Went for drinks and dessert and enjoyed the unique atmosphere. Very artsy with detailed furniture and interesting items on the walls. I loved the ambiance!

I honestly don’t even know where to begin… I’ve been a Yelp elite for many years now and have only given a 1 star to 1 place EVER! Also I’ve never written a review this extensive so please read it before considering this place. I made this reservation over a month ago. I wanted to try this place so bad. I’m so disappointed ☹️ Our waitress was honestly so wonderful until about 1/2 way into our meal. I guess once I made a complaint our good service ended… She basically ignored us unless I waved a hand at her which I hate doing (it seems so tacky) I ordered the bulgogi dish (it was not apart of their Irish theme obviously) but I was so excited to try it. I received the dish and had 1 bite of it and immediately thought it was awful. I told the waitress I didn’t like it and she took it away. I never had more than that 1 bite. Otherwise everything else was amazing. My husband loved his shepherds pie, the cocktails were great, as well as the dessert. I assume most people would think this way, but after only having one bite of a meal and knowing it was terrible you would assume that you wouldn’t have to pay for it, right? So once the bill arrived and we noticed the bulgogi on it we asked that it was removed since we didn’t eat the dish. She told us the policy was that once a dish had a single bite in it she couldn’t take it off the bill. We were okay with that since it was the business’ policy. We would never hold that against her but we also weren’t happy with it. So my husband asked to speak with the manager. I ended leaving and walked back home to take our dog out. We had our credit card out to pay the entire time BTW. We weren’t ever going to try and skip out on the bill. We just wanted the one item removed. (For Christ sake my husband is a doctor we couldn’t care less about $30 ish dollars. It was the principle of the matter) The rest of this post is going to seem like I made it up or was apart of a movie it’s so bizarre. After about 15 minutes the waitress asked my husband to get up because they needed the table for other guest and had him step to the side. Even though that is super unconventional he did with no complaints and waited next to the bar area. About 5 minutes later someone came up to him and it ended up being the owner of the restaurant. He had an ARMED security guard with him and asked my husband what the problem was. After explaining the situation my husband asked why there was an armed guard with him and the owner said incase it got confrontational!!! Like WTF what kind of business do you have that you have an armed guard and are have so many complaints that you need someone like that. My husband was actually so shocked and honestly slightly scared he thought HE was in trouble. So he ended up paying the bill as it was and left. Can you even imagine being scared at a restaurant you were paying to eat at?? When we got there my husband and I were talking about how we’ll come every 3 months so we can try their new menu (which in general is such a cool concept) since we live walking distance. I’ll never be back ever. We could have hosted so many functions their since it was a beautiful place and has great ambiance but besides that the entire experience left us feeling very uncomfortable and scared. What an awful place and I’ll make sure to tell all of our doctor and dentist friends about this experience so that none of us spend another dime here!

Finally....finally someone opens up an adult romantic intimate space in Midtown. Midtown so deserves it. First thing you notice is the eclectic decor. Some great artwork to enjoy. So you sit down and order some yummy eats. They have a very creative menu and an equally creative chef. Sounds like they told her to do her thing and so she is. Equally cool is the ambiance. I could actually hear my friend speaking. There was great jazz playing but not blaring and a very cozy bar to sit at. This is a first date, second date, anniversary, bring some pals, relaxing place to be. The question is always would I go back. For The Consulate, the answer is a resound YES!!! I can't wait!!!

I thought the concept was creative and most of the food was very good. My problem is with the restaurants policy about returning items ordered that are not prepared properly. One of our dinner guests ordered the soup and it arrived way too salty. When mentioned to the waiter, he said he would check with someone in back and never addressed it again. When asked a second time, he mentioned that it states that food cannot be returned and that he would not credit us for the soup. The restaurant needs to understand that "not liking" something is very different from something not be prepared correctly. I was there the prior week and the same soup was good. There was a clear difference in the salt content when I tasted my friends. If they are to maintain such a policy, they have a responsibility to be consistent in quality. This policy comes across very arrogant and I doubt that I will return.

Last week my family and I had the opportunity to go and experience the Restaurante in Atlanta for dinner. The ambiance is very enticing and unique. They serve international food that appeals to all. We taste the grilled octopus, the dumplings, and the paella. The sponsor country was Turkey. Parking was available and free. Very good overall.

Excellent food. Love how they switch the menu every few months to a different culture of food. Service and vibe was great. Highly recommend in Atlanta.

Excellent cuisine of different savors. The personal was so nice and helpful. We had a very nice evening. I recommend highly if you look for something more original than the eternal burger.

Visited this restaurant with a friend for dinner. It's definitely conveniently located very near the midtown train station on 10th street. We were seated right away and the server was attentive, pleasant and professional. We enjoyed our food and had a pleasant time.

Our server was Marie and she is amazing. She is funny, welcoming, and her recommendations were outstanding. We shared five dishes and they were all incredible. We couldn’t decide on the desserts so we ordered all three and they were delicious. We were then treated to an art tour by one of the bartenders who was also super friendly and provided a great description of all the art pieces throughout the restaurant. We started with The Kings Ransom charcuterie board, then tried the Foza Sy Henakizoa which was an incredible mix of flavors and colors, then had the Korean BBQ Duck Confit which was also superb, followed by the Coral Bay Fish and Chips which were second only to the ones we had in NZ and the last (and best) dish was the Turkish Sili Levrek sea bass which was the best one we’ve ever tried.

I loved the whole experience of this restaurant! The interior is gorgeous, it feels really special. Our waiter informed me that it was curated by a husband/wife duo -- the wife is the head chef and the husband is the interior designer! SO COOL! The food and service were incredible, everything we tried was amazing, and its ever-changing menu means you can you go back again and again! Also, we're vegetarian and sometimes it's hard to find upscale restaurants that have food for us, and this one did. All around a great time!

Very cool venue that has tremendous promise. Cocktails at the bar to begin were delicious. Restaurant server was very good, but the food was just okay. Biggest issue was they were out of a couple of bottles of wine that we wanted, which of course were a couple of the more reasonably priced ones.

The concept was great and the website offered more information about the place along with dining etiquette; so I decided to celebrate my wife birthday there. Our server, Wesley, was excellent! The ambiance was classy with beautiful decoration and awesome plates. Drinks were very nice. As for the food, the beets salad was excellent. Cheese plate was alright. The vegetarian rice noodles dish was tasty but too salty. We ordered extra rice to balance the saltiness out. The prawns curry dish listed with 5 prawns but it came with 8 ex-large shrimps; there is a difference between prawns versus ex-large shrimp; but, it was flavorful. But, the rice that came with this dish was a bit disappointment. I expect much better quality than plain white rice like higher grade of jasmine rice!!! Overall, the description of this beautiful restaurant online was great, but this is only a good place to go and nothing more. Wesley, our server, offered the best experience to accommodate your place. For $250 dining experience without adding tips to it, it was an experience but nothing special to bring us back. I rather see you focus on making a few great dishes then trying to be Jack of all trades by presenting so many dishes from around the world. Great idea but you need to deliver it now, wish you the very best!!!!

