Good soul food

By alphantinah |

I always get the salmon. So delicious. The vegetables are always good and fresh. The Peach Punch is the best!! You have to try it.

Mediocre BBQ

By Anthony L |

This restaurant was recommended to us by someone at our hotel. Goes to prove recommendations are not always good. This was no exception. We both ordered St Louis Ribs and sides and the whole meal was so-so. Service was good and the staff was friendly but the food was not enjoyable. We would not return.

Good soul food!

By MrsKB |

Great atmosphere and service. Although there was a discrepancy with the food being take out or dine in, the food was hot and very tasty. Will return & recommend.

Oh my word!

By Lynn S |

We were tourist in the area and just happened to be out looking for a bite to eat. My husband loves barbecue and tends to be very critical when it comes to barbecue food. We passed it and decided to turn around and give it a try. All four of us absolutely loved it. I think it was one of the owners (looked like one of the guys on the cup) came over to ask us how our food was. My husband just about begged him to come to Florida to open a restaurant. If you go you must try the peach drink. The owner recommended it and we were all skeptical. None of us are peach people. We were hooked. It was delicious. The service is the best ever. I was a little confused because you order at a counter, but there was a waitress walking around making sure everybody had what they needed. Now that's southern hospitality. If we lived in Atlanta we would be regulars for sure. We visit Atlanta every year, and this will be a regular stop for us.

Below average BBQ

By Peter892002 |

Did not meet the standard of the self congratulatory posters on the walls. Notably did I did not see anything from the AJC. The pork ribs and BBQ were very disappointing and over priced. Did not meet Atlanta's excellent standard.

NO It's NOT!!!!! This Is It

By L T |

This Is It, NO IT'S NOT!!!!!! The selection left a lot to be desired (none) the vegetable selection was scarce, there was a concoction that I've never seen or heard of which was considered as mixed vegetables (Collards, cabbage and broccoli combined everybody knows that on a hot bar the broccoli will become mush) YUCK!!!!!!!!!! Bottom line OVERPRICED and not good for 2 vegetables (small) and 3 cornbread muffins the total cost $20.26. Ridiculous! Service was HORRIBLE, will not go back and I've decided to tell everybody that will listen and everyone that will not. It's a waste of time and money.

Delicicious food

By Gwendolyn G |

I had the best turkey wing dinner ever! They give large portions of food. I was grateful that my hotel had a refrigerator and microwave so I could reheat the food and enjoy the next day!

Don't Waste Your Money

By lauramanura |

Came here on my first night in Atlanta craving barbecue and it was the worst set of ribs, Mac & cheese, and collard greens I have ever tasted. The greens were not seasoned right and lacked flavor/taste. I took two bites and was done. The Mac & cheese was bearable (that's why they have 1 star) but of course it didn't taste like they put their foot in it. The BBQ ribs didn't fall off the bone and tasted hard like they were in the oven too long. Absolute Fail!

The Experience was ok

By SCJ |

Loved the Peach punch and the chicken. Little pricey than what I wanted but overall the experience was nice.

I would pass the word

By Indianbout318 |

Only dissatisfaction was the Mac & cheese. But then no one is better then mine. But overall the food was really good. I'd recommend it.

Bad service

By Resort534815 |

Tonight I went to "This is it " on Panola Rd. The place is not clean. The sweet tea containers had no led's so anyone could have put something into the drinks. Staff not friendly walking around on cell phone. I went in at 10pm they close at 12am. They had already started closing down so you could not order things on menu even though we were 2 hours from closing. I placed my order it took about 30 minutes to come to table. When my order came I had corn bread on my plate and it should have been Texas toast. I tell the waiter it was not correct she went to the back then can and told me they did not have any but , they had it when I placed my ordered but, sold to other customers who can in after me. I told her I did not like that they had brought me something that I did not order or paid for before talking to me. She stated I can go talk to the manager for you but they've shut the grill off. I asked can you just bring me some bread or something. I saw the waitress go to the manager. She never came back to my table and she ignore me the remainder of my time there. The manger never address my concerns or came to my table. I completed my meal and left. I will never return. I'm a African American who takes pride in supporting black own businesses but, I get sick of business who complain about us not supporting them but, yet they have ratchet service and business practices. Customers can go anywhere to get food so you need to be mindful of the service you give. You never know who's eating at your establishment.

Never again

By Emma L |

I moved to the Atlanta area in 2018 and i found This is it on accident and I LOVED their food. Fast forward to September 2023 I took a large group there and everyone 15 people felt the same as me. The food was distasteful. I ordered the chopped steak and it tasted like rubber my friend ordered the rib tips and they were all bones. I bragged on this place how good it was and I got egg in my face. We were too far away to return it but I will never go back. What a waste of money. All of us ended up eating somewhere else and enjoyed it. What a backlash for me.

It all looks good!

By marty m |

I got the rib tips with beans and collard greens. Delicious. The hot sauce wasn't very spicy but I understand why. Clean and friendly which I like!!

Ok!

By Greencbs |

Went to this place and the food was just ok! I was looking for a lot more but it didnt seem to come. Tried the ribs/too much sauce, tried the greens/gritty, macaroni and cheese/ok. They did have one item stand out item to me, the chitterlings/2 thumbs up. I would go back just for the chitterlings!!

Second visit dissatisfaction

By lavishli |

I had visited this location before over 2 years ago. It was satisfactory on my initial visit. I took my family there on a recent visit to Atlanta. I had to apologize to my family for my suggestion. The line for ordering is confusing. The staff microwaves food. The arrangement of the serving line is chaotic at it's best. You are so rushed that you don't realize what they have until you reach the cash register. The serving line had standing water from the steam table. I can't say honestly how the food is on this trip. I ordered fried chicken and was told that it would take 15 minutes. 30 minutes later I was still waiting. The manager apologized and discounted my meal that I ordered as dine in but became a to go meal. Customer service is not a high priority.

Good sides-Bad BBQ

By ZinDestin |

It's a cafeteria setup. You order your BBQ, they throw it in the microwave and then you get your sides. The ribs are already covered in an extreme amount of sauce and the rib tips are cooking in some soup/sauce type stuff. The side dishes were good. It's a busy place so certainly others like it better than I did. If you are near the airport and want high quality BBQ, go to Pit Boss. If you are at one of the hotels near here without a car, good luck.

Good food

By David H |

If you want good home style cooking, it's worth the try. Friendly staff. I only hate going when it's so busy. The only thing I recommend is coming up with a strategy to minimize the lines/wait time. Other than that, great food and people. Smothered Porkchop is my favorite!!

Good food

By Vee916 |

We visited last year and the food wasn't good, but it is so much better now. Food is good but expensive. There are specials offered, and friendly staff. Military discount available.

Food: Good, Service: Not so much

By sirpres |

This is soul food restaurant with a cafeteria. We wanted to sit at a table, so after we chose our plates, they told us to have a seat and they would bring our dinner. We waited. And waited. And waited. While other people getting food to go, came and went. We waited over 25 minutes. I would give it a two, but the food was pretty good.

Good Southern Food

By Chris |

Cafeteria style restaurant will sizable portions. The the rib tips were tasty, BBQ checken was good and the vegetarian plate was delicious as well. the staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was clean and had plenty of room for large parties. The strawberry shortcake and peach cobbler were very good as well. You won't leave hungry...

