Birthday celebration

By Mary G |

My oldest son William bought me to Orlando Florida for birthday celebration. We ate here February 6th. We had Vanelis as our waitress. She was so knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the blackened tuna nachos and tuna avocado-tini for appetizers. Dion's OMG Roll and firecracker roll we added plus blueberry cheesecake and pumpkin pudding for dessert. All the food was scrumptious. We even had to run leftovers back to hotel . So much food!! The last day my son made reservations here again. We picked outside dining. We had Lizzy as our waitress this time. She was awesome as well. Mentioned some of her favorite dishes. We tried one. Flaming salmon roll. We did go for the blackened tuna nachos again. I ordered Tropical Storm roll. We enjoyed our dinners here at Cowfish and plan on coming back.

Surf and turf

By Blaze Blue |

Read the interesting and somewhat unique menu with typical tourist area prices $$$ Decided on late lunch as crowds are less. Host was personable, kind and polite. Table was outside in a covered terrace area, with decent view of citywalk area. We ordered three sushi rolls and one burger/sushi roll. No appetizers, no drinks, no dessert. Waitress was accommodating, efficient and polite. Bill was around $85 for less than delicious food. Nothing to rush back or wait on lines for. Average to a bit above average tasting food, a disappointment, but no surprise in tourist trap area. Try not to go to citywalk hungry. Stick to hot pretzels , ice cream and a nice stroll . Or share one roll and a drink at bar area.

Pre- HHN Dinner

By EMT_Chris |

Made reservations for a Pre-Halloween Horror Night dinner for 6. Sat at a half moon shaped booth. Full bar choices available. Denise our server took great care of us. The menu was quite expansive with many options for any palate or lifestyle. Appetizers of edamama, fried calamari and chips with crab dip (Yummy) Dined on Sushi boxes, salads, burger. Everything was hot, delicious and plentiful. Enjoy!

TOOOOO LONG

By Resort58757611302 |

This restaurant took 2 hours to bring out our food, AFTER WE SAT DOWN. The staff was poor and didn’t check on us the entire time. If you want to reveive your food in under 2 hours, DO NOT VISIT!!!

Disappointed

By Todd S |

Shrimp appetizer was great. The burger and chicken sandwich were terrible. Cold fries and poor service. The server was nice, but had to flag him down just to get drink refills. We looked forward to eating here, but sadly we won't return. Waited 40 min after reservation time and then took almost two hours to get food and check.

Honest review (first time customer)

By Makaylah K |

Personally I think it’s an overpriced basic sushi place (if you are going for the sushi experience) the appetizer we got for the yellow tail was transparent and the skinniest sliver of sashimi I have ever seen in my life lmao… as for the rolls.. Barely fish when it, and the fish you could tell was not fresh more frozen. Our tuna, which is fresh would be a dark red, but instead ours was pink which was already telling of freshness. As for the burgers they were phenomenal. I think this place should really only be recommended for burgers and not the sushi aspect as it lacks significantly in that category. Would I eat here again.. prob not as it’s not worth the hype that people make it out to be. Safe yourself the time and money and just DoorDash if you want decent sushi.

Meat and fish a bizarre combo but plenty to satisfy a sushi or burger lover at family friendly restaurant

By D G |

As a huge sushi fan and only a moderate burger fan, I was intrigued by the notion of a sushi burger. The Cowfish name seemed to imply some strange combination that was counter to the laws of nature :). Anyway, we decided to stop here for an evening meal during our visit to Universal Studios, Fl. The sushi (no meat, just fish) was excellent and IMHO great value for money. The fish tasted fresh and the quantity in each dish for instance the California rolls would fill a moderately hungry person IMHO. We ordered 4 plates of rolls including one “Primetime” lobster tail and steak roll. The food was delivered quickly and was ample and flavourful. The “Primetime” combo of lobster and steak was an acquired taste and I think the jury was out on it at our table. There were people eating more conventional beef burger plates at neighbouring tables so if you don’t like sushi, there is still sufficient to keep you fed. We sat out on the terrace and could see over the entrance to the theme parks and there was a nice vibe and atmosphere. Good value and recommended.

Not great

By Tour66865463386 |

Mixed bag really, two of the 4 meals were good, but the other 2 were cold and not really edible, sent them back but took another 30 mins to come back. Not great for a $250 meal. I don't think we will be back.

One and done as a novelty

By Luke T |

Was looking forward to this for our holiday but sadly left a little deflated. The food tasted great for what it was and the price was ok but was very much inflated by the location. The staff could of been more attentive, as we felt they just couldn't be bothered.

While visiting Universal we made reservations during the day for dinner. When we arrived we waited about 10 minutes to be seated upstairs. We had wine, tap beer, edamame, California roll, spicy crunchy roll and kids ninja nuggets bento box . Enjoyed the food, good portions.

Loved it !!! Must try

By Lily V |

So happy we tried this place… Wow !! pur family really enjoyed it! the decor is amazing .. Have to point out the colors and the fish tank with the burger and sushi👌🏼Our server was wonderful and kept passing to check in ..our favorite appetizers were the Avocado tuna martini glass with fresh tuna, diced avocados , so fresh and sea weed not usually a fan but what a crunchy touch.. Also a hit for me was the sesami chicken bites, OMG !!we loved it so much we got a second order .. the sauce and the little asain slaw under with all those combination flavors … Wow and the slaw was delish burger was so good the CB CLT was so good My son had that one .. and me the Dynamic duo .. was good but loved the other one more.. my daughter had a mac and cheese bento box such a cute touch with a treat.. lived it will go back def … 👌🏼

Try the bento box. A slider with Sushi. Edamame. Pickled cucumbers.

By Chris S |

It was late. We couldn’t get in anywhere to eat around Universal. Several places wanted you to download each of their apps. Which took forever and didn’t work that well. So we went upstairs and found Cowfish. We sat at the Sushi bar bc we didn’t have reservations. We were pleasantly surprised. Service was good. We both had bento boxes. Loved it. Would recommend.

6 / 10

By JW Marr |

Sushi was average, location location location. There's so much to choose from to eat in this area, This is a give or take place.

Loud but good

By Cara A |

The food was fantastic. It was very loud, but I could still hear the others in my party. We were impressed by the quickness of the food. I had the cheeseburger sushi roll and it was fantastic.

Would not return

By Dimplesfam |

Waited in line for about 10-12 minutes although we had a reservation- still had to wait in line to check-in. In addition, our waiter did not come for 10 minutes and gave an excuse about being in the bathroom- which was tmi and actually pissed me off he gave an excuse instead of an apology! People next to arrived 15 minutes afterwards and their waitress immediately went over to them! We did ask her about her waiter and she was kind enough to look into it while getting us drinks (told the manager about her- she deserved kudos). Waiter still was dallying even after the bathroom incident (perhaps he was sick…so he needed to go home?) In the end, we ordered, food was subpar compared with last year. Sushi was some of the worst we have hd and we eat internationally. The sushi/burger and sushi/bacon mixtures were not tasty at all. The burgers and bacon were decent taste and quality. Would not return

Best Place at Citywalk

By Michael P |

Fantastic food and service. The sushi is top notch and the burgers are perfect. My son loved the fries and the Nutella milkshake as well. Best restaurant at Citywalk

Pretty good

By Jaskel08 |

Located in the City Walk at Universal Orlando. The restaurant is located upstairs….. which gives a great view of Universal and City Walk. We sat outside, which allowed for us to enjoy the view. Service was good. Ambiance was fine. I had several sushi rolls. The food was good but not great. On the flip side, my buddy who lives in Orlando and recommended it, swears by the food. It can get busy, so best to RSVP in advance.

Long time Sushi

By Ruben E |

Operator; Magalie E. Check 1-437 table 42 Sunday 7 The service is terrible,we was waiting long time for sushi and we decided too go to another restaurant too take our food

Yes! I’m glad I stopped

By PrettyJuls |

Our server, Vanelis, was Perfect! The nicest person. So attentive and helpful. She always checked on us. She does a wonderful job. A manager (Lisa) stopped by and she was just as sweet. They really care about their customers. I would definitely recommend the service here.. the food and atmosphere... you won't be disappointed! I would give them 5 stars! I will definitely be back. You will never feel odd or inconvenienced in any way .. I feel you will always be happy with your experience because they actually care. You feel appreciated as a guest. It’s almost like pampering. That’s very rare in this day and age.

Great Recommendation!

By Chris D |

One of our group suggested we have dinner here. The atmosphere and menu are incredible. Some had burgers and some had sushi, everything we had as delicious. Our server made the whole experience fun.

Love this place!

By E Mark M |

We adore this place! Whenever we go to Orlando we always make a point to stop at Cowfish. The food is creative, tasty, and reasonably priced. I love the tuna burger and my partner loves the cheeseburger sushi. Be sure to make your reservation in plenty of time though, as we often have trouble getting a table.

Not a highlight!

