The Porch is a wonderful restaurant in Dallas near the Park Cities area. Dinner was delicious, I can highly recommend the enchilada Barbados and the crab cake. But don't leave with trying the sticky butter cake, in a word, divine!!!

We had the Burrata appetizer with roasted garlic and delicious bread. Excellent service. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend

I ate at The Porch a year ago and got the shaved prime rib sandwich. It was incredible! This time, I got the grilled cheese and tomato soup and it was tasty and filling. My friend got the cheeseburger and raved about it. If I can say one thing about this place it's that it is consistent in quality and quantity. And yes, I'll go again.

Great patio atmosphere and perfect farm-to-market margaritas. I had the Porch Grilled Cheese and it was great. The burgers being delivered to customers around me looked good as well. I will definitely try one in the future.

On our tour of Texas, we had barbecue, Tex-Mex, and settled on The Porch for a good ol' beef burger. It was delicious! The restaurant itself was clean and exciting. Our waiter took awhile to take our order, but it was made up for when our meal came out VERY quickly afterwards. I was shocked! I am a picky eater but I definitely enjoyed the food at the Porch!

We had a very tasty meal here. The service was great, from the valet parking on a rainy night to being quickly seated and rapidly served. Some different dishes that were terrific.

Great Atmosphere and Really Great Food. Needed someplace new to grab a nice (not fancy) dinner after a local college football game. Leveraged our Yelp community to find The Porch! Thank You !! From the outside you would never know it is such a cool place inside. Rustic but modern. Tables and booths spaced out nicely. Parking - Arriving at this location you quickly see there is little if any parking, so we called and discovered there is a valet parking service behind the building. The Valet service was fast and polite, and once you know its there very convenient. Hostess was prompt and seated us quickly. We didnt have reservations, but I would suggest making them, if you are able to plan ahead. Seated quickly and our waiter Eli visited promptly. The have a good selection of craft and other beer, while having a very nice stocked bar. We skipped appetizers solely due to being tired. But many looked good. For dinner, two of us tried the Stroganoff with a side of cornbread.Very good and both worth ordering. For me, I asked Eli for a suggestion and of course he suggested "Eli Special". Big surprise it wasn't on the menu. It was a grilled cheese with avocado and short rib meat. Also suggested a side of mac & cheese. You probably think ..hmmm.. sounds different and not something you would order at a sit-down restaurant, but it was amazing! Yeah Yeah - not very healthy, I know. I don't typically order sandwiches, but now, I look forward to going back and having another. Eli was quiet at first (covering our entire section), but then was super friendly and helpful the entire night. That was one of the best sandwiches I have had in a while. Thanks Eli. Overall The Porch is now one of our favorites in the area. It was very clean, great atmosphere and great staff. I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area - or want to drive down for a fun night in the area. - Thanks Eli for great suggestions and help all night.

I met a couple of my co-workers here for lunch. The Porch has a nice menu, and the food was quite good. I do recommend the Gooey Butter Cake, but be ready for the crash that follows a few hours later. I did find it to be a bit spendy relative to our choices, and the fact that we did not have any adult beverages. I would probably go back with a client, but it wouldn't be my first choice for a casual outing.

We had a great early lunch on Sunday. I loved that they offered so many delicious Non Breakfast options. So many places only offer eggs, pork & starches for Sunday Brunch. I had a great Grain/ Salad bowl with Salmon. My daughter had the veggie burger and fries. Very happy!

The service was good and our waiter was refreshingly honest about what not to order (he warned us that the recent batches of cornbread were super dry and that he had several tables return it). This place came highly recommended, but it really is just average bar fare. I didn’t find anything particularly offensive, but it wasn’t particularly memorable, either. From the queso to the mac n cheese to the salad and several entrees in between, everything was just ok.

We had four of us in our party with a variety of entrees from brisket enchiladas, roast beef sandwiches, onion rings, cheeseburger to Mac & cheese. Very good! Drink service and background music was great too. Great spot.

The short rib with papardelle was to die for! My 33-year-old son and my husband enjoyed their meals as well. Very casual.

We enjoyed a sumptuous lunch including Stodg burger, salmon burger, fried chicken Cobb salad, and veggie grain bowl. Portions were large, service was fast, and food was well prepared.

I liked it here. I think the bar scene is fun and the food won't let you down at all. The portions are very generous, and didnt find them overpriced....you are in Dallas....and overall the menu has a wide selection of basics to choose from, with usually something fresh and new. Never had bad service here, even when its busy...which it can get. Valet around back

I've been coming here for a few years and I used to bust my gut with the Stodge Burger. It's incredibly tasty but you'll need a nap afterwards if you try to tackle it alone. So... This time I went with an Old Fashion as my appetizer 😉 and the chicken fried steak. It sits on a bed of mashed potatoes and a side of green beans. I'm southern through and through, and this meal would make my mama proud! Delicious! (Apologies for the photo of the CFS... It was that good.)

Gooey butter cake?!!! Omg. Chicken fried steak?!!! Yes. Grilled cheese and soup?? Bomb. Signature cocktails?! Perfect. Do not pass this place by! Plus complementary valet!!

Very good lunch on a Thursday. Parking is a bit of a hassle. Friendly, efficient service. We had a burger and a salad. Need to go back and try more of the inventive menu items. Huge bar. Outdoor seating was full on this nice fall day.

the food and service are very good. the menu is diverse and the daily specials are always a must. the chili is really good. parking in the rear so traffic isn't an issue.

Extremely convenient location in the Knox/Henderson area. After dinner there's plenty of places to go and have a drink. Be advised that this place closes 11pm on a Saturday, so it is not a place for late drinks. We went on a busy Saturday, and although the place was packed, they seated the 7 of us fairly quick. The menu at first glance is not very sophisticated, but everything we ordered was really good. I had the NY strip with an awesome peppercorn sauce. At $24 it was not cheap, but the quality was top notch. Even the fries were better than most places. My friends had sandwiches and the beef stroganoff, and they all said the food was fantastic. The portions were fairly good. The beer selection is ok, at a fair price.

The first time I went to The Porch my table almost ordered one of everything. It is easy to eat a lot of food here. My favorite part is the cornbread. Make sure you leave room for dessert as well. In our group of 6, everyone left full and happy! The one thing that I would not try are the enchiladas. They were the only part we didn't rave about.

my wife and I eat here on Sundays and really enjoy the relaxed feel and love to sit on the Porch and people watch. They have a menu of regulars but there are always specials that keep the choices interesting. we especially like the Cobb salad with fried chicken.

