Had lunch here. Sat outside on a lovely day. The service was quick and friendly. The Putine was very good; had never eaten a dish like that before. We enjoyed the meal. Recommend.

We were looking for a nice spot for lunch and were pointed to The Marq by Yelp. It was very busy at lunch without reservations so we grabbed two chairs at the bar. Service was average for a busy bar at lunch and we didn't receive much attention, but our meals arrived very quickly and were very tasty. We enjoyed the ribs and a burger and were quite surprised by the reasonable prices. We had flavor and ample portions for the same price as much less impressive joints nearby.

This restaurant is a standby for company lunch meetings and a quick after-hours drink. The wine list is not enormous but there are some interesting selections. For appetizers, I often order the Salmon Tartare - really good. The location on Adams is perfect for those of us working in the Loop who want a quick bite before we catch the train home.

Really hard to review this restaurant as had mixed experience. Found menu very limited with odd items on it. Loved the Strawberry salad. In hind sight should have just added protein to this and been done. However ordered pasta primavera with added chicken. Chicken was shredded and dry. Pasta was good but vegetables were not. When eating the veggies felt like I was eating grass ( I love veggies). Don't think I'll visit again.

They do serve hamburgers, but add egg and bacon and it was $20. Salmon was actual best thing group liked, and the fried pickles. Beware of the steak and rice dish, like a half order of Chipotle in size for three times the price. They need a new menu upgrade again, this one is half baked.

I dined at the Marq on Oct 15, 2019. I have no complaints about the food or the service, they were both adequate. I dined with 2 other customers, we had our tab divided by 3. We each ended up with a tab of around $30.00 and each left a tip of $6.00, which was generous for one drink each and a round of appetizers. We were visiting the city for a theater show. Shortly after my arrival home my Capital one account notified me to ask if I’d left a $60.00 tip on a 30.00 dollar tab! Really ?!?! No I did not! Is this just not common sense??? Anyway, I did not save my receipt, BIG MISTAKE!!!!! Both the manager and the server ( Steph [--] ) claimed I had! So, Capitol One paid the Marq! I’m sorry but this is unacceptable at every level! Capitol should have backed me up, The Marq manager should have credited me on principal an Steph [--] I hope Karma gets you girl!!!! So, the moral of the story is, keep your receipt, do not patronize The Marq and if you do, avoid Steph [--] as your server!!!!

Visiting over the holidays, and needed to find a dinner location since forgot to make reservations. The place was really good. Beer selection was good, items were available for our vegetarians, and I got to have my first try of poutine....which I really liked (it's a belly filler, but I loved it). Service was great. I'd go back again.

We went for dinner with our family of four - with two teen boys. It was a Friday night and the place was vibrant, crowded and loud. There was a large crowd at the bar. We selected appetizers - onion rings and french fries. Onion rings were good. There were several good options for vegetarians. Then two of us had the burger and fries, which you can only get well done because they make in two smaller patty's. For the boys who usually get things medium rare this wasn't a plus. I had the chicken adobo, but the chicken was overdone. The side mix of spinach and mushroom was great. I had a side of brussel sprouts which came with sugar and bacon bits. The brussel sprouts were great, although I would get without bacon bits next time. The brussel sprouts are great on their own.

We happened upon The Marq after a tour of the Rookery and were pleasantly surprised. Our server was fantastic and took time to answer any questions we had. The menu was varied from grilled fish to a more mainstream burger option and also offered a Canadian favorite, poutine. Not very healthy, but yum.

Nothing really special. We sat at high top tables / not very comfortable. Industrial design / loud. The Intern sandwich didn't have enough meat

Good place to grab a business lunch. Most things I have tried are good. I just wish they would do away with their awkward salad dishes. They hard inconvenient to eat your salad,

It was great that my group of nine could get a table at lunch with no reservation however the wait for our food was so long our waiter had to apologize. Several of our party ordered the soup of the day on the waiter’s recommendation. When our food arrived, he informed us that they had run out of the soup so had served them cups instead of bowls of the soup. “Not to worry though, he would adjust the price on our check”. Seriously? It was too late to change their order. We were never even informed in time to make a change. So three people had tiny cups of soup for lunch instead of the bowls they had ordered. Poor service in our view.

This restaurant was close to our hotel and the theatre where we saw a show. The food was ok, but the choices limited. The price was a bit high for what you got. Service was fine.

I haven't eaten here in years, since they apparently remodeled and redid the menu. What a great surprise! Nice modern decor, acoustics not too bad for a packed lunch crowd, delicious modern menu. Our group had the Bruschetta with ricotta appetizer - highly recommend! Poutine was awesome. Salads were delicious. Only slight complaint would be that the bowls used to serve all of our dishes were awkward as they were rather unstable and you couldn't really use your knife to cut anything without the bowl flying around the table. Otherwise, the Marq is definitely a top loop lunch spot for a more sophisticated lunch.

The place was very centrally located close to our hotel. Very nice and contemporary but also loud so I wouldn't go if you're looking for a quiet ambience. Spinach and artichoke dip was pretty good. I had the marq burger which was cooked well. It was pretty good but nothing to write home about. The wife had steak Mac n cheese which she said was "bland". I thought it was okay, but just okay.

What a great environment, they have those higher takes where you basically can see the whole place. Service was good. Our experience with the Sugo 19, spaguetti wih seasoned toast was great. Price is fair.

