Beautiful view

By Hols914 |

The roof top bar is on top of The Lincoln Hotel. Great view. Great drinks. Very small food menu. Food just okay.

Loved it

By LuckyInTravel |

Would highly recommend it to anyone. Great views of the water and the Chicago skyline. Drinks were good and reasonably priced.

The Hidden View

By Joe P |

The J. Parker in the Lincoln Hotel was Fantastic. I sorta don't want to say anything cause if you don't know about it now you will. It's to me sort of a hidden gem. Roof top over looking the city and the lake. Quaint area as well as the music wasn't crazy hard of any sorts. More like Maroon 5 style etc. It was good. Wife and I sat and had some drinks and small plate of assorted cheeses which was nice to tie us over till dinner. A couple of drinks cheese plate and a cookie (Very good) was roughly 30.00. Not bad. It's the views that is what made it. If you go and you sit in the far left corner be prepared to probably take peoples pictures cause the views are that good!! GO DON"T WAIT! IT"S WORTH IT AT LEAST ONCE! Ciao (We went around 2 perfect time! everyone is still at work!!!)

Highly recommended

By Bill H |

Great drinks and food to go with this superb location. The view and outdoor seating area are something special. You will not be disappointed by a visit to the J. Parker.

Highly Recommend - Best rooftop bar in the city

By UrbanMusings |

There are a hundred reasons to go to the J Parker, and they all involve the view. This is the best rooftop bar in the city - you see lake, city, and park views. The fireworks off Navy Pier look divine, and this is the best place to watch the Air and Water Show. There are tables, couches, fire pits - in short a range of comfortable seating options. Yeah, the drinks are pricey (but delicious), the service spotty, and the ambiance a bit trendy - but none of that matters because of the view is awesome. And this year, they've added a retractable rooftop so you can enjoy the view even when it rains. We'd be here every weekend if we could. Check it out - you won't regret it. Oh, and the foods not bad.

Go for the views and stay for the excellent signature drinks!

By swedish21 |

Stayed at the Hotel Lincoln and went here to celebrate my daughter's birthday when we came back from Second City/dinner so we did not eat here but the drinks were excellent!

Don't bother

By Josh F |

Heard it was nice rooftop, very disappointed. View is decent, but crowd is trashy, and employees are rude. Definitely would not waste my time or money there again

Cocktails like Woah!

By Sara G |

We had a girls trip to Chicago and spent a night at The J. Parker. We tried every drink on the cocktail menu! They were delicious and the bartenders were so great!! Edgar was a great sport as the night went on and we had such a great time that night!

Fun place with amazing views!

By heuster3 |

They open at 5, and people are lined up at the elevator. Some waited 45 minutes to be line. I guess that's cool if you want to score a table near the edges. My friends just wanted me to experience the JP since I was visiting. I was already feeling good from my hard orange soda. We were able to get a table and couple rounds of drinks. Their cocktails are inspired by David Bowie...which was very cool! We ordered some fries to share. The views are great! The people, interesting to watch. It is a little pricey, but you're paying for the view! JP is somewhere to bring people who are visiting Chicago for the first time. Staff was friendly throughout our visit. I'd come back!

Great view!

By juliadX8064GE |

Kudos to the bartender for the really strong drinks! Nothing watered down here! The waitress we had was super sweet and very accommodating. The view was spectacular and the heated fire stands were awesome.

AMAZING Lake Michigan views and FUN atmosphere!

By matt f |

Located on the rooftop of the Lincoln Hotel on North Clark street this place has it all for hanging out and relaxing. Small and intimate there is covered and uncovered patio seating with amazing views of the city and Lake Michigan. I would say it is a hidden gem, but the place was PACKED on the Saturday late afternoon we were there. Good, friendly service and although limited selection, quality food.

Breathtaking View- One of the Top Rooftop Bars in Chicago!

By lzemanek91 |

Took a date here this last summer and struck gold on the location. Go right around sunset and you get an absolutely stunning view overlooking Lincoln Park and the Lake! You truly can't beat it. There is not a bad seat in the house. Several seats are semi-enclosed with others being open on the rooftop. Take your pick! Not going to sit here and say it was cheap, because well, it wasn't. But certainly worth the value! You can get beer, but there are many mixed drink options that are all very well put together and quite strong. $11-$16 ea. for mixed drinks. Also they have several sampler platters, we got the cheese one. Strongly recommend to do that as well

Worth it for the view!!

By Jennifer L |

We came here for the view and the drinks. Definitely bring your camera! We had some appetizers and a few drinks. The Terrace is almost as gorgeous as the view!

Great View

By Verucacorleone |

We went there early for pre-event drinks. This place is very popular, there were people waiting for them to open. I loved the view and ambiance. Service was excellent. Drinks and french fries were good. I didn't like plastic glasses, though. I'd like to go back to this place sometime.

Great rooftop

By Pmikos |

Love the rooftop, on a clear day the Lake Michigan view is breath taking. Comfortable seating and great cocktails and appetizers. It now has a retractable roof so you can enjoy the rooftop in the winter. Unfortunately we couldn't get up there in December because of a private party.

Great place to view the lakefront

By seibo2830 |

On top of the revamped Hotel Lincoln is The J Parker - a bar and restaurant with 180 degree views of the lakefront. The views are amazing - and the drinks and food are pretty nice too! The drinks menu hosts a wide range of cocktails, a variety of beers (in cans for safety reasons) and a reasonable selection in wines. We've only had brunch and appetizers the few times we've been there but were happy - not a lot of gluten free options but they did their best. Nothing fancy - just good food. Very popular in the evenings. Could use some more staff during busy times. They don't take reservations except for large groups so get there early if you want a table or couch.

Excellent views, slow service

By plindz |

The views are priceless. The bar itself was average. Slow service (they were very busy) There is more potential here with the location and views.

Great view while dining

By Swede1972 |

The restaurant is located on the top floor of Hotel Lincoln. The view from the restaurant is excellent. The menu has few but enough dishes. The food is good, the service really nice and the view is great!

Never coming back

By Laurel S |

Where to begin.....Our room was awful. I didn't mind that it was small it was that there was no space for clothes. Just terrible. We asked for a room that wasn't loud and all we heard was ambulances and fire trucks all day and night. The gym was amazing but had no air, would rather pay for a gym them what the James offered. I travel a lot and have to say this hotel is no worth it.

SCARY, I almost got banned for questioning a $200.00 over bill!!

