We came across this place just looking around downtown Houston. We were pleasantly surprised once we got inside and checked out the menu. It had some great choices and it just happened we got there when they were offering a special Brunch menu. food was very good.

I ate here recently in a group of four on a Sunday night. The place was busy but not too bad, we were able to get a table right away. They have a decent menu with a lot of good stuff on it. I had the BBQ brisket grilled cheese with fries, and I loved every bite. The fries are thin cut, almost like shoestring potatoes. And the sandwich was the right amount of cheese and meat and crunch from the bread. The waiter was friendly and everything came out as expected. All in all it was pretty good.

Stopped in here one night after we decided our first choice wasn’t what we thought it was. The Moonshiners was a great find for us. We had the tacos and burger, both were very tasty. Prices were reasonable and they had a good selection of what appeared to be local beers. The staff was very attentive, pleasant, and helpful. Definitely had a cool vibe and the music that was on was spot on, during our visit I heard The Smiths at least twice. A refreshing surprise from everywhere playing modern top 40 stuff. Only thing to watch for is it can be a bit tight in there and watch the table bases. They are made of metal that is slightly raised and sharp 90 degree corners, I kicked the hell out it and thought I broke a toe.

I enjoyed my time at Moonshiners, the service was good from the staff, however, they were out of many of the drinks and food that were on the menu at the time. Its in a convenient location and has a nice atmosphere but hopefully when I go back they are restocked.

We stopped by after a football game on the way back to the hotel. The food was great, but the place was slammed due to the Astro's game was going to start in a couple of hours. I ended up having the brisket tacos and they were great, I think the wife had the cobb salad, which was plentiful and very good. If you're looking for good food I'd say this should be on your list.

Loved the brunch cocktails! Visited on a Saturday around 2pm and it was still considered brunch. Didn’t get to try any food, but it all sounded delicious.

Loved the nachos, had them twice! We ended up eating here several times as it was close to our hotel and we loved the food. The fried chicken sandwich was also amazing. Brunch was good, but not our favorite meal. The atmosphere is fun and is in a great spot to people watch if that is your thing. Service was always good and our waiters were always very friendly. Lastly, the drinks were well made and fairly priced. I highly recommend Moonshiners for lunch or dinner (get the nachos, but split them because they are huge!).

Great southern fare served with a welcoming smile. Shrimp n grits and southern fried okra are simply to die for. Not to be missed if you’re visiting Houston.

Stopped in to have some lunch, avacado blt was amazing. I got brisket grilled cheese great food. Good service cold beer. Close to the monorail system

Visited during a business trip...easy place for dinner. Menu is pretty brief (one page) and selection narrow but OK.

Made a pair of visits here on my recent trip to Houston. A local friend of mine took me here for some great Happy Hour brisket sliders and cocktails. The space is chill and service is sharp. I then came back with a couple of friends for dinner and repeated the enjoyable experience. Chicken and waffles were good without being great (same with friends' food) and drinks were good of course. Solid, above-average food overall in a great environ with very good service!

Good selection of food and different beers. We were told there was a wait for food but was served pretty quickly. Food tasted great but the service could have been a lot better. No one asked if we required more drinks or how the food was. They missed out on business there. We had to ask several times for the check before we finally got it. There are plenty of other places to go to, so will give this a miss for a while

We came here as part of a local food tour. We had a biscuit smothered in country gravy and served with filet mignon tips and breakfast potatoes. Although a "sample", it was enough for a meal. The biscuit was perfect baked, the gravy and steak tips delicious, and the breakfast potatoes perfectly prepared. This is a great spot for weekend brunch with very reasonable prices.

Here on a business trip. We had drinks and food here. The portion size was plentiful. They paid attention to all of our needs. The food was really good. The service was great.

First time in Houston...glad we picked Moonshiners.....the food was fantastic!! We had the "Apple Pie Moonshine Cocktail" and it was the best apple cocktail I have ever had!!! We ordered country fried steak and the brisket grilled cheese! Excellent! 10 out of 10 :)

Have you ever been to a restaurant where they bring out the food for one of you and the other person has to wait for the food. Awkward isn't it? But what if they've forgotten to put through the order for the other person’s food. Even more awkward right? But what if they’ve also now run out of the thing you both ordered, so there was only one in the first place. Super awkward now isn’t it? You have your meal, the other person has nothing and hasn’t ordered anything yet. You have to return your meal because you don’t want to eat while the other person can’t. No solutions offered, they just closed out the bill and charged full price for our two glasses of wine. Service is a mess and needs to be looked at urgently. Avoid.

Came here on a Sunday night. In a great location in old downtown Houston this place is very popular with the locals and the staff are very friendly and approachable. Great selection of beers and the food menu has some great options. Went for the nacho brisket appetiser to start thinking that we would go back to the menu to order mains a little bit later. Glad we didn’t because the appetiser portion was huge and very tasty so was more than sufficient. Will definitely return to this bar at some point. Price wise very reasonable as well. Very much recommend.

Stopped in here last night, sat at the bar and was prompted served Blueberry Moonshine.. Yum!! This is one of the few busy looking places on Main St in Houston. Food was great, had the Fried Chicken sandwich and Okra. First time having Okra, wasn't bad at all. Service and atmosphere was great.

Had a nice and relaxing dinner here. Fun unique place with a hometown atmosphere. Nice menu variety of sandwiches, burgers, tacos, and especially drinks. Sat in the outside area along street vs. inside and was great. Pork tacos, burgers, and shrimp and grits were terrific. Also had excellent appetizers and side dishes like okra, fried pickles, and many more. Had beer from all over the country including my favorite...Lexington, KY Bourbon Ale! Service was very good and prices were reasonable. Great overall experience!

We stumbled across this place and had a great meal!Nice beer and friendly staff - definitely recommend the chicken burger, it’s so good!

Great service - food was good! We enjoyed the brisket nachos on their homemade kettle chips. My husband had the brisket grilled cheese which was ok. I enjoyed my fettuccine with grilled chicken. Our friends had the sliders and brisket tacos and they loved them both. I also enjoyed my strawberry moonshine drink. We enjoyed the patio on a beautiful Saturday evening.

The food was actually quite good. We had bacon wrapped shrimp for an appetizer - I had the rainbow trout with broccoli and bacon and my husband had the blacked shrimp alfredo. The shrimp were cooked perfectly and the bacon just the way I like it - thick cut and crispy. The trout was very well cooked, tender and juicy. I highly recommend the broccoli and bacon if you enjoy a little heat. My husband enjoyed his alfredo, finishing every bite. I also thoroughly enjoyed my first taste of moonshine with a Porch Sipper. We enjoyed the outdoor seating, it was a very entertaining corner. They are very busy on Saturday night, so the food was a bit slow arriving, but everyone who came by checked on us and made sure our drinks stayed full.