Customer Service is Better Than the Food

By PCS |

...which isn't saying much. Wildly overpriced, under-seasoned food served by exhausted, worn out, albeit personable staff. Clean and presentable facilities.

I think my grandma was in the kitchen!

By Kimberly B |

If you are looking for southern cooking like grandma use to make, pull into This is it! I have not had ribs, macaroni, and collard greens this good since I was a child. We visited twice and ordered different meals each time. There was literally NO CONVERSATION while we ate, lol!

A great food experience was had by all.

By Veronica M |

A group of 20 recently visited "This is It" and for all in attendance, this was definitely it. From the rib tips, catfish, bbq chicken, everything was tasty. To get a group of 20 people to agree that everything was GREAT was a miracle. We were seated promptly after waiting in a line. The line moved swiftly. The waitress and the hostess were both very professional and even with all those other customers, they were still engaging and entertaining. We will put this on our stops for next year's couple retreat. Thanks for a wonderful night out.

By Earl H |

This Is It" in Atlanta, a restaurant I highly recommend. Their crispy fried fish, served with gourmet potato salad and freshly seasoned collard greens, is absolutely delicious and one of my personal favorites. The staff, especially Mr. Steve consistently provides amazing service with a genuine Southern charm that makes you want to come back again and again. Overall, "This Is It" truly lives up to its five-star reputation. Earl

This. Is. Confusing. Is what it should be named.

By j g |

The layout and setting may have originally worked, but no longer. You go in, have to try to figure out a poorly designed menu on the back wall way behind the counter than you wait in line to order your main entree and sides. You have to guess what many of the items are as they aren't listed anywhere, not on the menu or at the serving line. As you shuffle through this line, you have no idea if bread comes with it, if its counted as a side or for that matter how many sides you get. You get to the cash register, you order a drink but drinks aren't listed anywhere so you have to guess. Then you find a table and have to wait to get your utensils brought to you, as your food gets cold. This is when you finally learn what they have to drink and order it again. Typically you may wait until the end of your meal before you get a drink. The first time I tried it was a Saturday. They had grits, which were quite good, the rest was OK. The second time I went, only to order a side of grits to go, I learned they only make grits on Saturdays. (It wasn't a Saturday) I left empty handed. The third, and final time I'll ever go here I decided all of the hassle just wasn't and isn't worth it. Parking is horrible, I have to tip a "server" who isn't taking my order or bringing my food out, but merely bringing me utensils as my food gets cold and a drink when I'm done with my meal. Could be a better place if they updated the entire operating system.

First time!

By Hupp M |

This was my first time going to this restaurant, the food was okay . I was upset they was running out of food I wanted to try. The long was so long so the waiting time was long.

Soul food at its best

By DwayneandCamille |

We chose this location due to hearing about the BBQ and soul food sides. Be prepared for the portions when you get your food. They give you a lot for your money and the staff keeps you entertained as you order and eat your food. I will stop there every time I'm in Atlanta.

Good soul food

By Thomas H |

The This is It! chain is expanding around Atlanta, offering good soul food served up in a timely manner. This location has limited parking and is a few miles from the Atlanta Hartsfield International Airport. No surprises, really, just good solid soul food. Love their creamed corn!

I could be more...

By TheNunesFamily |

With my wife, 3 children and a couple friend we walk from our hotel to This is It! as someone recommend us to do. Most of us choose chicken and it was ok. The place needs an uplifting for sure...

This ain't it!!

By yvette16 |

Leaving airport and decided to stop by and give this restaurant a try. It's a cafeteria style set upstyle set up. I had to ask for fresh rib tips because what the had look dry. The other items looked old as well. The older female server was very indifferent in her attitude - not rude but definitely not nice or friendly. We also ordered the fried whiting- which is cooked to order ( to guarantee fresh- order shrimp or fish - note it will take a while to get, because they are VERY slow with cook to order). The "fresh rib tips were so over cooked - they were tough to eat! While we were wait for our food, a customer brought her food back and complained about her ribs being dry and that it appeared they tried to mask the dryness by drowning it it BBQ sauce. They was slow to resolve her concern but ended up giving her a new dinner - I heard her say she would not be returning. I would not recommend this restaurant mainly because of the poor service and the food was not that good.

OMG BBQ!!

By Kristin |

We had one thing left to have on our GA vacation; BBQ. Rib tips and ribs with their spicy sauce were delicious! It was meatloaf Monday.... which I would probably never get in a restaurant but our daughter wanted it. Hands down the best meatloaf..... sorry Oma! And the sides.....coleslaw, potato salad, corn, mac n cheese, collard greens, corn muffins... all fantastic! Probably could have just split a meal and added a meat. We felt bad throwing away leftovers but we had 8 am plane to catch the next day. The ordering process ( almost cafeteria style) could use some improvement. By the time your meat catches up to where you get your sides, its cold so they microwave it. The line staff was not friendly. But the dining room staff was super attentive and friendly. One might be concerned by the fact they have a security guard( we were there about 8:30 at night), but the trip was worth it. Made top 3 meals we ate out during our one week trip.

Excellent food!

By Bernadette J |

The food was scrumptious and the serving portions very generous. The servers were exceptional and the customer service was fantastic!

Soul Food

By Cynthia G |

I had a delicious Chitterlin Dinner along with candied yams and macaroni w/cheese. Many people don't know how to properly clean chitterlins but these were very tasty and clean. The entire experience was delightful. All of the staff were welcoming and talkative. I enjoyed the politeness, compliments and conversation. The restaurant was clean and I would definitely go there again.

Soul Food!

By travelingchik22 |

Every time I go back home, I have to always go here! I am addicted to their rib tips with mac n cheese and sweet potato soufflé! It taste just like my grandma's cooking and its just excellent. Also if you go there, you have to try their ox tails which are superb! They have a great selection on food and their service is good! Wish they would open one in California!

Oh Yes

By Carl W |

This is a great down home spot for soul food. Beautiful people and great food. Great customer service. It was my family and the law. Try the ribs and the peach lemonade. Strawberry shortcake is the bomb too. Parking could be a challenge depending on the time of day.

Good food but slow service

By BlueThunder91 |

This was a great place for lunch. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and a friend ordered the two catfish plate. Both were very good meals. There was only one waitress working so the service was a bit slow. She had to wait the tables and bus them so it was understandable. The catfish plate came with two whole fish they were not fillet.

Good

By stylin_trina |

We tried the whiting & shrimp #15, which was excellent. And tried baby backs ribs with greens, yams & macaroni and cheese, which very good. Also tried chopped BBQ pork sandwich with baked beans, which was just ok (recommend everything but sandwich & baked beans).

Good service

By TeQuaysha T |

The good was good. There was a short wait to order, and a short wait for food to arrive to our table. We had a server who was attentive, but not overbearing. I would visit again.

