Excellent! It is also aerially cool experience to visit this restaurant. The design is unique, the food is fantastic and the selection of drinks and wines is fantastic. Very good restaurant I can highly recommend if you like it special andbwith a certain caché. Will come again for sure.

Romantic and Outstanding Quality

By Gary G |

I have been to The Little Door several times and each time it has been outstanding. In a sea of 'nearly there' restaurants, this one stands out and hits the highest mark every time. The atmosphere is beautiful and we love the second room for a romantic and cozy table. The food is consistently interesting and of superior quality. Service ... top notch. I would come back again and again. This is a good one.

Perfect dinner

By Olivier B |

This restaurant is really a revelation - after entering the little door once, a fantastic, intimate and romantic world is disclosed that will enchant you in any sense. Service, food and atmosphere are top and definitely a place to remember and to recommend! Just awesome and will come back!

Romantic Night Out

By Art M |

Very romantic night out w my girlfriend. The lighting is low and they have a really great menu. This is a slow paced restaurant where you can sit and talk. The atmosphere is great, the roof is lined w vegetation and it looks really great. Definitely a place to go if you're in the dog house and need to get out! The price point was spot on, not as pricey as anticipated.

Great for special occasion

By AMKaiser |

5 stars - but also 4 rather than 3 dollar signs! The restaurant - chosen to celebrate 2 graduates - was wonderful in (almost*) every respect: the little wooden entry door, the cozy interior, the enormously friendly and proactive staff, and most importantly the specdeliculous (spectacular/delicious/fabulous) dishes. Going beyond the basket of fresh bread and olive oil/balsamic dip, a selection of cocktails offered a great start: my fav was the Seasonal Rhubarb, whereas the Moscow Mule had a bit too much Russian meddling ... The menu had a la carte items, but conveniently offered a 3 course chef’s selection menu: The Arugula/Avocado/Berries/Feta/Balsamic salad was very fresh and tasty, but also the Grilled Octopus was charming and very tender, and the Pistacchio/Goat Cheese Tart with Beet Trio did not pale either as all first courses succeeded in stimulating the appetite and set the field for the main courses. Grilled Seabass, a suuuuper-tender and almost melting Rack of Lamb, and Roasted Organic Chicken Breast were all wonderful and to the point. The Vegi Couscous offered a splendid juicy and tasty alternative. The desserts were delicious, the chocolate cream a bit heavy, the Vegan Sponge cake or the Molten Cake a bit more balanced. All brought to culmination with a delicious espresso. The place was great and easily accommodated a larger group, but would be a wonderful destination for a tete-a-tete. Timeless LA perfection!

By ALeamas |

Little Door has been an LA institution for 22 years and it is STILL going strong. The fact that there was not a spare table in the room is testament to its loyal following and talent to maintaining its culinary creativity. The dishes were French/Mediterranean cuisine at its finest and the chef clearly takes pride in every dish that leaves the kitchen. How rare to find that kind of quality and passion in this climate of pomp and materialistic ceremony. Little Door is a win-win for a romantic night out, a gathering of friends or - as I did - with family. The front-of-house team added to the experience, by transforming the evening into authentic Europe with their naturally charming welcome and no-fuss organisation of the best table. Love this place!! And what a meal!!

One of the worst dining experiences of my career as a chef!

By Dpjkona |

As much as I would like to write a review with some compassion for this establishment, I just cannot. While I LOVE that atmosphere, the food is passe, tired and should be revamped. Arrogant, self important operators that think they can do it better than others and decide to treat guests as though they have no other options to dine at in a city with more restaurants than lawyers... I decided to join my daughter, her girlfriend and her boyfriend for dinner at "Little Door". We were the first and only table at 6:00 for dinner. I was truly hoping for a quiet enjoyable dinner to get caught up with my daughter. Menus were dropped, a huge basket of bread was given and the waiter wanted to know if we wanted something to drink. I looked the wine list over, decided on a wine, told my waiter and he said he would check to see if the wine was available (if it wasn't, should it be on the wine list?). A few minutes later another waiter or wine manager came by to ask which wine I had asked for, when I told him he laughed and said the waiter didn't know which wine I had asked for. Okay, maybe he just didn't understand me. When our waiter did come with the wine he presented it to me and I nodded okay. He proceeded to open the wine and pour a tasting sample not to me, but to my daughters boyfriend instead! I was perplexed.... Why would he taste someone who did not choose the wine? We ordered our dinner, three appetizers and three entree's, one entree to be split between two. Appetizers came in a reasonable amount of time, we ate and drank and our waiter refilled everyone's glasses but mine. I didn't bother to order another bottle. When the entree's came the waiter brought three entrees, despite the request to split our overcooked rib eye ($54.00). When I asked why it wasn't split, our waiter said that the chef couldn't split entree's. I said, you mean he wouldn't? Our waiter then said that the chef refuses to split any entree's, period! If he had told me that in the first place I would have ordered differently. My entree was a major disappointment! I asked for the Rack of Lamb ($40.00) medium rare. It came medium well. There were three single lamb chops and a pile of canned artichoke hearts, pearl onions and sauteed carrots along with grilled polenta "diamonds". The worst part was the sauce, a Madera wine and mint jus reduction. It tasted like Ketchup, nothing more. My daughter ordered the duck duo, the confit leg was dry and chewy and the duck breast was inedible. You would think that with everything left on the plates when we were done eating that our waiter would have some clue that our meals were NOT to our liking. He didn't even ask us. Do we want dessert? No thank you! Here's your check, just like that. We finished our wine (or at least they did) and we left. On our way out no one said a word to us. Thank you for coming? $278.00 before tip and I would have paid it gladly if the meal was even half decent. Chef Peter serves tired, non creative food. He doesn't capture the essence of the region or consider the flavors of each ingredient to create harmonious dishes as the menu proclaims. I would not return even if they paid me to come back... When you consider all the great dining spots within walking distance of this establishment, I would suggest that you just keep walking....

Beautiful ambiance and amazing service. The food rates one of the best I've had this year! The sea bass was the best I've ever had!

Most Romantic Patio in LA

By drjlever |

It's no secret that it's hard to beat The Little Door for romantic atmosphere. It all starts when you find the little door itself then unfolds as you sit under the splendid large trees and dine surrounded by garden fragrances. I love the patio but point out that there are a few private rooms of varying size that make perfect settings for a small birthday or anniversary party.

Beautiful Dining Oasis

If you are looking for memorable intercontinental cuisine is a beautiful intimate setting, The Little Door in Los Angeles is the place. The ambiance transports you to another place and time. It is charming, romantic and delicious!

New favorite in LA!

By gregsf11 |

Everything on the menu looks so yummy, it's hard to decide what to get. We wound up making a meal just out of 4 appetizers, it was plenty, and everything was delicious. Good wine list, and fantastic ambiance too! And, it's great that in L.A., unlike SF, you don't have to reserve weeks in advance even for the nicest places.

the Mightly Little Door

just a great little bistro to have great food and sip some wonderful wine with top notch servers who are someof the best around town

Theatrical scenery!

By Aristea P |

You enter a theatrical scenery with fine lighting and decoration and an open roof which I realized it is open after a while. Great music, that elevates the mood and excellent and helpful service. To the previous I need to add the interesting wine list. I remember that everything we ordered was above average with my tagliata being very good. What I will never forget, since I am a devoted coconut lover, is the dessert. Definitely try the coconut cheesecake! It was superb. At "The little Door " is the combination of things that makes it worth visiting. If you ask if I had the best food ever there I would answer no but it is definitely worth visiting since you eat well, the service is great, the wine list interesting, the environment theatrical, the music elevating and if you are a coconut lover like me you can have the best coconut cheesecake ever! So, I vote yes for "The Little Door"!

Outrageously expensive

By French H |

The place is nicely lit and decorated, the food is not worth the price. You don't eat your finger with it. If you hang by the bar or take a date for a glass of wine get ready to pay $49 just for two glass of wine. And that is for their less expensive wine. Their champagne at glass which to me was more of sparkling wine that a French champagne was not even serve as cold as it have to be. Their sweet desert wine (Moscato) come as little portion as a tequila shot and it's very pricey. Other annoying thing is people smoke inside on that big line table and if you are by the bar and it smokers is not pleasant.

Great dinning experience

By SaugusM |

Our 2nd visit to this French-Morrocan restaurant, it didn't disappoint, excellent ambiance, fantastic service, super delicious appetizers, the Dungeness crab salad was off the charts delicious, followed by the main course of fillet and rib eye stakes, which were prepared and cooked to perfection.

Atmosphere That Is Hard To Find

By Paul_Har |

The Little Door restaurant is hidden behind a (little) door of plain wood that is identified only by its address. Once inside, you will enter a candle-lit "courtyard" that seems a world away from 3rd Street traffic. The Little Door's reputation for romance seemed justified by all the dating couples seated around us. There's little not to love; service is attentive, and the kitchen displayed its skill in everything we tasted. Filet mignon was both tender and flavorful, and the grilled sea bass and its accompaniments were fresh and delicately seasoned. Room for dessert? Consider the Strawberry Rhubarb Tart.

Romantic and delicious

By mmmmlol |

We had tried to get a reservation but Open Table showed as booked. We were staying nearby so we dropped in and they were able to accommodate us. Great, romantic ambience. Candles, foliage everywhere - very nice. The food is delicious also. Goat cheese and pistachio filo purse is excellent. flaky, creamy - tasty - highly recommend! Octopus appetizer also wonderful! Shared the lamb for a main course and was wonderful also. Dessert was lava cake and it wasn't particularly remarkable Overall a wonderful meal with nice service in a great place. Recommend!

