Very rude . Hesitant to seat me . Asked for tea waitress just dropped a box with a selection on top of my silverware and said " have at it " . My wife showed up and immediately noticed the rudeness , and it seemed eye contact and waving to get an attention to order was very difficult . We knew it was busy but not that busy as there were several empty tables and the bar was not full . We noticed the other customers we repeatedly asked " is everything ok ? ". Our table was in a semicircle booth middle placement of the other 3 booths . 40 minutes passed and finally a waitress shows up and said thank you for eating here and grabs my silverware from the mouth side as she was attempting to clear our table then my wife informs her that we haven't even ordered yet . She then releases my silverware about 6 inches height and drops it . She then takes our order then immediately leaves I pick up my silverware go to the other waitress and ask if I can have another after explaining what had happened . I'll get you another set she says . So I sit and my wife notices two other parties are already receiving their meals . An hour has passed I get up to inform the tall blonde waitress we are leaving , waitress says we can take our meal for free , I said no thank you and we went to get a sandwich . Awful , awful , awful people . A note I am pacific islander , my wife is Japanese . Didn't want to pull the race card but we were just so greatly disappointed

Immediately upon arrival, i was greeted at the door by a few lovely young ladies who were very charming and kind. my party had not yet arrived so i decided to have a drink at the bar. The dirty martini was the best that i have ever had! they shook it so hard that tiny ice crystals surfaced and the martini glasses were stored in the freezer so this made for the perfect chilled cocktail. (not to mention the best, and biggest blue cheese olives!!) My party arrived and we were seated in the main dining room. The service was impeccable, professional, very knowledgable, and timed perfectly. Her suggestions led us to a seafood platter with the largest shrimp i have ever seen! the horseradish was "atomic" and paired perfectly with our S. Blanc. I had the new york strip, which was perfectly charred and medium rare. others in my group had seabass, crabcakes, the veal chop, and filter. All of my friends expressed the same satisfaction i did. we drank and had dessert and enjoyed the rest of our night, but to say this was a good experience is definitely an understatement. The food was phenomenal, the service exceptional, and i would definitely put them up against any other steakhouse in the city! cheers!

Stopped in for dinner while staying at the Swissôtel, glad I did! Tried “The Palm” meatball and it was delicious, followed by a perfectly cooked Center-Cut Filet. Food was great, the staff was also great and very attentive, but more than anything I really appreciated the GM (Travis) checking in to make sure everything was satisfactory. I will definitely dine here again while in town!

$58.01 is what it cost for the two of us, so you will have to decide if that is what you want to pay to get a simple breakfast with no bells or whistles... The only memory that remains is that it was expensive, and not worth the price I paid.

My wife and I visited The Palm on a recent visit to the city. While we were only there for drinks and appetizers, I have to say the food and beverages were excellent. Of note, was the shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were the size of minivans, fresh as can be, sweet and delicious. I looked at the dinner menu and it too looked very inviting.

After walking around Chicago all day I decided to eat at the Palm as this was the most convenient as I was staying in the Swissotel. The restaurant is more expensive then I would normally go to unless for a special occasion but I am pleased I did. Good service, delicious food though could have done with a few more mouthfuls and a wonderful quirky décor.

Used this restaurant daily for 6 days as part of our complimentary breakfast and stay at the hotel. Excellent service by the team and the breakfast choice, taste, portion sizes were amazing. We had dinner the first night we arrived and ordered burgers which was amazing prime beef patties. I had a pasta one night and thought the portion size could have been larger for the price charged. It is not a cheap restaurant, but definitely has the quality and service to justify its prices.

Each of us enjoyed our starters, main course, and dessert. You really can't go wrong. And the service was fabulous.

Bar maid had attitude every thing was an effort not a pleasant experience not the usual service fro the Palm the waiters were excellent.

This is an elegant environment with delicious food and drinks and great service. Doesn't feel like a hotel lobby restaurant.

Located in the Swissotel. The Palm offers a limited menu of good quality food. The staff were polite and very helpful with the menu. We opted for the new York strip & crab cakes. Both were excellent.

I went with a group of friends for lunch. It was a laughably bad experience. No drinks were offered; in fact, the waiter took away wine glasses without even asking. The orders came out in stages, one ten minutes before the others, the last one apparently not even prepared when everyone else was served. Most people seemed satisfied with their food, but my chicken Milanese with salad was dry and tasteless. we had asked for separate checks, one check appeared; when we again requested separate checks, several were wrong, a couple didn’t come at all. When new checks were prepared, some were still wrong. Finally we paid and left. I will never go back.

Every single thing about our dinner was perfection! Our server was delightful and never lead us astray. The timing was impeccable. The Prime Rib was insane! Omg it was like butter. The Lobster too. The Doughnut Holes are crazy good too. Everything is just amazing. I love all their old school touches that make it really special too... like they squeeze lemons in your hands and give you a warm wet napkin to wash after the Lobster, etc. It’s just a neat place. I can’t wait to go back.

Excellent seafood and Italian dishes. Large portions of everything! We stayed at Swissotel and it was right downstairs, interesting cartoon décor throughout, enjoy!

The wedge salad ($14) was one of the most disappointing I can recall in recent memory and the lamb chops ($52) were tiny and tasteless. We tried a number of the overpriced sides, since everything is a la carte, and found them to be on the whole, greasy and unremarkable. Opted to cut our losses and skip dessert. Our waiter was pleasant and efficient and they do pour a nice New Zealand Sauv. Blanc by the glass.

Service was top notch, food was amazing. bone in ribeye was perfectly charred and medium rare!! staff was knowledgeable and very attentive. Lana was amazing, she made our night- she's hilarious! will return!! highly recommended

Attached to Swissotel, great for late snack and drink. Nice menu, good bar service, can eat at the bar, watch a game.

I had a chopped salad with salmon...not on the menu but they accommodated me with no problem which is always great. The salmon was perfectly cooked and really tasty for being just plainly grilled. They also got us in for lunch with no reservation immediately. Great go-to business lunch spot.

So disappointing:( We went here tonight looking forward to Lobster Dinner. My husband received an email from the Palm for a Lobster Special Dinner. We had a reservation and looked forward to our dinner. It started with a small wait for a table at the entrance. We were taken to a booth that wasn't ready so we switched to a nearby table. Our waitress was fabulous and the highlight of the night!!!! We ordered the Lobster special 5 pounds! Our daughter ordered crab cakes. The salads came out right away with our daughters Lobster Bisque. These three apps were delicious and we were off to a fabulous start. But unfortunately that was also the end. Our entrees took over 50 minutes to come to the table. As we waited, we watched numerous tables around us, which came in after us, order and receive their food including Lobsters! Our waitress continued to apologize and then the manager cane by to say he was sorry the chef was unhappy with the quality and wanted it to be perfect. Funny that every other table was perfect! Finally our lobster arrived and it was over cooked and definitely not 5 pounds!!!! At best it was three! I watched the tables near us get much bigger lobsters than us. The crab cakes were good as were the sides, but the Lobster was very disappointing. As we finished our dinner, the chef came out to our table with our waitress to apologize. The he proceeded to blame the computer for holding our ticket????? We are not stupid, we eat at fine restaurants all around the city. The ticket was lost! And then the Lobster was way overcooked. On top of that they continued to pass off a 3 pound Lobster as a 5! They also tried to offer dessert but we were done, they should have been honest and switched the price of the Lobster from 5 to 3! Too bad for the Palm as my husband works near by and eats there often with clients. When we left tonight he said never again!

First time trying a Palm. Had bar sitting, great service. One of the best wedge salads I have ever had. Steak was cooked to a correct medium rare. A great experience.

Went to Palm and a recommendation and had a great time. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding! Spencer was the best and Eric was a great help. My Chicken Martini was unbelievable!

