Bar service and mediocre food

By Fernanda L |

Don't understand why someone would wait in line to eat such an average breakfast. Our order was missing the toasts, which actually never arrived. We gave up and still had to get in another line to pay our check standing up. Won't be coming back.

Great full breakfast with fantastic service

By James S |

Enjoyed the “Full Monty” with bacon, sausage, and hash browns. Very reasonable cost for a very enjoyable breakfast. Menu options are available for vegans or omnivores. I thought the staff were very courteous and attentive. I would return for another meal.

AMAZING - Food & Staff

By Cindy K |

We searched for a breakfast place that wasn't too far from our hotel and our plans for the day. SO glad we ended up choosing The Daily Feast. It's small, but so very welcoming. We were greeted right away and seated. We ordered coffee & the server offered us expresso, cappuccino or a latte instead. Glad she did, we both got lattes and they were great, which will be a theme for this meal experience. We had a different server for our meal and she was awesome. She was feisty & gave my hubby crap & he wasn't sure if she was serious or not which was great - she wasn't of course but it was certainly engaging!! I ordered the 'half monty' an egg, bacon strip, sausage link, hash browns & a slice of toast. Hubby got a breakfast burrito. We also got blueberry pancakes to share. The food here is seriously great. The service was amazing and so friendly. Totally recommended!!

Yummy breakfast.

Six of us had Saturday breakfast here. Glad we arrived when they opened as they filled up quickly and there isn't a lot of space for larger groups. Very good food and coffee, attentive and friendly wait staff, good prices, nice atmosphere.

Great place for a good breakfast at a reasonable price

By IRBDave |

I was surprised when I order my breakfast of eggs, sausage and bacon. I'm on a ketogenic diet so I don't eat toast or potatoes. I didn't have high expectations of the sausage as I've had it at a few other places and I've never been happy unless I've purchased them separately and cooked them at home. They were great, the eggs were also probably the best I've had at a restaurant and the bacon was good. My wife ordered eggs Benedict but the eggs came out overcooked. To their credit, they recooked the meal and gave us a discount on the total price because of that. It was 2 blocks from the Paramount hotel where we were staying, a small restaurant and always busy for a good reason. It's a great place with great prices and will do whatever to make sure you're happy. My wife went back the following morning for breakfast when I was running the marathon. I wish we went there on Monday but we wanted to try somewhere different but unfortunately we were very disappointed with The Good Earth Cafe.

Great venue!

By Horacio Franco |

Very good breakfast menu with many options for different types of diets and very good food! The attention of the people working there is fantastic! Very attentive and focused! Nothing more to wish! The atmosphere was also incredible!

Just a totally chill Diner with great food

By eigram120 |

So I went in with my family and ordered the tuna melt. Now I have had tuna melts before - pretty standard, but this may have been my favorite, Homemade bread- generous on the fillings and it came with watermelon gazpacho soup (yum). Super casual - sat at the counter. delicious!

So Yum Breakfast!

By doris s |

Breakfast Porridge & Breakfast veggie burrito were fabulously yummy and a most deli smoothy with avo. The place is obviously popular, we did have to wait quiet a good while. However, the staff were very pleasant and very accommodating!

Breakfast in city center

By fromthedallesOregon |

What a great find! Not only was the food delicious, it was presented so attractively. The cafe had an upscale diner feel, and the many customers were definitely enjoying their meals. The prices were very reasonable as well. This relatively new business is a big hit!

Great downtown diner

By brmusicman |

I just really like this place. It’s a classic American diner in downtown Portland, and it does what it does really well. I stopped in for lunch and sat solo at the counter—the long counter makes this an easy place to dine alone. Service was attentive and welcoming. The BLT was perfect: crisp bacon, cold lettuce and tomato, a healthy portion of fries. A chocolate milkshake was also perfectly made, with the right texture. An indulgent meal to be sure, but a great one. Expect nothing fancy, but if you’re in the mood for a diner lunch, this place hits the spot with good service to boot.

AMAZING!!