The food and service were great! We ate the fried pickles and whipped ricotta for appetizers and they were very good- the whipped ricotta with honey and balsamic vinegar was my favorite dish we ate. For dinner I had a burger and it was good! Perfectly cooked and the fried egg made the burger. Not the best burger I've ever had but a solid 8 out of 10.

delicious brussels sprouts. really! helpful wait staff. interesting menu with healthy choices and the popular less than healthy choices!

Last time we visited this restaurant it was a typical Greek family restaurant serving up chef salads , burgers and omelets. This visit was suggested by a colleague for a lunch meeting. Trying to follow a low carb and vegetable dense diet I was not sure what my choices would be based on my prior visits. Well I was very pleasantly surprised. The menu has been turned around and is focused on creative tastes and delicious selections. I had no trouble finding tasty choices for lunch. The salmon rillette and roasted Brussels sprouts were tasty and satisfying. My colleague had a wonderful chicken sandwich fresh and tasty. The interior has changed from a tired restaurant with old leather booths to an upbeat space with regular and communal tables. Try the Marq- it’s really good.

We appreciated the fast and friendly service since we had plans following our meal. Was not expecting the after work "meat market" scene that produced a somewhat noisy atmosphere. The menu is quite limited but we knew that going in. Never before had a Caesar salad without romaine lettuce. I added steak to my salad but it was not the tender beef I expected. I informed the manager who stopped by the table and he said he would pass my comments on to the kitchen. Hopefully others benefited. The outside patio looked inviting and was being used.Did not feel we received value for our money. All in all we were somewhat disappointed. I believe there are better choices in the area.

I organized a small retirement party for a coworker/friend at The Marq. It was wonderful. The restaurant was very accommodating and extremely helpful. The food was delicious. They have different areas of the restaurant that one can reserve for semi-private events. We chose a corner of the bar with a big table und comfy chairs around it. It was perfect for sitting and chatting. Next to it was a long table with chairs where the food was set up and where people were eating and mingling. I was able to bring in my own cake, which the wait staff cut up and served. I had been at this restaurant several times for lunch, but this was the first bigger event. I could not have been more pleased.

The restaurant is hopping in the early evening hours - hard to get a table in fact. Yet we never felt rushed as we ate. In fact, the couple next to us had been there for a long time siphon on wine and just talking with a minimal amount of food to eat in front of them. The food was very good as was the wine. Easy to recommend, especially if you have tickets to a nearby activity.

Dinner before show at Auditorium theater. Good location in heart of downtown but not in busy traffic. Traffic light at restaurant due to early hour. Seating indoors and out. We sat indoors with family. Bar and wall TVs inside. with a crowd can get noisy. Various items on menu. Fried chicken sandwich was flavorful and juicy. Also very big. Fries are good. Burger was ok which was surprising. Summer goddess salad ok as well. They were out of the sticky ribs early evening on Saturday. Only 4 options for dessert and not very exciting. Service was good. Nothing to bring me back there. Ok fare.

Stopped at the Marq because it was on my way back to the hotel. Chose the BBQ ribs and was very surprised by the nicely prepared "plate" and the taste of the ribs. Can't remember that I even had so tasty ribs. The portion was rather small, but fine for me. They also have a good choice of beers.

Always great food, friendly service and a warm/welcoming environment right in the heart of Chicago! You've gotta check them out!

I visited the restaurant for lunch with colleagues. The restaurant is very conveniently located in chicago downtown. As we had a lunch reservation, We got seated immediately. The waitress was very pleasant and welcoming. I ordered iced tea for drink and chicken adobo for main course. The chicken was really good. It was tender and cooked to perfection. The portion size was good. My colleague ordered a steak salad and was happy with the dish. The restaurant is a good spot for lunch in Chicago downtown

I visited this place for some drinks after work with some friends. Its a nice place with a great location (right near the CTA blue line, Jackson). The service was good and food wasn't bad either. A good atmosphere and a place I would go back to.

We made a reservation on open table 30 minutes prior and were immediately seated once we entered. Food was delicious. We had the hanger steak and rice, pea risotto and a burger and fries. Everything was delicious but the hanger steak was by far superior! I do recommend getting the ice cream ala mode for a dessert...only $1.=)

GF and I sat at the bar on a Saturday lunch and Joe the bartender greeted us warmly. We ordered the Poutine with Bacon for $14. It could have fed 5 people easily. So worth it. I had the slider too (was good!) GF had Brussels Sprout and they were perfect. She had the tomato soup and the Fall Salad with Chicken. Everything was done with skill and care. Well done!

Booked as a work group of 24 and couldn’t have been more pleased with our choice of venue. Great location, atmosphere & food. Thanks to Sean and the team for a great night.

Came in from Florida and the manager told us they were closing soon but gave us a piece of paper with all his local recommendations. He was so nice!! The atmosphere is really chic but laid back. The drink, In Between Flights is delicious. Cheers!