By Leonardo B |

I had my worst experience in Chicago. We went to close the bill and, if I hadn't paid attention, they would have spent US$ 200.00 more!! When I went to question the manager, the MOST DISRESPECTFUL guy I've ever seen, he started SHOUTING at me and saying he was going to ban me and call security. He continued to disrespect me, SCREAMING and saying that I was going to rob the establishment. In the end, I proved that they were going to charge US$200.00 more and they didn't ask me for ANY APOLOGY. If I could have, I would have called the police, but I didn't want to stress anymore. I recommend going and having a beer and leaving, nothing more. I recommend that this UNPREPARED manager be called in for an evaluation. The view is really beautiful!

Breakfast on the roof

By peterbaker40 |

It may be below zero in Chicago but the enclosed area was warm and no need for coat Wonderful views of Lincoln park and downtown Chicago Service was superb Food was good

Cool space, great eats.

By carlyheffernan |

Love the rooftop aspect of this restaurant, awesome when the wether is nice but cool even on a gloomy day. The burger was delish.

A Fantastic Rooftop

By KU90 |

The J. Parker is one of the best rooftops I've been to in the city--it far surpasses Zed 451 and the Godfrey. The views of the lake were amazing. The cocktails were spot on and well-balanced. The food was tasty. The service was on top of the entire experience. The crowd mature but not pretentious. The only unfortunate aspect is that the hotel is not in River North or the Loop--cabs are by far the easiest (and best) way to get there.

Breathtaking view of the city with good drinks and tasty small plates of food.

By Bruce S |

One of the best roof top bars in Chicago, very good music, view of Lincoln Park. Creative drinks and food

Oh what a view

By McWett |

On top of the Hotel Lincoln, you have a great view of the south end of Lincoln Park. South Pond a cross the way and skyscrapers to the south. A full bar and limited menu cap off a nice place to relax and let the world go by below you.

Good service, good drinks and a great view

By Mindy D |

This is a great place to enjoy a few cocktails at the end of a workday. The location affords great views of the Chicago skyline. I was with a large group and our server was very attentive and quick with our orders. The only downside to this bar is that it can get quite cramped especially when part of the bar is roped off for a private party.

Don’t rely on reservations at J Parker!

By Mac C |

Don’t rely on reservations at J Parker! I planned on proposing to my girlfriend by the lake and then celebrating our engagement with family at the J Parker immediately after, family was flying in from out of town and staying at the Hotel Lincoln. I made the reservation weeks out, and even confirmed in person the week before. The J Parker knew this was for an engagement celebration. Just 24 hours before the reservation I received an email that my reservation had been cancelled, without an apology or alternative. They don’t answer their phone so I had to go in person to ask what happened, and the manager was very unhelpful and said there was nothing he could do. He claimed that since they came under ownership of their new parent company, Crescent Hotels & Resorts, their reservations have been a mess and they are pushed to keep reservations even if the space was booked for a private event just in case the private event cancels. Luckily The Wit kindly squeezed us in, but our engagement plan was nearly ruined due to the unorganized and unprofessional staff at the J Parker. Don’t rely on them for any important plans!

The place to be for scene and the view.

By amaranita |

The view from this roof top is amazing. Not only do you get Lake Michigan, but also the lights of the city. At lunchtime, we had light sandwiches and they were quite tasty, not cheap, but tasty, But oh that view, and the music and the scene. In the evening when we came up again to check out the view in the dark, the place had become more crowded, the music and the conversations much louder, but that view!

Fabulous spot on a sunny summer's day

By Rose D |

We spent an incredible Sunday afternoon this summer at The J. Parker rooftop bar/restaurant. First, the view. It is truly incredilbe. Looking east over Lincoln Park and onward to Lake Michigan. To the south, the Hancock and Michigan Avenue. Truly a million dollar view. We already had brunch downstairs and came upstairs to enjoy the view, a few cocktails and the live DJ. This is experience was fabulous and what makes Chicago in the summertime so special. As we did not eat here, I can not comment on the food, but I plan to check it out this winter at the inside restaurant. People on here have complained about the service, all I can say is our server was wonderful and took very good care of us (as we did her). Fun times in the big city!!

Stellar views and fun drinks

By Jenna O |

Beautiful view of the city and fantastic drinks. The line to get in is long, and we had to be patient to get a table with a view, but it was worth it. I’d recommend getting there right at the opening time to get a good seat. As for drinks, the Low-key Sus, Prometheus was refreshing with a kick - perfect for a sunny day!

Beautiful view

By jennguinn |

This is a terrific place for drinks. The menu is pretty limited and the food is average, but the view is outstanding.

After Wedding Brunch

By Z6488JMmaryb |

We attended a after wedding brunch the next day after a wedding we attended. The food was delicious and the servers where right on top of things. If you needed anything they got it right away for you. Great customer service.

Great views and cocktails!

By Moira49 |

We were staying at the Hotel Lincoln and wanted to try out the rooftop lounge. It was a cold, snowy day, but the lounge was warm and inviting with great views. There are actually two rooms up there. One large bar with a glass roof (covered in snow that day). The other room was more intimate with seating near the windows. We each had cocktails and shared a sandwich. We liked the lounge so much, we came back later that evening. The staff was friendly, the food and cocktails were great.

Great view and location, food could be better

By Josien_Dennis |

If we wouldn’t have tried the food I would have rated this with this 5 stars without a doubt. Great view from bar in various directions, great selection of beers and different seating possibilities (high and low tables and lounge area). It is located at top of Lincoln Hotel. We ordered some french fries and chicken wings, but both were really average quality.

Best Location in Lincoln Park

By Michael C |

Food was excellent and innovative. Staff was friendly and accommodating. we had a dog and the manager kept coming out to make sure she was happy too.

Great view, fun atmosphere

By Ralph S |

Great view of park and lake. Interesting signature drinks. Try the fried kale with lemon aeoli. What a way to spend a summer evening!

Awesome ambiance and view of city!

By Linz G |

Loved this place!!! Amazing atmosphere and ambiance!! Highly recommend going here to anyone staying at the Hotel Lincoln or visiting Lincoln park!

Great view

By jwesta |

great ambience and good selection of food and beverages. Highly recommend unwinding up on the roof with an appetizer or burger and a drink!

DREADFUL Food is far too salty

By James M |

We were in the adjoining Hotel Lincoln and needed dinner. It had a top Trip Advisor rating and so we booked a table. Very dark but full and apparently popular I had the fettuccine and my wife the chicken. Both dishes were so incredibly salty. We tried each other's and both agreed. So salty indeed that a rather nice Rose we had had its taste changed completely when drunk with the food. Dreadful. Would never go again.... Is this contrary view because we are British? But we know fine dining and this food will raise your blood pressure if you even smell it.