By Karla T |

wonderful mom&pop place, this place is an absolute GEM! Im a coffee snob, & the cappuccino & latte were incredible I had to have 2. Food has perfect, huge portions & the staff so friendly & service very fast yet attentive. we are visiting from Chicago & totally recommend this for coffee & breakfast lovers

Ate here 3 times in 3 days

By Momma O |

We were in Portland during the COVID shutdown and our hotel was very close to The Daily Feast so we chose to eat here all three mornings we were in town. Staff was friendly, coffee was on point and food was delicious! Morning 1 I had the Daily Benny, it was really good only the hollandaise wasn't quite there in my opinion. The ham was delicious and I chose to add tomato and avocado. All in all it was good but lacking something in the sauce. My husband had the full Monty and he said it was delicious, some of the best bacon and sausage he's had. Morning 2 we both went with the biscuits and gravy. They were also really good. I added hot sauce to mine and yumyumyum were they good! Biscuits had great flavor. Morning 3 Husband went with the Full Monty again and was pleased. I opted for the fruit and granola and was blown away! So much flavor! Wish I could've bought the granola and seed mixture to bring home! The honey mixed with the fruit and the rich yogurt made for a perfect start to our last day! We highly recommend stopping here on your trip!

Classic Lunch

By brmusicman |

I was in Portland for business and hungry for a late lunch. This diner caught my eye as I walked around the blocks surrounding my hotel. I enjoyed myself! It was a retro vibe without being cheesy, as diners sometimes are. I sat at the counter; the service was efficient and genuine. The menu had what you would expect of diner food. There was a large variety of breakfast options (still available well past the typical lunch hour) and a number of sandwiches. I had a BLT with avocado. It was delicious: the bacon was crispy and flavorful. It was also a reasonable size; you could actually take a bite. It was served with fries; they were nothing fancy, but they were crisp and hot. The price was right--very reasonable for a party of one for lunch. And it was an easy spot to eat alone, enjoying some quiet time and a magazine. Would certainly return!

Great little place

By shell30345 |

We loved this place and went here everyday during our stay in Portland. Christine the owner is just delightful. We've had the half Monty, muesli pancakes, and the 3 meats breakfast burritos. (This was over 3 days) All were amazing. And we had fresh squeezed oj!

Pleasing In Every Way

By Patrick F |

Since this was my first time to Portland, and consequently visiting this restaurant, I didn't know what to expect - especially since I was asking my phone for places available around me at the time. However, after taking a 10min walk from our hotel, we ended up being pleasantly surprised and were amazed by not only how fast the food came out after ordering (~5mins) but also by the quality. This place will not disappoint you, and you will experience fast and friendly service from their wait staff as well as delicious food - which you should definitely pair with their house blend Bloody Mary. Prices are reasonable for Portland, much cheaper than your hotel room service, and if you feel as though you want to walk off your meal you'll have access nearby to downtown areas along with cocktail bars should you want to wash your meal down with something tastier.

A great place for breakfast in a retro-feeling diner

By JoyYarrowPoint_WA |

We loved the entire vibe right down to the incredible food. A great place to start your day. The drip coffee was great, the veggie breakfast burrito was excellent and the ambiance was great. A great way to start your day.

Flavorful food, friendly staff

By SimeyTravels |

Closing out our Portland visit with a delightful brunch at The Daily Feast. We walked over to this spot after checking out of our hotel, knowing we had most of the day to kill before making our way back to the airport. We had a lot of exploring (and walking) ahead of us, so we wanted a solid base in our bellies before tackling the day ahead. They had a pretty decent group of people hanging out front when we arrived, but when my husband stepped inside to ask about the wait, he was told it'd only be about 20 minutes. Though it was bitterly cold that day, we huddled up on some of the chairs lined up along the front to wait. Hearing the hostess (and I think, one of the owners?) call my husband's name was a huge relief. At that point, we were almost frozen solid (San Diego kids can't hang with your Portland fall weather, y'all!) and were craving the warmth of the restaurant and a hot beverage more than anything else. We were given a couple counter seats across from the front door. Our waiter came around with water and to get our drink orders (Chai Latte with almond milk for me [$4.50] and latte with soy milk for him [$4.50]) It took a minute for me to decide on my meal; everything looked so good! I really wanted the Daily Benny - had my mind all made up to order that - but when our waiter came back, I ordered the Full Monty Breakfast, instead ($13) My husband ordered the Homemade Biscuits and Gravy ($12) The kitchen was working at a break-neck pace that day! We had full view of the "order up" window, and there always seemed to be something in that window for the staff to pick up and deliver. That just meant that we got our food in record time, as well. To start, the drinks were expertly crafted - right in front of us, as it turned out. The chai latte was just spicy enough, and the almond milk added a nice extra layer of flavor to the drink. My husband did also enjoy his latte. The food was hot, fresh and flavorful. I wasn't able to finish everything on my plate - I suppose I could've gotten away with the Half Monty breakfast plate instead - so my husband stepped in to help. The meal comes with hashbrowns, two eggs (I went scrambled), sausage, bacon and toast. I really enjoyed the hashbrowns, which were crispy and buttery, without being greasy. The bacon was cut thicker than you typically get at restaurants and had a nice char to the pieces (my husband finished off the bacon and sausage from my plate). Throughout it all, the staff was patient and friendly with us. This very easily could've been a repeat visit, had we found the restaurant earlier in our trip.

