Lovely

The natural light at breakfast time combined with the clean colors and decor made it a beautiful breakfast. Service was outstanding.

Dinner in the Library

By txsingleexplorer |

Very friendly bartender. Started with the scallops which were delicious. Then had the braised lamb shank. When I think of a braised shank, I think of the hours in the braise, the result of which should be a rich, hearty sauce. Not so here. Very bland, pale sauce, just simply lacking in flavor. What a disappointment. The menu also had multiple typos-not expected in an upscale environment.

Good breakfasts; NO dinner service

By Luv2TravelFarNWide |

Nice options for breakfast, although not cheap. Good service. Never seemed overly busy. Shocked that they are NOT open for dinner. This is the only restaurant in a 4-star hotel. How can it not serve dinner?!

Great food!

By Yury_tx |

Very good service. Great food. One of the appetizers – spring roll – was just a bit too spicy, another one – tuna tartar - just perfect. Outstanding main courses, we had pork osso bucco and grouper. Good house wine, both chardonnay and cabernet. Reasonable prices considering the high quality of the food. On a down side: Uncomfortable chairs. Not very “cool” dining environment. Wine glasses not sparklingly clean – water stain, etc. We had to ask for a replacement. Overall, very good restaurant. I am sure we will be back.

Best Dining Experience

By Charkle |

Food and service were excellent at both breakfast and dinner. Good menus with plenty of choice. Extensive wine list also a feature. Very pleasant atmosphere for dining. Excellent service from wonderful, knowledgable staff.

Part of the Melrose experience

By ddmariah |

I miss their lavish Sunday buffets, but a perfectly fine hotel dining experience.

Stay Away, you have better options

By JMS777 |

Save your time and your money. Extremely disappointed with all aspects of service. The attention to detail and management's response to our concerns went mostly ignored. I was supposed to receive a call from the Manager on Monday and have yet to hear from him. I'm not sure how this place stays in business as we were there on a Friday night and the place was empty. Perhaps Dallas already knows what we know now. You have plenty of other options in Dallas if you would like to spend a nice chunk of change on a special dinner.

Heavenly Sunday Brunch

By IeatVeggies |

This is a 3 course meal!!! Start out w a lovely Mimosa or Champagne. Try the Chilled Fruit Cocktail for a deliciously fresh surprise...pineapple soup w citrus whipped cream! Their Eggs and Vegetable Benedict is exquisite! Be sure to leave room, dessert is included. The Carrot Cake is killer. The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy and the coffee is perfect! If you ever wanted to impress for a special occasion this Brunch is a home run!!!

A Class Act

By marshree |

For the ambience, service and quality of food, the prices are reasonable. Reminds one of a bygone era. The severs are professional but not stuffy. A nice place to dine.

Great, if you're staying at the hotel

By Dani G |

Nice, but pricey. Great service. The bread is amazing. Only had the beet salad and the pan seared oysters "shareable ", but it was more than enough for a full meal! Would not drive to get to this restaurant, but if already staying at the Warwick Melrose hotel, it's not a bad option.

Classic Warwick Hotel

By Run_ar0und |

Came here for lunch. Valet parking only and it is on the side entrance where there is no sign into the building. We pulled into the Oak Lawn entrance and there is a sign to redirect you. Not too hard to find but had to drive around. Valet personal just stood there and poor direction, no sure if it's because there is not too much traffic. Never been here, hotel itself is old and classy. Went to the Landmark, greeted well. 1 other patron to dine for lunch. Service is average, waited longer then usual for food to come out as we are the only 2 people dinning. Food is average with fine dinning, building is old but classy.

FOODIE

By jeaneane67 |

I've been to the Landmark a few times and have always had a great dining experience. The food comes out looking presentable in terms of quality, hot, and delicious in a timely manner. Service is very good and the ambience is quiet and romantic.

An oasis.....

By tylang2016 |

An oasis of charm and good service in the midst of a hectic life. Fits well into the Warwick Melrose, but could easily be a destination point for its own value. Great staff and my compliments to the chef.

Dinner

By Jack C |

Good food, freindly and comfortable setting, service was great.

slow and little character

By khwg |

Food was okay. They would not bend on letting me have a salad that was part of the 3 course meal. It wasn't anything complicated so it seemed silly to deny my request.

Amazing Food and Service

By saadallas |

Jackie Shed was a fantastic server!! Very enjoyable evening!! We had a large party of 8. She made in very relaxing and fun for all!!

