Delicious Mediterranean..felt like Indian and African influences with meatball dumplings and an assortment of tajines to try-we had chicken , short ribs , shrimp, wonderful yogurt sauces w hints of cilantro and mint, service was ok, coffee took too long and was cold ...beautiful outdoor seating but the construction noise -yikes- that killed the lovely vibe. May have to sit inside next time. Love this spot

I really enjoy my visit per usual. Though there was a minor mishap during my visit. Brett Anderson, the manager, did everything in his power to accommodate myself and my mother during our visit! His service was Phenomenal! I’ll definitely continue to visit Peacock! Thanks again Brett!!

The food here was excellent. All my friends say its the 2nd best Mediterranean and town. The other one takes months to get a reservation I'm told. We were staying in the hotel, so we couldn't say no. Highly recommend it. The staff was amazing.

The food is authentic middle eastern-Mediterranean, best since London. Service is friendly. The restaurant is generous in size and has comfortable outside seating. Prices fair for the quality. This place is worth a detour.

Went there for lunch with family on Sunday. Was quite impressed by the ambience and the deco. My sister-in-law told me that she could only make reservation for lunch even though she booked 2 weeks ahead. So I was quite excited, but got disappointed quite soon. It is supposed to be Mediterranean restaurant but it’s fusion rather than authentic Mediterranean. The only dish that wowed us was the grilled octopus, which was grilled so nicely still very juicy but over cooked and seasoning was quite right. However, other dishes were average. The lamb meatballs were just average meatball made of lamb. It was served in a Moroccan pot but nothing special really. The spinach pie with poached eggs tasted like the spinach pie that you can get from the mall with 2 poached eggs on top. Which was kinda weird in my view. My breakfast was just a standard breakfast. I asked the server if I can substitute the fries with some salad green and much to my surprise, no! Service was so bad! We asked for ketchup for my nephew and we had to ask 3 times, 2 different servers just to have ketchup! I also needed to ask multiple times and waited like 20 minutes for my coffee refilll. And the worst thing was the restaurant was just half full!! I definitely won’t come again for food. The ambiance is indeed quite nice, I may come to the bar for drink and hope that service at the bar will be quicker.

An excellent expanded menu, attentive staff, good seating inside and outside. Most importantly the quality of the food is tops. Try the Greek omelet,

I ate at the restaurant. Food, ambiance and service was excellent. Beautiful environment. The attached hotel looks very nice also.

Peacock served an excellent set menu for 8 friends. Each course was well prepared, fresh and delicious. Service was prompt, friendly and efficient. The evening was a great success.

My boyfriend and I ate here everyday of our stay! They offer breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, and dessert! The food is to-die-for, the drinks are amazing

Had an amazing dinner here this evening. The service was exceptional and top notch. I’m not sure what I liked more, the homemade naan bread or the shallot hummus. If you are in Austin, put this on your list of “must try”.

I only ate breakfast here and the menu was great, a real change from standard hotel breakfast menus, while still having pancakes to please the little one which were great.

Second time eating here, visiting the area. Our server today was Logan B, he and the staff were very attentive to our party of six. Both times meals were excellent! The grilled octopus is about the best we have had anywhere. Hummus choices, several varieties, are so good, (short rib hummus is our fav), pita bread warm, soft and pillowy. Kebobs, saffron rice, greek omelette for brunch could not have been better. Had dinner here in February, everything equally delicious and well prepared and presented. We stop every time we fly into Austin, either coming in or leaving town. Plus, convenient valet parking! Worth every penny!

We love checking out restaurants in our home town. Before COVID, we had a top 10 list that contained Austin’s finest. Now we’re back out searching for the new best. Peacock is the real deal. A beautiful dining room. Superb, knowledgeable, helpful service. And extraordinary food. We followed the custom of sharing. Every dish was outstanding. We had a fine hummus to start. Then we went to the crudo, watermelon and feta, and the wild cod. Delicious, all! Dessert choices were terrific. We wanted one, but the server insisted on another (with ice cream and some delicious chocolate). So, they brought both! Peacock is among Austin’s beat now. Get the reservation, and go!