An iconic view and cocktail hour experience!

By Ellen O |

Chicago has some of the most imaginative bars in all the world but when the drinks are combined with incredible views, the experience is spectacular! Be sure to get there early because this has become one the the premier Chicago cocktail hours scenes.

Spectacular View, Excellent Service

By Steven P |

Just visiting Chicago for one night and so glad we made it to The J. Parker rooftop. The views were incredible. The drinks were a bit pricey but well worth it. I had the Emerald Mountain and would recommend to anyone who enjoys burbon. All of the staff was friendly and accommodating.

Rooftop Excellence!

By JenDanAsh16 |

Newly enclosed, best view in the city! Perfect date night either out on the rooftop enjoying Lake Michigan, or inside the quaint bar area! Be prepared to have a new favorite in the city! At the top of the Hotel Lincoln, this new favorite offers many drink options and a food menu. Great music and staff!

Great view

By Holly H |

Rooftop bar of The Lincoln Hotel. Great view. The bartender was very friendly. We were here in the winter so didn't get to sit on the outside patio but it looks great out there.

Very hip venue

By laurney13 |

The drinks are reasonable for Chicago prices and the view was incredible for a nice summer night. I would definitely return, just make sure to get there a bit before peak hours as it gets shoulder to shoulder packed.

Hip night club...even on Christmas Eve!

By Ted M |

Stopped by for a quick drink after returning from night with family and even on Christmas Even, this rooftop scene was rocking and couldn't get a table in the main area and had to go to the back bar, Outstanding view of Lincoln Park area, probably a hot spot in the warmer months.

Fabulous View and Interesting Cocktails in Lincoln Park

By diggerdownChicago |

The open air patio at the top of the building is one of the best places to have a drink in Lincoln Park. Spectacular view of the lake and the park. Innovative, seasonal cocktail list. But get there early as it fills up fast. Didn't try the food but the restaurant downstairs is top notch, if a bit noisy.

Pricy cocktails with a great view

By amanda b |

This rooftop lounge had no wait and plenty of seating as we arrived the moment they opened. Service was great and the crowd was even able to watch the soccer game. I was there for the drinks and the view of course and they did not disappoint. Our total was $84 for 4 cocktails and a $6 appetizer but we spent a good two hours up there.

The View is a Must!

By Hitmist |

Great casual spot overlooking the Michigan lake with a 360 degrees view. Huge selections of beverage and small plates. Perfect for a date or a casual catch up with friends. Service not so great. Anyway this one is a must if you're visiting Chicago.

Great food, drinks

By Macawley B |

Stopped here for a quick bite/drink after catching a performance at The Second City. Bartender was super friendly, environment was very chill, and the food and drinks were excellent. Great time!

Great food along with great view

By Tom J |

Daughter and i had a delicious brunch during a recent visit to the lincoln park area of Chicago. Food, drinks, atmosphere were all wonderful. A bit of a wait thus ate at the bar without waiting. Very comfortable and the bartender was friendly and provided great service. Also, wonderful view from the top.

Great view and a well-poured drink!

By Connie F |

The view is fabulous, the staff very friendly and the drink and food menu are great. Make sure you take in the new glassed in area--spectacular!

Great View!

By Danny C |

Awesome view and good drinks! Will definitely come back next time i'm in chicago! Staff were all really nice and even when this place gets crowded it's still a good time!

Great View

By MinnieAlachua |

Rooftop bar with a great indoor and outside view of the lakefront. Serves excellent tapas. Can be very crowded and noisy at cocktail hour.

Great view, food is fine - drinks overpriced

By withliberty |

But what do you expect? It's a rooftop bar overlooking the lake. Drinks are going to be overpriced. Place fills up relatively quickly after work hours, so getting a good table means showing up early.

Amazing view and good coffee

By Annie R |

The view was amazing and the coffee was great. The omelets were really good but that was my only "gluten free" option.

Nice rooftop bar restaurant with great views

By OtreblaSolrac |

Nice views of the city and a great place to unwind a bit at happy hour. Food is also available if you want to stay and enjoy your meal overlooking the city or the guests enjoying some drinks.

Not All That

By 2again |

After telling our waitress we were in a bit of a rush and we only ordered a round of drinks and sweet potato fries, we wound up having to take the fries “to go.” We were there at least 25 minutes. The seating was “Catch as catch can.” If it’s nice enough to sit on the deck, the view is amazing.

Great rooftop experience at

By NBentley2014 |

Great rooftop experience at a reasonable price available at the J. Parker. Visited with my daughter early one Monday weeknight. Seating is carefully managed to ensure social distancing and staff members are masked. Good selection of beers and ciders in the $7 range. Very generous apps available for about $10. We had a huge serving of truffle fries, which were delicious. The people across from us had sweet potato waffle fries and wings, which they said were very good. Seating is limited to two hours, which was more than enough time for us to enjoy the early evening sunshine and the beautiful view.

Beautiful view of the city from the rooftop Terrass

By RuurdvanElburg |

Trending very nice place for the afternoon to have a cocktail, some snacks with your friends. At the top of the Lincoln hotel take the elevator all the way to the top and be surprised! Enjoy the views and have a drink!

J. Parker really was a person before a rooftop lounge

By Medalert |

J. Parker is THE rooftop experience in Chicago. Located on the top floor of the Hotel Lincoln, it has been re-modeled so that the space can be used during those inclement weather times Chicago is known for. There is a glass enclosure that opens and closes. Seating is bar seating but there are also couches, bistro tables and chairs and, of course, some standing room. The view of Lincoln Park and surrounding Chicago area is so beautiful and easy to enjoy while sipping a drink or two. They do serve food but I have not tried anything. As a word of caution, don't go to J. Parker's unless you are prepared to "pay" as the prices are up there. Still wouldn't keep me away but rather just plan to stay a short time. Very busy place.

Great views and great drinks

By mmrjgolden |

A wonderful environment to have a drink or a light bite. The view is stunning. In the summer they have a lot of outdoor tables and since it's on the rooftop, there's probably a great breeze up there!

Great views & great food

By Danny O |

Best views of Lake Michigan my family had ever seen in Chicago. We loved the hotel, and the rooftop was a great added plus. The food was yummy, and the entire staff was very friendly. We will be back on our next trip to Chicago

Great Dirty Martini

By akmn |

The view is amazing but did get quite busy and a bit hard to move around. You can see the downtown skyline and the lighthouse in the lake. The cocktails were good especially the dirty martinis and the food was good also. Watching the city lights come on was pretty.