By GastronautDC |

Do not dine here. Our dinner was a disaster. They literally got our entire order wrong. We waited over 40-minutes between our appetizer and entrees. Some highlights, we ordered a shrimp tempura roll, no fake crab (I forget the product name). It came with fake crab and was very bland. Our burgers were ordered medium, the came out hot pink and raw in parts. My wife cannot eat cilantro. He salad, ordered without cilantro, was full of it. Finally, my daughter ordered a burger - just the burger and roll, no cheese. Her burger was served fully loaded with cheese. The restaurant was dirty. It may be due to the volumes of customers. Our waitress and the manager were extremely nice. They reduced our bill by 50% as a way of apologizing. We didn’t eat 50% of our meal; however, we appreciated the gesture and just wanted to escape.

Top Notch Cowfish

By Macnda |

This is our family’s favourite restaurant in Citywalk. We always start our Universal holiday in The Cowfish as the food is consistently excellent and it provides good value for money. In our family we have three enthusiastic meat eaters a Sushi fan and a Vegan. We often start with the Calamari, Firecracker Shrimp and Endame. We can also recommend the Boursin Burger, Shroomin Swiss and the superbly named Cowfish has left the building. On a recent visit our flight was considerably delayed and after calling from the airport to change our reservation time to just before closing we were accommodated with no fuss and our server very kindly didn’t rush us even though it was obviously the end of his shift. We have found all our servers to be excellent at The Cowfish. I would encourage The Cowfish to try and employ a upbeat check in hostess at the podium when checkin in as it sets the right tone for the super experience that follows.

cold december

By NQuoryo |

repeat visit. Rating of 4 is pretty high I could’ve given a 3 as we’ve waited an hour after being checked in for a 4:30 and finding out that theres a lot of seating still available upstairs anyways thats their system I feel bad because it was a very cold day and a lot of people were waiting. Food is ok like the blackened tuna nachos, we got 2 bentos & the jalapeño burger, came with sweet potato fries and the pickled cucumber was good, didnt do dessert coz we went & got coffee & donuts at voodoo while waiting to be seated for cowfish

Don't eat sushi but love Cowfish!

By hibz31519 |

Burgers are amazing, tuna/avocado cocktail, truffle fries are all wonderful...professional bartenders...very courteous staff...we stop every time we're staying at a Universal Hotel!

Be prepared to wait!

By Sharon O |

Booked a table for 8.30, noting it was our anniversary. Still waiting at 9 & told there were still 4 tables ahead of us but we could sit at the bar. Server really unhelpful and dismissive. Food was average, definitely not worth the wait. Finally received a text at 10.20 to say original table was ready. Clearly just keen to get people in despite not having the staff or tables to accommodate demand.

Food and service solid.

By Mari |

The service and food were average. The service was just fine, but not very attentive and all of our food came out a couple of minutes apart. We were a party of 6. Some people in my group liked their burgers. I had the sesame chicken. It was just ok. At the end, a small group of service came to our table to sing happy birthday to someone at my party. This was very cute and they do a great job with the short but cool birthday song.

Best restaurant in City Walk

By t_niagara86 |

This place was absolutely stellar! We had reservations for 8:30, and were promptly seated outside on a breezy patio. Melissa our server was amazing… quick and friendly. The food though… wow! We’ve gotten so used to very small portions in City Walk, and then these giant plates arrived. They don’t sacrifice quality over quantity either. We had the crab Rangoon dip, and the poke dip. Both came with a huge amount of wonton crackers, and both were delicious. In hindsight we didn’t need both apps, but we really didn’t want to go back to the hotel hungry. Needn’t have worried about that! The bison roll was good, but the “what’s shaking bacon” hand held was insanely good. I’ve never had anything like it. Overall if you’re a sushi lover, this is going to be a hit for you. We will definitely be back!

Nothing to write home about

By Skymuffi |

Skip it. Food was just blah bar food. Poke bowl had no flavor. Cute concept. Just falls flat with the food flavor. My husbands burger was just fine.

Fun place

By Roary |

I researched some good places to eat at Universal Studios, and Cowfish showed up a few times. I liked how innovative the menu is, so I gave it a try. I actually tried it two days in a row, and the experience was very similar each time. Over two lunches I tried: - Fusion Specialty Bento Box - Very good. Got to like any combo that includes a burger and sushi. Burger was quite small and OK, but it’s the rest of the box that make it worth ordering. Sushi and fries were good. I was surprise by the amount of edamame and cucumber provided. Great value. - Bison Burgerooshi - Good. Just fun way to prepare burger ingredients in a sushi form. Tasted good. Was expensive for a roll. I had the same server twice. Very down-to-earth and friendly. I watched her work, and felt she had way too many tables to serve effectively, which explains why getting my order and my bill took longer than expecting. Overall, a neat place. Food is fun, service is friendly, the ambience is lively, and the food wasn’t too expensive given location. I was happy I tried it

Food excellent. Service terrible.

By Joe S |

Meal for our daughters 14th birthday. Waited 30 minutes for a drink order to be taken. Only taken once we asked at the bar. Half of the food order didn’t arrive, only to to be told by the rude waitress that we hadn’t ordered it, despite that meaning there wasn’t enough food for the table. Didn’t see the waitress again until she brought the bill. Worst service we’ve received ever.

One of my favorite restaurants period

By Dan L |

Great Sushi, great burgers, great food. Not the cheapest place to eat but well worth it. I visit as often as possible.

A worthy stop on the CityWalk

By Beth A |

This one is pretty good! Unique offerings for a blend of surf n turf that won’t totally break the bank. Prompt and friendly service as well. Can recommend the BBQushi if you’re looking for something off the beaten path. And the crab Rangoon dip is a must!

We’re done with cowfish

By Flossy-fairy66 |

We were really excited too come back after a few years away. The food and service have always been very good and efficient. Overall staff are not particularly friendly and I didn’t feel particularly welcome. We did a have good table with plenty of room and not too out of the way. Starter and drinks came out in a reasonable time so we just tried too enjoy the experience. The food …… well, the sushi and sashimi were pretty decent but one dish was a serious contender for an aged battered birds nest. I’m confused that it was even allowed too leave the kitchen. We both paused and then tried it, and it was very definitely burnt. The waitress came over to the table next to us so I caught her attention . “Excuse me, this dish isn’t right, the potato on top is definitely burnt, you can see how bad it is” ….. waitress response “what do you want me to do” …. I was a bit taken aback, an acceptable response would be,, can I get you a fresh meal or I’m so sorry, it shouldn’t have been served like that. After a short discussion she replaced the birds nest for a fresh one. I’m annoyed at myself for not complaining more at the time, I was just so surprised by her response. We didn’t order additional drinks or desserts as we were done with the whole experience and wanted too leave. We still felt obliged to leave a tip which is ridiculous. Spend your money somewhere else where it’s valued.

Super disappointing meal and service

By Caroline F |

What a disappointing dinner! We have come here for seven years in a row and absolutely loved it for the first five years. However last year we first noticed a quality dip in the food and this year (2023), it was worse. We will no longer be eating here. Also we went for my daughters 21st birthday and booked it and put that special occasion in the notes. Then I told the server it was her birthday and then also he carded her because she ordered her first ever alcoholic drink in a bar and he NEVER once just said "happy birthday." I literally told him before she arrived, during the meal, and right before desert. How hard is it to look up and say "Hey Happy Birthday! Thanks for CHOOSING to spend it here." What made it worse though was that as we were leaving the server at the table next to us brought out a cake with a candle and the table and the server sang happy birthday to someone at that table. My daughter just looked at me and shrugged. Our dinner with tip for five people was $271 and the food was very average. The fries came out cold, the ahi tuna was questionable (and it used to be so good,) and the rolls are better at our local grocery store. Too bad it used to be our favorite. Skip this place. If you want sushi, the sushi restaurant at the Royal Pacific called Orchid Court is much better quality and the service far exceeds this place. Never again for us.

Unprofessional staff and terrible false Japanese food

By osmar953 |

Only the hype: the only thing worst than the false Japanese food is the unkind and unprofessional staff. I’ve been several times on time and they always ask me 15 to 30 minutes. The last time was the only time we were 15 minutes late and they didn’t allow us to enter. Absent manager. I’ll never come back.

Food could be better

By ChiChi |

We have been coming here for years. Although the customer service has been outstanding, over the years, we have noticed a decline in the food quality; items are being substituted such as fake crab instead of real lobster, and lots of cream cheese, barely any crab in the crab dip appetizer. The short cuts are noticeable to those of us who are/were regulars. It would be great to revisit the menu and return to the quality you started with. Don't change the incredible Tuna Nachos, those are awesome!

So much selection of delicious food

By kirsty c |

This restaurant is amazing. The selection is unbelievable. The sushi is delicious and there is also a nice selection of kids meals which come with a hearty serving of fruit which is a nice change. Always busy so I’d recommend making reservations. This place is a must.

Great place

By Adam24711 |

Great food, and great service. The atmosphere was spot on. We have visited at least 5 times over the last three years, and every time it has been great. Apart from one time when we sat in the upper floor. This was devoid of any atmosphere which was disappointing

Nice restaurant

By LadyAng |

Everything we ordered were very good except for the sushi that come in the bento box, the raw fish didn’t look fresh. Otherwise I would give 5 stars.

