My husband and I were staying at the Westin for a conference and decided to try their happy hour. We went to several over the weekend and this was by far our favorite. The bar and restaurant have a great cozy atmosphere. The food was amazing. My husband ordered shrimp and grits and it was delicious. I'm normally not a fan of grits but I loved this dish! We also had calamari and fish tacos that were equally delicious. What really made the evening besides the great food and ambience, was the amazing staff and service. The bartenders were personable and fun and one of the managers, Lisa Walters came over and introduced herself. They were all great and it just made for a perfect evening.

Delicious! Had lunch here with a coworker/friend, and we both loved it. The Seafood chopped salad was great, with lots of good seafood like shrimp, crab, etc. Ceviche was quite good, too. Friend had the calm chowder and really enjoyed it. Very nice atmosphere, nice casual dress for day is good, with probably a little dressier being appropriate for dinner. Staff was attentive without hovering, and knew the menu well. Highly recommend.

Living in Phoenix, I always seek out seafood in other cities I visit :) On a recent business trip to Dallas, I was staying near the Galleria, so decided to try The Oceanaire. I loved it! It had an excellent and extensive variety of fresh seafood. I wound up ordering the chicken fried lobster because that sounded so unique. It was served with grits and was delicious. The restaurant decor was quiet, classy and the service was high quality.

Exceptional service and breadth of seafood was among the best. Wife had the stuffed flounder which I thought was exceptional but she said was slightly overdone. I had the Maine scallops which were good but for $40 I expect more than 5 average sized scallops. Oyster selection was very good. Overall it was a ver good experience, just be prepared for the sticker shock.

Fresh fish and great service. I’m not a seafood eater so had the petite filet and the taste and cook were exceptional. The halibut t-bone special was prepared flawlessly

First time to visit here and definitely will not be the last. Everything was top shelf! Service was excellent and the lobster mac was awesome!

My family visited Dallas for the Seahawks v Cowboys Wild Card Game. While there, we enjoyed lunch at Oceanaire. Our server was Ms Sam, the bartender from Louisiana. She prepared the perfect margarita, and was super kind, warm and friendly. Our food was delicious—best shrimp and grits. My 4 year old son was exhausted from our morning flight to Dallas, so he slept the entire time we were at Oceanaire. Sam was so kind to not only wrap his food for us, she also wrapped his drink so it wouldn’t leak while we shopped in the mall. It’s the attention to the small things that matter most, and we were most appreciative of her southern hospitality.

Generally very disappointing, had to stand up and get a waiter to come by at least on 3 different occasions, the first service of bread was stale and obviously outdated, the seafood gumbo had 2 tiny fish with apparent sausage, told the chowder was mainly potato. Main selection poor, farmed fish with poor taste , too spicy , guess to hide the poor taste. Dessert was passable. Waiter never mentioned happy hour half-price drinks and seemed disinterested. Have been there before and generally feel overpriced , corporate restaurant menu now not matching past experience. In my opinion, seem more interested in bottom-line profit rather than pleasing customer.

Been here a few times, osyters are always fresh and nice. Service is expected as professional and attentive. Never had a bad experience here, the manage were very polite. Food is good, Waiter gave great advice. There are many choices around town for seafood and this place is not too shabby!

Oceanaire was my preferred Seafood place for amny years. The atmosphere is almost like the dinninng room in a cruiseship. The service is mostly great to impecable. When they get crowded with a group in their upstarirs backroom and you get the upstairs terrace service can fall apart. Food usually is top but I have seen kitchen get overwhelmed.

We went to Oceanaire last night for my husbands birthday and it was really great. We had been one time years ago but decided to try it again last night. The biggest problem is parking. My husband won’t valet so if we can’t get a spot out front he hates how far we have to park. The service with Anna was really good. She was very pleasant and explained every menu item. She didn’t rush us took our time knowing it was a birthday. A friend of ours sent a raw seafood tower which was really good. We all enjoyed it. Everyone had some kind of fish and one person had the filet minion. The sides are ala carte and enjoyable. You have to try the dessert OMG they are huge. We all really loved the baked Alaska. Very fun to have set on fire table side. We will be back. They helped make Johns birthday very special. Thank you to the restaurant for the free dessert for birthday boy and all saying happy birthday to him.

If you are in the mood for an over the top Seafood experience, then this is the place to dine. The ambience is very "active" or almost noisy to some people. That is the sound of everyone having a good time and enjoying this fabulous seafood. All of the fish is fresh every day and the menu changes daily based on what fresh seafood is available. Fantastic Halibut with stuffed crab meat was the latest delicacy. Of course great seafood is not cheap so don't come in expecting to have a $10 entrée, they don't exist here. However, you get what you pay for!! Wonderful food and service.

A group of us stopped in here for happy hour after our conference ended for the day. There was definite potential for great drinks/eats but the extreme long waits to get the attention of a bartender deterred us from having more than 1 drink. While were there we watched several folks walk back out since they were unable to get a drink. While I think the menu looks intriguing, I would have a hard time recommending this to others.

The ambiance great the food average at best!! We were not impressed with the food calamari bland and tasteless supposed to be grilled but it was fried ! The main meal was alright nothing to brag about. Small portions for the amount they charge.

Usually I find that hotel dining rooms are not really the best restaurants around. Their customers are only there for a few days, and then they are gone. The Oneanaire Seafood Room inside the Westin Hotel at the Dallas Galleria is a great restaurant for any type of seafood. (The menu changes daily. Has many similarities to Legal Seafood, a Boston seafood company.) As others have pointed out, a relish tray and warm sour dough bread was brought out with my seafood gumbo. (very fresh with just enough spice. Similar to what I have had in New Orleans.) A number of people around the restaurant had items from the Raw Bar (large selection of oysters, etc.). I decided to try the Southwestern Style Lobster Roll. Great choice with shoestring potatoes. A little more spice to it when compared to the standard Maine Lobster Rolls, but an excellent option in this area. Extremely fresh with lots of lobster meat. I plan to return to try a number of their "Simply Prepared" fresh fish. Great servers who are very knowledgeable about the menu. Pricing is comparable to most fresh seafood restaurants.

I had the Chicken fried lobster. I wasn't a big fan, we told our server that it was overcooked but he didn't seem too bothered or offer to replace it. I wouldn't go back again to be honest

Oceanaire is a fish food lover' paradise. It has an excellent selection with fantastic side dishes. The wine list is plainly superb and caters for all. The service is excellent and complementary with what to expect at a fine dinning restaurant. The restaurant has a very well stocked bar. Those who are not fish eaters can also select excellent steaks. I highly recommend this Dallas restaurant.

This place is top-notch: very attentive and knowledgeable service, fresh seafood, excellent preparation by master chefs. Don’t expect this restaurant to be cheap (expect to spend $50-$75 per person). However, you are getting your money’s worth. The waiters in this restaurant know their job. They know how to ask your preferences and give excellent advice. They have no problem pointing out which of the dishes would be very good on this particular day (normally due to fresh catch), and which would be average. Dallas being not that close to the coast, the staff at Oceanaire knows how to advice people who are not that familiar with “that seafood thing”. My dinner that evening was the mixed grill, which had some excellently prepared scallops, succulent shrimp, and a small (thankfully) lobster tail that was just delicious. An assortment of appetizers and side dishes shared at the table allowed me to sample the crab cakes (really good!), the asperagus (ok), the grilled veggies (excellent) and the deep fried scampi (what you would expect). Some friends on the table had the “chicken fried lobster tail” - essentially deep fried lobster (there is no chicken in this dish). I still think doing that to fresh lobster meat should count as a sacrilege, but my friends loved the dish. Highly recommend this place!

the high trip advisor rating of this restaurant is really justified.....fresh fish at its best in a beautiful setting.....usually do not dine in a hotel (this is in the WESTIN).....but gave it a try....truly amazing...menu printed on a daily basis!!!!! based on what fresh fist they get.....staff very professional and helpful with recommendations.......you want good fish.....its the place to go in Dallas.....they take resrvations

Went for Christmas Day dinner. A little overpriced but had a nice dinner. Good service. Had clam chowder and redfish. Redfish at $41 was a little overpriced but was good. Chowder was very good.

We stopped by the restaurant during our stay at the Westin Galleria. We had a hard time ordering because everything looked so good. The staff was very friendly and constantly checked on us to see if everything was okay. Although the prices were a little steep, it was so worth it.

