Had to get our pasta fix. We love their Mizithra cheese entree. I do enjoy their manager's favorite adding the clam sauce too. Oh, the sourdough bread hit the spot, not to mention the refreshing salad. I almost forgot desert, spumoni ice cream. Yummy!

Having visited a couple of other Old Spaghetti Factory locations over the years, I was excited to see what the San Diego location had to offer. The building and interior space was much like other locations in the fact that it was very quaint and unique. Unlike some of the other downtown restaurants, it is somewhere you can have a conversation and relax a bit. The food was on par with other Old Spaghetti Factory stops. It's served warm and fresh with great service. They have typical Italian food with various pastas and other dishes. It's good, quality food that is fulfilling.

This place was a brilliant surprise. It was great value for money, quality and a great experience. We were put in a quirky table which was surrounded by a 4 post bed. Service was very attentive and prompt. The meals are mostly a set meal. You chose an entree, main and then get an ice cream desert. We also ordered some cheesee Garlic Bread which I highly recommend. The food was great quality and every one was full and satisfied at the end of the meal. This is fantastic value and we all thoroughly enjoyed our unplanned visit. I highly recommend you arrange to have a meal at The Old Speghetti Factory if you are ever staying in San Diego.

This is the OSF model at its finest (and most expensive). The facility is decorated in the usual OSF style but the quality of the decor and facility are at an even higher level than usual. Both service and food were excellent and occurred in a very attractive, well-appointed corner of the restaurant. We could not have asked for anything to be better. Well done, OSF!

We arrived at 9.10pm but we were accepted in and shown to a dark table that was no where near big enough for six so we requested to move. The waiter I think his name was Ashton totally confused us all with his explanation of the menu, where he seemed to be telling us what we should eat and drink. Starters were ok but 4 of the group had not finished their starters when the mains arrived bought by a male from the kitchen that smelt of Body Odour we tried to tell him we hadn't finished but he proceeded to dump the mains on the table. The dirty plates from the starters were left on the table as we proceeded to eat our main course when I bought this up to the female who I think was a manager she said sarcastically ' Oh was the service a little quick for you ma'am' as if it was my fault....the food was poor, service worse and when we didn't tip the amount the server clearly thought wasn't enough he made his disdain more than clear. As Brits we only tip good service and food, unfortunately this place failed on both counts....Avoid this place and we would definitely not recommend.

My husband had the Lobster and Crab Ravioli, really liked it. I had the Mizithra ( don’t know if this is spelled right. Spell check is being a little ——-.) Anyway my only complaint was the Spumoni serving was too small.

We did a murder mystery party. The arrival time was 6:30 with food supposed to be served at 7:00. We had to order an appetizer (extra $) by 7:30 because we were getting hangry. The food came around 7:40 and was mediocre at best (the spinach and artichoke appetizer we ordered was the best thing we ate). The salads were average, bread was just okay and pasta was luke warm...and truly not delicious. The murder mystery party was...meh. Sorry. Didn’t love any of it.

We liked the atmosphere and food. Definitely worth a visit. Fun feeling, the waitress crystal was outstanding. She rocks!!!

We were seated right away and the service was very good. All of the food we ordered was cooked just right. I had the tenderloin and angel hair and it was delicious. Many different drink choices also.

Went to the old Spaghetti factory for the first time in San Diego Gas lamp area while visiting the SD area. The restaurant was spacious and large and good for families with kids as they had a kids menu and space for strollers. The item that was kind of annoying was upon entry at 5pm for dinner, they had 4 host staff all standing behind a large counter, but no one really wanted to help patrons and serve. When one attendant finally came forward and asked how many in our party (4), She seemed confused and did not know where to seat us. Food was ok....I think there are better food options in the area for the price charged.

Place in the greatest location in town. Easily accessible... he food was superb and the service was great.

The place is big. Personnel very attentive and courteous. Food delivery fast and properly. Fetuchini alfredo sauce only a little but the rest of the pasta was dry. The spinach gnocchi tasted as boiled pasta nothing special. The chicken Marsala the meat was too firm. Lasagna were really good. The milkshake taste was too bland specially vanilla.

This restaurant is worse than Olive Garden. I had the Crab Ravioli in Alfredo sauce and it tasted horrible. I guess I was expecting too much. It was artificial crab meat and the Alfredo sauce tasted bad. My partner had Chicken Marsala with their special burned butter sauce. He also didn’t like his dish. On the plus side, it is a three course meal, so you get soup/salad, entree and then a scoop of ice cream. With so many great restaurants in the area I would skip this place.

Pretty good This is in the Gaslamp area. Restaurant is pretty good. Staff were friendly & attentive. Reasonably priced, food was good with a decent menu. Would eat here again.

I've been to the USA many times for business and pleasure, but had never been to The Old Spaghetti Factory - we enjoy eating in some of the 'chain' restaurants and this one is now right up there on our list! Great food, great value, great choice!

The service was quick, polite and friendly. The food was fresh and hot. Love the fresh bread that comes to the table!

The warm loaf of French bread!!! I ordered the Spinach and Cheese Ravioli. Every bite was delicious. The side salad was nothing special, but a nice fast complement to a meal that I was eager to eat. Finally, the Spumoni ice cream was a cute finale to this first but definitely not last meal at the old Spaghetti Factory.

I had the mizithra and the spumoni. Both were delicious, of course. I appreciate consistency when ordering from a chain restaurant. I also had an espresso martini which was strong just the way I like it. I sat at the bar and the service could've been a little better. They didn't take the opportunity to offer me another drink until after I finished my meal.

Good food, typical OSF. We enjoy OSF in our hometown and this location was exactly the same. Large portions, good prices, tasty Italian. The restaurant was fairly empty (due to COVID) and was very clean with plenty of social distance signs/rules. Everything came out as ordered and we were very happy. My favorite is garlic mizithra, it’s just too much food.

