Great food, server friendly but service is SLOW. .;....……....................................................

New in town, staying at Embassy Suites nearby, and had no idea where to eat. Not a fan of fast food, which is in abundance in this neighborhood, nor am I a fan of the "sports bar" burgers, beers, and fries concept. What to do? Checked my trusty Yelp app, and noted the many 4-5 star reviews of this place--they didn't steer us wrong! Menu is interesting and offers something for everyone, and there are lots of fun $5 appetizers at Happy Hour. We tried the fried green tomatoes, and a yummy flatbread pizza that featured kale, figs, blue cheese, and a sweet fennel/balsamic/olive oil glaze--so good!! Our "neighbors" at the bar got the calamari and the Korean-fried chicken--which they enjoyed. Many around us were doing the sushi thing--loads of choices here in that department. Husband got the Filet, I tried the Cedar Plank Smoked Salmon--both excellent! Our bartender, originally from Albania, was so much fun to talk to. We'd return here the next time we're in the neighborhood. Highly recommend Chef Justin's cuisine for anyone staying in this part of Atlanta or coming in for a concert/convention, or sporting event. This is a gem in the downtown neighborhood.

Went on Saturday night 7:30 and surprisingly the place was D E A D. Our server Errikah was great and spent plenty of time chatting with us about all kinds of things and made some good dish recommendations. She suggested the short rib app which did not disappoint at all. Ordered several rolls which were all professionally prepared with fresh sushi coupled with a nice presentation. I was a little surprised their overall sushi offering was not as extensive as I would have expected. Basic rolls and the bare basic for negri sushi. Thrive does have quite a selection of is Saki. Final tally for two with 2 cocktails, one large Saki and 6 rolls, with tip $135.00.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around looking for a place for dinner. Liked the simple but inspired decor and the varied menu. Shared a starter of eggplant humus followed by a burger, a grouper sandwich, and a cobb salad as mains. Portions were huge and everything we ordered was tasty. The salad had a heap of grilled chicken on top which is not always the case! Service was friendly and prompt without being intrusive.

The food at this restaurant is quite good. From the appetizers to the entrees, everything we had was good and presentable. There was even a good wine list. Our waiter Joe was very personable, too. The problem we had was that, despite the restaurant not being very crowded when we were there, our entrees were delivered less than one minute after our salads and appetizers had been placed on the table. You don't want to send back the food, but you are there to enjoy your meal. If I wanted fast food, we would not need to throw out a couple of hundred dollars. The fast delivery set a tone for the meal, which was not good and certainly not necessary. If it would have been mobbed, I would understand this issue, although I would not approve of it. But it wasn't crowded. This leads me to give it a lower rating than I might if just focused on the food. The experience was, at best, okay.

Attended a trade show at the convention center with all its poor quality and unhealthy food with long lines. Remembered having dinner at Thrive last year and took the extra time to walk there. What a lunch!! The salmon sandwich was to die for! Great service, friendly smile and the food a delight.

Our dinner meal was ok. Choices we saw on the website were not available; disappointing. The fried chicken was flat; we thought it might be frozen. The tuna was better but not memorable and it's side rice accompaniment was out of stock. While the place was not busy (7:00 mid-week), Thrive Also appeared to be short on staff. As a result, it took a half an hour to place our order and a good while to get fed. While nothing was wrong, there is no reason to return in a competitive market.

Great place to eat..awesome food..good service. The only issues I have with it is their hours of operation..they need to stay open longer

Had a business dinner here and I did enjoy what I had. Apps were very tasty , would go just for those, diner was good, not great. They have a large sushi menu and those in our party that had that, seemed to enjoy those meals more then those who did not. Drinks were fun and they have a nice variety of them, most come in very cool glasses. Our waiter was very good, attentive and friendly. It's worth a try if in the area

If you like a little island flava you'll enjoy Thrive on a Saturday night. Good music, with a mix of soca....reggae....and more. There's a good crowd too. Be prepared to sweat on the dance floor!!!