Nifty concept changing location of menu specialties every 90 days to a different country. Tonight's Colombian tapas were excellent. Mushroom empanadas and scallops were very good. From standing menu, octopus was phenomenal. Service is attentive. Atmosphere is very cool.

We went here on Saturday night for a birthday dinner, large group of 12. When we arrived I was very surprised to see that we were set up in a private room for our reservation. I would think a room that nice would be for private parties only.. The entire restaurant is nicely decorated, great art work throughout, and the dark colors give it a swanky feel. The room was even more spectacular than the large dining area, we all felt like we were at someone's private home enjoying a great meal. This past weekend they featured Indian cuisine (changes every 3 months). We had the chickpea samosas, tandoori chicken, biryani rice, and the lamb dish. Everything was great!!! The menu also features past dishes from other parts of the world. The grilled octopus, sweet chili okra, and the duck fat fingerling potatoes were a few of my favorites. All dishes are served tapas style so it makes it perfect for sharing, and it gives you a chance to taste as much as you want. The craft cocktails are also worth mentioning.. Pairing flavors that you wouldn't normally think of putting together makes for some interesting outcomes. Try this place with a group of friends, or even perfect for a exciting date night. Parking is tricky, but there is a garage attached to the building, and they validate. And, our waitress, Alia, was just perfect! I recommend giving this place a try. Enjoy!

Overall my wife and I had an enjoyable meal and experience. The Chilean seabass and Babamir beef stew were delicious but portions were small despite costing $42 each, we expected more for the price. All 3 appetizers we ordered were yummy especially the duck confit. Persian love cake was good choice for dessert. The decor of the restaurant is romantic and eclectic while the 90 day rotating international menu is great. The server seemed disinterested at times and that was disappointing. We hoped for a little more but The Consulate was a nice experience and we recommend it.

Great food and service. Was a bit noisy, but not so much wheras you couldn't enjoy yourself and guest. Our server was knowledgeable with excellent food and drink recommendations. My second time dining here and the food and cocktails ate quite impressive in flavor and visuals. I will definitely return. Great for dates, groups and happy hour. Just make sure you have reservations as this placrs stays busy!

We came in with friends who had been to your restaurant before and really loved the specialty cocktails!! They did not disappoint !! Had a friend in from DC so wanted to take her to someplace unique with great food! We ordered lots of the Tapas plates which our server Mike excellently described in detail and we made all of are selections on his recommendations!! He was so personable and really made us want to come back.We booked for the Spin the Globe night as he made it sound like lots of FUN!! Can't wait to bring new friends to this restaurant

I was very impressed with the decor and atmosphere. The cocktails are top notch. I know our waiter was trying to be helpful by guiding us through the menu and making suggestions, but he ended up being a little pushy. Service was good. My scallops came out cold. I ordered the Lumpia and was not asked if I wanted pork or vegetable so I got two of each. I would have preferred to only have pork but whatever. We were informed by management that the delay on our last course was due to kitchen staffing. We were compensated and I appreciate your honesty but it still put a damper on the evening. We ended up being there for 3 hours. When we were ready to go there were discrepancies with the discounts and the checks. Took forever.

We went to The Consulate for dinner and had a lovely time. The food was very good and the menu was varied. The only dish we were less than thrilled with was the "the king's ransom" charcuterie plate. It had some good cheese but the meats seemed more like deli meat than premium ham. It would be better with less quantity and served on a nice board rather than piled up on a big plate. The burger was amazing though and I would have that again any time. The staff was very pleasant and professional and Douglas did a beautiful job on the decor as expected. It was a beautiful and very comfortable space and we look forward to going back.

I went to the Consulate for the first time last night to try it out. Nice location and validated free parking! The atmosphere is warm and inviting with lots of interesting art on the walls. Our waitress was very well meaning, but VERY inexperienced (this seemed to be a theme throughout the restaurant). We wanted cocktails to start. . .No Bombay Sapphire gin, "okay, how about Tanqueray?" No, sorry, we don't carry that either. . ."well then whatever kind of gin you have." Next person to order wanted a Campari with soda. . ."We don't have that, we tend to carry more non-US alcohol." We didn't have the heart to tell her Campari is Italian. With cocktails finally chosen and delivered, we got on to the business of dinner (someone should proofread the menu). After asking the waitress' advice and learning that Swordfish is fish and Beef Stroganoff is beef, I had the Reuben eggrolls and then the Beef Stroganoff. Both were certainly good, but not anything extraordinary. All in all just OK. The waitstaff can either make or break a restaurant, particularly an upscale restaurant. We won't be back soon.

A welcome change from all the sports bars and beer joints that are infesting midtown. This place has great atmosphere delicious food and great cocktails. A place you can dress up for. There is free parking around the corner. This place is hard to find, not on the street. Across from the Marta station but no sign on the street. Small and cozy.

I came across this restaurant when I was searching on open table for a place to eat in midtown. The consulate came up and where it states the cuisine type, it said “global.” That intrigued me right away. I came to learn that this restaurant is on a 90 day international rotation. So starting in October, the restaurant was featuring an authentic Venezuelan menu. It was phenomenal! I highly recommend the pollo tequila lima and the black bean empanadas. They have other food items specific to other counties as well such as the lamb tibs (Ethiopian) and sautéed green beans (China). Both were excellent. The decor is outstanding too, creating an awesome, laid back environment. This is one of the better restaurants Atlanta has to offer. Don’t miss out!

had the eggplant burger and the okra dish, both were great and filling as well, must visit place next to the marta station