On a busy Saturday night we were directed to the free seating loft bar. The three course meal deal is good value and great food. Our server Dimitri took excellent care of us. We left the venue well fed and happy

I used to really like the OSF. Food was good, service was good, prices were good. It was a great place to take the family. Now however, I think it is not much better then opening a jar of “Prego”. Definitely not worth the price. Our service on Friday night could not have been better, from the moment we walked in until we were leaving service was excellent. Just can’t make up for the food.

The food was just average. We had lasagna, spinach ravioli, olive tapenade, cheese garlic bread, broccoli, and kids mac and cheese. It was appropriately priced, location was nice and family suitable. Would not return as there are better alternatives in the area.

Had not been here in years. On a cold, brisk evening we snagged a table upstairs in the bar section near the long gaslit fireplace. It was very cozy. Who doesn’t love the potpourri dish with four samplings of pasta dishes? So yummy. Such a classic place to eat. So glad they re-opened after closing years ago (just wish they could have brought back the train car!)

Went with a group of 30 on a buster the i lead. the staff was very accommodating in helping me with plans and menu. We had three options: lasagna , chicken marsalla , and spaghetti with meat sauce. All three were good. I loved the meat sauce. The food was great and the service was a even better! The spomonti ice cream was a great ending to a wonderful meal.

Ate dinner solo and was a little surprised when I was informed it would be approximately a 10 minute wait to be seated in the dining room unless I chose to take an open seating table upstairs in the bar. Strange since the dining room only appeared to be about half full on a Monday night. Nonetheless, I went upstairs and had plenty of seating options since it was less than half full as well. Friendly waiter who provided some advise on my dinner selection, Chicken Picatta. An ample loaf of crusty bread was brought but was a little wasteful since I only ate 2 slices leaving over half the loaf. The bread was a highlight - crispy outside, soft and warm inside. Seemed to take a little long to bring the drink I ordered. It was delivered by a different waitress, so maybe a little coordination issue with the bar? Anyway, the Chicken Picatta was decent but nothing spectacular. The side of angel hair with brown butter and cheese was very good - no scrimping on either the butter or the cheese. Salad was pretty much what you find bagged at the store with store bought croutons and no tomato. Some hits and misses.

I’ve been there 2 times now. Every time it’s so good!! I would recommend making reservations before going.

We arrived 10 minutes after opening and still had to wait for a table even though the restaurant was only 1/3 full. We ordered the 3 course meal, my husband ordered the Caesar salad so didn't want the starter salad or the soup but the waiter said he had to have the soup even though he said he didn't want it. The soup dishes had soup slopped all over the rim. The food was palatable. When it came time to pay, our credit card was declined because the restaurant's banking system didn't accept all cards from out of state. We had used it several times in San Diego prior to eating here so it wasn't a problem on our end. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Cool place to eat and have drinks. Located in the middle of the Gas Lamp district and service was spot on. It was so much food that we had the left overs the next day.

The lobster ravioli was delicious and so was the bread delivered to our table before the meal. The service was pretty...it took a really long time to even be greeted and offered drinks at our table, but part of me wonders if that's a cultural thing? We are from Minnesota where you don't wait more than 3 minutes to be welcomed and offered drinks. The limencello spritzer drink I ordered was very refreshing. The ice cream to end the meal was a nice touch. All in all a good visit and would go back again.

If you like spaghetti, this is the place for you. I recommend the hearty portion of spaghetti and meat sauce with a bowl of mizithra cheese on the side. Mazithra is a traditional Greek whey cheese that has been enjoyed in Greece for thousands of years. The service is always great for our large group and it a perfect way to send dinner out with the family.

We were tired and hungry and looking for somewhere to eat in the Gas lamp area of San Diego when we came across The Old Spaghetti company. We had no idea what to expect but the menu looked good and the place was really busy so we saw that as a positive. We were seated after a few minutes wait and given a menu to have a look at , we had no idea that the price quoted outside included a started and a dessert we assumed that it was only for an entre. The food came quickly and was well presented and huge portions, the server was rushed off his feet but took time with us and checked all allergy information for us. The ice cream at the end of the meal was amazing. Our experience was really positive and we would recommend trying this place out if you are in the area.

I haven't eaten at this particular restaurant in years and I was craving Italian food. Due to the pandemic, they only have outdoor seating. They set up boothes along the outside wall of their restaurant on the sidewalk and three high tables on the outer side of the sidewalk near the street. They have additional outdoor dining around the corner for larger parties. Their menu consisted about 12 options for a three course meal; soup/salad, entree and dessert. I got minestrone, chicken parmesan, and spumoni. The spaghetti that came with my chicken was a little cold, so I don't think it was freshly boiled but came from a ready chaffing dish. The food was pretty ordinary, nothing spectacular. The serving staff were awesome and always checking on their guests. I'm guessing because there was a 90 min time limit. My only negative is that since I was sitting on a high table and close to the street, it was also where cars stopped for pick up orders. Not everyone that stopped had masks on while I was eating and not every car was well maintained air quality wise.

I’ve been to the one in STL as well, and it’s always a great experience. Not a long wait one for food, great atmosphere, and great food.

The food and atmosphere was good. I feel it has gotten a little pricey. They used to have it where you could have tea, milk or coffee included with your meal. The prices have gone up and if you include a drink with your meal, you are looking at about $18/person.

I wouldn’t recommend this place at all, staff rude and food mediocre at best. It was all very rushed with the mains coming out before we’d finished eating the starters. Staff were totally uninterested in us. The server was definitely only interested in a large tip but unfortunately we Brits only tip for good service and food which were totally lacking here.

Great service, quick meal presentation and the best pasta dish I've every had. So glad I stopped to eat there.

My wife and I requested an outside table. We were seated promptly. Our waiter was attentive at first. But then a fight broke out in the street, related to an event next door at the Hard Rock Hotel. Our waiter became unattentive, focused on the fight. Our main course arrived 1st. We sent it back, as we were waiting on our salads and appetizers. Our salads arrived next, followed by the appetizers. Right after the appetizers, our meals were brought back out. Apparently, these fights are routine on weekends. Recommendation: if you eat here on the weekend, eat inside.