Very solid food and pretty chill casual place but certainly not distinctive. I've now been 4 times and I'll go again because it's just a solid place in a good neighborhood

Excellent service from Richard our Waiter. He was definitely someone who is interested in his job. From the beginning, he treated us like we were import ant people. He wanted us to be satisfied with our choices. He continued to follow up regularly to ensure from start to finish that everything was to our pleasure. He had excellent knowledge of everything. He always checked back to ensure that everything was to our liking and actually cared. We were not rushed, allowing us to savor our meal. Since I have been in Dallas, I had three dinners that were poorly prepared and missing part if the meal. The waiters knew I was waiting to the point that it became cold and inedible. I had on door dash delivery that I requested a handoff snd call. The person went snd placed my food in a closet in the middle of nowhere. By the time I could find someone to help me solve the mystery, the seafood was cold and inedible. Not only was it in a closet, but in a different building. I had one cafe meal with 2 day old quinoa garnished in oils that turned bad. The staff thought I should have been satisfied when I told them that I frequently eat quinoa and that this quinoa was bad. Last night, we had dinner with friends at one of the most expensive restaurants in Dallas that had a ..European chef. My meal was prepared exactly like the way that my mother prepared it and cost $100 with veggies and a drink. The meal at Porch was outstanding and well worth it for an entire meal fir two with drinks and dessert and coffee for two for $100. They also had a number if choices on the dessert menu, nit two. For a great meal and excellent service, have dinner at The Porch.

If you're in dallas you have to stop here! It's my favorite spot. Fantastic food with wonderful service! Love their rotating specials but the real gem is the smoked ham Mac n cheese (which I always get as an appetizer) and the short rib stroganoff for dinner. Have to end with the butter cake of course!!

Had a light dinner of a spaghetti squash "pasta" and brussel sprouts. Brussels sprouts were generous and really tasty with a bacon-wine/vinegar sour flavor. Squash was very good. Great area to visit.

Excellent!! First time visit while all others in our group, including my wife, had been here before and raved about it. Start out with the valet parking - quick and easy. They take your phone number and send you a text. Just respond to the text and they get your car. Just that easy. We were early along with a few others and had time to enjoy their bar. Great selection and service. Our reservation was ready exactly on time. They have a Big Board (a large chalk type board) that prominently displays their draft beers, dinner specials and dessert specials. Our group predominantly ordered their favorites from the menu. Everyone had something different with these huge onion rings being a common side selection. I went with an Atlantic Char from the big board and it was excellent. I was very impressed by the entire staff. They were a true team and it showed. The reception folks stopped by a couple of times to let us know the status of our reservation. In the bar area our server took good care of us and did a great job of handing us off when we were seated. During our meal, for a large group, our service was excellent. As the newest patron in the group I see why folks love this place. We will definitely return.

I know that I am an extremely picky eater, and so I read the menu for anything that might come as a surprise. I ordered the club sandwich, asked for it to have no mayo, no tomato. Sandwich came all wet and as if it was removed or scrapped off prior to serving, as well, the bacon was a peppered bacon.. and honestly.. NO mention of that on the menu. I was very disappointed, in that I wanted a simple club sandwich. it was grilled, not toasted, and the meat inside was "wet"... very odd. I like the restaurant because of the company I was with, but did not enjoy the meal.

Fantastic menu with many choices. The spinach and parmesan dip is a great appetizer. The brisket enchiladas are as tasty as they sound. The burgers are filling. Everything was incredible then we had dessert - don't miss the butter cake! You must dine here when in Dallas!

The Porch is a very lively and loud restaurant that seemed to be enjoyed mostly by the young 20-something crowd. The drink list and wine list was quite nice. The menu is a little limited in some choices but the food seemed to be tasty and well-portioned. The salads were nice and fresh, but nothing out of the ordinary. The sandwiches were quite large with nice ingredients and were well priced. The stroganoff was very tasty. The gooey butter cake was good, but not as good as homemade. Service was okay. This place was nothing special, but nothing too terrible either.

Scottish Salmon Burger, yummy. Try the specials, try everything it is awesome and the margaritas are good too!

We came here for our first post-vaccination date night. Staff was all masked and taking things seriously. We ordered drinks - a froze for me and the walnut old fashioned for my husband. I loved mine and he said his was okay - he thinks he was expecting to like the walnut aspect more than he did but still a solid drink. We ordered the pimiento cheese appetizer - served with charred French bread pieces, honey ham, and arugula. It was both simple & flavorful- a perfect comfort food dish. For dinner my husband had the steak frites and I had the buttermilk chicken cobb salad - both were wonderful. I’d definitely describe this place as upscale comfort food. We had great service and a great meal.

I have been here several times over the years and it never disappoints. I had the fish special which was quite good. I typically order a special although the beef stroganoff was always my son's favorite. The one thing that I order every time without fail and is a must is the gooey butter cake with butterscotch ice cream and sea salted caramel.

Fantastic service. Fantastic food. Crabcakes salad was awesome. Nice atmosphere. Eating outside was great. You got to try that yellow cake dessert!

Ate here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Cute shopping and restaurant district on Henderson Ave. Great light, refreshing cocktails. Perfect for a hot Dallas afternoon. Heather at the bar was super friendly and attentive and made wonderful cocktails. Would definitely recommend. In fact, loved so much, may go back for dinner tonight!

Sunday brunch. A 30-minute wait for food. A filthy knife provided by the server. Two entrees delivered but the other two delivered 10 minutes later. One brunch dish had been left sitting out so long before the server delivered it that it was soggy when served. My chicken fried steak was way overcooked and at $22 (with two sides) no competition for all the other chicken fried steaks available in the area at lower price points. Only a salad with salmon got good reviews.

Nice patio, even when it is hot. Good selection of entrees, beer and wines and the service was excellent. They even have some vegan fare. It was very relaxing!

We went for lunch and they had a very nice selection on the menu I had the Shrimp Greek Salad it was excellent My friends had the steak and also commented how good it was. Service was a little slow but it was a busy lunch hour

Great restaurant with great service. Had the panseared Wolffish, onion rings, brusselsprouts and brisket sliders at the table and all were fabulous. Great local place.

We were in Dallas for a wedding staying near SMU riding around with Trip Advisor on to find a restaurant and happened upon The Porch. It was our lucky day! The varied menu satisfied every taste and the quality of the food was fabulous. We had beets with fried goat cheese and walnuts to start followed by enchiladas with brisket and barbacoa, broiled salmon on a bed of collard greens and pecan rice and the short ribs stroganoff. Everything was delicious.. They were willing to take special orders without question. The stroganoff was to die for!! The flavor of the butter, sour cream amd crimini mushrooms was orgasmic! No room for dessert but sure they must have been terrific as well. Service was wonderful. Wish we lived in Dallas just to be able to go back.

Variety of different options for breakfast and all day options. Bloody Mary’s were delish. We had the breakfast tacos, kale czar salad, and club sandwich!

My friend and I had a late lunch at The Porch, and sat at the high table tops near the bar. The service was amazing, and let me tell you, the food is to die for. It's like heaven exploded in your mouth with so many Amazing flavors! If you are on the fence about dessert, climb back off and order the Gooey Butter Cake! You'll melt in your chair with how delicious it is. If you get Brit for a server, you're in great hands for your time at The Porch!