Great fusion sushi...

By darkknightva66 |

Been here multiple times, always enjoy the food. Staff is friendly, have had great recommendations from the staff in the past. Overall a really good dining experience.

Unique and delicious

By marburgh605 |

We look forward to eating here each time we are at Universal. We like it so much we went twice during our latest trip. Unique options- love the bento boxes, the Buffalo chicken roll, and great kid options- including a peanut butter and jelly “roll”.

Good experience, one of a kind combo

By Guide64383153329 |

My son and I dined here in April of 2024. It was a beautiful night so we were able to dine on the terrace. I highly recommended dining outside. Our sesame chicken bite’s was a delicious appetizer. We both ordered the bento burger box. The sushi was delicious. However our burgers and fries were cold.

Nice concept poorly executed

By David of Bavaria |

The best sushi is simple, rolls slathered in mayo and hot sauce are designed to mask the quality of the core product. The dining space is noisy and soulless. It was very busy so service was very slow, 40 minutes to get a burger and some sushi. Stay away from the Bento boxes with mini burgers... It may seem like a cheap option, because it is. Disappointed.

Beautiful place, but loud with average food - some stand-outs

By SoulShareMom |

We ordered the California Roll $15, Sweet Potato Noodle Salad with Tofu $24, Poke Bowl with Tuna $27, the CBCLT with fries $23, and the Thyme after Time mocktail $11. We waited about 45 mins, which went very quickly as we walked through the awesome Universal Store and Epic Preview Store. We were impressed with the atmosphere aesthetically, but there was a loud humming that all four people in our family noticed immediately. My teenager with autism was afraid it was too loud to ignore, but he agreed to wait for a while to see if he would get used to it. Thankfully he did. Service was pretty good. Our server was very friendly, but she forgot us three times when we were wanting her. But another server (maybe a manager) was also extremely friendly and attentive. We had mixed opinions on the food. Sweet Potato Noodle Salad with Tofu - One person in our group ate this and he said that it lacked flavor and was not as good as the sweet potato noodle bowls at Fresh Kitchen. California Roll - Two people in our party ate this. One of us thought it was really good, while the other thought it tasted like all other CR she had tried and she wouldn't order it again. CBCLT - Two ate this. One thought it was good. The other thought it was very subpar and would definitely not recommend it. Fries - One ate this and thought they were good, but not as good as Chickfila waffle fries. Poke Bowl with Tuna - Two people ate this. Both thought it was very, very good. It reminded them of the Ocean Tuna Bowl at Disney's Pandora. Thyme after Time drink - Four people drank this. They all enjoyed it, but it wasn't exceptional. It looked beautiful, but it really only tasted like slightly flavored ginger beer.

Decent, but nothing to write home about

By CDNFamilyTravellers |

First Universal City Walk restaurant we ate at - felt kinda pricey and the portions were small. We ate at Vivo our 2nd night, it was better.

Sounds great , looks great just needs to be now be great

By Dan L |

We opted for Cowgish at City Walk as one child loves sushi the other burgers. Perfect combination Knowing it’s Universal City Walk we knew the prices would be high but we expected a little more. The sound of the sushi and sliders sound great but fail on the taste front to actually reflect those combinations Ok service and ok food hence the ok review. Just thought the food would be little better

Essential Experience for all Universal trips, even if you don't like Sushi, have the Burggushi!!

By CanadianCEO |

I was absolutely blown away with our Cowfish experience. The burggushi is not something i would have ever considered ordering, but when in Rome do as the Romans do... Really incredible. Even better were the specialty rolls. I love the liberal use of hamachi (yellow tail), use of multiple types/colors of caviar, the eel sauce was excellent, torched salmon was exquisite. To top it all off our server was incredible at recommendations, making the meal fun for all of us including my child, and being low pressure about drinks, dessert, etc. If you are at Universal, Cowfish is an essential stop, even if you don't like sushi you can have the burggushi!!!

Very pleasant surprise

By bjones7475 |

I was a little apprehensive to try this location, but after speaking with the staff, I saw the drink selection and the different styles of food I was sold. I would recommend this restaurant to even the Pickiest eaters. I'll be back .

Ruined our celebration

By Pete C |

Booked for a special occasion. Waited over an hour for food in the end we left without eating. No one cared waitress suggested it was normal don’t recommend.

Great time and food!!

By kalamatakat |

It was far easier to get in here than I expected. It has been a long time since I had an appetizer, main and dessert in the same meal. I could not resist the tunatini, burger and Nutella mousse. Tristan was super patient and helpful with our allergy issues. Great job by the staff. I will mark this place down as a destination when I am in Orlando.

Save your cash and get fast food on the way out of the park

By Daniel R |

Worst restaurant for a long time ... where to start? Service was just downright awful, the table was too small and we asked to move to another empty table and were told NO, it's just been cleaned (even though the restaurant was all that clean. Food was average at best and we had to repeatedly ask for simple things only to be met with attitude from staff. If you want above-average prices with below-average food/service this is your place. To top it all off they added an 18% tip to the bill for apparently no reason, we were just a family celebrating a birthday, what a waste.

Our favourite City Walk restaurant

By StripeyMiata |

This is our favourite restaurant in Universal. We love the quirky food choices and the presentation of food and the quality are always excellent. I love fish, my family hate fish, but there is always something on the menu to keep us all happy.

Unique restaurant with good choices for all.

By LLSouthernTrvlr |

Super fun restaurant with attentive staff and quirky food choices. The presentation of food and the quality were excellent. My daughter and I ordered off both the kids and the adult menu and shared plates. Highly recommend trying different selections and sharing.

Service good, food quite poor

By Laura C |

It’s only been a good handful of hours after the meal, but I’m very unwell it’s not stayed in my stomach at all. At the restaurant, the food took around 35-45+ minutes to arrive, and when it did all the items that were supposed to be hot (burger, fries etc) were stone cold. The server did her best and was attentive throughout and had a wonderful attitude (hence why this review is even getting 2 stars, or it’d be a zero) I was not able to bring the issue up with the server during our time in the restaurant due to it being incredibly busy

Overpriced and slow

By Eric B |

Sooooooo slow on service and $15+ for a mixed drink is outrageous, not to mention $22 for a burger is Criminal. Thankfully some assistant manager helped us or we would have never gotten our waters.

Unique food ideas

By Amber H |

Service was a bit slow and not the friendliest but the food was delicious! My husband loved his sushi and my burger/pork bbq was amazing!! The decor was fun and exciting!

Felt like outcasts

By Matthew L |

We visited Universal Feb 29 to celebrate my wife’s 40th birthday and decided to visit Cowfish. We arrived around 6pm and it wasn’t too busy. All of the reservation times were available online so I didn’t see a need to book one. Lots of tables were available. The host at the front door said that because we didn’t have a reservation our only available option was the outside bar area on the second floor in the back. Once we got there we were the only people in the whole area and we felt like outcasts. My wife and I felt uncomfortable because we felt like they were trying to hide us. If there was a table beside a urinal I think they would have put us there. It was getting chilly and we had to sit outside all by ourselves when everyone else had the option to eat inside, in the more happening area…where plenty of seats were available! Our waiter was very friendly and service was quick. Kind of hard not to be quick when we were the only ones sitting in his section! Food was ok.

Awful Place

By mila f |

We arrive to our reservation just on time, yet they made us wait 15 more minutes cause the table wasn’t ready yet, when we arrive to the restaurant it was all over the place, waiters don’t know the number of the tables so they asked to everyone if what they carried was their food multiple times, waited 20 more minutes for someone to take our order and when we asked for paper menus (since we dont have any internet in our phones in the us as we are tourists) the only answer we recieved was “We dont have any, unfortunately, bye” before running away. So bad we actually took our stuff and leave, overpriced and messy like a fastfood food court instead of a restaurant, go to Vivo or Bigfire Grill instead and dont waste your time.

Ok not the best

By ek |

As we all love burgers and sushi thought we’d give this place a try. Everyone in my family liked their meals however two of the burgers came cold. After sending them back they came back when a couple of us had already finished our meals, one burger came back hot the other one came back freezing. Had to resend and the next time it came out hot (as it should). We had a few items taken off the bill which the manager had offered which I thought was very reasonable. Lovely restaurant and nice menu.

Beef or Fish YOUR Choice

By Al Makynen |

We had a large group of eight. They take reservations. They were very accommodating. We ate outside in the covered area. Frankly, it's a bit cool inside but an entertaining interior. Located on the City Walk. There is no need to enter Universal. My wife and I shared a bacon cheeseburger. The loaded French fries (appetizer) were a big hit. Bacon, parmession cheese, and a flavored oil sauce that really made the taste pop.

