After reading the reviews, I was not sure what to expect, but I decided to go for it and take my two kids (12 and 8) for a fondue experience. We had a great time! The kids really enjoyed the cooking, and before long, 2 hours flew by and everyone was stuffed when we left. The Restaurant Week special prix fare menu was perfect for us. There was plenty to dip in all the courses - see photos for the food quantity that shows 2 adult portions. I did not add photos of the kids portions but they were fine for my 8 year old who got filled up and left a bit extra for us. (There was also a salad course, but I didn't get pictures of that.) We also purchased the kids menu fondue for my daughter, and she got plenty to eat as well. For $12 you can get meat for the main course for the kids menu, and then it's an extra $18 for cheese dippers and dessert dippers on the kid pricing. The only thing that was slightly different was that it said online that it was an extra $10 for the cheese and dessert for a kid, but I think they just need to update their website with current kids menu pricing. Our server was very friendly, kept things coming out very promptly, and kept our water glasses filled too. When we dropped a fork, another waiter promptly brought us another one. All in all, it was a great experience! I did bring a book to read to the kids between courses, which proved to be a good idea, since we did have to wait a bit between a couple courses. However, it was well paced and nobody was bored! Also my kids like that the restaurant is upstairs (they do have an elevator but we took the stairs.) And yes, it is definitely expensive, but I still say it is worth it for a splurge once in a while or to celebrate and have nice family bonding time. Great job Melting Pot Dallas!

My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate Valentines Day early in hopes of not having to have long waits and frustration because of all the customers that go to restaurants on Valentines day. So we celebrated the weekend before. The Melting Pot in Addison has always been my favorite place to go until now. Prior visits were fantastic, this last visit was HORRIBLE!! It was so bad that my boyfriend went on the website and placed a one to two page email to them. That was a week ago and we still have not been acknowledged or apologized to. So my boyfriend now is sending the letter to corporate. My boyfriend and I do not like to make a scene so we did not express our dissatisfaction at the time. The whole night was a disaster so I will just list the top things that went wrong. My boyfriend called in advance to make reservations for a Saturday night. The first time he called, he got a voice mail so he left a voice mail....He never got a call back. Four hours later he calls back, a lady answered and she tells him we can make a reservation for 8:15 p.m. Then she puts him on hold, after being on hold for a good four minutes a man answers and says how can i help you? Then my boyfriend explains what happened, then the man puts him on hold. Then he comes back on to take the reservation. We arrive about 5 min early (We would have been there earlier but it took is 25 min to valet park in their parking lot). checked in with reservation staff then went to get a drink in the bar. An hour later!!!!! We were seated! If I make reservations some where I should be seated within fifteen minutes of my reservation. The drinks at the bar were good but very crowded since they were very busy that night. After being seated for about ten minutes, the waitress finally came over. She sat a tray of dirty dishes right in front of us with lobster carcass and such while she takes our order. We asked a question about the cheddar bacon cheese that was on the valentines menu was available for the other meals. She said it was not. When she came back my boyfriend asked if the special that was on the small card/menu was only available with the Valentines menu since it had the cheddar bacon cheese in it. She said we could get that on the normal menu items. This caused a lot of confusion. The waitress was not as professional or friendly as the ones we had in the past. She almost sounded like a robot spouting out only what she learned in training and talking very fast like she was always in a hurry or being over worked. When I was ready for another drink I could not get it for quite some time because our waitress was no where to be seen. Before she brought our salads my boyfriend was finally able to wave her over. I then ordered a bottle of wine. She brings our salads out next, then a little while later she brings the cooking pot, with still no wine. So my boyfriend asks about it. We knew she forgot about it but told us the bar was very busy. Then we waited another 20 min before getting it!! After dinner it took her about ten minutes to pick up the check. At this point it was late and it had gotten slower in the restaurant. While waiting for the check my boyfriend gets up to use the restroom. When he went in there was a male host in the men's room who had actually seated us earlier with his foot propping open the door while he was leaning over the sink. He kept the door slightly propped open as my boyfriend goes to the urinal thinking for sure he would shut the door all the way out of respect. While using the urinal, a younger lady hostess walks in!!!!! She then notices my boyfriend at the urinal. She stares for a second then leaves. My boyfriend asks the male hostess if the bathroom was closed or something or if this in fact was the men's bathroom. He smarted off and said no its open and the ladies room does not have urinals. So he was rude to my boyfriend after the embarrassment of what just happened to him at a supposedly up scale restaurant. My boyfriend then comes back to the table to tell me what happened. So as we are sitting there in the next area the woman hostess who walked in on my boyfriend is cleaning with another employee and we hear them whispering and giggling about what just happened to my boyfriend!!!!! We are very upset at this point. Although we still tip at 20% and continue to bite our tongues and be nice. I never write this long of a review but this was a horrible experience we will never be back to this location. And now that no one from management with this restaurant has contacted us to apologize, we will never be back to this chain or any other melting pot in the US. It almost seems like someone diff is running this location after this horrible experience when past experiences were amazing. We will never be back here and we hope that anyone else who goes here never has to go through what we did.

We went here for an anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. They had out rose petals on the table for us to help with the ambiance of the evening. The food and service were definitely good but he chocolate fondue at the end of the meal was certainly the best part of the evening. The only discouraging factor was that although the tables are set up to be semi private, we had a very loud group behind us. The price is certainly a little more expensive for just a normal night out on the town but for a special occasion it was great.

We had reservations for 7:30. Got in right on time! We had great service. Lots of options. The food was awesome. The cheese dip that comes with bread, vegetables and fruit was a great starter. It is a different kind of eating experience. Must Try this!

Our family went to the Melting Potin Addison for our New Year’s Eve Dinner. The steak and lobster special was wonderful. We will return next year.

We have enjoyed the Melting Pot in Addison for 10 years. It has been quite some time since we last visited so decided to celebrate my wife's birthday there. While the staff was friendly, it appears that they have reduced servers making for a long meal with lengthy waits between courses. This is tolerable but the reason for the one star was; 1. the continual fight with gnats which according to the server were coming from the soda machine and 2. Hair in our food. The manager was very kind and partially refunded the meal which was appreciated. We are writing this in hopes that their corporate office will invest in a needed renovation and review of the preparation practices.

We have been a fan of Melting Pot restaurants for many years and it was my wife's favorite place. We were very disappointed when the Addision location closed awhile back and when we recently heard it had reopened we just had to go back. Now we are wishing we hadn't. The service was VERY slow, we were there almost 3 hours and there are only 3 of us in our family. The time between courses was painful to wait for and the restaurant wasn't even that busy, 50% of the tables weren't occupied. The portions seemed MUCH smaller than they used to as well. The salads were about half the size of what we remember and the bowls of bread and veggies for the cheese fondue were also small as was the pot of cheese. The filet mignon wasn't super tender like you expect and the dessert doesn't appear to be served with the slice of cheesecake anymore either. The duck breast was very good and we liked the new way to create your own 4-course dinner by picking 3 entrees which was nice customization. The salads were still good, just small. All in all it was disappointing because of our fond memories of the place and it just didn't live up to those expectations. We are unlikely to go back now.

If you like your filet mignon and mahi-mahi stewed in the same pot of boiling herbs , wine, water, whatever-then this is your place. The cheese dip that comes with bread, vegetables and fruit was a good starter, the entree( see above), was barely palatable. Chocolate dessert, can't go wrong, but needed fruit in addition to strawberries, to counter all the sweet choices. Atmosphere is cozy and dark-appropriate, service was cheerful and enthusiastic.

Had Reservations for 8 pm seated at 8:30 by 11:45 we said forget the dessert just deduct from the fixed menu price and get us out of here! The worst service ever in any restaurant I have ever been to. What in the heck can take so long!??? They do not cook anything in the kitchen all the cooking takes place at the table! The prep of the food portions would have all been done before the place opens so WTF? Tables seated around us came and went but we still sat w-a-i-t-i-n-g. Once we finished out entres the dirty dishes sat on the table for 30 minutes even after we asked to have them cleared please...TWICE! For the prices charged the portions were tiny! The lobster was coated with some kind of awful seasoning to the point that it did not even have any lobster flavor what-so-ever it just tasted powdery. The pastes fell apart when you tried to cook it. The shrimp were improperly cleaned, gross! All in all NEVER AGAIN!

My husband took me there for a walk down memory lane for my surprise Valentines weekend. He worked very hard at it and on this night he ordered the Deluxe Valentines Package to make it extra special. Shortly after we arrived, the Hostess took us back to our table. Although he made reservations in advance, the table was not ready when we sat down. I did not realize it and was pleased with how it was set-up, but she soon realized my flowers and more 🌹 were on another table and asked my husband (in front of me,) “Did you get the $300 package?” My husband hesitantly responded “Yes” because he did not want me to know the financial details, only enjoy this night he had ever so carefully planned for us. She asked him that because she wanted to make sure the flowers 🌹and champagne glasses 🥂 that were on the other table were ours. Our waitress came and she was very pleasant, that helped to make it nice. The food was plentiful and parts of it were really tasty. I enjoyed my seafood 🍤 selection, but my husband said his meat course (primarily beef 🥩) was bland, without a lot of taste. We did enjoy some of our vegetables and loved the white chocolate fondue we selected for dessert. Neither one of us were crazy about their stuffed pasta which was part of our main entree, but they were a part of a pretty presentation. I did order a Love Martini which was delectable. I usually don’t get a drink, but this was a special night so I ordered one. The waitress asked me if I wanted another (I believe we were on our appetizers,) and I said “Yes.” They brought me the drink AFTER we were finished with both our main and dessert course and we’re fixing to leave. I told the waiter I really wanted it with my meal and that we were finished and that I didn’t want it now. He was different from our regular waitress and was in shock it took them so long to serve the martini. Overall, with my husband’s sweet heart ❤️ and him trying so hard, it was a good night. Some of the food was really good and I enjoyed the ambiance of it. My husband was not too thrilled, but was glad I liked it. I would give some parts a three and others a four. It was a very nice Valentines my husband planned.

The location of this restaurant is very odd. It's on the second floor of a building above a 7-11. We had an 8pm reservation and arrived on time. Nobody else was in the lobby. After waiting a couple of minutes, the hostess came out from behind a wall and checked us in. In the interim, another couple came in behind us. We were ready to be walked to our table, and then the hostess told us to have a seat. I wasn't sure if I understood her correctly (the restaurant was empty) and I didn't know if she meant go grab a table, or sit down there in the lobby. I said, “excuse me?” Again, I didn't hear her and I was just being polite. She said, “I'll seat you after I've checked in these people.” She should have just sat us, we had been waiting. Well, as it turns out, the people who came in said they had a reservation but the woman couldn't find it. After going round and round for about five minutes with them (time we should have been at our table), the hostess said to the couple, “it doesn't matter, I can still get you in.” The woman in the couple looked around at the empty restaurant and said, “obviously.” I had to chuckle. At our table, the server was nice but was a little distracted. We put in our drink order, and the woman came to our table a total of four times before she brought my son's chocolate milk. Each time I think she realized her mistake and gave some kind of excuse like, “I wasn't sure if you wanted a glass or a kid's cup.” He's six. So again, on either the fourth or fifth visit he got his glass of milk. I had a cocktail, and the other two had soft drinks. During the meal, one refill was brought for the soft drinks, but after I finished my cocktail I was never asked if I would like another or anything else. At the end of the meal, another server who was working the table next to our noticed every glass empty and stepped in. The light over our table was burned out, and I had to use my cell phone to see the menu. The food was good, but nor worth the price. For my wife and I, a six year old, and a ten year old, the bill was $141 plus a gratuity.