Bad Experience

By mrsbens0n |

Let’s start with the Good: - Meat was good not great - portion sizes good The Bad: - If your looking for a high school cafeteria experience This Is It!!! - Horrible Customer Service - Sides are hit or miss!! - Wait times horrible around lunch and dinner so I guess that’s all times! - Had to get food reheated - Had to wait for silverware What you can do to improve: - Be more organized! - Have a better simple menu - Just make it a sit down restaurant - Have silverware accessible - Customer Service Training - Turn the AC up - Label Food

Anniversary and Birthday weekend

Family visiting from Hawaii

By NorthStar649864 |

Food is always great I personally hadn't been awhile but it was the first place I thought about for my uncle who wanted some good country soul food. They didn't disappoint nice family lunch and had leftovers and great desert for dinner.

Pulled Pork melts in your mouth

By lapmuhb |

Heard all about this place from friends so had to try it. It definitely lived up to all the great reviews! My husband and I are making this place a regular stop and always taking a plate to go.

Let's eat and be merry!

By Professor 78 |

The turkey wings and catfish nuggets dinners were the best we had in a very long time. The food was hot and absolutely delicious. My compliments to the entire team for their hospitality and service. We will see you again soon.

Best food in Atlanta!!

By cruisers2015 |

My family and I visited this restaurant while in town for the Georgia Aquarium. The food was absolutely amazing. Wish we had one in Ohio.

Not bad for a chain of BBQ.

By YoungSirSolo |

I enjoy the rib tips and macaroni. This would be a great after-church meal but they're closed on Sunday's which is one of the only negatives. Places like this would probably get more business on a Sunday than any other day. The only other complaint I have is that it usually takes a much longer time to get through the serving line than you'd expect. I think they're unnecessarily slow serving, but the food is still worth the wait in my opinion!!

YUM

By gatravelor |

I have tried the food here on 3 different occasions and it has been consistently delicious The sweet ice tea was not overly sweet and the meal choices were seasoned well Would recommend for families or date night. Great food

AMAZING!!!

By Marshonntri R |

my mother and i recently ate here after a long day of apartment hunting. the service and food was simply amazing. The GEORGIA PEACH PUNCH was the best!! I look forward to dining here often since I am moving to the area.

Good Food

By xQuizx |

I had the smothered pork chop with green beans, collard greens and for desert banana pudding. The smother pork chop was good but the banana pudding was amazing.

Terrible worker bee behind the counter

By Stephanie A |

I traveled to the area to pick up my son who was visiting relatives out of town. We have eaten here before and I wanted to treat my boys to a good home cooked meal before heading out. The woman who took our order was obviously having a bad day and it showed all over her face. She was not even trying to hide it. Usually, I walk out because I refuse to patronize businesses with such bad representation. But we were pressed for time and my older son had already ordered and sat down. Meanwhile, she proceeds to walk off and start to make other meals for other people, all the while, complaining to another worker and mumbling about what had her so pissed off. I am sure it wasn't us, because we had only been in her presence for five minutes. Needless to say, she does not have to worry about us coming back anymore. By contrast, the lady at the register and our waitress were very nice and pleasant. However, when I am spending $53 on a meal, I expect superior service from beginning to end.

Nothing remarkable at all. Locals told me there are better choices, and I would hope so!

By Flyinlow427vette |

I went here with a work group and the best thing I can say is the employees were friendly and helpful with choosing what to eat. It was basically buffet food though, served by the employees. The food portions were generous, but it certainly wasn't homemade style bbq. I liked the mac and cheese, but the bbq rib tips and bread pudding left a lot to be desired. I have had far better bbq both in Atlanta and elsewhere. As other reviews mentioned, when I told a coworker where we went he said they left off the "SH". I wouldn't say it is the worst meal I've ever had, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back either.

Best BBQ in Atlanta

By Imzadi3015 |

Cafeteria style servers, we got the 2 for $25 deal. BBQ rib tips, coleslaw, BrunswickStew, banana pudding, and never an empty soda glass. My buddy and felt a little awkward when we got there, being the only 2 white people in the place, but we felt we were leaving mama's house when we finished eating. Next time we have a load coming to Atlanta, we will be back here for another meal. Service much more friendly than a truck stop. If you park down the hill, you can park your rig....no trailer, though.

Great food, always!

By Misty M |

I have had their food several times in the past. The food is always great and on point. This time, they had a new pie, sweet potato on graham cracker crust. I think I originally got in on regular crust. It was a very good pie, so I went back to purchase an entire pie to bring home to my family. The staff is always welcoming and professional. I absolutely love this place.

Not worth it

By Justin G |

Very steep prices. The food is way too much. If you go there, make sure you have not eaten in 2 days. The food is very rich, if you go for lunch- “this will be it” for you for the day. Staff behind counter is rude, wait staff is nice. Don’t know what all the hype is about. Average good, big portions that’s make you sick.

Wide Range of Foods!

By realtor4un04 |

I had a chance to visit “This Is It” in Atlanta. The food was pretty tasty and I must say they had a lot to offer in the way of soul food including “chitterlings”. There was greens, cabbage, cornbread, Mac and cheese, corn, green beans, fish of all kinds, ribs, brisket, all kind of desserts and much much more! They give nice portions of food and the food was good and hot. The only problem that I experienced was the wait! WOW! We were in line for an hour. Was it worth the wait...yeah I hadn’t had anything to eat all day. This location is also hidden in a place that is had for the gps to find. Good eating!

MANNNNN!!!!!!

By Lonte216 |

This place was legit. The people were nice and they really didnt lack any customer service at all. The food was southern enough lol i live in Cleveland Ohio and they need to relocate they would make tons of money up here WE need it. I will suggest you go at least one time.

Oh My, You've Gotta Try😄

By Pork C |

We were all over the city looking for some good soul food. We were visiting friends to celebrate the new year and stumbled upon the best soul food I have had in years. My husband and I got the two for 25.00 special. He got the whiting fish, fried to perfection. It was crispy and seasoned like restaurants in Maryland. The cabbage was tender. I got the Pork Chop dinner which was smothered with gravy and onions. It was fork tender and mouth watering. The staff was very friendly and professional. The decore was inviting and everyone was smiling. The collards had an odd taste but everyone else liked them but me. The stars of the experience were the sweet potato side dish and the deserts. The whole experience had us talking about it for days.

Get the Ribs

By erawson77 |

We stopped here since it was close to the hotel. Everyone in my group had the brisket which all agreed was ok but I had the ribs which were amazing. The Mac n cheese was creamy, the potato salad was great and the banana pudding was perfect. Great place to eat.

Great Southern food

By Ann L |

Enjoyed my experience with This is it. I never had southern food and this experience was great. Highly recommend

Great food!

By vicky_sweezy |

I've been a couple times this month. The food is great! It's always fresh and taste amazing. The staff is awesome. Would recommend you stop in if in the area.

A must

By Seasonedtraveler |

In all of my travels to and around Atlanta, no one ever told me of this gem. All of the food looks so delicious it is difficult to decide on one main course. Excellent food, staff, location and price. What else is there? Remember, if you leave hungry, its your own fault. I will go here each time I am in Atlanta.

Overpriced and Dissatisfied - This Is It (Riverdale)

By Tanya N |

I am so disappointed right now. I have eaten at this restaurant a few times and was always satisfied, but this last time, I just spent over $35 for a Beef Brisket Dinner and was given 4 medium slices with mostly fat. The food was not seasoned like normal. I am highly satisfied!

