Love love love this place! The outside reminds me of Margaritaville mixed with a beach bar, and the inside reminds you of a classic train dinning car. The would was awesome. The homemade hummus with roasted red pepper, feta, and pita was excellent. Since the hummus was so good, I had the fallafel, and my boyfriend had the fish tacos - both were sooo good. We had no room for dessert, but next time we will get the monkey bread.

Really nice converted house. The atmosphere is really great. The food was good and the drinks were excellent. Lots of seating inside and out. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful picking out menu items. Close to public transportation with lots of parking. We tried the cheesesteak eggrolls, French dip sandwich, and chicken Parm sandwich, all were excellent. The sandwiches were huge. I will definitely come again !

Three Monkeys can't compare to restaurants in the city. But, when you think about the fact that it's in Andalusia and within walking distance to the Torresdale train station! The restaurant is stunning. It's an intimate high end pub. There is a formal dining area but I typically hang out around the bar. I hosted a happy hour there for 30 people and couldn't have been happier. Inexpensive but high quality.

Great food and great atmosphere. I can't wait for my next visit. Its always a good time here and the service is fantastic.

After reviewing their website we decided to head out for a family meal. All of the prices on their website are bogus(every item each priced several dollars more then online). The menue says prices subject to change without notice, however when I questioned the staff why the printed menues did not match the wesite advertised prices they advised that the website has not been updated in a few years! Really a few years.. come on man! I believe them because the laminated menues provided clearly look old. Kids had snow crab legs that were dry...crab cakes had a lot of filler. The meals came with desert and coffee, however the waitress neglected to advise us of the same.

Great food and relaxing atmosphere sitting outside having some appetizers and drinks… Nice place to hang out with your friends and family… Staff is very friendly… Would recommend this restaurant/bar for breakfast lunch and dinner !!

First thing first chef Beth was awesome. Food is well prepared, sevice was great. Went on a Thursday around 5pm and it wasnt very crowded. Every plate we ordered was outstanding. Will be returning

The atmosphere was fun, laid back and very friendly!!!! Our meal was amazing with nice size portions. Everything was excellent!

This is one of our favorite places ever. Not only is the ambiance fun, both inside and outside, but the monkey theme permeates from the drink menu to the food menu to the decor. The drink menu has some unusual and fun drinks as well as seasonal specials. Everything here is delicious, the portions are generous and the worst part is having to choose what to eat so I recommend sharing several dishes. My favorite appetizer is the Loaded Potato Chimps (homemade potato chips) covered in deliciousness. As far as dessert, I’m a chocolate person but I cannot resist the hot monkey bread with vanilla ice cream. We have gotten even non-dessert eaters to eat it! (See photo) You just can’t go wrong here, I wish I could give it higher than a five!

We've been to Three Monkees on several occasions including brunch, lunch and dinner, inside and outdoor. The bar scene inside and out always has a good vibe frequented by regulars. A good selection of beers though nothing special. Brunch was OK though we arrived towards the very end. Want to try it again. Sandwiches are very generous portions. Cheese steaks excellent. Burgers very good. Mahi tacos were just OK though with many ingredients. Crab fondue app was very good. Salmon entrée quite good. Would suggest trying specials before regular menu items. All in all a great place to meet friends for drinks and a bite.

My friends and family have been coming here for years! Its a quaint little bar but it always gets packed! They have outdoor seating which is opened year round (some of it is covered) Easily accessible from the train station right there and also of I95. Good food and good drinks- can be a be a bit pricey depending on what you get to eat!