Excellent Beef and More

By Timothy |

Cowfish at Universal City Walk has been a tradition for my family and I for years. They have quite a bit of variety and a diverse menu. Basic sushi and traditional sides are there along with fried and less traditional fare. On this visit We started with fried pickles and their Crab Rangoon Dip. Both appetizers provided a flavorful and well prepared start to our meal. The dip is always good and sets the stage for the mains. On this trip three of us had Burgushi and as always it was very good. My wife ordered a bento box with a slider and vegetable roll. Potatoes and edamame rounded things nicely and there was enough food to share. Cowfish is always a good bet for flavorful food and good service!

Most disappointing Birthday Meal Ever

By Alison L |

If I could give this a 0 for the host that was on the front desk then I would. Utterly shocking. We had a reservation and were told to wait at the bar until our table was ready and that we would get a text when ready. 40 mins later, my husband went to get an update only to be met by the most blasé and non apologetic response that oops it must have been given away. Thankfully the bar tender outside was fantastic and took care of us. The worst part was this was my son’s birthday celebration and that was included on our reservation request.

Best Sushi EVER!!!

By Zhenek |

Our experience at the Cowfish Was amazing, the service was pretty fast, the waiters were friendly but best of all, the food was DELICIOUS. I recommend the Georgia sushi roll with eel and yellow fin tuna but the prime time lobster burger sushi was also spectacular. So overall I would definitely recommend this place not just to sushi lovers but everyone else as well.

Consistently Fantastic

Great drinks, especially the Buffalo and bacon! The sushi was amazing and fresh. Staff was very attentive and pleasant

Looking forward to returning

Ok, so I felt like this place needed a new review from me. The last time we visited (many years ago) it left the pair of us feeling a little worse for wear. So I gave it another try. Now I’m really looking forward to returning. I ordered a sushi main followed by a sushi dessert and a spiked shake. I enjoyed all of it and where I couldn’t decide on some of my order I let the staff do it for me.

Just loved it

By Michaelene2013 |

City Walk at Universal is sooo pretty, & we were so happy to be back here. We'd heard of their CBCLT burger, & wow, was it super good. Our great waiter Leo was fast & helpful. Added sweet potato fries, & on to dessert. I asked about pumpkin pecan bliss rolls, so glad we tried them, just delish! Pretty place, great vibe & food & service, win win!

Cold food - sadly not just the sushi

By Alyssa_. |

We visited last night and loved the American and Japanese crossover. The menu can suit a wide variety of tastes. This is a cool restaurant In a great location. It’s worth booking as it gets busy. My two children had bento boxes, one sushi and one cheeseburger. These were a big hit. My partner had a sushi bento box which was nice but the sweet potato fries came out cold. I ordered the longhorn burger which was average, with very little bbq sauce (I could hardly taste it) and my fries were cold. We let our server know straight away that all the fries on the table were cold. He brought it half a portion for fries for myself and half a portion of sweet potato fries for my partner. I am unsure why we were give half portion when the original cold fries were twice the size. It was disappointing as this was a real mixed experience. Cold food is such a basic error and spoilt the meal

Poor food and service. Not a place I would return to.

By westside_eastside |

After arriving we were seated on the third floor, right next to the entrance to the restrooms and within the walkway of everyone arriving onto the third floor. We asked to move as if actually felt unhygienic being so close to the door to the restroom. We were told we could only be accommodated by sitting at the bar so that’s where we set up base. The atmosphere was lacking throughout the entire third floor. Second floor seemed so much better. Our server was covering drinks on the bar for the entire restaurant, food service for the area around the bar and settling bills throughout the restaurant. She was completely overwhelmed. Other than our welcome drink, we actually went without anymore drinks for our entire stay, including during our meal which we had without a drink for its entirety. Food arrived in good time but it was pretty poor. The bento box was served on cheap plastic trays. The fries were cold, cheese wasn’t melted on the burger and the presentation was completely lacking. We asked for our bill without finishing our meal and left underwhelmed and disappointed.

Repeat Visit..

By Mike-C |

Having dined here last August when we were in town this April looking for some lunch all the family suggested to return here.. The quality was as good as before with DS really enjoying his choice.. They say the server can make or break the experience well that’s certainly true here. Danny served us and she was fantastic. Polite, prompt service, helpful, knowledgeable, she certainly spent time with us, kept our glasses full and even (though busy) spent time chatting with us. A credit to the business.. We arrived as a walk up around 4pm and you could see they were busy, to be told it could be up to an hour. So we went online and we’re able to make an online booking for 15 minutes later which we did. We will return next trip & hopefully Danny is still there and we can catch up..

Terrible service. Food average

By D S |

What can I say. Was looking forward to this for a family meal and was soooo disappointed. Took ages for the waiter to take our order for 4 then we waited over an hour and 10 minutes for the food to arrive. From there it went downhill (as if it could anymore). We were neglected at the table. Wasn’t asked for more drinks, wasn’t asked for top ups, wasn’t asked how the food was until we finished. Draw the customers in then ignore them. When we asked for the check we waited almost as long again whilst other were being served. Food was ok, severely let down by appalling service. Wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t recommend.

Dont bother

By Mr d |

Awful, waited nearly 45 minutes and the bento box was cold and tasteless…avoid at all costs! One was taken off the bill but really shouldnt have spent a cent in there!

Love it !

By amanda P |

Visited 3 times during our recent trip to Orlando love it ! The bento boxes were great really enjoyed the food . Service better one night than the other but it was very busy

Delicious!

By Ed C |

We went for dinner the first time and then back for lunch a couple of days later as we had enjoyed it so much! Great burgers and top notch sushi and we had a great server. Very memorable.

The Great Fry Heist

By The Ranting Genius (TRG) |

Tye, our server, was fantastic. He was polite, attentive, and handled our family of five with the grace of a seasoned professional. He was so good, in fact, that I didn't even notice the upselling until it was too late. He asked us which side we wanted with our burgers, a seemingly innocent question. What I didn't realize was that the answer would cost me an extra $1.50 per burger. The food was fine, but the real showstopper was the deceptive upselling. It's like they've taken the concept of an "add-on" and turned it into an art form. It's a testament to Tye's skill that he was able to pull it off so seamlessly. It's a shame, really, because he didn't seem disingenuous, but clearly needed the tip money more than I.

No longer a favorite

By JL214 |

What happened to this restaurant? I LOVE Cowfish. I’ve been to almost every location they have (or had- rip Atlanta Cowfish) and I’m so sad to say I think this was the worst visit ever. This was an amazing place when it opened. The virtual aquarium was an amazing feature that is now just a giant blank tv in a dingy hallway. Upstairs isn’t much better. I imagine it’s hard to keep up a restaurant that has so much foot traffic, but my goodness couldn’t they try? I could get over the shabbiness of the appearance if the service and food had been decent. We waited over 15 minutes for a server to greet us. No problem if it was busy, but it was not. Food arrived and the burger was cold. It had clearly been sitting for a while. The fries tasted like old grease. Our crab dip was good, but the fried wontons were over cooked and had no sauce. Server never came to ask how food was. Brought us the check at the end and walked away. We did notice what seemed to be the manager was bussing all of the tables while the other staff stayed in the corner on their phones. Three tables next to us were dirty when we came in and stayed uncleared until after we left. Again- it was not crowded. Generally just a sad visit. Our last few visits here have been lackluster. I miss the old Cowfish.

Christmas trip

By Shelby H |

Food was good. But service was absolutely horrible. Waitress forgot we were there. Had to go to front to ask for more drinks, had to ask for silverware after food arrived. Had to go find napkins as there was No waitress anywhere to help. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

Would definitely go again

By BrendaH40 |

The food was wonderful the staff was friendly. We had a fun time eating here. We ordered the sushi and burgers to try both. They were great. We had a really fun time.

Love!!!!!

By Rose P |

Made reservations online. Checked in and less than 10mins later were seated. Service was great, food came out quickly. Everything was great- tuna/avocado-tini, poke bowl, burger bento box, southern bbq sushi, the boss, cookies n cream milkshake. Their spicy tuna was outstanding. Also cow punch was amazing. We have our fav sushi back home, found after trying them all- and this was better! Highly recommend

Amazing!

By NMkh |

This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food was amazing and service awesome! There were six in my family and we all had something different, but left feeling the same that this place is incredible! Especially on a hot day walking around the parks, this place is such a nice spot to recharge. My kids had shakes with their meals and talk about a treat! I had the best burger I’ve ever had…and I consider myself a connoisseur! Thank you for being one of the best highlights of our family vacation!

Terrible food, service and price

By Farah |

Terrible food and service, small serves, and high prices. Chose this restaurant based on the positive feedback on TripAdvisor and I’m not sure who is writing these as our experience DID NOT match the ratings. Maybe we didn’t choose the right things to order - bento boxes and salads were terrible, but when I looked at the food on other tables their food looked pretty bad too! We tried the Italian (Vivo) next door the next day and it was amazing.

Love this place….over and over and over

By Brian |

We come here when we are in town on vacation. This is probably our 4th visit and we love this place. Drinks are always great and so is the food. Service is always very friendly (sometimes can get slow when it’s crowded) . I love the Bloody Mary, burgers are always yummy and sushi is great. I would always recommend others to come here. We will be back!