Overall this is a nice place for a seafood dinner - a chain that I think would be the seafood equivalent to Capitol Grill, which is good. I recently had a frustrating experience where I split the entire tab with business colleague and the two checks came back about $21 more than the price of it not being split, and not because of a split fee. After we spotted the error, the server agreed "Oh, yes, that is weird, let me see about this". The server asked his manager for help, manager said "Sorry there's no way to fix that, it's impossible, so here's some extra drinks (that we didn't ask for or want). I said, that's nice but I don't want to pay more. He insisted there was no way to fix it, but we all know this can be done. Sure enough, the server came back 10 mins later with it split properly and the amount was correct. But he put us through an awkward "I know better than you" moment that ruined an otherwise nice dinner.

Nice touch with the relish tray while waiting for apps. The calamari , tuna poke and crudo very good and the crab cake was awesome. The caprese salad was very good. The raw bar looked great, wish I had the time to give it a try. The chicken fried lobster was good but I think a lighter breading would have served it better, and the grits were great. The house cab is wonderful, great berry hit. The servers were helpful, pleasant and attentive.

Delish! Super fresh seafood. The sauces are over the top and the oysters were also excellent!! Server started in the weeds but turned it around quickly and delivered excellent t service. Would recommend to anyone who loves seafood!!!

We had a big family dinner party (10 + 3 kids) at the restaurant for Mother’s Day. They sat us upstairs because we were a big party. The restaurant was hot. We called the manager to complain about the A/C and they said it’s not working well. They didn’t even apologize or offer any nice words to make us feel they cared. We were a big party and would be too late/hard to find another restaurant so we stayed. We ordered the food and most of the dishes were cold.. the manager ignored us and never came back to check on us. We were all sweaty throughput our dinner and couldn’t wait to pay and leave. Very bad experience and management. Sana

We occasionally come here when our family wants a nice seafood meal and dining experience. We are Landry’s Select Club members, so earning points and getting reward discounts is a bonus. But tonight’s dining experience was a little bit of a miss. We had 615p reservations and were seated promptly. Our server Thomas was readily available and took care of us. I ordered the halibut and it was delicious, my wife had the Coho salmon and she thought it was just ok. Our kids had fried shrimp and fish from the kids menu. I had a Oceanaire 2.0 martini, which was not the drink I was thinking of that I had ordered on a previous visit, that our waiter thought I had wanted. I described it as “tropical”, eg Mai Tai or Blue Hawaii, he should have told me what I was getting was a martini. Wife had a glass of Chardonnay. We ordered Baked Alaska for dessert and our waiter drenched the cake with the brandy flambé to the point where the cake was soaked so it tasted like pure alcohol, which was very unappetizing to us, especially the kids. And there were a few utensils and plates during the evening that didn’t seem clean. On the positive side, the waitstaff constantly kept our water glasses filled. With a $25 off reward, our bill came to $180, with $38 tip, total $218.

I have been to this place many times over the years . Dined for dinner & many Happy Hrs . The food has never disappointed !! We like to do the HH @ the bar . We have asked Christian ( the Head chef ) to do a special plate for us & he never disappoints . The food is fresh & tasty . Exapand your pallet & try the chef crudo or ask him for sashimi scallops (my favorite ) . No restaurant is perfect with service , but really , ask for what you want and they will deliver. I am one that belives a menu is just for suggestions .. lol .i will definatly be back & sundays are $ oysters ( not gulf ) .. 😊

Ocean paradise in Dallas? Oyster tastings from different seas? Sexy distinguished cruiselining? Shellfish tower? What could possibly go wrong? ABSOLUTEY NOTHING Only Tom Hanks in Castaway sucks on fresher fish....it's flown in daily! If you have a torrid love affair with seafood as I (could sit here all day just to smell the ocean air) then you must eat here. I apologize but my thirst for the ocean did not get past the oysters and shellfish, which I highly recommend. Shellfish tower included lobster, shrimp, oysters, crab. While all completed my existence, the crab was the best tasting crab I have ever cracked. Cooked fish dishes included many choices that would have exploded my head. Perhaps next ocean outing...but if they are still having the $30 bottle of wine and dozen oysters, I may stop at that headliner. Tasting briny and shiny oysters from different seas is exciting as they all have remarkably distinct flavors and attributes. Lunch and happy hour menu are great values!

I will admit it has been over a decade since we last celebrated at Oceanaire- mainly because it’s a good 45 min drive from where we live and it’s reserved for a pricey occasion, We choose to return and rekindle the fondness of fresh seafood. The ambiance had changed a bit - very dark for a Sunday early dinner. Wait staff is as pleasant- water constantly refilled - very attentive. The food was lack luster - sourdough bread with creamy butter & a relish tray arrived. We were starving and ordered several appetizers; fried calamari, steamed mussels and lobster cakes. Our daughter loved the calamari- mussels were very good but the lobster cakes tasted out of the box with a crispy coating and very little flavor (sad face) We split the Cobb salad - generous portion with cool & creamy dressing - loved! My husband ordered the swordfish- it was ok - a little tough- mash potatoe side was creamy & tastey, asparagus was not so good and was covered in cheese (not necessary) The rest of us did not order an entree, it’s pricey here and I was disappointed so why order more? The desserts were a hit! We were celebrating a birthday so Oceanaire treated one; we had the baked Alaska (fancy), raspberry sorbet for the vegan & a root beer float - all delicious! Sadly, we will most likely not return. They need to dust off the old and rekindle the fun, vibrant atmosphere it once was with incredibly fresh and unique seafood offerings.

You absolutely must try the chicken fried lobster! Such an innovative twist on traditional lobster. I ordered my meal online and did not eat in the restaurant. Only complaint, when picking up my to-go order the bartender wasn’t very friendly. It was pretty obvious that my order was waiting at the bar right behind her. I paid online so all she had to do was hand me the bag. I felt like an annoyance. After waiting five or so minutes, she finally handed me my bag and I was on my way.

Racist place blacks are not welcome! Myself and my fiance arrived at the restaurant about 7 p.m. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and asked if we had a reservation. We did not. Then she asked us would we like to sit at the bar which was odd. It was odd because no one was seated at the bar, and we felt pressure to sit at the bar versus the dining room like they were trying to ostracize us. When we informed her that we wanted to sit in the dining room she goes and gets I believe to be a manager. In the midst of them whispering to each other, I hear the hostess say I don't think we'll be able to seat them and then the manager says it's okay they can wait. So the manager says to us that they are at 25% capacity. They will be able to seat us at about 8:15 8:30, but we are more than welcome to sit at the bar. Now due to covid-19 I am well aware of the 25% rule so if you aren't allowed to have over 25% of customers in your business. Why is it okay for us to sit at the bar? Also why was the Caucasian couple who was waiting behind us seated with no problem? I waited by the door to listen in on the conversation between the hostess and the couple. They walked in and said they would like a table for two and was seated with no problem. No reservation. It was my birthday I was so disappointed. If u are African American don't spend your money here. They are racist.

I like to meet friends here for happy hour, you get the same ambiance and great food for less cost. The location connected to the Westin and Galleria (and my house!) makes it very convenient.

The food was outstanding. Had the crab cakes and they were amazing. Better yet was the bread pudding for dessert. Service was excellent also.

It has been a while since visiting Oceanaire and was glad to see that it is just as good as it always was. I love the subtle "ocean" theme in its design and decor. Of course, seafood was my first choice. Their stuffed flounder Florentine was amazing. Paired with the strawberry arugula salad and Martini, it hit the spot. My wife's wedge salad and crab meat cocktail were too large for her so I was lucky to finish them for her! Our waitress, Tina, surprised us with a birthday Baked Alaska which we thoroughly enjoyed. Can't wait to go back.

Good value, great food and service. I was delighted to see The Oceanaire had swordfish on the menu--I ordered and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good wine list, too.

Wonderful seafood and steaks. We have a business meeting in Dallas every year and make it a point to come here each year. The staff is very friendly and helpful. And everything tastes great!

We did not have a reservation after getting to town late but the manager found us a table, we ordered a bottle of Italian White “Gaja, Vistamare”. Ahhhh.... was my expression. We enjoyed the atmosphere. We love a finely prepared meal but are unassuming people. I ordered the grilled Mahi and my daughter ordered blue crab cakes. This meal was cheerfully satisfying. No desert needed!

