Only for the view

By Abbey M |

The view is amazing but the service is poor. The waitress was not helpful and never filled our waters. The host was rude. If you want a good seat, reserve a table. The food was average and overpriced for the quality. The sandwiches are big and everything else is in small portions. The view was amazing but probably wouldn’t visit again. We were also not able to enjoy the rotation because they had technical difficulties.

Fabulous Views

The view is amazing. I can't attest to the restaurant food. I ate a lobster roll at the bar and it was very good!

Worth it for the view and experience

By FuzzyBeesMom |

While the view was awesome, food is not as good as the price indicates. I had salmon. You can get probably the same quality but can’t beat the view!

Terrible service- dampened my spirit

By Scorpio Child |

I absolutely should not let anyone rain on my special day but that’s exactly what is happening right now. Jerk of a server. Sat here for 13 miniyres before he came over. I did complain to the lady who sat us down and she “said she would look into it”. I’m sitting at the table right now. When the server finally came, he offered no apologies and when I asked him a question about the menu, her was extremely short. Hubby and I ordered a crab cake and told the server we would shortly decide on our entree. He appeared a bit taken aback and replied,”everything is timed, but that’s fine”. I took that robe code for “rose your food now”. He’s not overly rude but he’s just not polite and with hubby and I ordering crab cakes for an appetizer at $52, one would expect a higher level and quality of service. If I wanted less service, We would have gone to a B restaurant. This place is certainly not what I remember of it back in the day. James, the server, has upset me so much he’s blown my desire for bottle service. We are going to eat our food and go out elsewhere for drink where folks are happy to be hospitable. Especially on a birthday. This clown has made no acknowledgement of my birthday or anything. If the service changes for the better by the time appetizer or entree gets here, I’ll update this review, otherwise it stands as is. Disappointed. Thank goodness I’m local and didn’t travel from out of town to visit. I would have been heated!! Or more heated than I already am.

Beautiful view!

By Foodie Baé TV |

This restaurant is located inside the Westin hotel. Upon entering the hotel there’s a desk where they check your reservation and send up up the the restaurant. The elevator that takes you gives you a beautiful view but it’s nothing compared to the view you get once your inside the restaurant. I was a little disappointed that the restaurant was not spinning as advertised but the view was beautiful nonetheless. The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive. The food is delicious and well plated. We revived two souvenirs glasses which made out putting that much more special. I can’t wait to come back!

Drinks with a view

By Lindsay M |

We had drinks here one night on a recent trip to Atlanta. We were staying at the hotel so it was really convenient. The view is really nice, and it was very relaxing to be able to sit and have a drink at the end of the night. I had one of the champagne cocktails (The Julia, I believe) and it was delicious. The cocktail prices were pretty on par with what I would expect from a hotel bar. They seemed understaffed so our service was a bit slow, but we weren't in any hurry and weren't ordering food so it wasn't a big deal. If you're staying in the area and fancy a drink and a good view, definitely check this place out.

Amazing meal...at VERY HIGH PRICE

By Matt P |

this place is expensive. You are probably paying for the view, which is very impressive and the customer service. It no longer spins which is stinks. There is a check-in area, where I gave them my reservation information. I was getting frustrated at this point of the different check points having go through and the amount of people that wanted to get their tables as well. Our view blew. The best view is off the Park and Mercedes Benz satium and the Skyview. Our server was very patient and very helpful One time and that is it. Cost of the meal was clost to 400 which is crazy for just three of us and we didn't buy any crazy drinks

Nice

By David F |

Beautiful views good food. Service was very good. The sun dial normally rotates but has not done so because of an accident. Seems some parent are unable to control and watch Their kids one kid got badly injured because they put their hand where it was it suppose to be and now the sundial no longer rotates. To the sundial. Bring In Engineers to design and install a shroud to cover the tracks plus put in sensors. You can also put in cameras and simply monitor. And you can advise and caution parents to watch Their kids. Better yet don’t allow kids at dinner time. But get this place rotating again. We would go back but like to see this rotate again.

Wonderful Father’s Day brunch

By Kelley |

We had a wonderful experience! The food was great and the chef and waitress were incredible to work with us regarding my daughter’s food allergies. I had emailed ahead and it worked out great! It was also a relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful view.

The best view of Atlanta from the top floor!

By Deborah R |

This is a must-do when visiting Atlanta! Not only is the view of Atlanta absolutely breathtaking (day or night), but the restaurant is elegant and upscale. The whole experience is unforgettable!

Nice views, poor food

By VictorMondien |

Probably one of the most beautiful spot to see Atlanta at his 72th floor. But food wasn't good and overpriced. Wine was good, waitress so very nice person, but my salmon wasn't fresh, and without any memorable taste. My entree was a bisque shrimp that also, wasn't nothing memorable for the price. The worst? tap water is charged $1 each person. Why???? for a check of more than $100? they charge the water plus taxes and tip? No way.

Not Revolving But Stunning

By Melonie G |

Let me state.. I did not eat in the restaurant. The menu wasn't what I was looking for at the time (soul food), but as a guest in the hotel, I wanted to take full advantage of the renowned views. Taking the glass elevator to the 75th floor was a real treat! The restaurant is BEAUTIFUL, with neutral colors and stunning views of the city of Atlanta! The staff that walked by were friendly and engaging, and the bar wasn't too busy, but the patrons seemed happy. There was also a photo shoot underway when I arrived, so that was cool to peek at as well. The views are absolutely worth the trip, and I hope to try the restaurant the next time I visit. The only con was that the revolving part of the experience was down due to maintenance. Sort of a buzz kill, but the glass elevator was cool. *shrugs*

Made It To The Best View Of The City

By Khing Jus Wurk |

The food was great, can't say one thing stood out as excellent but can definitely say it was not bad food. The portions are small and what you tend to find in most fine dining establishments. The view is what you come for and it is breathtaking to say the least. Had one pet peeve as my dinner guess and I ordered different salads. I the wedge and her the Ceasar salad. She received the wedge in her Ceasar and mines was shredded. The waitress then tried to explain or try to that was how it was supposed to be, not realizing how wrong she was.

Amazing food with a view

By BigSnuff |

From the elevator ride up to the 72nd floor we had high hopes for our 7pm dinner reservation and they did not disappoint. We were sat with the perfect city view as well as sunset view. Our wait staff was prompt and friendly. I honestly think my water glass never reached half way before it was filled. The recommendations for dinner were spot on. I had the braised short rib and the wife enjoyed the Colorado Lamb chops. Each plate was flawlessly prepared and plated. We can not wait to get back and see what their seasonal menu offerings will be.

Worst Experience Ever

By jx z |

If you wanna spend 40 minutes to looking for the entrance, then you should definitely choose this restaurant.

Great food & views

By slawhorne |

You should not go to Atlanta without taking time to eat here. We enjoyed our dinner with breathtaking view of the night skyline. A bucket list for sure.

Good restaurant with outstanding views

By JON61569 |

The ascent to the restaurant isn't great for anyone with vertigo. The view is amazing as the lift is glass and external. Currently the rotating element of the restaurant is switched off so it's a static view. The service was mixed. Our waiter was very good, the receptionist at the top was ok. As we were staying in the hotel we asked to change tables as we were given the same view as our room. This was done, though it didn't feel like it was 'no problem', it felt like we had been a nuisance. The food I found a little disappointing. Beautifully presented though I felt it wasn't quite as top of the range as the setting and price indicated. Obviously a big part of the experience is the unrivaled views and those are superb. One thing to note, the air conditioning was working so well that I was cold. I would possibly visit again in daylight for the views though I would hope that it would be with the floor rotating again.

Worst experience and service ever

By Samia D |

I recently visited The Sun Dial for a business dinner with clients, hoping for a great experience given the stunning views. Despite reading some negative reviews, I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly disappointing. From the start, we were seated in an unwelcoming manner. When I requested a table with a better view, the host seemed annoyed, even though the place was empty. Our waiter took an unreasonably long time to take our food order after we placed our drink order, and the cocktails we received were poorly made. I had to return mine and opted for wine instead. Things didn't improve with the appetizers. The waiter didn’t place the order for one of them, so we were left waiting after finishing the first appetizer. While the apps were good, the main courses were a disaster. The lamb chops were tiny, dry, and overcooked. My clients ordered filet mignon which was also overcooked. After dessert, when I asked for the check, I noticed they had charged me for the cocktail I had returned. I provided two credit cards for payment, but the waiter returned with only one. My work credit card had vanished. Despite my insistence and my clients backing me up, the waiter and manager Julian claimed they couldn't find it. The waiter even tried to blame me for not telling him there were 2 card’s while he dropped the other card on the floor in front of us. I had to use Apple Pay to settle the bill and left because we had other events to attend. The next Night, when I was already back home, the manager called to say they had found the card by the credit card machine in the kitchen. She suggested I pick it up, despite knowing I didn't live locally. When I asked for it to be mailed, she said security wouldn't ship it and that I had to contact them directly. This response was unacceptable, especially after the embarrassment and inconvenience caused. I requested to speak with her director, but I haven't heard back from anyone yet. Do not go here.

Overpriced dinner with a view

By hambojambo |

An absolutely travesty. Called, left messages and filled out the contact forms for weeks to bring a group here. Had to finally get a friend of a friend to get someone to answer the phone for me. Valet was terrible, long lines on a Thursday night. Homeless people sleeping in the lobby. Wait staff was not supported properly, even with the restaurant being less than 1/3 capacity. Food quality was so-so for the price. Dinner service was terribly slow. Request for a cake was lost and no attempt by leadership to apologize. The final insult to injury was what we parked valet for 3 hours and 15 minutes due to long service. Valet would not honor the validation and we had to pay for valet after spending almost $2k on a family gathering meal. The one saving grace was the waiter and desk greeter. Both were absolutely superb and went out of their way to make the experience special. They are the only redeeming attribute to the experience.

