First time eating at The Love and I will be back. We waited only about 10 minutes for our reserved table. Upon being seated at a great table, the server brought us complimentary rolls and a veggie/green goddess dip platter. The fig Caesar Salad was very good - large portion and can easily be shared. Loved the spareribs. We did not order dessert, but, we were given s plate of little goodies - complimentary. All these little niceties made this a lovely dining experience.

Made Reservations for 8 on a Saturday for brunch. From the minute we walked through the door, we had a great experience. The staff was super friendly. We had fried squash rings (Wow!), and coffee cake appetizers. Add in the mini buttermilk biscuits. Nice way to start. Had the Broken Arrow cocktail that was a very nice drink. Also tasted the Fig and Lemon cocktail and I liked that too. My main course was the Prime Rib sandwich and it was the best I have ever had. So tasty and flavorful. Everyone in our party raved about their meal. The Omelet was very good according to 2 people who had that. The 1 person that had a bowl of soup said it was hot, tasty and filling. You can visit their website and see the menus. Very much worth the price. I will be going back again, for sure.

The Ambience and the food are amazing! We arrived before our reservation and were seated right away. So worth the trip!

I had the best meal I have had in years at The Love several nights ago. I had smoked sea bass and a dessert of miso ice cream on top of a blond brownie. Both were unique, beautifully presented and delicious - plus we were seated on a cozy, comfortable banquette which I loved!

Great restaurant in downtown Philadelphia. Good variety on the menu as well as options for vegetarians. Food is fresh and flavorful. Atmosphere is inviting and the staff is very friendly. Recommend making reservations even for lunch.

Hands down im obsessed with the Love and not just because the name is so cute, the vibe and food are all there, like amazing. The staff was so attentive, our glasses of water were never empty and we didn't have a single need that was not met. The food is amazing, especially the homemade chips.

Fantastic meal served at the Love. We shared the hush puppies, savory delights with honey butter and love bird, fried chicken included greens and grits. So flavorful. Great service and ambiance. Drinks were pretty tasty also! We will have to go back and try the dessert

Great location and atmosphere. It's really cute, and the food is good. Portions are decent size. The drinks are also really good.

The meal and service were excellent. First time I've had dinner there and my colleagues and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Outstanding is an understatement... delicious food (pasta and seafood cooked to perfection!) The steak Tartar was the perfect start so damn good! The Spaghetti and Lobster pasta was delicious as was the Short Rib and The "Lovebird" buttermilk Chicken. We received top of line service from start to finish our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable accommodating ... wonderful experience! can’t wait to be back!

The atmosphere, the food, the cocktails! The Love is fabulous with friends, a tequila cocktail, cheese plate, wine, chicken, risotto, pasta. Nothing was less than delicious. It is now a favorite, you can not go wrong. I can not speak as to whether it is family friendly, it doesn't have a vibe that says "kids love it here" but some kids would defiantly love it.

We stopped in for an after theater dinner on an early Sunday evening. The atmosphere and service were excellent. I had the acorn squash with pomodoro sauce and my dinner companion had the fried chicken with collard greens. Both were excellent. We also started with the duck over salad greens which was delicious. We would definitely come back

I happen to LOVE The Love. I think it’s cozy and intimate. Food is always delicious. Even better with great service and of course, the company 😉.

Booked an outdoor dining table here, and they are doing a fantastic job with keeping people comfortable and safe. Sweet little shack/chalet's line the street, and each table has it's own "room". The food, was delicious! I started with the special of the day, a tomato, cucumber, salad, with brioche croutons, and green goddess dressing. I am still dreaming of it days later. For my main, i had the lemon risotto. it was topped with mascarpone and three fried squash blossoms. Again, i wish i could swing in there and have it again today. My dining partner enjoyed her pulled pork pasta dish, as well. Wish we had time/room for dessert, the selection looked great.

We purposely went slowly, ordered a lot and spent a bundle during a three hour dinner. (We were waiting to pick up a teen from a concert.) Wait staff was great, didn’t push us when we said we were not in a rush. we loved the tastes and the portions were much larger than expected. We got the fried chicken because it is part of the buzz. It was good but not amazing and with so many other great tastes such as the bronzino and everything else we sampled, we would encourage you to go with your gut and not the crowd. The ambiance is calm and clean with great artwork and we saw everyone from older parents hosting millennials to business dinners and couples of all ages.

Wow, wow and Wow. I loved my meal and experience here. They served the best grits and chicken I have ever had anywhere. The grits was an experience all by itself. Looing forward to returning in the future.

My favorite brunch spot in Philly - the beet salad is fresh and amazing. I love that the menu updates with new and interesting foods and the location makes it the perfect place to enjoy a day in the city.

Great choices, very attentive service, great cocktails. Would definitely eat there again!! Went for a Saturday brunch and really enjoyed the delicious fried chicken and waffle.

What a great find! In Rittenhouse Square. Romantic ambience with a hip vibe. The service was top rate. The menu filled with interesting sounding choices with creative flavors. The presentation of each of our meals was artful. They were equally delicious. Portions were not large allowing you to enjoy starters, a pasta or risotto before an entree. The raviolis were delicious, as were the chicken and bronzino dishes. For starters we had the steak tartare and mushroom toast. The desserts we had were different and scrumptious. Pumpkin ice cream with a warm blondie topped with pumpkin seeds a must!! What's not to Love! Make a reservation!!!

Unfortunately I was unable to be seated yesterday around 5 . Plenty of empty tables, but they wouldn’t take me for a quick bite . I was told by a group of hostesses that they were expecting reservations . Not convinced, I dropped my shopping bags at my hotel and passed again 20 min later . Still plenty of tables available . I do work in hospitality in NYC for over 15 years . There are different and well mannered ways to convey the very same message .

Overall had a pretty good experience. The food was delicious but I felt very rushed. First off, we had a reservation at 9pm but didn’t get seated until closer to 9:30. At this point we were really hungry and just wanted to put in an appetizer while we looked at the rest of the menu. However, the waiter informed us that she had to put in our entire order at once. Wasn’t very happy because I just wanted food fast!

I've been here twice this month! The Host was friendly both times and last night didn't disappoint. Our food was wonderful- I had steak and potatoes. My friends had the Salad and Raviloi and the Brussels Sprouts. This is a beautifully designed space. Don't miss this.

We went to The Love for dinner where we had the most amazing meal. We shared the tuna crudo; we wanted to lick the plate at the end. My husband had the branzino, a very generous portion. I had the salmon (so good) but the Brussels spouts were even better. We shared the chocolate chip dessert. We were already full but we loved the chocolate chip cookie. Definitely go if you are in Philadelphia.

We were staying nearby The Love and visited early evening. The food was exquisite and we had a very nice bottle of wine to accompany it. We split a corn bread as an appetiser, it was truly delicious. The service was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our experience at The Love.

Dishes are well prepared, with attention, quality and class. But also you can see service is important, so overall a very good experience.

The atmosphere and decor were trendy, as was the menu. The omelette paired with the biscuits and pear-cardamom butter served as the perfect brunch

So much to *love* about The Love. Our cute cozy table, the attentive staff, the easy access to reservations on Thursday night and the food! The cheese plate was amazing... yes please! Atmosphere is warm and beautiful. I ordered the chicken and my wife ordered fish and felt it was better than we could make at home... Rarely do I feel that way about eating out. We spend about $60/person with out wine dessert. Can't wait to visit Philly again!

Pleasant dining experience, nice menu choices with a professional staff. Four of us dined outside on a warm humid evening and our atmosphere was remarkably perfect!

