Worth the Wait!

By Rogelio72 |

It was an hour wait but it was not regretted. If was a wonderful ethnical experience. I suggest the Coconut Beef to anyone who hasn't eaten here.

Great food!

By EditorCJP |

We ordered family style so we could try a bunch of dishes. They were all very good to WOW! Our favorites were the elote (Mexican-style creamed corn), pulled pork, sausages and corn bread. Chicken, tri-tip and veggies were good too. Don’t forget the BBQ sauce (in large bottles on the table). So good! The interior of the restaurant is small and spartan. You’re not going for the atmosphere; you’re there to eat BBQ. Parking is a bit difficult. We got there about 15 minutes after it opened and got the last street spot in front of the restaurant. Otherwise, parking is wherever you can find it in the surrounding neighborhood.

Okay meal

By alexisrachelletx |

I was really excited to eat at the Park's Finest when visiting LA this past weekend with my brother and my husband, but we left a little underwhelmed. We shared the Mt. Malindang pork ribs and riblets, Ann's cornbread bibingka, Mama Leah's coconut beef, Oro carrots, and the ube flan. I enjoyed the coconut beef and cornbread best. The other dishes were okay. I was disappointed that there weren't more interesting vegetable/side dishes to pair with the meats. The carrots were fine - underseasoned and definitely on the al dente side (which I prefer to really overcooked, I guess). With the exception of the coconut beef and cornbread bibingka, I didn't really think any Filipino flavors shone - really tasted like regular American BBQ for the most part. The service was really good and very fast, and the restaurant itself is casual but nice. We made a reservation on Yelp for a Saturday night around 7:30, but we didn't need one - they weren't busy and there were empty tables throughout our visit. Overall, the meal was fine but not memorable. I didn't like it enough to plan on going back when I'm next in LA.

Beef Tri-Tip, Elote and Cornbread Bibingka - Loved the Taste

By KENNETH F |

The food along with a friendly staff can make or break a restaurant and this restaurant scored tops in both categories. Besides our server, two other servers stopped by during our meal to ask about our food or for conversation making my wife and I feel right at home! We had the Beef Tri-Tip which was good but made much better by the special BBQ sauce (sweet but with a kick), the Elote, corn off the cob with mayo, parmesan cheese and cayenne pepper, carried a slight kick as well. Plus, Ann's Cornbread Bibingka made for an excellent accompaniment. The location is hard to find if you don't know the area and being featured on Guy's Diners/Dives show has made for long waits at peak periods which may turn off some diners. The atmosphere is family rather than business or a romantic date night. Overall, worth the visit.

50 feet from Knight's Inn. Small, not "top of the line" but the food was great!

By Johnnie L |

On a 10-point scale, we give Park's Finest a seven. We ate there two evenings of the three nights we stayed at the Knights Inn.

Beef Short Rib

By TimBlackDragon |

A table for one is easy enough. Menu is simple as I already know what I want to get. The beef ribs is always my first choice over pork ribs at any BBQ joint. I'm not even sure if I saw the beef rib on the Food Channel when they showed what all The Park's Finest has to offer since everyone orders pork ribs. To my surprise at how the beef short rib is presented, I would say this is a great way to be spoiled. You really don't have to pick up this short rib to eat all of the meat off the bone. Perfectly sliced in every way possible and you can continue with a fork and knife. I still picked it up and ate the rest of the meat off the bone. I ordered the elote which looks a lot like mac 'n cheese. A huge helping of white rice or else this isn't a Filipino BBQ place.

Great Food and Friendly Staff

By Liam |

Friendly and welcoming staff from the moment we arrived. The food was very good and well prepared, with generous portions and great flavour. It is a bit on the pricey side, but the quality makes it worth it. Overall a really enjoyable meal and somewhere I would happily return to.

