I live in Leander, TX and we were in the area for a soccer game... I found this place had great reviews and was close to the park so we stopped in. My family of 5 waited 30 mins to be seated which one reason I rated 4. It's a small place for a popular place.. never mind that, once we were seated the service was on point.. my parents ordered omelets that looked amazing. Also the burnt Rd was tasty. My kids ate potato leaky soup and it was a winner. The home fries were delish.. come stop by this stop it will not disappoint!

A couple of months ago, I wanted to try out the Omeletry but when I entered the parking lot, a handwritten sign on a piece of paper on the door read "Cash Only" - well that was a big enough turnoff for me to back out of the parking lot and go elsewhere. Yesterday, after going to two venues that only serve breakfast on the weekends, we called the Omeletry from a venue next door to enquire whether or not it was still "Cash Only" and indeed it was. However, they conveniently had an ATM machine which appeared a bit outdated but it was functional. Years ago, I took an Evelyn Wood Speed Reading Course and it paid off yesterday. It didn't take long to peruse the menu and decide what I wanted. I ordered the Popeye (Fresh spinach, crisp bacon and sautéed onions inside a three egg cheese omelet topped with sour cream) and a short stack of buttermilk pancakes. It was one of the best omelets that I've had in awhile. The only thing missing was a nice Bloody Mary, for digestive purposes. I was informed that they will be moving sometime in the near future and credit/debit cards will be accepted at the new location.

Great breakfast menu, fab blt with avocado. The soups are homemade. The prices are cheap, the service quick. They only take cash, no checks or credit cards.

Love the new location on Airport Boulevard--tons of parking!! Inside is pretty much classic diner look with the interesting wait staff. My favorite omelet, the Popeye, has been right on the money on both visits.

Place was super busy and yet the staff stayed calm and friendly. Omelet was good and the whole wheat pancakes were awesome. Coffee cup always filled and a great experience!

We enjoyed our breakfast at the Omlettry. The ginger pancakes , an old standby, we're so good. Beware, they are huge! My eggs were barely lukewarm. Service was not good. My husband ordered ginger pancakes and received regular ones. After waiting 10 minutes for her to check back with us, my husband went to the counter to get the order corrected. There was no apology. The waitress just did not appear to care.

The Omelettry is a great place for a laid back leisurely Hippie breakfast. The atmosphere is a flashback to the 1960s, with all of the 'left-wing rags', stacks of Austin.Chronicles, bargain basement furnishes and savory smells of bacon frying coming from the kitchen. The specialty is three egg omelettes of every denomination known to man. Also featured are pancakes festooned with fresh berries, fresh cream butter, and syrup. The prices are very reasonable and this establishment has been in continuous operation for decades on N. Burnet Road. The food is good, portions generous, coffee fair, and the wait staff are Way Cool, OK! Check it out and arrive hungry! Tim High Austin, TX

I really miss the old Omelettry on burnet road. Staff is still great, always friendly and very attentive. This new location has no acoustics so it's very loud when busy, which is often. The link sausage today were pedestrian and the scrambled eggs were blah. But the pancakes were delicious!

My favorite place to meet my daughter for Sunday brunch is Omelettry. It has the funky old Austin decor & friendly wait staff and great food.

Excellent place to have a serious breakfast. Fresh and delicious. They make superb omelettes . The serving is good enough to last a person till late evening. Will recommend this place to any one.

This is one of those small, unassuming places that make Austin what it is. Anywhere else, it probably wouldn't work. But here, it is a must-do. It's just a small diner-type space along Burnet Road with a very small kitchen. It's open for breakfast & lunch. Closes at 5:00. There are long lines & waits on weekends. But it is worth the wait. Service is very friendly. I visited on a weekday & had the best omelet I have ever had, anywhere, anytime, hands-down: Nice big chunks of ham & fresh vegetables, lots of melted gooey cheese, perfectly balanced & cooked eggs. The person with me had gingerbread pancakes: Light & airy and so flavorful. And since it was a weekday, there was no wait! Location is changing in the fall of 2014...I just hope the quirkiness & all the great qualities go along in the move!

Ready for breakfast? The Omelettry may be one of your best bets. Its been around a long time. Its at a new location, looks a bit classier than before as it has too been impacted by the growth and change in Austin. What hasn't changed was the quality. Enjoy the Omelettry.

The best omelettes - made with three eggs and a variety of other delicious ingredients - my favorite is the mushroom omelette plus spinach. The huevos are great. - I prefer scrambled with corn tortillas. The pancakes are ... ruinous. You will wish for these pancakes at odd times in your life, not just when you are having inferior (read all other) pancakes, but also in times of stress, during your best friend's wedding and when contemplating a career change. Great service. This place IS Austin. If you don't get it, you don't get Austin.

I had the eggs Benedict. They use queso sauce instead of hollandaise and it was amazing. Very cool and fun interior. A Definite if you're looking for breakfast. But they also have a full menu of great stuff.

The Omelettry is the place to go for a taste of old Austin. Since the seventies hearty breakfast and traditional cuisine has been served to countless devotees who return and wait in line for the experience. Substantial omelettes are their trade mark but the other menu options are well prepared. The food is good and the decor unique. Frequently changing art displays. Definitely casual. Go while it's still there!

this was stated to be the best for breakfast in Austin, so had to try it, obviously a place where locals eat, great breakfast, great service, good value

Mmm had the omelet with spinach, bacon and cheese and it was great also the pancakes are delicious we came back for a second time! very patient with kids!

Hello hello. The truth is that I expected something better due to the good ratings of the place and I found a delicious place, but nothing extraordinary.

Don't know if they moved or have a new location but we ate a the Omelettry on Airport Blvd. Food and service were great. Omelet's were large and lots of fillings. Pancakes were GREAT.

Those that have lived here since the olden days, let's say the 1970's, know the Omelettry as the daddy of many a famous place to eat. You can learn about that from the menu. The old location was a hoot, and the new location is on the new hot spot of Airport Blvd. Same great food. The name doesn't say it all as you will find great pancakes here as well as some great egg creations. Nice place, no fuss.

Great breakfast, in a classic "Keep Austin Wierd" atmosphere. Tons of omlette options, excellent pancakes (esp. the gingerbread) and friendly service. Light on the tex-mex, if that's what you're looking for, but for classic breakfast fare, this is my favorite place in Austin.

