Rarely eaten such good burgers. The pimp daddy is a perfection. And for a reasonable Award to S.F. Go ahead with your eyes closed

Saw it as we passed by heading to Church St for Mexican and thought it would be nice to hit up the next day. The sign read "the Melt. Grilled. Cheese.Burger"!! Next day we found it and gave it a try. I had the Frisco Melt and it was great. My wife had the Mushroom melt with cheddar and thought it was quite tasty. Overall a good experience. The automated quick order is a nice touch. Was a little pricey for it being fast food but that seems to be the norm these days for "gourmet burger places".

Very good burgers and fries. Had lunch here with the kids and liked it very much. Would definitely come again. Highly recommend it

I had this Sicilian chicken sandwich and a Mini Mac, and for the first time since I started eating there religiously 8 and 1/2 years ago, I can say, "oh my God" did they outdo themselves. That was by far one of the best sandwiches, if not the best, sandwich I've ever had. It's has a little twerk or kick but nothing that you couldn't handle. I eat the patty melt and mac and cheese every other day but I decided to switch it up today, and I am so glad that I did. If you haven't tried them out, you need to do so ASAP.

Went to a show at The Warfield. After having some beers at the venue, we went to The Melt for kate nt eats. We got the Meltburger w bacon, and a grilled chicken w BBQ and bacon. Both were insanely delicious! The bread…!! I love a saucey sandwich and with the bacon… EPIC!

If it’s all American cheese burgers it’s gotta be The Melt! The variety they have on offer is quite good and their patties are so well cooked and seasoned that you d never stop with just one! They have good accompaniments in the form of fries and lemonade and other drinks! Right on market street, would recommend you to check this place out for sure!

The melt specializes in putting cheese on burgers, hamburgers chicken burgers any kind of burgers. They live up to their name! I’m guessing they’re more calories than you want, but they are really, really good.

The burger was good. The mac was average like the fries. Good quality dough. It ‘s better than other fastfood btw for sure!

They have a good selection of melt sandwiches, including grilled cheese, patty melts, and other similar items. It’s fast counter service with plenty of indoor seating. The egg-in-a-hole sandwich was delicious.

This is an fastfood restaurant with A wide menu. There Are sandwich, burgers and salats and more. The prices Are medium. There Are tables in 2 floors. We had A nice experience.

What a great find just a few blocks from the Moscone Center. Here for a Con and has the opportunity to go by and pick up a great meal from The Melt and it was just a short walk from the hotel. We had a party melt, Mac and cheese, and a couple of shakes. The party melt was definitely a strong sandwich that had great caramelized onions on toast. The pickle that was included makes it perfect. This could be eaten over and over again. It was definitely excellent. The Mac and cheese is super creamy and the larger shells make it stand out. Would be great to try it with some of the other add-ins. The shakes were very tasty and lasted long enough to be a dessert as well I'm looking forward to coming back next year and try other menu items. It was a great find.

Called in for a late snack, had a tasteless burger which was awful, my wife had a salad which consisted of lettuce and a few cheese croutons- really awful food! - one definitely to miss!

I had the grilled cheese as well as the mac and cheese. Both were very good, but grilled cheese was a little greasy. I did feel that the staff were a little gruff (maybe not used to dealing with customers because they have kiosks to order from) so don't come in expecting super friendly.

Great sandwiches, served super hot and right off the griddle. We loved the Italian Job and the Patty Melt. Shake were tasty. Walking distance from the Hilton Union Square.

The ordering was simple and easy. We each had the melt with jalapeños and sweet potato fries. The burgers were very tasty, the right amount of cheese and jalapeños. They were a little too greasy for my taste, but my wife said they were perfect. Very good sweet potato fries.

This place was quite nice! Good space and friendly staff. The food was quite delicious - a tad on the expensive side, but not completely unreasonable. Would definitely recommend, and will visit next time I am in San Francisco!

We were just walking on Market St. and got hungry and saw The Melt. We ventured in and ordered burgers and fries. The burgers tasted great and the fries were good. Will definitely go there again!

We were thrilled to eat gluten free burgers. Good overall taste and good meat, but the burgers were very greasy and we have been a bit sick the following days.

