A quintessential Chicago experience though not traditional or conventional!

By ajhorse21 |

Amazing dinner with an incredible view of the city... and we got to experience it with a groupon! When we arrived, we got to enjoy an amuse-bouche of lobster wrapped in phyllo dough drizzled in basil aioli, compliments of the chef. And that was only the beginning! The groupon entitled us to two appetizers, and we chose the lobster mac and cheese and the rosemary pierced diver scallops. Both were amazing, but the lobster mac and cheese was some of the best I've enjoyed. I could have had that for my dinner, as much as I enjoyed the pan-roasted halibut. The lobster mac and cheese was just beyond. We also got to pick two desserts, and we chose the key lime pie served in a martini glass and the chocolate lava cake. We should have picked two lava cakes... It was just perfectly cooked. Moist through and through, with just the right amount of ice cream and whipped cream to soften the richness. I had much more than I planned to, given how stuffed I was from the first two courses... Because it was just so good. Helpful hints: when you arrive at the Sears (/Willis) Tower, you have to check in on the first floor and get escorted through presidential levels of security. And see what you can do to request a window table when you make your reservation... Even though you can watch the sun set over the city from anywhere, you are essentially surrounded by it in a window seat. The third and final tip is just to come here... It's a quintessential Chicago experience though not necessarily a traditional or conventional one!

Unbelieveable views

The Metropolitan Club's service and dinner choices were equal to the unbelievable views. The menu selections were interesting

Good good, bad service

By Ethan_Begg |

We came with friends and have a very good meal and good wine. However, the service was horrible. My wife's meal was slathered in sauce even though they said it was light. She had to send it back. The food tasted great though. Our friends ordered wine by the glass and the sommelier brought it out but it had turned and the sommelier didn't catch it. Couldn't get any water after asking multiple times. Our friends ordered more wine and we had to ask for it twice before it finally came. Finally, they got the wrong wine on the receipt (a more expensive bottle) and questioned us on it (even though the empty bottle was on the table). Found out the automatic 20% gratuity goes to their salaries, so might explain the bad service. Food was good, venue was amazing, but service would prevent me from going back.

Friendly Staff and Delicious Food

By Stephanie B. |

I went here for restaurant this week because I was excited about the view and trying somewhere fancy. I was surprised by the hospitality they showed here. Every staff member was so friendly and welcoming. Not only that, but the food was delicious. It came out fresh and a nice presentation. I am hungry just thinking about it!

Food for the eyes!

By Marilyn L |

I was fortunate to have scheduled a group lunch for a dozen of my friends at the Metropolitan Club, located on the 67th floor of the Willis/Sears Tower in Chicago. This private club does not appear to be open to the public in general, but our travel planner was able to book us in. We had two round tables of 7 each--with fantastic views of the skyline framed by Lake Michigan in the background. We were in a room with a buffet--not my first choice, but it worked well for the group. Lines were minimal and staff was helpful. I would have preferred a wider variety of food, but most of the group with me was very happy. We had to go through a security line to access the restaurant--in fact, we had to provide our names in advance and show an id when we arrived. Never can be too careful these days. If you are visiting Chicago, I highly recommend a trip to this building--and all the better if you know someone who can get you into the Metropolitan Club.

Stylish venue

I was invited to the club to address a meeting of High School Principals about education in the UK. A very swanky place!

Go here instead of the Sky Deck

By Lindsay E |

My tip is to go here for lunch instead of dealing with the crowds at the sky deck! You don't have to pay to go to lunch... so have a mean, catch some views, and don't be terrified of stepping on the ledge, or have to tell your children 'no' when begging for some trinkets at the gift shop. During the week the place is great for a quiet business lunch, just not for foodies.

This is how you do class without being pretentious

I've eaten here a few times, and although the service can sometimes be patchy I always come away feeling that I had a good evening. I also never feel completely and utterly fleeced in the way I do from certain other places that put themselves in the same category. I've also spent some good after-work hours in the bar with a friend or two, and it's a very civilized place to while away the hours.

The View!!!!

We dined at the Metropolitan Club on the 67th floor of the Willis Tower. The service and the food were impeccable. The view was out of this world!

Spectacular Dining Experience

By Susan D |

My husband and I had a delightful dining experience at the Club on Saturday night. We had the crab cakes and kale salad for starters. We both had steak for dinner. For desert we had the cheesecake and bread pudding. All the food was hot, perfectly cooked and beautifully prepared. Our waiter, Jazz, was one of the nicest waiters we have ever had! You can't beat the view, food, ambiance, or friendly staff. It was a great night out in the big city! One that we will never forget! Thank you!

View without the view.

My boyfriend arranged a dinner for us here for my birthday and bought the desk off of travelzoo. My boyfriend called ahead specifically asking for a window seat since it was my birthday and that's the whole purpose of this place...the view. Upon arriving we sat in the middle of the room since all the window seats were occupied. The restaurant is very fancy but catered more towards older people. I was celebrating my 20th birthday so it didn't really appeal to us. Our waiter was a bit rude and also and laughed when my boyfriend didn't have the proper utensils to eat his food with. Very unprofessional for the price he paid for the dinner. I had the filet minion for my entree which was actually horrible and he had the lamb chops which also weren't that great. The desserts were better but nothing outstanding. Towards the end of our dinner the waiter finally had an empty table where we were able to sit.....AFTER WE ALREADY ATE. Also there was a 20% service charge on our "bill". Not sure if that was the tip or what? Very confusing. We did tip the waiter additionally though even though he really didn't deserve it in my opinion. I don't recommend to anyone under 21 and if you don't get a seat with a view it's not worth it. THE VIEW IS EVERYTHING AT THIS PLACE! room since all of the window seats were occupied.....

Gorgeous place to have a wedding!!

By Mark W |

We attended our son's wedding here in October 2012. We knew it would be a nice place but it was even nicer than we imagined. The views are amazing both in the daytime and evening. You do not need much in the way of flowers or other decor with these views as a backdrop. The dinner was outstanding - the table setting was elegant and the food was delicious. There was a lovely bar and nice dance floor. Everything went smoothly and everyone had a wonderful time. A very special place to celebrate such an important occasion.

Excellent dinner

By canadiana1ca |

We had a travelzoo voucher for dinner for 2 and skyride to the Skydeck. If you go to the Metropolitan Club for dinner then you don't have to wait in line for the elevator to the skydeck. When you are finished, the server will arrange for someone to pick you up from your table and personally bring you up to the skydeck. The view from the 66th floor is beautiful. We were lucky to have dinner at sunset. That is the wow factor besides the food. The food is adequately executed. It is very good but I wouldn't say it was as stellar as my other chicago eating experiences but I would say you come here for the ambience more.

Love the sommalier

By Anne D |

This was our 2nd visit, both with Travelzoo coupons. We went April 2013 and Sept 20, 2013. First, the Travelzoo coupon is primarily to get you in and for free desserts. We order cocktails and a fine bottle of wine so our tab goes far beyond the Travelzoo voucher. This can be a pricey dinner if you do that but worthy - mostly for the sommalier! Be prepared to go through the hassle of security and a weird path of elevator, escalator, walking. If you do Skydeck,it's totally separate and another security check on the opposite side o f the building. I suggest separating the 2.We were dressed for dinner mingling with sightseeers. The ambiance is lovely. Aim for sunset - the room of windows gets flooded with soft light and the views are amazing. It wasn't remotely crowded either time so you can get up and walk over to a window for a better look. This second visit had plusses and minuses. Plus was live piano, sunset, people all nicely dressed for dinner & no little kids. Minuses were a lame waiter and a LOUD wine tasting party that fortunately settled down after a while. Service was amazing our first visit but this time Jimmie just wasn't the right type of waiter for this setting. He's a street kid in fine dining. Be warned your tab comes with a 20% service charge couched deep in the tab. We think we missed it last time. The sommalier (I think her name is Iga) is amazing - knowledgable, friendly, engaging and has recommended INCREDIBLE wines each time that sealed our experience. We LOVE her. She made both visits OUTSTANDING. Yes we paid $100-150 a bottle each time but if you are an oenophile, you will appreciate her, her rec's, her conversation. Stellar or as hubby says, off the hook! Worth the visit - just for her recs. I mean YUMMY perfect wines. Food is very good overall with elements of excellence. This time we shared the corn chowder which was rich, nice and lobster mac n cheese which was ok. I had lamb chops and hubby had osso bucco. Both hearty, tasty, but not super stellar. Got a marrow fix though courtesy of hubby sharing. Desserts were orange creme brulee and a pound cake which were average at best. Bread is very good. We had an amuse bouche of a sweet potato soup accented with what I think was nasturtium and like Durkee onions which was actually quite nice. I would recommend theTravelzoo or similar coupon for my grown kids, a young couple to have a romantic fine dining experience if they avoid/limit alcohol to keep it manageable OR to wine lovers who can expect good/very good fare and a sommalier extraordinaire n a pretty nice setting. I think it would be a lovely proposal setting actually. :)

Buyer beware of a 20% “service “ charge

By Rena G |

Buyer beware this restaurant charges a 20% service charge for absolutely nothing. They say it is because it is a private club but you have no way of knowing that until you are in the restaurant reading their menu. So between the service charge and the tip you are paying 40% of your total bill. The food is average at best in my opinion and the craftsman dining room has an old vibe playing elevator music. I would not recommend it. There are so many better restaurants in Chicago I am extremely disappointed in the amount we paid for the food. The value is not there. I asked about the 20% service charge and nobody could really explain it. Finally I got a manager and he was extremely rude. I rarely write reviews but I don’t want other people to be taken advantage of as we were.

A large customer meeting and I took them to the Met Club. We had a private room with an incredible view. The food here is impeccable as well as the service. You will not disappoint your guest by dinning here!