Yep, OK for Brunch

By Larry B |

Nothing fancy here. I had a decent breakfast burrito and Mon Cherie had the "half Monty" which was eggs, sausage, bacon, toast and hash browns. The seats in the booths are completely worn out. We sat down and the table was at our chins. Good coffee though, but you have to ask for cream and sweetener.

Good breakfast joint

By Ron F |

traditional diner atmosphere. Not large, so you feel nicely packed into the space. The menu was interesting and the food was good. If you're looking for a breakfast place in the middle of downtown Portland, this is a very good option

Great central Portland diner

By Geir S |

We came back for breakfast twice at the Daily Feast, as the food was delicious and the service exceptionally friendly. Hand pressed juice was just the thing to start our morning, followed by a good fried breakfast (the full monty) and Greek yoghurt with fresh fruit and granola. Must be great for brunch too!

Small place...good eats

By Criz66 |

Fairly small place, but the food was excellent and the staff was very attentive. Had the smoked salmon w/eggs and it was exquisite

Outstanding...

By Lon P |

This is a wonderful breakfast place, real 100% fresh squeezed juices, wonderful breakfast entrees great services. Its a cozy place that has energy and is so good. Highly recommend.

Great Breakfast

By aschoono |

We stopped in for breakfast when we were staying in Portland. The place was packed but we only had to wait about 10 minutes. The food and service was excellent. We will be back. Fresh squeezed juice was phenomenal.

Nice diner-style restaurant with interesting breakfast options

By Travelarry |

Really good breakfast, with interesting "oh-so-Portland" options, like whole-grain pancakes. Friendly staff, great pries.

Best Breakfast Spot EVER !!

By Geralyn G |

We found this spot on Google. It was within walking distance of our hotel. The food was wonderful, the wait staff was the BEST part of the visit! Each team member was patient, informative and just delightful. Did I mention, the food was good? I recommended to many of the other attending the same meeting. All had similar experiences. YES, the pricing was exceptionally reasonable, too!

You hungry, in a hurry, this is your place

By Joel B |

The first thing I noticed was even though this was in the middle of downtown, it seemed to be full of locals. That's usually a good sign, and yes, it ended up being just that. Both of us were happy with our meals and the coffee was good. The servers were very friendly as well. One funny thing, the bathroom is in the building next door and in the basement - you have to follow the green lines. So funny...

The Benny - absolutely amazing

By Scruffy G |

My brother had recommended "The Benny" - Eggs Benedict on top of Potato Pancakes (instead of a muffin). Absolutely delicious

Worth a try if you have the time

By Jim C |

I have been here twice, and both times I had a great burger. My only complaint is that it gets very busy and makes it difficult to have a "lunch break" here. Otherwise friendly staff, good service, reasonably priced.

Great little diner

By gefilte63 |

My wife and I happened upon this place on our way back to downtown Portland from Washington Park. It is very retro looking, but the food is good. We had a great light lunch at an affordable price. Looked like they had some great desserts too!

Excellent food, nice vibe

By Jack D |

There was a line at the door when we arrived, and for good reason. Make sure you go up to the counter to get on the seating list the hostess carries. We didn't notice until the crowd thinned a bit that there is self serve coffee while you wait for a seat. For as busy as it was, the place is relaxed and the wait staff is friendly. My wife says the eggs benedict was the best she's ever had. It's something she frequently has when eating out because making hollandaise is a pain. Instead of an English muffin, which can be difficult to saw through, the eggs are served on crispy latkes. The ham is sliced thin and and is browned. The hollandaise is superb. Even the fruit cup had an artsy presentation. My scramble, while not as tasty as the wife's dish, was still flavorful and quite healthful. Good coffee, too. The prices are reasonable, especially compared with other places in the area.

Great diner food at good prices.