Quality burgers. The taste is there. Possible to have gluten-free burger bread. Something other than Burger King, mc do etc...

In a rush a passed this fast food joint. A bit hesitant but serious no reason. The burgers were well crafted and the fruens perfect. Interior a bit dirty but otherwise tiptop

This was a great pick! We stopped in on our exploration of Market St. Very good grilled cheese and fries! Reasonably priced, and quick service.

We stopped in for a quick bite and we were amazed at how juicy and tasty the burgers were. Fries were nice as well....like the old days no 'coatings etc...

Ate here with a friend during a SF road trip. Thought that given it was called 'the melt', cheese would be in abundance. Had a spicy chicken mission burger and a melt burger, both with chips. Spicy burger not spicy at all. Both felt a little disappointed generally, one was lukewarm. Alright burger but nothing particularly special. Cheese game needs upping! More cheese!

They have the best melted cheese burger, excellent bun, delicious meet, perfect assembly! Would definitely recommend

This is a spreading franchise operation in many parts of the country. Here they serve the office worker lunch crowd and the sandwiches are good, but a bit expensive for what they are. Love grilled cheese.

My new favorite item is the snickerdoodle milkshake! So good! The manager is also super nice and the location is clean. Also the bacon Mac and cheese, chefs kiss.

I'm not sure what to say about this place. I guess the problem is that they aren't what they claim to be. The only thing that made me happy was the little grilled cheese croutons on the salad. This seems to be the theme, right? Grilled cheese, cheese, hamburgers, more cheese. The way the hamburger was described, I thought there was cheese integrated into it. So, I was disappointed by what I got. The odd thing is that their "thing" with their hamburgers seems to just be roughly chopped relish. It was alright, but nothing spectacular. So, the hamburger ended up being just a pretty average experience. The bigger problems were more incidental, but still important. My husband ordered a chicken sandwich, and got a hamburger (we checked the receipt; it was clearly on their correctly). I'm sure they would have corrected it, but he just doesn't want to take the time when everyone else has their food. Second, the fountain drinks were awful. Seriously. The worst I have ever had ever. Disgusting. This is a solid loss of a star, or it would have maybe just been a 3-star review. Last, the macaroni & cheese was pretty terrible. In a couple spots where there was a lot of the sauce, it was okay, but most of it tasted like eating bland rubber. This is probably the biggest disappointment, because again, they seem to be all about the cheese.

Tried the melt’s impossible burger and was overall impressed with the quality. However the $5 difference between the beef melt and the vegan version left a sour taste on our palette.

Found this place walking around downtown San Francisco... restaurant has 3 levels you can sit on, a self order kiosk if you like to order your food on the iPad, and a great little patio outside. The menu prices are pretty reasonable for what you get. I ordered a classic Melt Burger, which to describe it is basically meat ground and chopped up peppers and seasonings. It’s pretty good! I also ordered a side of baked fries and a fountain soda, total came to $13 which I felt was reasonable for the amount and taste of the food I got. Fries are seasoned and aren’t bad at all. Customer service is pretty good, cashiers seemed very polite and able to answer questions guests had. I would definitely come back to this place!

This sandwich store has a few locations in the Bay Area and many around the country. The menu is big enough and the quality is quite good. There are places to sit inside.

Melty comfort food fast. Enjoy we handcrafted, angus-wagyu blend MeltBurgers, great takes on grilled cheese, melty mac 'n' cheese, handspun milkshakes, crispy fries and much more. They aim to delivery such as I Love It Here Experience to every guest like me as a customer

Had the patty melt and sicilian chicken melt. Both were bland and under seasoned. Really awful. Technically cooked fine, just bland bland bland. Even the sautéed onions were just flavorless. No excuse to eat here when San Francisco is one of the top food cities in the country. Just super disappointed. It’s diner food. How the hell do you screw it up so badly when it’s literally the restaurant’s specialty?

Top Burger! The cheese and bacon fries are awsome :) Drinks Are very tasty . We were here two times.

The emphasis is on grilled cheese sandwiches, and paired up with some tomato soup, can't be beat. We took ours with us. Prices are a little high.