Loved the food! I had seen a review that talked about the gingerbread pancakes and I am so glad I tried one! They have a short stack of two pancakes (which was plenty for my husband) and a regular order of 3. My husband ordered the 3 pancakes consisting of 2 buttermilk and 1 gingerbread. He had them mix in pecans in all 3. There are 5 or six other 'mix-ins' like chic chips. I loved the gingerbread and pecan pancake. My husband really liked the crunchy outside of the buttermilk pecan pancakes. They did not skimp on the pecans either! We also ordered a guacamole omelet with two sides, potatoes and cantaloupe. The omelet was very good. The avocado/tomato/ and cheese filling was plentiful and well seasoned! The potatoes were chunky skillet browned and were ok. They had a choice of 7 or 8 fresh fruits. I chose the cantaloupe which was sweet and a nice sized serving. I loved that all of their fruit was fresh and individual fruits versus a mixed fruit bowl. Our total bill, including coffee and hot tea (again they had a variety of options and I chose mint), was $21 with tax. We were unable to eat half of the omelet and potatoes. We managed to eat all of the luscious pancakes! Btw - you can get a short stack with any omelet and forgo the other sides. That would have been an adequate amount of food for my husband and me.

Found this place on Tripadvisor. We only spent a night in Austin, but it was clearly the best meal we had there. The place looks kinda cool, almost a hippie vibe. The French Toast was excellent. Lots of toast choices, the reg breakfast was really tasty. Prices were reasonable for the quality. My kids also ate everything in front of them. Get the coffee in the pot, it was better tasting.

Be careful how many times you say 'yes' to the coffee refill! Breakfast was great. There was a wait for a table, but not terribly long. Vegetarian options. Friendly staff. We were traveling with suitcases, and there wasn't a lot of space to stash them here, but the staff figured it out for us.

We had a Popeyes favorite with cottage cheese and a chili con queso with avocado, you can choose soups, potatoes, toasts, so many sides. Our food was good, staff was pleasant and they are not stingy with the servings. Kids would love it too.

We needed a table of seven, so our wait was even longer than what others are saying is an uncomfortable wait. My thought is that if you have to wait then the food must be worth it. I wanted a privately owned breakfast joint with great food. BINGO!! The Omelettry is all that. Our food was not only good but the omelettes are of the three egg variety so you will not go away hungry. The fruit was fresh and the home fried potatoes were perfectly cooked. I would say have an omelette with potatoes!! The french toast (via my wife) was really good and they even filled our coffees.

We ate here on a Saturday around noon, but ordered breakfast items. Eggs (both scrambled and fried) were tasty, but bacon tasted old and rancid. French toast was tasty, but pancakes (wheat) tasted funny like the flour was too old. I don't think we will come back.

Absolutely one of the best breakfasts we’ve had while traveling. Top to bottom…coffee, food, ambiance, service, quality of food, price! Everything hit the marks. The restaurant was busy. We were seated promptly. Drinks arrived within seconds. Order was placed and food came out fast. Generous food portions for the price. $30 for two people with drinks…can’t beat the price in Austin. Coffee is ground fresh and roasted specific for the restaurant. Great little spot for breakfast. Don’t be discouraged by the part of town when driving to the location. Great gem in a strip-shopping center. Plenty of free parking! I wish I would have taken photos when the food arrived but there wasn’t enough left on the plates to post when we were finished! :)

Had a miserable trip to Austin on a college search trip. Hotels expensive. We ended up in Marriott- University area one. Not great. This place, the Omelettry was nearby and highly rated Since my son loves omelets we took a chance. Disappointing. I have never had an omelet where I was asking myself, where are the eggs? I had a bacon and cheese omelet. It was packed with bacon, little cheese, and literally the thinnest shell of overcooked eggs you can imagine. My son had an omelet that had spinach in it, along with bacon. It was disgusting too. Breakfast potatoes- do not bother. Only redeeming factor was the coffee- my first cup in 2 days- it tasted good. People not friendly either. Our waitress was ok (another tatoo lady), but I would not recommend this place. I seriously would have gone to Dennys there- probaby a better and cheaper alternative, especially with a family. Sorry Austin. Won't be back for UT or Barton Springs Pool either. Glad we checked out the area before signing on to school. Really had hoped for Western hospitality, as have been to other parts of Texas that were wonderful. Didn't get it. Heard one "y'all" the only time we were there. It was charming though!

Fantastic breakfast!! We found this on TripAdvisor, thank you!! And we knew it must be fantastic when there was a line already at 8:30. Both our omelette Were delicious as well as our pancakes!! I never eat pancakes but the blueberry pancakes were just too tempting. The staff was super friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the omelettry!!

I called an order in for an “Our Eggonomical” with a side of extra bacon. It was delicious and perfect breakfast meal. Bacon was cooked nice and crisp while the pancakes were fluffy and flavorful. Definitely a local gem.

Love everything about this place! First visit here and we had to wait a bit, but it was worth it. Funky decor, mom and pop feel, great solid breakfast. Will make this our “go to” place for breakfast in Austin when we visit.

When you think about a breakfast place, some greasy spoon pops into your head. This isn't that. While they have some of the same fare, the non-standard things stick out and elevate it. Potatoes and black beans with eggs? You'll like these. Service was super quick and friendly, and the portions are huge. We ordered 2 plates, but shouldn't have, neither of us were able to finish it.

After picking our son at the Airport, we earned a breakfast. My wife chose the place and it was great, service more than kind and at my own time. Breakfast was delicious, we had the Popeye’s Omelet that came with pancakes, that were great by them selfs. Definitely a place we will come back

Absolutely lovely, ultra fluffy pancakes and the LARGEST chunks of ham I've ever seen in an omelette. (This is a very good thing.) The cheese in the omlette is super creamy and tasty too. 10/10. Would eat at again.

Recently had a family brunch here. This cafe has been around for years and is family owned. It is small, so you may have to wait. However, it is worth the wait! Our waitress was Arial, and she was awesome! Our glasses were never empty. She knew the menu very well and was able to guide our choices. The portions were huge; enough for two meals unless you were really hungry. The food was fresh and excellent! My side of fruit wasn't a made-ahead syrupy compote, but freshly-cut oranges and cantaloupe. Again, large amounts. We chose this place over a chain restaurant and were so glad we did! This will be a new favorite location when we visit.

Family-owned diner with quite a history serving up delicious omelets and other breakfast items in a laid-back setting with a cool and funky vibe.

Acting on the recommendation of a nurse at St. David's Hospital we stopped by the Omelettry for breakfast before beginning our 6-hour drive home. The Spanish Omelet was well prepared and zesty, but the side of bacon was paper thin and flavorless. The Ham and Cheese Omelet was well filled with diced ham and cheese and was quite flavorful. The buttermilk pancake was well prepared, and the Gingerbread pancake was the highlight of the meal; very tasty. All in all it was a good breakfast.

It's eclectic, it's funkey, it's in a converted garage tastily decorated with a strong local support for the 24/7 breakfast place. The eclectic menu features healthy locally sourced items such as egg whites & substitutes, yogurt, mushrooms and avocados. Their pancakes are quite tasty too. Question: Will we return? The answer is 50 / 50 due to it being a ways from our lodging, but if we stay in the area, heck yes we will return. Spartan Caver

I forgot the name of the Omelette I ate but it had avocado, mushroom, peppers, and cheese. I was sooooooo good. The pancakes and bacon were ok but their potatoes were delicious. The staff were nice and luckily we arrived when there was not a wait ;). I you love breakfast food then def give this place a try.