We went here with a large group for friends’ birthdays. This was our first time to eat here. I had the salmon burger and it was awesome! So flavorful! My husband had the prime rib steak sandwich which he said was fantastic. I’d definitely go back here!

My daughter and son in law took me to the porch for Fathers day. It was excellent all around. My wife and I arrived early. We went to the Bar and had a Bellini and watched the World cup soccer match on one of the four large screen TV's. When my daughter and son-in-law arrived we went immediately to the table where we tasted so much. I had the Croque Madam with homemade potato chips, my wife had the classic burger with rings, my daughter had the pancakes, my son in law had the Halibut and chips, we all tasted the classic mac and cheese, honey butter cornbread, and the BGE biscuits with sausage gravy and eggs. At the end we each tasted the brownie with ice-cream and walnuts. Everything was delightful, the portions were generous, the service was excellent, and the price was extremely fair. I recommend this place highly. In addition they provide free Valet parking. We tipped of course but I noticed many did not and there were no expectations from the parking staff.

This is one of our go-to restaurants each time we visit Dallas. Comfortable and welcoming - we sat on the porch itself last night. Great cocktails, food, service. The specials on the Big Board are always worth checking out. Sad they didn't have the grass-fed ribeye this visit. But always great locally sourced meats. Save room to share a gooey butter cake-stupid good!

My coworker and I came to The Porch for lunch to try something different. Lunch was good. I had the cuban sandwich with onion rings and it was very tasty. I really liked the pickles that came on the sandwich. My coworker had the sliders with a side of mashed potatoes. We both enjoyed our meals but it is a bit pricey for lunch. I'd go back but probably for dinner or evening happy hour.

It's one of my favorites in Dallas. My favorite entrees are the shrimp and grits and the chicken fried steak. Mashed potatoes are wonderfully tasty. They also have amazing brussels sprouts (because bacon!) and I order them every time I go. Check it out!

The short ribs were amazing. Excellent food with being pretentious or stuffy. The patio was nice, good people watching. Will return.

Nice place to come eat lunch if you're in central dallas. The server was very attentive - a bit too attentive. I say that because I felt a bit rushed to finish my lunch. I don't like it when a server is already removing my plate as they're asking if I'm done. Other than that, I liked the place and will return if the chance presents itself.

First time visit to this restaurant and it was great!! I ordered the Classic Cheeseburger with wagyu beef. The flavor was terrific. Everything was great the fries were seasoned well and service was very good. I look forward to going back.

We had dinner here with some friends on a Friday night. Our entire party hadn't arrived yet when we got there. We were able to get a table by the bar while we waited for them. We ordered the Spinach Parmesan Dip as our appetizer. It was okay but I think it could have been a little more flavorful. I had the Strawberry Crush Cocktail and a Blood Orange Margarita, both drinks were good. For dinner I had the Grilled cheese and tomato soup. The soup was very good. The location of the restaurant is great, especially if you are going to bars after. Overall everything here was good but nothing stood at out great.

I came here for dinner while in town. My waiter, Thomas, helped me narrow down my choices to the jalapeño cornbread as a starter and short rib stroganoff as my entree. Both did not disappoint. The spiciness of the bread mixed with the sweetness of the honey butter was a great combination. The meat in the stroganoff was so tender and gave an unexpected flavor to a traditional meal. Guiltily, I practically ate the whole entree. I finished up my meal with their famous butter cake ala mode. The flavor of the cake, blended with the salted caramel and ice cream was heavenly . Thomas was not only helpful with the menu, but his service was attentive, but not overly so. He, along with other staff ensured my tea was full and that the food was good. Their hospitality was kind and allowed me the space to read my book.

A business associate and I stopped in for a late lunch and had one of the best burgers I've ever eaten. It was prepared exactly as I'd asked and came loaded with lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, ketchup, and pickles. All the toppings were fresh. The pickles were very different from the norm because they were thick cut sweet pickle slices. They looked like they could have been home-grown. The buns were very tasty, too. Great fries on the side. I tried, but I could not eat it all. Good food well-prepared, and the service was excellent, too.

We were headed to another place to eat for dinner but decided to stop here for a first drink and an appetizer or two. We arrived on a Thursday around 7:00. The traffic was hell and available parking looked worse, but thank goodness there was a valet lot behind the restaurant. This place is beautiful inside. Warm, dark tones of wood and soft lighting. A nice large bar with bar seating. We ordered drinks and a couple of appetizers. The Parmesan Spinach dip was good as were the Brisket Sliders. There were four in our party and the server knew to offer a fourth slider to the usual serving of three. I would definitely come back to try dinner next time I'm in the neighborhood.

Ask your server for recommendations or go with the daily board. We ordered the buttermilk fried chicken salad that had large pieces of individually fried meat, meaty bacon pieces and fresh avocado. No skimping on the toppings. Cesar salad was standard little heavy on dressing. We split the cheese burger and the special sandwich of the day which was a brisket pastrami melt. Both were delish. I would go back for the special sandwich. Fries were tasty and flavorful. Side of Mac and cheese was cheesy goodness. We split our meal among 4 people and had more than enough. Glad we saved room for dessert. The gooey butter cake was over the top sweetness and definitely one you need to share. Our server was attentive and super kind. Made great suggestions and took care of us while giving us space.

The Porch has one, but most choose inside for their dining experience! A popular spot on Henderson Avenue, the menu is varied with something for almost everyone. I choose a bar seat, and decided on the Salmon Burger, based on my bartender's recommendation. Wasn't disappointed, as it was a large burger, with arugula, avocado, pickles, dill aioli, tomato-caper relish on a whole wheat bun. Healthy, filling, and tasty, and definitely a nice alternative to their great beef burgers. Glenn Almack

Great food, drinks & service! Spinach dip is delicious! The club sandwich is one of my favorite sandwiches in town, however the warm lettuce and tomato is unappetizing.

My mom and I stopped on for lunch on shopping day by Knox Henderson last fall. It was extremely crowded with mostly business people and we couldn't get a table but the hostess suggested we eat at the bar, so we did. The bartender was super attentive and informative. He went over the menu, popular drinks at the bar and reviewed the wine and beer selection. We ordered the Margarita and Apricot Beer with the 2 orders of barbecue sliders. The food was excellent! Will definitely return! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was parking was an issue that day.

I was finally able to check out this place and I will definitely return! I had out of town guests and we were out riding around town on a beautiful Spring day and happened to end up in this neighborhood - usually the traffic on Henderson is enough to keep me away from this trendy area. Enjoyed the ambiance and the service was very attentive and friendly!

A group went here for a Sunday mid morning meal we sat outside which was quite nice. The food choices are plentiful. There were not many true breakfast type entrees. There were more sandwiches and meals. The quality is good. The service was friendly. They offer valet parking in the rear of the building.

