My son and I have been coming to The Grill after spending the day at the Farmers Insurance Open the last few years. It’s the perfect way to end the day after watching incredible golf. The food is always excellent and the service is top notch. Danny, Jillian, and Kyle took excellent care of us!

We’ve been going here for years and the service and food are always great. Today was no exception with Eddie as our server. He was polite, professional, funny and great with our kids which is always helpful when we sit down at a nice restaurant. He even surprised my wife with a dessert to celebrate her as a mom one day early. Thanks for another great meal!

I called to ask questions about The Grill's ingredients prior to our upcoming Mother's Day reservation. I inquire at restaurants regularly due to health concerns. Host Marla's graciousness, kindness, and patience stands out in a wonderful way. She had a broad smile in her voice as she relayed responses from the chef then she happily asked the chef a second round of my questions. Marla's easygoing and warm responses are beckoning! I'm guessing the chef has a similarly positive demeanor from her ease to ask! This amazing customer service over the phone matches the customer service experience we had at brunch at The Grill last year. And the food was delicious. I'm writing a review before returning because my husband and I are struck by the helpfulness and thoughtfulness of the staff.

Perfect place to start the morning in La Jolla. Tasty food, and despite there being a golf tournament today, no one rushed me through my meal. Jared was a super accommodating and helpful server. Will definitely make this a regular stop when I pass through La Jolla.

Went in for drinks on the weekend after hiking around Torrey Pines park to check out the place as I'd heard nothing but great things. Place was fantastic, got a seat at the bar and had the burger which was amazing alongside a few local beers. Eddie made the experience top notch, super friendly and very helpful with any questions I had. Would absolutely recommend to anyone coming to town.

Great views from our seats om the outdoor patio, the sandwiches were some of the best we've ever had, and to top it off our server, Eddie, was excellent. Will definitely be back on my next visit to town.

We vacation every year in San Diego and our favorite spot for breakfast in the Grill at Torrey Pines. We can walk to the restaurant, the food is great and the view is spectacular. All the staff are great but a shout out to Ivy who always gives great service and makes us feel special!

WE HAD A GREAT DINNER AND DRINKS AT THE GRILL. IT WAS OUR FIRST EXPERIENCE IN THIS CASUASL LITTLE GEM. OUR EXPERIENCE WAS ENHANCED BY JOSH, OUR VERY WARM AND FUZZY PROFESSIONAL WAITER. HE MADE US FEEL AT HOME AND WELCOME !

My critique will probably come off as nit-picky but given that we spent $230 (inc tax & 20% tip) for dinner for two people, I think it's reasonable. First the positive: lovely environment. The hotel is beautiful and the coastal setting lovely. The food was very good. Service was good but not particularly crisp. No complaints. But they missed on the small stuff. I made a reservation well in advance and requested indoors. It was a beautiful evening and we asked if we could switch to outdoors. Nope. All tables reserved. We saw open tables on the patio all night. Didn't feel great. The succulent on our table looked like a Charlie Brown succulent and some other tables suffered the same lack of attention to detail. My wife is very strictly gf and she saw the salmon entree noted as gf on the website. But they've changed the menu and it's no longer gf. A bit of a letdown. They charged us $8 to park. Felt nickel and diming. 5 Diamond hotels just price themselves as they wish and bypass the hidden/cheap fees. Same point for the 3% "appreciation" fee for kitchen staff. Just pay your staff properly and skip the add-on fees. Feels 'Vegas-y' All meant in the spirit of hopefully making the Lodge think about their positioning and their thirst for profit while considering who their clientele is.

If you’re lucky enough to land in Ashlen’s section, cancel your plans—you’re in for a flavor adventure. Five stars for Ashlen – the MVP of meat, mixology, and moist carrot cake! Ashlen recommended the chimichurri steak and potatoes like it was her life’s mission—and wow, mission accomplished. The steak was so good! The drink she suggested? Smooth, sassy, and just strong enough to make me forget how many times I gave my golf balls a scenic detour. And the carrot cake? Let’s just say if vegetables were always served like this, I’d be disturbingly healthy. Ashlen, you’ve officially earned the title of “Culinary Spirit Guide.” I’ll be back—and I’m bringing stretchy pants!

I was a guest at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines last weekend. That hotel is right next door to the Lodge at Torrey Pines. And to make a long story short other than the dining that was part of weekend wedding activities I ate 4x The Grill at Torrey Pines -- two breakfasts, a lunch and a late night meal. The food and service were both exceptional every time. Special mention to Marla the host who was friendly, efficient, and very willing to accommodate my seating requests each time. And Jared the server who was friendly, efficient, and got all of my orders (with multiple modifications) relayed to the kitchen perfectly. Thank you all, and especially Marla and Jared for a very enjoyable dining weekend!

The Lodge was one of the most amazing dining experiences I have ever had. Eddie was our server and he was the most outstanding person throughout the entire meal. Not only was the food phenomenal, but he made it a very personal and memorable experience. We will definitely be coming back, and hoping to have Eddie as our server again!! Thank you so much! 👏👏👏

Great dinner experience (was actually a late lunch). My husband was here for a conference next door and we ate at the Grill twice this week. Both times our server was Lisa B. She was attentive, friendly, and didn't rush us. Our food each timer was great. First time I had the salmon and my husband the pork chop. Tonight I had the drugstore burger (I added blue cheese and mushrooms). One of the best burgers ever.