Great Coconut Beef

By qhunnyb |

Another great Filipino restaurant here in LA. The Park's Finest serves fusion style BBQ and they are well known for it. On my visit we ordered the tri-tip, cornbread bibingka and coconut beef with a side of rice. The tri-tip was very tender but the flavor was not really there for me...I had to use the bbq sauce and sawsawan (sauce in Tagalog) to make the beef work. The coconut beef on the other hand is AWESOME!!! It is full of flavor with a little spiciness to boot...It's a great version of curry. The cornbread bibingka is BOMB...lots of flavor and great balance of sweetness. They featured Crème Caramel LA's ube leche flan so we ordered one. There was nothing really special about it. I could not really taste the ube flavor :( I would try the other bbq meat here next time and will most definitely order the cornbread bibingka again and coconut beef.

Best BBQ in town!

By ZumaDawg |

We have been here before, but we always try to stop every time we are in the area. Their tri tip, rib tips and pork ribs are delicious. The corn babinka is to die for. They were in the middle of a remodel, so the new interior design looks great. The staff are always friendly and attentive, I just wish their soft drinks came from a fountain with ice other than cans. Street parking only on Temple St. Very near Dodger Stadium for early dinner or take ribs with you to game.

Best barbecue we have had in a long time

By David Brian f |

This place is awesome. The chicken,tri-tip and baby back ribs were seasoned beautiful and cut to perfection. We came down from Vegas to try. Staff was very helpful and awesome. Thanks

Great BBQ

By Shredly |

Stayed nearby for a week while working in Downtown LA. I was thrilled to see a BBQ place within walking distance & even more thrilled to discover this place is awesome. It it bad I ate there almost every night? Tri-tip was perfectly cooked. Elote was fantastic & just spicy enough. Ribs & riblets? Great. Smoke roasted chicken? Sells out. Hot links...HUGE portion. Corn bread was amazing & sweet. Loved all of it. Great little selection of beers on tap as well. Went in the morning I left for a massive to-go order. Thumbs WAY up.

Filipino Barbecue Cuisine

By Theo B |

On Temple Street, the main street that cuts through the historic enclave known as Historic Filipinotown in Los Angeles, is perhaps one of L.A.'s hidden gens of a Filipino restaurant - Park's Finest. Usually, the place gets full, especially since it's a popular destination either before or after a Dodgers game, and seating is on a first come, first serve basis....BUT IT IS SO WORTH THE WAIT!!!! Let's start with the space, a modestly decorated and highly-conducive-to-grazing wonderful hole in the wall (except for an artistic rendering of Guy Fieri who came to visit as part of his "Diners, Dives and Drive-Ins" show and lists this restaurant on his website) that seats about 40 or 50 . On weekends, you can see entire families feasting on the cuisine or see friends greet each other with smiles and hugs. Park's has that kind of atmosphere - so personal and so warm. Then focus on the menu, especially the meet items. The Beef Tri-Tip with their home made horseradish sauce is probably one of the favorites on the list simply cause it just melts in your mouth. I also like their Hot Link Medley....sausage (good!)....hot (good!) and just amazing over rice. For vegans, try their Elote (a corn off the cob smoked with butter, pepper, salt, cheese and cayenne-pepper) and pair that with their Veggie Medley (squash and bell peppers). The Smoked Chicken has so much flavor, it's generally consumed in its entirety until the feasters realize it's all gone and I also like their Puller Pork (slow cooked for some 15 hours just to get it just right). But the killer is their Cornbread Bibingkia. In the Philippines, bibingka is made with sweet rice and is related to (imagine if you will) a thick, gooey flan. But, when coupled with sweet cornbread, the result is something quite unique and mildly addicting (10-to-1 you can't just eat one slice!). So if you're in the mood to try some Filipino food and have some time to spare in order to sit back and enjoy, then Park's Finest is definitely a must do when in L.A.

Grilled Filipino BBQ

By drsisters |

I thought the food was just ok. Good cuts of meat, they have their own sauce more on the vinegar flavor rather than sweet and there is a slight kick of spice. Their cornbread is very good and they offer different flavors, which was nice. Restaurant located on a fairly busy street; street parking only. Nothing fancy; they also offer a mixed vege dish and rice. Good, friendly customer service. For Filipinos - the bbq is more like inihaw (or cooked well and dry), no real flavor until you use the sauce, or like my mom would use only vinegar and garlic with salt.