My family dined at The Porch on Saturday evening, March 4, 2017. It was the most miserable dining experience I have encountered in many, many years. We were seated in the enclosed patio next to a large party of approximately 14 to 16 people. They were drinking and became very loud and obnoxious. I explained the situation to the manager who did nothing to calm the unruly crowd. In addition to dealing with a very loud and obnoxious group, the food was mediocre at best.

The place was packed for lunch. We got the only two seats left at the bar. The food was ok, but the bartender acted like she wanted to be someplace else. We soon wished we were, too.

We visited for lunch today and luckily the weather is beautiful for late October so we sat on the patio. Service was great and our food very tasty. My beef on a bun was delicious, my husband's burger very good and my daughter's salmon burger very tasty. Great food and reasonable prices.

Cute area and delicious food. We were in town for Family Weekend at SMU and wanted to get away from campus. Quick Uber ride over to Henderson led to a fantastic meal. The burgers were yummy…but the spinach dip and pretzel appetizers were even better. We will return!

I love the Porch. I have only been there for dinner a couple of times, but both times had spot on service and consistent quality. I’ve tried the short rib stroganoff and chicken fried steak; both were delicious. Drinks are great. The only downside is parking, but that’s Henderson Ave.

We visited The Porch on a Monday afternoon and will definitely return. Our family ordered the Pimento Cheese Board, which was full of flavor and texture. The cheese alone was amazing - paired with the toasted baguette slices it was nothing less than perfect blend of flavors, creaminess and crunchiness. We also ordered the Mac-n-Cheese. The creamiest we've ever had. The smoked ham adds such flavor, but the kick is in the jalapeno tabasco sauce. Wonderful! Burgers, Pork Sliders, Salads - we were raving about each dish. Great ambience - quiet, cool and a nice darkened interior to shelter from the TX sun. Our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We will return again and again and again and.....

Visited The Porch on a Saturday evening and had a wonderful experience. Started with appetizers of smoked pimento cheese and frito misto. The latter included fried green tomatoes and several shrimp. Simply delicious. Mains included mahi mahi, salmon, and a special lamb shank. All were tasty. Our server was attentive and professional. The wine selections were adequate and reasonably priced. We will return.

My wife and I stopped here after a local charity event. On a cold and gloomy evening the grilled cheese and tomato soup was the perfect option! Super cheesy and warm it really hit the spot. The Stodg burger with dry aged beef was the most flavorful tasty burger I’ve had in a while. (And I love and eat a lot of burgers) Highly recommend The Porch. This was my first time but not the last time.

One of the many great places to eat in Highland Park. Pub was packed with patrons. I had the Classic Cheeseburger with Bacon.

Sunday night. Our party of four ordered two salads, two sandwiches, and water. $69 before tip. The salads were average at best. My club sandwich was the greasiest sandwich I've had in years and fairly small. Dripping in fact. Management should mention in the menu that the sourdough is thoroughly buttered. Service was attentive. Parking by valet only. There are too many better places in Dallas to every return to The Porch.

We went for supper all of a sudden and were pleasantly taken in by the wonderful warmth and charm of this place.first ,the location is best in Dallas and their hot chillys are the best.Too good, too tasty in a very casual yet classy joint that stimulated our gastronomic systems for a long long time.

This place was highly recommended by a Dallas cousin so I made a point of checking it out when I visited. Everything she said about good food and service was true, and then some. I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken cob salad and gasped when it appeared. It was as if I'd ordered fried chicken with a salad underneath. The other ingredients came together beautifully, especially the avocado and bacon, but there was still more pleasure when the gooey butter cake arrived. It literally melts in your mouth! I also had a taste of my cousin's crispy Brussel sprouts starter and her bread pudding. All delicious. I can't wait for another trip to Dallas!

This is one of my cousins favorite restaurants, so she brought me here. The French Dip was wonderful. The onions were carmelized to perfection and the melted cheese was divine.

Worst dinning experience I've had in years. Let me mention I dine out at least 2 nights a week so trust me when I tell you this. I've been coming here for quite some time so my sister decides that she wants to do her Birthday Dinner here. Let me start by saying all of the food was GREAT we had SHORT RIB STROGANOFF, CHICKEN FRIED STEAK, and SCOTTISH SALMON. We order with our waitress, someone from the kitchen brings out the food so i ask her for some bread. The waitress comes out and say you asked our cook for something? I said, yes bread please. She leaves and come back with the refill of drinks that everyone asked for 15 minutes prior. so 35 minutes later I asked for some bread and she replies, You are literally begging for bread. So needless to say this is the most disrespectful experience I've had while dinning ever. WORST WAITRESS OF 2018. We dinned 12/16/2018 around 7PM

Searching the internet for a different restaurant while in Dallas and tried The Porch - GREAT! I had their signature burger, which was very good, but my wife had the grilled cheese with the tomato soup - SUPERB! I wish I had ordered it as well. Very good service and great food.

Went to The Porch with our daughter and son-in-law to celebrate his birthday. Good food with attentive service and diverse menu. Our waiter, Nick, was very good. Try the salmon burger. Great complex flavors and sure to please.

Take Lyft, the parking is a nightmare and the valet service is sketchy. Once you get there have a special or short rib stroganoff. It's all good. Then finish it off with butter cake, you won't regret your choice.

This is always one of our favorite places to eat. Service is excellent. The grilled cheese and tomato soup is my favorite on a cool day. Nice patio.

Love this place. It is a go-to location for me and my wife. Their short-rib stroganoff is amazing and I get it almost every time. Also the pimento app is a top pick. We have never had a bad meal and I have taken multiple friends and family here for different events. Great food and great company!

First, there is complimentary valet parking at the back! There is great outside and inside seating. The service is as great. My wife had the brisket enchiladas with rice and beans, and I had the chicken fried steak on the waiter's recommendation. The chicken fried steak was excellent, but the meat was a thin sliver. The taste was excellent, but I am used to big hunks of meat for my CFS. All the sides were great. The gin and tonic was excellent as well. They have a huge bar which stretches the length of the restaurant. We ended with a huge, delicious brownie topped with ice cream and almonds. I will definitely be back.

For an appetizer we had the Frrtto Misto which was an excellent dish. . But there were only 3 shrimp and hardly any calamari which were dime sized plus it had an over abundance of veggies….yellow peppers, zucchini and squash and long green beans. It wasn’t balanced. But it was good. I will post a picture of the appetizer. I had the salmon burger. I rate this poor for a burger. The patti had no flavor at all. The wheat bun was rubbery. Then the quac was squished all over squished out of my burger. The menu said avocado. I got squished guacamole. I ate only half of the patti with a fork. The rubbery bun had to go. It was not fresh bread at all. Lastly the fries that came with my Salmon burger were forgettable. Seemed cheap cut and a lot of ends. Could do better here.

Stopped in for a business lunch yesterday. The Porch is a great place to eat. Friendly service, nice atmosphere and good food. Valet Parking in the back (tips only). Really enjoyed the visit!!