Best server in town

By irbf22 |

The food was exceptional. Our server Micheal Ray is 5 star. But i was disappointed as it is suppose to be a revolving restaurant but it did not revolve at all. Apparently some 3 years ago some kid got stuck in the mechanism of the mechanics. Where was the parents? Now everyone has to suffer. People come to this restaurant because of the view.

The View

By Debra G |

I took my family to eat at the restaurant and it was a little pricey. However, the view of the city was beautiful!

30th birthday celebration

By Resner69 |

This restaurant is known for its glitz and ampulance. The ride up on the elevator up to the restaurant was and is eye catching. It's great to see more so at night. Once you arrive to the restaurant entrance, you are greeted by the hostess. Who already knows about your party. (size). Once you are shown to your table and greeted by your maitre d. The festivities will begin. You are shown a wine/drink menu along with restaurants eating menu. The food is fabulous!! From the white chocolate volcano to the Lobster bisque to the sea scallops w/pumpkin risotto. This restaurant is great for date night as well as any special occasion.

Perfection

By HiSeas97 |

I was concerned about coming here - I was worried it would be super expensive. But oh my goodness, I was proved so wrong! The food was amazing and well priced - plus you got a really good amount of food that was able to fill you up. I brought my BF for our 1-year anniversary and I couldn't have chosen a better spot. The views + the food + the staff were amazing. I would like to visit again, for dinner and a sunset.

Save Your Money

By PM |

I was looking forward to eating at this restaurant. The menu looked great and it has terrific views of the city. The prices are “sky high” but I don’t might paying for a high end experience. Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed as well as were my guests. The appetizers arriving before our drinks was an omen to come. The Caesars salad was clumps of romaine lettuce presented in an unappealing way. The shrimp and corn chowders were forgettable. Main meal arrives and the waiter wrote down a wrong meal. A guest received scallops instead of the sea bass he ordered. Not sure how this happens at a restaurant that considers itself high end. I had the pork chop. It was over cooked to the point of being extremely tough and very dry. The plate was overwhelmed by an orange purée (squash maybe? It was not even listed on the menu) that infiltrated all the other foods on it. My guests were equally disappointed in their meals. This restaurant charges prices that would be considered expensive in any city. They have not earned that right. Save yourself the elevator ride to a poor dining experience.

New Year's Eve celebration

By Roxyz762 |

We decided for a simple New Year’s Eve celebration with dinner reservation at the Peachtree Sun Dial. I actually thought it was close, due to the incident several years ago. Excitedly, I booked dinner reservations. We were enticed by the wait staff to go to the bar for jazz and toast. At the host stand we were informed there would be a $25 per person charge to access the bar area. After payment, the host then placed wristband on us. The guard posted at the base of the stairs leading to the bar should have been an indication of where the evening ambiance could lead. After settling in our seats, we learned from the wait staff there was no band and the only panoramic view is to take a stroll around the building. I suspect the building stopped rotation due to the aforementioned incident. The wait and host staff can only be described as YIA (Youth in Action ). Seventy-two floors above the ground is remarkable view of the city but not worthy $50. Honestly, the places has gone to the dogs! Marriott should consider either renaming the Sun Dial or completely renovation the place to restore it to its breathtaking grandeur. In the meantime, I suggest visiting the Hyatt’s Polaris not as high as the Sun Dial but actually rotates

Awful experience. Stay away.

By Horacio Navas |

We arrived 10 minutes early to our reservation to be put on a line and told to wait. We had to ask twice about it, until we were allowed to the elevator 30 minutes after our booked time. By now, 40 minutes and counting. Upstairs there were free tables, they are just not properly organized. They asked my name twice. While the view is very nice, we missed the sunset due to the delay. We started eating 1.5 hrs after our reserved time. The food is good, but overpriced. If possible, stay away.

Gorgeous views, good food, great service.

By Deborah W |

We went for lunch, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was very good. We went at lunch time for the view; it is a little disappointing that the Sun Dial is no longer rotating, but the views are exceptional. After lunch we strolled to the different lookout stations and enjoyed learning about the buildings around Atlanta.

NO SPIN Restaurant

By abethel2019 |

Nice views, good food but the restaurant needs some updating, also it DOES NOT spin! Waiter said it hasn’t spun for 8 years,,, big bummer. It was good but not sure I’d go again.

Special Place for a Family Celebration

By camista2 |

We had reservations for 4 at 7pm. Arrived a bit early so we could walk around the top floor to see the views. We were seated when we were ready. Service was fantastic. Our server was very knowledgeable of history of the tallest hotel in the Western Hemisphere, which the Kids loved hearing about. The restaurant no longer rotates due to a tragic accident a couple years back. But that does not diminish the spectacular sunset view. All 4 of us loved our meals (pork chop, baked chicken, Kids pizza, tortellini). We shared Chocolate Lava Cake, which was plenty for desert. Our server asked if she could validate our valet parking at the end of the meal. An awesome night - we will be back.

Great view poor bar

By lomaro |

The view is good and if I didn't have to pay $6 to get up I would go both day and evening. The bar however is worn Down, the service poor and the drinks a bit expensive especially since they tasted like they just came out of a bottle instead of being made on the premesis.

No rush

By Adam S |

Spent about an hour and a half for dinner for two. The plates are nothing to complain about. For a high-end restaurant, the portions are excellent. We had the Calimari for our sharable and BBQ Tomahawk Pork Chop and the Rack of Lamb for our entrees. Left full and happy. The only thing is, do not expect to eat and get the check quickly.

Waste of time and money

By 578jeanpaull |

I think this was a waste of our time and money. The restaurant no longer spin as they advertised. Parking was a mess, the hotel parking is very limited and we had to find public parking ($20). The restaurant is not updated, it looks from the 90s, you need to remodel and upgrade the decor and style to 2019! Food was Ok, but definitely not worth the prices we paid.

Disappointing extravagance

By jmanter |

crab cake appetizer seems canned filet mignon ordered medium but was very rare parking was congested and reserved had to park across street in private deck festive energy on new years eve staff was attentive but sometimes slow. had to send back wrong entree did not send back steak due to timing concerns The steak was still OK since do not mind rare too much. needed salt Pecan cheese cake was excellent tasty crunch the view is fantastic but overpriced 72nd floor but suggest northern view more skyscrapers great view or interstate connector and buildings view made for exciting atmosphere did not compensate for mediocre food not worth the price maybe just go for cocktails elegant vibe breathtaking

Worth a Visit

By CPABill |

We stayed at another hotel in town, and they told us not to go to the Sun Dial. They said it was overpriced and not worth it. We DID NOT take their advice, and went anyway. Sure, it wasn't cheap, but my wife and I found it to be an excellent dinner spot. The food and the service were great. After dinner, we went to the bar and had a couple of drinks. It was daylight when we ate dinner, and then it was dark by the time we went to the bar. That's the way to time it.

Not all it is cracked up to be

By kelcmons |

The artisan cocktail list isn't really that long, so it doesn't seem like there are many to choose from. We didn't eat dinner just had drinks. It was weird because they were highly controlling who could go to the top (we got a pass because we were staying in the hotel) but once we got up there is was pretty empty. We were sad when we got up there that it wasn't rotating and apparently hasn't for some time. This should have been advertised in the lobby somewhere. Although the drinks took a long time to make, the wait staff was very good and attentive. The view is incredible but wasn't that much different from our rooms. It is a definite must see if you aren't staying in the hotel. There isn't really an edge area like I was hoping where you could walk around the entire thing and since it wasn't spinning, the view you had was stagnant so very similar to the view from the room.

Great Views Don't Make Up for this DISAPPOINTMENT!

By Scott C |

Great elevator ride and fantastic views but not much more. When entrees run up $160 a plate, your expectations are elevated, unfortunately the quality of food and service was not. We were celebrating our 25th anniversary. I proposed to my wife in this restaurant 25 years ago; however, it is not the same place. For one, it no longer revolves and will likely never again since a child was killed there several years ago. But you can still walk around and enjoy fantastic viewing areas and a pretty decent bar. We went when they opened on Tuesday night and there was only us and a birthday party of about 14 ladies. Unfortunately, even though the restaurant was completely empty, they sat us all at the same booth area. We immediately asked if we could move to a neighboring table or anywhere else but the hostess said that was not possible because they were all taken. We were at the restaurant for over two hours and only saw one other patron anywhere near us and only a couple of others when we were exiting. So we were stuck next to this very loud and celebratory group of partyers who kept bumping my wife every time they jumped up for photos, another cheer, dance or whatever. Though we were about the only ones there, it still took an hour and fifteen minutes to get our food. Our server, Ann, was excellent and Darren to a very good job as well but when the food finally arrived it was terribly overcooked. It almost seemed liked they cooked our meals and then kept under a heat lamp until the party of 14 meals were ready and then served all of us at the same time. We like medium rare and there was no pink anywhere on my lamb or her steak. Very disappointing. We spent nearly $700 there but will never do so again and will do our best to make sure no one else wastes their money there. It really is a terrible waste of fantastic real estate!

Awesome Views, Delicious Food!

By SavedOne75 |

My best friend and niece were visiting so we took them here for a girls lunch and we all enjoyed the elevator ride and overall experience! After the rain stopped, the views were very nice and the food was delicious and the service was wonderful! If you like shrimp & grits, theirs is one of the best I've had and I highly recommend it. Great place for a special occasion meal, although dinner is much pricier than lunch, but a great experience and I'd go again just for the shrimp & grits!!