Loved the food and the atmosphere!! Service was great too!! The only thing is I was catching up with a friend and we wanted to catch up and the food came out way too fast for that! LOL not a bad problem to have but if you need a quick bite, something to consider.

Perfect celebratory dinner at The Love. Our server Lauren was lovely and our table was cozy and inviting. Favorites were the mushroom soup, house made ravioli and the fried chicken. Great cocktails and wines by the glass selections. My pet peeve about food is when it doesn’t come out hot and I’ll give it to the love. Even my soup was piping hot, which is hard to do. Fabulous meal! The main reason why I’m giving five stars is this place is staffed so well there’s literally a bus person a server, a hostess with the biggest smile everywhere you turn. Manager Kevin walking around making sure everything’s going well. When I was waiting for my husband to pull up the car I see one of the hostesses going to windex the doors that’s great training and management right there. LOVED the Love.

We walked in for our 11:45 reservation with a tremendous number of people looking for a table...luckily we had a reservation. They first moved us to a booth with the sun shining down on the table. We requested a change and they seamlessly moved us further back in the restaurant. No complaint, no issues, no worries. Our waitress, Andrea was patient as we sat there talking instead of looking at the menu. Once we ordered our 4 different entrees, each was spectacular. Another Steven Starr hit restaurant.

I enjoyed the vibe in the restaurant. But I felt for the price the food should definitely be better. We got the fried chicken and the risotta. The fried chicken was good, but not the best I've ever had. The risotta was OK - the brussel sprouts on top were definitely over burned so they were bitter. I felt it could be better presented also. Won't be returning but wasn't the worst meal in the world - disappointed but I could see there was potential.

First time we ate here, was for lunch, and the next two times, was for dinner, this place is consistent with great food , great service, and a good location. Dining outside can be difficult, but the heaters did help, and the staff was wonderful. We had the mushroom soup, and I had the scallops and my friend had the pork chop. We did split the harvest salad which was so fresh with apples and walnuts and was yummy. We actually got to witness a strolling band playing” lean on me,” which is so apropos to this time. And, two young couples who had just gotten married. It was a lovely evening.

Ate on the second floor, not as hectic as downstairs.excellent food, small portions. $5 for bread? Our waitress V was very knowledgeable, pleasant and attentive.

High energy Rittenhouse Square restaurant with very attentive waitstaff and an interesting menu. A "fig Caesar" salad was an imaginative take on the classic with the sweetness of the fig flavor accenting the typical salty & garlicky anchovy/parmigiana dressing; although carrying a hefty price the portion size was generous enough for 2 to split. The creamy pumpkin soup had a delightful flavor but, on the other hand, barely filled the bowl to about one third. An acorn squash entree was stuffed with burrata and rested on a bed of pomodoro sauce, pine nuts and escarole - a delicious & filling vegan choice. The hot & sour halibut was more hot (but not excessively so) than sour but suffered from an inadequate serving size for the $34 price tag, and a paucity of bok choy & turnips as its foundation. We were impressed by the attention paid to one of our party's serious food allergies and when none of the standard menu items was deemed safe, a generous portion of grilled salmon filet with stir fried vegetables was substituted without any fuss. A side of "torched" broccoli would have benefited from more fire but the accompanying hot sauce accentuated the vegetable experience. Pumpkin spiced ice cream with pistachio biscotti rounded out a pleasant dining experience - definitely worth a return visit but order carefully if you're on a budget.

We stopped here for drinks and appetizers. Waitress was very nice and the food delicious. Highly recommend the cheeseboard.

When you walk in it may seem crowded and noisy, but somehow you feel like your table is your own oasis, and the noise isn’t so loud that you can’t have quiet conversation. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and are more than willing to help with drink and food selections. The duck salad and cheese boards were great appetizer selections for us. The lobster spaghetti had chunks of lobster in it, not skimpy and very fresh (the sauce isn’t light, though). The fried chicken was out of this world, one of their specialties. A place worthy of trying again.

Ample portions and fun lively vibe at this indoor outdoor dining spot in a great location in Rittenhouse Square. The burger was 100, great service, packed at 12 on a Thursday. Huge menu. Awesome

The menu and prices reflect an upscale, eclectic, and quality restaurant. The execution and waitstaff--not so much. It is a pandemic. Things are imperfect but we were served mediocre food, had lousy service and spent more than $70 for 2 people at brunch with no alcohol or dessert. We have eaten there in the past and it was far better. We fell out of love.

I love al fresco dining but truly nice spots are rare in Philly. The Love is one of them. There are only eight tables for two yet we only had a short wait for one at 7:00 PM on Saturday evening. And out waiter was very attentive despite the much larger number of partrons inside. It was actually quiter on the street compared to inside. Street traffic was light as you'd expect for one one of Philly's north-south streets. But the side walk is wide so passerbys could walk two abreast without making us feel like there was an unwanted guest in our dining room. In fact the many pedestrians made for great people watching as most were attired in a multitude of ways for an even out in this ritzy part of town. The view, too, is delightful. We could see the Mellon building lit up for the evening and had a nice angle on Liberty Place, two of my favorite Philadelphia buildings. Then directly across the street is a wonderfully ornate house you really need to see. Most important

I could not have been happier with the drinks, meal or service at The Love. My first time and will certainly revisit. Our server recommended the perfect wine based on the table's tastes and the service was first rate. Fried chicken - amazing. Steak and potatoes were cooked to the perfect temp and the sauce unreal. I love The Love and can't wait to return.

Great restaurant, with quality food.We took both meat and fish, all very good The staff is very kind. If you are in Philadelphia and want to eat good food you are in the right place.

Joined some family for a celebration today in Philadelphia. And my wife has been wanting to try this upscale eclectic restaurant as she heard it was great. She is always right! Our server Lianna was amazing! She knew the menue well and made some great apps and meals suggestions. We started with Chesse board, Risotto, and truffle oil, followed by the Tuna crudo. each was excellent. I prefer larger portions but the food was so good!. Some of the table went with some of the specialty drinks they looked good. For dinner, I and three others went with the highly suggested pork chop, wife and daughter went with the salmon, and one rigatoni and short ribs. all was so delicious. Wife made a great choice for dinner tonight!

After reading all the positive reviews we decided to try The Love. We had a very disappointing experience. The restaurant was full on a Wednesday night and the noise level is quite loud. It was difficult to have a conversation without almost shouting. The breadsticks were just ok with little flavor. We shared the ravioli which was very good. I had the scallops and my husband the steak. He ordered the steak done medium plus and engaged in a conversation with our server about how he wanted it cooked. The steak came medium rare. It was taken back and came out almost well done. They offered to cook a new steak which also came medium rare. It was a very frustrating experience. The did take the steak off of the bill but that still could not compensate for a ruined evening. My scallops were quite good but after being taken back to the kitchen each time with the steak were almost cold when they were finally eaten.

Went there for dinner with my husband. Restaurant was nicely designed. Our waitress was efficient but never smiled or showed any interest in us. Food was decent but not that good for the price paid.