Unable to get a last minute reservation at a local “non-chain” steakhouse, we went downstairs, and I am glad we did. With food and service comparable to the best of the best, the only setback was the reason we went, venue. Window tables are spitting distance from the bar, so ambiance is impossible. The suave manager (a Palm chain 20 plus year employee) visited us twice, as did his gracious assistant manager. Fried potatoes and onions cheap and incredible. Pam’s suggestion. Filet, ribeye, shrimp and sauces priced as expected — were excellent. Wine has a 2.5 to 3.5 times mark up. All the wines at your grocery store are represented, along with wines for those on an expense account. Sharing space with the Swissotel (which has recently joined an hotel group traveling in a downward spiral with chain imposed bad ideas) makes this steakhouse consistently uncrowded.

A good effort at a decent mid-western breakfast. Nothing that made me jump out of my seat and cheer for the Bulls, mind you. But a tasty standard breakfast, despite being slightly overpriced.

This is a little expensive for my taste, but since I was invited by a friend I couldn’t refuse. The food is all ala carte and everything we ordered was delicious. We split an Andy’s Mixed Green salad and it was the perfect quantity for 2 dinner salads and the waiter brought it in two salad bowls for us. Then I ordered the Chilean Sea Bass and it came with a corn relish and was quite a large portion for $37. My friend ordered pasta and then we split the brussel sprout vegetable side dish and it was $9.50 and really delicious. The waiter was awesome (Michael) and he was helpful with our questions and for local information we asked about. He treated us like royalty - seriously!! If I was back in Chicago and wanted to take someone out for a special occasion- I would definitely come here again.

My family and I went to The Palm Chicago for our Christmas Eve dinner. The food that Chef TJ made was outstanding! His food was cooked to perfection and so tasty. The food was plated so beautifully, I didn't want to ruin it by eating it, but I couldn't resist. Lana, the manager, was wonderful. She made us feel at home and made sure we had a wonderful time. Our server Thomas was also fabulous. His knowledge of the menus and wine list was unbelievable. He made sure we had everything we needed and more. The entire staff at The Palm was so attentive. We will definitely be back , and I highly recommend to anyone reading this to try a meal there too! You will not be disappointed.

One of the best steaks I've ever had - it was the 8oz filet cooked medium-rare and it was cooked to perfection. The fries were not the best though - a mix of overcooked and raw. The service was fast and friendly.

The experience was excellent! Great breakfast and excellent service. Patrick and Matteo were very attentive. We had a large group and no request was too much.

Patrick and Alex were amazing servers. The food was excellent! Good variety on the menu! Coffee was good and rich.

Attending a celebratory conference dinner. We were off in our own private area for 60 people. The appetizers were fantastic especially the butterflied shrimp. The caesar salad was my choice and it was good. For dinner we had salmon and filet mignon. , both prepared perfectly. The sides were family style, but you may have to ask for more. Pam was our server and took care for some special requests of a member of our party who has gluten free needs. For dessert the cheese cake was great and Pam brought out some Ice Cream for our gluten free guest. Highly recommend The Palm for your nest special event.

Great ambiance first off, loved the real tablecloths on the tables, wonderful service with a smile. A lot of great things to choose from the menu and priced affordable for downtown! Burgers are one of the best we had !

I’m an 837 Club member so obviously love Palms, and Chicago is one of our favorites. Newly expanded and remodeled to open up the bar on both sides and add outside seating and private rooms. Victor, the Assistant Manager, was great in his hospitality, checking on us several times during our lunch, and the waitstaff was excellent. Delicous hearts of palm salad with tangy blue cheese (an old menu item I always ask for and they always are willing to make) and tasty lobster roll. Great for lunch or dinner, and very close to the busy Hyatt Regency convention ops.

We were seated in a booth that was rather chilly. The hostess kindly moved us to another area that wasn’t as cold. After a cocktail or two we were quite comfortable. Our server Elisha was very knowledgeable & helpful. Great experience. We will return.

I go to Palms all over the country (NYC the most) and I have to say that the Chicago location is very friendly, with good service, not arrogant and quite enough to have a conversation without yelling (like a lot of the Chicago steak places). Lobster Mac and cheese not as good here as in NYC but a tip, order a steak and split it as they are big. Join the 836 club and get $$s off the wine they are sponsoring that month.

I was staying at the hotel adjacent to the restaurant and went to the bar to ask about utensils. The bartender bluntly informed me they charge $1 for utensils. He was rude and could have easily directed me to the concierge desk where they have free utensils. Given poor customer service, I would not support this place.

Stayed down the street and simply walked here after meetings. Sat at the bar and was impressed. Had no less than 5 people help and attend to me. Had a great steak and creamed spinach. It was delicious. Watched the first football game of the year while eating dinner. Would recommend the staff and food to everyone.

Perfect venue for a business lunch while in town. Seated right away on a weekday at noon, food was excellent - we both ordered salads. Food exceeded expectations. Extremely attentive wait staff.

Expensive and unimaginative! Arrived late and was the only alternative at the Swissotel. Waiter tried to do this big hype about “The Palm”. Didn’t appreciate the smooze. Just another chain. Shrimp salad was on iceberg lettuce. They didn’t even separate the core. Lettuce was too cold and the clams with linguine was nothing to write home about. A four-star hotel should offer something better.

Came in for just a drink, but our server lisa told us about the wonderful lobster special My son and I enjoyed every bit, 5lbs And the team service was great By the end of the dinner we felt like family Dr patton

What can I say the most perfect steak, cooked to absolute perfection, the ambiance of the restaurant was classy but cosy, the waiter Michael was knowledgeable about the meal and wines, please just visit, is a bit pricey but well worth it!

Great service, artful presentations, comfortable seating, and delicious food characterized my visit to The Palm in Chicago. The server was very knowledgeable and paced the service well. I started with a signature and creative cocktail. The citrusy Mediterranean Express was made with Reyka Vodka, Italicus, fresh lemon juice, Real Peach, Fever-Tree Sparkling Lime, and Yuzu. My appetizer consisted of two large pieces of Tuscan Chargrilled Octopus with roasted new potatoes, olives, charred tomatoes, and aqua pazzo sauce. The provision of a steak knife was thoughtful, and the dish was flavorful. For my main course, I enjoyed the Seared Tuna Caponata with roasted parmesan new potatoes, lemon zest, caponata chutney, aqua pazzo sauce. The tangy chutney went perfectly with the fish. I also ordered a cool glass of savignon blanc to accompany the Tuna. For dessert I enjoyed tiramisu in an Old Fashioned glass and appreciated the contrasts among ladyfingers, marscapone, cocoa, and more. A special treat was finding two chocolate covered espresso beans inside. A description of my meal would be incomplete without mention of the Palm’s legendary tradition of caricatures that started in their first establishment in New York. Local artists have helped grace the walls with colorful pictures of the restaurant’s clientele who seem to enjoy being here as much as I did.

Love The Palm Restaurants. The one in Chicago is just as good. Went for lunch and had a great meal. Food, service, and atmosphere was fantastic. The Business Lunch is always a great choice.

We had a group of seven. The sat us quickly and our server was excellent! He knew the menu, how things are cooked, etc. His wine knowledge was exceptional also. Everyone's meal was perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was good, but we might have preferred to have been seated further from the bar area.

Very good quality steak and professional service. I had the NY Strip and it was cooked perfectly. Side of creamed spinach was also very good. I find The Palm consistently good for steak, lobsters and some Italian entries. Bar service is also very good. Visited on a Monday evening so it was not crowded. Location is just so so and they would do better on a buzz street for nightlife like Rush Street. I recommend it for a great steak. Prices are premium reflecting high end food quality.