When I visit Atlanta I expect flavorful food and great service. I can't say I really had either. The service was mediocre; few smiles, not exactly friendly. I did not go for the sushi so can't speak on that; the rest of the food was pretty good but some was lacking. The smoked salmon and rocket salad were delicious but...the southern style grits were not southern style - lacking in taste and very disappointing, and the crunchy broccoli; not so crunchy - just basic steamed broccoli with a few cashews thrown in. The menu was a hodgepodge and I think they really excel more in the Japanese cuisine and less in the Americana. Unfortunately, I have had better. Also, not a great place for a business dinner - very loud and dim; it was hard to hear the conversation. It's not a bad restaurant it just didn't meet my expectations. This is more a social, upscale bar scene in my opinion and those eating with me said the sushi was very good.

The service was excellent and the fact that you get free parking down town is big plus. The sushi was excellent! I had the signature steak as main. The protein was good quality, but as feedback the chef, you do not need a spicy rub when you have a premium piece of meet that has flavor in itself. The desert was a bit over advertised, but ok. The expression was ok, but not fresh beans and machine has too little pressure to really get all the coffee oils from the beans leaving it a bit watery, but again what you would generally expect.

I was traveling alone on business and chose Thrive because of the interesting looking menu, and the fact that I could walk to it from my hotel. I went on a Wednesday night, at about 8pm and it was not overly crowded. There were a few other groups there, and I did not feel out of place eating solo. For drinks, they have a nice beer and wine menu. I found something from each that was nice. I had the roasted beet salad to start, and beets were well represented but not overpowering. Worth getting. Side dishes are interesting and reasonably priced, so I ended up getting two of them. The first was broccoli with cashews. which was steamed and not drowned in oil or butter. My other side dish was brussels sprouts with a honey glaze/sauce and while they were sweeter than I usually like, they tasted fine. For my main dish, I got the salmon which was high quality and prepared perfectly. I did not try the dessert (mainly because of the two sides, when I usually only have one and was full), but I suspect it would have been good. The waitress was super nice, and made me feel welcome and comfortable while eating alone. Sometimes when eating alone the staff either leaves you alone entirely or checks on you too frequently, but I got the Goldilocks treatment here - just right. Environment-wise, I didn't feel this place was too loud, but again it wasn't completely full when I was there, so maybe the dynamic is different on say, a Friday night. I would recommend this for business travelers, or a couple that wants a quality meal at a price that is fair.

Let me start by saying...I don't eat seafood but I love sushi (the irony). So when a sushi restaurant recognizes fans like me - they are winners. Many restaurants offer boring cucumber or avocado rolls but not Thrive - there's a friend chicken option. Yep, Colonel Sanders would be proud and it was delicious. Trying to convince my restaurant at home to at it too their menu. The average rating comes from the service - it was mediocre especially when the annual convention is in town just blocks away...it happens every year, please staff for it. Our server brought the wrong appetizer and the sushi did take a significant amount of time to prepare.

As this restaurant is known for their sushi I was sure any of their cooked fish dishes would be the best. I was not mistaken. The salmon entree was the best in the city. Sorry, had to say that as Atl has some of the best seafood places ( going coastal comes to mind and The Lawrence). My husband does not like salmon so much but when he tasted it, he was hooked, no pun intended. We got a groupon for it and can not wait to go back Calamari was also amazing and enough to share and then some..

This is a very good sushi restaurant in ATL. The reason for this review is to urge you to order the vegetables tempura appetizer. They look and sound weird - squid ink-in-color. This is the best tempura dish of anything I’ve ever had. And I am NOT a vegan/vegetarian.

Attempt #1 Dinner- 25 minutes after being seated by the hostess we were never given water or asked about beverages. There wasn't a wait and the place was not full. We attempted to wave someone down but were ignored. We had questions because our menus didn't match in offerings or prices. We finally gave up and left Attempt #2 Lunch- 45 minutes after being seated at a dirty table we were told we couldn't be served at the table we had been seated at (they put us there). It would be an additional wait to be seated at in another area. Again we gave up.

