Ok

Over rated. The looks are perfect, but the taste is average. I've had better ice cream/milkshakes than this, but try it and write your review.

They do NOT want paying customers at this place. Taatee/Taaty was very rude.

By Bobby-Jerry |

The person behind the counter (Taatee or Taaty) completely ignored us, as of we didn’t exist. Refused to look at us, refused to talk to us, and refused to serve us. They don’t want customers at this place.

Milkshakes are good

By Sue F |

Prices are pretty high here. The milk shake was one of the best if not the best that I’ve ever had. Online on their website they have a “secret” menu listed. When I ordered off of that the cashier didn’t know what I was talking about and I ultimately did not get what I wanted —which is listed on their site. It was a little strange the workers were standing outside with gloves on and then coming back in without changing their gloves too…

Family Getaway

Wow! My daughter has been begging to visit The Yard, so we finally did and it didn’t disappoint. She got Cereal Killer and she loved it!

Good but messy!

By Surlecn |

Great ice cream.; it tasted rich and decadent. Toppings are really good. Cleaning up the jar was a bit messy and challenging. The atmosphere was cute.

Overpriced with low quality ingredients

By brandasa |

I was really looking forward to this. The line can get quite long. They look amazing! However, the taste is not good. The cheesecake On top is cheap Costco like cheesecake. The ice cream is low quality - not good natural flavorings at all. I have a serious sweet tooth and I don’t remember the last time I didn’t finish a dessert. This was such low quality I threw out almost half of the ice cream and the majority of the cheesecake. My husband tossed half of his too. So disappointed. We honestly lamented that we didn’t just go to Johnny rockets around the corner

Worth a splurge

Yum! The Yard has a bazillion kinds of ice cream! The milkshakes looked more like sundaes with all the toppings and extras. I only wanted a little scoop and they provided that as well. Indoor and outdoor seating were available. Only lost a star because it was pretty expensive for what you got, but I suppose that’s expected in a major tourist area. Nice stop to take a break.

Tasty and friendly

After an afternoon of exploring downtown Atlanta, we popped into The Yard to cool off with milkshakes. First, I love the vibe of the place. The staff was welcoming and explained the menu since it was our first time. My daughter had the unicorn and I had the cookie butter. She was entranced with her fun design, but it was quite big, so she couldn’t finish it. The cookie butter was one of the best shakes I’ve ever had! So delicious. They are cash free, so be sure to have a card or other digital pay system ready. 10/10 will be back.

Yummy

We went here after dinner. Nice place, big selection. A little pricey but you get a lot. It’s $20 for the mason jar with ice cream. Nice experience. If you’re in the area stop in.

Cold and yummy!

Delicious! Very nice selection. Worth every dollar! Shake, sundae, whatever your liking is, this place has you covered. Perfect after a walk around the city!

OMG

A bit expensive but oh my goodness, oh so good. I dont mind spending money if the product is worth it!!! Just overwhelming!!! Did have to wait, not a big spot but there is some outside seating. A must try at least once!!!

Yummy for your tummy!

Great selection of ice cream. We all got the regular shake. The pint size was just right. The service was good. No cash though, only cards. The prices were a little on the high side.

Fabulous Creations

By clcline2016 |

All of the creations are works of art. Beyond that this is the best ice cream I have ever tasted. Go mid afternoon to avoid the line.

Yum!!

Worth the mile walk from our condo! It was so unique and really yummy! We had the cookie dough sundae and it was amazing! The only thing I didn’t love was that the chocolate chips on the side of the glass were completely stuck and basically inedible. However, I would definitely go back! So tasty!

Only for Instagram, Not for Your Taste Buds

By Richard M |

If you want massive milkshakes that look great on Instagram, the Yard Milkshake Bar is the place of you. But if you want quality ice cream, go elsewhere. Their milkshakes are huge and look positively delectable, but quality-wise they’re iffy. They are made with Blue Bell Ice Cream so it’s “store-bought” quality. Easy to be replicated at home with accessible store-bought ingredients. In other words, nothing special. I was expecting a memorable experience and was sorely disappointed.

Not Worth The Hype

By BelaN74 |

I checked out their instagram before my trip to Atlanta. I was so excited to try this place. I order the Strawberries and Cream bowl because nobody should be a eating the jar all by themselves. Even the bowl was a lot. But a lot of whip cream. Really now. It was 3/4 whip cream, hardly any ice cream. Then the price of cheesecake was small and frozen. Why is it frozen? Very disappointing. Would not return, doesn’t matter how good they look. Plus super expensive for what you get.

Complete waste of time

By Ron C |

We allied in about 9:45, notice they close at 10:30. We were told they couldn’t do milkshakes since it’s almost closing time. I’d this is company policy,’shame on you. But it feels like lazy employees not wanting to wash dishes. Our sundae came out in a jar, sitting inside a cup, making it impossible to eat. Completely ruined the experience

Fun food!

Great food. Fun to eat and watch them make more orders. Just so people know, the bathroom code is on your receipt! Don’t throw it away!

Epic milkshakes

I stopped during my trip in Atlanta, where there are lots of options, I decided to go with a butterfinger cheesecake milkshake. It was so good, I wished I had more time to grab another before I left.