Delicious, plentiful, affordable

By Marcel K |

Since our hotel was nearby, we decided to try this place. A very good decision, as it turns out. We were warmly welcomed and given a brief introduction to the special features of Filipino cuisine. We then ordered the grilled half chicken, beef in coconut sauce (adobo), rice and esquite (corn) and ube for dessert. Everything was sensationally tasty and plentiful. We had never consciously eaten Filipino food before - it certainly wouldn't be the last time! PS: the store also impresses with its varied craft beer selection.

excellent food

By Smile F |

This place is not fancy, very small. We almost missed it when we were looking for it. We ordered to go trip tip, chicken, and the cornbread. The staff let us taste the coconut meat...OMG...the trip tip is so tender and juicy, as well as the chicken:the cornbread just melt in your mouth...and the coconut beef...wonderful blend of spicies with lots of love put into it...this is what I'm talking about...a place like this makes you realize not because it is not fancy, the food is not good. I wish I live close by so I can eat there more often. it is worth the drive!!!!

Coconut Beef?

By Luislo619 |

While in LA this last weekend I came across this place while driving out of downtown LA. The outside Does not look appealing but sometimes these are the best spots. Once inside, I was surprised at how clean this place actually was. A few families were having lunch and I decided to sit at the bar and have a beer. The girl at the bar recommended the Coconut Beef paired with white rice. It sounded different but was glad to have ordered it. The coconut taste was there but not overwhelming. It also had a bit of a kick to it but was very tasty. I had some of their tri tip and that had a nice smoky flavor and was very juicy. I enjoyed the little I had to try there and am sure you will too.

Awesome !

By bccrab |

Great inexpensive filipino style BBQ. The chicken and pulled pork were fantastic. Amazing cornbread. Nice friendly service in an informal family style setting. I loved it and can't wait to go back.

Better Than Anticipated!

By ZumaDawg |

Saw a review of this place on TV and my wife was very eager to go. We were on a bicycle adventure from Malibu and went to Park's Finest for lunch. Helen was our server and she was fantastic. We ordered the tri tip with rice and corn bread. She explained their two sauces and we went to work. The tri tip was better than I could have imagined. I used the house BBQ sauce and it was delectable. The corn bread is as good as any I have ever had. Helen also brought us a sample of the pulled pork and it was even better than the tri tip which is saying something. The pulled pork just about melted in your mouth, that is how good it was. The place is not fancy, with maybe a dozen tables. We went in at about 1pm on a Tuesday and were seated immediately. We were on bikes, so parking was not an issue, there is parking on Temple or around some of the side streets I imagine. Excellent, excellent, excellent!

Definitely Overrated

By Arknwarrior |

Was terribly excited to finally be able to come here for dinner, knowing Guy Fieri had been here and gave the place a thumbs up. The tri-tip is indeed very tender but doesn't taste like anything. The one vegetable dish was alright. The beef in coconut is alright. The best part of the meal was the corn bread (small serving, mind you). Dinner was expensive, it came out to $85.00 (no alcohol) for 3 people, 4 dishes (other dish was the Mexican corn). Definitely a thumbs down.

Great food and service

By MARY K |

We heard about this place as it was featured on Diners Drive-Ins and Dives. Free parking is available on the street as there isn't a parking lot. The staff is attentive and service oriented. The food was rather tasty, never had this type of bbq before. From all the items we ordered. We loved the tri-tip, the grilled veggies and the cornbread. Would definitely recommend as the meal was tasty, moderately priced in a casual setting.

As seen on Diners Dives and Drive Thrus

By AnnieBean28 |

Great Filipino style BBQ! Try the cornbread bibingka! Guy Fieri was here and the food and service was great. Was staying at the Knights Inn which is part of this property for a Dodger game. They also have Stone Brewery beer

Brilliant place for good beer and excellent food!

By jessbai |

Cannot recommend highly enough. Went as two couples, food, Californian beer and service was inpeccable. Visit here!!

Great BBQ and wonderful family place

By monkandthelaw |

The elote was the best, great corn dish. The cornbread was wonderful. The meats were great and the smoking process solid. Above all, it one of the best values in LA. The prices, quality, and quantity are balanced perfectly. I look forward to going again.

