Incredibly over-priced, bad quality and service level mediocre! We ordered a sandwich, which turned out $14. You expect a fresh and good sandwich for this price. Unfortunately, the contrary was the case. A very dry and sticky sandwich was served, packed a few days ago. Cheese was not fresh anymore and lettuce was dried out completely. The bread was dry and old. We mentioned this to the manager, but she only nodded and did not give any verbal reaction. She eyeballed when she walked away. Not Hilton quality worthy.

Ate breakfast here twice. The featured coffees - one with cardamom, one called a "Rose Latte" were great! The Market Scramble and the Steak Hash were fresh, tasty, different, filling - just perfect. Friendly service. Also has a few sundries, several meat/cheese choices like Prosciutto and Chorizo to buy and take with you, good wine and beer selection, plenty of Portland area snacks, ice cream, etc. Bright, open atmosphere. If I lived in Portland, I'd be here every morning!

This was near our hotel and after walking by a couple of times, we decided to try it. There's a more formal sit down restaurant next to it, but we were wanting something quick and cheaper for breakfast. There's a large community table as well as window seating. My husband and daughter both got the breakfast sandwich and both liked it. I had the Polenta bowl and was pleased; I might have rather had a little more egg and less polenta to make it slightly less heavy, but the flavor was good and the kale was yummy on top. There's all sorts of foods, snacks, gifts from OR in their shop which is cool. We got a big gluten free brownie that we shared and it was really quite tasty, I was craving one the next day. All in all, good option for quick bite and it wasn't crowded. One of the things that's tough in Portland is many of the good places don't take reservations and there's a long wait. Waiting around with an 11 year old for an hour is not happening with this family, so places we can get in relatively quickly or with a res is always appreciated.

For a coffee shop the coffee was really weak, weaker than say a gas station in the sticks. A cute place which offers some "dry" goods but more of a theme of the shop. I tried their croissant sandwich. The bacon tasted good and the croissant was not bad. I had them hold the cheese , not sure what it was, and the avocado. My egg came out fried even though I asked for it scrambled. I guess there was some miscommunication as I told him I wanted it scrambled (and was told that was an option the prior time I had been in) but he pointed out there was a scramble on the menu (not a sandwich). The fried egg seemed a bit odd, the sandwich was crunchy without it. A really cute place and seems popular so probably worth another visit, I like the restaurant in the same building, not sure they are run by the same people but they are both off the hotel lobby.

Attached to The Porter hotel. We ate here upon check in and also for breakfast the next two days. Everything we had was excellent especially the breakfast burrito. Good cafe and pastries and nice decor.

Stopped in for coffee one weekday morning… they weren’t very busy when I got there; only one person was in front of me. Still took 10 mins for me to get my Americano. By that time, there was a long line waiting. My drink was decent, but not worth the wait.

Decided to get out of the room and work and found this attached to the hotel. Had $15 for breakfast from the hotel and took the cashier's recommendation. The Polenta bowl(egg scrambled and not poached) was excellent and full of flavor. All of the bakery itema looked amazing and I will be back for breakfast on the go in the morning. Happy hour looks great and wine selection looks pretty good! They also seem to have a collection of local items to grab and go. Nice place to sit and work for the morning

You would think a place that does business right in the middle of downtown Portland would roast their own beans, or AT LEAST they would contract a somewhat decent coffee roaster. Apparently they source their coffee from some lowbrow company called "Cafe d'Arte," or at least that's what the cups say. Even Boyd's or Farmer Bros. is better than the coffee that's served at The Portland Exchange. If you're a Portlander like me, you're looking for a cup of full-bodied coffee with a complex array of tannins to get your day off to a good start, and this is definitely not the place for that. Coava is just up the street, so I'll be getting my daily coffee and breakfast there from now on.
Luxurious place for a cup of latte
Visited for a cup of coffee on a 100+ hot day. Nicely surprised about how much has been invested in the comfort and style. Fancy tilIng and wood, nice furniture, window sitting is the best. No sign of abuse by the customers. Highly recommended.
