Our 7 year old loves coming here. Who would have thought he the most picky eater in the world would love fondu?! However he does and so do we. We've been coming for years and although the menu changes up a bit it is still excellent. Yes you have to cook the food. I know your thinking if I want to cook I can stay home and do it but believe you me it won't ever be the same. The choice and quality of the food you just can't get at HEB. Give it a try. And for you couples here is a tip request lovers lane. Happy fonduing!

I wasn't sure I was going to like eating nothing but cheese all night. Boy was I wrong. There was so much more than just cheese in a pot. The entrees were pretty tasty and have your own chocolate dipping party afterwards is AMAZING. This is definitely a must try for a foodie!

Been here several times, the food and the experience of cooking it is very good, the wine list use to be huge but now they reduce it, still has enough good wines in there. The service was very bad, it took us 2.5 hours for dinner. they need to improve allot in service, our waiter was terrible, very bad service, He forgot to bring some drinks and took forever to serve us.

Nowhere could I find on the website that I would have to cook my own meal; that the waiter would bring out raw meat, uncooked vegetables and potatoes and give me instructions on cooking my own meal. I took my wife out after she has cooked all wek to a Friday out dinner and then we are expected to cook our own meal, enjoy the experience and pay upscale restaurant prices. They should accurately advertise on their website that you will do the cooking. Like PT Barnum said - there is a sucker born every minute

We had the four course. atmosphere was very romantic the servers were really great was a lot more food than I expected on our next visit would order less and share more. Even though the food was really good the experience and family interaction was even better this is a restaurant you can't expect to come in and out plan to stay awhile and have fun

Don't get the poor reviews. Had an excellent time on my wife's birthday and Kyle our server did an excellent job. Fondue is an experience, not fast food. So visit and enjoy the finer things in life....

Kind of pricey, expect to spend about $100 per couple...but a great special occasion place...plan on being there a few hours. Lots of fun :)

In Overall, here's my explanation: 1. Lack of Knowledge from servers 2. Poor Customer Service from one server - He was very rude and sarcastic, when we selected signature entree (prior be seated via email three days with anticipation) then the server never explain the cooking time, not even the process to put the food into the pot. Also, one of the entree has salmon, the server get into argument with the special guest (birthday) until I show in email the whole menu specifically the signature entree include the salmon. The classic selection took more than 20 minutes after the other selection were served. 3. I have to walked and complained to the manager Lame Bavorsetto when he said "Sir what do you want me to do?" He frustrated me at the point that I really don't want talk to any employee there because the incompetency on how they handle a party of 23 people. That at the end we stay waiting for the checks, the only excused the manager gave me was the guests different drinks and menus. When I personally emailed with days with anticipation prior the event. 4. The server, including the host female short hair, was very rude and seems confused when I asked her where's the manager, she yells at me saying the manager is on the back dealing with your checks Sir. 5. We never received the dessert part from the 4 entree. Just two cards to coming back. I just wondering if I can coming back for a dessert fondue? I don't think so, my first time when I spent almost $300 on my table, from over thousands of dollars my 19 guests spent, having a no pleasant experience with one rude and sarcastic server, one manager that don't even stop by to check on the guests and ask how's the experience. Totally disappointing.

We took our 14 year old granddaughter here for her birthday and had a lot of fun. It was something very different for her and she was game to try everything. What isn't good dipped in sauce? She says she wants to make this a tradition now! Service was excellent and we enjoyed the whole experience.

It was a good experience and fun. But it was expensive. This was our first time so we needed help with the options. The waiter was helpful with the menu.

I've always liked the Melting Pot. I know it is overpriced for making you basically cook your own food, but I can't help but enjoy the entire experience. This Melting Pot I was disappointed by their rule of additional charges for brownies, cheesecake, and pound cake with the dessert course. Since my husband and I typically buy a 4 course meal, I think it’s ridiculous to nickel and dime someone subsequently by charging a $1 on extra plate of brownies and $2 for the smallest slice of cheesecake imaginable. I can understand if someone only buys the dessert course or just gets cheese and dessert, but when you already spending over $100 on the meal, I think the extra plates should be included. What was more irritating was not being told about this additional charge until after we had already ordered an extra plate of brownies and cheesecake, and being charged for them. I think the waitress recognized her failure because she "snuck" us another plate of brownies without charging us. Furthermore, when you pay $50+ per person, you expect good service. I recognized our waitress was very busy with many tables, but I went 45 minutes without a refill on my water. This was kind of the theme of the night unfortunately. I really like Melting Pot, but it will probably be awhile before I decide to go back to this location.

We joined our Daughter in law and son for her birthday and My wife's birthday Sat. Night. Mother in law also came along for the experience, and that is what it was. I was a little cautious about fu fu places like this but went. Boy was I surprised and filled as well. Our waitress Annie was excellent and took great care of us. My son and his wife have been before but we had not so she explained the entire process to us and we had a great time as well as some excellent quality food. What a great place to celebrate any special occasion or just to go out for something different. We all left full and satisfied. Thanks Annie.

Always a good time and treated with utmost importance. Food is amazing and love the atmosphere. We frequent this place for as many chances as possible.

Haven't been to The Melting Pot in a while. Glad to see that it is still great- and with an expanded menu. Atmosphere, vibe all wonderful! Great meal wth great service (Trevor our server was great)! Will try to visit again the next time in San Antonio. Recommend this for all

I was looking for a romantic evening out. I found a package that the Melting Pot offered; a private booth, set up with a bottle of wine, a bouquet of flowers and a full-course fondue meal. The food is great. The service is spectacular. But if it is the company that you enjoy, this is the place to go. The server knows that you will be in your booth for 2 to 3 hours so he or she will not be rushing you out the door. We just sat in our private booth, enjoying ourselves and enjoying the wonderful food in each course. The whole experience, while it is a national chain, was still an amazing one. If you are willing to put forth a little extra cash, this is the place to spend it. We made it special and we still talk about this experience to this day. We loved our time at the Melting Pot.

While I wont be going here every week(just for special events) because of the price, but I loved it. It was my first time going and had a blast. Most people do not realize that the food is raw and you put it on the skewer and then into the boiling pot to cook. The dessert was amazing. I love that you can eat one course or do all four. The price is a litte steep. If you join their online club you get a coupon for 6 chocolate strawberries when you spend $60 (my boyfriend and I went and and it was about $80). My drink was never empty and the server explained everything throughly and answered our many questions.

Found this restaurant in a google search. They require reservations. You are seated in your own cubical and have your own server who assists you with planning and preparing your fondue meal. We had the 4 course meal. Our server was attentive and quite entertaining. The food was fresh and presented quite well. The meats were tender and the fish fresh. All four courses were unbeatable in quality.

The food was great and unique. Set up is interesting and entertaining. The service was really good. They explained how the whole process is going to be and made you feel really comfortable.

The experience of fondue is what makes this a fun and exciting night out. It was a great place to celebrate a 70th Birthday or any occasion. Definitely will go back and recommend to anyone.

Have been several times for special occasions.....and always enjoy the atmosphere. This is a 2 hour dining experience, so plan to spend some time there. With recent menu changes (individual selections versus Big Night Out), you have more options to control costs, portions and choices. Cost is usually on the higher end, but you're paying for food and the fondue experience. If you haven't been, definitely give it a try with a few of your friends.

