I went to this restaurant with my mother and cousin, we had a wonderful time! The staff was very courteous to us, the food was scrumptious, easy parking, and the atmosphere and the decor of this establishment was very beautiful. I will coming again not just for the movie theater but for the bar and grill. Their pastry Shoppe is nothing to sneeze at either. This restaurant is absolutely a gem in La Jolla.

We were in town for business and The Lot was suggested to us for lunch. Its a beautiful restaurant!! We sat outside & it was just perfect. We (4) ordered 3-4 appetizers & each one of us ordered lunch too. The service was kinda slow & all the food was brought out at once. Appetizers should have been brought out first!!! There was hardly any room for all the food & drinks on the table. The brussels sprout pizza was kinda boring. The Mac & Cheese was awesome. We plan on going to La Jolla again and we may just have to try this place again.

We had dinner with our family this week at the Lot and the meal and service were really noting special. The atmosphere is very nice but the food is basic and lacking any originality, especially for the price. The service is significantly below comparable restaurants in the area. I was so hopeful for a special night and left disappointed. We won’t be returning.

I met 18 club friends there for Happy Hour last night, June 22.The architecture is modern and beautiful and quite different from anything else in La Jolla.I sat at a hand-carved long table near the bar that seated 10 people, so we could easily carry on conversations with multiple people. The atmosphere was filled with a buzz of conversations and young movie-goers.At first, the overall music had a European steady beat, which had little variation. That changed to a live band that sang and played music on the stage behind us.I couldn't identify with the type of music and found it distracting.I was told there is a different group every night. So, eventually you might find some music that is to your liking. The chopped Chinese Chicken Salad was very popular at my table, and several ladies asked to have it split to share with a friend. I ordered the entire delicious salad for myself ($17). The sesame dressing was superb and the overall flavor was great. However, I counted just 5 very tiny cubes of chicken, no peanuts, two pieces of mandarine orange, and two strings of crispy wontons. The salad was mainly chopped Napa cabbage, Bok Choy and Romaine lettuce...very tasty but without much of the ingredients advertised.I also ordered the Marcos Margarita ($12) rimmed with salt. It was pretty bitter and needed more agave nectar to smooth it out.So, my overall happy hour bill was $29 plus tip for a lot of atmosphere and not much food. Other appetizers at my table were the flatbreads: 1) Mushroom and Artichoke- very tasty, but again without much food on it and ditto for the 2)Tomato Margarita. The service was slow. I had to go to the bar several times to remind them of our orders. But, in all fairness to our waitress, who was very nice, there weren't other people assigned to wait on our area with 18 people. I guess I could say i really liked the modern design of the patio, bar, and restaurant areas the most. It's definitely meant to attract the young at heart. The food and service need improvement before I return.

So this is a beautiful, ritzy, classy place you can go to dinner, coffee and or a movie. The seats in the theater are huge, leather, and recline all the way. Would be the perfect experience if it wasn't for the fact that people can keep ordering food and drinks throughout the movie!!! The poor waiters have to duck but still the constant movement kinda ruined it for me. Tip for the lot: ordering should stop when movie starts!

We were staying down the street and walked to dinner one evening and heard live music. On the way back we found the live music and it was a Salsa band playing! Great music and a Taco bar that we would have eaten at had we known it was there. A lot of locals there for the food and great music for dancers that were fun to watch. Also, a great drink menu, try the LOT, their house drink........

We saw a movie and enjoyed the incredibly comfortable reclining seats. Since we had just eaten, we did not have any food or drinks. Most comfortable seating I have ever experienced.

I love the design of this new space in La Jolla. Beautiful outdoor seating as well as indoor. Located in the same building as 5 (?) movie screenings where you can order from the restaurant menu. The menus are limited but the food is quite good.

Me and my girlfriend came here to catch Arrival (Great flick!). The seats were super comfy and we were able to order craft beer and cocktails from the seats. Per my girlfriend, be careful with the cocktails, she said they were delicious and strong.

We have spent over $100 seeing a movie here so now we have taken advantage of the $10 Wednesday special. You can book seats online in advance. The seats are better than most people have at home and you can order while sitting there if you are a big spender!

Brand new, with an attached cinema, this modern, upscale restaurant provides great food and service in a a beautiful indoor / outdoor setting. Salads are good as well as the flat breads. And be sure to try a sangria. And oh yes, get Brandee as your server.

Sorry. But I was not impressed. The decor is beautiful and it is convenient for the movies. Food was good but very overpriced. Service was slow and servers were snooty. I tried dinner and brunch and felt the same both times.