Christmas Celebration

By Travel Fairy |

My family spent the weekend before Christmas in Chicago. One family member has a membership to the Metropolitan club and arranged for us to have dinner. The food was divine, the service exceptional, and the views? What can be said about views of Chicago from the 67th floor of the Willis Tower on a clear night? Nothing but, SPECTACULAR!

Not impressed

By d00d26 |

Knowing that some people get all jazzed about being in a "private club", I must preface my review with... We aren't those kind of people. We were given a TravelZoo voucher as a gift, and we're excited to use it. The night of our 'dinner' came and it was horrible weather...rainy and gloomy and it took us 1-1/2 hrs. into get into the city. Never the less, it was going to be a nice night. Our voucher included appetizer, entree and dessert. We were able to choose anything from the menu. Well the food was decent, and beautifully presented. The appetizer were a bit scant. I had the scallops (for $15) and it included 2...yes, I said 2 scallops next to a mount of spinach. Hubby had the crab cakes. Wait, I mean crab CAKE. 1 crab cake...for about the same price, Wouldn't have been an issue at all, right...as we could choose ANYTHING from the menu, right? Hubby ordered the rib eye steak, I had the salmon. Steak was unimpressive, not "melt I your mouth" as expected from an establishment like this. Well, though it was stated clearly that there would be a 20% service charge (in lieu of a tip) added to each bill...what was unknown, was that the service charge was on the price of the actual food that you selected from the menu...not the value of the voucher. Are you with me? So, even though we had a voucher for our meal (which included anything on the menu) we still paid $74 ...this covered the tax, service charge and the glass of wine that we each had. Most expensive glass of wine I ever had! This could have been a magical evening, enjoyed with a view of the city at night. Instead, It was just a bit strange. The walk to the washroom was thru a service corridor. We were the only ones in the restaurant for most of the time. And then the bill. I would be embarrassed to give a gift like this to someone and then find out that they had such a huge bill on top of that. ( needless to say, we will not share this with the gifted.) I get the service charge/ tip part. You have to show appreciation for the wait staff. Our server, Jimmy, was great by the way! But it should have been off of the original value of the voucher. I must say, though...the chocolate turtle cake was TO DIE FOR. Best I've ever had! So BUYER BEWARE... Those promotions are not a good as they appear!

Truly Fine Dining!

By rjander |

We went for dinner on a Saturday to celebrate my wife's birthday. The restaurant is very beautiful and was a romantic setting. Service was excellent. The food was phenomenal. We started with seared foie gras. It was out of this world good. My wife had rack of lamb that was perfect in every way. I had the pork belly cassoulet that was wonderful. The wine list was very nice and quite reasonable. This is a high end but wonderful place to eat.

An Elevated Dining Experience in the Iconic Willis Tower

By Benjamin W |

For New Years Eve, my wife and I celebrated over a 5-course meal at The Globe, The Metropolitan's premiere restaurant. Located on the 67th floor and overlooking Chicago, the restaurant offered sweeping views and the perfect, intimate spot to catch the fireworks off of Lake Michigan. Beyond the elevated dining experience, The Metropolitan is one of the best social business clubs in Chicago. The club's members are some of the best well-connected in Chicago and your membership includes access to over 300 other clubs across the US. If you are interested in membership, get in touch. I'd love to share more with you!

This club has an identity crisis

By Sheenz1701 |

We had a travel zoo voucher for Dinner for 2 + Skydeck this weekend. My husband and I were looking forward to a romantic date night, so I was in a dress and he wore dress slacks and a button up shirt. The club has a pretty specific dress code that strictly says "no jeans". Upon arrival, we were greeted by the concierge and a club representative. We had reservations and were seated immediately. We requested a spot by the window, but those spots appeared to be full before we were sat. It wasn't a huge deal because our chairs faced a wall of windows and we could still see out and enjoy the view. We were greeted by our server, who was in a blue and white checked shirt and jeans. This appeared to be the server uniform. It was a little confusing based on the type of establishment we appeared to be in. The uniform looked more appropriate for a Cracker Barrel. Our server was very, very nice, but the service was VERY SLOW. I understand pacing the evening, but we sat with dirty plates for over 20 minutes most of the time before they were cleared. We ordered the seafood platter appetizer because I had a craving for raw oysters. When it arrived, it came with three dipping sauces. Our server stated she had no idea what they were and laughed and we never did find out what sauces came with our food. The oysters were below average, but everything else on the platter was on par or above average. We both ordered the beef tenderloin. It stated a 10 oz cut, but these things were MONSTER. So a great deal. They had to be closer to 14 oz. I'm usually pretty picky about beef cuts, which is why I stick to tenderloin. My cut of tenderloin was not a choice cut and had a lot of marbling/tendons in it. It also wasn't flavorful. I only ate about half. My husband also complained of tendons in his, but overall enjoyed his and finished it. We also ordered a side of gratin which I wouldn't recommend. We waited quite a long time between dinner and dessert, but that was fine. We weren't in a hurry and we were very full. The brownie cake dessert was exquisite and very delightful. Afterward, we were escorted directly up to the Skydeck through a VIP elevator and didn't have to wait in line, which was nice. It was a clear night with a beautiful view. Overall a nice experience, but I probably wouldn't go back to the Metropolitan Club for dinner. The overall experience of dinner did not live up to the price on the menu. (Especially when there are so many other places with better food).

Mixed review

First the bad news… It’s on the 67th floor of the Willis tower building… Security took us through a TSA like entry as I went through the scanner I set it off with my metal hip but, they didn’t even check to see if I was packing a piece or not. So, Security is of little value Then they told us to take the elevator to the 67th floor for the club… We did and on the 67th floor they told us we’d have to walk down to the 66 floor to the restaurant… We did and on the 66 floor they told us we’d have to go to the 67th floor for the club… The elevator was not available so we had to walk up. By then I was ready to pack it in but because we had made these arrangements we continued. Our server Victor was excellent…And the food was excellent When we left the elevator was not available to take us down so we got on a service ...warehouse type elevator and went to the ground floor. Would we return? Probably not.

Delicious meal, excellent service.

The views alone are worth the trip, and then add in how great the food was and you have a winner. The staff was very accommodating and we greatly enjoyed our evening.

Great View and Dining Experience!!

By 720MarkW720 |

What a great view of the city from the 67th floor of the Willis Tower (formerly the Sears Tower)! They certainly know how to serve their clientele and have a fabulous menu that should satisfy any one's taste!!!

Awesome is understated!

By Chere D |

Ultimately, one of the finest restaurants on the map! The atmosphere doesn't come much better.... couple that with delicious food and service from Daniel and you have an evening of fondness! Sea Scallops are the sweetest amongst sweet, Halibut was superb. Dining company had Lobster macaroni and cheese, Beef Tenderloin and Lamb Chops......all winning five stars! Presentation was beautiful, window seat with a magnificent view of the city. We were very impressed with the knowledge of our server who was a delight to our evening. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who appreciates the art of dining!

Well Worth the Security Check to go up into the Tower

This was by far a highlight of our trip to several cities. A thrilling view, delicious drinks, and excellent food. The Wait Staff was professional and very attentive.

Classy Club in the Willis (nee Sears) Tower

By Hunter S |

Tripsters- My boyfriend and I got a whopper of a deal for this place and scheduled a date night. Definitely check Groupon or other like sites before you go. Also you should know there is a strict business casual dress code (no jeans) for the main dining room. So I can't speak to the internal ambiance BUT I can tell you the views are stellar and the service is superb while dining in the lounge. Finally the meat (#punning) of the review. We absolutely loved the filet, the tuna poke, the salad, the entrees sides, the martinis and our desserts. To be honest the ribeye I had was okay. It was a little dry but the dish was saved by the sauce. So if you're choosing between the filet and the ribeye then I recommend the filet.

Food Prep Could Use Some Tweaking

By Arnold |

I recently dined at the Metropolitan Club restaurant, which has a very nice menu. While the setting and service were excellent, my meal fell short. I ordered the lamb chops accompanied by "stacked potatoes" (similar to an au gratin), a baked tomato and asparagus. I ordered the lamb chops medium-rare. When the plate arrived I noted the lamb was cooked medium-well and, as a result, the chops were dry and not so tender. The stacked potatoes were a bit undercooked and luke warm. Because we were in a bit of a rush to catch a train back to the suburbs, I could not send the meal back and therefore did not bring this to the attention of the waiter. That said, at a restaurant of this caliber (and price), I should not have had to mention this. The food should have arrived as ordered and at the proper temperature. My spouse thought the haddock she ordered as here entree was a bit bland; i.e. not spiced much, if at all. We did enjoy our appetizers of Oysters Rockefeller and seared scallops.

Great dinner, ambience and views!

Found a travelzoo coupon for dinner for two with add on Sky Deck visit. Well worth the combo! Food was delicious, staff was friendly. City views amazing!

The view and food are amazing!

By Razen2002 |

We had a corporate dinner party at The Metropolitan Club this past weekend and the experience could not have been better. We arrived just in time to see the views and watch the sunset, then the whole city lit up at night. The views were a real treat. The food and service were great. I ordered a filet mignon, mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables. The steak was so tender and cooked perfectly. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a special experience and I will definitely return.

Great views and great service

By TheGeromovers |

Enjoyed a three course meal. We were able to request a window table and they accommodated. Great food and drinks. Also great service, very attentive. Needs a reservation but you could also go to get a drink and there are great views from the bar. Make sure to come a couple minutes early to check in at security and make it to the top. Great for first timers to Chicago because of the view.

Memorable Experience in the Willis Tower

Beautiful views of the city, especially at night. Food and service are top notch! If you have the opportunity to dine here it is worth the $$$.

