Within walking distance of where we were staying albeit a bit iffy after dark, range of food on offer was good including some English Pies , bangers and mash , pints including London Pride, ESB, Speckled Hen and Magners

I sometimes go to this pub to watch soccer games and it is a traditional English pub with very good beer and food. There are several TVs for watching games and the staff are friendly. For food and drink this is a high quality pub. The big negative is that after games, rather than listening to the post-game dialogue and interviews with players, staff will very gleefully switch off the commentary and put on very ordinary music. Yesterday, a staff member reversed this for a while until another person came along to revert to the music. This is a big negative to my friend and I. All of the people in the pub at lunch yesterday were there to watch the game and I am sure we spent a lot of money. So couldn't we please stick with the soccer and hear the post match interviews rather than putting on music that nobody wants it listens to?

Had dinner here one evening as it was within walking distance of our hotel. Service was good and the food was good too - had a really nice evening here. Only thing that was disappointing was we asked the waitress what time they opening for breakfast and was told 10am - this fitted in well with our plans for the following day going to LAX. We got there at 10am to find it was closed - we knocked on the door as we could hear people inside and was told they only open at 11am - not great!! Other than that if you are staying in this neighbourhood, I'd recommend a visit here.

Being british this was a great find, very freindly busy pub with some great menus choices, especially good value when happy hour(s) 4 - 7pm.

Whether your visit is to watch Premier League football, other sports or merely to sample the convivial, vibrant atmosphere I guarantee you will have a memorable experience. We were visiting from England to watch our team Everton in the Merseyside derby with a great group of fellow supporters who use the pub as a base to follow their team but I would visit the pub for social reasons or to have a meal from the varied and affordable menu as I took advantage to partake of a full American breakfast prior to the 8-15am kick off. There are big screens aplenty in both bars and even outside in the courtyard so you can watch the game in comfort however busy it gets. There appeared to be a variety of beers, wines and spirits to sample and all in all it was a great experience that I would love to repeat though the distance involved may make that unlikely but if I am ever in the area it will certainly be at the top of my list of places to visit.

Above average food - outstanding service - atmosphere very average. Quick in-and-out. Outside and inside seating.

By the last night of our 10 day holiday we were craving English food and vegetables! The inside looked quite traditional. Service was good and Steak and Ale pie was homemade and fantastic!! Prices were also very reasonable.

We came here for a pub quiz last night and it really felt a bit like stepping back into England! They had an excellent selection of british beers, including the ever popular London Pride. The bar staff were friendly and the ornaments, darts board and general atmosphere really lent it an English feel. We were there for a pub quiz (every monday & wednesday), which was a lot of fun! I had the fish and chips which were really excellent - healthy chips, with quality battered and fried Atlantic Cod. I would recommend this place, if you want a taste of my home country, in more ways than one!

Me and my husband where looking for some where to eat, early evening in July. We went to hotel concierge to see where she could recomend. She listed all these places which where in walking distance from the hotel we where staying. She mentioned there was a British pub but it was nothing special and she didn't really recomend it ( probably because she didn't like it) being british ourselves this was great. We went just down the road from our hotel The Garland to the pub. Upon arrival it looked a bit of a mess with a smashed window but it's in the process of being fixed. Confusion on how to get in because the front door looks like a side access door. When inside ,my husband said it's like stepping back in to a British pub. Some classics on the menu like fish and chips, steak and kidney pie, mozzerella sticks. Fish and chips where very nice. I don't appreciate my beans or mushy peas spilt down the side of the bowl. English beers avalible. They advertise Heineken but don't sell it. Reasonably priced. Nice to find some where like home in Los Angeles. Don't let the outside put you off. Could just do with a little tender loving care

British themed menu at reasonable prices and a good selection of beers and drinks.Live music on occasions, Very popular pub!

This is a great neighborhood bar with something going on every night. We loved going for the trivia and the NFL games. Tried everything on the menu and it is all good, maybe the best potato skins I have had. The staff are super nice and will accommodate most requests.

The Full Monty breakfast is what lured me into this pub, which is like stepping into another world. Really enjoyed having breakfast. We got there just as a Premiere League game was ending. Looked like a decent turn out. I'll get the website or call ahead next time to watch a game in full.