We were walking down the street watching the St Patty day celebrations and came upon Moonshiners it was packed but was able to find a table. The wait staff was very timely in coming to us to order drinks. I got a very cold beer Live Oak Hefeweizen and Mrs Sharlena had the Strawberry Breeze she said it was very yummy. We ordered the Southern Table Quesadillas and man that was outstanding. The flavor was super the brisket was hot and tender. Sorry we didn’t make it back to try more Very much recommended.

The service was okay, but the food was average (lacked seasoning). We had the Nashville Hot Chicken and Waffles and fried catfish. We want order it again.

Stopped in for a late dinner on a Sunday night. Food was really good, husband had the brisket quesadilla and I had the Cobb Salad. Portions were large and brisket very tender. Salad was very good, but served with iceberg lettuce. Beer selection was good, but wine choices were very limited. Although food was good, servers didn’t seem to love their jobs and were not very attentive.

Moonshiners has a laid back southern vibe. It's a fantastic spot for after work happy hour, or meeting friends. The food is consistent and tasty, but nothing fancy. It's a limited menu that's really just overrated bar food. That being said, I've never seen this place without a million patrons, so they must be doing something right, I'm just not entirely sure it's anything more than pouring fancy beer. The unfortunate consistency I've noticed is the laid back vibe extending to the staff. You could die waiting for your check in this place. It is understaffed, or perhaps just lacking clear staff training, that would encourage a rhythm to their service. If you must have a patio, go here, otherwise head straight for the new Local Foods branch down the street. Better food, and you're not at the mercy of a beer snobby waiters internal clock.

Try the Lavender Mule or the Coconut Hibiscus Rita. We didn't stay for food because we were on a pub crawl but there were tempting options.

Based on the reviews I expected more. The food isn’t bad, but it’s not great either. Service was good. We tried the chicken wings as an appetizer and the flavor was very good. Definitely recommend the wings. I had the brisket grilled cheese and the best part of the sandwich was the buttered bread. The brisket lacked flavor and the cheese was not melted. The fries were too soggy but they were seasoned well. They have quite a few on tap local beers. With all the great restaurant options in Houston, I would not come back here. But if you’re looking for a place to hang out and watch some sports and have a couple beers, you might give it a try.

This was easy walking distance from our hotel. It was open late and served a variety of foods. We picked dessert! We got the banana pudding and you better have at least 2 people to share, 3 or 4 would even be better. The presentation of the dessert was over the top (whipped topping standing way above the rim of jar). Made fresh so the wafers are still crunchy. Easy access off of Main Street with a choice of indoor or outdoor seating. Lots of TV’s with a variety of channels selected. Friendly staff and the music was NOT so loud that you couldn’t talk with the people at your table.

It's downtown near the ballpark and trolley. Food was good and reasonable, our hotel was around the corner.

We met friends here for cocktails and appetizers while visiting last month. What a fabulous surprise! A wonderful variety of drink concoctions that were completely amazing...who knew?! It is busy but not in an obnoxious way - the staff was incredible and the drinks ... oh and the food! ... were awesome! Highly recommend!!!

Wait staff not attentive...1.5 hours for lunch is unacceptable. I had the fried chicken burger that had a bun that was about an inch thicker than it needed to be. On first inspection was a huge burger but in reality it was all bread.

Try the Midnight Mule! Made with Texas Moonshine. We also got their sampler: fried green tomatoes, fried pickles and deviled eggs.

Stopped in here for a quick drink and a snack. Bartender was very nice. Good happy hour from 2-6p with drink and food specials. Only had the deviled eggs but they were really good and everything else that came out looked great, especially the sliders. A good number of Texas beers on tap and nice menu. Would love to come back and try more.

Moonshiners is a solid spot for a snack and a beer. Loved the bacon wrapped shrimp. Friendly service, ideally located right on Main.

Nice place for a good meal. Had two chicken dishes. Both tasted great and were good value for money!

The service was a bit haphazard as the place was busy but the food was tasty. The menu is quite basic but what is on offer is done well.

We came across this bar/restaurant looking for somewhere for breakfast before a Houston Astros game. Brunch starts at 10am, we got there around 10.30 to 11.00. It was just the right time as it was quite busy and got more so just after. It's a pick your own table place which on game day was difficult. As it was game day it was busy, unfortunately this reflected in the service, breakfast soon turned into lunch. The food was great we had breakfast tacos and brisket Benedict.

The food is decent but nothing amazing. Its main appeal is outdoor seating. There is a homeless issue in the area and unfortunately the restaurant refused to have a meal purchased for a homeless individual, despite requesting that the meal be to-go. Disappointing.

Exceeded my expectations for lunch-time sandwiches. The brisket grilled cheese sandwich and the signature burger along with side salad and homemade French fries were all very good. Friendly, attentive service. We will definitely return.

we went here when we were in Austin and had some of their wicked Moonshine cocktails and a meal - the shrimp Po Boy was the best ever far exceeded my expections

Went for brunch this morning. Atmosphere is VERY cool. It is a seat yourself place- which we did. It took more than 5 minutes to be greeted by our waiter who never even introduced himself- didn't bring water either. He came back several minutes later to take drink orders. When the drinks came, they were very good. We finally got to put our food order in & then proceeded to wait close to 45 minutes for our food. I had to speak to the manager & he finally checked on our food. The food was good but the whole experience was ruined by the poor service & rude staff.

We were walking around Main st and looking for a place to go eat and stopped by The moonshiners and lokked and the menu and though why not.... good food good price and the banana pudding was awesome

Great selection of southern classics!! Fast service with wonderful drinks. The management team stops by every table to make sure you’re taken care of. Be prepared to pay for parking across the street or take the metro rail. It was steady but not super busy for an early Sunday brunch. It’s worth a visit if you’re downtown or close by midtown. Check it out!!!

Moonshiners has pub-type, Southern food that can be comfortable on a cool day. We had to wait a bit on a table, and the service was a bit slow. The food is tasty and servings are large.

We walked here around 8pm on. Friday evening from our hotel in downtown Houston. We ordered a glass of wine and some moonshine cocktails as well as the southern table brisket nachos. The cocktails were fun as everything was made with moonshine. Their take on nachos was a delicious pile of meat and cheese on chips. The restaurant was packed and we sat at an outside table. The service was a little slow - I wondered if they were short-staffed, but we got our food and drinks eventually and everything was good. I would definitely recommend this pub and would like to go back for brunch sometime.