Late late dinner

By Jessica K |

I would recommend making reservations if visiting on a weekend as this restaurant is pretty popular. Has a nice atmosphere and interesting menu. I had the poke bowl and everyone else ordered various bento boxes. Service was fairly quick and the food was good, although my husband felt the edamame could have been cooked a bit more - he said his were essentially raw and tough. My poke bowl was delicious.

Don’t go ever

By juan luis |

The experience was horrible. I could not eat at the restaurant having a reservation at 19:45 and one hour later i am still waiting. Why we have to make a reservation if they make you wait for more than one hour???? I think they have problems with the waiters, but I’m sorry is not my problem. I made a reservation months ago and if you have problems with the personnel, cut the reservations. I will not recommended.

Long-time fans left disappointed by menu changes

By CaptainMarvel12 |

We’ve been coming to Cowfish Orlando for over 6 years now – easily more than 10 visits – and it has always been one of the highlights of our holidays. On every trip, we’ve looked forward to booking here (this holiday we even booked twice in advance), because we’ve always loved the food and atmosphere. Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment. The menu has changed substantially, and two of our absolute favourites – Doug’s Fillet Roll and the Blackened Tuna Nachos – are no longer available. These were our go-to dishes and a big reason we kept coming back. We tried other items on the menu, but sadly nothing came close to the standard of those staples. Because of this, we cancelled our second reservation and, for the first time, won’t be returning. We totally understand that menus need to evolve, but removing long-time favourites that loyal customers come back for feels like a real mistake. Very disappointing from what used to be one of our must-visit restaurants in Orlando.

Excellent food: fresh and full of flavor

By jessica b |

This is our favorite restaurant in City Walk/Universal. The food is fresh, tastes like quality ingredients, and is full of flavor. Every single thing we've tried has been excellent. I love the bento box where you get a mini burger (like a slider), and also a little sushi, along with edamame and Thai cucumbers. The sushi is surprisingly excellent here. The tuna-tini appetizer (fresh tuna and avocado tossed in ginger dressing and served in a chilled martini glass) is very good, too, but if I order again I'll ask them to go light on the dressing. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was excellent, and so was the yellowtail. Jeffry was our server; he did a great job. We had three people; we each ordered an appetizer, entree, dessert and soft drink; the bill was $175.

Yaaay, we're back

By Michaelene2013 |

Had to get that CBCLT our former great waiter Sean told us about, sure miss him. That sandwich is sooo popular, huge & delish, hubby loves it. I had edamame (peas), giant plate & so healthy. Great vibe here, lotsa peeps & beautiful view of City Walk.

Cowfish is a winner

By exm0328 |

We ate here on our last night at Universal Studios and it was worth the visit. The sushi was excellent, as were the burgers. It was a busy night but it didn't affect the service one bit. A good spot to try!

Earplugs please

By Sibee |

We haven’t been in universal city walk for a while, so me and my husband were very excited to go and see what it has to offer. I did read and watch some videos prior to make sure we had a nice dinner. Cowfish restaurant was mentioned in most of them on top, so made reservations and was very excited. When we got to the restaurant, waited in chaotic line to let them know that we are hear, they said they are running late so will be about 15 minutes wait. I do understand that, except people in front of us did not have a reservation and were seated before us. ( they got the same size table like ours , so no excuse making people with reservations to wait in the same line with people who just came in). Decided to use the restroom before our table was ready, it’s on a third floor, and climbing up the stairs noticed that the stairs need a good wash, they were dirty. Finally our table was ready. Its regular cafeteria tables, you can high five the people sitting by the tables next. Our table was missing paper with the scan code for the menu, so I just took one from other table. And missing salt which we needed for fries later, again I helped myself , took it from the table next . Restaurant had a bright light, and super super loud, I do understand being loud because of a lot of people are there , but on top of that it was this BIG CONSTANT noise. I asked our waiter what is that noise, he said that he hears the music, but maybe it’s air conditioner. Now that he mentioned the music I guess I can hear some faint music plus loud sound, plus people noise. So it wasn’t relaxing or enjoyable or pretty atmosphere . I think outside would be better, but it was on a cooler side so we stuck with it. The sad part about all of that the food was ok . We enjoyed fried calamari, tempura roll ( just ok), and What's Shakin' Tuna Bacon Sandwich. Our waiter was pleasant. We are not planning to return to this restaurant, it’s too hectic and too loud for our liking.

Terrible customer service

By JDJ |

Had a reservation at 7:30pm and was there on time. Was told it’d be 10-15min to get a text for an inside table. After 30min of no text we approached the hostess and were sent upstairs to an outside table, again had to speak up to ask for an inside table since it was very cold, and were told it’d be another 20min. This is now 1hr after our reservation. Needless to say we left and won’t ever be back. Worse customer service.

Fantastic with allergies - Kayleigh was amazing

By Jake |

First time eating here. I have sever food allergies to eggs & nuts. Our server, Kayleigh was attentive, friendly and was amazing with ensuring the food I had selected could be altered to accommodate my allergies, checked back regularly to ensure that all the requests were okay. Food was amazing and would return on our next visit.

Extremely disappointed!

By Maura T |

When we entered Universal park (early afternoon) we stopped at the concierge desk to ask for dinner recommendations. The concierge recommended Cowfish, and so we took his recommendation and followed with a look on Tripadvisor to see what previous guests had said. The reviews were good and Cowfish was highly rated when ranked on Tripadvisor so we made a reservation for that evening. When we arrived, our table was not ready and we were told by the hostess they had just had a torrent of guests and so we would need to wait a few minutes until our table was ready. There were four of us eating. My husband and I, and our two university-aged children. Approximately 15 minutes later we received a text that our table was ready. Our server greeted us and took our drink orders. He said he “would bring ice water for everyone.” In addition, we ordered a beer (when asked if I would like a glass with it, I said yes,) and an iced tea. We ordered an appetizer of calamari (it was very good). My husband ordered a jalapeño popper burger. My son ordered a Texas longhorn burger. My daughter ordered a Boursin burger, and I myself ordered a Benton box including California rolls, and mini burger. There were so many things that went wrong with our meal I think it easiest just to list; 1.) My beer was delivered without a glass and when my husband asked the server he said “oh I thought you said no you didn’t want a glass”. Much much later, our server appeared holding a very yellow stained beer glass and a plastic cup and he said “I wanted you to see what the glasses look like so you would see why I was bringing you a plastic cup instead!” 2.) Only three of the four of us ever did receive water and the refills were very slow as was the refill on the iced tea. 3.) Our food arrived - all 4 of us were served cold fries. In addition my husband and son’s burgers were cold. 4.) My husband and son had been asked how they wanted their burgers cooked. I had not been asked. My mini burger arrived extremely pink. In fact, so rare it reminded me of what the uncooked ground beef I purchase at our local grocery store from the meat department looks like. 5.) The ketchup bottle on our table was empty. After waiting quite a few minutes for our server, hoping he would check in on us, I waved down another employee walking by and asked him to replace our ketchup. Our server did eventually check on us, but after we needed ketchup and before I realized my burger was not cooked! 6.) We finished our meal as best as we could. When the server arrived to clear the table he noticed very little had been touched on my plate and asked if I “was still working on it.” I said the burger was much too pink for me and his response was “oh I’m sorry.” The staff to guest ratio was not appropriate to handle the demands of the crowd. I was shocked to see the total cost of our bill after the service and food we had received. What a huge waste of money!

Unusual and disappointing visit to Cowfish

By KristiMac23 |

We've visited Cowfish on many occasions and always had a great experience but this one was a disappointing one and probably will not return. I can't complaint about the food which was beautiful as always but service was poor, our server was hardly around and I'd ordered a cocktail which our server forgot about. There was also a major issue and the fire alarm went off but not a single team member seemed to know what was going which was extremely concerning and I feel this urgently needs addressing. Overall very let down as we were so excited for our visit to Cowfish.

Over hyped!!!

By Rachel G |

Very, very poor experience. Service was dreadful. They forgot about our order, Waited an age before someone told us the order was misplaced!! Then when we did get the food it was cold and poor quality. Fries like the bog standard frozen supermarket fries, Sushi poor, purchased better in Aldi. The place seemed chaotic, lacking care and organisation. Toilets mucky, no loo roll, floors slippy It was such a disappointment 😞

Pretty good in a place where everything is expensive

By Megan and Matthew Wilson |

We ate here with a vacation-package gift card. If we paid out of pocket, I would have probably been disappointed. Everything and I mean everything at Universal/City Walk is expensive. For the price, I do think this place has great food and decent atmosphere. Our table was lop-sided and right next to a trash can. Drinks were pretty watery but the sushi was fantastic. Being on the second floor, some tables have a nice view of city walk, and other tables can hear live music from surrounding bars. Our wait-staff was very friendly and pretty attentive. Part of the second floor has corn-hole and other activities while waiting for food and enjoying drinks.

Not what it was ….