My friend and I visited tonight and had food. Both items were $10 on the menu. When the bill came they charged $12 for mine and $14 for my friend's. They weren't particularly friendly and the place was almost empty, but we had to wait ages for the food and the service was poor. The food was also tasteless. My friend is black, so I'm thinking that's why we got ripped off and treated poorly. Don't waste your time or money at this bar.

old favorite of mine from a few decades ago... great little authentic English pub. Get what u would expect and great authentic English pub service. fast draw at the bar and courteous friendly service at the table. Haven't come in about 5 yrs but the full Monty English breakfast was excellent and service and ambiance perfect ... great layout and simple but functional oak tables and solid stools. Christine the lovely English lady at the bar was here my last visit back in 2010... and her warm infectious smile and quick wit delighted again today.... she's an All Black fan which is to say... she is a die hard fan of RUGBY! ❤️👏❤️ But this is a football pub and the beautiful game reigns supreme here!

This is hands down the most fun place in Los Angeles. This is my local pub. Great beer. Unhealthy food. Just plain good times!

Casual Pub atmosphere. but would be fun during the evening hours.---attractive setting--like the outdoor area--food was above average--great sandwiches and beers. Repeat.

I’m not a bar person and although I’ve enjoyed neighborhood pubs in England and Ireland when I lived or visited there, I wouldn’t typically have entered even a British style pub in Los Angeles. However, a British friend was visiting so an old friend of his from England told him about this place. The thing that cinched our decision to come here was that it was Quiz Night. He’s a quiz regular in England and I’d enjoyed it when I visited him. Turned out I’ve driven past this pub many times. I don’t know if I’d ever have come in by myself, but now that I’ve been there, I’ll be bringing friends there for sure. We arrived about 7:45 as quiz was called for 8 . I was happy to find the parking lot in back. But at night there should be easy street parking. As someone else here mentioned, the small unmarked door seemed more like a side door, but we dared try it and we were in. A casual dart game was happening. Small groups were seated at tables. We sat at the bar and as the hour approached, every bar stool and table filled up. The quiz started about 8:20. Beer for my friend, 2 Towns Cider on tap for me, each $7. We both enjoyed each round of the quiz. After the quiz we ordered our meals. I had Steak n’ Ale Pie — “Chunks of steak simmered in Newcastle Brown Ale sauce with a light, flaky pastry topping.” It came with a side order so I selected Mashed Potatoes. It really is light and flaky like described! I loved it. My friend had the Steak and Kidney pie. He felt it was every bit as good as he’d have at home in any of the pubs he frequents. Price or value-wise, it was about the same as in England. We were both quite happy. Our bartender was quite nice, which is how I came to find the drink I liked and she didn’t push another on me when I said I was driving home.

This is a very English pub in North Hollywood ,quiz nights are on a Monday and Wednesday but the question are all about the USA so if you want to play do it just for fun The food is very British with fish and chips ,sausage and mash and much more and very nice and the staff very nice and chatty.

Stopped in for lunch. What a great little authentic British pub, I've been to London and this is pretty accurate. The server was really friendly, the food was good, the burgers and fries are great portions and all for a great price.

As pub grub goes this was ok. Friendly staff but having to wait almost 30 mins for food was slightly annoying. Food was ok though.

On holiday in USA and was hankering after some British “pub grub”, this pub was local to our hotel. The decor is very British pub style, although the Tennent’s Lager retro advertising made me think it would be sold unfortunately it wasn’t but they quite a good selection. The food was varied and there was a selection of the classics. There was also vegetarian options on the menu. Definitely recommended if you’re missing a bit of British food it also does show football matches and has advertised forthcoming UCL coverage.

My husband and I ate here after coming from my jobs Christmas party. It was late and they were like the only place, next to fast food, that was open. The food was not good. Everything tasted generic.

What a buzzing place! I've always enjoyed the ambience of Fox and Hounds, especially when they have a rockin' band performing. It's the real deal as far as an English pub experience in LA. Music nights start late, at 9 and go til 1am and the crowd really rocks for that long, too. Everything's half priced during Happy Hour from 4-7. Food is authentic pub fare...with some interesting specialties like steak and ale pie, bangers and mash, pasties, along with fish and chips, burgers, and even dessert puddings. Their entrees offer various chicken, halibut, steak, shrimp, pork, lamb dishes...so there is something for everybody, including soups and salads. Breakfast is served all day, too! And it's all really really reasonably priced. If you're not into the rowdy set, there are quieter tables outside as well. Overall, a really fun place with tasty food options.