A good rooftop in Chicago

By Cédric M |

Located on the top floor of the Lincoln Hotel in Chicago, a trendy Rooftop with DJ, stunning Skyline views and great food. The cocktails are delicious.

Okay, but it's only 12 stories up

By William T |

The buzz about this rooftop bar at Hotel Lincoln attracts tourists and city dwellers far and wide. It gets crowded early and builds throughout the night to a shoulder to shoulder standing room only crowd. And when it gets like that it's not enjoyable. If you arrive at opening, 5pm, it feels a little cheesy with tourists coming to check it off their bucket list! The view is decent, but I work on the 49th floor of a skyscraper and am accustomed to even more awesome breathtaking views. Bottom line, it's a fun thing to do. Drinks will run $12 - 15 apiece

Friday night out

By Johannah S |

We were lucky to be in town during Restaurant Week. We sampled the mid-western tasting menu on offer. The service was excellent.

Lunch with a view

By bcsystems |

Came here for a light lunch. Enjoyed the views and good service. The food was solid. There is a covered area and another section of small tables directly outside.

So fun!!

By Carriagepushingmomma |

We love this bar. You can enjoy it for hours. The view is grand, the drinks are affordable compared to Hancock tower, and everyone is friendly and having a great time. As soon as the elevator doors open it sounds like a party!!

Great view and super service

By jescan2017 |

Enjoyed the rooftop view , great breakfast and as with the Hotel Lincoln, truly engaged employees.also turns into a fun rooftop bar.

Wonderful food and a breathtaking view

By 81D_and_Y |

Visited J. Parker's twice for breakfast and once for drinks, while staying at The Hotel Lincoln at the end of July 2017. Between us, we tried out all of the breakfast menu. The food was consistently excellent; service was friendly and fast and the views of Lincoln Park and downtown Chicago, spectacular.

Great to have party in

By RamSRam |

If you like crowds, view, noise, with your drinks , yes, this is the place. We had too little tim in the middle of a Sunday to savour, yet would seem a great place to be for a large gathering. Food and Service at the Lincoln Hotel have always been excellent and i would assume that here.

View of a Lifetime

By Teri G |

Amazing views of Lincoln Park and surrounding areas. Food was really good. An absolute must see for those in the area.

Cool place, great view

By Emily J |

My cousins and I had a mini reunion at the J. Parker the other night and it was fantastic. Even though it was a Tuesday night, the place was crammed pack and standing room only due to half the rooftop being reserved for a private party. Despite this, we still had a great time. I stuck with wine but sampled some mixed drinks and I loved the Paloma and the cucumber/tequila drinks. Although we didn't get any food as we did not have a table, the menu looked delicious! The view and the crowd make this place really unique. The crowd is very diverse, from twenty-something groups to cougars on the prowl to elderly couples having a date night on the town. It certainly keeps everyone entertained! The views are really unbeatable as you can see the entirety of Lincoln Park, the zoo, North Avenue Beach, and of course the city skyline. I would love to go back and get a table here on the rooftop and lounge around for a few hours before the summer comes to an end.

The J. Parker - Top Spot at the Top of Hotel Lincoln

By jescabar |

This is the bar at the top of the Hotel Lincoln. There is outdoor and outdoor atrium seating as well as inside seating. All servers were friendly and the drink specials were great. The management team is very friendly and frequently check in on guests. Drinks are reasonably priced and on the weekends there is a very fun, party vibe.

Lunch on the Roof Top

By Steve P |

Probably the best view in Chicago for the price of a few drinks! On top of the lovely Hotel Lincoln is one of the best kept secrets in the city. Take the elevator to the 12th floor and enjoy this breathtaking panoramic view of the park and Lake Michigan. Very young crowd and limited menu but who cares?

Great view, pricey drinks

By gables79 |

Covered roof top bar/lounge which opens up in the warmer months for a beautiful rooftop view of the city. Drinks are pricey and ho hum at best. Their cheese platter appetizer was a joke and very expensive. Other places you can go for a similar view.

Packed, but amazing views

By Leah G |

We arrived late in the evening and the rooftop was still pretty packed. The drinks are on the pricey side, but I would say normal for an upscale Chicago bar. Once the sun set, the place cleared out a bit. I really enjoyed the atmosphere.

Beautiful view, accommodating staff, terrible food

By Ellyn P |

Title says it all. We had several meals here during our stay at the hotel since one family member was not very mobile. Go there for the view, not the food.

Beatiful view

By Cheritaylor |

Very beautiful view of Lake Michigan! Drinks were good but very pricey. Long lines to get elevator up to the J.Parker. Not a priority next time in Chicago.

I would go again to the rooftop lounge

By Pamela F |

The rooftop lounge had a great atmosphere. The staff was very pleasant, friendly and helpful. I went on a Monday night so it wasn't too busy at that time.

Great View, strong cocktails, "small bite" plates

By smdyl |

J Parker is very popular and always crowded so we went very early (5:30) on a gorgeous late summer weekday. The perfect visit would be to be there a bit before sunset so you could see the Lake Michigan and Lincoln Park view in daylight, changing to the lights of the city at night. Small bite plates well curated and delicious.

Love the view during the day!

By indiansolotraveler |

It's an unbeatable view which hits you as soon as you step out of the elevator. Open seating, so didn't have to wait long even though we visited on a weekend. Great place to take pictures, enjoy a few drinks and soak the city in

Roof top Class!

By WifeofEagle |

Great drinks and breathtaking views of Chicago! Also, try the deviled eggs! Cozy seating, firepit (kinda) and congenial servers. Great way to start our night with sunset into early evening.

Lincoln Park Restaurant

By Trilogy94102 |

This is a very good restaurant, but short of a fine dining experience. Breakfasts are quite tasty tho pricy. Wait staff is attentive. If you are staying at the Lincoln Hotel, this is definitely a must go to place at least for one meal.

Magnificent view

By drj0209 |

The hotel at the Lincoln seems like a great place to stay. A charming ,chic , hip hotel. But I was there for the view. That 's' the J. Parker. A rooftop lookout over Lake Michigan with a young , vibrant crowd. Plenty of waitstaff and the bar gets very busy particularly at sunset which is what we wanted to see. The place after sunset is also a very god place to hang.If you are looking for a nice view, good drinks and a young crowd, this is your place.