Our first time at The Peacock and most certainly we will be back! The bar area is pretty lively and seems like a fun place to come with a group for a drink and some appetizers after work. We came for dinner and had an early reservation so we were seated right away. Be aware, the place does fill up pretty quickly. We started off with drinks; they have a pretty extensive wine and cocktail selection. I had an old fashioned and it was very good. For an appetizer we had the Crispy Shallot Hummus and Manti Dumplings. The hummus was epic! It was SO good, at the end of the evening, we ordered another Shallot Hummus to take home and it was still amazing the next day. Although the dumplings were okay, they only had one option of Spiced Beef; there were no other options for the dumplings which was a bit disappointing. For our main courses we had the Yogurt Marinated Chicken Thigh Kebabs and the Atlantic Salmon. The salmon was very delicious. The chicken kebabs were also very tasty, but far too salty. And after all of my years traveling throughout the Mediterranean and living in the Middle East for a time, I have never had chicken kebabs with thigh meat. I've only had chicken breast so although the thigh meat was tasty, but not as delicious chicken breast. And although they were marinated in a yogurt sauce, it was missing some flavor from lime, turmeric and paprika. For some sides, we had the Saffron Rice, Spiced French Fries and Asparagus with Parmesan and Hollandaise. All sides were amazing! The rice is fabulous but surprising the the kebabs didn't come on a bed of the saffron rice. The French Fries were hot and fresh but they were spicy at all. Although they weren't spicy, I do recommend them. Again, very hot and fresh! Lastly, the asparagus was SO fresh! I would have preferred the asparagus with either the parmesan or hollandaise but not both. I'm sure you can ask them to hold one. But the asparagus was so fresh and cooked to perfection! To round the evening out, we shared an Orange Blossom Crème Brûlée with Almonds. The Crème Brûlée is amazing and the almonds were a nice addition. But I would ask them to hold the orange blossom. The two tastes do not go well together. Overall, great atmosphere, very good food and excellent service. We will certainly be back again. Make sure you have Crispy Shallot Hummus!

I cannot express in words how terrible this establishment is. To preface, both my wife and I work in the service industry and have hospitality backgrounds. Service, terrible. Little to no knowledge of the menu, what’s available, or the ability to properly explain dishes. I had to prompt for a drink menu which was put across the table, twice. The first go round my drink was forgotten. Despite asking for a menu again I was never offered another drink, not did I see him long enough to ask for one. I was sold on an item that wasn’t available. The food that came out was bland and uninspiring. The “main course” was put in late. The rice came out cold after a 25 minute wait between starters and entree. To which I was told “it’s not supposed to be hot” I’ve never in my life had cold rice. Despite telling them multiple times to forget it they had it brought out again and again. The chicken that came out was more or less boiled chicken in some sort of bland broth. If you have ever been to a buffet with your grandparents after church, you’ve had better chicken. Their cabbage roll, which was sold to us as “amazing”...boiled cabbage leaves with some sort of vegetable filling...boiled? With tomato sauce slopped on top. The managers walked around looking lost and a avoiding eye contact. And despite knowing the service was terrible, not one manager came and spoke to us. They “took care of that rice”, dropped off a check and then avoided the table. Folks there is a Torchys Tacos literally diagonal from this place. Save yourself the time and dissapointment and go and get a couple tacos. The included picture is the chicken, which as you can see is boiled in plain broth with some jalepenos added for flair.

Celebrated birthday dinner last night at The Peacock. Lively ambiance, amazing food, first class service, we had Katzia (forgive me if misspelled her name) and she was spot on with all her recommendations with wine and food. Highly recommend it!!

With the Pandemic, we only eat at restaurants which offer outside seating. For the very best breakfast, the Peacock is it. Whether you order a Mezze, or scrambled eggs or aroissant, or a fruit cup, you are transported to a fine Parisian cafe. Service excellent, prices fair, quality tops.

Hip ambiance, yummy drinks . It feels a bit like a club walking in..exclusive. They took our temperature. We did drinks only and my husband thought it was pricey but I will be frequenting this spot. The hotel is wonderful and the rates are smoking right now-is it covid or hot? Not sure but yeeees . Service is over the top and cool factor high too. Great pool...great finishes. Love everything about it.