The place is very nice, with comfy chairs for sitting down for dinner, great service, very nice ambience, with nice spunky music. However, I was very unimpressed with the menu, nothing that popped, your typical salmon, ricotta gnocchi, steak, nothing different in my opinion, and expensive.

The Lot has multiple movie theaters, underground parking, and a restaurant. The recliner seats are very comfortable. The restaurant is very convenient for a meal before or after attending the theater. The popcorn and drink were more than the theater tickets.

Member of staff showed us to a table waited for 5/6 minutes no body bothering to take our order plenty other good places to spend our money.

The food was amazing Super fresh, we tried different plates at the menu and we shared everything Believe it or not but the croissants are better or the same like if you are in Paris Service was great I will come back tomorrow to try the breakfast they recommended the chilaquiles

I am so grateful for the staff and space at The LOT for hosting my wedding reception. From start to finish, we had the most incredible experience . Planning- We live in another state so it was imperative that communication stayed continuous and that plans were detailed . Xochitl and her team kept in constant contact, any questions or concerns I had were addressed quickly and they were accommodating to our requests. Floor plan layouts were detailed as well as our timeline for the evening. Additions- The LOT gave us a great selection of vendors that we could use to personalize our event. Our favorite addition was the team from xoxo photo booth SD that came in. They hosted a picture booth that my guests LOVED! The pictures came out amazing . We used the downloads of the pictures for our thank you cards which was a big hit as well. Space- the outside patio is gorgeous! The staff was able to utilize the space to make it a perfect fit for my guests to feel comfortable and able to move around easily. The string lighting and greenery provided a truly elegant background and a versatile color palate to pair with table settings. Food- wow! We were able to offer our guests a beautiful description of entree and appetizer selections. All meals came out hot, the service was pristine. To say the food was delicious is an understatement. It was so good to know that my guests had an enjoyable dinner experience. This unique venue created an evening that I will cherish forever . The LOT , La Jolla is a hidden gem and we are so thankful we selected their location for our venue.

Delicious high quality food, the Sunday brunch was amazing. The service is always excellent, and the restaurant is absolutely gorgeous.

The Lot is a great place to meet friends or family. Good location with parking, so in La Jolla, this is a huge deal.

I've had breakfast lunch and dinner and the food is amazing!! The theater has great seating and high end service.

This another good movie theater like the Cinepolis VIP, with letter huge lounge recliner seats and restaurant service inside the theater; super comfortable.

Everything here is very nice. The staff are friendly and the movie theaters have recliners. You can select your location when paying for the tickets. A bit pricey, but we only go once a year so it is worth it.

A drink and snack after seeing a movie. Charming waitress a delicious well made Cosmo and delectable appetizer. We will return.

We enjoyed dinner at the lot last night with our kids. When we arrived they were having a meeting, so they finished up before seating us, which was fine but not very considerate. They did have a happy hour (I asked, they didn’t offer the info) but it’s only in the bar, which we didn’t feel like moving to. Also they’ve done a nice job with the design but my table has a view of the street and construction haha. The lobster salad was delicious, it’s one of my favorite salads. $19 Very simple but generous serving of lobster. We had the seared catch of the day, it was a type of sea bass, very good. The kids had a Pepperoni pizza and hot dog, with a side of sweet potato and truffle fries that were excellent. The service was good, mind you, there were only like 4 tables occupied. The thing that really bothered me was a house white wine (Hess) was $12!!! Come on!! It’s not like it had to be muddled. I just googled the price and it’s $11 retail price for the Bottle. Completely outrageous. Besides that, it’s all good.

I must say it is too expensive for the value. Everything seem to be too big especially the tables. For couples too far apart

I think their movie prices are rather extreme and so I assumed their food would be also but indeed it was really reasonable and much better than that, it was delicious!! The setting is lovely in such a well-appointed outdoor dining area protected from the sun but with sea breezes gently cooling the gathering spaces. I enjoyed huevos rancheros and it was perfect!

I dined last night with my wife and friends and the food was awful. Original high-priced meals that are poorly prepared and executed. Portions of the meal were cold as if it was microwaved. Not only my dish, but others in our group had a similar experience. Two members of the group had stale old tortillas served to them. The drinks used cheap booze. Not a good call for such an expensive place. Overall….Nice place, good music, overpriced poor quality food with acceptable service. Save your money and go someplace else if you're looking for an eating experience.

Normally visits made for the movies. Stopped by for lunch to give it a try. Not an extensive menu but fine for lunch. Grilled corn, flat bread and soup were all good. Slightly better than Sammy's. Place isn't thoroughly discovered so ample seating 1pm'ish on a Sunday. Service was fine but seemed a bit unorganized as new parties check in, tables have to be set etc. Recommended.