I'm not normally a steak person and am definitely one of those people who have to have it cooked well done if I even think about going for steak (which is rare in itself). My first time at the Palm I tried their power lunch which offered an appetizer, entree, and dessert for a decent price. I went with the soup, it happened to be cabbage roll soup that day and it was fantastic. For my entree I tried the filet mignon and asked for it butterflied and cooked well done. It came to me exactly how I asked and perfectly cooked. For someone who isn't a steak eater, I was quite pleased especially since no matter where I go my steak has to be sent back multiple times. Not here though which is why I have no problem ordering steak when at the Palm. Their desserts are to die for and you can't go wrong no matter what choice you make. The restaurant itself had a homey kind of feel for me and was somewhere I was more than comfortable to relax a bit more than you would expect for a place downtown in Chicago. It was very clean and the staff are great. Everyone is very attentive and are a joy to have around while they are attending to you and your table. As mentioned above, the food is great and worth the price. Yes, some of the menu items are expensive, but no more than should be expected for any restaurant that is located in Downtown Chicago. The chefs in back know their stuff and stopping by for a meal is definitely worth it. I highly suggest coming by any time you're in the area. I know I do as often as I can.

Ate lunch here. Reasonable prices in a relaxed, comfortable environment with excellent service. Would eat here again even if I wasn't staying in the hotel.

Fantastic service and menu. this is a very unique steakhouse. Wacker drive is under construction and difficult. The Palm is located in the Swissotel. they have 2 hours free valet parking last I knew

very attentive and friendly staff. nice setting with all the characters on the walls. a comfortable place. food was quite good. we shared a caesar salad, thankfully with plenty of salted anchovies. she had steak, which was totally competently prepared, and she noted that the quality was top notch. I had veal, which was really tasty, and we shared creamed spinach, also to be recommended. very creamy and cheesy. overall, a nice meal. admittedly a bit pricey, but not outrageous and not pretentious as can be the place for some steak restaurants.

My husband and I picked the Palm because of the proximity to our hotel. We did not expect the value and outstanding service we received. The lobster special was amazing, but more amazing was the staff. The table next to ours was a bit gregarious, and the maître de, Lana came and asked us if we wanted to move, totally unsolicited. The chef felt our lobster was sub par, so at least 3 staff came and apologized for the delay- which we didn’t even notice and we were given a free appetizer for our wait. We were checked on constantly and the food was terrific. I will definitely put the Palm on my list of must do restaurants as we travel. Thanks to all the staff for a fabulous experience.

The new renovation is beautiful! My boyfriend and I went in for dinner and had Michael as our server, he was hilarious and nice. I'm gluten and dairy free and he made great suggestions and answered all my questions. We had the deconstructed shrimp cocktail. The shrimp were huge and had great flavor. My entree was seabass and was delicious and the perfect size portions. My boyfriend had one of there special cocktails which was delicious!! He also had a steak with a side of the cheesiest augratin potatoes. Soooo good!! Will be back soon!!

I highly recommend eating dinner here. The food and the service were wonderful. If you’re in the mood for dessert, try the chocolate cake. It’s seven layers of decadence and can easily be shared by two people. Paired with a delicious cappuccino, it was the perfect ending for a delicious meal.

I made a reservation at The Palm Restaurant. The restaurant manager made reservations earlier for me. As I explain to the Manager Victor my detail plan to propose to my girlfriend. So at 10:00pm we dined and it was very nice and elegant. The lights was dim and the entire restaurant was breeding ground for a romantic evening. Victor was great ensuring that the moment was just right. The steak that I order was cooked to perfection. So if your near The Palm Resturant you won’t be disappointed am with the steak. I order dessert which was key lime pie. But on the plate was the ring box. But the Ring was in my hand. Once my fiancé opened the box I presented the ring. The whole Restaurant applauded and congratulated us. The Palm Resturant is a great place to dine and relax. I enjoy them and we will be back May times to celebrate 🎉

My husband and I were staying at Swissotel and stopped in the Palm for drinks and couple shrimp cocktails. These shrimp were 8 count/lb...huge and to die for. Great cocktail sauce too. We sat in the bar which has wonderful ambiance and service. Highly recommend.

I ate lunch here while waiting for my room. I was seated promptly. The staff I interacted with were friendly and professional. I had their burger and fries. It came out promptly and properly cooked. I would eat here again when staying at the Swissôtel.

Was recommended as the best steak house in the neighborhood--Blu Aqua Hotel. The food was good but our steak was served on a plate with nothing else on it for embellishment and was quite expensive--would not eat here again!

If you're looking for a great steakhouse without all the pretentious fuss, The Palm is it. I try to visit anytime I find one in a new city I'm traveling to. Always service with a smile, always great food. I love their mixed green salad and their business lunch special. Definitely great for a date, business meetings, or for family celebrations.

I was visiting Chicago for the first time with my 14-year-old in celebration of her graduation from 8th grade, becoming a "high schooler" and her Confirmation. I had not been to The Palm for quite some time but thought it was the perfect place to culminate our weekend and share this delicious restaurant experience with her. And The Palm Chicago did not disappoint! As I understand it, the restaurant just recently went through a redesign and it is really very beautiful. Dignified like other Palm locales I have visited in cities like LA, Las Vegas & NY, but still welcoming and warm. Tomas was our main server and although we'd never met before, he made us feel like long-lost family! We appreciated his impeccable, friendly service. And, of course, the fare was just as good as I remembered. Nothing disappointed. Thank you for being part of a special memory! We look forward to returning some day.

Had a great meal in the palm. Very welcoming staff and our waiter was friendly and attentive throughout the evening without being overpowering. Between us we had a mixture of steak and seafood and all meals were very good. A bit pricey but you get what you pay for.

I was staying at the Swissotel next to the Palm and had dinner there. I was late getting there but they surely accommodated me. I had a Caesar - quite good and then the lambchops which were terrific. Cooked right, plentiful. The server was a nice enough guy All in all a quite pleasant dining experience . I would go back and perhaps even seek this place out.

I had been to the Swissotel hotel in the past but hadn't tried The Palm, located at the ground level. I am glad I tried The Palm. I had the filet which was fine and I had it with the very unique, mouth-watering hash browns (words cannot describe how good this is, I still crave it). My friend had the chicken parm, which in this case is made with Muenster cheese. I hadn't had this variation in the past. The breading and cheese were perfect, in my view. While the steak was good, I was wishing that I too had gone with the "Chicken Muenster". We each had the Andy's Green Salad and we both liked it. These hash browns are magical. I suspect they are pressed (molded) into a skillet and are doused in olive oil and butter. When done I felt like I had just had the best tub on butter popcorn ever. Actually I couldn't finish them all as they were so rich, so be prepared to split the order.

With my bonus check I brought in the whole family for what turned out to be another wonderful dinner. Cousin Eddie, Aunt Bethany, Audrey, Rusty and the whole gang were here. The General Manager, Phil Shirley, came to our table and was a most welcoming host. He even got us to sign up for the 837 Jelly of the Month Club and said it's the gift that keeps on giving. I must have had too much egg nog from the bar..... Holy cow, where's the Tylenol. But seriously..... Palm restaurant encompasses everything that you could possibly want in a fine dining experience. It's not just the food, it's not just the beverage selection, it's not just the atmosphere, it's not just the people you meet, it's not just the service. It's all of the above. That's why my rating is five stars. We celebrated Thanksgiving with our Palm family again this year, we had a pre Christmas visit tonight and we are so looking forward to ringing in the new year here next week. We look forward to the remodeled Palm restaurant in the months to come. Thanks to all our Palm family!

Located in the Swissotel, this just re-opened recently. The staff was super as was the food as always. Calamari was tender and delicious. Bone in dry-aged strip was absolutely phenomenal. Cooked to perfection.

David was great on ensuring we had a great New Year celebration! The table had a fantastic view of the fireworks and Chencho provided spectacular service with attention to every detail. We look forward to go back to The Palm after this first visit!