Vegan/whole food plant based options are very limited, and what they have is bland. I ordered the squash entree minus the cheese and it very bland. The tomato sauce was really good, but overall the dish was lacking any depth of flavor. I also ordered a side of broccoli and that was flavored nicely. My friend went all out an got the steak tartar and the fried chicken (which came with grits and collards). She thought her meal was wonderful. Considering this was a Star restaurant I was a little disappointed as my expectations were much higher. The restaurant was very cold. The air conditioning was up so high that the candle were flickering wildly. The patrons on either side of me were just as cold. I asked if my seat could be moved but it wasn't an option. I asked if they could turn the air conditioning down and after about 15 minutes it seemed more comfortable and the candle flames calmed down so I believe they did. The waitstaff was pleasant and for the most part attentive. Unfortunately the space is large and the acoustics aren't the best. We had a difficult time hearing each other and it seemed as if the others around us were leaning into their conversations as well. I thought it was average considering they advertise as vegetarian/vegan friendly but really are lacking in their selections. Would consider going back if they improved upon their menu choices.

The food here is stellar. Having eaten all over the world, including many overrated and overpriced places, this place feels like a hidden treasure. The staff is incredible, the setting vibe is fun and pretty, but the food is the star. Delectable cheeseboard, best mushroom soup of my life, a risotto to die for, and so on and so on. The offerings are truly unique, nothing you could make on your own, and everything is priced well. This restaurant should be replicated in New York and other venues, it is a Homerun. Loved every bite at The Love.

We love the salmon on the lunch menu--sort of a bowl with grains and vegetables. It is delicious. And they did a great job building little chalets with heat so we could eat outdoors during the pandemic.

Visited The Love with my son for dinner in June and had a lovely evening. The staff was attentive and the decor/vibe was energetic. My son loved the bread service and burger and looks forward to returning sooner than later.

We tried The Love for brunch and we were not disappointed. The space was nice and we ordered drinks while we waited for our friend to arrive. I ordered the Dreamweaver, a delightful bubbly cocktail with elderflower, grapefruit and rosé. It is a great brunch drink. My partner ordered the spicy bloody mary and it was not so spicy and more watery than bloody so not great. Our friend arrived and ordered a mimosa and we were seated. We ordered: Olivia’s cheese ball, the oyster fry, miniature cinnamon bun scones, the lox board, baby buttermilk biscuits and I had the fried chicken and waffle. The food looked great, tasted great for the most part and we had a nice time enjoying the food. The only thing I didn’t care for were the ‘crisps’ with the cheese ball. They were perfectly crispy, tiny slices of bread and it was a bit fiddly to get the cheese on to the them. The ball wasn’t soft enough to dig into with the crisps so one had to use a knife to get the cheese on the crisp – which was the size of my thumbnail, some smaller…so it was like buttering a small crouton. But I managed – no points off for that… The space is bright and nice for brunch and the lively conversation makes for a noisy environment so be prepared. We would definitely go back for brunch at The Love and the food was good enough for me to consider going for lunch and dinner.

Our friends call this restaurant 'a personal favorite' and after sharing a meal with them there, we couldn't agree more. A frosty winter's walk brought us to the doors of this charming place, where we were warmly greeted upon arrival and promptly ushered to a table. We started with an assortment of cheeses, spreads and bread while enjoying a glass of waiter recommended wine. Beet salad, then on to the main course - the shrimp and the short rib pastas, pork chops, all beautifully prepared and very tasty. And did we have room for dessert? Of course! Not to be missed, the skillet cookie/ice cream dish - where dessert dreams begin. It seems to be a busy place, so reservations are a good idea. Dare I say you will Love It? We absolutely did!

Every time we visit Philly we try at least one or two Steven Starr restaurants; we can always trust the quality and experience. The Love was no exception. We loved the Love. In fact, it was our favorite restaurant of our five day visit to Philadelphia. It is well located and it is very lovely inside - a very romantic vibe which we were very pleased with. The service was friendly, attentive and professional. Perfect. The menu was limited but fun. Everything we tried was outstanding.

We loved our evening at The Love to celebrate my birthday. Our waitress was incredibly attentive and made sure I felt appreciated for my birthday dinner. Our food was delicious. Definitely recommend getting the rolls with the chive butter along with whatever soup they have available for an appetizer. You won't regret it.

A chilly and rainy Monday found three of us at The Love for a half business / half personal lunch date. Two Harvest Salads were consumed in their entirety, and enjoyed by both guests. The House Turkey Melt was tasty and of ample size, though the house-made chips which accompanied it were so-so. All three of us felt that the Drop Biscuits were lacking in both size and flavor...though the accompanying flavored butter was a nice touch. Price was reasonable for the location, though the value was judged to be sub par. Environment is noisy, while service was solid. All this being said, we would visit again.

I came here for a quick lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were all extremely attentive and friendly. I had the Salmon Grain Bowl and it was simply divine. Beautiful interior and ambiance. I will definitely return next time I'm in town.

This was our first time in Philadelphia for a conference. The night I arrived, tired from an international flight, I found that my room was not booked correctly and I didn't have a hotel room!!! The staff at the Holiday Inn Express was lovely and found me what must have been the LAST room in Philly... at the Rittenhouse (an amazing venue). Long story short, I ended up staying there for the entire conference. So, the first morning I was up early and was VERY hungry and wanted to walk the city. I literally 'stumbled' on THE LOVE because (1) it was FULL (2) it smelled amazing (3) it seemed very friendly. It was a bit cold outside and all they could offer right away was outside seating but I took it. GLAD I DID. The breakfast was AMAZING, staff was attentive and very friendly and the 30 something crowd (I'm double their age) were so nice - the table next to me brought their dog and he was the lucky recipient of my left over bacon that I simply could not eat another bite of (it was SO GOOD). The menu is engaging - lots of choices and some unusual yet SO TEMPTING. Breakfast was so good, I booked a table for two and took a friend the next night for dinner. You must have reservations - it is a bit loud if that bothers you (I happen to like a warm restaurant with great food and lively talk). Our waiter was wonderful and again, the menu was so engaging. We both were VERY satisfied and loved the place - talked about that dinner during the conference. My only regret - I didn't get back there before I had to leave. We LOVED, THE LOVE!

We didn't have reservations, and they were busy, but the hostess accomodated us with an outside table. Great interesting food

Attentive and friendly service and delicious food. The pumpkin cream is only recommended. For travelers I can recommend it!

Unbelievably creative and delicious food. Great and friendly service. Kudos to Orlando. I love ribs, but not fat. Ordered the ribs and asked for them to be overcooked. Orlando said: "extra crispy?" That was the perfect description and the ribs came out perfect, ie. extra crispy. I've found a new way to order ribs. My wife's salmon was the "best she's ever had." The delicata squash appetizer special was unbelievably good. Looked like onion rings and tasted divine, with cheese inside the fried coated batter. Wow! The staff is attendant while still being unobtrusive. Great place.

This place is COVID ready fully equipped with temperature scanners, hand sanitizer, wipes, and face guards around the bar. Patio dining is available. I opted for a to go order because of the long patio wait. The crab cake was heavy on crab, a little greasy but it was good. The crab cake and bar drink to go suited my needs very well.

The LOVE was great when it opened and just keeps getting better. Thru the pandemic there has now been both inside and outside seating. Food is a foodies delight. Bartender is a cut above. Be sure to ask about a Bourbon special. I just learned there is also a very romantic second floor dining area. No parking. Nice servers.

We went to this restaurant for the second time, almost one year after our first visit. Well once again it was excellent, maybe even better than during our first visit.. Nice athmosphere, good food and friendly staff.

New kid around the block. We stopped for drinks and have been trying to have dinner there ever since. Can't seem to nail the timing right for reservation.

This happened to be close to our hotel so we popped in for appetizers/drinks on our way to the Musical “Six”. Not only we’re they able to accommodate us without a reservation(yes, it was only 5:30pm), but the bar staff could not have been nicer. We split the asparagus soup with goat cheese and their artichoke risotto. Huge portions and the risotto was the BEST I’ve had in awhile!!

