Beautiful space, rude hostess

By Mi N |

The space is gorgeous. That's probably the only positive thing. We stayed at the hotel and went on a Saturday morning for breakfast in Dec. It was busy! We wandered the hotel for 30 minutes due to the wait and then received a text that our table was ready. We checked in with the hostess and they said they needed to clean the table. That hostess disappeared and another arrived. We waited for another 10 minutes next to the desk and asked the new hostess with shoulder length curly hair about our table politely. She was rude and said she was busy and juggling many things and it was our job to come to her. We didnt complain. We inquired. She dropped us off at the table without saying anything else. Isn't this supposed to be a luxury dining experience? I felt like I was at a diner that could care less. We were guests at the hotel. The breakfast was OK. The waitress was kind. I will not be going back.

Increrdible room and staff. Food superb.

By DiningdevoteeFL |

Enjoyed breakfast everyday in restaurant. Staff greets you as a friend and they recall your preferences in drinks and servings. Had the omellete and you can make it supersized by choosing every option. Did not do that. Like my hashbrowns crispy and both top and bottom were done the way I like it. Short menu buffet option is mostly cereal, sweets and berries. Prefer a full breakfast option. Accessible needs guests need staff assistance to get to Georgian. Not desirable but historic buildings have renovation restrictions. We were escorted back and forth by dining staff. We enjoyed the room and staff for three days. Staff were truly welcoming and guest oriented with sincerity. High tea option also available, if inclined.

Excellent service; food mediocre

By MercedHappytraveler |

I had always wanted to go to the Georgian so when offered the chance to go with friends I was quick to respond. Unfortunately the visit overall was a disappointment. Our food choices were uninspired and several of us were less than pleased with our dinners. There was a long time between courses, which was a surprise considering the lack of patrons. On the other hand, the service itself was outstanding with much time and care devoted to our table. I will give it another chance in a few months & update my review.

Nice Breakfast

By Mark P |

This is a large, pleasant and quiet restaurant. My omelet was good, and so too was the coffee. Service was friendly and attentive.

Fabulous Weekday Breakfast

By FromAlaska |

I came to Seattle for a medical appt. and stayed downtown. The only thing I love more than breakfast is breakfast at The Georgian. They serve the best granola I have ever had in my life. The week day breakfast buffet was really good and the service was fabulous. Juice of the day was orange blueberry and the coffee is really good. I'll be back next time I'm in Seattle. I really should have asked for a sack of granola to go!!

I really wanted to like this restaurant but sadly it was lacking. The space is very nice, high ceilings, light and airy. But the food was just so-so. The foie gras appetizer was not good. It was a very generous serving but it somehow tasted off. The food was nothing special, just typical overpriced hotel food. Service was also pretty lackluster. They did not appear to want to be there. They didn’t bother to clear away the appetizers before serving the main course. There are far better options in Seattle.

Rude Management

By Dawn B |

I brought my daughter here fir her 12th birthday as a high-end lunch and tea experience. The property itself is aesthetically pleasing, but there were some rough spots. I saw masking tape on the walls and it was a little grimy in the corners. There was somewhat of a stale smell to the whole restaurant. When I asked the manager if there was flooding recently (Asian man) in a friendly manner (hey, my house's plumbing just burst, I know the pain!) he he rudely dismissed me and kept shaking his head no as he walked away. The employees and servers were all very pleasant and saved the afternoon for us. As servers and other waitstaff refilled the buffet and replenished the thongs, the same manager hovered over and berated every single thing they did. I asked our girl if he was always like that and she seemed nervous to say yes. The last straw was when a man was opening the front door for his family, an elderly couple included, he walked right out the door the man was holding in a puff. It was odd and rude. Thankfully the day was not completely ruined, I just know bad management when I see it. If they want to keep this establishment running smooth, I suggest the manager gets lessons in serving himself!

Lovely experience but food could be better

By itsasmallworld |

Overall, we enjoyed the Afternoon Tea experience because the dining room was gorgeous, music set the right mood and ambience and service was good. However, food wasn't that delicious. I was delighted to bring my mother and daughter and we made it a memorable experience, but it would have been even better if the food was tasty. I'm rating service as good because the server, although friendly, forgot about our food allergies that we mentioned up front. She brought replacements, though, but that's a critical issue. Without going into a lot of detail, all the finger sandwiches were bland, the scones were a bit heavy and the carrot cake balls were too spicy and sweet. I hesitate to be over critical when it comes to food, but I think the Fairmont can do better. I've been to several Afternoon Teas at various Fairmont Hotels and I'd say this was my least favorite food. I regret having to give the overall experience three stars.

Valet parking

By Mikhail M |

Lunch was nice and service was great, but hotel where restaurant is located was disappointing. They charge 26 usd for 1.5 hours of parking. And restrooms are code-locked (!).

Good food, horrible service

By Travelingbear1000 |

While I enjoyed my meal quite a bit, my friend did not like his at all. And, the service was atrocious.

Great Breakfast

By 57happytraveler |

The Georgian is a wonderful place for breakfast or high tea. Grand room with delicious food and great service.

Exceptional restaurant

By Georgio |

An exceptional restaurant with a warm, inviting ambiance and outstanding service. The breakfast was superb. I ordered the Dungeness crab omelette, and it was truly unlike anything I’ve ever had before. We were looked after by Thomasina, who was absolutely wonderful and made the experience even more enjoyable. I would definitely return and highly recommend this place.

Breakfast Buffet

By labirmingham |

This breakfast buffet was the best! The selection was fantastic and service was top notch. The buffet was on special for 19.99.

Splendid new tradition

By jewelskellogg |

I took my mom to this afternoon tea. It was a stunning dining room in a grand hotel. The tea snacks were scrumptious and so pretty! They gave us a tea smelling tour and it was no problem when my mom changed her mind about what she wanted. The kind waiters were gracious and made our visit very special. We will return anytime we want to mark s special moment in life.

Best Breakfast in Seattle!

By RichardLovesDining |

Go for the buffet! Lots of fruits, little treats and all the breakfast staples. The pork belly was amazing. Eggs were fresh. They had these little magical jars with a perfect balance of poached egg, florentine, spinach and chicken sausage. The space is luxurious and lots of natural light.

breakfast at hotel ....

By MazDavid A |

sadly, unless you book a table for breakfast you could have a long wait, its disappointing really that hotel in USA generally do not offer a B&B rate that is decent. The Continental offering was limited and the coffee sadly always tasted slightly burnt.

May be the most expensive breakfast I've ever had, but it was worth it!

By Brimsmith |

We had breakfast this morning before we hit the road after our stay in the Fairmont Olympic. The waiters were attentive and friendly and the food was great. I had very tasty Eggs Benedict and hash browns. The juice of the day was cherry-orange, which was also good.

Quite a restaurant

By MedicalExec |

It reminds me of a cross between the Copacabana and the sister ships, Titanic and Olympic. It has lavish appointments and fine dining, but quite approachable food that is well and carefully prepared.

Wow!! Amazing Vegan Tea - Catering to special diets!!

By jewels121 |

My husband and I are vegans, so we don't eat any animal products at all. We advised the Georgian of our diet and they said this would be no problem. My expectations were low because often non-vegan restaurants they don't know how to do good vegan food and we end up with something boring and bland. We were pleasantly surprised and amazed by the quality and variety. We didn't feel our vegan diet made us an after-thought. We felt like our meal was treated the same as everyone else in the restaurant. It was spectacular! We were amazed by the presentation and how delicious it was. It was a five star experience all the way! We can't wait to return!! I've already made another reservation to bring a large group of vegan women there for tea. Please see the photos because it was truly amazing!

Eat Well in a Classic Place

By Michael R |

Fantastic restaurant, full of class. Always enjoy eating here and taking out of town guests. It may be the Fairmont Olympic, but to long time Seattle residents it will always be the Olympic Hotel.

Delicious breakfast in a gorgeous room

By HongKongSojourner |

A friend found this place for a breakfast meeting and it was truly lovely. A beautiful dining room (bet the afternoon tea would be great), attentive service, and good choices for breakfast. Actually very reasonably priced, only slightly more than a chain restaurant but of course much more lavish. I had the eggs on biscuits with gravy and pork belly (!). The buffet looked beautiful as well. Convenient to downtown.

Gorgeous setting, confusing charges

By bolts |

Gorgeous setting, with high ceiling and windows. Our hotel booking didn’t include breakfast but we still wanted to experience eating there and went for their a la carte every time. Personally loved their crab and eggs. Our only issue were some of the extra charges. They have lots of fresh juice options, but we were either charged by the glass or not at all. Wish they could’ve explained this while they were taking the order

Delicious Breakfast Buffet

By Lola2012 |

During a stay at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel my husband and I had breakfast at the Georgian in the hotel. We decided on the breakfast buffet, which was amazing. There were so many choices from typical breakfast fare to yogurt dishes, pastries and wonderful selection of fruits. Really a great meal and the dining room is very elegant and beautiful. The service was wonderful as well.