If you enjoy a quiet meal at a relaxed pace, this is the place for you. It is not, however, a place for children. The meal takes a good two hours and noisy kids ruin it for everyone. Anyway, back to the food! Very fresh, rotating selections, great wine selections and awesome chocolate finish make for a great night out! We come here after the theatre downtown, and the service never fails to cap off a great night. We've tried The Melting Pot in several locations, including Maui, and we still like this location best. Enjoy!

From the onset of service at the door to the final piece of chocolate s'mores.... I can't say enough good things about the restaurant. Try the filet but be warned it's plenty and do not leave without a dessert. Plan time ahead and enjoy the evening ... Tangerine martinis are always good way to start as well!!

We went to Addison for Kaboom town. Made reservation for 8:15. We arrived early and sat at the bar. The female bar tender was very friendly and helpful in choosing a new drink. The fondue was very good. We like the Apine the best. Service was good and we were out in time for the fireworks.

The restaurant layout was great, providing distance and privacy for each guest party. The service staff was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good and an unique eating experience. We will be going back!

Took my 9 yr old son here for his birthday last week. He really likes this place because we come here all the time for special occasions. This particular location has its ups and downs, but this time around it was really down for us. Our waitress was ok, but she soon got overworked because she was covering 4 tables including ours, (we were a party of 6), and the service got slower and slower because of her workload. It took forever for desserts at the end. The food itself was ok, not great, not bad. But in the past the food has always been excellent. Not sure if they downgraded their quality of food. They also were really skimpy with the sauces. I guess we could've asked for more but didn't know if we were going to be charged for it so we left it at that. We went on a Tuesday night but it seemed they were understaffed for most of the restaurant positions. When we left, there was no hostess at the entrance and the only working person up front was the bartender. Our dining experience took almost 3 hrs, which is kind of pushing it even for Melting Pot. Not sure if this problem is systemic throughout the Melting Pot brand or just this particular location. Either way, we'll probably not dine here again for awhile.

On Jan 1st we had a 5:45 reservation, we waited for the host to seat us in a nearly empty restaurant; then he left us standing in the aisle; where we waited some more. We were served hard bread, we asked for fresh, he just brought us another basket of stale old bread, it was so hard you couldn't put your teeth in it. My 20-year-old daughter went to the manager to complain-he sent a glass of wine to the table :( When their entrées came out (I say their entrées because the appetizer was such a nightmare I didn't trust anything coming out of the kitchen), there was a skin on top of the sauce, when I pointed it out our waiter explained that it was left over from last night; when we asked him for a fresh one he did bring it. My Son ordered a milk chocolate fondue he brought dark chocolate. There were such long periods of time we didn't see anyone it took 3 1/2 hours from the time we sat down to the time we got our bill. A few days later I spoke to some woman who claims to be an ownership partner, she apologized profusely claiming she saw the whole thing on video. She promised to send a coupon so we could try the restaurant again on her dime, that never materialized. There are so many great restaurants in the Dallas area, I would recommend going anywhere else.

Booked a party of 10 for a birthday this week. The restaurant was literally empty, yet they would not seat us if party was not complete. After waiting around, finally got seated. Took forever to get waited on - even just for water....then it just went downhill from there. Oddly staffed...had a nice waiter, but he was overwhelmed and had 3 other servers following him around, yet doing nothing to help him. He got our order mixed up, but did fix it (taking extra long)...we had to go over and get our own sauces for dipping as he forgot those too...HIs "helpers" were not very helpful either...and this server was the only one actually interacting with customers and making the meals for ALL the tables around us...start to finish - 3 hours! Maybe next time just a drink and either cheese or chocolate fondue - as those were quite good. Oh yes, and it's quite pricey too, so be prepared!

I tried to make reservations for 4 online and was informed I had to give them a credit card and pay for reservations. There are many places to eat in DFW, we won't be going there.

Literally the WORST and MOST EXPENSIVE dining experience ever! Early birthday dinner at The Melting Pot - Addison - I'm so embarrassed I recommended it to my friends! Reservation was for 5:30, Saturday night. When we arrived, the bartender was bartending and hosting. Little wait to be seated. Didn't think anything of it. She mentioned she was getting off in 20 minutes. IT TOOK 45 MINUTES FOR EACH ROUND OF DRINKS! IT WAS OVER AN HOUR WAITING BETWEEN EACH COURSE! THE MANAGER WAS HOSTING AND BARTENDING AND RUNNING! (We were literally eating heated fondue before we even received just a damn tea) It's $100+/person. I've had better service at Chili's...... A server brought food, asked if anything else - we said our drinks we ordered 45 minutes ago (we had been timing it at that point). She snapped at me they had 4 people walk out (including the bar tender who had literally just said her shift was ending) and 2 people get fired, so they're short staffed. Well ma'am, that sounds like a toxic work environment and also YOUR PROBLEM not mine (and a lie, because her shift ended - lying to my damn face - I'm paying you to treat me like an idiot and talk down to me). My meal price didn't decrease because you can't offer proper service (in fact, my friend returned her meat because it was discolored). If anything, when I made the reservation, they should have said they couldn't accommodate it. We ordered drinks for with our dessert. 45 minutes later I went to check on the CUP OF COFFEE.... "We don't even make coffee" WOULDN'T THAT HAVE BEEN NICE TO KNOW 45 MINUTES AGO?! They gave us our bill. Full cost. I'm never one to ask for anything free, BUT I WAS NOT PAYING $750 + tip FOR THE WORST DINING EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD. I went back to the manager, she told me she was told not to discount it (she's the manager, who's telling her?!) I told her that experience was unacceptable. SHE ARGUED WITH ME! Our server literally had to tell her to stop arguing with us about their staffing issues. Here's the deal The Melting Pot - if you want quality employees, pay for quality employees. You want people to have a pleasant dining experience? Don't create a toxic work environment for good staff! How dare you ask people to spend hundreds on a meal with less service than fast food! I'm so embarrassed I took my friends their (their first visit). I will never return. That was literally my worst dining experience ever (and for my birthday)! Our server was wonderful. We tipped her thru zelle & told her not to tip share with people that ruined the experience. She apologized profusely. She's only been there 2 weeks and was so embarrassed. Lord.....

One star only because there was nothing lower! We have eaten at other Melting Pots and were very disappointed with this one. The service was inexcusable! We told our server we had eaten a little bit earlier and our party of five wanted to split a few things. He kept trying to sell the 4 course meal even after us telling him we did not want it. He took all of that to mean we didn't have enough money to eat there and it all went down hill from there. We ordered 2 different pots of cheese one was ok even though it didn't have the bacon in it which it showed to have in the menu. The other one was inedible! Nasty isn't even a strong enough word to describe the second one. It went fairly untouched and our party of 5 shared 1 pot for the most part. Our Italian meats came out after the cheese was gone. Those were cold cuts and were supposed to be with the cheese! At this point we decided against ordering the chocolate, which we love and just getting our ticket and going home! When we told him that was all we were having, to add insult to injury he tells us fondue is half price at the bar thru the week if we wanted to comeback! Ummmm No! We will not be back! We left him a $10 tip on a $50 ticket even though he in no way deserved it! The Melting Pot Addison I hope this is an isolated incident and not how you regularly conduct business! Little did he know we had more than enough money to pay for a 4 course dinner for all of us at least 5 times! I was so embarrassed because we brought family with us this trip that had never been before and we had to apologize to them and explain this is not how The Melting Pot normally does business! Never, ever again!

We had a reservation, but it seemed unnecessary on a Monday night. Most of the restaurant was empty. We were seated in a booth behind the wine cooler next to the only other customers on that side of the restaurant. It was several minutes before anyone came to our table. We had seen the menu beforehand so we didn't need much time to decide. We ordered from the Restaurant week menu and added a couple of salads. (The California salad is very tasty) The food was good. We enjoyed all of it. The service, however, was terribly lacking. Our water glasses were empty most of the evening. We felt forgotten, but this section of the restaurant had customers on both sides of us. The waiter offered to bring more bread, but didn't. We enjoyed the meal at a discount for restaurant week, and we expect it to be a leisurely meal, but we also expect to have attention whilst we enjoy.

Five of us met and had a wonderful time and terrific food. We started with Swiss cheese fondue and fiesta. Personally, the Swiss is out of this world yummy. We each had a salad, cold, crisp and tasty. The main course included lobster shrimp filet chicken and veggies. Then of course the classic chocolate and turtle desserts. Service was good, food even better

Took some friends of mine that had never experienced fondue at the melting pot before and it took them all of 5 seconds into the cheese portion lose whatever skepticism held within their minds. The food was great as well as service from a very nice gentleman named Michael. This is a great location and will definitely be returning.

There was no hostess at the front desk.,. So we went to the bar where there was also no one for service when the hostess showed up we went to meet her at the register I fell coming out of the bar with an unmarked step down .... broke my eyeglasses and was not asked by hostess if I needed help getting up! Shocked by lack of empathy! Oh well ! !! Never again! My sweet husband planned the surprise for 15th wedding anniversary So we kept the reservastion the waiter provided ice and napkins for my bruised wrist. And we paid the 180.00 food bill ...even though we had a very small booth to small for ud and it was hot. Another one bites the dust!!!

If you've never visited a fondue restaurant, you must try the Melting Pot! The house salad, Wisconsin cheese and yin yang chocolate are our favorites. Often we just go for happy hour and a pot of cheese. It can be a meal in itself. Make reservations in advance & arrive hungry!

This was the first time I ate at melting pot and wished I went elsewhere. Server was terrible. Sometimes has to ask 3 times for things. He was super slow. Plus, he even forgot things that are common to melting pot (never did see any garlic wine seasoning) Then when it was brought up he literally ignored the comment. This place was difficult to get to. If you want a nice diner go to the Brazilian steak house down the street.

The staff made sure our table got exactly what we wanted! I asked about a drink from a previous trip and although it was not on the menu, I still was able to get it! Great experience!

Although the kids had some fun with the fondue concept, we landed up paying a ridiculous $40 per person for a meal, which constituted a ridiculously poor value for what was provided. We ordered the 4 course meal, which provided a cheese fondue, salad selection, entree and chocolate fondue dessert. The two cheese fondues that we received were acceptable, but nothing to write home about, although the restaurant was laughlingly frugal with the amount of vegaetables and fruit that were provided for dipping. The salad dressing on our caprese salads tasted like molasses straight out of the bottle. The entrees offered a miniscule amount of food, and were marginal, at best, in terms of taste. Lastly, the serving of the chocolate for the dessert fondue was grossly insufficient, although it was fair in terms of taste. Simply put, I'd mightily avoid this one, unless you enjoy throwing down $40 per head (not including tip) for second-rate food.

