Love everything about this restaurant. We eat at the bar and the bartender is so amazing. He’s friendly and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Love that the food is different from other places.

Great selection on the menu, including many gluten free & vegetarian options. The kitchen accommodated our request to prepare the roasted potatoes without butter. We shared the ceviche and chicken panadera, which was fantastic. I was super excited to actually get to enjoy a dessert since they had a GF & dairy free crème brûlée, which was fabulous. We’ve spent more at Perry’s and left there disappointed in the lack of special diet options. Definitely impressed with Chef’s Table, and we’ll be back.

Absolutely love the vibe😎from the 🎶 to the 🥘 and 👨🍳 Paul! Very personable with his warm greeting! One of my favorites on 🔝 of my list! If your looking for a quite place to find a good salad and enjoy a peaceful meal this is the place!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Tonight's experience was perfect in every sense of the word, from the greeting we received upon our arrival to the exemplary service provided by Courtney, from the mouth-watering Oscar Fillet (topped with lobster and crab) to the amazing Passion Fruit Creme Brulee for dessert. It was a lovely evening, and we'll definitely be back!

Before we ever get on to the subject of food, Chef Paul Friedman is OCD about cleanliness; I dare you to find a cleaner restaurant. The staff are well trained and incredibly courteous. And then the food: the same level of OCD applies to the thought and presentation and final product. As a self confessed food snob, this is the only restaurant that my wife will gladly eat at.

I along with my date was celebrating his 63rd birthday on June 6, 2022. The atmosphere and hospitable service was incredible, as well as the personal greeting from Chef Paul. The Chef and his staff gave an historical, but short account of the evolution of the restaurant. Our waitress, Griselda was very professional and timely with her table checks. I recommend this restaurant for the atmosphere and deliciously prepared food and presentation.

The atmosphere, the hospitality, the food, and the CHEF!!! We had such an Amazing dining experience here everything from start to finish was great. From the drinks, the TCT wings (made you want more) the entrees plus dessert was really good. Chef Paul is so personablei watched him stop by almost every table to ensure his guest were having a great dining experience at it was!!! If you are in the area, make a reservation and enjoy the flavors of S. Africa.

The Chef’s Table is an amazing restaurant. From the moment you enter you know this restaurant is fabulous. The ambiance is just gorgeous and the food is delicious. We always enjoy our meals there. My favorite is Down to the Gulf and Beef Pandurada, but I love all of them. I know you will love it there as well.

Everything about our experience was great. We were celebrating our anniversary and were welcomed with a congratulations upon arrival. Then Emily, our server greeted us with two glasses of champagne at our table. Having never been here before, we went with Chef Paul's recommendation and tried the Charred octopus appetizer, it was delicious! The attention you receive here is awesome. Emily was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations for us. I had the Chicken Florentine, and my husband enjoyed the rib eye. Both were exceptional. We had a side of brussel sprouts, which were super tasty. For dessert we had the sticky toffee with ice cream, there wasn't a bite left to eat!! Will definitely be coming back!

Food was pretty good but the service was so awful it ruined the experience. Like many servers these days she didn't write down our order and we never got the appetizer we ordered. Our server checked on us after we got our salad and volunteered that she would be back to fill our water. The next time we saw her was just after our entree arrived, she again said she would be right back to fill out water glasses. The next time we saw her was about 20 minutes after we finished our entree when she stopped by our table to tell us she would be back shortly to pick up the empty plates. Five minutes later she came back, grabbed the plates and promised to be right back with some water. In the end we went over an hour an half from when our glasses (water and wine) were empty until we finally escaped, never able to obtain a refill. Since it never came, I can't comment on the appetizer, the salad was okay but oversaturated in dressing, the sea bass entree was good if not quite reaching what you might expect for a $56 entree. The executive chef was out chatting up a few of the tables around us but our empty glasses apparently didn't catch his attention either.

This is the best restaurant I have been to in Houston. Everything was absolutely delicious we had the butternut squash ravioli as well as the charred octopus. The octopus is one of the best dishes I've ever had. It was prepared so that the outside was charred but inside was soft. It was the perfect texture. The potatoes that accompanied it were so flavorful, crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. It is a must order dish! The portion size was actually fairly large as well (picture attached). I was impressed. We did have some difficulty in finding this restaurant, which is in a strip mall/Plaza. However we used google maps and it lead us there. There is a vintage park sign above an archway which you have to drive into in order to find the restaurant. We were late and concerned we wouldn't be able to dine, as the restaurant closes at 9pm, and we arrived late at 8:20. But the staff were fantastic and accommodating. We loved the ambiance of the place as well, dimly lit, with soft music. Next time I'm in Houston I will definitely visit again.