This was the third time here for dinner with wifey. This time we brough along my 70-something parents, brother and his wife to celebrate Dad's birthday. Nothing very loud--so I called ahaed and reserved a table for 8 in the dining room. Good thing too because the place did eventually fill up by 8PM (on a Thursday). Decor is memorabilian..with lots of monkey icons about, but not too 'in your face'. It's fun. There's a large patio and bar on the side. On previous nights it was crowded, but a chill came through town tonight and nobody was out there. Wifey and I had excellent service and meals the previous two visits. With our party, however, we'd rate the service 2.5 and meal a 3 out of 5. Our waiter, while courteous, was a bit slow to visit. He probably cost the bar a round or two by not stopping by more often through our meal. The bus boy was more visible than the waiter...promptly taking plates as fast as we could empty them. The menu is rather trendy and agressive, but there's the usual pub fare also. On previous visits (both on weekends), it hit the mark. On this Thursday, it missed. The appetizer was excellent--bacon wrapped, horshradish stuffed shimp. Dad had salmon and thought its shrimp and crab topping to be 'too wet'. My veal parm was slightly overcooked and dry. Wife's chicken piccata was meh. Son's Santa Fe Chicken with sausage was good n spicy, but noone else had anything much to laud about their dishes. We did not have dessert (wasn't even asked!) and we kept the table for about 2.5 hours. Brother and I drank the pub's own Horny Monkey (red) Ale. It was very good. Will probably go back again after awhile...it's better than anything else in Torresdale.

I didn't know what to expect at a bar-type restaurant for Sunday brunch. I am happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. I had pumpkin raviolis and my friend had apple walnut pancakes. Both were delicious!

Great atmosphere and matching food! Had the French dip sandwich- prime rib in French baguette with cheese and onions! Sweet potato French fries were to die for! Sandwich was so filling. I took half home for the next day’s lunch! The drinks 🍸 were good... monkey martini... tasted like a loaded banana!

Saturday at noon we stopped by for a lunch after having been to a funeral. They still had their breakfast menu up so we ordered Breakfast Enchiladas, and some Creme Cheesy french Toast!!! My wife and I are arguing which was the best! The Enchiladas had bacon, sausage, cheese, maybe scrappel too? It was with a cheesy sauce and it was great. My wife's French Toast was thick and layered with a cheescake like filling!!! Mamosa's and Bloodies were our bevs.

I love this place. I believe it was a house at one time. The food is very good. They have standard bar food but also some different things. The service has been very good each time we were there. I would recommend this place for something different.

We LOVE this place! It's got that cool vibe captured whether you are inside enjoying the bar or outside in the patio / garden area. Food was wonderful! Come for lunch, dinner or just have a drink with friends ...they supply the atmosphere.

Best food around. italian roast pork delicious. Great food great location, and quaint place to go. Nice outside seating in the good weather.

We have tried this place on several occasions and have had deplorable service. The last time we sat at our table for over 10 minutes waiting for any type of acknowledgement . Finally asked two different staff members for a wait person and still no service. Left once again totally pissed. Would not recommend this place to anyone

My husband and I live about 5 minutes away from here, but we've only just tried it for the first time ever last Friday evening - made me regret not checking this place out years ago when they first opened! The cute, fun outdoor seating area had a long wait time (totally understandable), so we opted to dine inside. Incredibly charming decor, two rooms nicely set up, tables not too close together......we got "bar type" food - their cheesesteak is possibly the best in the tri-state area - yes it was THAT good! My hubby said his burger was good also. He had the Horny Monkey house ale, and I had a couple of martinis -- try the Grape Ape, you won't be disappointed! Everyone from the hostess to the waiter to the busboy was courteous, friendly and helpful. We can't wait to go back again and dine on the patio!

Cute little eatery with vintage decorations. Outside seating in a nice little patio area. The server was friendly and the food was good. I would go back!

I really enjoyed my chicken wrap. The bacon tasted really good. I do think there was more of a choice for dinner options the last time I was there. I also tried some of my husband's fries and meat.

My fiancee and I have stopped here several times since we moved into the Northeast. The outdoor setup is nice, and the food is good. Service as well is good to great on any given day. My chief complaint is the food is WAY overpriced, or more specifically the beer is overpriced. There are a lot of cheaper options in the region that offer quality food, service and ambiance. I would recommend this place though, to gain your own opinion as opposed to just taking mine in this review.

This restaurant does not disappoint for the atmosphere, service and the menu selection. You have a choice to sit outside at the patio/garden area, inside at the dining or the bar area. The menu offers a nice variety. Check the blackboard selection. A recent choice of mako shark with Himalayan rice was delicious.