So happy I decided to give LOVE a try ;) The drinks, the appetizers, & the main entree were all lovely. The salmon & the love bird chicken were AMAZING! I will definitely be paying this restaurant another visit. Steven Starr has done it again.

This was my first visit to The Love and I found it to be just okay. My husband I went for brunch on a Saturday. We had a reservation, but still had to wait 15 minutes which isn’t a huge deal. The actual space is very pretty and nicely done.. a great atmosphere. The food was fine, but nothing spectacular. My omelette was a little underdone for my taste. Everything seemed to be lacking seasoning. The hush puppies we got before our meal were better than the entrees. If I am going to pay $20 for an egg white omelette, it should be amazing. $6.00 for a small fluted glass of iced coffee also seems excessive.

We had lunch here on a Monday, when other restaurants are closed. It was a great choice! My husband had the shrimp and grits - rich but so delicious. I had the wonderful tomato soup. I also had the Burrata Toast - it included a "side" salad, which was very generous and so delicious: arugula, thinly sliced fennel, blood oranges, regular oranges, radishes, and toasted pistachios with a blood orange vinaigrette. This dish was listed as an appetizer, but it was big enough for a meal for me. Beautiful presentation, delicious food, great service.

My wife and I wanted a light lunch in pleasant surroundings before departing for our early evening flight. We arrived about 1230 and it was already packed. We got one of the last two remaining tables. The restaurant was noisy due to people talking, the music was low and non-intrusive. We were seated in a small "alcove", inside, near the entrance. I was surprised by the hostess asking for my name as it served no purpose I could discern. We both chose a chicken salad which came with a small hard ciabatta “stick” covered with lemon flavoured goats cheese. The salad comprised several types of lettuce leaf, grapes, almonds and of course chicken. It was refreshing, the chicken was tender and succulent. I had a glass of a local white wine, gruner veltliner which was good, dry and not sweet. It was a very enjoyable meal as it quietened down towards the end.

I made a reservation here based off so many positive reviews. Boy, were they right on target, this place is everything that and more! The Love décor is intimate and romantic. The small, candlelit round two top tables are the perfect size for date night. Our server, Bradley, was professional and engaging. He had the correct balance of checking in with us and letting us enjoy our meals. For dinner I decided on the half rack o’ ribs. Delicious!! The ribs were so tender the meat just fell off the bone. They were prepared with a brown sugar glaze, tomato & corn salad, cornbread and honey butter. The honey butter was one of the best things ever. I believe this honey butter would make an old shoe tasty. My boyfriend decided on the salmon. This salmon was thick and meaty came on a bed of quinoa, roasted squash and tzatziki. He enjoyed each and every bite and thought it was some of the best salmon he ever tasted. Next time we are in the area we definitely will be back!

This restaurant, recommended by Vittoria of The Dwight D Hotel, really hit the mark! The food, drinks and service were outstanding, as well as the ambiance. Our server Danielle, was attentive and friendly and made us feel like we were the only customers there that night. Although it was a bustling Saturday night, you would have never known it, which was much appreciated by my husband and I on our wedding anniversary. We had a very memorable night at The Love restaurant, thank you.

We had walked by The Love for months saying we should give it a try. We regularly go to other Starr restaurants in Philadelphia. Last weekend we finally made a reservation for lunch and walked over for Sunday brunch. The place is larger than appears from outside and it was crowded shortly before noon with families and couples and groups of friends. The reason for the crowd is pretty simple: great brunch with ample portions at fair prices with intelligent service. I had the truffled scrambled eggs with crispy potatoes and sides of biscuits and bacon. Potatoes were the best breakfast potatoes I have had in the city, right amount of onions and peppers. My companion had one of the omelets and was likewise impressed. His only qualm was that the Bloody Mary was more spicy than he would have preferred. Next visit will be for dinner.

Shared the fried chicken and beet salad… very big portions and delicious. White meat chicken wasn’t dry at all. Drinks good.

I had the Nashville chicken with toast and potatoes it was top notch atmosphere was great service was great plus I felt like I was still in nyc fire recommended

We had an outstanding lunch at The Love on a busy Friday mid-December. Really nice dining area and very welcoming with friendly and professional service. We started with warm Parker House with chive butter. Very light and good. My entree was salmon with sticky rice and veg. Excellent! But wife hit a grand slam with what she said might be the best thing she's eaten all year, and it's December. Meyer Lemon risotto with grilled artichoke and crushed pistachio. She was right about how good it was. Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful meal the other night at The Love. The service was very friendly and polite. The managers checked on us a few times to make sure we were satisfied. This was a very nice touch. The food was amazing. We had the salmon and brisket entrées. We loved our meals. We noticed the cheese plate that many people ordered, and it looked fantastic. We ate indoors. The atmosphere was very nice and classy. They also have outdoor seating on the street that are in well constructed sidewalk buildings with heat. We will be back. Enjoy.

Had a really great dinner. Everything was delicious. Service was good. Vibe was lively. Save room for dessert. The carrot cake was scrumptious!

First off, make a reservation. This place seems to be pretty popular and hard to get a table at peak times. As for when you go, we went at a peak time and it was LOUD. Seriously, we couldn't hear the waitress. It didn't help being stuck at a table between two tables of the loudest people in the restaurant, one of which appeared to be self-important people lingering over lots of drinks for a long time. All that said, the staff was friendly and appear to genuinely like the cuisine they are serving. The food itself was excellent, if not a little pricey. I got the scallops which were perfectly cooked. My friend got the fried chicken and it was incredible. We also had the cheese board for an appetizer and there were some very tasty selections.

I took my boyfriend to dinner for his birthday last night. We went to The Love and the food was amazing! The greens and black eyed peas reminded me of my grandmothers house on New Year’s Day! The salmon was impeccably cooked and seasoned. I will definitely be returning back to The Love soon. This is a great special occasion place. Only downside is that it was super busy and a little noisy. Overall great resturant!

We had an excellent dinner & our waiter Maro was wonderful in this chic bistro type setting. The salmon and curry seabass entrees were perfectly cooked. The collard greens side dish was the best ever. We will definitely look forward to returning to The Love.

We sat in a cozy corner booth and enjoyed the holiday ambience indoors. They also have outdoor seating but it is December and chilly. I had a "bowl" with salmon and lots of vegetables. My husband had the mushroom soup. All delicious and generous portions. Excellent waitstaff too.

The Love definitely has excellent food but having been there for brunch and dinner, i prefer the brunch over dinner. Maybe its that the menu tries too hard to find another level, which I commend. I had the fried chicken, thought it was good, but not super great. My wife had the smoked branzino, huge fish, deboned, but a different preparation. I'll be back for sure, but likely for lunch.

The Love ties together great cuisine, excellent service, and a romantic atmosphere. Spent a night in the city of Philadelphia to celebrate my wife’s birthday. We so many restaurants in the area, we chose The Love. And we were glad this was the place we picked. Food came out fast. We ordered The Parker House rolls w/chive butter. Our entrees were The Lovebird & Ricotta Ravioli. Both equally delicious. Highly recommend The Love.

Very good restaurant. Waiter was very accommodating. White sangria was excellent. I had the pasta which was fine. Husband had signature chicken dish. He enjoyed it but I didn't. They gifted a very small cube of cake for each of us for my husband's birthday which was kind. The meal was fine, but I doubt if I'd return on next visit. Nothing extraordinary.