That Is It!!!! Great Southern food

By herna413 |

Completely satisfied. Lookin for some good southern food in ATL. It came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. I ordered chop bbq pork sandwich, collard greens and mac and cheese. The menu offers both seafood and bbq. Good service and great emplyees. So unbuckle your belt and enjoy the food.

Food for your Soul

By Jane J |

This was the best soul food restaurant I have ever been to! The food was fresh and flavorful without being overly salty! The interior was beyond beautiful and the staff was very, very friendly! It was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back when I’m in town.

Average at Best

By Bangieb1123 |

My best friend and I decided to stop in on 09/27/2018, after my flight to Atlanta we were driving down Camp Creek Pkwy and we were looking for a place to pick up some dinner and funny this was it I’m not really big on places like this being franchised but we gave it an honest try. When we got there, it was a long line but line was moving quickly-very fast paced kind of felt like I was being rushed so know what you want before you get in line because they ask you to remain in the line until food is paid for, plus they were a little bit rude when it came to ordering. They have a variety of combos or you can build your own combo and that's what we decided to do, we ordered the fried chicken and fried shrimp with Mac and cheese and potato salad and the BBQ chicken/fried chicken with sweet potato casserole and cabbage -cornbread is extra I found that a bit odd that bread didn’t come with the combo, the fried chicken is cooked to order so there is an extra 15 minutes to wait on fried chicken, while waiting I also ordered some dessert the strawberry shortcake and sweet potato pie to go with our dinners, I was ready to dig in once we got home, so we put everything out like a Smorgasbord and we began our journey on this taste test of food, I was really and truly expecting more from the food my three favorites were the fried chicken although the wings are small, potato salad and the potato souffle' the reason for that is because that was more close to tasting homecooked with flavor than anything else we ordered the cabbage was cut into chunks I would suggest the cabbage to be more finely cut up and some additional flavor I was hoping that the fried shrimp would’ve have seasoning and fried the same way as the fried chicken and the mac and cheese was just at best average, the strawberry shortcake was also very good and the Sweet Potato Pie missed the mark period my best friend and I both said that the same ingredients they used for making the sweet potato souffle' they should've used for their sweet potato pies(fyi), pie was just tasteless tasted store bought but then again some store bought pies are very good indeed. Average at best is how I would describe This Is It! BBQ & Seafood, not going to say it missed the mark but no bullseye either definitely have had better and for the prices I definitely expect more. The next time I'm in town I will stop in to try some other things that I saw on their menu or maybe try a different location since these are franchised out.

SOUL FOOD Close to the HOTEL!

By Danner N |

Awesome Soul Food served Cafeteria Style. Specializes and BBQ but has other options. Get there early for their specialties or they run out like the BEEF ribs. Staff Friendly. Parking is horrible but they have staff to direct traffic. Does huge to-go order business.

If you like mac N Cheese or banana pudding, go here!

By LukeBo |

Went here for lunch on a weekday with a group of friends. This place is located near intersection of Camp Creek Pkwy and I-285. Be aware you can't turn in off Camp Creek but must go in behind the restaurant via an access road. Not a problem, just be aware. Anyway, I had a veggie plate with collard greens, slaw and mac N cheese with a dessert of banana pudding. Delish! 3 veggies $7, banana pudding $4. You order and pay at the counter, and they bring your plate and drink to you. Worth a trip for the veggies and dessert.

Great food

By Katelyn Ward |

The food is great. Great soul food, I really liked their catfish nuggets and yams. They had lots of options and varieties of food.

overpriced soul food

By Travel Peach |

overpriced soul food. it was good, but they have gone down hill. this location charges more than location in fayetteville. food is ok and workers are rude. to go orders are like pulling teeth

Hands Down One Of The BEST!!!

By BugattiBoi88 |

Consistently one of my favorite soul food places in the Atlanta area! When I used to live in the south part of Atlanta less than 10 mins from this location I can honestly say I ate here at least once a week! The food is always soo fresh and good! If you are looking for great quality bbq or seafood then this place should be on the top of your list! My favorite in particular is the fact that they let you choose two main items and then also two sides! Yesterday while visiting Atlanta I made it a priority to get this to go on the plane! I ordered the catfish fillets and Ribs with macaroni n cheese and greens! It also comes with a cornbread muffin! Initially I wanted to save it for my plane ride home but the smells from the bag had me tear this bad boy open on the way there :-) in BBQ heavens name.. AMEN

OMG!!!!!!

By Kyr A |

I was looking for somewhere to eat and have a good meal. What I found was a great meal. Good old-fashion southern cooking that made me feel like I was home. I had the catfish and rib tips. The sweet potato casserole was so delicious...I think it was a piece of heaven. It was my first time eating at This is It! but it definitely won't be my last. I can't wait to take a trip to Atlanta and share this place with my family!!!

Grill Ribs Tips and wings?

Tasted oven baked and not charbroiled. They used to taste great, smoky and char grilled but now they're taking short cuts and it was NOT GOOD AT ALL. I was a regular at this place but apparently management must NOT be invested in the future success of this company to allow this sabotage of what used to be a great tasty place to eat in the neighbor.Time to get my grill out an stay home next time.NEVER AGAIN.Sad

Business meeting

The food was delicious. The waiter was superb. My dessert was really good. I would highly recommend this restaurant for good soul food.

Consistency in food recipes never fails

Reminds me of my granny’s cooking. Good ole fashioned soullllll food ! Thanks for cooking all our favorite foods .and locations all over. My favorite is Campcreek new store!

First Date

By Michelle L |

I went to have brunch with someone for our first date and I was impressed with the service as well as the cleanliness of the restaurant. The food was delicious and fresh. I would recommend this restaurant for a first date.

good Soul food

great bbq and good fish. If you want soul food this is a great place to eat. offered many comfort food options

Soul Food Greasy Spoon! Expensive!!

By PleaseTakeMe2 |

Just okay. Always crowded, and the food is not for those health conscious eaters. Greasy spoon soul food. Expensive meal for two with small portions. If you are feeding a family, expect to empty your whole wallet. Better value by selecting one of the chain restaurants in the Marketplace.

Definitely worth the trip back!!

By Tamar B |

Visited this restaurant with my friends and the food was great!! Would definitely recommend to others.

some good stuff!!

By Gina051861 |

This place was recommended by a about friend and OMG the food was sooooo goood and the service was good also! We dined in and the building ia a beautiful place!! We will be back. Thank you

Disappointed

By Tonycp55 |

The staff is friendly and welcoming but the food was a bit of a disappointment. I ordered the barbecue wings and they looked great but were both tough and cold. The side items were okay but it was not worth the trip.

Good Southern Food Close to Airport

By Jes&Chris.Miami |

After our flight to ATL , the rental car agent recommend "This is it" for some good BBQ and southern cooking. Soon arriving the outside was nothing spectacular, and when we entered found the restaurant to be a cafeteria buffet style with food trays, seating and servers to help with utensils and drinks. The food server asked us "whatcha want"..and didn't seem like she wanted to be there.. The food looked good but was needed to be microwaved before it was handed to us. The mac n cheese was good, and the peach tea and strawberry shortcake was good but a little sweet for my taste. On the other hand the waitress was very nice and helpful. Over all not up for all the hype or food freshness, but was tasty.