The macaroni casserole, brussel sprouts, and gooey butter cake were AMAZING. The steak was excellent. The service and atmosphere was very nice. I was not a fan of the sliders, they tasted like odd sloppy joes.

Four family members went to The Porch for dinner on a Monday night. It was our first time. There was valet parking in the back. We had the chicken fried steak, paleo salad, tenderloin, and swordfish. The food was well prepared. We started out with the roasted hummus. It was wonderful and the pita bread served with it was hot and fresh. The chicken fried steak crust was light and tasty. The tenderloin was cooked medium rare to perfection. Very tender. The paleo salad was fresh and delicious. The swordfish was fresh, flaky and moist. We had key lime pie and the butter cake for dessert. They are both highly recommended. The key lime was as good as any I have had in the country and probably the best I've ever had. The butter cake was big enough for two or three people and is highly recommended. The service was very good.

I ve been there twice every time the food was good. Service was always good as well. I had the club sandwich all the portions are really Texas size I love that. You really get your money's worth here.

2nd visit. The sandwiches, burgers, and appetizers are great. We enjoyed the burger with egg and bacon and the French dip. Our server was fabulous and quick. My only advice is not to order the fried chicken cobb salad. I was expecting a crispy fried chicken but instead they were dried chicken nuggets that lacked flavor.

Meeting friends already there, but the hostess insisted I was at the wrong place, because no table was waiting for more people. Was she wrong! My chicken fried steak was awful, steak was pounded thinly without texture, flour coating was thicker than the steak, and very salty. Service was okay.

The Porch is one of those places that it won't matter the reason why you are going, it will just be good for that reason. Tons of American food options, you can sit outside or in, it has a great bar, and the French fries are amazing. I would also recommend the Tuna or grilled cheese. It's also not difficult to get a table and if you have to wait the wait isn't long.

Ordered the spinach dip and it was so so. Chips were greasy. We both had the chicken fried steak and it was bad. Served over a bed of mashed potato, it quickly became a mess when i started cutting. The breading was ok but the steak quality was subpar, at best. Too pricey. The place was full though. Only good thing is that it has plenty of parking. Will not be back.

We eat here almost every Sunday. Today we learned that they re-worked the menu and replaced the Creole chips with salt and vinegar chips. I loved the Creole chips and hate that they did this. We live in Richardson and drive past 3 or 4 other places to get to The Porch that we enjoy just as much. But none of them have those chips. And now neither does The Porch. So for now we will put The Porch in time out and eat elsewhere on Sundays. Very sad.

We just concluded a trip to Texas to visit the three presidential libraries. On our first night we were told that the Porch was one of the best places to dine in the area. The management made a good recommendation

The Porch has become a mainstay on Henderson. While many places have come and gone over the years...it has become a solid go to spot for drinks&food. The bar area is usually pretty lively all throughout the day&the dining room stays busy too! This is a great spot for a business lunch, happy hour drinks&even a date night. All around...you really can't miss with The Porch. I recommend the mac&cheese, as well as the burgers. The nightly specials that are written on the chalkboard always offer fresh fish and steaks-usually excellent fare.

I was in town visiting and wanted to grab a something nice with my son before we drove down to Austin, Tx. We were in the Knox-Hendeson area, and The Porch came up on Trip Advisor. What a great experience. This Gastropub was delightful. The food was outstanding and reasonably priced. We each ordered a beer and munched on the Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Black Pepper Bacon for our appetizer. The Salmon Burger w Avacado was fabulous. Can't wait to come back and check our more of the menu. Service was perfect. Fun relaxed vibe. Beautiful bar.

We came in for Sunday brunch - a party of six. We were seated immediately upon arrival and our server appeared shorty to take our beverage order after which we ordered our meals. I will admit that they were busy but perhaps they need to add more servers or train the ones they have to handle a full restaurant. It took a solid hour before our food arrived and trying to signal the server to refill coffee and water was an ordeal. The food was very good and portions were large. Seated inside next to the patio we had a lot of flies which was annoying and unappetizing. Although this is a popular restaurant I doubt we’ll return

This is a very busy and fun place to hang out and have very good food. It is not gourmet but clearly a step up from run of the mill. Best for breakfast or lunch.

Cannot tell you how the food was because we were seated the waiter can over then left and never came back. 20 minutes nothing. Place was not even a quarter full outside and no one was inside. We decided “Peace Out” and left. Unreal. Know wonder why my son in law hates this place

This is a kind of mixed review. My daughter had a premier at the Angelica Theater, so we decided to go to this restaurant. My daughter had eaten here previously and said the food was pretty good. She ordered a hamburger and fries and was very pleased. My wife was not very hungry, so she ordered the chilled beet salad, which was excellent. I ordered the country club sandwich, and was sorely disappointed. The bread was dripping with some kind of oil or butter. I couldn't eat it. I had to pull the bread off and eat the rest of it with a knife and fork. I brought it to the waiter's attention, and he did offer to bring some other bread, but by then I was so disappointed that I just finished my meal and left. No one offered to reduce my bill or give me a free dessert or any type of compensation. I might go back, but if you go, avoid the country club sandwich unless you don't mind dripping something all over your hands.

Stopped by here for lunch after going to the Bush library at SMU with friends. It was a nice environment. Our waitress was attentive and took good care of us. We had hummus as the appetizer, 3 salads, and a spicy, crispy sandwich. All was good. We were in/out in about an hour which was perfect for what we wanted.

This visit was about my 4th to The Porch. Each other time the experience was above average with way above average service. This one definitely was not and it warranted a review. My husband and I stopped in very early on a Saturday, about 5:00. The inside of the restaurant was almost empty but the outside patio was about half full. We sat on the patio. When we needed time to review cocktail options, it took awhile for her to come back to take our cocktail order. Our drinks were slow to come out too and my bourbon on the rocks seemed like it had sat awhile before I got it. We then ordered an appetizer and an entree to split. For our appetizer we ordered frito misto and for our entree we ordered the brisket enchilada. The frito misto arrived fairly quickly and was a generous portion. But it frankly was not very good. It was over fried and too heavily breaded. We waited a very long time for the enchilada and finally had to ask another waitress to find our waitress. When we asked where it was she gave an answer but it seemed as if she had completely forgotten about us and our order. We waited a while longer and it finally came. It was delicious but the wait was a problem. In the restaurant's defense, they did comp us each a drink for the wait. But as they were not busy, there really wasn't any excuse. It was bad enough I wouldn't go back.

This is a place the locals go to. Try the burrata - it's SOO good. The grilled cheese sandwich was huge and I couldn't finish it. Came with a bowl of very well seasoned tomato soup. We went there because my daughter-in-law was craving the salmon burger. Definitely a nice spot to hit for dinner.

Wife and I stopped here on the way to the McFarland Auditorium. Only parking that they have is Complimentary Valet. Very friendly staff that park your cars and they send you a text to respond to once your ready to leave. I got the Chicken fried steak which was delicious! Wife got the short rib stroganoff and that was even better! We started off with the Jalapeño Corn Bread, that was divine and slathered with butter! Only gripe is that the food could've been much warmer then it was. The service was Fantastic.. Fun place to come too, we've already picked out the things we would get next time! The strawberry angel food trifle was also very yummy.