Had some drinks and ordered the southern hospitality taste board as appetiser to share. It was fine. Ordered mains but the menu choices are limited and tge meals themselves were not impressive. Would suggest that the management review this part of the offering. Service was okay and atmosphere was really good. Of note we used 4 sets of cutlery and not one set had been cleaned properly or polished. Very average for a $100 spend for two people.

I just tried the burger here and it crushes all others. The service is excellent, friendly, and fast. This isn't really a burger restaurant but it's burger is the best. I can't say enough about it. Their shrimp and grits is good also.

Husband here on conference so we did some sight seeing . Stopped here for a cold beer and nachos ( kettle chips ) which were delicious. Service was great and atmosphere of bar is quaint.

Go for the beef sliders if you are looking for some small bites. Comes with 3 of them and it's served with a red cabbage slaw on top. Delicious! I ordered the fried green tomatoes as well and those were quite tasty too. There's more breading on them than I was anticipating, but they are still very good.

By far not the typical bar fare. Steak and shrooms was grilled tenderloins with fried mushrooms. Grilled cheese with pulled pork, and a burger that you have to be hungry to eat all of. Other items on the menu I want to try

We visited this restaurant late on a Friday night around 11. Our waitress was very nice and helpful even though the place was busy. We had beer and loved that they had blonde bombshell. We also had the appetizer sampler platter and brisket nachos both were very delicious. We also had the chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger fries were super yummy and the chicken sandwich was better than the Burger. Good prices lots of TV's big enough for a larger group as well as patio space.

I hesitate to call this a bar and grill because they get the food element so much more than your typical bar. I ordered the shrimp and grits. Being from South Carolina where we are serious about shrimp and grits I was a little skeptical. The waitress (Julia) assured me that they were really good. I believe she undersold them because they were excellent. They definitely have a Texas flair to them - they had mushrooms, green onions and bacon with them. Somewhat on the spicy side but not fiery. I ordered apple cobbler for dessert and that was also really good. I would definitely come back here again and would recommend to anyone that wants a good meal in a sports bar type setting.

My friend and I had just arrived in Houston and were driving around when we saw this restaurant. As we walked closer to the restaurant I could see another patron’s cocktail. I checked the menu and we decided to dine there also to order the same cocktail. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the cool breeze. We ordered the Moonshine Mojito and the Strawberry Moon. The Moonshine Mojito was very flavorful with a great blend of juices and liquor. The Strawberry Moon was not as good. The bacon-wrapped shrimp was average and the bacon was overcooked or had sat for a while. The atmosphere, patio, and Moonshine Mojito gives this restaurant the rating received.

The food here was really good, and our server, Caroline, was excellent. I love when you ask a server what is good on the menu and they actually give you real suggestions. We went with her BLT plus egg recommendation, as well as the chicken and waffles, and the brisket grilled cheese. All of those were excellent. The drink selection was also great. The only meal that was just ok was the half chicken. It was a bit dry. The food was timed perfectly (we started with brisket nachos and bacon wrapped shrimp), and the drinks always stayed full. Would definitely recommend trying this place out!

Good place to start the night off with some beef brisket tacos or loaded nachos. Both of these dishes are seriously good quality and good value. Service and drinks were also excellent.

We have traveled to Houston many times and always try somewhere we haven't been. This time we wanted to sit outside and enjoy the warm weather. We found this restaurant by accident. We intended to go across the street but the construction noise was too loud. Great staff, creative cocktails, and a twist on southern food!

I think their food is average. I asked the waiter for a recommendation of the best thing they make. He said to have the brisket grilled cheese, so I did. Others in our party had various tacos. I thought the food was pretty good, but nothing fantastic. They did have very good french fries. I think their cocktails are overpriced. Stick with some tea or something and get a cocktail somewhere else.

food was good, not excellent. got brisket tacos and they were a tad bit dry and a fried chicken sandwich was good, not the best service i've had but nothing to shame.

We enjoyed the food here so that we ate 2 nights in a row while staying in Houston at the Sam Houston Hotel. All kinds of people eat at Moonshiners. The service was great both nights and the food was very tasty.

We were walking out and about for the weekend and wanted a place to relax outside and observe the sites. We stopped in and had the nachos and tried a house drink. Great location and drinks and good food.

Had a business meeting after work here with a group of 8 of us. Our server was pretty slow, seemed more interested in flirting with the bartender and we were often left with empty drinks. It is very clean, and the food is above average for the area. The beer selection comprises of some great local selections, and there is ample indoor and outdoor seating. I wouldn't recommend this for a date night, there are better in the area. For a small groups there are good food options and prices are very reasonable.

Ok, this place isn't really a shack at all - I just felt like describing it that way because the place has an eclectic vibe to it. Very much a come-as-you-are place. The Brisket Tacos are a definite must.

This place is a must visit if you like southern comfort food and moonshine. We enjoyed only drinks, having come from dinner elsewhere, but the drinks were fantastic! We sat outside and were a part of all the excitement that is a Friday night in Houston. Lots to look at! I'd definitely return for drinks and for food!

strong moonshine cocktails, good atmosphere. friendly staff and in a good location downtown houston. didnt try the food but looked basic but tasty.

This was one of the best old fashion cocktails I've had. They make it with lavender moonshine, and is definitely worth trying. They occasionally have happy hour pricing on their cocktails for only 5 bucks!

We were in town for a wedding, stayed at the Icon Hotel. Moonshiners was close open and looked good. It was awesome, the special was catfish, it was the best I have ever had awesome. My husband had the BLT wow, drinks were awesome as well, excellent service.

We have been to Houston annually five times and always call in here for a meal and a few drinks after work. Very convenient to downtown hotels. The manager Andy is very welcoming and runs a great team who are always friendly and deliver excellent service. A great place to unwind and if you are a sports fan lots to see on game days and chance to mix with the locals supporting their team. The food is always great with many tasty offerings on the menu. Lots of local beers available but I recommend Lawnmower if you enjoy a beer that is not too malty.

Walked there earlier today to enjoy one of what is probably the last few cool days in Houston this year. Sat at a small corner table and ordered a Brisket Grilled Cheese sandwich. It comes on a Texas toast and you can have it with fries, chips or a salad. The friendly waitress Keke told me the salad comes in a Mason Jar and I had to try salad served that way once in my life so I did. The dressing was good (slightly sweet vinaigrette). The sandwich melts in your mouth and it seems to have two or more types of cheese. The salad was above average with fresh ingredients. Overall, satisfied and will come back again when the weather is decent to sit outside. The atmosphere seemed fun although I was there too early to experience what it would be like when it gets full. I say, go and try this place. They need to reconsider their Taco prices. $12.50 for three tacos is a LOT in Houston. Especially at lunch time.