We had a great breakfast omelette at this simple restaurant. The staff is very nice and accommodating. The vegetable omelette is unique including guacamole inside. Loved it.

All of the Austin cafes are amazing - Magnolia, Kerby Lane, Star Seeds, the Austin Diner on Burnet, you name it. Any one of them could easily be the best little down home charming place you've ever been, and somehow the Omelettry is even simpler, even less pretentious, and perhaps the best of all of them. Their decor, which looks like they scavenged yard sales and closed down old elementary schools for furniture and so on, is unassuming and thrown together yet somehow comforting and classic. The cafe scene from the Quentin Tarantino film "Death Proof" was shot in the main dining room where the cashier is. Their omelettes are totally awesome, of course, and their pancakes (gingerbread, buttermilk, wheat, you name it) are outstanding. Typical Austin weirdo hipster servers can be found here and the whole place is infused with the famous Austin laid back, eclectic vibe; anyone would feel comfortable here and the food is to die for. They're only open from like 7am to 5pm, and they're usually crowded, so go during an off time (late afternoon may be the best bet) to avoid a 45 minute wait.

For great diner food in Austin, be sure to visit The Omelettry. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the food is well prepared, and the ambiance is clean and nice. I had an omelette and my husband had a burger; both were very good. This is the best place I have found in Austin for breakfast. And, since the burger was actually made there, a mighty fine place to have one of those. A place for everyone.

I have been dining at the Omlettry since I was a student at UT in the late 80s. I dont think they have changed a single thing on the menu. I took my kids there on a recent trip to Austin/SA and they loved the pancakes. I am not sure I have ever ordered anything other than the popeye's special with a short stack of gingerbread. I almost hate to write this review and let out a secret, but I want to make sure this place is still there for my grandkids! Cash only.

The place has an old time diner vibe. Selection is amazing. Pancakes the size of dinner plates. Omelettes come with enough sides to please a lumberjack. By 8 am on Sunday there was a wait list

Just arriving to Austin, we fell upon this spot. Breakfast was good, but some of the staff could have been a bit more friendly. We got an omelet and huevos rancheros. The veggie and avocado omelet with potatoes and toast was quite large for me so it was shared as my other half was still a bit hungry after finishing his huevos rancheros. For those that are coffee fans, they frequently come around and refill your cup while dining.

Our family has been eating here for 40 years. They have THE BEST gingerbread pancakes! The place is no-frills but to food is delicious. The staff are all friendly, efficient, and helpful. We go here regularly for breakfast but the also serve lunch. Weekends are packed and they don’t take reservations, so arrive early and expect to wait a bit - but it’ll be worth it!

After many years at the Burnet Road location, the Omelettry now resides at 4631 Airport Blvd. I was a tad concerned that the move might have resulted in changes in the menu, or the food quality, or the service. I'm pleased to report that the good food and good vibes from the old place are safe and sound in the new digs. For those who have not had the pleasure of eating here: In addition to a great variety of large and very yummy omelets (with your choice of tasty sides) are other egg dishes, pancakes (try the gingerbread!) sandwiches, tacos, and other items. Service is friendly and casual, and the ambiance is pleasantly funky. This is still a great place for breakfast, lunch or brunch!

Perfectly made omelettes : real eggs, fresh-tasting, not over cooked. Loved how the bacon and onions were cooked down perfectly, and the generous amount of spinach, was just also perfectly “just wilted.” very large. One omelette is enough for two, really, and one can choose sides to every order. It’s in an inconspicuous strip mall, which meant a decent amount of parking. Service was prompt although not as warm and friendly as other establishments in Texas. It was a little cold and impersonal which made us sort of feel we were back in New Jersey 🤣.

Food is fantastic! Worth the wait. The wait staff should invest in hot sleeves for those very hot plates. Overall experience was eggselent!

One of the best breakfast spots in Austin. Prices are great and the food is great. A must try in Austin Texas

Stopped by to grab some breakfast before heading back to the airport. The place was busy but we got a table pretty quick. The food was delicious and big portions. Decent price for what you get.

OMG. Awesome omelette, and the pancakes were great as well. Going to be our regular breakfast spot while in the Austin area.

I had great memories of the Omelettry’s gingerbread pancakes from my time as a UT student 40+ years ago. The location has changed but I am thrilled to report the gingerbread pancakes are still wonderful. Also had an omelette which was also excellent. Highly recommend!

Here its all about the egg. If you can imagine your favorite omelette they will cook it up for you. Don't worry they have lots of other selections as well. Fresh fruit - of course. Due to social distancing seeing is limited. They are really providing customers with a safe environment to eat in. We will be back!

An interesting selection of omelets, with excellent other breakfast foods. Very tasty, great prices. Omelets range from $8-10, but include a short stake of pancakes or other sides. The gingerbread pancakes were fantastic! Tip: get there early if you have a medium or large-ish group. Due to its popularity, expect to wait for a table.

This little place is moving next month, out by the airport, their sign says -- which is good because they sure can use a new parking lot. Pot hole city that could swallow a small car. But, back to food. Great little diner type place it is hard to find anymore. Sign says ask any server for assistance since they all help each other and split tips .... great way to run a place. I ordered a bit off the menu - guacamole omelet, but I asked for my avocados sliced, came with delicious tomatoes diced and cheese.... and I added bacon for $1.95 (it was good and crisp). My omelet tasted so fresh and perfect. I tried gingerbread pancakes, a first for me. They seem popular at a few places in Austin so had to give them a try. Nice flavor. I would have liked more butter and I'm sure I could have asked for more... but for health I stuck with what I was given. Anyway, coffee great, food perfect, server good and nice. My husband had the Spanish omelet and it was plenty spicy. He has a nice side salad and he enjoyed his meal too. What a great place. I wish them great success in their new location. They have a winning combination so I have no doubt their future will continue to be bright.

I like non-chain breakfast places and this place doesn’t disappoint. You might need to time it right on a weekend or you will be waiting for a table. Food and service are excellent. Waffles and pancakes are just as good at their Omelettes. Next time I am in Austin I will be coming back!

Servings here feel your plate, which could easily be shared by two people. Coming out of the kitchen our selections were not particularly hot although they were edible. Service was very good. The new location is far superior to hold offering much improved parking. The gingerbread pancakes were particularly good and we're hot. Not bad but nothing to write home about.

Very expansive menu with an excellent selection. Breakfast plus! Sandwiches, soups, etc. it's not a large place; we arrived about 11:00 AM and had to wait to be seated. There a list at the front where you enter your name and number in your party. The wait was about 10 minutes and well worth it. The quantity is plentiful and quality is excellent. The staff is very attentive. Although they leave the check or bill at the table, you pay at the cashier near the entrance.