By PuppyjiveOregon |

Wife and I wondered over from our hotel two blocks away. We love diners and this one didn't disappoint. It's small and a bit crowded, but that's a downtown diner for you. I got bacon, sausage and eggs with hashbrowns and my wife got sausage on potato cakes with hollandaise sauce. We both enjoyed the meals along with an excellent coffee offering. The service staff were speedy and seemed happy to be there, which is always nice to see.

Great food and service in a small package!

By Brent F |

Fantastic small restaurant with great choices, nice portions and prices and delicious too. Service was prompt and accurate. We went two days in a row it was so darn good. It has tables and counter service too. Check it out you won’t be sorry.

Cute diner

By Beverly R |

Cute diner, nice for lunch or breakfast. Very limited menu for vegetarians/vegans. Quirky and the staff have a bit of an air of being "too cool", but overall fine experience.

Extra friendly and tasty

By J_n_G_n_AZ |

Fast and extra-friendly service. This place is the perfect blend of good old-fashioned breakfasts and delicious fresh and local fare. I could eat a loaf of the rye bread. The fruit cups are a work of art. I had the Strammermax and my wife the breakfast burrito. She asked for the burrito without the tortilla and the kitchen delivered an awesome plate of deconstructed burrito with some fresh gluten-free chips on the side. A very nice touch! Two breakfasts plus coffee was about $25 (including tip). A pretty good deal besides.

Yummy porridge

By Cacty |

I specifically dragged my sister to The Daily Feast for the porridge and it didn't disappoint. The cafe was cute, the service was great and the food didn't disappoint.

Awful

By michael W |

Walked in, clearly people waiting in front. Tried to get a waitresses attention we were ignored despite there being 5-6 staff. We weren't welcomed, greeted or told there was a wait. No communication, Stood like lemons on the faint hope we might receive a hello, eventually just walked out. On this, our first experience of Portland i wouldn't bother going what so ever

Perfect place

By tjane71 |

We were so fortunate to find The Daily Feast through Tripadvisor. It was steps from our hotel and we had a perfect breakfast. The breakfast salad was an unusual choice, but delicious. We also had eggs , hash browns and fruit. The orange juice was just like eating a fresh orange. The restaurant is fresh and clean. The wait staff attentive and pleasant. Our next stop was the visitor's center where we shared our experience so they could steer more tourists to The Daily Feast. We hope to make it for lunch before we leave Portland.

My Favorite Diner

By Orad O |

I waited all morning for this diner to open just so I could sit at its survey counter top and eat breakfast. It was totally worth it. The staff was lovely, friendly and super nice. The coffee was even more amazing than all the other coffee in Portland. I had the Stammermax, rye toast, tomato slice, ham, havarti, fried egg. I would go beck to Portland just for that, but nothing else.

Love a good diner.......

By KCinLG |

I love a good diner. Short and easy review. Food was tasty, of good quality and portions were big. I got the lox plate, and my friend got the chilaquiles. Both were very delish, and we were just barely able to finish. We also got mimosas (not pictured bc we were too excited to consume). We had multiple servers, but Jordan was the main guy. He took our order, did numerous follow-ups and was very attentive. The wait can be long (place it not that big), but I think it's worth it. Just plan in advance, and don't come starving. A wait for two was about 45 min on a Saturday. Will definitely be back......... Note: Sat & Sun, they ONLY serve brunch menu.

Small diner vibe

By Joel M |

Friendly fast service. One of the few places open early enough on the weekend for us to make our planned trip. Expected the Full Monty to be a massive meal but it wasn't. Tasty. Bagel was not in the same league as back home (NJ).

Delicious breakfast!

By carissacoronado |

When we first walked in, the customer service we received was outstanding. They were very friendly and helpful. The orange juice, breakfast burrito, and chocolate chip pancakes were delicious!!! Definitely recommend!

Great breakfasts in the Daily Feast

By kyned |

My wife and I really loved this little neighborhood diner. The staff were so friendly - they greeted their regulars with handshakes and hugs. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. Not cheap, but great value for money. I would recommend this to anyone staying in the area.

Spring for Spring Porridge

By wmdtjr |

Wow...great porridge and local bagel. Worth a breakfast and great Earl Grey tea. Friendly but over taxed help.

Loved our morning at the Daily Feast

By JetSetJessa |

Loved breakfast at the daily feast - latte was amazing - eggs were perfect and my 2 year old couldn't have been happier with all the dinosaur toys they had for him to play with ! Friendly staff and definitely worth visiting ! We will be back !