This is probably the most reasonably priced Italian restaurant we ate at this week. I ordered lasagna for only $12.95 and it was huge and delicious! We were a group of 14 and they had no problem accommodating us. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Our waitress was thorough and quick. Some of the wines were also reasonably priced, compared to some of the other restaurants.

First time at this restaurant. Someone told me it is a chain. Service was very laid back. Our server seemed to be working very hard and was tipped extra. My guess is they stretched the servers too thin. A quirky part was the knife they give to cut the bread. It was not cutting the bread. The table near us was the same way. I thought it was a practical joke haha.

This place was recommended. We were disappointed. The portions were large enough but the food seemed to be lacking in flavor.

The Old Spaghetti Factory may be popular mainly for nostalgia, but it does have solid “Italian American” comfort food in a nice atmosphere and good service. The garlic bread is awesome, the spumoni with your meal is a great touch and all their pasta dishes hit the right notes. It’s not gourmet and you will likely have a lot of celebrations and loud parties around you, but in a way that’s what you should experience in a place like this and that’s comforting.

Here for Garth concert, like everyone else it seems. Wait wasn't to long for the crowds everywhere. Someone told us about senior menu while waiting. This a little cheaper and includes a drink, tea soda etc. The servings were perfect size and sauces delicous.

Pros: Our waiter was great and extremely nice! Which is why i'm giving 2 stars instead of just 1. Cons: Sewage smell inside the restaurant upon going up to the second floor. We knew the minute we walked in that we had made a terrible mistake eating here. The food was absolutely terrible - the quality of the meals was what you could expect getting from a teenager learning to cook for the first time. We ordered the Spicy Spaghetti Vesuvius and the Managers Special with mushroom sauce & the mizithra+browned butter. Extremely plain and salty. The mushroom sauce was just plain tomato sauce with a pile sautéed mushrooms dumped on top. We didn't even finish our meals after the first few bites. Salad was plain iceberg mix with dressing and croutons. Definitely a chain restaurant with a chain experience. If you're looking for quality Italian food, do yourself a favor and hard pass this place

Fair restaurant, good food! It’s a little away from the local tourist footprint. Dishes with a starter and dessert combo that are worth it.

The food we had was amazing but the service was lacking we were always waiting on something and we went in late I think the later it got the worse the service got. We had to ask for service twice. And I would recommend but maybe go earlier in the day and I hope you get better service but I’m sure the food will be good

Spaghetti Factory never really disappoints. It's always delicious and you know exactly what you're getting. No matter which Spaghetti Factory I'm in, it's always delicious and classic. The downtown setting of this Spaghetti Factory is really fun, and being so close to the ball park and Gaslamp area, there was a lot of people around. That being said, parking is a nightmare in this area so definitely plan ahead and get there a little early. No complaints about the food whatsoever. I was with family, a group of 8, and the server seemed to be serving us all on her own, which translated to slightly slower service than I'd hoped. However, the interior design of this Spaghetti Factory is a little more modern than some of the other one's I've been to so that was a nice surprise. Would definitely return.

Come here hungry because there is loads of delicious food awaiting you at moderate prices. Used to have this chain in Georgia, but sadly no more. Funky, cool atmosphere. Italian food with big portions and small prices. Hot bread and crispy salads. Delicious!

Food was kind of blah. Nothing wrong with it, but it wasn’t that good. Olive Garden is better. Recommend eating somewhere else in the gas lamp district.

Was in San Diego for a business trip and we were at the convention center looking for someplace to just get a quick dinner didn’t wanna break the bank. The spot is located in the gaslamp district. Just ate at the bar to make it quick. The service was good and the food was all prepared correctly. It’s a great atmosphere and once again the prices are right for the food.

My husband and I ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs and the Garlic Cheese Bread. After a stressful day of travel it was exactly what we needed! Was it the best Italian food we've had? No. But I wouldn't expect that from a chain. Everything tasted great and was a good comfort food meal. My only complaint is that we ordered delivery and I asked for 2 sets of silverware and we received none. Luckily our hotel pulled through for us! I would skip the Garlic Cheese Bread and just enjoy the bread that comes with the spaghetti!

We had an amazing dinner here! Loved the atmosphere. No wait to sit down and the food was very good. Bread was fresh and not so expensive to eat here like many other places.

The food has gone way down in Quality but the Prices have really gone Up. Service was lacking very badly. Very disappointed!!

This is a nice spot in the gaslight area. The food is purdy good, but like all food in cali a bit pricey for what you get. The restaurant itself is gorgeous. A beautiful building that creates an atmosphere. We have been going the OSF brand for years in Utah. Its good food, in a friendly atmosphere.

Came here for dinner during a very busy period. Despite the crowds the staff was attentive and was able to seat us quickly on the patio. The food was good, not great. Had the spaghetti with Italian Sausage and meat sauce.

It’s a beautiful building with great decor and it’s extremely clean. Our waitress was pleasant. The food was ok. I’ve had better bread from a grocery store and better meatballs at a potluck. I’d say that the atmosphere lends itself to just stopping in for a drink, but the drinks were not good. They tasted like premade, sugary kids drinks with alcohol added.

Great ambience and nice helpful stuff. Location is perfectly located, the food was delicious and high value for money. Will come back for sure!

Good service Reasonable prices for the huge dishes and menus. But foid was not really tasty.. Decoration was great..

The place is awesome! The atmosphere is amazing here. I love the multiple floors with bar upstairs. The service is wonderful. Try the cheese bread for an appetizer. Now it’s hard to mess up spaghetti in my opinion but then you can also create some amazing spaghetti and this place did!!! I definitely recommend coming here whether on a midday lunch or a nice evening dinner. Must try!!

Beautiful restaurant with outstanding food and service. Go to the Old Spaghetti Factory in the Gaslamp district of San Diego.

