We were shopping with all of the other tourists and lucked upon The Market. We decided to sit at the bar to avoid the wait for outside tables. The waitstaff really enjoyed interacting with customers and went to great detail to be sure the orders were perfect. Our food was delicious...if we lived in SF, we'd definitely go back.

this place has been open for ages now and every time I go a section of it is closed. In front (near the market street entrance) there's a coffee shop with some breakfast options and a nice seating area with natural light. the coffee is very good and a small is only $2.50. then there's a very overpriced supermarket with a salad bar and hot bar for grab and go items. In the back there is a huge area for several different restaurants to have outposts, and every single time I've gone most (if not all of them) are closed. It would be such a great spot if the hours of operation made more sense...

Little muss or fuss accompanies a quick trip to the Market near the nexus of Hayes and Market streets in San Francisco. Close to public transportation and several hotels serving domestic and international visitors, the market features food counters and bars that offer salad fixings, Mexican food, desserts, pizza and breads and also grocery items, fresh fruits, vegetables and packaged foods such as crackers. The food is fresh and healthy; the prices may be a bit high; and the staff are welcoming and prompt in their service. When I travel on business to San Francisco and want an easy dinner in my room, the Market is my destination.

If you are in the area this is a great place to pick up your organic veggies or some craft beers. There is a full salad bar and deli as well. The prices are rather high but the presentation makes for a nice experience.

The Market has everything you could ask for from a food perspective....you could eat there everyday! Delicious and fresh, it is completely addicting. So many choices the hardest thing is deciding. Highly recommend!

Great place to grab lunch, especially if everyone wants something different. There were so many choices. We ate at Azalina's and it was delicious. Nice outdoor seating area in the back. We would definitely stop here again.

Great market with lots to choose from, snacks, drinks, oysters, market goods etc We visited the market bar - very friendly atmosphere and well, worth a visit for the array of gun and vodka behind the bar to choose from. Geoff the barman was very welcoming and friendly

We had just left the musical at the Orpheum Theatre on Saturday and wanted a fun place for happy hour and appetizers. Surprisingly, we found it in the Market at the Twitter building ground floor. At the Japanese corner, we had great sake and sparking wine. Oysters $1.50 per, delicious tuna handrolls and sashimi crudo. Fun corner to watch all the tourists mixed with locals walking their dogs. Enjoy!

As food courts go, you may be surprised by the Market on Market Street! You can find a hearty buffet, fancy groceries and sit down eateries here. They are open on Saturday and weekdays for the busy corporate neighbors and people who enjoy good quality food. I tried it for the first time for a lunch break with friend and colleague. We explored but chose to dine at Sushi Oyster Bar. The fish was fresh and oishi! On Saturday, I tried the Market Cafe that offers coffee and tea with decadent baked goods such as croissants, vegan donuts and gluten free bagels. I highly recommend The Market on Market Street for their food and convenient location.

This reminded me of Whole Foods. There is a wide selection and variety of food. You pick a plate, put in your food, and take it to the cashier. You can take the food to go or eat at the location. There are several tables and chairs. After, you can also go around and shop for food items. There are other restaurant stalls if you don't like the buffet type selection. Organic Coup, Sushi, Filipino, and pizza food stalls are also around the market. Enjoy!

Needed a quick but healthy lunch and found so many delicious options here!! I ended up with salad bar but was tempted to get tacos, pizza and crepes as well!! Not cheap, so be prepared! Or try to take advantage of daily specials!

I've been here several times and have always found the place to be overpriced and quite pretentious. It's obvious that this establishment caters to the new tech outfits that have moved into the area who have the means to perhaps eat here every day. Food is fresh, and pizza is good. Grocery items aren't the best in terms of variety. The adjoining coffee bar is also pricey. I'd prefer the Starbucks across the street.

Where to start? Distinguished market with a plethora of cuisine choices for a quick stop. Poke, Pizza, Sandwiches, fresh Salad Bar, Sushi, Mexican...... I ordered a meatball and ricotta slice (the size of a personal pizza) and it was scrumptious. Very few pizza's can blow my mind, well, this one did! I also made my own salad from an array of fresh ingredients. My coworker opted for a poke bowl two days in a row. It's a balance of lunch and grocery shopping, as we picked up some chips and treats for a trade show we were at. Love this place - sensation overload!

This place was a Godsend for us in the drab South of Market/Tenderloin area filled with panhandlers and crackheads that has nothing of interest for the tourist. It has a number of places to eat, including a lively bar where you can watch American sports with locals, and a food store. On one day we had breakfast, lunch and dinner there. This was not because we are unadventurous but because of the lack of decent alternative places and because our hotel was in the vicinity.

I went here twice near the end if my trip. I wish I had found it sooner because it has everything you could need! Right off Marketplace in the Twitter building. We found this place to be cleaner and more modern with better options than any Market in the vicinity. There were lots of options to choose from within this one location. You can get by the slice pizza, groceries, fresh produce , coffee, sushi and so much more!