Reservation was for 1:30. We got seated on time. Waiter finally showed up at 2. It is currently 3:40 and he just asked what we want for dessert. I've seen news coverage of Haitian refugee camps and Melting Pot could learn a thing or two from them about efficiency.

First time at a Melting Pot. We thought it was a cool idea. The menu is confusing in terms of pricing and courses. But our waiter did a good job helping us navigate it. The cheese course was really good. Many choices. Next is a salad. Nothing special but good. Main course we did the pick three. You get to cook your meats at your table. We choose cast iron skillet. Recommended cook times honestly don’t work, because it depends on how you like your food cooked. My 10 year didn’t like the fact she had to cook her own food. Food was good, you don’t think it’s going to fill you but it does. The best course was dessert, we did s’mores. Was amazing! So many choices to dip in the chocolate!

My wife and I love Melting Pot restaurants, loving the fondue concept altogether (and my wife loves the Parmesan Crusted Pine Nuts on the Caesar salad). The food was as expected and was wonderful. From the cheese fondue (which was made with extra attention to detail and personal preference by the server who brought it, who was not our waitress) to the dessert, we were not disappointed. The things that slightly disappointing did not turn us off of the restaurant, but we would love to see it different the next time. The waiting area is smaller than would be desirable, and we ended up standing next to the bar area where someone (who seemed to be an off-duty employee) was having loud conversation about frustrations with certain types of customers while smoking and blowing the smoke away from the bar area towards the waiting area. This was frustrating, but may have been out of the restaurants control (as I cannot guarantee that the woman was a server at The Melting Pot in particular). The most frustrating thing was that our waitress did not seem to be especially interested in maintaining our needs (drinks ran out and stayed out, time between courses was extremely long without explanation or apology, etc.). The server who brought our cheese fondue was much more attentive and interested in providing for us. We still love The Melting Pot and will eat here again if visiting the area in the future.

My husband and I have been looking forward to going to the melting pot for sometime. We have done fondue at home many years and couldn't wait to skip the prep work. Little did we know that Valentines day night we would spend dealing with the worst FOOD POISONING we have ever experienced. When we called to let them know they gave us the worst attitude. We had nothing else to eat that night however they claimed that we couldn't prove that it was their food.

Let me start by saying we've been to this location many times before and this will probably be our last. Had reservations for 8pm, arrived about 10 minutes early and waited 30 minutes to be sat. After sitting down we waited an additional 15 minutes for anyone to even greet us at our table. After more waiting we finally started the meal after about an hour of being there. Our meat was served before the salad which was again disappointing. The food was good as usual but the horrible service is not worth the money.

We arrived at 5:00 and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and helpful, all courses brought in a timely manner. We enjoyed our food, the kids really had a fun time with everything from cooking the meat to dipping in the cheese and chocolate. It comes at a cost higher than we normally would spend going out to eat but we spent over 2 hours there so it’s understandable it would be a higher price. They added in an extra dessert for my birthday which I thought was a nice touch.

We've been to this Melting Pot a few times and to be honest, it's been ok but not great. So much depends on who you get as a waiter. This time we were greeted by the rudest person who greeted us. Her name was Raley. I had issues finding parking so they wouldn't see my family who was waiting for me to find a parking spot. When I finally got upstairs, I was disappointed that they weren't already sitting down enjoying themselves. Raley told me that they wouldn't seat my family of 5 until I was there. I mentioned how long it took to find parking and she said, "That's not our problem." I was so upset I actually asked for her name. Thank goodness, our waiter, Hector was fantastic. He helped us find the perfect combination of food and even though he was really busy, he took care of us and made our dinner. My only advice to this restaurant is to get some different people who greet you. I almost walked out of the restaurant but Hector saved the day and the evening. Our visit was on 11/3/17.

The service was nice although they were slow. I really enjoyed going here. The cheese was wonderful(I got the green goddess!) and the salad was pretty good too! I loved the options for the main course, they were good! The chocolate was amazing!!! Just would like better seats next time! We be back soon.

Unfortunately, we had one of the worst dining experiences at this location. Made a reservation at 7, they told us they're running behind due to short staffed - totally understand & we're not in a hurry anyway. Got seated at 7:45, it was slow indeed but given the staffing situation, we were trying to be patient. By 9:15pm we still haven't get our main course and we're starved so I waved the waiter since the waiter was very tentative to all other tables except ours - he could simply overlooked or forgot our table, nothing personal. When I waved him down ask about the meal, he said "I know, I know..." and walked away before I can even finished my sentence. That, I did not expect. With his attitude and all, it's just not worth it. My husband called the manager told him what happened. He was apologetic but nothing he can do so he gave us the bill we paid and left. Being a regular customer for 14+ years, we have seen this place from great to so-so and now it's terrible. Not just about the service has gone downhill, the equipment, food quality and environment also downgraded. Restroom was never clean, the cheese fondue pot still have left-over chocolate from the previous customer, holes on cushioned seats, etc. The Arlington location is the completely opposite so I guess from now on that's where we need to go if we ever craving for a fondue. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g30141-d1852696-r814342892-The_Melting_Pot-Addison_Texas.html#

Fist time visit/date night. 5pm midweek reservation was perfect time, no crowd! Our server Rich was fabulous! We started with Wisconsin cheese, house salad, mixed it up and ordered the Classic for her and Steak Lovers for me, which all was delicious! We ended with Bananas Foster which failed to disappoint! While pretty pricey, the experience was quite enjoyable, tasty, and entertaining! Excellent date night spot!

I love this place! I have introduced Fondue to so many people and this is the ONLY place I take them! Don't go to the other Franchises....seriously, DON'T! The Melting Pot in Addison is the ONLY place to go! We went last night to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday. Seriously, Brian, our waiter was AMAZING!!!! Yes, we were a bunch of crazy girls being SILLY, but we had a hoot and Brian helped make that happen, plus a few other wait staff and managers as well. This is so the place where I will be getting proposed to! They have intimate settings (so, looking for that man, now). This is a great place for enjoying yourself. All my girlfriends had a hoot. Two, I introduced this place to them last year and the other three this time were totally AMAZED! I totally do great PR for this place and let people know they should always come here (ADDISON, location ONLY) for special occasions!

I took my girlfriend here for our 5 year anniversary and got the Ultimate Romance Package. The package itself was $160 which includes a 4 course meal, a bottle of wine or champagne, 2 champagne flutes to keep, a dozen roses, and a picture of us with a Melting Pot frame, and rose petals on the table with roses and floatings candles all preset on the table when we arrived. The service was great and they made sure we knew that if we wanted anything at all to let them know. The food was excellent as always. We had a private table in a corner which was perfect to celebrate our anniversary. The only problem was that the table was so small that the roses were right next to the pot and was being steamed on the entire dinner. The roses only lasted 2 more days before dying... The picture with picture frame was not impressive at all. One of the hostesses took our picture at the end of the night by a table up front that had some sign in it making for not too nice of a picture. She used a digital camera and the picture turned out very dark. The frame was just a paper frame with Melting Pot on it. Overall, I was happy with the food, service, and extras from the package. I just wish the roses lasted longer.

Passing through Dallas on our way to New Mexico, my wife and I wanted to try something different and remembered fondue from when we were younger. We weren't sure what or how to order based upon the internet menu. We both like seafood and saw a menu with mostly seafood. It was very good, we enjoyed it a lot. It was a slower paced dinner but that is what we wanted. We felt like we were on a date, an added benefit to our adventure. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. We do not know if there is a Melting Pot near our home, we liked this one so much we will probably visit every time we are in the area.

We have been to this Melting Pot location before and had a good experience, but this time it was exceptional! First, the waitress (Roxanne) was absolutely amazing. She was so professional, efficient and knowledgeable. She knew her menu and she definitely knew fondue. She explained the entire process (including the "rules" about not mingling the raw meats with the cooked ones) in a way that it hasn't been explained to us before. In addition, her timing was perfect. We never had to wait for our next course, nor did one course arrive too soon (before we had finished the other). It was all so perfectly executed! Another reason for the 5 stars on this trip, was the food- it was amazing. I ordered the French Quarter which comes with Cajun seasoned (but not overly spicy) sausage, chicken, shrimp, and steak. This was impressive, and I found it a little more exciting than "The Classic" which I usually order. The final course- the dessert - was amazing. We ordered the pure chocolate fondue. It comes with a plate of bite sized: rice krispie treats, brownies, choc chip brownie, jumbo marshmallows, pineapple, bananas, and strawberries. These were all very fresh and quite tasty, even with without dipping them in the chocolate fondue. Overall, this experience was an exceptional one. It restored our faith in the Melting Pot. We will definitely be back for more!

Fun spot to cook your meal and chat with friends in the process. Delicious meats to cook in broth and delicious fruit and cake to dip into pots of chocolate. Only downside is if you are really hungry then you have to wait every five minutes to take a bite.

I was dying to go to The Melting Pot. When we arrived they wouldn't seat us because the third guest had not arrived, the restaurant was empty, only 2 or three tables. When they finally seated us we had a beautiful dinner. The food was great, the wine not so mucho (the cork was dry). When we asked for dessert and another drink we were told the bar was closed. We never got a last call, even though they were still serving food. I do have to say, our waiter was very nice but we cancelled the chocolate fondue since we could not have our last drink with it.

My wife and I visited for her 40th birthday. While the atmosphere was romantic and we enjoyed the experience overall, it took almost an hour to be seated, even with reservations. Once we were, the service was subpar. We've been to many nice restaurants. What most have in common is service that makes you feel like your table is the most important in the building. At The Melting Pot, we felt unimportant, even forgotten at times.

The bottom line is you pay over $100 for two people for not much food that you cook yourself in boiling bouillon. Supposedly you can ask for more veggies during the appetizer course and more fruit and cake during the dessert course but the server REALLY begrudged them! …like he brought 3 tiny pieces of broccoli eventually and about 3 marshmallows after waiting. I don’t think that was going to break them! There were 6 of us trying to use two pots which was very difficult. We got a tiny bit of rationed cheese for the appetizer and less chocolate for the dessert. The turtle chocolate had seriously about 3 chopped pecans in it. I think 3 is their magic number, one per person per pot. Also the bathroom was very dirty. It was a special occasion and we did get a big plate that said happy birthday with two 1 inch pieces of cake on it. I’m not in a rush to go back there, if ever. Btw, there are a lot of steep stairs to get in which was difficult for my husband.