Sunday brunch At the Melrose

By Chuck M |

Sunday brunch was fantastic and our waiter Gene was an absolute delight. Highly recommend setting in his section!

Beautiful Food

By ThorntonNYC |

While attending a conference at The Warwick I was fortunate to have had several meals at this lovely restaurant. I love the surprise combinations creating wonderful taste sensations. Highly recommend.

Disappointing...

By TheOwlReviewer |

I had high expectations for the Landmark and came away disappointed. It started when we has to wait several minutes to be greeted by one of the waiters. (There was no maitre d', host, or hostess.) Our waiter seemed disinterested and not at all what I expected from a restaurant of this caliber. Our food (we both had steaks) was okay - nothing special. The wine selection was good. All in all, I would give the Landmark a grade of "C." There are much better restaurants in the area.

Love Breakfast Here!

By Roostrdude |

The Eggs Benedict are my favorite, with lots of Egg sBenedict variations to choose from. The waitstaff is very attentive.

Delicious prime rib in Dallas

By RinSunPhom |

Experience luxury with every bite! Located inside the iconic the Warwick Hotel, The Landmark Prime Rib makes the perfect destination for any occasion. They're offering prime rib carved to your specifications from their unique stainless steel serving carts. As soon as Connie introduced herself I knew she was going to be fabulous. She was professional, energetic, and knowledgeable. Thank you James, Scott, Mirasole, and Connie!

Fine Dining

By TravelWell040 |

We dine out often and are critical when service is poor. Usually, one can tell immediately what to expect. The Landmark is truly exceptional in both staffing attentiveness and food preparation. The hostess greeted us immediately. Even though we failed to make reservations during a very busy weekend, the staff accommodated us. The restaurant was full, yet we noticed no degradation of service. The food was excellent; wine superb and matched with the food. I recommend the Landmark without hesitation.

OK....

By JerryTulsa |

Had a breakfast that was decent but average. Seamed like a very few people were trying to handle everything. Nice room and a good setting.

Great food and atmosphere

By CyclingGeo |

We were quite pleased with the meal, the wine, the atmosphere and the attentive waiter. A nice getaway from the suburbs. Brunch the following morning was very good.

The Landmark is Excellent

By TravelWell040 |

Normally we stay away from hotel restaurants. They are one or more of the following: overpriced, poor service, poor food. The Landmark is a BIG EXCEPTION! A part of the Melrose Warwick Hotel, we had two dinners and breakfasts, and one small lunch in the adjoining The Library Bar. The food is excellent. The quality is superb with the portions just right. The Midwestern Angus steak was tender and delicious. The grupper was cooked perfect. Breakfast has a wide choice from healthy cereals to eggs benedict or salmon. The staff is efficient and polite. During December 2010 there is a 3 for $30 ($5 extra for the Angus and Grupper) that includes an appetizer, entree, dessert, and a large sampling of their house wines (Columbia Crest) which were very good. We will go back the next time we stay at the Melrose Warwick.

Amazing Prime Rib Dinner

By BobLDallas_TX |

The Prime Rib is served from a closed cart in the dining room. You can inspect the roast and carving sizes before you order. Both the "Dallas" cut and the "English" were generous and delicious as were the garlic mashed potatoes and gravy. Everything was cooked and prepared just right for us. The Prime Rib dinner also includes a choice of a Melrose or Caesar Salad. We chose the Melrose and it was wonderful. Our server, Dustin, was professional, friendly, and attentive - perfect. He chose a lovely wine to accompany our meal. The chef stopped by our table to check on us and the Maitre'd, Dovie made sure we were happy. As we left the Melrose Hotel, LaVeta on the front desk also asked about our restaurant experience. Everyone was thoughtfully engaged, not just phoning it in. An Amazing meal with a terrific staff in a lovely dining room - who could ask for more? We will certainly go back.

Great Food and Service

By TravelWell040 |

We ate at the Landmark and loved their new decor. The service and food were excellent. The price of the food is not unreasonable for a hotel of this size. The servicers are attentive and know the menu and wine. Our only complaint was the background music which was more suited for a hipster than an upscale hotel restaurant. We brought it to the attention to the hotel management who said they would take it up with the owner of the hotel. The Easter brunch on Sunday was fully booked with an over flow crowd filling the other ballrooms, lounge, and library.

Quaint and Elegant

By GrapeHeart |

Many hotel restaurants are cold and impersonal but the Landmark restaurant is anything but! Warm and charming with an air of sophistication is the best way to describe the restaurant. Wine lust is nice and has old favorites and also some interesting finds. Menu has mostly traditional fare which can be reassuring with so many restaurants with extreme complicated choices. The bar is called the Library is fabulous for before or after dinner drinks. Terrific piano players.

great breakfast

By DougBellatti |

We regularly eat at the Landmark restaurant on the weekends for their delicious breakfasts, and the waiter Gene is terrific!