Well Well, what can I say the Chef has done it again as always, you must see and taste why this is a MUST for your dining experience.

My wife and I have been going to Chef's Paul's restaurant in the Vintage since Peli Peli opened. We were bummed to hear of its closing. However, we got excited about Chef Paul opening up his own place called "The Chef's Table," and it does not disappoint! It might actually be his best restaurant. This place is top notch from curb appeal, upon entering and being greeted, to being seated, and then the service, food, and drinks are amazing! I highly recommend anyone looking for an excellent dinner date or happy hour experience to go check out Chef Paul's most recent masterpiece! Thank you again Chef Paul for taking care of your clientele.

From the moment you arrive at The Chef’s Table you will notice the decor is like no other. It is a gorgeous restaurant!! The servers are superb. All the entrees are so delicious and created by Chef Paul. Our favorites are Vlees Pastei, and now Charred Octopus for starters. We love the Gumbo and Crown Salad too. Our Favorites are The Portuguese Beef Pendurada , Cape Point Crossing, Rib Eye, Short Stack, Shrimp Scampi and honestly everything we have tried is delicious as well as all the sides and yummy desserts. It is our favorite restaurant ! You will love it.

We have dined at Chefs Table numerous times. Love the food. The staff are all amazing. Chef Paul is awesome. Not only is he the “BEST” chef but he is always concerned with all aspects of the restaurant.

Celebrated a milestone birthday here on a Sunday afternoon with a party of 12. The chef spent a good 10 minutes describing the popular menu items and sharing his culinary journey. Both the food and service were excellent! Looking forward to a return visit to sample more delights.

Unbelievable experience Every.Single.Time! The food, the service, Chef Paul - unmatched ! Highly recommend the South African wine! Must try! My FAVORITE!

You can’t go wrong with a visit to this place!!! The food and service have always been great. This is our go to place for a night out or special occasion!!!

Chef’s Table has great South African food (we love the steaks and desserts), very nice cocktails and a good wine selection. Very nice ambiance and attentive wait staff. And Chef Paul takes the time to greet and talk to guests.

Pretentious atmosphere and service...flavored water, please. Food good but a little pricey. Exception, short rib steak, very good. Will go back and would recommend

excellent food. competitively priced. friends and I are frequent diners at chef's table. you will not be disappointed.

We were delighted to see Chef Paul open The Chef’s Table in the Vintage. Three couples celebrated their anniversaries and it was the perfect evening! Food was delicious, and the desserts were awesome. Drinks from the bar were very tasty, too! This was our second visit since Chef Paul opened and the staff was attentive, friendly and courteous. Great to see you meeting guests and talking at each table Paul!! See you soon!

Wonderful wait staff, loved the bartender; Nelson. This restaurant looks straight from the 1920s and even has smooth jazz on throughout the area. Beautiful patio and wonderful food choices. Chef Paul even came to talk to us personally it felt like home being here.

Husbands and friends surprised me for my 65 birthday last night ! We did the “ Chef’s Table” I’m South African and the food was the best meal I’ve ever eaten . Done a few Chefs Tables cruising but this was beyond words. Got to meet Chef Paul and our wine specialist “ Daniel” was incredible . Got to try Paul’s wine but other countries too. The wine chosen paired so well and expanded our pallets ! Thank you Chef Paul ❤️I will never forget my night and hope to be back soon 🇿🇦❤️🇿🇦🎉

Had high hopes for this restaurant, but was disappointed start to finish. The staff is trained to say “the Chef does this or the Chef recommends this and the best one the Chef’s complimentary water with watermelon, lemon, etc”. After talking with the waitress about the menu some of us changed our minds about what to order. We placed our orders and one person’s appetizer for her entree came out before her salad and one person received a salad they didn’t order. The presentation of one of the appetizers was so ridiculous where the server picked up the person’s spoon and dipped it into her meal and explained the different layers and placed the spoonful on a plate. Very strange. Since it arrived too early, the Chef brought out another fresh one acknowledging the mistake. Two of us had the Greek salad which was nothing special and very little Greek flavor and just not worthy of the price. My calamari was delicious with a lot of it and two dipping sauces. The ginger carrot soup was a hit as was the scallop appetizer, it was only four scallops for $26. When the 4 separate bills came, my wine was in my friend’s bill and her wine was on mine. Rather than deal with the server again, we worked it out between us. These mistakes can happen at any restaurant, but when you are at a restaurant that touts itself as fine dining and so above and beyond quality, this was not acceptable. There are so many better restaurants around at better price points than this one. I will not return to this phony restaurant.