Austin has many cool & delicious sites for Breakfast, Brunch, & Lunch eateries, especially suited for a university-state capital city that continues to urbanize despite the already crowded census. So, you will never be @ a loss for good food if you are a resident or visitor. But finding the best places to eat can be a hit-&-miss experience. This restaurant-diner styled site is simply one of the best choices you can make just about any time of day. We tried the House Special omelette flavored by mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, ham & cheese, which was absolutely delicious. Salsa on the side with fresh-cut potato sectioned into cubes. The second omelette was the Popeye's Favorite stuffed with spinach, onions, & cheese topped by homemade sour cream. The food was all outstanding, the coffee was very good, & service prompt & courteous. Suggest that you go early because of the site's popularity. Parking not a problem.

We just left there and I felt compelled to comment on the rude service. The guy waiters couldn't stop rolling their eyes and mumbling under there breath about our table of 7 moms that came by after school drop off. Every question or request came with an eye roll. I felt as though we were being waited on by my tween daughter. Not sure if we will return as I don't enjoy getting snubbed by a wannabe hipster. This joint needs a manager to step in and talk about kindness to customers. (The girl pouring coffee was super sweet)

We went here for breakfast today. The scrambled eggs with sausage were great but the white bread toasts tasted and smelled like old bread. Asked for wheat and the same, they must keep it too close to a heat source and it went bad. However, the staff and service were great.

Quit, well lighted, and lots of windows. Staff was fun and curious. Enjoyed it so much that my wife and I went there two more times that week.

We had this while attending ACL music Fest and it was amazing the wait is pretty long but well worth it. Food was great and pancakes are huge. I like the you have to write your name as soon as you go In so basically you wait you’re turn but you have a visual of how many are ahead of you.

This place was a no frills, super chill spot. We didn't have to wait long on a Wednesday morning after the Fourth of July, were sat after about 10 minutes. I ordered the Popeye omelette with gingerbread pancakes and was not disappointed. The staff seemed like they had a good rhythm which added to the overall feel of the diner. I loved it.

What a perfect breakfast!! Huge omelette- I had the HOUSE SPECIAL w: pancakes. I’m a coffee snob and expected mediocre ... NOPE ... great coffee, too. Great way to end my stay in Austin. Thanks, Omelettry!!!!

I love the selection of fresh fruits, omelets as big as your face, and fresh coffee. The blueberry pancakes will brighten your day!

I came to the Omelettry for over 30 years while I was living in Austin and have returned over the last 8 years every time I'm back in Austin (long ago it was Walt's Coffee Pot on the same location). Some of the best omelets and pancakes you'll ever find and the service is always friendly and attentive, even when it gets crowded. They always have fresh fruit available and the home fries are chunks of perfectly prepared and seasoned potatoes. Nice selection of sandwiches and soups for lunch but breakfast is the operative word here. They will be moving to a new location this fall which is rather distressing as it will be on Airport near I35, a commercial area rather than somewhat tucked away in a mostly residential area as it is now. I'm hoping for the best in any case. This is an Austin institution back from the old days and there's few of those left. The seating in the back room is very nice, peaceful.

Expect a wait on Sunday Morning - Have coffee (good coffee) available while you wait. Omelets were excellent - great variety to choose from. Ginger Bread pancakes were a little dry.

I ordered the Spanish omelet and although it was good it's certainly not Spanish. Authentic Spanish omelets are made simply of eggs, potatoes and onions fried in olive oil but what I got would be considered Tex-Mex since it was basically Rotel heaped on an omelet stuffed with cheese. Overall, it wasn't bad but I certainly won't go there and spend that much money on an omelet again. Plus they don't take credit cards since its cash only so we had to use their ATM machine to take out cash which charged a $1.50 fee. The total including the tip was $20.60 which is entirely too much for breakfast for only two people!

At the recommendation of the friend I was meeting I had breakfast here on a Monday morning at 8am. The place was not busy (can imagine it must be, though, on the weekends). Lots of parking out front. I ordered the mushroom omelette (mushrooms sauteed in wine) and it was one of the most flavorful omelettes I've ever had. Bonus points for whole fruit as a side dish including amazing in-season pears, oranges, pineapple, etc. Definitely a step-up from the pre-made fruit cup.

Enjoyed a great breakfast of scrambled eggs and a fluent free pancake. Sat at the counter and received great service and food came out fast and was delicious.

The food and atmosphere were good, fast and friendly service. The address on Tripavisor is wrong the new location is 4631 Airport Blvd # 131A Austin TX

Note: THIS IS NOT THEIR CURRENT ADDRESS. They have moved to Airport Blvd just north of the intersection of 45th and near the intersection of Airport Blvd and I35. Their new place isn't funky like their old one, but they still have the Austin style and same friendly service and good food. They moved some of their old décor to the new place just to keep the memories. Our favorites are the Quacamole omelet and the Gingerbread pancakes. Their regular breakfast items are great too. The new place seems larger than the old location, but be prepared to wait if you arrive during prime breakfast time on Saturday or Sunday.

The Omelttry has been in the same place in Austin for over 20 years and, true to the "Keep Austin Weird" campaign as managed to keep its eclectic atmosphere. The food is basic but consistent and the service is always friendly. I almost always order the Popeye Omelette with a side of home fries but the gingerbread pancakes are usually good, as well.

Getting lost is not all bad, I have come to find out. I made a wrong turn and ended up on a portion of Airport Blvd. (where the new location is now, not Burnet Rd, I gather) I was feeling hungry so I looked for a place to stop. Saw the marquee first which attracted my attention. This place must be popular as hell. At least on Sundays. I dropped by at about 10am and there was a waiting list a mile long. Fortunately for me, since I dine alone, I was able to snag a seat at the counter immediately. (Suckers!) I had no idea what to expect, but the menu has a great variety (and an interesting behind the scenes story of the restaurant if you want to read it.) I got a Spanish omelette with home fries and toast. These people aren't chintzy, let me state that up front. I got a plate full of food. The omelette was pretty good, and although I have come to expect home fries to be hit or miss, especially on how well done they are, these were fantastic. And I had so much food I had to take part of it with me. THe only downside was they were so busy at the counter that service was a bit slow, but otherwise really great place.

Our last morning in Austin and wanted one last meal adventure before we hit the road. Looked up "good breakfast nearby" on the phone app and Omeletry was top of the list. So 2 miles later we're here. Greeted with smiles and a make yourself at home type welcome we spotted a booth and sat down. Clean, cool and open (lots of windows) and we thought the Dr. Suess green eggs and ham painting on the wall was both playful and clever. Of course we ordered omelets just to taste what the hype was all about and you know what, the restaurant name is befitting. Plus the portions are huge! Great place. We highly recommend it.