The Old Spaghetti Factory is a family favorite. We began eating there years ago when it had an old Trolley inside where you could sit and eat. All the furniture was antiques or antique like so you could be sitting inside of a bed frame for your meal. The kids would love it. So fast track to now and it is still a fun place to visit and eat. The tables are still different and some look like beds. No Trolley though. Our favorite order is the Manager's Favorite with Mizithra Cheese and rich meat sauce. We haven't found any other place that serves Mizithra like the Old Spaghetti Factory. The service is always very attentive and timely. Salads are well presented with fresh ingredients and several dressing choices. The Old Spaghetti Factory continues to be a fun place to visit and eat .

We were four friends having lunch. All of us were pleased with the food served, its not fine dining but completely ok. They´ve also got tables on the boardwalk so that you can check out the action on 5th while you´re eating.

Easy walk from our hotel and no wait upstairs at bar. Ordered the chicken pesto pasta. Pasta was perfectly cooked and delicious. Huge portions.

We stopped in to grab a late lunch and the food was great. It was right by our hotel. It is Kid friendly.

As we were flying home the next day we wanted something light so this place seemed great. The service wasn’t great although when our waitress came over to us she was brilliant !!! The food was nice although my main was slightly cold. Although the prices were extremely competitive !!!

I just arrive at the restaurant, a lot of tables avaiables , but they sitted us in front of the kitchen. Terrible smell and noise. I asked ti change for a goid table they denied. I went away to another place. I do not recommend. Just go to another nice place that take care of customers.

On a wander about we came across this place, the menu looked good and it was busy, all the staff were lovely and helpful. It’s a big place with a nice menu, they do a 3 course menu, this was salad or soup, bread, main meal and a ice cream. It’s really good value for money, the food was nice not the best pasta I have had but it was ok. The place was very busy and we had to wait 10 mins for a table, the service was very good and quick, there were a lot of children there. So if like us your not the biggest fan of lots of children like us you may think of eating later. We had a nice meal here and would recommend it.

Stopped before a Padres Game. Quick service. Small lunch menu but good delivered! Ranch dressing is house made and very good. Panini is good sized and comes with soup or salad and chips. Great kids menu, at least 12 options.

Made a reservation (on google!) and took 2 school-aged kids. They had the kids Mac and cheese. Unfortunately, they’re strong blue-box fans, but they liked this place. I had classic meat sauce- tasted homemade. Husband had clam sauce. Portions were reasonable- not ridiculously huge. We did have to pay more for things like a meatball, but the meal did include bread, soup and dessert - ice cream!

Our three boys all ordered macaroni and cheese. I would like to exclaim that they have never left food on their plates. The three politely stated they were full however, being unsure of that answer I tasted the macaroni once we took it home in our leftover boxes, the macaroni was Uncooked there was no cheese nor cheesy flavor and subsequently we tossed it. Unfortunately at $24 a bowl for macaroni and cheese. I felt very frustrated. Hope these are reviewed. Would love to receive a response

There is a bad musty smell as soon as you walk in. The garlic cheese bread was good and the service was fine but generally the food was bland. The salad had that bagged prewashed taste and came out wilted and brown. The spinach ravioli tasted like frozen pasta with a jarred sauce dumped on top. The seafood pasta was fishy didn’t taste fresh at all. The Alfredo was ok. We went here as my kids wanted to try it. However there are so many other better choices in this area so just do yourself a favour and go elsewhere.

My coworker and I had just attended a conference and she was getting ready to leave so we had lunch. She said she had eaten here before so I thought it was for going to knock my socks off...welp it didn’t. The restaurant was nice and very clean. When we entered no one was at the hostess stand. Odd.... someone came up after about a minute. The food was average. I ordered lasagna. I’ve made better at home. I wasn’t impressed. The salad was fresh and flavorful. The bread even lacked luster. I wouldn’t recommend.

Excellent service and wonderful food. Every single plate was tasty. We really enjoyed a Sunday lunch

Food was cold and tasted old. Service was horrible. What a waste of money. Highly recommend you find somewhere else. This place is not worth it.

At here on Monday March 06/2017. Beware, restaurant closes between lunch and dinner service with doors reopened at 1630hrs. I'm not sure how anyone can go wrong at any Old Spaghetti Factory, I certainly haven't. Service was attentive but not overly and the food was cooked perfectly. My go-to dish is the Misirtha cheese and brown butter. Usually I order the managers special which is 2 pasta dishes (1/2 n 1/2). Which I should have done again. As such, I found the Misirtha a bit dry ( No complaints, that's just it's profile). Great place for an incredibly affordable night out as an individual, couples or families. 2 course meal deal includes salad or soup, entree, spoumoni ice cream. Starting at approx 10$ up to 14 for pasta.

I had been to other Old Spaghetti Factories...so I had higher expectations. This location was, meh. Service was very good though!! I guess I was more disappointed in the decor...and food quality.

The food is very nice and they have nice beers on tap. The restaurant is huge, the interior could use an update though, the place is very dark inside.

Went here with a group of 7. Did have a reservation and were seated fairly quickly . We all ordered something different and everyone enjoyed their meal! Nice to get bread, a salad , an entree and dessert for a reasonable price. Would recommend and go back!

Enjoyed a fun family evening with good food and great service. Enjoyed the chicken Parmesan with a perfect chicken flavored with a beautiful melted cheese. Love the 3 course meal which provides soup or salad and desert. Parking was difficult downtown. Had to pay $5 to park. The atmosphere of The Old Spaghetti Factory is always fun.

We just got into town and decided to try this place after reading the reviews. I got the 3 course meal which included salad or soup , meal and dessert. I got the combo that included the lasagna and fettuccini Alfredo. I especially enjoyed the lasagna. We had garlic cheese bread and was so good. Would def. come here again. We had an amazing waiter and the food was so good.

Typical Olive Garden way better execution. Ordered cheese bread also to make up for the doughy bread. $100 4 people omg

We stopped by during the Comic-Con event and had a great lunch. Food, service and price were all great. We'll be stopping by soon to enjoy another great meal.

Food was good for the price. Good atmosphere for family and friends. Eat on first floor, more family orientated. Good for special occasions And parties.