I have attended a provider-solution partner conference in Downtown Chicago for four years in a row, and always find a way to book a dinner for clients and team members at this excellent establishment. I called ahead to reserve the private room for our party of 15, and Nicole was there to take care of everything, and when we arrived, everything was perfect from my special Chicago style Moscow Mule in the copper cup, to the steaks and the wonderful sides. Try the creamed spinach, always just right. The Service is impeccable.

Like many Chicago restaurants, The Palm has wonderful food and very reasonably priced for being within a hotel.

We only had 45 mins, and had a great time! Fast sandwich for $15 with white table cloth and great pumper nickel bread!

I did not stay in the hotel but my office is in a nearby building. First, The Palm is an amazing restaurant with great food and great service. Secondly, if you are in the area and need to park your car. consider the valet station here. The prices are reasonable and ask for JAMES, he's the best valet there and is extremely friendly and responsible. JAMES is the best! Thank you James!

We enjoyed dinner at the bar, talking with the staff. The bourbon selection was ample, and my wife enjoyed one of there unique cocktails. The food was excellent. In the morning we enjoyed the breakfast and talking with our waiter, Patrick.

Started a best friends weekend at the Palm and had a great time. Lana was the server and was just fun, responsive, gave good service and great suggestions. Day 2 & 3, returned to the bar and couldn't have been more invisible to the two bartenders working on Saturday and Sunday. We left in pouring rain and sleet to seek out another bar where we'd feel welcome. Went to the nearby Fairmont and had a better experience. Food was ok at Palm.

One of the experiences I enjoyed in Chicago was the Palm restaurant. The service from beginning to end was excellent .. The Palm team was friendly , knowledgeable, and attentive. Enjoyed the shrimp sauté ( best shrimp scampi ) and friend enjoyed pasta dish . And breakfast had a speciality that was delicious. Would highly recommend Palm as a gem.

Superb service by an incredible staff. Very knowledgable and great presentation. Pricey but incredible quality. I cannot begin to say what incredible meals and memories have been made at the The Palm in Chicago.

I stopped by The Palm one night during a conference at Swissotel for a quick bite. I thoroughly enjoyed the Louis "Gigi" Delmaestro Salad at the bar. It contains plump shrimp, crisp green beans, tomato, onion, bacon, iceberg lettuce, roasted pepper, egg and avocado, all tossed in a garlic vinaigrette. The salad was fresh and vibrant. The bar staff was pleasant and attentive, making my solo dining experience very pleasant.

Took mom and family here for Mother’s Day lunch. The service here is always top notch and I have never been disappointed. Great food, awesome staff. A bit pricey but it is an upscale hotel restaurant. Would return at any time.

Our waiter was Adam, he did a great job at guiding us through the menu & drinks options. He was knowledgeable, engaging and empathetic so really helped to make our ‘evening out’ with old friends a great memory. We all enjoyed our meals so hats off to the chef and support team. The fish medley special was awesome.

Had to find a restaurant for a large lunch group. This restaurant was very accommodating and put us in a private room. They have an executive lunch that is a good deal - soup or salad, entree and side and dessert. Most in my group ordered that. The broccoli soup was ok, the salads looked great. Food and service was good and they were able to get us in and out quickly.

Nothing new fancy or different.Since my first visit with my father, at the NYC original in around 1946 the quality has been great . The major addition to the menu is a actual menu. Since the Chicago Palm opened at the old Mayfair Regency Hotel their steaks and lobsters . I never grow tired of the atmosphere, the energy and the delicious food.

Steak had off flavor attributed to "aged". Got small steak. It was $49 and came on a plate. Was "a la carte"

Love many of the laundry’s venues, this one is not good. Food was not the best, cold and not great quality. Probably would not eat there again. On the positive side we got a great view of the fireworks from the patio. Very average for the price

Slightly outside busy Chicago downtown. Good service and good food in a nice atmosphere. Good place for lunch before going sightseeing in Chicago.

Staying at Swissôtel and after a long day at conference thought I would take something back to my room. Called ahead and ordered a lobster roll. Was told 25 minutes, arrived at the desk to be told I needed to get it from a bartender. The bar was completely full and insanely busy. They acknowledged me quickly and told me they would be with me shortly. 10 minutes in, they took my money. 30 minutes in, I got a cold over done lobster roll. One side was toasted on the roll the other side was not. As you can see minimal lobster but lots of mayonnaise. I will say their homemade chips were delicious. Of course after the wait, the bartenders arm was starting to look good! Not sure I would bother again.

Food and service very good. Dinner for 6 was at a good pace . Enjoyed the steak tartar . A couple steaks were more medium than med rare which was surprising . Overall food was great

Went twice in September , once I had beef and another time the risotto Both were excellent TOmas , our waiter was great and with a very sharp sense of humor VEry good experience and convenient location

A hotel-attached location with the entry on the front. Cocktail lounge was average in appearance. My boulevardier was assessed an extra fee of $5.00 for a half shot of Compare’. The food was horrible. Fried calamari tasted and gave the appearance of breaded, rubber bands. Obviously, the food was sourced from their kitchen freezer. Impossible to eat. The salad was mostly lettuce. This place is expensive, and the manager should be ashamed.

The Review/Experience I procrastinated for months to write I’ve been dining with the Palm Group of restaurants for decades It was once one of my favorite steakhouses in the world. It inspired me as a young man in my cooking and sourcing of high quality culinary products and the search for experiencing some of the best. There are still some good reasons to return to their select locations for dining items that haven’t been downgraded, replaced or been vastly overpriced far above the expected rate of inflation since the chain was bought out by Landry’s late 2019 to 2020.As new owners Landry’s has both been a blessing and a curse in ownership. Long time clients like myself are well aware of the changes but have stuck it out or since moved on. Many new diners are clueless as to the legacy of their former past years of greatness and what is far worse now. Or for that matter what is actually better & improved now under Landry’s ownership of the Palm. It comes down to some of the dysfunctional decision making or worse occasionally substituting with inferior quality replacement products which is what happened to me. Cost cutting has become rampant and it shows up in a number of focal points or eliminations or downgrades in quality of select menu items. When a guest orders the right items, it can still be a good experience as in the past With some of the changes one could also have a miserable experience if something goes wrong as it can anywhere. At the Palm you need to confront your server or GM at the unit. Not always easy when with family or clients are present and one wants to not embarrass others. There is likely no hope for recovery to problems after departure. Landry’s if contacted will not return emails or phone calls regarding compliments/ praise or failures. They sadly run it like a bad discount airline take it or leave it. Dine @ your own risk. All that said despite the massive turnover of General managers and team members surprisingly the Palm chain has retained some of their past exceptional, honest & passionate unit managers as well as some inspired heartfelt servers who still take care of the guest above and beyond. From my understanding a new GM took over the Chicago unit sometime in 2022. At least that’s what he shared with me by phone. I regretfully contacted him after I ordered a meal that I had delivered through their 3rd party delivery service to my hotel . it was a big surprise that is was a different product entirely not even close to the same high-quality product they serve in their restaurants which I have ordered numerous times. I took photos of this shocking case of bait and switch so others may be aware of it in my corporate circles family and friends. Let the buyer beware. I returned to another unit and they restored my confidence that the biggest concerns are just with the Chicago location Could it be a ghost kitchen using the Palm name? Perhaps The GM went on to say that he knows nothing about the food served at the Palm and was still learning. Is that the flight attendant flying the plane? However he said his chef would certainly follow up with me. Unfortunately that never happened. The Chicago Palm location is now on my do not go black list despite my interest in continuing my business with them in other cities. The Palm GMs I have personally known for years will not deceive guests and feel much like family or friends after all these years CEO Tilman Fertitta owner of Landry’s and many such high-end brands/ establishments in many ways is a business genius on a number of levels that i admire. That said its high time however he works much harder in all of his many brands to instill superior customer relationship management and keep the brand standard high as he has demonstrated in a number of his celebrated brands he brilliantly acquired over the years. Mastro’s Del Frisco Morton’s to name drop a few Iconic legends. With the opportunity of a lifetime owning the Palm its my sincere hope he doesn’t water down the Palm or any of his premium brands. The Palm is part of my DNA I only hope its future is as bright as its once past legacy. Happy New Year and many great meal and experiences to All