The Lot is quite new and has added alot of panache to the Village. The restaurant has a very beautiful indoor-outdoor setting and is open from early AM to late evening. The latter has been severely lacking in our town. Food is good, though very pricey - burgers and salmon entree are particular favorites. Breakfast is good though the menu lacks omelets. The baked items are really outstanding and shouldn't be missed. Whether or not you see a movie, the restaurant is solid.

I was at the Lot in La Jolla on Sunday for brunch with my family. There were 9 of us. We were celebrating a birthday. We were greeted and seated as soon as we arrived. The food was excellent and the ambiance was marvelous. Our experience was a positive one, except for two things: 1. The server seemed upset when we told him 4 of us would be doing the $35 per person brunch buffet while the other 4 of us would prefer to order a la carte. 2. We mentioned it was a birthday celebration way in advance, but nobody at the restaurant sang or did anything special. It went completely unnoticed. Other than those two points, The Lot in La Jolla is terrific. Lastly, I do wish the restaurant manager, who was present while we were there, would go to each table and inquire about service. It would make The Lot a warmer place and show they do care.

If you are looking for dinner and a movie, The Lot is a cool option. Huge restaurant and bar with large menu and upscale pricing. Movie theater with all the latest flicks and kids are welcome. Splurge and make a night of it!

I usually see movies at Cinepolis but had a gift certificate to use at The Lot. It's smaller than the Cinepolis I usually go to but it's way more upscale and less of a movie theater feel. There is a coffee shop where you can sit and enjoy coffee and desserts either before or after the movie. They have a great outdoor dining area with fire pits to sit around. The restaurant décor is very clean and modern. It is a nice place to sit and relax and enjoy a drink or bite to eat. I will be honest the food is very pricey and I'm not sure I think the value is there. I had chicken tortilla soup for $13 dollars and I would not order it again. It wasn't bad but not worth $13. There was barely any chicken in it. We ordered a glass of white wine for $16 dollars which I thought was a lot. It was the least expensive selection. I noticed a bottle of chardonnay I buy at Costco for $13 dollars (La Crema) was listed at $45 dollars on the menu. There was also a bottle listed for $95 and you can buy it at Costco for $20. The overall experience was nice and if you don't mind spending money to eat there it was a relaxing dining experience. The theater seats were very comfortable and service was good. I would go back but I would most likely just see a movie there next time and maybe sit outside to enjoy a coffee.

A place 'where adults go to play' and I can see why. The space is delightful. Great patio outside! Inside: soaring (like REALLY high) ceilings, great sports bar, cool restaurant and a movie theater. My salmon tacos were so-so, but the chicken schnitzel was great. Pretty pricey.

I've been here multiple times, both in the dining room and in the theater. The service and food is typically good, but the ambiance is really my favorite thing about this place, plus the convenience of being in the village and attached to a movie theater. The service in the movie theater is great. They'll even serve you tap water for no additional charge. This is definitely a go-to place for us. We went there on Christmas for dinner when it was difficult to get a reservation anywhere else for such a large group. We had about 8-9 people.

We stumbled upon this place while exploring La Jolla. Initially, we decided to check it out because the parking lot attendant told us the parking lot fee would be validated. Once upstairs, The Lot is impressive to behold. Ample seating for the restaurant, both inside and out. The concept of this restaurant/bar/coffee&pastry one-stop is noteworthy!! Design elements are soothing and inviting. We were in search of drinks and appetizers. The service began well but slowly descended into poor as more patrons arrived to watch the USA vs. ARGENTINA soccer game. Our server took over 20 minutes to deliver 2 appetizers. I actually watched her provide better service to other tables, while we were forgotten. Once ahe finally returned to the table, she apologized; then proceeded to forget about us again until we were prepared to walk to the front to ask for our bill. Sad. It is a shame, because the food was not bad at all. Unique flavor combinations for the Flatbread that we ordered. Decent drinks. Very, very pricey. For the amount that we spent on two appetizers and 2 cocktails, we could have had a three course meal. I wanted to love it. We were disappointed. Management, please give your servers more training. (I will refrain from naming her specifically).

Such a great place to sit and have an early morning coffee and amazing pastries. The lunchtime and dinner menu is also fantastic and the theaters are beautiful. Only complaint is that people treat it like a restaurant in the theaters and sit and talk/answer phones while they are watching movies. I wish they could do something about this.