Guy from Food Channel recommended??

By Pablo C |

The wife and I were headed home to San Diego from Ventura when we decided to stop at this Filipino restaurant as it was featured on the Food Channel. The location is nothing extraordinary as it seemed like an empty space converted into an eating locale. We were the first ones there as they had just opened. We sat down and looked at their menu (one page). Not much variety in my opinion as we eat quite a bit of Filipino food in San Diego. We ordered their brisket with coconut milk and I ordered their pulled pork. We also ordered a side of white rice. I am not sure what "Guy" was talking about, but in our humble opinion, this place was nothing spectacular. It definitely did not please our tastebuds and left a bit disappointed. I was ready to stop at another place to eat shortly after we left. The price was $2 for three small scoops of rice, and $13 each for the brisket and pulled pork. This was $42 "NOT" well spent. We will not be returning at all.

Not bad

By kisssmee |

I've passed this place so many times but from the outside it doesn't look inviting at all. Once inside though you are greeted with a smile. There is a definite Philippines vibe inside as well. I ordered the Wednesday Work combo which was a little bit of everything. You get the pulled pork, coconut beef, sausage links, chicken, cornbread, veggies and rice. I also got Coconut Beef family style and it's a good amount of food for 3 people. I'd love to come by here again.

Tri-tip yummyness

By ChicagoPair |

Great little restaurant. The tri-tip (which is difficult to find in the Midwest unless you know a good butcher) was divine. The corn bread....I want more. And the beef in curry looked like something my dog might vomit up but tasted heavenly. Yum-o!

Filipino take on BBQ is not for traditionalists

By Bruce10700 |

The BBQ is really very good - particularly the short rib - the most succulent and tasty I have tasted. The pork ribs were also excellent - moist, tender, great smoky flavor. And, the service is great. We were asked about our food and responded that the pork ribs were dry, so without any hesitation we were offered a new serving. The new ones were as I described above - delicious. But, if you are a traditionalist - KC, Texas, Memphis or North Carolina, you will probably be disappointed. The sauces are nothing like what you might expect, although tasty. And, the spice rub is definitely different.

Love the local, family vibe!

By Jun R |

Despite the name, know that this is not fine dining. But it's a fun, family, casual dining experience and food is excellent. It's not Filipino food per se as you don't have things like sinigang or kare-kare on the menu. Calling it Filipino style bbq is fair. We had the ribs and chicken and they were both terrific. The beef in coconut milk was excellent as well. And you definitely have to try the bibingka (corn bread). Limited seating so call ahead.

Worth the drive in!

By StephenA4 |

I saw the Diners. Dives and Drives-in episode a couple of years ago and bookedmarked The Park's Finest. The Bibingka Cornbread was big draw for me while watching the show. So it was the first thing i ordered today. I can say it was as advertised, delicious! I hope they can ship this cause I will crave it from Texas. For my main course I got the Workers Wednesday Special. It has a variety of all the dishes available. Coconut beef, hot links, and candy-coated chicken over rice. My favorites were the coconut beef but those hot links were so good. Longanisa with a touch of heat. Great flavor and excellent with warm rice. Since, I am from Texas I will say it was worth the flight and the long LA drive to have a great meal here!

Who doesn't like smoked meat?

By lowbuxlux |

Here they have smoked meat. The smoked meat has a good smoked flavor, but could have used more season on some choices. This was a yummy treat because some of the meats that were well seasoned, you did not have to drown the meat with sauce to make it flavorful. I stumbled across this place because my Yelp app told me so. Good pick Yelp :-) My niece and I, we had a few items to make sure we tried as much of the menu as possible. The sauces were different from just normal BBQ sauce but also full of flavor. Some things I think were a bit overpriced such as the cornbread. Maybe that should just be thrown in with the meal. If you're into smoked flavors this place will be for you. Not sure about the Filipino authenticity of this place. I've never had any of these items in a Filipino setting, but then again I'm not Filipino and not the expert on Filipino food. :-) This place is not in an area I frequent, so this will absolutely have to be one of those 'I was in the area' type of places in order to return.