First, the atmosphere - Dark, candles, lots of booths, tables spaced for privacy. In spite of the size, and number of guests, not very noisy at all. Next, the service - Pretty good - waitress had been there before the closing and came back. She was pretty good 'table side', but we felt a little neglected when she didn't come back with water promptly and was slow w/ the wine order. The Food - actually pretty good - we did 3 orders of the 4-course experience - so it was a little pricey - but it included salads, cheese fondue for table, entree (individual, w/ a common cooking broth), and a common dessert fondue (we chose bananas foster - outstanding). Cheddar was outstanding - good bread for dipping and some ok veggies - the cheese was the star. Salads - not so good - limp - but nice portion and the dressing was outstanding. Entree - she got the pot warm and put in the vegetables (potatoes, broccoli and mushrooms) and they steeped a while. Waitress described how to properly cook the meats and seafood and warned us to NOT let raw meat contaminate the dining plates (and of course - don't eat w/ the fondue fork!). The portions of protein were deceptively large... because they were cut to fondue size each of us thought we'd be hungry - we were so surprised and full! We ended up cooking all the meat and were able to bring the left-overs home... enough for another meal. Dessert - bananas foster flambe was a star - very very good... too bad the pound cake was dreadful.. cheesecake was not so good either... BUT with our state of fullness and with the sweet strawberries and bananas for dipping we were ok. This restaurant can be perfect for a special 'date' night... allow plenty of time to savor the flavor.

My wife took me here to the Melting Pot as a surprise for my birthday! IT was a very romantic place - the food was a little pricy for me... only because they don't give you alot of bites for the buck! This is the only reason that I'm giving them 4 stars!

My wife and I decided this would make an excellent place to celebrate our anniversary, and it was. The food is good, my bad rating comes from the terrible service. First, I have never been to The Melting Pot and told the waitress. I think that's important for a place like this. She didn't seem to care, which is never good. Luckily, I could kind of tell what would be a good fit for us. I was right. The waitress came by multiple times and mentioned my water was out, said she would fill it, and never did. The whole meal I had no water. She was rude and a hollow. It wasn't just the water, it was her lack of caring that we didn't really know what we were doing, and the water. I will not ever go back to this location, I will, however, go back to another Melting Pot location.

I went to the melting pot with my boyfriend for his birthday this was the first time I had ever had fondue. I have to say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish our waiter Kevin was amazing he explained every thing to us so we understood how it was going to work he even gave us some recommendations on what to order. The food it’s self was delicious and my and my boy friend were very full when we left I would highly recommended this place and would definitely go back.

I had the wine dinner promotion, it was well thought out and all of the wines complimented the food very nicely. The bacon and jalapeno cheese fondue was excellent. Who doesn't love melted chocolate?

Love this place but it is pretty expensive especially if you have a pre-meal cocktail and a bottle of wine with dinner. This makes it a special occasion place only. Shame.

First of all the location is oddly placed above a sketchy looking 7/11. When you open the door there is a large window looking into a nail salon. For a moment I thought we were going to have to walk through. The Melting Pot is at the top of a winding stair case. I had made reservations at 8:45 for my girlfriend and I and we arrived a few minutes early. The host staff were young looking unprofessional kids. We were told to follow one of them to be seated only to stop dead in our tracks and told "hold on there is a mix up in the system". I thought "huh, what?!" We went back to the lobby to watch the kids mumble and argue amongst themselves apparently about our seating arrangement. We were not given any explanation as to what happened or why. We then were taken to out seat by not the original host who told us to wait. Ok, strike one, mood soured!! We bypass the large dining area and are taken to this tiny hallway looking area with two booths and the last booth being a nook in a corner (see photo). I couldn't have been more shocked to see I would be staring at a wall in a corner for my ambience and dining experience. I joked with the waiter who took our order who called this area "Lovers Lane". I found that to be less than humorous. I enjoy having a private intimate feel while I'm out but this just felt more like we were sitting in "time-out" in the corner having to stare at a wall. The waiter, Josh, can sense my displeasure at this point. Our order for drinks is placed then I noticed a stain on my brand new shirt is from chocolate on the rim of the table that hadn't been properly cleaned. Strike two! We placed our food order nothing horribly wrong with the food. So one star for food, but mediocre at best. The portion sizes be advised are basically 4 pieces of whatever entree option you choose. My girlfriend and I laugh our way through the meal and the alcohol certainly helped get us through. We decide to order the desert fondue and choose the flambet option with candied pecans. The waiter comes back with three small containers of his choice and says "sorry we were out of pecans". Ok why didn't you tell me that so I could have possibly selected another item instead of bringing out something I had no desire for. Strike three Melting Pot! Smh.. Last thing, we ask to take a few of our desert items home and the waiter brings back two lids and Saran wrap. "Sorry we ran out of bottom containers". I had to ask for a carry-out bag otherwise we would have been carrying this two lid contraption out in our hands. Overall for the price spent, $180, the experience was so disappointing. I will never go back to any Melting Pot. I felt it used to be somewhat upscale but ended up feeling very let down this occasion.

Online reservations for 4 at 7:00. We were seated at 7:20. Received our first course, a Swiss and Gorgonzola fondue that had a bitter wine after taste which all four agreed. 20 minutes later we received our salads. We completely exhausted our drinks, salads and fondue 30 minutes before stew pot for main course arrived. Another 20 minutes passed before main entree arrived. Restroom break was needed. My wife came out laughing, one of the closet seats was broken in half leaving one closet for all the women. She took a picture and sent it to her friends. I decided not to post this picture, it was tempting. 30 minutes later we were asking for the check so we could leave. They finally brought the check and the chocolate fondue. The three women were to exhausted and disgusted to eat the dark chocolate and strawberry fondue . Wow what a night. $75 a person would have been better spent elsewhere.

We decided to try out The Melting Pot while visiting Dallas. Our waiter was so patient and helpful. My teens and grade-schooler enjoyed the cheese and chocolate courses. My husband enjoyed the salad and entree. I enjoyed my Cesar salad. It was a fun experience and we had a lot of laughs.

Well, for me, this is a strange review. Typically, I would share how I felt about a restaurant....I liked it, I hated it or something in between. This is more like.....buyer beware. I am talking about the fondue restaurant "The Melting Pot" in Addison, Texas. For years my wife and I have been visiting one of our favorite restaurants which is very close to The Melting Pot. And each time we went by I would say, "We should go there sometime. But each time, the price would scare us off. I had called them years ago and they told us it would run about $50. a head. We just couldn't do it. Well, this past week we were celebrating my wife's big 5, 0 birthday and she had mentioned fondue a couple of times. I thought to myself, darn it!!! I'm taking my wife to the Melting Pot! And we're going to find out what that place is all about! So, we made our reservation and showed up a few days later. At first viewing, the place didn't really strike me as being all that attractive. I thought, well, the food's what matters. I'm ready to have a good time! The hostess sat us down in sort of a half-booth corner that barely accommodated 2 people. My beautiful wife being petite helped us to fit in. Because she is slender, she always brings a sweater into new places, just in case. I am, on the contrary, on the chunky side and do not worry about such things. However, it was so darn cold in there that I was barely able to sit there. Now that I have gotten that out of the way......every remark I make from here out will be about the food. The food. Where do I start? The restaurant is called The Melting Pot. But I suppose it would be more accurate to call it The Boiling Pot. Maybe it's me, but I thought that the whole meal would have something to do with melted cheese. Perhaps, several kinds of cheeses. An interesting variety of unique cheese flavors new to me. As it turns out the only cheese you will see at the Melting Pot is less that a cup of melted cheese accompanied buy a small collect of bread pieces and something else. I apologize, I can't remember at the moment what. The bottom line, cheese was only present for the appetizer. And not that much either. The less-than-a-cup of cheese was for both of us, mind you. We mopped the bowl with our bread and had bread left over. After quite a wait they brought out our main course. A collection of meats. Mostly chicken and beef with 6 "small" shrimp, 4 tiny slices of salmon, and because we ordered "THE BIG DEAL", a small lobster tail. There may have been more meat items on our skinny platter but, again I really can't remember. And some veggies. Along with these items were 6 or seven little cups holding about 2 table spoonfuls of sauces each. Surprisingly, the sauces were nice. There was a yogurt curry sauce that I wish I could buy by the jar. They also had a terriyaki sauce that was heavy with hoisin sauce. Very nice! I just wish there had been enough to adorn my morsels. I suppose I could have asked for more. Well, we finished that up for the most part and then waited quite a while for someone to bring desert. When desert arrived we received a small tray of cake cubes, strawberries, a few marshmallows and a few banana slices. Again, not a lot of chocolate. And again, we whipeed the bowl clean with cake left over. My assessment above of POOR was solely based on the food. If we take into account the cost of this fabulous meal, it would be rated LESS than Terrible. I was shocked by the end of the evening. We sat in our ice cold chairs (with our only light source constantly fading up and down---that can mess with your head) for over 3 hours. Our appetizer was a small amount of one kind of cheese which was over too soon. Then our main course was just us holding our meats in boiling water (vegetable bouillon) trying not to poison ourselves with under cooked chicken, etc.. Following that up was a tad of sweet chocolate, which tasted good while it lasted. The menu declared the cost of our meal at $104. for 2 people. Somehow, when the bill got to us, it was $125.. The tip brought it to almost $150.. I did not leave the restaurant with the word "Fondue" ringing in my ears. When I consider the really great places we already know and adore within a stone's throw of the Melting Pot that we could have enjoyed for HALF the cost. It makes my head spin. Well, in the spirit of full disclosure, let me say this. Every one on staff was kind to us. Our waitress was fine. As we were leaving (after 3 hours and 10 minutes) it looked as if the restaurant was mostly full. And everyone seemed to be having a good time. I would assume that at least some of those people are repeat customers. I don't know why they were there. But I can say (not to be mean) why I would never throw my money away like that again knowing what I now know. And I can't find any king of angle that would allow me to recommend The Melt Pot to anyone I care about. What an operation. This leads me back to a question concerning certain kinds of restaurants that keeps coming up. Why does it cost MORE to eat at places where the customers COOK their own food. I would suggest that the Melting Pot expertly cook my food then serve it with at lease 3 different kinds of cheeses, during the appetizer AND the main course. That way I don't have to spend another $150. just to sample another ONE of their cheeses during the appetizer. Normally, I would end a review of this sort by saying I didn't like it that much or that I didn't think it was a good value. But at the Melting Pot's prices, I would rather take a punch to the stomach than eat there again for free. Fool me once....!

I know this place has been here for years and it certainly has that feel when you first walk in (not in a good way). The restaurant itself is slightly dated, too dark and feels dingy. Service needs to be much faster and precise since the eating experience itself can be quite lengthy. I can see the attraction of this place, but it certainly leaves much to be desired. The "melting pot" approach works best with the cheesy fondues and chocolaty endings, but I am not too crazy about boiled food. Yep, you have to boil your meats and seafood in an extremely hot broth - and time them yourself. They bring your main entrees in the raw and this in itself can cause some "risk". The servers are left to running plates and filling drinks, so when that doesn't go well the experience can really drag on far too long. Too slow, to raw and too much work! They get a YUM YUM out of 5 YUMs.

My boyfriend and I enjoyed dinner here on Valentine's Day! We had a 9:15 reservation and I believe we were sat exactly at 9:15. We arrived a smidge beforehand so we enjoyed a cocktail at the bar. I will say the drink was mixed very strong and the waitstaff seemed annoyed that they were there. I get it...9pm on Valentine's Day is annoying but keep your comments to yourself is all I would have to say. BUT! It got so much better. We were seated and Cade (with a C) was our outstanding waiter. He explained how the set menu worked, asked if we had dinned there before (which we hadn't) then walked us through everything like a true professional. 3 hours later we were stuffed to the brim and happy as clams. I could not believe when I asked Cade if he could go home after us and he let me know that people were still being seated...at almost midnight!!! That to me is a sign of a good restaurant. I think Cade deserves the biggest pat on the back for being energized and more than happy to be at his job even at that hour. I know he stood out to us as what that restaurant wants it's servers to portray. Thank you for the wonderful night!