My 25 year old daughter and I went to the brand new theater -restaurant at "The Lot" in LIBERTY STATION in Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego. Trip Advisor is NOT ALLOWING me to write a review of this new theater -restaurant in Liberty Station. So I am writing under the La Jolla site. I am a resident of Point Loma, and we have had NO THEATER until The Lot opened in April 2016. The price of admission is $15 per person, or $13 for military personnel. It seems steep, but the comfort of the large leather recliners, food trays, cup holders, and personal service justifies the cost. The temperature of the room was perfect, and so was the sound system. There's a spacious lobby with a ticket booth and a concession stand at the entrance to the movie theater. Large Popcorn costs $8, which is reasonable . There is a full restaurant and bar outside the entrance in its own separate building. Oddly, it is a modern glass & concrete structure , unlike the Mediterranean architecture of the theater and surrounding Historic Liberty Station . If you don't want to leave Point Loma, this is a fine movie theater !

Open, spacious, relaxing restaurant in the heart of La Jolla and next to the theater with plenty of parking. Good food, salads and entrees. Great place for before or after a film or Sunday brunch and dinner

We saw that The Lot was serving a Passover meal. Since we didn’t have visitors coming, we decided not to cook but to go out for the Seder meal. Omg what a mistake. The food was borderline inedible. We tried everything- the chicken, brisket, fish- looking for something to fill our stomachs. Everything was truly terrible, and we are not picky eaters at all! My husband said this has to be up there with his high school cafeteria among the worst meals he’d ever had. If that wasn’t bad enough, they were setting up a large birthday party table next to us. That group apparently couldn’t figure out if they wanted to be indoors or out, and the staff kept picking up and carrying their table, actually running into our chairs and table repeatedly as we were trying to eat our dessert, the only okay part of the meal. Nobody even bothered to apologize. We finally gave up and left. Worst meal ever.

I went to the opening weekend of The Lot for drinks and a movie. To think this was the old Jonathan's Grocery store I grew up as a kid going there to shop with my family was a truly an amazing transformation. The indoor/outdoor dinning was very well done with a great bar area and open airy feeling. The seven theaters are adorned with plush leather chairs and waiter service right to your chair. Saw the movie The Intern and enjoyed everything about the experience. Well done!

Is so nice to have a morning of and go and enjoy a great time watching a movie on the best cinema in San Diego; and all so enjoy really good food and drinks, what else can you ask? nothing. Go and try it is really worth the $$$

The food is very yummy and the location interesting. If you love airplanes overhead, which we do, you get them passing directly above as you dine. The restaurant is very, very nice! It felt like we were outdoors, so I am not sure if they can close everything up or if there is an indoor portion, but it was a great place for an early Saturday morning!

Food was terrible, also service is bad nice attitude but slow service and no knowledge of what to do. Not even the chicken finger were good, salsa with no flavor, cold dishes, all was bad from start to finish Will never go back

The service is below par and the food is very average and overpriced. We had to wait forever to be seated, order and served. Very disappointing. And the prices are outrageous.

Our daughter did comm/theatre at UCSD, and the Lot was her go to place when school/life was too intense, she would hide with UCSD buds and escape into the world of cinema...so when it became time to celebrate her graduation from UCSD, we thought the LOT was the perfect location. We worked with Rafael (private event mgr) and his crew... They were wonderful to work with, we took over the veranda/patio for two hours, tables adorned with centerpieces/flowers, matching linens, Tapas buffet, and full drinks bar....plus we did all the details/contracts from 3000 miles away, so that speaks to Rafael's professionalism and attention to detail. Parking can be a challenge, but the LOT does have valet, and its own lot below ground. The cast during the event (Naomi) just couldn't do enough to make sure all went well, and even when we needed to vacate the venue so the next event could be set up, they set up an area near the bar for our celebration to continue. It was a smooth production, and we all made family memories that our daughter, her college buds, and her extended family will remember for years to come.

The Lot offers a wonderful, welcoming indoor/outdoor dining environment, popular with local business people and socialites. Breakfast meetings seem to be the new "time to meet", and The Lot serves delicious Mexican themed breakfasts in an environment conducive to sitting and meeting with friends or planning an event. Robert, the manager, is ever present, and ever ready to ensure that your experience is a delightful one. Lunch is also Mexican American with a little spice to warm your spirits on a cool day.

We started with "The Lot" cocktail, which is the equivalent of an 'old fashioned.' It wasn't calorie worthy, in my opinion. Also, the wine list wasn't very notable. For our meals, we ordered the salmon and the barramundi. The salmon was very flavorful, even before adding the consommé. The barramundi hardly had any flavor. In fact, it only had flavor when paired with the blood orange (but there weren't enough of those on the plate to have one with every bite). It left us feeling not sure we'd want to return for another meal. If it were less expensive, we might give it another go. But it's a bit pricey to not be a spectacular meal.