I’ve visited the Chef’s Table multiple times and have gotten delivery from them. I’ve never been disappointed. In fact, I’m always amazed at how the food is so flavorful and well-prepared. The restaurant has a classy yet comfortable atmosphere and the servers are friendly and knowledgeable. I rarely give 5-star reviews but I couldn’t find a reason to give the Chef’s Table anything less.

This was the most scrumptious meal I've had in a very long time. I've never tasted vegan items that were so flavorful. The service and the food was wonderful! I'll definitely be back.

I have been a few times to The Chef's Table and every time I am even more impressed than the time before. The food is a culinary experience beyond description. My favorites are Grilled Prawns and The Diane Sisters. Chef Paul always comes out to the dining room and checks on his customers. He is such a delight. The wait staff is exceptional. We never have to ask for anything. This will continue to be one of my go-to places.

I had the Impala and Prawn. I’ve never had impala before. It was delicious. Tender, medium rare perfection and slightly sweet. My son had the Jerk Snapper which is a whole fried fish served upright on the plate. It was quite the presentation. Stuffed mushrooms and wings for appetizers, steaks and Karoo lamb were all delicious.

Normally I don't write reviews but wanted to on this occasion. Stopped in to grab a quick lunch before my hair salon appointment.....I have been fortunate to dine at numerous excellent restaurants across the world including Michelin starred over the years and this is a gem hidden in Vintage Park, Houston. The grilled chicken herb crusted cobb salad was the best I have ever eaten. The homemade blue cheese dressing was absolutely divine! Complimented with a tanqeray cucumber martini, this was also excellent. Even the melon infused water was so refreshing. Kudos as well to Jane(Jayne?) my server as she was also fantastic. Will be back for sure!

Loved, loved, loved the ambiance and the friendliness and knowledge held by the waitstaff. They smiled the entire time, they checked on us numerous times, they explained the ingredients and methods used in preparing various dishes as well as some history behind each. -My husband loved his steak and wedge salad -My brussel sprouts were the best I have ever had in life!! You must try them. The backyard bbq dish was good but not as good as the brussel sprouts. -My daughter had the chicken curry and neither of us loved it. I will mention that it was our first time ever trying curry so maybe it’s just us and not our cup of tea. I have heard it’s an acquired taste and you either love it or you don’t. We are for now in the don’t live it bunch. My husband however sampled it and enjoyed it which surprised me, as he is very picky and doesn’t usually venture too far. We would visit again but not until we try a few other nice restaurants. We spent $300 including tip for an appetizer, 3 meals, 2 scotch drinks, slice of pie, and a lemonade. Not bad for a nice dinner out.

We knew the chef (Paul) from the former Peli Peli and were anxious to try his new restaurant. We split 3 appetizers and then had the ostrich and a filet mignon for the entrees. We also had the carrot breddie and the brussels sprouts as sides. Try the South African wines (Anura), especially the Bordeaux blends. Everything was fantastic except the carrot breddie which was very bland. An excellent experience all around.

We met with dear friends to catch up and this was the perfect place to do just that. The atmosphere was very cozy and, although we were there for quite awhile, we never felt rushed. Chef Paul is so gracious, his staff is amazing and the food is incredible. This was our first experience at The Chef's Table, but it certainly won't be our last! Chef Paul never disappoints. Make sure to try the couscous. So yummy!

Amazing menu, service, and taste. Beautifully prepared food—flavorful and delicious. This is our second time at The Chef’s Table and it will not be the last! Perfect for celebrating special occasions, but every meal should be a special occasion! Support this restaurant!!! It’s worth it.

Best dining experience ever! Great atmosphere! Chef Paul is so personable! What a charismatic experience! Food is prepared with expertise… it is AMAZING! Malcolm & Cheryl Smith

Small, quaint! Great appetizers, refreshing water. From the texture of the tables. Chef Paul put his heart into this place. Love the choice of music. Great place to dine on any day of the week! You won’t be disappointed. The chef even takes the time to great his guest! One of my to go places.

This was our first time visiting this establishment. The atmosphere was very nice as were the employees. Our waitress was amazing and very informative. The food was the best ever. Everything was a 10.

If ever you need to treat yourself this place is it. Joshua is a server that will provide you with everything you need to have a magical meal. The Chef is a genius in this field. Myself and husband were not disappointed. Everything was amazing

South African food is super underrated! It was the best meal I’ve had at a restaurant in years! I had the ginger carrot soup which I wanted to swim in. I had the vegetarian dish which was Devine! My hubby had the sea bass which was melt in your mouth delicious. The service was impeccable and such a romantic vibe.
Amazing food and atmosphere
I came here with friends to celebrate a birthday and the food was soooooo good. Service was impeccable and friendly. I can't wait to visit again.