Relaxed vibe, great home-cooked food, sports on TV (not intrusive), and a good patio. Been there many times for lunch and dinner and never disappointed. Family friendly. One of my favorite spots in Knox-Henderson.

Been here for many business lunches and is always a great option for classic American comfort food. Never had a bad meal here. Would recommend fish fish tacos, adult grilled cheese / tomato soup and their daily specials are always great. Arrive a bit early because this place is very popular.

We always visit The Porch when we visit Dallas. The steaks, country-fried steak, seafood are all fantastic. I highly recommend the pimento cheese appetizer. The gooey butter cake is a dessert to share, and is as one waitress described, "stupid good" and it is!

Great menu, friendly server, and a casual environment made for a nice relaxed Sunday lunch while visiting family in Dallas. We ordered the Chicken Avocado BLT, Classic Cheeseburger, Crab Cake Salad and Short Rib Stroganoff. The selections were nicely plated, made with fresh ingredients and scrumptious! The only negative is service was a little slow, and I would've been more comfortable sitting inside as it was pretty hot out, but others in our party are too cold in the AC. All in all, I'd definitely go back!

great bar great food,.... fun for dinner with friends dates or happy hours.... the food is solid and they have something for everyone. deeeeelicious.

I looked at the menu online before going - the menu they handed us did not have what I was planning to order- the waiter said “oh started 4 months ago and it’s never been on the menu” I ended up ordering the $17 hamburger and the 1/3 pound from Fuddruckers has more meat - the burger was served with a bunch of fries and one tiny cup of ketchup - burger had no condiments Two of the family members ordered the chicken fried steak- ok but one order had cold mashed potatoes- how?? Had to try and catch the waiter for drink refills- he would literally walk by head up not looking at anyone like intentionally not wanting to be asked - The other order was the pasta special no complaints- Bill around $100 - alcohol was paid for at the bar. High $$ for mediocre food and light service Update your website- keep current

Salmon burger and fries were delicious! My friend had a grilled cheese/tomato soup that also looked super good. Service was mediocre.

I have had dinner here a few times and lunch once, nothing but great experiences. Always a great special available and their staples on the menu are great.

Since moving to this part of town a couple of years ago this has become one of our regular restaurants. Almost everyone can find multiple choices on the diverse menu and almost all the food is quite good. They also have a very nice, diverse beer, wine and cocktails menu. We have never had any issues with service. We will keep coming back.

Our dining group was composed of folks with remarkably different palates, from ardent health food enthusiasts to chicken fried steak fans and every taste profile in-between. The creative menu made each of us cheer. Then the food was brought to the table and each plate was a true explosion of flavor. Yummy jalapeno corn bread. Perfectly prepared salmon. Crab cakes with virtually no filler. Zingy spinach. Chicken fried steak on steroids. Generous salads. Chubby sandwiches. The gooey cake was the perfect ending. We also enjoyed fun cocktails with delicious twists. Service was friendly and efficient. Valet parking is conveniently situated behind the restaurant. Can't wait to return on our next trip to Dallas!

Quail over spinach and yams...wow!! Salmon and grilled brussel sprouts...yes yes, absolutely delicious. But the chicken gumbo was definitely not delicious.

We enjoy eating here about twice a month on Sundays. We LOVE the creole chips, but was told today they took them off the menu and replaced with salt and vinegar chips. They brought us a sample, and while they were good, they are a completely different experience from the creole chips. When you go there for creole chips, salt and vinegar won’t do. My other favorite food is the grilled cheese with tomato soup. One of the best grilled cheese I’ve had. The service is great. The manager even came out and apologized about the chips.

First of all, don't miss the spinach dip and chips- it is the best! I've tried the burger, the brisket enchiladas and the spectacular mac and cheese! Great spot, great restaurant. Easiest parking option is the valet behind the restaurant.

You must try the Porch at least once and you will be hooked. Everything I've ever had is so good. Best cocktail is the strawberry crush. Perfext balance of alcohol and strawberries. The best spinach dip I've ever had. They serve it with warm tortilla chips and lemon zest. So good! Next, let me highly recommend the grass fed chicken fried sirloin with mashed potatoes and string beans. Out of this world!!!

Food wise everything we had was very good, but the drinks were extra delicious! Lot's of hand crafted specialty cocktails along with a wide array of beer & wine. I had the roast chicken with sausage & sweet potato hash along with a side of brussels sprouts. My husband had the enchiladas and we were very satisfied. Great service & atmosphere and within walking distance to other bars in Henderson-Knox.

This is a very nice upper mid range restaurant featuring an interesting menu with a southern flare . We went with the grilled duck with a butternut squash risotto and trout with a white bean side. Topped off with espresso and chocolate cake. Upscale atmosphere but not over the top prices. Valet parking

I love everything about this place! My favorite menu item is the crab cake salad - although it might be a little pricey, its always delicious! I would start off with the spinach and artichoke dip - it's amazing! You might have to wait a little bit to get a table but it's worth the wait. The ambiance is cool too - plenty of seats at the bar and great for just relaxing after work with a cocktail. I recommend to check this place out if you haven't already!

Good menu with daily specials. Hamburgers, mac'n cheese , sliders and much more. Nice atmosphere, dining inside and out. Located on Henderson, near Uptown. Valet parking in rear.

Enjoyed the patio. Great place to have lunch. Crab cake salad is fantastic👍 Staff is very attentive to your needs. In fact, they are ahead of you and anticipate your needs. Can't beat that for service.

Great spot for lunch and/or drinks. Food is great - fresh salads, varied menu. Patio seating available. Indoor seating can be a bit close, but the overall atmosphere is nice.

Came here for brunch and I was not disappointed! Had the grilled cheese with tomato soup and mac and cheese as an appetizer and this one was completely spectacular!! very crunchy on top, and very creamy and cheesy inside but not too heavy or rich, it was simply light and delicious, cooked to perfection!! I will coming back!

This is the place to eat if you want delicious soup, sandwich or Mac and cheese. I had the Chicken Verde soup and it was AMAZING! My daughter had the Mac and cheese with ham. It was smooth and creamy. In other words, just a bowl full of deliciousness. My daughter in law had the beef dip--which is the third picture. As you can see, the sandwich is HUGE. just imagine Donald Trump saying Huuuuuge and you'll understand just how big it was. The cost is very reasonable for the serving size. The only down side is valet parking--so have small bills ready for tipping. Deep Ellum beer on tap which is a good thing.

Good food and a wide variety of drinks, however they only offer two drinks for brunch. More of a lunch and dinner spot then a brunch spot in my opinion.