Just ok

By Sylvia C |

Stayed at the hotel associated with the restaurant and had breakfast here. It was a little bit of a let down. I had the American breakfast. Had to send the eggs back because they tasted like vinegar (maybe some of the poaching water got on my plate, I don't know, but they were not good). The hashbrowns were recommended, they were okay, tasted just like what I would get at a Denny's or iHop, which is fine, but given the reviews and style of the hotel, I was expecting more. Even the OJ tasted like it was straight from the bottle (was expected fresh squeezed). This place was okay and I loved the hotel, but the restaurant was a bit of a let down.

Not great this trip

By Barry W |

My food has been wonderful in the past, not sure what the difference was this time. I ordered both Room Service and dined at the Landmark, it was average, which was very surprising.

Maintaining a great tradition

By jmccarty3 |

We have eaten at the Landmark several times, but one of our favorite meals here is Sunday brunch, which we enjoyed again this morning. The restaurant has been redecorated since we were here last, and I must say I preferred it the way it was, although the elegant old marble floors remain. The food, fortunately, is as excellent as ever. Brunch is presented here as a three course meal. For the first course, my wife and her friend enthused over the pineapple-infused soup, which I enjoyed the braised sea scallops. Then, as I am a hopeless traditionalist, I had eggs Benedict, while the ladies had sausage and cheese stuffed chicken with asparagus risotto. We washed all of this down with a festive Moët & Chandon Imperial Brut Rosé, which, as Champagnes do, went well with everything. We were more than pleased with the food, the presentation, and the service, and we look forward to our next visit to this venerable property.

Breakfast Is Good

By John J |

I had breakfast here while staying at the Melrose. Good solid food. Eggs not overdone, bacon crisp as it should be. Don't know about dinner, but breakfast is solid.

hidden treasure

By Donna Lee G |

Awesome food, great specials, excellent prices. So very convenient in the hotel. Service was outstanding.

Dinner

By Judy |

The Landmark restaurant staff Jackie, Rafael, and Carlos were very friendly, helpful and professional. The chef also knows how to cook a perfect steak!! It was the best I ever had, very tender. Our whole dinner was delicious.

great breakfast

By dmpope63 |

We enjoyed several very good breakfasts recently at the Landmark. Good service and many menu choices. Great space to enjoy breakfast. I particularly enjoyed the Migas.

Always Great Food and Service

By TravelWell040 |

Once again while staying at the Warwick Melrose we ate at the Landmark which reminds me of European Dining at grand hotels. The filet and the grouper were excellent. Service is very good with attentive staff. The Breakfast menu has a good selection. The restaurant is about to undergo an extensive renovation. We hope the charm and style will continue to compliment the hotel.

great Melrose salad with tender chicken

By Bill W |

This restaurant is part of the Warwick Melrose Dallas boutique hotel, located on Oak Lawn Avenue. I tried their Melrose salad - red oak, green leaf, cranberries, peppered goat cheese, candied pecans, topped with a champagne vinaigrette dressing - and added chicken. Their chicken was a nice-portion chicken breast that was lightly grilled so that it was served on top of the salad moist and tender. Very delicious; highly recommend. They have some great selections for their dinner menu as well.

Nice bar menu

By PhoenixMB |

Bar menu was the right balance of food where you don't sit there feeling like a hog while the person at the bar next to you eats a chip. Food has always been consistent.

Excellent Food

By Nicky H |

We ate their breakfast and evening meals. Oatmeal was outstanding (weird, I know). Loved the sliders and hamburgers as well.

Under used for great food and service

By Festivalgoddess |

We visited on a Friday night at 8 pm and we were the only table. The salad and shrimp cocktail were great. The filet was just OK. The menu was diverse and reasonably priced. Our staff was excellent. The decor reminded me more of a breakfast/lunch room. They are only open for dinner from 5-10 pm, so don't wait too late. Next time we will probably eat in the bar since most of the same food is available there.

One of the best brunches in Dallas

By HP_Texas |

The staff are very friendly and provide excellent service. Multiple high quality food options for everyone at the table. The hotel and restaurant are very charming. Highly recommend

Easter Buffet

By Anne B |

All the fav foods and more! Tables far apart enough for our large group to visit. Wait-staff attentive and kept the champagne flowing.