For a great treat

By Senioronabudget |

We took my mother in law to the Georgian for her 85 birthday. The wait staff was marvelous. They treated her like a queen. In addition the food was exceptional. While it is not a regular activity, it is a wonderful place for a special occasion.

Extraordinary service and excellent food!

By markofm |

We were staying at the Fairmont Olympic in Seattle last week and decided to have breakfast at The Georgian our first morning. What a bright and elegant room! We vere greeted at the door as if we were frequent diners even though it was our first time there! Our server, Garu, was at our table right away to welcome us, introduce the menu, describe the buffet, and take our coffee order. My wife and I opted for latte's (after all, this is Seattle) which came out right away steaming hot with a wonderful aroma. We ordered breakfast and everything we tried exceeded expectations. We loved the local cherries. I had steel-cut oatmeal accompanied by fresh honey from the hotel's rooftop apiary. You can't get fresher honey than that! The breakfast was so good we returned the very next day and were greeted by name. When our server came to the table he seemed genuinely glad to see us and asked if we wanted our latte's again. When he brought them out (again steamingly fresh) he asked if I wanted the oatmeal again or if I wanted to try something else on their enticing menu. The Georgian's manager stopped by the table, welcomed us back (by name), and made us feel very welcome indeed! Breakfast was, again, first rate! We can't wait to get back to Seattle to enjoy spectacular hospitality from this extraordinary team!!!

5-star breakfast buffet

By doccao |

Since we stayed at the Fairmont Olympic, it was convenient to have breakfast downstairs at the Georgian. At $22 per person, you get a lot of variety of breakfast choices and a fine dining experience.

Great, amazing Food

By anshu a |

This restaurant is fantastic!! The decor is phenomenal! The staff is great! Amazing food! I got the chef's special which was the wagyu skirt steak and I got the herb crusted lamb and both dishes were out of this world!! Very colourful, very well plated, beautifully cooked and tasted divine!!

Glad breakfast was free

By Patricia V |

Had breakfast twice during our stay at Fairmount because it was complimentary. Egge Benedict and American Style breakfast were fine but not exceptional. Service was fine and room lovely. It is a great hotel and adjoining Terrace Room bar was super. Great bartenders and snacks in the evening.

Not quite up to expectations

By Gardengel-IoW |

Very nice surroundings, elegant as you would expect from Fairmont. We were led to have drink before our table was ready, we were a little early but then called to table late. There is a sit at bar in the restaurant area but the main hotel area is much nicer to sit and wait with a drink. Our waiter, Gary, good and amusing, did forget mash so was comp. Food ok but not great for surroundings and cost- except mash- which was butter with potato rather than the other way round!

THE FOOD AND SERVICE ARE OUTSTANDING

By LindaGG96 |

This place will not disappoint, the food was fabulous. You can order off the menu, or take advantage of the beautiful buffet with fresh fruit, pastries, smoothies and more.

Beautiful Setting

By kendellbrink |

This is a spectularly beautiful restaurant set inside The Fairmont Hotel. We had reservations and were promptly seated. The waitstaff are friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating, making helpful suggestions to enhance the experience. The sourdough bread service is served warm with butter and is very good. The Bibb lettuce salad with radishes and herbs is lightly dressed and quite tasty; it was an ample portion to share. Hubby had the steak frites-it was tasty and juicy, would order it more rare next time. The smoky fries are thin crisps with a little kick. I ordered the gnudji -enjoyed the corn relish sauce but found the ricotta heavy with a sour taste not to my liking. They did offer a complimentary dessert but I declined, the server comped our salad and coffees which was very nice. The other vegetarian option was polenta with artichokes. Great tasting decaf coffee.

Excellent dining ambience with live music!

By Ranga N |

The ambience was spectacular, never been in such a restaurant before. There was live music which made the night even better. We were recommended a sweet red wine, it was amazing, so we ended up getting two bottles. This place is clearly not for vegetarians, we knew it ahead of time but still decided to take the plunge. There wasn't much to eat but that was fine because the rest of the experience was great!

Good a la carte menu for breaki

By Ecowoman |

Had a lovely weekend in the hotel and chose to have breakfast here on the Sunday. Opted not to do the $27 buffet, with too many sweets...and instead ordered the corned beef hash. A good portion size, with lots of meat, and two perfectly cooked soft poached eggs atop. The dish was very good but did lack salt, easy enough to remedy. The room ambience is quite nice, and I had the sofa seat, which was very comfortable. Room noise moderate due to high ceiling. Recommended.

Wonderful Breakfast

By ronster737 |

Staying at the Fairmont. Down for breakfast 2 days. Excellent service and food. Nice bright space. Love the historical vibe.

Romantic restaurant

By Lucia H |

One of the few hotel restaurants that I would describe as romantic. Food was out of this world, and service was friendly and swift. I was stunned to realize after checking my watch that dinner took almost 2.5hrs for my girlfriend and I. This is one of the few times that I haven't been bothered by a long meal, as the staff was wonderful, the music was softly playing, and the booth was a comfy as a bed. We'll be back for sure!!

Disappointing Lunch

By KelseyLockes |

As locals we're well used to the charm of the Georgian and the Fairmont overall, however, we had a less than great experience at for a weekend lunch. I took my mother out hoping for a special treat and found the service to be a little lackluster and the timing from the kitchen was extremely frustrating. We ordered two appetizers before our entrees... my mother's dish came out in reasonable enough time, but my dish, which was "right behind it" according to our server, took another ten minutes to arrive to the table. I didn't want my mother's dish to get cold, so I encouraged her to eat, and so then of course, she was nearly done by the time my dish arrived. No explanation, or what we thought would have been appropriate, an offer to take it off our bill just a quick "sorry about that." The soup itself at that point had such sloppy presentation as well, clearly sloshed up onto the sides of the dish as I'm sure the waiter had rushed to get it to us realizing the error. A very dissatisfying start. I can however say that our entrees were very good and arrived on time, we also shared a dessert, the canele which I would absolutely recommend, our favorite part of the meal. I'd definitely like to return to the Georgian with high hopes the service will match the 5-star convention we're accustomed to.

Great food, beautiful room, friendly attentive staff

By manormeow2 |

Visited for breakfast and another day for lunch. Both meals were great, the staff very attentive, service quick. The salmon was AMAZING. Presentation was beautiful. Definitely not disappointed. They also have afternoon tea, which would be fun. Beautiful room with huge floor to almost ceiling windows, gorgeous architecture, and very nice atmosphere.

Beautiful!!

By mmurphy772 |

The breakfast buffet is wonderful! The room is spectacular! This is a must see restaurant even if you are not staying here! Amazing place!!

Worth Staying at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel for This Restuarant

By Beechlander |

If looking for a hotel to stay in downtown Seattle, it is worth staying at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel so your hotel restuarant can be The Georgian. Adam, Krissia, and Sokun provided impeccable service while I ate my delicious meals last week.

Yummy breakfast!

By Monica |

We stayed at the hotel for a few nights and it was easier just to eat breakfast at this restaurant. The food is quite good and great selections too! With that being said it’s really expensive so be prepared.

Good breakfast

By Diane H |

Our breakfast was delicious and the service was good. The staff needs to keep their voices down when they have opinions. We heard some pretty nasty comments of their guests as they walked by our table. It didn't seem professional on their part. We were lucky the staff were kind to us.

Valentine Breakfast Buffet

Yum!! We decided we like the life of queen and king as we dined in this beautiful room on delicious brunch entrees. You will too!!

Sunday Afternoon Tea Perfection!

By tshire |

If you have ever had afternoon Tea at a Fairmont property you expect a 5 star experience (if not you need to every chance you get!) but, Today, I had afternoon Tea at the Georgian in the Fairmont Olympic & it was AMAZING!!! The service was on point, the food fabulous and the champagne & Tea both perfection! Try the Bella Coola Tea blend if you like your Tea a bit sweet - going to be my new favorite. The cherry scones are not to be missed! The room was beautiful and whisks you away to a time when life was a bit slower & everyone took time to enjoy things a little longer. This will be an Afternoon I remember often & hope to soon repeat!

European Style Service

By Brimsmith |

The atmosphere in the Georgian is wonderfully old world. The room has the elegance of another century. The food is OK, too, although I found the hollandaise sauce on my eggs Benedict a little bland. The service is European, meaning slow. They are slow to come to the table, slow to bring the food, and slow to bring the check. This can be a good thing, if you have time, but if you are in a hurry, not so much.

Afternoon Tea In Seattle is A MUST!