We did it again this year! This time included sisters. The 2+ hour event is so worth it. We laughed & told stories. Our server, Trevor took it all in stride. They were very smart to put us in a corner section so that our rowdiness wouldn't bother other diners. The chocolate covered strawberries were an added touch. Probably will do it again next year.

This fondue restaurant is a fun, relaxing place to spend the evening. Our server was very prompt and attentive, and went into great detail explaining all the choices. The food was outstanding! There were 4 courses, appetizer, salad, main, and dessert. Each one was a delightful experience in itself. It took around 2 hours from start to finish, which gave my husband and me plenty of time to visit and just enjoy being together in relaxed environment. The prices were higher than we usually pay, but the food was definitely worth it! I would highly recommend it.

This place is just wow! I've eaten at the MP a few times before, but this last experience was very memorable. It's a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a romantic evening. The service, the food, and the atmosphere are fantastic! Your waiter is not in a rush to get you out on your way, the food is absolutely fabulous, and I can't recall seeing any kids which is a huge plus! I have plans to return soon! Keep up the great work!

We went to this place to celebrate our 28th Wedding Anniversary. We had not eaten here before. When I made the reservation, I asked for a table that was romantic. They gave us a table that was perfect for us. We both went with the four course dinner and the wine flights. Our first course was Quattro formaggio. This was wonderful to dip the bread and vegetables. The next course was salad. We tried two different ones and they were both great. I had the pacific rim while my wife tried the one with the lobster tail for our entrees. We chose the coq au vin as the cooking broth. Everything was superb. Remember to drop the potatoes in first. They will take a while to cook. For the desert course, we chose the dark chocolate with berries and cream. Just heavenly. The wines were also very good. Definitely worth it. Macy was a great server. Overall, it was a little pricey, but definitely worth it!

At the encouragement of our son who has dined at The Melting Pot on several occasions,we thought we'd try Fondue for New Years Eve. Never having dined this way before, we were delighted to discover that it was way more than a dining experience. It was an event. Food was delicious, service was wonderful and our New Years Eve was certainly one that we will remember for some time. Their teriyaki sauce was amazing.

The fondue is a fun dining experience for all! The different courses let's everyone join in and eat something they love. You can't go wrong with cheese and chocolate!!

My wife and I went there for her birthday and had a great time. We had never been there before and she wanted to try something new. We had the four course meal with her getting seafood and the meat for me. We put it all together and shared it with each other. I guess I have to admit the cheese was good but the chocolate was the best. We had so much food left over so we cooked it all and took it home with us. I think this is for special occasions not some place we would go weekly or monthly but we will go back. Oh by the way the service was excellent.

I have been Gluten Free since Oct 2012 when my Dr. told me my body couldn't have it any longer so it's been a struggle for me to find nice restaurants with TRUE gluten free selections. OMGosh!!!!! The GF Bread to dip in the cheese dip was to die for!!!! The mean was great and the dessert was like heaven! I was very happy! NOTE: If one person is GF all have to have GF or put their fondue on the plate and dip from there.

Came here for dinner Christmas Eve with family, their first visit and my second to this location. I wish it was closer as I love it, but I don't think my family was overly thrilled with it. Probably better just for appetizers and dessert or a date night, but still good either way. I wouldn't personally bring young children here since it was about 2 1/2 hours easy and too many things to burn/stab themselves on if you aren't careful. I made our reservation the day prior so we did get seated pretty quickly; unfortunately we were sat all the way in the back in a corner away from everyone so we did feel forgotten at times (especially when drinks started running low.) We each got the four course (2 classic and 1 surf and turf) and two of us ordered a drink which came out to $160. There was plenty as extra dippers can be had with the appetizer and dessert. It took longer than I remember to cook our meat thoroughly, but we were still full at the end. Please remember if you order an entree that you cook it yourself. I think it's a fun experience; my brother on the other hand was pissed at paying $40+ to cook his own dinner. Dessert was great though as they allow you to mix it as long as they have it. We opted for the bananas foster with milk chocolate instead of the white and it was delicious. Definitely somewhere I want to stop when I'm in town.

We have never been to Melting Pot before but are familiar with the fondue concept having traveled to Switzerland several times. We had the 4-course version. First we had the Classic Alpine and Spinach Artichoke Hearts; both were excellent. For salads we had a Caesar and California - they were OK. Then we picked the Coq Au Vin style cooking and had the Classic entries. The entries and the sauces were excellent. ( You kind of need to know how to cook them.) I'd like to mention our server "Evan" (hope I got his name right) was a real pro, very knowledgeable and helpful.

My husband and I have not been here since our fifth wedding anniversary. Having kids puts a damper on your ability to have date nights, so when our friend offered to babysit on my husband's birthday, we booked a reservation at the Melting Pot. The Melting Pot is more upscale than your average casual restaurant; no need to dress-up (but we did). We ordered the four course dinner; it took two hours to eat dinner, but you don't go to a fondue place when you want to be done in half an hour. It was a welcome break from the kids and an opportunity to talk without being interrupted.

Our waitress was terrible it would have been nice to be given more direction and to be told gratuity already included in our bill. She was sneaky, had me sign pad with no breakdown of bill and i had to add tip on that screen. She brought broken down receipt after. We turned around and had manager correct. Bill went from $820 to $600. That is NOT OK!

G'Day! I was taken to this restaurant on my last evening in Texas. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The waiter was friendly and accomodating in changes to our menu. The food was delicious, with the style of cooking encouraging humour and chat. It was a lovely way to finish my Texan experience. Thank you.

Delicious lobster bisque cheese fondu, angry orchard salad, land and sea entrée with wine flight pairing. Topped off meal with our waiter Ben's "tailored to our taste" dark chocolate & pumpkin fondue. A pampered to perfection experience after a long hard day and week! Thanks melting pot! We love you!

We have been wanting to go to the restaurant for years and finally did it. The food was really good. We did the holiday special and it was all very good. Service was excellent. Food was excellent and I would definitely recommend. Price was spot on as well.

Had a great dinner with the family. The food was good, but the experience was even better. It's pricey, but we left there very full and happy as we laughed the whole meal. It forces you to engage as a family (calculating cooking times, discussing different sauce and batter combinations, etc) Even my cranky teenager loved it. Great way to spend Mother's Day!

We went for Friendsgiving dinner the night before Thanksgiving and Lance was awesome! Very attentive! My wife has a severe seafood allergy and Lance was able to set up a portable burner on our table so that she could have a separate cooking style for her entree so that our friend and I could still enjoy our seafood! He also made sure that she had plenty of chicken and ravioli to eat to make up for the seafood she could not have. He was training a new server and did a great job explaining how to serve a great fondue meal! He also brought us extra marshmallows because those are our favorites! Great service!