Great view, great service, great food

By EPottawa |

We spent our first evening in Atlanta on the 72nd floor at this restaurant. It was a great decision. The staff made sure to point out when the sunset was going to peak so we didn't miss it. The cocktails were perfection. The portions on food are much larger than we are used to so we stayed with appetizers and starters. The she-crab soup was bliss and the shrimp & grits divine. The service was incredibly kind and helpful. I'd go back in a heartbeat. My only regret is not having enough room for dessert! I see some reviews about it being expensive but the price was very very reasonable for what we got.

Sundial on the 72nd

By David T |

Having been a resident for the last week or so I treated myself to supper on the 72 floor! I was not disappointed! I was served by as charming waiter Kim ye who recommended the specialty fish dish , Bass in a gumbo sauce on rice!! Fantastic to the last mouthful. I observed what makes this restaurant unique in Atlanta famous … the stunning sun set . All in all a very pleasant experience!

Great view - Bad service

By WorldTraveling8 |

Overall, it was a very good place. It was an awesome view. We got there before sunset and watched the sunset as well as the night skyline from 72 floors up. The food was good, but way overpriced as expected. The service was very spotty - quite surprised how spotty it was.

Excellent place

By Rasheeda M |

The only disappointing thing is the hotel wasn't turning, we were told it was down for maintenance. The food and the waiter was outstanding.

Excellent food & Service

By TBONEWILLY999 |

My wife and I dined here before a Atlanta United Game. Its just short walk from the Westin to the stadium. We arrived 30 minutes before our reservation so we could enjoy a drink and walk around and check out all the views. The set up is very cool with view like stations. Be sure to check the weather before you go, otherwise I would recommend you reschedule to ensure a good sunset. The staff was very friendly, we were seated promptly with a good view of the stadium and the sunset. You should request a sunset view when you make your reservation. My wife enjoyed the Salmon and I had the rack of lamb, both cooked to perfection. Billy was our server, very knowledgeable and attentive. This place is not cheap, they are definitely charging a premium for the view. If you eat in the restaurant you are required to order one entree per person. You can eat in the bar from their bar menu if you want to enjoy the view and not spend a lot on food, A live band played music. I highly recommend to visit this place at least once and check out the cool views of the atlanta/georgia skyline.

Exquisite View & Meal!!!

By Stephanie R |

Like Top of the Hub in Boston or Space Needle in Seattle...this is the place to go for THE meal of your trip. Not to be missed. Dress up, plan to spend a couple hours, and relish the experience!!!

A nice place to relax after work.

By HappyTripz22 |

This was a very nice place to grab a drink and relax after a hard day of work with work friends. It is much larger than the downstairs bar but beware that it closes at midnight even though there were about 20 of us there.

Amazing Views and Good Food

By SoBelle27 |

We enjoyed dinner in the bar area of the Sundial recently. Needless to say, the views are amazing and on a clear day you really can see forever! We were pleasantly surprised by the food and it was just a nice spot to relax at the end of a busy day. If you are staying in the Westin be sure to take advantage and have at least one meal or a drink!

Fabulous View!

By suzieraesmom |

I was a little wary of what to expect here foodwise due to other reviews I read in advance and figuring the real draw is the view so the food might be just okay. And it is very pricey! However, I was pleasantly surprised as we really enjoyed our meal. We started by splitting the crabcake appetizer (two of us) which was absolutely delicious and plenty for just us...and they brought out warm bread with the best butter. I had the halibut and my daughter had salmon. No need for additional sides as the meals included enough. I loved the halibut since it had a nice crisp on top. We finished with cheesecake and coffee. Very satisfying meal! Everyone was very friendly, too. The only reason for a four is due to the slow service. We had to flag someone down for water refills after waiting for quite a while...and just really slow and inattentive. But great food, good ambiance (lots of people but not loud), and the view was wonderful.

73 Floor Overview

By klcustom |

When you stay in the Peachtree Plaza, it's a must to have dinner overlooking Atlanta. Specially when the sun sets into the night. You expect good food and indeed it was very good service with very tasty food. It nay seem not enough but trust me you will get full. About the only thing that was kind of disappointing was the fact that the turning of the tables was not working, so you got to look only to one direction. We did find out that in the future it will be turning again. Good because we are coming back.

Tip top service

By Freschie |

Our waitress was AMAZING! She was so fun, energetic, knew all about her city (Atlanta), and made our evening amazing. Unfortunately the restaurant no longer rotates because of an accident years ago. The food was still divine. Ask for a view of the sunset! Gorgeous! Also, as a new vegan I was able to order an amazing meal filled with vegetables. I cheated, however, with the butter and vanilla salt. Too delicious to turn down.

Disappointing food

By drdahlman |

With the amazing number of restaurants in Atlanta area, there's no need to go here but for the view. Disappointed all the way around. Begins with a fruity drink for my date....$18, large glass that you get to take home....woohoo...very sweet and hardly any alcohol. Then the Wedge Salad and while ordering was told they only had blue cheese dressing...IN THE WHOLE RESTAURANT! I don't do dairy based dressings and was informed they could bring olive oil and red wine vinegar to the table. OK, that'll do. Thought about it and asked the server to bring some garlic and grey poupon mustard to the table and I'll make my own. Suddenly a balsamic vinaigrette showed up with the salad. Weak salad. Lots of iceberg lettuce, blue cheese (took that off), some cherry tomatoes and a strip of bacon. Uninspired for sure. Server recommended the halibut. Great! No, not so great. Sent it back. Horrible mix of vegetables, mushrooms tasted bad and the halibut was fishy. Switched to the salmon. Actually, pretty good. Cheesecake for my date...she didn't eat it. $125 without tip with 2 glasses of wine for me. Not even close to being worth it. Go for the view, have a drink and then go to a good restaurant.

Beautiful views

By erinwilson4 |

We took our family here while in Atlanta and it was a lovely evening. The view of the city is the best. The food was good but pricey. I wish it was still the rotating restaurant that it once was, but I would still eat here again.

Wonderful view, but service was not at the level

By Renato L |

From scenery view standpoint it’s the very best place. My wife and I went for a dinner. From price/taste/service balance, price is too high. Too snobby people, looking like superior to you. Quality of food was good but did not justify the price. Take a coat with, very cold air conditioned place

The views are amazing!

By M W |

While on a business trip; staying at the Westin, the Sun Dial is a must. Great views and wonderfully staffed ~ drinks were just right and atmosphere was perfect.

Overpriced for what you get

By Leadership0813 |

The company had a dinner here early in October and again a few weeks later. The first time the food was mediocre and not worth the $$. A number of our meals were overcooked and dry. The second visit was much better. The food was cooked perfectly...no complaints! The wait staff is outstanding and personable. The restaurant no longer rotates. Although it’s still a great view, the novelty is gone.

Amazing experience!

By Aseretroque |

It was an amazing experience for our family; great food and an incredible ambiance. the views from the restaurant are a dream come true. We visited with small children and we felt confortable and the kids menu was very impressive. We definitely will be coming back and recommend it to our friends and family in the Dominican Republic.

What’s the point

By Scott H |

What’s the point of a rotating restaurant if it doesn’t rotate? Very disappointing. Would not have booked my hotel reservation, if I had known this.

Dialed in…

By Stevetycon |

Lamb was very good. Service was extraordinary. Our server Anne was fantastic. Very personable and entertaining but a professional in her service. Views are, of course, very good. Will return.

Great views

By AshleyB63 |

When I visited, the restaurant was not revolving--nevertheless, the views are incredible. If you're not staying at the hotel, you have to pay to go to the top :( and once you get there, the drinks are very expensive.

Beautiful Scenery

By Torrey H |

Never laughed so hard. While dining, I told my wife that the lady on the opposite side of the restaurant had a purse just like hers. Well, it was my wife's purse. The floor rotates but the outside stays stationary. The food was awesome and the staff was very nice. I'll definitely be going back. I usually go around valentine's day. They offer a great combination.

Amazing view with exquisite food!

By 2kayak |

Sun Dial is located at the top of the Westin Hotel in downtown Atlanta. Everyone in the establishment treated us like family, though we were only coming for lunch. The elevator for Sun Dial is located on the 5th floor but separate from the other elevators - it's an exterior elevator which in itself is awesome! You sign in before going up and then are met by staff for seating. Sat right at the north side with a beautiful view almost all the way almost to Kennesaw Civil War battlesite. You MUST order either a sandwich or entree for seating. On the pricey side - you pay for bottled water which they purify on site; wines start at $10. We had the $18 BLT made with super thick bacon and delicious (!) and the $17 fried chicken, which came with mac 'n cheese and collard greens. Local beers are available. Wait staff was exceptional. Made for a very special day.

A night to remember

By williamcF5930WR |

I did not give them a 5 out of 5 because of the drive and no parking and the rotating 360 view on the dinning area was broken. Other then that the experience was out of this world. It was the first time my wife has eaten there and she loved it. Food was amazing and our waiter we met on our way up. We where so impress with him and his stores and personality we requested his area so we could continue talking with him. Drinks where ok but the food was killer. If you are looking foe a quiet dinner with your loved one or a nice dinner with your family this could be the right place for you they can accommodate your needs.

Anniversary Celebration

My wife are celebrating our anniversary and selected the Sun Dial Restaurant to dine for the scenic view which is remarkable😀however the service was excellent while the food was exquisite💯

Disappointed - NO DRESS CODE!