If you like a twist to your eating affair Try this out It is quite different than anything you will ever experience The atmosphere is very nice The quality of the food is good The twist is you cook your our food in a hot pot of oil I guess that brings the name the melting pot to the Brand

My best friend and I (along with our husbands) celebrate our birthdays together every year. Since they had never been to the Melting Pot - we decided to go there for her dinner. We have been to the one in Houston several times and love it. However, we absolutely LOVED this restaurant AND David - who was our server, educator and entertainer. His recommendations were perfect - we enjoyed several new selections on their menu and truly - everything was perfect!!

We went to celebrate a birthday. We made reservations for our party of nine filled out their large party agreement and showed up on time. We were taken to a room where we were offered a two table arrangement. These tables were separated by at least 5 feet. They could not sit us together. There was a large table available but they refused to sit us there. Management insisted that giving us the large table was impossible. We left and went to another restaurant.

nasty. cheese was lumpy .tasteless stale cold bread. not fresh fruit helpful staff with directions to go to better place to eat

We used to come 4-6 times per year under the previous management. The manager (Dee) knew our name, always stopped by, gave my wife a complimentary beverage on almost every visit - and overall made us feel like valued regular of 20 years. Since they reopened under new management, our visits have definitely been less frequent as the quality of food and the overall experience have declined greatly. On my recent visit - my check, the men's room and the front door of the restaurant ALL promoted a $20 gift certificate in return for a $10 St Jude Hospital donation. The manager told me that it was not longer valid and did not honor posted signs in the restaurant. After I pointed out that it was also on the door she offered to "try to find one" but that I would have to use it in the next two weeks. What a terrible customer service fail. How can a restaurant not honor posted signs?!? Our waitress was great but definitely overwhelmed as the continuous cost cutting measures also seem to include triple seating her with three tables simultaneously. Once upon a time this was a luxurious, high end dinner experience. Now, the cost is the same (if not more) but customers are victims of a management that is only interested in maximizing profits at the expense of food quality and guest experience.

If you happen to have a choice, request Andi! Some days she serves tables, others she's at the bar, but she is amazing and will make you smile! For dessert, I highly recommend the Creme Brûlée! I sometimes go in just for dessert - always worth it!

My friend and I did the Moonlight at the Melting Pot menu - a cheese course, a chocolate course, and a bottle a wine - and would highly recommend it. The wait staff was very nice and knowledgeable about their menu.

We had reservations, when we got there we had to wait despite the restaurant being almost empty. The service was not great, we ordered two adult entrees and two child meals, they only brought one bread and apple board and only one salad, when I asked why they said they didn't realize we had ordered two entrees. They never did bring another bread and apple serving or another salad despite charging us full price for both entrees. The child's meal was supposed to come with a special dessert that was never served either. The server was not able to tell us about any of the wines and was not knowledgeable about the different cooking broths or styles. Lots of reviews talk about small portion sizes, this is true, the portion of all the meat was probably less than 6 oz total. Also the filet was very tough and didn't seem like it was filet.

Took an evening outing with my beloved. We dressed up and well made reservations. As we arrive there is complimentary valid parking which is wonderful. The melting pot is upstairs and could use some renovating for the entrance right as it does not give rich vibe and how the section is split by a breezeway which indeed was very dirty and stinky. The sitting area was romantic enough to get frisky with my new gf and our fondue meals was fabulous a bit on the pricey side but work it since the lights are deemed and things can happen. Best was the white cherry French wine. Will take my next first date there again

Had a quick cheese fondue at the bar before a comedy show. Bartender was very nice, hostess was not.

We went NYE to celebrate a birthday. In spite of having reservations for 7:30, we weren’t seated until 9:00. While we waited at the bar, we learned that they had run out of nearly all the champagne and quite a few of other drinks so the bartenders had to experiment to make drinks to sell. When we finally got back to our table we waited again to meet our waiter—we finally gave up and spoke to a manager. The manager blamed the franchise owner for always over booking for holidays—but there were also entire sections of the place that didn’t have anyone sitting at the tables in spite of the wait in the bar. Clearly they didn’t have enough people working. Is it the franchise owner or the manager? Whose to tell, but the real losers are the customers trying to spend a special evening at this poorly run establishment.

Having had fondue in Switzerland and being one of my favorite dishes, I was excited to spend date night here. We went during a week night. The restaurant is on a first floor of a strip mall with other establishments. They do not make it too evident how to access but you get the idea looking for stairwells. There was no one in the bar area and we did not have reservations. It was fairly obvious upon arrival that they were not needed. We were greeted by the Hostess who seemed to be "not all there". Despite the totally empty reception area she asked for our full name!? I have been to many restaurants and have never been asked that above all in an empty establishment and having advised that we did not have a reservation. We were still told to wait so we went to the empty bar. The bartender took some time to come out, I had a sangria (excellent by the way) and Hubby had a beer. It was still happy hour and the bar tender, once he got there, was really delightful. While having our drinks, the hostess called us twice to follow her to the table only to inform us, twice, to wait. Did I mention that this area was empty? The bartender told us that because of the type of meal that there had to be enough servers to attend which is fine but "get your act together" .Finally, we got to our table. We were joking with the server that you would actually need a power point presentation to understand the menu. It is incomprehensible without the explanation and it is based on the number of courses and content... We took the 4 course meal. This is a fondue restaurant so in the middle of the table there is a burner where they set the fondue pot. Needless to say this is no place for kids. We started off with the Swiss fondue. Very close to the real thing! Followed by a small salad and then the meat/fish fondue. My husband had only meat fondue I had a combination of meat, chicken and shrimp. In the pot you can choose oil or different types of broth. We opted for the oil. They use canola oil. Canola oil has a disagreeable smell while cooking above all at a high temperature... sunflower does not. The chunks of meat , poultry and fish are served seasoned on a platter and accompanied by different sauces. These were not too creative: The usual sweet and sour, cream and herbs, etc. and then 2 batters (this I had not seen before and I did take the idea for home). The tempura was excellent. But there was a green batter that was too sweet and that we did not touch. The dessert fondue was Hershey"s dark chocolate served with marshmallows, pieces of pound cake, strawberries, etc. Hershey chocolate is ok but there are other chocolates which are a better choice for fondue.. Our service was very good and the Manager came by to see how everything was towards the end of the meal. The quality was good but far from great. The portions are "small New York" to give you an example the salad (small side size) is priced at $8.00 on its own, a little pricey for tossed greens. With the 4 course you will be far from hungry but the menu pricing and the portions just did not seem to line up, not overall but as items...I enjoyed the extended meal and the ambiance. In this sense the restaurant is expensive but not overpriced. The food is ok but far from high quality. This is an "out of the ordinary" night out. and I would recommend it as such. As far as I am concerned once is enough.

This is a difficult review for me because actually had a great time there and the food was actually very good. The management of this place does not exist. The staff is all over the place they are so unprofessional and poorly trained that they have no chance of getting good reviews. I will say they try hard but without proper training 😱 what a cluster. From the moment of arrival and not being able to find reservation and then waiting at bar, the bartender was very unprofessional to then our waitress that was very nice but so flustered and unprofessional for a dinner that is $150 for two people. I would expect that service at a chain burger restaurant. Now on the food side the food was fantastic very interactive, we had a great time and you will need to plane 3 hours minimum for this meal. Ours took 3.5 hours from arrival to departure and at least an hour could have been reduced with some organization.

You know how many restaurants want you to hurry up and eat so you can clear the table for the next party? Melting Pot is NOT that restaurant. You actually get to linger over dinner and enjoy fresh and delicious food doing so. Indulge! Have the cheese fondue, salad, entree, and chocolate fondue. Go hungry! You will leave feeling you have had a special night out. The service is par excellence and quick to inform and teach if this is a new experience.

Have Ben a couple of times now. Pricey and that is one of the reasons we have only gone a couple of times. This time was for a "milestone" birthday celebration for my wife. We did the four course meal with the associated wine flight (3 oz pours of a complimenting wine with each course). Seems simple enough but, like said pricey ($140 before tips). Not sure what drives the prices so much but, because of that Melting Pot will remain a very special occasion place for us.

This is our second time here. Honestly, we liked it the first time better, when we got the 3 or 4 course meal. This time we weren't as hungry, so just got the cheese and main course. We had to switch tables because we felt squished in and the family next to us was allowing their child to watch some tv show or movie really loud. When we asked to move, they tried to put us on the other side of the same party. Ended up just 2 or 3 tables away, so that was annoying. The food was okay this time - not memorable. I remember the steak melting in my mouth. But it seemed tough this time. We do enjoy the experience. Every table seems intimate for small parties. There are also big round tables for big parties. The cheese was good, but slightly off tasting. I signed up for emails right before we went as it was my birthday. I got the birthday coupon for chocolate strawberries the day after we got home. Bummer.

Do not go to this location if you have more than 2 people. I have been to the Arlington location several times and always had a good time. We always go with a 4 person group and are seated at a table with 2 burners. We always get the 4 course menu. We are given 2 types of cheeses, 2 types of chocolate and 2 sets of side dippers. We are charged the 2 person 4 course meal price twice. The total comes to about $200 or so. Today we went to the Addison location expecting the same experience. When we arrived we were seated at a table with only one burner. I asked the server if we would be charged less since we only had 1 burner and would not be given the options for 2 different cheeses or chocolate. I was told that we would not be charge any less even though we are being served less food. I ended up paying $253 for the same meal a party of two would of payed half that. I would of been better if I would of separated our group and had 2 different tables for the same cost

Waiter was insulting. Didn’t bring spoons for the sauces. Had to ask him to bring more broth 3 times because it had evaporated. Chocolate was cold when it was brought out. Manager didn’t really care.

The service was terrible, they took our food order before we could order our drinks, we wanted to have a few adult beverages but did not get them until 30 minutes after arriving, the whole process took way too long, it was over 3 hours

We went for lunch on Sunday because we were in town for the the weekend and had never been. We needed lunch and something to kill a bit of time so we went here. We didn't know we needed a reservation for lunch. We got there to put our name in and the restaurant was empty!!! They made us sit and wait 30 minutes, when they had 5 people in one booth and that was it!! We were so mad we almost walked out but didn't feel like finding somewhere else to eat and we had time to kill until another event we had planned so we waited! Glad we did! Food was pretty good and the experience was awesome! But God help you if you try to get in without a reservation!

Have eaten here many times and am never dissapointed. The food and staff is awesome. Try the ying yang martini and the Gummi bear martini. We went on a double date and everyone had a blast

Want to pay people so you can cook your own food? This is the place for it. Like dipping food in cheese or chocolate and then eating it? This is the place for that too. Seriously, it's always fun to eat here (Please do make reservations) The choices are broad but can run very expensive if you aren't careful (I see no reason to fondue lobster when chicken will do) And the dessert choices are, fantastic! Best for parties of 4 or more to share and have fun.