Eat Here Now

By Rialyn E |

If you haven’t been to The Park’s Finest already, you need to go NOW. I first tried the Park’s Finest earlier this year when my husband and I were looking for a caterer for our wedding. Having an abundance of delicious food at our wedding was a top priority, and we wanted some type of Filipino fusion food. I remembered The Park’s Finest being featured by YouTube’s The Try Guys so we decided to check it out. Boy, it did not disappoint! We ordered about 75% of the menu as an unofficial wedding taste test, and everything was delicious! As we were eating, my husband and I couldn’t stop telling each other how good the food was, and we knew right away we NEEDED The Park’s Finest to cater our wedding. The Park’s Finest was able to deliver to our venue the day of our wedding, and everyone loved the food! We made sure to order enough so everyone could have seconds and even take home food. My mom still brings up how much she liked the coconut beef and cornbread bibingka. Must-tries are Mama Leah’s Coconut Beef on top of steamed white rice and Ann’s Cornbread Bibingka. The coconut beef is decadent with a hint of spice, and the cornbread bibingka is better than cake in my opinion. If you have room for more, I suggest trying the San Pablo Pulled Pork, Elote, Noel’s Smoked Gouda Mac, and the Ligaya Veggie Medley. These are all the dishes we decided to get for our wedding. Top off the pulled pork with either one of their in house bbq sauces and chase it with an ube or calamansi beer, and you got yourself a fantastic meal. I’m salivating just thinking about it. On top of the food being amazing, everyone I have interacted with from The Park’s Finest has been incredibly nice and welcoming. PLEASE support this business and get yourself a good meal! I can’t wait to get the chance to visit their restaurant again and fill my belly with all the good eats.

Must try elevated Filipino fare in LA

By Kenkhan |

Visited LA and have been looking to try Park's Finest after watching it featured on Food Network. The location did not look promising. From the outside, we started wondering if we were in the right place. The place was small and not too mention hot. They could definitely do better with a good AC. We had to wait a bit to get seated. Food Network definitely did a good number in making the place look spacious and bright. But what the heck, we were there anyway, so might as well try it. After 15 minutes, we got seated. We ordered the trip tip, chicken and Mama Leah's Coco beef with rice. For side, we had cornbread. We had to wait another 10 minutes to eat. The kids in our table we're so hungry they were getting restless. Food finally arrived, either we were all so starving or everything really smelled good. First I tried was the trip tip and boy, the meat was so tender and juicy, not to mention the flavor. The horseradish sauce it came was a perfect complement to balance the meat. Next I tried was the roasted chicken. It was as good if not better than the trip tip- juicy, fall off the bone meat and crispy skin. Saving the best for last, I tried the Coco beef stew. The sauce was tasty but not heavy or cloying. The beef was delicious and the marriage of the few spices used was just we'll balanced. Finally, I tried the cornbread. It was okay. Nothing special but then again how could it compete with the other great dishes I just had. My expectations must have gone several bars higher that it paled in comparison. But it's just a cornbread, and good to wash off the palate. All in all, it was worth the risk. Probably a bad location and dingy place but the food was a gem. So, don't get fooled by how it looks. It's a cliche but don't judge a resto or a book by its cover.

Delicious

By Ria |

Food was delicious! I keep reading how good the coconut beef was, so of course we had to try it. Absolutely delicious! We had a lot of food left over because we ordered so much, so we bought a cooler and ice to bring it back to Northern California! Wasn't about to let that coconut beef go to waste! Cornbread bibingka was amazing! Putting this restaurant on my list of places to go back to! The service was quick, and the server was very attentive.

Not what we expected...

By Cassie-Andy |

We were staying next door at the Knights Inn and got recommended to go here by front desk. We were told it was featured on some food show not long ago. We got seated straight away, there were queues out the door later on. Fast and friendly service however, the menu was very small and not a great selection of sides. Food flavour was rather bland and not quite what we expected. Reasonably well prices and quantity was w=quite good. If we had known it was a Filipino BBQ rather than an everyday BBQ we probably wouldn't have gone. There was no menu outside so we couldn't judge before going in.