I loved the dinner (the Signature Burger) so much that I came back for the brunch. The Brisket Benedict was a perfect Texan spin on a brunch-staple. The staff was attentive and food outstanding!

Visited Houston for 2 weeks in late July. Enjoyed Moonshiners so much the first time that we ate there a couple more times. Service was very good and meals were delicious. Great Southern Hospitality - just as it says in lights on the restaurant wall.

I recently visited this restaurant on 12/10/24 as it was conveniently close to my hotel. Unfortunately, my experience didn’t live up to its 4.2 rating. I ordered the blackened redfish, which was disappointing. The fish was overcooked, and I found it lacking in flavor. The accompanying rice and asparagus were bland and unseasoned. My coworker had the brisket grilled cheese, but her meal was ruined when we found a long hair in it, which understandably made it inedible. The service was fine, and the staff seemed busy since the place was packed. However, the overall atmosphere left much to be desired. There was a homeless person sleeping on the patio, and the entrance had a strong smell of urine, which was off-putting. While I didn’t try any drinks, the food and the environment made this visit a disappointing one. I’m not sure how this place maintains such a high rating, but based on my experience, I wouldn’t recommend it.

We wanted a place to eat in downtown Houston before heading to the Hobby Center for a play. We decided to try The Moonshiners. Good Happy Hour specials and food. The service was very good. We tried some sliders and fried green tomatoes. The sliders were very good - the fried green tomatoes were OK.

Stopped for fried okra and mac & cheese and giant vats of iced tea. Everything was delicious - try the cobbler!

We actually went there three times during a four day Houston visit. It was right around the block from our hotels (The Magnolia and Hyatt Place Downtown). Serving staff was great. The brisket grilled cheese is worth breaking your diet for! Three of us had it and all agreed. My husband had shrimp tacos and I had chicken quesadilla on the second visit. Both delicious. They have local beers that were fantastic - especially Fancy Lawnmower by Saint Arnold brewing and Bombshell Blonde by Southern Star brewing.

First introduction to the Southern kitchen. Didn't disappoint. Service was smooth and friendly. We had a Country Fried Stake with mashed potatoes and gravy. On top of that a cheese sauce. Definitely didn't taste bad. My wife went for the Texas Redfish. According to her, it is very tasty and certainly not to be despised. French fries as a side dish. For the Dutch: mayonnaise is also available :) All in all a good meal for a good price.

Went for some snacks after the game. Walked here from Minute Maid Park, passing through a couple city blocks of stinky tent villages camped on the sidewalks. The restaurant was also a little tired smelling. We were quickly greeted, and the service was good. We were informed that they didn't have half the appetizers on the menu. We ordered the quesadillas. The meat tasted like it had sat on the steam table too long, and was freshened up with some thick sweet bbq sauce. Staff were bringing in spices and supplies through the front door, followed by big hot blasts of air from the hot July Houston city streets.

First off, we just stumbled upon this place and decided to check it out. Secondly we started off with some drinks and I stumbled upon this amazing cocktail which I don't remember the name (but at least I took a picture of it) but was soooo good. Thirdly the food was delicious, I had BBQ chicken with mac and cheese and didn't regret a single bite of it. The place was cool and comfy, the staff were friendly and great. You can sit inside or outside. They have high chairs or lower chairs. The menu isn't extensive but with the different variations, literally there's something for everyone. All in all great place for drinks, lunch and chillin'

My best friend and I went here twice in a two day period. We ate here both Friday and Saturday night. The first night I ordered the bacon burger and it was cooked exactly the way I like it. Absolutely delicious! The coconut infused, hibiscus shine a Rita, WOW! First of all the drink was extremely tasty. Just enough sweetness to make it very enjoyable, but do not let that fool you! This drink really packs a punch. Very suttle first, then BAM! So we continued to have three of those and let me tell you it was a great night. The staff was very timely and efficient and extremely friendly. One of the better drinks tha I have had. The next night I had the blackened shrimp with fettuccini. Absolutely point on, very delicious.

Really kind of disappointed. The place was highly recommended by hotel staff and it was fairly crowded for a Wednesday night. My son and I were tired from driving 9 hours and this hotel was only 2 blocks from the hotel. The seat yourself option works against you as no one may notice you for 15-20 minutes. I find that odd considering I'm 6'9" and stand out from the crowd, but nonetheless we sat for a while before someone even came by. Since we were so thirsty we initially ordered water and quickly emptied our glasses and waited for a while for refills as well. Since we were probably tabbed as not drinking that night we became 2nd class patrons. Tables that came in after us received much more attention (faster refills, ordered before us, paid out before us, etc). The food was fine. I had the quesadilla with pulled pork and the meat was very dry and tortilla was not constructed in a way to hold the bbq element of the dish. My son had the burger and was not impressed stating that it lacked seasoning and was over done on the outside and underdone in the middle. The chips he had tasted like garlic powder. Then it took 23 minutes to get the check and another 10 for it to be returned to us. I timed those instances. Might be ok if you want to watch the world go by and have nothing else to do, but for tired travelers, not a good place.

Claimed they called back to say they couldn’t accommodate us. They didn’t. We showed up with our group and they turned us away and acted like it was our fault.

We have been here a few times, and came here a few months ago. We had brunch - food was great and mimosas delicious of course. Prices were reasonable for downtown brunch. Servers are friendly. I’m happy that they have drinks other than moonshine. I prefer cocktails and they are always good.

Had lunch/brunch here one Saturday. Not very busy when we first arrived, but did pick up. Inside seating is limited, more outside. Outside is covered. Service was very good but the brunch menu is limited as is the lunch menu. My husband chose the chicken fried steak as he wanted some eggs, but you can not order a side of eggs. He thought the food was good, but would have liked to be able to substitute the potatoes with something else, as he is not a big fried potato eater. I chose the strawberry field salad. It was very fresh and a good size for lunch. We also ordered side of biscuits, and we both were disappointed. They are not very fluffy, and dry. Some fast food restaurants have better biscuits. We did not try any of their beers or cocktails , but their choices sounded good.

Menu said fries were amazing. Didn't find them to be anything out of the ordinary. We're lukewarm also.