Not consistent

By whodat_50 |

Good food, they’re not very consistent at all. Always new faces when I visit. This is the location next to five guys

Restaurant is nice but food is horrible

By kenyas776 |

This is it staff is nice but their food is overpriced and super nasty. I eat out all the time in the CampCreek shopping plaza. We spent $30 on bland box food.

First visit. Food was good.

By Natosha50 |

Everything I had, Mac & cheese, cabbage & baked chicken tastes like homemade. The banana pudding I didn't really care for, but that's just my opinion.

Good Food

By LI8701 |

I visit this restaurant often for Oxtails and they usually don't have it. lol However I love the char-grill wings and all of the sides.

The ribs was old and dry and hard no good

By Eugenia C |

The ribs was hard dry and no good the vegetables was okay seem like the real was old as hell like they re-cooked them or something but they was not even chewable

Awesome

By Mattaci13 |

Went by 5 minutes before closing. Everyone was super nice. I'm from Memphis and love soul food and BBQ. This place impressed me. Rib tips were great and the sauce was amazing. Turnip greens and boiled cabbage stole the show! I would go back in a heartbeat.

My nephews HS graduation visit

By StThomas’ Child |

I was picked up from the airport in Atlanta and to avoid rush hour traffic, I got a treat. I didn’t have any idea that there was a great southern soul food restaurant nearby. My family eats there often. My nephew and niece immediately ordered the catfish nuggets. There are great daily specials for two people though. There are numerous entrees like smothered pork chops, fried chicken, baked chicken, and sides like sweet potatoes, rice, macncheese, & greens. Meals come with corn bread and toast. It is casual and informal. Everyone was nice. Similar to a cafeteria but you order the entree and the pick your sides. Open seating. Diverse clientele. It is good!

Great soulfood

By FlyingPicker |

This place was recommended to me by the hotel when asked for some good local food. Expect a diner-like interior, nothing fancy, but good honest food for a very reasonable price and an easy atmosphere. Do try the BBQ Rib Tips!!!

Good, not great

By Jonnyjetprop |

Drifted into the restaurant and found the heating from the staff warm and welcoming. I had the rib tips and found them to be good, just not great like some of the other reviewers found. Yes, I'd come back, but nor would I drive out of my way to come here either.

Never Again

By jralford357 |

Twice I had tried this is it, the customer service is horrible. So, I ordered a two piece chicken.Get to the end of the line the girl asks who's next and did I get steak.I reploed, no I had chicken but I'm next.Well, they gave my plate to someone else and the manager I suppose a( tall light skimmed man), batted his eyes at me and said what did you get fried, baked etc..I said fried and he was was rude in his demeanor, the cashier was rude , didn't even listen me when I tried to (with a low voice) explain to her ma'am you have given away my plate, I was next. She said well I'm just going by what's up here.Listen, I'm a therapist I was between clients trying to grab a bite. I love supporting my people but the disrespectful customer service is a NO for me, I will not be visiting ever again.I don't have to pay $20 for a plate and be disrespected at the same time!

Great place

By Dee T |

Had the pork chop. It was delicious. The line seemed long when we got here but it.wad worth the wait. Two of us eat like there was no tomorrow for $25. Great food. Great price.

Very friendly and welcoming

By EngineerDude |

The people working the counter were super friendly. They will go out of their way to be helpful. You order and pay at the counter and a waitress brings you the included drink to your table. The waitress was very friendly. The food was pretty good too. The sweet potatoes were very sweet. The dining area was quiet and there was only one easy to ignore TV.

Unbelievable!

By dnumme |

Based on other reviews on TripAdvisor, we went here for dinner. Wow - incredible BBQ! The samples sealed the deal. The staff were very friendly. We left with bulging stomachs and large smiles.

This Is It

By llewis6957 |

Food was excellent!! Service was Excellent. I would highly recommend to other family members and friends.

Not worth it.

By Bulldog R |

Stopped here because it was on the way to the hotel and was rated with 4 stars. should have known better when i saw a microwave on the back counter. Got the Rib nips and 1/4 chicken. They piled it on the plastic plate and put it in the microwave for 40 seconds. I asked for mac & cheese and then fried Okra. The fried Okra was the best thing there. The Nips were burnt (crispy hard) and drenched like soup in the BBQ sauce. The customer service was great and the Okra was great. other than that, don't spend the money.

Its Not It!!!

By Mar D |

Work Related trip. This Is It was right next to our hotel. Decided to try it. The bbq wings dry and old.. Cornbread was dry. Peach cobbler crust not quite done.. the sauce was tomatoed based and watered down. Rib tips was ok. Not a good experience. And there was security guard when you walk in. Uber reviews would be accurate. OVERPRICED

Great food! Customer service was average

By T B |

The food was excellent!! I ordered the BBQ pull pork and my family had catfish and chicken wings. The strawberry shortcake and peach cobbler was delicious. It was all so good. The restaurant was clean and our waitress was tentative. The only reason I am giving this place a 4/5 is because when we were ordering our food the cashier had an attitude problem. Other than that, I recommend this place!

This is not the one

By bigeoppa |

Went to get dinner with my wife on the way to the Atlanta airport. Bad mistake. Upon entering the restaurant my wife walked to the counter and started looking at the food displayed. The server said "What You Want". My wife looked at her and calmly said" Welcome to This Is It how may I help you today?" "You do realize that customer service starts with a pleasant attitude." The server replied "What ever" This was the entirely wrong thing to say at that moment. We ordered and took the food to a table. There was no silver ware and no one readily available to assist us. After I walked back to the cashier we were serviced. The food was cold, not without flavor but not appetizing. I had a vegetable plate and ate about halfway through before giving up. For all the talk I have heard about this place I will never return. If you want good food and service go someplace else.

Good Soul Food

By springdrive |

The beef brisket is DELICIOUS, the smoke flavor really tastes and it super tender. The sweet potato souffle and greens were good as well. My sister's enjoyed the oxtails.

A very good alternative to fastfood.

By Louis G |

Food is good, good selection. Made to order dishes and buffet style. Very friendly and curious service.

Rib Surprise

By Road R |

At the suggestion of a friend we tried this place. I wasn't that impressed with the menu options and not being a rib person the choices were fewer. So I went for the beef ribs, go figure. Turned out to be a good choice, the meat fell off the bone with ease and the meat/sauce tasted good. I would go back again.

Late dinner

By Dogfather96 |

Stopped here with business colleagues after getting in to town around 9pm. They were still open so we thought we'd give it a try. Food was ok, but not the best BBQ I've ever had. The 2/$25 deal made it better.

Just what we needed

By 879tamelad |

We had gone once a few years back and decided to do it again. This time we ended up at the to go store and it was just as good. I had the chicken wings, my daughter had the catfish and my son had the bbq rib tips and we ate everything that was on the tray. It was awesome and so was the service.

Dinner with family

By Loria M |

I got the beef liver over rice with two sides which was actually very good they had mask on keep putting new gloves on with every new plate every thing was clean, my food was very good I enjoyed all of it no complaints the people who served us was nice and friendly.