Long time Palm aficionado. Started @ the original in NYC on second avenue for birthdays and special occasions as a child growing up in the 70’s. Fast forward to moving to Chicago in 1987 and went to the Mayfair Regent 2x a month at a minimum. When I did a stint for work in SF would fly to the Las Vegas location for my fix such a devotee was I. So this review is painful for me to write. Two times the Palm has opened and closed in our city, and both times I believe it has disappointed. The old Palm had sawdust and dark wood, and was reminiscent of the original. The newer incarnation in the Swiss may have lacked that character, but at least the menu was the same. This time they tinkered with nirvana with disastrous results. Gone is the veal in any incarnation from the menu. I would argue that the Palm nationally has one of the best veal parms, and the Palm Too the best veal chop parm around. I am a firm believer that a meal @ any of the big steakhouses with sister locations should be similar in different cities with maybe a tweak or two in an appetizer that appeals to locals. Chicago is a steak and Italian food city so I don’t understand the logic of removing an Italian specialty off the menu, especially as it is still abundant at other locations in other cities. I know globally it is still very popular. There is a reason why Carbones is so difficult to get into worldwide, and why Il Mulino and Sinatra’s in Las Vegas are so popular, and that is the oft written about veal chop parm. Are New Yorker's palettes that much more sophisticated than Chicagoans’ that they can appreciate veal and we can’t? I know Gibson’s would disagree because the veal Chop Milanese is an anchor on their Italia menu of which they spent a considerable sum to open. At least they didn’t take the half and half off…. Crushed…

Way too much money for food that was bland and made with low-quality ingredients. The drinks were pricey and low quality too. Ambiance loud even with an empty restaurant. Bring a sweater too. The air conditioning was robust and they said they had no control over it.

Great service, mediocre steak. I’ve never had a Wagyu steak that was tough and similar to a cheap cut of steak. Everything else was very good.

I love The Palm. If I visit a a city and they have a Palm.... that’s where I am dining. Everything in the menu is delicious. Great cocktails and great service. I love the renovations they made at the Palm Chicago.

Comparing a recent lunch at The Palm to memories of excellent dinners there in the past is a tough assignment--the bar is already very high. Going back almost thirty years, I can still savor the first dinner I had at The Palm and then many which followed. Under those circumstances, it would be tough for a first time lunch visit to measure up to a legendary dinner (though I have been to quite a few restaurants, especially in Napa Valley, which have served lunches as excellent as their dinners). At The Palm over the New Year's holiday weekend, I got the impression that they were not trying very hard. The food was good but not great; the service was cheerful but imperfect. Soup sloshed on the plate and the server smelled like she had just come in from a smoking break. The focus at The Palm is dinner; staying open for lunch seems to be a convenience for hotel guests (which is what we were).

Excellent waiter service. Kim Crawford wine love was excellent. I had linguine with clams and chicken with avocado sandwich. The restaurant was nice.

the food is very fresh and delicious. Very fair prices, considering the quality. I like the variation on the menu.

I snuck out from some business meetings across the river for a quick dinner and I was not disappointed. My steak was perfect and the service was outstanding. While I usually recommend most of the Palms around the country, this is one of the best.

The bartender was very accommodating. The TV's were showing the baseball game AND the golf tournament. The physical restaurant is very inviting and fun with popular people's faces on the walls; some with signatures. The menu is very good, and the wine list is good. Service is top notch. If you are staying at the SwissHotel, this is a must.

The Palm is located in the Swissotel, right on the river, across from the Sheraton and next door to the Hyatt Regency. If you are staying at one of those places, it is a convenient and short walk, especially when weather seems challenging. The place is cozy, friendly, the service reasonably prompt and the food good. The full bar and a very good wine list complement the quality of the food. There are many outstanding places to eat in Chicago, so good places, like the Palm, compete with all other steakhouses and various ethnic cuisines. THis most recent event was a group dinner on the second floor private room. The Palm did a very good job, feeding 50+ guests in a short period of time, following a delightful reception with wines, cocktails and multiple hors d'oeuvres.

We arrived at the restaurant about 5 minutes early for our reservation and were seated. After about 5 minutes, the server (Adam) came to our table and asked if we wanted drinks. My wife asked for a black napkin, and we ordered drinks, two iced teas. This immediately seemed to change the attitude of the server, who after an additional 10 minutes returned to take our orders, no drinks or bread with him. We reminded him about the iced teas and black napkin. We were with another couple also an 837 member with whom we have dined at your Chicago and the now closed Northbrook location many times. Our two wives ordered prime rib; My friend's wife was very specific in saying she didn’t want hers put on the grill to make it medium, just wanted it off the roast, but medium. She stated this at least three times. The bus boy brought water and we asked for bread; it was now almost 20 minutes after being seated, and finally he brought the bread. About ten minutes after taking the order, Adam returned to say there was only one prime rib left. My wife said to give it to our friend and ordered a bone-in rib eye. By this point, we were wondering if Adam was ignoring us, but after another ten minutes, our salads arrived. After eating the salads, we waited about fifteen minutes for our entrees. While waiting, another table that had arrived after we did received their entrees from their server and were having their lobster cracked. Our entrees arrived, the prime rib was obviously reheated on the grill or oven, and there was nobody to crack our lobster. Adam tried to justify that the prime rib wasn’t on the grill but was covered when placed on the grill. She returned her meal and lost her appetite. While this discussion was taking place, nobody came to crack our lobsters, so I went to the front and spoke to the two manager/maître D’s and asked for someone to come and crack our lobsters. By now they had been sitting on the table for almost ten minutes. Someone came shortly after to crack them, a very nice bus boy, the only person who treated us well all evening. One of the managers came over and listened to our concerns regarding the service and the food, and kept saying OK. Then the general manager Phil came over and basically was making excuses and getting upset with us. I showed Phil a section of my lobster that was a combination of meat and black liquid that was very unappealing. I have eaten lobster at the Palm and elsewhere and never had this black liquid mixing with my meat. There is always black that is inedible, but it is not liquefied and mixing with the meat of the lobster. Phil came back later and said your meal is on us in a snippy voice and walked away. This wasn't our first visit to this restaurant, but will be our last, in fact, we have been eating at the restaurant for over 20 years. Poor service, poor food, and arrogant management are not acceptable.

Located in the Swissotel right downtown by the river. A great place to eat with a good menu. The food was great and the service fantastic. I was with a large group and we all had a great time.

Took my aunt here while she was in town for a conference. I had never been even though I live in Chicago, so I was pleasantly surprised at this "hidden" gem. Our server, Adam, was welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu and the ambiance was perfect for a nice dinner (not too loud or crammed into tables). The Burrata was AMAZING and the servers wine pairings were on point. We also enjoyed the Creamed Spinach, Bacon Wrapped Scallops and the Chicken Martini. I can't wait to go back to try the steaks! I would absolutely recommend for your next trip to Chicago if you're looking for a classic, delicious meal.

I had dinner one night and breakfast the last morning and was pleased with the service, the food and the atmosphere.

Nice restaurant, just off the Magnificent Mile, at Swiss Hotel. Good choice from the menu, with good meat off the grill, and good wine list as well. Quite expensive, but you do not expect a cheap check there.

All the food was fantastic. 4# lobster, bone in NY Strip, Chilean Sea Bass as well as the Monday night salad and deconstructed shrimp. The wine flowed the waitress was superb. It’s was a perfect evening!!!