Such a beautiful space to gather in La Jolla. Lots of outdoor seating with cool lamps and fire pits and tea lights hanging overhead. There is a HUGE tv inside with all the sports on it yet it doesn’t look at all like a sports bar which I love. The food is good. The avocado toast was probably my favorite that we ordered. The service was really great. For sure I’d go back.

6 of us took a stroll around la Jolla today - 80/90 minutes worth and then we stopped here for a scone and a latte. The waiter seemed very inexperienced (couldn't seem to deliver on orders given to him) while those of us who went to the counter and ordered lattes/coffees/tea and a "bite" were back at the table to eat tout suite! The ambiance outside and inside is very appealing and we will return. The latte was excellent. This is a multiplex movie theater with 7 viewing areas - reclining chairs and food service and pricey tickets go along with it - we were not there for the movies.

We ate here on Sunday - our last night in La Jolla. The Lot has movie theatres but we only came for dinner. Choice between indoor or outdoor dining; we chose indoor although the weather was beautiful but there was a live band on the patio which would drown out any conversation. The appetizers are huge so plan on sharing. Overall, the food was good but not as good as you expect for the price. The service was only fair but maybe that was due it being Sunday.

We went there for Sunday brunch. It was overpriced at $35.00 per person considering what they offered. The bacon was terribly undercooked. The wrap around toaster was not properly hooked-up causing the toast to come out the back. No butter on the buffet tables. The two people with me decided not to order the buffet and order off the menu, but the service was poor. When we complained the manager came over and apologized profusely and he provided free movie tickets as compensation.

The Lot has a nice Sunday brunch. Its not a huge brunch but offer enough of the standard items, omelettes and eggs, french toast, fruit, juice and coffee. It has a nice indoor/outdoor set up so its great for a nice summer day. They also have parking in the basement which is a good plus as it can be difficult to find parking space in La Jolla. I would go back again.

The lot has a "lot" to offer for lunch or dinner, but we genuinely enjoyed a filling and delicious breakfast. The eggs benedict Florentine was perfectly prepared, as was my wife's omelet. The service was great. Highly recommend this place for breakfast if you are staying in La Jolla.

My wife and I enjoyed the movie Remember in plush leather recliners in their new theatre adjacent to the restaurant. Then we sat at the long bar at their 3:00-6:00 pm Happy Hour. Very comfortable bar chairs with back support. One of the better HR's in town with craft beers, quality wine by the glass and select cocktails (ie. Mimosas, Sangria) at fair prices. HR appy selection is upscale and well priced with large portions. We have not eaten in the dining room, but the venue is open air and spacious. Other reviewers will comment on the food. Great concept pairing entertainment with bar and fine dining. Free parking garage below, entrance off Fay St. Give it a try; you'll enjoy!

After viewing a first run movie, we had dinner here and were pleasantly surprised. The food - all vegetarian - was beautifully prepared and delicious. We shared everything. We had an elaborate brussels sprout dish, a flatbread, Mediterranean salad, and a few more items. Not inexpensive, but it was excellent! The ambiance is beautiful and well-maintained.

I love the concept of this place! Big comfy chairs, small audience, and food brought to you at the touch of a button! But on the night we were there, honestly, the food was cold! Like I get that there is some distance between the kitchen and our seats, but not that much distance! We ordered the spicy sausage flatbread, pretty sure there was no sausage on it, hard to tell because of course you are eating in the dark! We also ordered a chicken sandwich with fries. All cold. I should have copied the guy in front of me who ordered pita bread and hummous. My $18 glass of wine was nice, but $18!! In the end we had the pleasure of paying around $68, just for the food. Next time, like any movie trip, just skip the refreshments and enjoy the show.

This review is for the lot movie theater not for the dinner or food served as I can't really comment on that except the popcorn. The valet parking is $10 here and parking can be somewhat difficult in La Jolla so I opted for valet parking. The outdoor atmosphere is welcoming with blazing fire pits and a coffee bar. The barista behind the coffee bar went above and beyond in excellence of service. The movie theater itself has reclining comfortable, wide seats with no bad seat in the house. There's a light between the seats so that you can read the menus and a call button to call your waiter to order food should you desire. I just love watching movies here! The valets were excellent and bringing my car back quickly. All and all a wonderful evening!

We went to The Lot with some friends. Spacious, inviting, modern look restaurant with a menu with great variety and choices for all tastes. Staff very friendly. Service good and food arrived in timely manner for all four of us at the table. We enjoyed the different creations, tasty and fresh. We're looking forward to return for the great food, great friends in such a great place.