By Chef Ed L |

You have not had afternoon tea until you have had it at The Olympic Fairmont Georgian Room. The room is rich in history. The service is impeccable and the food is amazing. You choose from an assortment of loose leaf tea and they brew it and pour it at your table. The tea stand has an amazing assortment of goodies. Tea Sandwiches, scones, nite size pastries. If you are going to do one thing while in Seattle, have Afternoon Tea here.

Buyer beware

By svaderah |

We went there for MothersDay and were thoroughly disappointed in every which way. To start the decor is tired and dated. The service was perfunctory and the pleasantries seem contrived. But the food or the lack there of took the cake. Oh! there was cake alright, but the other that the pistachio cake none were worth wasting calories on. We were started off with tea and scones, the scones were warm. The sweet savings consisted of 1 overly sweet macron, a small piece of pistachio cake which was good, a small( and I mean small)chocolate cake and a marzipan warped unidentifiable, non descript piece of cake. A chocolate candy which was at par with Guylian candies. All this fit on a small tea plate! For the two of us!! The savory items included a drop of foie gras, the size of a thumbnail. A bliny with sturgeon caviar. NO! No! No! don't get carried away. The blini was the size of a quarter or maybe 1/2 dollar. Now, I am no caviar expert, but I do know that good caviar is supposed to shimmer, but this was dull and listless. In some ways it represents the soul of the establishment. There was crab meat in a , (wait for it) yes, you guessed it small, ice cream cone. Yet it was the highlight of the meal. There was another sandwich the size of a lady's finger and not slightly larger. Both were immensely forgetable. You could ask for second helping, but it was an extra charge. Why any one would do that, is beyond me. All this for only $85 per person+ tax. But Mom got a free glass of champagne, yippee! PS: Be prepared to fork out $26 for parking on your way out. Validate the parking ticket. What ! are you nuts? This is the Georgian.

Excellent Breakfast

By Jeff K |

My wife and I had breakfast here while staying at the Fairmont. They have an a la carte menu on weekdays and a brunch buffet on weekends. We ate on a weekday. I had a crab omelette that had a lot of crab and was delicious. Service was great and the room is beautiful. Prices are high ($70 for 2) but the meal was top notch.

High Tea For My Birthday

By Glowbird59 |

My husband & I came here for High Tea for my birthday. It is certainly an elegant experience. An historic hotel with opulent antique finishes. A throwback to the Gilded Age. The table linens, china & silver were all first rate. Five stars for ambience. The food itself was a disappointment. I had such high expectations. I've had High Teas many times over the years, and the food selection here was not that great. The first course of chocolate chip apricot scones were dry & flavorless. The best course by far was the panacotta with fresh berries. Absolutely delicious. Then the three-tiered tray arrived with the goodies. Not even two whole sandwiches in total. Six triangles...three each. Curried chicken salad was okay. The prosciutto & asparagus was okay. The egg salad in pastry puffs was tasty. The goat cheese filled beet was also tasty. The desserts were well done. A mix of flavors...chocolate petit fors, pistachio raspberry roll, fondant covered cake and macarons. Well done. The tea selections were fine. The servers are well-trained to be efficient & friendly. Wish our server wasn't trying so hard to please. Very rehearsed but I guess that's the Fairmont standard. Glad we tried it. Once is enough. Looked like the regular menu items would have been a better choice. Some other diners were eating the regular lunch selections and everything served looked better (also nicer sized portions) than ours. But you cannot beat the atmosphere! Valet parking was an easy option as well.

Perfect spot for a special occasion.

By shetoksalot |

I took my mother there for High Tea. We both enjoy pastries, small bites, and tea, so it was perfect. The amount of food you are served is quite a lot. It is not a buffet, but formal table service. Each of us go full, and even had food left over. Of course, you go there for the atmosphere. It is beautiful and traditional with first class service. They even have a smaller portion if you wish to bring your kids.

Dine in sheer opulence

By Neil R |

Very regal and stately. Hark back to another era. The place is superbly lit, very grad and serves good food. Sad that the buffet breakfast was inadequate but the a la carte made up for it.

Fantastic food and service

By SR-1007 |

Terrific french toast with top pot pastries as the bread. Juice was orange-cherry, which is now a new favorite. Service was friendly, competent and left us alone when we were talking. The surroundings of the room are luxurious. The view outside is urban landscape. The view is the only thing this place is lacking.

Elegant Room - Downton Abbey Dining

By Jay L |

The Georgian restaurant was just wonderful. The yellow and white room has high ceilings and large crystal chandeliers. We sat on green brocade banquettes and the quiet atmosphere was great for conversation. Lunch started with the best onion soup ever followed by very nice salmon dish. The bread was delicious. The greeters and servers were cheerful and eager to please. The whole experience transports you to another time and place.

Excellent High Tea

By Curious793929 |

Took my mother and nieces for High Tea in 2016. It was wonderful. We really enjoyed the historical period upscale setting

Seared Scallops are a MUST!

By happygator13 |

Wonderful breakfast buffet with great fresh choices. More formal for dinners but with excellent choices. Fresh seafood. I had the seared scallops and they were prepared perfectly. Wonderful staff. Make a reservation.

Beautiful Decor Ordinary Food

By pookala |

This is an extraordinarily beautiful room with high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and sumptuous seating. Oh, if only the food had lived up to the promise of the decor. We had breakfast on our first morning and our meal was so pedestrian we decided emphatically that we would not waste our time on another meal at The Georgian. Service was lovely and they were very attentive but the best of service can't compensate for a lack of talent in the kitchen.

Upscale breakfast with attention to detail

By kirk m |

This was my second visit to The Georgian Room in about a month, both times for breakfast with my family. The experience starts as you reach the stately old building now surrounded by skyscrapers. Despite the changing world around it, the hotel retains the classy elegance of yesteryear with uniformed doormen and a well appointed yet relaxing lobby. It's worth a peek in the ballroom on the west side of the hotel (directly opposite of The Georgian Room). It's not perfect, but it mostly stays true to its high standards. For example, we found a scraggily handwritten sign (not very professional) directing to us to another restroom when one was out of service. However, we also found cloth towels in the restroom, which was more inline with the experience. The Georgian Room itself has ceilings that must be over 30 feet, with a giant chandelier and classic decor, which now seems a bit bland. The staff is friendly and welcoming, so it does not have a stuffy feeling. The service and food is very good, but not contemporary. The yogurt parfait was one of the more original items that we received, and there were some unique options for the continental buffet. We also appreciated the homemade honey from their rooftop beehives. [On our previous visit, we ordered the Apple Fritter French Toast (yes, it's exactly what it sounds like), and of course it was a mistake beyond the 5th bite - even my kids couldn't finish it.] My family enjoyed the details like the toast being served wrapped in a cloth napkin to retain its warmth, and the cute tiny jars of d'arbo jam. The coffee was excellent and bottomless, served in an insulated carafe left on the table, which we appreciated. It's a 4 star experience (not 5) if you're price insensitive. The prices on the menu are high, but not higher than other luxury hotels. Between the four of us, we had two kid buffets, one yogurt parfait, and one omelet and coffee for around $71 before tip. Those prices will keep out most locals. For the price insensitive or the traveler, however, the experience is a good one and I would not hesitate to return.

Enjoyed breakfast in this elegant restaurant

By Nancy O |

We enjoyed the buffet as it was delicious and had a lot of variety. The service is superb! One day I ordered off the menu and that was great too. Would highly recommend it.

Disappointment over afternoon tea

By auntjoyce |

My son is getting married this weekend, and we wanted to give all of our close out of town guests a unique and elegant Seattle dining experience each day this week. We chose the afternoon tea at the Georgian Room because we remembered all of our incredible dining experiences there. As usual, the room was elegant and grand with a lovely table setting and we were seated next to the beautiful glass exhibit case. The service was impeccable with a waiter and an assistant. But unfortunately, the food did not rise to the rest of the experience. We were served scones that were simply not great. There were no flavors that stood out among the tea sandwiches. Each selection lacked the specialness that you would expect at an establishment with the caliber of the Georgian Room. Truly blah and mediocre. The desserts had a nice variation of presentation and flavors. Also, it was embarrassing that we all were shooing small flies away from our food. We were newly getting acquainted with my son’s mother in law and her mother so I decided to not say anything. Despite this, the experience was still nice because it is so pleasant experiencing the ambiance and charm of the room.

Christmas dinner for the ages

By NastysaurusRex |

My wife and I have had Christmas dinner at the Georgian many times and are going with them again this year. They know how to do a Christmas dinner buffet right. Nothing but top notch food, drinks, and deserts. It's a wonderful atmosphere and save some really obnoxious children running about the place one year (not the restaurants fault) it never ceases to please.

Afternoon Tea - Sublime!