My husband and I met our son at this restaurant which had been recommended by his co-workers. We were seated in the area with the low tables, which remained quiet during the time we were there. There were several *groups* at the elevated tables and several people around the bar. We were seated quickly, and our orders were taken promptly, but the food took a little while to be served. That being said, our food was nicely presented and tasty. My husband ordered the "Marq Burger", very good. My son ordered the "Director", again, very good. I ordered the "Executive"...and it was good, but I substituted for the asparagus, and it was some of the best I've ever had! My husband had ordered a glass of wine, and I ordered iced tea, and our son ordered water and the bill just under $100. Also, the restroom was one of the cleanest I have ever seen. A compliment to their cleaning staff! I'm giving it four stars for the *atmosphere*. We had a wonderful time visiting and chatting with our son, but there just wasn't a great *vibe* to this restaurant. Can't put my finger on it, and it was great going once, but could skip it from now on.

We went to the Marq because it was conveniently located to our hotel, but were pleasantly surprised at the interesting menu and fine wine selection. We ordered several plates to share including the charcuterie platter, which was very generous and delicious.

Despite the opening of a very competitive food court right next door, The Marq remains a very solid dining experience in the area. A decent craft beer selection, alongside well produced food at a reasonable price point (for the loop) makes this a good option for lunch or a post-work drink.

We dined a the Marq for the first time recently and found it very nice. The service was exceptional. Our server was very knowledgeable and helpful as we considered the menu options. The menu was modest in size but still offered a wide variety of options. Many of the items were quite unusual and our meals were very nice.

Our first dinner in Chicago on our family's spring break visit to the city was at the Marq. We made reservations, and were promptly seated when we arrived. Our server, Nick, was super-helpful throughout our meal, and gave us some particularly good advice when we were debating about which of two ciders to order. We eventually decided to order both, but the Aspall's he had recommended was clearly the better of the two. For food, we started with an order of poutine, and although it was a bit of a soggy mess towards the bottom of the bowl that required forks to eat, it tasted fantastic was devoured by our starving family of three. For entrees, my wife went with the lomo saltado after getting it recommended by Nick, our daughter got the burger with bacon, and I had the fried chicken sandwich. All three dishes were excellent, with my daughter (who only occasionally orders hamburgers) that it was the best burger she had ever eaten, and after sneaking a bite of it, I could see why, with the perfect seasoning, two juicy patties, and melted cheese under the bun. My own chicken sandwich was super-good--a bit spicy, but great flavor throughout and the chicken overflowing the bun by a good inch on most sides. Delicious. My wife's plate of steak, rice, and veggies was amazing, and I'm glad she ordered it so I could try a bite, as it was one of the dishes I was thinking about ordering.

I have been here for both dinner and lunch but it is the lunch that really made me fall in love. Came for a late lunch on a Wednesday and had no problem getting a table. We were having a bit of a celebration so decided to order some cocktails. I had my favorite, a Hendrick's gin and tonic with cucumber. Excellent! My dining companions had a Maker's Mark Manhattan. They enjoyed their's as well. The perfect sipping drink they proclaimed. For my lunch I had The Marq Burger with avocado. It was exceptional! The meat was juicy and very flavorful. I loved the Marq aioli and the pickled onions. The avocado wasn't necessary but The accompanying fries were cooked perfectly and I was happy they brought plenty of ketchup so I didn't have to ask for more. (I love ketchup with fries.) Though these fries were so good they didn't really need the tomatoey dressing. My friend had the salmon rillette sandwich. Which was basically a salmon salad sandwich. But according to him, still far from the ordinary. He loved it! The sandwich was over stuffed with tons of salmon goodness and he particularly loved the pickled onions that came on his sandwich as well. He too loved the fries. Service was paced nicely but the waitress' attitude was a bit lackluster. No worries though, we had a great time!

This was a few blocks from my hotel and the menu looked interesting. As my title suggests it's a sort of an upscale sports bar. It's a limited menu but with some interesting selections. I went with the salmon bernaise. Potatoes and asparagus on the bottom, then Salmon, and topped off with an egg. I thought it was interesting and very good. They appear to have a lot of beer selections but I went with Scotch as they have a small but nice selection. So where's the sports bar? They have TVs around as well as large tables for large groups. But the TVs aren't broadcast over speakers. So to me it has an upscale vibe - but with a sports bar atmosphere for large groups. There are regular tables on one half of the restaurant. I liked it and can see that it appeals to those who want a laid back environment with something better than typical bar food.

We needed a great meal for the returning college students, and the The Marq met all our needs - from tasty chicken sandwiches, to fabulous fries, to tangy bruschetta with burrata, and the best burger in the Loop!

