Very good burgers maybe the best in the town super atmosphere. For sure you have to visit if you in the midtown Friday night a bit busy just grab a beer and wot for the table.

There is an age requirement of 21 to go in The Vortex and it is well earned. It is a bar with a definite sexual theme shown in both the art work and the dress of the staff. The burgers are great and they offer interesting sides like funnel cake fries. This is a crowded and loud environment, but a popular hang out.

Visited today and caught the restaurant in a lull. Seated myself and was greeted by server immediately. Restaurant began to get busy but server kept up the whole time. Her (Robbie) service and response was spectacular. Food as always was excellent. Had the Three Little Pigs today (Pulled Pork, topped with Bacon, Provolone, Grilled Ham, and served on a hoagie roll topped with Onion Rings. Comes with (1) side and I ordered loaded potato salad. Price is really good for the amount of food that you get and parking is conveniently located just across Peachtree in the Pay lot. They get busy later (was a wait when I left) so try before 4:30PM.

I just wanted a burger bruh. I was so hungry and I wanted a burger and I looked up the best burger places and this place came up and the menu looked so good and I was so excited. Drove all the way there only to find out it was 21+. I am devastated. I was reading all these reviews about how the restaurant was featured on man vs. food and everything and I was so excited but no. Why are we gatekeeping the tv show restaurants. Criminal. Now I have to go somewhere significantly not as good. I will let this ruin the rest of my day thank you.

So, it’s an adult only bar - very cool for friends that are going out and don’t want tables of screaming kids next to them. Huge beer selection. Cider on draft. And the cheeseburgers!?! Holy heaven! 1/2# of pure deliciousness. Well worth the trip!

This is an adult-only restaurant, and the experience is quite interesting. I've been here several times and the food is decent. For the price, you get a lot. If you love spicy food, definitely try Hell's Fury!

This is my very first burger experience and I'm highly impressed. Went here for a lunch, got a table right away. Waitress was nice and explained us the menu, since we were burger beginners. I ordered a burger with avocado and it was incredibly tasty. Would like to come back again some day.

I came here for dinner whilst staying at the Intercontinental in Buckhead - an easy journey using the subway. It was full when I arrived, but as I was on my own, I could squeeze into a seat at the bar. After a couple of G&Ts I had a Hell's Fury burger - as the name suggests, not for the faint hearted, and the spicy relish defeated me after a few mouthfuls. The burger couldn't really be faulted and the accompanying fires did the job too. It was finished off by a very servicable Carbernet, and I left a happy man.

I have been a loyal customer of Vortex for 10 years, but tonight will be my last visit. “H” should not be in the restaurant and beverage industry. I have never received worse customer service that tonight. “h”, the alleged manager, was absolutely horrible, and was so bad at her job that I will be a vocal opponent of Vortex for the rest of my life.

The Vortex Bar & Grill is a very cool place to ride your motorcycle of choice and get a burger. The atmosphere is really very unique and fun. The burger I ordered was a Cheddar Cheeseburger well done and the presentation of the burger was okay, I would suggest respectfully standard. The size and portion of the burger was very good, and based upon the layout of The Vortex, I was expecting a unique flavor to go with ambiance of Vortex. I didn't get that, it was a basic burger with a very good taste and I enjoyed it, but I guess I was expecting more from it. I left wanting more from this burger.

Place has a cool Cool Urban\Outlaw feel, Marrissa was are server ,Great service ,had some Had a two dollar Beer special and two dollar mystery shots lol Large selection of beers and cocktails,Bar type food not fine dining but of the highest quality ,order was out super fast wished I had snapped a pick before devouring my meal, wife was full on half her burger ,would definitely return :)

I was there at this restaurant on Friday and I was treated horrible. I ordered a veggie burger that I could not eat and was forced to pay for it. I ordered the burger because previously but it was a soy bean based burger. The manager on duty was very nasty and condescending and did not offer any solutions. I will never go back

I love all the Vortex restaurants. Awesome burgers. Fascinating atmosphere. I think that they take snarky service as their shtick, like boobs and short shorts or idiot outfits and other restaurants. The food is worth it! The restaurants tend to be loud. Don’t bring your kids, they’re not allowed. For most that go, that’s the best incentive the place offers. So, get yersef to the Vortex.

First time being black light checked for an ID! The food was fantastic and the generous helpings were perfect for the price. I'm really looking forward to coming back. Also, don't forget to look for the phallus. ; p

I was in Atlanta for a work conference and started looking up awesome places to eat- happily The Vortex was found. My burger was amazing!! Drink prices were stellar, and the service was great. A triple win in my book. Just know that this is for guests 21 and up!

Awesome dive bar with great atmosphere, great beer choices and awesome burgers. You cant go wrong when going to Vortex. The staff is great and the food is amazing. Be sure to rub the Phalius while there for some much needed luck. Trust me you will dig this place.

We were in town for a work event and came in early so we could eat at The Vortex. Their burgers are amazing and oh so huge. We enjoyed our cold beers as we took in the decor. What a fun place to look around and see some interesting things. Service was great and I suggest you take the time to read through their menu. Our (adult) kids were upset that they missed going with us, but we will definitely return.

We stopped at the Vortex because a friend recommended we try it. The nachos were the best I have ever experienced!!! The cheese sauce was delicious!!! Hamburgers were delicious .... so moist!!! The atmosphere of the restaurant was just so entertaining- lots to look at on the walls and sitting around the restaurant!!! We highly recommend this restaurant!!!

If you haven’t been. I’d recommend you try it out. If you are of age…Decor is very risk-a But the food was good with lots of crazy options. Got the Dixie wrecked tots for appetizer. Really good. We all had burgers and enjoyed them all. Would go back to try other ones. Service was good and very friendly.

We visit Atlanta twice a year and always include a vortex visit !! Burgers are exquisite & cooked to perfection!! Black & Blue is delicious also mushroom Swiss!!

Very cool spot with tasty burgers. I had the Hell's Fury and was not disappointed but I will say it is hot. Fried pickles were also tasty as well.

It's a bar. It downtown ATL. It has burgers, etc. It has slow service. Lots of hype about it, much ado about nothing. Just average.

This place is AMAZING! First of all, their menu/house rules are hilarious and on point. The atmosphere is great. Our server was dynamite. Oh - and the food - DELICIOUS! I got the pickle rick and my friend got the classic bypass. We couldn’t even finish our food we were so full. We also split a bucket of their house brews - do it. Another mate joined us and ordered the funnel cake fries - a must. I’m telling you, you will NOT be disappointed. Just make sure you’re 21+ to get it

Visiting in mid July and having looked at TA for suitable places to eat .The Vortex was a must visit ! We were not disappointed Seated in the Non Smoking area. The placed is dark and full of atmosphere. The server was quick to say hello and leave us menus. We started with chilli Nachos and followed up what we think was the two best burgers we have ever had Cooked to perfection just the way we asked for . The flight of beer was great too. There are many reviews about The Vortex burgers and how great they are . If you are coming to Atlanta you have to visit here . Next time in town, This is definitely our first visit place to eat ! The menu can be viewed on line with the link above on The Vortex web site . Have a read at the rules section . We loved the rules and wished the server had left the menus so we could read on ! The only down side to the place was smoke that fills the place. Don't miss out, dine at The Vortex!