We have been to melting pots all over Texas for the last 15 years. Specifically, this location for our anniversary on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, this location we probably won't be back to. It really missed the spot during our anniversary date this year. Made the reservation several days before with the touch of romance package. Upon arrival, they couldn't find ours. They finally found a reservation and asked if it was ours only to mess up the surprise roses. The candles weren't lit and the light was too bright and we finally asked for it to be dimmed. I specifically stated it was our anniversary which in the past would get some recognition. There was no mention of it and really took the specialness out of our night. The waitress was very nice, but we had to wait unusually long in between courses. The drink was not good at all. We will not return. We gave it two stars because we love the food. The cheese and chocolate are phenomenal. The place is just not special anymore.

We recently visited, celebrating a birthday. Food was good, and plenty. Waiter was attentive and accommodating. Just a long meal, which is great, but lingered on too long. We had a party of 8 and it was a 3 hour ordeal. We had a great time together though and always love this place for a special occasion

My husband, daughter and myself ate at The Melting Pot tonight February 23, 2013. We had reservations at 6:45pm and were finally seated at 7:15pm. We started with Traditional Swiss fondue for 3. The fondue never really got hot. We did receive a BIG bowl of cubed bread,(had half a bowl left over), 2 pieces of broccoli, 2 baby carrots and 1 piece of cauliflower, and 6 pieces of a granny smith apple. We then ordered 3 California salads. The plate was saturated with black walnut dressing and a minimal amount of salad greens, some minced tomatoes, no candied pecans and you needed a magnifying glass to find the gorgonzola cheese. The size of the salads was like taking a normal size salad and splitting it three ways. We were still charged for 3 salads. The entrees also have been reduced with a minimal amount of meat. We ordered flaming turtle fondue for dessert which again did not get very hot. We have eaten at The Melting Pot many times in the past. After tonight's experience we will never go back. It is expensive to eat there but they have drastically reduced the portions and we definitely will not return. The service has diminished as much as the portion size. We never got our water or iced tea refilled.

Great place to go for fun! Love going here with my husband. It is so nice to spend several hours visiting, preparing food, nice wine selection and the staff is knowledgeable.

My sister said that she has done a fondu before at home. I told her that's not the same. So as a way of celebrating her birthday on her 1st visit to Dallas we took her to 1 of our favorite romantic ambiance resturants, Ok we did have a 15 month old little one with us. But that didn't stop us having a nice celebratory birthday dinner. The waiters where great in bringing us an extra milk after my nephew christened the table with his cup of milk. They even brought us more croutons for him to chew on since he was getting his back teeth. The waiters explained the whole process to my sister as she had never been to this type of experience. Hubby and I come here a few times a year as a treat to ourselves. The 1st course of cheese was just delicious. They mixed the cheese right in front of us. Explained the fresh veggies and said if we needed more just ask. When the cheese was done they cleaned up that pot. Then they brought out the oil to cook the meat. I love how they have a cover to prevent scalding if they trip. The meat was presented in such a great way. Again the waiters explained the process again and added some of the seasonings to the oil for the meat. Can we just pause and say Yum!?! After taking our time making our meats and talking they took away our dirty plates and gave us the dessert menu. At this point I always want to order 1 of everything on the menu, it's always so hard to choose. There was a couple new dessert options so we choose one of those. Again they brought out a pot, mixed the chocolate, liquids, and nuts *not peanuts* as we are allergic. Then there was a bunch of yummy fruits, cakes and treats to dip away. The best part was that they did bring a small piece of cake with a candle on it for my sister. We sang her happy birthday quietly as not to embarrass her. By the time we left I had a happy sister, a satisfied 15 mo old nephew with chocolate on his face and memories that will last a long time. I do recommend making reservations as they can get busy on holidays and weekends. Expect this to be a slow relaxed dinner. We usually spend about 1 1/2 - 2 1/2 hours here.

Absolute best place on earth - honest! We have been going to the Melting Pot for years. It is simply my favorite place to eat. We were crushed when the Addison location closed down and went as far as Arlington to fill the fondue gap. We were absolutely ecstatic when they reopened, and pleasantly surprised with the new ownership. The new owner even happened to be in (I believe she's from Cali) and came by and chatted with us one night for almost 30 minutes. She was awesome! Can't say enough about this place. Blake is the rockstar bartender who knows what we want even before we do. Gabe is our adorable server who just knocks himself out every time with something special for us, even though we get the same thing every time. They are so wonderful and exemplify excellent service. The food is so good we'd be back anyway, but the service is seriously fantastic!

Good day. My name is Lana and I am an independent author! I love visit new places and write reviews about it! If you are interested in my creative writing about your place please contact me paradigmauspeha2020@gmai…, @paradus_creator Once we visited Melting pot (Addison), the premier fondue restaurant, we promised to come back soon. Melting Pot is a leading polished casual dining franchise with 45 years of history. Honestly, I was surprised my 13-year-old son would pick a fondue restaurant for his birthday! Any way creamy cheese fondue and chocolate fondue are his favorites! And we all liked the idea of cooking for ourselves. It is an amazing idea! You talk, enjoy the meal and meanwhile you boil the ingredients! You can see the whole process, smell it, while cooking! My son was excited to cook for himself and manage with time! Fondue is a Swiss national dish. Once me and my husband tried authentic Swiss fondue in Luzern, Switzerland. Comparing with American experience I must say Melting pot provides an excellent fondue culinary in North America. Melting pot for us is a small particle of Switzerland in Texas. Hot melting cheese and chocolate awaken memorable romantic moments. We went into a restaurant which is in Addison. The manager and hostess had greeted us as special guests. They said Happy birthday to my son, was hospitable and kind! Moving towards the table I noticed a big bar area and a wine room. I loved the idea of a wine room very much. I could enter the room and see the variety of fine wines from the wine list. It is very important for me to see the bottle which I have ordered. Italian Pinot Grigio "Confetti" was a great choice! Founded in 1975, Melting Pot has offered a unique fondue dining experience for more than 40 years. As the premier fondue restaurant franchise, Melting Pot has more than 100 restaurants in 31 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico. Additionally, there are more than 17 international locations in development. Known for offering a variety of fondue cooking styles and unique entrées, Melting Pot's menu also features cheese fondues, salads, fine wines, and chocolate fondue desserts. Melting pot is a franchise restaurant. You can find it in many states. We have ordered The Complete Experience for Two A four-course experience for two including your choice of cheese fondue, salad, entrée, and chocolate fondue. Plus, extra for our son. I would not say it is pricey. Quality food and service are worthy! All entrees are served with an array of pot's signature dipping sauces. Sauces pop up the taste of food! The menu shows cooking time for each ingredient. Our server was very sweet and attentive to everything. Moving fast and taking care! He brought a little cake for my son! At The Melting Pot, fondue truly becomes a memorable dining experience where we discovered all the ingredients for an unforgettable culinary adventure including a relaxed atmosphere, private tables, attentive service, fine wines, and signature fondue courses. The Melting Pot experience is unique because you choose your entire dining experience from four courses of cheeses, salads, entrees, and chocolates. No matter the occasion or how many courses you choose to partake in, The Melting Pot provides an unforgettable, interactive dining experience that turns moments into memories. This review was written on my 22 wedding anniversary. We wanted to go somewhere different and we had never been to a fondue restaurant before. The restaurant is on the second floor above a 7eleven. If you need to take an elevator you'll need to park in back. The service was intermittent but not up to the standard of other similarly priced places. The food was good but not memorable or priced appropriately. From sitting down just after they opened at 5, we had four courses and walked out 2 hours later. We're glad we went to experience it but won't return.

This place was amazing. Our server Bryan was so chirpy and his service was excellent !!! Kudos to him for being very professional and so bubbly!!! This restaurant surely would be an ideal dinner spot for a special occasion than for a casual dinner(or both could work) You gota let your server explain to you what you are in store for ...so that you know the drill! Their cheese fondue is the highlight I guess and it was fricking delicious!! The meat options and shrimp in the entrees are of such high quality. My husband and I loved the garlic lemon shrimp, cajun beef and the pork we selected. We were sooooo full we skipped desert - the famous chocolate fondue ( next time maybe) Overall a wonderful melting pot experience! Thank you for an amazing dinner! We will be back for sure.👍👍