I've ate here a few times now and every time I come back I hope for better. I simply love the decor as I understand one of the owners used to be an art dealer - its decorated very beautifully, I just wished the food and service matched the decor. I've come to find that there is always an issue with the host stand even when I make a reservation seems like there is a lot of confusion even on a slow night. During my last visit I came alone hoping to sit at the bar. To my surprise the bar was packed on a Monday night but I was informed that there was a large party waiting to be sat and if I just hung out for a few minutes they would clear out..... 15 minutes later and it seemed like their party was not about to move anytime soon as people were still trickling in. I walked to the host and asked if the party would be sat soon and she responded with "I think they should be closing their bar tab soon." (THEY WERE VISIBLY STILL ORDERING DRINKS) I asked to be sat at a table since there was no way I could have possibly pushed through the crowd to even get a drink at the bar while I waited. She seemed pretty hesitant and confused. She said I could not be seated until my party was complete (I WAS CLEARLY ALONE). I explained that I was eating solo and she still seemed hesitant to seat me - a server comes by and assists her (apparently it takes a village). Doesn't stop there - as soon as I sat down she double seated my server. The couple next to me were clearly on a date and our server seemed to be swamped. Do you understand how awkward it is to be greeted by your server at the same time as the table next to you - it felt like I was an unwanted 3rd wheel to their date. To top things off it was their first time eating here so yes - they'll want a full spiel on the menu/restaurant. I on the other hand just wanted to order my food and get on with my life (hence wanting to sit at the bar area). My server was extremely knowledgable and enthusiastic and it seemed like he was trying to make the best out of a horrible situation - he also seemed overworked due to lack of staff. ALL could have been avoided if the hostess was experienced and knowledgable (or actually cared). As far as the food goes - I have been disappointed every time I've tried the passport side of the menu. They try hard but always fall short of hitting the target. I've come to find that the Diplomat burger is pretty much the most amazing thing on the menu. The burger totally made up for all other shortcomings as the truffle aioli and smoked gouda tie everything together. Cocktails fun and delicious but pricey and the wine is reasonably priced - I understand the wine list also changes according to season. If you're looking for a swanky place to enjoy a craft cocktail and a burger - this is the place for you but if you're looking to have a phenomenal international dining experience this falls short of the mark.

This place has a great interior design. Let's talk about the wait staff, very help, enjoys what they do! It show on how responsive they are to each customer. Hiram was our server and he made great beer selections and wine selections for us. Tapas and drinks. The King's ransom platter is plentiful. A very nice selections of cheeses, meats, olives, pickles, nuts, crackers, grapes and caviar.

After reading the most recent review, I was hesitant to try this place-but I attempted to give it the benefit of the doubt. I'll never do that again! The decor-ehh, the drinks-ok...but hey its alcohol....the food-flavorless--the service-mediocre...the overall experience....Simply Not Worth It! My advice-try the asian fusion place at 510 Piedmont -if you want an intriging atmosphere, amazing and tasteful food, genuinely nice, attentive, and pleasant service..and an excellent overall experience!! I think the physician was right with his diagnosis and your prognosis!

My husband and I consider The Consulate probably our favorite restaurant in Atlanta. The food is outstanding. We make a point of always dining on Spin Night. Our restaurant ‘routine’ consists of getting to the restaurant about 30-45 mins before our reservation so we can sit at the bar to have a drink or 2 before dinner. On the past 2 visits to The Consulate we’ve been disappointed by the bar experience. Last time we were there, the head bar man was rude to my husband who served him an apple cider after my husband ordered a beer! After this error was brought to the bar man’s attention, he still charged my husband for the apple cider after his mistake was called out! So my husband had to pay for an apple cider that he never ordered or even drank as well as the beer he eventually got! Then this recent visit I ordered a cosmopolitan cocktail and it was awful. It was made by the lady behind the bar and was not drinkable. It didn’t taste like a cosmo and had a very acidic unpleasant taste. I brought this to her attention and she asked exactly what my problem was with it. I found her manner quite rude but explained the problem. I then ordered a mixed drink in place of it and was informed that the manager told her she wasn’t allowed to comp drinks and I had to pay for the mixed drink as well as the cosmo. In a place of this standard, I would have expected a different outcome. Quite disappointed in this attitude. My husband has now suggested we go for a drink somewhere else before we dine there in the future.

Simply put- the food is subpar- At Best! If you are a foodie - you’ll be greatly disappointed.! The service mediocre. Management- obnoxious - I spoke with the manager on duty on Aug 09, 2023 -9pm-regarding the food (all three dishes) - he became so defensive it was concerning. He went on to say “our policy here is that we don’t offer refunds for items”. Well,,, the good thing is that I wasn’t asking for a refund on anything…. I simply wanted to share that the lamb chops were grossly overcooked, the rice dish (was edible-lacked flavor)… and the egg rolls were ….not even ok…. And served with a pickle- in an attempt to confuse your taste buds into thinking they were ok…. Lol He went on to say in a boastful and sarcastic way- “we’ve been open for 7 years”…… well, you won’t be open for 7 more. Bottom line - you can put as many things on the walls as you like…. Change the ambience with dimly lit lighting…. Play lounge music all night long…. But it’s the FOOD, SERVICE, and total experience-under the leadership of good management that ensures success in the restaurant industry. Not to mention- in my opinion-all eating establishments were gratuity is included should highlight this (verbally) in addition to having it displayed on their checks. I initially had high hopes for the Consulate, but I was truly disappointed- to the point where I actually took the time to write a review about my experience. Foodies, Trust me on this one- take your tastebuds and your money elsewhere !

Can’t say enough about the okra! It was amazing and our server was superb. Ambiance was also super dope!

This spot definately impressed my group of 20! Each item on the menu we ordered was delicious and exciting. The ambiance and service was wonderful. My steak was cooked to my preference. I can't wait to go again!

We tried The Consulate Saturday night and should have known the minute we walked in the door at 7:45 that there was a reason the place was so empty. The service was very poor, the drinks tiny and expensive. When our martini's arrived in these thimble sized glasses I commented that I had never seen such a small glass. The waiter instantly replied "is a standard 3oz. pour" so he has obviously heard my comment from many other people. The hamburger was tasty but came all by itself on a bread plate sized dish, naked. Poor presentation, no fries, no pickle, nothing! You can't even order fries. Not on the menu. We also had the "Moscow Stroganoff" which was served in a soup bowl and couldn't have had more than 1 oz. of beef in it. Then our waiter disappeared. After waiting more than 20 minutes for our check we asked for the manager and were told that he was out that night. The OWNER is not managing his own restaurant! I doubt this restaurant will last through the end of the year.

Booked well in advance and for a friend’s birthday was then called 2 days prior to the date to be told the table had been cancelled because of a corporate booking. Please do not patronise this restaurant as this type of behaviour is unacceptable. I have been to the Consulate before and it is OK.... just OK.... but not worth it for this type of treatment. This restaurant has no parking or valet service by the way and is an awkward spot on Midtown if you are driving.