This is a difficult review to write. I want to praise The Marq because it has such good reviews and it is certainly one of the more reasonably priced dinner restaurants in The Loop. About the experience: The ambience is fantastic. Although the noise level did get up there when it was really busy, this is a happening place in downtown Chicago. We were surrounded by plenty of business people concluding their day in one way or another - wrapping up business or just winding down with a few drinks and and app or two. My teen daughter, husband and I were there for dinner. We were very happy to get an online reservation with only an hour's notice despite how packed the restaurant turned out to be. The service staff was friendly, quick and overall very accommodating. All questions about the various ciders and beers were answered and our server's recommendation of the black ale was spot on! It was surprisingly un-stout like and I only wish I could remember its name! This beer rave comes from someone who rarely drinks beer these days as I don't like the bloated feeling it gives. This beer did not cause that. I was impressed! Onto the menu: I was excited to try the Marc's signature burger. I was equally excited to try their Brussels sprouts and Mac and cheese. Unfortunately, I simply couldn't eat it all (and the Mac and cheese appears to have disappeared from the menu...). So, my husband and I opted for the burger. We also shared an appetizer of house made fried pickles. The chipotle sauce that accompanies them has quite a bite (take it easy at first if you aren't accustomed to that kind of heat). I was very pleased to be able to get my burger cooked to order as so many places refuse anything less than cooked to death! The anticipation of my burger soon shrivelled to naught as I glimpsed the burger sitting on its plate. It was ... unremarkable. The sad little bun that actually looked much better than it tasted was, to be kind, nothing short of unremarkable. The burger itself was in fact not one but two burger patties. They were not cooked to order whatsoever but nor were they over cooked. They were just greasy looking and sad sitting there with plastic cheese (cheese slices) not quite fully melted on top. But oh, those pickles were almost worthy of complete burger redemption -- they are that good! But the plastic cheese, the salt in the burger and the unremarkable bun left me with little choice but to compare the burger to a glorified (albeit saltier) McDonald's burger (and I stopped eating there two decades ago). To say this was a disappointment would be an understatement. The fries were over cooked, burned in places and appeared to be from a frozen bag. Back to the quite a lot more positive: my daughter ordered the green goddess salad and the salmon. This was actually quite a lot of food and she had no hope of finishing it. This is no one's fault but our own as we forgot how significant portion sizes are in the US. The salad was chock full of goodness like avocado, walnuts, apple, radish etc... the dressing was a little on the acidic side. The salmon, however, was beautiful. It was cooked to perfection. It was presented atop a bed of olives, fennel, potatoes and a few other veggies. It was, by all accounts, absolutely delicious. It was also significantly more costly than our burgers but well worth the difference. Did I like the Marq!? I wanted to. I really really wanted to. Did I enjoy the food? No, I did not enjoy my burger nor would I recommend my burger to anyone who has ever had a really fabulous burger as I have - Olympus burger, Port Hope Ontario still has my vote). Would I eat there again? Yes, I would enjoy another beer at the Marq. I would order the brussel sprouts and the ricotta cheese app and the Mac and cheese if it were to reappear on the menu. I would also eat the salmon. I would not ever eat the burger again. It makes me sad to say that about the one item that is named after the Marq.

We enjoyed the variety of interesting choices on the menu and the food was good. We had two different rib dishes that we enjoyed.

We came as a group of 10 post-work for dinner on a week night. The Marq was able to accommodate us without a reservation and is clearly a popular after-work option for professionals in The Loop area. Everyone in the group had great things to say about their meals, especially the chicken and the mac and cheese. I won't give them 5 stars because there was nothing super exceptional about the ambiance or service, though it wasn't bad. I would definitely recommend The Marq to others.

It was our first time at The Marq - great service and yummy food! The owner came out and introduced himself! I will crave the Greek salad with falafels on a weekly basis.

Stopped in Friday for an early dinner and was surprised how busy they were for 5pm but lots of after work folks I suppose. After a wait of 15 minutes had a table in the back. It was a bit loud but had really great service. Tried a dish new to me which was the Jackfruit Confit pasta. It was delicious. My partner had the burger and loved that too.

With a limited food menu late on a weeknight, options ranged from a burger or sliders to... Poutine. This dish had a savory beef gravy, a fried egg, and, with the add-on fried sausage, made for a hearty meal.

I was in town for business and met some of my colleagues out for dinner at The Marq. I ordered the scallops, they were excellent. If I'm back in town, I'd love to eat here again.

Very innovative menu. Chef does a great job. Nice salads and sandwiches. Starters are great. Sausage dish was exceptional.

We stopped for a quick lunch before heading to the airport, this was the right choice! Service was quick, food was served hot and the burger was excellent with all the "extras". French fries were served pipping hot, very important to my husband. So why the four stars? My husband and I split a burger and the salmon BLT. The salmon was fishy, not the freshest. The sandwich would of been great, had the fish been the fresher. But I would definitely return. Love the super clean bathrooms too! Always an indication of a restaurant well managed.

Pretty casual atmosphere. Service was good and very prompt. Food was above average. I had a burger with avacado. I thought it was a nice portion of food for the price. They have a small outdoor seating area too.

the food was amazing (make sure you get the sliders and the falafel salad), the location and setting was beautiful and the service was awesome.

Had a team lunch here for work. Gotta get back and try the burger (they're famous for it) because it looked great. But I was very happy with my order as it was. Friendly staff, good beer list. Definitely worth a visit.

I have been here 3 or 4 times so far. I would classify The Marq as a high-end pub. A smaller menu but a good selection and all just a little upscale as is tthe setting and which is reflected in the prices. I personally miss the old-school diner The Marquette which inhabited this space forever but The Marq is a solid and I will be back.

We had the Ahi Tuna appetizer and it was amazing. Excellent food, excellent service, excellent value!

We visited at 6:30 on a Thursday evening. Though we showed up later than our reservation and with four people instead of two, they found a place for us in this extremely busy time (Hamilton was staring at 7:30 right down the block). With such a captive clientele, the food did not have to be as good as it was. My burger and my daughter's pasta were delicious, including the perfect fries. The server was very friendly, and completely cool, knowing we had to eat and run. I must try this place when I'm not in a rush next time.