Not my best experience at The Palm. My first time at this location. Went with friends who were regulars, they weren't happy, it Took forever to be waited on, our drinks took even longer to arrive. My Tuna appetizer was full of fat which was soooo surprising. Not a great experience, no need to return.

Had drinks at the bar to celebrate our anniversary. The bartender was fun, and suggested great drinks for your celebration.

I recently attended a conference at the Swissotel and The Palm Chicago is located in the same building. My husband and I had lunch at The Palm Chicago on the first day of the conference. We enjoyed it so much that he made reservations for lunch at The Palm Chicago on the second day of the conference. The staff at The Palm Chicago were all so nice and very accomodating ~ and the food was absolutely delicious on both days! On the first day, I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and my husband ordered the steakhouse burger. Delicious ~ I would recommend both! On the second day, I ordered the chop-chop salad with blackened chicken and my husband ordered the power lunch (two courses ~ salad and steak). Again, delicious! And as I mentioned earlier, the staff were all so kind and friendly. The lunch selections were average priced. We will definitely return if we are in the area ~ and I would definitely recommend The Palm Chicago to my friends and family.

Visiting friends in Chicago downtown early January, we were invited to the "The Palm". Our reserved table was right in the middle of the dining hall, it was cramped and we could not hear what the other one was saying from across the table - without shouting. Acoustics. The menu provides relatively little choice. Steaks (50 - 60$), some seafood (Steaks / Lobster and some Italian specialties). I chose an Italian wine (70$). Shortly after, the waitress came back to say it was sold out, offering another wine (on special) for about 90$. She offered a sample, which was disappointing. My wife ordered (to keep it simple) an Am. Chateau St. Michele. Result: also sold out. We gave up since our dinner had arrived, drank water through the whole meal. Food quality is good, but we were constantly disturbed by waiters walking by, talking and laughing to colleagues. We left as soon we finished our meal, knowing we would never come back again. Has nothing to do with Swiss standards of dining. Or with the Swiss airline. Only bad luck this evening? Maybe our expectations were too high. Beware, the choice of wines under $100. is very limited or sold out. I wonder why!??

The Palm for New Years Eve. No where else will you find a classier place to be. We have now gone three times to the Chicago location for the holiday and have had a blast each and every time. You must ask for Julia as your server for she has been one of the key reasons the night has been so incredible. She is a rock star! The newly renovated design is great too and if you stay long enough you can see the navy pier fireworks from outside the building.

Our group of 10 had dinner at The Palm. The food was very good, wine was OK, service was very good and the restaurant decor was striking. The noise level was minimal. Overall, a good experience.

Recommended by concierge at the Grand Sheraton, we had a booth for the evening after the Chicago marathon. Food was fantastic and we could not fault our waiter Spencer. The steak was fantastic as was the chicken parma. Wonderful!

Excellent as always. Exquisite food for nothing of us. The service by “Chencho” was more than best ! He was there all the time trying to make our dinner perfect He accomplished that with the help of his assistant always ready to serve us water or any other needs Thanks Palm Chicago

My husband and I were recently married and because we didn't take a traditional honeymoon, we decided to spend the weekend in Chicago at the Swissotel for a "honey weekend". We chose to dine at The Palm for our dinner date because of it's convenience being at the hotel. We also knew going into our weekend that we were willing to splurge and we certainly did with this dinner. We started with an apple martini for my husband, a glass of pinot grigio for myself, and the calamari appetizer. It was a large portion and very tasty. I didn't care much for the marinara sauce that came with it though. For our entrees I had a weekend special.. $49 for a small lobster tail and the 9oz filet. Considering the regular menu price for the 9oz filet alone is $48.50, this was a great deal! The lobster, which came with drawn butter, was delicious and my steak was (mostly) cooked to my liking. I ordered medium rare and it came a little over that, but it was still very good, although it was underseasoned. I am not one to typically add more salt to my food, but really felt like I needed to with the steak. My husband had the 14oz filet and also felt his was underseasoned. He also ordered his steak medium rare and while I found mine to be slightly over, his was cooked much under, almost to a rare. He didn't mind too much though and said it was still good. For our side dishes, we ordered a shared portion of the au gratin potatoes and an individual side of creamed spinach. The potatoes were a big hit. They were delicious! Unfortunately the spinach was just blah. Again, underseasoned and just not impressive. For being a "signature item", I expected more. The individual portion size is on the larger size, with the shared side not being much larger. It was still plenty for us though considering all of the other food we had ordered. We were offered a dessert menu, but chose after dinner drinks instead. My husband had an apple martini and I had a french kiss martini from the drink menu. He liked his; I hated mine. Mine was supposed to be made with Chambord Raspberry Liqueur, Kahlua Coffee Liqueur, Bailey’s Irish Cream, and fresh-brewed espresso, but all I tasted was coffee. And I like coffee, but it was just too much. When we received our bill, we were pleasantly surprised that our after dinner drinks were complimentary to celebrate our recent marriage. Super nice gesture! Even after the $29 in drinks removed, our total with tip still came to $220. Much more expensive than we will ever normally spend on a dinner. The service was attentive, and our waitress was super nice. Our food came out quickly, possibly a little too quick as we wanted to enjoy our evening, but I never felt too rushed either. I didn't care for the pushiness of joining the club they have there, but I assume that's just a requirement of the job. I also didn't care for the decor with the characters all over the walls. It somehow made it feel less romantic and fancy. Overall, it was a really good experience. Because it's an extremely rare occurence for us to drop that kind of money on a dinner night out, I don't think we would return. And if we were willing to splurge again, I think there are other places that we would like to try for a similar price point.

The Palm is one of top 5 restaurants... period. New Year’s Eve was the last night before the renovation. Can’t wait for my next visit to see the new decor.

Held a corporate dinner and the private room as perfect. We had a dinner menu prepared for our event. The food was delicious. I would recommend the filet mignon. The guests were thrilled. I would definitely make this a restaurant to visit if staying in Chicago, especially if you are staying at the Swissotel.

The Palm is a great place to eat wherever you find one. Fun atmosphere, great service and great food. Hard to beat their lobster when available and also great steaks.

Nice place and good food excellent service. Not too expensive. Located in the Swiss hotel downtown Chicago. We go regularly. We ordered steak and wedge salad. Very full

I should have taken a picture so I could show everyone the amount of gristle in my $43 NY Strip! I was so disappointed. I should have went with everyone else and got the ribeye or the porterhouse. Or better yet, should have went with the lobster bisque which everyone at the table who ordered it raved on how good it was. A couple got the 'surf & turf', and their lobster tails were huge. I was also impressed that the wait staff assisted those having lobster with cracking the claws so they didn't make a mess. The ambience at the restaurant was very nice. It had kind of a Sardi's or Brown Derby feel with all the pictures on the wall of local and national celebrities. Matt, at the bar was accommodating and patient as we waited for all the members of our party (4 couples). When he mixed my mojo to, he told me if I didn't like it, it keep making it until I did. What a rarity, a bartender who takes pride in his work and wants to please his clients. The wait staff was also very friendly. Even tho we were having a late meal (there was only a party of two remaining when we finally left), they did not rush us but let us enjoy each other's company. Even presenting us with cheesecake to share, which was delicious. My only regret was not sending that steak back. And for the price, I should have.

We were on a break from our meeting at the Hyatt, and although a lot of us showed up at the same time, the service and the food was really good.

Yet another tremendous experience with The Palm - Chicago last weekend. It never disappoints. Excellent service from Julian and company. Always nice to be greeted and seated so promptly and with a smile. We enjoyed the summer lobster special for two and a very nice bottle of wine. Everything was excellent! Our go-to place anytime we are in downtown Chicago. Steven F and company do a superb job and we wish we could go more often. All of the food is tremendous! From the Italian dishes to the steaks/chops onto the lobster! Everything is top notch. We pick The Palm over tons of other places to dine downtown. It is our first choice, always! Do yourself a favor and head to The Palm-Chicago (or any of the other locations across the US and beyond.