Drive through

By WandaFaye |

We stopped in Dallas on our way to Midland and had dinner at the Landmark. It seemed to be a busy night but the service was on point. Right when we thought our server forgot about us Jackie came in and saved the day. She turned it around. On top of that the food was awesome. I tip my hat to the chef. I will be back the next time I visit Dallas.

Great place for breakfast, nice staff, food was very good.

By Michael A B |

Stayed at this hotel for a week. The Landmark is just that, old and stately. My breakfast was great, so pretty certain the rest of the menu would be good as well.

Quiet, relaxing, and delicious

By 858texan |

I love this place. Menu is very limited which lends it to specialize in different blended flavors. It is classy and relaxing. All of the staff are so pleasant AND they are not imposing. They serve efficiently and quickly. I am on business staying at the beautiful hotel. This is a great place after a hard day. The food is excellent

Does not get a second chance!

By Carolea G |

Surprise, we were the only 2 people in the entire restaurant! Great service, but it ended there. Salad was good, not much you could do to ruin it. Ordered the chicken, was to be sautéed .... Deep fried. Cold mashed potatoes. Little salad greens on top...best part of dish. My husband warned me to never go to a restaurant that was empty...sorry I did not heed his warning. Cannot figure out how this previously wonderful restaurant stays open or the service employees can make a living.

We had high expectations, bad experience

By Christopher M |

We had high expectations and the food was actually pretty good... but the service was PAINFUL. The staff were friendly, but so poorly trained and low staffed and took an hour for entrés. For a former fine restaurant, our server had the knowledge and skill of a weak Denny's server. They made mistakes that were too many to count. Brought the wrong wine, had NO idea about the wine list and I had to get up and find someone 3-4 times because something was not right. We WATCHED 4 other groups of 4-6 people each DEPART before ordering because the server took so long to either A) Bring their drinks, or B) Greet them. >>>Management needs to start with a whole new staff. Really a shocking experience for a "nice hotel" and what was intended to be fine dining. Ouch!! Hire all new staff.

Dinner

By Scielbi |

An excellent dinner with very good service. One of the better meals we had here in Dallas. Definitely worth eating here. The food, presentation & taste of each dish was excellent. Nice atmosphere and a nice selection of wines even good wines by the glass.

Much more than the usual hotel restaurant

By jmccarty3 |

My wife and I, along with another couple, recently spent a weekend at the elegant old Melrose Hotel in Dallas, and dined at the Landmark Restaurant our first night there. We had made reservations at some other fine restaurants in Dallas for the remainder of our weekend, but the Landmark proved to be the highlight of our trip. Both the menu and the wine list were interesting and imaginative, and I was particularly delighted with the fine old Alsatian Riesling and the moderately priced Burgundy we enjoyed. Everything the four of us had to eat was unusually good, and the service was personal and attentive. We went back for Sunday brunch before leaving Dallas and had an equally fine meal. Highly recommended.

Very nice atmosphere. Very small portions

By ChrisReedDFW |

I realize that "nicer" restaurants serve smaller portions but this seemed especially minute. This is one of the places where you pay for the main course and everything else is extra, soup, salad, vegetables, everything. The food was good but I'm just not so well refined that $34 for four bites if Sea Bass makes sense.

Great food, great service!

By LAtravelerSF |

I like the suggestions giving by David, I think his name was David anyway. Anyway, I had the Foie Gras appetizer and the Duck as the main course. My friend had a large, custom made Caesar salad. Everything was perfect.

Food Poisoning

By JimLosAngelesLetsGo |

I got food poisoning in this restaurant and was up for 3 hours in the middle of the night vomiting. Perhaps other people have as well and that's why the restaurant was completely empty at 8pm on a Thursday evening.

Wonderful Dinner

By 250ambern |

My husband and I loved the quiet atmosphere. The dining room was so grand and very tastefully decorated. The food was very good. We each had the 3 for $35 meal and the tomato bisque with cornbread croutons was very flavorful and the best tomato soup I've ever had! I only wish there would have been more options for that meal deal. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Our glasses were never empty and each course came out with perfect timing. We will eat here again.

Perfect in every way!

By jixers |

Classic fine dining experience, service very friendly and professional. Hubby and I enjoyed the Caesar and Melrose salads, both portions were very generous. Lobster Mac ‘n Cheese was delicious, very rich&filling, took half of it home. Hubby enjoyed the sea bass which was served with pea purée and spinach. Lovely and relaxing evening!

Trying to be great.