After being shown to it table we were ignored by the waiters for about 15 mins. Eventually had to ask for some service. When we finished dinner the waiter gave us dessert without taking it dinner plates away. I was even bought my final drink when we were just about to leave. A shambles

I dined here with my partner whilst on holiday from the UK. Initially I was unable to make a reservation online so assumed it was very busy. However they took the booking over the phone. When we arrived the staff asked if we wanted to wait for a booth which we said we did. They then suggested we may want to go to the bar area to eat which we didn’t. We were then taken through to a booth and there appeared to be others also free. The restaurant wasn’t very busy so it was all a bit confusing. The food was excellent however the main courses arrived as we were still eating the salads and the waitress seemed taken aback when I asked to keep it! We had to ask to have a dessert and felt the staff wanted us out well before closing time. The food is very good value for money and the interior of the restaurant is lovely.

Kelli was an awesome server and went above and beyond to find info on a wine I was interested in and went on to rally the employees to come sing happy birthday to my daughter for her 8th birthday

SO good. I can't walk away from the managers special which allows a choice of two pasta toppings! My favorite Mazithra and next white clam sc. YUM!! Bread and salad (pesto dressing) and spumante ice cream!! House chianti always good. A favorite go to! OH and great GF pasta cooked PERFECTLY!!

We were seated in a very nice upstairs area. The second floor. Service was very good. I had the typical spaghetti with meatballs. Very good. We went early before the dinner hour and no problem getting seated. Upon leaving there were several people waiting for a table.

Stopped in for a Friday lunch. Have always loved the mizithra with pasta. Food was great, but service was slow and they weren’t busy.

It had been many years since I had eaten at a Old spaghetti Factory, so I was happy to find this one in SD. The food and atmosphere was just as good as I remembered from the old days.

The potpourri is always a favorite! Good food at reasonable prices. Be careful if you order beer on tap. I was served a 20 oz. beer which was too much for me. Be sure to select your size or you could be “super sized”. I usually order wine so this never happened before on past visits here. Nevertheless, this restaurant is always fun to eat at!

Truly one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. I don’t even know where to start... The service was near nonexistent, appeared untrained and confused at best. A while after finally placing our order the salad finally came. The salad was very average and on the edge of fresh enough to serve. The bread was one of the bright spots as well as well as the “factory punch”. The food arrived after the food runners made the rounds with my meal offering it to several tables as they had no idea where it was supposed to go. That was the trend with every order they delivered, I never have seen anything like it. I simply had spaghetti with “mushroom sauce” with a meatball added. The “mushroom sauce” was simply marinara with a couple of sautéed mushrooms tossed on top, the sauce appeared to be straight out of the can, the meatball was actually decent. One of the food runners took up a spot at a neighboring table as if she were a customer rather than an employee. After the waitress confirmed we were finished the check arrived about 15 minutes later. Our appetizer was on there twice. The waitress was going to fix it, she was gone 15 minutes. I finally caught up with a manager who stammered around finally getting the bill correct. The food runner who was sitting with other customers scattered. Seriously the food quality is comparable to be that of if Burger King if they were to start serving pasta. Perhaps it was a bad night, but in all honesty I seriously doubt that after our experience.

Not even for hangover food. The spaghetti was dry and like dorm food. The dessert was bad ice cream.

There was a long wait for the regular tables. But no wait at all upstairs in the lounge area. Pro-tip: the lounge is very big with regular tables. Great service. You will never feel like you are in a bar. Wasn’t noisy or crowded at all. Food was very good. I had the chicken piccata with angel hair. Was excellent. Had deep fried ravioli for an appetizer and minestrone soup. Loved the sourdough bread. All was very good. Our server was very friendly and cheerful & attentive. Overall I would certainly come back. I would recommend if you crave Italian food.

We were on a very large business group visit to here. So we were taken upstairs to eat and drinks. This was our first time here and the interior is truly gorgeous and lovely! Our drink choices for beers were many and lots of IPAa’s. Since we were a very large business group we were only given three entree choices which were fine with us. I had a spaghetti meat plate that cam with large meatballs and sausages. It was very good choice. The price was very reasonable also. I’d definitely recommend coming here again and I’d try to sit downstairs to look at the interior beauty. Our service staff that waited on us upstairs did a wonderful job and they should know this. Our business trip was at 6pm on 08/21/18. Thanks

Four of us went for an early lunch yesterday. Shown to to a table right away, service was excellent and the food never disappoints! The managers favorite with marinara & mizithra was delicious. All of us enjoyed our 3 course meals.

We had great food and service!! The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce was flavorful. The dinner salad was the right size and the bread was hot and fresh. Delicious!!! The price was right too.

We ate here the one night we were in San Diego. I had eaten at their outlet in Winnipeg and really liked the food. Basically you get a main course but included is a choice of soup or salad plus ice cream dessert. Not a bad deal. The restaurant is quite large, with good decor and located in a nice area of the Gaslamp Quarter. The service throughout was friendly and helpful. The food was good and the portions were generous. I would visit this chain again.

Was recently in San Diego on business and was wandering in the Gaslight District and suddenly it was dinnertime. There are tons of eateries around there, but seeing their familiar logo which disappeared from my hometown of Hollywood years ago, I had a jones for their Mizithra cheese and butter pasta. Haven't had it in forever but it was exactly as I remembered with all the salty, rich cheesy goodness, the best thing on their menu. Comes with soup, bread, and ice cream, such a deal. This OSF was clean, service was attentive, the bill was accurate, the wait staff came around if you signaled, and when I was there it was not too noisy. Men's bathroom was clean and tidy. If you're looking for haute cuisine and over the top ambience, this ain't for you. But if you want a satisfying plate of tasty carbs that's also family friendly, it's hard to go wrong stopping in here.

Sat outside and the waitress seemed a bit lost and overwhelmed. Food was just average at best. Had the chicken Alfredo. The dish had almost no sauce made the dish dry and the pasta was tough.