Arriving to the galleria from the airport with my wife we had a excellent lunch We have this trip every year in December for the Christmas dinner at the corporate office This time we had the oysters, scallops and calamari We share all and vboth had a wonderful lunch Highly recommend restaurant It is expensive but very good

This is by far one of the most phenomenal seafood restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining at. My husband is a vegetarian and they went out of their way to create custom dishes on the fly just for him. I had lobster, scallops and shrimp. They were cooked to perfection and you could tell by the flavor it was incredibly fresh. Drawn butter stayed heated over a flame. The corn casserole side dish was orgasmic. The server was very knowledgeable on the food. She also let my husband mix and match "side dishes" that were "non meat" in half sized portions so he had plenty to eat along with the pasta dish they created for him. A chef that can create something fresh on the fly is a damn good chef. The place was immaculate and the food was presented and plated beautifully. Clearly they hire and train very experienced service staff. Top notch in every way. I can't wait to go back. Better than what I've had in California and Florida. Kudos to this place, worth every dime. It was very romantic and the craft cocktails were nice and strong :) Want to impress someone? This is the place to bring them :)

Enjoyed halibut and snapper and sole as well as a large bread pudding desert. Check for bones and we found several. Delicious. Choose carefully with the wine list as they have some very expensive wines. They were out of the first and second choices we asked for.

This is a special date night place. The fish is brought in daily, so the menu changes based on what is brought in. It is expensive, but the food it SO delicious. It is worth it for a special occasion.

Tried for first time during DFW Restaurant Week. All in all disappointed! First the good: nice quiet setting. Good service. Appreciated the free pickles, etc. , good bread. The not so good: pedestrian clam chowder, entre if surf and turf very pedestrian! On a scale of 0 to 10, I’d be hard pressed to give it a 7. Should be better at these prices!! I’ll not return!

“Pretty damn good” exclaimed our friends at the conclusion of dinner. Eating out on New Year’s Eve can be hit or miss, and our experience was a definite home run! The restaurant and bar were bustling when we were promptly seated for our 7 pm reservation. Our server Thomas and the other wait staff were attentive throughout without making us feel rushed. Colossal crab meat cocktail and spicy tuna poke were nice starters. Entrees included surf & turf, simply prepared scallops, and stuffed flounder “florentine”. To our amazement, the busy kitchen even accommodated a special request for fried scallops (not on the menu). “Good as the ones I’ve had on Cape May (maybe even better)”. The filet, while it looked like a burnt mess, was actually the “best I’ve ever had”, flavorful and cooked to perfection. Needless to say, we cleaned our plates. Several dessert choices were already gone by the time we were ready to order. A super large serving of warm chocolate cake with fudge and caramel sauces, served with whipped cream and vanilla ice cream (and a special request for cinnamon ice cream as well), more than made up for our initial disappointment. This was not a budget meal, but definitely worth the splurge and a great ending to 2016!

Oceanaire has always been a special place for our family's celebrations but, post Covid, they have slipped both in the kitchen and in service. This was a celebration dinner for my wife's birthday and our son's engagement. Despite warnings from friends that Oceanaire is no longer the top notch destination for food and service it was, we stuck with loyalty and went anyway. the quality of both service and kitchen were disappointing. We understand the 30% increase in pricing from pre-Covid however, loca favorites like Al Biernet's and Chamberlains maintained their staff, service and quality and continue to deliver. What was to have been a special occasion was, instead, a disappointment. I hope Oceanaire is able to return to its previous level of excellence but we will probably not return to find out.

I simply enjoy the great customer service and food here. The oysters and seafood are fresh and tasteful. The drinks are very good and the customer service from the staff is impeccable. Being a Landry's Select member is shown there with no wait in line and premium service. On my birthday I received a birthday card from the staff and free dessert. I would highly recommend this restaurant and our server, Phillip, was detailed and attentive to our needs. The manager came to check on us and wish us a great evening. Great for special occasions, dating, and small or large groups. Business meeting would do well here as well. They have Happy Hour specials on Sunday.

Wife and I sat at the bar for the one dollar oysters on the half shell, they were small, but we had just been to New Orleans. Bartenders were great, knew how to make a great martini. They have Pappy Van Winkle. 25 year! $300 for one once. Like I said, the martinis were great. Both the New England clam chowder and the Lobster Mac and cheese were the best, you can not go wrong on these selections. This is a seafood place, and they do things right.

This place had amazing reviews and I agree! We had a party of six and every person absolutely loved the food! I had the crab cakes which were great and the service was perfect I highly recommend to all

Have dined here many times and still can't get enough! Every time I visit Dallas, eating at The Oceanaire is a must! Their variety of fresh seafood options is most impressive! Atmosphere and service is top-notch. One person in our group had an allergy issue and our server was extremely knowledgeable. You will not be disappointed!

This restaurant is located inside the Westin Galleria Hotel. It was crowded both nights I was in the hotel on a Thursday and Friday. The bar scene was lively. I enjoyed the gumbo, shrimp cocktail and we split a bone in halibut which was excellent. Service was good. Fun, lively restaurant.

OCEANAIRE SALTS are yummy with Oceanaire's special dipping sauce (best I have ever had)! They have a large selection of oysters. The bartender was fun and makes a great cocktail!

Restaurant on ground level of hotel I am staying which made access very easy. Waiter was extremely helpful in helping us select oysters, which were outstanding. Then ordered the Maine Scallops as my main course. They were good as well. I travel to Dallas frequently and when I think of catch of the day i think about something that goes “moo.” However this is a great seafood restaurant with a very broad menu

Lisa, the GM was a superb host to our visit. We enjoyed a bottle of Pino Blanc which is hard to find anywhere and the crab cake were top of the list. Great atmosphere for catching up with a dear friend or a date night.

The Food at Oceanaire Seafood Room was very excellent.. The Service was excellent. The restaurant was extremely COVID safe. We enjoyed our dining experience.

All staff were awesome. Service was perfect. We had shrimp pasta with the freshest shrimp and pasta that was seasoned wonderfully. The lobster mac and cheese was too much too eat, but was prepared perfectly. The chopped salad was fresh and tasty. The chocolate/mocha moose for dessert was amazing. This is the second time for a visit here. It is just difficult to find a better place.

Average at best. Thought it would be great from the setting and look of the fresh sea food but was disappointed. Took seat at bar - ordered what sounded like an amazing scallop dish. The flavors of the dish were great BUT the scallops so gritty had to send them back. No one offered to remake it which was disappointing. Just offered to get me something else. No apology from Chef or manager. Expected more given their prices Will not return.

The caviar amazing. The crab cake was a 8/10z. I had the fried lobster and it did not disappoint! For dessert I enjoyed the cheesecake and OMG the purée mango sauce on was everything!! The service was nice. I tried a few drinks and they were ok and overpriced as expected but I had a great time. The decor looks like a cruise ship so it doesn’t feel like you’re in the Galleria at all.

There were four in our party for dinner . All of us returned within 4 weeks from a vacation in Maine_lobster country. Oceanaire was running a special 2# er for $35.00. We started with a Caprese Salad. It was fair . Mozzarella was tasteless and the tomatoes were quartered in chunks. We all had to admit that the lobsters were pretty good considering they were not from sea to table. The meat was tasty & tender. We shared the zucchini 7 squash casserole and for desert an ice cream ball with hot fudge & walnuts, cherries & whipped cream. Our server was pleasant and efficient and overall a good dining experience.

Such a beautiful setting in Dallas' Westin Hotel in The Galleria! The setting and atmosphere were both superb! We enjoyed the stuffed founder with brussel sprouts and the fabulous chicken fried lobster with cheese grits! Wow!! Dessert was a wonderful macaroon martini with s real macaroon floating in the top!

The chicken fried lobter was to die for. Also quites pleasant were the massachusett raw oysters. It was a little busy for a thursday night but our waiter was quick and knowledgable. Over all it was wonderful. We well be going back in april when we are in town again. I cant wait!

Took a work team and spouses here to celebrate a win. They printed a congratulations on the menu to our team. Our waiter was funny and smart - perfect service. Oysters were excellent as was the fried (!) lobster appetizer. Cocktails were very good. No one had a complaint. Great ambiance as well.

Really! you accept reservations at 9:15pm and last call at 9:50pm... waiter blames it on OpenTable... really! Before we were informed of course ordered our meals... Management should be true or respect hours. Any way 3 stars because food was good! Lobster great, shrimp good, oysters fabulous! Oh and the truffle fries worth it! Any way the food saved the night!

Superior to most hotel eateries. Very fine dining experience. Professional service, classy environs.

We had dinner here on New Year's Eve Eve and it was delicious. My husband always goes with the waiters choice and they are yet to steer him wrong.

Atmosphere is great, sophisticated, noisy enough to be private but not too loud. Food was good, but not great but definitely not $150 for couple value.

Spent Christmas Eve here for dinner out and enjoyed our meal. We did a blackened fish special with crawfish served over mashed potatoes as well as our customary crab cake appetizer. Even though the restaurant was busier than usual we were seated quickly, service was great and the food was delicious as always.

I don't typically eat fish, but the fish here is SO FRESH, even I eat it. They change their menu daily based on what is brought in fresh. Definitely worth eating here for a special night out.