First and foremost, there is going to be a line. But it will definitely be worth it. The staff is friendly and the food is unforgettable. The Popeye Omelette is a must-try but when it come down to it, you really can't go wrong with any of it.

Casual spot for breakfast & brunch. Personable service. Fresh tasting fruit. Excellent omelet, what do you expect with their name? Didn't have pancakes, but they looked good. Bring cash, they don't take credit cards.

So sad to see the original leveled. New locale has the same great, fresh food. Same wonderful staff. New fun indoor mural of Dr. Seuss and green eggs 'n ham!

Cool, eclectic spot with really good food and a lot of options. The gingerbread pancakes really are "Prozac on a plate!"

The line of twenty folks to get in told me most of what I wanted to know. I grabbed a seat at the counter, and I was suitably impressed. Prices were good as well. No wonder it draws a crowd.

Hip cool restaurant serving some really good omelets. Be prepared for a wait as this place is popular, but it's worth it in the end.

Their pancakes are the BOMB! They are so delicious, as well as their omelettes. We went on a Sunday morning so naturally it was busy and had to wait 30 minutes to get a table, but this is obviously a local favorite and with good reason!

Love this amazing gem of a breakfast spot, tons of selection and variety. The gingerbread pancakes are life changing.

We made the mistake of getting up early to line up at Franklin BBQ, only after getting there remembering that he is closed on Monday! After laughing that off, we looked at Trip Advisor and found this restaurant. Omelettes that we ordered were good but not nothing to brag about. Probably wouldn’t make the trip there next time in town.

One of the oldest cafés in Austin and a local landmark. The quiet and behaved guests makes this place stand out in modern day Austin. Great for lazy Sunday morning brunch. Nearby neighbourhoods of Rosedale and Allandale offer quiet surroundings with little traffic. Honest and dedicated staff. Restrooms are not of the highest caliber though, but nothing unexpected from this type of establishment.

Stopped by for breakfast and it was delicious for a down home breakfast. Prices are reasonable. It's a smaller restaurant but love that it's not a chain. We'll back for sure.

Had a fantastic mushroom omelette. The sides are great you can pick your fruit from a list and they have cottage cheese as an alternative to toast or potatoes. Large portions at a great price.

First, they have moved from the address listed to Airport Blvd (I do not know the block number), two blocks off I-35N. The food is simple, but very good. There is usually a line to get a table (that should tell you something!). More of a breakfast, brunch, lunch place.

A nice eclectic place to eat.. on the northern side of Austin off the beaten path of downtown...breakfast is delicious

This no-flair restaurant serves a very hearty breakfast at a very reasonable price. The Popeye's omelette was fresh and delicious, but the side order of the Gingerbread pancakes were the bomb... very flavorful. I will certainly return on my next trip to Austin.

Best breakfast I've had in Austin, if not all of Texas. Omelette was excellent and the sides (fruit and avocado) were so fresh. Simple menu but everything was very good including the service.

It's been over a decade since I visited The Omelettry, but it's just as delicious as I remember. The omelets were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. My kids devoured the pancakes like they hadn't eaten in a month. I am usually not a pancake fan, but I have admit their buttermilk pancakes were to die for. The only thing that wasn't perfect was the service. The waistaff is pretty lax on refilling drinks. When my husband flagged down a young man who worked there to ask if he could get the waitress to refill my son's apple juice (after waiting over 15 minutes for her to at least walk by & check on us), he seemed pretty put out that we would dare make such a request. Still, the food makes up for those small glitches.

I popped in to the location on Airport blvd during the weekday. I was very quickly greeted by a sign that suggest I seat myself...I sat at the counter and was given coffee and water along with my order taken with in 5 min of stepping into the place. I felt at ease and not rushed. The food took a minute to get done but well worth it. The coffee was so good I had 3 cups!!!! I will be back. Good food and fair price with a good vibe.

First time in new location on Airport. We got lucky, arriving just before breakfast rush. Seated, coffee served, and order taken very efficiently. Food was good , eating vegetarian omelet with sides of buttermilk pancakes and crispy bacon! Service was good with the work ethic of the young staff being very obvious. There was no standing around doing nothing, but rather servers other than main waitress, stopping by to refill coffee or inquire if we needed anything. Overall, a very pleasant experience!

They had a lot of different omelet options and some more standard breakfast items. Our waiter was a little crazy but the meal was good over all.

We came here during a weekend breakfast. The wait time was short. The decor was unique-Dr Seuss themed wall, Aprons hanging by the windows... As for the food: I had the eggs Benedict with black beans. I loved It. Their pancakes were great! Everyone else's food was great too. The wait staff was friendly and helpful. I also enjoyed their coffee.

I love this place. It has been here for decades and still has that great diner feel and that great diner food. The menu is simple and everything on it is good. I always go for breakfast because the gingerbread pancakes are too much for me to resist. Thick and rich and redolent with spice and butter oh my. Add some fluffy scrambled eggs and juicy sausage and I am in breakfast heaven. Like Humpty, I've fallen for the Omelettry and will just keep on coming back.

The atmosphere and very team spirit of the staff really made this place. You never wanted for anything thanks to the wait staff. Everyone looked out for the customer and by doing so no one waited long for anything. Coffee was good. Freshly ground in house. my boyfriend got a ham omelet, which was good. He also got buttermilk instead of the ginger pancakes. His were better. Mine smelled better than they tasted. On my visit the ginger Pancakes were dry very and grainy. Our overall experience was great. I will come back.

My friends and I found this restaurant through a web search for brunch. Cute little place in a great area. Lots of fun places nearby. Loved the atmosphere -- very laid back with locals. Had the gingerbread pancakes that were fab! Three of us shared the fruit platter which was huge and had the best bananas I've ever had...and I don't really like bananas. Just remember cash only!!! (ATM inside)

My wife and I went on a Saturday morning while visiting Austin in early July 2017. The place is very family friendly, and there are plenty of families, young and old, having breakfast, so it is a convivial environment. We showed up around 9:30 and the wait was less than ten minutes. Larger parties might have to wait longer as the place was full. I like that they have some hot coffee you can pour yourself while waiting. Definitely a plus. The service was fairly attentive, especially the lady going around refilling your coffee mug. The food came out fast and it was plentiful, but it was very bland. My wife got huevos rancheros and the tomatoes for the salsa tasted straight out of a can. She had a side of potatoes that were greasy and not tasty at all. Very blah overall. I got an omelet with spinach, other veggies, and cheese, with a side of black beans. The beans were great, the omelet was again lacking flavor. Many folks at other tables were having pancakes, and they looked delicious, but being a diabetic I cannot eat these so I cannot comment as to whether they are good or not. I would go back again and try a different omelet just to make sure the cook was not having an off day.