I was in Chicago on a business trip and on the final day of my visit, went to The Marq for lunch. Lovely decor! I had the Greek Salad with chicken, which was delicious and really well presented. Michael S, our waiter, was great! Very attentive and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and if I'm in Chicago again, will go back for a bite to eat!

Enticing sign on the street led me into the Marq. Pretty plain menu so I ordered a burger, bacon cheese burger to be exact (I have a thing for bacon), with French fries. I very explicitly asked the waitress not to include the roll and was given a "No Problem," which seems to be the standard reply nowadays. It took what seemed to be forever to get to my table and, lo and behold, the "no problem" turned out to be a problem; the burger was delivered by someone other than the waitress, which seems to be in fashion now, and the waitress was nowhere to be found. I had to remove the burger from the greasy, soggy roll and, dressed for business had a vision of grease spots on my suit. And, to top it all off, the burger, without the roll, was mediocre, to say the least, tasted old. The Marq gets poor marks in my book.

I was having dinner with colleagues on one day of the week and we ate great fish. nice service and waitress very kind and helpful. Local a bit noisy

The drinks were outstanding and we LOVED the fried house made pickle chips which made all the difference in a pickle chip! I just had a simple burger with fries and my friend (vegetarian) had a jackfruit BBQ sandwich, her first time trying jackfruit. Delicious and would return again! We enjoyed the atmosphere and it was nice enough to feel like a treat or just a casual, great meal.

As large group we had large high table. Able to talk with everyone. Something for everyone, we focused on salads. Steak and salmon very good, neat angled bowls.Creative apps as well with Brussels sprouts and chicken skin. Great beer selection.

Ate here on a rainy night because was walking distance from the hotel and recommended by the concierge. Our party had the duck, ribs, chicken and poutine. Presentation was good, seemed a little salty for some in our group but good service and beverage menu. Table area was kinda dark though which may be done on purpose.

The food was very good. The pea and mushroom risotto was excellent, as was the chicken and vegetables. It was a tad on the pricey side for what it was, but not outrageously so. We will likely return here again.

Stumbled into this restaurant by chance after a huge disappointment with another location. Joe the bartender was most hospitable. The restaurant is new and designed well. High top tables in the front and regular seating on the other side of the bar. it has a nice bar area. I had an amazing salmon with FENNEL. I love fennel and rarely see a chef incorporate fennel into an entree. Very enjoyable.

Menu selections interesting for a group of 10 women, but the seating was awkward at high top long table... with the noise level, only could hear someone seated next to you. Service was terrible... no refill of water and no checking with us. Server did accommodate separate checks... Kitchen was very slow to serve...maybe too busy? only go there with small parties or for cocktails where you plan not to stay seated...

Great location in the Loop and they have outdoor seating when weather permits. It was 10 pm and we were looking for something in the loop and stumbled on this awesome place. We both had appetizers and I can not say enough about the chicken skins--you've just gotta try 'em! My wife had the pork carnita soup and it was delish as well. She had a polenta plate with some grilled veggies i had a steak that was very tasty. It was average pricing for a good place to eat in this area and we each had a glass of wine. Highly recommend, we'll definitely be back!

Stopped in on a Friday evening to have dinner with family. This was our first visit to The Marq and came in because of its’ proximity to our hotel. The six of us were greeted and quickly seated. The Marq has a cool vibe, comfortable seating and a decent menu. Our server was friendly and facilitated a great dining experience. Our food came out in a reasonable amount of time and everything tasted great! My wife had the sticky ribs (photo) and I had the Waldorf salad. We really had an excellent experience from top to bottom and look forward to our next visit.

This place is phenomenal... and I'm usually a pretty tough critic. Service was very attentive and cute. The duck was cooked perfectly and the house-made ricotta was unique and AMAZING! I wish I could give this place a few more stars... (of the Michelin type)

Ideal spot to stop for a quick lunch or for dinner before the theater! The burger was out of this world.

Love the location. Right across from a giant orange sculpture. Picasso? Fast and friendly service. A manager or non-waiter came by to make sure everything was good. I would return, for sure. Close to the Private Bank Theatre, for those who are catching a meal before Hamilton.

We were seated in back at one of the regular tables - relatively empty at 5:00, it got busier and noisier as the evening progressed. We got poutine as our appetizer - it was tasty but although warm at first it cooled off rapidly. The 3 of us then had corn risotto, a Marq burger and the cheese/meat board with 5 selections - I was impressed with the salmon rillettes. Everyone liked their food choices. At $12 a pop, the riesling was not inexpensive. We declined dessert as there was only one option - boring cheesecake. Service was good and friendly. Throughout our visit, 2 different managers checked that all was OK. Prices are in-line with other up-market places.

Nothing wrong, but nothing spectacular either. The burger, fries, vegetable side dish and lemonade were all OK. The high tables were nice and the service was very good.

A group of couples met for dinner before doing other group activities at the game show game show nearby. We treated the almost like tapas although it’s not tapas. Hyman and Kelly teamed up to take care of us and were great. Attentive and swift. Nice atmosphere in general. Great place for small groups to gather and be social.