Enjoyable evening at a great high-end seafood restaurant. Nice wine list although it leans too heavily on California. Shared a crab cake appetizer and Caesar salad, both of which were large shareable sized portions. Entree was Maine scallops in a sweet pea and corn risotto, along with a sharable side of asparagus. All were excellent. Finished off with a peanut butter pie. Solid waitstaff and good, always a good experience.

If you wish to be made to feel inferior and overpay for mediocre food, this is the place for you. I was visiting family from New York and they wanted t treat me to a special meal. Unfortunately this was anything but with a massive dose of attitude. We ordered a bottle of wine, upon sampling it was not good. And how did the snotty waiter respond "so you want to take it home with you?" Seriously? When we insisted on a replacement, he begrudgingly offered the second choice in the price fix menu. We had 3 apps, 4 entrees and 2 desserts. The food was at best bland, stuffed flounder may have been a substitute fish that was premise and frozen. Both people who ordered it, just ate the stuffing. Shrimp scampi was overly garlicky and buttery with over cooked shrimp. Mani mani was well grilled and the small side of asparagus was the best. With less than half the bottle of wine consumed, we asked to take the rest home. The cork had been clearer and the waiter ignored the request. We had to get the manager to get a cork. I have been treated to great restaurants in the DFW area over the years, there are many fantastic ones. This was the worst experience in quite a while at any resturant. Leave this one to the captive hotel guests.

No better choice for me to enjoy a birthday dinner than the Oceanaire Seafood room since I am pescatarian and eating out can get challenging at times, this restaurant was perfect. I made a reservation for a group of ten people weeks in advance, and when we arrived, the restaurant had decorated the table for me with some candles. The food was wonderful, and all of my guests left satisfied, and we ordered a big key lime pie as my bday cake!

Stopped in for late lunch after expolring/shopping the Galeria Mall, and got myself a seat in the bar. I started things off with a "Patronarita" margarita and the "Ceviche Mixto" which both went well together. In keeping the seafood theme going, I then ordered the Crispy Fried Calamari which came with deep fried jalapeño's...not sure if it was normal or because I told the bartender that I loved spicy foods but either way they were great! I had to try the grilled asparagus since my Mom always tells me to eat my veggies and it was well worth it. The atmosphere is dimly lit, but not so much you can't see across the room. Friendly staff and an enjoyable experience all around.

On July 21, 2018, we went to Oceanaire at the Galleria. Normally, we like the chain. We also have a waiter we like. So, we made reservations to sit in the section of that waiter. The restaurant apparently has a new manager, who did not look at his reservations before seating people. He then could not figure out how what section the waiter served. Finally after 40 minutes we sat to eat. The kitchen was very slow despite the restaurant not being very crowed. The food was cold. We decided to pass on deserte because it was then 9:30. The valet could NOT find the car. We waited for 45 minutes until the valet with the car keys came back. Our friend who drove took back his keys and found his car. There was no event at the Westin galleria What would is frightening is what would have occurred if there were a party. We might still be there. Nothing like waiting 45 minutes in 100+ degrees

What a great restaurant! The drinks were perfect, the service was fabulous, the food was great, the ambiance was very nice. The butter pecan old fashioned was awesome. We enjoyed the oysters Rockefeller for appetizer. We didn’t care for the whole fried fish as an entree, which the server took back & replaced w/ another. No charge for the first. We did enjoy the flounder Florentine & would definitely order again. We will be making a return trip soon!

Oceanaire is a great experience. We've been several times and the service and food are always excellent. We particularly like the crab cakes and the lobster mac and cheese. My wife had the dover sole and said it was excellent. The only downside is the cost. But, if you are going to pay alot for a meal, this one is worth it.

Enjoyed birthday dinner here with the family. Made a reservation on Open Table and we’re seated immediately upon arrival. Waitstaff were prompt and attentive, so we never had to wait very long for someone to come along and ask if we needed anything. The calamari included breaded and fried pepper chips, all perfectly crisp and served with tasty dipping sauces. We all enjoyed our dinner selections which included a good portion of lobster, crab and/or shrimp in each dish. Yes, it’s a bit pricey but you can expect a five star dining experience from start to finish.

We went here on a Saturday night for an early Valentine's day dinner. We are both seafood lovers so we were very hopeful that the fish would be as fresh as advertised. Our server told us that the restaurant receives fresh fish daily, but I don't think they receive all fish daily. To start I must say it is a bit hard to find if you park in the Galleria parking and enter through the mall. If you enter at the Westin and do valet parking it is considerably easier. Having lived on the West coast for several years my expectations were high. We started with half a dozen Blue Point oysters and in my opinion they were the high point of the meal. Very fresh, very tasty. Fresh horseradish was a great addition. At $4 each they are not cheap. We then split a shrimp cocktail, again with fresh horseradish. It was good, but not spectacular. The shrimp obviously were not fresh that day. You get 5 big shrimp for $20. It was ok but I probably would not get it again. We then proceeded to salad. The server recommended the Wedge. It was the classic variety but the blue cheese they use is too mild, hardly any flavor. Its was good but not great. The Wedge at Kenny's is much better. On to the entrees. I ordered the Arctic Char, having tried it in Norway. I ordered from the a la cart side of the menu because the server said those were the fish that arrived that day. It was $32. After I placed the order and had waited a while she came back to say it was not fresh that day but in fact it was a three day fish. I felt like it was a bit of bait and switch but I stayed with my original order. The char was good and expertly prepared, but it was not as fresh or as tasty as I had in Norway. I understand, Dallas is not Norway. The wife ordered from the a la cart side too and got the Halibut ($42). Her's was expertly prepared and very tasty, she loved it. We also shared a lobster mac n cheese ($20). It was pretty good, nice depth of flavor. Not a whole lot of lobster but it was tasty and I would order it again. Our service was very attentive. The one thing I did not like was after every time we told her what we wanted she would say "easy peasy" which struck me as odd. But overall I have no complaints about the service. Drinks are not cheap. My bottles of beer were $11 (!!) each (Norway prices); wife's pomegranate tini was $13 and a glass of wine was $12. This place is not inexpensive! We split everything except entrees and the bill was $200 before tip. I think the experience is high quality but it is not something you can do every month. Best for special occasions. Final verdict: the fish was good but it does not quite measure up to fresh on the West coast. We had a 4 star experience but clearly not a 5 star meal.

Consistently high quality fare. Service is attentive and professional, you will never feel rushed, the ambiance is tasteful and retrained. No matter what is ordered it seems to please. But make no mistake, seafood rules in this culinary gem. The fish and shell fish are always fresh and prepared to perfection. We love the lightly fried Calamari and two dipping sauces, any fish entree and cake and chocolate sundaes. A great place to share with friends.

Recently went to this restaurant for the first time for a couple's date on a Saturday evening. Décor is sleek and modern. Lots of murmured conversations in the background, but our booth let us have a conversation without shouting. Service was prompt, friendly and professional. Nice touch was the cold relish tray and wonderful bread. Wished they had brought more bread during our meal. We ordered and waiter came back with 2 glasses of red wine to tell us the entrée we had ordered was sold out. The red wine was a nice touch when delivering sad news. Drinks came and were well crafted. We both had the salmon which was perfect. We enjoyed the entire meal and evening.

Coming to this restaurant I thought I would have the most amazing 5 star service. Of course the restaurant is gorgeous. Who wouldn't want to eat there? On the contrary the service was not what I expected and my server was way to quick to even get my business partners and I order correct. My business partner and I don't eat pork. We ordered lobster mac n cheese without bacon and bacon was still placed in our food. We made the server aware and he made it seem like there was no bacon. Then we showed it to him. The server pretended to go get new mac n cheese made. After waiting another 20 Minutes the server brought out a new lobster mac n cheese. The new one still had bacon in it. I am allergic to pork me my business partner is. It was absolutely ridiculous that after an entire Hour my business partner and I had no food. We were beyond disappointed. We were not offered anything for it or any compensation for our time being waisted. This was so beneath a 5 star restaurant to me as the other ratings stated. I love to have a good time and don't mind paying 5 star prices but it better be for 5 star service. This place here I would never go back after the way my business partner and I were treated.

The Oceanaire was a fabulous choice for a nice dinner! The food was excellent, the ambiance was very nice and the food was superb. I had the grilled halibut and my husband had the scallops. Both were fresh and cooked to perfection!! We will definitely return!!