Came here for something different than the food my hotel was providing... mainly something good, and this did it. Got the ham and cheese omelette because, why screw with something good. the omelette is awesome and the pancakes were great. Homefries were good... but seemed a bit over cooked to me... but that might just be me. I will definitely come back to here.

See what I did there, in the title of the review? Yeah... Anyways, for starters, the address on Burnet Road currently listed is incorrect - they moved a few months ago over to Airport Boulevard. My first trip here, so I had to go with an omelette. I wasn't all that hungry, which is a shame, because it was a TON of food. Not only was the omelette a huge meal on its own, but they serve it with your choice of pancakes, or a few other things. I had the pancakes, and they too were enough for a full meal. Great service - very friendly servers, and a very low-key atmosphere. This would be considered a greasy spoon, where I'm from. Value for your money - way beyond most places. I think I spent $12 (including the tip), and had orange juice, a huge Omelette (the Popeye), and the pancakes that came on the side. TONS OF FOOD! This is close to my office, so I expect this to become a regular stop for the guys.

Ladies & Gents step right up to the BEST pancakes in South Austin. Omelettes were a solid 8.0, sadly the coffee was a depressing 2.0. If you go on a Saturday prepare for a long wait but totally worth it. The place has a keep Austin weird vibe. Service wasn’t stellar but everyone has an off day. I’d def return for another bite.

This place was so worth the wait. We went on a Sunday morning and it was busy we had to wait but we were also a large crowd. Once seated we were served in a timely and friendly manor. The place has an old diner feel and great custom egg art. Our brother did the chuck Norris egg while we were there and if you’re there check it out. We all had something different ranging from French toast to eggs and bacon right up to delicious omelets the food tasted fresh and cooked perfectly I missed my food before it was gone. I recommend everyone take the time to enjoy this place. Also forgive one of my photos I dig into the omelette before I remembered to snap an image. ☺️

Review of the Omelettry on 4631 Airport Blvd # 131a Austin Texas Should I start by stating how nice EVERYONE at this place is? Or should I just get straight into how wonderful the omelets were? I know, I know we travelled to Texas from South Florida so naturally everyone seems super nice – but you guys are too much. Everyone, from the gal who took our names to the guy cleaning the tables was just great. And the food – Wow! Not just tasty but a lot of it. I was initially concerned because I am a big eater and I am used to a 1 or 2 egg omelet. Not at the Omelettry – They are huge! Also, the potatoes were great and the coffee was out of this world. Go there and take a book to read during the wait, it is well worth it.

Went there with some Austin friends who love this place. I can see why. Service is typical laid back Austin but it works, more of a team approach. Food is plentiful and quite tasty. I had basic eggs and sausage and potatoes. I also tried the killer gingerbread pancakes which one of my friends had. Great. They have a breakfast and lunch menu. We only hit the breakfast choices. There is a long list often but they have open seating at the bar area which worked perfectly as we walked in and didnt have to wait at all since there were open seats there. I would go back, the omelettes looked great also. Great service, great food, well done, efficient. Priced right. Works for me every time. Love when that happens.

We got the omelettes. Of course. Nice and very generous servings. Had the pancake side. Nicely done. There was something of a wait to get in, since it is a family friendly place that gives a good value for the price. Not surprising to us, after dining here. Great place. Nice folks. Not fancy, a place for real people and real food. On our list of favorites for the future.

My husband and I came here for breakfast and this place did not disappoint. I the black olive omelet and it was lovely! My husband loved the Popeyes omelet. Great breakfast and great service.

Decided I didn’t want a hotel breakfast. Found this place. Went during the week, during a Legislative session and SXSW and got right in with great service. The House Special was AMAZING! Lots of fillings and cheesy. The pancakes were great nice and fluffy. Totally would return and recommend.

Very cool wait staff. The food is good but not great. Atmosphere is a lot of fun and very unique. Many other places to eat that outshine The Omelettry.

We pulled up to find a crowd waiting outside on a warm Sunday morning. The wait went quickly and soon we were inside this bustling breakfast spot. The service was quick and to the point and after a momentary pause to reflect upon the choices on the menu, our order was whisked away to be made. Soon our table was filled with omelets and short stacks and we dove into to the eggy goodness before us. We stuffed ourselves silly and while we couldn’t decide if we could take another bite, we did... Highly suggest the Popeye, House Special and Ham and cheese omelets. The buttermilk pancakes are delicious and worth a return trip just for the short stack alone. The butter and portions are plentiful and it is easy to see why this is a busy breakfast destination.

Okay, it's just a diner. There's nothing there that you've never had before, BUT everything is amazing. This is a great place to get a really good plate of eggs, sausage, and pancakes. It's simple fare but done very well. The prices are also very good, though be sure to bring cash! Also, this is a very popular place. So there are times you will have to wait quite a while for a table.

Thanks to Trip Advisor we found this place. It's a local owned restaurant with fantastic food. The Popeye omelette tasted even better than I thought it would after reading the reviews however I personally didn't care for the gingerbread pancakes (very dry). If your a coffee drinker you're in luck as they come around often to refill... Overall this place was great.

I got the “Popeye omelette” with pancakes and it was fantastic. Really rich in flavor. I ordered large orange juice. Not the best but it’s okay. I used to Whole Foods orange juice.

We stopped in here on a Sunday morning. I wanted to try a local restaurant instead of a chain. We were not disappointed. Small, quiet, and clean restaurant. Our service was excellent. We had french toast and I tried a house omelette with gingerbread pancakes. Omelette was great but pancakes a little too sweet for me but not bad. I would rate it higher but bacon is paper thin and they don't take credit cards. I also prefer sausage patties instead of the links they serve. Nonetheless their namesake omelettes are very good.

Went with some friends for breakfast at noon on a Saturday. Had to wait for a few minutes but not too long. Omelettes and pancakes were both very good. Coffee refills were frequent. They are now located at 4631 Airport Blvd.

Used to eat here during college years and loved the quirky locations, decor, and good food. Returned recently and found it had a new location in a strip shopping mall. Waited forever to be seated and then forever to get our food. Service was spotty and Food and coffee were just average and prices were high. Not worth the wait.

We found this place almost by accident. My wife did a quick search for 'Best breakfast in Austin' as we were driving through on our way home. We picked The Omelettry because it was close to the highway. We had no idea it was an Austin institution. Amazing food & service. I had the Spanish omelette, my wife got the Popeyes favorite. They both were very good, but the star was the gingerbread pancakes. Amazing!

This quaint and friendly place started my day off great this morning. After a friend who has lived in Austin for a long time brought me here, I enjoyed the most delicious pancakes I have ever had - Gingerbread! They came along side this fluffy three egg omelet filled with delicious veggies and two kinds of cheeses. It was so big I had to give half to my friend to take home, however I did finish the two awesome pancakes. The staff is friendly and attentive. They have a large selection of items on their menu for both breakfast and lunch. Great place to come for either one, when looking for a tasty place in Austin.