Cute bar and restaurant that we went to when we were walking in downtown Houston. Staff was very attentive. We only ordered drinks so I can't comment on the food.

Stopped in here before the Astros game. Nice atmosphere and great staff. Ordered the brisket nachos and they were excellent. Everything tasted very fresh. My wife got the blt and said the fried green tomato was one of the best she has had. Would definitely try this place again.

We were here for dinner. Starters and main course were delicious, The choice of beer, of really good, outstanding beer was huge. Service was outstanding. Just name it, I liked it all

Went here for lunch. They were doing a reduced menu due to the expected volume because the Super Bowl was in town. They waitress was very efficient, although she never broke a smile - not used to that in Texas - everyone smiles. We ordered our food - it was just okay, but came out hot and very quick.

I loved all of the different moonshine drinks at this place! I also loved the pork bbq nachos. My friend and I split the nacho and that was the perfect amount of food. I can't remember too much else about the drinks here because we got a little bit tore up, but I would definitely come here again for moonshine cocktails. One of the drinks we had two of was a strawberry basil drink I think. It was so good! One of the coolest atmospheres I've seen in Houston, also their furniture was really comfortable, like Grandma's house.

Had dinner here on March 4, a Friday during Lent. I had a shrimp "po-boy." Not a real po-boy, because they do not use po boy bread. It was a shrimp sandwich on a hoagie roll. It was a good sandwich. Wife had blackened shrimp fettucine, which was very good. Good cocktails and pretty good service. I would return. One negative, not their fault but there is a "club" next door, and every now and then you would get a whiff of marijuana from there.

Really enjoyed the food. They had a decent beer selection and had some interesting cocktail selections. We sat outside and getting service was tough. I tried to wait for the server to be done dealing with an outside table to let her know we were also outside…but when she was done she turned away and went inside without looking behind her. I then went to the bar and tried to let them know we were outside. I had to wait a few minutes to be acknowledged….they were not busy. Finally I was acknowledged and told them we were sitting outside. I got an “ok” and the impression I was bothering him. Finally after over 10 minutes someone took our order. Nachos (which were huge) and wings were great. Service was decent, not great once we finally got someone to wait on us. It was my second visit there and both times service was subpar, which is a shame as the food is really good.

I ate the burger and the fries on the picture..I really liked it! the fingers were diirty afterwards but i like that

I travel to Houston often...and always end up at a high end restaurant with my clients. I had a free night for dinner tonight...and after walking around a few blocks...I decided to try The Moonshiners Southern Table and Bar. It was right down the street from my hotel....and I'm REALLY glad I picked this place. First off, my server was Natalie...and she is just amazing!! She's a beautiful soul, friendly and kind. I had to give up alcohol for a while, so I ordered an unsweetened iced tea. It was HUGE and actually tasted like tea....not that colored water you usually get. I ordered the Honey BBQ Chicken...a big half chicken cooked perfectly and finished on the grill. I had a choice of sides, and I chose the Mac N' Cheese. I am glad I did. It came in a BIG bowl and was just perfect. I highly recommend The Moonshiners Southern Table & Bar. And ask for Natalie...she makes the place PERFECT!!

Good service, great apps, average dinner menu. Starts off really good, takes a step down for main course.

On Saturday night, the menu looked great and the signs offered Southern Hospitality. We got a table outside. The sign said Seat Yourself. Just to make sure, asked a waiter if the patio was open and he said to go ahead and that a waiter would come see us. It never happened. After 20 minutes of no water, no menu, no water, we left and walked across the street. Moonshiners seemed far more interested in selling drinks than food.

Called in for a drink and some food, as the hotel was a 10 minute walk away. Excellent welcome, great food as a cost effective price. Perfect staff.

We had a really good meal at this popular spot. We were able to get seated quickly even though they were busy and it was too cold for outdoor seating for anyone. I had a meal with steak tips, mushrooms (heavily battered, which wasn't what I expected but ok), eggs, and bacon!!!! A bit of overkill on the protein, but I was okay with it since I had just run the marathon. Menu seems to specialize in meals that are very large- our selections were from the brunch menu. Service was very good!

Stopped in to grab a bite to eat and the food was very good. Friendly staff, above average bar food. Affordable place to grab a bite & a drink.

Had the non-spicy version of the Nashville chicken sandwich. The sandwich was great, especially the chicken though I would have preferred it on a bun instead of Texas toast. The fries were good, flat and tasty, but a little underdone. The staff were all extremely friendly and efficient.

Went for Sunday brunch. Little or no service most of time we were there. Ran out of champagne before noon not offered anything else. Waited nearly two hours for food. Food was over cooked and brought out separately. Management offered no help or explanation. Would not recommend this place.

We’ve travelled over 2 weeks from New York to Texas and this is the only bad experience we’ve had anywhere. Ordered 2 fillet steaks. One arrived. Asked about the other and eventually someone came and told us she only heard us order one despite the ‘I’ll have the same’ and ‘both medium’ requests. So now seemingly they only have one so can’t make another. No offer to see the menu again or anything to rectify the situation. To add insult to injury, we were asked for payment for the 2 glasses of wine without bringing a bill, which I had to ask to see. To top of a bad experience, our Mastercard which we’ve had no issue with in any store, hotel or restaurant over 2 weeks, seemingly wouldn’t work. Looked like the manager was asking the server what the issue was over at the bar, not that she showed face anywhere near us mind you. You'd think by now they might just have comped the wine. Nah, that would be good service eh!

I am a southern belle living in the north. So when I saw all types of Southern comfort food here, I leapt for joy. I got my standard chicken and waffles, which was absolutely delicious in terms of the fixings and waffles. The chicken could’ve used more seasoning. They do a raspberry jam as well to go with it. So the food came out in adequate time and the restaurant has a unique Southern charm with a modern flavor. Plenty of TVs to catch the game (pick a sport and it was on). However the music was so loud that I could hardly order to my bartender without a raised voice. Also talking on the phone was a little more difficult. And this was in the middle of the day for brunch. So great food, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a southern eating and drinking experience.

Quiet on a Monday lunchtime during spring break, but a friendly welcome nonetheless. Had the pulled pork tacos. I'm allergic to eggs so they offered me an alternative to the slaw and I had fried okra, which was delicious. Great range of beers too!

Nice place to have a drink and eat, they have sitting outside as well. Service is very good. Location is happening in downtown. They serve vegetarian on demand.

Good food and service. Southern chic look inside. Stay aware of your surroundings while walking to and from Daikin ballpark.

