This is one of those order at a counter, pay and receive your food afterwards places that expects you too tip before you have your meal. The tip options are 18, 20 and 22% unless you want to enter a custom amount. Every time I visit a place like this I wonder if the owners tip at McDonald, Popeye or Taco Bell locations since it's the same business model. The food was okay- I had the beef tacos and they were tasty although a poor value at $18 for three very small tacos. My wife had the Spinach Pesto Pasta with a side of Chicken which she also enjoyed but at $19 + $14= $33 was even more overpriced than my tacos. Service was as expected virtually non-existent which fit's the fast food business model they have chosen to employ. I won't visit again.

Despite having a reservation to sit outside, we were told on arrival that they had overbooked and we had to sit inside, where awful music was blaring. Our requests to have it lowered were rebuffed, so we asked again about outside, where we were finally (and reluctantly, it seems) seated on a couch although there were empty tables that remained empty throughout our stay. Even with all the street noise, we could hear ourselves talk, which was impossible inside. The food and service were both good, though we were urged to accept our check rather than asked if we wanted dessert. We beat a hasty, and definitive, retreat.

VERY very cute atmosphere. Upscale, but modern feel. Healthier food options. They did have some gluten free options. Do expect the food to be on the pricier side. My husband eats larger portions and wasn't able to fill up without too high of a cost. But would be cute for a date or for a cute outing with girlfriends!

Made reservation. Requested highchair for child & was told on arrival, all we can give you is a Hi Top Table. Hostess indicated they gave our table away.

Good ambition on the vegan and vegetarian menu. Staff was good and friendly. I’ve had much better veggie food but the location was nice. Would say they have a really good ambition for this place. Great prices and location.

Our server Aurora was great. The food was so good. Get the mimosa flight for sure, you won't regret it. We highly recommend.

Great dinner. Service was excellent as was the food. My wife had the butternut squash which she loved. We split a delicious side of Brussels sprouts and I thoroughly enjoyed my mushroom mole. Never had something like it. Baked apple for dessert was also good - not your typical baked apple. Definitely worth coming here.

I had breakfast at The Well and everything was delicious. Their Chia is outstanding. The best I’ve ever had, and I’ve had it from NYC to LA.

Wow! Love everything about this place! Great location, lovely ambiance, amazing service, exceptional food! I am visiting from out of town and I eat extremely clean, so I googled places to go that are healthy. Much to my delight, I found The Well! They do not use any seed oils and have all organic, locally sourced food! Connor was my bartender last night and he was great! I sat at the bar and I ordered the 6 oz salmon last night for dinner along with the Brussels sprouts and the street corn. The salmon and Brussels sprouts were fantastic! The corn was good, but not my favorite. A little too much cilantro I think was the issue, but I still ate most of it ha ha. Bummed they were out of the organic apple crisp, but ordered the Golden Milk Ice cream instead …which was AMAZING! Highly recommend. Today I went back for lunch and to work from the bar area and Rena (not sure of spelling- sorry if I messed it up) was so sweet and attentive. Today I ordered the green tea, Texas Waygu Steak Asada Tacos and the salmon tartare. All were very good! This time, for dessert, I ordered the Avocado Mousse because I was very intrigued! I was pleasantly surprised, and Rena let me take a pic of the ingredients. I definitely want to try to make this at home. Overall, one of my new favorites in Austin. I visit often as I have family and friends here and will be back! Highly recommend!

The guacamole blew us away- strawberries was an unexpected culinary yum! The vegan Caesar salad was great but watch the crunchy chick peas. We thought we could have easily cracked a tooth. The mushroom tacos were amazing!! The buffalo tacos were Very spicy! Atmosphere beautiful but dark staff friendly and accommodating

Unwelcoming and beyond rude. Hostess needs retraining, and fast. We ate there 3 days in a row, and experience with the hostess was worse each visit. Not a good look, especially when as tourists we found Austin extremely friendly.

pros: atmosphere beautiful, some of the food was really good, welcoming hostess, wait staff friendly but not very knowledgeable on menu or alcohol choices Guacamole and Waygu highly recommended cons: 1. one diner's food brought out significantly earlier than other diners 2. one diner's food contained errant hot pepper(per the kitchen with an apology, saying it should have been a red sweet pepper)(think scotch bonnet), making it inedible 3. brought out a second order of inedible meal minus hot pepper and the sauce after all other diners had finished their meal 4. also ordered a meal to go....had to ask for it several times even after paying the bill

The Well is a beautiful gem in downtown Austin. We enjoyed fabulous colorful cocktails. The ceviche and guacamole were yummy. The Striped bass and salmon were beautifully plated and delicious. Our server was very attentive and had great recommendations. We had a lovely time celebrating a Birthday! Highly recommend.

Had lettuce wraps during happy hour and a taco flight. The food was phenomenal and allergy friendly. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options available and very health conscious while not sacrificing taste.

As someone who loves food but has many allergens, this restaurant is extremely ingredient health conscious. From amazing smoothies, to fresh juices to grain free tortillas made from cassava, I am in love with The Well. I eat here every time I visit Austin. It is a must if you are health conscious but love to eat great food! The Well does an exceptional job!

We have eaten at this dedicated GF restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. The service is always good and the food is amazing. Tonight, we had dinner on their dog friendly patio. They use avocado oil for many of their meals, and they were able to easily accommodate my avocado allergy. We had the Thai Lettuce Wraps with chicken, Spinach Pesto Pasta, Apple Crumble, and mimosa flight. Delicious!!!

We were a party of 8, enjoyed the sushi salmon and quac apps (both small), 3 had the tacos, and rest had the steak, chicken and butternut squash. The greens with the steak, beef broth soup, the butternut squash and the chicken were very salty. The chicken was not edible by some of us. I hope the chef cuts back, but just in case, if you are watching your sodium intake, please let them know when you order. We had someone in our group who is allergic to gluten, egg, dairy and soy and they were great working with her requests.

This is a first rate downtown restaurant with a fun vibe. It is in a large and attractive setting. All of the food is gluten free, and there are many vegetarian choices. Our food was terrific, and the cocktails were quite good too. Service was friendly and pretty quick.

In Austin for the first time for my sweet baby's birthday and craving some delicious gluten-free food! Thursday afternoon seating was easy, and we had a great spot outside quick. We had the tacos and they were super yummy. Paired with some Tito's and we left feeling great. Heading back tomorrow for breakfast.

Delicious and nutritious! I want to be health conscious but I also want my food to taste yummy and this spot has you covered. We had the kale and lentil salad with butternut squash and medjool dates, vegan Caesar, chickpea falafel with kimchi radishes, and rosemary and nutritional yeast roasted purple potatoes. Table next to us had the steak tacos and they looked great. They have health drinks, and a small list of fun wines, with many offered by the glass. The staff was great, and the space is great. I recommend this as a great place to meet for lunch.
Great Healthy Dinner Spot!
We had just flown into town and decided to try The Well for dinner. Simply put, the food, ambiance and service were outstanding! At first I wasn’t sure what to expect. I didn’t make the choice and it is a spot known for its healthy meals and concisions nourishment. Those are hit and miss for me. However, everything I tasted and ate here was bursting with flavor and absolutely delicious! The food was so good I told my family I could lick my plate, seriously. Next time you’re in Austin give this place a try, amazing experience!