By Alyssa_. |

We have been a few times over the years and decided to visit again. I was craving a good burger and this seemed the perfect place. We were steated outside next to a very large group. The server was busy but it took a long time to get drinks and take our order. Once we ordered the food came out fairly fast. My daughter had kids bento sushi which was good and my partner also had sushi which was good. I had the jalapeno showstopper burger which was really dry and came out cold with fries that were hardly warm. My son’s bento box burger was the same. I tried to catch the servers eye in hope of getting some hot fries but gave up. Sadly, the was a disappointing visit to what was a great place in the past.

Couldn't get better!

By Roving50020678144 |

Went there the first night of vacation, and it was the first time there. The drinks, daiquiris, were the best drinks we had on whole vacation. Also had the sushi, which probably the best I've ever had. But the waitresses is what made it...we went back again. The are extremely friendly and helpful. Next trip, I plan to go there every other day.

Great theme, food could be better

By Kate L |

Visited here after a day at universal but I wasn’t very hungry so I just had the Parmesan fries, some were cooked beautifully, others pretty raw still. My son had the burgushi which was mostly potato straws with about 4 rings of burgishi underneath. The underneath of the potato straw nest was raw. Another place we’ve visited once and unlikely to return to

Nice food, ok but not amazing

By Leannemichelle |

We had an ok experience here. We had burgers, they were good, good choice. Atmosphere didn’t feel great. Server was friendly but couldn’t answer some questions about the food. I asked if something had a certain ingredient and he said ‘well does it say that on the menu’. For the price we expected a bit more but for food was quite nice.

Great Food. Reasonable prices

By Wbracco |

We definitely enjoyed everything we ordered. My husband had the burger with egg and pork. It was amazing. My grandson had the burger with peanut butter and ate the entire thing. We ordered the Tuna appetizer which was amazing. We also ordered the firecracker roll, fried salmon roll, tropical roll and kings roll. We ate everything with our gluten free soy sauce. We also ordered the tuna and bacon sandwich with sweet rice wrapped in rice paper as the bun which was also amazing. No room for dessert and we will definitely be back !

Crab 🦀 Dip

By Hadley96 |

I had the crab ragoon dip. I loved it. We sat upstairs, outside but undercover. Service was great, but wait times for food were long. It's a popular place.

Poor reservation honoring

By Mark G |

Poor reservation and hostes. Arrived 6:15 for a 6:30 reservation told to wait around till they texted us. 6:30 went back to hostess told again she will text us when table is ready. 6:52 texted that table is ready. Why make reservation? Will not be coming back to cowfish.

Hope you don't get Melanie L. as your server!!!

By foodie0415 |

We had the worst waitress there her name was Melanie L!! Our glasses set empty most of the time!! She would walk by our table and ignore us!!! We had to stop her for refills on our iced teas!! We saw her standing around most of the time!! She was extremely over whelmed or lazy or both!!! We were one of the first families there that day. Our reservation was for 11:15am and we didn't leave until 12:28pm. Host also was extremely rude!!! Food was great while it was hot, then it got cold waiting for our waitress to get refills!!!! We dined there on 12/21/2023

Overated.

By Michelle C |

Over rated, very disappointed as we heard some gd things about this restaurant. Made a reservation for a time and we still had to wait another 20mi s to be seated. Then wait another 40 mins for food. If u got young kiddies not a good idea. Nothing to keep them occupied. And food was ok,but the gratuity tip goes straight on the bill. And tbh the service was not great

Very Excellent Dinning Experience.

By Robert L |

Excellent Sushi. Would totally recommend to everyone. Would most readily recommend the appetizer; it was tuna with avocado in a round martini type dish. It was amazing. I thought the pricing was reasonable these days. It was a total Good surprise.

Unusual Choices

By Sherry W |

We had a reservation and were seated pretty quickly – even with many people waiting. We ordered the bento box and the grilled chicken sandwich. Everything was good except the slider in the bento box. It was supposed to be cooked medium to medium well – it was at best medium rare – picture is shared. They did bring another that was cooked medium well and it was good. The cucumber salad in the bento box was so delicious! The grilled chicken sandwich was good and a pretty big sandwich (think two fast food chicken sandwiches). The fries were just normal shoestring fries. Service was good and attentive.

Wanted this to be better than it was.

By Charlie R |

The food is a bit disappointing. Not bad, just not as exciting as I expected it to be. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I was definitely expecting more than this. The sushi was just ok. The burgerooshi was barely that. The service was great, though. Which the food was better.

Terrible service, rude front of house staff

By Dave M |

We booked a table in advance for 8pm. Confirmed the table when they texted . Arrived on time and the lady on the front desk was rude and unhelpful. Had no intention of doing anything. After waiting 20 mins we asked for the manager, this upset her again. The manager arrived and we got a table about 5 mins later. Ordered starters and they arrived cold. No napkins. When we asked for some the waitress was sarcastic asking if we wanted paper or linen. The manager come over and said she would sort fresh started out. These arrived after our main courses arrived. Thus is a real shame as the food is fantastic, when ut arrives hot I might add. The service and staff let this place down. Rude, lack of attention to detail, just doing the simple things. Would we return, I honestly don't know as there are so many other places that want your money and might try harder

Good sushi

By Donnovan Stephe... P |

Good sushi with some interesting interpretations. Edamame beans were good as was the tuna taco and the crispy calamari. Hostess at the door was a bit surly and unfriendly and the table was about 20mins late. Would recommend sitting on the Balcony to enjoy the views of Universal and Islands and the passing parade of people Would recommend. The outside Balcony area could be upgraded though. It felt a bit like a school Canteen or food court notwithstanding the great views

Food was not good.

By Sarah Farkas |

Went to Cowfish for lunch and it was not good at all. Service was fine. We sat at the bar, nothing spectacular. My husband got a poke bowl, his rice was mushy and I got the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. I did not realize that it came with a pretzel bun. The bun was very stale and the chicken was tasteless. The fries were delicious but overall the food was not good for the price we paid. We ate half and left. Much better restaurants at city walk and I should have stuck with the good ones instead of trying something new.

Family first Birthday trip

By michelle w |

very disappointed in the food quality sushi was mediocre service was average . Went here last night with family on are granddaughter first birthday trip . Quality and quantity of food was subpar compared to other visits at the location . The staff was not friendly or considerate like they’ve been before and the thing that was the icing on the cake for me was they brought our appetizer out with her food because the waitress forgot to put in our appetizer order , this is one of my pet peeves that makes me decide to never eat at a restaurant again. All and all as a family we have decided to take this out of our usual rotation on our family trips to Orlando.

Who Woulda Thought

By ASBCRB |

We were a bit skeptical and admittedly didn't order sushi, but we did get a burger and appetizers and the food was really good. Might as well give it a try even if you're not into sushi. Pretty tasty!

Worth a try

By Julie A |

They forgot the chicken on the Chinese chicken salad. Salad was still good without it though. Sushi roll was okay, but not spectacular.

Good visit

By Tibbyhatton |

We prebooked a table outside and was greeted by a great waitress who was attentive throughout. Kept our glasses filled with iced water which was needed and helped us with beer recommendations and sushi choices which 2 of us had. Our other party member ordered burger and fries which was a decent size. Sushi was just the right amount and we both enjoyed it. The walk to the toilets took a while and were difficult to find up a flight of stairs. Glad we visited and would recommend.

Why bother with a reservation?

By DABeza |

Unfortunately they need to work out the kinks in their reservation system. Reservation made seemed to be irrelevant and only after we complained twice at 15 and 30 minutes past our reservation time were we finally shown up to a table. Food was fine. Service was slow.

Great restaurant

By Twinsmom99 |

I enjoyed the chicken salad and hubby had a burger. Really good. Kinda chaotic restaurant but still good. I would recommend.

Average

By Eddy west |

Food ok, basic enough. Children’s food was served in small portions on canteen like trays. Profit seemed to be the intention here. Air Con inside can make the place feel very cold.

Not what I was expecting.

By Rob M |

Ordered a bbq burger and fries, sushi plate, and a kids meal. Service was good. However, burger appeared average and fries below average (seeming they've been frozen too long) before cooked. The total price was over $60.

Not quite what we expected

By winags |

I had really high expectations for this place. I found it to be just ok. We ordered some of the burghushi items and were disappointed in the taste. Also the cheese fries were just ok. We had an excellent server.

A good choice

By Ben H |

Great food, good service and I would recommend it. We were a family of 5 and all of us ate well and enjoyed. I saw mixed reviews before we went but don't know why. It was good.

Wanted to like it so badly :(

By Stephanie |

The food was disappointing for the price. Had the roasted brussel sprouts as an appetizer that server recommended, the fish flakes they were covered in were overwhelmingly powerful and smelly. We couldn’t really eat them. The server was attentive and friendly but excessively addressed me as “friend” - it felt over the top fake. I really was excited to eat here the concept was so interesting. Sorry.

Highly recommend for sushi lovers!

By HPU-Dude |

Awesome sushi and service!! Kids loved the bento box, firecracker roll, Jen’s roll and Doug’s filet roll. Make sure to get reservations for dinner time.

Burgooshi!!