Went here with a coworker before hitting up the AMC theater nearby. The atmosphic was nice, hipster meets the south (because of the amount of gentlemen in the bar with holstered guns). Burger was good along with the wings. Good beer selection, tried a few dark beers that were good. Only thing lacking was the attentiveness of the waitresses and their manors. The first one swung by with nothing more than "What do you want?" and then it took us flagging them down from there to get anything that we needed. It wasn't even half full, so I'm not sure why they were in such a sour mood, but they need to put on a smile if they want to work in the service industry.

Visited earlier this month with some friends on vacation from England. Had the Hot Nashville Quesadilla's and have to say they were one of the tastiest things I have ever eaten, would love the recipe if you read this!!!

I really enjoyed this place! Great location, you can sit inside or outside. The pulled pork tacos were the best I've ever had! Love the open air atmosphere and they had baseball playing on the bigscreens, but not too loud. Great place to people watch and service was decent. I've never tried moonshine before and they had a great selection of different ones. Can't wait to return! Enjoy!!

Food was good but nothing spectacular. Stand out at our table were the shrimp and grits and the shrimp po-boy. The fried chicken sandwich was ok. The Midnight Mule and the Moonshine Mojito got thumbs up while the Peachy Keen got a thumbs down.

Best Brisket we have had in long time. I got the brisket grilled cheese and my husband got Brisket tacos. They were excellent. We also had the banana pudding which was just enough sweet. Not your grandma's but still good. Not far from the stadium.

The burger, the shredded pork tacos, the fruit cobbler - plus a lightly bitter IPA and a sharp Moscow Mule - made watching College Football Saturday an event, not just a stop along the way. As an example of inspiration, the shredded pork tacos are shredded pork mixed with a beautiful spicy, purple cabbage slaw, Sriracha and creme fraiche. A couple of dishes we haven't tried yet, but which looked so tempting when they passed by to other tables were the Blackberry Chutney Chicken & Waffles, and the Smoked Brisket Grilled Cheese. For dessert, we had the fruit cobbler, which was served homestyle in a Mason jar (crispy, cinnamon apple cobbler with two huge scoops of vanilla ice cream on top. Thoughtfully served with an ice tea spoon so you can reach all the way to the bottom.) Really difficult to think of a happier way to spend an early evening watching college football!

We walked into Moonshiners and a sign said seat yourself. We were greeted within 2-3 mins of sitting down....fantastic so far. We had our drink order taken right away and when she came back 5 mins later with our drinks she took our food order. We ordered an app of brisket nachos to get things started. We also ordered the brisket grilled cheese and a BLT. Our food took a long time to come out and we werent checked on again until our food came out (our drinks were empty by this time). Our nachos came out and 1 minute later our main meals. We would have liked to have enjoyed our starter before our main course sat so that food wouldnt get cold. Oh well. The nachos were fantastic as was both sandwiches we ordered. Once our food was dropped we werent check on again until after our meals were completed...we were then finally asked if we needed another drink or anything else. We declined to order another drink and asked for a to go box for the nachos that we didnt eat much of since our meals arrived moments after the starter arrived. Our waitress disappeared for a good 6-8 minutes before bringing back our to go box...she dropped it and walked off. I had to stop her and ask for a check as well. We were brought our check a few minutes later. Food was great, service was lacking a little bit and was very slow. Signature moonshine drinks were great. Place was about 70% capacity and staff on the floor should have had the place covered. All in all...I would return just as long as I was in no rush at all.

We stopped in here after the Astros game yesterday and it was happy hour. The fried green tomatoes were tasty. We had some drink specials too - lavender mule, peachshine tea, and beer. After drinking, we decided to have dinner. As a vegetarian, I encourage the restaurant to add more vegetarian entrees. Had the tomato arugula salad and it was delicious. The reason why I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is lack of meat-free dishes and it was so loud! The acoustics need to be addressed!

The place has an after work/college bar vibe, which seemed fine. Diffident service, pushback from the server when we pointed out that we were charged for an item we never received, and meh food. Server ignored our attempts to get their attention.

The place was very busy. The waiter was very helpful. The place was slammed as the weather was great and people wanted to be out. The shrimp and grits were VERY spicy (somebody stubbed their toe when adding the tabasco sauce). The pulled pork was okay. But the fried okra was a grand slam, some of best ever. The Southern Table Sampler was epic, it exceeded awesome. Would go and order just Southern Table Sampler and a drink. But it very noisy, however they put the NCAA game on that I wanted to watch.

Went for Saturday lunch/brunch. It hit the spot. Good drinks and good burgers. My wife had a cheeseburger and I ordered the brunch eggs benedict burger (I forgot the name of it on the menu). The service was relaxed, as other reviewers noted. It did not bother me, as that is why I go to a bar to eat. We never waited too long, however, our waitress was never in a hurry. Neither were we. Good spot to relax and have some good drinks and good bar food.

My granddaughter had dinner and it was great. We shared a mac and cheese which was delicious, we both had the pulled pork sandwich w/fries. It is downtown, opened atmosphere where you can sit outside and check all the action of the busy city or inside with sports on a large screen t.v.. We parked around the corner in a local garage which was convenient. All in all, it was good, home cooking, nothing fancy, but good food as well as good atmosphere. Worth the visit, upbeat and friendly.

7/20/22: Visiting from Dallas. This was within walking distance from our downtown hotel, and it wasn't too busy when we got there, around 8:30 pm. Morgan took care of us. She was very friendly and welcoming. She only had one Michelob Ultra, so my friend took it, and I ordered a draft Bombshell blonde, which was pretty good. He had a Moonshiners burger, and I had the pulled pork tacos. The food was really good, and the restaurant was clean. Around 9pm, more people were starting to come in. There were TV's throughout, and it was a pretty cool atmosphere.

Four of us stopped in for breakfast and were greeted by a very friendly staff. We all ordered a breakfast cocktail and they were brought out quickly. The kahlua and coffee was fabulous and the mimosa was delicious. Two people ordered screwdrivers and they came out a bit weak, but still tasty. There was a relatively long wait from the time we ordered to the time the food came out, but it was well worth every minute. We ordered the breakfast tacos with brisket, biscuits and gravy with filet, a breakfast burger, and a brisket sandwich. Every item was absolutely delicious. The meat was wonderfully tender and flavorful. And all of the prices were very fair. We will definitely be back.

One word: Mama's Fried Chicken Sandwich. OK, so it's not one word. But it is one order, one philosophy, and one sandwich. That's right, one sandwich. And while it's not the best overall sandwich I've ever had, it is the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The set and setting may have had something to do with it. Sitting in an open air corner pub atmosphere watching March Madness with a cold beer and a cool breeze never hurts a meal. But seriously, this is one good sandwich that's so big, you'll want to cut in to two pieces to enjoy.