Last night at the Vortex was actually one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I absolutely love their burgers, but I just wish I actually would’ve had the chance to enjoy one because they never gave it to me. I was in a group of 5. Our waitress didn’t come to our table for probably about 20 min. She apologized because she had just served a huge group of 14 people, so that’s understandable. We ordered 3 waters and 3 cokes and only 2 waters came. We reminded her we didnt get the sodas and she didn’t bring them until the very end of the meal after done eating and reminding her again… and again…. She also never brought our appetizers. She brought everyone’s meal and my meal was missing the freaking burger patty! I also didn’t have salad dressing or utensils and I watched my friends finish their meal before I could even get a fork. When she finally brought silverware she apologized for not ringing up the patty and said the manager was on it. Waited another 30 min while my friends are ready to leave since they had already finished their meals. She came back and was surprised I still didn’t have it and told me again that they were working on it. Seriously? Did they just forget about it again? Then this waitress had the audacity to hand me a check without the meal even in my hand…. I told her I didn’t want to pay for it because I still didn’t have it! Then the manager came over said she could just cancel it if I wasn’t paying for it. Omg. I asked her if it was made yet and she said they were “working on it.” Wow lies again. All I was craving was that burger and I sat there for almost 2 hours and they couldn’t get it to me and wasn’t willing to comp a meal that they didn’t give me. Not to mention again our apps, drinks, silverware or dressing not arriving either. I was absolutely shocked at this service, it ruined the experience I was having catching up with my friends, and I surely will not be coming back here.

Funky place with a good, fun atmosphere. We ordered from their specialty burgers, I had one with blue cheese and bacon and they were very good and had some beers to wash them down, as a starter we had fried pickles which were delicious. Service was OK, and in general a good experience, if I were to be in the area I would consider visiting again.

Burgers lived up to their expectations - especially the Patty Melt -Tater tots are outstanding so are the onion rings. service is slow even sitting at the bar where we were as the bartenders were busy playing around with each other.

First, if it’s busy they will write your name down and tell you to wait outside in a crowded pen with other people that definitely aren’t social distancing. No phone numbers, just a guy that will yell your name out and if you miss it, you’re SOL. Then, you’ll witness the staff be edgy and sarcastic, which is cool and all but it’s not really justified when you’re just nice and trying to enjoy a cool atmosphere. I never got my water refilled, and when I made eye contact with the waitress she rolled her eyes and literally never came back until it was time to pay. Swear we’re not jerk customers, we just thought they reserve the rudeness for actual rude customers. Instead, they make you feel unwelcome for even being there, making you feel like the a hole. Plus, the food isn’t revolutionary, and it’s overpriced.

My wife and I went there for our anniversary and it was The best burger I have ever had! I Love the atmosphere and the fact that there are no noisy kids to interrupt a romantic dinner. I also thought the prices were very fair, especially considering that they use 2 slices of cheese at no charge. I am a cheese addict, so this made me very happy. It was great to hear awesome rock music (mostly 80’s) while we ate. We had a great time.

Sure this is a tourist attraction, but they really do serve some of the best burgers in the city.. REALLY. I like spicy so try the Cajun burger with side of Cajun cause to dip your tots in.. Not a fan of a pay to park thing but that's where we are in metro ATL.. After eating, take a walk to work out all of that fatty goodness. The Vortex is located in one of the most eclectic areas of Atlanta, so you are bound to see and hear anything. Great atmosphere and great food at the Vortex.

The food is amazing, great quality. The burgers are the specialty and they do have a vegetarian option which was great. The environment and details of the place are really taking care of so you feel like in a motorcycle bar. Amazing service and nice music!

We went here on a Thursday night after a Symphony concert at Woodruff Arts Center. It’s a little bit of a walk, but our condo is in the middle of the walk. It was a nice night and we hadn’t been to this Vortex for awhile. My husband really wanted to go for the food and late-night atmosphere. When we got there, the security guard looked bored; I guess that’s good. We walked in at about 10 pm or so, nobody at the hostess stand. But we wanted a table and knew we should wait. In a little bit, a young woman appeared. She didn’t acknowledge us right away but did look up at me. I said “two.” She said “Follow me.” Good enough I guess. We were seated at a roomy booth and I thanked her. Some of the wooden chairs looked uncomfortable and this, even though the bench was broken down, seemed nicer than the tables. Our server was with us right away; at first she was just efficient, later in the evening she was downright surly. It must be hard working in a tourist joint like this and we did NOT ask for anything special. She offered waters with our drinks and we thanked her. So she did a good job but somebody must’ve been giving her a hard time.... My husband got a beer ($5) and I started with a Sapphire & Tonic. That went down fast! It was pretty good but the tonic seemed a little flat. I ordered a Four Horsemen burger, which is described as having horseradish sauce, grilled onions, sautéed mushrooms, and jack cheese on a blackened patty. I ordered it medium and with tater tots. My husband ordered the Cubano with onion rings. My burger came drenched in a cream sauce that had a little bit of horseradish in it. I detected two mushroom slices and no onions at all. Couldn’t tell if there was jack cheese either. The burger was well-done and DRY. One bite had some blackening seasoning; it was very sweet and not what I expect when ordering something blackened. The burger also comes with pickle slices (very good), tomato (not ripe), and lettuce (good). The bun was ok. The tater tots were crunchy but not really warm. I really did not like all the cream sauce on my burger and it was not what I expected. My husband’s Cubano had no flavor; I had a piece and thought it was very bland. His onion rings were over cooked and some were burnt; he left 90% of them as they all tasted burnt (I had one that was lighter colored; it tasted burnt). I ordered a margarita with Herradura Reposado. I forgot to say rocks and my husband added “On the rocks.” Our server took offense at that and I quickly added that he was just looking out for me as I really hate frozen margaritas. She was weirdly rude about that. We tipped her more than 20% because she was fast and thorough. She won’t win Miss Congeniality any time soon though! The margarita was the winner of the night. I highly recommend their margaritas with name brand tequila; really good. I think that even though we are walking distance from The Vortex when we are in town, it will be awhile until we go back.

Every time I visit Atlanta, I eat at the Vortex! It is so good. I love the bbq Mac and cheese changas. Also, their tator tots are the best you’ll ever have!

Did not eat here. Due to pigging out elsewhere. Drink menu is interesting and creative and delicious. Very much I would come back

While you have to be 21 to enter, this bar and grill exceeds all expectations! The inside of the bar will draw you in with it’s unique decorations, which provides a fun atmosphere. Along with that, the food and drinks are wonderful as well. They are ‘down for their burgers, and I can see why. Whether you order a single Coronary Bypass, or a Pickle Rick, you will not be disappointed.