Shopped here many times during our stay. Good hot food and organic market type foods. A bit pricey, but hey, it's San Fransisco.

There are a variety of food bars interspersed with the food stuffs market style. My wife is fond of the Malaysian counter; I found the food at the Philippine counter a bit too salty. The portions that we've seen are generos.

This place never really recovered from the pandemic. and perhaps the exodus of Google employees from the neighboring building. Today, the shelves are rather spartan, gone are the butcher and the bat, and the hot/cold food buffet is closed. CLosed also is the coffee counter and the feel of the place is beginning to feel abandoned. Still way overpriced. Once a great place for a variety of food options, it's gone downhill. With all of the people living and working in the area, I'd think that there would still be an appeal for a place like this.

We were visiting San Francisco and read about this in an article about food halls. So we went with the expectation that there would be lots of lunch selections, at reasonable prices. If we didn't read that I'm sure we would have enjoyed it more. It was more of a grocery kind of store with 5-7 places (maybe? it was super crowded so not sure if we walked around and saw them all or not) that had lunch options. We got a slice of pizza and it was delicious but the other places were kind of pricey so we ended up heading over to the Streat food truck park and that was awesome. Definitely appeared to be high-quality specialty grocery food though so if that's what you are after, check it out!

The kind of place you can everything you need, from pharmacy to a just baked pizza. Don't get confused: it's no Welgreens. You cam grab something hot to eat! From pasta to a soup or a nice salad priced by weight. The ambient is lovely, woodfaced but modern. The prices are on average and the opening times are great: 8:00 to 10:00 everyday!!! The location is great, just in the twitter HQ. Service assistance was more than OK, helpful and Line. They also have microwaves to heat the food.

The espresso was overly bitter, poor tasting and just all round bad. Their English Breakfast tea, though looking nice was also tasteless and poor quality. A PG Tips teabag and Starbucks espresso would have been cheaper and miles better. The Market shop and eatery is great but pricey. I found my favourite olive oil at a good price imported from Italy (laudemio) and good quality food/drink all round, but the cafe should have a separate listing. It looks the part, with a hipster clientele but the drinks simply do not match the prices or surroundings. So much so it prompted this review.

What an amazing place with great quality (and flavoursome!) foods. I stayed in SF for a few days in August and loved it. I was there daily and tried many hot dishes from the buffet and also tried the poke bar (which was out of this world and I do know a few fab places!). They make food daily, all is fresh and the place has got a nice vibe. Coffee shop is great too.

This market is full of fruit, vegetables and well prepared eats with seating. There is a good selection of beer, alcohol, and desserts. All is available for take-out. Given their location is within walking distance for many of the downtown hotels, those of us visiting do stop in at least once for food in our room. I added a bouquet of flowers to my basket for brightening my room and it hasn't hurt to have a glass of wine at the end of each day. Prices are far less than you'd expect given the cost of the restaurants nearby.

I great place to grab some hot, delicious and healthy food. Plus, it's also a well stocked grocery store. Organics. Juice bar. Many vegan options.

Great Farmers market with nice fruit, didn't spend to long as I was just passing through to catch hop-on bus

Well! When at market street, just remember to drop by to check the market out and see the type of food available.

Very close to the EATaly from NY, in this place you can seat and eat, you can order and take out or even take itens from the market itself and enjoy at the tables. The restaurants have options of healthy food, burguers, sushi, tacos, hawaiian food and pizza. Not to count the bar and the desserts. Great place to go with friends or family for a good unexpensive lunch or happy hour with a date.

I was in San Francisco on business for two weeks, and I was fortunate enough to get breakfast and often lunch in this market. Sometimes you just can't scoot to Hayes Valley, and because the quality and the speed of this market, you cannot beat enjoying it daily. I also find the cuisine selection to be great Varied and tasty! Enjoy! 5 stars!

Located in the Twitter building on Market Street, this is a go-to spot for all of your specialty groceries and more! I was staying in the Holiday Inn Civic Center and looking for something organic and fresh to eat...UNTIL, I found this gem within close walking distance from the hotel. I was impressed by the selection and diversity of healthy and "affordable" options that were available. They have a great salad bar with hot and cold options, plus a wide array of pre-made sandwiches and wraps. I found myself at the Market every morning for a breakfast burrito and Yerba Mate. From now on, when in town, I know where I will be for all of my shopping needs. Thank you.

This is located in the Twitter Headquarter's building. You can eat at one of their many small stations (pizza, coffee, wine, oyster, sushi, Mexican, etc) or you can get 'to go' boxes of hot foods OR you can shop in their high end grocery section. This place is huge, well stocked with gourmet food and reasonably priced. We ate here many times - it's better than most of the restaurants in the area and the people are very friendly.