Wonderful - All Ways

By Joe_Dokes |

Amazing experience from start to finish. Staff, food, and view - all were amazing. We were taken straight to a table by the window, with amazing views. The server was very nice, and the food was terrific. All around great. I only wish my stomach was larger! We used a Coupon but they didn't care and treated us like royalty.

Wonderful dining experience!

By Crystal C |

My husband and I took our son and his girlfriend here for dinner while on a short trip to Chicago It was a wonderful evening. We went on a Thursday night and it was not crowded at all. We had excellent service. The food was great! We sat by the window and the view was amazing! It was a evening to remember. It is was more expensive than we would normally spend on dinner or a night out but was worth it for an occasional splurge!

Weekend Chicago visit

Second to none service. Wonderful view of the city, table at the window. A definite must. Food was cooked to perfection.

terrible wedding planner ever !!!!!!

By Zhouyang W |

My wife and me had wedding in this club, and their service is horrible, the director of event she looked like so busy that even didn't reply our emails on time always late couple days. and her information was so limited so we needed to ask her so many times about all the details, it made us feel tired and confused a lot. she gave us that a feeling of irresponsible for her job as a DIRECTOR!!!!!!

Overrated but the view is great!

By ccwings04 |

My wife purchased a voucher for $89 from Travelzoo for dinner at this restaurant in the Willis Tower (was the Sears Tower) and I am glad she did for the menu prices were very expensive. We has our choice on appetizer, entrée and dessert from the menu with wine if we wanted. I ordered crab cakes, tenderloin steak with two sides and pound cake with peach compote for dessert. My meal alone would have come to over $100 so the voucher was a bargain. The kicker was that the food was mediocre at best and the service was slow. The view from the 67th floor toward Lake Michigan and parts of Chicago was fantastic but the security to just get in the building and up to the club is daunting plus it is not easy to find your way down and out because there are scant directions. My advice is that Chicago has some of the best steak houses and restaurants in the world so don't waste time and money here.

Great Views of the City

By The_Exec_Backpacker |

I stopped by the club for drinks and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing view the club has to offer. Try to get a seat by the window and you will be able to see the whole city. The staff was great. The drinks were also fantastic.

Special dining experience

Sat at a window table on the 67th floor of the Wills Tower. Security to get into the building very tight. Unbelievable view of Chicago at night. Had The Filet. Done just right. Fine wine.

Tourist things are popular for a reason

By postmomsyndrome |

My husband and I have traveled to Chicago a number of times and always avoided the 'tourist' things. With our son graduating from SAIC we decided that maybe we should do some of those things since we might not be back for a while. One of those things was the Metropolitan Club in the Willis (Sears) Tower. Open Table showed openings at pretty much all hours so we were a bit hesitant. Don't be. It was a lovely experience, 67 flights up overlooking the beautiful city. The service was exceptional. The food was good, traditional club fare. Drinks were yummy. The view outstanding. And the whole experience was hassle free. That is a nice bonus from the rushing around that travel can be. A couple of tips: Come at dusk if you can. The city will be gorgeous from that vantage point. And come early. There is a bit of security to get through.

NICE BUSINESS AND SOCIAL CLUB

By PETERMEX |

In the 67 floor of the Willis Tower you find the Metropolitan Club. Is an Old School semiprivate club. Is a good place to have lunch, dinner o visit the bar for a game and some drink with fantastic show views.

Great view and excellent dishes

By Alexander P |

Was able to score a deal and had our "date night" dinner here. I had a race the next morning so had an early reservation at 530 so we decided to get there early and have a couple of drinks at the bar. The view from the bar is great in itself and the bartender was friendly and helpful with the wine list. Food was great (I had snails in cream sauce for apps, mahi mahi for main course, pretty solid) but what made the dinner spectacular was the view and the private elevator to the skydome where we had our ledge picture taken.

Lovely dining experience

By nursenjm |

Beautiful view, soft music, phenomenal food. Every course was 4star. There were only a few tables, service was excellent. Dinner was paced perfectly, time to enjoy each course and the experience. The scallop appetizer was amazing-would have never thought to eat it with grapes, but the sweetness complimented the scallops instead of detracting. My halibut was some of the best I have had.

Outstanding food, service and view!

By Buzz P |

Terrific spot. Be sure to bring photo ID for security and to book a reservation thru Open Table. The food and service is unbeatable. Great place to take visitors to Chicago... museums, ball parks etc are OK, but to top it off with a meal at the Met Club is an experience they will never forget. Magnificent!

Best "high-rise" restaurant in Chicago...so far!

By koala4 |

We've eaten at the top of the Hancock, and also Lake Point Towers and they did not even begin to compare with Willis Tower's Metropolitan Club. (Trump was good, but very expensive) We enjoyed an early dinner on Saturday and watched the city light up. It was stunning. I just can't believe how well we were treated, because we have never been treated this well at the other high-rise restaurants we've tried. We were greeted warmly and immediately seated at a window and best of all, as far as possible from other occupied tables, so our conversations remained private and intimate (a rare move - restaurants usually cram patrons close together to make it easier for servers) We did not care for the way they made our chocolate martinis and talked to or waiter, Jimmy about it. Jimmy, graciously took them back and much to our astonishment remade them to our liking! Jimmy is AWESOME. The staff, view, quiet atmosphere, drinks, food, and privacy were exquisite. I highly, highly recommend this restaurant and waiter Jimmy!

Beautiful Daylight to Dark Views. And the food and service was Great.

By kwo911turbo |

I went there on business with a friend. It's downtown in the Willis Tower, I think it was the 67 floor. We had a great table with an outstanding view. The transition between daylight to sunset to dark was beautiful. I had the rack of lamb and he had the filet. Both were cooked and served perfectly. We finished off the dinner with a few after dinner drinks and desert . This is one of those places where it is good for special occasions like anniversaries, birthdays, etc. For me, it was a very memorable evening discussing business with a friend and enjoying the overall experience.

A rare opportunity for dinner among the clouds

By Tom B |

We have been here several times using TravelZoo vouchers, and it remains one of our favorite dining spots in Chicago. The food is very good and the service has always been excellent. We book early in the evening to enjoy the daylight view and the transition to night, depending on the time of year. The bar is an excellent place to congregate before dinner and allows TravelZoo visitors to run a tab.

Windy City Restaurant That Doesn't Blow You Away

By SOCIAWG |

We had a TravelZoo voucher ($89.00) for a dinner for two – two appetizers, two entrees, two desserts and a 20% discount on wine – at The Metropolitan Club in the Willis Tower. The Club is located on the 67th floor of the Willis Tower. To gain entry to the Club, you must first check-in at a desk in the lobby where you are required to confirm your reservation and show a picture ID in order to be issued an “entry pass.” You then proceed to the security screening point where you will pass through a metal detector and have your handbags screened in an x-ray machine. After clearing security you take an escalator to the elevator bank, ride the elevator to the 66th floor and then take a second escalator to the 67th floor. Upon checking in at the Club’s reception, we were given one of the least desirable tables, with a view to the west (away from Lake Michigan) and with the sun glaring in on the table. I had to ask to have the sheer drapes closed because the sun was so intense at just after 7:00 p.m. We ordered a bottle of California chardonnay ($44.00), our appetizers and our entrees. My wife ordered the “roasted beet salad” for her appetizer and said that it was very good. I ordered the crab cakes ($16.00). The following is directly from the Club’s menu: “Crab Cakes Sauce gribiche, frisee, watercress and grilled lemon.” Based on the word “cakes”, I expected there would be more than one crab cake. There wasn’t. Instead there was one average size crab cake. I suppose they could have served two small crab cakes instead of one average size crab cake, but I found the menu description misleading. I also found the one crab cake rather mediocre – it was dry and not very tasty. For our entrees, my wife ordered the “Dijon crusted halibut” ($32.00). It didn’t taste much like Dijon mustard, but instead was very lemony. The fish was quite good. The risotto was also very lemony and tasty assuming one likes lemon flavor. I ordered the “blue crab salmon” ($30.00). Again, I found the menu description of the plate misleading. (Because the current menu is not on the Club’s website, I cannot point on what I thought was a discrepancy in the description but I expected a pasta dish with "crumbled" blue crab and salmon.) What was served was a fair size piece of salmon stuffed with crab, a serving of pasta with a cream sauce on the side along with some vegetables. Although the salmon was flavorful, I found the blue crab stuffing rather tasteless as well as the pasta. Our server was efficient, but leisurely. What we found a bit odd was that when she presented the bill, she said that the automatic 20% service charge covered the “space use fee” and that she did not receive any of that as a gratuity. Well, here is what is printed on the bottom of the Club’s menu: “For your convenience The Club will add a 20% service charge to all F&B purchases. There is no need for additional gratuities.” Our voucher also stated that no additional gratuity was required. On our bill, the 20% service charge amounted to $29.80. So what’s the scoop here? The Metropolitan Club is a good place to go to view the city (assuming you get a decent table), but don’t expect to be blown away by the food.

This one was a total surprise at how nice it the experince was

By 2travelisgreat |

This club is a wonderful place to dine. From the appetizers to the entrees to the desserts, the foods were very well presented and delicious. The service was excellent. If you want a nice view, come early -north windows are a great way to see the city. There is also a private elevator for going to the WIllis Tower (old Sear Blg) obseravation deck. We loved our visit to this restaurant. Tip: The cost can be a bit pricy but it is worth the experience. The gratuity is already included at around 20% of the bill. The tip is well deserved.