Anyone that has heard of this place knows there’s nothing normal about it. Be aware that is is always busy, but just enjoy it. Hang out and get a drink to relax. I usually don’t recommend burger places on vacations, but this place is unique enough and has such great food. Try it out!

This was our first time visiting this location (we have been to the one in Little 5 Points a few years ago) and we had a great dinner. This is a bar, so you do have to be 21 to get in. We arrived on a Friday evening around 5:00 PM and were seated right away. It started to get pretty busy shortly after we were seated. The music was great (music played by Rob Zombie, Ozzy, Queens of The Stone Age, Bowie, just to name a few) being that we are big rock music fans it added to the great atmosphere. The burgers were awesome and I loved their potato salad, it was delicious. Our cocktails were spot on, too, absolutely amazing. Our server was wonderful, she was very attentive though she was swamped with other tables. We will come back for sure the next time we visit Atlanta.

Fun place to have a beer and a burger. Great beer list with a lot of draft beers. We actually had the Reuben and tater tots. Excellent and fun.

Located at 878 Peachtree Street NE, The Vortex in Midtown Atlanta is a beloved institution known for its eclectic atmosphere, mouthwatering burgers, and vibrant nightlife. Since opening its doors in 1992, The Vortex has become a staple in Atlanta’s dining scene, attracting locals and visitors alike with its unique charm and delicious offerings. The interior is adorned with eclectic decor, including vintage signs, neon lights, and an array of quirky memorabilia. The Vortex is renowned for its extensive menu of creative and indulgent burgers. The Vortex offers a variety of appetizers, sandwiches, and salads, ensuring there’s something for everyone. The Vortex boasts an impressive selection of beverages, including a wide array of craft beers, cocktails, and spirits.

Awesome bar restaurant with great service. The burgers were great and service was excellent. Great spot to grab a quick bite to eat.

Had heard about this place and the monster burgers... Visited with my son (his 24th b'day) and a good friend of his after the Atlanta FC final game (inaugural season). It was the perfect "cherry on top" to our birthday celebration. Ambiance was vibrant and unique on the positive side. The bar was colossally impressive and I made the mental note "have to visit again". Service was attentive, friendly and enhanced an already solid set of factors. We had the burgers (did sample the baby cardiac) and they were excellent... I give this place a 9 out of 10 and recommend it as a "must see/do" for anyone coming to Atlanta that wants to have "fun eating and fulfilling experience"... you wont need to ask to see the Phallic... make sure you rub it for good fortune!

We met some friends here for lunch on a Friday about noon. The place was not very busy but quickly filled up. I was the last one to arrive to meet my wife and our friends. They already ordered and received their food and my wife ordered something for me when I told her I was on my way. When I arrived I went in and found them and the server came by. I placed an order for a beverage and she brought out my food. I saw that my wife had the peanut butter bacon burger which she loves. She said it was delicious. For me she ordered the Mac N Cheesy Changa appetizer. She knew it was right up my alley when she read it on the menu. It is BBQ pulled pork and macaroni and cheese wrapped up in a flour tortilla, deep fried, sliced and drizzled with more cheese. It looked delicious and tasted just as good. We sat and chatted a while until we each had to be on our way. Overall it was a good experience. I would highly recommend trying either the peanut butter bacon burger or Mac N Cheesy Changa.

This is a proper bar... lots of authentic memorabilia, lots of beer brands and drinks. Bar staff were really friendly and advised on drinks. I get the feeling that this would be a class night out, we just had afternoon beers. Would love to go back one evening

The burgers here are very good. Enjoyed eating there every time I went there. If they had any parking arrangements, I would have gone there often.

My husband and I visited this bar as well after we seen Jeff Dunham at the State Farm Arena, It was fine, I guess. More like a bar and bar food. They have a large penis carved out of wood at the entrance to the bar area. I wouldn't go back

The Vortex is an Atlanta staple. It's inevitable that you'll walk in and get an amazing burger and fries. The smell of cigarettes and loud music will follow you everywhere. Not a healthy option in site, but overall it's a must do if you live in Atlanta.

The vortex has the best mixed drinks anywhere around as well as the most outstanding burgers you could possibly get.

The grilled cheese was so good ..dipped in it there yummy ranch dressing..fried pickles were yummy as well ..service was great ..will go back

A friend recommend this place as it was our first time visiting ATL. Did not disappoint! Fun adults only atmosphere with great service. We each had a burger, it was delicious and portions were large. Fills up fast at lunch time, get there early.

From outside looks like an adults only club. Inside is the same vibe. Many pieces of erotic art. We were told they have the best burgers in Atalanta so we gave it a try. And my burger was delicious. Cheers to the chef. The restaurant also is attached to a comedy club which connect in the bathroom area. Strange layout. But again my burger was on point. Of street parking or ride share. Not kid friendly.

My boyfriend has been wanting to come to The Vortex for years. We finally had the opportunity to come. The food and drinks were great. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was amazing. We would definitely visit again.

We were recommended to try this place and it did not disappoint! Delicious food (though huge portions!) and tried fried pickles for the first time - love them! Great atmosphere and really weird decor that I loved!

Everyone should stop at the Vortex for a great burger when in Atlanta. The parking was easy & the food was good. Highly recommend

I have been to Atlanta twice on business and I ate here the first time because I found it online... I came here the second time because of that first time! The wings were incredible but I recommend going easy on the Atomic Death Sauce, it is not joke but what a great flavor! Cool place to go with friends (though I was alone)

This bar is 21 years & up bar ONLY - yes they do card you to make sure even if you look older. No parking fyi. The BURGER is fantastic- I ordered the Votex burger with the works and the tater tots. Burger was cooked exactly how I ordered medium rare, still hot when it came out. Tater tots were crispy & warm, did need a little salt but not big deal. Highly recommend. Good bit that isn't terribly overpriced for city food.

This is a lively restaurant offering good value portion food. We were well looked after by Andrew who guided us through our choices. We had the Atlanta Chopped Cheese which was sublime and the Tex Melt which was delicious. To drink we had the Amber and Gate City. For a meal where we could not eat another thing the bill came to just over $40. A must visit !

Honestly 5/10 and here’s why. PRO: We only had 2 people, but we were sat super quickly. Food also came out pretty quickly and it’s a lot of bang for your buck. CON: Our waitress was super dismissive, didn’t smile at us once and had the most annoyed look on her face the whole night. If we ever went back, we are requesting not to be put in her section again because customer service was trash. FOOD HAD ABSOLUTELY NO SEASONING. Not the burger. Not the fries. Not even the grilled the onions. Like who was back there on 8/13 cause they didn’t care. Side note: The funnel cake fries tho were AMAZING! I mean you can really get straight sugar wrong.