We ordered the nachos, they are great! Both in taste as in size! Loved the atmosphere inside, best place on mainstreet downtown Houston

We were on our way to the airport and checked TripAdvisor for a good place to eat. Thanks to our fellow review team, we thoroughly enjoyed a great meal and enjoyed their fun staff. You won't spend too much on your meal because Moonshiners is priced affordably. Safe travels! I have a photo, but TripAdvisor has no upload on this page for some reason. Oh well...Safe travels!

IN amongst a little enclave of cafes and restaurants on the east side of downtown Moonshiners is a great little pub-cafe. I had the burger and it was super. A bit too much salt on the fries so maybe ask them to hold the salt. Good place and will definitely go back.

We had a great night out in downtown Houston. It's a nice pub with good drinks and food. The food portions are immense, so keep that in mind! The servers were very attentive (the place wasn't really full) and we had a great time.

Great service and huge portions of food at this quirky bar/restaurant. Large menu of drinks and food. Staff were friendly and professional.

If you want to engage with friendly knowledgable servers/bartenders you might want to consider this place for a quick and easy downtown lunch. I was recommended the lemon-herb half chicken and selected the fried okra (the only time I dare order okra is when My spouse is not around). The plate was served briskly, probably cooked a week ago and reheated and was surrounded with a mound of fried okra. The "herbed" chicken needed seasoning to make it palatable. The ambience was fun enough so don't take it too seriously. But to really benefit from this downtown bar and eatery, have the bartender pull a pint of a broad selection of craft beers. After all it is called "Moonshiners"!

Great place to eat downtown Houston!I had the grilled cheese with brisket and it was great. Very friendly staff. I’ll definitely be coming back.

While the menu was limited in options, the food was pretty good. Brisket tacos, shrimp and grits and bar food/sandwiches. A few beers on tap and several moonshine cocktails and drinks. Nice indoor/outdoor atmosphere with open air dining.

While visiting Houston, we wanted to visit a place that had what one might say was typical fare for the area. We found it at Moonshiners. We both had the smoked brisket sandwich. One of the tastiest sandwiches I've had in a long time

I was in town solo for business, and the hotel recommended this spot. It was average bar food, but there’s nothing wrong with that...just not going to win any awards. I had the brisket grilled cheese which was very good. They definitely scored points by having fried okra as a side option. They have lots of TV’s, so it would be a good spot to grab a beer and watch a game.

Only place in Houston that was one late for dinner when I arrived. I thought with the name like Moonshiners they would have quite the selection. I was wrong. Very disappointment in the food, service and beverage selections

Its always a un place to hang. I've never had a bad meal here. I especially like shrimp and grits. The servers are super friendly and they have plenty of TV's.

Right around the corner from the Magnolia Hotel, we stopped in one night on a business dinner & some drinks. The southern comfort dishes filled the menu, but the menu was not loaded by any means- couple dozen options maybe. They made up for the quantity with quality- all members of my party were extremely pleased with their choices. Who would have known that pulled pork & beef brisket soft tacos would be such great combinations along with a German Hefeweizen beer?!... Good experience & food with great company.

Probably the best bar in the area. Impeccable service, affordable, fast and above all very good! We recommend the Shrimp Tacos!

Great find. The food was excellent. Ordered of the happy hour menu. Pulled pork sliders were excellent. The rest of the family, order sides mashed potatoes, Mac and Cheese and homemade kettle chips. Great beer selection. I would recommend stopping in!

GREAT nachos, great atmosphere, great drinks, great staff! It's a great place to walk to and grab a bite or some of the moonshine made drinks!

Although this looked to have a great menu we had only popped in for a drink (or two). Friendly welcome from staff and an extensive cocktails menu which I was happy to have a go at. Had three different ones and all were excellent and were reasonable value for Downtown too. Good, lively atmosphere.

This place has decor that gives it a backwoodsy vibe, kind of rustic, but edgy at the same time. The waitstaff was courteous, prompt, and checked on us frequently. I had the moonshiner signature burger, my colleague had the mama's crispy fried chicken sandwich. The sandwiches were huge and delicious, and the fries were hand cut right there. Reasonably priced, and good value for the money. I'd come back here again!

An average place. Can't really say anything bad but nothing exciting either. Ordered the grilled cheese, it was more meat than cheese. I guess that's not a bad thing except when your expecting grilled cheese.

We arrived during happy hour on a Tuesday afternoon. Found a table and the waitress came straight over to take our order. She was very helpful and friendly. The place was quite busy for 4pm and the happy hour offerings on both drinks and food were great. Ordered the sliders and side of fries and salad and everything was very enjoyable, tasty and well seasoned. Will definitely return during our few days in Houston.

My husband had the signature burger and for myself I chose the grilled cheese sandwich. We were both extremely satisfied with our food! Nice and busteling atmosphere as we was there on an early Friday night. Quick service.

I love this place because it is in walking distance from my dwelling and has one of the best menu's in downtown Houston! I've been here to eat and drink about 4 times, and each time I tried something different! Brisket Grilled Cheese is decadent and the brisket is soooo tender, flavorful, and filling. The Mama's Fried Chicken sandwich is a MONSTER!! It has lettuce, tomato, thick bacon, maybe cheese (can't remember), and sauce. You can barely wrap your mouth around it to take a bite is so tall with goodness! Their fries are yummy as well and they serve all of their drinks in a huge icy cold mason jar!! Love it!! Their moonshine inspired drinks are strong, sweet and get you to where you want to go on a smooth tip! Enjoy!!!

After a long day of traveling it was a nice finish to the day. Portions were generous and all meals ordered exceeded expectations. I personally had the shrimp fettuccine and it was excellent.

This a great casual restaurant with a super friendly staff. Went there twice in a 3 day trip - the 1st time was at about 20 minutes before the kitchen closed (because we got in to town late); but they were still very accommodating and got our order in. The fried green tomato appetizer is AMAZING, and their wings are giant and delicious! The 2nd time was for a late lunch / early dinner - I ordered the brisket nachos and they were big enough for 4 people to have as a meal. My companion also raved about the blackened chicken fettuccini. The place is clean, the atmosphere is great, and all of the staff is on their game and (again) very friendly.

I was traveling alone and stopped here while taking a late night walk. The service was outstanding and drinks were great. My shrimp appetizers were good but not great. Nice ambiance and a great place.