Delightful food and wonderful service

By everythingceltic |

Ths was a wonderful evening with very attentive servers and delicious food and presentation. The indoor/outdoor feeing is wonderful, especially on a cool spring evening. We got there early and were seated immediately. There are two drawbacks, parking is a bear, but most folks from LA can make it happen. The second is that they do "squeeze" many people in, so the table size is small and you are very close to your neighbor. But both of these are overcome by the food and the staff.

Delightful

By CatherineTelayah |

This restaurant has charm, and magic for any dinner occasion. The ambience is beautiful and the food is exquisite as well as the staff.

Very expensive for what it is

By marceloabe2002 |

The place is nice, not the big deal as the pictures show. The service is excellent. The food is normal, the portions are small and the prices are very high. The price-quality ratio is poor.

Everything to Like But At Scandalously High Prices for What You Get

By Larry F |

Okay, so we were four adults and four kids. $450 plus tip out the door. Several had a fixed price menu with a Moroccan theme. Creative and very good. One settled for a nice salad. Two had kids pasta. Only one complaint: did I mention the price?

Tasty steak and coconut cheese cake

By Amal F |

Nice outlet. The ambiance is warm. Food menu is diverse. Tasty food and desserts. Quality steak. It's tender and juicy. Coconut cheese cake is a must try. Good customer service.

Another great eatery on 3rd WeHo.

By archipenko |

Lovely atmosphere and food - do be aware of the $45pp minimum if you are splitting the check across a few friends. Didn't catch us out - but can totally see how it could.

Great atmosphere, food was 7.5 out of 10.

By KPNP19 |

I really liked this place and will repeat it, but what I liked most was the environment. The outside setting is really nice yet private. Some of the food was excellent and some was average. Overall I recommend and will go back. Make sure to make reservations.

Great atmosphere, good food

By Travel Truths |

Was pleasantly surprised. A little hidden gem on a busy city street transports you to a romantic meeting spot. The food was delicious, I will definitely return on my next trip. The only reason it did not get 5 stars, was that it felt a little quick and forced. Food seemed to come out instantly, and I would have liked a little more time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

A Wonderful Dinner in a Beautiful Setting!

By Arlene S |

I can understand why people think this is one of the most romantic restaurants in the country. The food is outstanding and, although some of the tables are closely placed together, you don't feel as though you're part of someone else's conversation. I look forward to going back.

Cute and tasty restaurant

By tbears2017 |

We had a dinner reservation and arrived 15 minutes early so we had a drink at the small bar. Bartenders were friendly, quick and are drinks were good. The front half of the restaurant is busy and bustling and we assumed we would end up sitting there. However we were taken to the side room where it was quiet and uncrowded and perfect for a date night with your SO. Food was so good, the meze platter, steak with potatoes and couscous with merguez all amazing. I am not a dessert person but out cheesecake with passion fruit sauce was extremely delicious too. Our waitress was perfect, attentive but gave us our time. She was rather intuitive as well, knowing what dish and wine to recommend to us. Not a cheap place but quality food and service. Great place, we will go back.

Great lunch, food and service

By Jouko N |

This was the epic of our visit. We came here two times for lunch. Just great. Chocolade soufle was our favourite dessert! And our host Sandrine was polite and very nice. Greetings from Finland.

Is The Little Door is really a French Resturant

By ala907 |

The place is overall a good place but the back end rooms of this restaurant are not romantic as it has been mostly described. As we arrived in restaurant there was a lot of confusion from hostess to decide what to do or where to seat us. With an advance reservation she decided to fill her worth table as all the other tables were open as we arrived. This restaurant is good for two people parties as the tables are so tiny and four people’s plate hardly fit, not to mention if you have ordered anything extra there is absolutely no room to handle extra plate of food. Our waiter, at first appeared to be ok but soon we learned about his ego ad rudeness as we have asked some questions about the menu. He did not understand the concept of a fine dining and not to bring appetizer and starter at the same time as there was no way to fit all these plats on such a tiny table. This restaurant lack the service from bar as they would serve your martini in a margarita glass and warm and if you ask for olive you may be lucky to get one or two depends on the mode of the bar tender and professionalism of the server who bring it to your table. The food was good but the desert menu was not so good. I ordered a glass of cognac as after desert thinking that, If this restaurant is French as they claim, they would know in what type of glass cognac will be served but wrong. I would not pay such a high price for such a service for this restaurant. This restaurant is over rated for what they offer.

Charming place, micro menu, mildly accommodating

By eyecoin |

I ate here on a Wednesday right after valentines when the rush and would be less. Very cool almost speakeasy place with no sign and only a small wooden door hiding this place from view. Inside has a semi indoors and fully indoors feeling. It's much bigger than you realize from outside. The menu is very small. If you want something other than fish/seafood you have about 2 options. Food quality is fantastic for sure. The staff sat me 1 foot from another couple while the rest of the restaurant was empty. I asked to give us space and they insisted no other tables were available despite that when both of us finished the restaurant was still only at 60% capacity. It didn't really allow for private conversation.

Truly Romantic

By Brian P |

The Little Door lived up to its reputation as the most romantic restaurant in LA! My husband & I had a lovely dining experience here on a recent Friday evening. We entered the space which had outdoor seating in the front with a bar off to the side, then inside with a dining room, & we were seating in the back room area which was lovely. It felt like 3 different restaurants, but all with the same chic, elegant, cozy, romantic vibe. We had a very nice, capable, & professional waiter who helped make the experience perfect. The food came out perfectly as ordered and the drinks were delicious. The entire experience was PERFECT! I would HIGHLY recommend dining here & I would most certainly go again when I'm back in LA. It's a MUST!!!

Special Dinner at Little Door Frenchy Restaurant

We found this quaint French Restaurant and the food was simply DELICIOUS ! ! ! They have the most delicious desserts. Actually, everything was delicious.

Very Romantic, excellent food!

Wonderful Date night spot! Patio is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner and great people watching as the folks go by. Cute little light twinkle and the atmosphere is calm and serene. We ordered the Steak Frittes for dinner and it was excellent! The steak was tender and cooked perfectly. Fries were crisp and salty, everything was wonderful. Highly recommend..will be returning, Thank you for a fabulous evening!

Most wonderful experience! 5*

By Alice H |

Me and my new husband went here for dinner one evening of our honeymoon. It was the most amazing experience! Unfortunately we were a little late on arrival so we were seated at the bar to wait for another table. This was not an issue - the friendliest barman (a Dodgers fan!) served us, chatted to us and made us feel completely welcome. We were seated soon after and were mesmerised by the ambiance and atmosphere. It was incredibly romantic. I had a mezze starter and lamb for main. It was all absolutely delicious. My husband had the steak and said it was the best he'd ever had. We won't forget this place in a hurry. Thank you for looking after us :)

Good food, poor management

By Jonpan2014 |

We made a reservation for 8:30 pm on a Thursday and were told on arrival that our table would be ready in 10 minutes. We weren't seated until 9:05 pm. We ordered a bottle of wine from Adam, our server, who returned about 10 minutes later to inform us that they were out of that wine. We ordered another bottle with the same result: out of that wine. The food was good, especially the halibut, but the delayed seating, slow service, and failure to update their wine menu for the evening are major drawbacks. We won't return.

Great Food, Service and One of the Most Romantic Places in Town

By Greg B |

We have been here a few times. And we really should go more often. This has to be the most romantic setting of any restaurant in Los Angeles, without being pretentious or stuffy (there are several well know hotels and restaurants rated as romantic but too stuffy for my taste or make you feel like they are doing you a favor letting you eat there). For those that have not been there, the restaurant has no sign (but its next to their brasserie, The Little Next Door, which is easy to spot). There is just a door to enter, and you enter the patio/garden. You feel you just entered the secret garden. Reservations were easy to get (via open table for a Friday night booked only a few days before), which in my view is a big plus these days. Reception was pleasant, welcoming, attentive and quickly took us to our seats (albeit our reservation was on the early side at 7pm. The place quickly filled up by 8). We have sat in the patio ( which is beautiful with plants and twinkling lights) but opted for inside this time as my wife felt it was a little cool out that night. Inside is kind of like it was an old house converted to a restaurant which makes it feel homey as well as elegant at the same time but not stuffy as the inside is open to the patio making it feel like an extension of the patio (there is another room farther in the back which may be more stuffy but I have not sat there). The food was superb. We ordered off the three course price fixe menu (They have two kinds with a higher and lower price and different selections). I had the beet salad to start and then the lamb chops and my wife had the chicken with mushrooms (I forget which appetizer she had). The waiter was kind enough to substitute a dessert I preferred which was not among the items on the price fixe menu..for no additional charge. Its little things like this that really make a difference between, in my view, a classy restaurant and one that acts more like an airline charging for every nickel and dime. All items were superb and cooked just right. Moreover the service was perfect and what I expect from a fine dining restaurant. The waiter was spot on with descriptions, suggestions, and staying on top of our needs. And as I mentioned, accommodating, as well as friendly and clearly was there to "serve us"...which is what a restaurant is all about in my view (great food has to be a given for any fine dinning restaurant). Prices are modest, by LA standards, with most entrees in the $35-45 range (they have their menu on line). The three course menus were $55 and $65. My only complaint is they have a 3% ( I think it was 3%) surcharge for ..well sustainable living wage I think they called it. I have a big pet peeve about these charges, which are only charged by the high end restaurants..who for their prices you think would pay sustainable wages or health care regardless, given how much they charge for the meals. You don't see a local diner or more modest restaurant adding these charges. Normally, as a matter of principal, I immediately avoid going to any restaurant that has this charge. I had either forgotten about it or did not see it anywhere on their website. That said, despite my policy, I would have gone there anyway and I will go there again, despite how it irks me. The place is just too good overall to avoid (ok, I am a hypocrite) In fact, as we were leaving, my wife and I said to each other, we have to come back more often, and not just for special occasions as we did this time and in the past.