Tasty Soul Food

By cantblockmyshine |

This place was a hit with our group! So it's a Monday afternoon and in walks our group of almost 20 adults & kiddos. To most places this would be utter chaos, but much to our delight we were greeted with warm smiles & hellos. One thing that stood out was how clean they were. Tables, floors, fountain drink area and ladies room were all kept up well. There are a variety of meal options from bbq, seafood, chicken, and various southern style sides. I like the fact they have postings of dishes which will require additional wait time to allow for fresh cooking of the meal. Since we were so large, we were seated in the banquet room which had plenty space. We had a variety of meals on the table and all were pleased with their selections. I personally went for the rib tips w/ spicy bbq sauce, potato salad, cole slaw. The rib tips were tender & the spicy sauce was good. Slaw & potato salad were ok, but nothing to write home about. The portion of rib tips given was so much, I had plenty to take home. I also had a sampling of their grilled shrimp & oooooh man those suckers were good! Wish I'd ordered some to go. Tasted the fried chicken & it was legit southern fried chiken. Not too salty, fresh crunchy crust. And I LOOOOOVED their Georgia Peach punch! It was sweet without being over done like many places will do. Our waitress recommened mixing the punch w/ lemonade & man oh man was it killer!! We had really good service. From ordering to seating to checking in on us periodically for refills & to -go boxes/orders. I really wish I could remember our waitresses name because she was awesome!!! She worked that room so effortlessly & with the Southern hospitality that makes me love being from the South :-) Great place to visit while in ATL.

Soulfood

By tanesia j |

My husband and I visited our daughter in Atl last weekend and had Sunday dinner at this restaurant and absolutely love it. It was like being home with a southern home style feeling..... Excellent food.

Poor service I received in Atlanta from This is it! Camp creek

By verna6869 |

I had chopped steak when I cut it ,it was red some I sent it back to receive another steak. I was told all of it was like that si, I change to smothered pork chop with gravy only to get a bone. I'm very disappointed and left there mad a hungry. I'll be glad to share my experience with this with others coming here from NC like me. Stay blessed just had to let you know what I got for 14.68.

Quick business lunch

By Elcaleno |

I came with a peer and was a good experience. Someone at the door to welcome us, the person in the food line heard it was my first time and gave me some samples and the server was attentive and friendly, the cashier was nice as well. Overall service was great. Food was also good and filling!! I will come back!!!

Plenty of food

By Blue Heeler |

Visited this on the way back from the airport. It's cafeteria style where they serve you over a counter line. Not the cheapest BBQ I've had but it was pretty busy. Big servings, the sides seemed to be overflavoured (salty). And I've never seen so much sauce on the meet. We found the wait staff to be very friendly and overall enjoyed our food. Not too bad at all, but not top shelf.

Excellent choice!!!!!

By MandM S |

Geeeez, this place has excellent food, excellent service and I will definitely return!!!! I really enjoyed this one. The grits were soooo Good, the corn, peach cobbler, all the sides! Every entree looked delicious. The grilled salmon was perfect and the beef ribs were very tender. You won't go wrong here!

This Is It BBQ & Seafood review

By Kenneth S |

The service is really slow so be prepared to stand in line for several minutes before making your order. Was in line for 20 minutes before ordering, then once order was completed had to wait another 30 minutes or so before receiving food. There appear to be only one worker making the orders. The cashier would call the order back to the kitchen and then the service lady would have to call the order back to the kitchen again. If you dine in make sure you get a ticket and a number. Waited so long that the manager refunded our money. For this to be a well known chain the food was just ok.

Check this place out good food.

By Chaz B |

The customer service was outstanding and a friendly atmosphere. The food was fresh and hot. They will let you do a taste test on items. The young man who was servicing the food was funny. The prices are good, not a lot of room to eat in so don't take a crowd of people with you lol, four high tables only. When I come back to Atlanta I will be eating there again.

Good Food, Fair Prices

By LovingLife39 |

If you are close to the airport and looking for good soul food.........go HERE! Only a quick Uber trip to some really good soulfood. I a fried chicken & catfish dinner with 2 sides, (mac & cheese, cabbage), cornbread rolls, sweet tea, an extra side of sweet potato souffle. OMG Everything was good, I left stuffed. The sweet tea was great. Plenty of seating, clean restaurant, and good portions. It's a busy place, so don't expect award winning customer service. The food will have you so occupied you won't want to be bothered. I enjoyed this little spot, and I will definitely visit when I am in town again. Prices vary depending upon time of day and meal selections, but reasonable deals can be found all about the menu. Lots of options to select from. Real flavorful soulfood. I love the ATL.

Good BBQ, Unique way of serving. Go Hungry

By JimEdenfield859 |

Was in Atlanta overnight and was craving some good southern food. This is It delivered!!! There was a huge line, but just stay in line as it flows quickly. The food was oh so good. I left there stuffed.

BBQ Rib Tips

By CONSUELLA W |

I didn't know what to expect upon arrival but when my nose smelled the aromas, I was lead to a vision of mouth watering BBQ. Those rib tips were delicious and so was the mac 'n cheese, greens, sweet potatoes, potato salad and chitterlings.

Mixed Emotions

By Sonja H |

The restaurant looks well maintained. Parking is limited around peak hours. I had a Vegetable Plate and my friend had the bbq baked chicken. I was not impressed with the staff behind the counter (it reminded me of the line at the school cafeteria - just there) the menu board should reflect side options or it makes it a rush rush decision making process once you finally get to stand in front of my options. A waitress checked in on us once but never came back for drink refills (until my friend attempted to get our refills for us) In Atlanta this restaurant is an option but is definitely not a "must have go to" spot

Great service and good food.

By Kidd C |

They are happy to be at work which is something you don't necessarily see very often. The food was fresh and hot and the selection is great- a little something for everyone. They are best known for barbque, however, the catfish was simple divine! I must warn you that those types of things are not already sitting and waiting, they are cooked to order and well worth it!

Avoid this place!

By 9211PK |

Good hoarding and advertisement. Food --> Less option, bad taste Service --> Cold Seating --> High chairs and table The cleaning staff is seen when you are eating! The place is not clean too

BBQ

By PlymouthSatellite |

Cafeteria style BBQ/Soul food. Good enough. Most dinners can be part of the two for $25 deal--includes meat, two sides, bread, drink, tiny dessert for each person. Friendly place. Great table service (they refill your drink constantly). Really good baked beans. Plenty of sides to choose from but don't look for fresh veggies or salad--this place ain't for Vegans. (Not that there's anything wrong with people from Vega.)

finger licking

By Ren |

so, i ate at this franchise in another Georgia location several times several years ago. but somehow, it ended up on my poop list. i dont even remember why. but while staying at the nearby hotel and hearing my family & friends rave about the place, my husband and i hit the place up at 1130pm on Saturday. Yes, open late! and it tasted great! and the staff was great! the wings with spicy sauce was smacking, licking good. the yams were freaking delicious. the mac & cheese was okay; there is room for improvement. but! i WILL be back. I like that they have so many options. i like the idea that the food is already ready for the choosing. i like that they are open to midnight. Awesome Sauce. For real.

Bad customer service from management and messed up order

By Cruiser28274733045 |

They messed up my 58.00 order I called to speak with the manager and he had the nerve to tell me go to another this is it !!I asked to speak to someone bigger than him he refused and said he the manager!!! They suck and will never ever get my money after they messed up my family meals

Mmmm mmmm Dynomite!

