The Nest provides a great view and service, but only average drinks for above-average prices. It's a must-visit when you get to Seattle.

Great spot to take in the Seattle waterfront views and enjoy a few drinks and nibbles. Came with my husband on a visit to Seattle. We had couch seating, it was raining at the time, but the venue had great heating and you could still enjoy the view whilst remaining dry.

We were in town for the weekend and went here in the afternoon for some beers and a snack. Yes, it is pricey but it is prime real estate with an awesome view of the Sound just above the Pike Place Market. We met some friendly locals here so not just tourists. I would return.

I paid quite a lot for a drink and appetizer but it was worth it just for the view. It was not very crowded in the late afternoon.

I am only giving them a 1 star because i have to. Decided to try out the nest for my friends birthday night out. Once we arrived at the nest the host escorted us to a dirty table, My friend asked the hosts if she can send someone to wipe down the tables and the hosts rolled her eyes and said in a snotty attitude "I know, i'll send someone" . The drinks were terrible and terribly expensive, we paid $50 for two drinks. As if that wasn't bad enough on our way out to hit the town we got stuck in elevator for 45 minutes. That delayed our whole night and ruined my friends birthday night out. I got contacted by Stephhon a few weeks later claiming he would like to invite me back for fam stay since we were clearly dissatisfied with our visit. He told me to email him the date for the fam stay. Once i emailed him the details i got no reply back, i reached out to him over the phone few times but i received nothing. I call for last time and spoke with Makah'la at the front desk. She keeps insisting Stephon will call me back when i was asking to speak to the general manger. When she refused to contact me to the GM i asked her to give me the GM's email she stated she doesn't have the Gm;s email. I found it very disturbing to run a "luxury" hotel/bar with such unprofessional team and rude staff and broken elevator.

Maybe it was because we were fortunate to be there on a splendid Seattle day or perhaps the stunning view--- whatever, this old, synical, seen it all, been there, done that type was quite smitten with the place. The bar is unique, there is an open air patio and a covered bar, makes one feel on top of the world. . On the patio is a Korean style BBQ making skewered choices. The staff is friendly and the bar tenders know their stuff. What's there not to love?

I love this bar. Great way to take in the view of Elliott Bay (including the Great Wheel). I have been here in the winter, summer, rainy and sunny days. No matter what you will enjoy the view. In the winter the space is quite small (might seat 50) but in the summer the space is doubled due to a large outdoor space. Drinks are $15+ but there is no cover. One of my few complaints about this bar is they only serve a few snacks; nuts, popcorn, cheese platter, etc. They don't have a kitchen so only have limited offerings. This is a brand new building, what were they thinking when they decided not to include a kitchen up here? One last thing, they include an automatic gratuity/service charge of 20% to every order. Just be aware of this when you are paying the bill. However, every time I have paid they have made sure to remind me that gratuity is included.

Must go - share a drink with friends or yoru lovey! DO IT! Great place for HH or end your evening with a night cap!

I had a nice evening with a collegue from work when we attended at the worlds largest database summit in Seattle, the nest is an fanastic bar with an excellent view over the sea front in Seattle. Nice bartenders and nice sofas to relax in and just enjoying the atmosphere. Fantastic experience

Went here while visiting Seattle for a couple of days. We went on a Friday afternoon. Made it to the elevators where we were turned back to the main entrance to show our IDs because we were not staying at the hotel. Fine. No discernible reason for this (we are in our 60s so couldn't be about making the legal drinking age). Made it to the top level where we were faced with huge long lines trying to get a drink. The view was worth it. The long lines with arrogant bartenders were not worth it. Made to feel stupid because I didn't know the local beers/drinks, Despite this, we had a nice time enjoying the view and having a few drinks. One of the best views in Seattle (if you can get by the arrogance of the waitstaff). Probably would not return but would look for a nice alternative. Drinks were a bit pricey but I'd be happy to pay if the waitstaff weren't so condescending. Worth a try but look to see if you can find some other place instead.

This is a fantastic rooftop bar at Motif hotel. It has good-tasting but expensive drinks (New York City prices such as $17 for Grey Goose vodka + pineapple juice). The waiters gave incredible service and kept asking if we wanted drinks. There are high booths with chairs and couches inside. There are tables with a beautiful of the city and water outside.

Great views, friendly staff, amazing drinks. Try to go when its nicer they have the doors open to go out on the patio. Or grab a seat next to the fire pit.

Drop in around 6-7pm and enjoy the beautiful view upto Mt. Rainier while you sip your beer or wine with lovely bbq nibbles

The view from this rooftop bar is outstanding, and the staff is very attentive (so many of them too?). Even by high-end standards, though, the drinks are just TOO TOO expensive. I would think that you would want to draw more people to the Nest rather than a one-and-done. I would have been up there for all 4 nights of my stay, but on the first night I ordered a martini, and while it was decent it was $25? For 1 drink? That's totally nuts. $50 for 2 drinks over 30 minutes and I was out. But if you have perhaps a very special occasion maybe you go there if you live in Seattle. If you are staying in the hotel, go up there, order a soda, take a peek, then walk a block away to the bars that charge 1/3rd of the price. Next door is a Vietnamese restaurant with an OUTSTANDING basil martini. $8.

A totally unobstructed view of Seattle with great cocktail and wonderful service. Our third time there and we will be back.