Best rooftop in Chicago

By Calish |

With just one time I visited this rooftop It was enough to make it one of my fav spot in chicity. I absolutely love J parker it is so BEAUTIFUL this place. I have been here several time and I'm sure I wont never get there view of the city from this bar is AMAZING I would say one of the best in the city. Drinks maybe are not the best they are actually average but who cares!!!! view is what it makes unique this rooftop bar for me.... best in Chicago.

Great bar.

By Karla024 |

Bar has a great view and a good atmosphere. Drinks are good and bartender Edgar was very pleasant and provided great service.

Beautiful view

By Joanne K |

My daughter and I had time to kill before our show started at Second City so we walked up to J Parker. You have a fabulous view of the Zoo and surrounding area. You should stop for a drink.

Great view, great cocktails

By Daniela W |

I went around 5pm on labor weekend Saturday. I went with a group of friends for a drink. Totally recommended to watch the sunset. Best cocktails were: -stella by starlight -giant steps

Crowded view with one elevator

By alexanderschober |

Looking over Lincoln Park Zoo this is an amazing spot with a rooftop terrace, delicious treats, DJ music and a strict elevator policy. Forget cutting lines and just follow the orders. For a group rent a part of the sky deck for a undisturbed time.

Breakfast

By Neil B |

Breakfast this morning gro nd floor of The Hotel Lincoln (goes by a couple names seemingly). Food was pretty good, it wasn’t busy really. Hit the service was totally off their game- seem like maybe there was some calamity just before I arrived although I can’t guess what. Took 8 minutes after asking for coffee to show up ( and it was never checked or refilled ). Ordered oatmeal and poached eggs. Steel cut oatmeal was good, eggs were cold ( pre-made poached eggs? My guess is no, but that they say a good while before being brought to the table)

Day drinking with a view

By Wallpour1 |

Great rooftop for day drinking. I went on a Saturday at 3pm and the wait to get up was very long. Once upstairs it was crowded but got a drink easily. If you want a table you should get there when it opens. Food menu is very small and limited but the cocktails are yummy and strong.

Obscured view in "rooftop bar"

By carriic |

It had a nice atmosphere but the roof wasn't open so all we could see was everyone's reflection in the glass, and the weather was amazing. We had been told it had a retractable roof, if that's so I'm not sure why it wasn't open. Also when we there the business was pretty slow and while we were served ice water nearly as soon as we sat down, the service for the rest of the night was pretty slow. Comparatively speaking the drinks were very expensive, (and they charged extra for ice and for neat drinks.) Maybe that's not unusual, but I had not experienced it before.

Great view but nothing more...

By Tman312 |

If you're looking for a view, go to Willis Tower or Hancock Bldg. The menu is terribly small unless you're looking for hummus or French fries. The service is nonexistent. I would never go back....just say'n.

Great spot for drinks with a view.

By shelmybell |

Although bitter cold outside, it was enjoyable to have a cocktail and enjoy the view without the high winds. Good, efficient staff. Knowledgeable. Prices are conducive to Chicago’s mark up. Romantic or a fun space to share with friends.

Gorgeous views, wonderful service, excellent Old Fashioned

By Lauren O |

The views of Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago were spectacular; I followed the professional photographer around who was there for an epically beautiful sunset the night before the Cubs' Parade. The staff and service were top notch. The drinks were excellent. The nook by the fire was the best.

You come here the view, the rest is superfluous

By Larkus86 |

When you want a good lake side view, this is one great spot for it. To get to the rooftop, you take a smallish elevator up from the lobby. They have posted opening hours that for space reasons are strictly enforced. The sign just outside the shaft is lighted (someone took a picture of it and posted it) when they are open. They do serve small plates, nut the food is very good. It's a bit pricey, but a reasonable splurge to me. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back again!

The J Parker

By Robert J |

Possibly the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We had reservations to celebrate my niece's graduation from DePaul University-- TWO WEEKS in advance. We had 10 patrons. They seated us in the bar area. WE WAITED FOR AN HOUR, and never received drinks or food. We did get water, but that ran out with no refills. HORRIBLE SERVICE! My wife asked for service three (3!!!) separate times. Nothing but crickets. Never did this before--after an hour we all walked out. NEVER go there! Bob J

Great Views & Tasty Cocktails

By Rebecca B |

Friends met us here for a few drinks near sunset. It was chilly outside but the patio was enclosed and actually warm from the sun streaming in. We had a great time, good service, and enjoyed our drinks.

Too Loud!

By BarbinBloomington |

Stayed at the Hotel Lincoln for a family wedding. Some of us went to the J. Parker to visit. So loud we had to leave. Could not hear anyone unless they were talking in your ear. View is gorgeous. Go at off times.

amazing !

By Anne-Claire V |

fantastic view ! a little bit noisy, but great place to have a drink on the sunset !! staff is really nice. don't arrive too late to have a place !

Dont miss a rooftop drink with this supper cool view!!!

By Kim P |

I am writing this from a pandemic perspective, thinking of and missing the good old days. I am so glad a visit to the J. Parker was part of my last trip to Chicago. Wow!! amazing views of the Lake and an interesting specialty cocktail list. The drinks are a bit pricey but you are paying for the real estate. I had the Cameron Frye with tasty mezcal and fresh-squeezed blood orange ($14). There were several intriguing drinks! Beer runs around $8. Wine by the bottle was the best value at around$50. We did not try the food but everything we saw looked good and was being happily consumed. I look forward to the world getting back to normal and a return to J Parker for a special chicago view.

Inside and outside rooftop view of the city. Amazing buffalo cauliflower and Brussel sprouts. Date night, party, business meeting, and hang out we’re all happening while we got a cocktail and apps! Amazing spot in your night.

Great view, good drink, ok service.

By Cydney S |

A friend and I met for a drink at the J. Parker after work during the week. It was fairly empty when we arrived at 5 so we were able to snag a window seat around the firepit. This is the seat you want. From here you have an incredible view over Lincoln Park. Once we had secured our spots, we ordered drinks from our waitress (she was very helpful with recommendations) and we tuckered in. As the bar filled, you could tell people wanted these seats. They are the best in the place. Otherwise you are under a glass ceiling with little to see. For the view and drinks I would give it an excellent. We did order food to munch on and it took forever to come out. Decent fries but nothing to write home about. I would only recommend you go for a drink and then head off for food at one of the many great places in the area. Chicagoan and tourist alike, it is a pretty impressive view!

Love Love Love!

By eephillips2016 |

The view is incredible and the staff was so friendly. Love the cocktails! We needed a last minute place to go for after my birthday dinner- and a friend recommended J Parker. When we arrived we found the door team to be really warm and engaging and that was just the beginning. the bar staff helped guide my very picky friends into just the right drinks!