We absolutely love the concept of The Consulate and were not disappointed when we got to try it! We had reservations and were seated right away. Our server, Cindy was super attentive and friendly. She was knowledgable about the menu and did a good job of telling us about the various menu items. My husband and I split 5 small plates and it was more than enough. Everything we had was really good – even the pickles were delicious! The featured menu was Ireland, so we tried the Munster Mini's, which were delicious The Ethiopian Lamb Tibs were very flavorful and the Havana Egg Rolls were awesome. The Jolloff Rice was also good and definitely on the spicy side (our server warned us!). We loved the ambience and decor! Very unique dining experience and we can't wait to go back!

My husband and I stumbled upon The Consulate on our recent weekend trip to Atlanta. We could not have been happier with our experience! As other patrons have noted, the décor and ambiance is unmatched. Our server, Sunshine, lived up to his name; he was helpful, personable, lovely in every way. Our favorites were the dry sautéed okra, the Brussels sprouts, and the open-faced smoked salmon sandwich, but we didn't have a single bad dish, and we tried seven dishes. My husband had an Old Fashioned that he said was the best he's ever tried! The only negative, which was our fault entirely, was that we were quite under dressed, but the environment was such that we didn't feel like anyone was glaring at our mistake. We'd simply take some nicer duds next time. I can't recommend The consulate enough!

Went with a group of friends recently, and would not go back. While the place is decorated beautifully, that is where the good experience stops. 1) the food was not good. They marked items are vegetarian which are clearly not…vegetarian marked salad item which had bacon in it. An appetizer which had worcestshire sauce which often has anchovies. Everyone left hungry and we went to get a second dinner. Not really acceptable considering the hype and cost. 2)when I brought this up to the mgmt team I got an email quite rudely that the bacon garnish “could be taken OUT” . Not really the point, a non-veg dish was marked as vegetarian. 3) the guns decoration in the bathroom seemed out of place and too intense for the place. 4) while the had French press coffee, seems like a restaurant they would have cappuccino and espresso, they did not which was strange. I would not recommend the restaurant .

My fiancee and I were excited to impress three important guests. I researched for a sexy restaurant with amazing food. The Consulate appeared to be an obvious choice for Midtown. I made a reservation for 5 people at 8:00 PM. I arrived at 8:15 PM. My guests arrived earlier in timely fashion. At 8:45 PM, we were still waiting in the lounge to be seated. We were then offered complimentary drinks for the inconvenience after receiving a confused, exasperated response by the host. The host explained that another party overstayed their welcome. We were seated at 8:47 PM for our 8:00 PM reservation. My party of 5 was squeezed into a circular booth which should only be offered to a maximum number of 4 people. Moreover, the table was entirely too small to accommodate a tapas style menu. For example, my guest to the left attempted to return her glass of wine to the table. She unknowingly placed the glass on the tip of my fork. Consequently, the wine spilled onto the table and my fiancee's white top. This incident may have been avoided with a table of the appropriate size. I asked a representative of the ownership team about the seating choice. He responded that the table was an appropriate size for our party of 5 while it was obvious that our plates and glasses would not fit on the table. Summary: 1) The host was patient. He listened to our concerns with grace. 2) Our waitress was wonderful. She was knowledgeable, efficient and accommodating. She made our experience tolerable in spite the multiple mishaps. 3) The food was excellent. I am impressed that the chef is able to execute these dishes at this level while changing cuisines every 90 days. 4) I would avoid busy days such as Friday and Saturday. 5) If you have guests to impress, avoid this restaurant. Service quality is too unpredictable to chance on an important meeting. Come for the food and ambiance only.

If you liked tapas this is the place for you. Even the entrees are small plates. The service is good and the food is delicious

First time here and I only live a block away. In my opinion, the owners have done a poor job marketing and making their place known, especially considering that they are sitting in the middle of one of the densest populated areas of the city. I was really wowed by the decor - they have done a fantastic job decorating this place! I was overwhelmed with the drink prices (and pours) - least expensive white wine was $14 and the pour was pathetically light. They advertise their "handcrafted" cocktails, but then, I've never seen cocktails comes out of a tap - aren't all drinks "handcrafted"? One of my dining partners had martini - thimble sized martini glass and expensive. My suggestion is that they offer an $8 glass of wine, even if it comes out of a box under the bar. The menu is odd and I really struggled to find anything that I wanted. My fellow diners ordered the duck fat frites with their plates - the frites were limp and soggy and without any taste whatsoever - both of them left them uneaten except for a couple pieces. I ordered a side of the dry sautéed okra - nice and crunchy but again, very little flavor. Or other plates were all well presented, but lacked in deliciousness. While polite, our server was inattentive and slow. We could rarely find him. Unfortunately I don't see myself returning for a second visit. Sad, especially since from a decor perspective, this is probably one of the coolest restaurant spaces in the city.

Food was just OK. We were a bit disappointed with service. We gave our credit card to the server before getting the check and when he brought the CC receipts for signature he didn’t bring the detailed check which was strange. We asked for it and the check included an 18% service fee. We were about to pay a tip before knowing that one was already being charged so we felt deceived. This is not what we expect from a reputable place. This is not good service. Needless to say we’re not going back. We received a feisty and untrue reply back from the manager to our review we left in Open Table so here’s our reply to that aswell: We were not in a hurry; we just wanted to go ahead and pay. The service fee was explained to my husband after asking for the detailed check and questioning the fee. If we didn’t ask for the check (which we did to make sure the drink at the bar was included) we would’ve never found out about the service fee and paid it twice. In fact, if you look at the signed voucher you would see that we had to strike out the tip that we had originally left. The comped drink was because I asked if a cocktail (second death) was sweet and the barman said it wasn’t so I ordered it (I told him I don’t like sweet cocktails). It was extremely sweet and when I told him so he asked if I wanted to exchange it for another which I did. This by the way is standard when you don’t like a drink the bar man recommends; at least in reputable places. We were regulars but will definitely won’t be back. A reminder for your team: Rule #1 in hospitality is that the customer is always right.

Went to the Consulate in May with friends. Service was wonderful. Jackson was our wine director and he was fantastic. Sponsored country was Spain. We tried about 6-7 different tapas and all were delicious. Wine selection was amazing. Jackson did a great job of finding the perfect wines for our table. Every 3 months they change half of their menu to represent a new country. So you have something new every 3 months.