We had just checked into the hotel and ran up about 4:30 p.m. for a drink at at the Nest. The hostess seated us for a half hour, which was very nice because we didn't have reservations. We had the nicest waiter named Devin. He voluntarily took the time to write down recommendations of places to visit while in Seattle. By the way, the temporary tent was a good shelter from the strong winds.

This rooftop bar has a stunning view of Elliott Bay and a great vibe , day and night . There is an indoor lounge if the weather is inclement .

New to the Seattle bar scene, the Nest in the Thompson Seattle hotel is an upscale venue with sweeping views on Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains. The Thompson Seattle and The Nest just opened in June, 2016. I live in Belltown, and tend to day-drink on the weekends. On nice days, I hit all the downtown spots that offer patio and rooftop seating. I had been meaning to check out The Nest for a few months now, and finally went on a beautiful Sunday with my sister and spouse over Labor Day weekend. The place is gorgeous. It's easily one of the prettiest bars in Seattle. I travel to LA and Vegas a lot, and The Nest seemed like an awesome mix of upscale bars in those cities. The other patrons were dressed really smartly and were an attractive bunch, so it really added to the whole vibe of the place. The staff was outstanding. From the host, to the servers, to the bartenders (a huge shout-out to Joey) - everyone was so friendly, accommodating, and really happy we were there. We ended up meeting a group of people and stayed for several hours. I really love this place and cannot wait to go back this coming weekend! I would suggest making reservations as the place gets really busy.

Went here recently for a business function. The rooftop views are great, although it was wet the night we were there. A bit pricey. But nice. Located in the Thompson Hotel.

The bar has amazing view. However, with a number of people that they allow up there. You will be blocked from actually looking at the view. The cocktails are fine but nothing special, even though, with the price tag, it should be special.

Just bought a drink at The Nest on Saturday. I expect a decent drink for $14. The first drink had a piece of black mold in the ice! When I took it back, the bartender, Katie, didn't care at all and said, "ok what do you want? An ice cube or a drink?" Then went to her other bartender to complain. When she created a new drink, it was only half the drink. This time, a smaller piece of mold/ plastic but nothing near as bad as the first time. This place is disgusting and so are the bartenders.

Never had Oysters before, the server at the Scout recommended it. We challenged ourselves with my girls and ordered just one each for 5 of us. The Chef served us by himself and was the most overwhelmingly exciting feeling. We loved the service and the food. It does look a little pricey but after a bite it is definitely worth!

First, I have to say that we loved the plant wall upon entrance! My husband and I are in our 50's but still had a great time amongst 20-35 year olds. The drinks were wonderful, the view spectacular and we really enjoyed our evening there.

We came to this rooftop bar since we were staying in the hotel. I live in New York but the prices seemed steep even to me. The cocktails were OK but nothing special so I recommend sticking to wine or beer while enjoying the great view.

Loved the view and the drinks were fabulous! I hear it is packed on the weekends but for a Monday night the view was incredible!

Went to the top of the Thompson Hotel (The Nest) to see the view of the Seattle waterfront. Awesome view, but drinks very expensive. Cocktails $20, beers $10. appetizers very expensive. Very congested with people. We went within 10 min. after it opened at 1:00 PM, and crowds very thick. But the view is truly wonderful.

Daniele dellecave is the most amazing bar manager. He made our experience at both scout restaurant and the nest the most amazing night ever! Kept us laughing, was a whole hearted host and genuinely took care of us for the night as if we were long time friends. Made the night of celebrating birthday and engagements one to remember. We will be back time and time again thanks to him!

So I was staying at the Thompson and figured a nightcap on the rooftop would be in order. It was a Sunday night and apparently this is a hopping day. They had a DJ spinning and it had a very lively vibe. Terrific views of the city and waterfront from here.

We are locals in Seattle. My 23 year old daughter was home and so we headed over to the Nest with her and her friend. We ordered the very expensive Flamingo bowl and we all really enjoyed it. Usually in Seattle the service is terrible, especially at bars. However, we felt the service was good considering the amount of people there. The view on their outside deck is of the water and the Ferris wheel. Makes a good shot for those silly IG pictures. Anyway, I enjoyed it enough to invite a friend in from the suburbs to go have drinks a few weeks later. We ate a few appetizers with our drinks and again I thought the service was much better than I've experienced lately. The food was good too. I would recommend.

Sitting the the window is amazing. Or sit outside if the weather cooperates. But we enjoyed sitting at the bar and watching the bartender create some fun cocktails. The Nest serves only snacks, so it is a good place to ge before or after dinner. The salmon rilette and pimento cheese are tasty. Service is very attentive.

Flew into town early before my crew arrived, heard it was a good spot for views of Seattle and wow, I was not disappointed. The bartenders treated me like royalty and gave me a list of places to try during our visit. Amazing service, ambiance, views, highly recommend it. Had one go the best vodka sodas ever too!

Beautiful view from this rooftop bar. With inside and outside seating it really doesn't matter what the weather is doing- you have a great view and nice beverage anytime of the year. Not your craft cocktail type of place although the prices might lead you to believe otherwise. Decent selection of draft beers so that is what I enjoyed.