Have been for Business Dinner at Dallas looking for a seafood restaurant. Based on a recommendation we booked at the Oceanaire a table for 4. Pre booking absolutely recommended, as it was quite busy (around 7:00pm). The setup is interesting, while the bar looks more like an american sports-bar, the restaurant appears in a more european style. The furnitures looks high-quality and the overall ambiance is very comfortable. Service is friendly and discreet. There is various meals with meat or fish and a lot of siders. You can order nearly everything from cuttlefish to Oysters. Sweetwater or sea fish. We ordered different salads, stuffed flounder, cuttlefish and lobster. Everything was fresh with a good taste and nicely presented. For drinks you have a great choice of national and international wine, as well as various beers and soft drinks. Overall we had a nice evening with good meals and drinks at The Oceanaire. I personally liked the very much the nice ambiance.

We enjoy coming here for the ultra fresh seafood (flown in daily I believe) and the food is well cooked. They don't worry much about presentation like some fancy places and the food tends to be bland. The hors d'oeuvres of veggies are nice.

Absolutely the best food I have had. Can’t believe I haven’t been here before. Everything was perfectly prepared-cocktails & food Service was excellent

Very nice restaurant with a good menu. Convenient for me staying in the hotel to meet Dallas friends for dinner. Easy for them to get too from various locations in metro area.

A co-worker of mine insisted that we have dinner before we flew out the next morning. I am so glad he did. The food was melt in your mouth wonderful. We were early for our reservation and they were kind enough to seat us early. We will visit again without hesitation.

This is my favorite restaurant in Dallas. The atmosphere is wonderful. They have the the freshest seafood and oysters. The menu changes each day depending on what fresh fish and oysters come in. They offer fish from all over including .the Texas coastlines. Their preparations are simple to the exotic. It's obvious they are chef-prepared. They are open to providing the preparation the customer asks for. They offer sour dough bread fresh from the oven along with fresh crudités covered in crushed ice. There is an extensive wine menu. The service is outstanding! The waiters are personable and knowledgeable along with a group of other waiters standing by to fill water and take plates. I can't say enough about the excellence of this restaurant. On my most recent visit I was alone. As a woman I was made to feel welcome. I had the cold plate of a half of lobster, three huge prawns, two mussels and oysters and a crab leg for $37. It was served with four dipping sauces. I didn't have dessert because they are huge, enough for 2-3 people but I remember they are delicious.

We went to celebrate my husband's birthday. They were so kind to print him a "Happy Birthday" menu and offered him a baked alaksa desert. He was delighted, and totally happy about the quality of his dinner. Overall, it was a delightful dinner, and we will return. Only draw back was sitting at the bar towards the end of Happy Hour where others were crowding in and reaching over us to place/recieve their drink orders. I wish they had a designated space at the bar for walk-up orders.

For anybody wondering if this place is legit or not, I have three words for you: CHICKEN FRIED LOBSTER. And yes, it is even better than it sounds. Not to mention, it’s served on rich truffle white cheddar grits. Although this is obviously the standout dish on the menu, I feel confident in saying that you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. For appetizers, my mom and I had shrimp and grits and steamed mussels (both were decadent). My mom raved about the crawfish pasta, which she had as her entree. The portion sizes are big and prices are reasonable. As far as atmosphere goes, it couldn’t have been better for the time in which we were there (about 1:15 on a Monday). There were around 10 people in the restaurant, so it was pleasantly quiet. The staff was friendly and more than attentive. If you are anywhere near Galleria Mall, make sure that you give this place a try.

Whilst staying at the Westin Galleria we decided to get a quick dinner down in the lobby. We were not sure what to expect but we were extremely happy. To start with our server was first class. Had a great personality and enjoyed the menu himself. Always confident when the staff eat the food regularly. Everything we are was excellent. Highly recommend to anyone that loves seafood. Clam chowder to die for and crab cakes that is all crab no cake.

Staff, food and wine were excellent. Had 2 late joiners to our party and staff never blinked an eye as they moved our party of 8 to 10

We had dinner at this place. Service was excellent. We had lobster and Tune and fried calamari. Food was perfectly prepared and presented superably. This is must visit place if you love seafood

I won't say that the Oceanaire is five diamond seafood, but it's a fierce competitor. Despite being in a hotel (and a shopping mall, for that matter) I had a truly standout dinner here. The restaurant is pleasantly lit with fairly dim lighting and blue hues throughout. The central seats are a bit noisy but a booth against the window was sufficiently muted. There is a small upstairs seating area as well that looked to be for 2 and 4 people. Service was a little slow both in the pacing of courses and the attentiveness of the staff, but when food was in front of us everything else was forgotten. There is a decent list of house cocktails that range from bold to fruity to decadent and the two we tried were delicious and strong. We started off with a shrimp diablo appetizer and expected a small 4-6 piece serving as is typically the case. We were amazed to see a large bowl with maybe 15-20 pieces. Accompanying the appetizer was a very delicious and soft sourdough bread with creamy whipped butter. I was interested to see a small bowl of chilled vegetables brought out along with the bread, which included pepperoncini, cucumber, pickles, radishes, black olives, and carrots. Both the main dishes were distinctive as well as delicious. My partner ordered a reddish risotto which was actually a small bit of risotto topped with a whole redfish fillet. She was expecting a large bowl of risotto and was surprised by what she received but thoroughly enjoyed it. I took advantage of the summer crab season with whatever type of king crab was offered on the menu. $65 per kind seemed a bit high for crab but when it arrived already shelled and (mostly) intact in large pieces, I was happy to pay a little extra for the service. Of course, the crab was succulent and sweet. Sides are a la carte and a little on the high end but large and quite tasty. Dessert also tends to be served for two even when not listed as such, as we learned when receiving a cheesecake slice twice the size of my hand. All said, this was definitely a meal that can stand on its own as a high end and incredibly satisfying experience. I will certainly be returning the next time I am in Dallas.

Our first experience was gangbusters. Yes, it's a bit pricey, but excellent food and service is worth more. We began with crab cocktail (anyone can do shrimp). Our waiter split our entrees without being asked: Lobster mac-n-cheese is an absolute MUST! Truffled mashed potatoes were tasty. Halibut was truly succulent and crab cakes that became our instant new favorite (and we've had them on the Maryland and Potomac coast). We finished with carrot cake and bread putting that took us four days to finish! We really gotta get back and see what else we can find!

The hits? Great atmosphere, impeccable service, cocktails, appetizers, sides and desserts. The misses? Every single seafood entree ordered by our group of 12 was overcooked. A 10 oz filet mignon had to be returned because it was inedible, gristly and not even a filet mignon. If you want to try Oceannaire caution not overcooking your fish when you order. The offerings, including Hawaiian Wahoo, Halibut and Monkfish, are extensive. I highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms, crab cake, shrimp cocktail, spicy tempura shrimp and fresh oysters as appetizers. Don’t forget the sourdough bread, served piping hot with butter! As disappointing as the entrees were, the sides were spectacular - truffle mashed potatoes, creamed corn and asparagus. The desserts we received were stellar, including the baked Alaska and rich chocolate cherry bread pudding. Unfortunately, the key lime pie was unavailable. Cocktails, beer and wine were all on the mark. Highlights were the Manhattan, the aperol spritz and a local lager, recommended by our server. Overall, a special dining experience for the two in our group celebrating birthdays and a memorable time with family!

Excellent service. Matt was our server and his knowledge of wine exceeded any I've ever heard before. From the front desk host, manager and everyone who attended to our table the service was excellent. The food was delicious. Fair price considering the quality of the experience.

Went there for the Valentine special which was fantastic. Service was very good. The only negative was the bar for the Happy Hour. The drink I ordered was the martini. I like my drinks filled to the top and this one was not. Ordered the calamari for the happy hour appetizer and it was terrible. Greasy and it looked as though they gave us the crumbs from a previous order. I’ll go back for the dinner and the specials but I’ll skip the happy hour. Not worth it.

Great seafood in Dallas! This restaurant is a part of the Landry’s group so you can expect great food. The service was excellent. They even called a few hours before our reservation time to confirm. Expansive wine list and chef special entrees. It is pricey but worth it for special occasions!

Our server Chad was very knowledgeable and maintained our table the whole night. I got salmon that was just amazing as well as an appetizer our server recommended. Best. Choice. Ever. They were tempura squash blossoms and they were delicious and a super special and beautiful treat

After an evening of shopping, we decided to have dinner here. It was busy, but we only had about a 10 minute wait for a table. It's a part of the Landry's chain of restaurants. I think the food is better at some of the other restaurants within this chain (i.e. Mitchells Fishmarket, McCormick & Schmick's). I do not feel like the food I got was worth the price. The salmon was as not impressive. I can barely remember what else I had - not memorable. For the price, I would recommend going to the nearby Arthur's Restaurant in Addison, TX, which offered a much better quality and taste in food for a comparable price.