The whole place is just cool, inside and out. Really like the patio the outside seating is the best. Nicely decorated with the monkey theme mixed with Key West? Who cares its the FOOD! Saturday and Sunday' brunch ROCKS! Often with live music... No hurries no worries, unless its peak dinner time then they have a time limit 1.5 hours for the patio that doesn't always work so beware if you want to hang out. Other than that is fun fun fun. Not cheap but won't rock your wallet either.

Restaurant was great. Was crowded in main dining area with a party so we were in back room. Appetizer crab soufflé was tasty. Sandwiches were huge!! Service quick and our waitress checked on us every few minutes. Cute but small outside bar area. Outside tables were empty because it rained on the day we went but on a nice day would be romantic. Outside bar had covered roof. Definitely on our favorites list!

We had a great meal at three monkey Café. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed all the eclectic monkey artwork. We took a quick tour of the inside bar and dining room. I can’t wait to come back in the fall and winter and enjoy it. Our server, CRYSTAL, did a fantastic job taking care of us and keeping our drinks full. I really loved the primate punch. I am a true rum lover. We just tried five different apps on our first trip here. Everything was really good. We did love the cheesesteak dip with pretzel bites. Delicious. This is a one of a kind location and we loved it. There is parking across the street at the train station parking lot. We paid $2.40 for 24 hour parking… Sign up for the parking app, it is much easier. Enjoy!!!

This bar/restsurant is off the beaten path. Interesting brunch options. Bacon eggrolls and stuffed home fries are delicious. Bloody Mary's were basic but flowing. Caribbeanesque atmosphere, plenty of seating at tables, large bar in the back. In the summer there is an outdoor patio area as well. I'll definitely return. They are closed Monday. Tuesday - Friday open 10a-2a Saturday & Sunday open 8a-2a.

Not the first time we’ve eaten here. Staff is very accommodating! So much fun stuff to look at! Cool and cute outdoor space. My mahi tacos were small but good. My dad and cousin enjoyed their cheesesteak and pork and broccoli rabe sandwiches (big!). We will be back.

Good food and cold beer. Good for family or friends. Go to dinner with the wife here occasionally with no complaints.

Go here to grab a bite to eat with the wife and always have a good time. Also grab some cold beers while waiting for the bus after getting off the train from work. Very nice place, no complaints!

Great atmosphere! Indoor and outdoor dining available, weather permitting. Service was fast, professional and pleasant. Food was excellent. Highly recommend!

Had birthday celebratory lunch with six other relatives on this very hot and humid July day so we ate inside. Did notice that their outdoor seating area was shaded and very inviting. The Dining Room is enchantingly decorated, monkey pictures hanging on the walls but the décor is reminiscent of a Persian dining room, lovely. Our attentive server brought out the amazing salads ordered, appetitzer crab balls, avocado quesadillos and my delicious roast beef sandwich. They allowed us to bring in our own birthday cake and provided plates and forks for serving it. Now I have to bring my husband there to enjoy a meal. There is 3 hour free parking across the street and meter parking as the restaurant is across the street from a train station.

Went there for brunch at 8:30 am on a Saturday with a friend while waiting for our kids during their high school entrance exam. I was afraid we would be the ONLY people in there that early on a Saturday POTENTIALLY ordering a Mimosa but within 15 minutes the place was full and the bar was hopping! The food was INCREDIBLE the kind of decadent brunch goodness you would expect when you have thrown health consciousness to the curb! Highly recommend the loaded home fries and do yourself a favor and order the monkey rolls...even if you can’t finish them they are an amazing reminder of the start to a perfect day with friends at midnight when you heat them up!

Visiting our daughter for her birthday, she recommended 3 Monkeys...we found it was a delightful place out on the patio.

Went here with my wife in St Patrick's Day for afternoon drinks and appetizers. Excellent food, drinks, and service. Life music was awesome too.

Reasonably priced not much off street parking as its next to a train station. The servers were attentive and the service was very good as was the food. there is also an area outside when the weather is nice

Good food, cold beer. Eat in a new victorian dining room, the bar, or outside on the patio. Blackboard special daily. The homemade chips and hot cheese dip is excellant.