My husband and I were staying at the Garland just a 10 minute walk away & fancied some good old British food, this place doesn’t look much from outside but once you step inside it’s a cosy pub with a great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly, the menu was superb & good prices for LA. Recommend their sausage & mash just like home

I love this place! They have great music, food and ambiance. The staff is great. A must visit when I'm in L.A.

Used this pub several times, great friendly staff, good food and great range of beers. 10 mins walk from the Garland Hotel. 25 mins walk from Universal Studios. Highly recommended. The fish and chips are to die for.

Frequented mainly by locals. I suspect we were the only tourists in there. Very busy with a good selection of ales and a separate slightly posher dining area. Outdoor patio where you can smoke comfortably and without prejudice. Lovely place and worth a visit. Opposite the great Indian restaurant Bollywood Cafe which I’ll review separately.

If you want to drink beer, you can go here. A lot of beer, and snacks for beer. But I can’t say that this place has some nice features. I have not noticed these features in this place. Maybe you will see here features?

Across the road from our hotel El Royale. Had flown from Oz and the room and bed were so comfy and the food and beer here was the perfect ending to a long day of flying. Plenty of craft beers but we only tried a couple. Food decent

service is excellent - people friendly - food excellent / steak and kidney pie with stella - steak pie with guiness / finished off with spotted dick and treeeeeekle. oooooh lala!***

Stopped in for a quick pint and a bite and were impressed when our meals came with really fresh and tasty side salads, the food was surprisingly good for this old looking pub! The beer selection is quite good and they also had a few wines available. The inside of the pub isn't beautiful but it was relatively clean. Prices were decent - meals and drinks for 4 people cost us $75. Overall, better than expected!

This is a pretty good interpretation of a British Pub with the sort of beers and food I would expect to see at home. They even had HP sauce, a rarity outside the UK. Unfortunatleyt they didn't have the pie I ordered so I had a burger which was very good. Much better than some I had had in diners. There was a problem in that I had to hand over my credit card and I saw it being taken to another table where there appeared to be a problem with payment. When I got home I found a charge had been made to my account although I had paid our bill in cash. Fortunately my credit card company refunded the charge but a warning to others.

Stayed across the road at el royale gardens. Visited this pub with the family. Atmosphere was good . Fish, chips and peas to a British standard . Staff friendly, pricess good for los angeles. Worth a visit

Im an Aussie and I know a good pub! This place is amazing. My mum and I were on holidays in LA locating this place a short walk from our hotel. We came in on a Friday night for happy hour (Mon - Fri 4pm-7pm). We weren’t disappointed. The table service was prompt and consistent. The female bar staff were so attentive. Could not fault it at all. The food was hot, tasty, large portions and extremely well priced. We were about to leave and then the band rocked in...we ended up leaving at 1:30am... by far the best night out we’ve both hand since being in LA. Highly recommend for a Friday/Saturday night out. The TV’s all had sport on them and they also have a couple of dart boards. Great English Pub!!!!! Thanks to the ladies for making our night awesome

I found this place at the beginning of the season and now it’s my go to spot for any soccer match! The guys are absolutely phenomenal, always trying to accommodate us even when the pub it’s crazy crowded! ;) This is the kind of place where this happens (pic attached)!

Great selection of beers. The food was quite good. Pretty authentic. Wish I could have watched some football matches here in the morning but time did not allow. When we were there at night, some good live music was taking place.

Welcomed with a complimentary beer. Spent 2 evenings sampling the beers and dinners. Staff very friendly and attentive. Even had a quiz night while we were there. Such fun!

While visiting the Los Angeles area I stumbled upon The Fox and Hounds, a quaint little pub that serves up hearty British fare. Much to my surprise this place isn't connected to other known F&H locations so apparently they're all standalone. In any event, I ordered the Fish and Chips (two piece) which was absolutely yummy! The fish couldn't have been cooked more perfectly and the fries too. Heather, who was tending bar at the time, was most accommodating and a joy to talk to. Come to find out we're actually from the same region which was really cool. All in all this is a place where you feel at ease while enjoying some brew and good eats, and if you're game, there's always darts!