Had dinner here. Great fast service, food was pretty good. Not a vast menu but not too bad. Nice to be able to select which sauce to have according to which pasta you opt for

The OSF is a chain. It is the war horse of family vacation dining. Located in the heart of San Diego’s vibrant Gaslamp District, you could easily pass the OSF for more inspired regional fare. But should you drop in, you’ll not be disappointed. The decor is a bit dark and dated. It’s COVID friendly, but not overdone. This is where you take your family or meet friends before a Padres game. Our server Wesley was an inspiration. Some people have an engagement to their personality that cannot be taught. He made an otherwise humdrum experience into something memorable. As for the food, there was plenty of it and it was well prepared. Perhaps a bit banquet in style. But the prices were reasonable and the value much appreciated. But be warned, the Gaslamp is busy on game day.

Quality of food is rather sub-standard. Bulk cooking. Think there are much better restaurants around San Diego.

The lettuce in my salad was brown. The sauce in the lasagne I ordered was watery. The tea was tasteless. We were told we would wait 45 minutes but the restaurant had empty table everywhere(?)

great for the money, one of the last left in the chain, I think. lots of Italian food for a great price.

Great value Main was super tasty & ice cream came free with meal deal on offer. Would recommend the restaurant if your in the area, good value for money and quality was good.

Awesome food. Great service and beautiful location. For the mechanical peeps, all of the exposed MEP EQUIPMENT was awesome. The spaghetti was phenomenal and don’t forget the cheese bread!

It's all about the sauce, sauce sauce... You can taste the old recipe and premium ingredients. I must have at here 5 times as I spend 10 days here attending an esri conference staying at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Great value for your money. My kids love it. Food is consistent. My favorite is the Managers Special where you can order two different pasta dishes. I get the spaghetti with browned butter and Mythira Cheese and the Spaghetti with mushroom tomato sauce!

The ambience is very old world charm with antique looking decor. We love Italian food but we didn’t enjoy our pasta dishes as much as we did at another restaurant. We ordered garlic cheese bread, not realizing every meal comes with a whole loaf of sourdough bread, that looked delicious. We enjoyed Italian sodas served in souvenir glasses.

Server was excellent and efficient. Lots of pasta food options. The 3 course option is incredible. Definitely recommend this place.

It's kinda family restaurant with very reasonable prices. However, tend to think it has lost all the authentic Italian touch. The spaghetti dishes are American twisted. It's okay, just that it's not what we expected. The service was okay and there were a lot of people queuing for tables. So, better make reservations or go there early.

Love the atmosphere of old spaghetti factory. Portions are huge. Food was good. Not amazing but good. I’ve cream at the end is a nice bonus

Ho Hum. Waitress was in a hurry with hardly any quests. No waiting for tables...… Had the managers favorite, and was not impressed. Salad was iceberg lettuce with runny blue cheese dressing. Bread was blah with greasy butter spread. Wine was undrinkable.

Being from the UK we had no previous experience with this chain, but would happily eat here again! The restaurant itself was busy, yet clean and tidy. Our server was happy to answer any questions we had and offer some suggestions which were much appreciated. All of the staff gave excellent service and the food came out in no time at all! Their offer of each main course being a 3 course meal is a great idea which meant that our bill was pretty small compared to the amount of food we were given.

Stumbled really on this place as the family wanted italian and this was the first place we came across. So glad we did, the place was packed but they said if we were happy with the top floor they could accomodate us. We all had different meals after a starter of soup or salad, the soup was excellent. We were all very hapoy with our meals, tasted very good and a good size. All finished off with ice cream, great value for down town 3 course meal. Server was flustered and did his best but did every thing in a very friendly way. Would highly recommend with families.

My wife and I, on our 6th day of vacation in San Diego, wanted something different than seafood or Mexican, so settled on Italian. The Old Spaghetti Factory was our choice. This restaurant is located in the Gaslight District of San Diego, and the dining area is well decorated for the neighborhood. The decorum is absolutely beautiful. My wife was taking pictures before we even got in the door. Ok, so great mood setting environment, but we were there for the food. I am not really a fan of pasta, but my wife loves it. Fortunately, I found a dish that sounded good - meat lovers treat. It did not disappoint. Delicious and filling. My wife had the crab ravioli and said it was wonderful. We also had the cotton candy limeade drink... just for fun. Both meals came with a salad (or soup) and Spinoni ice cream (or vanilla). Plenty of food. Fantastic service. Very reasonable prices. This was a 5 star experience for us.

This is always a great meal and so filling! We enjoyed our pasta dishes, salads, and dessert! It's nice and air conditioned.

I had memories of eating at the Old Spaghetti Factory with my mom and sister; thus making the decision to have dinner. The service was a little slow and it took about 10-15 minutes for my server to my order. The items on the menu brought back memories and I went with the Mizithra Cheese and Brown Butter pasta. I also ordered a side of broccoli. The pasta was rice and full of butter. Great atmosphere and the staff was attentive once they got to me.

Signed in upon arrival land got passed by several who had arrived after us. We finally presented ourselves to the waitress and were seated quickly. Had the pasta with marinara sauce and the sauce was very acidic. I ate maybe a third. The sourdough bread was very sour but the minestrone was VERY good!!

It’s a good sized chain, 45 or so restaurants in the US and abroad. The food is cheap and innocuous. Corporate style Italian. A good place for families with young children. Or for people afraid of genuinely Italian food. The food wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t right. Romano where there should have been Parmesan, things like that. But yes, friendly service, adequate portions, all that. We ate there by mistake, a mistake we won’t repeat.

What can we say. We enjoyed our dinner. The server Wesley was spot on checking in on us to check that we were doing fine. It was about 72 dollars w tip for both of us. This included drinks.

Our server, Ashton, was amazing. His suggestion of pesto and red sauce on the lasagna was delicious. Even though he was the only server upstairs with 10 full tables (30 guests easy), he still made us feel welcome and served us with a smile . My husband got the meat lovers enjoyed every bite. The orange and chocolate shakes were a great way to end the meal.

We were looking for good pasta and normally that includes good bread, one out of two ain’t bad! Actually my husband said his Garlic Shrimp Pasta was terrific. My Chicken Breast Fettuccine was average but we both thought the bread was awful! It was over toasted and for Sour Dough, it was too tart. Perhaps my waistline is happy I didn’t like it. Our server, Ben from Az, was fantastic!