I visited this location on December 4, 2020 & I found it necessary to post my experience. I relocated to Atlanta, GA the day before, from Midtown Manhattan, NY. My cohorts know I enjoy the eclectic dining experiences you can find in New York, so they suggested this restaurant; not to mention one of them resides in the building connected to the restaurant and dines there often. My experience was out of this world!! I loved the decor and the history behind the food, how often the menu changes, how they normally celebrate the menu changes, history of the owners & chefs, etc.. I know of all this because of my outstanding server Mariah!! She was full of information, fun, & professional... not too talkative or intrusive. I was fascinated to learn everything because she was so descriptive & passionate as she provided imagery on everything!! We went with her suggestions for beverages, appetizers, & entrees.. everything was phenomenal....and the presentation, so superb. I ordered a different beverage each time but the last time I wanted something other than the cocktails on the menu. She suggested a cordial with a Port Wine ice cube.... whew!!! knocked it out of the park!!! Thank you Consulate & thank you Mariah for creating an amazing experience for this new Georgian. I shall return!!

Highly recommend this restaurant. Every 90 days the menu changes. I got in on Spain and had paella. Excellent food and experience. The owner Doug came over and chatted with us.

Every month your pallette will discover a new country. This month it is Denmark. As much as I wanted to take a taste of that country, some of their recurring attractions- some Brazilian tapas that were SOOOOO good, caught my eye and made it into my belly. We also added an order of okra. Paired with craft cocktails, it was the perfect compliment - I had a Ryu Sasakura, a reconstructed Japanese cocktail fully complete with your mixologist "torching" your drink. The wonderful thing about The Consulate is that this is a place meant for you to sit back, enjoy your company and savor life. Everything is made from the time you order. If you are looking for fast food, this isn't it. And, that, is a beautiful thing. The decor is a party for your eyes as art, nods to moments in history, and rich hues of navy, gold, and every other color surround you. The staff is incredible. They were so personable and gracious. Midtown Atlanta needed this. As the city core grows even more into a global metropolis, The Consulate, will be one of those places that acts as a gateway to all that visit. I may sound nostalgic but that is because I truly enjoyed myself. I felt comfortable and satisfied and can't wait to bring my husband out. Whether you live in Atlanta or just visting, add this to your list. You will not be dissapointed and you will feel your world open a smidget more. ✌

Great eclectic atmosphere for our family dinner - drinks were great and food (Mexico session) was really flavorful and delicious! Definitely will return and take in other country menus!

When another couple asked for a recommendation for new spot to go for dinner, we thought The Consulate would be a great choice. On our other visit we really liked the vibe, the food was delicious, plus sharing tapas would give us lots to choose from. The special country that half the menu would focus on was Zambia. I have never been, so I had no idea about the cuisine and was excited to try. We were a little concerned about the spiciness of the Zambian cuisine, but there was zero to worry about, it was more about flavors than spiciness. We ordered a few items from the Zambia side of the menu and some from the regular. The Cucumber Mango Salad ($12) included red onion, cilantro, baby spinach, cherry tomato, cumin, cinnamon, peanuts, clove, sprinkled with lime juice. This refreshing dish boasted both tangy and flavorful components and would have been much better with riper and sweeter mangoes. Given the under-ripeness of the main ingredient I can only rate this a 7. The Sauteed Chinese Eggplant ($10) was served with red pepper, basil, garlic in a ginger sauce. The eggplant was ultra-soft from the sautée, while the red pepper strips were firm and crisp. I really liked the combination with the ginger sauce. I rate this dish an 8. The Piri Piri Roasted Cauliflower ($12) was a simple head of cauliflower sprinkled with smoke paprika, rosemary, garlic and oil. You take a knife and cut into sections and enjoy. This was our favorite of the appetizers with the crispiness of the stalks and the pungent toppings. I give this a 9 We moved to the larger plates and we ordered a few. Unfortunately, several were not in the same league as the smaller plates. My favorite was the Korean Pulled Duck Confit ($17), which was served a la tartare in a cylindrical shaped mound with a few crostinis. It included slowly cooked pork with chunks of butternut squash, dried cranberries, garlic, scallions, encased in a Korean bbq sauce. The flavors were incredibly rich and I would order again. One person at the table thought the sauce was a little too sweet. I rate this dish a 9. The dish from Zambia we ordered was Zambezi Chicken Cutlet ($14) served with crushed peanuts and topped with an African Groundnut sauce. This was a basic breaded cutlet with a little sauce on top. I was underwhelmed by the dish but the sauce was interesting for a 6. The only two dishes were really not to my liking. The Char Siu BBQ Pork ($12) was oven roasted, with five-spice powder and served with a dark honey glaze. This dish should not have left the kitchen. There was so much fat and sinew in our pieces, it was either a big seller and we received the left-overs or the kitchen did not notice the poor slices. The sauce was delicious though and I will give it a 3 for the sauce. The other non-recommended dish is the Pan Fried Shrimp Dumplings ($11) stuffed with both Chinese Black Fungus Wood Ear and Shiitake mushrooms, water chestnuts, carrots, celery, ginger and served with a sauce. The highlight of the dish was the wrappers, which were excellent, but the stuffing was tasteless and was screaming for an identity. I also rate this a 3. After reading other reviews we expected, found and accepted, and will confirm we experienced many during our visit. We were 20 minutes late getting seated and the hostess was not transparent in her assessments. The service during the meal was incredibly slow, with long pauses before we started and at several intervals. Our server, though, was very good, she knew the menu inside-out, made recommendations and checked in often, as did the manager. We will definitely return to the Consulate, we loved the vibe and most of the food.

One step into the Consulate and you hope to be transported into a new country and culture. We visited Colombia and if lousy service is Colombian the Consulate nailed it. The bartender in one short phrase SHOULD FIND ANOTHER GIG!!! Slow doesn’t even begin to describe the ineptitude. This poor character couldn’t manage the craft cocktail orders. We waited a simple vodka soda, glass of wine, Moscow mule and it took forever. Guidance is order your next drink when you get the 1st. We ordered bottle of wine to preempt the delay. And then the absolute NERVE to add 20% gratuity. Buyer beware!!! Our server was sweet but also slow perhaps continuing with the theme. Food was so so. Nothing was amazing — unfortunately. If you are hungry make sure you order enough or you will be devouring a basket of saltines at the Steamhouse Lounge with the lovely Rebecca during your nightcap. But not the Consulate. Second time here. Will think thrice before coming for a third.

The restaurant is basednon a very interesting concept, every 3 months a random guest spins the globe and the country selected will be the cuisine of the following 3 months. Some of the dishes are "resident" meaning fixed. The food is very good, mainly tapas style. The duck confit was to die for. We had to wait a while for the food, but super worth it. The decore of the place is also very nice, with paintings, globes, international type of pieces. We enjoyed our dinner a lot.