We sat for an hour before our food arrived and watched people come and go within that time. When our food did arrive, two of our party of seven had to wait another 15 minutes. The food was great. The manager offered an apology and desserts, which took another 20 minutes to arrive!

My family and I were traveling through Atlanta on our way to Orlando, FL and stayed downtown. We did a TripAdvisor search for restaurants nearby and Thrive was one result. After seeing the menu we had to give them a try. We all tried something different, sushi, mac&cheese, and roasted leg of lamb sandwich. We were all very satisfied with the food. In addition to the food I had a cocktail called "The Cure", it was made very well. Our server Jerel was awesome, excellent service, great personality, and all around fun to talk to. Chef Ryan has something magical going on here. We will certainly return. Visiting Atlanta, GA? You must try Thrive!

We made reservations on Open Table and walked from our hotel to Thrive, only to be told there was a huge party going on and they didn't have a table for us. However, IMMEDIATELY after we were given the bad news, the manager whisked us to the bar treating us to drinks and an appetizer for FREE. We then so cozy in the bar area, we stayed their for our actual meal which was very yummy. They handled this difficult situation in such a great way. I will definitely go back, and recommend Thrive to my friends.

Had the Dragons Breath Roll and it was amazing and quite delish! It even looked like a dragon! My fiancee had the turkey club which was also very good. My son had the burger and it was good.

My sister and I ate a late dinner before seeing Justin Timberlake at State Farm Arena. The restaurant was humming with activity due to the other concert-goers and shoppers in town for the America’s Mart. Because of the influx of people, they sold out of the burrata appetizer we had eyed and had a 45 minute wait for sushi. I opted for the burger with a side of lemon Parm fries (yum!) and my sister had the salmon. Both were very good. Very busy restaurant, cool vibe, trendy, but not uppity. Give it a try if you’re in the area. I’d return!

It would be easy to describe this restaurant right in the heart of downtown Atlanta near Philips Arena as hip chic elegant or contemporary. We did the $48 Groupon visit which turned out to be a spectacular value for a first time test run to their place. Everything was For Real! The wine list commendable, the Chef was present and accounted for..sending out food Hot and Crispy..nothing sat dying in the window here... (kudos)...the menu had a smattering of everything across a broad range of culinary flavors..no matter what tribe you belong to (vegan, carnivore, glutenfreer) there was some good stuff on the menu for all. We had the Mountain Spring Farm Fried chicken.. Which was so tender juicy and delectable I refused to eat it all just so that I could take some home for later. It came with sauteed collard greens and a large macaroni and cheese individual dished and a little pot of sauce for the chicken. Happy had the 100% Angus beef fillet +++ TENDER+++and sort of a little salad on the side with pomme frites ( fancy French fries) We ordered Reisling and Caventina Moscato. Dessert was vanilla bean Panna Cotta topped with blue and black berries. Perfect. Hats off to the chef for the richness and decadence of the panna cotta. Having a contemporary restaurant half a block from McCormick and Schmicks you know that you have to represent and I would have to say wholeheartedly the chef at Thrive does a wonderful job. OK have to do the downside...no bread offered and the waitstaff, though bubbly and well-informed of the menu was apparently in no hurry. That said, we still would go back..maybe we don't need to be in a rush so much anyway....this was a very upscale and slick place to chill out.

The meal was good. The pot stickers were delicious. The room was a bit on the chilly side but overall we had a good experience. From my understanding, it turns into a night club after hours on the weekend. We did not stay for that so I can't comment on that portion. It's worth a try and the prices are appropriate.

Went here with friends. The service was a little off, waiter did not seem to know the menu, seem surprised that we were just going to do sushi, when the menu is 90% sushi. Overall he did a good job, but slow and not very attentive. The sushi was roughly done, presentation is not everything, but this was passed into the quality and the taste. They were just average sushi, by no means anything special. Room was very cold, by the window it would appear that one air conditioning unit feeds the whole place and blows right down on the booth. Wouldn't suggest this or go back. Needs some work.

