the effort to fix things goes a long way. For that reason, I’ll definitely come back next time I’m there on business. And my cookie dough cheesecake was amazing.

Delicious 😋

When we went there, we had to wait a little while because it was very crowded (I don't doubt why everybody goes there), but eventually we got a good table. Prices were ok, and the food was great. I ordered some pasta with mushrooms and white sauce. If you go there, you have to ask for this dish. It was one of the tastiest - I tried to make it at home but it turned out impossible. Other aspects include the waiters' uniforms making them look very professional, the decor and the calming music. Five stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ As for the dessert, all three of us had cheesecake, but we took it to go, since we were full! Overall, great experience - would recommend.

The range of cakes is huge - with a calorie indication

By GabrielaSeevetal |

The cheesecake factory is located below the John Hancock Tower on the Mag Mile. There are beautiful places outside in the shade. The interior is dignified. Two large showcases show countless cheesecakes with price and calorie indication! I chose a refreshing piece of key-lime cake. The pieces of cake are very large and taste excellent. It is also offered cappuccino with almond milk. For a break a good location.

Great

Food was delicious, service efficient, staff were very nice and friendly. We had cheesecake and it was very tasty.

Make sure you book

Sadly when we went the first time the restaurant was closed as there was a issue then on the second time it was packed , but we did manage to get some cheesecake to go and it was great , the pride is bit heavy but it’s a treat so u can justify it .

Directly below the 360 Skydeck, John Hancock Tower

By Dave & Steph |

Right next to the entrance to the 360 Skydeck is the Cheesecake Factory. Outdoor seating, very cool. Inside it is rather dark and cramped, and therefore loud. The stupidest toilets I have ever encountered! Each cabin has its own sink, which would actually be convenient. But the water splashes in all directions, the wastepaper basket is much too small, so there is paper on the floor, which slowly gets wetter and wetter... It's a real mess on the floor! No matter, the food is great as always, the service too, nothing to complain about!

Disappointed

By klhertz |

Took almost an hour to get food. My husbands burger was overdone. There was some excuse as to why my meal took so long; however, we should have been told long before that they were out and had to make “fresh”. Found out only after asking for a manager. There were two tables who ordered after us. One of the tables received their meal and left before we got ours. Actually both did. It wasn’t even very good. I always love the cheesecake; that’s all I will be coming back for. Service is poor

Suprisingly good

Nice garden. The food was above expectations, try Sheppard's pie. I am not really in cheesecakes but all the rest, I tried was delicious

Excellent

The waitress was very helpful and pleasant. The food was delicious with good sized portions. The restaurant is well decorated. Overall a great experience.

Don’t go here unless you wanna wait for hours..

By Bfly82 |

I hate to write a bad review but it’s very needed. We visited the first week of April on a family vacation to Chicago. And decided to hit up the Cheesecake Factory in the 360 building. We had about a 30 min wait till we were seated. And that’s no problem it went pretty fast. But once we got to our table we waited atleast 20 mins to get our drink order in. Then our drinks showed up atleast another 20 mins later without my cocktail. I had to wait another 10 mins for my drink. So a total of 30 mins for my drink to arrive. I let that slide since our waitress was very sweet. And might of been a bit newer. But then we were ready to order it took her atleast another 20 mins to return to take our order. To be honest it was a tiny bit busy but not to a point that we should be forgotten over and over. My family and I finally order our food. And I’m not kidding we waited for atleast 30 mins again. And she brings everyone their food and then tells me I’m sorry we are out of what I had ordered. Ok it would of been nice to of been told earlier so I could of eaten with my family. Instead I had to put in a new order. And she comes back and says “I’m so sorry we are out of that as well.” I became slightly frustrated cause my family was half done with their food and my order still wasn’t taken. I finally found something that was available and it wasn’t really something I wanted unfortunately. It ended up coming 15-20 mins later. We spent hours and hours here. And it costed so much! Nobody offered an extra apology or anything. The only good part was the cheesecake. After my restless kids and crabby hubby and 3+ hours of waiting we decided we won’t be coming back. I realize places are short staffed but I’ve been many places and haven’t had this bad of an experience the whole pandemic and during staff shortages. My advice would be to take on less tables so staff can properly take care of the tables they have.

1 Part Terrible, 3 Parts Excellent

By JOEL C |

The experience was very mixed. I went to catch up with a friend while in town. The cheesecake Factory is usually a good dependable place. I eat at Cheesecake Factories often. My food was excellent. One of the best tasting meals of my vacation. The server was very attentive and pleasant. But we ended up being seated in the upper tier of the restaurant. There was a speaker blaring very loud pounding music directly down at our table. It made the table vibrate and formed rings in our drinks. We could not talk. We complained and the server said they did turn down the music. She said there were alway complaints in this area and especially at this particular table below the speaker. We asked to speak with the manager and he came over when we finished with our meal. He offered to move us to another table, but that was far too late. I was hoarse from shouting the next day. I think it even set off the loud noise alarm on my Apple watch. I understand this is a flaw in the design of the restaurant and not something the management could fix. As we left, it was clear the music was not that loud in other parts of the restaurant. The music was not bad, just the sound level. The service from our server was very good. The food was excellent. But I was disappointed that Mike the manager didn't address the problem quickly. The extremely loud music ruined the meal. While I think you should fix the problem as a health hazard, I suspect not everyone would be as offended by the extremely loud music as I was. You should warn people that this particular area is extremely loud and not sit people who don't like loud music in that area.

Terrible service, not enough staff, ruined birthday

By William L |

They just did not have enough help. Took an hour to get one drink. Server seemed good, but kept telling us bartender was busy. Took too long to get food. Hostess was rude.