Eating in the clouds with fantastic views of Chicago

By Pelerin2014 |

The J. Parker probably awards the traveller with one of the best views of Chicago. The food is good and not too expensive but the feeling of being "up there" makes it a memorable experience. It all adds to the range of experiences one can have in the great city of Chicago!

What a view!

By Bebee96 |

Spent a couple of relaxed hours in J Parker whilst staying at the Lincoln. Friendly staff and a great cocktail menu (can heartily recommend the French Kiss if you like gin) and what an incredible view over Lake Michigan!

This place has a nice view but needs a to sort a few things out

By jazzyart |

I like coming to this place, especially in the summer, great view of the lake and city (day and night). Tables are first come first served. We sat at a high top. Some people had just left and their drinks were not cleared. The table was a bit wet. It was also very wobbly! which is probably why it was wet. Water glasses were spilling all night which became a bit unpleasant. I ordered a margarita and it was more ice than drink. In the wrong glass (in my opinion). I am a big cocktail drinker so have my standards!!! Service was good, quick and our server kept track of what was going on. However, the bill was over $350! There were 10 of us but most only had one or two drinks. So $35 for 2 very average Margaritas! I will go back as it's cool place to hang out but I think they need to watch it and make sure each experience is a good one. People will go somewhere else otherwise.

It's the view!

By KMcC |

This place offers interesting cocktails & small plates, but you really need to come for the view! It's outstanding!

AMAZING VIEW......

By JDWHITE29 |

Worth the trip to the top! Enjoy the view and the cocktails without all the congestion! Nice get away!

Stunning Views and Excellent Service

By HAV847 |

Didn't have a reservation but staff was very accommodating and sat us in a very good table outdoors. Just drinks, but service was terrific. Ambience is tops. We can't wait to return! Give it a try.

Worst breakfast all week

By toujoursparis1 |

This was the worst. How on earth do you screw up a toasted plain bagel with bacon? First of all you have orange juice that you serve over ice in a small glass - are they trying make their juice go farther? You only have plain bagels. When bacon is asked for extra crispy, you just throw on the plate whatever is already cooked. And then you charge $31 for the pleasure. Coffee was good, the view very nice, and still the service was marginal.

Great view, good food

By MuchCarnival77 |

Fun rooftop bar right off of lakeshore. Definitely a bit loud and busy at night, but the food was good (limited menu).

Great View

By teachforlife |

If you are looking for one of the best views in the city of Chicago this is the place! It was a young crowd but a lot of fun. We were lucky enough to get a table and enjoy the magnificent view.

Great view

By Rrileyadams |

We looked forward to spending time here since we were staying at the Lincoln. Rain and lightning had forced us out of Wrigley Field and we retreated to the J. Parker. It affords a great view of downtown Chicago (and the thunderstorms rolling across Lake Michigan). Just bring a credit card, because you pay for the view. My lovely wife had a few wines and wandered around the bar, including the open-air section that was unusable because of the storm that had just rolled through. I had a craft beer that was very tasty. They have last call for food around 11, so we ordered the $12 cheese plate. I was surprised to see it had a small rectangle of cheese, a container about the size of a ketchup to-go container of a cream cheese, three tiny crostinis, a dollop of preserves and about 15 walnut halves. I was expecting a cheese platter, I guess. It was tasty enough, but barely enough for one, let alone to be shared. I guess the view was worth it. Not sure we wouldn't have been better entertained staying in Wrigleyville. Service was intermittent at best for as light as the clientele was, and the bar can get noisy with very few people present.

Drink with family

Got a drink & dessert here. Definitely fun to see the skyline & worth a stop if you're visiting from out of town, but really nothing to write home about.

Amazing Lake Views!

By Trav_LN_now |

We were a party of 6 for a bachelorette party, and the rooftop lounge was our first stop. The view of the lake is breathtaking, but be sure to have your sunscreen on! It is first come first serve, so we were there when they opened at 11:30 a.m. Appetizers we ordered were Buffalo cauliflower, Edamame hummus dip with veggies and Truffle fries, and all three were great! Service and drinks were good. My only complaint is that they came over after we had been there for about an hour and said we would have to leave after we finished our drinks because they had someone who wanted our space. They then put a reserved sign on the table. Didn't like how they handled it; came off as rude and arrogant. Glad we stopped in, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back.

Roof top terrace with views

By Hetthepet |

The roof top bar is very popular we went up around 19:00 on a Friday evening and it was packed. Good views out to Lake Michigan and we saw the sun go down on the other side. You can have bar food up here too as well as cocktails and other drinks.

Truffle Fries and a Great View!

By Anjanette B |

My colleague and I are here for a training event and were told about this place as a great place to eat and take in the view. It was wonderful! We shared a salad, grilled cheese and the truffle fries and everything was delicious. It was a gorgeous night so the view made it even better as a great place to unwind! We had tickets to an 8 pm show at the Second City so just walked a few blocks after dinner and were at the theatre.

One of the Best Views of Lake Michigan Rooftop Bars

By GlobeTrotterAlan |

J. Parker has split personalities. During the week, it's more laid back and casual. During the weekends, it's a great rooftop party! Can't beat the view from the rooftop bar. Tried all of their recently changed cocktails that their beverage manager created. Definitely has some complex drinks as well as stand by classics to choose from. Food menu is somewhat limited. But decent snacks to enjoy to help soak up the view.

Refreshing cocktails with a spectacular view

By Barbara G |

Our B&B host advised that on this stormy evening it would be well worth the walk down to the J. Parker for rooftop cocktails. There is a restaurant on one side of the rooftop and the cocktail lounge occupies the other. The restaurant/lounge is located within an atrium type structure. I didn't spend anytime over on the restaurant side so I have no information regarding that. I had the Lush Life cocktail followed by the Fine and Mellow cocktail. My friend and I shared a freshly baked sea salt chocolate chip cookie. Both of my drinks were very different from each other. Both were quite potent and very tasty. I recommend both. The view is pretty breath taking, especially on a stormy evening. The dark clouds with the red sunset trying to peek through was gorgeous. This is a "must come back to" if I should find myself back in Chicago.

Superb breakfast

By flattopsteve |

Visited twice for breakfast and once for cocktails during our stay. Consistently good service and great food quality. Lovely view over Lake Michigan and the Chicago skyline. Situated on the 12th floor of Hotel Lincoln

Great view but no place

By Silvan1968 |

The J.Parker has one of the best views of Chicago Downtown. Because of this it is usually very crowd. However, you will always find a place to sip on your drink.