I hope The owner ( Matt) will understand that if you cannot provide expected service - sun shade or replacement table and your clients don’t feel comfortable you should have honor their will to leave without them paying for reservation any way . We have received tiny table by the speaker and dish collector in sun , we have asked host for change of table or sunshade , both were denied 🙅♂️ You can’t treat people like trash and take their money wile all you provide is the view - by the way guys be aware this place has only big cabanas where you can have view every other table for two has absolutely obstructed view Also o my people that have cabanas have right to sun shade It’s unacceptable Do not go there if you are just a couple we have ruined our double birthday and we won’t forget that one ☝️

I've been coming to the Nest since it opened last year. They have a 180 degrees view Elliot Bay, very attentive staff, and great cocktails. Highly recommend for anyone living in or visiting Seattle.

My partner and I took a chance that we could get into The Nest at 4 p.m. on a gorgeous Saturday, and were so pleased to be able to do so. Nest is an exceptional experience, with a 180 degree view of Elliot Bay (Puget Sound). We were put on a waiting list, but were able to secure bar seating within 5 minutes. They process bar drinks pretty quickly and also snacks. My vodka tonic was made in front of me, a nice pour, made to order. We added fresh homemade chips and red pepper topping, which was delicious! You just can't beat the ambience here on a beautiful day. Prices are fair and a tip is included in the final bill. Can't wait for another opportunity to return here.

What to do with out-of-town guests? Perhaps here but only for a short time-The drinks are uninteresting and WAY overpriced (and small) The music is that manipulatively loud volume so you have to yell to be heard--making the place sound exciting-which it is not--and the exorbitant 20% service charge for service that is practically non-existent adds insult to injury-but the view is a bit of alright-but that's it-and this on a Monday evening I would be afraid for the weekend

A server at our hotel suggested Nest for drinks at the end of the day. It’s at the top of the Thompson Hotel downtown, with a high, long view of the water and mountains in the distance. A gathering place for milennials, we more senior folks were not deterred and in fact were warmly welcomed to share a sofa and comfortable chairs. Excellent drinks and appetizers, we didn’t want to leave and turned our small plates into a shared dinner.

We stopped in for a birthday bite and drink before heading to our final dinner destination. We were looking forward to it because friends had recommended we go. I had a wine and my hubby had a cocktail. I finished my wine and although three servers were standing at the cash chatting, no one came over to offer another. We waiter about 15 minutes like that and finally decided to go elsewhere for a pre dinner outing. We popped outside to see the view before leaving, which was good, but honestly for $42 (including the 20% auto grat) there are so many better options!

Great views and cocktails with a very hospitable staff. Spotted a sports celebrity! Indoor and outdoor seating.

Stayed at the Thompson for business and went up to nest for a drink and some food. Great view from the deck and nicely furnished. Most tables were full as was the bar, and this was about 4:00 pm on a Monday! Food was pretty good, but I felt the prices were high considering the offering. Drinks also seemed to be a bit higher than normal.

One of the best views in the City. Drinks are a bit overpriced - even for downtown - but a tip is built in. Food is amazing and well beyond what you'd expect from any bar. Try to get there early for good seats but even if you end up milling around and standing, you won't be too disappointed. The views are truly THAT good ;)

Excellent place for drinks, and when we went the weather was also excellent. The view of Seattle was mind blowing. The cocktails were also very good. The only issue (which can't be helped) was that it was a long wait for the drinks.

Beware of the service and their billing processes. The server initially tried to overcharge us by $30 (he added drinks to our bill that we hadn’t had). When we challenged this he reluctantly agreed to sort it out. After we left, we were shocked to see that there were two charges on our credit card. One for the correct amount of $33 (a beer and glass of prosecco) but also an additional and separate charge (that I hadn’t authorized) for $96.67!! Despite multiple calls to the manager this charge hasn’t been reversed. You have been warned.

Set on the roof of the Thompson Hotel, the space and decor is modern and clean. The view overlooking the bay is spectacular. The staff is friendly. The prices are noticeably higher than market and there are no happy hour specials. They open at 5pm.

Buzzing is the only description, lots of exciting young people , out to enjoy themselves. Very controlled environment which can only be reached by lift which is controlled by Hotel Staff. Difficult to actually get to the bar but the ambiance helped to revive my youth. Everyone happy to talk to each other and great place to party

I felt this place was a little overrated. I did have a very tasty drink but we weren't able to sit anywhere and could barely find a spot to stand to get a view.

By far the best rooftop bar in the city. Great drinks, staff and view. No issue recommending this spot!

We stayed at the hotel and were able to skip the line; however, I would say the wait is worth it. They did a fantastic job on making this place enjoyable by keeping the head count reasonable. Drinks were easy to get, it was simple to walk around, and there was plenty of seating. The main and obvious reason to come is the view. The view didn't disappoint and was a perfect place to grab our last drink before heading in.

I've been wanting to go to the Nast for about a year. I made reservations using Resy. I didn't realize that they charge $50 to have a table. We ordered a bottle of wine and three small appetizers and the bill came to $187 for three people. The wine we had was the least expensive at $60 a bottle. In addition we had to pay $15 to valet the car. The view is amazing the sofa sections are beautiful the service was great but an hour and a half on the deck with one and a half glasses of wine and tiny bites to eat is crazy to pay $187!

What a joke - had a valid NZ drivers license and a scanned copy of passport... no entry.. I’m 44 yrs old and look it... asked to talk to the manager.. still denied... wtf.. every other bar and restaurant in Seattle was more than happy and also great. These guys ruined my night tbh.

Despite the wait to get into this hip and fun venue, service is great, ambiance is fantastic and drinks/apps are awesome. Looking forward to trying Hotel as well. Staff was nice. While waiting to get upstairs you can get a drink in the lobby level bar and take upstairs with you.