So many jalapeños and hot peppers I about had to go get my stomach pumped. I ate a few bites before I could see that the sandwich was absolutely covered in hot hot hot Peppers. It’s dark in the theatre so I couldn’t see the peppers. I am suffering still 7 hours later as I write this review. They did refund me for the chicken sandwich. But somehow that does not make my stomach feel better. I wish I had read the reviews prior to going there. That should not be on the menu.

A lovely restaurant, but my lunch order--the Greek salad--was not very good. In the first place, Greek salads don't usually contain much lettuce, but this one was primarily lettuce with a few slices of cucumber, some tough-skinned cherry tomatoes, and some olives. This might have been acceptable except that the lettuce was limp and thoroughly drenched in dressing. My companion had a strawberry and lentil salad, and found it unremarkable. We had a litre of sparkling water ($10) and our total bill was $40.00. We didn't think it was worth it. In addition we were subjected to never-ending computer-generated "music." It was like being trapped in an elevator. It seemed that there were either so many waitpeople that they were tripping over each other or none at all. When they were there they were pleasant enough, but not particularly professional acting. I might go back for an appetizer or drink before or after a movie, but I can't imagine rushing back for another meal.

Great food, lots of choices!!! Really spacious restaurant that makes it so comfortable to enjoy your meal. The service was friendly, accommodating and meals arrived in no time. We really enjoyed our lunch at the Lot and look forward to going back to try some other tasty choices!

My wife introduced me to this cafe/restaurant/cinema experience a couple of months ago and we have become steady customers ever since. This is a combo of morning pastries and coffee combined with a full service restaurant and a large cinema that allows food and alcoholic beverages. So, let me start by reviewing the positive aspects of this establishment. For a simple breakfast consisting of cappuccinos, pastries and croissants made fresh daily this is, by far, the best place to enjoy such an experience in La Jolla. We love the fact that you can enjoy a movie in an oversized recliner while enjoying small plates of food accompanied by cocktails or a bottle of wine (or two). The service in the theater is quite good. The restaurant bar is nicely appointed but the restaurant portion needs improvements on both consistent service and food preparation. Quite frankly the menu lacks inspiration. So, if they can revise the menu and improve the food preparation and presentation they will have hit a home run.

Lovely outside seating area with a laid back feel. Good coffee and nice looking pastries. I haven't used the cinema or the restaurant, but both look good (although quite expensive)

I just love this place. Restaurant food is real good. Many staff throughout to help out and are always friendly. Movie seating is the best. While the tickets are expensive (about $7 more per ticket than the average Arc Light), I find it a much more enjoyable experience. Cleaner, less crowds, no Gong Show.

We went 2 couples for dinner to this beautiful restaurant. The server was a 10. I have some intolerances and he was fantasic taking care of me. Food was great. The 4 of us enjoyed it a lot. We had Filet, fish, pasta, all great. We will be back many times.

We had never tried a meal here and thought we would do so before a movie. It was a Sunday morning and got to be fairly crowed. No big deal. We had made reservations, which you may want to consider if it is a weekend. Our server was rather busy throughout and was slow getting to us and re-filling our coffee cup, but we weren't in a real big hurry. The food was well cooked and enjoyable, although she had forgotten the potatoes and the toast. Again it was quite busy. Since this is in a tourist area and it was summer, a lot of restaurants were busy at this time

Cold food terrible service! Bakery is good. We have been here more than once. We keep trying but it doesn’t improve.

I was there last week to watch a movie with a friend. We were celebrating here birthday and we wanted the whole experience. We bought our tickets online which were not cheap at all 45 dollars. We get there with enough time to order drinks and enjoy. Unfortunately we go take our seats anxious for some birthday girls night out drinks and press the call button various times. Nobody came for at least 10 minutes. We decide to get up and go get our own drinks as we bump into a waitress in the hall and offers to take our order. We ask her for the drink menu and said she would bring it to us. Well she didn't, she went to go ask for more people's order even though we were the first 2 in the theater. We had to get up again and go to the bar to get our own drinks. Wasn't the $45+$16 drink experience I had hoped for. Wish I could get my money back.

no brainer for a date night- all in one- drinks, amazing movie venue, dinner and continue drinks at the amazing bar! which is perfect for watching ANY major sports event... 10Dlls movie nights on Wednesdays, ladies night, etc.... you make your own dress code and THAT was perfect when strolling in with the kids in the middle of the day for lunch and a movie. Setting high standards for the rest of San Diego ... originally a Mexican concept btw, that they have been enjoying for years!!!