Put on your fancy pants

By Marquita S |

4 stars for great quality food, fast and friendly service and staff, and the view! Well put on your fancy pants and enjoy their decadent apps, dishes and desserts. Apps: I had their scallops for appetizer and man, it was like eating a piece of heaven. It's was soft and spongy, lots of flavor and perfectly cooked. I tried the beef carpaccio and that was super delish and perfectly prepped meat. Skip the oysters app, not crazy about the spinach topping Entree: I had the filet mignon and although I appreciate the quality, I thought the taste was pretty average. My sister had the tuna and that was to die for! Desserts: I had the lava cake, banana bread pudding and crime brûlée. Wow!!!! Get them all!!! The view was absolutely phenomenal as Chicago is just stunning. We watched the sunset from our table and that experience alone made this $$$ dinner worth it. TIP: when making your reservation, ask for a window seat. And don't forget to press your pants, hair, and your atm. Jussayin.

Hidden treasure

By Passepartout1530 |

For the tourist this is an hidden gem. We discovered it for Saturday evening dinner between Christmas and New Year and it was not busy at all. An old fashioned club for which you have to book and become an honourable member for the night it is accessed via the main reception and a fast elevator. We had a window table with a spectacular view of the lights across Greater Chicago. The server was very friendly but not obtrusive and for a younger person had a good knowledge of the cellar. The food was good, and with the view and the atmosphere we had a memorable night and felt we had found something a little different off the tourist trail.

A Little Torn?

By Traveler23Chicago |

I went in between rating this restaurant a three or four star experience. I guess that makes my true rating a 3.5. Here's why: 1. the food was very good, however the scallop appetizer was a little under cooked for myself and three others out of the six in my party. Everyone did enjoy the dinner entrees and we all ordered different dishes. I had the slow cooked beef and it was great, but the mashed potatoes were bland. 2.The view was good and we did go up the Sky Deck afterward. 3. Our waiter left a lot to be desired. He was rude and short and even snippy at times. A real smart aleck and not in a cute and clever way, if that's even possible. So he really brought the entire experience way down. If you want a good meal, upscale atmosphere and good view definitely try this place. For the value of the Travelzoo voucher it was worth the experience, but nothing we will be hurrying back to any time soon.

Celebratory Dinner choice

By SaharaBlonde |

Excellent choice for a celebratory dinner with spectacular views and very good food! Make sure to come at sunset for best view. Security downstairs goes by fairly fast too and this was on a Friday evening. Doesn't get too crowded. Actually had purchased a Travelzoo voucher for a full dinner and it was an excellent choice for a very memorable first weekend to Chicago.

Romantic with a wonderful view of the City

By CindyC0910 |

We sat in the Bar area, due to the fact their were no window seats available for us in the Restaurant. I had made a reservation 5 weeks prior requesting a reservation with a window seat. BUT, the booth we sat in near the bar was romantic and we had a beautiful view of the West side of Chicago. Next time I would request to sit in the restaurant and view the East side. This is definitely a must come back! At first the service was slow. It seemed as if there was no set server in the bar for us. But, overall, we were served, and enjoyed the evening immensely. The food was fantastic. The only complaint would be, it was served warm, not hot. I had the short bibs (tender and yummy), and my husband had the Peppercorn Tenderloin/Filet, (Fantastic). Overall experience was awesome.

Pea Soup view to clear and a great dinner!

By RJK_Chicago |

We bought a coupon for dinner for two, thinking that for $89 for two appetizers, two entrées, and two desserts, how could we go wrong? We were right. We had cocktails beforehand, in the bar. The service was impeccable, the view that should have been spectacular was total pea soup (it cleared, however, by the end of our stay)! The bar was a bit tired, the tables needed refinishing or replacement. We didn't care. Our restaurant experience was perfect. We were placed with a pea soup view facing east that finally lifted, exposing the city and a view of the lake and even the Hancock building (although the ceiling did not expose the top). Our soup and salad were delicious, as was the warm, freshly baked bread. Our entrée ribeye steaks were made to perfection and accompanied by a great sauce. Dessert and coffee were wonderful. This was a great experience, from start to finish and I would highly recommend it.

Excellent view...

By arlenejustice |

My husband decided to take me to this fancy restaurant for late mother's day celebration. If you're not familiar with the restaurant, it is a little confusing. When you get off the elevator, you see the sign but it wasn't the entrance. It was actually on the L side corner hallway. The entrance is nice, there is a girl behind the table but she is not the hostess. She will just tell you where to meet the hostess which is just around the corner. The host wasn't there when we came in, so my husband and I waited and waited. There were another girl behind another counter, she saw us but no acknowledgement, I think she is the wine lady. When the host finally came in, he sat us in a nice table with a beautiful view of downtown at nightime. Our waitress and waiter were both excellent. THe food wasn't as good but just fine and it is expensive. I think people come in here for mostly the view.

Good food - not so brillant customer relations

By LAKTEX |

Let me start out by saying our waitress for the evening, Fe, was brilliant. The rest of the staff were rubbish and two were positively rude. It was a clear night so the views were superb, a nice table by the window, looking North was just right. The greeting at the restaurant was disgusting, there was no one at the desk so we walked in and we told to go back to the desk, then some guy asked "Do you have a name" - I thought that was incredibly rude, told him so but no apology. The meal was pretty good, the salads very nice and the steaks pretty good. Absolutely nobody to see you out and say goodbye - this is all possibly the reason that the restaurant was virtually empty. Great shame - it could be brilliant with some attention to detail. I usually conclude with a "would I return" statement. This time I am not sure - a great letdown on customer service always turns me off. I think the Hancock is better geared for service.

Fancy American Cuisine

By RML1 |

If asked what is fancy, classic American cooking I would point to this place. I had filet mignon, my wife had rack of lamb and both were excellent. Also, being high in the Willis Tower the views are breathtaking. Be aware, though, this is a special occaision place (we went for my birthday) as it's very expensive. Great and attentive service.

Valentine's dinner

By Greg S |

This was our first time in Chicago and dinner at the Metropolitan Club definitely made it memorable. Christina, our server was outstanding ! She not only took really good care of us for dinner, but also gave us some really great suggestions on how to spend out last day in the windy city. Thanks again Christina ! You rock!

Great service and food!

By Rick V |

Went here after experiencing the Skydeck. The ambiance was awesome, and I had some of the best crabcakes I've ever had! Our waiter was attentive and pleasant, he made us feel very welcome. Although it was a bit pricey, the food and service were well worth it.

Don't Go

By Mitch M |

This place is a leftover concept from the eighties. Most of these types of clubs have either shut down or are on life support. Metropolitan is on life support. They pretend to be fine dining and pretend to be a private club but they aren't. Napkins had holes in them, silverware was bent, uniforms were worn out, no dress code and one of the waitresses must have thought she was at her day job at Chili's and was wearing fake antlers on her head. But here's the grand finale and the real reason this place is becoming extinct. Without warning, either when reservations were made, on the menu, or when the waiter introduced himself, they added a 20% up charge on the entire meal and couched it as a "food and beverage" surcharge. After the evening was ruined the waiter was quick to point that this was not his tip. What was supposed to be a nice evening turned out to be a horrible one. This place deserves to go out of business and probably will.

Great view

By Carolemh16 |

The view and food were excellent. Very tasty bread and lovely amuse bouche followed by good main and dessert. Not heap but worth it or a special occasion.

Uninspiring Meal

By Brazeit |

Had high expectations for this semi-private restaurant in the Willis Tower. The location is very nice - on the 67th floor with great views. Every other aspect felt "dated" as if we were dining 15 years ago. Everything was "fine" but nothing was special. The kitchen is in desperate need of a revival - probably a new chef with new ideas. Won't be going back.

Perfect Birthday Nightcap

By Jaime B |

I couldn't have planned a better ending to my birthday celebration weekend than how it ended. Thanks to a friend I ended night with drinks on the 67th floor of the Sears Tower (Willis Tower). The views of Chicago are amazing and I could have spent hours just admiring the view from the floor to ceiling windows.

Fine dining. Even finer view.

By Scot L |

3 of us had dinner here in the main dining room. The view was fantastic, of both the city and the lake. It was a bit of a hassle going through security, taking the elevator to the 66th floor, and then walking up 1 flight. The dining room was almost empty. We went there as members of a different Club Corp club, and had an experience which was well worth it. The standouts were the crab cake appetizer, the caesar and kale salad, and the scallops entree. The remaining food choices were just OK. The service and ambience were great.

Great place for work functions. On 66th floor of Willis (Sears) Tower

By Elise_NC |

We had a work function here. Great setting. Lucky for a clear night with a good view. The staff did a great job with drinks and apps. A easy bathroom access on the floor. Definitely consider this for your next corporate gathering.

Good food, good atmosphere

By mefinVA |

The restaurant is on the 67th floor of the Sears Tower, now the Willis Tower, so the view is wonderful. I ordered the ahi poke for an appetizer and it was superb. My husband chose the lobster ravioli which he thought was good but not as good as the poke. For my main course, I had a small rack of lamb, which was also excellent. Even though there were only three chops, there was more than enough food. My side dish was a quinoa and vegetable mixture that just tasted odd to me. My husband had ordered saltimbocca which is supposed to be thinly sliced veal, with a sauce which includes some cheese. Instead it was breaded veal patties, thick, with a dollop of cheese on top. He wasn't thrilled with it at all. For dessert, I had blackberry cabernet and passion fruit sorbet, which was just about the only thing available for those who are lactose intolerant. Fortunately, the sorbet was delicious. Their wines are rather expensive but there are a lot of choices. We were able to get a bottle of the Meiomi Pinot Noir which they usually carry only in their bar, but it's our favorite and the sommelier was very accommodating. The atmosphere is quite charming and elegant. The service was a bit slow. There seemed to be a lot more time between courses than there should have been. We weren't in a hurry, but we didn't expect to be there nearly 3 hours.