We were celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary and wanted to do something a bit more than the usual date night experience. I had a restaurant.com coupon for $25 that we bought in 2011 so we decided to try The Melting Pot for this occasion. We made a reservation through Open Table and noted that it was our anniversary. We did encounter some traffic getting there, and tried to call but the number had changed. We arrived about 5:40pm and our reservation was for 5:30. The hostess was very pleasant and assured us it was no problem since they were just beginning to seat people. She wished us a happy anniversary too. It was actually almost 6PM when we got seated. We got seated in a very dimly lit annexed section of the restaurant, which at first glance seemed would be a nice intimate location. That would soon change as it also seemed to be the area where large groups were ALSO seated. Our romantic date ended up being overwhelmed with LOTS of loud talking and the sounds of whining children from the table next to us only to be outdone by the extra large group of approximately 14 unsupervised high school students who were celebrating a birthday. It sounded like we were on an episode of Glee with their rousing renditions of songs from The Sound of Music and other theatrical productions. This group just got louder and louder to the point that their (extremely patient) waitress was literally raising her voice to dole out fondue 101 instructions to the group. The acoustics of this secondary dining room were so AWFUL that we could CLEARLY hear the conversations around us better than our own. So much for ambience. Our waiter was a very pleasant guy named Taylor. He was very knowledgeable and confident in his job performance. He was also quickly overwhelmed as it got quite busy, but he never waivered in his level of service. He apologized if there was any delay and we told him we were in no real hurry since we were celebrating. He appreciated our easy going reply. As we waited for our 4 courses we could hear the disenchantment emanate from other guests regarding the wait time between reservations and actual seating. One family even got up and left because they were HIGHLY disgruntled about the location they were seated in...demanded to be seated in the "other" room...were mad because they were told it would take even LONGER to be seated "there"...and because of the acoustical issues I mentioned earlier, we had to completely halt OUR conversation until that got resolved. As far as the food... We started with our shared cheese fondue selection: BOURBON BACON CHEDDAR CHEESE FONDUE...lager beer and a splash of Jim Beam Devil’s Cut Bourbon, garlic, mustard powder, Worcestershire and our cheddar-Swiss cheese blend finished with chopped bacon pieces...this was REALLY good. It was a limited time Featured Fondue selection. I would have been very pleased to make THIS my meal. The cheese fondue options all looked appealing to us. For the next course we got our salads. I ordered the CALIFORNIA...Mixed baby salad greens, Roma tomatoes, candied pecans, and Gorgonzola cheese with Raspberry Black Walnut Vinaigrette. It was really really nice! My DH ordered THE MELTING POT HOUSE SALAD...Crisp romaine and iceberg lettuce, cheddar cheese, fresh tomatoes, crispy croutons and sliced egg with Peppercorn Ranch Dressing. He was not wowed by it, especially since it was their signature house salad. It wasn't bad...just not really noteworthy either. Because of the coupon we brought we only had two options for our entrée selection. We chose to get one of each and share with each other since we HAD to order an entrée each. We got FONDUE FUSION...Cold water lobster tail accompanied by teriyaki-marinated sirloin, Memphis-style BBQ pork medallion, honey orange duck breast, and wild mushroom sacchetti, and FONDUE DELIGHT...Premium filet mignon and a succulent cold water lobster tail paired with all-natural breast of chicken, Pacific white shrimp, and wild mushroom sacchetti...Our entrees came with 6 dipping sauces too...let's see, I think they were a seasoned cream cheese based sauce, a gorgonzola based sauce, a yellow curry sauce, cocktail sauce, a teriyaki type sauce, and a sweet pepper sauce...I think I got those all correct. We opted to use the house specialty COQ AU VIN...Burgundy wine infused with fresh herbs, spices and mushrooms for our cooking style for our meats. I also enjoyed their house Garlic and Wine Seasoning that was brought to the table. The meats were good...I can't complain. The sauces, that I really thought all SOUNDED good, were actually quite bland. I expected to like the curry sauce the least and ended up liking it BEST. I was just underwhelmed with my first experience with a cheese-less fondue...this girl really just likes her CHEESE fondue the best. We found we were actually getting full with the our meal even though when you see the plates of raw meats brought out, it looks more like a snack. We had several meaty morsels that got cooked and packaged for a later time at home because we knew we still had dessert coming. So for dessert...I really had my heart set on the WHITE CHOCOLATE CRÈME BRÛLÉE...a fondue version of the classic French dessert including white chocolate and caramelized sugar...another limited time featured fondue. But my DH won this one and we got the house specialty FLAMING TURTLE...milk chocolate, caramel and candied pecans flambéed tableside. I am just not a flambé enthusiast. But it WAS our anniversary so I took one for the team. With your chocolate fondue you get the following dippers...bananas, strawberries, Rice Krispie treats, brownies, pound cake, cheesecake, and two kinds of marshmallows...Oreo covered and graham cracker covered. My DH really enjoyed this fondue...I still wish I had the Crème Brule fondue instead. So overall we were there for just over 3 HOURS. We are not the folks who usually frequent "event" dining establishments very often, so this seemed like a long time to us. (Now after seeing OTHER reviews I see that we weren't alone?) IF ONLY those 3 hours had been a relaxing opportunity to ENJOY our night out without having to feel we were seated at the kids table in the other room at Thanksgiving while all the adults got to sit in the fancy room...we might have had a better experience. But based on this one visit, I would say it is highly unlikely we would return. The price we paid commanded a way better atmosphere. It will be far cheaper AND more enjoyable to just pull out MY fondue pot, create my own cheese-based concoctions, and invite the friends of my 18 and 20 year old daughters over to loudly play video games and karaoke while we lounge in our PJs at the kitchen island... Just really disappointed with the expectation vs. reality of what I had built up to be a special night out.

An awesome place to celebrate our 20th Anniversary! The Atmosphere was very quaint and romantic and the Service was incredible. Love the food and the experience really helped make the evening special.

We had an awful experience. After 2 1/2 hours we walked out. Many other tables came and went. The cheese fondue wasn't worth eating. The salads weren't even prepared as described in the menu. Our burners didn't work. We left without having dinner. Our waiter kept telling us to be patient. Really. We walked out, leaving a message for the manager to call. That didn't happen either. We won't go back.

Love the Melting Pot! Always a great meal! Can't beat the price too! Fun time cooking in the fondue pot. Love the artichoke and spinach appetizer can't be beat!

The concept is unique, but the food is just okay. I didn't feel too great after eating there and my hair and clothes smelled like smoke. The booth we were seemed a little dirty and the decor is dark and outdated. Maybe to hide something?? It's also overpriced. I would not return.

I am no expert on fondue, but I thought it was a very fun (albeit pricey) and tasty experience. I had a Daddy/Daughter date night with a party of five. We had reservations for 7:30 on a Sunday evening, but when we showed up early, we were able to be seated within about 10 minutes. All of my girls thought that the food was outstanding and really enjoyed it. We caught a special deal called the "Skinny Dipping" menu that included a salad, entree, and dessert for just over $20. I would definitely go back and my youngest daughter is already trying to plan when we can return.

I agree with whoever said the location was odd. I had forgotten about the steep staircase since my last visit many years ago. We were greeted by a friendly hostess. And Caitlyn was our server. She was really friendly, explained how the menu worked, and waited patiently while we were indecisive. Once we made our decision she promptly started our meal. The food was tasty and the portion sizes were right for us. She brought extra drinks before we ran out. Overall I enjoyed the experience, but the stairs are hard on elderly people or people with health issues.

This place is Just not clean.. Food is overprice... For the type of place.. The forks, the foundeu sticks, the floors, the bathrooms everything was dirty..the restaurante Looks like a 10 menu place... the waiter was nice and we end up staying and eating there ... But will never go back. Will rather spend my money somewhere else.

We went to the Melting Pot for dinner tonight for my birthday. Let me start by saying our birthdays all fall within 6 weeks of each other. We went to Flemings in Plano twice, excellent both times. I chose tonight and from the second we checked in it was a mistake. The two girls at the hostess stand were disinterested at best. We had a reservation at 6 and didn't get sat until 6:30. We just left after leaving most of our chocolate course on the table, mostly because were done. Service was not good, but that was not our servers fault. He was oversat. But it still didn't get any better. We won't be back. There are too many other great restaurants in DFW to have this place treat you like you are doing them a favor. Hard pass.

My wife and I come to this melting pot every year for our anniversary! It is always a treat! This year was no exception. The service is good. They leave you be so know that before hand. They are courteous and wait on you when needed but do not hound you. The food was good, especially the shrimp! The cheese and chocolate fondue was exceptional! It is pricey but the romantic atmosphere is worth it.

This restaurant is expensive for fondue but the food is excellent. We went with the family for a special occasion. We had two types of cheese fondue and both were excellent. We also had two types of chocolate fondue for dessert and they were great as well. We had started out with salads The capreese salad was terrific. The restaurant is on the second floor via a steep set of stairs. If anyone has trouble walking there is an elevator tucked in behind the building but it proved to be helpful.

It has been several years since we have dined at a Melting Pot, and we were not disappointed. One thing that has improved is that each person dining can choose their own entree for the 4 course meal. The service was great, but expect a meal to last between 2-3 hours if you do all 4 courses (I would recommend this to get the full experience).

We walked in at 5pm on a saturday evening just wanting to have desert. The place was empty except for a few people at the bar. We were told we couldnt be seated until 10 pm as we didnt have a reservation. We didnt ask, but was informed food was not being served at the bar "tonight". We would have understood if the place was packed, if we wanted to eat a full meal, or if it was later in the evening.

When arrived at 7:30PM on a Thursday evening and were seated right away (we had made reservation ahead of time). The menu was explained to us, as we had never been to a fondue type restaurant before. Our waitress, I think her name was Julia (she was also training another new hire), did an fantastic job. I was skeptical before of the reviews we had read, but it was ours sons choice to have his birthday dinner there. Our party of 4 had a great meal, we choice the 4 course...it included the cheese fondue (several to choose from, we had the cheddar and was delicious!!!), choice of salad (we had Caesar and the house salad and the dressing was so good), then came the entrée (we had several types of beef, shrimp, chicken, pork all seasoned well) all of which had a good flavor. Then came dessert we chose the ying yang (part milk chocolate, part white chocolate) YUM we had so many things to dip with (strawberries, rice crispy treats, pound cake, bananas, brownie, snickerdoodle cake). Tip: cook up all your meat and take some of it home with you in order to save room for the dessert. As others have mentioned it is a bit pricey so be prepared for that. The price for our party of 4 (2 adults and 2 teen boys) was $168 plus tip, we did not order any adult beverages. All 4 of us had the 4 course meal, 2 of us had "The Land & Sea" and 2 had "The Classic" entrees. My only negative feedback would be the entrance is not marked and a bit difficult to find. Enter from the front of the building facing Beltine Rd. and go up the flight of stairs to the entrance on the 2nd level. Also, one of the two restroom stalls in the ladies room was out of order.

Happy Mother's Day?? In the case of The Melting Pot Addison that was an emphatic NO! I made the reservation for a Mother's Day lunch and movie a month ago knowing that after having a decent experience at the Arlington location, my son's and I would have a great day but the manager at the Addison location made sure that was not in the cards. When I made the reservation I had the option of choosing the prix fix Mother's day menu or the standard menu. I chose the standard menu because I am not a fan of boiled meat and the grilled or even the tempura options were not available on the Mother's day menu. When we were seated we were only given the Mother's day menu so I rolled with it but told the server that I wanted the grilled option and not the boiled options that were the only cooking choices. The server said he would have to check with his manager because grilling was not available. The manager came to the table and after explaining that I did not enjoy boiled meats and wanted the grilled cooking option he explained that was not available. I explained that when I made the reservation I chose that I wanted the standard menu he said that option was not available through reservations... call a Mother a liar on Mother's Day??? I think not. (see attached screen shot of reservation options) After holding back the mom tears and weighing weather or not I wanted to choke down boiled meat and pay dearly for it or leave and take my chances on trying to be a walk in somewhere else, I chose the latter knowing it would be a gamble and had a perfectly lovely experience at the nearby Outback Steakhouse. (thank you Outback). Needless to say, I won't return to this location should I ever decide to go to The Melting Pot ever again. Perhaps Simply Fondue will be the better option next time I feel like dipping something in to cheese or chocolate.

I do enjoy fondue. It's festive and feels exciting. We were a group of 7 ladies celebrating a birthday. After being seated, we seem to have been forgotten. We waited so long, some went to the bar to get drinks. After our cheese was served, we had to wait again while our server found utensils for us. Our table had not been set before we were seated. The food is very tasty. We loved the Bacon and Brie cheese. It would have been especially good with apples, but they had run out. One can never go wrong w the Wisconsin Trio. I do miss the rosemary bread for dipping. We did not pay the additional $5/person for "artisanal dippers". The California salad is sweet and tasty. We all enjoyed it. The Flaming Turtle chocolate fondue was sans pecans...again they had run out. The Dark and Dulce fondue was very good. I enjoy this experience. I enjoy the slow pace of the meal. I am sure I will go back, but it always feels expensive for what I have. I expected better for my money than what we experienced.

We had a reservation but was seated more than 40 minutes late. Our server was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, it took forever to get drinks. We opt for the 4 course meal. The cheese fondue was good, although by far not enough cheese for the mountain of dry bread we received. Next was the salads…nothing special, I have had better at fast food places, definitely not worth the money. On to the entree. We could not change the meat selections on the menu if you took the 4 course, yet you select your own meat if you took the $19.99 ala carte menu. It does not make any sense…The dipping causes looked much better on paper than what they tasted. After about 3 hours, we were on to dessert. We did like the banana foster chocolate fondue. Yet again, very small portion, even though none of us eat a lot of sweets and always share 1 desert between 4 people. This time we actually ordered 4 portions between 5 of us, simply because we ordered a set menu. We would definitely not go back. If you want dinner and a different experience, rather go to hibachi or a dinner show restaurant.

