Unreal Food - Amazing

By Bex C |

We were out in Brooklyn, shopping for the day. Went looking for the Biggie Mural and met some lovely ladies who helped us along the way. We told them we were heading to the Barclays Centre to watch the Brooklyn Nets vs Chicago Bulls. They suggested we come here. My family all LOVE spicy foods, so this was perfect them. We got in and were greeted by really friendly staff. They took our drinks order and we looked at the menu. We ordered. Everything was just brilliant from start to finish! So much flavour. Highly recommend!!

Great food, great service, long wait times

By TOSSICA M |

The food and the service were both really good. However, we had to wait about 40 minutes to be seated even though we had reservations. Jess, our server, made up for that disappointment.

Very Nice!

Overdue review. My friend and I came here for dinner to try some Jamaican food. She has been here and told me about it. She introduced me to jerk chicken wings for an appetizer. The spice was pretty good, with a twist of spicy taste inside. I ordered the famous Curry Goat. It was served with white rice and seasonal vegetables. She had Ackee & Saltfish with Bammy and Seasonal Vegetables. I tried Bammy for the first time. Wow! I wonder what that was, and it was a nice soft flavor. It's not potato but something else. Try it! My curry goat was delicious! A bit salty but tasty! The meat was so tender. We had a bartender serving us. I took home half of my entree for the next day. It was still good the next day. The restaurant is vast and spacious, with a big bar and dining area. It's an excellent place to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, or graduations. It's also a good place to watch sports, while I was happy watching my meals! I recommend this place for some flavorful Jamaican food! The staffers were excellent and friendly!

Ideal before a game at Barclay's Center in Brooklyn

By Fabien M |

I was supposed to eat before the Nets-Bulls game in Brooklyn at Barclay's Center. The idea was not to get too far away. And what I come across: The Simpson! I enjoyed it. Nice music, atmosphere that goes with it. Very (too) well served dishes. Competent and prompt service. Nothing to complain about: good appetite! Count in the $60 all-inclusive still for a full meal. Per person, of course.

Tasty, But Not Worth the Trip

By Doneca D |

The food was delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed every course. However, despite the excellent cuisine, I would probably choose not to return. Everything else, service and overall experience, fell short. Unfortunately, the overall experience just wasn’t worthwhile.

The Simpson and Marissa are the best!

By John P |

The Simpson in bklyn is a first class Caribbean restaurant. The food is top notch . I particularly liked the escovitch red snapper and the st.louis bourbon bbg ribs. The service is even better , especially Marissa who works behind the bar.She is very attentive to her customers ,whether they need another drink or if they have a question about something on the menu. She is a first rate server in a premium establishment.

Frustrated Repeat Customer

By Glen S |

The food and ambience are excellent. Staff very friendly and courteous. My only grouse is the difficulty in getting someone to speak with on the phone. Terribly annoying and frustrating. Otherwise great dining experience.

Parking issue

By Noemi C |

Hello, on September 28, a group of friends & family went to celebrate a birthday at Simpsons, the food was very good. The only complaint we have was the parking. It was too expensive, as a customer, the parking should be cheaper. Simpsons owner should look into it.

Amazing! Must visit!

By Sara H |

This was not a planned visit, but so glad that we went there. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was amazing, and the tall handsome manager dressed in a suit that greeted us was so friendly. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table and in that short time the executive chef and owner Chef Wenford, came over to us to make sure we were being helped. I noticed he did his rounds through the entire restaurant several times whilst we were there. The waitress was really friendly and they accommodated our allergies. We felt safe eating here. Then the food came, and wow. Not only did it look amazing it tasted amazing! We had the coconut shrimp appetizer, jerk chicken and coconut curry salmon. The best Caribbean food I’ve ever tasted. The vegetables were so full of flavor, and the jerk chicken to die for. I can’t wait to visit this restaurant again, and won’t just be going to the one in New York, can’t wait for the other locations to open. And will definitely be getting a picture with Chef Wenford next time, as I’m now a big fan!

Terrible

By Laurie P |

Terrible service, customer service, workers rude took forever for everything need to hire more staff so waiters are not overworked. The bartender had to come over to our table to place our drink order. 1/10 will not recommend!

Brooklyn Caribbean Dinner

By Claudia N Barnes |

Came here for dinner on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is lively, friendly, great ambience, and filled with a lot of energy no matter what day of the week you are there. Everyone is super friendly and engaging. The brown stew snapper with steamed cabbage and rice and peas was delish. The jerk pork fried rice was filled with robust flavors. The run punch is electric!!!!

Great food...Wonderful experience.

Took my mom here for her birthday (at her request) even though this was our third visit to the restaurant. The food was so delicious. We both ordered the Jerk Salmon. The staff was so nice and professional. When we walked in, the Manager immediately remembered my mom and made us feel welcome. Such an awesome experience every time we visit. I will definitely be back.