Fried Cauliflower isn't something you often find on a menu. But, I'm glad we gave it a try. Because it was absolutely delicious, though it wasn't battered as you might presume. The Short Rib Stroganoff was another hit at our table!!! In fact all of the downhome cooking at this place is quite good. We also had the Wood Grilled Texas Quail, the Porch Grilled Cheese with Roasted Tomato Soup, the Sweet Corn Bisque (one of the daily specials), and the Gooey Butter Cake for dessert. Even their cocktails have a southern twist. I'm not a big whiskey drinker; but, the Pecan Old Fashioned demands a second round! Best of all, the food comes with a hefty helping of charm from the staff. They are friendly and efficient with helpful recommendations if you inquire. But, they are not at all intrusive. And, they never let our glasses run dry! The outdoor covered seating was lovely on a cool evening.

The staff is friendly and efficient and the food it really excellent! Went on a Saturday night, which was extremely busy, but it was worth the wait. We had the spinach dip which was the best I've had ever. The cobb salad was fabulous too. My companion had salmon, but what he really thought was the best was the macaroni and cheese side. I use the term "side" but it was big enough for several people to eat. Great experience and great food!

Very good food. I had the pulled pork sliders with pickles. Excellent. Fresh lemonade was great too. The brownie sundae dessert is big enough to share and one of the best I've ever had, and I've had a lot. Reasonable pricing too.

Loved the menu, fresh, flavors burst and reasonable for Dallas. Location can be tough to park, valet is best behind building (free) if you eat there. Great patio and bar rocks.

The drinks and appetizers are the best. I could pass on the actual entrees. Highly recommend the burrata cheese appetizer! SOO delicious!

We were staying at the La Quinta and walked around the block looking for a place to eat. The first place we found was VERY noisy, so we left and went across the street to The Porch. What a treat! Great selection of beer! Food was wonderful! I had the special: Pan-seared Alaska halibut. Our waiter, Mitchell, was great. All-in-all, it was a special evening!

We were headed to a different restaurant for my last chicken fried steak before leaving the country for six weeks, but it was closed on Mondays. So we ended up here. Lucky us! The steak was juicy, the breading crunchy, the mashed potatoes divine, the Brussel sprouts filled with flavor and the cornbread was to die for. Had to take home the dessert of the day - berry cookie pie - because we were too full, but there was no way we were leaving the without it! Top it off with fast, friendly service and now I know where I'll be getting my next CFS when I get home!

I just barely sided with very good vs excellent. Tough call but if I lived in Dallas the ultimate accolade is I'd be here regularly. The food is excellent. I had a vegetarian sandwich that was melt in your mouth delicious and my wife had the grilled cheese(3 cheeses-gruyere, provolone, cheddar) sandwich. I believe the sandwich menu ran pretty much between $13-17. Obviously this is a limited experience as we did not do dessert or anything other than this and wine. However I don't believe something of this quality(unusually good tasting) happens by accident thus implying you'll see it with other items in the restaurant. I've always believed that if my pre dinner salad, bread, or other appetizer is making me take notice in a positive way it's a good sign that I'm in for more of that as the meal progresses and I can't recall a past incident that disappointed me in that regard. The reason for very good vs excellent is simply that the restaurant ambiance is not particularly much beyond a fairly simplistic communal open air gathering(there are booths). Certainly that doesn't mean it's bad. Just not particularly romantic or affecting. And then the service although adequate just seemed less than excellent. I don't need a friend while dining but it's nice to have a clearly pleasant personality servicing. For those inclined there is an outdoor eating area right by the sidewalk for people watching. And the restaurant appeared to have an eclectic mix of meal offerings beyond the tried and true which makes for an interesting review to see if you can find something unusual that appeals to you. That would be highly likely as the offerings are so broad. Be aware that parking is valet only on the lot in back(theoretically no charge ex tip).

Drove halfway across town to eat here because it was supposed to have outside area so we could bring the dog. Did not want to leave the dog at the hotel. Valet parking only. Found out when enquiring about bringing dog into "porch" that, as all the plastic flaps of the porch "windows" were closed, it was now considered enclosed and as such off limits to our dog. So never got to eat here. Would have been nice if the valet people who saw us get out of the car with a dog would have told us that. Would have saved another 10 minutes waiting around to get our car back too.

Simple fare but quite good. Your basics are done fairly well. I had the tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwich. Eat if the group had salads and they were all pretty happy with their choices. Service was very good as well. Good spot for quick eats with good bar scene.

We went to dinner here with some friends and had such a great night. It was a busy Friday night, but the wait was not long at all - maybe 10 minutes! We ordered drinks at the bar while we waited and got seated out on the patio. We all shared the hummus plate for starters which had great pita bread - and my husband and I both ordered burgers which were fantastic! We thoroughly enjoyed them. This place is for sure on our list next time we return to Dallas!

Stopped in for lunch today. We asked to be seated on the patio. It's not the best view in Dallas, but it works. I asked about gluten free selections, and they had an entire GF menu, so that's always a bonus. I ordered the Porch salad and added steak. It was great, not a huge portion, but the steak was cooked perfecly medium rare as ordered. My husband ordered a burger with an egg on it (sorry, I can't remember the name). It was really big, and also really good. It came with 3 huge onion rings that he said were delicious. We also ordered a side to share, it was the braised kale and fennel. It was very flavorful. I loved it. It was heavy on the salt, but I loved it. I wouldn't recommend it for people with salt intake restrictions, but I didn't think any of my food was overly salty. I'll go back again.

Great Atmosphere, excellent service, and great food. We were rapidly seated, food was served in a timely manner and the server was extremely attentive. We had Cheesburger with Bacon, the Avocado Toast with 1 Egg, Brussels Sprouts, and the Gooey Butter Cake. All outstanding.

Love the food. It's tasty, clean and delicious. I had the hanger steak.. Nicely done! The stroganoff with short ribs was outrageous! Loved the meal!

The gooey butter cake is reason enough to stop by The Porch! WOW!! The food here overall if great- but the brisket enchiladas and pimento spread appetizer are great choices!

The Porch offers a great southern vibe in the Knox/Henderson nook of Dallas. The outdoor section is absolutely perfect for this time of year! I had the Buttermilk Fried Chicken Cobb, hubby had the Shrimp & Grits! We also split an order of fries, which were tasty. The salad was delish, can’t say the same for the Shrimp & Grits (heavy on the cream, light on the substance). Our server, Tino, was fab! 4 stars for ambience, service, location & libations!

I went here for a business dinner. The location is downtown, so expect to look for a good parking space. The atmosphere was really loud, but the food was good and the waiters were attentive. I ultimately give it a 4 because of the location. I would hesitate to go there again just because of it being a pain to get into and out of there.

Came for a bday with some friend... atmosphere was good very chill and smooth... Food was good but alil overpriced for the the amount of food given.. I heard they have a good brunch might just have to check it out one day.. If ur looking for a cute place for a quick date and night out with all the fuss this is the place.