After reading the reviews for this place I was really excited to go and try it out. I was exploring Portland alone so ate here alone. I got there and it appeared quite busy but there were still places at the bar. A server came and asked me for my drink and food order quite promptly. All was good until the servers started to get mixed up. They work as a group, and because of this, things can get forgotten or skipped. Coffee had spilled on the floor when I arrived there, but it was only cleaned up 30-40 minutes later. People around me had been asking for water, drinks etc and did not get served quickly. Servers quickly moved on from customer to customer so if you had an extra request (like more coffee) they didn’t hear you. Luckily the good server came back and my experience ended positively, however this was not anything special nor a place I’d go out of my way to recommend. The food was alright, nothing special but not bad, and service was hit or miss. There are definitely better places in Portland to try if you are here for a limited time.

Excellent food and service!

By Sarah S |

We are visiting from Vermont and so glad we found this place. Excellent breakfast and the staff clearly enjoy working there which makes the experience so great. The avocado toast was just that - perfectly fresh avocado on toast - they’re not trying to make it overly fancy, just classic and good. Fresh squeezed OJ and hash browns were great too.

Started Out Great............................

By RaySF84 |

When this place opened they had good food at reasonable prices. Now that they have gotten popular the prices have been jacked up and the staff all have this attitude of "Your so lucky we let you eat here." Too many good breakfast place in Portland for this.

Oh, the bacon!!

By campmar |

The staff at our hotel recommended The Daily Feast PDX and are we glad they did. There are no tables - you are seated at the counter. The staff were fun although they were crazy busy. We had your basic bacon and egg brekkie and it was great. But the bacon! The very best I have ever had. This is a great kind of funky good food place.

Great Breakfast

By auddie88 |

This is a great place if your looking for a solid breakfast at a good price. Staff was super friendly and food was absolutely delicious. Went there both mornings we were in Portland.

Great Diner Food

By RLD808 |

This convenient little diner in the downtown area of Portland is a great place to get a quick and tasty bite at a reasonable price. The menu is not vast, but does offer a wide variety of normal, decadent, as well as healthy options. Feeling hungry and needing to fill your day or kill that hangover from a night of over indulgence, then get the Full Monty. It is loaded with tasty and a bit greasy meats along with eggs of your choice. The sausage was great. Grilled perfectly for a breakfast with just the right amount of char. The hash browns were perfectly cooked as well. Most times, has browns are underdone, but these were just right with brown crispy outside and a tender, yet well cooked inside. The Strammermax was my favorite. The open faced breakfast sandwich was flavorful and very satisfying. It had the right amount of mustard for that zing and balanced off with thinly sliced ham, a bit of cheese and a nice runny sunny side up fried egg. It was a real breakfast winner in my book. Service was nice and friendly. Restaurant was clean and tidy. A recommendation in my book to go and eat. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent Breakfast in Pleasant Restaurant

By Bob S |

Very good breakfast in comfortable restaurant. Large enough menu so that everyone can find what they want. Took our time and staff was OK with that. Will return for breakfast and will try it for lunch some time.

Burrito tastic!

By AtlantanHaggis |

Dropped by this busy small-ish diner for breakfast, had a great chorizo burrito and some juice fomr the friendly server. It was quick and tasty. Nice place but a little small, you could call it cosy too :)

Good food, nice staff, super kid friendly!

By Lauren R |

We went here for breakfast and it was great. Tasty good, good quality and a clean restaurant. The staff was really nice and accommodating - we had our young daughter with us and they brought her a bunch of toy dinosaurs to play with!! She loved it! They boiled them first, too, which is so above and beyond for a restaurant to do. I was impressed, and now I want more of their chilaquiles because I'm thinking about them. Yuuuuuummm

Good breakfast food

By Megan W |

Breakfast food was good. Nothing spectacular but it was good, quick, and inexpensive. The service was great.

Fun little diner with vegetarian options

By Jeffrey K |

I came here for breakfast while in Portland on business. I was promptly seated and the counter and given a menu. The service was very good. Food preparation did take longer than one would expect for a diner. My cappuccino, however, arrived quickly. The food was quite tasty, made from quality ingredients and freshly prepared. Portions were appropriately sized. Coffee was very good. The diner is small but not too noisy. The music was a touch too loud but not overbearing. Plan on a bit more time to eat than you might expect for a diner.