We had a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon, and the place was pretty full for the "off" time that it was. The vegetable panini was amazing, and it was great as leftovers as well. Weirdly, it was in the 30s that day and the door to the courtyard was wide open. We got seated right next to the open door, so that made for a chilly meal. Not sure why we were seated there or why it was open?

My husband and I found this restaurant while we were taking a leisurely ride, we were just enjoying the area. We were very impressed with the atmosphere of this restaurant. It was trendy without being overdone. We chose to eat outside in the courtyard, you get the feeling of being in key west; laid back and relaxed. What an oasis tucked away in the city. The food was good and the service was good. We had good food, good service, and relaxing atmosphere. We would definitely return. I did go inside and look around the inside, it is also charming, and has the same character as the courtyard!

Chilly evening on the patio but had excellent hot cider. Crab fondue as an appetizer was delicious. CLBT & honey was good, honey glazed salmon on bed of spinach was a small portion.

i used to take the train to work. this restaurant is across the street from the torresdale station in the far northeast of Philadelphia. it always looked busy so a couple years after they opened it, my husband and i took our grandkids there to eat. the food and service was good. it's a nice (small) restaurant that also has outside seating in a very small (private) courtyard-type setting. it used to be a house. it's on a small one-block, one-way street that has a combination of 2 houses converted into businesses, a train parking lot and an american legion building. it's pretty obscure but easy enough to find.

Great food, outdoor seating. Family friendly, separate dining room from the bar area. Service was good, staff knowledgeable about the specials and the menu items.

Stopped in on New Years' Day (Friday) hoping for their regular "weekend" brunch. They only had the regular menu available. Some folks walked out after hearing the brunch was not being offered. A smug loud waitress chimed in after they left "we are not a diner!" (while wearing a "monkey" t-shirt). Question to Owner: Why not offer brunch on New Years' Day even if it's not the weekend?

Heard about Three Monkeys Cafe from a friend who raves about food. We decided to try it on a cold Saturday afternoon . The cafe was busy but were seated right away. Our waitress was Shannon, and her attention to our table was A+. We had the skin on fries and the Sicilian calamari . Both were excellent. The fries were cooked perfectly, lightly salted and Monkey dip was perfect accompany. The calamari came out hot, tender and served with hot pepper, capers and a garlic broth topped with toasted sesame bread. Delicious ! Due to us being a little Full from app’s, spouse had the French onion soup which was topped with a large amount of lightly fried onion slivers, melted cheese and a thick hearty broth. Was very filling. I had the salmon wrap, filled with fresh fish, greens blue cheese etc. was very good and served with pickle and homemade chips. In summation, the quality of The food and excellent service will ensure a return visit. Will recommend this to others too!

Great stop for relaxing outside. Nice size bar and pretty setting. Food is very good. Don't miss the French Onion Soup!

We had an awesome dinner with friends at Three Monkey's. The Kobe burger was amazing as was the Crab Fondue appetizer. The patio is a great place to dine. The decor is hard to explain but it's sort of crazy, island tropical, quirky monkey. The service was excellent. They have so many things on the menu we want to try. We'll be back again!

I have been to Three Monkeys several times for dinner and have never had a bad meal. Most recent visit was for lunch. As it was a beautiful day we sat outside. Wonderful atmosphere, attentive service and great food.Drinks also good. Inside very victorian decor outside cute and lit up in evenings with an outside bar. Can get very crowed on weekends. Love the Wasabi crab cakes and fries are awesome.Today had santa fe mahi taco's which I loved! My friend had a caprese grilled cheese, but they forgot the basil. Only other complaint is lack of parking during lunch hours. It is across from a train station and had to park 2 blocks away and walk.Never had an issue in the evening.

It's a cool spot for dinner and maybe breakfast if you are not germaphobic, 🤢tables chairs and spice jars are begging to get cleaned 😂or just to get renewed , but the food are great, tasty and you don't really wait long , you can grab a stool at the bar area outside, it has nice lights at night time and tv to watch a game or tv show 🤘

We have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. The food is awesome, the drinks are good, and the place just has a comfy, down-to-earth feel. The Monkey Garden is a great place to hang out in the warmer months. But the breakfast at Three Monkey's is what keeps me coming back!