Good (not great) food. These used to be all over the country but still exist in CA. Nice building, couldn't get in the dining room without a 15 minute wait so ate in the bar. Just as good as the dining room without the crowd. Shame this chain closed all their locations in TX.

It is really hard to write a review about a place that right before you go there you see a homeless guy doing his business on the sidewalk and another one cleaning his infected feet but I will try; typical can to table food place with a nice staff and high prices. Sorry but I just can’t believe the businesses can’t stop the homeless issues or else your business will die.

We ate a big satisfying meal in the evening for only $ 70 for four people, including a first course of salad / soup, a main course and an ice cream dessert - all for the main course only. The prices are relatively cheap and the food is excellent. It is highly recommended!!!

Great food, great service(waiter Dan), and not too pricey. Great atmosphere. Will come again if I'm visiting San Diego. Highly recommended. Must try if you visit San Diego!

Visited this restaurant for dinner. They have a three course deal on most of the entrees. You can order an entree with salad and a dessert. The complimentary bread provided is excellent. We ordered Shrimp Scampi as appetizer that comes with backed bread points. For main entree we had Crab Ravioli. The taste was very good but it lacked in amount of sauce. The warm bread provided is very big in size and we saw that on most of the tables people could only finish half or two thirds and rest goes to waste. They should decrease the size because it can be ordered again if desired.

Stopped in for lunch. The service is friendly and fast. No one in my party thought this place was outstanding. I had veal piccata which really looked and tasted like veal bruschetta. The cheese they put on top was really good.

Great location in the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego. This is not fine dining, it is a chain, but it is a good one. The dishes are reasonably priced, the service was friendly and quite quick. Great value for money. We were there as a couple, and to both eat a 3 course meal for a total bill of about $60 including a tip was very good. If I had kids with me, would certainly recommend for a family dinner. All the pasta dishes are recommended. We went once, were impressed, and then came back another night, so that says something. It's not Cordon Bleu, but it's good healthy food. Worth a visit.

I liked spaghetti factory so much in Toronto that usually I would go several times. But here in San Diego oh! Boy service was mediocre and so was food.

Excellent food at a reasonable price. Most meals are $20 or less and include salad, sourdough bread and spumoni or vanilla ice cream.

We visited on opening day weekend for the Padres so we thought it was going to be a long wait but the hostess quoted us 15-20 minutes. We had a hard time at the Hilton Bayfront up the street and we were getting pretty hungry. We were sat within the quoted time at and placed in Ashton’s section to be waited on. He instantly welcomed us and knelt down at the table between the kids to meet them eye-level. He made great banter with the two of our kiddos and commented on their drawings. I ordered the lasagna and Ashton suggested making it red and green (different types of sauces on top). So I happily went along with the recommendation and oh my gosh, I’m so glad I did! The lasagna melted in my mouth! My husband reached over for a bite and he slumped in his chair with pure bliss when it hit his tastebuds! :) From the hostess to the check, we had a wonderful experience!

Food was good. Service pretty good. Bread tasty and nice that all meals are 3 courses (four if you count bread). Good downtown location. Would recommend.

Food here is average. The brown butter pasta has a lot of flavor but way too rich for me, so I got the mix pasta with the meat sauce and brown butter to balance the strong taste. The atmosphere and decor is great so if you are looking for somewhere to dine at that’s nice then go here but if you are looking for a place that is inexpensive then don’t go.

I want couple of time to this place and the food was very good. At lunch timr you can pick a package that includes appetizer, main lunch and dessert for a run twenty bucks. Chicken parmigiana was excelent, just make sure you make reservation because the place is always full. The restaurant environment is very nice

Not sure why I thought the food would be great but I did. After a long day at a conference I was looking forward to a delicious bowl of pasta. The salad was blah. Just an iceberg mix like you’d get in a bad at the grocery store. I had the half mizithra half white clam. The white clam was thick and gluey. The mizithra was dry and chalky. So many other restaurants in the area; this would not be on the top of my return list

We have a delicious meal which was value for money. We had a 3 course meal for approx $14. My girls loved the pasta.

I believe people go to the Old Spaghetti Factory for one of two reasons: (1) they can easily accommodate a huge party for removably priced food or (2) they grew up in the Midwest in an era where this was their Chuckie Cheese. Tonight I fall within category 2. The Chuckie Cheese analogy is purposeful as no one goes to Chuckie Cheese because the pizza is awesome. The food at Old Spaghetti Factory is plain, simple comfort food without surprise. Heck yeah the lettuce is iceberg with little/no real taste. So was my Mom’s as I was growing up - this was long before they sold multiple salad varieties in bagged form. It’s fine - get over it. The food is flavored to appeal to the masses , making sure nothing is overly salty or spicy. A level above frozen Stoeffers with a homemade touch of someone opening up a jar of Prego and adding a bit of parsley and oregano . It’s filling - and it’s good, not great - but totally satisfying. The payoff is the spumoni at the end of the meal, along with the memories of your Mom having to chase you around a similar restaurant in the chain when you were a toddler. Go here to recall memories or to make some new ones - either way is good.

Brilliant food. Easy to book great atmosphere and great prices. Staff very friendly. Well worth a visit if visiting San Diego

My husband and I continued to celebrate our anniversary and we read the reviews and decided to give it a try. We shared the lasagna, salad, and meatballs. The lasagna was very good, meatballs were tender. When we were leaving Barrett the manager asked if we enjoyed our dinner and we mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary and he gave us a to go bag of dessert. Such a sweet gesture, he was super friendly and we won't forget how he mad us feel on our anniversary. When we return to San Diego we will come back to this restaurant.

We have been here over the years many times. This was the best time to date. Our server was excellent. She brought us refills right as we were finishing our drinks. Our food was great just like we expected! Even with comic con we got a table quickly and got done quickly.

Situated on the Gaslamp (as it is known locally) an excellent eatery, tremendous VFM and good food! A few years since visit but I would love to go back! 11 out of 10!