Wonderful, reasonably priced breakfast

By Terri |

The simple porridge is simply amazing!!! And the huge breakfast burrito has to be the best value on the menu. Very filling and tasty!!

Generous portions so come hungry!

By julez182 |

Restaurant feels like a diner that would be in New England, small but cozy. Staff are super friendly and ontop of their game with service! Great food choices for brunch. The fresh squeezed orange juice is a must. The Lox and chorizo burrito are amazing! Generous portions so come hungry!

Last Breakfast in Portland

By Kathleen S |

We were lucky to arrive and get one of the last tables for 3! As I looked around at this cozy coffee shop, I could see the staff was shorthanded. Our waitress brought menus and returned promptly despite the rushed Cafe environment. We ordered and once the food came we were surprised at how much food was on our plates! It was delicious and inexpensive. I would return again.

Loved this place!

By christine h |

What a great place - the atmosphere was charged, the wait staff true and friendly. We had the Musilie (?) pancakes and DIED over them. This is a definite thumbs up. I'd go back without a doubt.

A handy spot for food in downtown Portland Or

By margaretcov |

Right near the Downtown Library, the Daily Feast was convenient for a quick late breakfast with my two grandchildren (8 and 10). They do not have a children's menu which is a shame (they did have crayons but no paper - luckily I had a few scraps in my bag) but our waitress helped compensate by providing a smaller portion on one of the dishes. I loved the classic dinner decor and my made on the spot, fresh orange juice. The lime/coconut smoothies are definitely not for children - sour. The breakfast burrito was monstrous and 1/2 went home. The pancake on the other hand, were light and fluffy and very good although we had to ask twice or our side of fruit. If you go there, don't be in a hurry. The food took much longer than anticipated (although mid week when we arrived at noon it was quite crowded and not so much by the time we left at 1:30.but it was very fresh.

Great find for breakfast!

By SimoneW58 |

This was perfect for breakfast on a quick trip to Portland. It's a diner to the core. Few seats, great menu and a washroom only found after an excursion to the creepy basement parkade:) The menu was quite large, the food tasty, a good value, and the service was fantastic. We liked it so much we went back for brekkie the second day we were there. Highly recommended. Ask for the washroom code before you venture out to the elevator!

Quaint but very average

By JamesBourne |

Stopped for breakfast while on my way to another spot for the same. It was a throwback to the 60's almost, very cozy atmosphere. Food was very average, service was pretty good. Not sure if I would go back or not.

Delightful Food, Service, Quality, Prices, and Atmosphere

By SuzXeric |

A corner diner with a beautiful retro aesthetic, The Daily Feast offers excellent breakfast & lunch options at very reasonable prices. The staff is friendly and works nonstop to seat, greet, and feed its patrons. As busy as they are, they still take the extra step to answer questions (or obtain the answers) and make diners feel welcome. The location is easy to access and close to other attractions, shopping, and businesses. The bagels & lox were the best I've tasted and the breakfast burrito was a tasty creation of quality ingredients. The delicious verde salsa served with the burrito surprised me--I didn't even use my favored Cholula, available on the table. The espresso shake was made with a real shot of espresso and was perfect. Ordering a decaf meant getting an americano, but even that was deliciously full-flavored and rich. If you live in or travel to Portland, stop by The Daily Feast. The service, food, ambiance, and value cannot be beat. I ended up going there two mornings in a row, which meant I forfeited the opportunity to try another place. The Daily Feast is that good.

Great Breakfast Experience

By edge8400 |

Great breakfast. Wait was only 15mins for 4 people. Prices were reasonable. Food portions, price, quality and taste were excellent. Staff was courteous and quick. Highly recommended.

Cool spot

We stopped here for breakfast and it was an enjoyable experience. We love the coziness of this place and excellent service. Our breakfast was good and they were quick to refill our coffee cups.

Excellent for a breakfast in the city center

By Leon A |

I visited the Daily Feast twice for breakfast during my stay and Portland. They have a variety of traditional breakfast options as well as a really nice salad with avocado. Beverages such as tea, coffee, cappuccino are also served. The staff was very friendly.

Daily breakfast

By rologo |

Breakfast. Mine was warm, not hot. Not many wearing masks. It was okay, not wow! My bacon looked like it was cooked the day before, and the hashbrowns as well. Toast was as hard as a rock. The eggs were cooked well, but were lukewarm.