I had breakfast at the lot a couple of months ago, and it was good. This time, it was a disappointing experience. I don't plan on returning to The Lot. The service was horrible, here are just a few examples. There were three of us, and only one place setting. Eventually I had to go to another table and get placemats and setups. I ordered coffee, and no milk or sugar were brought to the table. I had to walk over to the coffee/bakery area and wait in line to get some milk. Later when my oatmeal arrived, no milk was provided, although I had requested some when I ordered. Again I had to go to the coffee cart. The waiter never checked back after serving our cold food to see if we needed anything else. Food was okay, all in all a very disappointing experience.

We live in La Jolla and decided to celebrate our anniversary at The Lot. We made a reservation. Upon our arrival it wasn't clear where to check in for our dinner. We asked a young man who appeared to work there and he looked lost. One suggestion is to have someone posted at the entrance to direct visitors to where they want to go. We were seated and to our delight proceeded to have a lovely dinner. Food was excellent but they need to work on giving a better impression of being organized and on top of the situation. It will be our go to for future celebrations.

Stumbled across this place and was intrigued by how beautiful it was... it's a movie theater, bar, lounge, and restaurant... we went ahead and sat outside by the fire and opted for the all you can eat tacos for $25 which includes a beer... very delicious tacos !

The Lot is a fun place to sit outside - lots of warming lamps, fire pits and nooks to hang out. Lunch was a fresh and flavorful Mediterranean salad.

The new luxury movie theater and restaurant in la Jolla, The Lot, brings welcome entertainment to the bustling village. The striking modern architecture, exotic orchid/succulent arrangements and statement art all contribute to the posh elegance of this new establishment. The reclining theater seats are super comfortable and bar/restaurant service is available throughout the screenings. The Lot takes one of America’s favorite pastimes to a whole new level.

We’ve visited The Lot many times and usually enjoy ourselves — the food is good, the bar staff is excellent, and most servers are attentive. But on our most recent visit, things went very differently. Drinks we ordered during the movie didn’t arrive until the very end, and in the meantime we were double charged. Another server kindly fixed the bill, but afterward the original waitress (older, blonde, late 50s/60s) confronted us outside the theater in a hostile, aggressive way. She was so unhinged it honestly felt like she was five minutes from asking us to fight in the parking lot. We drove home genuinely worried she might follow us. I posted a review on Google, and management’s response there made this worse. Instead of addressing the unsafe and unprofessional behavior, the general manager reframed it as a “happy hour pricing” issue — even though our drinks weren’t from that menu. It felt dismissive and insulting. Every other staff member we interacted with was wonderful, but one unhinged server and a manager who refuses to take accountability were enough to sour what could have been another great night. Travelers deserve to know: this location has a serious customer service problem, and management’s handling of it was unacceptable.

We love watching a movie and having dinner at the Lot and the hum of activity and food in the restaurant and bar are great. But beware ordering in the theaters unless you happened to bring your flashlight! We ordered the fennel flatbread and about died from the raw red peppers on it which we could not see in the dark. It is really dark, for good reason, and seeing what you ordered is very difficult. We also think an ingredient that hot shouldn’t be on the menu at all, unless an option specifically requested.

The Lot has been open for a while now and it does seem to be getting better. But if you are in the La Jolla area and are looking for a place to grab drinks, or dinner and a movie, then this is your place. 1. If it's just the two of you, skip the restaurant and head straight to the bar instead since the service will be much quicker. 2. The servers in the main dining area can be a hit and miss, some are very friendly and attentive and others are just outright rude. 3. The food can also be a hit and miss, food on one visit can be delicious and the next can be pretty bland. 4. The movie tickets are more expensive than your usual movie theater, but the experience is much more luxurious. Go on a Wednesday when they have they have the $10 specials. 5. The seats and sound in the movie theater is pretty good, but the waiters walking inside can be pretty loud. I would recommend this place if you've never experienced a luxury movie theater, but not for repeat visits.

Enjoyed the comfortable seating, but the service took nearly an hour for our ordered food to be delivered and we had to ask for napkins and silverware. Hope your have better luck!

This is an upscale restaurant and cinema combination concept. The restaurant is supposed to be good enough to stand alone. The cinema is luxurious with telling leather chairs and you can also order food during the movie. I find the service distracting. The food was pretty good but it was surprisingly not that fast. I would not actively go back

We had dinner and the food was cold and uneatable. The fries were soggy and cold. The wait staff was more interested in talking to each other than waiting on customers.

Met a friend for happy hour. Our waitress barely gave us any attention, we would have ordered twice as much if she had. Very popular place, nice environment, but does need better service. Free underground parking which is a plus in the area.