Went in with y wife tonight for the first time. Walked in for 5:30 reservation and were seated immediately. Greeted by our server Dylan who was prompt and professional. Had the "Broken Arrow" Margarita that was on the special drinks list (a little sweet but good) and my wife had a Grey Goose Martini with hand stuffed blue cheese olives...Fantastic!!! Split the Beet salad which was great. My wife ordered the salmon and I ordered the Cacio e Pepe with seared scallops and shrimp. Our entrees were amazing. We both commented that both dishes were as good as we've had anywhere in a long time. The very friendly and accommodating Manager, Seth, checked in on us a couple times and brought some pastry for us to taste at the end. Great experience across the board, cant wait to return!!!

Had a holiday lunch with my co-workers, and everything was outstanding. Squash soup and seafood chowder were both excellent. Cheese plate and brussel sprouts were too. Nice entree selections, including vegetarian options. I had a perfectly cooked salmon on top of a tasty salad. Veggie risotto and turkey melt were too — at least, so I hear. Didn’t steal any of my colleagues meals though. Friendly and attentive service. Highly recommended.

Great date night - food was delicious- we shared 2 appetizers and an entree and loved it all (especially the salmon with curry). A couple nice NA drinks. Wait staff was great. Wish we could go again tonight and try more choices off the menu!

This is a cozy place and you feel welcome when you step in the door. Service was excellent and the food is great. The menu is just the right size with choices for everyone without having so much that it overwhelms. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly and delicious: the photos on this page don't do the food justice. The "eat your vegetables" crudite' with dip is too beautiful to eat. Quite the display of garden veggies. Other items were also yummy. Save room for desert: also very good (served with three spoons for everyone at the table if you like!) Make reservations: this gets busy at dinner even mid-week.

Downtown Philadelphia near Rittenhouse Squire is hopping in a Sunday afternoon but this restaurant stands out from the crowd. From the moment you walk in the hostess makes you feel like you belong. The waiter let us leisurely sit and peruse the memo and even gave some great recommendations! Bloody Mary’s were perfect and the frittatas were robust. The potatoes hands down melted in your mouth. Even though it is a side on your dish, you can’t just eat just one!

Ate dinner here for first time while visiting town. The space was cramped and noisy. The service was not terribly friendly but was efficient. The food was good but a bit overpriced. My husband had the branding and I had the salmon. Would not rush back.

I enjoyed a wonderful brunch at The Love and can’t wait to return for dinner. The eggs were perfectly cooked -- all dishes and cocktails were great. There were smiles all around! How can you not love The Love?!

The Love Is EVERYTHING I hoped it would be! I decided I wanted my entry point to be Brunch! I am glad because ’The Love’ made my day! My drink choice was the Whiskey Sour cocktail…it was too off w/Red wine….Delicious is an understatement…it had a richness and complexity! Our starter was the drop biscuits…the chive butter made it sing..the biscuits I wish was more flaky…the consistency reminded me more of a muffin! Our main dishes…Shrimp and Grits and the Posh Brunch! The Shrimp & Grits had this amazing sauce that could be a stand alone dipping sauce! The Posh Brunch dish had scrambled eggs..potatoes and toast! The service was outstanding and the atmosphere was a chill vibe! I will definitely return to try the dinner menu!

Went with my aunt for cocktails and dinner after shopping in Rittenhouse. The food was very good and the I tried the champagne cocktail which was perfect! Can’t wait to go back.

We have been here multiple times for brunch, lunch and dinner and it has always been wonderful. Today’s lunch burger was terrific and the shrimp was sublime but the best part was the frozen rose. Can’t wait to go back.

This place is perfect. The food is amazing. The service is outstanding. Also, the place has a great atmosphere.

The food here is very good, as is the service. For dinner, we shared the tuna crudo, very fresh, and the hush puppies, rich and sweet. For entrees, we had the salmon with a green goddess sauce and the perfectly seasoned pork chops. For lunch, we shared the beet salad, excellent, and I had a hamburger while my friend had a tuna melt. We shared the chocolate chip dessert. The portions are huge so 3 courses for each person is probably too much food.

Fantastic restaurant in the centre of Philly. Lively downstairs but more relaxed upstairs. Food was excellent and the quality was fantastic. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The burrata had the freshest salad and a tasty dressing, the pork with apples was amazing

Sitting at the doorstep of Rittenhouse Square from Aimee Olexy and Stephen Starr is The Love. It is a beautiful dining destination with a warm ambience. With impeccable, personable, and friendly service they shined throughout service. Each meal was explained and served with care. So you ask what about the food? Well that’s where they definitely showed THE LOVE. I enjoyed the meal as everything was delicious and would certainly return. Below listed is what I had: Salted Halibut croquettes Summer Corn Soup with coconut milk, lemongrass, miso, crispy rice noodles, and togarashi spice and this was the highlight of the meal. REALLY GOOD! Love Bird which is buttermilk fried chicken over comeback sauce, buttery Georgia grits, braised collard greens, and a side of steak fries. True Love which was strawberry shortcake sundae, strawberries, poppy, and buttermilk ice cream

I visited for the first time with my husband and another couple. Among us we had fried chicken, salmon, shrimp and scallop pasta, ravioli, Parker house rolls, chocolate chip cookie, wine and mocktails. We were 100% happy with all of it. My only complaint is the overhead music was too loud. The restaurant was full. The music was too much.

My husband and I went to The Love in December, as part of a pre-Christmas outing to do some shopping and enjoy the lights of the city. We went to The Love on a recommendation and it is now one of our new favorites! First of all, the team who works there are extremely friendly, accommodating, and helpful. In addition, the atmosphere is modern but cozy with great lighting. We completely ate more than we should have as portions were large but it was worth it as the food was delicious! We started with the Mushroom Toast (everything was shared) with an add on of fresh truffles grated over it. Then we had pasta, again with fresh truffles grated over it, and moved to sharing a fish meal that was perfectly cooked. The team there did a great job of assisting us in picking a meal that was great for sharing and the perfect wine to drink with it. We did not have dessert however as we were about to leave we were handed complimentary cookies to share later. They were amazing too! I highly recommend this restaurant. It is in a great location, easy to walk to if you are staying downtown, and it is perfect for any kind of meal - couples, family, friends, business, or even solo.

Let's get this over with: The restaurant is waaaay too loud. (The last time we were there, Covid forced use of outdoor seating.) I was unable to hear the person sitting across the small table from me. In fact, as good as this place is otherwise, I'd be reluctant to return . . . it was that noisy. Otherwise, the service was great (thank you, Monica). The food was delicious: baby back ribs, fried chicken (each portion enough for two normal people), duck stir fry, tuna crudo, burrata salad . . . all yum! Decent corkage fee ($25/bottle) and a limited wine list otherwise. But SO loud.

I enjoyed my food, although the fruit in my salad was too hard, should have been riper. My dining partner did not enjoy his meal. Service was terrific. Restaurant was very loud. Would not return with more than 1 person because of this.

Had dinner at The Love last night. It is a lovely space, great neighborhood , lively but not too loud. Great service from our waiter Robert, who was friendly and helpful with suggestions. Appetizers included the lobster spaghetti (also available in entree size portion), Caesar salad, and a mushroom dish served over toast. All were great but the spaghetti was awesome with home made taste of the pasta and fresh chunks of lobster with a bisque like sauce. For main courses 2 of us had scallops, served over stir fry veggies with a satay style sauce. Very good, with the sauce flavorful but not so heavy to hide the fresh seafood. My wife had a halibut dish dish that was delicious, served over baby bok choy. My son had their fried chicken served with a dish a grits garnished with jalapeno. It was moist with a crunchy coating served on a great sauce. The grits were creamy and delicious. We split 2 desserts, the vanilla pudding that had cherry and fig in it and a butterscotch brownie topped with butterscotch ice cream. Both left us wanting more! Overall, a great dining experience.