Came here for lunch with a Groupon. Appetizer of crab dip excellent, sandwiches fresh, good sized and tasty. Monkey bread dessert was sooo good. Can't wAit to return.

Really surprised when my husband and I took our first bites. It's highly unusual for us to return food to the kitchen, but for the ample menu pricing we had to. My husband said he had never been served cold home fries in any restaurant before. Neither had I. We ordered cranberry juice to go with our brunch dish. The beverage had very little cranberry flavor as it was mostly ice. We had to order a second glass each specifying less ice and more cranberry juice. On the whole, it was quite a disappointment as we were looking forward to something special for our Saturday morning breakfast.

We dinner here before a jazz concert at Glen Foerd Mansion. The Three Monkeys is located directly across James Street from the Torresdale Train station on the SEPTA Trenton Line. Funky cool old house with indoor andd outdoor seating. Parking in the adjacent Municipal lot. Our scallops were flavorful and large. They and asparagus we're served over ceramy risotto. Other specials featured various pastas. Our drinks and meals were quickly served by pleasant servers. Think Three Monkeys for that train trip to Torresdale.

Quirky little place right near the Torresdale Train Stop - very different menu, everything I have tried there has been excellent. Always very crowded and noisy...which shows how popular it is. But don't go there for any romantic/intimate meals.

After attending a really nice event at Glen Foerd On The Delaware Historic Riverfront Mansion and Estate I headed over to Three Monkeys Cafe. I really enjoyed my visit here. They were listed as awarded one of the top 30 brunch spots in America. Nice beer and craft beer list and the food was yummy. Here is what I had. Homemade Potato Chips, Wake & Bake Wings topped with crispy applewood smoked bacon and coco maple syrup, and BBQ Burger with sauteed mushrooms, crispy fried onions, smoked mozzarella, chipotle bbq sauce.

What a fun atmosphere! My husband and I met another couple here for dinner on a Saturday evening. I'm glad we made a reservation - it was packed. My husband and I arrived early and had a drink at the bar. The restaurant looks like a hip neighborhood tavern. Monkey decor was all over the place. Adorable! We were seated promptly, and service was very good. We ordered a couple of appetizers to start - volcano shrimp and crab balls. The crab balls were large and delicious. I wasn't crazy about the shrimp - a little too saucy for my taste, and too much batter. For entrees, my husband and our friend had Irish roast beef sandwiches - delicious. Our friend's wife had the blackened mahi tacos, and I had a black and bleu veggie burger. The tacos were large and flavorful. I loved my veggie burger! The sandwich rolls are amazing - as are the chips. We'll definitely be back - a lot of other menu items we'd like to try. And the outdoor patio looks like a fun place to hang out when the weather gets a little warmer.

We went on a weekday around 3. There were a good amount of customers in the restaurant. We chose to sit outside since it was a nice day. The food took really long. I got the fish tacos. It was pretty dry. The cheesesteak my husband got was ok. The fries were undercooked and not crispy at all. The environment is nice for drinks but I don't know if I'd drive out my way to eat here.

We stopped by 3 Monkey's after work yesterday and enjoyed a early dinner at their outside bar in the courtyard - the bar and courtyard remind me of bars in Key West and this is a nice place to relax and enjoy good drinks and really good food. We tried the specials of the day and were not disappointed - Brian the bartender at the Tree Bar outside was prompt, friendly and professional. This is a popular spot for commuters coming home from work becuase the train station is acrosss the street - what is great about 3 Monkey's is that there are 3 different areas to relax and enjoy your drinks or meal - the outside bar and courtyeard - the inside bar and dining area in the bar and a separte dining room on the other side of the inside bar - We will be back soon to try some additional dishes -

I had been wanting to go to Three Monkeys for a while, went there with my friend and it did not dissapoint. They have a good selection of drafts. Wd had the sweet potatoe fries and Primate pretzel for appetizers, they were delicious. They have indoor seating and a cute patio in case you want to sit outside.

The crab balls were wonderful and my scallop salad was quite yummy. The prices were a bit high for a casual lunch stop but it was nice to dine outside. They had about 20 beers to choose from and the waitress was very attentive. Great place to hang out with friends for a casual lunch.