Great diner experience with window view into Downtown

By dmurray713 |

If the art deco-esque lettering at the entrance wasn't an indication already of the classic Diner experience, the interior is the sure sign. We had a great breakfast sitting at the window bar people-watching. It's right in Downtown and easily accessible. Tasty classic breakfast foods and coffee. We would have definitely come back for another meal!

Some happy, some disappointment.

By Marla B |

Even though they said it would be a 25 min. wait, it was only about 10 min @ 11:05 on a Sunday. Great coffee $5 (guess this is the going rate), which I don't mind paying if smooth and strong. Server Kathy L was very nice and attentive just enough. REAL Fresh squeezed OJ Loved the vibe in this cafe type diner. Brother had the Smoked Salmon Scramble, which was delicious. I had the daily Benny. Was very intrigued by the crispy potato pancakes instead of an english muffin. They were to die for. Killer and lemony enough hollandaise sauce, but could have used a bit more as the sauce barely covered the egg. Biggest disappointment was big pile of those nasty dry salad greens (it was not noted on the menu) . Had I known, I would have asked for Anything else. Worse, eggs were poached hard, very disappointing. They were so dang busy I could not catch our servers eye to ask them to be redone. Hence the "o.k." rating. Now that I know all this, when I return, I will be more aware.

Great food that introduced me to Portland!

By Jennie T |

The Daily Feast was the first restaurant I visited in Portland, Oregon; not to mention the first I ever tried in the West coast. This was a good start to the vacation I would spend in The Beaver State. My friend and I were greeted kindly by a staff member, who seated us by the window, as the place was already packed in the early morning. The wooden table used to eat was clearly used over time, with cup marks stained all over. But, my attention was more on the view outside; though cold and rainy, I was just pleased to have completed my bucket list to visit Portland. I ordered the corn beef hash with a side of scrambled eggs and sourdough toast & jam, along with their "Feel Better" tea to help with my jet lag. I was nervous to try the hash, as I had never tried it before, but I figured I was in a new town and I needed to be adventurous. It definitely paid off, as the hash was crispy and flavorful. Just large enough for a small eater like me to consume. The eggs were also good, and the toast & jam was a delicious combo as well. The staff was super kind, and I can see why they bring in so many customers. It seems like a small place, but the heart it carries with every meal is what elevates it to popularity. I would come here again.

Vanilla

By Mark S |

Very underwhelmed by the menu at a place listed on Eater's top 18 breakfast spots in Portland. Saw photos for Benedict and more which were not on the current menu. My corned beef hash was standard and my boyfriend's grapefruit, avocado and pumpkin seed salad wasn't dressed... The quality of the food was fine, just uninspired, especially for a city like Portland. They use Spella coffee but don't really know how to do espresso. There's at least 100 restaurants in Portland with breakfast that will knock your socks off, but this ain't one of them.

Made the morning smile at me

Julie - the new waitress- made our stay here so good, we decided to come back the next day. we ordered the "full Monty" and I highly recommend that. Eggs made to perfection , nice fresh fruit, the ONLY breakfast sausage I could actually enjoy in the USA, nice ambiance, great krispy bacon and English muffins and bagels - toasted just right. EVEN THE DRIP COFFEE IS GOOD IN THIS PLACE, and my cappuccino was very good. Great value for a great way to start your day.......see you for lunch tomorrow julie!

3 Mornings in Portland - 3 Breakfasts at The Daily Feast

By Karen P |

The Daily Feast is an intimate down to earth diner, with lots of counter seats in addition to tables. The staff is super welcoming! The freshly squeezed juices are vibrant and the eggs are especially delicious. Maybe that’s an Oregon thing. My husband gave a thumbs up to the banana pancakes and the Eggs Benedict, available only on the weekends, which are served on crispy hash browns. Yum! I ate the avocado toast every day.

Literally the best

Traditional counter diner that has booth seating as well. The menu is great. I had the half Monty and it was amazing. The coffee is good, service so good and personable. You will feel like home here.

Best breakfast sandwich

By wans2travel |

I stopped by this cute eatery prior to a long day odd sightseeing around Portland. Friendly atmosphere and quick service. I loved the open faced egg sandwich served on grilled rye bread. The combo of Dijon mustard, havarti cheese, ham, and fried egg was incredible. A small cup of fresh fruit cut julienne style was just the right amount and so tasty. Loved this place!

The line says how good it is

What can you say about the perfect downtown diner? They have coffee up front while you wait, and it was only a 10 min wait in a Saturday around ten. Diner favorites of course, but with an interesting twist. friendly, efficient service and great atmosphere. I have found my Portland dinner at last.