Fabulous evening

By Randyhol |

Party of 3 did dinner here on a Wednesday. A great meal. Easy and reasonably priced valet parking. Mixologist Michael started the evening with perfect drinks. Floor manager Josh and wine steward Adam were outstanding. Two vegetarians in our party, and the menu had lots of excellent choices. Very diverse, well curated and fairly priced wine list. Table service was flawless. Food start to finish was superb. Loved the ambiance as well. Only quibble, background music could be dialed back a bit. We most definitely will return.

Very lovely place!

Had dinner at the restaurant, the staff were courteous, the food were delicious and the atmosphere was on point! Enjoyed our time there. Their Moscow Mule was on point!

Went for dinner as a walk in. Good solid french food together with good service and friendly staff. Whats not to like.

Crowded Spot - Pleasant Service - Slow Kitchen

By John K |

Went on a Friday night around 9 p.m., and The Little Door was elbow-bumping at the bar - somebody breathing down your neck - wiggle sideways past tables - bustling. The indoor/outdoor space is stylized-shabby, dimly lit, and were it not so busy, could be considered romantic. Our servers were very pleasant, and these gentlemen we enjoyed, despite the fact that we had very long waits for food. Huge lapses between courses dulled us to the point of wanting to leave before our dessert arrived. Our meal was fine, just that, a goat cheese tart tasted of goat cheese, meat was cooked to reasonable temperatures, and sides were flavorful. But the wait - unacceptable. So there you have it - lots of people - nice service - and a kitchen no-doubt overwhelmed and understaffed when The Little Door entertains A Big Crowd. I'd try it again - early in the evening - on a week night.

Romantic restaurant, Delicious Food.

By World Traveler L. A |

This is a beautiful French restaurant with a Mediterranean twist. I really enjoyed the couscous and lamb rack paired with a Riesling Alsace wine. The goat cheese and pistachio tart appetizer was served warm and had a soft texture, all in all it was exquisitely delicious. I loved very much the chocolate molten cake, the best ever.

Lovely Little Door

By Bnizzle76 |

It’s an unbelievable lovely gem hidden behind a little door...It’s truly the most beautiful restaurant in LA. The courtyard, fountain, and tree canopy of twinkling lights are absolutely stunning. The food and service were outstanding! I had the $65 prix fixe with the lamb chops- yummy. My son said the chicken was the “best ever!” The Little Door is gorgeous and delicious!

Looking for a romantic experience

By Isunwin |

I was looking for a new romantic restaurant to have dinner with my husband. I'd seen pictures online of this restaurant and it looked nice. We arrived promptly on time for our reservation and were seated promptly. From the time I walked in to the time we left, I was drawn to the ambiance; dark, candlelight, New Age music, twilight lighting. The service was nice, but unfortunately the food wasn't anything special. My husband had the sea bass and I requested a dish that had to be altered to accommodate my vegetarian diet. I'm not sure we would go back to this restaurant, but I'm glad we tried it.

Another outstanding dinner at The Little Door

By BigJim67 |

The Little Door has quickly become one of our very favorites and last night we enjoyed yet another lovely dining experience at this fun French Mediterranean restaurant. Tasty and ample-sized salads, delicious entrees—we both had the rack of lamb—and indulgent desserts made for a wonderful meal! The ambience is beautiful, especially if you’re in the garden room, and the service is the best. Our two favorite waiters at this little gem are both named Olivier; ask for them, either one of them will make you glad you did. The Little Door has been around for over 20 years and, with its focus on creating wonderful dining experiences for its guests, it’s likely to be around for many more to come. And that’s a very good thing!

Good mix of ambiance and food

By AMO |

The noise level here allows for a normal conversation, food is a great mix and worth the experience, bartender quite good, waiter was annoying jumping into conversation. Will try again hopefully they will train waiters to hold the panache needed in such a place.

Beautiful & tasty

By pjy78 |

Big note - do not get confused with the Little Door and the Little Next Door. We went into the wrong restaurant. The Little Door is charming and homey. It was packed on a Saturday night. The tables are very close to each other (hard to get in and out) and no private conversations to have. The meal was tasty. Not too salty which I appreciate. Go check it out!

Romantic

By nymark2015 |

An exceptionally beautiful interior, which incorporates the outdoors as well. The food was very good. Our lamb tagine with couscous was one of the best rendition of this dish I've ever eaten. Nice wine list, nice variety of southern Mediterranean and north African specialties. A great choice for a romantic dinner.

Too noisy, too pricey and the food too average

By jim e |

This seems more of a Moroccan than French restaurant. They like to play loud disco type music during dinner. this caused the folks at the tables beside us and behind us to talk very loudly and sometimes shout across their table. the service was very good, everyone hustled but they could not compensate for the mediocre food which was under flavored and not creative in any sense.

Great Atmosphere behind that Little Door!

By Penelopewms |

Four do us went for dinner during the week. As soon as you open the door your ensconced by the charming open patio/ dining area. The bar sits off to the side with a great view of everything. There was an artist that evening working on a painting and watching him was great entertainment. I ordered two appetizers which could have served two or as an entree...portions a bit too generous. The smoked fish appetizer was enough for all four of us as it was very rich. I had the duck foie gras with duck egg which was ok followed by the grilled octopus which I was hoping would have had a bit more crunch. One daughter ordered the vegetable couscous which was huge (we took that home) and my other daughter ordered the chicken which was very nice. Service was excellent, not rushed but well paced. With so many restaurants in LA I'm not sure I'd return.

Delicious food in a lovely setting

By ReenyL |

I really enjoyed this wonderful restaurant, the food, atmosphere and service was fantastic. The one thing is that I requested a patio table (covered area with pretty sparkly lights everywhere), they were willing to accommodate us, but only on the closest table to where the servers are walking past constantly/ anyone at the bar is hovering around, I asked for another table there and we were directed instead to the more indoor part of the restaurant which was a shame. Other than that our server Brigitte was very friendly and informative answering our questions and also giving us time to make our decisions. I started out with the burrata, pear and prosciutto appetizer which was incredible, followed by the lamb chops which were cooked perfectly and shared the coconut cheesecake which was brought out with a happy birthday message and a candle for my birthday which was very appreciated. Along with dessert we were also brought some Moroccan mint tea in a lovely traditional silver tea pot, the tea was sweetened, but delicious. We also had a Manhattan and a margarita which were perfectly mixed. Overall this is a lovely place for a special occasion and I would definitely eat here again.

An excellent experience, to renew

By Louis Christian C |

Very friendly place, quiet , decor mixing baroque and a little romantic, attentive staff, very varied and excellent cuisine. Various and tasty starters. Excellent and generous main dishes An experience to repeat.

Liked it all

By Robert W |

Intriguing, but simple decor. I can see why it is considered one of the best romantic restaurants in L.A., even though we were there with friends. The service was attentive without being annoying. The food was first rate from the starters through the desert. Busy, but noise level low enough to hold a good conversation. All that said, I still can’t give it 5 stars. Hard to pinpoint exactly why, but it lacked a bit of the wow factor that would push the rating higher. Don’t get me wrong, still worth the dining experience. Go and enjoy.

Outstanding in every way

By jisabr |

Excellent menu with varied choices, all our meals were outstanding. Service was friendly and appropriate, with welcome suggestions. Ambiance was eclectic, with trees and other unusual touches. We've enjoyed every visit here.

Most romantic place to celebrate

By Dorothy Y |

We decided to celebrate my birthday here, was posted as French cuisine, unfortunately it's Moroccan dishes, server was nice & friendly, indeed it's a very romantic place to dine. Good Wine selections and they also offered 3 course set menus with suggested wine pairing. We will definitely come back

Still Standing After All These Years

By Rorole2 |

The food is good, but not exceptional. The appetizers were good. The soups are always tasty. The lamb was wonderful, but the chicken not memorable. The French "country inn" atmosphere is still inviting. It makes up for the over-priced menu. I found the wine selection to be average. I loved The Little Door years ago. I used to go there once a week. Now, I found the experience enjoyable, but not worth returning often. If you keep your expectations average, you'll have a lovely night.

Excellent Restaurant if you like Fun Setting & Great Food!

By NomadicNina |

Outdoor/indoor rustic charm, delectable menu (halibut to die for, peach ginger cheese cake making me salivate as I type!, arugula peach summer salad!), perfect restaurant for scrumptious dinner out in Beverely Hills/LA area. Only gripe: no easy parking so restaurant should cover $9 valet fee after expensive dining in their restaurant.

Don't go on a rainy night.

It does rain in California and this place doesn't have many dry tables. The night we were there the back dining room was flooded and the front of the house was dripping. I am sure it can be quite lovely on a beautiful evening. Lots of ingredients in every dish. Big portions to share. Nice wine list but pricey.

Superb

By foileyer1 |

Super food in a enchanting location. We had a cheese platter to start, which is a little unusual, but it was really good. Washed down with a Spainish Bodegas. For mains one chicken dish and two rack of lamb. All the dishes were excellent. Finished off with a creme brûlée. Service was first class and the staff in general were most pleasant. Probably one of the best dinners that I have ever experienced.

I would have given a 4 except for 1 thing

By LazyPoint |

Ok this is a nice restaurant. LA/NYC priced about average. Good wine list and the food was very good, the service was very good as well. And my wife and I would probably go back, especially with a group the next time we are in LA. But. I got the distinct sense that because of our age (50) we were shunted to the second room, which is slightly off the main room. Ok so were well dressed and that might have put them off a bit. Ok a little snarky there as most of the people were well dressed except for a few genuine bearded t-shirted (dress t-shirt admittedly) types and their mostly non-bearded dates. Because we were on vacation we did not push the issue. Perhaps we were wrong but still wonder why a few tables remained open in the 80 or 90 minutes we were there. Anyone else?