My husband and I ate there on A Saturday night to celebrate his birthday! The food was very good and our waiter was very friendly and helpful. We arrived before our reservation time so we went to the bar to have a drink. There was some tension that seemed to be going on between the bartender and wait staff. The waiters seemed very nervous or reluctant to place drink orders and he wouldn't acknowledge them. He didn't smile the whole time we were in there. He seemed very focused on the CNN TV station he was watching on TV. I think another channel would have been a better choice for the bar, since it seemed to add to the negative atmosphere. Fortunately we didn't have to stay there too long because our table was ready. Once we got to the table, we had a wonderful time!

We originally had other plans in SA, but our car broke down on the way up and it made us several hours later than we originally anticipated. There were only a few options that popped up for places that were going to be open late for dinner. I made a reservation for 10PM on our (second) drive up and upon arrival we were greeted warmly and provided a happy birthday card. They couldn't have had more than an hour or so notice so kudos for checking guys. It was very much appreciated after such a long ordeal. My fiance had never done fondue so I thought this would be a great experience for him and it was. From the fancy cheese, to the fresh salad, fun making cooking our own entrees and finally the delicious dark chocolate with goodies at the end...the whole thing was awesome. I dont often review chain restaurants but this place was legit. We had a great time with great food and left very very full. I can't remember the name of our server, but he was great! Very knowledgeable and accommodating and didn't make us feel like a burden even though we were there after closing time. If I lived closer we'd definitely be back. P.S. - to those complaining about cooking your own food...do you know what fondue is? Have you heard of Google? Geez people, get a grip. This is a very fun place and all the "cooking" you do is stick your choice bite size piece of food into liquid that is prepared for you.

First time coming here, the staff were super friendly and generous with sides, bathrooms clean, the manager on staff was Dwayne not only did he stop by the table but was super informative and helpful. I will be coming back regularly! Definitely a fun place to eat!

Great food, frustrating hosts. The check in procedure needs an overhaul. Pulling as fast as the slowest mule. Everytime we come, the food is fabulous. Checking in is hit or miss. 4 people standing around the computer, paying more attention to the screen than the humans. Hostesses are rude and mostly clueless and I'm afraid their managers are no better. Fun family time though!

I tried this restaurant as part of a party of five. I think this is a good place to do a group, but would also work very well as a couple's outing. My party did all four courses. Everything was good; in my opinion the highlight is the beginning cheese course and the dessert fondues. I enjoyed my cocktail as well - a rasberry martini. Our server was incredibly helpful in explaining how to cook our main course and use all the different sauces, and she also helped us to order an appropriate amount for our party without pushing us to order more than we needed. I would definitely return here.

Last weekend, several members of my family went to the Melting Pot in San Antonio. After dinner, we walked to the parking lot to find our car had been broken into. The driver's side door was pretty damaged and our stereo system had been stolen. By the way, we have an alarm, but it obviously didn't matter. My cousin also had items stolen from her car. When we told the manager about the situation he said, "Sorry. It happens all the time - especially on busy weekends." So on top of paying about $100 a couple, we now have to deal with our insurance company and start replacing stolen items. Wish we would have known being robbed while you eat is a common occurrence before we went.

The Melting Pot is my favorite restaurant!!

My husband took me here last night for my birthday. We had never been here before so wanted to try it. It was fantastic! Our waitress Tehya S was very knowledgeable and explained how it all worked. Could not believe you get so much to eat. We started out with the Classic Alpine fondue with bread and veggies for dipping. We each had a salad, and our entree was steak, chicken, shrimp and salmon, large mushrooms and broccoli that you cook in oil infused with different spices. For dessert was several types of cake and brownie bites that we dipped in milk chocolate with caramel toffee crunch. This was to die for. We will go back. Thanks for a great birthday dinner.

My husband and I enjoyed waiting for our table at the bar. The table service was superb and the food was so good. It was a great menu to choose from and we enjoyed having the choices.

Overwhelming great service. Great place to go with friends as everyone is brought into conversation making for a fun filled evening. Also great for a romantic evening. The food is great and the staff are excellent at making recommendations and are well versed in the "fondue style" Staff are friendly and accommodating

This is one of my favorite restaurants. This one in particular, has been here for a few years so, I think the staff gets "comfortable" sometimes. I really expect the best customer service and professionalism when I go in. This last visit was not horrible. I appreciate the staff when they know they menu and can make suggestions for my guests that have never been. Either way, it's always a unique dining experience. I will go again.

We went just out of curiosity and absolutely loved it. Our waitress was extremely knowledgeable, and helped us make great selections that I don’t regret one bit! We will definitely be back soon.

Our server, John, was excellent. If you are not familiar with fondue, please expect to sit for a couple hours with your love one, enjoy a mixed-drink or two, and cook yourself an awesome meal. We had the fiesta cheese fondue which was delicious. We also had the meats...and the turtle caramel pecan chocolate fondue for dessert. This isn't a cheap night out, and cost us about $100. It was a lot of food, two drinks, and a nice relaxing time for my wife and I. We "do the fondue" a couple times a year, and this is our first visit to The Melting Pot in San Antonio. Bravo, you've done an excellent job!!

I’ve dined here multiple times since relocating to San Antonio. It is one of my favorite restaurants for one reason—I have celiac disease and the fact that you can see all the ingredients going in to your meal makes it almost a guarantee that I will not be glutened. I’ve been dining at melting pots all over the country but very recently they introduced a gluten-free menu, which is pretty much the entirety of the regular menu, minus some marinated meats. They also offer gluten free bread, but in my experience, it has always been cross-contaminated and I end up getting sick. If you stick to gluten-free meats (and so does everyone else at your table), and make sure they substitute gluten-free beer for regular beer in the cheese, and make sure nobody dips their gluten desserts into the chocolate (drizzle instead), then you’re set! No getting sick from this place! All that being said, the Melting Pot is an excellent dining experience—the ambiance can be fun or romantic, depending on where you sit, the food is always fresh and delicious, the salads are amazing (although portion size has decreased dramatically over the past several years), and the dessert is always to die for (if you managed to save room). I will continue to dine here when I’m in the mood for a feast. The service is always excellent and the waiters are all well trained, and friendly.

Seriously, avoid this place. Looks great, very impressive. Amazing inside and a great date place, but don't eat! Drink and Drink, but do not eat. Reminds me of the Oasis in Austin, go there to drink, but don't eat.

We always enjoy going and taking friends that have never been. As always it was wonderful, lighting was dim and relaxing, water glass never ran dry. But most of all we had a great friends enjoying great food.

We go to Melting Pots when we travel whenever we get the chance because our children love the novelty of cooking their own food at the table. The San Antonio Melting Pot always has excellent service from knowledgeable servers, which is a big bonus for us because we are foodies and we always have a lot of questions. This trip was not as remarkable because they seated us in a party room with several very, very loud large parties. It was hard to hear each other at some points over squealing high school kids. This upset my husband and woke our baby more than once. With that said, however, it was a busy night and it would be hard to seat us elsewhere as the restaurant is mostly booths. The food was excellent, as always. I had the French Quarter entree and the food was perfectly seasoned. My husband had the fondue delight platter, which was an excellent value for the money. I was also glad to see that they are now offering children's plates. We enjoyed the creme brulee dessert fondue most of all. We will be back.

From the moment we sat down it took four hours before we left. The server seemed to think this was normal, unapologetic. Appetizers and dessert was great. Atmosphere was great. Unique experience. But the prices are high for what you truly get.