Our waitress was fine. Beer cold. BAD FOOD. Probably won’t go back again. And I think place needs a cleaning ceiling fans were VERY dirty. I rather stay home cook for my family. Where I have a clean environment. Once a year bar & restaurant owners should clean. I wonder what the kitchen looks like.

This is a sort of hidden away spot unless you regularly take the commuter train into town. It's across from a train station. I was told about it by a friend and enjoyed a very fine lunch there. It has an indoor and outdoor seating area. We sat outside. The food is meticulously prepared and delicious. I had the crab cake sandwich, which was a special, and my two friends had wraps. The waitress was friendly and efficient. Now that I know about it and where it is I will definitely be back. I want to try a burger, because I heard that is a specialty. Pricing is not cheap, but I consider it quite reasonable for the quality of the food you're getting. One caution. During the day parking can be an issue. There are several free, limited time spots, but if they're taken up then you have to park in the train lot, and those can be completely filled if you're going for lunch. Don't let this discourage you from going; you'll find a spot and the food is worth it.

So much fun what a great day at 3 monkeys with family and friends!! Photo Booth best part of day such a blast. Great day!❤️❤️

This smallish restaurant has a nice patio and eclectic interior. TV if you are a sports fan, outside on the patio for visiting, or in the more formal dining room. Can get really really busy, so best to go in off hours. Good food; obviously a favorite with the locals.

I have never NEVER had a good waitress at this place. The food is good, I have actually never had a bad meal here. I don’t recommend eating inside it’s very dark. But aside from that it’s a good bar. However, the waitress are awful. They could careless if you would like another drink to order more food. I just can not express how bad the service is here.

So, in honor of hub's 45th birthday, we gathered the family and went to Three Monkeys for a celebratory brunch.... Let me throw in here that hubs has an affinity for our primate friends, so it seemed right! Anyway, I was thrown (in a good way) by their brunch menu. Anybody can get regular old eggs anywhere, BUT, where can you find Bacon Eggrolls? Or Stuffed Homefries?? Can't name anywhere, can you? That's ok, because thus place offers a very eclectic and enticing selection of palate pleasers! I had the Shingled Burrito - scrambled eggs and homefries in a wrap and topped with creamed chipped beef - with a nice handful of crispy fried onions on top! Delicious!!!! Everyone in our party was the quietest they'd been in a while because they were too busy eating and enjoying! Looking forward to going back and doing dinner there in a couple of weeks, so I'll fill you in!

Worth the train from center city, this cozy neighborhood bar and restaurant has all the charm of a proper pub. Located directly across the street from the Torresdale Train station, you can walk right over and have a drink at the Monkey Court which is courtyard bar that makes you feel like you are sipping your margarita in Key West. There is also a charming dining room with a fireplace and a lively indoor bar area you can watch a game. Children are most welcome. The menu is wonderful, however the house wine and the salads are lacking. This is not a place you come to on a diet. We are Philadelphia natives and foodies and have decided Three Monkeys to have the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia. It's high quality meat seasoned to perfection on what can only be a fresh bakes South Philadelphia roll. The cheese is also high quality and topped with frizzled onions - there is no comparison. It some sizzling hot as well. Best. Ever.

Good food, reasonable prices, great atmosphere, funky decor. Out of the way location, but easy to find. Worth a trip to eat here.

Great Irish themed bar, especially on St. Patricks Day....good food,,great beer selection,,,friendly environment....and frequent guest bands.......

At 1:00 on a Monday we asked to be seated inside. The food was good, but the service left much to be desired. While the restaurant was pretty empty our waitress was nowhere to be found. When the food arrived and wasn't right ( a cheese steak that was suppose to have extra cheese had no cheese or peppers and pickles on the side) overall "today" seemed like a bad day to get a beer OR mediocre service! AND the waitress talked way too fast with a lot of excuses.