On a cool night we spent the time inside, though if it's warmer the outdoor deck is large for relaxing and great views of Seattle and the waterfront.

We went here for drinks on my birthday. Our server was incredibly sweet, the view was stellar, the decor was awesome but it was my birthday and I am 7 months pregnant and my non alcoholic drink cost more than my husbands cocktail so that is the only reason I'm dinging this place.

Great view!!! Lots of loud pretentious half drunken people dressed grungily with dogs. For a reportedly upscale place, it was disappointing. Cocktails were kind of expensive and the only food being served that night was popcorn, mixed nuts (and we saw plenty of them already there), and a cheese plate. Least expensive wine was a rather nice Basel Malbec for $12 Bud Light bottles were $6 There is very limited indoor seating and plenty of outdoor roof top seating. And again... the view is terrific.

Excellent. Good cocktails and fabulous view. Not a lot of seats but a large outside rooftop terrace with views of the harbour.

Take a moment to enjoy the view as you relax and sip your drink. The sunset is worth a price of a drink.

Spectacular views from the centrally located roof terrace over the quays and downtown. Nice staff and good drinks.

We were meeting people up there for drinks but when we exited the elevator we were asked if we had a reservation, for drinks!? Then we had to get our hand stamped!!! Why?Apparently, there are people who pay $50 to reserve a couch there. Well, we took in the views but there was absolutely no place to sit or even stand comfortably so we left. Views are spectacular though! Just a bit too pretentious! People who sit there think they are cool just because they spend $ on being able to sit on a couch for a bit, in our opinion they just seem silly and not cool at all :-)

If Seattle has a "Class System" this place really expresses that a great deal. After walking on the Pier and being among great history and experiences of Seattle this place makes you feel like you really crossed the street. Pay close attention to the dress code, written or unwritten. If you aren't dressed the part you will not feel welcome. Now, let's be honest...there was only ONE reason we came to this place and it was location, location, location and the view of the city. I can only imagine day or night the views from the Nest area amazing. The staff were friendly and I will give them that but the customers who were around us seemed to smell that we were from out of town. Unintentionally there was another couple that seemed to feel the same as we did. We arrived 10 minutes before 3pm when they open and it appeared to be a tad bit of chaos but it was our first time. It felt like trying to get in a country club that was members only. Then once we were at our seats the staff were nice, drinks way over priced and so was the food (what little there was). It is about networking, rubbing elbows, dress up, spend way to much money but I will give them credit that getting in didn't cost us anything. We stayed maybe 15-20 minutes and left with a couple that was on our elevator ride up. This truly felt like an "upper class" type of place. Not that we were carded for drinks in our late 30's but at our table was a young lady that couldn't have been, at best, 1 day over 21. If I passed her on the street or had her in my business I would have guessed she was more like 16-17 years old. The young couple she was with were barely of age and you could tell by their attire and discussions but alcohol was flowing. The view was "AMAZING" but the experience was uncomfortable...not because of the place or staff, completely by the "type" of people that collect at this location. It's okay, we felt like out-of-towners so we left after paying our tab.

During my week in Seattle I tried a handful of roof decks, Pink Door, Frolic and The Nest was hands down the best. Get there a little before 5 and wait in line on a nice day, then grab one of the couches. The view is phenomenal and it gets blasted with sun. I was drinking ciders about $8 each, cocktails were about $14 each. Could have been worse but worth it for the view. You can see every major site!

Came here with the girlfriend. Drinks were pretty standard and the bartenders were friendly. They had a hiphop night and were playing some nostalgic hiphop. Liked the view and the vibe was mellow. They were short on seating and some decorations outside though. Would recommend coming here if you have reso.

I have visited The Nest twice and have not been disappointed. The view is the star. The cocktails are different and delicious. The appetizers are as well. This rooftop bar is hip and young but as a lady in my 50's...I still fit in!! Service was friendly and I love the "living room" feel of the couches facing the incredible view. I will bring all my out of town guests and family here to show off this amazing city.

The view is lovely, certainly, but it is quite crowded and there is very little seating. Even on a warm, clear day the balcony was enclosed in plastic sheeting which makes the view more blurry and obscured. Seating is limited and the bar service is slow. The cocktails were good, but tended towards either the sweet or harsh/overly boozy side (I prefer a more balanced drink).

Great Roof top experience. Fantastic view, even at night, when it's colder there are a couple of tables with a fireplace. Next to the terrace there in indoor place, with amazing views as well.

Wonderful spot to grab a bit to eat and a cocktail. The location is amazing and the view is hands down the best in Seattle. Love love love this place. Will be back the next time I am in Seattle.

I came here with my family to celebrate our youngest brother's 21st birthday. It had been on our list for a long time so we thought that this would be a good time to go. When you get up there, you know what you are paying for: the view. This place is ridiculously expensive. I would say between 6 people we had probably 12 drinks and our bill was $287!!!! Including the $50 they charge you to reserve a table, which I thought was a good idea at the time because when we arrive it was PACKED solid. After about an hour though it all cleared out so if you go after 6pm save yourself 50 bucks and just walk in. Aside from that, I do want to add in that our server was awesome and really attentive. I would say it is a good one time experience to see the views that Seattle really has to offer, but I can't say that I would go here again.