Love the decor and atmosphere. The rules are entertaining. The server and bartender were nice but we felt rushed to order vs enjoying our drinks. The cheese curds (balls O’ glory) are good but little pricey for the portion size and were only mildly warm. The classic bypass burger was definitely amazing. The ATLien drink was a little weak but decent price. The skull crusher drink was stronger but she forgot to bring it in the correct souvenir mug. No parking on site

We were very happy with our burgers here. Good meat, bacon, etc, but lots of different and interesting combinations of toppings. The atmosphere is definitely a little wacky, but adds a fun touch. We'll definitely go back if we're ever in Atlanta again!

Reliably great burgers. Good service. Great variety of drinks. Fun place, but a little loud. I remember the original location very fondly!

It is a strange place but really something different! Magnificent beers, an impressive selection of burgers and the next door Comedy Club makes it a perfect night out.

Security dude (photo attached) took a step to check my ID, then realized I'm not young, but "wise" in his words...made my day. Everyone was energetic. Great food, drinks and service. Only reason I left was my sensitivity to cigarette smoke.

It took a bit to convince my family to wait a little over 35 minutes but I assured them it should be worth it as I read that The Vortex is one of the best places to get a burger in Atlanta. We were definitely not disappointed! Even though the wait was long it didn’t take long to get the food and our service was outstanding. I’m always down to try a burger with peanut butter but instead I opted for the KA’MANA WA’NA LEI’YA “A scoop of chipotle cream cheese, 3 slices of bacon and spicy pineapple jalapeño jelly on Texas toast.” Sounds weird right???? It totally works though! I wish I could eat here on a regular basis. Their loaded potato salad is a great size as well. For dessert we ordered some funnel cake fries. I didn’t try them while they were hot but my mom said she enjoyed them as well. This joint is 21+, no exceptions, so I felt a little bad that my sister in law couldn’t come home because they couldn’t find someone to watch the babies. I didn’t hate the fact though that there were no screaming, crying or running children.

This is such a cool place to eat....the food was good as was the service.... The only thing that I wasn't happy about was I asked for my burger to be medium rare and it came out medium well 🥺 Great place to visit!!!

We ended up stopping by this place on a recommendation from my manager who is from Atlanta. He was miffed we didn’t attempt to go to the original but this location was within walking distance of our hotel. There was plenty of seating even though the place had a lot of patrons by the time we walked in for dinner. I ordered the Holy Guacamole Burger and my husband got whatever burger comes on texas toast. Both were so juicy and flavorful and the whole meal will keep you full for a long time. We also tried 4 of their signature cocktails (don’t remember which) and all were strong and tasty. While I loved the food and would definitely come back to try their huge menu, the service was really awful. This is particularly important to note because this restaurant is famous for its giant list of rules that essentially say be a good person or you’re getting thrown out. I completely agree with the concept but it should go both ways. If you insist on a good attitude from your customers you should hold your employees to the same standard. Our waitress had a major attitude for every interaction we had from the start. It felt like we were wasting her time dining there. And we noted she interected like this with the tables around us as well. Maybe the service industry isn’t for her. For that, I knocked off a star because it really took the fun out of the place.

Our favorite restaurant in Atlanta! Amazing burgers! Try the hell fire burger! My wife said the grilled chicken salad was the best ever! Not good for kids, made it better! No screaming babies! Can’t wait to go back!

Nice food, very good interior, good local IPAs. The staff was also very friendly. Good place to enjoy good food with friends.

Vortex did it. Whether it comes down to the lighting or the serving time, the ambiance, the interactions with the servers or even the quality of the seats...man this place totally did it for me. Their drinks are amazing. Their selection of beers could please any picky beer aficionado of this world. The beef/chicken is cooked to perfection. Their sandwich condiments combination is flawless. Their appetizers are daring, delicious and make you want to make an entree meal out of them! I make a point to go there every time I'm in town and needless to say, I never get disappointed. Already looking forward to next time!!

The worst part about the whole experience was finding a place to park. The food comes in big portions and tastes amazing! I had the BBQ Burger and I was never so satisfied with making a mess of myself while enjoying one of the best burgers I’ve had! There’s a great selection of drinks as well! Can’t go wrong here!

Besides the very unique environment of this restrurant bar, you will also discover basic great meals available. Some of them are labeled coronary dangerous, but one has to at least note them. The bar is friendly and totally accepting to all. Not a chain and worth every minute and dollar you spend there!!!

Dropped by since I was in the area. Upon entering I didn't get a warm fuzzy welcome from the hostess. She seemed as if something was really on her last nerve. But hey, we all have bad days right? Anyway, we get seated and out server K.T. was on point. She was FULL of energy. Has suggestions and was able to give her input on dishes we were curious about. She had a great rapport with other waitstaff and they obviously were a team. I had the Cuban and loved it. My wife got the grilled cheesy mofo. She felt her meat was overcooked. She really did enjoy her Pineapple beer however.

My boyfriend and I and my daughter were in town for the day. I came across this restaurant on yelp and was excited to try it. We got inside and there was a sign that said 21 and up only. Cool no big deal so we left and went outside. It was about 2:30pm on a Monday and only about 5 or 6 people at the restaurant. A server came out and told us we couldn’t eat there because my daughter was underage. I said even outside, she said yeah. So we had to leave, that was upsetting. I do plan to try this restaurant if I’m town again solo. I give one star because they could have at least offered us to order to go but they didn’t. We ended up at 5 guys booooo!!

I like how this place is 21+ only. We went during the day and it wasn't too busy. Food was good, drinks were okay. The service could have been a tad better, I feel like we were rushed out when there were only about 4 other tables in the restaurant at the time. Maybe we were breaking some of their rules (they have a lot) and that was the reason for the service we got, not sure. I would still go back.

Stopped in for apps and drinks before a comedy show at the on site comedy club. The food was delicious and the service was great!

My husband and I moved to Atlanta a little less than a year ago. My husband's favorite food are hamburgers. We have been trying them all over the city and finally we came across The Vortex. I had read about The Vortex on line and seeing that they have been recognized as having the best burgers, we decided to give them a try. We love that the restaurant is 21+ and the atmosphere is fun and different. I do not eat meat and I was so happy that they serve the Impossible burger and I like that I can get it any way that I wanted it. I chose to get it with blue cheese and it was absolutely delicious. My husband likes a plain burger, just the beef and buns and he said it was the best burger he has had so far in Atlanta. The fries are delicious and I love that they serve sweet plaintains too, they are my favorite. We are definitely fans of The Vortex and look forward to our next visit.

Great burgers at a good price. Always enjoy going here. Good food and fun atmosphere. Just different than other places. Always some good eye candy.