Exquisite Experience and Food

By Peppertaz |

Ok not being one for expensive food this place was fabulous. We got a Travel Zoo deal which made things 1/2 price pretty much. This place has the important location, location, location thing going for it and included is a trip up to the sky deck allowing you to bypassing all the lines and crowded elevator up to the 103rd floor. We were a bit early for our reservation so we were offered to have a seat in the bar, which had some nice views and we were able to get a look around. The view from here wasn't too bad at 66 floors up and the service and ambiance was everything you expect from a fancy restaurant. Our server Joanne was fabulous and really wanted to make our experience the best. She was very professional, knowledgable and treated everyone like this was a very special occasion. They were in no way influenced by the fact we used a coupon and they treated us like celebrities. Joanne made suggestions and helped with wine selection and was just a fabulous addition to our experience at the Club. We started with Oyster Rockefeller, and Rosemary Diver Scallops, both fabulous! I had the pan roasted Halibut and my friend had Veal Oso Buco. The portions were rather large so you certainly get your moneys worth here. I wasn't able to finish all of my entree and neither was she but they were boxed up for us to take home. For dessert we finished off with Chocolate Hazelnut Torte and I had the Chevre Martini, which was awesome! It was goat cheese cheesecake served in a martini glass with caramel and fresh raspberries this was the highlight of my meal being a cheesecake lover as this was so unique in presentation and richness. If you get the opportunity to come dine here I highly recommend this place. They have it all. I cannot say enough about this place. While we were there someone actually proposed to their girlfriend it was a perfect romantic place to do just that. Anniversaries, birthdays etc if you have a chance come check them out.

Perfect!

By Sassbrydon |

I had the opportunity to eat here during the RSNA 2014 and it was splendid. The atmosphere was great, and the food was perfect. I had their Chicago steak and it was great. Even though there were lots of people dining, it was still quiet enough to hear everyone around the table. The view from the Metropolitan Club is spectacular.

Great Food and Awesome View

My friend took me to this club for dinner. The host was nice to sit us next to the window when I could the Chicago awesome view from top. The food was excellent too!

Metropolitan Club

By hello493 |

We had planned on getting married here. After signing the contract, Ashley did not once contact us to follow up. Finally 5 months from our wedding I had to call her and she finally sent me a time line on when and how to get things going - pick out linen, taste test food, reach out to the bakery to cake taste test and so on. We unfortunately had a terrible family incident and needed to reschedule the date. They keep your $5,000 deposit and then some depending on the date you were at in the contract. By the time we heard back on available dates from Ashley and manager Rick, we were already at the %50 timeline and would have to pay $11,000 unless we resigned a new contract right away then it would have been %40 ($9,000). Mind you, we spoke to them between November/December and they had several dates still open in 2017- March, April, May, August,October and November. So they wanted us to pay $9,000 then resign the contract and pay a new $5,000 deposit and start all over. Even though they reiterated that they tried to work with us the best they could, I think its sad to charge your customer $11,000 even though you are going to still book with the venue. All we needed was a new date due to unfortunate circumstances, yet they still charge you a tremendous amount of money. Maybe when signing the contract they should let their customers know of this in advance. Whats even worse is that we paid the $11,000 and said we still planned on getting married here and we have not heard from Ashley or Rick once...... Took the money and could care less. Terrible-

Great Private Party Venue!

We hosted a reception here and could not have been more pleased! Lovely presentation of hors d'oeurves, terrific bartender, and the best view in Chicago. A WOW all the way around!

Excellent service and food.

By D W |

It was a birthday dinner and chosen by the birthday girl. Initially I was hesitant because my prior visit during lunch was just ok. I was extremely pleased with the difference in food quality and service!!! We were not rushed and had an absolutely wonderful evening!!! And of course the best view in the city.

Very Poor Quality Food

By Archie1963 |

Last evening my husband and I dined in the Metropolitan Club. The view was amazing, however the food certainly was not. My appetizer of foie gras consisted of four of the tiniest pieces of liver I have ever seen on a plate along with lots of French toast. When I express my surprise to the server she immediately brought me another few pieces of the liver. Having been reassured by the server that Fire Grilled fish was actually fire/flame grilled I was looking forward to a nice piece of fish. What I received was a greasy, pan fried piece of fish that clearly never saw a flame or a fire. The veg and lentils were very basic. My husband ordered steak which was described as being accompanied with mushrooms and potatoes. There wasn't a mushroom in sight. Once we brought this to the server's attention she hastily got the manager who had the audacity to 'explain' to us that the mushrooms were 'melted' into the potatoes, if it wasn't so expensive at over $40 for the steak it could have been funny. The grilled asparagus was limp and sad. The red wine was chilly, while the white wine was close to room temp and the prosecco had no bubbles. I over heard the diners at the next table also complain about no mushrooms with the steak and the fact that their pink champagne had no bubbles. Their server seemed to accept the fact that there were no mushrooms and immediately offered them a side of mushrooms. To be fair to the staff they removed the cost of the fish from the bill and insisted that we had a free ride to the top of the building to enjoy the view, While never accepting that anything was wrong! I absolutely hate it when restaurant staff treat the customers as complete fools and offer unbelievable excuses. Why not just put your hands up and accept that a mistake was made? show some respect for the customer! The espresso was great and our server was extremely friendly and cheerful.

Terrific Food, Service and View!

By Forbes B |

The dining room at the Metropolitan Club is very elegant and on the 67th floor of the Willis Tower offers great panoramic views of the city. The staff are eager to please and very competent. The food was superb with excellent plate presentation. The meal service was relaxed and unhurried. I will certainly visit again when I am in Chicago.

Mediocre At Best

By Gregg M |

Although the restaurant has potential, it fails to deliver. It is on the 67th floor of the old Sears Tower and the location should mean things will be spectacular. But... although the food quality is good, the restaurant feels cheap and underwhelming. The first item we found was the surprise that the prix fix prices we had been quoted would be supplemented with a 20% surcharge. And it was unclear what the purpose was of this addition. There were very few diners at 7:30 on a Friday night, so it seems other customers had already gotten the word!

Very chill place

By Tricia L |

I purchased a deal through Travelzoo - Dinner for two, for 2 apps, 2 entree's, 2 desserts. It normally is only for "Club Members" but were offering this deal. Food was excellent , I had the filet mignon. Melted in my mouth. The ambiance is very nice. It was not crowded at all and we really enjoyed how relaxing and chill the ambiance was. The service was ok, for as slow as it was, I feel we could have been given better service however, it was still about an 8 on a scale of 1-10. You could tell who were the "members" because they got the REALLY good service. But all and all we really enjoyed our night. The security to get into the building made us feel very safe and the view was very good. They had tables that were directly next to the window which we didn't get but it was still a very nice table. We still had to pay a service charge and extra for our drinks, wine, and side dishes but again, it really was worth it.

just business

Had a set (prix fixe) lunch there on business. It was ok but the Chicken came with a brown sauce and did not work for me at all.

Great way to see the Tower.

By Wayneman00 |

In Brief, we had a wonderful experience, with a friendly staff, delicious meals, and quick and private access to the observation deck. My wife and I were making a dinner plan for our kidless night in Chicago, when we came across a deal for the Metropolitan Club that included a 3 course dinner for two, and a trip to the Observation Deck of the Willis (Sears) Tower for a reasonable fixed price, so we bought it. We arrived a the building about 15 minutes early and unsure of where to enter, so we went to where the crowds were. As it turned out, this was the entrance to the observation deck only, and there was over an hour wait. Phew, we did not have to wait in that line. We found the main entrance, and the security guard checked our voucher, and let us into a private elevator area, where we were escorted to the 67th floor, and the entrance to the club. The Lobby was very nice, and the hostess had remembered me from my reservation phone call. She asked if we wanted to see the observation deck before or after dinner. As it was close to sunset, we opted for before. She called a waiter, who set up our table, and let us leave our things, and then they called another attendant who took us to a private elevator to the Observation deck. We felt like VIPs given the line downstairs, and the amount of people in the Deck. We took 10 minutes or so to admire the views, and saw the sunset from 100 stories up (Beautiful), and then found the attendant and returned to dinner. Our waiter was very friendly, and we talked a bit about children, and our kids missing out on the evening. He later brought us some chocolate souvenirs to bring home to the boys. Service was fantastic all around, we ordered a bottle of wine and a pair of meals including Scallops and Carpaccio for our appetizers, and Main Courses of Lamb and Filet Mignon. (My wife and I often pick meals we both like, and share). The Scallops were AMAZING, and the Carpaccio was excellent as well. As to the dinners, we have eaten at fancier and more expensive restaurants before, and sometimes, it is just more expensive, but not noticeably better food. This food was fantastic. The Lamb and Steak were both succulent and flavored in delicious savory sauces. The sides were equally tasty. Finally we ordered our deserts. In this, they were somewhat pedestrian. They were not bad, but did not stand out in any way. Overall, this was a fabulous experience that we would repeat again on return to the Windy City.

Great views!

I was here for a business meeting at this restaurant at the Willis Tower. The place is on the 67th floor I believe and offers great views of the city even though you're not at the top of the Willis Tower. We had a preset menu and the food was really good.

Amazing View That Complements Fine Dining

By clsm929 |

My wife and I dined here with another couple also visiting Chicago. The view of this beautiful downtown from the 67th floor of the Willis Tower was stunning. We were treated with a colorful sunset as we ate. The menu has a selection that would satisfy anyone. Being ClubCorp members, our entire meal was covered by our membership. The staff of this well appointed club was helpful in every regard and just plain nice. There was never a time when these professional servers did not anticipate our needs, including making helpful suggestions. Our meal was truly excellent, from appetizers to entrees and fresh desserts. I enjoyed a tasty and tender Porcini Crusted Filet and my wife a Whisky Peppercorn Ribeye. Fine salads and crab cakes were appetizers and the hot/fresh lava cake was freshly made. The experience of kind service, fine food and amazing views is second to none. I look forward to returning in the future.

Magnificent view, impeccable service!