This restaurant has a rotating menu focusing on regional cuisines, which means there will always be new things to try. I was impressed with the food and thought it was good value for the money. They also have vegetarian offerings, which was nice to see. Drinks were a little pricey but inventive. The space is really cool and the place is steps from the Midtown Marta stop. I will definitely come back.

The food at The Consulate did not impress my wife and I. The Brașov Mici was dry and lacked flavor. The Bucharest Medallions were fine, but basically boring. The Nuuk Chops were also acceptable, but nowhere near as interesting as the description. At the prices they charge, I had much higher expectations.

S several people have said, this space is eclectic and inspired; yet when the food & beverages hit the table you can't help but say "??!??" And to qualify that I will admit that with a single exception every plate and beverage that was served was amazing and presented in a very professional way. It's simply the fact that by saying you are a 'tapas' inspired restaurant, it does not provide a license to put a 'sample' of food and not only charge what you do but claim its appropriate. I've been to Spain and tapas means you can not only taste but enjoy more than a mouth full. The octopus was a single tentacle, the shrimp/mushroom empanada was 3 gentle fork portions (two if you were not with your girlfriend) So you can see my point. Tapas is about sharing and enjoying food not providing a tasting menu.

Nice date night spot. The menu is international and changes every 90 days. For the rest of April and all of May, the menu is Indian fare. Starting July 1st, the menu will change to another International fare. This includes the end-to-end menu..appetizers, salads, entrees, cocktails/drink menu, and desserts. Meal We ordered Chickpea Samosas with Tamarind Mango Chutney, Vegetable Biryani, and Roti. The Roti, Chickpea Samosas, and the Tamarind Mango Chutney were ok. The Vegetable Biryani was delicious! Drinks The wine and beer selection was pretty good. Parking There is a paid parking lot nearby and it is right next to the Midtown Marta stop. Perfect location to meet friends.

Visiting friends in Atlanta Midtown and walked a short distance from their condo to a wonderful cocktail bar/restaurant nearby. There are so many good things to say about this bar, the first being that it’s NOT a sports bar with TV’s everywhere. This is a bar designed for relaxed conversation around “old school” cocktails (think ‘Old Fashioned’, ‘Manhattan’, ‘Gimlet’, etc.) crafted by skilled and, most importantly, knowledgeable bartenders. On the menu you’ll also find new approaches to traditional cocktails. The bar/restaurant is divided into several beautifully designed and artfully decorated areas that allow and encourage a sense of privacy for your party. While you’re there, don’t be surprised if the owner (who also designed and decorated the space) stops by your table and introduces himself and his wife (who is also the chef). But, by all means, make reservations and allow yourself enough time to enjoy your surroundings, conversation with your companions and to savor one of the best cocktails Atlanta has to offer.

Just joined you for dinner last night with friends and we thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Consulate! Sensational all the way around. We loved the suggested Hungarian Kiralyudvar wine that was suggested by your superior bartender. I will order that again. The tapas we selected were not the usual fare and were highly praised by our group. From the expat (eggplant) slider to the octopus to Cuban inspired egg roll we were blown away. Also enjoyable were the brussel sprouts and the yona ribs. We liked the ice cream so much we placed another order for the salted caramel delight. If that were not enough, we had a wonderful and attentive server Chris with his 1890's inspired gentlemanly mustache we all felt that the evening was a success and we all plan to return. By the way, the decor and lighting were THE BEST! Many thank you's Julie

Really enjoyed the artisanal cocktails that are on offer. The lead bartender - mixologist - Mike will really wow you with a varied, with both simple and complex cocktail menu. He expertly combines many different ingredients beyond just spirits that will not disappoint. The food is a tapas style menu that offers a rotating country, i.e. Danish currently, themed menu that changes several times a year. Definitely try some of the items that you may not typically order to add to the international culinary experience that is on offer.

Had reservations at 6:30 pm on a Saturday night. Wife and I were just stopping in for some drinks and appetizers because we had dinner reservations later that night at 9:15 pm. Service was very fast. Drinks were very well made - stronger than most restaurants serve. The setting is very cool. There's only one thing I didn't like. When the bill came, it was about $125 so I left about 20% tip, bringing the total to $150. When I left, I realized that the bill already included a 20% gratuity. If I had known that, I wouldn't have left an additional $25 on top of that. $45 on a $100 bill? That's a 45% tip! I understand some places automatically add on a gratuity if you have a large group but it was just the two of us. FYI - We went to Atlas for dinner that night. That place is more expensive and they don't even add the 20% gratuity automatically.

Really great dinner in a well executed "theme" restaurant. Menu changes every 90 days featuring a different part of the world while keeping best sellers from pervious menus. The plates are basically tapas size to served 2 or possibly 4 - so we made adjustments for a party of 5. Interesting cocktails but a very short wine list - focus here is definitely the food. Service got a little slow as the night progressed and our waiter was definitely impressed with himself - with little justification. Will probably go back when they do the next region. Oh and there is a 2.5 hour limit on dinner. Again pretentious.

My friend and I had a delightful evening at The Consulate. The tapas menu is vegetarian-friendly and the cocktails creative and tasty. Our server, Mariah, offered sound guidance on all aspects of the menu. The pacing was very pleasant and we stayed for three hours on a Friday night without being rushed. Don't miss the arepas while Venezuela is featured and the Moroccan Sunset was the cocktail hit.

We chose the patio. Rain brought the owner to your side. He regaled us with The Consulate's history, art saw and James Bond theme. Meanwhile staff moved us to a private room. We interacted within several staff. All were perfectly attentive, knowledgeable and equally personable as professional. Our service was exemplary! Both atmosphere and staff were vibrant. Decor is reto cozy chic. You might detect Bond film songs subtly playing in the background. Food IS absolutely delicious. Portions are a normal healthy size. We loved the menu and its rotation every 3 months. So much so, two thirds of our group ordered two entres. All were v e r y pleased. I'm hooked & have a new "go to" restaurant. Make reservations. See you soon and again following September's globe spin (next menu rotation).

Sensory delight! Elegant atmosphere, attentive staff. We recently hosted a group of 15 for a big birthday. The staff was very helpful in selecting drinks and appetizers. Their cocktails are an art form. All was enjoyed in an elegant setting. Definitely recommend for a special occasion!

It was late, we were starving, we needed a place to eat that we could walk to asap. We knew nothing about this place other than that it has good reviews on Yelp. Imagine our surprise when we find out that they do special menus from all over the world for limited times. We got to sample their Cuban fare as well as their restaurant staples and everything was stellar. We recommend the Moscow Stroganoff and the duck fat potatoes. OMG, I'm getting hungry again just thinking about them. And we're planning on coming back as much as possible when the menu changes. If a place can nail Cuban food, Russian food, AND serve me duck fat fries... they can do no wrong in my book!