Stopped here for lunch on a Friday, and our hostess greeted us warmly and was very friendly (as was our waitress). The vibe is definitely different from what I've seen; lots of kinky decorations and skeletons. Keep in mind too that this place is for people 21 and over, and you'll get carded if you look under 21. I tried the Fat Elvis burger (patty with peanut butter, bacon, and fried plantains) with a side of voodoo chips. The burger was definitely interesting; though I may try something different if I ever come again, I'm glad I got to try something different.

I go to Atlanta once or twice a year, and make the time to go to the Vortex every trip without fail. I am all about trying new places but the Vortex is the best so I'm spoiled. There is a funky vibe that may turn some folks off, though I'm in my 60s and appreciate it. The beer selection is great are the wings and burgers (I always get the blue cheese). I get why some folks may not like it but if you enjoy earthy places you will love this joint.

First - you have to be 21 to enter. It’s a real bar that serves some upscale bar food - burgers and such. The burgers we ordered were excellent, but messy. It might not be the best place for a first date, but definitely a place that would be fun if you’re comfortable with each other a fun place. Lots of local beers. We were there early. Not sure how it gets later at night. Two people eating burgers and an appetizer , with a few drinks cost about $90

Every time we visit Atlanta, we say we will check out The Vortex... and we never do. Let’s be real, burger places are everywhere and they rarely live up to the hype. This trip, we made it and it was so worth it!!! We will be sure to make time for this on every trip to Atlanta now! Wow! Wow! Wow!!!

Terrible service including 'The Manager', it wasn't busy, empty tables, on a Sunday. Asked server for a mixed drink as a "starter", and a beer with my food, all up front so the server would know what to expect. Burgers arrived before any drinks, so they scrambled for my drinks. Drinks were just sitting at the bar, b/c the server was missing. I simply said I only want the beer then, NOPE. They refused to take the mixed drink back when I said I didn't want it because it arrived SO LATE (i dont need two drinks at the same time). They use their "disclaimers" as excuses for some of the worst service I've ever seen. The manager couldn't even carry intelligent conversation about the issue, she fully BLAMED ME. Said "I'm sorry you ordered 2 drinks". UNREAL. This place is so average (food and drinks) and way over hyped, basically Margaritaville. Tries so hard to be cool, but is just gimmicky. If you have a good experience, good for you, if you have any legitimate complaints, they will point to their "disclaimers" on the menu to EXCUSE the poor service and you will be able to do nothing. This happened on May 6 2024, 7 pm. I warned you.

From the minute you walk in, you know you are in a different type of place. The food names are ones you will share with your friends. If you go for the Double BYpass Coronary Burger, have the Doctors on notice. The wait staff will make your visit memorable.

Visited after the SEC championship game. One of the best burgers I have ever eaten!! Fried pickles are amazing as well!!

This is a really cool bar and restaurant! The wait was long, but we were there at peak hours and the food was WORTH THE WAIT! Everything was delicious and perfect to take your cholesterol to the next level! The place is very unique with a great atmosphere and VERY affordable! The drinks were great and under $10!

I knew it was adults only, but I’m not really sure what I expected. There are lots of pictures of half naked women and a ginormous wooden penis at the bar. If this sort of thing bothers you, you’ve been warned. All that aside, the food was great- we had burgers-the beer menu was very extensive and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Completely horrible service , came before closing sang said they were closed. Service outside was trash. Didn’t even give people a chance to get in and order food

Great food and great staff. You should go and eat some burgers. The place is ok and de food great. .

This place has good food and great service. The bar is amazing with a variety of cocktail choices. I definitely recommend this place!

We had a group of 11 dine for a weekday lunch. We all got burgers with a myriad of sides. I got the Kamana Awana Leia burger with a chipotle cream and pineapple pepper jelly. It was wonderfully sweet with a bit of heat and served on a Texas toast bun. The fries were not the greatest but the onion rings and plantains were delicious. We parked across the street for 12 freaking dollars but what else are you gonna do?

Juicy, flavourful burger (retro style, extra cheese!), and awesome potato salad - bacon bits are a great addition. Really nice atmosphere, even on a Monday night - buzzing, chatty, friendly. Loads of cool decor. Helpful staff. Large and interesting drinks menu, especially the beers. Could've stayed all night - will be back again!

We loved eating here!!!>. Sat at the bar. Great service. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and the history of the restaurant. The Vortex is a true icon of Atlanta. Great burgers and burger selection. Top notch appetizers. Had the mac & cheese with pork bites as the appetizer. Great BBQ sauce, best I have ever had, hands down. Big servings are a plus. Super atmosphere as well.

My husband and I absolutely loved the food here. We unanimously agree that The Vortex serves the best burgers we’ve ever had! It’s 21 and older to enter, even for just lunch, so leave the kiddos at home. The only reason I gave it a 4 and not a 5 was the smell. It reeked of smoke and smelled a little...off-putting? It obviously is a full blown bar at night that allows smoking, which is cool, but I didn’t expect that when we were recommended this place for lunch. And maybe I’m a pearl clutcher, but the risqué decor was also not my taste. However, I didn’t care while I was eating that delicious burger and funnel cake fries!

I am not local so I hear so much that I have to try it, true no minor at all, it is not a restaurant IT IS ACTUALLY A BAR WITH EXPENSIVE PRICE BURGERS, I could not stay because of my daughter being under 21, so we order to go. Be ready to pay for the great advertise Original burger $15.20 plus tax it was okay no bad however it was not exceptional. Also we tried the Tex melt more melt than Tex. Chili and the corn bread that comes with the chili exceptional (both). Overall pay for the experience to say we where in Atlanta and we "suck in the vortex"

These servers do not give "change" My bill was $11.43 Gave her $20.00 Change $8.57 Change I got $8.00 She kept .57. I KEPT HER TIP Nasty little thief HANNAH

I'd always heard about the burgers....and they did not disappoint. We had phenomenal service on a Saturday evening. The place was packed but the wait was worth it. I couldn't decide between two burgers and our waitress gave me a great recommendation based on my tastes. I hope to go back!

Fun place to be on New Years Eve. Very friendly atmosphere and great service. We watched the ball and peach drop from the television screens. Great for family and friends time.

I tried the double coronary bypass burger and WOW! This insane burger tasted great and was an enjoyable challenge. If you’re brave enough, try it out!

Get here early for a table. The food is good and so are the drinks. People can smoke in designated areas but as we all know the smoke doesn't stay in those areas it creeps out to where you are tryng to enjoy your food. The laughing skull is connected to it so you can eat and then go see a comedy show.

Stopped by for dinner and they had a wide variety of hamburgers. Very good place and had a lot of interesting things on the wall. Burgers were good and so was the atmosphere

This is an 18 and older restaurant with fun decor, delicious food, generous bar drinks, and a laid back, friendly atmosphere. We had wings & burgers and would highly recommend. My burger was the Fat Elvis with peanut butter, bacon & sweet plantains. Unbelievable! Oh and the potato salad, also delish.