I went to happy hours at the Oceanaire Seafood Room in the Westin Hotel at the Galleria Mall near Dallas (Addison) area. I started off with an oyster trio which came out beautifully presented (I could have ate a dozen but had plans later for dinner). Then I had the cold lobster roll with fries. The lobster roll was actually two, it was a generous portion. I also enjoyed a mojito with my meal (very late lunch as this was a travel day). I sat at the bar which is not my favorite place to sit, the bartender/server was Tim and he was friendly and attentive. I would go back if in the area. The lighting was weird so pics aren’t the best.

My boyfriend and I came here for our anniversary, and it was genuinely the best experience we could have asked for. The food was absolutely delicious (best we’d ever had), service was on-point (water never was less than half full), and atmosphere was amazing. We got a table upstairs away from some of the noise and the ambiance mixed with the incredible dining was so perfect. We recommend the lobster mac and cheese (probably the best food I’ve ever eaten) and for a food experience, the baked Alaska dessert. Anyway....I digress- 10/10 dinner, amazing location, and great food. Will be back. P.s- they even wrote happy anniversary on our menu! In love and worth every single PENNY.

Had dinner here over the 4th. While the food and service were satisfactory it no longer warrants a 5 rating as there are much better seafood restaurants in Dallas. But, its location is great, adjacent to the Galleria.

Located in the Westin Galleria, upscale Seafood Restaurant similar in presentation to an upscale steakhouse. Excellent service, good craft cocktails. Variable selection of oysters all priced around $4 a piece, other than Chef's choice at 6 for $21. Offers multiple fresh seafood choices all prepared well, but at the prices nothing totally mind blowing. But this was just a one time sample and if doing business or staying in the Galleria area would certainly visit again as the service was impeccable.

Have been to this brand restaurant in DC as well as DALLAS. It is reliable in an unreliable genre for fresh food - seafood. We ordered the crab cakes and a special of the day - fresh wahoo prepared in an oriental sauce. It was a fine experience and the food was well prepared. Attentive and helpful service. You pay for this.

It's a bit pricey - my friends and I each had two drinks, an entree, and we split one dessert and paid ~$90. The food, though, was excellent.

Loved it!! Birthday girl loved it!! Nice Atmosphere, wonderful staff and great food. Loved the Swordfish

We love Oceanaire. Yes, I know, it's a "chain restaurant," but we still love the Galleria location ambiance. The service is first-rate and the fare, whether it's seafood or steak, is consistently excellent. We know there are dozens (hundreds?) of great choices in the Metroplex, but we don't have to guess about Oceanaire.

6th time here but the first time in the last 6 months. Same great food but the service was lacking badly. The restaurant was full and it seemed as if they were a server or 2 short. The guy we had was pleasant but the people at the booth next to us said as they were leaving - order now as he will not be back for a while. Issues - would have been nice for a follow up on would you like more wine or anything, Wanted to order desert to go but he never followed up, and getting the check took forever. I'm not sure what happened as we eat out a ton and this place used to have excellent service to go along with the food. Perhaps a bad night but other reviews reference service issues as well. Unfortunately won't be back and it was one of our favorites.

Dinner at The Oceanaire was just okay. My husband and I were excited to try this restaurant and our excitement grew after reviewing the menu and online reviews. Our experience did not live up to the expectations. Service was courteous, but extremely slow and the food was average. We ordered a calamari appetizer to share with cocktails, the calamari was okay, nothing special. We ordered the chicken fried lobster and an off menu special, dynamite scallops with an added cold water lobster tail as our entrees. I ordered a glass of wine with dinner. Our cocktails were empty when our dinner plates were delivered. The entrees were beautifully presented, but average in taste. The scallops were very salty and I was only able to eat two. The cold water lobster tail was fine, but it was a little overcooked, which should never be the case at a restaurant that specializes in seafood. The chicken fried lobster was innovative and interesting, but it too was not anything special taste wise. My wine was delivered to the table after our dinner plates were cleared—it was that slow. The server was very kind, and recognized the slow service we received and brought us a complimentary baked Alaska. The dessert was also beautifully presented. Overall, this restaurant is very expensive, the food is average at best, and the service is very slow.

I visited Oceanaire accompanied by two other women. We had been given a free appetizer card by the Westin staff. When our server was told about the free appetizer you could see he was not pleased. He was not very friendly but did get our order right. The rest of the restaurant staff however were very attentive to our needs. I had the Red Snapper which is served whole, very delicious. My friend had a filet which was just okay. She knew she probably shouldn't order steak at a seafood restaurant. We also tried the crab cakes and shrimp cocktail which were divine. They have a large wine selection the entire back of the menu. When we received our check we were still charged for the appetizer. Our server had disappeared so my friend had to find another staff member to fix our check. Overall the seafood was good. The service I would have to rate down only because of our server not the rest of the staff.

Atmosphere/Service is a Win! Food is not up to the prices - Place. The Ala La Carte price gouging what the most annoying part - Show. With win place or show, you win with all three but not with an equal payoff.

I love to shop at the Galleria; and I also love to satisfy my palate midday; a glass of white wine; and a half shelf of oysters; fused with exceptional service; puts a smile on face; cheers and thank you Oceanaire

Oceanaire is a North Dallas seafood staple with great selections of fresh fish and an extensive wine list. Good for celebrating a special occasion, be sure and save room for the baked Alaska

Conveniently located in the lobby of the Westin Galleria. Excellent selection of oysters and clam chowder is excellent. Portions are large so consider sharing. Had the Black and blue Scottish salmon and was excellent along with perfectly roasted Brussels sprouts. But what truly made the meal was the service provided by our server, Emma. Friendly, great smile and attentive.

Love this concept ... and menu really is unique . . . .old world elegance and trendy menu to keep you coming back. Go hungry, go early . . . We had plenty to share. . . Never made it to the desert menu.

Why bother if restaurant is too afraid to show pricing even the most expensive restaurants we hv visited in dallas has no problem!! Not in my zone !! We hv been to the French room, Warsaw, al biernats etc etc. geez !!

I thoroughly enjoyed a lunch with friends at the Oceanaire. The restaurant setting is outstanding and the food is terrific. The restaurant is known for their fresh seafood and they do not disappoint. I enjoyed crab cakes for an appetizer and freshly haddock for the entre. Both were outstanding. THe restaurant is located in the Westin hotel and if you use a valet expect to pay at least $10.00 for the service.

I have been staying in the Westin for Twenty days and finally I was able to get in on the 1.00 Oyster day and could not get service after 8 pm. I sat down for 5 minutes and the waiter gave me a clean mat at the bar. The bar person never gave me the time of day. Of course I'm not white as everyone I saw. I have no clue as what to food taste loko

The food was so good. It was our 36th wedding anniversary and the serving staff did an awesome job of making it special. We had the dynamite scallops and bass with the spinach. Our cocktails were very tasty. My only complaint was the hostess who knew it was our anniversary and we asked for a quiet table sat us in one of the both tables. Then choose to sit a family with young children right next to us that really affected our celebration. The kids were loud and not very well behaved. The dining was almost empty so really no reason to do that. But our server Ryan did the best he could to make it special.

Great atmosphere, very old school, formal. Hostess and wait staff were wonderful. Great selection of wines by the glass, and reasonably priced. The food however, was a major disappointment. I started with the New England clams chowder. It’s was crazy thick, way too thick and had absolutely no flavor at all. It literally tasted like nothing. For my entree, I ordered the lobster Mac & Cheese side dish. It too, had absolutely no flavor. There were way too many breadcrumbs (with nuts) as a topping so that it took over the entire dish. The cheese was flavorless and the sauce runny. Not good. Didn’t even eat a tiny amount of it, and when the waitress took away a nearly full entree, she didn’t even notice to ask why. We will not be going back again!

We redeemed a gift card from a friend at Oceanaire and we were not disappointed. Very nice atmosphere and the food was excellent. Our server also did a nice job. We were there on a busy Saturday night and our server was still attentive and timely. Valet parking is a little too pricey......$20

We went for our Anniversary, food used to be so fresh and I was really looking forward to an amazing dinner. This time, Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail were hard to chew. The stuffed flounder was tasteless, the Calamari was less than average, the blackened fish was too salty, the barbecue shrimp was nice. The Carrot Cake was good but not fabulous, only had one bite. Next time.... I think we will celebrate elsewhere.

We loved everything about this place! Mack was an excellent and attentive server! Food was phenomenal! Great teamwork from everyone there. We have 5 different people fill our glasses during our dinner. Very high end wine selection!