By Sanford F |

The Landmark is located in Warwick Hotel and probably was once an outstanding restaurant. I think they are good, but not great and it seems that they might be struggling a little. They advertise 3 courses for $35, a great deal. There are no table linens and the finish on wooden table was peeling off. Not a good look. Service was OK and the food was very good, just not great.

quiet weekday spot with great service and foodie dishes

By Kelly E |

My husband and I chose The Landmark for our anniversary this year and found it to be a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The restaurant is beautifully appointed if a little hushed. We were there on a weeknight and had the place to ourselves periodically. We were pleased with everything we tried from the "amuse bouche" to the warmed stout cake dessert. Even the house wine was pretty good. The service was attentive but never annoying.

good for business breakfast

By C K |

loved breakfast...a lot of budiness going on at tables ... quiet environment ... unbelievably wonderful, quiet, but attentive, service

Delicious meal, but expected a little more food

By Genine E |

I enjoyed sampling The Landmark for restaurant week, as the options for the prix-fix lunch menu at $20 (only water included) were delicious! However, to compare the portion size of the two courses, I could only say the Salmon and prawn option made for the better meal, as the gazpacho and lobster Manicotti is not very filling. However, their brunch option is available for $9 more, and would include drinks and a dessert option. Since we had never tried their signature dishes, we opted to taste something other than eggs and pancakes on this day. In the future, I would go for the brunch menu, and be very particular in picking something to fill you up, for the price you'll pay to eat the other courses ;)

Anniversary

By Angell S |

The Landmark restaurant inside the Warwick hotel is absolutely worth a try. The staff is very welcoming and warm. The lighting is just right for a special evening with that special someone. The food was great. I cannot say enough good things about our experience. Also try The Library bar if time allows. You won't be disappointed.

Delicious Brunch!

By SMALLTOWN2BIGCITY |

My husband and I were celebrating an early Valentine. We decided to book reservations at 11 AM on Sunday to enjoy the Mamosa bar and Bloody Mary bar. We started off with jalapeño biscuit and sausage gravy which was amazing. The blue crab Benedict we chose as our entrée was another amazing choice. The wait staff was very friendly, But I must admit, a little slow. I would highly recommend the Landmark restaurant at the Warwick Melrose Hotel. We have been here several times over the past few years and have never been disappointed.

Wonderful food. Fantastic service. Geat atmosphere.

Great Breakfast

By Dean S |

Decent price and friendly staff, worth a visit. Try the Eggs Benedict. Clean, fresh and air conditioned with very nice coffee.

Mothers Day gem

By Jedda1 |

Kids and I took Mom here for Mother's Day brunch. Place was packed! However, the staff was excellent, very attentive and never missed a beat. The food was very good, and considering the shear amount of items on a buffet, have to give them big marks. The food was never out, was hot, tasty and a very good variety of dishes. I'd love to visit on a day that wasn't so busy as the food must be amazingly good.

Excellent Easter Brunch

By dghgb |

Just had do comment on wonderful Easter Brunch at the Landmark. The wide variety of well prepared items was nicely presented and service was excellent!

Once again an exceptional meal

By TravelWell040 |

We had dinner after a long drive and were once again rewarded with a superb meal and service. The wine list is exceptional, the ambience relaxing, and the staff attentive. The Landmark is part of the Warwick Melrose Hotel. The restaurant's decor compliments an establishment built in the early twentieth century of great hotels. On Sunday morning, a wedding party had their after affair breakfast in the large dining room. I could tell that they were pleased with the service and food. Also available is the adjacent Library which serves meals late and has a full bar.

Terrible !

By cristianonyc |

After waiting for 15 minutes once seated at the table the girl at the reception took my order , not a regular waiter . Drink arrived promptley , and my Negroni was well done . Food arrived after 40 minutes : a $ 34 sea bass was the size of hotel bathroom soap ! The side vegetable orders were uneatble , so salty . The meal was a complete disaster , and lack Of service . I complained and they comp my dinner , but my evening was ruined ! Don't go there !

I COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF...

By Monica W |

I COULDN'T GET ENOUGH OF THE CHEESE PLATE! WOW! THE RIB-EYE WAS PHENOM! EXPENSIVE BUT REALLY WORTH IT!

A lovely jewell

By ChuckDallas |

The Landmark Restaurant is the main dining room for The Melrose Hotel/Warick Hotel in the Oak Lawn neighborhood of Dallas. The Melrose Hotel was built in the 1920s and the restaurant reflects the elegance of grand hotels of that era. Natural light pours in from the windows that are found everywhere. The ceiling is of a double heigth, the tables are nicely spaced etc. It's a lovely spot for a private conversation or a group. The staff are gracious and efficient, the food is very good. The Landmark and the hotel remind us that the small things - nice linens, views, quiet conversations - still matter.