Great burgers in a fun setting with a great server named Lucas. It was our first time there and since we are local, we will be back. The recommendations from Lucas were excellent and the other menu items were great as well. Hi

Great burgers. We split the coronary bypass burger, amazing! Great food, drinks, atmosphere! Visited both locations, but the one on Peachtree had the best atmosphere. Will be back when in Atlanta!

We loved the whole experience of Vortex. Great food, great drinks and cool vibe!! We had to go with the burgers since it was our first visit. We were not disappointed. Loved the tots and onion rings!!

Fantastic burgers, the best I’ve ever had. A great ambiance & decor. Always made to feel welcome. I’ve been lucky enough to go there every time I’ve been to not only Atlanta but the USA 🇺🇸.

"The Classic Bypass" - now here's a burger you'll never forget and possibly only eat once every month or so. It's heavy and topped with an egg (I am too chicken to order a "Coronary Bypass"), or the Black & Blue burger, my favorite. None better in town. It's a bit noisy at times, so move towards the back to your left. On weekends, or during the summer you may have to wait for a table.

Enjoyed a great burger with pimiento cheese and a side of perfectly crispy tater tots with my best friend on Galentine’s Day. My friend ordered the Fat Elvis burger (bacon, peanut butter, fried plantains and a juicy burger) with a side of funnel cake fries. Yep, funnel cake batter in the shape of fries sprinkled with powdered sugar. They were like dessert fries! Casual, friendly atmosphere and both locations are going smoke-free (finally), so I will be back more often!

The Vortex is the place to be in Atlanta! The food is amazing and the portions are large. The potatoe salad is to die for!! There is also a large selection of beers and shooters. I love this place !!!

Outstanding, unique choices. Had the blue shroom burger. Wasn’t disappointed. Great tater tots. Will go back.

Very nice. that night there was a "trivia night". it was funny. It is an entertaining place, ideal to go with friends and have a good time

There was a hair found in TWO seperate plates, a burger and then chicken rolls. It was longgggg. Being given FRINK vouchers while they cleared our plates, didn’t offer to replace the meal is wild and bad customer service. Meredith, your customer service skills are terrible for lack of better words. The entire experience was probably the worst I’ve had there, the entire experience. Will definitely reconsider the hour drive next time.

Rather than getting a burger, I decided to order the Cubano sandwich when I visited The Vortex for dinner. My friend and I seated ourselves as the place was not crowded, and we were promptly greeting by our server who took drink orders. My friend ordered a burger and he was not disappointed though he did leave some but finished all the fries. I've had Cuban sandwiches before, but this one was different. It had ham slices, but I didn't find sliced pork or cheese at all. The ham slices were layered on what I think were sautéed onions and while good - tasted a bit strange. The bread was nice and toasted, but this was not like other Cuban sandwiches I've had in Atlanta and elsewhere. It just didn't seem complete. My friends drink order didn't work out. The server came back to let him know they didn't have all the ingredients for what he wanted, so he substituted. By the time we finished, the place was filled with customers so it's obviously a popular place. Should I return, I'll go back to the burgers.

Very fun restaurant/bar for adults. I had the vortex cheeseburger which was excellent. A friend recommended the tater tots. I didn’t know tots could taste that good. I wasn’t brave enough to try any of the coronary bypass burgers.

I’ve been told by friends who live in “The ATL” to visit this restaurant and comedy club in Midtown called “The Vortex” Grill. My original plan was to visit in May, 2020 following “Furry Weekend Atlanta” (FWA) nearby at Atlanta Marriott Marquis. Well, Corona... Now, fast forward to May 9th, 2021 - my friend and “yours truly” finally got to visit “The Vortex” for a great dinner. Boy, what a place!! Great artwork, a nice selection of 90’s Rock that brought me back to my undergrad years. My friend and I had their “Bad Ass” Buffalo Wings with the “Standard Buffalo” sauce (I decided NOT to try their “Atomic Death” sauce as I had Zaxby’s INSANE wings a few days back, and that was a muthaf@&$er!!) It was a safe bet, and the wings worked out well. For the main entree, I had their “Lone Star Tex Melt” - a 1/2 beef patty with cheese, honey spicy BBQ sauce and onion rings on Texas Toast (not quite a patty melt, but close enough.) Our server was Kate, who was very friendly and service prompt. I liked it, and I hope to return in 2022, maybe with more Furries. FOUR CLAWS UP!!!! Gay friendly. Thanks for reading my review of “The Vortex” in Midtown Atlanta. Joe G. Bear - Redondo Beach, CA

This Bar+Grill came with a few surprises. I assumed it was like any other bar and grill. We were carded as we walked in which is fine but I was confused since we didn’t sit in the bar area. I didn’t see that it is 21+. Once we were seated by the extremely rude and almost hostile host it became apparent why it is 21+. There are explicit paintings and carvings throughout the establishment. This would not have bothered me if the food was good. I felt like it was standard bar fare that did not warrant a $12 price tag for a burger. The experience was overall unpleasant. If you are into a very alternative atmosphere and sub par food then this is your place.

BLUE ‘SHROOM at The Vortex, in this place, very well attended I got one of the best local beers “sweet waters” and the delicious Blue shroom burger, the menu describe it exactly like it is: "Topped with our delicious, mind-expanding blue cheese spread, sautéed mushrooms, and bacon. It’s so tasty you might actually see God". On the side "Tater Tots", fries from another dimension...

The burger selection was great! So many to choose from and lots more. The atmosphere it great. I would recommend looking at their website for expectations. Since it's a "bar" you have to be 21 and the bar allows smoking. That was the only negative part. I would highly recommend!

The Vortex in Midtown is a fun place to go to eat with friends! It is 21+ to get in which is nice if you’re looking for an all adult place. We went with some friends recently and this was our first time. The food is very good and the drinks are delicious!! I recommend the Lone Star Tex Melt with tater tots for an entree. It was very tasty! The Skullcrusher and Off the Deep End were amazing drinks that were well worth the price. The portions are very generous and you will not leave hungry. I only gave this review 4 stars because of the service. I know everyone has bad nights but our service was on the terrible side. It took 30 minutes for our server to greet us at the table and then it was another 40 minutes until she actually took our food order. We were seated right away and the restaurant was not super crowded. She never asked if we wanted more drinks or water and we had to ask another waitress if we could order more drinks. We also had to ask someone else for our check when we were finished. However, even though we had a glitch in service I would definitely revisit this place!! I recommend it for those who want a good burger with many options to choose from! Super delicious!

Amazingly quirky place with a cool vibe. Excellent for weekend drinks. Didn’t have the food, but it did look good coming out. Great staff !

Came here while on quick business trip. Was solo so I sat at the bar, and ordered the Lone Star melt. It was large, quite messy (had to put the onion rings on the side) but quite delicious! Very tasty burger combined with Catawba Vanilla Porter (or something along those lines). Right in the heart of midtown, good location. I would come here again.