The place is beautiful. The staff was wonderful. I had one of the best meals of my life. The bronzine fish with pearl couscous was fabulous. If you are in Philly and want a great meal go to The Love

Excellent casual brunch please-fun cocktails-savory and sweet yummy offerings-friendly service-can’t wait to go back again!

Food was great and and service was better. If you go, ask for Jess, she was an absolute delight. Fried green tomatoes were 10 out of 10. Perfectly prepared, crispy with great breading and pimento cheese on the side. Yum We also had the broccoli omelettes which were cooked to perfection and delicious. Highly recommended. Great example of what happens when well prepared food meets exceptional service. Would definitely eat here again.

I wanted to love The Love. I expected to love the Love. But the flavors were blended together and indistinguishable. Hot sauces dominated vegetables. Desserts were not memorable. Wine pourings were light. And the prices were high. The atmosphere, however, had a lovely hum and the service was very good.

The service was outstanding. We were a group of six and everyone's meal was outstanding. The restaurant is a relaxing place to have a really nice dinner. You will not be disappointed.

Had dinner here with my wife, and it was a very enjoyable meal. Food was very good, service was superb. Two issues marred the experience - my entree came out lukewarm, and the prices are high for what they provide. As an example, the cheese board is overpriced, and my rigatoni and short rib was similarly high in price considering the amount of short rib on the plate.

This restaurant struck us as very much geared to those who want to see and be seen. It was very noisy and crowded, and the food was just ok. Nothing remarkable but nothing negative either. They did do a nice job bringing a dessert to mark my daughters birthday. The coffee was good. The omelette was smaller than I expected. They have a single stall bathroom which means there’s always a line. Not planning to return because I didn’t find it comfortable for the price point.

The love is an upscale restaurant that's has a laid back casual vibe, food was excellent, I had the salmon and my husband had the pork. The soup was also delicious. Good value for what you got.

Really great service , fantastic waitress. Food was excellent, one of us had chicken , one salmon. Just a really nice feel. Sat outside, watched the world go by

Gorgeous, romantic ambience, fantastic service (our terrific waitress was Danielle) and delicious food. Great location adjacent to beautiful Rittenhouse Square and Walnut Street shops. Highly recommended!

The food is extraordinary, served with a flair. The Berkshire pork chop was perfectly cooked, with nice potato and carrot sides. Same with the fried chicken and grits, the salmon and and shrimp/scallop curry. John was a wonderful waiter. Tables are a little on the 'cozy' side, so if that sort of thing freaks you out, check in with them ahead of time. But please check this place out...it's wonderful.

Excellent brunch! Lots of delicious items on the menu and unique items as well. Had the truffle eggs which were amazing! Try a Frose too! 😋

Friendly, efficient service at this lovely Rittenhouse Square spot. Good home style food with delicious combinations of local ingredients. Rosemary kettle chips with fondue, salmon skewer salad, eggplant portobella parmesan and pickled things make for a perfect lunch for two.

As per the title. Randomly found through TA. Valid location in downtown Philadelphia. Available large indoor rooms plus tables on the street in summer. Nice furnishings, order and overall cleanliness of very good standard. Good reception and also precise and friendly service. Balanced and varied menu. Raw material ok. Well prepared dishes. From laude meat and especially lamb. Average prices (local) RECOMMENDATION.

Smallish, varied, interesting menu with something for almost any taste. We had the tuna crudo w/ avocado, lime, rice crisps, black garlic & kimchee dressing; fried brussels sprouts w/ Asian pears & walnuts; honey brined pork chop; and pulled brisket fazzoletti (handkerchief pasta). All were excellent All seating is currently outside within a perimeter of barriers. We chose a table at the corner of the building, near the corner of the block. There are signs to keep pedestrians from cutting though, but they do it anyway, sometimes in large groups, right where we were sitting. We didn't feel all that safe with COVID. Our server talked to her manager and they immediately moved us to another (safer) table.

I had a really good experience here. I read the reviews and they seemed to be a little mixed on price, quality, and service. We ordered a ton of food and felt the price was in line with other restaurants in this category. We ordered the fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese and the butternut squash soup. The tomatoes were alright. We didn’t feel they were anything special. We weren’t fans of the pimento cheese. The soup, however, was phenomenal. Then we had the spaghetti and lobster and the braised veal pasta dish. Both pasta dishes were delicious. I’d highly recommend those. After that, we tried the scallops in saffron sauce and the fried chicken. Scallops were good, but not special. The chicken was VERY good. Last we had the pumpkin head for dessert and a little salted caramel cookie. The pumpkin sundae was SO DELICIOUS. If you go, do get this! Our server was great. She actually noticed that we didn’t eat much of the fried tomatoes and took it off the bill before she even brought it to us. We thought that was awesome that she was that attentive. We wouldn’t have even said anything! Some people complained about the noise level, but we thought it was fine. It was 9pm on a Saturday night and we didn’t notice a particularly loud level of noise at all. It was a great overall experience, and we will definitely go back.

I live in Rittenhouse Square.. so I live less than a block away from this spot. It’s food is good. The service is great, but there are so many better options in the area that I would try many other places first. This is my lowest option of the Starr restaurants.

Really amazing food. Had brisket and sweet corn pasta, husband had buttermilk fried chicken and both were amazing. Service fast and friendly

Everyone is going to The Love. Food is modern and excellent but if your looking for a great cocktail this is the place to go. Bar isn’t very big but it’s always busy because the bar tenders know what they are doing. Try their Bourbon specials!

I took my niece here to celebrate her graduation based upon an article recommending best restaurants in Philly. I couldn’t have been more pleased! The atmosphere is cozy, the staff extremely attentive and the food was delicious. We both had the Rigatoni Short Rib and cobbler. I love to eat out (do so often & travel often) read reviews to select good places and highly recommend The Love! Yummy!

We went to The Love with friends with great anticipation, but were sorely disappointed. The main complaint was that the noise level was so high that we almost stopped trying to hold a conversation. I felt claustrophobic from the wall of sound! Beyond that, we also were disappointed by the food. The fried chicken reminded me of what I used to get in my school cafeteria, and the other dishes were pretty pedestrian. The wine list was good, as long as you didn't mind paying a lot for a bottle; nothing much in a 'moderate' price range. For the privilege of a rather unpleasant experience we paid a lot of money, adding a "grace note" to the evening.

We went to this restaurant following the recommendation from the hotel concierge since we asked for something not too far and we can simply state that the recommendation was excellent. We really enjoyed being at this restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and had a nice and relaxing evening. Our food was great and the service was perfect

Second time I had diner here. Like last time they surprised me with some great food. Service was flexible and on a high level. We really appreciated it

Very good restaurant , really TOP friendly , good dishes e.g. perfect Fried Chicken but also pasta and fresh soups .