Wonderful service, excellent selections of locally-sourced beef and pork, creative sides with a touch of southern flair. The salmon and steak are always outstanding. Tonight I tried the tomahawk grilled pork chop - wow, exceptional! Gooey butter cake is, stupid good and the key lime pie is one of the best I have had!

We were in town to visit our grandson that was in the hospital for rehab from a major motorcycle accident. Stopped by chance, restaurant was perfect, the lighting, the sounds and you could feel the mood of the people. We sat at bar with some wine, bartender asked why we were here and was concerned, soon a manager showed us to a table and the wait staff appeared. They took care of my allergy issues by modifying my dish. Soon another manager appeared and we talked about my grandson. They were clearly tuned into our grief and were very gracious. We now have a favorite restaurant in Dallas and you should experience it also. Great food, great staff and the management knows what's happening. We felt like we were at home at one of our favorite places, these strangers truly circled us with love.

Saturday Night lively place, with good bartenders and some interesting dishes Popular local place to meet

The food was not worth what was charged. Not impressed at all with the food. Other places are much better on Henderson. Met friends there for brunch. The eggs were still partially raw, the bread was burnt. Just not a good experience. Will not go back.

This place was good. The food was really good! The drinks were on point. The Setting is good and really chill. The service could've been better. I would still go back tho.

Macaroni and Cheese for the win. The strawberry crush cocktail is refreshing and goes down smooth. The grilled cheese sandwich is haunting my dreams. I got the butterscotch ice cream with the chocolate brownie and it was SO GOOD!!!

This place is so good! I got the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich and it was the best chicken sandwich I've ever had...sorry Chick-fil-A. My mom and I shared the Gooey Butter Cake for dessert, and it certainly did not disappoint. That was an excellent meal!

Great local spot for lunch or dinner. The Sunday brunch crowd is good also. Patio is really nice too. Service is always good. We often pop in and never have a problem getting a table. We suggest you try it.

I think the restaurant and decor works. My service was above average. The food was TOTALLY underwhelming. My wife had a grilled cheese with tomato soup combo. The grilled cheese was served on a french toast kind of bread. Trying something new and different is all well and good, but it was more like Texas toast on steroids with a smidge of really bland cheese. The food was presented well. They care about the aesthetics and presentation. The food was bewilderingly bland. It also came out incredibly fast. Normally, this would be a great thing. In this case, it makes me suspicious as to how "made to order" it all is. I would probably return one more time just based on other reviews and what not. However, it only gets a 3 for the service and ambiance. The food was definitely subpar.

Really friendly and well-trained staff. When you walk in, the senses are awakened by the delicious aroma of good eats!! Known for fresh, farm to table cuisine. Light lunch today with the Crabcake Salad...mixed greens, avocado, tomatoes and a luscious crab cake. Add a glass of wine, and great conversation made a perfect day.

Lunch at The Porch was a fun and filling experience! They took the best of classics and brought them into 2016. I started with a Crab Cake Salad- The crab tasted sweet and the honey lime vinaigrette was perfection on the crisp mixed greens. My husband had a Grilled Cheese with Tomato Soup- WOW! Best grilled cheese he ever tasted! All the ingredients were fresh and you could feel the care they took in every dish. We ended up sharing the Chocolate & Pecan Bread Pudding- WOW again!!! It was a perfect balance of old and new school. Service was just as great as the food! Thank you for bringing such a fantastic restaurant to Dallas!!!

glad I tried out The Porch. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the enchiladas and they were amazing... Service was great. Place got super busy.. Overall a we had a blast.

There food is superb, lots to choose from. Have a beautiful indoor and outdoor patio area, with valet service. In the middle of Knox Henderson Street, so it is easy to walk to several fun places after dinner. It does often get busy on the weekends, so please plan accordingly. I've had to wait 30+ minutes or more a few times. A+

We visited the porch on a Wednesday evening for a work function...about 19 total. They easily accommodated us and the service was excellent. Food menu is "American" consisting of soup and salads, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, steak, etc. Wine selection is a little limited, but there is a decent selection of craft beers on tap in addition to pretty much anything you want for liquor. The Porch has both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a very nice bar if you prefer to belly on up. Street parking is very limited, so you may be relegated to valet -- which they have a pretty slick system. They take your name and cell number when you valet and they follow up by sending you a text. Then, when you're paying your check, you text them and your car is ready for you when you leave the restaurant. Overall, we had a very relaxing and fun time. Great ambiance. Will definitely return with my wife...

Terrific location for VIckery Park and M Streets. good selection of menu items. good bar area with TV's for Sports viewers. Always a good and plentiful portion for the entrees and appetizers. A definite win on the Knox-Henderson!

For something out of the ordinary, give The Porch a try for lunch. Friends and I stopped by for Saturday lunch. The atmosphere is casual with outdoor seating available. The menu includes several common dishes that will sure to satisfy every palate. Moderately priced you do get a lot for the price. Parking is at the back with valet service. I had the Stodg burger w/ egg and topped it off with an apple crisp a la mode. The guests I was with also enjoyed the salmon burger and shrimp cerviche. Definite go to and go back to establishment.

Got the chicken fried steak. It was good but it is not tenderized and about 5 oz of actual steak. Mashed potatoes are excellent.

I have been to the Porch several times and get something different each time and each time have loved what I ordered. Nothing has disappointed me. I do enjoy going on the off hours as it does get quite busy after work. Great food, good value. Will keep going back.

I've been to The Porch three times now, and it's definitely become my favorite Dallas spot for comfort food. The grilled cheese is off the chain, and equally so is the cauliflower (who knew cauliflower could be roasted into magical bliss)? The jalapeno cornbread makes me want to cry. So good.

The spinach dip was incredible. The salmon was delicious. And the Mac and cheese made the whole meal. I ate until I was uncomfortable, it was that good... Highly recommend.

We were just walking past this place, I said saw this on line, we took a chance, was very well worth the chance, food was sooo good. The service was great.

Went here before a concert at SMU. We arrived just in time, before it got busy on a Friday night. We were seated right away, the server was in top of it. I wish I had seen the giant chalkboard with beers and specials on it before I ordered, but that's most likely my fault because it is huge. Food was good. I enjoyed my cucumber rickey, but (obviously) don't get it if you don't like the taste is cucumber. The jalapeño cornbread wasn't as good as I was hoping but the sliders were excellent. The fried chicken looked amazing but I didn't try it.

First off the service is good at The Porch. Our glasses never ran dry nor did our sever stop smiling. That is the only positive note about our visit. Our onion rings were over battered and tasteless. The Tuna Tartare was so salty it was inedible. The only tasty thing was the ranch. What happened to his place? Food used to be great but their lack of attention to detail is showing. This unfortunately will be our last visit.
Brunch
Can’t beat this place for a top shelf experience and great value. Nothing on their delicious menu is priced more than $18 (most items are in the $10 range). The experience rivals comparable places in Dallas that charge double that. The pimento cheese board appetizer is a winner. They always have interesting specials on the board as well.