Perfect breakfast!

Solid selection of diner style breakfast foods. Large portions for what you pay. Great hospitality!!

Poor service

By meix |

Service was poor even when I visited after peak lunch hour. Food was mediocre at best. I might have ordered the wrong menu items for this restaurant.

Cute spot for breakfast

This diner is so cute and the food was fantastic. We had the gall porridge and the breakfast burrito. My husband says it was the best on the planet.

Half Monty w/Judgement

By Sheryl O |

I had considered Daily Feast my new favorite breakfast spot... even had a favorite dish, the half monty. Today s visit has been my last. I arrived this AM, anticipating my usual, only to be confronted by a wait person who accused me of not paying the last time i was there...3 days ago. I assured her that i had, yet she pursued the issue. Eventually, the matter was settled, i had indeed paid, but apparently not the person it was expected to go to. The situation was handled poorly. It was offensive and it was judgemental. What a poorly run establishment!!

Amazing Service - Good Food

By Solo traveler |

We love a good diner and this place is a GREAT diner! We arrived early on Sunday morning hoping to beat the crowd. Our timing was good but just barely. It was about 9am and the place was already filling up. We warmly welcomed and seated after just a few minutes wait for a table to clear. So many good options to choose from. We decided on Biscuits & Gravy and the Corned Beef Hash. Both were delicious choices. We also split a GIANT Beignet. So light, flaky and good. The servers were all friendly and attentive. Offering more coffee, extra napkins, etc. We really enjoyed our visit, loved the food and would definitely stop in again.

Outstanding Breakfasts

We were referred to this restaurant by our hotel, the Paramount, which is about three blocks away. I had a pretty standard eggs and bacon, which was delicious, but my wife got the breakfast fruit and yogurt parfait, which was simply outstanding. In fact, we tried to return there on the final day of our stay in Portland, but the restaurant did not open for another hour and we had a plane to catch, unfortunately, not to also mention that we were afraid of getting trapped by the Rose Festival Parade. My wife was heartbroken and may return specifically for the parfait! This restaurant is very frequented by locals, another testimony to its quality and value.

Amazing eggs benny

I’m from Florida and this was a refreshing change from the diners there. Out of the top ten eggs Benedict I’ve had in the entire world I put this at #9 and it’s very reasonably priced! I highly recommend them!!!

1950's Atmosphere - Great Food

A wonderful place for an informal breakfast and lunch. Old time "corner drug store" atmosphere. Friendly staff and very good food.

Great breakfast!

The food is amazing! We're up here from southern Oregon for some hospital stuff and found this place! 2nd time here and this place is amazing!

Great breakfast in Portland.

My brother in law introduced me to The Daily Feast. There is counter and table seats. We sat at a counter looking outside. The chilaquiles with chorizo was delicious and the portion was easily sharable. Friendly staff and fast service.

Friendly and tasty

Just had lunch there. The chilaquiles were delicious, with just the right amount of salsa and heat. The servers were quite warm and friendly, and the owner delightful. Will go back when in Portland.

Good Breakfast and Good Service

I visited while on a work trip. I chose the muesli which was really good. I would skip the orange juice though. Nice but over priced.

Quaint, homey good food

By M0minga |

Good lunch food, no lines when we got there around 1:30 pm on a Thursday. Fries are McDonalds in size/type but tastier. Also liked the BLT. Liked the flavor of the Thai vegetable soup but not so much the veggies. Quaint building, diner atmosphere.

Breakfast Brunch... Best Place!

By K L |

Thanks for existing Daily Feast! Your made our trip to Portland! Last day, craving a lazy brunch on a Saturday am. There was a wait but it didn't feel long when they have a help yourself coffee which was delicious. Super friendly waitstaff and a-maz-ing food. You must go here!!

Excellent

Wow. This breakfast joint merited two mornings in a row. Friendly staff, amazing breakfast (I had the eggs benedict the first morning and chiquitas the second.) Highly, highly recommend.

A serious feed

Found this place online based on reputation and while we got lost trying to find the place it was definitely worth it. Quaint little decor inside and gave a old school diner feel and the portion size didn't disappoint! Was exactly what we were looking for and set us up right for the day

Great Breakfast!

By Martijn P |

I tried both the full monty and the veggie scramble this week, together with a fresh and cold orange juice and coffee, a perfect start of the day!