We went to the restaurant for a special occasion and they didn't fail. The service was excellent, and food choices, presentation and taste were all excellent. Drinks were pretty good too. And overall, for everything we ate and drank and the quality of it all, i thought it was very reasonably priced. As our group was bigger than 4 people, they put us outside in what felt like a private little booth - it was a great spot. Would definitely go back again.

we had a delicious dinner at this hopping spot on a Friday night in Philadelphia. We called over and were able to get a last-minute reservation. When we arrived, there are a number of people waiting for a table and we seated pretty quickly. The ambience is relaxed. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Conversation and music buzzing inside made it a little hard to hear. There were many intriguing drinks and menu options. I ordered a delicious Mocktail, Clean Livin. I had the tofu steak and a side of cornbread, which was delicious went to the bathroom and Digable Planets was playing. The whole vibe was very cool. Great dinner. I highly recommend.

My bf and I had a not-so-great experience at another of the Starr group's restaurants, and Aimee Olexy ensured that our next experience at a Starr restaurant would be great. It was! Service from both the manager, Aaron, and our server, Veronica, was just awesome. Thoughtful without being intrusive. Informative without being verbose. We shared all of our courses and started with the Salmon poke (pictured). It was both visually beautiful and delicious! The salmon was SO tender...it melted in our mouths. The star of this dish (aside from the rainbow radishes) was the Hawaiian sea salt. It racheted up all the flavors to the next level with very minimal use. We also had the Fig Caesar salad, Chicken liver mousse and mushroom toast. All were delicious (and generous) portions. We shared the Caesar and glad we did...each portion was plenty. The mousse was both decadent and light. Absolutely delicious! The mushroom toast was something to relish on a cold January evening. It was very comforting! Our shared entree was the Hot and Sour Halibut (also pictured) which was sublime. The broth was amazing and the fish was prepared perfectly. The (Asian) flavor combinations were really well balanced. For dessert, my bf n-e-e-d-e-d the s'mores sundae. It didn't disappoint him. He had a....moment. We brought a fav bottle of wine with us, and the $25 corkage fee is pretty standard here in Philly. The restaurant was such a fun and lively experience for us. We had an awesome table and I've read reviews that people have found it noisy. It is not. If you want quiet, stay home. If you want to be in an environment eating delicious food, surrounded by life, please book a table at The Love.

Had dinner at The Love and it was excellent. We had homemade Ravioli (it is made daily upstairs) and Crispy Branzino with veggies over couscous. This may have been to best meal we had in Philly and that’s high praise as it’s quite a foodie town. Had I been in town longer, I would have made a return visit.

The mushroom appetizer is delicious. Sommelier will make wine recommendations. Had the Croze-Hermitage on the menu recommended and was glad we did. Fried chicken is not greasy. and good. Roasted broccoli is good. Steak dinner was a good GF selection. Small bar but may be nice to have a drink there. Tip: Go to Tria next door for a glass of wine and small appetizers before your dinner. Makes for a nice evening.

Local friends brought us here when visiting from NJ and wow what a great meal- everything we tried was creative and delicious- the atmosphere is really special and hope to return

I went here with my family for a birthday brunch. They were so friendly and accomodating to our group. The food was delicious and we loved the plating. They even brought out a little birthday treat for us at the end.

What a treat! The atmosphere and food are top notch. You will want to be here for awhile. The hospitality that is lacking at the front door shouldn’t stop you, because the great service and outstanding food is worth pushing forward. The menu is a little hard to read, small, and on the back of the drink menu. Enjoy a healthy and hearty meal here. You won’t regret it.

Stopped in for a quick drink and a snack on my birthday. Beautiful interior, friendly bartender and excellent drinks. Very well done across the board.

The food was delicious and the service was great. Excellent and substantial duck salad, and grilled salmon with outstanding sauce and bulgur wheat.

We tried to make a reservation here on Saturday morning for that evening. While they didn't have anything available, the hostess told me to try Open Table throughout the day because people often cancel. Sure enough, I tried again around 4 pm and was able to get in. We are so glad we did! The food was delicious, in particular, the pasta with ricotta cheese, the warm rolls, Brussel sprouts, ribs and Bronzino, and the pumpkin head dessert. Our server was very attentive and helpful. We were very impressed because although we had booked a table for two, our son and friend were coming to have a drink with us for an hour. They happily gave us a table for four. All of the staff were very helpful. We couldn't find our umbrellas in the vestibule, and someone came out to help us. The ambience was very warm and welcoming, and unlike other reviewers, we didn't think it was noisy. I highly recommend this restaurant and we hope to return soon!

My husband and I came here for a birthday celebration. We chose to sit inside. They placed us in the back in a cozy spot by the window which is great for people watching as well as

Wandered around looking for a place for dinner and did we get lucky. Outstanding food and service. Would go back any time.

Delicious lunch and dessert at this beautiful restaurant! Staff are nice and super efficient! I would hIghly recommend the butternut squash & honey crisp soup as well as the kale risotto! The pumpkin dessert was amazing.

Where is the love? It’s here. A thriving spot for dinner and cocktails. USA classics reinvented. I am from Australia and loved trying the grits, plus the Brussel sprouts. Plain sounding food made extraordinary!

The hostesses and servers did everything in their power to seat us and feed us as promptly as possible. It's a bit pricey, but the food is delicious, as is the service. You can't go wrong at this restaurant.

The decor at The Love is really fun. We sat at the downstairs bar, which is a little small, but perfect for after-work or late night drinks. The bar staff are very friendly and craft delicious cocktails. There are some fun options on the menu, and the staff are more than willing to help you pick out something you'd like.

We keep walking by and peering in so today we went in for lunch. The atmosphere and staff are great. Managers have a handle on the dining room and it is obvious. We ordered two salad bowls. My husband ordered the salmon skewers (with brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes and other good things. salmon was perfectly cooked. salad was excellent. I know because I had menu envy. I ordered a chicken salad and it was ok. The dressing had no taste so all i tasted were salad greens, almonds, grapes and some nicely cooked chicken. I would punch up the dressing with something interesting and tasty. I will order the salmon skewers next time. I give them a 4 but is really a 2 for the chicken salad and a 5 for the salmon.

Eight friends visited for the first time and we all gave is double thumbs up. Has a nice vibe to it, wait staff was very competent, manager visited our table a few times to make sure everything was perfect and the food was amazing! Apps we had was the bread, Brussels sprouts and veggie plate - all fresh, nicely displayed. Dinner ranged from scallops, ribs, risotto, salmon and sea bass. All was well presented, good portions and very tasty. And we saved room for two pumpkin type desserts - they were both delicious. Oh and the wine was tasty and good selection, best part was that that our per head price was extremely reasonable. We will be back!

My wife and I were DT Phila for the day, and The Love was reccomend when we were looking to end the day with a drink. We parked ourselves at a high table in the bar area and had a couple of cocktails and some food. I had the raviolis and my wife had spaghetti with lobster. Our meals were very tasty. We walked in the dinning area and was impressed with how it's arranged. It's a very welcoming experience, and we will be back to have a full dinning experience.

We enjoyed the food and service so much that we returned three times and were pleased with the experience every time. The frozen Rose cocktail is a must, while everything they served was delicious. We can't wait to return to Philly and The Love.

Was excited because of the great rating—- but disappointed. We had reservations for 7pm and showed up a little early- ended up not being seated until 720, because I preferred an inside table. The Buffalo Cauliflower was tempura with Buffalo sauce. Something you could get at Applebee’s. The seared scallops with asparagus.- collegiate at best. We also tried the tuna “cruda” it was sashimi. Call it sashimi. Very basic. Nothing special. However- the ambiance and service was great, Shannon our server was very nice- (busy). But I wouldn’t recommend. Expensive and meh.