By John T |

Of course it's an excellent, fine dining restaurant . . . great staff and excellent food . . . all SPOILED by people dressed BELOW casual. I DO appreciate the restaurant gets lots of tourist and in a summer of 90 degree heat "casual" is a temptation, but how about "dress casual"!? Or even not SO casual??? Men with OLD, somewhat dirty jeans, t-shirts with "junk" verbiage/logos; women with SHORT shorts, "tank" tops . . . I've seen a better crowd at McDonald's . . . Sun Dial, really? Great Staff, Great Food, Incredible View is more than enough to DEMAND a decent level of dress . . . Sad - An excellent restaurant, but I'm done with this one. I'm not paying these prices to endure a McDonald's environment, especially on special occasions!

Gorgeous views and friendly staff

By Kim23434 |

Stopped in twice for drinks and to enjoy the incredible view. We were staying at the Westin, but had dinner reservations elsewhere, so only had drinks. It was much easier to get in here than the Polaris Bar (which is on the top of the Hyatt—an hour wait) and I think the view here has to be a lot better as it is much higher up.

Has been place 😆

By Alisson B |

It used to be the Best Atlanta can offer . Now it's just an average steak house with totally overpriced menu. No steak is worth 85$ sorry 😞. To ad a pre frozen lobster 🦞 was $40. Outrageous. Salad was ok. Cheesecake was frozen before. Service was rushed and pushy. Will I come back ? No. So many new places in Atlanta to enjoy

Don’t waste your time.

By Kate K |

Had a reservation, upon arrival was told we had to wait 25 more minutes and they said to go wait at the bar. The party behind us who had w ridden down on the elevator with us was seated right away. We never heard back and ended up leaving. Don’t waste your time.

A fine time

By journalmytrips |

We visited this restaurant for the first time and we were able to view the city before sunset and after sunset when all the lights were on. It was a clear night and so the sunset was gorgeous. Our appetizer was calamari and it was just the right size for our group. Service was excellent and well timed. I had viewed the menu online before our reservation so I had an idea of what I might choose. I do understand that the menu changes every few months so if I were to go there again I would definitely look for what was offered.

Spectacular View with Great Food

By macotak |

Even though the rotation function is indefinitely down, the view was fantastic, service was excellent and friendly and the food was very outstanding, this from a couple of foodies. It is expensive, wine list is brief (and so is the Bourbon list) and maybe the wait for main entree was a little slow, but not an issue with us because we had a 3-1/2 hr dinner at our own pace totally enjoying the experience. Great for a special occasion.

Not worth it

By Greg R |

The red snapper was overcooked, the pheasant was overcooked, the steak was under done, the octopus was excellent, the salad was good, the restaurant no longer rotates so you only get the view from wherever you happen to be seated. The drinks were good. Service was slow. Our bill was about $500 for four of us.

Amazing View, Outstanding Service, Good Food.

By ChicagoMike97 |

I am from Portland, but most of my family is down in the south, particularly in East Tennessee and Atlanta. I flew from Portland, Oregon to Atlanta to visit family. Of course, I always knew about the massive Westin Peachtree Plaza hotel, and have stayed there several years ago. However, I never have tried the Sun Dial until this previous trip to Atlanta. I first wanted to point out that my server was outstanding. I wish I remembered what his name was, because he deserves to be recognized for his sincere customer service. He even was interested about the fact that I am from Portland, and that he has seen Seattle but really wants to visit Portland as well. We had a very good discussion. Second, the atmosphere of the restaurant is phenomenal. The restaurant did not rotate like it used to, so that surprised me. But the view was amazing. I was gazing at the Mercedes Benz stadium, Centennial Olympic Park, and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport in the distance, as planes took off and landed. It was an amazing site. The food was good; I got the lobster bisque as a starter, the Filet Mignon as my entrée, and the fried apple pie as my dessert. The lobster bisque was probably my least favorite of the three--hearty and rich, but could use a little more salt. The filet was cooked perfectly--medium rare at its best. The steak was well-seasoned, and the potatoes and creamed spinach that came with it were outstanding. The filet was the best-tasting course. In the middle was the dessert. The fried apple pie consisted of three deep-fried apple turnovers with vanilla bean ice cream and what I believe was a strawberry sauce. It was good, but again, lacked that powerful flavor. I thought it tasted a little too much like cinnamon pie crust, with a slight lack of apple. I gave the service a 5, the value a 5 (yes the place is expensive, but fine-dining restaurants here in Portland are similar in price), but I had to give the food a 4 because the lobster bisque and fried apple pie were slightly too bland. However, I would most definitely recommend the Sun Dial as a top restaurant on an Atlanta Tourist's bucket list.

Beautiful view, great service, foods are not that big of a deal

By W3694DLchris |

Was very excited to be able to get a reservation for our anniversary dinner. Love the elevator ride all the way to the 72 floor to get to the restaurant. Our server was Yves and he was very friendly and professional. The restaurant is modern with a breathtaking view of the whole city. Foods came out beautifully decorated- of which I loved. My husband’s steak came out well done rather than medium well, the server did ask if he wanted to redo another steak but he decided not to as he was afraid it would come out rare the next time. The manager did come to the table and gave us free dessert for the bad steak. So here is my thought: for the price of the dinner, we were expecting a pretty good meal but instead what we got was unremarkable. Nothing special, nothing out of ordinary that we couldn’t get at anywhere else. Yes, the view was spectacular but that was it. The kicker was they validated the parking ticket but the machine wouldn’t accept it and we ended up had to pay $25 for parking. Not cool people. We came, we ate, we wouldn’t recommend it.

Views of all ATL

By Steve S |

This is a great spot to have a drink and see the Atlanta environs. Costs a little to enter but as you see in the pics, great views.

Just wonderful in every way

By SandyM |

We were a little apprehensive because we have been to other upscale restaurants and were really disappointed. We had reservations at The Sun Dial for our anniversary. Got very lucky because we had "Ann" for our server. The views are spectacular....76 floors up. We ordered cocktails....wine and martini. Next they brought an assortment of breads with butter, and salt with seasoning. We had a salad with delectable greens, including tomatoes and squash strips, vinaigrette lemon dressing. My husband had strip steak with red potatoes cooked perfectly. My entree was chicken. I ordered it primarily because I wanted the brown rice, black beans, and fried cornbread. Everything was super delicious! As good as the views and food were, the highlight of the evening was Ann! She added so much fun and entertainment. I don't know who the other Servers are, but if you can get Ann, you will have a wonderful evening. Kudos to this restaurant!

Cold Food. Over Priced

By Lavern D |

Was taken here for my birthday. Food was ridiculously overpriced and cold. Not worth it. Great views but the 100 dollar steak was overcooked, everything was cold. Very disappointing. Drinks overpriced but tasted good.

Best views in a relaxing atmosphere.

By Janna |

Stopped in for the views, didn't realize that reservations are expected and if you arrive before the bar area opens at 2pm, you are also expected to order a sandwich or entree. Since we didn't want to wait 2 hours, we ordered lunch and took in the spectacular views (all the way to Stone Mountain). Reservations were not actually required as the restaurant was nearly empty. I'm really glad we stayed for lunch. James provided awesome service 72 floors high. Identifying buildings kept us occupied. Solid wine selection. Shrimp and grits were enjoyable (presented more like a polenta cake); chicken salad was good with a deconstructed lettuce wedge, a salad dressing with a kick, and a small, sliced chicken breast sliced on top. We continued our stay by visiting the observation bays on the 73rd floor, and took a few seats at the bar on the 74th floor (thanks to a leisurely lunch, the bar was now open) on the opposite side of where we lunched to vary the view while we enjoyed a glass of wine. A wonderful way to while away an afternoon in Hotlanta. I'm glad we visited during the day...I'm sure the city lights would be a romantic backdrop at night, there wouldn't be as much to see. I would return, especially for a sunset. Note that there is one elevator to the Sun Dial....walk through the elevator banks on the lobby level/5th floor and head nearly straight back. I think this is the 'up' elevator; our return to the 5th floor was via an elevator that part of the standard elevator banks. (are the reviews for the rotating restaurant for the Hyatt Regency's Polaris?? I wasn't aware that the Sun Dial ever rotated...)

Fantastic food and wonderful service

By Boo12367 |

We booked to eat here as we were staying at the Westin hotel. Had the New York Strip - delicious and the pecan pie was amazing. Our server, Ann Turner was wonderful. So friendly and attentive with wonderful stories - if you get the chance, ask for her, she will ensure you get a photo with the stunning view behind you.

Beautiful views!

By razorwan |

Like the Renaissance Center in Detroit, the top of this John Portman building also has a revolving restaurant. They basically charge you for the views, not the food! The service was great but the food wasn't as good as it should have been. I ordered the 30 day dry aged Tomahawk steak. For a regular Tomahawk, it was fine. For 30 day dry aged, I was expecting it to be much more tender. If you can afford it, it's a dining experience you won't forget!

Way over priced

By Bill T |

First, the restaurant doesn't revolve anymore so the view isn't the same. Second, you apparently pay a premium for that singular view as the food isnt on par with the price. We found a hair on a dish and so did the table next to ours. The wine list is sparse and the food was mostly over cooked. Service was OK. Its supposed to be business casual attire, but its apparently closer to "resort/beach attire" for most. Its a hotel restaurant for sure. They either need to class it up by cleaning house or just make it a far more casual fare with prices to match.

Nice

By Cris-Sherry |

This restaurant was very nice. The prices were very spendy, but the view was beautiful. We ate there one night, and the city lights were brilliant. We had the salmon. It was good. The service was good. At least to be at a more spendy restaurant, the quantity of food was nice and the taste was good.. It was a nice experience, but I probably would not go back due to the prices.

Great view!!!

By Rickzoom |

If you’re in Atlanta this is a must! Great view and great original cocktails to try! At night it can be a very romantic scene! Great service!

Party of 2 with a column.