LA favorite!

By Joe M |

One of my favorite places in LA. The ambiance, the food, and usually the service are great here. Definitely sit in the garden and come at dusk if possible while its still a bit light outside. It’s a great place for a date or a group of good friends. Service is hit or miss, usually its good but this last trip, our server seemed a bit non-interested in serving us.

Fantastic Ambiance with Excellent Wine List

By Larry W |

Came here for a friendly business dinner during the L.A. auto show. The intimate and romantic atmosphere attracted a number of couples (about half of which were older men with younger dates). Service was good; the menu interesting, and the wine list extensive. My favorite menu items were the "crispy" polenta and the rhubarb-strawberry pie.

Romantic beautiful restaurant

By Anomyouss |

This little gem is one of my new fav spots in LA. I went with my partner and we had the best dinner. Great ambience and the food was also perfect. We had the grilled octopus and feta/beetroot salad for starter and it was perfect. For our mains we had the steak and chicken breast which was also faultless. To end the night we tried the coconut cheesecake which was perfect. The staff where very lovely and I can't wait to return next time I am in LA. Definitely check this restaurant out next time you are in LA.

Beautiful restaurant patio

By Romance2016 |

We went on a beautiful Saturday evening and sat on one of the prettiest patios. We did Dine LA. The presentation, the food, the service all were outstanding. The portions were generous. The vegetables tasted and looked like they came from the Farmer's Market. It was our first time there and we were not disappointed.

Fabulous Anniversary spot

By bigmac1025 |

husband and I just celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary and he chose this fabulous place. What a great atmosphere! So romantic once the sun goes down if you're in the patio. Inside the restaurant is cozy from the get go. The food was very good and I liked that the menu is minimal, not a lot of clutter. OH!!! You have to try the coconut cheesecake! Holy Cheesecake!!! The octopus salad was like biting into butter! So fresh and cooked to perfection. A must try! We will be going back again for sure, but next time, just date night. They have a great bar and the background music is different, but so soothing and at the same time, upbeat. Experience this place, definitely! I had no clue where we were going, as this place is sort of secret and has the cutest little door entry!

One of the best restaurant

By Alix2404 |

One of the best restaurant we have had. Everything from the ambiance, to service ( the french waiter was absolutely the best and has a real passion for service ( for once!)) to the very high quality food. We will defintely recommend it and come back! Thank you for the great experience!

Romance

Perfect place for a romantic dinner. The atmosphere is wonderful. Lots of open spaces with candles on the tables, very romantic. The staff is helpful and very attentive. We had Mezze, assorted mediterranean appetizers and Couscous Royale, just amazing flavors! I recommend !

Another lovely night at The Little Door

By BigJim67 |

For starters, you really need to know where you’re going because otherwise you’d drive right by this hidden little gem with its completely unsuspecting entrance. Once inside, you’ll be quickly taken aback by the decor. Although the restaurant boasts numerous attractive small rooms for dining, its immediate entrance puts you in a very romantic garden setting. My wife and I are very partial to the Chef’s prix fixe menu and enjoyed it again last night. For starters, my wife had the wild arugula salad with avocado, feta cheese, strawberries, sliced almonds and a balsamic reduction. I had the pistachio goat cheese tart with a trio of the most delicious and colorful beets. For entrees, we heartily enjoyed pine nut & mustard crusted rack of lamb. It was so tasty, we didn’t hesitate to pick up the bones and make sure we enjoyed every tiny bite. For dessert, we chose the chocolate pot de creme and coconut cheesecake. And finished off our evening with Moroccan mint tea. What a meal! Did I mention the service? Every bit as good as the food and the ambience! Another recommendation: there are two waiters named Olivier and each makes you feel like they built the restaurant just for you! The Little Door...a not-so-little gem!!!

A special place in my heart

By Andrea P |

Anh Thu was the best! She worked with me to plan my wedding from Detroit. She was extremely pleasant and patient the entire time and her support team the day of was a reflection of her. They were all GREAT! My guest and I loved the atmosphere, food and cute staff (hehe). We had a great time...I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Fabulous setting with Moroccan, French and Persian influenced food....Tasty selections and nice presentation. The real draw though is the setting!

What a wonderful Restaurant!

By clacdancer |

Behind the large doors is a beautiful charming restaurant. It is magical with the trees and lights. The service was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing. Very interesting menu. We had several items to try. This is a special dining place. Not your average restaurant. I would recommend this place for that special evening or for a great dinner.

Culinary Gem

The Little Door restaurant in Los Angeles, near Beverly Hills is a culinary gem. The atmosphere is wonderful. The noise level was low. The cocktails were very good. The menu is extensive and offers selections everyone would enjoy. A wonderful place for couples.

One of My Favorite Restaurants Ever

By beachinchick |

I fell in love with this restaurant about 20 years ago and have been going there ever since. Every dining experience here had been a special one. Since it is a little pricey I only go on special occasions, but it is at the top of my list. The ambiance is unique with a beautiful indoor/outdoor patio and tall candelabras and the inside portion of the restaurant is very beautiful as well. They will open any bottle of wine no matter how expensive to order by the glass. Every time I have eaten here the food has been an excellent quality and cooked to perfection. The staff has always been friendly, but not overly attentive. They have different specials every night. The last time I was there my husband took me there for my birthday. I had a rib eye steak and he had elk and they both were delicious. Even though a rib eye is not anything unique, they make it unique by the way it is prepared and the special sauces and side dishes it is served with.

Look for the Little Door, ‘cause there ain’t a sign!

By Peter S |

This French Moroccan gem is worth the effort to find. Romantic atmosphere, impeccable service and exquisite food. We tried the scallops and the chicken; both wonderful. Even the olive oil to dip the bread has been spiced up with a vinaigrette, a perfect little touch Enjoy!

Truly exceptional food in a magical setting...

By ScottsdaleFoody2008 |

Have dined here several times and it never fails to exceed our expectations. This is not a place to visit unless you have a lot of time. The service is very European: multiple courses served at a slow pace, which is great because you'll want to savor every morsel. The cuisine here is a bit of Morocco meets France. The combinations are well thought out and divinely delicious. There are lots of options for vegetarians and vegans as well as hard-core carnivores. Now to the ambiance: this is probably one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever visited. While nearly impossible to find (you really need to know where you're going, there's a reason it's call "The Little Door"), once you cross the threshold you're surrounded by thousands of tiny lights and sectioned off areas with an open air feel (there's no ceiling, just umbrellas). Can't wait to visit sometime for a romantic occasion. I understand there have been many marriage proposals here and it's easy to understand why. It's expensive, but well worth every penny. Look forward to returning the next time in the L.A. area.

Look for the Secret Passage

By Sandra M |

My husband and I had an absolute delightful experience at "The Little Door". During the early dining hours, the place is a romantic setting for those couples who like to talk with one another. In other words, leave the kids at home with a babysitter. By the time we were finished with our great meal, the place was getting revved up for the more spirited crowd. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all outstanding. The only caveats I have are: the place is a bit hard to find as there is no real signage, just look for the address and open the mysterious brown wooded doors that lead you into an intrigueing passage. Next, if you are a bit seasoned like ourselves, remember to use your Smart Phone flashlight or bring some other lighting devices to see the menu. Bon Appetite.

One of the most romantic places to eat in LA

By Jack V |

As you walk through the wooden door entrance be prepared to be wowed and surprised by the space. There is a big table and the bar on your left as you enter then a fairly large patio to the right with a ceiling that rolls back so you can enjoy the mostly incredible weather in LA. The food is really great too. Try the scallops, rack of Lamb and Mezze platter filled with many Mediterranean appetizers. In fact, this is the perfect place to just pull up a seat at the quaint bar and order glasses of wine with the Mezze platter but please don’t go too often and take my bar stool. The service is good to great and the eclectic music completes the experience. You may fall in love here and never want to leave. Enjoy.

Very novel decorating, like eating in outside in the woods

By Bob N |

Really novel and interesting decorations. The food was quite good as was our service. A number of reviews called it "romantic". I would not call it romantic, with tables 12" away from each other. But, I would recommend trying it.

If you can't close the deal here, you never will.

By Philip M |

When I was single, this was my favorite third date place. Hard to beat the atmosphere. You could say it's romantic, but that sounds cliche'd to me. There is just an authentic, non contrived vibe here that is only enhanced by the caliber of the menu and wine list. Wine list is perfect and this is the rare venue that works equally as well for a client meal or even an intimate gathering among larger groups.

Romantic Mediterranean Hideaway

By Rio |

You'll feel like you've escaped to Morocco or someplace exotic along the Mediterranean Sea. The Little Door blends these flavors and more in a romantic outdoor setting where you'll feel far away from the hustle & bustle of the city. Many star sightings there. Impressive place for a date.

Great Mediterranean Food

By Bigal1953 |

This came up under a search for French Food. Definitely not a classic French Bistro but great food. My wife had the seven vegetables and I had the pappardelle. Both were excellent. They serve large portions so they supplied lunch as well as dinner. The food is something that most people would not get a home so that made the experience even better. It has a lovely atmosphere with an out door patio. It is very popular so make reservations. We would definitely return.

Never disappoints!

By Morey C |

My family and I have been dining at the Little Door since 1998 and it is a wonder to us! The food is always excellent and so is the service. No attitude just brilliant.

Unique restaurant

By TomWV12 |

Very nice restaurant that is inside but has an open ceiling with a tree growing in it. Great selection of entrees including vegetarian.