Great food good flavor relaxed place big portions and valet only would like to. Stay here sometime in the hotel see pictures attached

We stayed one night at the Austin Proper in December 2021 and had dinner and breakfast at The Peacock. We are big fans of Mediterranean food and cook it a lot, so we were looking forward to sampling the menus. For dinner, we ate outside on their lovely patio and had quite a feast: the grilled octopus appetizer, muhamarra, some veggie kebabs, the lamb kefta, a tagine (can’t remember what kind of protein), and a really nice bottle of red wine from Lebanon. Everything was fantastic, particularly the octopus, which can so often get overcooked or otherwise destroyed, and the lamb. We really stuffed ourselves so can’t comment on dessert because we had absolutely no room. :) For breakfast the next morning, we ate inside and had the spanakopita with poached eggs and harissa hollandaise and pancakes with blueberries and a sweet dukkah crumble, which were also really good. Service at both dinner and breakfast were terrific. We’d highly recommend The Peacock and would eat there again in a heartbeat!

We enjoy piscina , peacock and Goldie’s. Quill was new to us this visit . Sultry 2nd floor venue w a patio area..fun original drinks..on par w Goldie’s … we decided to get a bite at peacock ..enjoyed the mezze , kebab . We always enjoy the food there ..service wasn’t great this time..server wanted to send dishes one at a time and was just slow w drinks/refills/check etc .shared table which isn’t as fun honestly . We live near by but once uchiba opens on Google building across street .. we will be there a fair amount too. I love brunch or dinner on patio at peacock Weather permitting . Usually. Service is really good..just a bit off this time

We went with a party of six to celebrate my daughter’s 22nd birthday and were hoping for a special experience with great food and wine. Though the food was very good, with some dishes being excellent, the wine service was so bad that it cast a shadow over the whole experience. We ordered a bottle of champagne to start. It was warmer than it should be. We commented on that and the person that served the wine, not our normal server, expressed surprise, and said it would cool in the ice bucket. Not really the case since 6-people were each having a glass, so it didn't have any time to sit in ice and chill. Not ideal but a minor complaint if it ended there. After having hummus, red snapper crudité, and dumplings, which were excellent, we ordered the second course of different kebabs and meatballs, and ordered a bottle of the Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noir. After 5 minutes, the server shared with us that they were having trouble finding that wine but were still looking. Since the sommelier is off on maternity, they didn't know exactly where it was but they would find it. After another 5-10 minutes they said they couldn't find it and asked if I would like a different wine. Again, they apologized that the som. wasn't available to help me select a wine. I wasn't having any problems selecting a wind, they were having problems finding it in the cellar. By this time, our food had arrived. I ordered a bottle of the Miner Family Cab. Off the waiter went to get us the wine. Ten minutes later the waiter said they did not have the Miner Family either. Someone came out, it turned out to be the manager, and brought out a bottle of the Heitz Cab. and asked if I would like to substitute it instead. I agreed that would be acceptable. She didn’t open it though, she then took it back somewhere. Five minutes later, someone brings wine glasses to the table. Still no wine. After another 5 minute or so, we were now done with our meal. I called over the waiter and cancelled the bottle of wine. He was surprised and said, "Didn't my manager come over and take care of it?" That is when I learned she was the manager who brought out the bottle of Heitz. I said she did, but it has been 15-20 minutes since then and we are now done eating. He leaves and 5 minutes later the manager shows up with the open bottle of wine ready to pour. Still not sure why it wasn’t opened at the table like in every other restaurant that has a serious wine program. I told her not pour as we had cancelled it and she was taken aback and abruptly left. So, in summary, we tried to order a bottle of red wine from the wine list, they didn’t have it, they didn’t have the second wine we ordered to replace it, and it took them 20minutes to be ready to open the bottle they suggested to replace it. This is from a restaurant that has almost no wines on their list that are under $100 a bottle. From glancing at their list, it seems that they are marking wine up $50-$80 on the low end and far more on the more expensive wines. If you are going to charge that much for wine, it better be a seamless and stellar experience and you better have staff that knows something about the wine. This was not the case, and it tarnished the whole dinner experience.