A nice place to stop and have an interesting cocktail after a day wandering around Seattle. The views were great and the crowd watchable :)

If you are in the area head over to Thompson to give this a try. Rooftop bars are all the rage in city hotels in major cities and this one offers great views from the indoor or outdoor portion of the bar. Craft cocktails are a bit pricey but worth at least one (drink slow) to take in the view.

This place is WONDERFUL! Went with friends for a guest DJ event (Talib Kweli!!!) and we all had a blast! Set up was perfect, drinks were yummy, and I cannot say enough great things about the staff!!!

drinks are a little expensive but its worth it to come up for the view and the staff are super friendly.

The Nest is obviously very popular - it was packed when we went there for drinks at 5p on a Wednesday. It was also very noisy, amplified by loud music which ramped up just as we found a place to sit down. Bartenders were slow, drinks expensive and small. Note that a 20% tip is included, even if staff fails to inform you if that. The view of the industrial landscape is interesting but doesn’t compensate for all of the annoyances. Once was more than enough.

We had a great time having cold beer with a fantastic view of the bay. Met some great folks at the communal tables that only helped add to a great evening. Highly recommend even if you aren't lucky enough to stay at the Thompson.

Top of the Thompson Hotel this is just a great place to relax. The elevator is limited access after a certain hour which I feel is great because it insures the guests stayin at The Thompson which is where the the Nest is located will be assured quiet and saftey, going to and from the rooms.

A friend and I went up to the top of the Thompson hotel for a quick drink before our dinner reservations. Sleek and stylish without being pretentious. Upon entering the bar, we were quickly greeted by the host Tyler. It was fairly busy and he quickly got us a table. Once we were seated our server Devon came by and helped us decide on drinks. His descriptions of the drinks were concise and accurate. All together it was a really nice experience matched with stellar views. I will certainly be back!

If you want a place to have a few drinks and see some beautiful sights in the late evening, this is the place for you. We had a party of 7 and only had a 20 minute wait. The view is stunning and the drinks were delicious!

We went here during an event that they were doing with a Talib Kweli DJ set. The place was crazy busy, even though it was on a Monday night. The DJ set itself was great, but what really set things apart was the service! The waiters and bartenders were all very warm and gracious, even with a bunch of people in their face. They didn't even blink when someone in our group ordered a Classic Whiskey Sour (which was done perfectly). I will definitely be back soon!

The Nest is a must visit rooftop in Seattle! We were lucky enough to grab a table during sunset on one of the last warm October days! The views are stunning and the location right in the heart of downtown makes it so convenient! I loved the Jasmine Paloma cocktail! It was so fresh and flavorful! Highly recommend the crab guacamole and the mushroom lettuce wraps. Both apps had so much flavor. It can be hard to get a table during sunset if you don’t have a reservation. Try and book a table early in advance, or if you’re staying at The Thompson Hotel they have separate reservations for guests

For anyone from out of town (Seattle), a stop at The Nest for a refreshment and to "take-in" the view of the Seattle waterfront.... you will not find a better location...... and the service is great!

My wife and I visited for drinks on my birthday. First off the view is stunning. The drinks aren't the most affordable in the area (about $15 per cocktail) but that's not the point of going there. It's almost over the top trendy and feels out of place in Seattle. It has a NYC vibe about it that could definitely put people off as being pretentious. That said, the drinks were good and I'd go back.

Such a great view… and delicious food and drinks! If only it weren’t so hard to get a seat on sunny Seattle days. 😉 I met friends here in May for an early evening soiree and ordered a few items from the menu to share: the poke and the summer vegetables. The food was delicious! On a sustainability note, the waitress brought disposable bamboo sporks and disposable chopsticks with our plates… which was so confusing to me. Reusable forks would be the best option given that the restaurant has a dishwasher. While bamboo grows quickly, there are still resources required to manufacture and ship these sporks and chopsticks, items which are used for less than 30 minutes. The water used to wash metal utensils is so much less – and the impact on our environment is also much less when we choose to reuse. Please consider making a sustainable change!

Heaters weren't working, so only a small area available. Great views, good drink options. Will try again in summer

We had friends in town and decided to go to The Nest rooftop bar for sunset and a drink. It was a complete mob scene but, still, a total blast. If you are a long-term planner, you can reserve a private area on the roof for your party by going online and making a reservation ahead of time. Overall, it is very fun if you don't mind crowds. Highly recommend!

On an absolutely glorious Friday afternoon, we took the elevator at the Thompson to its roof top bar called The Nest. Finding comfortable seats with a great view, I ordered a martini, a glass of wine, and a vegetable roll up. The drink was masterful, the wine elegant, and the food delicious. Service was efficient, warm, and on point. Prices were appropriate for the class and panache offered by the Nest. It is a "perfect" addition to the Seattle scene.

One of the best roof top bar in the city. I stayed at this hotel thompson for 4 days and everynight/ evening i went there for my drinks and for bar bites. Eevryday Lisa served me and she is amazing, sweetheart and the best. Tried pretty much all the cocktails in their menu and all of them were served in a proper glass with chilled temperature. Best chedder popcorn they have and pizza. Beautiful view from inside and outside also serves and has an arrangement of mid group for private events.

We were told that this was the place to catch a sunset and they were rights. It is a great place to do that. The only problem is that when you get up to the deck, it is packed. A huge line up at the bar and people everywhere. I was able to flag down a server who took my drink order and brought it to us instead of lining up. I guess that is what you get for 20% gratuity that is automatically added. The view was special. We had a drink, admired the sunset, took some photos and left. Too many people being people.