How fun to be able to grab a bite then catch a movie. They usually have a weekly special that makes it easier to attend with family of kids.

Nice atmosphere- good food and the service tonight was very good. Best experience I have had here - seems to be improving

we stopped in for a light bite and were not disappointed. We had a Cobb salad and tortilla soup. Both were excellent. We were then surprised by a very good 4 piece band.

We stopped in here because most other places in town required reservations. And we had just gotten into town. We loved it! Open, airy and atmosphere was perfect, not crowded and loud. The food was awesome. We had the flatbread pizza and a Chipotle pasta with a salad. We came back the next morning for a coffee and Danish, sitting in the outdoor area. This will be our go to spot next time we stop into town.

Rafael is the best ever! I had my sister and brother-in-law wedding with reception at the The Lot La Jolla and it was the most beautiful wedding ever. Rafael and his staff went above and beyond with outstanding customer service and professionalism. The food served was the best and very tasteful. The wedding set-up and reception was absolutely beautiful. Even with the rehearsal dinner, the food was very good and the ambiance along with location is just perfect! I highly recommend the Lot and a huge thank you again to Rafael, forever grateful!

We visited for a movie and to dine during the show. Drink list at the bar before hand was decent and not too over priced. Food was excellent (salmon and a burger) and also decently priced, a bit higher than average but service was great an it was about on par for the in theatre dining we've done before - they always have a premium to regular restaurants. But the movie tickets were rediculously expensive. Over $20 for a show. While comfortable leather seats, that was almost twice the normal price. And the app showed us a $10 price but when we arrived it was $20 each.

I saw a movie with plush lie back seats but I only ordered appetisers, drinks & dessert (strawberry shortcake - yumm) . You can order before the movie and the seats actually have a menu with a discreet button to call for service and ask for what time you want the food served during the movie. I didn't eat the main course but saw the burgers going to other people looked very delicious and when I bough the tickets in person during the day - they had a nice brunch buffet which looked really appetizing - lots of choices..

This is a surpising place becasue it is best known as an upscale movie theatre!! And it is. This is the only theatre I have ever been to where you can order food and drinks (including alchol) while you are watching a first rate movie. Ya gotta experience this at least once, But bring your wallet. It is bloody expensive.

On vacation in La Jolla, we decided to see Crazy Rich Asians, playing at The Lot on Fay Street. We were amazed, however, when told at the box office that two senior tickets, on a midweek evening, would set us back $40. Apparently The Lot has never heard of competition. Or, maybe if you’ve paid $5M for your cozy beach condo, $20pp seems like nothing for a movie. For those of us from the real world, however, it seems more like an outrage. We went back to our hotel and streamed a movie on Netflix. Then, back home in New Mexico, we saw Crazy Rich Asians at our local Cinemark. The damage was $10.76, including tax. That’s for the two of us.

The Lot offers guests a nice place to socialize before or after attending a first-run blockbuster movie or simply to enjoy being out on the town. The dining and bar area is open-air seating with a very high beamed ceiling giving guests a wide open view of who is there. The crowd that hangs out in the bar is friendly and the large tables encourage cross-talk between parties. If you desire more privacy, there are cozy tables for two or four as well. The bar is lively and happy hour drinks and food are very reasonable and totally excellent! There is also a bakery case where you can sample the most decadent delights with coffee or other beverages. This makes for an ideal social scene any time of the day or night. Wednesday, movies are $10 all day/night. If you order the $12 salmon appetizer plate (5oz on quinoa tabbouli with fresh asparagus) and a drink you'll have a stellar date-night for under $50. You can carry your beverage from the bar into the theater so order it before you go in. Otherwise, you can place an order once in the theater. There is also free parking underneath the theater, be sure to have your ticket validated. Access is off Fay Ave. If you miss the entrance just go around the block again.

Love the seating, ambience and food. Comfortable and inviting. The only way to see a movie. At peak times, parking may be tight in the structure.

We were looking for coffee. Our GPS led us into an alley way and we found "The Lot". Delicious corn-blueberry pastry. Caffe Latte and Cappuccino were great! Appears to be an upscale restaurant with fine dining. Will try a meal next time.

Very nice particularly during warm evenings. Food is good, perhaps not great but fun atmosphere and it's open late! The fact it stays open late and has good food is a key feature for us since most restaurants in La Jolla close early, even on weekends.
Great food, but it was cold.
The food was great, but it wasnt warm! The sauce of the chilaquiles I had was cold! But the place is beautiful and has the cinema wich is amazing! Although the food was cold, it tasted really good and the server was beyond wonderful! I really recommend this place!