DISAPPOINTED

By meena452 |

We went for dinner and had made reservations. Restaurant was very busy for DineLA . We were not ordering through the DineLA menu. Service took for ever. Brussel Sprouts were raw and food quality was not upto par. For the price range expected better service and better food.

yummy and hospitable

By Huy D |

We walked in late Sunday without reservation. Hostess was welcoming and polite. Our wait staff was even more nice. The ambience of this place is warming. Starting with the large wooden doors upon entering to lights hanging from trees inside. Food wise, I highly recommend the "Mezze Royale" for starters. The rib eye steak done medium simply was impeccable. By far my favorite upscale restaurant in L.A. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great ambiance, good but not imaginative food

By 504 |

The food was pretty basic - very good, but not interesting. The 5-star rating is mostly for the ambience. It's a very pretty, charming place but only if you eat outdoors. We were first shown to a table indoors, at the back of the restaurant, and it was a bit gloomy. SO make sure you ask to sit in the garden. The food was well prepared from very fresh ingredients, but, as I said, was kind of simple. The portions were huge, you can easily share.

Romantic

By rbun |

We booked this restaurant with our Family. Considering the price I think the quality is slightly higher than average. I expected more. My wife and I choose the French Moroccan menu, very nice, great taste, but can be better. It's a romantic place to dine.

Now I understand why this place is so popular: It's great!

By timothyg |

Great food, terrific service, and nice ambience: Everything you want in a restaurant. The Little Door is not far from my home and it has been popular for 22 years; I'm such a snob, I figure if an established restaurant is popular, it may be coasting on its reputation. Not the case here. The place serves imaginative food, with a slight Moroccan-Mediterranean influence, nicely presented. The mood is nice and relaxed and the staff are top-notch. I had grilled octopus and salmon; my dinner companion had burrata and peaches, plus mussels. Our waiter, Olivier, may be the best waiter in L.A. He was friendly and fun. Big bonus: It's quiet enough to hold conversations! I don't know why, but many popular restaurants are noisy.

Romantic , Atmospheric a world away from Beverly Hills

By HamishReading |

There is very little to add to what has been written - a hidden gem serving French middle eastern inspired food in surroundings that take you to a different continent - Food was varied and astounding, Service was impeccable, surroundings romantic and relaxed and really good value for money - all in the centre of Beverly Hills - who would believe it

I love LA

By truffles444 |

Great meal. Shawn was our sever very attentive. We were about to take a vacation to Mexico and asked what are first rate tequila were and gave us some suggestions. As for the food and drink the lamb and the salmon were cooked perfectly

Not worth the price

By Brad M |

Unique restaurant with beautiful Ambience and decor. Very good service by waiting staff. Food was very small portions and overcooked, very disappointing in flavor and completely overpriced!

Travel to The Mediterranean without taking a plane! A truly Mediterranean dream

By JUAN Sanchez |

The place is outstanding! If you are looking for a place that truly takes you away, this is your Restaurant. This is the best full Mediterranean experience in LA. I was born in The Med and it truly made me feel back home for a moment. I actually took my wife for dinner. We order a cheese plater and the Lamb and Duck. It was really tasty! Loved the Confi sauce! Service is also good and desserts (although a bit expensive) are amazing. Try the coconut + mango cheese cake. My recommendation. Go for a romantic dinner. Take your time relax and once you pass the door, Forget about tour curent Life and tell yourself your are on Holidays because you will feel that way ;) This really feels like a Mediterranean Dream!

Annual Holiday Dinner

By Carla C |

I had a holiday dinner with a friend at the Little Door. Parking is a challenge in West Hollywood. So grateful for Valet. I got in early so I hang around at the bar while waiting for my friend. The staff were very friendly. The room filled up pretty quickly with repeat customers who got warm greetings and hugs from the staff. The food was really good. They were pricey but came in generous servings. It’s hard to think of this as the most romantic restaurant because of the noise level- the music and conversations. But it could just have been because people who came in were full of the holiday spirit. But the way the tables were arranged /set up, it’s not hard to imagine that a romantic dinner is a possibility.

Overall you have to rate of the food

By Edward W |

Made the reservation for four to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were very excited to try this really cool restaurant in LA. We were visiting and staying at the Hotel Del Air. The atmosphere is really great! We loved the old but cool feeling as we sat in the patio (recommend it). People watching was great as well but the food just didn't get us over the finish line. They did their best to make up for it and gave us one n/c plate (my steak was really poo and over done). So overall I'd still recommend due to the atmosphere and people but don't make it you night to expect great food.

Excellent food

By Lucie M |

This was a specific selection from my husband for our anniversary in LA after lots of time spent on the internet. We were seated in a quiet back room and found it perfect for our special night. We started with the seafood Provençal and the beet and goat cheese salads as appetizers. As for mains, I selected duck two ways (one of my favourite dishes) while my husband went with steak. Although the food was delicious, we were disappointed that we were not served a dessert for our anniversary and found the service just ok. It was a special night for us and honestly, the night before felt more special.

Wonderful experience

By travellingzimbo |

A friend suggested The Little Door , a restaurant I've passed many times but never been too, and so I decided to make it happen. We had friends visiting from London celebrating a birthday. The food was fantastic, table service impeccable, ambiance unmatched. My only complaint is the hostess. We stood around in no mans land waiting to be seated - which wasn't a great first impression. I made the reservation and in the requests / comments section mentioned that we had visitors from London celebrating a birthday - but obviously that message wasn't shared with the restaurant because there was no acknowledgement of that. But I'm not going to let that spoil our experience!! I'll definitely go back for more.

Wonderful restaurant in LA

By Jay D |

Gorgeous inside. Great food and wine list, but expensive. 2 appetizers, 4 entrees, 8 drinks, tea cost about $210 a couple after tip. Veggie couscous and pasta were both delicious, as was the Mediterranean meze appetizer. But beware, one of the things that looks like falafel in the app has meat!

Gorgeous evening

By Alison B |

Chose TA to find a perfect venue to celebrate my husbands birthday while holidaying in LA. We were not disappointed! The set up is quite enchanting, beautiful fairy lights and a funky bar set up, with cool jazzy tunes playing (but not blasting) in the background. Our food was perfect, great wine and service too. It was tipped off by mint tea served just before we had to tear ourselves away...😌

Worth the outing

By Kecia C |

Recently had dinner here, hadn't been in some time. I forgot how pretty this restaurant is. The staff and service was impeccable and the food great. I had a sea bass with crab that was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place for a business dinner, date. It gets very busy so reservations are a must and don't count on meeting at the bar for drinks before dinner. The bar is very small.

happening scene

By dougdem |

Very happening scene and yet have spaces to be relatively intimate, very good food, fine service duo of duck fois gras, which I thought was a brilliant dish with the pear, toast, and the two different fois. I'm sure it wasn't a healthy selection, but it was sure tasty. Rich Moroccan colors and sophisticated French flair is definitely not missing from an ambiance standpoint

Very good food, pricey

By Yoram_and_Laurie |

We sat in the courtyard which is visually charming. Food ans service were very good. Problem was flies and mosquitos. At this price point there need to be more mitigation against mosquitos and flies. This is the reason for 4 rather than 5 stars.

My favorite place in LA

By reyledda |

I have been going to this restaurant for almost 20 years. The food, ambiance, and service has remained stellar. I have taken friends and family here, and they have all been very impressed. The decor is unpretentious - intimate lighting, white linens, and quiet nooks to enjoy your special dinner. The wine and cocktail selection is very good. I always opt for a Moroccan inspired lamb dish for my entree. On my last visit, we both opted for the prix fixe menu ($65 for an appetizer, entree, and dessert). It was excellent, as expected. I even got a birthday candle on my dessert. The service is restrained and unhurried. My only suggestion is that they train their busboys to recognize the subtle signals of fine dining so that they know if someone is still working thru their dinner or done. But otherwise, a lovely hidden jewel in LA that I hope is around for a long time.

Lovely Restaurant!

By Erin S |

This is such a quaint restaurant. Beautifly decorated with a french and moroccan feel to it. We sat at the bar first and the staff was very friendly. They have a tap for the wines and have a specialty coctail list . I drank a cabernet that was selected by the bar tender and it was deliclous! When we sat down to dinner the wait staff was very attentive. My water glass was never empty! My husband and I both got steaks and they were AMAZING! They were cooked to perfection. Even the sides that came with it were deliclous! Over all we had a great expierence at this restaurant and I would highly recommend it!

Over the top romantic- but the food keeps up to the atmosphere

By Pepper |

When I first walked in I thought this place is so romantic, the food can't possibly be seriously good. But I was wrong. The salads were perfect, the lamb was buttery, and the hot lava desert was just right. My friends sea bass was superb, We had a serious waiter and he steered us to cocktails that suited us ( mine was some kind of fruity drink I forget the name but I really liked it)/ Its a big restaurant and some rooms are cuter than others but how can I complain when there are "roses" hanging everywhere. We had good service and avery good time.

Fantastic ambience, service, and food

By StevesGoingPlaces |

What an enchanting place! We found it on TripAdvisor, and it was better than we had hoped for. A beautiful, lush indoor patio setting, great energy, excellent waiter and service. We loved the selection of food; from the starters, to the main courses, to dessert. All was delicious. I hope to return on a future trip. This is a place to remember.

Great food, not the best service

By htawil1 |

Above all, the food and atmosphere were quite good. The only thing is, I didn't really enjoy the lack of attention we received. The waitress didn't seem as attentive as our bus boy. She paid much more attention to everyone else and this is one of my biggest pet peeves. I had to have someone call her over in order for her to take our order and when she came over, she didn't even ask "what can I help you with?" She just stared at us waiting for us to know what we wanted. Pretty unacceptable, and next time I pay for $100 dinner I expect there to be a little more consideration. Thanks.