By Sue H |

I visited with a friend for afternoon tea - she'd just flown in, and we were in a bit of a rush to get there for our booked time. As we were on our way, we suddenly realised that we weren't dressed for the occasion! Phoning the restaurant, we were reassured that dress code was "smart", but it was up to the individual diners to choose. We weren't dressed that smartly, but we were accepted graciously. The staff were fabulous - very attentive without being annoying. Helpful with the tea choice - the waiter knew his stuff! They dealt with a request for a dairy-free tea with no hassle. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. We'd definitely go back, and I highly recommend it.

Amazing service and food

By Frenchymama |

Special treat at The Georgian- Wine and food were fabulous but again what made the experience and the evening was the service.

A quiet, elegant and large dining room

By JoeBaileyCole |

Very elegant, European feeling to this large dining room, which although handsome, could use some revitalizing by a talented decorator. Basically it needs more color and larger displays of flowers and furnishings. But the food was wonderful. I had a tomato and watermelon salad, and my friend started with a salad of root vegetables. Then followed seared sea scallops with red wine risotto, and Alaskan halibut in a bowl of risotto and kale and soysauce on the side. Accompanied by a Chateau Sainte Michelle Sauvigion. Excellent service from a knowledgeable waitress, comfortable seating, plenty of room between tables. A quiet restaurant where conversation was easy. I will definitely return.

Pork Belly Biscuit and Frittata

By Jen S |

We marched up the hill from Harbor Steps to eat breakfast here and it was worth it. The room is massive and ornate. We got there at a lull in dining so we pretty much had the restaurant staff to ourselves and they were amazing. Very genuine and eager to offer recommendations and take care of you. The best restaurant service in Seattle. We barely made it in time for breakfast and while the buffet looked pretty great I had to order the Pork Belly Biscuit. The dish was beautiful with the open faced biscuit holding the pork belly and egg sitting on top of the gravy. The biscuit was unlike any other biscuit I've ever had. Thin and crunchy like a cookie, and sweet tasting - it's no southern biscuit but it was good. I forced everyone at my table to try it. Beware of the cost of the morning mimosa - $12. Almost as much as my breakfast meal.

Going from Special Occassion to Perfect Occassion

By Joan H |

We enjoyed the most wonderfully prepared meal of the decade. This was a large family celebration and every one of us felt the the honored guest. Perfect menu. I tried the three course dinner and was delighted with the meal-our appetizers included roast asparagus and the chef sent over an oyster for each of us!!! Equal to the food was the service. Friendly but not intrusive. Excellent venue....what can i say it felt like we left the world and entered our own palace. Just beautiful.

Ideal breakfast

By adalbert3 |

The breakfast/brunch buffet looked very inviting, but we are not historically breakfast buffet lovers. We ordered off the menu, and both thoroughly enjoyed our Crab Benedict (rare that we both order the same thing). The room is formal, yet very warm--it has high ceilings with numerous tall windows---the morning light streams in, and with every sip of your coffee you get a little more ready to take on the day. We appreciate formal, upscale food quality breakfasts, that provide professional service---you get all that here. By the way, if you like buffets, it looks very enticing.

Legendary

By Reasonable50 |

A white tablecloth blast from the past. Elegant. Iconic. Luxurious. We had the breakfast buffet each morning during of our week long stay. The buffet on the weekends had some additional hot items. The quality was exceptional. I could not resist the fresh and perfectly prepared pastries! Highly recommend.

Nice but very expensive breakfast

By nkettani |

The breakfast experience was OK. Expensive for what it is. The choice of the buffet is weak. The a la carte is good but very expensive

Excellent, with a caveat

By Jeff S |

The caveat: we only ate at The Georgian for breakfast. First, this was much better than a standard hotel breakfast offering, and the service was superb. The service is a big reason for the excellent rating.

Grand Room with Vaulted Ceilings at Breakfast Feels Like You're Royalty!

By Zack C |

What a great way to start the day with breakfast at the Georgian. Start with coffee and juice and then choose from the chef's special creations or simply create your own egg dish. If all of the menu items is too much to decide from, you can pick the small buffet breakfast with fruit, juices, yogurt, granola, pastries, and cereals. Everything was quite tasty and the staff were very attentive.

Bread Pudding to Commit a Crime For...

By Mkollman74 |

Often the best meals are comprised of simple foods that are perfectly made. In my opinion, that is precisely what a brunch should be. My family gave the Georgian a try for brunch during our Christmas shopping spree, and discovered what many have known for years -namely, brunch at the Georgian is something to experience. Everything was well prepared and delicious. Their straightforward Bloody Mary is among the better ones I’ve tasted. The pastries were beautiful, and the sausage wonderful. Overall, the star of the show for us was the bread pudding. A delight to be sure. Elegant in its simplicity, it thankfully avoided the fussiness that is all too common when restaurants try to “chef up” a traditionally rustic dish. I think my wife is making plans to get the recipe by any means required... My eldest daughter may have a promising smuggling career ahead of her...

Breakfast was heavenly

By Gina A |

My daughter selected the buffet which was wonderful and varied. I chose fromthe a la carte menu-- the eggs benedict and crab benny were superbly executed. And the fresh juice was a perfect accompaniment!

Take a step back into the world that’s far gone

By Tatyana R |

Located inside historic Olympic Fairmont, Georgian offers to take you 100 + years back. The beautiful architecture and splendid decor create an atmosphere of old money luxury that’s hard to come by these days. From elegant flowers at the table to actual silver silverware, no detail is missed or overlooked. Food is marvelous: you can order a la carte or choose a buffet. I had steel cut oatmeal with berries and smoked salmon avocado toast, both were amazing! Highly recommend! It’s an experience and memory that will be well worth it.

Great place to grab a bite

The restaurant is sumptuously decorated and service is very professional. I came for afternoon tea and it was a satisfying experience.

Beautiful breakfast

By jocelyng793 |

My husband and I were staying in Seattle for a business trip and were trying to find a good breakfast buffet. The Georgian was amazing. Food was delicious, constantly being refreshed, and service was excellent. The hotel it was in was classical and gorgeous. I was so impressed. If I came back to Seattle would definitely want to stay there and have breakfast there again. Loved it

Afternoon Tea

By Carol I |

Have come to the afternoon tea at the Georgian Room for the past ten years. It is a very beautiful, elegant place for a special treat. We’ve come during the different seasons and the décor reflects the essence of each with flowers in the spring and summer. We enjoy the autumnal, harvest color. Then, the light-filled winter holiday décor from October to January makes you feel warm and cozy. Service is always grand, very attentive. We have enjoyed the delicious tea choices along with scrumptious savory and sweet accoutrements. The opportunity to plan, get dressed up, and valet to our afternoon tea is all a part of a special time in the city with your friends and family.

The Georgian: One of the best reasons to stay at the Seattle Fairmont Olympic

By WestCoastJTB |

Hello, fellow traveler...I am in Seattle for the July 4th weekend and staying at the Fairmont Olympic in downtown Seattle, just a few blocks away from the waterfront. Just had brunch at The Georgian, the hotel's main dining room, located right up the steps at the end of the main lobby. At The Georgian, you are served in an airy, high-ceilinged space that offers everything you would expect from a hotel at this level. Without hesitation, I rate the experience as five stars right down the list. If you are staying in the hotel and reading this review as a quick check, do yourself a favor...drop the reading and just take the elevator down. I am not a member of the staff or a local; I tell you this up front because you may have some reservations about what appear to be overly positive reviews. I do have a background as a writer and I am a well-traveled person, so my reviews have a "travel and leisure" feel to them I do "accentuate the positive" as well, but I am no pushover. If you see a negative review under "tiptaker58," please pay heed! A "place to be avoided" is just that. Back to The Georgian: Fairmont hotels in urban settings in the United States and Canada are always well-situated in vibrant locations that invite the traveler to sample the range of dining options that the city has to offer. In a town like Seattle, this means everything from the dockside clam shack to higher end dining at the city's finest establishments. But on a Sunday morning at 10:00, you are probably more inclined to brunch in the hotels' own dining room, hoping for a quick route to a welcoming table, attentive staff, and a buffet table or standard menu proffering classic choices as well as local favorites. Luckily, The Georgian Room is just that quick elevator ride away. Given dietary restrictions (which come off from time to time), I tend to stick with fresh fruit, simple breads, maybe a smoothie, and coffee. If this sounds like you, there will be no disappointments at The Georgian. Starting with that cup of coffee: don't forget that you are in Seattle, where the standard for a great cup of coffee is very high. If it's a smoothie that suits your taste, you are in luck: sample both the fruit-based and the protein-rich options The latter is far tastier than you might expect...and since it's at the buffet, feel free to indulge that new taste. When having brunch at The Georgian, be sure to consider both the buffet and the options on the main menu...don't hurry to a decision favoring one or the other. I opted for the buffet plus sides from the main menu, and found the right balance and at the right price. The tab for my brunch, which did select from both, was just under $30.00 including tax. If you are at the hotel and are already bound for The Georgian, look for the the "parfaits" at the buffet table. In French, the word "parfait" translates to "perfect," a word that applies easily to these delicious multi-layered cobblers in strawberry and blueberry. Traveling with your kids? How about a Captain Crunch/Peanut Butter and Jelly parfait? "Perfect" for them, but be sure to help yourself...they bring out the kid in anyone. From the main menu, give thought to the "Lemon Ricotta, Peach Poundcake French Toast," or, if you want to power up for the day, "Steel Cut Oats," a selection that combines candied pecans, stone fruit chutney, and banana chips. Traditionalists can opt for favorites that are already close to home: Eggs Benedict or a stack of buttermilk pancakes. An unexpected signature dish is the the "Honey Bee," a mixed berry-and-granola, honey-cran-muffin delight, served up with honey-infused tangerine juice. The unexpected twist? The honey comes from honeybees in the aviary right up on the hotel rooftop. An inventive program to support the challenged honeybee population serves more than one interest, including what is presented at your own table. The Georgian is open for brunch in the morning until 11:00. It is a popular brunch venue, and so a call in advance may be a good idea. Cast members to look for in the dining room include Mallory (host), Oahnh (server), and Mieke (manager). Mieke is fresh from the Fairmont hotel at Lake Louise, sister hotel to the property in Banff, Canada and brings much hospitality experience to your experience at brunch.