Avoid - overpriced and boring food

By Brooks H |

The decor is dismal with cheap vinyl chairs and an unimaginative menu. There does not appear to be an executive chef and the menu looks completely institutional. No farm to table or anything really current and fresh. And the price point is way too high for the food. Could be fantastic as the room is amazing, but there is no polish behind the veneer.

Not such a landmark

By edith m |

Wednesday night, hotel packed but restaurant empty should have been my first clue. Service: wonderful. Attentiveness and professional Wine selection: good Food: I was feeling adventurous and ordered the rib eye steak. Tasted like a chuck roast supermarket filet. Pretty sure the rice pilaf was right out of a box that said "Uncle Ben". The only flavor added to the whole meal came from the salt I added at the table.

Horrible neighborhood.

By Patty R |

We were in Dallas on business. Horrible experience as I witnessed two men laying in the grass on the side of the building and one having sex with himself. This we saw when walking around to the side of the building looking for the reataurant. Our lunch was good but my eyes still hurt. We'll never go there again.

Impeccable Dining Experience

By Mariah H |

This was the first time I or my partner had dined at this establishment and we were not disappointed! The restaurant was well-appointed with a luxury look and feel. The staff was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable and well trained to meet the upscale standards. The food was timed perfectly. The menu was inspired, yet refined and the portions were appropriate. We tried the escargot and pork belly, and foie gras to start - which were perfectly cooked to highlight the delicate flavors of each. This was followed with the lobster and shrimp pasta and the rack of lamp, both delicious and savory in their own way. The pasta was based in a creamy garlic butter sauce with paired perfectly with the lobster, shrimp and wide egg noodles, and the medium rare lamb melted in you mouth complimented with a perfectly seasoned risotto. Their wine list is second to none and the desert - a layered chocolate cake was so good not a crumb was left. We will definitely be returning, and look forward to our next visit. Charlie was our waiter - ask to be seated in his section!

Room Service only used....

By 401mirandab |

Can't speak for the restaurant itself, but the room service portion was ok... We had breakfast 2 mornings in a row and it was decent...

Good Food

By Bonnie M |

Good food, excellent service, quiet and reasonable $. We had Christmas lunch that was buffet style spread throughout the lobby. It was excellent. They had every food imaginable. It was delicious. Also had breakfast, yum, great pancakes.

Delicious food. Nice evening out.

By Taylor Q |

Located inside the Warwick Hotel I very much enjoyed The Landmark! The ambiance is so elegant in this historic hotel, it has a very charming old-world feel. Our server was fantastic and was quick and attentive. The food is out of this world! I had the Prime tenderloin and my husband had the famous prime rib. We both loved our food and the desserts were great too. Stop by The Library Bar after dinner for a fun little nightcap too.

New Year's Eve fiasco

By Passport195841 |

Booked into hotel for new year's eve. Dinner reservations at 8 prompt. Two couples. Chaos reigned. Drink order didnt arrive until 8:40 and only then when both my husband and I had practically begged 3 different waiters For it. Food was good, but hastily and randomly popped down on the table. As fans of this restaurant we had invited a couple from Out of town to join us. Very embarrassed at entire situation and the dinner was priced at $85 a head! Breakfast was not much better as we had to beg for orange jiuce. Waiter was very sour. We tried to laugh it off But really?? Good bye Landmark and any further recomendations Respectfully, Patty Ferguson Canterbury

Great service

By Totto38 |

we stayed at the hotel and came in for a quick bite of lunch after flying all day. We got there very close to closing, but you would never have known it as the staff was really very nice. We just ordered a couple of sandwiches and fries. Really good. Hotel pricing, but the staff made up for it. I would go back again and pay $14 for a sandwich only because of the staff. You really do get what you pay for.

Nice dining experience

By Louis H |

On a recent business trip, I ate both breakfast and lunch in this restaurant. It is nicely decorated, comfortable, and the staff is great. For breakfast, I had eggs Benedict with a side of bacon. I love it when they ask if you would like your bacon crispy or no. For lunch, I had the weekly grilled cheese special and yellow tomato soup. The sandwiches come served on big Texas toast which makes for a lot of bread. The grilled cheese was pretty good, but the yellow tomato soup was exceptional. Others in my group we're also pleased with their meals, but the salad we're not quite big enough for some to make a filling lunch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you were staying in the hotel.