My family and I had reservations last night for 8 of us at 6:15. We all arrived on time and we were seated at 6:30. We lead to a dinning room and we were the only people there at that time and we noticed it seamed very cold in the room. We just happened to be seated next to the thermostat and I noticed it was 61 degrees in the room. It was so cold we had to look for a server to turn on the heat. We didn't see our server for 15 min. The rest was down hill from there. After more people were seated we lost all service. At one point we didn't see our server for 30 min. We questioned where our server and our food was after about 10 min more the manager showed up with our food. He didn't apologize for the wait or the lack of service he seamed disinterested in us altogether. He gave us our food and that was about the last time we had anyone pay any attention to us. We were served wine in a carafe after the wine was poured we noticed the glass had some food waste stuck inside the glass. We told our waiter and he said the manager would come by but he never did. At the end of the evening when the waiter brought the check he said the manager wasn't going to come to our table but he took off the cost of the wine. At that point I told the waiter it seemed to me there was a management issue and he agreed. He was the only waiter in this dinning room and the manager wouldn't ever help him. This restaurant has many problems poor management, dirty dishes, dirty bathrooms and staff that hate their jobs. Because of poor service ( we had to ask to have our water glasses refilled any time we needed water) we didn't leave this place until 11:00. That's almost 5 hours for dinner. Not to mention everything is al carte and the bill was over $500.00 and we didn't have very much of a bar bill. We will never eat at this restaurant again.

The Melting Pot is by no means the cheapest place to get dinner, however it's worth every penny! I love celebrating special occasions here. I was here last weekend for my birthday and enjoyed a cheese course, salad and main course with my fiance. The atmosphere is very intimate and romantic, but it can be great for parties since fondue can be very communal. I tried their new cheese with chorizo and jalapenos....DELICIOUS! I always get oil for the main course. It's not as healthy but the food has a nice fresh crunch to it after being battered in their sesame batter and herb batter. The sauces they bring to the table are numerous, unlimited and delicious. The best part is their happy hour! Some of their cheese and chocolate fondues are half off and I know they have some drink specials too. Really fun for girls nights!

30 minutes after sit down we are finally acknowledged and order. Have to ask for water from bar in the meantime. 60 minutes we finally get water Other tables came and left after 30 minutes with no waiter; no acknowledgement Cooking on the grill by others caused EXCESSIVE smoke filing the restaurant 70 minutes first wine arrives for flight 75 minutes cheese and vegetables arrive. Vegetables clearly not fresh. Sent back 100 minutes salad arrives 110 minutes 2nd wine flight arrives. First refill of water glasses. Some not refilled before waitress leaves. Went outside. 3 waiters on smoke break despite restaurant seeming vastly under staffed. 125 minutes. Cooking sauces arrive. Order is incorrect. Table next to us gets cheese after an hour but no silverware. Proceeds to use fingers to eat cheese fondue. Gets silverware 15 minutes later after asking. 145 meat entrees arrive. 150 3rd wine arrives. Comes in port glasses because all regular wine glasses are “dirty” 185 minutes. Chocolate menu arrives. One provided for 8 people to choose from 205 minutes. Chocolate portions arrive. Have to ask for water refills since all glasses are and have been empty for an hour 230 minutes done. Waiting for check 245 checks received Entire time here restaurant is about 80 degrees and we are drowning in sweat. 275 minutes. Finally finish paying after complaining to manager. Given 10% off as a comp. Are you kidding? We have been here for 20 years and all 4 couples will never return. Ever. Has there been a management change? This is horrible. Manager didn't even come back to discuss her remedy to the situation. Overall we felt like the manager spoke one way but really didn't care about service. McDonald's has better service.

We had the unusual experience of dining here the day before Thanksgiving since it was our anniversary. They weren't busy at all. Our waiter, Evelyn, was very good. We never had to flag her down. We also had one of the two seat romantic booths with a high wall around it where we could not see into the next booth or be seen. We ordered the 4 course meal...cheese appetizer, salad, entree, chocolate dessert. It took a little over 2 hours. I give the food an A-, the experience an A+.With 2 glasses of wine and tip-$140, so definitely a special occasion place.

We had a great dinner and service this weekend! This is not a quick dinner by any means so plan on staying for a while and enjoying some drinks and conversation. The meal is filling, delicious, and fun with choices from meat, seafood, and vegetables. Our server, Wally, did a great job of explaining everything to us and making us feel welcomed. He was attentive but not bothersome. I suggest making a reservation. You can expect a short wait even with reservations. My only complaint is the front desk was unattended upon our arrival for quite a few minutes.

I love the Melting Pot! We requested Brian as our server who is Awesome. I don't know to now who we got, but he sucked! We talked to Jojo, manager and he said we can't complain about personalities; however we can complain that he sighed non stop! Rolled his eyes and was super disrespectful! You can look back all my reviews here are above average! That is because the server actually cared about the clients! I had a nice evening; however it would have been better if we received the server we requested! We spent over 800.00 so you'd think that that mattered! We were just told you can't complain about someone's personalities! Not happy! Only stateside once or twice a year....melting pot really messed up my 6 day stay!

A very fun fondue experience. We were there for a Sunday brunch and our waiter (Cade) could not have been nicer and extremely helpful as it was our first time there. He made suggestions and explained everything perfectly. We did the 4 course experience. Cheese, salad, entrees and dessert. It is pricey but was so much fun you really didn't care. They have a nice wine list and the cocktails are also good. We stayed there for 3 hours and never felt rushed to leave. I definitely recommend it for fun time out on a special occasion. Thank you Cade.

What an absolute waste of 3 hours, waiter had no clue..(filling tea glasses with coke, salads forgotten, orders wrong, even with a limited menu due to New Years. One of the Heating pots never warmed up enough to even cook on , we all used 1 pot. The establishment wasn’t even busy. The manger was useless even apologetic for the bad service. About an hour into our dinning experience our party of 8 debated just walking out. That’s what we should have done. Now I’m thinking I may dispute the charge when it shows up. I’ve never not left a tip for bad service but on a bill of over $500 we left nothing. To many better choices in the area for a bad service experience.

My party of 6 made a reservation for 9 PM on 12/31/2013, we arrived at 8:25 and were not seated until 9:45 (our entire party was there on time). While waiting to be seated there were NUMEROUS booths that were open that would accommodate our party, yet we still had to wait an additional 45 minutes after our reservations. When being escorted to our table we requested a booth, due to the fact there was a woman pregnant in our party stating the seats wouldn’t be comfortable for her to sit in, they denied us a booth stating that “another party had reserved a booth specifically and that their party was bigger than ours.” After being seated it took 10 minutes before a server approached our table. She asked the inevitable “has everyone been here before?” I myself have been to Melting Pot numerous times, however 5 out of the 6 in my party have NOT been to The Melting Pot; this was the perfect cue for the server to explain how fondue works. The server, Marissa never explained once how the pots work or how to prepare everything properly. She also took our drink and dinner options down and left. In this time we noticed that a party of 4 was seated at the booth we initially asked to sit in. This is where the night really starts to take a dive for the worse. 15 minutes after putting our drink orders in we received our drinks: 4 cocktails (2 yin yang martinis and 2 Italian margaritas) and 1 bottle of wine, however the crown on the rocks was not brought to our table. This took another 20 minutes before we got that beverage and our cheese and salad. That is totally unacceptable; we are now at about 45-55 minutes for a beverage that takes no preparation and our first course. After finishing the first course, we waited 30 minutes before our 2nd course was brought to us. When ordering our dinner we mentioned NO seafood for the pregnant guest, ye t they brought seafood out to her anyways. Again, waiting another 10-15 minutes for them to rectify the situation. As you can see the majority of our night was spent waiting on a waitress, while 8 other tables in our section that came in AFTER us, were tended to and received their dinner and dessert items BEFORE us. At this point I ask another waiter for a manager, because our waiter hasn’t been to our table. I also ask the bartender for a waiter, just in case the waiter forgot being that he was busy serving his own assigned tables. Needless to say, the manager never came to our table. We have now wrapped up dinner and again, waiting another 20-30 minutes for dessert. Also, while waiting for dessert it was mentioned to the waiter no bananas for one of the guests (food allergies) and what do you think happened? They were served bananas. I also asked my waiter for water and received a glass with muddy water and black specks floating it (I can provide a picture if necessary). This literally was the last straw. I requested they provide us with our tickets so that we can leave. When I requested the tickets I mentioned I had a gift certificate and the waiter told me that it was expired and unacceptable. I can also provide this gift certificate to you that CLEARLY states “This Gift Certificate does not expire.” At this point I requested a manager. This was THE WORST customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. I’m not sure if this is because we had a terrible waiter or because the color of our skin didn’t match everyone that was seated or working at the restaurant. The manager, Rosa comes to the table and shoves my gift certificate in front of me and says “look here (points) it states it is not valid on any special occasion or holiday!” As mentioned before, I can provide the gift certificate that does not mention those words at all. As I’m giving her a run down of the overall experience she makes excuses for every item that I mentioned in this letter “we were busy, I’m sorry you feel that way but you are wrong,” were the responses I received. I’m not in the restaurant business, but I do know “the customer is always right.” It would be different if our only complaint was time, especially with it being a holiday. However, the fact 8 tables came and left BEFORE us was clearly a matter of importance, and it was clear we were not as important as every other customer in that restaurant. Could this be a matter of skin color? The muddy water that served to me is not a matter of time and/or it being a holiday. Being denied a booth to accommodate a pregnant woman, is not a matter of time and/or it being a holiday. Having a paper shoved in my face, is not a matter of time and/or it being a holiday. At this point I am furious because she is totally oblivious that we decided to spend our time, the holidays and our money at your restaurant and our feelings and concerns were invalid. No resolution came from this!

Decent food but super slow service. I know they are limited on people but it was past the point of terrible. The vegetables for the cheese fonue was not good. Broccoli and carrots not fresh. Felt that they cheated us on the portions of meat for two people. Also, when they brought out meat to cook, the platter had blood in it from the meats. Very unsanitary and gross. Tge place is very outdated. Sister in wheelchair and had to go to back of building to find elevator. Did like the chocolate portion of the meal. Still love The Melting Pot but will not visit this location again.

Definitely wonderful place for date night! Our waiter was great and readily accessible. Delicious food and fun experience. Unassuming place from the street above the 7eleven but very nice inside. Will definitely be back.
Melting My Brain with Interminably Long Waits All Night
We have gone to Melting Pot for birthdays for a decade and always had a great time, but wow things have changed. After last night, we won’t be back. We waited too long for a table, even with a reservation, then every other part of the dining experience was separated by a long delay (things like meat and forks) or never came at all (like cocktails and water refills.) Add the dirty and dated decor to the untrained waitstaff and poorly managed kitchen and you have a recipe for a closed restaurant Checked in with the manager after our 4 hour snooze fest and she thought they did fine. Reader, they did not do fine, and the fact that she thinks they did means we will not be back.