I booked a table for 8 for dinner before a concert at Phillips arena. It is a short walk to the arena from the restaurant. Dinner was wonderful~ everyone enjoyed their food and the drinks were great as well. They have much more than sushi but with the creative rolls even the non-sushi diehards enjoyed sushi for dinner. Could not have worked out better for us. Everyone at the restaurant was great! We had a 5:30 reservation and with typical Atlanta traffic issues, almost everyone in our party was a little late but they saved our table. Service was wonderful. What a great start to a fun evening! Would absolutely come back next time we head into town for a concert.

In town for business and walked past this restaurant and saw sushi on someone’s table and decided to walk I for take out. Everyone was super friendly. Ordered and didn’t have to wait too long. The sushi and edamame was delicious. This is a must try.

the restaurant was nice, but the service was nonexistent. The wait for drinks and food were bordering on completely absurd. I think at one point the manager was taking our food order. The fish sandwich was very good, but I wouldn't run back for that.

Light, airy and charming service at the bar. Excellent burger at a very reasonable price. Unlike many of the other bars you could hear yourself speak at this one.

I had read some reviews (I try to take them lightly because you never know when a restaurant had an off day or someone was just begging to complain) and I had asked around. When I tried to make a reservation for Friday night (on Tuesday) I was told the location was already booked unless we wanted to eat dinner at 3pm. So I decided on Thursday... The young lady that greeted us was nice and seated us promptly. When the gentleman came to take our order it was apparent he knew nothing about the menu. The sake the waiter recommended was terrible. We almost left right then. However, we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Our appetizer was decent. Then our 3 rolls sushi arrived. They were poorly arranged, they all tasted the same, and they were terrible. It was truly the worst sushi I have ever had in my life. We each ate about 3 pieces before we could not stomach any more. The waiter and the manager took notice of our full plate. We were asked if it was too much food. When I explained that we were not satisfied with the quality of the meal, we were given an "aw" and the bill. Full price and not cheap. Needless to say I will not be a repeat customer and I will NEVER recommend this establishment to anyone.

One word Pseudo Sushi Limited menu Most items are fried (fried tomatoes) Modern vibe Food is not what I will go specially for Like an upscale Applebees

I ordered my lunch online. Went over to pick up at designated time. And of course, I literally had to wait 35 minutes for my to go order which was a burger and sushi. This is the 3rd time this has happen. Although this place is convenient to where I work, its not worth the poor wait time with no apology. 35 MINUTES......EACH TIME!! NO THANKS!

We have visited this restaurant before and we were impressed with the service and food. This time we felt very rushed despite our reservation being at 8.15, which I don’t consider late. By the end of the meal they were telling us the kitchen was closing even though it was only 9.30. I had a lamb sandwich which was incredibly tough. We all left feeling disappointed.

This place was recommended by a coworker. At first glance on the online menu, it seemed more like a sushi spot. It is so much more!! The calamari appetizer had great flavor and texture. The salmon entree was excellent with the glazing and spiralized veggies. Oh and you have to save room for the creme brûlée with Heath Bar. All in all great spot with wonderful, knowledgeable service.

We bought a groupon for 4 and had a great experience at Thrive! We had not heard of it, but reviews were decent so why not?! Host was friendly as well as the bartender. Our server was wonderful, Pierre, and was just perfectly attentive and friendly. Our food was fantastic and the drinks great as well. We had the calamari and beef wraps as well as the duck, filet and salmon and all of us were happy with our food. The fries too....YUM! Dessert was just right...flour less chocolate cake and and a berry custard. We got the impression that the staff were all glad we stopped in to eat..even with a groupon. Saving this place for a future visit! A+

Very happy with my decision to eat dinner at TRIVE. I took advantage of their Happy Hour menu and was very pleased and ultimately very satisfied. The bartender was very helpful and friendly. I will definitely return when in the ATL again.

Reasonably priced restaurant in downtown Atlanta. The food was very good. Service was good and quick.