Good food in a peaceful atmosphere

By TravellingBee338 |

I came here with my daughter when we visited dallas. The restaurant was close to empty on a Saturday night at 8pm. The service was incredibly slow (10 minutes to get a glass of wine) but everything (food, appetizers, entree) was delicious and because there were so few customers it was so calm and relaxing. I wish the service had been a bit better though - as is I have to leave this as a 3 star event.

NEW YEARS MENU AND DINNER AT LANDMARK RESTAURANT DALLAS

By Don T |

Was a bit disappointed with the menu for New years eve dinner. I never find it acceptable for any high end restaurant to limit their menu on Special occasions. You go out on a special occasion to enjoy a nice dinner and celebrate the occasion. For a venue to decide on a limited menu destroys the attraction of the venue and often cheapens the experience. This is exactly what occurred on NYE at the Landmark. They prepared a menu of limited items and unfortunately the quality of the the menu left much to be desired. The waiter who was originally from the Congo however was TOP NOTCH. Excellent service and very personable. If I were basing my review on the server it would be Five Stars. Not so much on the limits menu. Especially the steak. Very poor quality.

Nice atmosphere

By Lola M |

We had a nice dinner as part of a large group in this beautiful, classic hotel. The dinner was served as a buffet that included pasta, chicken, rice, fries, salmon, salad and yumm chocolate and lemon desserts...service was nice and attentive. Really enjoyed it-

Unfortunate

By Jeffrey D |

The dinner started off well enough. I actually liked my appetizer of seared foie gras, and the waitress was anxious to please although she did seem a bit new to the job. The main problem was that apparently they were having trouble in the kitchen, and we waited for our main entree for an hour and a half. The manager came to our table after I complained that not only did the entrees take forever to arrive, but that 2 out of 3 of them arrived cold (well, not exactly cold, but not hot either.) This, of course, is completely unacceptable for a restaurant of this caliber. The manager ended up removing our entrees as well as a few other items from our bill. This was considerate of her, and I definitely appreciated the gesture, but I'm just not sure that I would return again for dinner. There are so many other top restaurants in the neighborhood, I'm not sure why I would want to come back to this one.

Can't wait for breakfast!!

By RitaHayek |

The Landmark is the perfect place to have breakfast. The food tastes so good. The waiters are so friendly. The ambiance is perfect for a good morning. I would definitely recommend to try this place if you're staying at the Warwick Hotel or up for a breakfast treat in Dallas.

GREAT Sunday Brunch -- NOT to be missed!!

GREAT Sunday Brunch -- NOT to be missed!!

Wonderful Sunday brunch!

By leskobear |

Didn't have reservations, though we stayed in the hotel, but reception and waiter seemed to dwell on it. Was never busy and we were there til noon. However, the delicious brunch made up for whatever slight we felt. Smooth and creamy corn chowder, excellent eggs benedict and apple pie with ice cream for dessert. The waiter was very attentive with bottomless mimosas, which were excellent. Wonderful start to a Dallas morning!

Nice Dining at the Hotel

By Ron R |

I had a breakfast meal and a lunch meal here -- nice menu, reasonable prices, and very accommodating wait staff. I had grilled iceberg salad for lunch -- just the right size and very creative presentation. Plus it was really good!

Hesitant, but not disappointed

I have stayed at the Melrose several times through the years, but never dined at the Landmark restaurant. I have always had a thing against eating in hotel restaurants, with the exception of the French Room in the Adolphis Hotel. Due to time constraints, I chose to dine at the Landmark prior to an evening at the theatre. I was not disappointed by my choice. My party was quickly greeted by the hostess as we approached the restaurant and quickly ushered to our table. The waiter was with us instantly asking for our drink orders. The menu is diverse, but I must say the Shrimp Crab Louie was so good and beautifully presented. I followed this with the deep sea scallops which were delicious too. I am glad I discovered the Landmark...I'll be back!

Great update on an old school Dallas restaurant

By Jeremy L |

My favorite at the Landmark is always Sunday brunch. An amazing recent redo of the whole space gave this great space some new life. You can actually hold a conversation over brunch, which is noce, too. They have periodically run out of offerings early in the brunch service which is a little perplexing. We'll definitely be going again.

Not great

Stayed two nights at the Warwick. Had one dinner and two breakfasts. Dinner was pricey but the food was average. Looked great when they brought it but I've had better shrimp (much better) at Pappadeaux down the street. Breakfast was very good with great service.