We ordered the house special and the Popeye omelets. They were amazing. Mine had ham, cheese, onions, and k. It tasted like buttery heaven. The home fries were good too, and we got fresh fruit. All around great breakfast, I would definitely go back.

A genuine, local, character diner which excels at breakfasts. On a weekend morning, even if you arrive early you are likely to have to wait a little while for a table. Add your name to the list, and sit outside - an opportunity to begin reading your newspaper. There are two rooms full of tables and booths here, so it shouldn't be too long before you are seated. You will find yourself amongst local people of all ages, lots of young families but older couples too. Love a place which offers a decent granola, fruit and yoghurt option, but the pancakes are the real star of this show. Lots of choices, with the gingerbread very good but the wholewheat banana pancake was also a stunner. Your coffee and drinks will be topped up regularly and when you have finished, it won't be too far to walk out to your car as they have a good-sized parking lot. Our only concern is that this eatery is due to move to a new location at the end of March - hopefully it will be a similarly characterful place, not a modern soulless cafe.

While visiting Austin we just did a quick search for breakfast and this place came up. Portions were good sized. The omelette were great! I would highly recommend. Average wait time, not super slow but not super fast either. Would definitely visit again!

I was expecting more. I've been there a few times only, although I work very close to them. I like their ambience but their food is just average and you have to pay cash. It can be good for brunch.

Typical breakfast place with nothing special if you ask me. I had popeye’s omelette with pancakes. I have waited like 20 min. Omelette was fine but when the pancakes are huge they are not being fluffy. If you are an egg guy, you should gibe a try!

Four adults met for breakfast one morning. I ordered two scrambled eggs with bacon and French toast -- so much food came out! Bacon is cut really thin and cooks up really crisp; French toast is excellent. Others ordered fried eggs with bacon and pancakes -- also very good. Only thing ordered that we did not care for is the gingerbread pancakes. They were a little on the dry side. Service was great, food and coffee were very good. Highly recommend this eatery!

You would think that a place named The Omelettry would know how to cook eggs. Nope. I ordered soft scrambled eggs with bacon and sourdough toast, with a side of grapes. The eggs were swimming in oil and were an unusual orange color. I asked about the large amount of oil, and was told that's how soft scrambled eggs must be cooked. Strange. I successfully cook soft scrambled eggs all the time with very little oil, and I don't even own a breakfast restaurant. The extremely thin bacon tasted like the precooked stuff that can be zapped in a microwave. The sourdough toast was cold and had no sourdough taste at all. It was served with margarine. I asked that the eggs be redone, and they arrived overcooked with a sulfurous flavor. The wait person never asked how we liked our food. The bill for two "eggonomical" breakfasts and two coffees was 23.00. I have lived in Austin for 40 years and this was just about the worst breakfast I've ever had in this town. The grapes were good, though.

Our family enjoyed our breakfast on a Sunday morning. We did have to wait for a table but it was only 20-30 minutes which I consider a given for a weekend breakfast joint. I had the House Special Omelette with the gingerbread pancakes which were billed as "Prozac on a plate" and although I've never taken Prozac, the pancakes were pretty amazing. The rest of our party had straight up eggs, bacon, toast, home fries. All of the food was made with fresh and good ingredients. We will be back for another visit. Tidbit to share - The Omelettry is "grandfather" to Kerby Lane and Magnolia Café, two other well known Austin breakfast joints. The history of the Omelettry is on the menu so make sure you read it to be in the know about some Austin history.

(and I've had a lot of pancakes!) We went as a mixed-generational group of 5 on a Sunday morning and had about a 20 minute wait for a table to become free. Our table ordered omelettes, scrambled eggs and bacon, french toast and a veggie burger, and everyone was delighted with their meals. The bacon is cooked to perfection, and the buttermilk pancakes (we will definitely try gingerbread next time!) were to die for! Honestly, considering they were just supposed to be a side, those pancakes were amazing. Overall, a great place for breakfast, if a little busy and loud for a Sunday morning.

My son took us here and I cannot remember the new location, we went for a late breakfast before leaving town, it was tasty and good. enjoyed it.

This restaurant is in an old, out of the way building that is easy to miss and was around when I was a young girl (a really long time ago). The inside has seen a better day and is very shabby. However, the food is great. Our group of four had buttermilk pancakes (delicious), and various omelettes. They are huge, easily split between two hungry people or three sorta hungry people. The potatoes that come with it are yummy and better than some "hash browns potatoes". The fruit was very fresh and sweet. The waiters were right there and were very helpful and friendly. The ladies out front were less than helpful but we figured it out. So don't let the building or the ladies that "greet" you keep you from going on it. The food it delish and you can have breakfast all day long.

I came to this place visiting my friends who live in Austin and I ate the chicken quesadilla and it had such a great taste! Definitely would go back

Great Omelets stuffed with fresh ingredients!! I had the veggie omelet loaded with veggies and stuffed w guacamole , topped it off w queso and salsa! Very yummy!! Awesome staff and fun atmosphere !! We will be back!!

This is the type of cafe I like... Unpretentious, with good food at reasonable prices. I believe that they're going to be moving to new premises soon. Which might be a shame, as their current building has such a great charm to it. And the murals on the outside are fun, too! Our service was great, and our meals came quickly. Plenty to choose from, and let me tell you - the gingerbread pancakes are AWESOME! The decor is nothing special... Your average "mix and match" tables and chairs, which just adds to it's quirkiness. But hopefully you're going for the food, not the decor, and if that's the case, you won't be disappointed.

Stopped by mid-morning, mid-week. Eggs were good, pancakes were good, coffee was good. All good, even very good. Nothing jumped out as fabulous, but just good, solid breakfast

I love this place! Quality food and good prices. The fruit is always fresh cut. The gingerbread pancakes are life changing.

I used to go to the location on Burnet. On a recent trip to Austin after many years away, we went to the new location on Airport Blvd. The menu was the same as before and everything was just as good as I remembered. My wife and I split a Spanish omelet and had two gingerbread pancakes with orange marmalade and syrup. The omelet was light, fluffy, and filled with cheese and tomatoes and peppers. The pancakes were very light and fluffy as well and had the essence of clove.

This was a great place to go. It was busy but not overly crowded. My husband and I split an omelet and got a pancake and it was more than enough food. And it was delicious.

Amazing breakfast! Their pancakes are awesome and they have a lot to choose from. You will not be disappointed. I got the banana, blueberry pancakes and they were to die for. Best place in Austin for breakfast!!

Loved it. Must try the popeye. The omelettry has a fantastic story which can be found on the back of the menu. Try the trio - magnolia cafe, kerbey lane cafe, and the omelettry.

We stopped by here while leaving Austin TX. Atmosphere of this place is nice and the food was great. We would stop by here again if we were in town.