6 of us went the day after St patricks day hoping it would be quieter. There was a group of about a dozen guys in celebrating a birthday and they were so loud but only celebrating. I asked the staff if we could go outside and they were so lovely and wanted to help. We got settled outside and ordered our food. Honestly the food was incredible and massive portions. It all tasted home made and not one complaint. There was so much left and the owner - who was so attentive (and super handsome can I add) brought us over some tubs so we could take the rest back to our Airbnb. The atmosphere was great - staff wonderful and the food FIRST CLASS.

Tired and hungry, we popped in for some food and we were not disappointed. We were served quickly, food came promptly after, all for a reasonable price! Can't beat it! We had the premier League burger and the fish and chips. So tasty!

My son was thrown off by their Irish bacon vs American bacon. I assumed Irish would be more like the Canadian bacon (ham) I've seen. Their American bacon was EXCELLENT. Just how I like it, thick and crispy. I had the bacon, onion rings, bbq sauce burger....Perfect. I don't typically order beer but I'm in a pub so had to do it. They had a good variety and they had 1/2 pint size...again perfect. Outdoor seating is narrow but allowed dogs, which is cool.

Had take out for dinner during our stay. Food was good and decently priced. The staff was friendly and courteous. And there wasn't a super long wait even though the restaurant was crowded.

We were searching for a place nearby hotel that might have a hard cider and thought this pub would be a sure thing. They did have one on tap and one in a bottle. However, the treasure at this place was the deep fried pickles. My husband is an expert and says these were the best he'd ever had. The rest of the food was good, but nothing to write home about. We both really liked the staff. I would go back and recommend it.

Fun to hangout on Friday nights. Great music, good food and great atmosphere. Everyone is there to have a great time! Service is good - need to get there early for a table but also fun to stand and dance to the music.

Excellent food especially the New Zealand lamb chops !! Excellent choice of American and British beer. Darts and entertainment nearly every night.

Cozy place that serves authentic english food. The bar is typically British. Food quality can improve of course.

Real English food, mushy peas, meat pies, the lot. And proper English ale on tap - London Pride and others. EPL on the Telly. And .... great smoking patio with plenty of seating with view of the telly and service. Darts, Quiz nights, live bands. Nice quiet Happy Hour crowd. Gets busy with young-ish, Studio-type, beany wearing hipster zombies later.

I purchased a Groupon which was dine in only so we went on a Saturday and sat at the bar for lunch. We love sitting at the bar and the bartendar was very cool. I ordered a shrimp entree and my boyfriend had the pork chop entree with an additional side of beer battered mushrooms and onion rings. The meal was very good and with the sides that came with my shrimp entree, I had selected a salad & mixed vegatables which were big, I took a lot of my shrimp home, I think there were about 12 shrimp so I got my money's worth. It is not my first time there but my first review of The Fox and Hounds and I will return.

We visited the Fox and Hounds on the back of the fantastic reviews here, however there were a couple of large, very noisy groups in the pub. We ended up with a tall table on stools with no back rest so were very uncomfortable for the 2 members of our party with back problems. The food was average, we'd expected better and were disappointed. We left after we'd finished our meal because the pub quiz had just started which raised the volume even higher.

What a gem of a find!!! This is near to an old Uk pub that you can get. Don't be put off with what it looks like from the outside. Once inside you get a warm friendly welcome. The fish and chips are absolutely fantastic, better than most you will get back in the UK. Wednesday night is quiz night and is a great night, even if we struggled naming the LA baseball team.

Was were staying at the Garland and we stopped here for a drink one evening. Very friendly atmosphere, staff were charming, food looked good! We wished we hadn't already eaten.

We arrived in Studio City for our 2 day layover and needed to relax. We'll that's exactly what we were able to do. This English fare Pub was right across the road from our accommodation and was a cosy place to have a meal and just sit. They have a quite a few TV's all with something different on and the staff were very welcoming. The banter at the bar was great and it seems to be a favourite with the locals. We really enjoyed our time there.