I love this place!! literally everything is good on the food menu, from the brisket nachos to the chicken and waffles ( you can tell i eat here a lot lol) My favorite drink is an off the menu chi tea.. perfect place for you to have a fun night out with friends very chill!!

My favourite place in Houston so far! The service was really great. The cocktails were really delish and the food equally good. The staff were super friendly and quick to keep the drinks flowing.

INCREDIBLE. The shrimp and grits was the best and I've lived in Louisiana for 13 years. Great Manhattans, great bar and pub food.

Would definitely recommend this place. Had a really good atmosphere. Staff were great. The food was really really good. Large portions. The cocktails were different and very nice.

We stopped to have a cold beer and a sandwich on a hot day while in Houston for the day. The service was pretty good considering how busy the restaurant was. Our friend had a fried chicken sandwich that was alright, my BF had the breakfast burger that he enjoyed and I had a grilled cheese with spinach and artichokes that I really liked. We had enough time to have 2-3 beers before it arrived so it was a pretty long wait but we were visiting with our friend so it was OK plus the manager took 3 beers off our bill without us asking so that was really great! The waitstaff was friendly and helped each other and the manager was running around helping everyone. Overall a good place to eat.

We had a bite to eat and a few drinks at the Moonshiners yesterday afternoon. Prices were great as happy hour was in progress (up until 6pm). The atmosphere and service was great. Very friendly and plenty of customers having a good time. The moonshiner cocktails went down very nicely! The food was also very good. We were keen to try some Southern fare and there were plenty of options available.

We flew in town for a day and stayed downtown. This place was in walking distance from our hotel so we decided to check it out. The restaurant offers outdoor seating which allows you to take in the surrounding scenery. Houston’s metro train runs right in front of this place, which was no problem for us. They have a decent happy hour menu since we had recently eaten we ordered from it. We had no issues with the waitress. She was attentive, friendly, and helpful. I would visit again if I ever stay downtown Houston.

My husband and I lived a block away from Moonshiner's and it was one of our go-to places to eat! The ambience is casual and if the weather is favorable, the outside patio is the perfect place to eat. The food is great and we always had positive dining experiences.

It looked good and was the most appealing place to eat on a stroll down Main Street. It was good they had a nice selection of local brews along with some food happy hour items. I went with the brisket grilled chees with a salad. It was good, not great but very decent for the price. The service was quick and good with a nice atmosphere.

Besides the southern name that grabbed my attention- the food I can't get over how amazing it was! We all got sandwiches off the menu to try and were not disappointed. I had the fried chicken sandwich with a salad instead of fires. I opted out for the ranch dressing that came on it and I am glad I did! The chicken breast was lightly breaded with herb seasonings & if the ranch was on there I think I would not have tasted the rich flavor the batter had. The dressing that I choose with my salad was a lemon vinaigrette and it was delish! We did order some okra and was that such a surprise! No grease or over cooked okra to wrap around your taste buds & dive for more! Lightly battered as well & very green. I felt like I was eating a fresh veggie picked right off the farm. My other colleagues got a brisket sandwich & the BLT which came with a fried green tomato. Heard both were heavenly! Everything was so fresh right down to the core of each food I tasted. No drinks with this round, but I will be back to try their homemade signature drinks. So, if your looking for a new place to get your tasters going, defiantly try out The Moonshiners!

There are plenty of TVs to watch the game while eating. For a sports bar, their southern-style food is very good - but very filling. They have nice indoor and outdoor seating. It is first come first serve seating and you can seat yourself.

While staying at the Aloft hotel around the corner, I asked the guys and gal at the front desk for restaurant ideas. Two of them recommended Moonshiners and I glanced at the menu and thought it was worth the walk in the rain. They recommended Smoked Brisket grilled cheese and the Blackberry Chutney Chicken & Waffles (I guess something they are famous for). When I got there the bartender asked what I wanted and when I told him I needed a menu he said kind of in a rude manner, "Well, the kitchen is backed up about an hour." I told him I was in no hurry and ordered the Blackened Shrimp fettuccine. I sat there had a beer, watched the WS game, and waited for my food to arrive. Having worked in food service for over 20 years, I could tell he was a little-stressed b/c the restaurant was PACKED. One thing I will say about this place is it was very loud and it would have been hard to carry on a conversation without yelling. My food arrived about 35-40 after I had ordered it. It was one of my favorite meals that I had during my week-long trip.

This is a must try if in downtown Houston! Staff super friendly, near the Metrorail, open on the weekend, neat decor, great....really super delicious food.

The female staff I encountered were all very friendly and professional. The male serving staff seemed to think they were on spring break, screaming shouting, bouncing across the room like they are gangsters - really annoying and spoilt what would otherwise have been a good experience. Was planning a few drinks, but instead had one and left for the Saucer. Food and drinks selection is good.

We really enjoyed our lunch here. After walking nearly 5 miles around downtown Houston, we needed to get off our feet! Started with a glass of chardonnay ($10) and a local draft craft beer ($6.50). Enjoyable. Ordered the shrimp tacos (3 large tacos for $17) and there were excellent - stuffed with large shrimp. Hubby ordered the pulled pork tacos (3 large for $15) - which he enjoyed after removing a whole lot of sliced red cabbage. Atmosphere upscale, but casual with large windows on 2 sides of the dining room. Service was friendly.

Eclectic vibe with plenty of screens showing sports. Important info for those wanting college to pro games like baseball. Service is great! I could sit anywhere. Food presentation is fabulous. The fried tomatoes appetizer is not quite what I expected. Being a Texas girl I figured the fried green tomatoes would be cooked a bit more but they’re essentially batter fried but leaving the tomatoes still crispy. The crab topping and arugula light salad is a perfect compliment to feeling like I’m eating a full meal without being a “salad “! Nicely done Moonshine!

Only stopped in for a drink before going to the hotel. The staff was nice and took care of us. It was late and there were some messes that needed to be cleaned up. I do understand trying to close out the evening. No complaints.

Followed our hotel's recommendation for a quick dinner. Typical beer and burger place. A few nice touches carry the "moonshine" theme: walls inside are supposed to look like a forest, water as well as salads come im screwtop jars. The burger was good and not insanely large. The salad was fresh. But overall, I wouldn't make a signifacant effort to go back there.

Looking for food at midnight and found this place. It was packed but service was great. Food delicious and reasonably priced.
Excellent location
Located in the downtown, the place is very nice. Service is good in general but the food is great, specially a big hamburger wich is delicious and really big! The beer is also very good. You can walk from there to many places in the downtown or you can take the metro to get there. It is a nice area to look around.