Denise one of the rudest people we have ever delt with guess we caught her on a bad day - or normal day

As a reward for academic excellence throughout the entire school year my wife and I told our children we'd take them to The Melting Pot. It was a good experience and dining adventure. We went all the way and each ordered 4 course meals. We started with a Cranberry Bacon cheese fondue. It was good but the cheeses are melted into white wine and the flavor of the wine was a bit "too present" for our tastes. We didn't finish it but were glad we tried it. We chose our entrees (Classic, french Quarter, good Earth Vegetarian and a create your own) and the Seasoned Court Bouillon to cook them in. All of our entrees were delicious. We had a lot of fun cooking the various meats, seafood and vegetables in the pot and sharing them with each other. For the chocolate fondue desert we chose (after much deliberation) the S'Mores. It was delicious as well with dipping choices of waffles, pound cake, fresh strawberries, pineapple, cookies, brownies and more! Our server did a very good job of explaining the menu options, making suggestions and timing the courses so that we weren't rushed but didn't feel neglected. Expensive but worth every penny!

My husband and I have been to The Melting Pot in Houston, TX several times. We were in San Antonio for our 15th Anniversary. We decided to celebrate here. It was another great experience and meal. Great food, drinks and atmosphere! Highly recommend this restaurant. It is a little pricey.

My guests from Guadalajara, Mx. requested a birthday surprise dinner for one in our party. They had enjoyed a meal there over 2 years ago and could hardly wait to return. We arrived about 6 pm. and tried several different items. from cheeses then veggies & bread then the meats. Our server was so knowledgeable and patient . We turned down a Balloon for the birthday girl but she really went for the dark chocolate with berries and cream.! A lovely evening, great food ! A time to remember and not count the cost

This was our first time going to the melting pot. I wish I had read some of the review before going. We ordered blindly and pretty much watsted money . We had no idea you cooked your own meats. The broth that we chose to cook our meats in wasn't really all that good (COQ AU VIN) . From my own personal and had I known I would have just done the sald course, cheese course and chocolate course. After the ceasar salad and all that Wisconsin cheese and bread we were at our limit. I was so delicious you could really feel up on just that ! We went on a Sunday, Sundays are kids eat free. This is advertised online and that all that's said here's the catch ONLY the entrees (meats) are free for the kids. So they got us for his portion of chocolate plus cheese we thought was free... we had to pay for. So keep that in mind when ordering. Thanks for the wonderful experience on our wedding day melting pot !

if you want great food atmosphere and service all in one this is the place right at your table they have a fondue pot and a four course meal that every course is great first course they melt cheese combo of your choice i like the fiesta with an array of things to dip. next course a salad of your choice not your normal salad course three meats and veggies that you cook in the fondue pot with your choice of marinade and 6 different dipping sauces with eunique flavors then comes my favorite part the desert fondue i love the bananas foster with brownies strawberries and many other things to dip in it taste like heaven the wait staff is informative nice atmosphere would be a great place to take a date and do try the blood orange margarita ask for adam best waiter i have had and im very picky dont miss this place

Some friends invited us to visit the Melting Pot tonight. It sounded interesting, but our friends who invited us didn't even realize you cook your own food at the table. \ The physical layout is very nice and the staff were great. We (4 of us) were placed in a booth and it was pretty tight in all respects. They put a lot of things on the table (sauces, dips etc) and you barely have room to move. If we had anything it had to be put on the floor under the table because there just wasn't room for it on the seats. The explanation of the various options was very good, and the server was very helpful. We were there about 2 hours and 15 minutes and had the cheese fondue, we each ordered an entree, and then we all shared a chocolate fondue (you can get a coupon by joining their club online). The cheese fondue, which costs $8 per person was a lot of cheese - with wine added in (which is mainly what we tasted). A bowl of bread pieces and some other items were avail to dip in - I didn't have any because the first thing they did was put a small bowl of shallots in the pot before adding the cheese, and I don't like them. Others seemed to think the cheese fondue was so-so. I had the entree with steak, chicken and shrimp. We had decided on one of the broths to cook in. I got 5 small pieces of steak (bite size), 4 shrimp and 5 small pieces of chicken - again bite size or smaller. That was $24. Then we basically boiled our meat. The chocolate fondue we got was white chocolate with amaretto mixed in. We got a variety of small bits of cakes, brownies, a small sliver of cheesecake, a couple of coated marshmallows etc to dip. It was ok. Maybe I'm just not hip anymore but this just didn't do it for me - especially at a cost of around $100 a couple - and we did the cooking. They automatically added an 18% tip - but give you the option to leave more...

The food is good, but the entertainment is better. I loved doing everything with the fondue. The pork was excellent it was seasons to the T.

We had Matt as our server, and he was just fabulous. We came for cheese and chocolate and being satisfied is an understatement. Everything they give you to pair with the cheese and chocolate is truly outstanding. I'll definitely be back again and again especially because I'm a local, and working in the restaurant industry, locals are definitely the people you want to go back repeatedly. Can't wait to go back!!

My daughter & I stopped in for cheese& chocolate. We ended up ordering the cheese, salad & chocolate. We had the Quattro Formaggio - it was fabulous but not enough; we flew through the pot in minutes! The dipping breads were fabulous! Then we both had the Strawberry Spinach Salad; it was wonderful, the dressing is so yummy! Then came The Flaming Turtle - the flames were cool but it was disappointing after that; the chocolate tasted like Hershey's Syrup. We truly expected something more. Overall is was a great experience. Cheese 5 Star! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Salad 5 Star! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Chocolate 3 Star - ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Experience 5 Star! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We'd go back for cheese & salad! Then grab dessert elsewhere.

The melting pot is located at the far corner of the shopping center on Blanco and Bitters Road. Parking is very limited so be prepared to find a spot. This restaurant has a wonderful ambience and there are plenty of tables. It takes reservations, which we highly suggest to anyone who does not like to wait a long time. This is because the restaurant fills up quickly and patrons like to take their time and relax at dinner (as it should be). From the moment you enter the restaurant, the host personnel take your name and depending on your reservation time (if you have one) ask you to have a seat on the adjacent couch or you can tell them you’ll enjoy the bar which is right across the way. Once seated, your waiter attends to your every need/want (within reason, of course). We’ve been going to melting pot for years and have never had bad or even marginal service. Over the years we’ve tried many different menu items, like monthly, weekly, or seasonal specials all of which were delicious. One of our favorite cooking mixtures is the Coq Au Vin (try it!) and we also LOVE the fiesta fondue…..just amazing. If you are a fondue fan, we highly recommend The Melting Pot in San Antonio!

We made reservations and were promptly seated at the time. We had excellent waitress that was very informative, enjoyable and personable! (The one traveling to Dubai, sorry can't remember her name). This was my husbands first visit to a Melting Pot and he was very impressed! We had the limited peaches and cream dessert and asked if there was ice cream! That would have been amazing...even without the taste was great! Enjoyed everything!