The views of the city are fantastic...

By mledoux0 |

The views of the city are fantastic... Other than that... although the service was fine and friendly, I felt the drink menu was limited and overpriced... This is a good place to go and experience if you have never been, but I wouldn't make it a regular stop.

AMAZING VIEWS

By WeLove2Travel12345 |

Best view in Lincoln Park! We had a team meeting in the hotel and we LOVED having evening cocktails up there! The staff is not as helpful as one might hope, but we understood because they are crazy busy when they open...but it would have been nice to get a little more attention...OH the VIEW though! It more than makes up for any issues!!

Locals and Hotel Guest can Enjoy Good Weather

Great location when the weather is good. We happened to be there when it was Excellent. Nice layout, good service, lots of locals.

Best rooftop in Chicago!

By skh565 |

Best rooftop in Chicago! The atmosphere is breathtaking...and so is the view! The drinks are great, the staff is great...overall just a very cool vibe.

Great views

By FLKMS |

The J. Parker offered spectacular views of the lake and city, excellent drinks and apps too. However, we only went up there once and stayed in Hotel Lincoln for 4 nights. Why? Because it was too crowded or they were allowing private parties to take up a lot of room. Yes, they also have an inside area, but who wants to be there when you have the beautiful outside view. The service was just ok.

Amazing view!

By 820_AUG17th |

After hearing so many great things about The J Parker's view, I made sure it was on my list of places to visit the next time I was in Chicago, I was fortunate enough to meet up with a couple good friends for some drinks & apps here and all of the great things I heard paled in comparison to actually experiencing the overall vibe in this place and of course the view. The prices were a bit steep, but the overall experience was so great that the couple extra dollars were gladly spent.

Fireside and city views

By Rakhan |

A beautiful space - open and expansive as a roof garden on one side, with city and lake views, or cosy and secluded on the other. Good menu choices and an ok range of craft beers. The variety of comfortable seating fills after 4pm, so don't be late!

Fantastic breakfast choices.

By Laura B |

The setting, service and food are all well above average. We had expected it to be outrageously overpriced and it was not. We are 5 in our group and everyone had something different and everyone raved about their meal. Be sure to try the breakfast potatoes with cheese curds. The curds are not friend and greasy but rather like melted cheese on top of the crispy potatoes. Everything is perfectly prepared and fantastic.

Great view

By aldoggy |

Super busy place with wonderful drinks and appitizers. Beautiful view. Its not a big place and it can grt really busy but well worth the wait.

Great views and classic cocktail options

By AR W |

Lovely spot to grab a cocktail and take in a nice view. We've been here a few times and have had really different experiences -- once when it was super crowded, once when it was early and not crowded at all, and once when it was just beginning to get crowded. It's worth a shot to go for the views.

The J Parker is a complete rip off!!

By Elizabeth R |

Normally I don't write any reviews of hotels/restaurants etc. but I was at the J Parker at the Lincoln Hotel for drinks last night and the glass of wine that i ordered was NOT even 4 Oz for $18!! (the wine wasn't even that good) - that is absolutely criminal!! how do they get away with that and why didn't i complain when i accepted that glass i don't know. PS they need to clean the glass/plastic around the perimeter of the bar. the reason people are up there is to take in the view but difficult to do when it's not clean. ER

Business

Happy Hour and Drinks! Yummy food, great cocktails and friendly service. I have experienced J. Parker more than once now and would highly recommend it and the view is spectacular.

Wow...

By kevinp63 |

What a place to have a drink. The views are simply stunning. Get up early as the place gets busy.....

Great view!!!

A rooftop lounge with a great view!!! A great experience and a must stop for a drink when in Chicago!!! Limited space so get there early.

Skyline splendor with a side of charm

By Claretta Jack |

Perched above Hotel Lincoln, the panoramic vistas of Lake Michigan and the skyline were the highlight. The ambiance was chic, though the service felt a bit inconsistent for a venue of this caliber. The drink selection was impressive, but the food options were somewhat limited. Overall, it’s a great spot for a relaxed drink with a view, though it didn’t fully meet our expectations for a business dinner.

Outstanding

By Courtney R |

You can't beat this view. The drinks were delicious, music was great, food was good, but it's all about the view here. We had a wonderful time. It's a bit tough to snag a table, but that's to be expected.

Fantastic view and excellent breakfast

By flanagan2k |

We stayed in the Hotel Lincoln below and had breakfast on the rooftop J. Parker. The food and service was excellent and the view outstanding.

Rooftop beauty

By Swacks |

Enjoyed the beautiful skies and a casual business conversation with a client while overlooking Lake Michigan and Lincoln Park atop the Hotel Lincoln. Our server was friendly authentic and engaging allowed us to order food as we felt hungry throughout the evening. It was a delightful evening the humus was homemade and veggies were unique and delicious. The salad and grass fed burger were pretty good too!

Great place to see the view

By Joshua J |

Chic and breathtaking views dazzle when you walk off the elevator. Reservations are a must on the weekends, walked into the hotel lobby filled with bachelorette parties and groups waiting for the rooftop. There was usually a line at the bar, but it was fast moving. My friends staked out a couch next to the edge and enjoyed the view of the Chicago at night. I can't wait to try the food next time I'm there!

Incredible service, incredible views!

By ElemTeach33 |

View and ambiance of this place are just amazing. We actually dropped our debit card on accident and they tried to help us find it. They called a week later and had found it and are mailing it back. We had obviously cancelled it by then but the idea of them following up was so wonderful to see!! If you go, you must make a point to sit by the fire in the corner in the evening. The views are amazing.

Poor customer service

By Rene D |

This venue is an incredible location with great city, park and lake views. The place is consistent with their service. They section off areas of the roof top deck and bar area to private parties. And they rudely and without notice move you from your spot at a table at the bar. This has happened on several occassions. Imagine you have a table and you've spent a lot of money on their expensive drinks taking in a perfect day/evening. You have other friends who take a cab to come meet you. As they arrive you are told that you have to move from your spot. It's now a busy bar time and you have a large group of people and no table. It's very frustrating. We spoke to a manger the last time this happened & they were quite matter of fact and frankly didn't care. I enjoyed bringing clients to this spot during the day as it would not be over crowded or too loud but the lack of customer service is too much. It's a very limited food menu. I would not come here if you are hungry for a large meal. The food is overpriced for what you receive.

Best Rooftop Bar in Chicago!