By Lauren M |

A unique blend of burgers and sushi! Booked a reservation on a whim after peeking at the menu. Had a great time - great service (very kind staff!!!) and food! The burgooshi is something I can’t really describe, but it is delicious. Our three teens also enjoyed it! Would absolutely come again. A great find in CityWalk!

Burgushi was taste sensation

By Laura190615 |

Popped into CowFish before going to HHN stay and scream and were offered a seat at bar straight away. Staff were lovely, food was served quickly and can honestly say the Burgushi was a triumph! Bento box was nice but more snack sized but we were happy overall. I really enjoyed it, would love to try a few other things on menu as lots of tasty looking plates were leaving the kitchen.

Great food

By Dianne A |

Went for a late lunch. Seated really quickly, server was great. Nice atmosphere. The food was really tasty, could not fault any of the experience

The food wasn’t worth the wait

By Tina |

We had a reservation and waited a half hour to sit at our table on the third floor in the back. First be careful the floors are slick. Once we finally ordered it took over an hour for food. Not worth the wait. We live in the Kansas City area and our sushi is better. Second time we have ate here and this was such a poor experience we won’t go back. The tables beside us were also complaining. The waitress’s excuse was the kitchen is on the first floor and the food has to come up from there. Uhm….

Disappointed return visit

By Sammy C |

Came to Cowfish Aug 2022 and had an amazing meal. On our return this Aug it really let us down. First shown to a small side room on top floor with curtains all pulled across at weird angles with little light- asked to join the main restaurant as we’d booked months in advance. Reluctantly moved us to a table on top floor by bar. Felt like we were just being‘fit’ in and not expected. The food was not the same- ordered tropical storm and it was ok but not the knock out dish I’d had before. We felt rushed throughout and rushed to pay. Will not go back and I feel awful for recommending this place to friends visiting Orlando this summer.

Avoid at all costs!

We wanted to go out for something to eat after our day at Universal Studios. We only got a seat at the bar, even though there were lots of free tables. We had to wait ages for our food and it was cold. Prices were very high and the quality was poor, so I wouldn't recommend it!

Chaos!

By GarfyLondon |

Arrived at 7:45pm for our reservation only to be told that all tables were running late. About 30 minutes later we were shown to a table, on its own, situated by the exit. It had 2 broken chairs and no atmosphere being separated from the rest of the diners. We asked to be moved but we’re rudely told that all tables were the same. (A family arrived after us without a reservation and we’re seated before us in a nice booth) The manager came over and the server pointed at my wife and hissed “SHE has a problem”. The manager didn’t seem to want to listen so we left. The food may well be amazing but if it’s anything like the customer service, I doubt it!

Very unpleasant experience.

During our previous visit to Cowfish, we had an amazing experience that left us excited to return. However, this time around, our experience was quite the opposite. Despite having a reservation for 9:45, we were not seated until after 10:15, causing an initial delay. Unfortunately, the server was slow to attend to us as well. On the bright side, when we placed our order, the appetizers arrived promptly, and they were of good quality. Although we had to wait beyond our reservation time, the manager kindly compensated us by comping two appetizers. Yet, the situation took a turn for the worse when our main meals finally arrived at 10:57. To our dismay, all five meals were served cold, indicating that they had been ready for quite some time. The French fries were soggy, the sesame chicken bites had congealed sauce on top, and the burgers were disappointingly rubbery. Furthermore, they had initially promised honey for my husband's sweet potato fries, but when the food was brought to the table, they claimed to be out of honey without offering an alternative side. Hungry and disheartened, we decided to eat anyway so that we could leave as soon as possible. Once we finished our meal, my husband and our friend headed to Walgreens next to Surfside to pick up a few things while we waited for the checks. Surprisingly, they managed to make the trip to Walgreens by bus and walking from the Surfside drop-off before we received the checks. After arriving at 9:43 for a 9:45 reservation, we didn't get out until 11:45. Overall, the experience was underwhelming and disappointing. None of us has any desire to return to Cowfish after this unfortunate visit.

Loved the food and atmosphere and great service...tried many appetizers and entrees....great pricing and excellent servi

Best sushi in Orlando...nice spot to cool down and enjoy lunch or dinner after a long day at Universal parks...perfect location entering Universal parks too

Best place I’ve ever eaten in Orlando

By Cameron M |

The best place I’ve ever had. I had a hamburger and for the appetizer my dad and I had the edamame and that was delicious. What was it that y’all put in it though? It was so good and I’m definitely gonna be making it if I figure out what it was, and then after dinner, I had a Oreo milkshake delicious♥️😍

Burgers That Live Up To Hype

By John L |

Unbelievable food! Pricey because it's tied to the Universal resorts and parks. But the service was great and the food was great. The atmosphere was nice and we did not have to wait to long to get our table.

Great Food

By Cathy W |

Very good food for the price. The crab Rangoon dip was delicious. We chose to sit upstairs outside as it was a beautiful day but the music from the CityWalk was very loud and we did not enjoy it. Go for the food but sit inside.

Good for a theme park restaurant let down by the hostesses.

By Myles C |

Food was okay for a theme park restaurant. Had a roll of sushi and some nigiri. Not the freshest but filled the spot. Sat at the bar outside and the bar tenders were great very attentive. Just sadly whole experience was let down by the 2 hostesses then one down stairs and upstairs. They couldn’t really care less about the experience. Being a solo dinner I was just told to find my own space at one of the bars no help at all.

Enjoyed the experience - bit pricy and expect a wait!

By Oliver |

This was a popular and busy place. We had booked this restaurant 1 month in advance of the booking with clear instruction after looking at reviews on u-tube. Despite that we had to wait for half an hour past the booking time once we arrived. The food was great and service friendly, we had fun!, however like all Universal restaurants you do pay a premium + tips and they can’t cater for large groups >5 without that extended wait time. Probably would go again..Enjoy!! See menus..

Good, but not great

By anderson213 |

Compared to a few years ago, the place seemed a bit "somber." It wasn't very busy, unlike the last time. Service was good. The milkshakes were very good. The sushi made us happy. However, the peanut butter burgers were not as good as last time. To be honest, there was only a very small layer of peanut butter, so a person takes one bite and it tastes like what he ordered, then the next bite is just a regular burger, then another bite--regular burger--then another bite--oh, what I ordered. Overall, it was a good meal, but not an exceptional meal, like previously.

Japanese and burger together!!

By Virginia M |

For a family that likes Japanese food and burgers it is ideal!! They have an interesting mix to get to know. We ordered the BentoBox, it was totally worth it. My daughter ordered the sushi and really liked it too. I recommend this mix of cuisines as an experience.

Delicious food and great atmosphere.

We had a fantastic meal here. Food was delicious, frsh and generously portioned and the place had a great atmosphere. Our waitress was lovely and really helpful too. Will definitely return when we come back.

Wagyu slaughtered on the grill and sushi is ok

By Nadia O |

Me and my husband whent here in hope of an great experience, but unfortunately we didn't. The sushi was standard and tasted good. But don't! Dont Order the wague. Wow I have never in my dreams seen or eaten a more tasteless piece of wagyu meat. The meat was killed on the grill and un eatable. We send it back twice and they just did the same thing. We won't recommend this place to anyone. Only if you are there for the sushi.

Good different

Cool and different! Went with my partner and kids. We ate good and even went out the box to try new things. Was clean as well. Would def go back!

Good service can't save dirty restrooms and food that's 'ok' at best.

By adamhattan |

My friend and I dined here for lunch before our flight home. Whilst the menu offers some unique items and we had good service, my burger was undercooked (ordered well), the restaurant is pretty inaccessible to anyone who struggles using lots of stairs, the food was ok at best, and the toilets were dirty and in dire need of a refit. Whilst our server was courteous enough to have my burger recooked and taken off the bill, I'm not sure I'd return. This was my third visit to Cowfish and my second disappointment. Unfortunately with that level of inconsistency, regardless of service, I couldn't recommend it.

so glad got a chance to finally try this place.

By needlottery |

took 6 teenaged boys here. this restaurant was awesome! my husband got.to try a form of sushi without fish and everyone found something they liked. our Becca did a phenomenal job especially with 6 boys who could have drank the restaurant out from the constant reorders. food was awesome!

Never again sadly

By Connector320838 |

Ordered to take out. Spent $90 on 4 dishes and when we got home 40 mins later the portions were the size f appetisers. The goats cheese salad and poke bowl salad didn’t even cover the bottom of the box. The waiter said what I’d ordered would be enough for 4 but it wasn’t enough for twos. Feel completely ripped off. Not worth the money you can get nice food that’s more than an appetiser elsewhere.

Disappointed

By Clairelouise1980S |

The restaurant was empty yet the staff weren’t very quick at serving. I only got part of my order, fries were missed off and no one came back to check if the food was nice etc. the food was very disappointing, the edamame beans were very dry and inedible. I wouldn’t rush back.

Long waits, terrible food and worse service.

By Matthew T |

Terrible food and even worse service. Table wasn't ready when we arrived, so we had to wait around even though we booked. Waited about 70 minutes for some burgers, in all that time our server completely ignored us, were not offered refills or updated on the wait. He was more interested in chatting with people by the soda fountain. When the food came, my order was wrong and the food that was correct tasted terrible. I would not recommend it at all, avoid like the plague.