This may be the best restaurant view in the city! Creative, delicious food and experienced professional service. Perfect for business luncheon meetings.

Rude, Rude, Rude

By Keri B |

Dinner at the Metropolitan Club was supposed to be a highlight of the trip, instead it was the low point. We arrived at the Willis Tower on time…and early as I had read about the security. That went fine. We got to the restaurant and were greeted with a snarl…. my BF had on linen shorts and a collared shirt…guess they do not allow shorts…(nowhere did it say that…and I would have certainly caught that) The guy was so mean to us. But then he goes…I can put you in the lounge since no one is in there…if you want. He shows us the table and I said OK. As we sit down…he goes…”OH BTW the kitchen closes at 9…..it was 8:35pm (why did you accept our 8:30 reservations then???) Then the waitress came over…and was neither friendly nor helpful. NO conversation…how are you…etc. Can I start you off with a drink??? NOTHING. We should have left…but did not. So we get the menu and place our order. STILL does not ask about drinks. When she came over to fill the table water I had to ask if I could order some wine. Appetizers came…we had the beat salad and the soup. They were ok. The plates are cleared and the new silverware is then tossed at us for our entrée. I mean toss in a heap on the table. Dinner comes….I had the filet…it was STONE COLD…and the potatoes I am sure were from the bfast service…they were hard and cold….like old potatoes. Inedible! So when someone FINALLY came to check on us…I let them know how disappointed I was with the meal. The manager did finally come over and apologize for the meal and they did not charge for the meals…but only appetizer and wine…and OH and 20% service charge. YA....$122 total. We walked out hungry and I was angry. I had never been treated so poorly.

Fabulous View

By D W |

The view of the city is absolutely fabulous! The food was ok. The salmon was a bit dry. I requested asparagus and they gave me something else. Of course they offered to correct the matter but it was a lunch meeting and time was limited. Portion size was perfect. Staff very friendly and focused on service.

Great venue for reception

By Peter H |

The club worked with us to stay in budget for a professional association social reception. Reviews were a rave all night, even with dense cloud obscuring the view. While security seemed daunting, staff worked with us to make the guests welcome. Needed to know in advance that entry on a rainy Sunday night is from Franklin not Wacker. Food was tasty, varied, met many tastes and more than adequate portions. Bar service was speedy and polished. The event manager served us well without hovering.

Great view + great food

By RicardoandIrina |

The food here was great - the mignon was perfectly cooked, flavorful and tender and the crab and shrimp risotto was delicious. We went here for our anniversary and loved it. Will definitely be coming back. The view didn't hurt things one bit.

Wonderful service and spectacular views

By OKJeaux |

We went to visit the Skydeck first at around 6 pm which is a great time to visit based on the crowdedness. Afterwards my wife and I and our 12 year old daughter celebrated a post-anniversary dinner at the Metropolitan Club. We got to see a beautiful sunset over the horizon and enjoyed excellent service that was personalized and very friendly. The kids meal had great selections including beef medallions which were very good. We had Mahi Mahi and Veal with whipped potatoes on the side. Food was pretty good but it was the views and service that made the night so memorable for us. Thank you to the kind staff who made us feel like VIP's.

well worth the experence

I had the Mustered crusted Lamb chops with risotto and asparagus. Cooked to perfections and excellent portion size it was just right. The view was out of the world, and made the evening even better.

Great views/Great food

When in Chicago this is a must. The views are outstanding and so is the food. A little pricey but using a Groupon coupon makes it an outstanding value.

What an awesome view and a nice dining treat!

By Gary D |

We treat ourselves to a really nice dinner here each time they offer a Travel Zoo deal. After you pay for drinks and the mandatory service charge it's not that great of a Deal, however it's well worth the price. The food is great, they have a great wine list, although their by the glass selections are somewhat limited. The sommelier knows his stuff, even with beer as that's the way I went this time. My lady had a nice glass of Malbec that she enjoyed. The service is fantastic. I'd probably give this a 4.5 star. Even though the entrées were excellent, I had lamb chops, she had tuna tartar, the veggies were overcooked. We ordered a side of roasted mixed veggies and we both like our veggies fairly crisp and these were soggy. Otherwise the rest of the food was excellent. The only other negative was the waitress pointing out that the 20% service charge covered all the staff there and if we would like to add anything in addition it would be appreciated. I thought this was a little low shelf for an establishment of this type. Typically I'll give 20% anyway for good service but don't try to work me for even more, if the service was that great I'd give more on my own accord. As I said we've gone here many times and will go again when the opportunity presents itself... and oh did I mention the view? Awesome!

Must eat and go to observation deck

By Quantummottle |

The service and food was very good. The setting is pleasing. It was wonderful to get a vip guest ticket to go to the observation deck. All entry and exit lines were therefore skipped!! If you are a visitor to Chicago this is a must stop

Worthwhile experience.

By Jonathan D |

We went the Travelzoo route, also including the skywalk. Food was good, excellent service.Security getting into the Willits a little daunting but not as bad as an airport and the people were friendly. Our food was cooked the way we asked.

Great food. Good service. Wonderful view.

By Jill3399 |

We used a Groupon deal and had a wonderful evening. The restaurant is beautiful with great views and excellent service. The portions were of a good size and the wine list was large.

Travelzoo coupon was well worth it!

By Stephanie S |

I purchased 2 Travelzoo coupons with entrance to the Skydeck so that our little family of 3 adults and 1 child could enjoy the special opportunity of eating in this private restaurant. You feel like a VIP all night long! Here are my suggestions to anyone using a Travelzoo coupon: 1. Schedule a 5:45 or 6pm dinner reservation, leaving you plenty of time to finish your meal and get to the Skydeck in time for the sunset. 2. The Metropolitan Club validates your parking ticket so that you only have to pay $15 to park, so long as you park in the correct garage. Call ahead to ask where to park. 3. Arrive at least 1 hour before your reservation so that you can visit the gift shop on the lower level. Go thru the Skydeck entrance, show your Travelzoo vouchers, take the elavator down, and cut straight around the line of people waiting to buy tickets to get to the gift shop area and the bathrooms. Beware - there are two different gift shops. One is small, and the other is much larger. Head for the bigger one. 4. There are TWO separate professional photo ops. The first one is right before you get in the ticket line, and the second one is up on the Skydeck on The Ledge. Wait to buy your two photos together, as you will pay around $24 for one photo, but just $36 for both. 5. Don't be afraid to bring children. My eight year old loved the etch-a-sketch menu that they gave him, and his meal of a Shirley Temple, cheeseburger, and huge ice cream sundae cost $11.00 6. We have three adults and four dinner coupons, since I wasn't sure if I needed one for my 8-year old. The restaurant was exceedingly gracious and allowed us to use the extra coupon to order an entire three-course meal as a table sampler. This worked out really well - we ordered four appetizers, four dinners, and four desserts for three adults and got to taste a bunch of different meals. 7. The VIP escalator to the Skydeck is nice - you feel like a rockstar! Try to get up there 10-15 minutes before sunset, so that you experience the city in daylight, twilight, and night. 8. There are 4 Ledges, one of which is reserved for Professional photo ops. I highly recommend you get in the line for the photo op. It moves very quickly, while all the others are slow and not supervised. You will get a great shot of yourself on The Ledge, but even better you'll be able to take a few quick personal shots while you are there. MUCH less chaotic then waiting in the other lines. 9. When you're ready to leave, Travelzoo voucher people have two options. If you want to buy your photos, you will need to wait in the regular elevator line to go back to the giftshop area to the photo kiosk. If you don't want your photos, than forget the line and tell one of the elevator attendants that you are from the Metropolitan Club. They will summon one of the private elevators for you to descend. 10. Have fun! It is definitely worth the money!

Elegant event venue!

By SDC372 |

We just hosted an event for our employees at The Metropolitan Club and were really pleased! We were in a private room on the 67th floor of the Willis Tower. Our room had floor to ceiling windows on 3 sides, with great views of the lake, and north and south Chicago. We had our own bar, and restrooms, and the event planners at TMC helped us find a fun DJ. The food was delicious, served hot with good sized portions. Everyone had a great time!

Spectacular Atmosphere, Food, and Drinks

By Jiucer |

As a Club Corp member I have dined at several clubs across the country and I have to say this is one of the best I have ever visited. From the moment you walk in you see the bar and the cocktail area. It is really spectacular with the views even while sitting at the bar. We had a few drinks prior to dinner and it was as close as you can come to a private dining experience in a remarkable atmosphere. Then we proceeded to the main dining room. The pictures on the website don't do justice for what it actually looks like in the main dining room. Many of the tables have great views and we did get one of those tables. We had oyster Rockefeller and scallops for apps, beef tenderloin and new York strip for entrees and great desserts. Our waiter wasn't aware of the one drink special they have, I mean he just works there, but they honored the $6 martini special for us as it was a Saturday night. The evening couldn't have been better and the food was just great. I highly this club to anyone who is able to dine and have drinks at the Metropolitan Club.

Windy City Views

By RoBee07 |

The check-in process was a little shaky for our reservation, but after that the server and food was exceptional! Jimmy had spectacular customer service, and was very helpful with menu recommendations. The Halibut and crusted Salmon were delish! The view of the Windy City was also a gem!

Great Restaurant, Great Food and Breath Taking Veiw

By BlueScooterGirl |

It is one of my favorite places now in Chicago. The restaurant is great, the food was amazing, the staff were amazing, the service was exceptional and the ambiance was amazing. The view was amazing too. Highly recommend to go to dinner for any occasion, business, birthday, wedding, anniversary, all sorts of parties, you name it!