Love it!!

By Mayra R |

The staff is very friendly..I enjoy the corn bread and love the sauce for the ribs or longaniza!! Cant wait to go back!!

Yummy!

By Lesliekaos |

We are big Travel Channel & Food Network fans. So if we see a restaurant they featured on there and we happen to go to that city, we look for it. My hubs doesn't like Filipino food that much but he loves The Park's Finest though. First time we ate here and tried Mama Leah's Coconut Beef...gosh! I almost fell off my seat. And hubs had me try dipping the cornbread bibingka in it and it was just perfection. Been there 3-4 times now. Planning to visit again soon to check out their newly renovated space.

Amazing Filipino fare! Delicious and well priced! Loved it!

By Sarina14 |

We arrived late in the day at our hotel, and were tired and looking for a quick bite. We The Knights Inn, which is less than a minute walking distance from the Park's Finest, and decided to try it out. The restaurant itself isn't much to speak of, but the food is outstanding! This was my first ever introduction to Filipino cuisine, and boy, did I like it! So much so that we visited this restaurant twice during our five day stay in LA! Tried out a variety of dishes, including the famous corn bread and the vege medlay and the hot links! Absolutely delicious! If you happen to be in town on a Wednesday, take advantage of the Worker Wednesday Special, which essentially gives you a chance to sample everything the restaurant is famous for! The portions were generous----so if you are a small eater like me, be prepared to carry stuff home! Highly recommend this place to anyone on a budget looking for a scrumptiouis home style Filipino meal.

Dinner time surprise

By Creeping_Death_LA |

I went back to use my gift card that I was given to before the pandemic started. I ordered the Coconut Beef, cornbread bibingka, smoked gouda mac, steamed rice and some beers on tap. The food was very delicious to me I enjoyed it at first bite but my friend was not pleased and didn't like it. Everyone has different taste but this is a good choice for a bbq meal and the service is great.

Not the usual BBQ...

By rngolf |

Heard about this Filipino restaurant and had to give it a try. It was difficult to spot from the street but I'm glad we found it. Coconut beef and tri tip was very good. The cornbread bibinka was excellent. The servers were very friendly.

You MUST come here!!!

By Chakstoneboo |

This was one of the highlights of my trip. We came here quite by accident and boy were we glad we did. Service was super friendly. My friends had never had Philippino BBQ and they were blown away by this place the chicken was good so was the corn bread. This is one of those places where the menu is small because they do what they do WELL!

Went for our anniversary, what a treat!

By CHinSoCal |

My significant other decided bring me here to end a day of seeing the sights in Los Angeles. As others have said, it is not much from the outside. It is a small restaurant under what appears to be a motel or apartments on Temple Street. I was told the name refers to Echo Park's finest Filipino BBQ. I can't say it's the best because there is sure to be somebody's Filipina relative that makes something similar. So in the meantime, we who cannot make these awesome dishes will have to come here. We wanted to order the short rib which we hear is the best thing on the menu but they ran out on a Monday night. The server said it was best to come by Wed, Thu or Fri for this tasty dish since the marinade is done at the start of the week. Instead we ordered Mama Leah's Coconut Beef and ate it over the Veggie Medley. The other dish we shared in lieu of the short rib was the Beef Tri-tip, which is pretty darn good meat as well. It is a much leaner cut and excellent paired with the fruity table sauce. I believe the sauce was made of a pineapple base. The other, more liquid-like sauce was more like a vinegar sauce, good for those who want extra tang. The place is simple but boy, is it satisfying. You know it's someplace special when a birthday party is celebrated at the next table. Service was friendly and parking was fairly easy. We were able to park on the freeway overpass. Call the restaurant first to see if the short rib is available. 213-418-2800

Unpretentious good food

By Jonathan P |

The frontage is somewhat misleading - it looks bigger than it really is (limited space and only a handful of tables) and the restaurant name does not communicate its Filipino roots, but the place offers really good food. The menu is limited, but that just means they have managed to master whatever they offer their customers for many, many years. The ribs and tri-tips are tender and the fried chicken is crispy but one must try the coconut beef - tangy and spicy, and goes well with white rice to absorb the spicy goodness, Parking is somewhat of an issue but worth the walk. Service is friendly and accommodating.

