Great Neighborhood Addition

By Wendy K |

This restaurant opened while we were living out of the country and has received rave reviews. We now live back in Seattle, gave it a try and loved it. Good quality food—lots of meat items, but veggies and non meat sides as well. Delicious, everything we ordered. Good beer and wine selection, along with cocktails. The place is very popular—we went at 6:00 p.m. on a Tuesday and it was almost full. No reservations, seating at the bar, some smaller tables but also shared seating at longer tables. Can’t wait to go back and have their Reuben which looks yummy!

Beef is the star here

Great place for a good meat-centric dinner. Indoor and outdoor options. Meat is the star here, with daily steak specs that are posted on a chalkboard. Great sides and salads, and yummy desserts too.

casual neighborhood joint with an alchemist in the kitchen

Loved the vibe in this place, but we were a bit skeptical when we looked at the menu, with a lot of experimental items (smoked grapefruit in the beet salad?) This place makes it work though. Definitely worth seeking out.

Run to this place!

Definitely start with the charcuterie! We had a medium size for 4 of us and it was the perfect starter. They have a very good mixed drink menu that pairs nicely. Huge beer variety and nice wine list. They are known for their beef and did not disappoint! Had roast for 4 and 3 sides and took food home. Wonderful dessert. Long, shared tables and seats at the bar. Casual, fun atmosphere. Great spot!

Superb food in a casual and friendly environment

Read about Shambkea online and we were wanting steaks. It is in a neighborhood and unassuming on the outside. It’s quaint on the inside. And the food was superb. The steak lived up to expectations. The sides (broccolini and potatoes) were perfections and the charcuterie board is a must have. Service was great. If you want a high end meal in a casual and calm place, Shambles is the place to go.

Rude

By Woodinvillian |

Very rude owner (tall guy) my niece was chastised for having the audacity to ask for a suggestion for a sweet drink. It was her 22nd birthday and the owner ruined her evening with his obnoxious behavior. She and her boyfriend left. Never tried the food. Aptly named restaurant.

Simply the best steak I've ever had

I have a friend who is a regular at the Shambles and had been bugging me to try it with him for months. I finally made time and I am so glad that I did! I was blown away at how good a steak could taste. The staff clearly know what they are doing! Had a wonderful meal here with appetizers, drinks, and dessert. Keep up the good work guys!

We waited, and we're rewarded!

We waited months for Shambles to open, so were anxious to try it out when it did. Many visits later, we are still delighted to have this great place in our neighborhood. The beer list is long and varied -- something for everone. And the food! Meat centric to be sure, but non-meat-eaters can be happy too. The flavor profiles for the cured meats are unexpected and interesting. And where else can you find really good steak tartare in this town? House-cured pickles add a wonderful touch. Cocktails are unique and a bit on the sweet side,, and the short wine list is more than adequate. This place gets crowded and noisy, but early diners can enjoy a quieter experience.

Meat Lovers' Delight!

The 'hood waited patiently for months for this restaurant to open. The wait was worth it! This is a pub that cares about everything -- the beverages, the food, the atmosphere, and the service. These people really think about what they serve and how they serve it. The flavor profiles of preserved vegetables and meats are thoughtful and do not rely on salt alone to bring out the flavors of the dishes -- unique! My favorite thing is the steak tartare. I have eaten this dish around the world, and Shambles does a darned good version with a brined egg yolk and a schmear of arugula puree is addition to the usual accompaniments of onions, pickles, and mustard. I do wish they had a little longer wine list in addition to their amazing assortment of beers and ales on taps, but this is a relatively minor issue. What they have is serviceable. Haven't ever tried desserts there -- never had room! But the cocktails are on the sweet side, so that might suffice. And the people! Delightful!

Kudos to Becky and the Shambles Team - WOW

By Marnie |

We had a staff glitch upon arrival and the owner, Becky, made tremendous effort to come outside and find us and make the situation right. We are SO glad we dined here. The meal, as always, was memorable and delicious. Four of us enjoyed the charcuterie board (fantastic!) and some lovely mains. Beverage choices were excellent and dessert somehow squeezed into full stomachs. The character board and pulled pork sandwich were highlights of all choices. No matter what we tried we were very happy. Thanks Becky, remarkable service recovery on your part.

We had read about Shambles and decided to check it out. It's very meat centrist, but it was delicious!. It's a bit pricey, but the quality is worth it. Had really good service as well. They have a great beer tap list also. They also have an area in the kitchen for dry aging and they sell there products. I both a 2-rib prime rib roast for XMAS dinner and it came out beautifully. Their side dishes are also great. It's a small place so be sure to get there by no later than 5 pm for dinner.