Good, not Good Enough

By Tewei |

After spending $150 for two, I decide to write about it. I am neutral about this restaurant. Here is why. Pro: Good View, Good Food. Con: The restaurant is not easy to find. You have to pass security and search signs to find your way in. The reception staff looked lazy when we arrived. Our waiter was pretty good. However, I would say that the service was average given the high price tag. The view is not as good as the 95th Floor at John Hancock. I had lamb chop and tasted my wife's filet mignon. The lamb chop was pretty good but the steak was average. If you just want to enjoy the view, I would recommend to drink at the bar. The price for a beer is reasonable and you can get the same view at night.

What a view

By Roger L |

As a Clun Corp member we get to try many special facilities and this was certainly one of the best that we have tried! From the fabulous view that only got better as nightfall took over to the delicious food. The service started out a little slow but worked well as we went on and we were not in any hurry! Prices were very fair and we will definitely return.

Wonderful views, great food & excellent service!

By Mainemother |

A table by the window wasn't available so they suggested we go to the observation deck & watch the sunset. We did and then had a great table by the window. The food was delicious & well presented. Our waiter went out of his way to make it a memorable evening, even though we were one of last to leave.

business meeting, good views

By burgher123 |

went here for business dinner. they don't really have signs and nobody told me about getting a pass prior to getting on the elevator, they acted like I should have known, so you should know. the dinner was set menu. the service was excellent. the food was good but I would not rave about it. I enjoyed my risotto. the dessert was a spread of small desserts on a plate and was highlight of the meal. I didn't pay, so I can't comment on cost.

Great Atmosphere

By Loren_L_1976 |

A private members only club located in the Willis Tower (Sears Tower). Views are very good from the 67th floor bar and restaurant. Friendly & accommodating staff. Accessible to members of other Club Corp properties.

Don’t go!

By LuboZabov |

We went for a dinner with my girlfriend. The view from our table was great. However, it was a little chilly near the window. We used a travelzoo voucher for $99.00. The total bill feels like a scam. We ended up paying $213.49. The only things other than the food were 3 glasses of wine, which were not included in the voucher. They charged us 20 per glass and explained that the price was higher than listed on the menu, because they poured more wine. No one asked us how full we want our glasses. They add service charge of 20% on the price plus the tax. At the end somehow we needed up having to pay 114.99 in addition to the 99. We are not about the money. $200 for dinner for two in downtown Chicago is not unexpected. However, the way they present it when you buy the voucher and the way they calculate the bill leaves you with the feeling that you have been cheated. On top of all that the food frankly is less than mediocre.

Wonderful treat for tourists not used to tall buildings

By SRQ Writer |

I haven't been on the sixty-seventh floor of anything for probably a decade. Sarasota just doesn't go that high. I was a little concerned about the elevator ride, remembering a queasy, drop-your-stomach-into-your-ankles feeling of the last X-treme elevator ride I took a long time ago. I am happy to report that the Willis Building's lift doesn't feel as if it's moving. You will need to go through a security check. Remember to bring your photo ID. The restaurant also has a dress code. We all enjoyed the meal--steaks all around. You're in Chicago, after all. Our reservations were for 5:00, and only one other table was occupied so early on a Saturday night. Still, we went without a water-glass refill for so long, we had to hail the server. The view is spectacular--a real sweep of the city.

Best Happy Hour View

By Kimberly Gauvain |

We were staying down the street @ The W Chicago- City Center and the concierge recommended The Metropolita, in the iconic Willis Tower. He made reservations for us but then when we got there we found a perfect table in the bar and decided to stay there. We had cocktails and appetizers which were amazing! We had the cutest waitress, Ellie, who was so sweet and professional- great service always adds to experience :) I can't imagine a better view for happy Hour!

Delicious Food in Nice Setting

By CharlieinTexas |

Ate dinner here before heading to the show, so we ate quickly, instead of soaking in the incredible view and overall ambience for the evening. Truly A+ food -- lobster ravioli appetizer had fresh lobster. The mustard crusted lamb chops -- 3 big chops -- were first class. The grilled asparagus was worthy of mention, as was the risotto. My wife's filet was also perfectly prepared, and a good piece of meat. Caramel cheesecake and chocolate cake were both good dessert choices. Excellent waiter, was friendly and very prompt at honoring our requests.

Disappointing

By stefanthiel |

The only memorable moment was the view of Chicago (65th floor). The food was uninspired and mediocre, thus overpriced - you pay for the view. The service was appalling: spilling drinks and food, bumping into guests - rather careless.

Excellent service, food, views and ambience

By Iris C |

We absolutely enjoyed every bite of our three-course meals. Our waiter Victor was very attentative and knowledgeable. He made great recommendations for all of us. The Lobster Ravioli appetizer pleased everyone. My lamb chops were cooked to perfection and simply divine. And the Creme Brûlée with very fresh fruits on top was my favorite! Thank you, Chef Noel! The views from this club are simply stunning. It was worth the "hike" to go through security and then take two elevators to reach the 67th Floor to the club. This was our 2nd visit to the Metropolitan. A return visit is a must!

Metropolian Club with Groupon

By GLORIAR251 |

Got a great deal with Groupon. Restaurant staff treated us no different than any other. Hadappetizers first with a glass of wine. Was given a table by window with a view. Server was awesom. He explained how it worked. Was very nice a d respectful. The food was delicious. He even told us another groupon was coming out and. Would do it again for sure. Walking distance from train. Great place!

A great place for a meeting

By faldoc |

A fantastic view on the 67th floor. The food was very good: I went twice, with filet mignon and salmon the main courses.

Breathtaking

By Susan V |

I purchased two Travelzoo vouchers to dine at this private club on the 67th floor of the Willis Tower. It was a truly fine dining experience with incredible views of the city. The atmosphere, food and service were all impeccable at this once-in-a-lifetime dining experience. Never being able to afford a membership to this exclusive club, it was a wonderful opportunity through Travelzoo to make this evening happen. A extraordinary way to celebrate my son's new job and my daughter in law's promotion

Spectacular views, great menu, but sub -par service

By megoreilly |

Beautiful dining room with spectacular views. Took dad here for his 80th birthday and he was suitably 'wowed'. Ordered very dirty martini. Waitress came back with very dry martini, no garnish. Asked for very dirty martini. Waitress came back again, with very dry martini, no garnish. I asked her if she was familiar with the drink menu, she says 'no' so I write on a napkin what I want, and she says she will give to the bartender. Third time was a charm, dirty martini delivered. Dad orders tall vodka soda. Same waitress comes back to the table and says, may I get you something to drink? Ah, yeah, how about that tall vodka soda we just ordered. Here comes short vodka soda. We had scallops and carpaccio for appetizers. Scallops were excellent but only slight warm. Carparccio was very good. Ordered Beef Short Ribs, Lamb Chops and Crazy Diane for entrees. All food was delivered just luke warm, but because it was a birthday dinner and I didn't want to spoil the experience by sending it back. We all agreed that after only a minute or two our food was basically cold. That being said, the food quality and presentation was excellent. Absolutely delicious entrees, so this must be disappointing for the Chef that the beautiful food he prepares is not delivered promptly. Ordered wine with entrees, and asked Sommelier "How many sommeliers are there in Chicago?" She says, "I don't know. Maybe a dozen. Maybe two dozen. I really don't know" So, not very highly engaged in her profession. Desert for Dad was brought on plate that said Happy Birthday, but they said nothing as it was brought to the table, and I found it charged to the bill, which just lacks class. Value was really very good. $200 w/o tip, so $240 total.

Worth every penny!

By Kate R |

Everything about our experience was perfect. Our waitress, Kristy, was top notch and the food, ambience, views and service were impeccable. I Would absolutely come here again!! A once in a lifetime Chicago experience worth every penny!

AMAZING VIEW!

By Melinda H |

We were here for a rehersal dinner and the experience was amazing. Beautiful view, amazing service, excellent desserts.

Beautiful place with top notch service in the Willis tower (Sears tower)!

By Dan P |

Having membership has its plusses This place is fantastic to dine and relax at. Soula and I enjoyed the best grilled calamari salad with a hint of fennel. The Caesar salad was excellent with anchovies atop. Soula's Scallops where superior to our selection in Florida. My rack of lamb was lovely with a marvelous mint pesto. Rudy provided excellent service.

A lovely evening, but private club

By Mike L |

This is a private club located in the Willis (formerly Sears) tower. If you ever get invited, I suggest you accept. It's as much a destination as a restaurant. The views of the city from the 67th floor are breathtaking. We arrived early and enjoyed the jazz duo performing in the bar. Service was excellent and the food and beverage director Mark helped us pick out a nice Sancerre to accompany our fish entrees. For starters, we shared the lobster mac and cheese and the rosemary scallops. Both were excellent. My sesame crusted tuna was fresh and seared perfectly. It was served with a delicious Asian slaw and hoison sauce. The desserts were simply amazing - a crusty creme brulee and a variety of handmade gelato. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent

By KevinLondon |

Excellent venue, we had tickets for Willis Sky Deck and a meal, the great advantage of this is a private elevator to the deck and no lines. We went before dinner stayed for over an hour came down and had our meal. View was excellent on 67th floor, food was very good. This was a bit of luxury on our trip but worth it. There is a dress code, no jeans must wear shoes.

Great food and fantastic views

By crosscountrytraveler |

We were very fortunate to have a clear night to enjoy the wonderful view afforded us from The Metropolitan Club in the Willis Tower. Love the old club feel. The table selection provided views in two directions of the Chicago skyline. The table was a generous size. Maybe this seems like a small detail but I have found it is the small details that make for a memorable dinner. Menu selections proved challenging.....so many wonderful appetizers and entrees to choose from and no one was disappointed! If visiting Chicago this should be on your must do list!!!

Atmosphere very good; Food mediocre

By Manger_bien_11 |

On the 66th-67th floor of the Willis Tower building in downtown chicago, the setting is lovely and the views through the large glass windows are magnificent. However, the food is mediocre and, even with an $89 for two discount coupon, by the time they add the required 20% of the non-discounted total, your talking about +/- $60./person. And that's not including anything to drink. It ain't worth it.