Attended lunch this week with a large group from work. I booked our tables a couple of days in advance and was able to secure the right number of seats (was busy, so would recommend you book if you really want to secure a seat) Friendly service, good food Very convenient to have separate bills so it was easy to pay at the end

In town for a conference and a large Group of us walked to this restaurant. It was a Tuesday night about 8 PM and they were able to accommodate our large group. I'm not sure how I would describe the cuisine at this restaurant. It's very varied. There's Greek, Italian, and American food. They have a great wine selection. I highly recommend any of the salads with chicken. The chicken was fantastic. Other very good dishes were the pasta and salmon. The meat and cheese tray was very unusual and excellent.

Had a reservation and waited about 30 minutes for our table. There is a cute lounge area where diners can wait and grab a drink, which is what we did. After we sat down the manager came over with the whipped ricotta appetizer since he knew we waited a bit for our table, very nice and the app was tasty! Food: Mediocre overall. Here's what the table ordered: * Sticky ribs, which came with brussels sprouts and fries were okay - I didn't have much sauce on mine but the meat did fall off the bone. The fries and brussels were good but the Brussels were way too salty for my taste. * Pork dumplings - good but the garlic flavor was over powering - we ended up not finishing them. * Marq Burger - left much to be desired. There was absolutely no flavor and since you get two thin patties the meat was too well done. * Chicken Roulade was recommended to us - the chicken and carrot puree were delicious but the vegetables had WAY too much garlic on them. None of the veggies got eaten. Service: Attentive and waitress was nice. Drinks: Manhattan with Four Roses - Excellent! Illusionist was good but sweet. The place closes pretty early since it's in the loop so you will need to go someplace after if you want to stay out for drinks. Overall I'd recommend going there for drinks and some apps but you can find better food at other restaurants within the area.

We found this random place that had a pretty good menu. It really was a decision based on what was the third option on the list we found. SO off to The Marq we went. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday night which was fine for us. I started off with a Smoke 'n Spice which tasted like fall in a glass. We decided to get the Fromage and Charcuterie board from the starter menu. Three cheeses, a meat and some other toppings was a great start to the night. It was light and simple and didn't make me feel heavy. For dinner, I had the Sticky Ribs with Brussel Sprouts and Fries. I tore those sprouts up! I think because I was never forced to eat them as a child I have a love for them while others would rather drink sewer water than eat them. I enjoyed my meal thoroughly. I asked for dessert but they had just sold their last one to a man who didn't eat it after they prepared it because it had nuts on it. I was thoroughly pissed at that man. I treated myself to another drink instead. The Caribbean Queen was light and tropical so it felt like dessert.

Nice variety on the menu. Ribs were quite nice and a good Duck dish on the menu as well. Service at the bar was terribly slow. If you go before a show, allow time!

My family and I got take out from here and everything we ate was delicious! I really enjoyed Tuscan Chicken Sandwich and will definitely be ordering from there!

I went with colleagues on MLK Day because I was really hungry for a burger and the reviews sounded good. When we arrived we were the first people there and there was definitely not a crowd, so no excuses. The three of us each ordered a burger and they arrived in about 5 minutes. Barely even time to assemble them, which tells me the burgers must have been microwaved. Yuk. Totally tasteless. The fries had lots of salt so that at least provided some taste. The restaurant is attractive and the server was nice or I would give this place 0 stars.

I had dinner here and it was great. I ordered the Green Goddess salad with chicken; also had a local beer - Krank Case, a tasty kolsch style brew. Lively scene - lots of young professionals. Simple but hip decor.

I stopped into The Marq on the suggestion of the hotel clerk at GuestQuarters down the street. At first I had a hard time finding it, because it doesn't stand out, and has a somewhat discreet sign. But there is a little outdoor seating area which will tip you off. The food is very good. I've had a nice burger there, and a terrific salmon dish called the FNG (for fish 'n greens). The servings are adequate. You won't go away stuffed, but satisfied. The atmosphere is casual and on the sleek side. Clean, simple lines. Comfortable hightops off to the side of the center bar, and traditional tables behind. Sound level is terrific. There's a murmur of voices, but it's not overbearing and annoying like some restaurants can be. The place has an upscale feel, and is reasonably priced. Service was very nice. Gus was my waiter at my last visit. Quite capable, polite, and efficient. There is an outdoor seating area, though Adams Street just didn't seem a pleasant place to sit and eat - with a good bit of traffic, trucks, and no buffer from the street.

Time to close no atmosphere food ok service 1waitress for 9 with no support Too many other choices Very empty

I came to The Marq for lunch with my friends, and let me tell you, it was fantastic. Our server Amanda took care of us. The nachos were amazing and the burger was delicious. Loved the ambience as well. I will definitely be back.

Very loud place on a Friday night when we were there. People were shouting to be heard at their tables, and the tables were very close together. They also had run out of the salmon, which I learned when the server came back to the table to ask me to order something else. My salad was OK, but my daughter really liked her pulled vegan sandwich. There was a children's menu, but it would not be a good place for children. Overall, it was okay but not great and the environment was unpleasant in terms of noise and the chaos of the place.

We stopped in for a drink mid-afternoon. The view of the street and the comfortable and welcoming furnishings were perfect for a midday cocktail. Staff was attentive and inobtrusive. Great drinks, but limited beer list.

The food was delicious and the service was great they seem to know what you wanted and the atmosphere was clean and modern

This was a good place to have a business lunch. Service was quick. Sandwiches and salads. We have 4 different items , including the fried pickles. The pickles were probably the best I have had.