By Frod3618 |

Our first time at The Sun Dial and we were celebrating our twelfth wedding anniversary. Location was great with fantastic views but the restaurant was having some problems. The dining area was not rotating but that was okay. We received a call from the restaurant to let us know of the problem well before our reservation. The signage and directions within the Westin could have been better. Following the few signs led us in circles in the lobby. The hosts that greeted us upon arriving upstairs and acknowledged our anniversary celebration but then sat us at a table with a direct view of a column talk about a great way to top off the issue of the dining area not rotating. There were a number of empty tables with unobstructed views but our dinner was destined to be party of 2 with a column. The food was simply amazing as well as the attention from the server but that view..

FCCLA National Conference and our first time

By Baybug2012 |

I was super nervous about going up to 72nd floor. However, I didn't look going up. I got my bearings at the top and looked on the way down. AWESOME views. The service was top notch. We had Nadia and she was quick, correct, & extremely professional. The atmosphere was very rich feeling. Great lunch. The food was spot on delicious from Sundial burgers, salads, soup, corn fritters, & shrimp & grits. JUST wonderful. A great place to celebrate something special. I am sure in the evening it is so pretty eating there.

Disappointing

By Donna C |

We were looking forward to a very upscale experience and were disappointed. The lobster was very watery and served in a bowl with the water still filling the bottom. The filet mignon was not as good as some I have had in less expensive restaurants. The ribeye steak was not bad, but again not what was expected for an upscale restaurant. Wait staff was very hurried and blamed problems on their boss overworking them. The view was absolutely beautiful and the ambience of the restaurant wonderful. Overall, much less of a food experience than one would expect for the cost of the meal.

Wow was that a good meal!

By krhayden |

The prices are high, but the food was amazing! I had the corn chowder and Halibut. Everything was perfectly cooked and delicious. I will go here again next time I'm in Atlanta.

Crab Cake Layer

By LondonDelia |

We dined here in the afternoon of Tuesday 8 October. When we arrived at the restaurant we noticed it was cold and were told it would be colder at our table. The air con was on high when it wasn't exceptionally hot outside. My concern is the effect the use of air condition has had and continues to have and how that will manifest in relation to climate change. On days that are not as warm there must be an argument to turn it down to help save the planet from us humans.

Great food with the bet view

By Dr. Jonathan JB |

The main reason to go should definately be the view. We were told that this was the 5th tallest building in Atlanta - and it indeed feels unrealistically high. The view at night was stunning! The food here was great and the wine selection allows for a complete dining experience. Service was good.

Gorgeous setting, great food

By Judie M |

After spending a very long day on our feet working at a food show we treated ourselves to dinner at Sun Dial. Our table was right by the window and the view was spectacular as the sun set and storm clouds moved in. Our waiter Mike was very attentive and gave us recommendations for dinner as well as information about some of the unusual buildings we could see. We had met Chef Justin at the show and he was kind enough to come to our table to welcome us and again later to make sure our meal was wonderful. My husband and I shared the pork belly appetizer. The best we’ve ever had! Our dinners, cider brined pork chop and Kona Kampachi fish, were both excellent and definitely generous. No going home hungry here! Thanks to Chef Justin and Mike for making this a memorable and relaxing evening.

Cover charge?

By kp7j4x |

Came here in 2010 when it spun around no cover charge. Came again yesterday and it no longer spins and they charge you 8 bucks for a cover charge. Now I can understand a cover charge if I go up just to look out the windows, however between drinks and dinner we spent $180.00. You may want to do something about shaky, rickety old chairs at the high tops. Imagine if someone sat on one and it broke........

Amazing

By Sarah |

We Had breakfast here, and it was amazing! The Salmon Grit cakes are to die for, and the mimosas are poured perfectly

Very expensive with slightly

By pretpret |

Very expensive with slightly above average food and poor service. Place was mostly empty on a Friday night. They also do not seat parties with reservations until every member of the party has arrived. Definitely will not return. Strongly recommend against any business functions at this establishment.

Terrible

By marla771 |

It took us 25 min to get a drink in the bar. Chairs had worn away fabric. The highlight, rotating, was broken. We had to close out bar tab before being seated and that took forever. Once seated the waiter was slow, didnt enter some of the meals and that resulted in 2 guests receiving their meals 20 minutes later. Plus food tasted like a diner yet they charge a premium. We ate at Polaris above Hyatt last night. Rotation worked. Service was phenomenal, food delicious and presentation impressive. Go there instead!

First visit to Atlanta--You can see it all from here!

By Ellen K |

Wonderful upscale restaurant with spectacular food and views! Recently renovated and its just beautiful! Our server, Jeff, was personable and very knowledgeable. Food was sublime! Highly recommended!

Love it!

By Alicia R |

Everything was excellent from the service to the food! We had filet mignon and Waugh. Great views of the city! Love Miss Ann!

Worth the view, not the food

By Maddy P |

We got a burger and a Cuban sandwich- Both very average and nothing to write home about but they cost about $20- eeek! For the price I was expecting something a lot better. Also the decor felt dated and the furniture dirty.

Zoe

By Stanka P |

The worst food and service ever. We waited 30 minutes for the starter. Range of food is limited and they even didn’t have some of the meals they put in the menu. Assortment of vine and cocktails is limited and they had out of the stock of some vines.

Underwhelmed

By lincatala |

We were attending the Apparel Show at the Atlanta Mart and staying at the Westin, so we decided to have dinner here. The hostess, who was rude and seemed bothered by our presence, informed us there was no open seating available (although from the bar we were able to observe the restaurant was pretty empty) and without asking if we were hotel guests, informed us we could pay $8 per person if we wanted to go the bar. Why anyone would pay money to access that bar is beyond me but anyway we were staying at the hotel so there was no charge. Once upstairs the mood was somber, the music was a bore, the staff was talking amongst themselves and the service was almost nonexistent. The bar menu is limited, to say the least. The only positive is the ride up on the elevator to the 72nd floor and the view, spectacular, but even that is not worth the trouble. With so many other excellent options (Morton’s, Cuts, etc) in the area this is not a must see.

Disappointed

By Mleung883 |

Service was good. Food was slightly more than just OK. The restroom looked more like that of a neglected gas station than an up scale restaurant. Most disappointed was the revolving restaurant no longer revolves.

Showing its Age

By jfd100 |

For my birthday, my partner took me out for a celebratory drink at the Sun Dial lounge on the 73rd level atop the Westin Peachtree. Parking was pricey, and there was an $8/person charge to ride the elevator up. When we got to the lounge, we found the rotation feature was not working, and apparently has not been working since 2017. There was no mention of this in the lobby where we paid to ride the elevator up, and the Sun Dial does not appear to have adjusted prices for the diminished attraction. We found seats with a good view looking north. Service was fairly prompt; cocktails were a generous pour and were $14, reasonable given the setting. The Sun Dial is over 40 years old, and the room needs a freshening up; upholstery and carpets were worn and looking a bit tired, not a look that works to communicate an elegant experience. After finishing our cocktails, we walked around the lounge to see the full panorama; it is a good vantage from which to see the city. All-in-all, a nice way to mark a special occasion, but considering the total tab, I suspect we’ll find other ways to celebrate in the future.

Over rated!

By john m |

Went on a business trip with a group 10. Our server was excellent and did a great job with the cocktails and appetizers for sharing at the table. I had a Cesar salad and steak with mashed potatoes it was good a solid 3, but didn’t knock my socks off for a high end restaurant. Would not recommend nor return.

Few things can be improved

By Saanmaau |

First of all, from a country where it is extremely normal, I don’t see the point why I could not be seated when my friends have not arrived. Second, one of my friends wanted a better table because the view from the assigned one was blocked by a pillar. Apparently we were the first time to Atlanta, and the whole reason booking Sun Dial was because of its view. We have been waited for another 15 minutes and escalated to the manager before we could be assigned to another table, when the restaurant was not even half full. View was good - but honestly I stayed in the same hotel so I got a better view from my room. Food was okay - not great. You can get the same quality in any of the restaurants of the same grade. Last and final. Please help me to understand the 18% service charge (default) when we received no service and when the server never smiled?!

Great food but service wasn’t to the same standard

By Steve_Hunter |

Views & food are fabulous, but the service wasn’t up to the same standard. Our server was very nice & friendly, but there were 2 large groups in the restaurant at the same time as us and we were a little neglected. Even when the large groups left, the standard of service didn’t improve significantly. The food was fabulous, with everyone in our group loving their choice.

Slightly Disappointed

By Connie H |

After planning my trip to Atlanta for my birthday I was very excited and very happy. I called to make reservations for two. I arrived on March 16th 2019 and was escorted to my seat. The restaurant was extremely beautiful, The view was AMAZING, the staff and the waitress was very pleasant and very kind from beginning to end last but not least the food was phenomenal. After sitting there for about an hour me and my guest sat there and noticed that the we wasn't rotating and I asked the waitress was we rotating and she replied no actually it hadn't rotated since 2017 and, i was some what slightly disappointed because I was so looking forward to the main attraction. I really looked forward to the rotation of the view. Generally overall I had an excellent trip and, overall I had a marvelous time. Thanks Sundial

Not worth the VERY high cost

By Dave B |

Not only is everything overpriced, but now they charge you a fee just to be there. Food and view are good, which is the only thing that spared them a 1 star rating. No longer a spot we will be taking any visitors to.

Incredible views!

By Julie H |

We really enjoyed our evening at this restaurant with a view! The food was good, but quite pricy. Our server, Ann was wonderful!

Great experience

By Margaret G |

The food was very delicious. I had a corn chowder to start followed by the New York strip steak, which was cooked exactly as I requested it! I ended with creme brûlée! I also has a margatini which was really tasty. My waiter was really friendly and answered all of my questions, including some suggestions of things to do in Atlanta.