The two stars received were for excellent service and good atmosphere. With 8 people, none of the steaks or seafood was prepared correctly. Steaks were dry, and lobster over cooked. Brussel sprouts were bitter. Wedge salad and calamari appetizer was good, but not exceptional. Very disappointed.

The Palm was a trademark name in the restaurant business before McDonald's and White Castle and Steak 'n Shake and Burger King and Capital Grille. Founded in 1926 in New York City, the chain has expanded internationally and now has locations from New York City, Boston and Miami to Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Beverly Hills to Houston, San Antonio and Nashville. Did I mention Mexico City? The Palm in Chicago, located at 323 East Wacker Drive in the posh Swissotel Chicago overlooking the Chicago River, a short walk from the Magnificent Mile, has been a fixture on the city's restaurant scene for several years. Open from 11 to 10 daily, it specializes in steaks with lots of tasty trimmings. My wife and I started with seared scallops, a jumbo shrimp cocktail and a Steakhouse Wedge salad with Danish blue cheese, toasted walnuts, bacon, cherry tomatoes, chives and fried onions. For an entree, my wife chose a Chilean sea bass fillet with sauteed spinach and three-cheese au gratin potatoes. I was tempted by the larger ribeye, New York strip and porterhouse steaks but settled for a nine-ounce center cut filet with lobster truffle butter, two jumbo shrimp sauteed with shallots, mushrooms and sundried tomatoes, garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. For dessert, we shared large slices of key lime pie and chocolate cake. A wonderful fine dining experience. The Palm has been satisfying customers for 95 years. That's a pretty good track record.

Classic chophouse that started in NY - several location throughout. This location is smaller, a bit let intimate as it’s attached to the Swissotel. Decent food, wine selection and service.

There is so much competition for steak in Chicago and the Palm is simply average. Strip steak was done to order-medium rare- but dry and lacked good seasoning. Sides are for sharing. Skip the goat cheese mashed potatoes. Not particularly creamy or flavorful. Service good. Waiter brought assortment of desserts for our group of 8. Donuts were the best. Carrot cake so so. Key lime pie was tasty.

Arrived at Swissotel early and famished. Nice little bar area and reasonable menu. Bar tender was great and gave me a few recommendations. Had the Ahi Salad and it was terrific. I may come to try the entree for dinner!

Atmosphere was appealing; yet food was just not. We went for a business get together that we were invited. We both had the filet...it was just a plain little piece of meat on a plate albeit tender. Items are a la cart, if you want sides, those as well were bland and uninviting. We were all sorry we chose that restaurant with all the amazing restaurants we could have chosen.

Rock solid steakhouse. I had the standard fare: NY Strip, couple of sides. As you would expect with a steakhouse, everything was pretty expensive. Steak all sides a la carte. Expensive but not unexpectedly so. I was actually pleased to see that they haven't caved to having the trendy Wagyu options.

Although this restaraunt is part of the Sweissotel I found it to have a wonderful menu and great wait staff.

We went to The Palm for my mother-in-law's birthday. I had never been there before, but everyone I was with had been there and had great things to say about it! The restaurant really lived up to the expectations they had set for me! Everyone when ordered a steak received it perfectly cooked! I had the sea bass and it was outstanding! We also ordered a 7lb lobster for the table. It came already cut and it tastes as good as it looked. The sides were also outstanding! We ordered 2 types of clams, lobster mac and cheese , 2 types of potatoes, asparagus and salad and everything was excellent!!! Some people also ordered drinks. I don't drink so maybe the prices were reasonable, but a vodka and cranberry was $17 and don't get me started on the wine! I don't mind paying for good food, but a vodka and cranberry is the same no matter where you go. Those reading this can judge alcohol prices for themselves. Since I'm not a drinker it could be that the prices just seemed high to me! I would highly recommend this restaurant if you want a great meal with great service!

The steak was significantly overdone done. To her credit, the very nice waitress wanted to replace it but I asked for a bearnaise sauce instead. The sauce was exceptionally Bland and I think from a plastic container from outside of the restaurant. The green bean side showed no flavor whatsoever. The french fries were good. Average at best and when you take in the cost not worth it. Admittedly, management did come over and asked me about my meal which I unfortunately had to relay was less than satisfactory. She was very accommodating. Perhaps would give another chance based on the service but the food was not spectacular.

We had our xmas dinner at The Palm. The waiter recommended a combo of beaf and lobster which half of the table took. The lobster was undercooked and returned to the kitchen. They said it will be cooked and returned but they give it to another table. We got a beaf instead. The Service was very slow we had to wait to get the beaf and to get the bill etc. I orderd my sallad with the dressing on the side. I did not get the dressing right away, had to ask for it. Almost everything went wrong. The only positive thing I can say is that the waiter could recommend good wines. I will not go there again. Price and quality did definetly don’t match.

Very good meal. Generous drinks. Very nice surroundings. Expensive parking. All around good but still quite pricey. Very good service. Just not my go to place. Not sure why exactly but..... Nothing wrong but just not quite engaging enough for the cost.

Waited over 2 hours to get my steak and it wasn’t even good at all, the server were bad and forgot to give most of us our souse and drinks.

great drinks and delicious appetizers friendly staff and the folks having dinner around us the entrees look fabulous!

Great food Super attentive manager and server. Ate there 2 nights in a row. Very consistent. I highly recommend

A very Yummie Lobster Roll and side, and great soup. Very pleasant atmosphere. I was sole diner but this would be very good spot for business lunch. Fair prices for being The Palm and in The Loop. Every bit as good as The Palm Washington DC.

We enjoyed our 4th of July dinner outside at The Palm. We loved their Lobsterfest!! The food was delicious and the service outstanding!!

My entrée was perfectly prepared and the service was efficient and attentive during a very busy lunch hour.

So for 2 appetizers, one main course and 2 drinks it was $150. I guess there could have been more lobster in the lobster bisque for that money. Most notably affecting the rating was that I ordered a drink and told the server it was too strong. When I told the server, instead of taking it back, she just poured in a bit more of the mixer. She honestly should have noticed that I didnt touch the drink and take it off the bill, or at least checked and taken it back. It is important for servers to know and understand that people might not want to complain for a variety of reasons, and at this price point, should be this attentive.

Enjoyable dining experience. Our server was attentive and made wonderful recommendations. The lobster I ordered was perfection - decadent and delicious. The Palm is located right off of the Magnificent Mile, which makes it only a nice walk away from hotels on Michigan Ave. A great choice if you are looking to enjoy a little steak and seafood.

Celebrating a birthday and couldn't be more pleased with choosing the palm. From the drinks to my delicious lobster dinner, it was worth every penny. Our waiter, Adam, was phenomenal.

After checking in to the Swissotel we decided to grab a quick lunch and sat in the bar at The Palm. We ordered Lobster Roll and Grilled Romaine and Crab Salad (apparently a new - addition to the menu). Both were delicious. The salad was very creative and a great combination of flavors. The Lobster Roll was chocked full of lobster salad and while I didn't taste it personally - report is that it was a winner. Christina, our server, was very prompt and friendly and made us feel right at home. Definitely a good stop!

Had planed thanksgiving dinner there. Spoke to managers and waitstaff about the turkey being gluten free and was told yes. The service was horrible, we had guests that told the waitress they needed gluten free, then she brings out dinner and the entree was not gluten free. We are talking people who can get sick if they eat gluten. The food was tasteless, I would never go this restaurant, nothing at all was good.

I was in Chicago for business and The Palm is always my go to place due to the predictability of the Food and Service. Always impeccable! It was November and the weather was decent so it made the dinner even more enjoyable. From the beginning to the end (dessert) was a fun night.

Another great steak dinner at the Palm. Classic American steak house. Good bar. Watched game seven at bar with a steak, cocktails and fun.