This was my 2nd trip to the melting pot. This time, I chose to take my new husband for our honeymoon vacation as he had no idea what fondue even was. We had reserved a romantic package which would have cost us a quite a bit more than it would have if we had just made a regular reservation, but when we arrived they failed to note that it was a "Romance Package" reservation and ultimately wasn't prepared. We were seated in the general area but she was aware we were newlyweds so she seated us in a corner away from everyone else. The waitress was very friendly and attentive of our needs. We had the Big Night Out 4 course dinner. He had the beer pairing, and I the wines. My big eater husband was wary of the small looking first course with the cheese but by the end of the meal, we couldn't even finish the chocolate course. It is a little pricey and definitely for a special occasion or group outing. If you are looking for something fun and a bit different, but with an intimate setting, I'd suggest this restaurant. PS It is kid friendly although you would have to keep an eye on little ones so they don't touch the hot pot and/or oven top. They may also lose patience as you have to let the veggies and meat cook for a few minutes.

This is a favorite for my family whether it's a romantic dinner for just my husband and me or a celebration for our family or just a girl's night out with my adult daughter. We love the cheese fondue, salad, split the steak, and save room for dessert. I love the fact that we can ask for fruit only instead of the cheesecake and marshmallows for the dessert fondue. My daughter has gone for just the salad, cheese, and dessert. You can make it whatever you want. It's an experience, so don't go with the idea that you'll eat and get out in an hour. It's great for taking your time, savoring the great food, and enjoying the company. Don't let them rush you. If you enjoy wine, they have a great wine list for all kinds of budgets. The chocolate martini is pretty darned good as well. I think I need to make a reservation for this weekend! Yum.

My wife, daughter and I went to the Melting Pot for an early family Valentine's Day celebration. We were running a little late due to traffic and called ahead. Hannah was incredibly understanding and said she would hold our reservation. When we arrive, Hannah shared that we were checked in and would be seated momentarily. After a very short wait, we were seated and greeted by our waiter, Arturo, who was incredibly professional and knowledgeable about gluten-free options on the menu. We went with the Four Course Dinners for two, starting with the Classic Alpine cheese fondue. The apples, sourdough bread, pretzel bread, carrots, celery and fruits were incredibly fresh and very tasty. Arturo brought a separate gluten-free dipper tray for my wife. For the salad, my daughter and I had the Caesar and my wife had the California. We all cleaned our plates and my wife said her salad was delicious. For the entree, my daughter and I had the Pacific Rim and my wife had the Land and Sea. We selected the Coq Au Vin cooking style which was incredibly flavorful with the burgundy wine, mushrooms, scallions and garlic. Arturo put the vegetables in first and turned up the heat before our trays came out. The cooking times for the various dippers was on a card on the table so it was easy for each of us to put 3 skewers each into the pot to allow the food to cook to our liking. The variety of sauces offered were also divine. My favorite was the plum sauce. For our fourth and final course with the chocolate fondue, we went with the Caramel Toffee Crunch, which was basically a Heath bar in chocolate. The strawberries and bananas were amazing and the brownie bites and sugar waffles were to die for. While I don't care for marshmallows, I left the oreo-covered marshmallows alone. Needless to say, I didn't think I would be so stuffed eating at a fondue restaurant and the service from Arturo was absolutely out of this world! We had the best time dining as a new experience at the Melting Pot and look forward to our next family celebration.

We were vacationing in San Antonio and visited The Melting Pot for NYE. Very nice experience. At first we were seated at a table across from the washrooms, which is not how I wanted to spend my NYE. We asked the manager if we could wait for another table and, even though they were completely booked, they were able to get us a much better table in a few minutes. Kaleb was our server and, although I had the impression that he was relatively new, did a wonderful job! I have rarely found a server that was so concerned about the happiness of his customers! Everything was very good and I would definitely return if I am ever back in San Antonio.

We have been here several times. It is always fabulous. Never disappoints. Great staff. They make certain all is well. Very attentive. This is a good couples place and friends place. Don’t be in a hurry. Come to relax. Leave the little children at home with a Happy Meal, EVERYONE will be happier. Oh! And the food is great too!

Wife and I had dinner here for our anniversary. We were drawn to this place by stories of having a fun dining experience and boy did the Melting Pot deliver. The food is good (not excellent) but the fun in essentially cooking your own food made up for what was lacking. The best part is no doubt the dessert. We had the surf and turf and fiesta cheese.

The food was decent. The only thing we weren't expecting was to boil our steak. The cheese and dessert entrees were very good. I don't like the idea of spending $90 on a steak dinner that you boil. We were sat at a table where the bulbs were out. I couldn't even see my husband. The girl was surprised when I asked to move. They put us in a private dining boot. Nice gesture but it was weird. We were in a tiny wood paneling room and had to stare at the wall all night. We won't be returning but I do lots of people who love it there.

I'm not sure what I'm missing here to disagree with the majority, but food is subjective and everyone has an opinion; so I'll leave mine: The atmosphere of the restaurant was excellent. The lighting was dim and romantic. I like the fact that there were no screaming kids, well done! The server(Chloe) was charismatic, helpful on the menu and excited about the food. She guided us through the menu and helped us make choices since it was our first dining experience. We chose the four course meal and sides for the kids. The starter was a cheese artichoke dip. Excellent, it was great on everything. We order two pacific rims and a French quarter for the main. I was taken back that it was the dinner place the raw meat in a vegetable bouillon that four people share. The problem is my Cajun spice tainted the bouillon that made everything spicy. Boiled food is flavored by the ingredients in the water. The sauces that came with the meat didn't do much to enhance the flavor. You might want to boil the meat longer than the recommended time if you don't like pink in your meat. They should have given you much thinner slices of meat. The chocolate fondue was ordinary and off. We got the milk chocolate/ dark chocolate Ying Yang. I have a pallet for chocolate and I know that the dark chocolate was ordinary hot fudge. To test myself after the meal I went home and use my fondue make with dark chocolate and sure enough I believe my pallet was correct about the hot fudge. Finally, after looking at the bill, the Melting Pot Website offered a 20% discount military appreciation on Thursdays; that is why we wanted to try it, but the restaurant only offered 10%. We thought maybe we misread the site until I pulled it up this morning and it was suppose to be 20%. Ensure you bring the printout. Some great things and many flaws that averages out this location. The cocktails are competitive prices; so if you stick to the appetizers, drinks and desert, yeah I could see celebrating. I don't feel the value is there for me.