Right at the Galeria shopping mall at lobby of Westin, huge place (with light and not enjoying noise) nice decoration, great seafood (oysters have taste), great service, huge wine selection... certainly a place to return, rather expensive too)))

Went there for my son's birthday. We ordered Calamari as an appetizer and it came with the rings and the spider versions which I can't stand. So automatically half of it didn't get eaten. (restaurants should tell you this). The rings were tiny, like the diameter of your pinky finger. The calamari had fried lemon and fried jalapenos and fried red peppers mixed in so it appeared like you were getting a lot of the seafood but in actuality you weren't. The sauces were not very good that accompanied it. That is our go to app anywhere and unfortunately this was the worst we've ever had. Our table ordered king crab, Japanese sea bass and scallops. The scallops were outstanding but the accompanying parts (beans and more of that bad green sauce that came with the calamari) were left behind and not very tasty. The sea bass had a beet risotto that incredible and the fish was a thick piece of tasty steak. King crab legs were cut open but you still had to pick it up and man handle it out of the shell. I didn't think that was appropriate for such a "high end" restaurant. I've eaten it at others where it's all done for you and you reach in with your fork and pull it out. Service was great - very attentive, and friendly but almost too friendly Our waiter would stop by and ask how it all is, chat for a minute an then stand there. It was really kind of awkward. We just kind of all looked back at our meals in silence. We weren't wanting dessert, very full, had spent enough money. But the waiter told my son pick one! He picked an ice cream float. No, pick a cake or something! He said he really wanted the float. You can have that too - pick a cake! so he brought out the float and the cake which both were delightful but we really didn't want it. Almost like my son got shamed into ordering a dessert! The restaurant comped the cake for the birthday and charged us for the float. We have eaten in some great high end restaurants and while this was nice I don't think it was worth what we paid and got.

First of all, we visited on the Friday evening of Texas-OU Weekend.....so it was VERY BUSY!!! We had a 7pm reservation and were seated immediately......however, it went downhill from there! Service was very slow....our meal took 2 1/2 hours. It was hard to get our waiter’s attention! Our Granddaughter had chosen this for her birthday celebration....she ordered the Fried Fish, from the Children’s Menu.....ate about half of it then shared it with the table....that is when we discovered it was chicken....not fish! I ordered Halibut....and was served some other type of fish....it was not the usual wonderful, flaky delicious Halibut! We were visited by the Manager, and did complain....he was VERY NICE and did comp part of our meal and was very apologetic. There was lots of chaos in a usually quiet fine dining restaurant!

Fantastic wine and seafood selections supported by a very attentive staff. Lots of options for dining for small get together or larger group. Food is great and seafood is very fresh. Worth a visit for business or pleasure. Great Chardonnay that is perfectly suited for scallops. Enjoy!

We utilize this restaurant for business lunches frequently. Being in the Westin Hotel, you expect excellence. The Oceanaire fits the bill. The service can be sketchy (to me this is almost always a training issue) but the food is top notch. Pricey - the nature of seafood with the fish flown in fresh daily. The waiter (who was a bit brusque) redeemed himself a bit by recommending the bread pudding dessert which was excellent. Ditto for the clam chowder with bacon. If you get a bowl it would be a meal.

Very nice restaurant in the Galleria with independent entrance from the parking. For 20 years I visited him. Excellent service and elegant lounge with large windows and good food specializing in fish and seafood. I love the bar area. However, it closes its doors. A classic in Houston. Goodbye OCEANAIRE

Absolutely love the crab cakes - all lump crab meat with just enough breading to hold them together...then cooked to perfection. The clam chowder is not to be missed. Having been all over New England, the clam chowder at The Oceanaire is by far superior.

A great restaurant for seafood, we always enjoy eating here. On this visit the special was a lobster thermidor served out of the shell. We paired it with Caesar salads and a nice bottle of Viognier. Fresh seafood and extensive wine selections are a staple here.

Our business group was very impressed with the quality of food, wine selection, freshness and service. You cannot go wrong here!

Some co workers and I ate dinner at The Oceanaire Seafood Room on a recent business trip. The service was excellent. The food was outstanding. I had the crab cake appetizer, the Thresher Shark, some broccoli, and the lobster macaroni and chees. They were all very good. It was pricy but the service and quality of food was worth it. Try it if you are in the area and up for a good meal.

Busy and full for a Saturday night dinner but we were still able to have good conversation at tables that seat six. We were dining as part of a large business group staying at the hotel so our menu may have been dictated ahead of time but it was excellent, several choices. Sides are family style and replenished easily. Dessert was also family style and great. I know it is called the Oceanaire which implies heavy on seafood but we had steak options that were excellent. Great wait staff in that you didn't notice them as much as you noticed you had everything you needed without having to flag someone down. That is how it should be with this level of restaurant. Would recommend for business and couples and friends, not necessarily families.

The food was excellent. Great selection of oysters. The arctic char and salmon were delicious. Our waiter was inattentive and sloppy. He spilled hot water on a cell phone and purse because he was carelessly carrying teapots with hot water. That should not stop you from going to Oceanaire. Just keep your possessions away from careless servers.

This is a very pleasant restaurant with good ambience, attentive service, delicious fresh seafood accompanied by an excellent wine list. The oysters are absolutely delicious and the snapper and halibut succulent and flavourful.

When friends suggested getting together we readily agreed. When they recommended Oceanaire we were ecstatic. My wife and I have been patrons of Oceanaire for decades and rarely been less than happy with the experience. The seafood is the star, fresh daily, often unique, always prepared and served to be enjoyed. While some items can be pricey they have no problem sharing portions of entrees - even appetizers. My wife and I shared a Tomato and Burata Salad and the gulf Redfish. Both were excellent. Our wine by glass went well with the meal and ensuing conversation. While it's a classy, it's not stifling and you can actually have a quiet conversation across the table. This time of year it's fun to visit the Galleria Christmas decorations and ice rink before or after a meal.

This establishment is really slipping, I am revising my initial review DOWN to one star, as even after a lackluster evening and my need to contact the GM over an incorrect bill ( because our crab cakes were brought out cold/frozen) and her pledge to follow up with me we are going on almost a week now without confirmation that my issue was corrected. I'll be having my business dinners elsewhere from now on. I suspect Tilman may not be happy with this situation. JMHO

Stuffing 20 overweight people into a banquet room created a logistical challenge that the staff overcame, even as the people stuffed into the room stuffed themselves. The service was great, as was the food.

This was my first visit to an Oceanaire and it was fabulous. We entertained a client for the evening with appetizers- jumbo prawns, salads, main entrees, desserts, drinks, private dining area, and the service is top notch. They had provided a special menu, and I ordered the crab cakes baked to perfection. Another choice was the 8 oz filet which looked tender and juicy with the right amount of rub and spices. We shared the truffle whipped potatoes and grilled asparagus. We also ordered up the dessert tray of cheesecake, key lime pie, and creme brûlée. They also knew how to serve up a Sambuca with my 3 coffee beans! The entire experience is just amazing from start to finish!

Debra and I were joined by our neighbors for a night of good food and good company. We dine at the Oceanaire usually at least once each month. I have enjoyed the lobster, the Dover sole, swordfish, and especially the oysters on the half-shell. We prefer to sit upstairs where it is a little quieter and allows for more "people watching". The service is superb any where you sit. We have not had a bad meal or a bad experience there in all the years we have been going. There are only a few really good restaurants in Dallas that know how to cook and present seafood. I highly recommend Oceanaire Seafood Room.

Expertly prepared fresh fish - not an over- or under-cooked piece at the table. The lobster mac and cheese side is delicious and would make a great meal all by itself. Service was friendly and professional. The dining room is a little louder than we would like (I would hesitate to take my slightly-hearing-challenged parents) but do-able, and we typically prefer quiet dining.

Absolutely wonderful, the food, the attention, the place itself. The best crab cakes I've ever eaten!!! Their dishes very well presented, quick in the kitchen. Their tables very well laid with white tablecloths, cute tableware and good cutlery!!

This place is worth it!! Delish food and inviting atmosphere. We sat at the bar for apps and loved it. The Bloody Mary was tasty and garnished with a shrimp, olive and lime. The New England clam chowder and calamari were perfect. It’s a great place to while away an evening in a cold Dallas night. Note the Oceanair is inside the Westin Galleria.

We had a mini-vacation in Dallas and ended up coming here twice during our stay. The cocktails are fantastic. The serving of bread and crudités were inconsistent. Our first visit there we did not get any bread or crudités but with a different server for our second visit, we did get the bread and crudités. Great bread and crudités if you are served it! The oysters were very fresh and the chopped seafood salad is rather amazing. Just the right amount of dressing too. We obviously enjoyed ourselves because we came back, it gets crowded here. We are Oceanaire fans and we're happy Dallas was good as well as the other restaurants we tried.