We decided on The Love while walking past on a Saturday afternoon...from the outside looking in, the place looked super cute, comfortable, and a buzz. The atmosphere is somewhat farmhouse chic. We didn't have any wait and got a great little table by the window. Shawn was our server and she provided flawless service. She had a pleasant demeanor and extensive knowledge of the menu. She was always eager to help! Now, I'm southern, so when I noticed the menu had a few southern inspired dishes, I was intrigued to try out a northern attempt at southern food. The Love did not disappoint. The fried green tomatoes with whipped pimento cheese were amazing. The shrimp and grits were great - I was surprised at how well they did grits! This dish is rich, but I knew what I was getting myself into. My husband had a turkey sandwich and it was quite good. I also wanted a vanilla iced coffee and Shawn went out of her way to make it happen. All in all an excellent experience and I'd "love" to come back! (Side note to the manager - the hostess needed an attitude adjustment. She was as snooty when we left as she was when we were being greeted. An otherwise great experience though, thanks to Shawn and your chefs!)

I went on a Friday for lunch with a friend from work. The interior is lovely and our waiter was awesome. We split the cheeseball which was amazing. The size was perfect to share with 1 or 2 people. It’s an appetizer so if you eat a lot, don’t share. It was served on top of fig preserves. Look it up to get all the ingredients. It was all that. My entree was the Eggplant Parmesan Portobello sandwich. perfect size for potion control. My friend got the chicken salad salad with a lot of healthy ingredients check out the menu. She loved it and ate every bite. The salad was a healthy size. We plan to go back and select different entries.

I'm a long-time member of the clean-plate club. Not today. Not at The Love. Not good enough to finish? No, and that's my sadness. The food was so good I really wanted to finish. They gave me too much of good things. It started with the tuna crudo. The presentation was the best ever, and that is saying a lot. As for taste, OMG. Cleaned the plate; record intact. I had to have A nibble n my wife's mushroom soup. It included an ingredient I had not tasted before in mushroom soup. WOW! Then came my Tennessee hot chicken. Totally delish . . . but I think I'm getting full. Can't let it go to waste! But there's n o m o r e r o o m. And that was that. I could almost have wept. I'll be back!!!

Nice atmosphere at this centrally located American restaurant in Philly. The Love offers a limited selection of starters and main courses, which I actually appreciate — focusing on fewer dishes allows for faster service and consistent quality. That said, a meat option would be a welcome addition for us carnivores. The wine list is well-curated, featuring a good mix of American, French, Italian, and South American labels. Overall, I recommend this place for a casual, laid-back dinner.

Just had an amazing dinner at this restaurant. Decor was very nice, staff was beyond great. Food, no words, delicious. Definitely put it on your dining list.

We shared a variety of dishes including hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, shrimp and grits, and waffles. It was a great place for brunch with friends, eating slowly and relaxing over coffee, drinks and good food.

We had reservations and were seated immediately at our request. Server was professional and helpful. I had the best mixed tequila drink I ever had: The Broken Arrow. All three in my party loved this restaurant and I am looking forward to returning.

I was the guest of three people who work nearby. I was staying at the Palomar, just a block away. The menu seemed to me to have many wonderful choices for vegetarians. I had the crispy duck salad, which was wonderful and included a whole duck leg and thigh. I had the Asian spice haddock for my entree. It was mildly spicy and very moist. My colleagues had the scallops, fried chicken, and salmon. I wished we had shared some of the appetizers. They looked delicious. The presentation of each dish was impressive. Clearly, presentation is very important at this restaurant. I found the booth to be a little crowded for four people. The service was excellent. I would definitely go back.

We'd been traveling all day by the time we arrived for dinner (no lunch, famished) and we were thrilled to get The Love's absolutely delicious cheese plate to start. The assortment of cheeses was delicious plus the various jams and nuts to accompany were equally well thought out and tasty. Entree we each had a different fish prep, also very tasty. Space has a really great vibe, service was excellent.

We were a walk-in 2 top on a rainy Thursday evening. We arrived shortly before 5pm and were greeted by a friendly hostess who made us feel welcomed! This right there set the tone of the evening. Right at 5 pm we were seated at a cozy table for 2. The server was professional, knowledgeable, personable and has a good sense of humor. She and the other staff all worked together by clearing plates and glasses. This shows good teamwork. The food was delicious. I had a non-alcoholic Aperol Spritz and my husband had rum punch. We started with the Parker House Rolls with Chive Butter. I can not recommend this enough. Order this! I had the Plant Power entree and I almost asked for another plate. My husband had the ricotta ravioli and he also mentioned he wanted another plate. We passed on dessert and it all sounded delicious. The restaurant was beautiful, the music fit the atmosphere, the service was 5 stars and the food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

The food is bursting with flavor. Shrimp and grits = phenomenal. This is a great place to eat. The customer service I received from Monica was excellent!

I can hardly say enough good things about The Love. Starting at the beginning, the space was beautiful, if a bit loud (my only issue with it). The staff were wonderful, attentive and friendly, and our server Nick may well have been the best waiter over ever had in my life. As for the food... again it's, just WOW. The presentation was elegant, and the taste combinations were ones neither my date nor I had ever experienced before. Dessert managed to top even dinner, presenting us with the totally unexpected sensations of a savoury sundae and a sweet balsamic ice cream. We'll absolutely be back.

This seemed the perfect place for a small family catch-up over the holidays. And we loved the food. Shared appetizers (mushroom toast and crudité) went perfectly with beautifully executed cocktails. And our main courses of kale risotto, fish curry and ravioli delighted each who ordered it. The wine list is well thought out and not exorbitant. But the noise level, as other reviews have pointed out, ruins any attempt at conversation. As people at all tables raise their voices to be heard, the collective effect is chaos, especially when the acoustics mean you can hear a conversation 2 tables away better than the person next to you. The night we were there was one where they were clearly backed up. Many people were at the bar waiting for tables getting up occasionally to ask the hostess when theirs might be ready. We waited more than 25 minutes past our reservation to be seated, standing the whole time as there was no room to sit at the bar. Obviously, this happens but one hopes for more than a perfunctory ‘oh sorry about that’ from the management.

Huge Portions of delicious food. Consider ordering family style. Our table had a little of everything but I went all southern food -- with a twist. Never would I have thought to put miso and ginger in collards but they were soooo good. The fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese were excellent and the fried chicken was juicy and tender. The only thing I didn't love were the cheesey grits, they were tasty but too dense. We ate late and sat outside, on a Wednesday, so the noise wasn't too bad. I would go back for sure!

The Love is our favorite Philly eatery. It's a bit pricey but the food is excellent and portions are plentiful so that we usually split the main dish. We always order the Froze Rose and walk out happy. The tomato soup was to kill for. We lunched twice this trip and we will surely be back in about a year.

We loved the food and ambience here. All the dishes we ordered were very great and presented very well. The wait staff are extremely courteous and ensured we had a wonderful meal.
"Love"d the food and service
This place is outstanding. We hung out with a group of friends and everyone loved it. We ordered three appetizers for the table, the exotic mushroom toast, the labor of love (artisan cheese plate), and the whistle stop fried green tomatoes. Everyone loved all of it. The star for me was the fried green tomatoes, simply amazing. I had the love bird (fried chicken, grits, and collard greens). The chicken was as advertised. I am not generally a fan of chicken breast. However, there is a first time for everything. My wife had the halibut. She thought it ok (but she very much enjoyed everything else). Our server, Robert (Rob), was very personable and attentive. The drinks were also phenomenal. Very much looking forward to a return visit.