My wife and I wanted a special place to celebrate our first date 46 years ago. The atmosphere, the service, the food, and the location far exceeded our expectations. Our server anticipated our every need throughout the three hours. Actually, I can not say enough good about her, being one of the best we have ever encountered. Leaving the standard tip would have been extremely inadequate, so we doubled it and still wondered if we left enough she was that good. We never felt rushed and were able to enjoy the evening at our own pace (plan at least 2-3 hours). This is a fondue restaurant which is perfect for those special romantic evenings with the love of your life. We started with the Wisconsin Cheese, with a beer base, then the cheese and spices. Perfect for dipping the assortment of cut up bread, apples, and veggies. We enjoyed a glass of the House Pinot Noir that was extremely smooth. Next was the salad, we selected the California, which had a great house created vinaigrette over spinach nuts and Gorgonzola crumbles. We were able to have time between courses to talk and reminisce about our first date (blind date set up by our friends). We chose the MoHo cooking style which gave our entree, then selected the Classic (seasoned pork, shrimp, chicken, teriyaki beef, and slices of a very tender filet, which comes with mushrooms, broccoli, and red potatoes). Cooking time varies between 90 seconds to 2 1/2 minutes. Our server instructed us before each course on what to do and what not to do. We could have cooked with three dipping forks at a time for each of us, but we decided to go slow, doing one item for each. All the entrees were excellent, tender, and tasty with a selection of 6 tasty dipping sauces. We asked for more mushrooms, broccoli, and the server kept the cooking pot full of MoHo broth. To finish, we selected the Chocolate Caramel Flambe which came with a selection of dessert items to dip (blondee, rice crispy, pound cake, bread pudding, bananas, strawberries). We sat and talked between courses thinking about the years past. The restaurant was full, actually sold out with OpenTable reservations, so when you go make a reservation. While there we were never aware that there were others around us. The booths for 4 or eight offer the romantic privacy a night like our's needed. We will absolutely be coming back. Can't say enough good about the evening.

The food was very delicious, the waitress was charming but I found them rude at reception. I arrived alone, about 15 minutes before my reservation time and they did not want to give me the table until everyone arrived, the reason they gave me was that the waiter would have to wait. I don't understand when the concern is not first that the client is comfortable.

We highly recommend booking a reservation for the ThursDate special. We came in to celebrate our anniversary. Service was incredible! Sonya is a treasure. All staff members were professional, friendly, and engaging. We had a particular seating request in our reservation due to a physical issues that were met prior to our arrival. They understand how to make special events feel like a celebration. Our meal was excellent from the cheese course all the way to the desert. The meet selection on our entrée was great. We ended up cooking up some to take home because we just couldn't finish the whole plater and leave room for the desert course. If I made one suggestion it would be larger serving of the vegetables but I am a big veggie eater. Thank you Melting Pot San Antonio for a great night.

Unsanitary in its' very concept. Even my children say "Gross !"

Super cozy and romantic atmosphere. Had the 3 course experience and every course was better than the last. The duck was amazing. The chocolate was the best. I highly recommend.

This was our first trip to Melting Pot and we were not disappointed. Alex was our server and he was fantastic! We enjoyed the San Antonio night out option and enjoyed everything that we were served. I will also add that they had a great selection of cocktails. We enjoyed every aspect of this dinner. We were there for a long time but since we were with another couple, the time passed quickly.

Another fantastic & yummy nite @ Melting Pot! Thx esp to the Managers Dwayne & Corey as well as our servers, Tori & Josh. Superb customer service, divine menu, a memorable night with family. Thx Melting Pot!

Great place to sit and talk and slowly eat. Not a sit and stuff yourself kind of place, since you cook each piece it forces you to eat how you should- slowly, which also gives you alot of time for conversation. Great date night, but girls night is so fun! If you're wanting a big thick steak, keep looking. If your wanting a good conversation and a great meal that doesnt leave you feeling like you need a wheelbarrow to get out the door, then this is your place.

The experience and the ambiance was worth it. It was expensive and the fondue experience was a lot of fun. The food was delicious.

6/26/2015 We came here since we were in town celebrating my husband's birthday. It is in a weird location with Insurance companies, salon or something and an apartment complex. When making the reservations I did let them know we will be celebrating my husband's birthday and I am a Vegetarian. They did have a card waiting for my husband's birthday. First, The cheese Fondue is per person if you do not get the 4 course meal. My husband and daughter ordered the Summer Catch Combo . Ordering was confusing. Here is how it went: First Course....Fiesta Cheese Fondue(by the way you must all agree on 1 type of fondue each person DOES NOT get their own but you are charged for it unless it comes with your 4 course meal. Second Course was a salad of your choice. Third Course is your entree (NOTE: You will be cooking your own food in a kettle type dish full of boiling water). You can ONLY select one cooking style(seasoning) so everyone must agree on the seasoning as well. Fourth Course was the chocolate fondue and you have the option of differenct types of chocolate and fixings. Ice Tea...$2.89 (2)Summer Catch Combo...$36.95 each Includes 2 shrimps, 2 nickel sized scallops, 2 crab claws 4oz. Lobster Tail on the side...$12.95 Total....$97.14 I did not order anything since I did not see any Vegetarian options but I did sample some of the fondue, salad and chocolate.

Nice place , excellent fondue of cheese the fiesta fondue very nice . The Maine course good only good we order shrimps , salmon and lobster The service really really slow bad service

The staff is always great and the food? One of my favorites! The fruit, veggies and bread are always fresh, the meats always wonderful. I love that we spend approx. 1.5 hours here. It gives us plenty of time to reconnect over dinner, taking the time to slow down and enjoy. The wine selection is good also.

Fine dining atmosphere. Friendly staff and servers. We were actually celebrating a birthday, a wedding anniversary and a new job. It was our first time. They treated us well. The server and the guests actually do the cooking at the table. Hot cook top and cooking pots probably make this a place NOT for the young ones. It is a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for and they allow you to take home your leftovers -- as long as you cook the meat and fish products. Be prepared for some spicy food products. Not a problem for most Texans, but be warned. Parking is plentiful, but the entrance is a bit tricky. The restaurant is on the corner, but the driveway entrances are a bit up from the street corner. Alexis (sp?) did a superb job as our server, and the general manager, Corey, came by the table to see how we were doing.

Excellent! If I had room, I would have eaten all 4 courses and then started over. Didn’t want it to end. We ordered: Fiesta Cheese. Best dipper was the pretzel pieces. House salads can’t be beat. I did the create your own entree with chicken, Memphis pork & filet. Wasn’t a fan of the pork, but the other two made up. Used the Bourgonyone (I know I spelled that wrong but don’t hate). We like our food fried in oil, we r from south Louisiana lol. Ying Yang with Milk Chocolate and white chocolate for dessert. Amazing! Can’t wait to go back!

If you're interested in a dining experience that includes a variety of good fondue food, excellent service, and a relaxing (albeit lengthy) time to enjoy the food and conversations with your dining companions, this is a great place to visit. Our almost-3 hour dinner that celebrated two birthdays (19 and 63 year old) with 7 diners was both socially and gastronomically satisfying. Service was excellent, and all of the staff were very attentive to our needs and questions. We all chose the 4-course meal that included a cheese fondue (several choices of dipping cheese), a salad (several choices), an entree (about a dozen single and combo selections), and a chocolate fondue dessert (with a multitude of dipping items, including fruits, Rice Krispy-type squares, etc.). The pace and preparation of the various fondue pots, the self-cooking of our ordered menu selections, and the ability to dine and socialize at whatever pace we desired, all made for an enjoyable experience - we did not realize that the meal took 3 hours until after we departed the restaurant.

Zander was our server for my father's birthday and Father's Day dinner. He made suggestions for each part of our 4 course meal and every suggestion was PERFECT. He was very attentive and made pleasant and genuine conversation. To compliment his exceptional service...the food was perfect. Go for The Mojo broth and the creme brûlée white chocolate for dessert.