Best of Restaurant Week

By frank m |

Service is outstanding. The chef's free taste of the day was extraordinary. My meal was excellent as well as the three persons with me.

Best for bands

By hogiebear33 |

It's basic music nights aren't bad, although it is dead if you get here early, but it's a really nice venue for gigs, which I think is where it makes its money.

Wonderful view and special place

By Kelly S |

I went with my husband on a cloudy, dreary week day - not the most special time to enjoy an "in the clouds" experience but it still was lovely. There was a pianist playing in the restaurant. A guitar player in the bar, quiet yet lively. The views - even in bad weather were spectacular. The food was fine - not great and expensive. Small portions, beautifully appointed but would not go back for the food. Next time, would go for a drink and the atmosphere.

Fabulous views, delicious food, excellent service, romantic atmosphere.Gluten free menu options.

By Alicia H |

If you're looking for a fine restaurant that has amazing views, choose the Metropolitan Club. Located atop the Willis Tower, the restaurant has amazing views of Chicago. The menu features a good selection of appetizers, entrees, side dishes and desserts. Many gluten free options, and the chef will customize items for guests who have other allergies. Wine is available by the glass or bottle, with many good choices. The bar also offers delicious cocktails. Great restaurant for a romantic meal or special occasion.

Awesome view and great food.

By Lance L |

You got an awesome view if you sit next tot he window. The food is delicious. The only thing that bother me is the light is too dark and hard to read from the menu. Have flash light from your cell ready.

Great view, excellent service and solid meal selections!

By Aimee B |

Our server Victor was truly great on this visit. My husband & I were visiting Chicago and I found the TripAdvisor deal for this restaurant. This was a great deal and was a special occasion, my birthday. Right off the bat, Victor asked us where we were from and if this was a special occasion. We had great interactions with him throughout the meal. I got the mustard crusted lamb chops with a mint brown gravy and my husband got the veal saltimbocca. Both were fantastic! For our dessert, he made the night very special for my birthday by adding a candle and special birthday message!

The view and the meal - perfect!

By Karen U |

I am not sure if you have to be a "member" to eat here, they seem to have a lot of non-member ways to go. We used a voucher from Travelzoo. While the voucher helped with the price, it is still a splurge. We went for our anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The view was perfect over the city. The food is truly some of the best we have had in Chicago. I started with the scallops and my husband the Oysters Rockefeller. Both were excellent. I had lamb ribs for my main - oh so good. I finished with a berry crumble that seemed to have more crumble than berry. I grow a lot of my own berries so I am pretty picky. I think many would find it very good. Our only disappoint was the wine. We wanted a full bodied Zinfandel to compliment our lamb and filet choices. The bottle we wanted was unavailable and we steered towards a different Zin that was to be the same. We even discussed the choice with the sommelier. While the Zin we choose was a good choice it was definitely not full-bodied. It was a lower alcohol content and had no legs on the glass. We questioned if the sommelier had actually tasted both to know the differences? Our waiter was wonderful and we left truly appreciating his service. The reservation process is a bit difficult, but well worth the effort. Enjoy!

Splurge dinner at the start of family vacation to Chicago 08/06/22

By raybyerley |

My wife, daughter, son, and I decided to splurge on our first night of family vacation and came to this 67th floor fabulous restaurant. View out the window from our table, view inside the dinning room, and one looking up at the Willis tower from the lake are attached. For the four of us we shared: - grilled octopus appetizer, tender & excellent; - lobster bisque, delicious; - panzanella salad, also delicious; - sea bass entree, fantastic; - tagliatelle, very good; - cauliflower steak, surprisingly delicious; - side of asparagus & broccolini grilled vegetables, very good; - seared scallops, excellent; - bottle of Galil merlot, wine from Galilee, Israel; Pictures of the above are attached. For dessert we shared: - metro brownie sundae, very tasty; - chocolate mouse cake, decadent; - zucchini cake. This review would only let me add 10 pictures, so I will try to add the dessert pictured after I submit this. Mitch did a great job helping us. This was a very expensive dinner even with our 25% club corp discount, but worth it.

Great views, average food - but on Valentine's Day should you expect more?

By BruceG01 |

We found ourselves in Chicago on short notice over Valentine's day weekend. Restaurant reservations were limited, and I'm not a big fan of eating out on holidays, but there you go. As mentioned, this restaurant is in the Willis Tower. The Wacker St. entrance was closed, but our taxi driver figured this out and took us to the Franklin Ave entrance. Upon entering the building you are confronted by a non-smiling security desk asking where we are going and required to present an ID card. After getting a pass, we wandered over to the security area with x-ray machine and metal detector. Nice start for a romantic dinner! The elevator stops at the 66th floor, and we finally figured out we needed to take the escalator to the 67th, where the restaurant was located. Would have been nice to list that in the Open Table page. We were met with a smile by the coat check girl - the friendliest face of the whole evening. We waited over 5 minutes after being seated before anyone acknowledged we were there. Our server looked tired and did not know details on the prix fixe menu - the only choice was the main course, 3 options, so how hard could it be? The rest of the wait staff looked similarly tired or unhappy, but the food arrived promptly. Four courses - fried oyster amuse bouche -soggy but with tasty sauce, salad with fried sweetbreads - looked like generic fried pieces of something but tasty greens and cheese, main course - the boneless short ribs were delicious, salmon good, but the pickled green beans were spicy and awesome, and a shared dessert - fried dough and a sugar cookie. $89 each. Granted the views were spectacular and the green beans unique. A yellow rose was given to each female diner upon arrival - another nice touch. But the rest was below average. Other reviews are better and maybe everyone was just sour on Valentine's Day. The coat check girl was still smiling on our way out as she returned our coats - so maybe there is hope. Lots of great restaurants in the Windy City - don't think I'll come back to this one.

Sky High Dining Perfection!

By CharlieinTexas |

Visited the Metropolitan Club while on a four-day trip to Chicago. Truly a luxury dining experience, with a wonderful view of the city, out to the water. Diane, at the front desk, was delightful. Enrique, our server, was genuinely friendly, efficient, and among the best servers we’ve had the good fortune to experience among many fine dining restaurants. Food was superb. Great kale citrus salad and cauliflower tacos. Perfectly cooked steaks. Goat cheese cheesecake was among the best desserts I can remember having. Really. Tasty lattes too. Really friendly and welcoming general manager also. Just go …

Fine Dining with a View!

By MCB28 |

My husband and I had dinner there our first night in Chicago. We had just visited the observation deck at the Willis tower and decided to eat here. We had a beautiful table by the view with mesmerizing views. The food was phenomenal. We had the signature rosemary scallops. I had the halibut and my husband had the filet mignon. We shared a creme brûlée. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. We shared bottle of wine. The service was impeccable.

Terrible service-good food

By Footprints812255 |

Food was very good but our server was exceptionally rude. Made our group feel unwelcome and that we didn’t belong there. Two doctors and two financial professionals-all because two of our party wanted to order beer, which was detailed on the menu mind you. Also, the menu included sandwiches, which one of our group was excited about because his stomach can not handle a lot of different foods. Our server made him feel embarrassed because he ordered a sandwich. If you don’t want people to order certain items then don’t offer it on your menu. Very insulting to our party particularly since there were only two other tables occupied in the whole place. Never again!

Great Experience and wonderful staff

By JT49 |

I have to give this a 5-star. Why? We had a large group reservation for a BIG birthday celebration (mine :), including 5 children on a Saturday night. They also accommodated our request for a separate, private photo shoot beforehand (even before the restaurant was open for dinner). The wait staff was very good. We ordered a few appetizers and various dinners, including vegetarian. Basically, they'll fix almost anything for the kids which was helpful! I ordered a Duchess cut filet and the chef cooked it to perfection. This rarely happens since I'm a 'half way between medium and rare, so a 'rare plus?' kinda gal. The chef did not disappoint! All in all it was a birthday celebration I won't forget for a long time, and our photo shoot and dinner at the Met helped make that happen. Thanks for the experience!

Visiting Chicago

By Casino/golfer |

What a beautiful place to eat and see the views of Chicago. Our food was excellent. Our service was excellent. Being members of Club Corp allowed us to eat and enjoy a great evening. Will be back.

Not worth a visit

By Mervi212 |

Had a business dinner there in September 2014. The view is definitely to do for, food was ok, but service was absolutely rude!

Great View

By LizaB00 |

The decor, service and views were great. I enjoyed my asparagus the most of what I ordered. Just know that non-members pay an extra 20% of the total bill.

An evening to remember!

By Loving L |

A romantic date with the husband. The atmosphere was sophisticated yet not dark. The food was excellent, service was prompt and very helpful. The view as the sun set was breathing. We had time to enjoy appetizers, drinks, a great meal and dessert all as the city transformed right before our eyes.

Gorgeous view with food that is just fine

By smotley |

The view is the reason to come here and it is truly astonishing. The food is fine - not outstanding or especially creative but enjoyable nonetheless. Extensive wine list though they were out of our first choices of both the red and the white. The service was friendly and unpretentious. It was not crowded on a Friday night and we enjoyed the peace and quiet after a long day of work.

Highly Recommend

By Pearlywhirler |

We loved everything about this place. My husband and I met a customer and his wife for dinner, but it is also a good place for a romantic dinner for 2. The view is outstanding, the service was impeccable and the food delicious. We will definitely go back when we return to Chicago.

FANTASTIC!

By 27CLP |

I was there for a group event and our meal was a buffet. I was not thrilled to have to go through a line for my food but I would have gone back 10 times if my stomach would have allowed for it. Everything was fantastic & we had a very large selection. There was something for everyone!