Absolutely fabulous

By Mary G |

We ate here while staying at the hotel and if was excellent. So many choices at breakfast, both hot and cold. The room was extremely elegant, a reminder of days gone by. Loved it.

Old world class that has been missing

By Gordon B |

The ambiance is grand. Very tall ceilings with huge crystal chandeliers. The soothing sound of charm that encourages a pleasant conversation with your companion. The professional attention and service of the staff. Top that off with a meal that is hard to equal. You just can't find this combination any longer. Sure it cost a little more. But it's not the Outback after all.

Great breakfast! Expensive but worth it!

By Linden D |

We had breakfast twice at the Georgian while staying at the Fairmont Olympic. I don't think we have ever paid that much for breakfast but it was definitely worth it. Dining room was elegant. Service was prompt but not invasive. Food was excellent. Definitely worth every penny!

We had a great time and excellent food.

By b922311 |

Excellent restaurant for hotel. Great service. A lot of space between tables. Prices are right for dishes. I will came back!!

Romantic setting and ambiance!!!

By Phi A |

Excellent foods, no complaints except for the price(but the beautiful dining room makes up for the price they charge) Had the oysters, scallops and the exceptional souffle, Excellent!!!!

The interiors are beautiful and so are the appetizers !

By Aashish_Gaarg |

Been to multiple fine dining and even though I would not rate this right at the very top, there are some great things about this place: a) Beautiful entry through the hotel's very beautiful lobby. Beautiful carvings on the wall. b) The interior is gorgeous - large windows, tall roofs - overall a very royal look. c) The appetizers are very innovative - we ordered about 7 on the menu. d) The choices of entrees is a bit limited and we found them nice though not necessarily very innovative.

Elegant Brunch

A Wonderful Sunday Brunch, reasonably priced with a WONDERFUL selection of choices!!! he atmosphere was calm, the room beautifully decorated , and the food perfectly prepared!

All around beauty!

By weecolt |

I went for the beautiful dining room for a quiet relaxing late lunch. As always, the food was very good, the presentation of the food matches the beauty of the room, and the staff were very attentive. It was another wonderful experience at the Georgian, no disappointment.

special honeymoon meal

By Steve H |

For the last night of our honeymoon, we decided on a little luxury. We had a room booked at the Farimont Olympic Hotel and a table at their Georgian restaurant. We both went for the set 3 course meal and were both very pleased with the service, the quality of the food and the opulent surroundings. It was the perfect end to a wonderful honeymoon!

Delightful Breakfast

By HarlanJF |

I make sure I eat breakfast every day at home, but it's never this nice. The buffet was more than sumptuous along with a full variety of menu items. The service was great, the music low and the decor was very upscale. The experience was totally relaxing, which may or may not be a good thing early in the morning. Hence the coffee.

Wonderful experience overall

By Ken M |

Sunday morning brunch, atmosphere was high end, food was good and the waitress was very attentive to everything we needed.

Great food, great service

By calnevatraveler |

4 of us for dinner with a prix fixe menu for Rocky Mountaineer customers. First thing you notice are the pair of musicians for this cozy restaurant. The dinner & atmosphere is conducive to spending time in conversation so we spend nearly 3 hrs there. Service is constant from start to finish & it's done in a way to not disturb the thread of our conversation. BTW we had seared scallops, filet mignon & one dish prepared to be gluten-free.

Solo lunch was fine

By FrogLady72 |

I had lunch alone today while my husband was off touring the Boeing plant. When I arrived, they were very solicitous, and when I explained that I was having trouble walking, they graciously seated me at a table near the entrance, a table obviously meant for at least 3, but it made it much easier for me. Lunch was pretty simple -- a glass of wine and a grilled cheese that included melted cheese curds and avocado on grilled sourdough. Don't get suckered into the bread they give you as an appetizer -- I tried a piece (excellent!), but probably not a good idea when you're getting ready to eat a sandwich! The restaurant was probably a quarter full at noon, and everything seemed to be running quickly and smoothly. The room itself is a little gaudy, but beautiful -- windows with sheers that must be at least 20 feet tall, lots of potted palms, spider mums on every table, gladiolas in the middle of the room to just die for, huge ceilings, all very beautiful. I can't vouch for much of the food, but what I had was well worth the expensive cost. Go ahead, treat yourself.

Save your money!

By Krisinseattle |

A lovely venue but quite expensive! Love the idea that they have a rooftop garden to grow vegetables and have been hives to collect their own honey. Food was well prepared and very nicely presented by professional waitstaff. Dinner for two with two glasses of wine, and two cocktails, a shared salad and two entrees came to over $200.00 so save your dollars for a special occasion.

Please Pamper Me!

By susafoxSeattle |

This restaurant is more of an experience than a meal. The room is massive, perfectly decorated and represents a timeless style that you just don't see in more contemporary settings. We've dined here several times, it's a go-to place for very special occasions. They have a private room which can be booked for special occasions which makes the special event even more spectacular. Staff here are trained to be very accommodating, taking care of their customers far beyond serving a meal. For example, the color of cloth napkin you are given depends on what you are wearing: dark clothes require a black napkin, lighter clothes warrant a white one. If you want an excellent meal where you feel pampered, this is the go-to place.

Terrible service with sub par food in a beautiful room. Not worth it!

By Amy M |

Sad to write this review as I searched so many reviews myself prior to booking New Year’s Day Pre Fixe Brunch with my family of 4. Reservations @ 2 PM and we were sat pretty quickly. The room is stunning, beautiful, albeit very expensive experience. We waited 30 mins for water service; not even coffee, juice or mimosas. Finally asked for a waiter and ordered. Our teens both had the 3 course ($80) and they were out of the only meal they were excited for (chicken lollipop). Everything was sub-par. We had smoothie bowl, caesar salad and yogurt parfait. Scones were OK. Main meals not great, had the crab avocado toast, burgers and pasta. Toast was terrible, pretty sure it had sat for a while waiting to make its way to the table. My son ate the pasta because he was hungry. We could have had the burgers anywhere for 1/10 of the price. We were ready to ask for desserts to go by 3:30 as we just wanted to pay and leave.

only breakfast but a special treat

By OldGuyEmmett_Id |

An absolutely beautiful room, Choice of items is great, service is perfect. of course it is, to my experience, very expensive. They aren't serving dinner at this time but that would be a real treat

wonderful ambiance

By vagabond2004 |

great setting and airy/light for breakfasts. Friendly staff, limited menu and very limited buffet. Breakfast was good but tended to favor the full American/English breakfasts. I'm more the grab a croissant and run type of person so can't comment much more.

One of the most elegant restaurant in Seattle. Top shelf all the way. Food, Service ...First Class. Classic Hotel and lobby, you will enjoy the experience.

Great drinks and snacks

By Bolero49 |

In town visiting and came here with former coworkers for Friday evening drinks and appetizers in the bar. Wine and martinis were top notch. Not necessarily so with the food. I'm judging the bar here not the main dinning room We ordered mini-hotdogs, sliders and duck fries for four of us to go with our drinks. * Mini-hotdogs (2 3" hotdogs for four of us) were ordinary. Really nothing special. Served with whole grain mustard with little flavor. * Sliders were plain (2 about the size of a silver dollar for four of us). Tiny hamburger patty on a bun. Nothing else but a baby bottle of ketchup. * Duck fries were simply tiny shoe-string fries over seasoned with garlic. I love garlic but it's not a good seasoning for duck fries. Over powered the flavor of the duck fat they were fried in. With that much garlic, you'd never know they had been fried in duck fat. Might as well have been vegetable oil for all it was worth. This is a great place for evening drinks in the bar. I'm not judging the main restaurant here. Only the bar. We did not sit in the main restaurant nor did we order mains. Only drinks and appetizers. The atmosphere is old school high class money. It's very nice, comfortable and a beautiful place to be. It does make you feel special and the customer service was awesome. I simply was impressed with the appetizers.