By ChicagoSisu |

You can not beat the view from the J Parker and the best part is that with it's retractable glass roof it is open year round! The cocktails and food are amazing. This is a great bar not only for individuals but this is the perfect place to host a small or large group.

Boisterous bar rooftop restaurant in the driving rain

By Mary W |

We stopped in for a needed late-afternoon bite on Saturday 4/30, the last day of April. Driving rain and wind outdoors made for foggy views of Lake Michigan. Inside the glass roofed atrium, the servers paid close attention to all of the many guests. We ate hand-cut fries with a malt-vinegar aioli, and a green-pea salad with lemon vinaigrette that was excellent. The bussers were attentive with frequent water glass refills. Appreciated. Pink bubbles, Basil Hayden bourbon, vodka lemonade all graced the table. A to-go slider disappeared quickly! Noise level became excessive. But, folks were all having fun. We will return.

Cocktails with a view

By Lisa C |

Getting off the elevator onto the rooftop lounge, you immediately know you've arrived by the cacophony of sounds. Loud, but fun! People in every nook and cranny--reserved sofas and chairs, first come first seated tables or just standing-- people watching and looking at the gorgeous views of The Lake. Servers walking around with fresh glasses of water while you take in the sights and sounds, and drinks, of Chicago!

Nice rooftop bar!

By TravelingTheWorld |

We enjoyed the view from the narrow, outdoor rooftop section. The main rooftop area was closed for a private event. The indoor area was very small and crowded, but the bartenders were friendly and ready to serve us. You have to wait for the bouncer to let you go up (elevator). Great place!

Nice view of the City of Chicago!

By rgoben |

We went here to get a nice view of the city of Chicago and that is what we got, along with a nice cold beverage.

Great view and drinks!

By Alexis B |

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Lincoln and went up to J Parker to grab a drink before dinner. On a Wednesday evening at 6:30 it was PACKED! Like no tables available (and there are a lot of tables- it's a pretty big roofdeck!) and you could barely even get to the bar. It was people of all different age groups and seemed to be a lot of after-work drink gatherings. We were in line to go back downstairs (we wanted a drink and an app, so without a table we decided to go elsewhere) when my husband spotted a table that just opened up! So lucky. (It's all self-seating.) It was right on the edge with an awesome view, so we got some fries and drinks and everything was good. Waitress was very nice. Drinks are pricey but that's expected because you're paying for the view. When we left at 7:30ish, another couple with good timing got our table and they were pleasantly surprised because it was still completely full. Definitely recommend if the weather is good!

Trendy place to get a drink

By Carol C |

The cocktails were imaginative and excellent. The view is wonderful- It looks out over Lincoln Park and Lake Michigan. Service is good too

Denied service with no apology

By nictsiz |

My girlfriend and I went with our daughter who is 8. When we entered we were told we could seat ourselves - no sooner had we ordered our drinks then the manager came over and told us we had to leave. No apology, no courtesy. We have stayed at the hotel before and this comports with the haughtiness we experienced then. If you like your drinks with a view and pretense then this is your place.

Nice rooftop, modest drink, food options

By Paul Philpott |

The view is really nice, and the buildout is fine...though the inside area has unnecessarily sparse amount of window space, and thus limited view. The inside table we had last night suffered from lack of proper washing; it was sticky and otherwise yucky, as was the floor in that area. The very limited menu has reasonable prices, but the items that require dipping or spreading come with so few chips or toast that you end up with salsa, hummus, cheese, or corn/bean dip and nothing on which to put it. Thus much of what we ordered went to waste, as none of us invested the effort to request what should have been provided by default: enough toast and chips. The fact that the waitress didn't notice or offer is another disappointment. No beers on tap, all in cans. The menu section labeled "Craft Beer" lists swill like Bud Lite and Tecate, demonstrating serious lack of food sophistication. The liquor selection includes some worthy bottles, but the cocktails employ soda from a gun, so don't presume authentic craft cocktails (as you shouldn't given that the list of "craft beer" includes megacorp beer). Outside the gas firepits are nice, and provide warmth, and the view really is nice. Our party of 8 had a very nice time, but the food and bev options detracted for me to the point were I won't seek it out for a second visit, but if others have selected this, I'll attend, but with slim expectations.

Great views

By Mike M |

We had drinks at Hotel Lincoln's rooftop atrium bar yesterday. It's a great space with some amazing views of the city, Lincoln Park and the Lake. Definitely worth checking out if your in the Lincoln Park area.

View is great but prices are steep making it an Average rating for me:)

By criticnumber1 |

We attempted to have a pre dinner drink but the choices were limited and very expensive. 2 of us and we each had one drink and it was $35. Nice to see but wouldnt stay for the night if I was a hotel guest.

Excellent rooftop bar! Must-visit

By Beering |

This is probably one of the best rooftop bars in town! Drinks are great and the view is amazing. It's got a great vibe to it. The best part - it's got a glass rooftop (I'm not sure if any other rooftop bar in Chicago has that). So in case the weather turns or it rains it doesn't ruin your evening. We were quite happy outside even with the thunder rolling around us! Note: great place for brunch. The covered rooftop makes it an easy visit irrespective of the weather.

We came here for happy hour on a Friday. The place was crowded, but not uncomfortable. Service was surprisingly good for it being so full. The view was spectacular. We didn't eat, so I can't comment on the food. But it was really fun!

One of the Worst Rooftop Bar Experiences – Bewar

By Aparna P |

One of the Worst Rooftop Bar Experiences – Beware! This place is nothing but a cheap rooftop bar with ridiculously overpriced, stale drinks. I went with my siblings and we ordered margaritas—each one came out to $55! When I confronted the staff, they casually claimed it was because the Patron tequila used was $45 per drink. That’s absolutely insane. I’m outraged and honestly horrified that they think this is acceptable. There was no warning, no transparency—just a massive bill for subpar drinks in a mediocre setting. Total rip-off. Be warned before you waste your time and money here.

Unique Lincoln Park Rooftop Bar

By chi_dave |

The J. Parker, rightfully so, is no longer a "hidden" gem in Lincoln Park. We had a 15 minute wait or so to be allowed up to the top of the Hotel Lincoln, to the J. Parker bar. We came up for a drink before dinner (at Perennial Virant), and to enjoy the awesome views of Lincoln Park and the lake, and the downtown Chicago skyline. Seating can be a bit hard to come by (you need some luck), and the music can be a bit loud in the outside bar area, and the drinks are a bit pricey, but the views make up for it.

Beautiful View

By jpkaye |

Held a little happy hour gathering and on Friday night for our son's friends. It was wonderful and our server kept up with the every changing group.