Only a short walk from our hotel. Loved the ambiance and the characters on the walls of all the famous people who have eaten there. Our waitress was very good, explained the meal options perfectly and offered suggestions when asked. I had the crab cakes, delicious!! They do not have all the filler ingredients, it is 90% crab, cooked to perfection. Sides are shareable, and perfect with our meal. Definitely recommend the Palm Chicago!!

It's nice to have a really good restaurant in your hotel. Food and service were great. My only regret was that I was too full to try one of their beautiful desserts.

I only write reviews when a place is 1star or 5 stars. The Palm has slipped off the scale. I have been eating at Palm restaurants since there was but one location,NYC. I have eaten there, D.C., Vegas, and many, many times in my hometown of Chicago. I have been a member of their “loyalty” program, 839, since its inception. Since they closed their suburban location in Northbrook several years ago, we now only go once or twice a year, in the Summer, for the lobster special. They used to have a great Manager who got transferred. Our favorite waitress from Northbrook transferred downtown, but they had a falling out with her and she left. But, we still went. Went a few weeks ago. When I gave them my 837 card, I was told it had expired since I hadn’t been there in 12 months. I never heard of that, nor did I ever get an email or any notice about it. Plus, the restaurant had just reopened after being closed for several months for remodeling. Waiter said to contact 837 club for reinstatement and to get credit for the $130 I just spent. I got on the 837 website and sent an email requesting that. Just got an email back: Dear xxxxx (my old membership #). They can’t do anything. I have to go to the restaurant, fill out an application, pay $25 (which will be refunded via a gift card), have the restaurant send in my application, and they will “consider” it. (By the way, when you want to cash in points for a certificate, you can’t do it on the website. You have to call.) With all the great steakhouses in Chicago (Gene and Georgette’, Chicago Cut, Steak 48, Gibson’s, etc.), who the heck is trying to run this place into the ground? I suggest they hire someone from Lettuce Entertain You, to learn how to reward customers.

Excellent food and location. Nice choice. We ended up here as the Hotel Concierge recommend the location for fireworks and the food. Thank you Susie from the Renaissance!

Food excellent. Had the salmon, asparagus and baby kale salad. Very good food. Service very good. But be prepared - everything is ala carte!

I go back a long way to when The Palm was next to the Drake Hotel. They have done a terrific job in transporting the atmosphere to where they are now. Portions are huge so share. Food very good and rely on waiters to suggest. No view but great for a good meal.

When we travel to our Chicago apartment, every few months, we try to eat at the Palm and have a lobster dinner. No where in the world (except for Maine) are the lobsters so succulent and tasty. Splurging on perfection is well worth the trip. Staff, service and food are all 5 stars in our eyes. I have been a guest at at the Chicago Palm for over 40 years and, although I sometimes miss the sawdust on the floor at its original East Lake Shore Drive site, the ambiance of the present location, as well as the Beverly Hills, New York Palms and Palm Too, are just fine. Keep up the good work so I am always richly rewarded while dining on my "treat"!

My wife and I enjoyed our meals...we dined on lobster, parmesan garlic fries and for dessert...must have donut holes with raspberry sauce!!! Oh my, yum!!! Very friendly staff and Chef!!!

Date night with my boyfriend brought me here. We had a ridiculously large lobster, that was amazing. But what blew my mind was the creamed spinach! I could have eaten the entire dish. It was more like Spinach au gratin. I still can't stop talking about it.

I have eaten at this location in pass years on company business. Make reservations to ensure you can be seated.

I was there 5 days this past week for business. Both the food and the service was amazing. Leticia, Rossano, and all the other staff were great.

Enjoyed cocktails, an afternoon snack, and breakfast at the Palm during our stay, Service and food were excellent. My only complaint would be the pricey menu, and the lack of any "specials" or promotions.

We have a daughter at DePaul University and come to Chicago regularly to visit her. We have made our rounds of the major steakhouses and have to say that The Palm is the best so far! The food is outstanding but is complimented by outstanding service. We visited The Palm on Sunday August 19 and were helped by Lisa who as so very nice and personable. She truly made the evening.

Wherever I go, if there is a Palm Restaurant, that's where I go. Just the best steaks, lobster and cocktails.

The food was excellent. I had Meatball appetizer and clams casino! The service was great and our waiter was personable and professional

Went here for a group dinner and had a nice experience. We had a set menu and everything was served family style (tables of 8) and got to try every menu item. Started with a salad course with 3 choices: classic caesar, mixed green and chopped tomato & onion. All were crisp, fresh and tasty. The main choices were: 14 oz. of sliced NY Strip, chicken parmigiana, linguine with jumbo shrimp and salmon fillet with citrus butter & mango salsa. All were solid. Sides were wild mushrooms (fabulous) and three cheese potatoes au gratin. Dessert consisted of a selection of many of their desserts and were quite good. Not a chain guy but for a group outing, I'd recommend it.

Overall, this atmosphere was great. Quite loud though, to the point of a table of 5 needing to break into 2 conversations due to inability to hear the other side of the table. Dinner was good although I've had better steaks. No one at our table got lobster; although in retrospect that would have been a good idea. I would happily return to The Palms.

If I’m visiting a city and they have a Palm...I’m there! This is one of my favorite places to dine. This is the only restaurant where I don’t have a favorite dish because everything is always a hit. From the Gigi salad to the 4 lbs lobster, you will love it all.

Nice meal, unnecessarily expensive for what it is. The salmon was nice and buttery; onion rings are tasty. Wouldn't eat here again though, unless the boss asked for it.

Went for dinner with my wife. The food was delicious and on point. The service by Michael was impeccable. If you have the opportunity to dine here do it.

Greeted by every worker I came across while in the restaurant for breakfast and for the private dinner for my association. The staff was very accommodating and my meeting participants enjoyed themselves. We had a set menu, the whipped potatoes and greens beans were great and served family style which was a nice touch. I also experienced the breakfast on my own. Don't get the order of 2 eggs unless you're sharing, it's actually a pretty large proportion. The waffle was huge and delicious and the fruit with it was a whole bowl which was nice also.

The Palm never fails in providing a warm ambiance, excellent service and delicious meals. We dined two nights in a row as we were staying at the Swissotel where the restaurant is located. Servers both nights were friendly and attentive without being bothersome. We enjoyed a chat with the manager as well. The chicken parmigiana was huge! Really enjoyed the crab cocktail and Palm meatball appetizers. You cannot go wrong dining at any Palm.

Overall experience was was very, very good. The atmosphere was somewhat of a "converted old house into a restaraunt" design; which meant a bunch of small rooms on different levels :) , so you get a semi feeling of privacy, yet no feeling of being closed in as there was always an open wall. Our dining area had ont table ( ours) and 2 smallish booths. Good place for either a business dinner or a tete-a tete with that special someone. The service was excellent; everyone that we spoke to was friendly, helpful, and knew their product (fine eating experience) very well. The food was very good, but not what I call excellent (in my case at least). I had the Veal Margarita ( Veal Marsala w/ some tomato added) Veal was tasty but tough and I don't think the tomatoes added anything to the basic Marsala version. The other two in the party said their meals (one steak and one seafood) said their meals were excellent. The cost for three of us: meals + tip, no drinks : $285 Would I go back? as long as it is on an expense account, yes definitely.

Waiter came over to take my order. He put his hand on back of my chair and leaned over me very close. I told him “no, step back, i am not comfortable at all with you leaning over me.” He took his hand off the back my chair amd took a step away, but still it seemed he purposely stayed ‘in my space’. He took order & walked away.... and so did i. Along the way back to my hotel room, i told everyone what happened. You would think that a place like The Palm would hire only professional waitstaff and not disgusting perverts.
Great place for brekky!
Wonderful, flexible attentive service from Adrian and his colleagues. Good food and coffee! Excellent choice. Highly recommend.