Say what?

By MAC81667 |

My husband and I had a reservation for High Tea during the December holiday season. They made it seem like it was completely booked and super special, but when we arrived, there was a spattering of people. And I have to say the "high" in "high tea" is related to the price only. There was nothing extraordinary about the event. Yes, it is a pretty environment but for $65/pp, I would have expected a string quartet, much fancier and abundant treats. I liked the way they accommodated vegetarians but again, for some bread with shmear, and a couple of bites for desserts, it was way over priced. At least include a glass of champagne for that price...

Breakfast Buffet Can't Be Beat!!!

By DADeetz |

Yes it's $29.00, yes that's a lot for breakfast, but it is all prepared perfectly, service is outstanding and the room is beautiful with fresh flowers and fantastic old world charm and decor. Dress code is just shoes and shirts, but most people do look better than that. It is the fine dining room in the Olympic Hotel and the Hotel itself is worth the trip for breakfast. It's worth doing at least once on any trip to Seattle.

Amazing Anniversary Diner

By free0ne |

We went with another couple and all 4 diners were excellent. The service was outstanding and the interior of the Georgian Room was first class. We never felt rushed thru diner. We will return for another special occasion.

Lovely place for brunch or breakfast

By Hawaiian Canuck |

The service was impeccable. The room was beautiful and reminded me of being in a giant hand carved room made of butter. The best part was the reasonable prices and the tasty food. Loved my breakfast BLT...the addition of the sausage gravy for dipping was excellent. Do stop by. Our server Oang (?) was fantastic. She is a credit to the hotel.

Beautiful building and restaurant.

By Diane B |

I haven’t been to this new restaurant and from the appearance and aesthetics of it as it is modern and stunning. I felt as though I was in Europe or a movie with the large round light chandeliers. Very sleek and the staff were perfect. The food was so-so. The roaming scone tray - fabulous and that spicy whipped butter and jam. Yum! The melon gazpacho and salmon plate - also delicious! Unfortunately, we both ordered the same entrée which was some sort of a modernize biscuit and gravy with two prawns and an egg. The fried egg was overcooked and shoved on the canon soaked biscuit which was TOO salty and I just can’t describe the texture - but both of us sort of messed the plate up and ate the egg and parts of the biscuit that was not saturated. I would NOT recommend ordering this dish. Overall a stunning building and when we walked out to bar area they had a tea setting so I’m banking on that experience next time rather than brunch.

HANNAH IS THE ANSWER!

By Jim A |

We were downstairs having some beverages and met Hannah as our server. What an incredible person. She made our day. She was so friendly. We had some time to converse with her and she is simply a Fairmont Superstar. Hannah made our day. She shared with us a little about her life, and it was such a wonderful experience. We will com back because of Hannah.

Excellent way to start the day!

By MikeC |

When I used to travel worldwide for about three decades, I used to stay in four or five star hotels everywhere. The elegance, level of service, quality of food, and top drawer decor was wonderful - and expensive. On a recent trip we stayed at our very nice Athletic Club in Seattle, and thought we'd try to find a place where we used to start our days when in wonderful cities all over the world. We wanted white linen, crystal, quiet murmurs yet not dead silence, wonderful service in beautiful space. We found it at the Georgian Room at the Fairmont Olympic. Very friendly and well trained staff, fabulous buffet with chef-created items (yes, scrambled eggs do vary from awful to wonderfully light' cheesy soft scrambled), the best croissants we've had since France, a fabulous caramel carrot honey bread with all sorts of adornment. Well served with all the extras. And a bargain with all juices, coffee , tea at $27 per. Lovely.

Breakfast a winner

By greatmogul |

The breakfast is every bit as good as the other reviewers wrote. We both had omelets. Best choice of fillings that I’ve ever seen. Hash browns a bit overdone. Service friendly and professional. Prices reasonable for downtown hotel. Room and ambiance great

Was so nice to have a wonderful breakfast delivered to our room and it was pipping hot with all the trimming linen table clothes and napkins we had a table in our room and even put fresh flowers on our table. Very nice

It's like having a meal in Buckingham Palace...

By Jeffrey C |

...and my daughter said "Daddy!... I think that's the Queen of England sitting by the window!" (Of course the elderly lady at the table by the window WASN'T the Queen but in a grand dining room like this?... it could happen!) Have been here for just 3 meals, ALL EXCELLENT. #1 and #2 were Thanksgiving Buffets a few years ago... spectacular showcases of all things edible and wonderful. "Costs too much!", you say! Get over it and go give yourself a treat to fun food and superb service from friendly folks. Eat all the shrimp you want, try the prime rib and go dip a luscious red strawberry into the chocolate fountain. Visit #3 was for breakfast about 2 weeks ago, at which time I enjoyed a most delicious omelet packed with costly sweet Dungeness crab meat and small Oregon shrimp. My wife had the buffet and it made her happy for the rest of the day! So next time you are at The Fairmont, don't just peak into the Georgian Dining Room... ask if you can be seated!

Small portions but good quality

By Laurie |

The service is great and the atmosphere is amazing. The portions are on the small side, and it is a bit expensive. Usually a $25 lunch sandwich and salad is enough for two. The salad was really skimpy. The sandwich had only one piece of bread which made sharing difficult. Everyone should get their own menu item!

Breakfast in stye

We had our breakfast at this restaurant whilst staying at the Fairmont Olympic hotel in Seattle. We enjoyed the experience however it is rather pricey but convenient . Beautiful diningroom with good service.

Tea Time at the Georgian

By hatrikim |

Each month we go to a different afternoon tea, and this day we were at the Fairmont for a couples weekend, so after checking out of our amazing room we went on Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed the champagne afternoon tea. The service was outstanding. The tea menu selection was delicious, and they even helped with a food allergy to make sure our selection was 'safe'. On a funny note, the night before they had a huge and beautiful wedding reception in the Georgian, and come Sunday morning, all was back to a beautiful tea area. Someone worked real hard to pull this off, but they did. We also purchased some tea to go which was a treat for later to remind us of our great time. Will go back for sure!

Excellent lunch

By obrienjo |

Delightful service. We were allowed to sit and talk well after lunch was ended. I really enjoyed every appetizer and entre. A great place for fine dining and a lovely atmosphere with tables far enough apart to be very quiet and allow private conversation.

Wonderful for a special occasion!

By shetoksalot |

My mother and I went to the Georgian Room for high tea. I expected it to be fancy and wonderful, but found it to also be quite filling. This is a full meal and then some. The service and surrounding are elegant as expected. The savory and sweet items were both excellent. You don't get to choose what you get for the most part, but I ate one of everything.

Always an elegant breakfast

By adalbert3 |

The high ceilings, the tall windows, the beautiful chandeliers, gorgeous flower arrangements and the starched white table cloths set the stage for a relaxing and very civilized way to begin your day. Sunny mornings are divine, as the sun streams in to create an upbeat and positive feel. Many people thoroughly enjoy the extensive buffet that they offer--we prefer to normally order off of the menu. It is expensive as far as pricing on breakfasts, but we have never been disappointed and have been many times. Check out my photos for more details.

Thanksgiving Feast

By B_and_MJ2014 |

This year (2015) was the fourth time in the last 10 years or so we've had Thanksgiving dinner here. This year, like every other time, was outstanding. Appetizers and dessert are buffet, with the main course a selection from four items. The main courses for our table were each very good, but the real reason to eat Thanksgiving dinner here is the appetizer buffet--it is amazing. A great variety of seafood prepared in a variety of ways (like both smoked oysters and oysters in half shell, salmon in a couple different ways, etc.). Also a wide variety of meats, cheeses, fruits. Everything was perfectly prepared. And the service, like always, was outstanding.

the Terrace will be our new holiday tradition

By LLori |

Every year we hit the Fairmont for their Festival of Trees and Teddybear Suite. Typically we reserve at Shuckers, but this time we opted to eat closer to the lobby so the kids could enjoy the trees and gingerbread house. The Georgian was closed for the evening, but we sat on the Terrace to dine. Same kitchen, same caliber of staff. We have had breakfasts and lunches at the Georgian previously so knew what to expect. Eating at the Terrace worked out to be the best for our families with kids ranging from 1.5 to almost 9. We ordered one of everything from the happy hour menu plus other dinner options. Usually restaurants dumb down happy hour items, but here The Terrace gives you the best of everything. From house made pretzels to quality condiments, we lacked nothing. The service was slow paced but that gave the kids another chance to go to the Teddybear Suite. Happy hour was reasonably priced, especially when compared to the Georgian!