First time trying The Marq and we will be back. Very hip and after a hectic day of work we decided to stop in. Honestly, we almost left. We watched others be seated after us were served and we just sat there. Right as we were about to leave a server, who was not assigned to our table apologized and took our drink order. Management also came quickly over, apologized and gave us a free appetizer. My husband ran restaurants for years, so this appeased his initial apprehension about The Marq. Drinks were delicious. Food was creative and everything was tasty We enjoyed the honey ricotta, the poutine, the crispy broccoli and the spring pea risotto. Look forward to returning and trying more of the dishes.

Was looking for Indy offering. Walked a few blocked. Happened upon The Marq. Wonderful breakfast of Avocado and poached eggs on toast. Seriously the best poached eggs I have had in states. Spot on. Great coffee and refills sitting outside watching world go by.

The Marq is a nice improvement from its predecessor, The Marquette. It's clean and attractive, and you can sit indoors or outside. We ate outside, enjoying the reprieve from work in downtown Chicago. We both had salads which were quite tasty. The service was quick and pleasant, and the bill was reasonable. I would definitely go back again.

Food selection was diverse and appealing. Service was friendly and fast. Drink list was extensive with many options. Atmosphere was friendly and vibrant. Lots of people socializing, sports on TV, pleasant music playing in the background.

I read about the burger and gave it a try (with no extras). Something about it did not totally agree with me - whether it was the aoli or the pickled onions, just did not do it for me. The fries were not that crispy but I like them that way. The service was good even though the place filled up pretty quickly. The problem with judging food is that I may love something you hate and vice versa so I try to be fair. Service and value are more equally judged. It is a little pricey for what I got.

I had a 6 p.m. reservation, but arrived about 1/2 hour early. They were fine seating me early, no problem. I even had my order ready: the poutine with short ribs and the "no holiday" cocktail. Sadly, I had to leave within seconds of when I arrived because the place was so very very very loud!! If you like noise, then give it a try. The hostess told me it is significantly quieter during the lunch hour, so I will return them.

Everything on the menu is delicious. I have never been disappointed whether I got Take-Out or dined in. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable on the menu items. The food is prepared perfectly and tastes just as good as it looks! I recommend The Marq for anyone looking for great food at a reasonable price!

We made a reservation for a group of five and we're promptly seated. Great service, large menu selection and decent wine list. I went for the cedar plank salmon. Perfectly cooked - as I had ordered. Everyone else had delicious meals. No complaints.

My husband brought me here for lunch one day because he knows how much I love Italian food, particularly cacio e pepe. The Marq is popular with the dowtown professional crowd for lunch or after work drinks. I recommend this place for lunch. Service was friendly and we were quickly seated and only waited about 15 to 20 minutes before the food arrived. I really love this Roman dish and was looking forward to this dish. The noodles were cooked al dente and had a nice texture. The cheese was flavorful and tasty. It didn't come close to the cacio e pepe that I had in Rome, but it is was one of the better tasting pasta dishes that I've had in Chicago.

good, delicious and inexpensive food nice ambient friendly service all in one a good restaurant for a tastier lunch!!

We stopped in for lunch while exploring Chicago. We were quite surprised with the menu and the great recipes they made with the usual dining menu. The waitstaff was very friendly and always kept our coffee and water cups full. Very comfortable restaurant. Would definitely go back.

Was looking for a burger place before going to the hockey game. JW Marriott recommended The Marq just down the street. They were spot on. The combination of 2 smaller patties and condiments were awesome. Atmosphere was cool too. We only had the burger so can't speak for anything else, but we both agreed the burger was the best of all time.

Recommend by JW Marriott concierge for a nearby lunch spot. Can't miss the bright orange red umbrellas up front. We chose to dine indoors, as it was a warm day. We shared a Cesar Salad and a Chicken Club Sandwich. YUM! Location 5. Atmosphere 5. Service 5. Food 5. Value 5.

I went here with my sister for an early dinner and a couple of drinks. We grabbed the quac and salsa starter. It was the perfect size for two people and seemed very fresh. The mango salsa is a definite must. I was quite happy with my carnitas entree and would get it again. My sister got the cavatappi beurre blac and was pretty disappointed. It was quite heavy and felt almost like an adult mac&cheese. I also wasn’t crazy about it. The prices here weren’t to crazy which was nice. I think three drinks, two mains and a starter came out to around $80. The place was very busy and lively. I think it would be a great place for big parties as they had so many large tables.

Had dinner here on a Saturday night pre-theater. My dining companions thought the menu choices were a bit sparse, but that's not unusual for a gastropub place. Great beer selection, good mixed drinks. Burgers, vegetarian chili, and mac n cheese were all very good. Can't beat the location just a couple blocks from the Art Institute. Imagine the after work crowd is huge.

Dropped in to this place when we were having difficulty finding something to eat near our hotel. Was happy to find this menu very appealing and the food to be even more so. I had the Director and my girlfriend had the seared duck breast we both really really enjoyed our meals. I would happily revisit this place again.

Location, location, location... The Marq is smack in the middle of the loop and is open weekends when many other local hangout spots are closed. The Marq is always reliable for good food, service, and drinks. From having a quick after work drink with friends to holding our entire company holiday party the Marq has become a mainstay in my rotation of recommendations for friends and family visiting the windy city. I’m partial to their silders and sitting on the outdoor patio in the summer with a nice view of the Calder statue in Federal plaza. But darn mother nature and Chicago winters brings me inside to enjoy a glass of wine and a cheese plate to watch the commuters battle the wind walking to Union Station. The Marq is a great stop for locals hitting the city on a stay-cation or visitors to get a rest from the hustle of the city between museums and the Sears tower (It will never be Willis tower to us locals!).