In March my girlfriends and I had lunch at Torrey Pines and had the pleasure of having Eddy serve us. My husband and I stopped by for lunch this week and got Eddy again!!! It was like seeing an old friend. Eddy is personable, friendly and provides excellent service. He realized quickly that my husband was a golfer and talked shop and showed us some fun stuff on his phone of Torrey Pines. He also had a few surprises for us that made our lunch experience even better!!! The chocolate dessert was delicious!!! Ask for Eddy when visiting Torrey Pines. You will not be disappointed 🤩🤩🤩!!!

We had a wonderful breakfast on a foggy, drizzling Sunday. Just being at Torrey Pines was a treat. Waffle and omelet both outstanding. It is expensive but worth it for a special occasion. We sat inside but patio tables had a great view of the course.

Our visit began with a less than hospitable host staff upon arrival because we did not have a reservation - (in all fairness to us we had attempted to make one but no one answered or returned our message). We arrived before lunch ended at 5 pm and ordered before 5 pm but were told by the same host staff that because it was “close” to dinner time (20 minutes) we could not order off of the lunch menu. The tomato soup was very nice, the chicken wings were tough and chewy. The only highlight of the visit was our server was quite lovely. All in all it was not the dinner we had expected. We won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

We recently went for dinner and drinks and had a great time! Our server, Eddie was the best! He was so personable, knowledgeable about the menu and provided top notch service. I had the best dirty martini and my husband enjoyed a classic old fashion. We went with Eddie’s recommendations for dinner and they did not disappoint! I come every 3 months for work as my client is nearby and I come here regularly to visit Ted, the best bartender on the west coast!! The food here is great!! The one problem is for some dumb reason they decided to limit the bar menu and I can no longer get my rotisserie chicken sandwich, which in my opinion is one of the best sandwiches in the USA!! It can only be had in the main dining room. Please bring back the full menu! Sincerely, A dedicated customer from NYC

My sister-in-law highly recommended The Grill, located at Torrey Pines Golf Course, especially since I said a Sunday brunch outside would be nice. We were concerned when we saw so many cars in front due to an event, but we were helped almost immediately with complimentary valet parking, and once inside, a very nice woman escorted us through the hotel and outside, alongside the golf course and a food and wine event, to The Grill. We were very comfortably seated under a patio with a great view of the golf course, ocean and colorful paragliders. It was a sunny but cool day, but ceiling heaters and glass wind breaks kept us from feeling cold. Jared, our server, was wonderful - so pleasant and helpful but also relaxed, always ensuring we had everything we needed, as if it was truly his pleasure to serve us. He made knowledgeable recommendations from the menu, and accommodated us when we wanted to share our meals family style since all the food looked so good! We topped off our delicious meals with a very tasty and refreshing berry trifle and a chocolatey belated birthday treat for me - with Jared even holding a wineglass over the candle to prevent the wind from blowing it out while everyone sang Happy Birthday. Talk about amazing service! It was a perfect brunch and day, thanks to Jared and The Grill.

There's no reason to go here unless you're golfing, in which case just get a drink from the bar. It's expensive. The view is nice but mostly of the golf course, nothing spectacular. There is not sufficient shade for a nice day, too hot. Service was very slow and inattentive. This is the first place I've been to in years that served TAP WATER, gross! The menu is very limited, so you'd expect the few dishes they serve to be good, but they're average at best. All the ingredients of my sandwich were plopped in the middle, so 1/3 was just bread. They gave me the end of the tomato that should have been tossed. The ingredients of my husband's sandwich were skimpy. There are so many much better places nearby with better views than this dive.

We had a fantastic lunch! Everything was delicious, burger, chicken sandwich, fries. Our server Marissa was excellent! Highly recommend. Great view and cool hotel.

Came to The Grill one day for lunch and another day for dinner during a quick work trip to the area. Both times, the food was excellent, the views were beautiful, and the service was really above-and-beyond. Thank you to Joshua at lunch and Eddie at dinner for helping to create such lovely dining experiences. I will definitely return when next in town!

The Drugstore burger is one of the best anywhere. Service is exceptional. Atmosphere is unique. We dined twice during our stay, and both experiences warranted an exceptional record.

Stopped in and had a burger at the lodge. The bartender Ted was fantastic and let us try his spicy marg recipe as he was making it. Burger was fantastic and great beers on tap.

Jared is a phenomenal waiter… the chicken salad sandwich was delicious and the views are… priceless!! Such a memorable place… take a walk to the pro shop and then to the hotel lobby… such a beautiful place!! And best of all.., the Torrey pines growing majestic and serene… perfectly lovely afternoon!

I enjoyed the Drugstore Hamburger with a Sculpin IPA and it was delicious, but what made the experience was the exceptional customer service provided by Eddie. Eddie greeted me with a big smile and made feel like I was enjoying a meal with friends and family, he made excellent recommendations, and the meal was absolutely enjoyable. I will be back to try other items on the menu like the Albacore poke, but mostly I will return because of the service Eddie provided. The Grill at Torrey Pines has excellent food and even better service staff! Thank you Eddie!!!

Visited The Lodge for Easter brunch! We are locals but have never ventured to The Lodge before. Jared’s service as well as the other staff was wonderful. Will be coming back!

We had a great brunch before walking the final round of the tournament! Food was very good but the service was better. Jared was our server and did an excellent job!

We ate at the Grill, one of our favorites. The food is always solid, the view amazing if you sit on the patio. We were at the Grill for brunch and indulged in the salmon avocado toast with a fried egg, the drugstore burger, poke, croissants, muffins, delicious latte, and coffee. Best of all was our service . Jared was our wait person and he was amazing !!!! Congenial, patient, nice, chatted with us even though he was so busy. It was my mom’s 90th and he also indulged us with a candle and dessert! Ask for Jared, he will make your experience wonderful !