Great views

By wasmith59 |

Outstanding views of the city. Excellent steak. Restaurant accommodated a group of 40, but had to break up into separate nooks with tables of 10. Worked ok, since we had some mingling time built in.

Great dinner with a view

By DEREK D |

Went here this weekend. Had a wonderful dinner with my wife. Service was excellent. Selections were good. The view is always the star of the show. Best view in the southeast.

A treat

By Rebecca G |

Ate here last night for the first time in many years. It was a treat for 4 friends who live in the Atlanta Suburbs. We took Uber downtown to avoid the hassle of driving and parking. We were disappointed that the bar and restaurant don't rotate. Told it is a maintenance issue, but they've not rotated since a bad accident 2 1/2 years ago. However the view was stunning. Service great. Good, but pricey drinks and food. Still it all felt very special. We had nice meals and a very nice time.

Worth the time and money - very romantic

By Papa Bear 69 |

I had been a long time ago as a kid but remember the awesome views. Unfortunately it is currently not turning around but still excellent views and food was very good but I have had batter. You are paying for the views. Service was spot on. Very good and I highly recommend it for a date night!

Great dinner with a great view!

By Stephen O |

The menu had something for everyone! I went with a steak which was cooked to perfection. We also had crab cakes and scallops as an appetizer and they were also great. The wait staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating for our large group. There is also a bar area that provides a great view of the city.

Nonstarter

By Margaret K |

Due to g to USA in May for an organised tour that starts in Atlanta, had read reviews or the Sundial and thought it would be a lovely way to start our holiday, I contacted the restaurant by email August 2018 and the reservation was confirmed, as the time is getting near I thought I would check up on my booking. At first I was told to book through their booking site, and as there wasn't any availability coming up for the night I was in Atlanta I contacted them again to be told there was a complex buyout that night and all reservations had been cancelled. I was offered a lunch time booking but as we fly into Atlanta in the afternoon this was not convenient. Then I was offered a glass of champagne!!! I am disgusted that I was not contacted before hand as I have been so looking forward to dining at this restaurant. So anyone booking make sure yu leave plenty f time t check your reservation. Very unhappy.

Not good

By Monica H |

Bad service Bad experience Don’t waste your money They don’t want tourists- they make it hard to visit. Don’t waste your time

Terrible customer service, untrained employees, crooks, do not uphold their statements, difficult to get on the phone

By Gabriella R |

I would leave 0 stars if I could. I confirmed with sundial’s employee over the phone that I wouldn’t be charged for the cancellation since I could not get ahold of someone on the phone the day prior and if the charge was processed, to call back and a manager would refund the charge. I could not reach anyone on the phone again the morning after the reservation when at 10 pm the night prior they charged my card. I finally got ahold of the same employee again who instructed me to call back at 5:30pm to speak to a manager to process the refund. Another employee then said that I wouldn’t be given a refund despite what the other employee said. On the night of the reservation had the employee told me I would’ve been charged I would’ve sent my parents or friends in my place. The OpenTable instructions that say to call to cancel or cancel on the app are both methods I tried. The second employee tried to say calling to cancel wouldn’t have sufficed either. Terrible service, poorly trained employees that give conflicting information, crooks. Don’t give them a card to reserve a table and don’t trust what employees say on the phone.

disappointed

By Randy M |

Like downtown Atlanta, the restaurant has gone downhill: its credit card machines were down so it accepted only cash, the motor that slowly revolved the restaurant no longer works, and it was waaay overpriced. Never again.

Great views but heavy food

By Ester C |

I ordered the brisket sandwich and the bread was soaked in oil and leaking too much sauce. I felt sick after. The chocolate lava cake was good though. It is nice to eat with the views of the observatory despite it does not rotate anymore.

Great view, excellent food

By Magnar Mo |

The Sun Dial is at the 71st floor of the Westin Hotel. Amazing views of the city, great food and excellent service from Jeff.

Drinks

By Alyson B |

We went up for drinks and the view. Its $8 per person to ride the elevator up if you are not staying at the Westin. It was worth it. Delicious if overpriced drinks, some of the best service we had in Atlanta.

Amazing food and views!

By bradshawgirl |

I had heard good things about the Sun Dial Restaurant, and it was so close to my hotel during a recent business trip to Atlanta that I couldn't resist making a reservation! After a bit of freshening up, I made my way to the Westin Hotel (where it's located) and took the elevator 70+ floors up! I was seated near a window on the west side of the dining room so I could watch the sun slip below the horizon as I ate. The windows are nearly floor-to-ceiling, and diners are afforded expansive views of the city and the green beyond. I ordered seared scallops, which came with a flavorful purple rice studded with andouille and vegetables. I washed it down with a glass of red wine for complete culinary happiness. A great experience!

Comes with a view...

By Birgitta-Kenneth |

..to say the least...Rotating restaurant and bar with lovely food and drinks and a view of Atlanta thats probably the best in town due to the rotation. Dont miss it

Rotation, rotation, rotation

By Richard P |

The entire point of going to the Sun Dial is to experience that rotating 360 degree view of Atlanta. Sure, its a breathtaking view even now, but you can only look at Mercedes Benz Stadium in awe for a few minutes before it becomes just another view. The food was good, but not $250.00 good.

Marginal

By Jaap M |

View is beautiful , the food is marginal. Turning restaurant is out of service but you pay for it anyway.

Fantastic cocktails and service

By Trish |

Excellent food but the service, my goodness!! It was absolutely flawless. True American beautiful hospitality. Could not recommend enough

Good food, great views

By David N |

The Sun Dial sits some 720 feet above the streets below on top of the Westin Hotel in Atlanta. You are taken to the top in a glass lift that runs up the side of the building. The views were stunning, imagine having dinner with helicopters flying below you. The food is good but quite pricey, $180 for two people with wine. The point for us is that it was probably a once in a lifetime opportunity and therefore what the hell?

Could not recommend LESS

By Lana A |

I had a horrible experience with the Sundial. This is a restaurant I have been coming to since I was a child and of which I have many fond memories, so I am extremely upset to see they have not kept their service I remember. I had a reservation made over four weeks in advance, and everything seemed to be set up perfectly. I now live in a different state but wanted to take my significant other to one of my childhood restaurants, so we booked lodging and travel plans just to visit this restaurant. Less than a week before our reservation, I get a call saying that our reservation is cancelled. I ask why repeatedly but am told that “[staff] is not allowed to say.” I am extremely upset that I had plans for over a month, and they were cancelled without reason less than a month. At this point, I already had travel and lodging booked and confirmed and could not get refunds even though the entire reason for the trip was to dine at the Sundial. I was told by staff that they would call me the following day and confirm they could not keep my reservation. I never heard from them, and I texted and called back that day as well as the next two days following my promised callback date. I never received any sort of answer or follow-up information. I wish I could give zero stars. It breaks my heart that a restaurant I used to love so much and frequent now would treat me this horribly. I never received an answer for why my reservation was cancelled and never received another call, as promised, or even a text or email. They have all of my information on file, so there is no excuse. I never even got an apology on the phone; I was just told they could not tell me why they were cancelling my reservation I had had for weeks five days before the actual reservation. They never attempted to find any sort of solution or offer a coupon for my troubles or anything like that. Staff was incredibly rude on the phone while telling me they had to cancel my reservation made a month ago with little notice and zero reason. I will NEVER go back here. You lost a customer of 20+ years; I had recommended this restaurant to so many friends and will never speak highly of it ever again. This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have had, period. I am incredibly heartbroken to be writing this review about a place that was a staple of my childhood, but I need everyone else to know that the service has taken a complete 180 from the kind service I remember getting years ago.

Cover Charge!!!!!!

By TexasBizTraveler2013 |

Since when have they imposed a cover charge for the bar????? We were going up to the bar for drinks and appetizers last night and we were charged $8 per person COVER CHARGE at the hostess stand in the lobby before we were allowed on the elevator. This is new!!! I can understand maybe a “minimum” to keep traffic down. But $8 on top of the inflated food and drink prices, and considering the rotation is gone, this is RIDICULOUS. The bar service was also terrible. Long wait time, had to get our own silverware. Asked for water 3x. Had to chase the waitress just to get another round of drinks. My company comes to Atlanta 7 times a year and we frequently stay at the Westin. NO MORE!!!!!

Perfect anniversary evening

By Marcia |

Everything was incredible- the food, the service, the view. We were a little nervous after reading some reviews, but this restaurant did not disappoint. This was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. Yes, the food is pricy, but it is fine dining. My husband had the filet and I had the lamp chops. Both were exceptional. Our server, Ann, was the best. (She is pictured with us below.) She recommended perfect cocktails and delicious substitutions for the sides. We weren't able to be seated by the window, but the view from across was still spectacular. Overall a fantastic experience. We highly recommend the Sundial.

Wonderful place for a special night

By SUTE |

We were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday, and I wanted some place special. This was our first time eating here. The prices are kinda steep, as in $215 for two people. That included tip, but not a dessert. The view is fantastic at night. Only negative was that there were some people dining who were definitely out of the dress code. That takes away from the ambiance.

Great views with bad food to match

By Traci D |

The only reason I can see to make the elevator ride to this spot atop the Westin Peachtree is for the view. We had drinks/apps in the bar and they were overpriced and pretty near awful. The cheese plate consisted of a rubbery brie-like substance and something kind of cheddar that tasted like mold. The white wine was room temperature - before they turned on the AC. Go up, have a look around, and then go find a better bar to enjoy.

Great view

By A B |

Finally made it to this place and it was great the lamb was perfect. The only thing that could have made this better was to turn on the spin feature.