Delicious Cuisine

By rjnap1 |

This is one of the best restaurants I have been to in Los Angeles. It is moderately priced, but the food you get is well worth it. Perfect spot for a night out.

SO good!

By ladynfamous |

This French gem has a cool vibe not too hip or trendy, yet a balance of modern and French traditional. Our steaks meals, charcuterie board, and deserts were devine. The steaks and side veggies were cooked perfectly. The charcuterie board included mustard, which I appreciate. Served with fresh bread. The pot de crème topped with a layer if caramel was so real.... it was everything. It is a bit pricey, but I feel the quality matched the price.

Nice ambience!

By El Panzon |

The ambience was very nice, you feel transported to a small village somewhere in the Mediterranean. The service was a little slow, well COVID times, I guess. The menu was nice, not too big. The starters were great, burrata and mussels. The mussels were simply delicious. For main course I had the lamb, which was good, but the presentation left to desire, too big, and the cuts did not look good, however the taste, texture and cooking were very nice. Prices were very reasonable, and the menu had lots of options for wine by the glass. Desserts were nice too. Will return.

Wedding Dinner...

By DSBCheshire |

We are from the UK and got married in LA, this venue was recommended by the wedding chapel...what a fantastic experience we had, on arrival still in wedding attire we were treated really special, and seated in a cosy part of the restaurant. The restaurant itself has a wonderful relaxed romantic environment, there is no traditional roof, its a covering of trees and vines with lights which is amazing.... After being quickly seated we were treated to some wedding drinks and we chose the chef selection set menu, the food was cooked to perfection, the mains couscous was particularly impressive, all faultless.... Definitely worth visiting if in LA for sure...and big thanks to everyone for making our night 'special'.

This place is excellent

By Scott B |

Wow. When we asked for a recommendation, we were told we had to visit The Little Door. They were right, this place is something special. What a great spot to enjoy a night out. The drinks were amazing, I had the Grandfather, and ordered a second it was so good. The food was excellent. Great options for all of us at the table, and we certainly left full. At our table, we had the salmon, lamb, filet and risotto. Each entree was amazing. We were constantly looking around inside as the decor was very cool. The place filled up fast, and it was obvious why. We had a great time going here. Thank you to Shawn our waiter. He was fun to talk with, and treated us right the entire night. We will go here again when we come back to town. Well worth it.

Very romantic

By Allan Stewart |

I went with friends and family for wedding anniversary dinner. It was excellent. Started with seared fois gras banned in some restaurants. Steak beautiful and ambiance is like fairy land. We had a very beautiful waitress, Tess. However it's normal for service for parties of 6 to be charged 20%. That amounted to $ 119. I think that is excessive. We were very easy to serve and if I had been in London I would have probably tipped $80. But hey your in LA. Might go back. Not sure.

Great for Dates

By SoCalHapaGirl |

If you want a nice romantic ambiance, this is a great place for you. It definitely a couples place, not a place you would go to hang out with the boys. The servers were very friendly and the food was good. Make sure you know the address, you could easily miss this place.

good food.nice place.hidden treasure.

"Amazing Southern French Hospitality"

By Travel All Destiny Tours, LLC |

When I'm in the need of feeling at home in France, La petite porte is where I go! The enjoyment of knowing whatever I order will always pleases my palette! Yet most of all is the atmosphere of this oasis in the middle of Los Angeles, which makes me feel like I'm home on the French Riviera!

Cute Restuarant!

By Susan F |

I visited on a Friday night with my daughter. We arrived at 7 for a 7:30 reservation( a bit early) It was lovely outside and we asked to be seated on the patio. The hostess directed us to a cramped table in the corner.. We asked about the multiple open tables on the patio ( not cramped) she told us they were for "reservations for 4" . We decided to leave and then the hostess said "0h we just had a cancellation..." And seated us on patio. In the next hour we noticed many of the tables being seated with two .. Hmmm. Don't know what her motive was but it was irritating. Food was good, dessert delicious and service was great by our waiter and others but not the hostess.

Nice romantic spot

By lb33wonka |

Great new place we found. Food and the service were great. The menu isn’t huge but has something for all. The oysters are a must and try the Habanero sauce on them.

What a romantic experience!

By Hayley S |

What a perfect date night! If you aren't paying attention, you will walk right past the entrance to The Little Door. Once inside, you are transported to a gorgeous Mediterranean style court yard. Lights twinkle above your head as you walk to your table. We were there for dineLA so we ordered off the prefix menu. Our waitress was lovely and helped us select a bottle of wine to go with our meal (lamb). The food was delicious. I had brussel sprouts to start, lamb for the meal and coconut cheesecake for dessert. While the food was very good, go for the atmosphere. It's a wonderful place for a special occasion or a romantic evening out. My one complaint was that it was quite loud and took away from part of the vibe, but I would absolutely recommend to friends and plan to visit again!

Beautiful date or special occasion restaurant with wonderful food and service!

By RandRCalifornia |

Superb in every aspect! This is one of the prettiest restaurants I have been to. There is a lovely patio with lots of green vines overhead draped with little white lights and hanging lanterns. There is a roof that encloses the top in the winter or rain. The other sections are equally well thought out and feel cozy and unique. The service was friendly and knowledgeable. The food was outstanding and the portions were substantial - not pretentious at all! We came for DineLA but we were told by our waiter that they have a "Chef Selection" menu year round that is similar to the DineLA pricing and set up. We had the shaved brussel sprout salad that was amazing - fresh and lemony. The sea bass - tender and flavorful and the chocolate molten cake with ice cream and orange sauce. My husband had the lamb and the scallop/pasta appetizer. Every bite was so good. Their menu options change seasonally so I am looking forward to going back. There is valet parking out front. DO make a reservation. There was a line outside when we arrived - so glad we had one.

Great food but too noisy for romance.

By 23Feb45 |

My wife and I decided to celebrate our wedding anniversary at The Little Door after seeing it described as "romantic." We were seated at a table for two surrounded by tables set for four. Even on a Thursday at 7:15 the restaurant was filled with sounds of conversation and laughter. That was as quiet as it got. I was disappointed only by how loudly my wife and I had to speak to each other. On the other hand, if you have a party of four, this is an excellent restaurant. The décor is tropical outdoorsy. The cleverly designed dining room feels like it is indoors but is actually outdoors with tree branches providing overhead cover. The restaurant is so dimly lit that you almost need a flashlight. An artist entertained the guests with quick and temporary paintings on a backlit canvas. The service provided by our French waiter was timely and helpful. Black napkins were provided upon request, our water glasses were constantly refilled, our food was served hot, and the check was accurate and arrived after it was requested. The food was prepared perfectly. I ordered the roasted organic chicken breast. It was very moist and full of flavor. The crème brulee melted in my mouth - I wish I could have finished it. There is an extensive wine list. The prefix menu was reasonably priced at $55. Our champagne cost $21 per glass. I would like to visit again - with a party of four.

Wow! What a find...You literally enter the little door into a spectacular courtyard with a roof of bougainvillea. You can dine in the courtyard or chose various nooks and crannies of romantic tables. Food Good but Pretty People Preferred

By visuality |

The Little Door has two distinct rooms serving two distinct clienteles. The main room is a marvelous re-creation of a French outdoor cafe at night; the back room is, well, a back room ... divided by the heavily-trafficked servers' route. We were seated in the back of the back room, and we had reservations. We waited quite a while for a server to appear, and service remained slow throughout. Our wine was not only NOT placed on our table, it was not even near our table ... in fact, it was somewhere on the other side of Servers Freeway. Our dinners were tasty - Squash Farro Risotto, Maple Mustard Chicken, and Mediterranean Sea Bass with Saffron Sauce - but being treated like second-class citizens while paying such high prices tipped the balance to a negative experience.

My favorite restaurant in Los Angeles

Just had the most magical dinner at the Little Door. Whether you celkebrate a new life or honor an old life, whether you have a big family dinner, a party with your best friends or an initimate dinner for two - this is THE spot in L.A. where you are surrounded by magical gardens, great service, delicious food and stunning wines and cocktails. It really is a little piece of Paradise. It makes you want to travel to the South of France or Barcelona or Rome or to the South of Portugal - buth then you realize that you no longer have to : ) Wew are in Love iwth this place. Also go next door for LA's best braekfast pastries and lunch time snacks.

Wow, EXCELLENT French-Mediterranean (South of France) Cuisine!!

By Edwin R |

The Little Door is a French-Mediterranean (South of France) Cuisine!! I recommend you take advantage of their "Chef's Selection Three Course Menu" for only $55. This includes appetizer, main entree, dessert, plus coffee or a fantastic Mediterranean mint tea!! One dish I'd highly recommend is their "MEZZE" ASSORTED MEDITERRANEAN APPETIZERS. It is served with Homemade Pita, Flatbread, Kibbeh, Falafel and Spanakopita. It was so good!! For my main entree, I ordered their GRILLED MARINATED MEDITERRANEAN WHITE SEA BASS AND SAFFRON ESPELETTE SAUCE with Ratatouille and Crispy Polenta Diamonds. I really enjoyed the hint of crispiness on the outside, but juicy and flavorful on the inside. It was also cool to see an artist painting while we had dinner. It was even more interesting to watch him wipe it down to start from scratch again, and in matter of minutes, create another masterpiece!! If you're looking for a more casual ambiance, right next door is the young sibling extension of "The Little Door" called "Little Next Door." It is a more casual space, and they offer a front outdoor patio dining over looking the street view. You can also purchase excellent to go French pastries here as well, but the best part, they offer Happy Hour!! Woot-woot!! The Little Door, is a must visit since it is a one-of-a-kind local French-Mediterranean cuisine with impeccable menu, and excellent service!" PS - There is no sign outside, so make sure to look for a "two wooden door numbered 8164." A second location in Santa Monica is also available and for more information, you can go to: thelittledoor.com Until then, Cheers! ~ :p

Best Martini EVER!! (and delicious, gorgeous restaurant)!