One of the BEST Breakfasts I have ever eaten!

By Kevin K |

We went to the Georgian for breakfast and it is a great treat. The room is very ornate with huge windows and chandeliers. I usually get a buffet for breakfast but the menu items looked great so my wife and I ordered off the menu. She had a smoked salmon toasty and I had the avocado crab toast. Wow they were great. The service was top-notch. The waiter remembered us from one day to the next, recalled my wife is gluten intolerant (they can work around gluten with gluten free options) and that I prefer milk with my oatmeal. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60878-d432600-r653327538-The_Georgian-Seattle_Washington.html#

Go a la carte at breakfast

By Jonathan |

I know that for many people staying at the Fairmont Olympic, the breakfast buffet is included as part of your business stay. But if it isn't, you definitely want to go a la carte for some of their breakfast dishes. All three of us in our party ordered a la carte and were VERY happy about what we got, but we were all BLOWN AWAY by the Breakfast BLT that I ordered! It was, without a doubt, one of the tastiest breakfast creations I have ever had with a TON of flavors going with it! I'm just sorry it filled me up because I still wanted more of it!

Family brunch

By Ptish |

I was in town to visit my sister and her husband, and they took us to brunch to the Georgian as a special treat on our last day, what a wonderful time we had! Top class service, food, and decoration, this is the best I've had in Seattle by far. We shared the honey glazed pork belly with truffle, and the foie grass pate as a few of my fave. Will return!

Very good breakfast

By MrBill W |

We had breakfast at the hotel at the Georgian/ I had the American breakfast, Bacon and eggs and hash browns. My wife had the freshly made of your choice omelet. The were both very good.

Was so happy with lunch I came back again the next day with friends

By J P |

The Georgian is a top search for local quality and menu. Fairmonts don't usually have good restaurants, so wouldn't have been able to convince my lovely one to try, but had a Friday to myself during a Seattle work trip so took the opportunity myself. I was worried I might not get in, without notice dressed casually & by myself. However, there were no issues when I was greeted and escorted to a great table in the gorgeous dining hall. The lunch menu is well priced (multiple main courses under 20) with many attractive options. It was the seared scallops and pork belly option that lured me in, but I changed my mind and ordered the the open-face dungeness crab sandwich - which turned out to be an excellent choice. Highlights were the fresh crab, delicious pesto, a generous included salad, and homemade butter. The server gently tried to up-sell me for an appetizer or dessert, but it was more than enough food for me and I left happy and full. The only downside was the garlic fries were bland, and came with commercial ketchup (homemade aioli or ketchup would have been ideal). After tax the bill was still under 20, and for the quality, quantity and lovely service I left a large tip. I was so impressed I made a reservation and came back the next day with 3 friends, for drinks and lunch (which was useful as it was Saturday by this point and packed). This time had the scallops and pork belly which was also delicious, but not quite as perfectly rounded a dish as the crab/salad combo (which others ordered this time). Would absolutely recommend & return!

Elegant and delicious

By Kenneth Pages |

It is located at the Fairmont and was just a couple of blocks from where we stayed. Walking by it on the street you notice the beautiful decor. We knew immediately we wanted to go there. The restaurant was quiet and no one else a the bar but us. We received excellent service Greats service from Rhys are bartender. Everything was very good. We shared the hamburger which was waygu and it was so delicious.

Have a Good Breakfast and Be On Your way

By jrftrav16 |

Previous visits to the Georgian Room for Sunday Brunch have been very satisfying, but a Monday morning breakfast was just serviceable. A middle of the road Omelet and ordinary Continental Buffet. with limited choices got us on our way.

You have to go at least once to the historic Georgian

By loriearl |

This was so fun. Located in the Fairmont Olympic Hotel. It has been there forever. You can order a 5 or 7 coarse meal or there are separate entrees you can order. We loved the experience of trying all of the different courses. It takes a while so don't go if you are in a hurry. Enjoy the experience. The scallops were so great and cooked to perfection.

Disappointing breakfast for the price

We just had a 5 star experience at the Fairmont hotel, however, breakfast was disappointing. 30 minute+ wait to get seated, I wish we had been warned at checkin. It was busy, but another 40 minutes for omelettes and pancakes for the kids. Had to ask 3 different people to get a to-go box for the leftover pancakes. Waiter made a big deal out of asking if we wanted want Tabasco and ketchup when ordering, we all said yes, none showed up. Omelettes were fine, served with a square slab of hash browns, zero decoration on the plate. Had to flag someone down. We only had coffee to drink and the bill with tip for 4 adults, one kid $150, ouch. We will be back to the Fairmont, but sadly not to the Georgian. Beautiful restaurant, but disappointing service and food.

Beautiful and Delicious

Overpriced for lack of service

By Sun and surf 72 |

Every year we drive up with friends to experience the wonderful event, the Georgian holiday tea. This event is pricey ($95 for adults $45 for kids) but well worth it. Until this year. We arrived and were seated. In past visits the server has brought us over to the tea selection area to smell the different teas. This did not happen. We were asked what we wanted to drink and the server left. She returned with our teas and hot cocoa and left again. The first course came out and normally quite a bit of explanation is provided about what is being presented. This did not happen. She brought out the main course and again not a lot of explanation for them items. After that, we did not see our server again. We waited 30 minutes for a hot water refill for the tea before I asked a hostess, Kristina, (who was wonderful) if we could get some hot water. I explained that our server had never returned to the table and that we needed both hot water and cold drinking water refills. Kristina immediately assisted us. We waited another 30 minutes with no contact from our server or anyone else to get our check. At that point a random server brought the check, did not ask how everything was, and left. We paid our checks and when we were leaving I expressed to Kristina how disappointed I was with the experience this year and for $154 dollars for myself and my child, this was not an experience I would ever repeat. I told her what was most disappointing was that in previous years everything has been amazing. She said she would follow up with a manager which she did. Kristina was the star of the experience and I regret not reaching out to her sooner. We just kept waiting, thinking our server would return. The manager, Madison, reached out to my friend who had booked the reservation. I emailed him directly and have not had a response as of yet. I’m hoping he can rectify the situation. If the tea rom has lost the amazing ambience and staff presence that has been here in previous years it may be time for the management to re evaluate the prices they are charging for tea and some fancy finger sandwiches and desserts. My advice is to save your money and go somewhere else it is more appreciated.

Best high-class breakfast in town.

Incredible decor, ambiance with the huge banana plants, and exquisite eggs benedict in the a.m. As you step into the amazing lobby of the Fairmont, you are taken back to the 1930's with marble floors, ornate gold molding and wide curling stairs up into this restaurant. I loved my special occasion breakfast at The Georgian.

Very Nice - Terrific Staff - Great Presentation

By MikeMadBch |

Enjoyed a delicious breakfast. Normally a breakfast buffet does not entice me, but the Georgian put on a very nice one that I would certainly re-visit. Food was elegantly presented and the serving staff was very attentive. Priced at $27 I may have expected a few more options, however, given the inside hotel location it is to be expected to pay a premium. Overall, quite pleased.

Breakfast great! Brunch not so much!

By John P |

We stayed at the Fairmont Olympic for Easter this year. We decided to treat our family to Easter Brunch at the Georgian. We were very disappointed. Yes there were the obligatory scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage as well as Lobster mac & cheese but, that was it. There were no carving stations, no omelet station or anything else. The balance of the offerings was an array of sweets from muffins to chocolate rabbits. We thought if you took away the chocolate, it was a very average offering like you could find at any other restaurant in Seattle. On top of that, most of the wait staff disappeared half way through our meal and we had to get up and seek out the coffee pots for refills..It was not up to the standards that the Georgian is known for!

Amazing Afternoon Champagne Tea to Celebrate Milestone Birthday

By ReeReeRocks |

Our party of six celebrated a milestone birthday with the "Afternoon Champagne Tea" at the Georgian Room, Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Everything, from our email reservations/correspondence, to the presentation, food and service, were excellent. The room is beautiful for a milestone occasion - I highly recommend their afternoon champagne tea.

Beautiful Breakfast Choice

By Mark P |

This elegant restaurant is off of the lobby of the Fairmont Hotel. The dining space is very nice. The food was quite good, and so too was the service. Prices are a bit high, as is typical of hotel restaurants. But I would happily return.

Excellent restaurant and service

By Marty911 |

I took colleagues to the Georgian for a breakfast meeting. Like most Fairmont Hotels the setting is beautiful. Service was very good, food was excellent and the cost for 4 people was very reasonable. Three of us had eggs benedict which were very well prepared.