By moniquebK2063PX |

What great place food was fresh. The barbeque absolutely delicious chicken shrimp and ribs. The greens were really delicious. The staff uber nice and helpful. The restaurant clean and welcoming. I am happy I fell into the restaurant. And they are closed on Sunday.

Best Catfish and BBQ in town!

By Sheila W |

A friend told me about this fantastic restaurant. It won a Hoodie Award for best BBQ a few years ago and I can see why. The line was long when we arrived, but moved very quickly. The quality of the food is excellent! The catfish was $15.99 for three whole fried catfish and two sides. You can’t beat that for price. My friend had the ribs tips and he said they were great! When you are in Atlanta, visit this place, you won’t regret it!

Commendation

By Victor M |

This is much interesting as shawarma used as dinner, I refer anyone who needs a helpful context to visit this page in a hurry

Quick take out before flight

By Michelle K |

We stopped through for a take out before a flight. We walked right in and just as the name said this is it. The food was hot, the place is clean and our meals were tasty. I ordered the 4 BBQ wings with cabbage and green beans. The extra BBQ sauce had run into my cabbage and beans by the time we settled to eat and I didn't mind because it was that good. The wings were moist and tender. My friend had the beef tips with Mac and cheese and greens with the corn muffin. All good! We will return and recommend.

If you expect to be catered to - this isn't it!!

By Dazara W |

Needed a caterer for a vow renewal ceremony for my parents. In June 2015, I reached out to the This Is It on Panola Road in Lithonia, GA. I called and left several messages - no response. I went to the store location in July, went over my budget with a catering manager that said that she would "put something (plan) together for me and email it" to me in a few days. A few days (a week)later - no email no and no call. I went on to book another caterer. All was fine until the other caterer cancelled at the last minute due to a tragic death of a family member. I reached out to This is It again - this time reaching the catering Corporate manager, Darren. He said that he would "put something (plan) together for me and email it" to me in a few days. No RESPONSE from him either. Called and put in a formal complaint to the corporate office. Spoke to a woman named Stephanie. She was kind and listened to my frustration and stressed the urgency because the event was the upcoming weekend. She said that the owner "ma" contact me in a few days. Thank goodness I can cook. NO RESPONSE!! It took me 2 days but I ended up cooking the meal for 100 people in my own kitchen! The event was this past Saturday. The food was great and a whole lot cheaper. I was willing to pay for convenience and was trying to support a local minority owned business but This ISN'T it! I will no longer patronize a business that does not do what they say they will, does NOT respect my time and apparently does not want my money. If you are trying to support a minority owned business, there are so many more to choose from - this one isn't it.

Great food great price

By Bre J |

The mac n cheese is delicious. They also sell this peach lemonade that is to die for (add water). The food is not very expensive and you also get a lot for what you pay for excluding through chittlings. They are good so my husband says I don't eat meat. Whenever we come to Atlanta we always visit here to eat.

Always Good, this is it

By Natalie K |

My sister was visiting from Tampa and what a great place to take her to. Customer service from the beginning to the end was exceedingly exceptional 👌 and it was worth the stop!!! Thanks to everyone who makes it happen. 💓 It's not just the food it's the experience.

a la carte

By johnt |

I ordered a pulled port sandwich. I got two pieces of Texas Toast with a scoop of pulled pork between them. BBQ sauce was in little cups. No onions, no pickles, no condiments period. $10. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

Really good BBQ

By Lena K |

For our first meal in Atlanta, Georgia, we ate at This Is It, recommended to us by the airport car rental associate. It is a short drive from Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. There IS a long line to wait in before ordering, but all the better, to give time to peruse the displayed menu. My nephew & I had the BBQ tips (scrumptious), my sister ordered fried chicken (which is cooked to order) so she had to wait 10 minutes.

Close and quick

By Foreman212 |

Flew in and got to out hotel and saw this gem sitting there. Went in and I ordered the rib tips, potato salad, Mac and cheese, and banana pudding. Was a good meal with good service but was a huge downfall was watching all the meats get trayed up and then thrown in the microwave for a minute. I know for sure it didn't help the tenderness of the tips, but overall was a good meal.

Great experience. Good Soul food, cooked like down south cooking. Very nice portions of food given on your plate.

By Maetta Y |

Last year I visited This is It BBQ on Camp Creek and it was great. You have to go through a line to get your food and then find a table to sit or you can take your food out. We decided to sit in and eat. We had greens, macaroni and cheese, chitterlings, potato salad, string beans, candied yams, Fried catfish, Fried chicken, corn and corn bread. there were 3 of us and we had to take some of the food home because they gave good portions on each plate. For dessert we had strawberry short cake, peach cobbler and cake. The servers were nice and gave generous portions. The waiter and waitress were very nice and came back to check several times to see if we needed anything else. Great atmosphere.

Amazing service

By Shermaine H |

Awesome food and amazing service. Worth the 20 minutes we waited. While on vacation we visited twice, the second time was after leaving another restaurant that had a 2.5 hour wait. The service was awesome!

Very Disappointed/Thanksgiving Day RUINED

By ACBeeC |

I patronize this restaurant on a weekly basis and have had very few complaints other than the BBQ chicken being overcooked a few times. So this year I decided to cater my family's Thanksgiving dinner which was the WORSE decision I could have made. I paid $160 for half trays of macaroni and cheese which was thin and runny, stuffing that tasted SOUR and was so HORRIBLE nobody ate it, sweet potato soufflé which was suboptimal but was probably the best of the four trays and green beans which were somewhat bland. No complaints about the peach punch, unsweetened tea and sweet potato pie. I would NOT recommend patronizing THIS IS IT for catering events because the caliber of the food is not the same and you will be disappointed. How embarrassing to cater your family's Thanksgiving dinner with food that WASN'T edible. I called the next day and spoke with the manager (I believe his name was Joseph) and I was informed that I would be compensated with a credit for the tray of dressing that NOBODY ate. He was apologetic and very nice and therefore I have no complaints regarding the customer service.

Great Food! Great Service!

By Jeffery T |

This Is It! is an incredible soul food restaurant. The food is great. The hospitality is great. And the atmosphere is clean and relaxing. I definitely recommend visiting if in the area.

Line out the door.

By Jackie C |

In town for a convention. Line was out the door. Thanks for the samples. There was no table ordering you had to just wait in that long line. Ribs, rib tips, turkey, fish, all made in supposedly a southern way...NOT! When I asked employee why the ribs were so tough like rubber she replied when we're busy we don't really have time to cook them as long as advertised. The sad part about it was the microwave (THAT WAS ON FULL DISPLAY) the oven baked rubbery ribs (or anything with sauce on them). Last I took the easy road I got fried fish and shrimp, it was over cooked, no seasoning. Nice people working there.

good option if you're staying a nearby motel

By TJandTR |

We have had BBQ all over the USA. The pork BBQ, cabbage, cole slaw and black-eyed peas at "This Is It" was perfectly satisfactory. Nothing seemed salty (which can be hard to find). The prices were a bit higher than we usually find at BBQ joints, but not driving to dinner was a huge plus.