We popped in thinking that the prices were reasonable and that we could get a cheap and cheerful meal and were really pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing, the portions were really good, each of our meals was really enjoyed none of our party had anything negative to say, the hospitality was warm and really helpful (Christine have us local information and tips) we came away and recommended The Fox and Hounds to other guests staying at our hotel.

Made two visits since my hotel was opposite. A good find. Great beer selection and live music at the weekend I was there.

Fox is my nice little pub next door. Just three blocks from my place it is open daily and always ready to provide you a good beer on tap (about 8 or 10 kinds) and a nice burger or some tasty appetizer. It is a bit noisy between Friday and Sunday (usually) after 9:00pm when there are bands playing some rock classics there. The entrance is free and there is no (mandatory) couvert for the bands. Definitely a place that I can never get tired of going to. Only negative for me is the fact that it closes at 2:00am, too early for me, but hey, it's LA, not NY!

Its about time LA got itself a proper British pub. Pub favourites, such as mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and potato skins are a brilliant starter. Down these with whichever pint on tap you fancy. Steak n' Ale pie is a must. Fox and hounds has lain waste to the old cliche that British cuisine is universally reviled.

This is just your average English pub with darts, but the employees are cool and there isn't much to do in Studio City, so it isn't a surprise that it's a local institution. Grab a pint and chill out...that's about all you can do here.

Quaint English pub with entertainment (we were there on a Saturday night) & dart board (bring your own darts). Good beer selection, great bangers, excellent fish & chips.

The Fox & Hound (which, by the way, is in Studio City, NOT "Los Angeles") has been around for decades, but for some silly reason, I never tried it until this past Friday. We arrived at 10 pm and found a tall table right in front of the lead guitar - having had no idea that there would be live music. All we knew was that it was one of the few places in the neighborhood that served food relatively late. I always try to order something that I'm familiar with whenever I try a new restaurant, using my favorite as the standard. In this case, it was the Bangers And Mash (which I invariably order at Ye Olde Kings Head). This was every bit as good, with three very large bangers, a huge pile of fresh mashed potatoes, and peas. That, along with a beer, set me back $17.00, plus tip, which wasn't bad at all when you factor in the entertainment. This is not a large restaurant and it was packed. My friend and I are "mature", to say the least, and we were made to feel just as welcome as the much younger crowd. (The band, four decidedly middle-aged men, with the supremely silly name of "The Lovelies", was absolutely terrific. Seriously. I would return just to hear them. The only problem was the sound level: Not only were we unable to talk to each other AT ALL, but we had to write out our food order for the waiter, because he couldn't hear us, either! Since the room is not very deep, I suspect there wouldn't be any relief even by sitting at the back.) All in all, I enjoyed myself a lot; my friend, not as much.

Doesn't look much from the outside but this quite small bar serves a wide variety of beers, including Bass, IPA, London Pride and local and mexican beers. Basic food like pie and mash and I ate the steak and chips one evening which was OK at around $14. Watched the baseball final match on a big screen and plenty of atmosphere in the pub. Took a group of friends back another evening and they had a Beatles tribute band playing who were excellent. The place was rocking all evening with sing a longs to all the beatles hits. The band mingled with everyone during intervals and were good to chat with. Brilliant evening and apparently they appear once a month. A
Food, Fun and Festivities
My wife and I were visiting Universal Studios for our anniversary and dropped into the Fox and Hounds the night before to enjoy a meal and refreshment. What a fun choice we made. The server behind the bar, Alberto, was a delight. Very attentive without being over bearing. The pours were nice and they had a wonderful selection on tap. We ordered a meal and decided to go with an appetizer, of potato skins, a Sheppard’s Pie to share (good choice as it was large), and green salad. While the potato skins were good they weren’t anything special. The mixed green salad, however, was a mixture of fresh greens with some diced vegetables on top that added color, flavor and crunch. All very fresh. The Sheppard’s Pie was delicious, rich, and filling. The two of us couldn’t finish it. As for atmosphere, we’re talking sports pub here - plenty of screens showing everything from Premier League Futbol to the NBA and NFL . . . all while we were there! Dart boards – REAL dart boards - and real friendly crowd. I’d venture to say from our experience that after two visits it’d be a place where everybody knows your name. It’s just that friendly. Next time we’re in the area we will be stopping in again.