You don’t have the option to not order soup and salad when you want only the pasta. The server was nice and took our order fast but the hosts were terrible, they have a super technology for taking reservations and they forget about the treatment to families who are waiting : look at the people not the screen.

Food was delicious, and the portions were generous. Atmosphere was lovely. The service staff was friendly and helpful. It was near the ballpark (Petco Park) so we walked to it after the game and then directly to the parking garage afterward. It was our first meal in San Diego and my husband and I were glad we chose it.

Stopped by here as just wanted something filling. When we first entered we thought there was going to be a long wait as lots of people waiting, we spoke to the welcomer who really confused us by saying we could wait for a booth upstairs or there should be a table downstairs. We opted for the table downstairs, we could see upstairs which was empty so we were left scratching our heads with what she advised. Server was great, loved the bread and the pasta portion was massive. Possibly enough for 2/3. I skipped out on the dessert but the other half enjoyed. Would visit again

Fabulous. We had never been to one, and were looking for a nice place that actually served food after 9 pm. We sat at the bar, watched the football game, and enjoyed a wonderful meal (chicken parm, caesar salad). The bartender's service was polite and professional. The menu lists the calorie count of each item, and so the chicken parm was a normal, not super, size portion. The red wine by the glass, the fresh Italian bread, and even the ice cream were all very wonderful accoutrements. The decor is classy, understated, and clean and the prices were exceptionally reasonable, especially compared to other restaurants in the Gaslight location. This is also so much better than the Newport Beach location.

Thoroughly enjoyed the garlic mizithra and the Sicilian meatballs. The unlimited bread was delicious, but we ate too much. Service was great.

The food is amazing here. The wait staff were very courteous and attentive. The pastas I believe is freshly made there daily or at least it sure taste like it did. I have the chicken piccata and the chicken was moist and juicy not dry and hard like some "Italian" places. Would definitely go there again if we go back to San Diego.

We enjoyed our first visit to the Old Spaghetti Factory. We chose the 3 course meal, minestrone soup and fresh bread for starters, fettuccine for main and vanilla ice cream for dessert. All food was quick to come out and tasted good. The service was really good. We were served by Barrett who is cheery and very attentive. The restaurant was very busy and the atmosphere was nice. Would return if we ever make it back to San Diego

They charged me more for more sauce, the food is horrible and overpriced. They give you a ton of extra drinks and crap to disguise the horrible greediness. The restaurant itself is neat but overpriced and scummy. 0/10

Nice spot in the Gaslamp district, that attracts a lot of tourists, but frankly not spectacular food. There are a lot of other better places to eat in the district. Atmosphere is great, if that's what you want, but for better gourmet food, make another choice

The salad lettuce was little wilted and not as fresh as it could have been Service was good and value for money good I thought you got seconds as we were always offered in Portland Oregon but maybe that has changed French bread was not great sour dough like it should be no option for great wheat French bread

We visited the old spaghetti factory at different locations in Canada and we appreciated that the great quality was consistent. The menu also has gluten free options!

I visited The Old Spaghetti Factory while on business in SD and it did not disappoint. It was a great value for the money with excellent atmosphere and fast service. I would visit this location again.

Good Italian spaghetti in the centre of Gaslamp district. The pasta is just right, the source almost Italian standards and the atmosphere is superb.

I got the brown butter pasta and it was delicious! I would definitely recommend. My server was excellent and offered great selections.

DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME We went for dinner and once we went in it was quiet but didn’t think anything of it. We ordered and our waiter was nice and I feel sorry she has to work there. The crème sodas were nice but the pasta was horrible, old, dry. The cheese in the one was grainy and horrible, another was meant to a meat pasta but it was pasta with a lump of tomato sauce, one sausage on the side and a meatball, the lasagna was ok but had little meat and was mostly a pile of dry pasta with some tomato sauce. Please don’t waste your time is it was not a nice experience. There are other nice Italians on the same road. Try them not here.

Stopped off here for a bite to eat after a day in SD. All entree come with bread, soup or salad and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. I had chicken piccata with angel hair pasta, delicious taste, my husband had chicken fettuccine and was very impressed with flavour of his entree, my brother in law had chicken Marsala and again said flavour was really good. Our server Jackie was really good, albeit very busy. I also had bonus of a free glass due to fact I had a cream soda. All in all, great value and really good foods

We had 12 in our family group, five adults and seven children, and we were accommodated eagerly, with excellent customer service. The three-course meal options were ideal for the children. The spaghetti is delicious.

The location and look of the restaurant were interesting (in the Gas Lamp District & fascinating building.) We had a group of 12 for an early dinner on an uncrowded, un-busy evening and yet our server hardly attended to our table. We had difficulty getting additional drinks and water. We were all visiting from out of town and chose the location as there was a child in our party and we thought the atmosphere would be comfortable for him; it waf fine on that account. We all thought the menu was inadequate. Clearly it is a pasta heavy restaurant (Spaghetti Factory, we get it!) but our options for healthier choices were limited. We don't plan to eat here again; the food was mediocre and on that night the service was poor. (We did express our displeasure to the MOD and he took responsibility for giving his server too many tables; we appreciated his acknowledgement, but that didn't change our experience.)

The good was pretty good and inside is super fun! It is in a nice spot and we were able to be seated as a large group. it was worth the money and a good amount of food

My daughter loves Italian food so for her birthday we decided to try the spaghetti factory in its new location. We had a beautiful dinner which was made better by our amazing server Kenzie. She was warm, provided excellent service and made my daughter feel very special . We were all impressed with the quality of the food and the prices . The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, parking was easy and we will definitely be coming back more frequently, hopefully we will be in Kenzies section again!

Mediocre... the starter salad seemed plain and served out of a prepackaged iceberg lettuce mix. My cheese and spinach ravioli plate looked (texture) and tasted like a prefrozen pasta. Servings are small and expensive for the quality
Delicious
The food and service was delicious. We had the pasta with the Greek Myzithra cheese. Leaves you craving more