It used to be awesome

By ctravel801 |

I’ve gone to the sun dial many times over the years. Each time the service is phenomenal but the whole reason to go is that the restaurant rotates giving you a 360 view of the city while you eat. Unfortunately, this past time they were not rotating the restaurant and offered very little insight as to when it would be fixed if at all. Very disappointing. If they fix the rotation feature I would rate this place five stars.

Great view Great staff not the best meal

By traveling bob |

I was really looking forward to a great night great food and a great view for our anniversary. Let me say the view was amazing the wait staff was also great. but the food I am not really used to paying $100 for a steak that was so full of fat that you could hardly enjoy it. this was the worse cut rib eye I have ever had. It was really not tasty and we found it dry over cooked and just disappointing. The sides were so so but the southern fried airplane chicken was tasty and the greens and hoe cakes that accompanied it were great. We loved the Calamari and the sauce that came with it and thought the fried pickles were a great addition to it. The drinks were done well also so mostly the steak was our only regret in ordering. Probably wont be coming back will try finding a different restaurant in Atlanta when we return .

Great food, shocking service

By JodieS1204 |

We were sat waiting for 45 minutes before receiving menus. Food service was also as slow but standard of food was good. Shame the service let such a beautiful setting down.

This restaurant is the only great point of the hotel

By DuffyDuckFrance |

The Sun Dial is a very nice restaurant, even if it is no longer turning! The team is nice and the food is nice, not cheap but worth spending some dollar for a nice moment with friends or family! Also the jazz band is super nice !

Best view EVER!!!!

By Team McLemore |

Great food, portions were surprisingly big!!! Not just a gimmicky view, the service and food are really good and the ride up the elevator will take your breath away!!!!

Date Night

By fun42 |

The hostess Daniella was lovely and our server Shauna was excellent. The food was delicious and the view was magnificent. We did not mind that the restaurant doesn't spin any longer, but I do see how that could have been a really wonderful experience. We had the oysters, seafood chowder, lobster tail all prepared perfectly. Great wine list. We would return for sure! Great experience

Go for the view and service - not the food

By jbains |

Having eaten at the Sundial before I took my gf who never had. I am so disappointed to have to say the food was a let down. Even though the restaurant no longer rotates the view from the 73rd floor is still amazing. Our waitress, Anne, with 34 years on staff was the absolute best. The food, however, was over priced at best. We had the scallop appetizer at $24.00....for 2 scallops. I don't care if they were brought in from Maryland - they weren't worth $12 each. The filet's were dry and lacked flavor and not worth $66. Honestly, you'd get a better steak at Outback. Then when we asked to substitute one veggie for another we were told there was a $9.00 charge for that. So if you come bring your eyes to see but leave your appetite at the door.

Great view, wonderful service, expensive dinner, but worth the experience.

By dolphin80 |

As others have already explained, this place is expensive and yes, you are paying for the view, which is very impressive, since you're 70+ floors up. My family and I were guests at the hotel, but we did make a reservation on our second night to have dinner at the Sun Dial. To get here, you take a special elevator, that is encased in glass, for an impressive and breathtaking ride up 70 stories. Once at the top, there is a check-in area, where I gave them my reservation information. They told me to hang tight as they were getting our table ready. On that particular level, it's essentially a 360 degree observation deck, with multiple areas you can hang out in and enjoy the view. Some spots have telescopes too. From here, you can see pretty much all of Atlanta in every direction. The night we came, there was a storm coming, which made things interesting. They let us know our table was ready and led us down a flight of stairs to the main dining area. They seated my family at a four top table right next to the window facing the Mercedes Benz Stadium, the Skyview, and Centennial Olympic park. A gentleman named Jeff or (Geoff) was our server and I give him props, as he was excellent, especially with his recommendations and attentiveness to our kids and their needs. This place has a fairly sparse dinner menu, but most of the main dishes you'd expect are on there....steaks, chicken, & seafood. The prices vary, but are all on the higher end. You can go crazy with the steaks, as they are all over the quality and price spectrum. The great thing too, since we have 9yr old twins, is the fact that they also have a kids menu, which has a great selection for picky eaters, such as my son. Pizza is on this menu which was a huge hit for him. The bread selection for the table was very good, with butter and salt made available. We got a couple of soups for our apps, Corn Chowder and Shrimp Bisque....both delicious. For my entree, I got the NY strip steak and my wife got the Salmon. The strip steak was a bit small for a meat-eater like me, but it was tasty. My wife enjoyed her Salmon, but I've always avoided it due to that salmon aftertaste, which her dinner had. Our server was fantastic, pointing out a few things out our window, and answering our questions on certain locations of buildings. During our dinner, a massive storm came through Atlanta, and it was eerie being up 70+ stories and seeing the view disappear behind a wall of water. The answer to your next question, is yes, the building does sway in high winds...but with its cylindrical design, does so only ever so slightly. The bill came and it was high, even with the kids eating off the kids menus. However, we did order a bottle of wine for my wife and I, so that probably skewed things as well. We did skip dessert as well. All in all, this was a fantastic experience. They had live music as well. I understand that the restaurant also revolved at one point, but due to a tragic accident where a youngster died as a result of the revolving mechanism, they have shut this feature down, and it is now stationary. In my opinion, this doesn't take away from the experience and wonderful view. I was only a tourist on this trip, but if I lived in Atlanta, I doubt I would come here very often, other than to bring out of town visitors for the same experience. If you haven't been here and are on the fence, you'll need to come and experience it for yourself. Now you know what to expect!

Great food and views

By lanietadedolores |

If you are not a guest at the hotel you must pay an entrance fee. The views from the 72nd floor are awesome specifically the sunset. Service was great and appetizers were tasty. The sausage flat bread and chicken wings were very good. I didn't have much of an appetite but thoroughly enjoyed eating. I had a glass of pinot grigio and the bourbon pecan pie dessert. Service was great and the restrooms were very clean.

Excellent place

By Ellen Jeanette J |

Awesome service and awesome food! Fine dining in a friendly business casual atmosphere! I have been here several times and they never let me down.

Awesome View & Great Food

By ReggieT6425 |

Minutes away from Mercedes Benz Stadium. It's on the 72nd floor so beware of the elevator ride with an open view if height is not your thing. Once there, the view of the city was amazing. On top of that, that food was delicious. We had the Salmon, potato cake (hash browns) and eggs and was to die for. I'll be sure to go here again next time in ATL.

Great place to celebrate!

By Expedito R |

Very good service. The environment is beautiful and logically in sight is fantastic. Usually in this situation the food would not be good, but the meal was excellent. Delicious dishes

Savory food. Great Service.

By GKC000 |

Jeff was our server. He was just perfect for our family as he was laid back yet still attentive. He made several recommendations, which we took him up on. My father had the Lamb, I had the New York Strip, and my mom had the vegetable option. We did the lump crab cake appetizer for the table. Real crab and quite large. We split it between the 3 of us. We also had dessert of chocolate lava cake and the berries with greek yoghurt. During our 2+ hour dining experience, we never felt rushed or that the service lagged in any way. It was overcast during our reservation which was unfortunate as we weren't able to enjoy the view, however, it did feel like we were dining inside of a cloud! :) Total price for 1 appetizer, 3 entrees, and 2 desserts was $265. A bit on the pricier side but well worth it given the quality of food and service. Will be back for sure.

Pricey but good

By Booha |

The elevator ride up is an excellent experience in itself. We saw one little girl of about nine quivering with fear as she walked out. Enjoy it though. Great view. Thoroughly professional service. Excellent food. I had a Scottish salmon over fruited quinoa that fell apart on the fork. My wife had generously portioned scallops over sweet potato mash. Kentucky bourbon pecan pie delicious though hardly any room. Since every place needs something to work on, my wife was disappointed with her “warm” caramel apple tart. The apples were cold. Unique location with excellent food and worth a visit if you’re not watching pennies.

Fabulous view of Atlanta

By hillarysmom |

The Sun Dial is circular and moves 360 degrees during dinner so that you can see a panoramic view of Atlanta. Atop the tallest hotel in Atlanta.

Great views, good food

By kenny_lynch |

Great views over the city - visited at sundown which made it even nicer. Attentive service. Food was very expensive but good quality and quantity.

Conference in Atlanta

By hilariog967 |

Another first! Been at the Westin for about two days then realized this place was here. Came up and Wow! The view was beautiful! The service was good and atmosphere was nice. Not to loud! I was just blown away by the view. Had a few drinks, didn’t eat, but the menu looked good. A must stop if your ever here.

Birthday Bliss

My fiance` took me to The Sun Dial for my birthday dinner and I was not disappointed at all! A totally spectacular dinning experience with spectacular views and 5-star food & dining.

Paying for the view.

You are paying for the view. Food and drinks are overpriced. Thank goodness I had an amazing waiter and again amazing view. Food was okay, nothing great.