If you want a unique (pricy) dinner, highly recommend. We always enjoy Melting Pot and have been to them all over the country. Great food and they prepare it right in front of you. As far as atmosphere goes, this one wasn't as nice as others. We were underdressed when we arrived and were definitely given the stink eye by the greeters when we walked in... We had a four course meal. The Quattro Formagio was good, but we prefer the Spinach Artichoke cheese. For the cooking style, we really like the Court Boullion. The Wild Mushroom Sacchetti was excellent! The Vegetables Polpettes were not good... The texture was off putting and the fennel was overpowering. To finish it all off, we love the Smores!

I like Melting Pot and their food, but my friends and I think they have some sort of scam going on with their wine prices. If you order a bottle of wine, the printed menu has one price, and they will charge you a higher amount on your bill. This happens to us every single time we go (this has literally been happening for years), so we know now to just hold back the printed menu to show the waiter the printed price in order to have the bill corrected. They have been saying they will correct the posted prices for years, but it still hasn’t happened. So, just be aware of this if you are a wine drinker.

I am a huge fan of the melting pot (literally go for every celebration and would recommend it to anyone/everyone). We always joke around because I have gone so many times that I know EVERYTHING about the menu and can describe the experience as a whole perfectly. However, I went for my birthday a couple of days ago and our waiter was one of the worst I have ever had. It was not busy and he did mention that he had only been working for a month (I knew more about the restaurant than he did). I just hope that waiters are trained fully before let loose in order for customers to have the full experience of eating at the Melting Pot. Our waiter messed up drink orders even though he had the correct information written down (not sure how this happens), brought out the wrong cheese we had asked for, did not explain the different dipping sauces (and what they taste good with), and didn't bring us our veggies and search and rescue spoon (trust me, I have been here plenty of times I know haha)! By the time we had realized that we did not have our veggies there wasn't even a point in asking for them. Unless y'all I have stopped serving veggies from the last time I went a couple months ago, I think he just forgot but its essential to be served with the entre! While our waiter was apologetic and very friendly, I just think y'all should make sure waiters are fully ready to be on their own before they are actually turned loose. I LOVE the Melting Pot and want everyone to have the same (usual) experience I have! Thanks!!

Kaleb was the absolute best server! He took the time to "care" about our preferences! Awesome service! Food was delish!

I made a reservation for 2 on 6/20 and asked about bringing my own bottle of wine and if there was a corking fee. I was told it was ok and no fee. I came in on 6/21 with a date. I was seated promptly and Morgan was our server. She was great. She opened our bottle and served us. She mentioned there may be a corking fee, I did tell her I was told no but if there was it wouldn’t be a problem. We finished the bottle and ordered a bottle off the menu. Right after dessert was served was when it quickly became a nightmare. The FOH manager Lance came by and asked about our dinner. We assumed it was a random quality check. He then began (non-discreetly, as there were other guests around) to say that we cannot bring outside wine in and I could’ve cost him $2000 in fines. I asked why mention this? A) we had already finished the bottle well before he came by and B) we asked permission and it was allowed, we brought the bottle inside in plain sight, and the server opened/poured us our first glass. I was mortified his response was in case we came back with again with another bottle! Soon after he left, I went to the lobby in private to express my disappointment. He gave the typical response “what can I do to make it better”. I’m not that guy looking for a free meal. I did NOT ask forva discount. I said you can’t do anything because I won’t be back. I came back to the table. Morgan was there and asked about our night. I was honest, but not belligerent. She tried to difuse but the damage was done. Another guest came by and was disrupted by the conversations. We didn’t see eye to eye and he went back to his table. Moments later Lance could be overheard comping their meal. This was the most unreal experience I’ve ever had. To embarass me in front of my date and others dining was unnecessary. To even mention it after the fact was pointless. What good business reason is there to do this! Take responsibility and train your staff better not blame the customer. I will never go back and will tell every living soul how bad my experience was!

My wife and I love the fondue and atmosphere. The food is usually quite good but the last tow times the portions have gotten much smaller. Expensive especially if you add some wine to your meal.

went here to celebrate childs birthday... took over 3 hours to complete meal...cooking the meat was a pain...got sick while eating..think it was the shrimp..,have no way to really tell when the food is really cooked.. why would i even want to cook on a meal out? chocolate fondue was the best part..the place should cook the meat themselves...food poisoning and cross contimination our serious possibiities...seating is uncomfortable and outdated!

My wife and I took son and family including 2 young children to celebrate son’s birthday. Dinner was part of restaurant week in San Antonio so we received a small discount from regular price. Four course included cheese fondue with bread, fruit and vegetables, salad, steak, chicken and shrimp for main course and chocolate fondue with fruit and cakes. Quantity and quality of ingredients were good and good quantity. We all enjoyed cooking our meal but especially enjoyed 10 and7 year old kids cooking and eating every bite. Pricy night out but very enjoyable.

expensive and not the best fondue experience i've ever had, but fun if you go with a big party. don't go if you are in a rush!

Excellent Service and Fantastic Evening! My family just visited the Melting Pot tonight to celebrate both my father and nieces birthdays. We had 9 people in our party and I requested a table with 3 burners. I cannot say enough good things about our visit. The staff of Melting Pot went out of their way to insure my family enjoyed the evening and that we had a great celebration. We ordered the four course dinner which started with cheese. We had 3 different cheeses and they were all excellent. Our next course was the salad and we had almost every type in our group. If you like Caesar Salad you have to try theirs. It was excellent. The house dressing is also very good. Our entrees included steak, chicken, shrimp and even tuna. My son, who is 15, loved the tuna! Our desert course was probably the best. We chose 3 different chocolates and all of them were excellent. We've been to the Melting Pot before, but this trip was by far the best. If you want a great place to celebrate I recommend the Melting Pot!! Great job guys!

Fondue is fun, and the Melting Pot conceptualizes it in a truly articulate way. I look forward to dining here, frequently on special occasions. This time was for a girls night out with two friends from out of town. We made our reservation using Open Table. They have a space for special requests. We jokingly asked to be greeted with "hiya." Our waiter sheepishly obliged, and so the night began. The four cheese, salad, the classic, and the turtle chocolate were our selections. My notes on the food: the portions were a little scarce, especially with the cheese. The main entree took much longer to cook than we were told. The salad was good, but not special. The chocolate was great. I think they've taken out some of the tastier accompaniments that you can purchase for an up charge. Half way through dinner my friend said that hail was coming our way. The waiter recommended that I move my car to the back to avoid damage. I ended up getting drenched. I don't know if this was well intentioned or a sneaky payback for the "hiya" thing. Either way. While the company was great, too many sketchy things happened to catapult this into above average. It's just alright.

This place was pretty much empty and I'd say it's because it's overpriced and just ok. If you don't want to have to cook your own food, don't come here. The other thing I don't like is you can't eat your cheese and meats together because they each require the pot for cooking. My kids were still starving when we left and we had to take them to whataburger to fill them up.

It was so amazing! And Hallie was excellent. We had no idea what we were doing and she made the best suggestions. I can’t wait to come back

Our reservation was at 7pm. The inept receptionists, three of them, said they weren’t ready and offered the bar to wait with two children in our party. The manager came out and told a lady in tight pants that our table for seven was unavailable because the party before us was still there. She was in a party of three. He totally ignored us— the true party of seven. He ran the occupying patrons off and then escorted the lady in tight pants(party of three to our table)at which point he realized his mistake and came back to tell us our table would be ready soon. At 7:25 we were seated. Our waitress did a good job but the manager and incompetent receptionist were a total disaster. We never saw the manager with eyes for tight pants again. I don’t think I’ll be frequenting The Melting Pot again.