Walk in and just check out the decor. Very cool stuff. Great, unique atmosphere. I have always wanted to try other sandwiches but I always go with a burger. It is just so good its hard to pass up. Service was good, our server was very attentive and orders were accurate.

I really wanted to love this place. I was so excited about the other reviews and the pics of the food looked great. When we arrived it took a good amount of time for us to get service as the bartender was more interested in her phone. When we did get her attention she was all bubbly and smiley, but oblivious to the fact that numerous customers at the bar were in need of service. We ended up getting wings and the disco tots which were good, but nothing special. When we were ready to go, we had to again wait for our friend to put her phone down before getting the bill. Maybe we came on the wrong day, and maybe we should have gotten the burgers. Oh well, next time maybe.

I love hamburgers and am pretty picky about what I like. I had read reviews about The Vortex before I visited Atlanta and checked out the menu. Decided I had to visit and I did the first night I got to my hotel. We went around 1030 pm, it was walking distance from our hotel (The Loews) and were seated right away. We ordered nachos and they were good and pleasantly spicy. We ordered two different burgers, cooked at different levels of done, and they were fantastic. This was maybe one of the best hamburgers I've ever had. I would highly recommend it. The only negative for me was that they allow smoking inside. This obviously wasn't a deal breaker and they advise you of it right on the menu, so if you don't like it, don't go there. The food was worth it and I would go again.

The Vortex has the best burger hands down!! The atmosphere was great and our waitress was very nice. I ordered the Freaky Tiki and it was awesome. It’s topped with grilled ham, pineapple salsa, bacon and jack cheese. I was hesitant to order because I don’t like spicy foods, but this wasn’t spicy at all. The pineapple salsa and ham are the perfect combination. I can’t wait to go back and try other burgers!

Visited on the recommendation of a hotel staffer. Once in,you are greeted by a three foot phallus, and from that point on the place gets even more interesting. Wait staff is "interesting", ambiance is even more so. Drinks are inexpensive and food (burgers) were excellent. Overall, definitely worth a visit. Must be 21 and over to enter.

My girlfriend and I were in town for the bowl festivities of New Year’s weekend. We got here around 5:30 on Friday. There wasn’t much of a wait. The burgers were great. Cooked exactly how we asked. The local (especially house special) beers were great. Check out the house rules on the menu for a chuckle. It’s a place that doesn’t take itself too seriously...and neither should you once you’re inside. Walk in expecting a bar with food rather than a restaurant with a bar and you will be ok. Leave those sticks up your butts at the door and have a great time.

You ca't go wrong with their Burger and Fries and you have a lot of variety with add-ons. Very fresh and delicious. The prices were great. If you're over 40 you might not like the loud music (but young people love that) - the only reason I gave it a 4.

This is a must do for all out of town era to Atlanta. The atmosphere is eclectic, the music is great (if you were in college in the late 90’s, early 2000’s), food was amazing and the wait staff are great! The menu is hilarious and very extensive, including their huge drink menu! The muthacluckin chicken appetizer is AMAZING! And the funnel cake fries are so goood. Highly suggest both! And be brave and try the $3 mystery shot.

Based on reviews I had to give this place a try. It is a different kind of place. The burger was very good. They allow smoking in the restaurant which knocks it to a lower review than it would otherwise get.

We really enjoyed the food but could have done without the scantly dressed women on the walls and a large penis you are encouraged to rub for good luck. 😳 There was no need for all the sexual innuendos because they can stand firmly on their wonderful food and service. We had the cheese curds (Balls O’ Glory), the mac and cheese chimichanga, and a blue shroom burger that were exceptional and filling. With a soda and the above food, our bill with a 20% tip was just $39.00. I’d suggest sharing because the portions are huge.

It was the worst service I have ever seen! They refused to serve me food although I got there a couple of minutes before the kitchen closed... and they were so grump!!!! Go Corner Tarver or Porter Pub! They are waaaaaay better and nicer!!

I tried this place twice and I enjoyed both times. the food portions are big and it's really good. the 2nd time I went was on a Saturday night and our server was a little odd, she was on a slow motion the whole time. I still enjoyed my visit though.

Incredibly creative menu and a fun atmosphere. Wish I lived closer so I could go back time and time again because so many things on the menu look incredible. If you're only eating one place in Atlanta, it should be here.

The very peculiar iconic place, the most delicious burger I have ever eaten in my life!! Big enough to fill you up, the beers are delicious... lots of variety. The incredible place and the fast and friendly service

The Vortex is always a must when I visit Atlanta. I love a good, over the top burger and this is place to get one. They have plenty to choose from.

Dark decoration and rock themed…I highly recommend the holy guacamole burger and the house draft beer (Amber Ale)

I had seen this place years ago on a travel channel show called Burger paradise. Then after seeing it again on Triple D( Diners, drive-ins and dives). I said next time I go to Atlanta this would be my first stop! This is not the location I saw on the show. That one has the big skull at the front door. My wife and I were in Town with another couple for the Ed Sheeren tour at Mercedes-Benz stadium. First thing I noticed is this is not a place for kids, which is fine. An ID is required at the door. You find out why once inside. The decor is rather sexually charged, which doesn’t bother me. Actually great for conversation! We were seated at a high top table near the bar area. It was a late lunch for us, about 2pm. The ladies ordered from the extensive drink menu. My buddy is a Jack and Coke man. I ordered a beer. Diving into the menu they everything under the sun! I went with the Pickle Rick. Fried pickles and pimento cheese . The food came out fast! It looked and smelled fantastic! It truly was the best burger I’ve ever had. The meat was unlike anything I’d ever had! The service was impeccable, the value and experience first rate! I would highly recommend to anyone with a adventurous spirit! We shall return.

After checking the menu I thought I needed to see The Vortex. Specializing in burgers they cornered the unique in all types. The largest is a 4 Coronary Burger selections from under $13 to over $70. Massive burger for a great challenge. The atmosphere is young, fast, party, and Wow! I had the Zombie Apocalypse Burger. My wife had the mushroom and Swiss burger. All were absolutely perfect. The parking is pay if you want to eat then walk around town. If you tell him you are eating only then it is free. The area looks to be punk, retro community. A very happening place at night. The skull entrance adds to the mystery of what to expect on the inside. It is a 21 and over bar and restaurant so no children. Expect a wait. We were seated in a half hour with a full restautant.

Excellent burgers cooked to order. I was there in a Thursday night and the place was popping. The beer selection is great and the servers were very pleasant.

A fascinating place with great interior details and very friendly staff. Visited on a sunday afternoon and the place was buzzing with life and it was a busy and great atmosphere. Excellent service from the staff and good drinks (visited only for drinks). Recommended!

My brother and sister in law took me here on my recent trip. The menu is great! Not to spoil it for you but it's a must read and tells some home truths we wish we could say. The waitress was friendly, attentive and offered suggestions when I didn't know which way to turn. The burger and tater tots were delicious. You've got to go!