Without Three Monkeys, NE Philadelphia would have no restaurants worth visiting. Being a NE Philly deserter (forgive me for having standards when eating), when returning to the NE to visit family Three Monkey's is a great spot for chow and beer, both of which are outstanding and affordable. The service is also great. Regardless of there being absolutely no competition I have no doubt that Three Monkeys would stand well on its own against the many Center City establishments as well as those in South Philly, Chestnut Hill etc. Thank goodness someone in NE Philly has vision enough to provide quality food.

We always like the food here but were disappointed that they would not take a reservation for 17 people for brunch. We cannot chance imposing on everyone in our group waiting for seats for that many people so we have to go elsewhere(their loss)

Met up with a friend for brunch. Plenty of spots to lock your bicycle up if you’re a cyclist. The food selections are good. I had the Scrapple Sliders, a water and a bourbon. Very good on all counts. My friend had the breakfast tacos and a Corona. Again all good. If you’re looking to gorge yourself, this is probably not the place. We were looking for good food with a good atmosphere. This was that place. Food was not greasy like most places offering the “gorge” option. Server was attentive and food came out fast

Went this past Sunday with my son and our waitress (first initial D) was awful - took order, brought coffee and disappeared. My meal came, but not my sons - hmm, don't know what happened - didn't print out. Will be a few 'seconds'. Asked to take my food back and bring new for both. 20 minutes later, where's our waitress and the food. She walked by 2x, and I called to her - no response. My son asked the busboy for a manager. Came back a couple minutes later saying there wasn't any on duty - should be here shortly. Finally brought food out. Had to ask for 2nd cup of coffee. Again. From busboy as waitress wasn't around. After asking him, she came over and said, oh, you want more coffee? Food wasn't worth it at that point - even with the discount she added. No manager ever came around. Get your customer service together Monkeys and train your people! Maggies is right around the corner. Have been here many times, but this left a bad taste. Will be a while before I come back.

The 3 Monkeys is a great casual place to grab a drink with friends of alone, with the outside garden seating it makes for a relaxing evening.

The food was over salted, over cooked, basically not good enough to give to my ex-wife. They menu was revamped, and apparently the chef was replaced. It's pretty sad, the place was awesome, now its just gross And still over priced

Great place to get a meal and drinks on a Friday after a long work week. Patio bar & seating reminds you of a shore atmosphere. Food selection should fit most eaters, however the server was less than interested in working. We'll be back, but not sit in the station of the recent server.

Excellent place for great drinks and brunch. You will not be disappointed! Highly recommend the bloody Mary's. We had the chipped beer covered burrito and black and blue burger. Excellent food and service!

Had a late lunch here. Food and service were great. It has tables outside too. Large bar area. Nice menu- mostly pub food- burgers, wraps, salads Portions are large and the food was good. Staff was attentive.

I informed the waiter I had food allergies and asked if the cheese and wheat couscous could be omitted if I ordered the salmon fillet, was told 'no problem'. Dinner arrived covered in cheese and was returned to the kitchen, while the rest of our party of six ate. What came back the second time was a very small, over cooked salmon, mushy spinach, no grape tomatoes or quinoa and about a half cup of.....wheat couscous. The waiter was very apologetic, took the dish away and off the bill. I declined a third try and will NEVER go back again. It is not worth the potential asthma attack. If you have food allergies, AVOID THIS RESTAURANT!!!

Visited the Three Monkees on a busy Friday night last weekend. My wife and daughter had been there via their friend who lives in the area. What a great place. An interesting food menu and super bar selection. The servers were all great and kept things moving. Our appetizer came out so fast, we all thought it was a mistake; but it wasn't. Tried the crab balls ($10). Nice large philly style crab cakes. Although philly isn't known for it's crab, these were the 2015 version of homemade cakes, reminding me of Mrs Paul's crab cakes my mom would serve once in a while when I was a kid. They have a little bite to them and won me over after we quickly finished the plate of them. I ordered a cheese steak, which of course is a philly institution. I first thought wow $11 for a cheese steak, but when it came, it was worth every penny. Hot off the grill with the right amount of cheese and great fried onions. The twist here is the roll. Like the menu boasted, an 11" sandwich served on a sesame style steak roll. Loved it! Have had a million steaks in my time, but this one ranks right at the top! Only ate half of it and finished the rest the next day. It tasted great even reheated, which is not the norm. I appreciated the tender meat they use as I really got a better look at it the second time around. Really, really good. The wife who was treating me to start our Father's Day weekend ordered the salmon over spinach. She said it was great. I'm not a salmon guy,but did have the sauted spinach part. Once again, delicious. Al dente with garlic, it was great. Had a Guiness ($5) and the wife had a cinnamon crunch shot also $5. Some kind of thing they make there. Not for me but I do think the ladies will enjoy this. It is different and served up in a large shot glass. Ate at the bar even though there is a nice outside area. Rain seemed imminent and didn't want to be caught so we opted to eat inside in the AC. Sitting at the bar, near the service station we could see the staff interact. They were fun to watch and were all on top of their game. The oldest gentleman working the bar was a model all young barkeeps should be so lucky to be around. A real pro. My hat's off to the Three Monkeys. Conviently located by the Torresdale train stop. Thank goodness I don't take that train, because I'd have to stop everyday at 5pm to check out the Monkey. You should too!