By SDStravels |

I booked dinner here as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday. This place is FANTASTIC. I hadn't been in probably 15 years - but to my delight, it was equally as lovely as I had remembered. First of all, while it's on one of the busier streets in LA, you'd have NO idea. It feels like you're on a remote getaway... with beautiful greenery and white lights. The service from start to finish was fabulous. When they called to confirm my reservation, I told them it was my boyfriend's birthday. When we walked in they looked at him and wished him a happy birthday! We arrived early and got a drink at the bar. I ordered the cucumber martini and it was amazing! So refreshing... not sweet, just perfect! And the bartender couldn't have been nicer, even though the bar was packed. Our waitstaff was great! The food was fantastic, and the ambiance was perfect. 100% recommend, and can't wait to go back!

Amazing find!!!

By Pibe76 |

We had just missed our reservation in another restaurant close by, due to traffic. We arrived at The Little Door and asked for a table for two, luckily, the hostess moved all at her power and got us a table. The ambiance of feeling outdoors but indoors is amazing. The food was above all expectations, the rissotto was amazing, great fish, just amazing!! Congratulations.

THE BEST TASTING DISH I HAVE HAD.......EVER !

By Tricks888 |

BOLD STATEMENT I KNOW, but it really was the best tasting dish I've had to date, anyway we'll get on to this later firstly lets talk about the restaurant Myself and my partner loved the mini courtyard oasis it was really cool and very romantic i definitely earned myself some brownie points for choosing this place thats for sure.. Olivier was our waiter and what a fantastic humble and honest garçon he was... easy on the eye (my partners words not mine lol) and explained the menu and the wine list superbly.. he was without a doubt the best waiter ive had in the states hands down.. Anyway enough of blowing his trumpet, let talk about this dish i opted for ladies and gents i give you this... PINE NUT & MUSTARD CRUSTED RACK OF LAMB, ROASTED GARLIC AND GOAT CHEESE SAUCE with Braised Kale, Green Lentils, Sundried Tomato, Yukon Gold Potato Puree That is all !! No explanation needed just GO AND TRY IT !!! And that was just my dish my partner absolutely loved hers too she opted for the halibut.. Thank You Little Door you certainly left two English visitor wowed !! Regards Ricky

Went for dinner with friends. Despite the small wooden door the restaurant is spacious and well decorated with great ambiance. Great menu and food is well prepared, presented and served. Large portions but full of varied and well put together tastes. A comprehensive wine list with varied prices was a good thing to see. This was a lovely evening out. Only drawback was that it is quite dark inside but then couples looking for a romantic night out may prefer this.

So romantic!

Little Door does not disappoint. Make a reservation to go. So romantic and beautiful setting. A little hidden treasure. The food is outstanding and service is the best Noelle Halcrow Vancouver

Excellent food in a very cosy romantic place

By OlivierFromBrussels |

Loved this place! And especially the patio which is very romantic, cosy and special. Felt like sitting somewhere in the South of France. The atmosphere is trendy, cool-chic and a magnet for celebrities. Menu offers variety of nice dishes. Portions are good. Prices are rather high. Service is fluid and friendly. We ate deliciously well: goat cheese tart (delicious!), ahi tuna tartare (great!), scallops (sublime!), pasta with vegetables (excellent!), apple tarte tatin (amazing!). Don't hesitate: go there if you want something more intimate and romantic (but mind you: the place is packed, although the amount of people doesn't take away the atmosphere). Make sure you book in time!

Fantastic find behind beautiful wooden doors!

By Alicia J |

You would never know that this is a tiny slice of Paris behind these wooden doors. I was the first customer of the night and they greeted me as though I had been there nightly. The atmosphere is like an outdoor Paris bistro with bougainvillea growing overhead in an open, quaint patio. The peach gazpacho with a basil glaze was phenomenal. Perfect for a warm evening. The rack of lamb with polenta ”points” was well seasoned and cooked to perfection. The small zucchini stuffed with artichoke, fennel and carrots was a great compliment to the lamb. My wine was a Chateauneuf du pape, by the glass, and was the best pairing. Since I was by myself, the waiter, let me try different wines first. Had to finish it off with the almond apricot tart. You can tell they have a pastry chef in house. I would highly recommend this for a quiet business meeting or dinner just for two.

Worst experience possible

By Giulia F |

Despite the excellent food, super romantic and amazing place, I DO NOT recommend The Little Door. I went with two friends on May, our visit would’ve been great if only for a surprise with the check. We chose to split the payment in 3, two of us would pay by card and the other in cash. While we were doing the math, the waiter warned that the tip should be paid in cash, even if some of us would pay with card, the tip SHOULD BE in cash - we thought it was awkward but ok. The waiter promptly took the money and cards, after a few minutes he came back with our cards and money saying that the amount of money was wrong, we had given less money and we should pay more $20 for him. The value that we gave was not wrong, each of us gave 1/3 of the account + a $30 tip - he claimed that the value that we gave was 1/3 of the account and only U$10 tip. When we said that we would not give more $20 for him, he tried to coerce us asking if we didn’t like his service and why would not deserve a better tip. He thought it would be easy take more money from us because we were three foreign girls. It was a super awkward and uncomfortable situation. So no, i do NOT recommend The Little Door nor go again!

What a great atmosphere

By davidbC63UX |

A group of 8 of us had dinner in this amazing restaurant that is much bigger on the inside that it looks from the outside. The ambiance was cool and sophisticated, the food was excellent, the service outstanding and the bill was paid by someone else so I have no idea of cost except that most main courses were around $40 to $50 and they had a set menu for $60 & $65

Eight anniversary

By mario d |

I was looking for a romantic and quiet place to celebrate our eight anniversary. I found this place on TripAdvisor- read the reviews and I decided to give it a try. So, I noticed that you needed to have a reservation so I sent an email and I got a reply within minutes - "your reservation at 7:45 pm is confirmed : thanks : Gina " So, it was a surprise to my wife. I told my wife to be ready at 7:00 pm. We drove to the place and got there in 40 minutes. Great thing that they have valet parking $8.00 plus tip. We read the sign The little next door and I was surprised " no, I made a huge mistake bringing my wife to this place to celebrate our special occasion- I though myself " so, I was disappointed because I wanted something romantic and nice - I asked my wife and as always nice and sweet " she said : it's ok honey, let's stay ". We wait for one minute and a nice lady asked - "would you like a table?" - yes, we have a reservation at 7:45 pm - she smiled and said - you are looking for The Little Door - let me take you there - so she guided us to a small cute wood door next to it - like a hidden entrance - so, for you surprise and for my peace of mind - we opened the door and there you go. It is like a movie. Moving or transporting into a different place. Totally different from what you can expect of this is the first time here. Nice and cozy place, relaxing and romantic. A hidden gem. !!! The rest is history !!! Lol. Do I recommend this place - yes! 100% We ordered the lamb rack - delicious. My wife ordered the pasta with veggies. - good ! Desert : vanilla creme brûlée ! Fantastic. Delicious ! Service : great 100% On time - clean and great warm service. Thank you for the good memory !!!

Very enjoyable dinner

By BirdiesTravels1 |

The Little Door has the ambiance of a European restaurant. We loved the look as soon as we stepped inside. We had a drink at the bar before being seated - the bartender was great - and my wife said the French 75 (with vodka not gin) was the best she’s ever had. We over ordered dinner, but enjoyed it all. Started with the cheese plate (large serving that could be split among four) and moved on to apps of carrot soup and shaved Brussels sprouts (again the Brussels sprouts were enough for several people). We split monk fish as our entree and ended with chocolate molten cake. The entree was a good one to split and the cake was a perfect way to finish dinner. We really enjoyed this spot and wold definitely recommend.

Amazing Dinner

By sunshine12367 |

This place lived up to the hype. Dinner was fantastic. We did the three course meal which if available I recommend. This way you get to try a bit of everything. Sometimes with fixed price menus the portions are pretty small but they all seemed to be the normal portion size. Our waiter was very attentive. The cozy atmosphere of this restaurant makes it an excellent place for date night.

Overpriced Mediocre food with great atmosphere.

By Christopher H |

I would say if you're in a trendy area you generally get average food and this is certainly the case for The Little Door. The Cod and other fish dishes taste like it could easily be of Vons quality and served in a heavy sauced plater. This is fine if you are at at a non expensive restaurant, but for the price point you should be getting fine dining quality. You can order a 110$ bottle of wine that you can get for 30 dollars at the grocery store, so everything is way overpriced. But yeah look where are, you are in a trendy and expensive part of L.A.. It is a nice atmosphere but the food is not nearly worth the asking price, go here for a drink but skip the dinner.

Very quaint and cozy

By 0505LiveLife2014 |

We had dinner here and loved the food. The environment of the restaurant was very warm and cozy. Small dining space in the back and a main room in/out door style seating. We sat in the back room which at first I was surprised that we had reservation and was very early 6pm and was seated in the back. It was dark, very cozy, but got warm with thefireplaxce going so the air conditioner kept kicking in blowing cold air our way. Our waiter was very nice and knowledgeable. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The wine was excellent.

Charming breakfast place

By Daniageorgetyan |

The little door is a wonderful place for breakfast, the Duck confit Benedict is to die for and the pain au chocolat ( chocolate croissant ) is nice warm fluffy as it should be. The Parisienne omelette is nice. The waiter is a very charming Swiss - French Dynamic young man that will help you out with the house specialties and the menu.

Fun kitchy place, food is very good

By RHL |

The lamb is great; even a Moroccan would think so - been there lots and this place is the real deal. Great service - very attentive. The decor is a bit on the cheesy/kitchy/fun side. Had a cauliflower soup that was INCREDIBLY GOOD.