My paper plane drink was amazing and the entire staff was very attentive. The views are phenomenal, I can only imagine how nice this hotel is? I will be back! Robby was walking around making sure everything was good and he is very nice and accommodating.

The Nest was great! Great atmosphere, great view. There were tons of people when we arrived on a Sunday evening but we were still able to find some seating. We ordered a couple drinks plus the beef tartar which was great! My only recommendation would be to serve the tartar with crostini or something. It came simply on its own and I felt like it was missing an accompaniment of some sort. I’ve never had it just on its own...

Located on top of the Thompson hotel. Good selection of local beers. On a sunny day it gets quite warm, even in March. Most of all, it offers a great view of Seattle's waterfront.

We loved going here for drinks every night. The place for All 30-45 year olds to hand after work! Fun and relaxing!

I did not stay at the hotel. I went there to have a drink in the roof top. The view is fantastic. You see the mountain, the sea and the front side. Cocktails are great, served professionally The roof top is a place that gets filled in pretty quickly

This is a busy place and sitting looking out over Elliott Bay with all the lights tells you you're not in Kansas any more. Drinks are upscale and a 20% tip is added to the bill (pretty standard for most places in the area, so check your bill before you add a tip). Worth a look-see.

Great atmosphere and amazing views! Would definitely visit again. Drinks were great however a little expensive. Overall good little spot.

Just went to The Nest to celebrate a friends' birthday. When we arrived, the host at the bottom of the elevator was extremely rude and very full of himself. He made sure to point out to us how "lucky we were that they saved our reservation because we were 10 minute late" Yes we were, due to the traffic and we called to let them know. We also apologized as soon as we arrived but that did not stop him from being rude. Yes, the views are amazing! BUT it is not worth the prices you will pay at The Nest for the food and service you will receive. First of all, if I am going to go to a place that is going to charge as much as they do; do not put a cheap bright orange paper wrist band on me that I would get when I go clubbing. Our waitress was slow and provided us with no information. We had to ask for waters and side plates several times. My drink was empty so often, I could have easily ordered 2 more drinks but it was hard to find her. So in total I had 2 drinks....which I am very happy for because it was SO EXPENSIVE!!!!! A simple Vodka & Soda was $12.00 each. A couple of ppl got a bottle of wine, Three Rivers Chardonnay, Retails, (not cost) for 14.99 and they charged 65.00. The food menu is very limited, so do not expect a large variety and the plates are very small so expect to pay a lot and leave hungry. We ask for the bill. This is the crazy part! For 5 of us the bill was 350.00, Their was a $50.00 Special Event Room Rental. Yup 50 bucks charged for sitting on the couch that we were not made aware of when making the reservation. Then on top of that they charged 20% service charge on not only the F&B but on the $50.00 Special Event Room Rental which was a couch. So the gratuity was 53.00! Which all of this may have been fine but the service was so slow, and the drinks are weak. The food did taste great, but again the plates are so small. For example we paid $20.00 for beef skewers....3 of them! And they are not large skewers. Grilled prawns, you get one prawn per skewer and for 3 prawns, $16.00. Overall, yes The Nest has fantastic views, but you are going to get gouged and leave hungry. We left and went to the Pink Door, where we had a fantastic meal, great drinks, and a wonderful, attentive, knowledgable waiter who made our night.

If I lived in Seattle, I would be here every day! The view is probably one of the best in Seattle. The cocktails are fantastic! Such a great vibe! Trust me; go to the Nest!

Overrated!! Very pretentious and they have nothing to be pretentious about. View is the only thing worth going for. What bar of this notoriety has last call on a Friday night at 11:45? Server was nice but I like to make the call on whether the service warrants 20%.

Loved the place and atmosphere, drinks are nice too. Service was amazing , our server was so friendly and so anticipative. I couldn't catch his name ( I think it was David ? ) . I had a sore throat and he even brought me hot water with lemon. View was super over the waterfront and Seattle Eye. Costs of drinks are everywhere in nice bars located within hotels ( glass of wine 14$ , cocktails 16$+). It was a great experience.

We were fortunate to get a small table (guests of the hotel get priority) and we had a lovely afternoon. The cocktails were well balanced and who doesn't like a spiked popsicle!? They had a small selection of snackery (spiced mixed nuts 😋) but the food mostly was light fair (it's a bar foremost). I'm glad it was a semi-cloudy day as there isn't much shade. We would definitely visit again!

Came here on a glorious September summers afternoon enjoying the views, soaking up the rays and drinking delicious Rose with friends. The waiters were efficient considering it got extremely busy when people kicked off from work. A little pricey but totally worth it for the views.

Awesome view! I really had great time at the Nest! It was people sitting everywhere but you can join somebody on a table which was cool since is no room. Great service! Really relax ambiance! Great cocktails!

Stayed in this hotel so we thought about giving the Nest a try. Nice day there is limited seating so we picked a couch 🛋️ inside and took in the view of the harbour. Staff were friendly & checking that all is well. We had a cold beverages with couple of appetizers (which was pricey for what you get IMO). Got very crowded during our time so not really the best place.

Delicious food. Great presentation. Loved the staff. Just can't enough positive comments about this place. A must place to visit/dine.