The Marq is rated in the top 4% of restaurants in Chicago and I find that too low. The creativity here is at a very high level. The birria was not just good, it was spectacular, with a beautiful balance of spice sand a touch of heat. The drink menu shows creativity. the appetizers, including normally bland hummus, were all solid. Sure it presents as a bar-heavy place with sports on TV, but the restaurant takes itself serious, and you should take it seriously too!

Perfect place to stop for dinner before the Theater. The hummus and baba ganoush are both delicious. The service was quick and we had plenty of time to enjoy the view of the Calder Flamingo across the street before walking over to the theater.

Had a 6 pm reservation for pre-Hamilton dinner. Was seated promptly and ordered dinner and drinks within 15 minutes of arriving. We made sure to tell the waitress that we had tickets to the 8 pm show and she indicated she understood. After several inquiries regarding the status of our food order, we left at 7:30 pm without any sign of food arriving. The manager indicated it was our fault our food was delayed because we ordered complicated food from their menu (nobody had any special requests or substitutions from menu selections). Needless to say, would never recommend this place if you hope to eat within 2 hours.

Ok so the Nachos are out of this world good! The food almost looked too good not to eat. I'm not a salad guy but I ordered one because I saw someone else order it and she said it was amazing so I got it and was not disappointed. The Mac and cheese is a must! Probably my favorite thing we had. The service was amazing and I totally worth the trip. This will be a regular spot on my trips to Chicago!

Loved our Greek and Steak Salads. Both were a little different. The Greek had kale and a grilled lemon that was so yummy to squeeze over the salad. The Steak salad had a just perfect piece of grilled steak, avocado, and a great dressing that tasted like a horseradish vinaigrette. We had a very attentive waiter that refilled our Arnold Palmer drinks. When I asked where the best close gelato was located I was walked to the food hall next door since it was hard to find. Such service!

What an amazing place! Great for an after work drink and bite. Stopped in here after work on a Thursday night and was able to drink a couple good beers, grab a good meal, and catch some hockey. I sat at the bar and the place had a buzz of people as all kinds of folks were in and out of there. On top of the atmosphere, the service was excellent and also timely. I had the Mac & Cheese which was incredible with a little bacon and then a burger. It was too much really. Then I had a couple IPA's and that did me in for the night. The location was great too as it's near lots of work sites and hotels and of course a few CTA stops are nearby too. I'll definitely come back here again when I'm in town!

The great stuff : Location is prime - this one is perfect for those going to private bank theatre (close enough to be convenient - not close enough to be crowded) Drinks are flowing - they have a great list and availability is spot on Vibe- clean and fresh with a hint of "bar music" that wasn't over powering (majority of patrons appeared to be check is worthy but my 40 something self was comfortable) Staff: attentive, professional and responsive - couldn't ask for more The not great: Food- although it has been stated that they are stepping up their game... It's not good at its current state ... With the exception of fries which were off the hook! Don't ruin your experience - be cautious. The wrap up: if this location is right for you then be sure to stop by- the pluses in short- location, staff, drinks are flowing

This is a great and friendly bar/restaurant. Staff and attentive and prompt. You are greeted by people that look like they want to serve you. The menu is a little limited but the quality was good and service prompt. Screens for sport are a little awkward to watch but generally worth a visit,

I've been here with colleagues for work lunches on several occasions and have tried a couple of items from their menu - Marq burger, fried chicken sandwich, sausage of the day. Food is OK, nothing to rave about. Service can be slow at times.

I found this restaurant while walking the area near my Hotel. Sat outside and had chicken adobo, which was very tasty. Not many people were at the restaurant, which is a shame since it was great. Maybe it was the time I was there. Service was friendly and polite. I do recommend this restaurant.

Located across the Federal Plaza, the Marq was pretty busy with office people on a cold Friday afternoon. Nevertheless, the service was friendly and fast. I was dying to get the recommended Salmon BLT, but unfortunately they were out of it (it was around 1 pm). So I ordered The Intern (sirloin on wheat bread with roasted peppers and mushrooms, caramelized onions, and chimichurri with fries) and pea soup instead. The Intern was very tasty and filling, but the fries were too salty for my taste. The pea soup was meh, it was good to warm me up on a cold day but not good enough for me to reorder. Since I was on vacation, I also ordered a drink - From Rio to Goa - boy was it strong! It wasn't bad, just a lot stronger than I anticipated. My server, Migee, was super awesome and adjusted my total even though I returned the drink. The Marq has a modern comfortable look to it and I absolutely loved the credit card holders (pictured). I would definitely come back to try it out for a happy hour whenever I'm in Chicago again!
nice place
We were early for lunch today walking along Adams on the way to the Art Institute. We saw The Marq and did a quick look-see on our phones for reviews. Satisfied, we went in and got seated quickly. We decided to have a couple of beers and we shared the brushetta appetizer. It was delicious and the beer, Founders IPA, was great. The ambiance and service were very good. We will be back some time for dinner.