Very handsome room with nice banquettes as one of the seating choices. Very able staff and the chef and the chef''s husband make you feel welcome and informed. They spin their globe every three months and wherever it lands is the new national food of the month. ( Next one coming up is Australia). The chef is from China and a sweet woman with real talent. Interesting spices and everything perfectly cooked. We loved the bread ( Musha- not quite sure of the name) but it was almost like a potato pancake except much better with herbs and scallions and spinach. I could make a guilty meal of that bread! Our steaks though were perfectly cooked with a delicious garlic sauce and potato fingerlinks soaked in some butter and garlic- beyond delicious. Our friend's chicken was also very good ( although it had an unexpected hot kick to it). Mango salad was intriguing- I liked it but it had a tangy dressing that I am still undecided about- and the coffee cheesecake was fantastic. My glass of wine was a very big pour and fine. Just loved this place!

Went there with my adult daughter when we had an evening in Atlanta. The decor and ambiance is eclectic and inviting. Relaxing vibe, rotating menu for both food and drinks. We went during Cuba, but ended up having a holdover plate from Brazil. We had coxinhas with a twist! They were amazing and were stuffed with curried chicken and served with sweet chili sauce. We would definitely go back as the menu was loaded with wonderful sounding food and drinks!

My wife and I are visiting Atlanta, and found this restaurant online, which was very close to our hotel. We made reservations for a Friday and were promptly seated. While the room wasn't packed, it did seem pretty active. The concept of rotating the menu among a variety of many different cuisines, while maintaining a basic core of items, is very interesting, They are now into dishes from Guam. I do not often have mixed drinks with dinner, but I did decide to because the offerings were interesting. I do not remember the name of the drink I had, but it was basically Vodka and Gin with a Lemon Oil for flavoring. It was very tasty, and not overly sweet, which is the objection I have to most mixed drinks with dinner. The drink prices seemed a bit higher than what I see generally, but while the drink came in a rather small glass, I was given a second glass with nearly an equal amount which I was told gave me a standard 3oz serving. As for the food, we shared the Eggplant Cheese Dip with White Corn Chips. It was excellent, with very subtile spices and just a hint of heat. My wife had the Moscow Stroganoff and was very pleased, My selection was the Yona Ribs which were delicately spiced and quite flavorful as was the chammoro red rice. Portions were large enough that we had leftovers. The room itself is quite impressive and eclectically decorated, much like the menu. Service was very attentive and prompt. Prices were well in line with what I have come to expect in similar restaurants. And, the owner came by at the end of the meal to inquire how we fared, and we had a rather nice conversation. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Went for a business dinner and it was an outstanding experience. The menu offers options from different countries. We were unsure of what to order and with me being vegan our waiter offered to assemble several courses for us that would allow us to experience the menu. We were so glad we did as every item was outstanding. They have great drinks too. This is a very cool dining option.

This place presents a unique dining experience. The room is spacious and sophisticated and eclectic with large booths spaced to allow real conversation while dining. They allow 21/2 hours which is more like dining in France. And then the food… original, unique both by featured country of a 3 month stay or its staple of good food. Service could not have been better. Parking easy. Phillip and Ling have created the perfect place to join friends for a lovely evening

The Consulate is always a dining destination for me when visiting Atlanta because of the ever-changing international menu. I've enjoyed menus from Romania, Ivory Coast, Ireland, and several other regions. The cozy "James Bond-esque" interior makes it for a very comfortable atmosphere that's perfect for a dinner with friends, date night, or business meeting.

Very nice decor ,a bit too dark but elegant Mediocre food Extremely slow Bad service What could have been a pleasant experience turned out to be a very negative one. The acoustics are bad ,impossible to have a conversation, the wines are ridiculously overpriced ,the Martinis had to be sent back a waiter that is acting as he's doing you the great favor of being your server e.g. Q: can we have some bread while we wait? A: no really, but let me see what I can do

Was really excited to take friends from out of town to the Consulate last night. I had been there before twice. The service previously was not up to par, but the atmosphere is so cool, I thought I would give it another try. The atmosphere is still very cool. Very James Bondish. And my guests did enjoy the food when it finally arrived. However it took a very long time for each dish to arrive and my friends were disappointed in the level of attention of service to our table. With a tapas restaurant especially, you need additional attention as the dishes tend to be consumed quickly. This restaurant really needs additional waitstaff to give the level of superior service that is expected from this type of restaurant. I hate to say it, but this will probably be my last time at this restaurant.

What a food adventure! We ordered appetizers from all over the world to include the KauKau from the Pappa New Guinea feature menu. I had the black truffle bulgogi, per the waitress’s recommendation as her favorite dish. I soon realized the reason. The desserts (we shared one of each) were flavorful & unique. I enjoyed the signature cocktail, Moroccan Sunset, as well as the PNG 76. Both were tasty. This was truly a culture culinary experience!

What I’m comparing it against: fine-dining places in mid-market, mid-size cities. Vibe: The interior is as “Instagram-friendly” of an interior as you’ll see in any building…truly beautiful inside. Medium-sized, but with various compartments (and even at least one private room) that add to the intimacy. Music seemed a mix of both domestic and international ambient-type stuff that fit in well with the interior—not too loud. I can’t imagine giving anything less than 5 stars for the vibe. Dim lights with teal, brown and maroon colors. Food: I got these croquettes that were a hybrid of Brazilian and Indian food—this is mostly a fusion place. I normally don’t like fusion food, but these really, really good. The hamburger, however, was too overbearing because no vegetables were used to “lighten the mood”…you’re simply bludgeoned with meat and gouda cheese…too rich. The menu changes a lot, so keep that in mind. My gin cocktail was wonderful…still thinking about, and I’m comparing it to great cocktails had in Chicago and NYC. Also a pretty solid wine list with even some dessert wines. Service: So this is the area that keeps The Consulate from getting 5 stars from me. First, let me state that everyone was nice and trying real hard, so I think this may be more an issue of organization and strategy than attitude. Also, the person I had was new (and made a point of saying so, which was annoying), and I’m not sure if I can say if she was all that “sharp.” The server at the table next me, however, was very sharp—anyone that can use the word “varietals” effortlessly and correctly when talking about the wine list is good at what they do. The biggest issue I noticed, though, was once the bartender made a drink, it would stay at the bar for a while until it was communicated to the server that it was ready to go to the customer. This process repeatedly took longer here than it takes at most places. Also, I’m certain I was brought the wrong wine since the dessert white wine I ordered was, well, a red. Overall: Some hits, some misses, but the misses generally pertained to service issues that can be rectified (mainly by smoothing out communication between staff). I would actually come back here again since the interior and vibe were great, my first dish was really good and my first cocktail was great. I’ll end by saying that I would prefer to see The Consulate succeed because I do feel that Atlanta’s dining scene is better with it than without it.