Yummmy...

By Maricon E |

From the outside and the inside the restaurant is not that assuming. But we loved the food... The pork and the sawsawan is very delicious, the beef and coconut is abit spicy for my taste, but top it with rice is just perfect but the delicious part is the bibingka. We asked for two orders, thinking we will have one to go... but... we ended up finishing it. That's how good it is....

Worth the wait!

By E_moRtal_1 |

Long wait, almost 1 hour. But I'm more willing to bet they had a rush of customers after their video from Triple D went viral on social websites. The staff there were all over the place and multi-tasking like crazy. Aside from that, they were also friendly and never showed any sign of attitude from requests to service. That is a definitely a great thing when a lot of the customers seemed a bit upset with having to wait. The menu is simple and explained. No flood of all sorts of different dishes. We ordered the Ribs and Tips, Hot Links, Tri Tip, Coco Beef and Bibingka Cornbread. All were great right off the bat either with the sauces on the table or all by themselves. Ribs were tender and easy to get off the bone. Hot links were hot and sliced. Coco beef wasn't overwhelmed with coconut. Tri tip was tender and just melted in your mouth. Now...the bibingka cornbread...holy cow! Imagine a rush of twistedness! Bibingka is a dense dessert that tends to have a thick consistency...add that to the fluffy, somewhat, dryness of cornbread...you have just created the definition of fusion cuisine! Never before have I had any cornbread or bibingka like that! Now on a side note...I did notice that some of the take out trays were stored in a questionable location. But I mostly saw the staff grabbing new ones and making them from an area where they were more acceptable. Myself, my wife, my cousin and his wife were fully satisfied and left the place with a great vibe and fulfilled. So I definitely recommend this to any one. Just be sure to bring your own umbrella to shade yourself from the sun if you gotta wait outside...its hot!

Tremendous BBQ!

By TripTaker2209 |

Worth the stop! Pulled pork and corn bread are phenomenal! Beer selection is solid as well. If you are in the mood for some BBQ in LA this is your spot!

Delicious

By Pinoy123 |

Got there right before they opened, but let us in a little early. Ordered the chicken, ribs, beef in coconut milk, bibinkga cornbread. All were very good, but I really enjoyed the beef in coconut milk. Only thing is after eating so much it really feels heavy. The cornbread as everyone knows is awesome. Told the waiter we drove quite a ways to get there and he tossed in an extra bottle of their sauce. Good meal.

Pretty good, but not outstanding

By MacJoe |

Went to this place with a large party (10) during a business trip. First impression was this was definitely not your normal location for such a meet. From the outside it's uninviting, and inside it reminds more of a greasy spoon than a resturant. Seating is very limited, but we did get our tab,e for 10 with no issue. HOWEVER, the food was pretty good. The lady waiting our table was very nice and reasonably attentive. The menu was fairly limited, one side of a small page, with the various flavors they were unwieldy for. We got family style with a sampling of nearly everything on the menu. Most everything was very good, the shredded BarBQue being the most tender I think I may have ever had (and I'm from the South where we DO BarBQue ;-) To sum it up, everyone was pleased went, what more could you say.

BBQ w/ a Filipino Twist - Delicious & Wonderful Staff

By S_Leach |

We happened upon this place after a Dodger playoff game. We were staying at the hotel next door and popped in on way back. Outside looks like a bit of a hole in the wall, MAN was the food delicious — BBQ w/ a Filipino twist ! ;) 1st, our server Nicholas was patient & friendly. He helped guide us through items we asked about - we settled on a beautiful roasted type mixed veg w/ a chicken dish & side of rice. One of the cooks from kitchen brought out our order - not sure exactly what his role is, but he was friendly & told us about the sauces on table etc .. The place was packed, food was delicious, service was friendly, knowledgeable & genuinely caring. We’d go back in a minute -

What's in a name? In this case, a lie.