Quite bite to eat whilst out exploring. Nice thick milkshakes, tasty burger. Sweet potato fries not the best. Lovely lady who served us.

Great place for a good burger. Walk up and order and when ready retrueve order at counter. Burger was delicious(got the crispy onions—yum). Garlic frues with parmesan were awesome! Wish we had one near my home!

Tasty, quick and welcoming. Just go ahead a try it out for a quick lunch. Decent portions and I’d go back for sure. Self serve counters and drink machines. Wifi and plenty of seating at the time I visited.

For a fast food joint - this is great! Good sustainable ethics and tasty food. We had some grilled cheese on sourdough bread (a must in San Fran) which was fab!

We just finished shopping and needed something quick before some reservations we made for drinks. The service was quick, easy and friendly. The food itself is pretty good and large portions. We both ordered a sandwich and fries, which is plenty. Great stop if you need a quick bite.

Good place to stop in for a quick fast casual lunch. I loved the self order kiosk, made it easy for our first visit. We had melt burgers, which tasted fresh, were juicy and cooked to our preferences. Fries were nicely seasoned and not too greasy. My son had a grilled cheese, and said it was one of the best (of many) he's had. Like that all the ingredients were all natural. Deserts looked great but we will have to try those shakes another day, too full this time.

On my way from meetings in the South of Market (SOMA) district to BART, I needed to pause for sustenance. I wanted something of good value (reasonable price), good quality, and heartiness (to provide strength for the rest of my journey). Warm would be a bonus. The Melt provided all of those things in one grilled cheese sandwich. Three cheeses in a gooey layer between toasted sourdough bread. It was delicious and satisfying, at a very good price for the area. I was allowed to add sliced tomato for no extra charge, so oh yes I did! I ate part of the sandwich right away, which provided the best experience, but the other half was still great about an hour later on a bus. The whole thing was a generous, satisfying portion. This is a new location on Market Street, the third that I know of. It's great to have this reasonable option in the midst of high-end dining and shopping. My hope is that they will continue to do well, so it will always be an option for me when I'm in the city.

We saw this place walking to our hotel, read the menu and decided to visit there for lunch the next day. I got the classic grilled cheese and my husband added fries to his. It was delicious and we think of ourselves as grilled cheese connoisseurs, so we are pretty picky. It came with a dill pickle, which was crunchy. They also serve burgers. Definitely would go back .

The restaurant has a fast food concept, but with quality ingredients. I tried the tomato soup and the cheese melt. The tomato soup was excellent and was rich in flavour. The bread they use for the melts is delicious. Worth trying if you're in the area.

We decided to eat at the Melt shortly before closing on our late arrival in San Francisco.. It was in walking distance of our hotel and sounded good so we gave it a try. The food was delicious, the service was prompt and my family really liked it. You can order at the counter or from in-store kiosks. We went for the specialized burgers and I got a regular burger with mushrooms and fixings, with a side of garlic cheese fries, plus a chocolate milkshake. All were delicious and I am now a definite fan of garlic fries. I had not had them before but we found them in a couple of other SF restaurants we went to. But this is where I fell in love with them! lol

The mushroom/spinach/swiss melt was amazing. Cooked perfectly, juicy, flavorful. I wish I would have upsized to the mega. The area lends to some interesting individuals coming into the store. The only thing keeping the review from 5 stars is the staff did nothing to remove a gentleman who came in after not showering in some time to dig through the garbage for the soda cans. He smelled so bad, it made it hard to eat such a fantastic burger.

While the guy at the counter was somewhat disinterested and distracted, the food was fine. I appreciate that this place is obviously making an effort to source locally and use sustainable, quality ingredients that move it a notch up from the factory joints. I had a jalapeno chicken sandwich of some sort with some fries and it was pretty tasty.

Burgers were seasoned well, lots of cheese! Mac and cheese was creamy. Prices not bad. Good for a lunch or take out. I would return.

Pretty basic fast food joint. Burger was good. They have vegetarian options which are great for our family. Join rewards program and get free fries! Staff was helpful.
The Melt Stanford Shopping Center
Very tasty, but it may seem fat for those who want to eat light. The potato is very tasty. The prices are reasonable.