Turned away

By smilinjgirl01 |

I’ve always heard this was popular place for milkshakes. I was prepared to wait in a line. What I was not prepared for was to pay for parking directly across the street. Future patrons know you will need to pay for parking unless you happened to be in a parking garage included with an overnight stay. Did not get to try the product as I was turned away to use the bathroom. I was told I had to get a bathroom code that’s on the bottom of a receipt. I had a urgent bathroom matter as I have a medical condition. I had no problem purchasing a product but needed to use the restroom ASAP. Let me reiterate that we were in the line but it was so extremely long we thought we could use the restroom as we waited in line. Incorrect. Sadly, I will not be back as this was once in a lifetime last visit on our Georgia to do list before moving away 700 miles. This was a very disheartening experience not be allowed to use the restroom. If your establishment is so popular you need to reconsider operations procedures. There are medical conditions that require the use of the restroom and sometimes waiting prolonged is not in the best interests. So sad I will never experience this place with my family.

No parking

There was no parking due to an event at the stadium. Make sure you check what’s going on I the area before going to this location .

Not Worth It

By Polaroids & Drinkin Stories |

The pics on the site looked insane and I was staying a block away so I decided to try it. I went on a Friday around 8p. A line formed but it moved fairly quick. You enter and order at cashier and then they bring it out to you. I got mine To Go and they had me wait outside. I ordered the Old Banana Split milkshake. OK so was it good? Yeah. Was it worth $16? No way. It’s a milkshake that’s no better than what you’ve had in other places. The presentation is what you’re paying for. And I guess a small mason jar souvenir. You’ll probably regret paying so much for this.

This place was a little slice of heaven. The lines was long and service was not the fastest thing but it was worth the wait.

A Must Visit

By themidwestmillennial |

When looking for places to check out in Downtown Atlanta I recognized the name of this place from Shark Tank and knew I had to go! It was amazing, super friendly service, everything is prepared quickly and tastes amazing. I had the Birthday Cake milkshake in the souvenir mason jar that I got to take home. They have a washing station in the building to rinse the jar off before taking it home and bags to put it in as well. My only heads up for anyone going is that this is a super popular place with limited space inside. We did wait outside in line in the heat for quite a bit to get in before we could order. It was not a big deal at all but just a heads up you may be standing outside for 30 minutes or more in the heat! Overall, highly recommend going here!!

What a cute ice cream shop!

By Antonia B |

My Lyft driver recommended this place to me and I'm glad I went. Their menu is extreme and over the top but it's a unique experience and there's something for everyone. I was thoroughly overwhelmed by all my choices and the staff kindly helped me and explained all of my options. I ordered the Churr' All I Need in a bowl. It took a bit of time to come out -- maybe 10 minutes, I almost thought I was forgotten -- but I attribute that to the warm churros. The seating area was clean and nicely decorated. The ice cream itself was decadent and a lot for one person. It wasn't the best ice cream sundae or dessert I've ever had but I think it was worth the experience.

Scrumptious

By AliJL |

Before we came to ATL, all my friends had told me about this place. It looked too delicious on the web to believe that they could recreate any of them if we got to it. We decided to try it and loved their ice cream! The kids shared a gorgeous cheesecake creation, which was quickly devoured. Make sure you come hungry or be willing to share! And yes, as we watched the staff bring out order after order, they all looked amazing!

Good for a picture

We went to the Yard for a birthday milkshake for our daughter. The service was great and the milkshake was as to be expected. I would recommend for a serviceable dessert but more pictureworthy than tasty.

Tazia and Metri are the bomb! We came with a LARGE group of us on a Tuesday night when only the two of them were working. We loved their service and the ice cream. Yum!

Over the Top!!! (In a good way)

These shakes are amazing!! What a sugar rush!!! They are a little costly but they let you take the glass home with the price, so not that bad. The staff is so patient and helpful when trying to choose. Can't wait till they come to Phoenix

Definite Tourist Spot, with Less than Superb Service.

By Courtney R |

Definite Tourist Spot, with less than superb service. The manager will not be shocked in seeing this, as I communicated to her that I would just leave a review based on the experience. Being a tourist spot, they have fun creations with average ingredients. Customers are herded through the line like cattle. There are several rules that they state, yet do not follow. Even when you show your receipt that you placed your order for “here,” that does not guarantee that you get an OPEN table inside or out. We were told that someone said that our party of 6 was a “to-go” order; it was not. Even when telling the staff that was incorrect and in standing in front of several open tables, we were told to go outside, after spending $120 on ice cream for 6 people. We obliged the request, went outside and sat at a picnic table. We waited for the creations, they were delivered and we had eaten not quite 1/2 of each of our treats. While enjoying the treats, we were approached and old that we needed to move to another table and that it was reserved. Reminder: we were served and eating. We once again obliged, but with much irritation. In seeing the irritation, the manager engaged communications with our party. In concluding that conversation, one of her staff completed cleaning the table and looked at a group of people in the line OUTSIDE, who had not yet even entered the building, that their table was ready. It was sternly told to the manager, it is that type of treatment that had us upset. She said that we could have the table…but at that point, there was no need to have our elderly parents and children come back; we just needed to walk away, in which we did. All in all, to sum up the experience, good chance that you will spend over $100 and eat your ice cream in an alley way. There is great room for improvement with the staff at this location. Even in not going to the Buckhead location…try that one, in hopes that it won’t be a bust like our overpriced deflating experience.