Don't Dial-In or Dine @ the Sun Dial

By Bubbles B |

I am writing to inform the Group of the poor service at The Sun Dial Restaurant on a night that ought to have been extremely special. My party of three, which spent over $600.00 USD on New Year’s Eve dinner, was awful. Firstly, for a fine dining establishment, the staff should be maintaining higher grooming standards for ladies’ hair. The hair should be pulled back, away from the face at all times, either in a bun or pony-tail, NOT hanging down, which, our server’s hair was hanging far below her shoulders. The wear of hairstyles that do not minimize contact with food is both a health violation and unsanitary. Secondly, the air conditioning was on in the restaurant in a city that was 38 degrees that night. When I requested a staff member to assist with this matter, he said, “no.” There was also a language barrier with some of the staff members that made communication impossible as well as prevented us from comprehending a description of these dishes when they touched our table. It is also important to note that a complimentary glass of champagne or sparkling wine was not included with the meal. This is a customary practice of all fine dining establishments on New Year’s Eve. The Sun Dial fell short on measures of food quality and service, hospitality, and overall value. There was a pre-fix menu for this night and the dishes that were delivered to our table were auctioned off rather than placed in front of the proper seat number, completely unsatisfactory at this level. Furthermore, the appetizer IMMEDIATELY followed the amuse bouche, after we had only taken one bite. When I informed the gentleman offering the appetizers to us that we just received our amuse and to take the apps back, he simply continued to sit the plates down upon our table and rudely ignore me. When the third plate was en route, I explicitly said, “NO,” shook my head at him and requested that he please take this back. He then got angered and said forcefully, “THIS IS YOURS,” then dropped the plate down like a sack of bricks on the table and ran off. My party was stunned at this reaction. When our server finally came around, I politely informed her about the situation of the two courses that hit our table in back-to-back fashion and advised that this manner of service cannot continue to happen. She conveyed to us that the reason the two courses followed immediately was due to the anticipated long wait for the main course, almost an hour away. This is ludicrous! With a comment like that, I understood immediately that the staff worker did not care and was uneducated about proper table service. The server’s reasoning was illogical, at best. At least her estimate proved correct; however, as we received our main course an hour later, which was also unpleasant. I ordered the 18 oz ribeye at medium rare; however, it came out medium, with no cold pink center visible. Moreover, there was a messy schmear of butter on the steak, over two tablespoons, vice a neatly presented circle of compound butter. Additionally, the plate was garnished with soggy fried onions, which made my dinner look like something indicative of an Apple Bee’s plating rather than a fine dining establishment. The second guest ordered the filet mignon medium; however, it was served medium rare. Moreover, her filet was over seasoned with salt rendering it unpalatable. In consideration of the insensitivity and lack of training of the staff, the plate was not returned as a matter of frustration and inconvenience. Again, this type of cuisine is indicative of a low-level restaurant, not a fine dining establishment charging $135 per plate. The third guest, an honors graduate of the Culinary Institute of America and experienced food safety/sanitation professional, ordered the Chilean Sea Bass. This dish contained an overwhelming amount of heat heat/spice, likely, cayenne pepper. The fish was placed atop what appeared to be an attempt at a creamy risotto or rice pilaf gone horribly wrong. This starch component had closely resembled a spicy yellow rice soup that circled around the shallow plate non-aesthetically. This guest’s plate was preceded by a poorly executed beet salad wherein the salad greens were wilted and the pickled beets were hard in texture, not fully cooked. Additionally, the dressing was poured over the lettuce rather than mixed in. This indicated the salad was plated too early and not stored at a proper temperature. These dishes further exemplify the lack of training and education of the culinary front and back-of-house teams that is inexcusable at an establishment that advertises and charges as a fine dining restaurant. The subpar experience endured while ringing in the New Year should never happen at an establishment like the Sun Dial. When I attempted to speak to our server to inform her of ineptness of her fellow colleague, she dismissed the situation and offered an illogical explanation. The food quality and service was consistently dissatisfactory, lacking basic levels of server etiquette and culinary aptitude. By the end of the evening, my party desired to eat what was edible and exit as quickly as possible. The night that was supposed to be magical; however, the Sun Dial’s failed attempt at delivering a fine dining experience was the exact opposite. For this reason, I am requesting a full refund from the corporation.

Very Enjoyable Dinner

By Ed B |

My wife and I ate here for dinner this past weekend for our wedding anniversary. The food and drinks were good and cooked perfectly. For an appetizer we had the crab cake. It was good, but nothing special. The NY Strip and the two 5 oz. lobster tails was delicious. For dessert, the caramel apple tart and crème brulee were both excellent as well. The drinks were good, just a little over priced. Our server David was excellent. The views were also spectacular. We will be going back, but not anytime soon because of the price.

Great view

Love the view but was disappointed that I travel all the way to Atlanta and wasn't able to get a table to eat. We end up at the bar which was ok. Instagram - renatina_876...YouTube- Searena Treasure

Great Lunch menu.

By majbizz1 |

We were disappointed the restaurant was not spinning. According to the wait staff, it has not moved in two years. The food is still great. The views are still fantastic.

Very disappointed in everything

By David G |

We drove up from Palm Beach to have New Year's dinner at Sun Dial. We were under the impression the restaurant rotated; but learned once seated, that the rotation feature has been broken for years. We were given a table not facing the downtown area. We were also told we could not go to the bar after dinner without paying an additional $25/ea for access. This, after paying $600 for three people for dinner. On top of that, we needed to send one main course back, were not happy with the other two, and could not eat one of the desserts. All in all, the biggest gap I have ever had between cost and value.

the view

By Tropicalmich |

located in the 73rd floor of the westin hotel this circular bar has all the amazing views. you have to pay $8 cover to go to the bar which I find unusual but you can then also go to the observation deck on a lower level. for the cost of drinks cover charge should not be charged. friendly bartender but didn't know much about area for working in a very touristy location. beautiful views, glad we went.

Lovely, Romantic Restaurant

By Jillian M |

I had brunch here with my husband for my birthday and we felt really special! All of the food was to our liking. The cocktails were great. Everything was professional. The VIEW was incredible although you could feel a bit woozy 76 floors up!

Worth a visit

By Maggotyler |

This is an iconic restaurant at the 72nd floor. It's worth a visit for the breathtaking view. However, food is expensive and nothing too special. It's delicious, but I wouldn't pay that much if I was not at the last floor of such tall building. The service is impeccable, but the restaurant doesn't rotate anymore.

Delicious Meal & AMAZING Staff

By Greg K |

I recently hosted a party of 8 at the Sun Dial while we were in town for a conference. I had trouble getting reservations, however Assistant Food & Beverage Manager Josefine Scott went out of her way to make sure we had a table. The restaurant is beautiful with modern furniture and elegant lighting. You truly can't beat the views either. Our server that night was Shauna. She has worked there for 27 years and I hope she is there 27 more. She truly made our night. Her timely humor, food recommendations, and ability to make everyone in our group feel welcome was AMAZING. She is a gem. The food was delicious. Every course had a unique flavor and presentation. My group is usually hard to please. I can honestly say everyone walked away impressed and full. If you are in Atlanta the Sun Dial is a must! Thanks again to Shauna and Josefine for making our evening so memorable!!

Go for the view!

By TDeal4 |

Go for the view - it’s worth every penny! Atlanta is a beautiful city, especially from atop the Peachtree Plaza. The food is good, but not special. The service was very attentive. Overall a wonderful experience.

Quite possibly the best ever meal in and around Dundee.

By Sue S |

Family birthday evening meal. Great service excellent food and fair prices with a super view across the Tay to Dundee. Started with homemade facaccia with garlic butter and olives and homemade flatbreat with hummus. Shared among three of us it was so delicious we could have had both plates each! Luckily we had room far mains. Confit duck leg in a Chinese spiced sauce, chicken breast with Indian spices and dhal and really fresh lemon sole with a butter tomato and caper dressing. Carbs and vegetables included in price and everything cooked to perfection. Desserts were a sticky toffee pudding, a meringue roulade with candied banana and a cheesecake with strawberries and raspberry sorbet. The cheesecake was provided from the lunch menu as one of us asked whether they had it. We had a fantastic evening and will be back. Probably every birthday or excuse we can invent for a celebration. Lucky, lucky locals. So glad that this family owned restaurant was able to survive the lockdown. I hope it flourishes for a long time.

Exceptional view, Elegant restaurant for Very Special Occasions

By JilKey |

Be prepared for a long elevator ride up to the restaurant. Great view of the city, the hills on the horizon, and spectacular sunsets. Great ambiance and very formal dining room. Ask for a table near the restrooms, or you will get lost trying to find the restrooms. Ask for a table adjacent to windows for BEST view. There are tables one row away from windows that are nice, but not as special as tables near windows. Service was OK, not really special. Food was very good, but not exceptional (too salty). Avoid seafood at this STEAK restaurant - order meats. Reserve table in advance for Special Occasions only. Sun Dial is too expensive for routine dinner meals. For the price, the serving sizes are small but unique preparation. I had the Filet Mignon - very good, cooked to order, but not as tender as I had anticipated. Others in our party had halibut (too salty), roasted lamb ribs (2 small ribs), and I enjoyed the shrimp bisque appetizer - very creamy, good flavor, real shrimp chunks. Order an extra side of your favorite veges (try the caulilini)...vege portions on entree's are small. A nice place for special meetings, but too high priced for the quality and quantity.

No longer a rotating restaurant!

By Dearl D |

We came here for the food the view. The view is still great, but the restaurant no longer rotates while you are dining so you will need to walk around your self to see views of the city. We were not given an explanation for this change, but were told it might be permanent. The food was very good, I had a salad with fried chicken strips and my wife had Georgia trout on grits. The peach sorbet was delicious too! An adventure to get up there but was worth it!

Not worth the price

By Lainey C |

You are paying for the views. The food was good, but not AMAZING, especially for the price. Everything was typical of a higher end restaurant- good service, decent food, etc. but I wouldn't go back. Also, definitely don't go to the bar upstairs before hand. The worst cocktails we've ever had and they were $25 a pop.

Reservations booked well in advance for 2 people , cancelled bc of a corporate booking of entire floor more important

By Paula |

Do not count of this restaurant not CANCELLING on you when a company comes along with more money to take your spot even though you had booked it over a month prior to cancellation.

Treat yourself!!

We went for the view and enjoyed the entire experience. Great food and excellent customer service. Highly recommend. Go treat yourself!

The filet was outstanding and the view impeccable!! Unfortunatley the restaurant does not rotate anymore due to a tragedy a few years ago. The best view in Atlanta!!