We were recommended this place by a local and it did NOT disappoint. It was a funky 21+ bar with burgers that were out of this world. My hubby had a Mac and cheese burger and I had Bleu cheese, bacon and mushroom burger. SO much to choose from. But the person raved about the burgers so we HAD to try it! And they were NOT wrong! Give this place a try!

We saw this place on Man vs. Food years and years ago so when we were in Atlanta we definitely wanted to try it. We shared the Coronary Bypass burger and still nearly died, so go easy on the ordering! The staff were efficient and friendly, clean bathrooms and the burger was delicious! It's not an every day restaurant, definitely a treat meal!

After a nearby football game, we stopped by an old favorite for drinks and burgers. As always, the service was top notch and the food was superb. I ordered the Four Horseman. Don’t be afraid of the horseradish sauce - it’s outstanding on the burger and those delicious skinny fries. The bar menu is extensive. My party enjoyed the beer flight, as well as wine and mixed drinks. There’s something for everyone - as long as everyone is 21. It *is* a bar, after all. FYI - smoking is also allowed on premise. It’s not terrible; we barely noticed.

The food was of course wonderful from the burgers to the sides to the beer selection. The interior decor and style was a bit crude so maybe not ideal for observant kids but it was a fun place overall.

Hubby and i Stopped in for some drinks and it was so much fun. Our bartender Egan was hilarious and made some delicious yet strong drinks. We also enjoyed the Mystery Shots served in Medicine Cups.

I have been to one in little 5 points and loved it and I love this one too! These burger joints are one of a kind! Very unique atmosphere great food! I had the Pickle Rick burger topped with fried pickles, whiskey pimento cheese, bacon and house-made Szechuan sauce. It was delicious tots and potato salad are the bomb also!

Stopped by after a night at the Fox. Decided to pop in for some munchies. We had planned on sharing a burger but when we saw the Cheesy MoFo with tater tots, we had to have it. It was amazing. Only downside to this place is the smoke.

Staff not so nice, in interior design is averige. Delicious burgers worth trying. A great selection of beers.

Anytime that my wife and I desire a great burger we head to the Vortex. Two locations in Atlanta with a very consistent food and service provided. Last minute yesterday we decided on a burger. Our choice.... The Vortex. Great food and beverage deals!

My bf and I got a single coronary and cut it in half and let me tell you!!! This burger was breakfast, lunch and dinner on a bun! Flavorful, filling and just damn good! And the tatertots ...heaven!! Worth all the calories (and it was a lot of them)!!

Went for dinner after a trip to the aquarium. I had the Impossible Burger and it was cooked perfectly. Great food, drinks, and atmosphere. Would def go back when in ATL.

The holy guacamole burger was phenomenal. Wife had the plain butger decorated to her taste. Fries, tots and fried pickles were perfect

This place rocks from the moment you walk in the door. We were in ATL for a convention and thanks to a local found our way here on a Friday night. It was packed but we actually lucked into a table after only 15 minutes. Great menu with lots of oddball food choices mostly in the pub grub line. But each item seems to have some twist to it that makes just reading the menu fun. That is if you can stop looking around at all the kitschy decor. Ok, the most outrageous thing ( except for maybe the wood carving when you enter) is the coronary bypass burger which contains 10 slices of cheese, 9 strips of bacon, 12 oz of sirloin, 4 slices of Texas toast, a 1/2 cup of mayo surrounded by more fries and tator tots than is prudent. But hey, what the heck, leave prudence at the door! The service was great considering how busy they were, and the beer and whiskey selection is top notch.

Terrible service, didn’t get get some of our food. Food came before our drinks. Don’t waste time unless you just want to say you went.

The place is a must if you are visiting Atlanta.Staff, food , ambience is very good. Crowd is also very nice. Popular among locals and visiting tourists.

First, the atmosphere. It's a no-nonsense place for adults. There is smoking allowed in certain parts of the restaurant/bar, so if you want to avoid that, I suggest going at off hours as you will hardly notice it. Late night is different. But the service has been great and the food is fantastic. I've had three of the burgers there and I loved them all. Even the "Fat Elvis" which has peanut butter, plantains, and bacon. The Four Horseman is my favorite. For such great food right in downtown the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend it.

This is a 21+ bar/ restaurant. They ask for your ID when you enter. It was not obvious for me why. No strange or rough behaviour when I was there. They serve good and strong alcoholic drinks, and have lots of good comfort food on their menu. Waitress was friendly and efficient.

Very delicious burger with thick beef patty. I enjoyed the Swiss Mushroom Burger, stringy cheese with that mushroom taste and beefy flavor. The hamburger bun got soaked and eventually disintegrated so it was mess. Tater tots are amazingly yummy with crunchy outer shell. Definitely not a family restaurant, so ignore that phallic sculpture as you enter.

Really bad customer service! The server was super nice but the manager was not!!! DO NOOOOOOOT order an old fashioned. It tastes like water down whiskey!!!! And they didn’t want to take back the drink even though I only took a sip to try it. It’s Atlanta. Drinks should taste good!!!

This place is extremely unique. Eclectic and a little grungy is what I would describe the interior. The staff is super nice and helpful (shout out to bar tender Arty) and the crowd is super nice and there to have good food, or drink, or both! I came in this past Wednesday around 7p and it was super packed. Luckily I found a spot at the bar. I ordered the Lone Star Texas Melt and was blown away. Most of the time when I am recommended a “burger joint” I usually find them over rated but my food was out of this world. My burger was big, flavorful, and juicy. The Texas toast was really awesome as the “bun”. I had tots as a side but I really didn’t need it. As for the drinks, they are strong and pretty affordable. I almost went back on Thursday but I got tied up at work so I couldn’t make it, but let me say this- I WILL BE BACK to this establishment as soon as I get back to Atlanta. Thanks Arty & staff @ The Vortex Midtown.

One of the top three burgers in Atlanta. It’s a good burger - very good - and the tots are always good. Here’s the thing Vortex is an adult bar - not sex - but smoking and adult beverages - so it’s an experience. The burger is worth the crowd but it’s not a “family” restaurant. Parking on Peachtree Street is available but not free.

Boy have I been missing out.. finally after living outside of Atlanta for 12 years. I made it to the Vortex for a girls day trip in town. We had so much fun the food was great, the drinks were great, and service was great. I think we ended up staying for like 5 hours. Definitely a must if your in the area. Be warned though 21 and up to get in even if just eating.

My buddy wanted to meet here to catch up and obviously give me a surprise, I found the very adult theme refreshing and fun , I was laughing to notice a large wooden phallus inside the door entrance, but overall burger and SW egg rolls were awesom

You can’t get a better burger and tater tots anywhere in Atlanta!! Great service too! Great vibe in the restaurant!
Awesome!!!
Great burgers and drink selection! Short wait, and well worth it! Highly recommend the atomic death sauce. Best meal I’ve ever had when visiting Atlanta!