Great burgers

By Jeff456789 |

Both my wife and I had the rise and swine burger, myself with the parmesan truffle fries and her with sweet potato fries. Really enjoyed them! Burgers in particular were declious and was nice sitting on the terrace. Service slightly odd as bill brought whilst we were still eating, never asked if we wanted dessert. Still would 100% return.

Good food, disappointing service

By Leannemichelle |

Food is good. On the more pricey side but this is to be expected on city walk. We’ve been a few times and the atmosphere is cold. During our visit yesterday we were half way through our entrees, hadn’t even started our burgers and we were asked if we would be wanting anything else and given our bill. We may have wanted to look at the cocktail menu or desserts but we didn’t know at this point and were annoyed so just said no. I know this often happens but this was about 5-10 mins into eating our meal. One member of our party was asked if she wanted a box for her food when she had only had a few bites. We felt rushed and like the server just wanted us off the table so didn’t order anything else or any more drinks. Don’t think we would return.

Worth the effort!!

By Justin S |

Great food and great service!!! Make sure to make a reservation, and you still have to wait in line to check in. So be sure to get there a few minutes early!

Don't GO!

By Melissa R |

We made our reservation online. When we arrived, we were greeted by Reenie, which we discovered during our meal that she was a manager, and she stated well you will get a text when your table is ready. She was very UNPROFESSIONAL and was more interested in putting her makeup on and pinning her hair up. When we received the text that our table was ready, we went to check in and Reenie pointed and said Well go upstairs and they will see. This was our first and might I say ONLY TIME that we were at Cowfish. Once we arrived at the greeter at the top of the stairs, Sheera, I stated 2 and we would like a booth. She did not listen to me at all just printed a small receipt and reach it to another person who sat us at a table. The ONLY reason that we stayed for the overpriced and not very good meal was because our server Denise was fantastic. It was not her fault that Reenie and Sheera were useless in my opinion. Neither Sheera nor Reenie should be greeting customers because they are both very rude and inconsiderate. I like by blue moon in a chilled glass and Denise stated that they do not do that and she said that she would see what she could do. Denise brought me a very cold glass and said that it was the best that she could do. The bartender, Thad, and Denise were the greatest experience at this restaurant. We will not go back and do not recommend it either.

Unbelievable experience and not in a good way!

By Ashley C |

Went out with family and friends for lunch was approached and discriminated several times while in the restaurant facility, we asked to eat out side after being approached several times for different reasons and not only did the server not come out to tend to us after moving outside, but was told by another employee not even the server we were going to be kicked out the restaurant and banned for 2 years if we don't leave because someone hit (puffed, or smoked) a vape OUTSIDE and there was a 6 year old child there eating on the end of the table. In any other situation that would be a dead give away we are just there for food. I'm combat veteran that served in Afghanistan and almost lost lost my life for this country and to be treated in this manner and discriminated while just trying to eat lunch with friends and family and my 6 year old daughter was unexpectable, and unbelievable. I never been so embarrassed in my life and did nothing wrong but was told higher uppers was there, as a customer it does'nt matter who is there the experience should always be positive, good and keep you coming back. I was told by a neighbor it was a good sushi place so I took relatives and ended up looking really bad after that experience. I would honestly never go back even if it was free this is unacceptable service and treatment received by the staff everyone should be treated equally no matter what their appearance because you never know and shouldn't judge based off appearance. Training definitely is needed in this particular location it was hostile, tense and a unenjoyable. That really made everyone feel less than and definitely killed the vibe. If it were up to me I'd do some firing and hire some people with some manners and know how to treat people.

Creative and Delicious

By Marika K |

Creative and delicious. Do not go here if you are looking for standard simple food. Our favorite was the tuna nacho appetizer- don’t miss it! Service was great. I suggest making a reservation from the universal app - I found more time slots available for several restaurants than using other apps. Chill vibe - people were dressed in after park casual or a bit dressed up, we saw a variety.

Bad burgers and service

By Ellen R |

We made reservations and still had to wait a significant time, only when we approached the stand to beg for an ETA did they finally say we could be seated. We received our appetizer of the crab Rangoon which were very good, but waited 45 minutes for our burgers to come out. I ordered a medium burger and it was raw, my sister ordered a burger medium as well and it was well done and dried out. The waiter not friendly at all and not to be found. I should also mention that one of the servers was sitting on the floor behind the hostess counter for whatever reason. Would not recommend.

Eclectic menu that met all needs

By jongable |

This place has an eclectic menu, but it worked for us. We really enjoyed the fried pickles appetizer, which were thinly sliced and not too sour. We also ate the vegetarian roll, Firecracker roll, and grilled chicken sandwich. Prices were high, but that is typical for the location. Service was quick.

Unique idea!

By Jenny C |

This was a unique experience! The fish was fresh and there were lots of choices on the menu! But if you’re not a fan of sushi, the burgers are a way to go!

Nice food but disappointing service !!!!

By Patrycja C |

Nice food with disappointing service ! Just to be clear the food wasn’t bad, but service we received from beginning was extremely disappointing. We booked a table for a set time, but despite showing up on time we were told that tables are not always ready for the booked time and that we will get a message when the table will be ready - that completely defeats the object of making a reservation. As we are from the UK we had difficulty receiving any messages from any restaurants confirming our booking, we highlighted that to the hostess at the door who said she will call us. Almost 20 min later we still haven't heard so had to push into the queue to ask if she got any news about our table, which was already ready so we probably wasted some time standing in full sun. We ordered a couple of appetizers and mains, but no one told us that mains are coming out straight after starters!! We asked if mains can be kept in the kitchen (warm) for 5 min or so... But no, that was not an option. We felt extremely rushed to try to eat it all fast enough before it goes cold. The check was brought to us before one of us finished the main, and desserts were not offered. I would only recommend Strawbery Jam cocktail.

Great for sushi lovers/not sushi lovers!

By michelleblack |

Superb food and service! Kenna gave excellent recommendations and service, and the host was incredibly professional and kind. Many in our party aren’t sushi lovers, but they had plenty of great choices. Don’t skip the cheesecake—it’s delicious!

Really Great

By cokerbud |

Order the King Roll! It was great! This is a huge restaurant and as everywhere be ready for screaming kids, strollers and handicap carts everywhere. The area is so packed a reservation at most places are a must. If you are looking for ambiance the Walgreens down the street may be a better option.

Terrible customer service.

By Ryan E |

Just like other reviewers- made to wait 25 minutes after our confirmed reservation time for food that was below average. One of the worst on Citywalk- go anywhere else.

I seldom complain but...

By nursecasey |

Usually I overlook most things at a restaurant. But sitting on a hightop booth was really hurting my back with my legs dangling down, I'm 66 years old and walked around Universal all day. My daughter asked the hostess if we could move, explaining the situation, and she said "company policy" they couldn't move us after we ordered food. I call BS, especially when my daughter has served in various capacities in the restaurant business and she knows better. My other 4 family members ordered sushi and I ordered the black and brie burger. Obviously my order had been sitting around for awhile before it was brought out because the burger and fries were lukewarm and the bottom bun was soggy so I couldn't even pick up the burger. It was good tasting but lukewarm? No thanks. Sent it back. I'm not paying $21 for lukewarm food. I'll try this place again because my daughter said it's usually very good. But tonight? Not so much.

Delicious!!

By Meredith |

Amazing food and service!! First off, the sushi was incredible and very fresh, and the burger was outstanding! The service here was amazing, especially our wonderful waitress Kayleigh. She gave us so many great recommendations for places around here and was so helpful. Definitely recommend and very family friendly!

Very good burgers reasonably priced.

By Jeff456789 |

Both my wife and I had the rise and swine. Really enjoyed it. Only thing I would say is my medium rare burger was clearly cooked medium well by wife's was ordered medium and was perfect. Server was really good at bringing refills and food was hot. Definitely will return!

Not worth it.

By Terri H |

We made reservations for this establishment. Waited for 20 mins for a table, they were busy BUT as soon as we were sat it’s like they cleared out. Yet we waited for an hour and a half for our food. Before ordering I asked the server how big the burgers were that came with the bento box, he says “1/4 lb, a good size” So since I wanted to try something new I went with the bento. The burger was the size of a chicken mini from Chick fil A…. Bento box was definitely not worth the over $20 price I paid for it. Sushi roll pieces that came with it were roughly the size of a nickel. Guess they wanted to me to fill up on the half a tray of edamame. Husband waited for over 30 mins for a beer and wanted to order more sushi but didn’t want to wait as long for another. All in all if you go, DONT get the bento box and hopefully you’ll have a better experience than we did.

Pretty good food…

By Penn-Virginian |

The sushi was good but nothing great. The wait staff was nice. The atmosphere is very average. It’s a family place where small children can let loose (like the table next to us). The food costs more than it should.

Delicious food

Good food. Enjoyed delicious sushi after a long time. Food was really nice. I could recommend this place to anyone. Great staff.