This newly opened facilities finally gives the growing mid-Market crew an excellent and relatively inexpensive place to eat (at least for those of us schlubs not getting all our meals free from our tech employers). The pizza is very good, made to order in the neapolitan style and a great deal with enough for two. The little Malaysian place in the back has great rice and noodle dishes with heat than can be dialed up or down. The sushi counter is also quite good if a bit pretentious. The only reason is I would not give The Market a full five stars is that there is no good dessert place in house. There is an average gelato place that also serves under-flavored and somewhat stale tasting french macaroons while giving you somewhat snooty looks if you don't rave about their products. There are MUCH better dessert options across the street at the heavenly-smelling Little John's or two blocks down Market St (cross Van Ness) at the mouth-watering Pasty Cupboard!

The Market has every grumet food you like, and although the prices are not the lowest, you get quality foods and the atmosphere is just so great! Good soups, too.

I just had take out of their curry tofu salad and I thought it was delicious and just the right size, color, and consistency. I look forward to trying more veg options there.

Yes, it's more expensive and precious than Whole Foods... There I got the white elephant out of the way. That being said, I LOVE LOVE this place. I love that the high tables for eating are located right in the grocery store near the refrigerated beers. I love that I can buy a bottle of cool, local ale to complement my delicious poke salad and/or pizza and/or taco and/or Malaysian food. I love that it's bustling and filled with so much variety. This is a perfect place to hang out after work or before theatre - all your friends can get their own food and there is plenty of alcohol to wash it down. PERFECT chill place. And it's loud, loud, loud. LOVE IT. You are in the heart of SF Tech and it feels just energetic. Bon Appetit.

The Market is like an up-market grocery store with fresh and organic food, as well as stalls selling prepared food. Find the laksa, it is delicious!!

This is our place to eat while here. Bunch of small food places inside with various cuisines. They have an excellent cheese bar.

Food court around a gourmet grocery. Good place to rest, have a drink, snack or meal. Hot table selections, Malaysian and Filipino stalls, wine bar, pizza, something for everyone.

If you like local, organic and natural, AND you have a big budget - this is your place. it is loaded with all kinds of groceries and ready to eat food with these qualities in mind. It is great that there are lots of places to sit and the bathroom is decent, but this is not a place to go if you are counting your pennies. TIP: Go during lunch to take advantage of free samples of many products.

My Wife and I attend an annual dance festival at The Hotel Whitcomb on Market, and have always had to venture out a bit to get good food. Not anymore! Over 5 days, we tried Azalina's, the Taco Bar, Slice House Pizza, and Poke - all excellent - Azalina's especially - had to go twice, were disappointed it was closed the third time, Sunday! There were other choices that looked good also. The Market Grocery is on the Whole Foods scale, but for the City, we found the food prices at the eateries to be very reasonable. The Dolly Donut, although not cheap, was also a treat! Mexican Chocolate cream filling, yum!

Thursday December 12th 2019 lunch Soggy fish and chips. The fish had soggy batter and there was too much batter. The fries were soggy too. No crunch with the fish or chips. This was my first time at The Market and I could not find a map of my dining options.

The place is located in the Twitter building so food and products tend to be pricier, catering to the tech crowd upstairs or in the neighborhood. We were waiting in line to try the poke bowl at one of the take-out stalls but the line was so slow that we left. It shouldn't have taken that long to scoop up food and put it into a take out container with only 2 persons in front of us. We went around the corner to a large selection of cooked hot food and salads but nothing appealed to us, so we passed. There are a few food stations with sushi, Hispanic and pizza options and a small area in the market where meat/fish is sold. Wine and cheese areas are further in. The facility is clean because it's new and there is an eating area near the front door and a few community tables in the rear. I guess if you're stuck working at Twitter and can't get out the building, this gives techies an option. We passed by a few staff members who were stocking things or standing around talking, no one greeted or said 'hello' to us or asked if we needed help looking for something, not very welcoming.

I'm in love with this place, specially because here I found a manchego cheese with truffle that I had been looking for. They have so many ready-to-grab food options. It's like a gourmet grocery store.

This is very close to the Orpheum, and we could grab a quick bite with everyone picking what they wanted. The Mexican food got low reviews, but everything else was great. I had the Indian buffet. We went on the weekend--I imagine it is packed during the week (in the Twitter Building). Lots of different choices of types of food--poke bowls were very popular, as was the Malaysian.

Was walking around the area and stopped in to the market. Very happy I did as it was Taco Tuesday and had a great meal... for onyl $6!

We stayed in accommodation near here and absolutely loved the place. Quality food and drink of all types, eat-in, take away. One of the best places of this kind we have seen anywhere and the staff are so helpful.
The Bar is the Main Attraction
The concept here is alcohol with food as a second reason to visit. There is a very large variety of wine, beer and spirits. The space has a club like decor. The bar/restaurant is hidden within the building so one will have to go well off of the street to find it.