Went there for New Years Eve. The food was great. I]It will not disappointment. I had the Thresher Shark from Southern California. Absolutely awesome piece of fish. The appetizers were very nice we had shrimp and grits along with Lobster Cakes. The atmosphere and wait staff were A+. Ready to go back again.

The steaks was perfect and the chicken fried lobster was my overall favorite perfect flavor. The wait staff could not have been any better explained full menu and made our experience perfect five stars for sure.

Oceanaire is always a great seafood experience with an excellent wine list. On this visit the special was a stuffed lobster tail in a thermidor style. Between sharing that, the bread and relish tray, and a Caesar salad my wife and I had plenty for the two of us. Parking nearby is often full so best bet is to use the Westin valet ($10) or park further down in one of the mall garages.

Attended the Stags Leap wine paring last week, the wine was good, however everyone was complaining about the slow service & the food was cold, cold steak, vegetables, etc... not good, not my favorite in Dallas, more of a tourist spot, not a local favorite.

The Oceanaire Seafood Room is in the Westin Galleria Hotel, although please note it is not part of the hotel. Our party was in town for a competition and had a fabulous dinner there one night. The restaurant is superbly decorated in soft blues and whites. Very modern decor. The food was incredible. Fresh, seasoned perfectly, just right portions all served by an extremely professional staff. Nate S. was our waiter and what a great job he did. His recommendations were spot on and his service was unobtrusive and efficient. Our party started with the Oysters and they were perfect. It takes a fine restaurant to bring out the best flavor of each oyster without suffocating it in sauce. We enjoyed Malpaque, Conway Cup, Katama Bay, and Copps Island. What a treat! Being from New England we looked kindof sidweways at the Chicken Fried Lobster Tail. We tried it and in a word AWESOME! Yes the Lobster purists might object, but the taste was incredible. Paired with the Cream Corn and the meal was perfect. Other members of our party raved about the Artic Charr, Lobster Mac & Cheese, and the Crab Cakes. Nate recommended some fine wine that went perfectly with the food - Markham Merlot and Loveblock Sauvignon Blanc. Well done, Oceanaire Seafood Room and Nate, the evening was perfect. Thanks.

A good restaurant in the central area of Dallas, good service and even food. Perhaps the best seafood restaurant I've tried in Texas

The service is good the food is fine. Dependable quality, love the fresh oysters. A good place to eat

Living in the Florida Gulf coast where the freshest of fresh seafood abounds, we were hesitant to visit a restaurant that far from the coast touted for its seafood. But we are so glad we did. The atmosphere is subdued and sophisticsted. The service was impeccable, of a caliber I rarely find any more. And the meal was scrumptious. I especially enjoyed the stuffed flounder Florentine. Rather pricey, by well worth a splurge.

Dallas is not the best place for seafood. The Oceanaire is trying to be a fancy submarine-looking haven in the Texas desert, but it feels more like a money pit. I understand why business travelers frequent the restaurant, but could not tell you why fancy Texans come here every night to commemorate special occasions.

This restaurant is located at the lobby of Westin hotel, connected to the Galleria mall. I had noticed it on my many visits to the mall, in the past. We love Restaurant Week, so when I saw it on the list, we made a reservation. Everything seemed great upon our arrival. A nice gentleman greeted and checked us in. The restaurant seemed lively and had a nice décor. While waiting to be seated, a young girl stormed towards the hostess station and just went off on the staff in front of us. No idea what that was about! Shortly after, she seated us at our table. We looked at both the regular menu and the prefix menu and ordered from the special menu. The options were not bad. Our server seemed friendly at first, but everything and I mean everything took a turn. Once he took the whole order as he was insistent on, we rarely saw him again. We had to ask others for refill and anything else we needed. The check was dropped so fast as he looked away, and poof, he was gone forever. Service was extremely poor! Our food wasn't bad, but nothing memorable. As for the ambiance, it seemed hectic, and the staffs' stress was very visible. It was a full house, but it wasn't packed, the servers however, seemed so chaotic. That very same young hostess we met at the beginning, would walk around the restaurant with her hand on her hip and say things. Another young hostess walked around with a paper and pen in her hand as if she was taking notes. She stood next to our table noting about us, as though, when we should be leaving. The stress and chaos was so visible and unavoidable that we felt it all. What a way to have a date night! So no, I would not recommend this restaurant. Their pricing is on par with Truluck and Eddie V, both restaurants we've dined at and absolutely recommend, but service and ambiance of Oceanaire is no match. I was looking forward to like this place so that we can add it to the list of our seafood eateries. We will not return.

For those of you who are squeemish about ordering fresh fish at a restaurant that is SO FAR from any ocean, you can rest easy ordering anything off this menu. The fish is flown in daily, so the menu changes to accommodate what's available. Our table sampled several appetizers and I will say that hands down, this was the best crab cake I've ever had. The scallops were also very good. My curiosity got the best of me, so I ordered the chicken-fried lobster for my dinner. I know it sounds ridiculous, but it was amazing! I love lobster grilled with lots of garlic and butter, and this dish is now my second favorite. Our well-trained and knowledgeable server was friendly and helpful with suggestions and advise on what was most popular and what was not. Be prepared to pay a premium when the check arrives, but in this instance, you definitely get wha you pay for. Can't wait to go again!

A Great place to enjoy seafood, steak and speciality salads. Great for couples, business meeting, special occasions and more. Their oysters are superb and fresh! Has happy hour on sundays. Great appetizers and crab cakes and pasta. Prices average 19.99 to 34.99 but worth it. Very memorable to enjoy and visit again and again. They are part of the Landry Club also.

This restaurant is very upscale. The wait staff is very attentive and our server Thomas was great. We were celebrating my husband's birthday. The food was wonderful. I ordered scallops and the plate came with six perfectly cooked scallops. My husband ordered swordfish and lobster which he said were perfectly cooked. My son ordered steak and shrimp and his girlfriend ordered stuffed flounder. All the side dishes are ala cart. Our waiter said the portion sizes were large, which we disagreed. For a family of four, you probably need two side dishes instead of one. For dessert, my son and girlfriend had cheesecake and my husband and I shared the Baked Alaska. This is a special occasion place because it is very pricey. All of us enjoyed our dinner, but none of us are sure we want to come back, which is interesting.

Enjoyed my 5 year anniversary here. The food, drinks and service was great. RJ, our server, was detailed, professional and genuine in his customer service. The Manager, Lisa Walter's, made sure our experience was memorable. We were surprised with sherbet and two flutes of champagne along with a personalized menu to cherish. I suggest the oysters, chopped salad, and caprese salad. Great place for that special memorable occasion. Highly suggested. ENJOY!

I love live lobsters cooked to order and this is one of the few places in Dallas to get good ones. They also always have a good selection of oysters from around the country as well as other fresh fish they fly in regularly. The service is equally good. If you want fresh fish that stands up well on its own, this is a very good choice: and one of the only such seafood options in Big D.

The restaurant has great reviews! It is beautiful, a bit dark but nice. Bar service lacks a bit and not enough space but everything we tried on the menu was above amazing! Bit pricey but definitely delicious!

Very nice restaurant and our server was very customer oriented. I thought for the amount of food you get, it seems a little bit pricey. I must admit, the food was good and prepared well.

Located at the Galleria adjacent to The Westin.. You feel transported. Black and white tile floors lots of wood and brass railings. The menu is very very expansive. Everything is fresh and preparation and presentation is exceptional . A great place for an early dinner, it's not crowded and the service is always first class no matter what time of day. Oysters and champagne! The fresh fish is flown in daily. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️$$$$$

If you're in Dallas, be sure to check out the Oceanaire!. They fly in fresh fish and oysters daily and it is all served up in ingenious ways! So many choices and the staff is knowledgeable!!!

I had high expectations and the food was and the service was good but nothing special. I can't really put my finger on just one thing that was bad, but this place is just pretty average. Especially when you consider the prices, there are much better values around.
Terribly Disappointing
I used to love Oceanaire but not that they are owned by Landry's the quality has suffered. The gumbo was good, nice dark and muddy roux and ample seafood but too much okra...enough for 2-3 pieces of okra per spoonful. I asked the bartender for a suggestion and went with the TX Palacios Redfish. Fish was warm at best, overcooked and under-seasoned. The bleu cheese butter was way too cold and never did melt into the warm at best fish. Caramelized onions were flavorless and the entire dish simply did not work. This is the 3rd Oceanaire I've eaten at since new ownership and each one was less than impressive. Drank glass of Pinot Noir at $17 per glass and it was warm. If you offer good wines BTG why not serve them at a proper temperature? Oh well.