An absolute Gem

We ate here for two evenings during our stay at the warwick melrose hotel. It was a delight to eat somewhere that wasn't a 'burger' or 'steak' house! The food was delicious, and looked as good on the plate as it tasted, portions were a very good size, as quite often in a nice restaurant the food is lovely, but you don't always get enough. Our first evening dining here was on a monday evening and was very quiet, although we didn't mind, our waitress was polite, professional and knew all the food that was being served. The Tuesday evening was a lot busier, but this did not falt our service or experience at all. Fresh water was provided at the table as soon as your glass was emptying. The only downfall is that we live in England, so unfortunately may never visit this restaurant again, but if i lived locally, I would be a very frequent visitor.

This is a review for the breakfast. We made a weekend trip to Dallas and stayed at the Warwick Melrose which was great. On the morning of departure, ice storm was approaching so we decided to stay in and have breakfast at the hotel. It's expensive but that's how it is if you eat at hotels. What ruined the morning was long black hair found quarter way into my waffle. Didn't want to make big deal out of it. So we wrote a note on a survey card that came with the bill. I also filled out (automated) survey sent from the hotel and mentioned this incident. Response? None. I'm pretty disappointed.

Mediocre expensive Breakfast

Extended Family met here for breakfast after stay for a wedding also at hotel. Restaurant was not crowded at all but still had to wait about 10 minutes to be seated. We were finally seated at a high table with bar stool height chairs, even though my mother in law was obviously handicapped & in a wheelchair. We were there over an hour and a half, while trying to get out of town at a decent time. My food order was mixed up with my brother in law's, with no apology or attempt to fix the situation. His toast was burnt. Most greasy spoons wouldn't serve food like that, let alone a place in this price range. I was told that the Melrose potatoes were cubed as opposed to hash browns. I was brought out of the bag frozen hash browns & wish I had kept them when I received a few undercooked potato wedges. Several food items were put on the wrong plates & no one cared. This was probably the most overpriced, pretentious, ridiculous place I've ever eaten. Apparently this whole Oak Lawn area of Dallas is overpriced, but you'd still be better of to go elsewhere.

Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

This was my first experience here, at both the Hotel and it’s restaurant. They impressed me enough so I know that I will probably dine here again when staying in the area. The staff was pleasant, food well-prepared and delicious, and it was a comfortably sized space that was simple though elegant. I enjoyed their breakfast, lunch, and dinner during my weekend stay.

Excellent service & food

By marissad1234 |

Our hostess, Sarah, and waiters, Roberto, Luis, Ogbemi (spelling??) have been absolutely FABULOUS during our 5 day stay at the Warwick Melrose Hotel. Roberto has gone above & beyond to accommodate me for my meals. Ogbemi was great to speak to, and give us recommendations of things to do around the city. Food is excellent and the service was wonderful. I highly recommend!!!

Four-star cuisine.

I have never experienced such great dining at a hotel. I played it safe and went with a NY strip. It was melt in your mouth tender and cooked to perfection. As good as anything I can find in Los Angeles.

Soup's Up!

By idpope2016 |

The restaurant staff is great, knowledgeable and efficient. I loved everything they offered from the breads (especially the jalapeno pepper and cheese bread) to the huge steak our friend ordered. I did not have room for dessert so I can not speak to that. My favorites were the daily soups and salads. The Seafood soup was amazing. The Ginger and Butternut Squash was good but too sweet for my taste. The salads are so beautiful and colorful and big and healthy they became my go to meals (entrees). My husband and new friends loved all they had as well. I loved the Shaved Winter Beet Salad and the Crisp Baby Iceberg Salad! I ordered some potatoes to accompany the salads and they added to the pleasure of a great meal - filling and tasty! YUM! Granted, my heaviest meals were exploring the unknown and with family meetings. I would eat here daily, if possible. Everything had flavor and not an abundance of salt. I had some dietary concerns for the time I was there and I was excited that my husband and I could enjoy great meals without any concerns.

Superb food and service.

Christmas day lunch buffet terrible!

By BecBeMe |

We were very disappointed in this very expensive Christmas day buffet. The food was cold and much of it tasteless. The prime rib and pork were tough and inedible. The buffet tables were out in the hallways of the hotel making it crowded and difficult to navigate. I expected much, much more for $60 per person. I will say though, that the staff was attentive and friendly and never let our drink glasses get empty. I emailed the restaurant a week ago and have not received any response.

srprisingly average breakfast

Breakfast here was surprisingly average. Service also middling. I expected better, given our experience at the hotel.