We live in NC and bought a Groupon based on friends recommendation of this restaurant. This restaurant had had a very good ambiance, but he staff and management was AWFUL!!! We went out as a celebration for a family member's birthday that turned into a bad Birthday experience. It 1st started with the hostess and ended with the management and security. They closed the kitchen at 10pm to stack the chairs and tables for the club that starts at 11pm! We had the Filet that was cold, they ran out of Salmon and the Duck was cold and $10 for kids Chicken Fingers!!!! Never Again!!! I would not recommend this to friends or family!!! This place is more interested into becoming a nightclub/lounge than a restaurant and it's a shame. While we were there, they brought the speakers in for the club, kinda rushing us out. Not Kid friendly at all.

Great sushi, great service. The staff was very quick and we were never left waiting. The food was great, but not expensive.

My husband and I checked it out one Friday night and the food was amazing. Even my super picky husband was impressed. The manager stopped by and was super friendly and suggested a drink he'd come up with that was spicy and delicious; perfect for me. Our server was knowledgeable and never had us waiting on anything. I really liked the ambiance of the place. Quite romantic for a couple yet we considered reserving the lounge part for a birthday party because it appeared to be great for groups too. It's definitely one of the Atlanta restaurants I like most. We will be back!

Thrive is a great restaurant right in downtown Atlanta. Nice atmosphere, friendly servers, and amazing food. It is not crazy expensive, although the wine is pricey. Overall, a nice treat for special occasions.

We stopped by for business lunch on the recommendation of a colleague. We both had salads and a couple of sides. All of the food was excellent. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is due to the hostess being extremely rude. - I've hosted and waited tables. You don't get to scowl at guests, refuse to interact, and toss them in a table. My patience is pretty high generally, but she needs to find an attitude adjustment and another line of work. - There was also an off-putting smell in the restaurant like it was in desperate need of a deep cleaning.

Had an excellent dinner with work associates at Thrive. The Fried Chicken and Shrimp and Grits were very memorable. Excellent service, moderate prices and good wine and beer selection. Close to GWCC and downtown hotels.

Not very impressed with the 3 sushi items ordered, had the spider roll, thrive special and passion roll. Did not enjoy any of the 3 and costly for the portion. Seemed popular with locals so maybe other menu items make the draw for those in the know .

I have eaten at Thrive several times and each and every time I go here I am not disappointed. This restaurant is within walking distance from my office which is right in the heart of Downtown Atlanta on Marietta Street. The atmosphere is nice and inviting and it is small but not too small. I definitely recommend this restaurant. Foods I recommend: Blackened Atlantic Salmon sandwich with fries Sushi - Rainbow Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Dragon's Breath Fried Green Tomatoes Crispy Calamari They have really good salads as well

My husband and I were wandering around trying to find somewhere for dinner, and checked on OpenTable and made a quick, last minute reservation. And I am so glad we went here as it ended up being the best meal we had in Atlanta. We both started the meal with drinks, which were a little slow to make their way to our table: Mango Altissima for me and Saffire Affair (had fresh jalapeno) for my husband. We generally get different meals when we are out so we can sample 2 different things but we both wanted the same thing: Lowcountry style scallops and grits with pan fried house cured pork belly, corn, and tomato. It was fantastic! The scallops were perfectly seared, the pork belly was a nice surprise and the grits were delicious - it's the first time I really liked grits.

Giving a tip by a local wine & food hipster that the place was one to visit while in downtown Atlanta - Good food here - lead chef Justin Cox treated us right!

The food here is a little over the top, the green fried tomatoes are smothered in a peculiar tasting sauce, the edamame is bathed in sesame oil and the wedge salad is romaine rather than iceberg. The sushi was fine, but not amazing. Our server was fantastic and we were able to eat before a concert without a reservation, which was a huge plus! We probably won’t be back though….

Excellent food and variety. Get anything from Fried Chicken to Sushi. All meals we had were excellent! 100% recommended!!!