Stuck in provincial and repressed Victoria and desperate to enjoy a sophisticated and cosmopolitan place, we made our way to the Nest in the Thompson Seattle. Holy hell - what a difference in cultures! This is a beautiful, sexy rooftop bar, that we sadly visited in the winter. We cannot imagine it in nice weather. Sure, the view is beautiful. But we stare at the ocean everyday, and a calm harbour is meh. But inside, is beautiful decor, modern furnishings, sleek metals and woods, and a variety of furniture (couches, chairs, bar stools) that can provide intimacy or access to good views throughout. Just entering the lobby and riding the elevator is a good experience. Look, it is pricey; you pay for the views and decor. But if you really want a nice date spot, or place to meet attractive, well-dressed and ethnically diverse people, this is it. The pacific northwest rarely sets standards in fashion (excess beards, baseball caps, tatts, and riot grrl wear abound), but this place is different. We will be back.

The Nest opens at 530 NOT 5. Waited until 5:30 for it to open. Hotel attendant forgets to unlock elevator. Finally get to the top, big line because they check every ID, even people in their 50s. Get seated order 2 different beers. 10 minutes later, waitress says they ran out of one. Ok, order the other. 10 minutes later, they bring my wife's out. 10 minutes later, I finally receive mine. It took 55 minutes from the time we entered the hotel at 5:18 to receive a drink Finally, they add a 20% gratuity onto the bill without telling you. Views are great

We went for cocktails and the view is amazing. The atmosphere is fun and lively and if it is a beautiful day you can sit outside and enjoy the weather, great drinks and view. Highly recommend to stop in.

The view is excellent, but very limited seating space when the outside tables are not available. One cocktail, one tap beer, one coke and one shrimp appetizer $60.00.

The drinks were tiny and expensive. The view was good but certainly not spectacular. But it was pretty crowded when we were there so plenty of people seem to like it.

This is a wonderful place to watch the sunset, and listen to hip music.... fun... not much in the way of foods to nibble on... but great drinks, music and service!!

Let's start with the obvious...the view is absolutely amazing! That's really all you'll get from the nest. The cocktails are unimpressive, the bartenders are nice enough but they don't appear to be creative or artistic. I wouldn't say this is the place to go for a craft cocktail but I can certainly say that you will pay the price for craft cocktails. Also, they include a 20% charge per check. I'd prefer to be the one to decide if the service warrants more or less than 20% tip.

Highly recommended with great views of The Sound. Like many places, service charge is already added so don't doubke tip!

This is a beautiful and classy place. There is a wait to get there, but if you're staying in the hotel you are able to go straight up! We were joined unexpectedly by additional relatives when we were there as hotel guests in the Thompson hotel. When I told the concierge our new guests were arriving, they not only made arrangements for them to join us at the Nest, they poured two glasses of champagne for me to give them when they got there! Very special service! Amazing view!

The atmosphere was great as well as the creative drinks. ....rooftop location was great but I can see how warmer temperature would make it mormore enjoyable

Just had drinks here, but they were really delicious albeit a bit pricey. The main reason to visit is to see the amazing view of pikes place and water!

Best location for drinks and view of Seattle water front! Love it here! Went twice while in Seattle, once for afternoon view and drinks and at night for sunset, spectacular view and good drinks and prices. The staff is amazing, especially Brad! Awesome vibe and not too crazy or loud, highly recommend.

View from the roof top bar is awesome. Nice wine selection. Good grilled skewers for snacking. Crowd was mixed with all ages. The staff was excellent

We had a nightcap at The Nest twice while staying at the Thompson just before the holidays. The bar was busy, mostly with larger groups, and pretty rowdy later in the evening, but we still received attentive, efficient service at the bar. The cocktails were excellent - lots of interesting spirits, and a very tasty agave-based drink with horchata and cinnamon was the highlight.

I was really looking forward to visiting the Nest, but I wound up being very disappointed. It wasn't all their fault, so I will be back to give the Nest a second chance....heres what happened. The Nest is a bar on top of the Thompson Hotel with fantastic views of the Puget Sound. The day I visited I would have loved to have known everything I just wrote down in that sentence, because I couldn't even find the place! My iPhone couldn't find it, I had no idea it was inside a Hotel and I didn't even know what a Puget Sound was! It's basically a harbor, so I will rename it "the Seattle harbor" for simplification....your welcome Seattle! My iPhone got me close and I was able to call the Nest using Trip Advisor. A friendly hotel employee guided me to the Thompson Hotel entrance and I was in the elevator within seconds. The view of "the Seattle harbor" is breathtaking! I was very impressed. The inside bar itself isn't to big, but they do have a very large patio with lots of huge tables...all full. I have to mention that the state of Washington was experiencing some horrible wild fires that day. The air quality was terrible and it was actually better to be inside. Their were some inviting empty sofas and chairs in the corner with floor to ceiling glass windows overlooking "Seattle Harbor"...heaven! I started to sit down with my companion and a sever barked "You can't sit there, it's reserved!". She might have been very nice about it, but it made me so mad that in my head I only remember this as being super rude. They should have let us sit there until someone showed up. For the record...nobody did showed up to claim this little sofa oasis the whole time we were there, super rude Nest! We sat at the end of the bar and ordered what I thought would be an interesting cocktail...it wasn't. The bartender was friendly and I'm sure I could have had her sweeten my drink up a bit, but by this time all the fun of what I though I was going to experience was gone. Not all their fault, just a bad time to visit. I will be back and give this place another try. Everybody else was having a blast!