To start, had a 930 reservation and got there at 928 and the host said it would be a little while they clean the table. I thought reservations were for a reason. Then as far as the food was concerned, it was news to us that at $110 we were going to be cooking our own food. I was use to being offered a glass of water and the whole time we were there not one time were we asked if we wanted any water to drink. We ordered cocktails that tasted like juice, seemed like a total rip off. The food was beyond a disappointment. Small little bite sizes that had absolutely positively NO taste at all. The evening with my fiance was nice and that was about it. So overrated. Won't ever do that again let alone recommend it. Don't waste your money. You're better off going to the store buying a high priced steak and cooking it at home.

Took wifey to Melting Pot in San Antonio for Anniversary dinner. We went there about 7 years ago and it was great then. This time was good however we were seated close to some families with young children and babies. They cried and screamed a time or two which sort of killed the spirit of the evening. I would recommend asking for a private area if romance is your goal. Otherwise the main party areas is what you may get. I don't recommend children go to Melting Pot unless they are old enough to enjoy it.

My husband and I went to the Melting Pot for our anniversary. When we arrived the hostess had roses waiting on the table. Our server was patient and thoroughly explained the menu. This was a very enjoyable experience.

The waiter provided excellent. Customer service. I learned that this particular restaurant is one that gets to test new ideas that the company wants to try which is kind of neat and allowed us to try some things like soft pretzels at the cheese course which were quite tasty. Normal melting pot fondue experience otherwise--they never disappoint.

On 11/29 we celebrated my wife's birthday at the Melting Pot on Blanco Road (14855) and we were lucky to have had Allison (Ali) as our server. We eat out often and to have someone as good as she is a blessing. She was efficient, knowledgeable, and pleasant. The restaurant is lucky to have someone like her.

Looking for someplace different and unique for dinner?? Then this is the place for sure. We've never done fondue before, but it was so easy and simple. They explain everything! It's a 4 course meal and you make selections in each category. We LOVED it! Will definitely be back again. The cost is up there, so maybe save for a romantic night out or if you are celebrating anything. Listen to the staff's suggestions, they know what works well together. Overall.. YUM!

Oh my gosh, if you haven't tried this restaurant, you don't know what you are missing. First experience at this restaurant and I will definitely return in the near future. The entire meal, we chose a 4-course option, is basically prepared at your table with you in charge as chef more or less! The fondue is set-up and ingredients are prepared by a knowledgeable wait staff and then you are allowed to mix it to your liking and cook your food after some basic instruction in the fondue pots at your table! Awesome experience and so much fun! Just when you think you can't eat another bite, you find room for dessert --- chocolate lovers delight ---- which allows you to cover your favorite cake, cookie, brownie, fruit in chocolate --- what could be better! Give it a try you won't be disappointed. Great place for special occasions!

I have been to the Melting Pot many many times! it's one of my favorites. My husband and I went this past Saturday night- simply to celebrate the kids being at a Parents Night Out activity. As usual, it did not disappoint! We always get the Big Night Out- Fondue Fusion with the lobster. You can't go wrong with it! Our waiter was very friendly and very good. The cheese, which is my favorite part of the meal, was amazing. The dinner plate is just the right amount of meats, and you can not beat the chocolate and the dessert! It can be great for a romantic meal or for a fun family meal or fun with friends. My 6 year old and 10 year old love going! The food is always delicious, and the service is top-notch.

Yum! Understand that your dinner will take nearly 2 hours, and cost a small fortune. But we love it so. For those of you that "don't like fondue", there's a lot more than cheese here. Yes, the cheese fondues are amazing, several varieties to choose from. Even my cheese averse hubby likes them. For mains, a wide variety of meat/seafood plates, all arriving ready to cook in your choice of cooking styles (we are partial to coq au vin, but the mojo is really good, too). Entrees are served with raw vegetables as well (which, for some reason, are no longer "unlimited"...given that they only give a few pieces for a table of 4...don't understand that...) But the best is...dessert...CHOCOLATE FONDUE! Your choice of types, served with a plate of dipping fruits and baked items. My kids practically stab me to get the last drop of chocolate.

a bit expensive but great food and fun to share

Very nice atmosphere and very cozy. Food was wonderful and each course was better than the last. Recommended.

My mother, sister and I visited the melting pot on Friday night to celebrate my upcoming birthday. I have to say the experience was very delightful. It took us about 3 hours from start to finish because we did the four course deal. Luis who was our waiter was amazing. He made sure he explained everything and always went out of his way to ensure we were satisfied at all times. I signed up for the email fan club so I received a voucher for a free box of chocolate covered strawberries (half a dozen) and they were amazing. He also brought out a chef created plate that said happy birthday in chocolate and caramel covered with strawberries. Our favorite part was the cheese and the dessert. The salads were also very good but I think next time I would pass on the meats. That process took the longest and it wasn't as good as the rest of the meal. The overall experience was amazing but the price was a little steep.

Food tastes bland, overpriced food, but friendly staff. Dinner for two was $110. Did I mention the food was bland? For the price, I was disappointed with the no taste, small portion of food, and the high cost. Won't return because that could have paid for my grocery bill.

Best restaurant in the world, but not the greatest bill.

Great food. First time trying fondu anything so delicious.

We had been to The Melting Pot in Minneapolis and knew this would be good. We had a great server, Ross, who was very helpful, competent and friendly. We went for the 4 courses - a must and enjoyed every single mouthful. Excellent tasty different food.

A must-go place! It's not your ordinary type of restaurant, just a super nice place w/ different choices of fondues (entrees and desserts).

Food was okay. I made delicious fondue at home on my first try. This was nothing special. would not go back.

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for years and my hubby gave me a gift card for Valentines to try it out for a date night. We made a reservation and we were seated at the dirtiest table. We asked the hostess when she passed by to wipe the seats so we could sit and then she turned to a passing waiter to ask him to clean it. It took at least 10 minutes for the seat to be wiped. During that uncomfortable amount of time, we really looked at the table and pot. It was filthy. The waiter finally came and wiped it down and he was sweating like a pig and out of breath trying to explain the menu. Let me tell you that sent red flags. When the waiter left I asked my husband if we could just use the gift card for drinks and we did. Unfortunately, the bar drinks were watered down. We left and went to another restaurant. I won't go back!

We were thrilled with the choices that the 4 course experience gave us. The best fondue ever! I loved the selection of 6 sauces with the main course. The ying and yang dessert chocolate was wonderful.
A different dining experience for all
A Fondue restaurant is not common so we try to visit this particular establishment each time we visit San Antonio. A three course fondue meal is quite unusual. We enjoyed every course from cheese to chocolate. The layout of the restaurant is mainly booths so there is a distinct feeling of intimacy. The service was prompt and the server knowledgeable. Although the prices are not low there were quite a few families there all enjoying this unique experience. We will return again when we return to SA