Amazing ambiance and food. A wonderful romantic evening

By JMR1965 |

For those couples looking for a romantic intimate evening,, accompanied by wonderful food, then I recommend dining at the Little Door. I had the lamb chops and my wife ordered the duo of duck and both dishes were amazing . Look forward to going back

Great meal with wonderful ambience!

Delightful place with small wooden door entrance. Inside is a magical jungle setting. Food and service, both outstanding. Special experience!

Behind the Little Door lies a great restaurant.

By Mark W |

This is how a restaurant is meant to be. Great food, great service and great ambience. The food is quite simply amazing. The server was knowledgable in both the food and wine menus and was able to come up with a perfect pairing for our dinner. Will definitely come back again. A word of warning though, as far as I could tell there is no signage outside. However, walking through the door you find yourself and a busy and friendly restaurant. Obviously not a place you'd visit unless you knew about it so you will find more locals than tourists here (which is not a bad thing at all).

the best place in LA

eating at the little door is quite an experience, i'd say an extravaganza !!! music, food, guests, colors, all melted in an warn athmosphere, contagious vibe !!! had the best partying time

Very pretty

By Allan Stewart |

We were a party of 6. Its beautiful and romantic. The food was very good but not exceptional. Service was good however as we were 6 the service was 20%. I'm afraid I balk at paying a waitress( mind you she looked like a film star) $160 for two hours of service. However that's what the US is like. I probably would go back but not my favourite in LA

Exceptional meal with UCLA students

By unhappypatr0n |

Exceptional meal with UCLA students...too my daughter and mom out with her sorority sisters at the Little Door. Atmosphere was great...sat in what appeared to be in a greenhouse with lighted branches overhead, very romantic ambience and nice 6 feet separating each table with makeshift partitions. We started meal with appetizers: rapini, cheese selection, green salad and heirloom tomatoes, all shareable with 5 and enjoyed. For entrees we had octopus, halibut, agnoletti and vegetable couscous, all outstanding. Only negative...wine list very pricey. Will be back.

Yummy Food

By rhphoto |

The Little Red Door, what a happening place. Menu is diverse and decently priced. Beer and wine menu is great. I had the Cannelloni w/Wild Mushroom sauce, yummy!!! So Filling, friend had a steak. Not the thickest steak, but decent amount of food. Atmosphere was electric, looked like a place to be in L.A. Staff were kurt, but not over the top kurt. Service was very good and attentive. I would like to go back and try other menu items. very good food.

Romantic ambience and excellent dishes

By ournextaadventurela |

My very good friend flew in for a surprise birthday dinner and I had to choose where to go. Luckily, I got a table last minute an hour before. I have known this well-known restaurant but have never tried it possibly overhyped. It was all our first time with my partner and we were quite surprised. The ambience is romantic and charming with the vines above you and it's rustic feel. You can actually enjoy and hear your conversations. The music was appropriately upbeat lounge and subtle. The food were tasty. The seared foie gras baklava was delish and devilish. I had the duck confit but I felt it was not juicy as I expected for a restaurant of this caliber. The sauce and sides were underwhelming. The Moroccan couscous royale and rack of lamb were very good. The hostess was very nice and attentive but the server we had was not engaging and felt flat. Service was good and on-time. None of the their red wine selections we liked but their cocktails were good. We devoured our chocolate dessert! We were the last guests so we enjoyed the evening.

OUR BARTENDER, DAVE MADE THE EVENING!

By golferdude56 |

This place does not take reservations so after putting our name in along with our phone number the hostess said about 15 to 20 minutes so we headed to the bar where we met Dave and another guy bartender, darn, I can't think of his name but he was great as well. We chatted and had a couple drinks and then we realized it had been at least 40 minutes and we weren't seated yet so we went to the hostess to see what was up and she had totally forgotten about us. We told Dave about it and he said, you can eat here at the bar so we did. About 2 minutes later, another hostess came and said our table was now ready and we said no thanks. Dave got us each a glass of wine on the house and took great care of us. He recommended the steaks. I had the ribeye and it was done exactly how I asked for it. The place is very quaint though our backs were to most of it since we ate at the bar. I am glad we did so I am kind of glad the hostess messed up.

Good French and Mediterranean Food

By Tobbie888 |

This was our 1st time dining at this restaurant. Thanks to Dine LA. When we arrived at the location, I saw a receptionist holding a iPAD checking on reservation. After I gave her my name I was told that I made a reservation at "The Little Door" and she asked me to go to the next door. She pointed the restaurant sign right above my head and it showed "The Little Next Door". For a second I was wondering what's going on until I saw literally a little wooden door about 50 feet away and that's the entrance of the restaurant "the Little Door". Apparently these two are sister companies. The dining area was quite nice and had a Mediterranean feel. We sat at a table in the outside (mostly covered) patio. The weather was quite nice and it's perfect for an outside sitting. Of course we tried their Dine LA menu and we had the scallop on pesto mashed potatoe and the Goat Cheese Tart as our appetizer. My wife really enjoyed the tart. We both had Sea Bass as our entrée and the molten chocolate cake for our dessert. Overall it was a great meal and we enjoyed the food a lot.

Great Food!

By CRM |

My husband and I ate here on a recent trip to Los Angeles. We both had the Prix Fixe menu and all the food was superb.

Perfection

By DoctorFodrey |

This place was astoundingly good. From the atmosphere, to the drinks, to the food, to the impeccable service. It was everything you could hope for and a little bit extra. One of the best dinners I've had in Los Angeles. It's a little pricey, but it's ideal for a date, anniversary or Valentine's Day. In a word, superb.

The Little Door - A magical place to dine!

By laurelcanyon |

When you step inside the Little Door (and it is a little door you enter through) you'll feel like you've entered another world. There are twinkling lights and trees and in the warm months the patio is open air, and in the colder months the roof is closed. But you'd never know it.. You do feel like you're in Morocco, or someplace like that. The food (which is just one of the reasons to go there) is delicious, with herbs and spices that delight your palette. Of course they have an excellent and extensive, and somewhat expensive wine list but we always find something wonderful that fits our budget. I've seen lots of celebrities there - once Tony Bennet and he was so sweet he agreed to say hello to our Scottish friends who love him and had just gotten married. He was such a gentleman and came to our table, said hello and wished them well. Even took pictures with them. What a night. Can't guarantee that you'll see a star there but you will have a memorable night for sure.

A cute spot. Great for a romantic dinner

By Deborah R |

Such a cute little spot. The lamb chops were divine, as were the drinks and service. So cute inside. Our waiter was very attentive without being over bearing.

Fine French Dining

By Brad R |

The Little Door is a gem in West Hollywood. Suggested by a local relative who made our reservation, we opened the meal with a wine selection from their impressive list, then open the meal with the delicious “Mezze” Assorted Mediterranean appetizers. Both my wife and our guest had the filet, which they loved, and I had the Couscous Royale, Lamb Stew with the Lamb Chop and Sausage, which is hearty by French standards and very flavorful. I thought I was full until our server presented the dessert list with Coconut Cheesecake which I did not resist and do not regret. If you're looking for a romantic atmosphere or just a quiet place to enjoy some fine French cuisine then The Little Door is Tres Bien.

Overpriced and very noisy

By AMO |

Not suggested at all for a business meeting the server was quite intrusive and trying to oversell the table while interrupting our conversation. Food was very blend and poor in taste. Overall a very unpleasant experience

Excellent birthday

By iulia |

I have had my birthday dinner at this restaurant with my partner. It was the most romantic and beautiful place to spend time together. The food was excellent and the staff were very nice too. Cannot wait to get back here. Must be one of the most beautiful restaurants I have been too.

A Night of Enchantment

By MiggityMatt |

Walking in through the brown little door is the best part of this lovely surprise nestled in the heart of Los Angeles. I immediately thought, this reminds me of Africa, or the Mediterranean Coast, or Southern Italy, or someplace other than LA!! I loved it. I felt like I had time travel magic in my blood. The weight of LA fell away with the ambiance and great music. The drinks were superb. The salad sublime. The main course, I had lamb, was good but not the best lamb I have had in LA but I didn't mind because the overall experience was A++!

Terrible Birhtday of my wife!!!

By Roman Z |

Our waitress was very nice. And the interior is atmospheric. Perhaps the advantages ended there. The tables are incredibly close to each other, it was my wife's birthday. We moved to a table in the corner, but in the end, some freak sat down at the next table, who was talking very loudly, to be honest, I wanted to punch him in the face. He was talking very loudly and singing along when my wife got the cake. It is unacceptable for tables to be so close to each other in a restaurant of this level. We don't pay $60-70 per dish to sit next to some freak. I do not recommend this restaurant unless you want to ruin your evening. In the end my wife was upset, her birthday was ruined, I spent the rest of the evening calming her down. We paid for the level, but did not get it. The hostess also made us wait outside, we came earlier, something could have been done, but we had to wait. In general, the score is low, the tables are very close to each other, a disgusting freak who mockingly sang along to the song when my wife brought the cake, I could barely resist not to smash his face. Well, the low work of the hostesses at the entrance. Only the waitress was good. I highly recommend not to visit your place. I understand that profit and money come first, but you have to have some kind of edge, after which the restaurant turns into a diner where people sit on each other's heads.

One of my top 5 meal ever

By Martin940 |

Great menu, food is excellent, atmosphere is low key and extremely welcoming. Very relaxing and service is top notch.

Amazing French Mediterranean food

By Jennusy |

True to its name, the entrance was indeed a little door -- not that easy to find but once inside, the rustic ambiance dazzled. Service was superb and so is the food. The grilled octopus is a must order.