We had The Nest as a meeting location for our group of about 20. We ate continental breakfast and a lunch sandwich buffet there. The lunch food in particular was very fresh and tasty, with high quality bread and meats for the sandwiches, and variety of leafy greens in the salad, and some addictive brownies. Service was excellent--the beverage bar was kept fully-stocked and the breakfast food and our dirty dishes removed and lunch set up very smoothly and quietly, without interrupting our gathering. AND, the view is just great, watching the many ferries and other boats coming and going in the harbor.

Went to "The Nest", which is located on the top of the Thompson Hotel, for a nightcap. Don't remember much of the night except that the views of the harbor were spectacular. Read some reviews that the lines were long and waiters arrogant? There was no line we got there, around 8:30 pm., and a very short line when we left around 10ish. We were first served by a waitress and then a waiter, both were extremely friendly and efficient. "The Nest" is a must stop for a panoramic view of the harbor.

Great rooftop bar with lots of seating and fantastic view of Puget Sound. Just beware that with the mandatory 20% tip and hefty Seattle taxes every cocktail is $20.

Beautiful place for a drink! Expensive of course, so only stayed for one. I was on a solo trip and the staff were absolutely wonderful and accommodating. Luckily I was able to grab a seat outside near sunset because the views are spectacular— but it filled up fast!!! They do have fire pits outside to combat the chill. My drink was delicious!

Stopped here on a Friday afternoon after walking the city in the rain. Asked for Spanish coffees. Even though this was not an item on the menu, they made it happen and they were delicious. Views were incredible and service super friendly. Yes a bit pricey but worth it for the view and ambiance.

You can't do better than this rooftop hotel patio with unobstructed views of the Seattle harbor, Puget Sound and, on a clear day, the Olympic Mountains. When you step off the elevator, you're greeted with a lush "living wall" of plants. The walls, otherwise, are glass. The outdoor area has fire pits and both tables and lounging areas. (They will cover the exterior area in the winter.) If there's going to be a spectacular sunset when you are in Seattle, head up here in time to have the best seat in town.

This is the place to go to have a drink and check out the views. Cocktail menu is impressive and decor is very nice. They sell skewers off a grill which is a cool idea and there are two bars to help with getting guests drinks quickly. This is the place to watch the sunset on the Puget Sound bit also a bit of scene later on. Sometimes a line but the host downstairs is pleasant and will do her best to get you up there quickly. Will I Go Back ? Yes. This is the place to take out of town guests or perfect for work happy hour. Go here!

I'm all for craft cocktails and have spent many weekends in Las Vegas purchasing costly craft cocktails. However, the prices here seemed a bit extreme. Our bill for two drinks with a tip was $49. Also, I struggled with the menu deciding what to drink...not because they all sounded delicious, but because I had no idea what several ingredients were and had to ask. I'm sure the view is beautiful at sunset, however it was dark and raining when we were there. Our waitress was very nice and extremely helpful!

The Nest has a great selection of craft cocktails, wine and beer at an unbeatable location downtown. I recommend this bar to all of my out of town guest and they love it. The prices are a bit higher, expect to pay 15+ for a cocktail but ingredients and quality are top notch. Service is friendly and there is outdoor seating year round. The Nest can get crowded so come earlier in the evening! Dress is casual to upscale.

We held our March networking event at The Nest and were a little worried to see how the weather would play out. We were so fortunate they have a covered outdoor area, so even though the evening was gloomy, we had a fabulous time. Anna & Ashley made the event so easy to plan, and our attendees raved about the venue. Thank you for making our event such a success! Can't wait to come back. On a personal note- this is the bar I always take my out of town visitors to. It's such a highlight of the city and is really a remarkable view.

Overall great music, atmosphere and view. The drinks are expensive but they taste great. You're paying for the music and the breathless view of the city and the water.

Stopped in on a Tuesday afternoon happy hour. The one poor waitress had way too many tables to cover. She was literally running to even begin to keep up. We waited for service for at least 20 minutes. This is definitely a management problem.

very friedly place. In food on skewers and eclectic cocktails Awesome view, especially at sunset or after dark

This is a great spot for a drink after work, or before dinner. We tried to get in after dinner and it was so crowded we could not find a place to stand, much less sit.

On top of the Thompson hotel a very good bar which offers mouth-watering cocktails, an amazing view across the city (harbor/public market) and very good service. If you´re in Seattle, visit the bar and enjoy, definitely a must visit.

Very suitable name for this cool, trendy rooftop bar. You take an elevator up to the roof from within the Thompson Hotel. It opens to a small but classy bar with trendy decor, including full length windows to look out and admire the views. One glass wall opens to an outdoor patio full of couches and tables that overlook an amazing view of the harbour and cityscape below. It was gorgeous when night fell and the lights came on. There are only light snacks on the menu, but a wide selection of wines and cocktails. Yes they are pricey; but you usually have to pay for such a nice venue. The cheapest glass of wine was $10.00, which is not bad at all.

Ordered 2 drinks $39 in total, (they take your card when you place the order, in this day and age they shouldn’t be taking your card surely) While we were having our drinks, we got a notification from our bank that $51.64 had been taken! 20% gratuity plus tax on top. We only stayed for the one drink. A few hours later we had a further notification saying $99.32 had been taken. We are in the process of querying this. Have just read a previous review that this had happened to someone else. Also disgusting that the hotel group takes 3% of the tip!!!
Great views
The views were great and the food was tasty. It can be cool (staff gave us blankets which we were glad of) on the patio but it is covered so you stay dry.