Love The Peacock restaurant with their Mediterranean menu - hummus and pita all day please! We stayed at the Austin Proper and enjoyed as well their delicious breakfast menu - Shakshuka is my go to item.

The cucumber gimlet is on point. Eat oudoors at the peacock on the creek. Walk to everything! Stunning Hotel.

Party of four.. started with short rib hummus & eggplant/lamb dips with warm pita. Fresh spices- delectable. Salads, kabobs, sides ALL of it very delicious. The room was hip & happening & young. Not too expensive either. Give it a try.

Great place for drinks! We went to the Peacock for drinks. The bar and restaurant are just gorgeous - the bar was packed full of people so we asked to sit in the restaurant. We were helped by Becca (Rebecca) and she was just fabulous. She allowed me to taste a couple wines before I made my choice. The three of us had a great time enjoying a drink in a very beautiful atmosphere with great staff - highly recommend!!

Had dinner once and breakfast three times here. I would come back here for breakfast just to get the Golden Smoothie. I have never liked beets but this smoothie was so good! Had it every morning I was there. Avocado toast with egg was really good (though $3/egg seems a bit expensive. But maybe that's the going rate). Chia seed pudding with berries was also a favorite that I had everyday.

We had a wonderful time dining at this restaurant. Service, as always, was attentive and courteous. My husband was waiting for the day he could enjoy the English Peas with mint dip and a (or 2) Spanish G&T. Peacock didn’t disappoint. We also enjoyed the grilled corn and peas side dish and of course, my favorite Mujaddara! Always delicious :) We are glad they are open again. Love the decor of vases with their unique/quirky designs. The wall with mismatched tiles is my favorite—very Mediterranean and lovely to look at. Look forward to dining here again soon.

Food is good with a varied Mediterranean menu. Servers seem lost and need some more work on getting food out hot in a timely fashion. Waited 10 minutes before we got were asked what we were drinking at 6:30 pm and the place was not busy in a Thursday

We visited on Mothers Day and to our surprise they weren't that busy. Service was fast but the kitchen was quite slow. My wife had pancakes which she enjoyed and I had eggs scrambled and Merguez sausage. The eggs were served cold and quite runny and the sausage was also cold. This place is much too expensive to serve cold food, but they did and when I mentioned it too the waiter he simply shrugged his shoulders and said "sorry" before walking off.

Looking for the right balance of special and casual this is the right place. Within the Prosper Hotel the restaurant has a beautiful indoor and outdoor dining space. Service is attentive and menu filled with Mediterranean dishes prepared with fresh ingredients and loaded with flavor. In a sea of highly casual Austin favorites this one is special.

The Mediterranean food is very good and keeps to its roots, but the shared plates are the story. The short rib hummus is excellent, and all the dishes are made to be served family style. This makes for a very pleasing social excursion.

Brand new. We arrived early in the middle of the afternoon so ate from the bar menu. Kebabs were delicious, although rice was a little plain. Sauces and vegetables were amazing. My friend had a gin cocktail that was great and I had a delicious pinot grigio. Service was friendly. This space and food experience will explode in popularity once everyone learns about it.

Took the wife and kids for Father’s Day lunch yesterday and had a fantastic time!! The food was delicious and the restaurant was very nice. Sat outside on the patio. The host even got me a happy Father’s Day card! Big shout out to Timothy our server and Katy who managed to get us a table on that busy day! Great food, great drinks! Highly recommended.

Lovely service and delicious food! My Favorite was baklava, very close to the traditional Turkish style baklava with lots of nuts. Cannot wait to go back.
Good food tad slow though
A great way to close out our Texas vacation having a Mediterranean/ North African meal in Austin. Although on Sunday evening, it was still a popular spot and reservations are recommended. John was our server and was attentive and professional. The hummus and pita was excellent with the bread fresh and hot when. I had the harissa beef tenderloin which was good as well. Main courses were a little slow (40 mins) in coming but in the end it was alright. Food and service great overall.