If you're looking for old world charm with a contemporary twist, The Georgian is a good choice. The food and service are top end without being stuffy.

Wonderful breakfast and top-notch service

By Lori M |

Stayed at the Fairmont Hotel and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at The Georgian. The service is something you don't find in many places these days. The food was absolutely wonderful, fresh, creative, and flavorful. They don't miss a detail! I was sad to see they no longer serve dinner in this fine restaurant. It's something we always look forward to when we stay at the Fairmont

Very pleasant afternoon tea

By minhnvu2014 |

This is one of only a few venues in Seattle that offers afternoon tea. The grand dining room is what you would expect of a tea venue in a big elegant hotel, complete with beautiful chandeliers, flowers, etc. service was excellent and the tea was nice. Unfortunately the food itself was mediocre. The sandwich course didn't really have sandwiches. There were Parmesan crisps with cheese in between, a chicken salad on top of bread and topped with a sweet French macaroon (weird), and the toast with crab did not seem very fresh. The scones were fine but I've had so much better. And the dessert course again was just not that good. The tea at the Hay Adams in DC (sadly only served during the holiday season) is a thousand times more delicious and in a more intimate elegant setting.

Best I've ever had

By Old Pro |

The Georgian room in the Olympic Hotel still holds the title for the best breakfast I have ever had in my life. We stayed here during my mother's funeral and the hotel comped us breakfast because of a issue with the room. . I had gone here many times for brunch with my mother and thought it appropriate to stay at this hotel as it was one of her favorites Yeah yeah, I know it's a cliche but we ordered the eggs benedict and what they call avocado toast. I can't even describe how much better their Benny was than any other I've ever tried. The avocado toast was amazing and indescribable. I'm not sure why they're waiting on Google is at much higher as they are still considered one of the best restaurants in Seattle. I will be continuing to go there throughout until they decide to close down the restaurant entirely as they have the brunch. The Georgian room is an outstanding dining opportunity that everybody should experienced at least once

Quiet slice of heavenly ambiance.

We had lunch at The Georgian to celebrate a friend's birthday. The setting is just wonderful; old world elegance that charms if you want a quiet place to talk. The servers are helpful in answering menu questions and our salad was delicious.

I just ordered breakfast at this hotel restaurant and the fruit was very fresh and the food came out very quickly. I was able to even take a latte to go.

A Wonderful Favorite now available for lunch and dinner!s

By Willie |

The Georgian Room is an institution in Seattle. We were particularly impressed recently with their breakfasts. Variety of selections was terrific and reasonably priced....and the buffet, if selected, provided a wide array of delicious options. Importantly too....serving personnel were very "upbeat" and courteous....a great reinforcement for a perfect start to our day!

Tranquil atmosphere

By Laura M |

The atmosphere was wonderful- so much room between the tables- and an understated elegance. The food was exceptional. Had banana bread French toast with bourbon syrup. Amazing! I asked for a coffee and was given an entire carafe. This place does not cut corners. Lovely to find a place like this! The service was top notch. Fantastic, but be sure to MAKE A RESERVATION.

Great Sunday morning breakfast

I was leaving town on Sunday morning, and wanted a nice breakfast. You can't do much better than the Georgian Room at the Fairmont! Great buffet, good juices, and wonderful arrangements make for a wonderful leisurely breakfast. You can't go wrong!

Tea Party

By ting71n6 |

Great tea party for 13 year old girls. Very welcoming entrance to a roomful of Christmas trees that were beautifully decorated for a fund raising. All three floors had Christmas trees. The girls were so excited and awed by the beauty of the hotel and the trees. Each girl was served her own teapot. The waiter gave them unhurried time to choose their tea and explained the menu. A two tiered tray served two girls and they shared equally like grown-ups. The waiter was so attentive to the girls' needs and gave the children a bit of space so they can get the best experience of a tea party. My niece wants to go back for another tea party for her 14th birthday and more than likely we will.

My wife and I visited For breakfast

By Prc55 |

My wife and I visited The Georgian for breakfast at 11 am on a Monday. The restaurant was busy and we were greeted by our server 10 minutes after being seated. My wife is vegan and the only option for her was a side of breakfast potatoes. I ordered the crab and shrimp omelette. The potatoes served to my wife appeared to be the remainders of someone else’s meal, just crumbles and decidedly oily. My omelette was leathery and filled with scant crab and 4 small shrimp. The sourdough toast ordered was white bread. In 2 words, disappointing and expensive .

Sigh.

By Terry H |

Since dining here two years ago, The Georgian has limited its meal offerings to breakfast and lunch; a probable reflection of the change in the dining habits of Seattleites (and I suspect most of the rest of the country as well). People no longer seem to want an elegant dining experience in this city on the go, one complete with linen tablecloths and leisurely paced service. I entitled the review 'sigh' because it seems this 'grand old dame' is slowly being put out to pasture. This may be harsh (and I hope unwarranted), but that's my impression. Even mid-day for lunch there were not many people eating there. The food, while adequate, did not seem up to its previous delicious offerings. One of us has a soy allergy and it proved problematic to get a meal without soy in it (even their signature Caesar salad had soybean oil in the dressing). We have eaten at The Georgian in the past for both lunch and dinner and I miss what it used to be. If you go, I hope you have a better experience than we did.

Just Fantastic

By RossK58 |

The Thai wife and I took high tea here on a recent Saturday. We got lucky in that we didn't book and only got in because there had been a last minute cancellation. We arrived just after midday and were seated soon after. We order the high team option with champagne, great for me because the wife does not drink alcohol. The champagne, tea and fruits soon arrived. All were great. Then the food on the three level stand arrived. Just amazing. We worked our way through the savories, then the scones, then the sweets. The service and ambiance of the room are second to none. We left having fully enjoyed the experience and took a sleep back in the hotel before tackling the rest of the afternoon. Recommend you book, not everyone will be as luck as us.

Very Nice Breakfast

The George is in a nice open space. It is attractive and quiet. My omelet was good-I went off menu for a vegetarian option. Service was friendly and good too.

Gorgeous Room!

I felt like I was back at the turn of the 20th century enjoying tea in a beautiful place. This room is just spectacular. We had a delicious lunch enjoying the room and view.

Superb Afternoon Tea

By Stevi D |

High Tea is my hobby. The only place I have been that outranks High Tea at the Georgian is Blenheim Palace. Tea at the Georgian was better than the Ritz or the Plaza. Amazing service, amazing food. The savories were marvelous. If tea is your thing please check it out!!

Holiday Tea not worth it

By gourmetwashington |

It is truly sad how the Georgian room used to be one of the most elegant restaurants in Seattle. The architecture is still beautiful, but the tables and chairs are the same as hotels use in conference rooms - very industrial. However, it is the food that really disappoints. We had been looking forward to Holiday tea but were very disappointed. For $65 plus tax, the offerings were substandard with two duck type savories. For the savory selection, it was a bite sized (not really a small sandwich - just a bite) squishy salmon rollup and then a duck type tart and another type of duck pastry. If you are not a fan of duck, you would miss most of the savory. For the sweets, they were ok, but pretty much Safeway quality and certainly not delicious and homemade. The best tea in town is still at the Queen Mary, which is too bad that the Georgian misses the mark completely.

Expansive, Expensive, Whitewashed

By VMBinExile |

We breakfasted here several days during our stay. The food was adequate and the room, while large and spacious, lacked character. They seem to have painted over all the interesting architectural features as part of their recent renovation. It is very unfortunate they didn't take greater care when selecting a "decorator". Service was always attentive and timely.

Very Good

Storied Excellence

The Georgian (formerly The Georgian Room) is the fine dining restaurant located in the historic Fairmont Olympic Hotel. It is the longest continuously operating dining spot in Seattle. Fine food, service & decor. Perfecter a special, romantic occasion.

I am a true fan of Fairmont Hotels and the Georgian is no exception to this rule!

By SeattleMermaid |

Yes- it is pricey but there is no way to beat the ambiance! I have had many special occasions here and have felt like a "princess"! Love it!

Elegant Breakfast Atmosphere

By TravelingBoomers1946 |

We read the reviews on trip-advisor and noted that it was within walking distance of Arctic Doubletree. We also used their website to make reservations noting our 49th wedding anniversary. We arrived early and we were welcomed by name and seated promptly. We sat side by side in upholstered two person bench seat. I ordered eggs Benedict and my wife had Buffett . Yes it is pricey but the quality, presentation and service make it is well worth the price. The room is beautiful.

Beautiful restaurant in Fairmont Olympic Hotel. Gorgeous architecture of a very old building! Epitome of elegance. We ate breakfast, very good though not unexpectedly pricey. Thought it was worth it since we were traveling celebrating our anniversary.