My friends were visiting from another country and they wanted to eat in all the local places, so of course I took them here!! And man, were they impressed with the food, locals know that the wait is terrible but it's definitely worth it all the time! Great vibes, excellent food and awesome service!!!

We visited for breakfast. The wait was less than five minutes to get seated at a booth. It has your typical diner vibe. There are booths, tables and some seats at the bar. We had The Popeye omelette which has crispy bacon, cheddar cheese and sautéed onions and some sour cream on top. It was good. The ham and cheese omelette with home fries was really good too! Side of pancakes as well, very tasty. Did enjoy and will return!

We had brunch here while on vacation. We got right in and the staff was friendly, the crayons AND small toys for our kiddo to play with were appreciated. Great food and reasonable prices, would definitely recommend!

Its off Airport now. Got Omelette with cottage cheese and fruit. First the lemon sour cream is wonderful. Good sides. They have a menu that will please everyone. I did not care for their coffee. It rare to find a place in Austin that doesn't have good coffee. I thought it was watered down but other people seemed to enjoy it.

Had the gingerbread pancakes. They were very good but came with a suspicious-looking scoop of yellow stuff on top. Margarine or something close, I was told. I requested butter and was told, rather brusquely, that they didn't have any. I've learned that "syrup" doesn't mean "maple", but no butter??? Bring your own...

Tried to look for something off the beaten path for breakfast and found it at The Omelettry. Ordered the Popeye, very good, big. Plenty to fill you up. Refreshing when i asked for side of fruit that i got a list of various fruits to choose from. Normally you just get a mix. Loved that! Service was quick and they kept up on refilling my beverage. I ordered a side of bacon and that was probably the one item that could have been better as it completely crumbled. I guess it was cooked to be in omelette and not as stand alone side. I would highly recommend!

Burnet road Benedict is delicious. Others at the table had the Popeye omelet. potatoes are made with chorizo. pancakes are fluffy. so good.

Three kids and I waited for nearly an hour to get seated at "Austin's #1 breakfast spot". The food was good and the service was ok, but in all fairness I would be hard pressed to do better with that much activity. I did enjoy the light and fluffiness of the omelette.

We had a long wait because their were 5 in our party and we visited on a Sunday morning. The wait was well worth it. The portion sizes were huge and the food was awesome! Make sure you try the gingerbread pancakes, we had gotten a side to share and they were delish!

We stopped here on our way out of Austin. We got the stardard breakfast items pancakes, eggs, and homefries. The food was homemade and the service was good.

It was just ok. I was really looking forward to this Austin breakfast as I was visiting from out of town. Based on reviews & Google showing how busy it would be, I decided to call ahead for pick-up. I was glad I did, because the wait to be seated at 9:30a on a Saturday was out the door. Upon arrival, & waiting at the register for pick-up, I was not acknowledged by the several staff members that walked by for a few minutes. Yes, the were very busy, & I understand that. But a simple "someone will be with you shortly" as they go by is so easy. When they finally helped me the first girl was a little rude & unwelcoming. She walked off after I gave her my name for pick-up ne'er to be seen again. The next girl was nice enough & read my order back, so I thought it was right, so I didn't check. When i got back to my hotel (15 min away), I found that they forgot my side of bacon that I paid $4 for. Before driving away, I went back in to ask for salsa if they had any without sugar. This guy paused & looked at me like "oh, you're one of those people" & flatly said, "All of our salsas have sugar." So I left, sans salsa. My total breakfast for 2 was $25... Before the tip I left. So I was very bummed about the missing bacon. Nobody smiled at me or in general. Do they hate their jobs? The omelettes (House & Spanish) were very fresh & large, but needed seasoning. I wasn't a fan of the homemade "salsa" on the Spanish omelette. It too was bland & the tomato chunks were too big. I preferred the House over the Spanish. It was an ample amount of food & I imagine I'll be skipping lunch. As servers walked by with pancakes, the looked fluffy & delectable. So that would be my recommendation over omelettes. I wouldn't say "Don't go here", because most people will like the food. Just don't expect fast service with a smile, & check your to-go order before you leave. I personally will not return.

We come here almost everytime we are in Austin. Food is always good service is great. Great selecton of different foods. Staff is always friendly and do a great job.

Breakfast here last Sunday. Arrived at 7:40, no wait. Had a spinach, cheese, and bacon omelet. Very large, fresh spinach. Tasty black beans. Good homefries. Excellent value.

This must be the best place for breakfast or brunch if you love omelets and pancakes. The food portion is extremely generous and tastes so yummy. The food quality is great, the service is great, the setting is just about ok. I would highly recommend this place for brunch. It gets filled up quite quickly on Sundays.

Delicious omelette! So happy to have found this place close to home. Keep up the excellent food and service!

This is a diner style kind of breakfast place. The food was good, but if you are looking for organic farm fresh eggs, cream and local honey, you won't find it here. Good experience overall.

The food, coffee and service is fantastic! Excellent spot for breakfast. I’d recommend the house special omelette. The coffee is great as well, small batch roasted, very tasty.

Overall decent food with mixed service. The Omlettry is a great name with the breakfast focus. The location is the strip mall seems to work well, and so does the atmosphere. The waiter was either fairly lazy or trying too hard to be a hipster. The waitress filling drinks was sweet. Our table had a salad/soup, chicken sandwiches and one omelette. The only poor selection was the soup.

The restaurant is small and busy, but they move quickly. The food is very good and the portions are large, I would recommend the Popeye's Favorite. The customer service could be better because we were not check on often. I had to end up going up to the register to get a togo box and pay for my food.

This Austin Diner on Burnet, is a charming place with great staff and wonderful food. The Omelettry decor is out of a yard-sale and I witnessed staff throwing stuff at each other, but the omelettes are totally awesome, of course, and their pancakes (gingerbread, buttermilk, wheat, you name it) are outstanding, especially the ginger, I am not exaggerating when I tell you smelt the ginger 10 feet before it got to the table. My wife had the potato leek soup and I had the vege chili, both awesome! A great selection of hot tea and the coffee was awesome. The staff, they are typical Austin hipster servers and the whole place is infused with the famous Austin laid back eccentric types. They're only open from like 7am to 5pm, and they're usually crowded, with long waits, so go during an off time (late afternoon may be the best bet) to avoid a long wait.

Recently we started heading back to The Omelettry, and enjoyed its new location (with better parking and more expansive layout). We were delighted to find the same great food, reasonable prices, and that they still serve the best pancakes and soups in town (in our opinion). They've added credit cards, and a couple of other "modern touches," but still serve terrific food.
Taste of Austin
Visited this Austin institution with my family over spring break. Everyone thought it was a quality breakfast at a great price. Don't miss the gingerbread pancakes, although I thought the buttermilk pancakes were great too. Coffee is just standard diner quality, unfortunately.