Good food. Quirky, fun decor. Decent service, but suggest not going with a group, even during the day on a weekday when the restaurant isn't busy. Despite being told in an email by Ben Andersen, the general manager, "We will be able to host you if your group is still interested. However, we only do check split up to 4 ways at tables." Instead of any check splitting, no separate checks were permitted for two rows of tables of 18 people, all of us on one check and an automatic 20% gratuity was added.

This is a great place to go to in Northeast Philly to meet friends after work for dinner and drinks. The decor is very eclectic and they always have good music playing on their sound system. There is a wide selection of appetizers and blackboard specials to choose from. The outside patio is like an oasis during the warm weather months! Any time I want to get together with friends, this is my go to spot. 3 Monkey's Cafe has a very warm and friendly ambiance and that is why I think it is an excellent place to check out.

Went there for Mothers Day brunch. They place was packed, so we had to eat at the bar. There is a lot of items on the menu that looked good, so making a decision was difficult. They have lots of craft beers & many specialty cocktails. She had : Put Some Meat on those Bones!...$14 House Shredded Corned Beef, Hash Browns & Onions, 2 Sunny Side Up Eggs I had: Chef Beth’s Lobster Mac n’ Fries – Lobster, Secret Cheese Sauce, Home Fries, Scallions, Buttered Breadcrumbs ...$18 Both were excellent & every lady received along stem rose.

I went to Three Monkeys on Saturday morning for brunch with my girlfriends. Luckily the weather was nice and we had the opportunity to sit outside. Their outdoor seating has a nice ambience, with table umbrellas and string lights. The waiter was attentive, frequently checking on us and refilling our drinks. I ordered the Cinna-roll stuffed toast, which was two slices of thick cut French toast with a Cinnabon like cream in between. It was delicious! I would highly recommend this location for brunch. Try and sit outside if it's a nice day!!

We are spoiled by NY restaurants. And this this one can take place one of them easy. Service is even too fasts. Food is really good and portions are big. We spent 100$ for 3 people and took some food to go.

Food always good, very crowded though, esp. after work. Def. need to expand!!! Perfect outdoor spot in Summertime, indoor too small, and dimly lit :( Menu is good, staff is ok, but ONLY cool spot outdoors in N.E.! Need more of these types of spots here in N.E. !

I go to this bar often but I have never eaten there. Sunday I had the time to stop in after the game for a bite and a beer. I have the Irish Roast Beef Sandwich. It's a monster of a sandwich and plenty filling. The Monk as my friends call it, is a great place for happy hour, to watch a game or to just go hang with friends. The patio is great if the weather is nice.
What a Crab Shot ???!!!!!
The atmosphere is awesome, they have tables outside in the courtyard area. The decor is really unique. All of the appetizers were delicious, & I recommend a monkey tea monkey do cocktail. The Mahi Mahi tacos were not good, no flavor!!! Several of our entrées were not that good, they were just okay! I would definitely recommend doing the crab shot if you love crabs, it is a bloody Mary with a lump of crab meat in there with spices on the rim of the shot glass delicious. Unbelievable taste like I've never had before. Whoever thought of that was a pure genius!! I would go back just for appetizers and drinks.