🍴Extraordinary Food, beverage, atmosphere, and service! Eclectically warm and inviting space. Two menus to choose from: regular or a global theme. Also a unique cocktail menu. Perfectly presented plates that not only photograph well, but taste as good as they look! I say no more…

The waiter chose everything for us. We had Zambian food and a good mix of the other dishes. Really good cocktails as well

First time and will definitely return. Walked in and just loved the vibe. Beautifully lit, smaller venues for more intimate seating and conversation. A wonderful varied menu this month featuring Ethiopian cuisine. My cocktail was superb. Had 4 plates and 3 out of the 4 were original and spot on. Great spot!

I was looking for something a little different to try while visiting Atlanta and stumbled across The Consulate and snagged a reservation. We just returned and will make a point to visit every time we come to Atlanta! The food was fantastic and revolves every 3 months. The ambiance was very smart and made for a great atmosphere. But what really made the visit great was the knowledge and hospitality of the staff. Our waiter was Wesley and he was incredible. Extremely friendly, learning our names right off the bat, and was able to quickly answer andy questions we had had about the menu and made some great recommendations for us as well. Thanks you Wesley for a great experience and we certainly hope to be back again!

The Consulate is one of those restaurants that seems to just get everything right. You are first greeted with sights of a very well-furnished restaurant with a comfy waiting area. The rest of the restaurant has a sleek and very worldly look. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the drinks and the food are exquisite. The coolest feature though is the revolving menu. Every once in a while they change their menu to focus more heavily on a particular country/culture and serve dishes inspired by that. I had an incredible Ethiopian lamb dish along with an Ethiopian beer and was very pleased! I highly recommend eating here when you are in Atlanta.

The place was easy to find but we struggled to find the parking. Later came to know they have a dedicated place. Ambience was great Food was excellent We had chickpeas, cous cous baba ghanouj and fish. Staff very helpful and polite

Good food. Creative cocktails. Interesting concept. Needs better execution. We learned our lesson. The food was good - the scallops and fingerling potatoes were better than good - but we had asked for it to come out a few dishes at a time. It was served as quickly as fast food. We were inundated. We complained and the owner sent the last two dishes back but no relief on the bill, which was regrettable because we could not enjoy 1/2 of the first tapas served. They got cold on the plate and ultimately were tossed. Expensive lesson.

This is a restaurant where the uniqueness of the decor is matched only by the wonderfully different menu. I really enjoyed the Ethopian menu, and can't wait for the next county. The idea of a menu that rotates every 3 months is wonderful. The service provided by Aliah (?) was professional, upbeat, knowledgeable, and fun. I look forward to re commending The Consulate and returning.

The consulate was difficult to find via GPS but was a wonderful place for date night. Do research as this is a small plate restaurant... which I did not read on their menu 😂. Great service as well

We went to the Consulate when our family came into town from the moment we walked in the doors the intention of this restaurant was set. The Consulate delivers artsy, clever, and warm ambiance along with impeccable service, coupled with deliciously delectable food that begs you to linger for as long as possible to savor each and every detail of your experience with them. We couldn't have asked for more, but they left us wanting more and more. We can't wait to have another experience at the Consulate.

We met another couple for dinner midweek. the address is tough to find because from 10th Street it is behind Marta, and the actual entrance for cars is off of West Peachtree. It has a cosy atmosphere with dim lighting and friendly but efficient service. It is a small plates restaurant so even the entrees are small. We shared eight plates between us and were full enough but we could had an order of potatoes in truffle oil if we had wanted more carb. it is a decent wine list and we were allowed to dine at our own leisurely pace. The strange wall ornaments made out of guns in the mensroom were unusual!

Really nice ambiance and interesting decor!! Great food, tight seating but tolerable if you dont mind being close.

In Atlanta for the weekend and was looking for someplace new and different for dinner. My search took me here and it was really a unique experience. Hostess was very friendly. We arrived early and took seats at the bar. Watching the bartenders at work was a good show so we decided to eat at the bar. One of the bartenders came around to our seats and gave us menus and explained the food concept. The menu changes regularly and focuses on different countries, hence the name. We ordered some specialty cocktails that were very good and different. We then ordered four small plates and wine and all were outstanding.Service was quick and the bartenders were very informative. The look of the place is very eclectic ( I believe the owner is an art dealer). All-in-all it was a great experience and I will definitely visit again.

Went here this past week and really enjoyed it! The menu changes every three months...they spin a globe and wherever it stops is what they cook for the quarter. Right now the cuisine focus is China and we had a deliciously flavored meal! I will be back!!!

Five of us shared a number of the Visa side and standard menu items. All were good. The pakoras and a dish that was like roasted eggplant sliders were standouts. Okra were a bit tough Server was knowledgeable but missed some of the order. All of the dishes this came out hot, and most of them came out at about the same time. All over, great dinner

We visited the consulate for early dinner. Moriah was our waitress and very knowledgeable about the food and cocktails. All of her suggestions were very good. This place offers food from around the world and they change the country every 90 days. We visited during the country of Iran but they do have other dishes from other countries on the menu as well but the highlight of the menu are dishes from Iran. I think next up is Ukraine. Reservation only restaurant unless you just want to do the bar.

This is a great place just to go get one of the specialty drinks - lots of different areas to sit in. They have a standard menu of tapas items, but additionally each quarter they give you a different "visa" and the food comes from that country. last quarter it was from Brazil, this quarter from Denmark. Everything is excellent - fun to go with a group of folks so you can try various dishes

My friend and I needed a cool place to catch-up that served good food. We found it in Consulate. The decor is amazing and well put together. I don't drink alcohol so I started with the iced ginger hibiscus tea. For dinner we ordered the Brussels sprouts (a little salty) however the octopus, sixty-five dish, and diplomat burger - very yummy. The brown butter gelato was just ok. The waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. There's parking available behind the restaurant in the parking garage. It's great that Consulate validates parking. Can't wait to return.
Amazing decor & fabulous food!!
My husband and I had dinner here the other night and it was simply wonderful. We had a reservation and were taken immediately to our table. Our server was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. We ordered the duck confit, grilled okra, Turkish coffee cheesecake… Amongst other dishes. Everything we had was simply delicious and we will definitely be back! This place is a foodie’s heaven!!