By kirstent t |

The cornbread (babingka) was AMAZING. One of their tshirts-awesome. But the price, service, and food (seriously the elote is made with watery, canned corn) was sub-par. Go to a chain BBQ place for much finer BBQ.

Wonderful food

This place is a gem. It sure doesn't look like much from the outside but the food is fantastic. I am so glad we stopped here. We shared a number of dishes, ribs, coconut beef and pulled pork. They were all delicious. Definitely worth a visit.

tried bec of triple d. We tried the coconut beef, taal chicken, ligaya veggie, Anna's cornbread. Beef good, different, creamy; chicken I am not sure what it taste; veggie good not over cook, a bit peppery; cornbread that's a winner - really really yum. Staff friendly, nice; zero ambiance; price expensive

A Must

If youre ever near downtown LA this is definitely a place to try. Saw a posting in Facebook regarding a triple D episode and after watching it I was drooling. I happen to be in Pasadena the next day and had time to spare so I went there for lunch. I got there just after they opened their doors. I told them I saw the show and I want everything on it. Tri tip, corn bread, beef in coconut. I didn't know it was possible to keep drooling while already eating the food. It's not the best location and parking is on the street and in my case over the freeway but once you try e food there you will have no regrets. Wednesday special is awesome. Try everything in one plate. Tri tip tri tip tri tip soooooooo goooood.

Family favorite destination for delicious food!

By Frances P |

We first dined at The Park's Finest BBQ after it was featured on the TV show "Diners, Drive-ins & Dives" in 2013. It is now a family favorite destination for delicious food. We recently drove the five (5) hours from our home on the Central Coast of California to Los Angeles and stopped there for lunch. Since our last visit, The Park's boast a large new lighted sign in the front which made it easier to spot from the street. We ordered the Vegetable Medley (perfectly cooked); Coconut Beef (nicely peppered); Pork Ribs & Rib Tips (tasty smoked flavor); Steamed White Rice (just right stickiness); and Bibingka Cornbread (savory sweetness) and every dish was delicious! Service was excellent as Jordan was friendly and a delight to visit with about the restaurant and the area "Filipinotown." Please note that this is not a traditional Filipino restaurant... it is Asian Fusion, so do not expect to find Lumpia, Pancit, or Adobo on the menu. Keeping the menu simple maintains the quality and consistent delicious taste of the food. The only negative... we wish The Park's Finest was closer to home.

good price, good experience

Customer service:5/5 Quality of food: 3/5 Price: $10-15 /per My boyfriend is Filipino and he heard they have pretty good Filipino food there so we went there for lunch. I think food is good especially cream corn!!! But he said it's too expensive for Filipino food.

NOT A FAN

We came to this restaurant to try and see what the hype was all about. It's been on TV and reviews have been good. Unfortunately, it fell short of expectations. We ordered several dishes and the only thing I can say is the meat dishes are tender but not as flavorful as what is written in reviews. I did enjoy their cornbread bibingka. Should I go back? I'll probably just stay home and enjoy my mom's home cooked meal.

Fantastic Filipino BBQ

My friend raved about this Echo Park BBQ spot. He's been going there for years, pre Food Network fame, and it definitely exceeded my expectations. I've never had Filipino BBQ before and this was so good that I seriously wanted to stop here on the way to the airport to get more goodness to take home. Wow. I seriously cannot stop thinking about the cornbread. I've never had anything like it---served in a banana leaf and made with cornmeal & rice flour it's something you don't want to miss. The Elote is a dish I might've passed up and I'm so glad my friend insisted we order it. Corn sliced off the cob topped with mayonnaise & Parmesan cheese. Holy moly- this was delicious. The Pork Ribs & Rib tips were my personal favorite meat item. They were seasoned perfectly and incredibly tender. The pulled pork was delicious as well. My friend had the Coconut Beef (I couldn't try---allergic to fish sauce) but he loves it and we also had the Tri Tip which was good. Definitely order rice to go with all of the meaty goodness. I brought home a bottle of their BBQ sauce & can't wait to use it. Reasonable prices, nice room & great service. I can't wait to go back on my next trip. Until then, I'll be dreaming of your corn bread!