Business owner

By Friend |

I stopped at the location 3620 and placed the order the food server in the cashier attitude stinks . One of them was ok the skinny girl was just nasty you guys need to deal with this the food is good but The service stinks . If they don’t want to come to work stay home I had another customer walk up to me and complain about the customer service this to not make any sense . I hope Management can fix this Or close the doors

lack of service

By Mo P |

Staff was not friendly or willing to offer any assistance. I was referred to read menu and spoken to in a rude sarcastic manner. It is a shame to have employees in a potentially good business to bring the value down with their lack of customer service. Lastly, my desserts were not placed in my bag. I called to inquire and did not even get an apology. Don't get your hopes up on the soul food experience.

This is it is the PLACE!

By Sherri L |

Food was on point! Great customer service ! Peach cobbler make you want to slap somebody! Enough food for 2 meals! I also had fried chicken collards, mac n cheese cornbread muffin!

Sneaky Retaliation

By livytwo |

We went to This Is It on Camp Creek yesterday. We ordered catfish nuggets at 8:15 pm when we arrived in addition to 2 other orders. I just happened to look at my watch to check the time. The line servers were very cordial; however, after I asked about my order and said I had been waiting for 35 minutes, 2 people who had ordered long after I did received their orders. It was only after I spoke with the manager that I finally got my order of nuggets. When I checked the plate, my order was about half what the others had received, but since it had already been 47 minutes, I just took it & left. The food is usually good & prompt. Today, however, I had an awful experience. I doubt we will return.

OMG the food was amazing!!!

By LadyTwiZta_5 |

The presentation of the food in itself was mouth-watering. I had the hardest time deciding what to get. It was a much bigger location with more of a variety of soul food etc. I loved everything that I had, our waitress Ms. Connie was the sweetest. I am planning to take my family back to Atlanta, just to go to this restaurant...We like to eat!!!

Foodie

By babykit_10 |

Excellent service and food. Many choices for even the pickest eater . Was able to accommodate our large party without any notice. I will visit this restaurant anytime I am I in the city.

very good whole catfish

By Mona H |

the catfish was cooked to order, therefore there was a little wait which was expected and it was good and tasty

fast and good.

By graycd1 |

Went here for lunch was in and out in 15 minutes without feeling rushed. Food was good, inexpensive and served quickly. The ribs or half chicken would probably be the best choice as the pulled pork was a little dry.

Delish soul food

By Katina340 |

Visited mostly for side items, but I did get to try the rib tips and mac and cheese. Yummy Will surely go back for more when I get back to ATL!!!

BBQ without smoke

By hiwayriders |

Without smoke flavor is it really Bbq? No. We had baked pork with your choice of hot or mild sauce thrown on top.

Atlanta areas excellent Catfish and Fried Shrimp & sides was simply outstanding!!

By NYGiantsluvCamtastic |

We decided to grab a few dinners at the This Is It restaurant near my family’s house in the Brittany Park subdivision off Camp Creek and the food was simply outstanding!! Even the sides were spectacular from Mac & Cheese to collard greens to fried okra to yams!! We were so excited we actually ordered from them a second night in a row!! Even the salad dressings and special seasoned sauces were just wonderful!! We will definitely visit them again during the holidays perhaps be prepared for the long line tho...it’s obvious the “secrets” out!! They are FANTASTIC!!!

So Sad!

By Vonne R |

Visited the new 'This is it" in Union City, Ga and was very disappointed. I had visited "This is It" before at other locations and was not satisfied, but figure this is new maybe I will give them a try. Sorry still the same. I ordered a vegetable plate with 4 veggies. Sign says 13.99 which I thought was too expensive for portion size veggies. Got to the window and totaled came to $15.15. Can you all believe this $15.15 for only 4 small portions of veggies. I could have made my own veggies and feed about 10 people for that amount. Never no more, and I will be telling everyone I know don't waste your time and monies. When you try to support your black businesses so sad!! Ripping your own off!

I wanted to like this

Decided to keep a local theme, and went to This Is It! for some "soul food" as described by the desk staff at the Hampton Inn. I was a little disappointed as the food was served from cafeteria trays, and much of it was then microwaved to make it hot. As such, it was too "rewarmed" to get a better review. The table service was friendly and efficient, but I wasn't impressed with the staff in the food line.

Bad Service

I visited this establishment recently and it was a horrific expereince. The staff is totally disrespectful to the cusotmers and is very unaplogetic to customers when the customer complain. Do not patronize This is It at Campcreek.

RIB TIPS ON POINT

By my3sweetlildivas |

I ordered rib tips, collards and sweet potato. The taste and seasoning overall was pretty good. I enjoyed my meal just wish they would serve more scoops for the price or just lower prices just a tad bit. Good food.

Just ok

Visited during my stay at a nearby hotel. I heard so much about it and finally was able to try it for myself. I was not that impressed. There were a couple of things on the menu that they actually didnt have. Kinda frustrating. The food was ok, not what I expected from a soul food joint.

Great Customer Service

Ms. Ace was really nice she greeting everyone with a smile she was very patient and helpful! She gave positive vibes and great energy. She would be the reason I would return, please don’t get me wrong everyone was okay but when you give off the vibes that you want to be at work and serve people it’s a different feeling. Her greatness will be rewarded in Jesus name! Thank you Ms. Ace!

Great Value Soul Food

We tried this place on the off chance and what a find. The queues were an encouraging sign and the place did not fail to disappoint. We had wonderful beef ribs, freshly chopped BBQ chicken and chicken wings accompanied by mashed potato, collard greens, mac and cheese, corn, slaw and cabbage. Deserts were strawberry cheesecake, peach cobbler and sweet potato pie. The sweet iced tea was good too with plenty of refills. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and efficient and the cost will not break the bank. We liked it so much we went back for another helping the next night too. This place is well worth a visit if you're in the area and you will pleasantly surprised.

Food good, service not!!!

By jancarr2013 |

I arrived at 9:45pm and the line was at the door. And the people were still coming. The wait to order the food was fast, but getting the food was a slow process and I had planned on dinning in because I like my fish hot!!! I waited and paid for the food and waited somemore. When I spotted my order sitting in the window it was 11:05p.m. and the next thing I knew they were boxing it up to go without asking me if that's how I wanted it. My number was finally called and they handed me my bags, by this time I was mad, they didn't ask me if I still wanted to dine in or anything. I thought that was so rude. The place was still crowded and some customers were still eating too. Security came in and flipped the lights one time, we were going to sit and eat anyway but when that happened I was ready to go. Good food bad service

There is no Team Work, and Management seems to be less than interested in a job that has become tireless. It's too many Indians without an ethical Cheif.

Fair. Left the place feeling ripped off. Won’t return.

Very disappointing! Meal was fair and terribly overpriced. Paid nearly $100 for 2 meals that weren’t delivered to our table. Given carry out tray and cutlery for meal to be eaten in the restaurant. Portions were average. Taste: Nothing to write home about. My friend was very disappointed. See that they are expanding and after overcharging on a meal that I could have gotten from a prepared food section of a grocery store; I can see how.

This is it for sure!

Great soul food!! Everything was cooked to perfection. Staff was friendly and helpful. A must visit if you are in Atlanta. I just tell like it is.

A great soul food spot! During our visit here we were looking for soul food and right around the corner from where we were staying we were recommended to try this restaurant and to my surprise it was very good. I had the neckbones and rice! Awesome!