We decided to ignore reviewers who complained about the service and seating issues, and checked to see if they had any tables on a Saturday night. Considering we were checking for reservations at 7:42pm, we felt pretty lucky, especially because the conference center is so close, and there was a concert downtown too. We were very pleasantly surprised by immediate seating, pleasant wait staff, and great sushi. Admittedly, they had a couple of glitches, but none that posed a problem for us. The food runner tried to deliver the wrong food to us twice, and part of our order was wrong, but it was quickly fixed, and they offered us a free dessert, which we decided against. We had a dragon roll and a crunch roll, and some broccoli with cashews and some braised rib wraps. The sushi was really good, and it felt good to get some fresh broccoli in this land of southern cooking! The restaurant is quite trendy, and loud, but in a good way. They have an amazingly diverse staff of characters. All very helpful.

The food was excellent. They have an extensive sushi menu, my daughter had sushi and it was very good. My husband had a kale cesare salad and salmon which were both good. I had shrimp and grits, since we were visiting the south. All around we were very pleased. The decor is very nice with really cool lighting. The service was excellent.

Loved the simplicity of the interior design of the restaurant. The food was exquisite! We had calamari and dumplings to start both of which we're done to perfection. The main was a steak for myself which with the suggestion of medium doneness turned out to be a lovely shade of pink in the centre. Service was quick and efficient...if you travel to Atlanta definitely make this one of your dining experiences...

The service here is like non other. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left. The staff treated it's guests like royalty. The best sushi I've eaten in a long while. Our waiter made several suggestions off the menu and he did not disappoint. Being new to area. I was given several recommendations of places to see & dine.

I have stumbled into this little jewel using a local search whilst on business. I have to say my expectations were low after review the menu online in that the pricing seemed far to low for the surrounding area. I ordered the Cobb salad and a side of Honey and Vinegar Brussels sprouts. Let’s start with the salad - thoughtful, fresh, balanced and impeccably presented. The Brussels Sprouts were a real shocker probably because I couldn’t quite wrap my head around what the heck it was. Note: if you don’t like Brussels Sprouts this might change your mind. There was a red pepper flake - likely chili or similar to add just a touch of spice to it. This dish has inspired me to grow Brussels sprouts in my garden. The facility was clean without table clothes but clothe napkins. Service was prompt and patient. Very nice with a Asian flare sort of...

We chose this location for a Saturday night dinner. I understand it gets packed but I guess it was our lucky evening because it was empty! Nicely decorated. We were seated right away. For our appetizer we ordered the House Smoked Salmon, with Greek Yogurt Tzatziki, and House Chips and the Cucumber and Crab Salad. For our meal we had 3 different types of sushi which was all really good. We had some white wine and enjoyed the food and service by Carlos, our waiter who was very pleasant. Like a block away you see the Ferris Wheel which we got on around midnight. Long lines but it went by fast. I recommend this place if you're in Downtown Atlanta.

A larger group of us dined. The service was okay, but our waitress was quite rude at times. The Calamari was delicious and so were the lemon/ Parmesan French fries. The MAC and CHEESE was fabulous. Three people ordered the filet and all three were way overcooked. We waited so long for our food to be remade the rest of the group was ready to go. We were all charged the full amount of our meal with no offer to discount anything. Customer service was lacking, but the majority of the food was great.

I had dinner at Thrive while on a trip to Atlanta. I tried the fried chicken sushi and it was fantastic. The place looked nice and it's in a great location on the corner of Centennial Olympic Park near Phillips Arena.

When we arrived for our 6:15 reservation we were told to give them 10-15 minutes. We went to the bar and were lucky enough to find 2 chairs as the place was packed. The restaurant was running way behind and they had not come to get us at 6:45 so we just ate at the bar.Very busy and we just barely made our concert around the corner at 8:00. My wife ordered the fried chicken breast with Mac and cheese and loved it. I had a sashimi platter and it was good.

Cool place and pretty close to Mercedes Benz Stadium. The placed was packed for the Peach Bowl but service was quick and responsive. The burger and sushi were excellent!

Dinner here is very tasty. The rolls are wonderful and fresh tasting. The lamb and duck are very well prepared and tasty. Nice atmosphere and service is good as well.

we dine out a lot and are not very critical when it comes to service, but this was the worst we've had in a very long time. our waiter seemed annoyed to be working....took over 28 minutes for our drinks to come....someone dropped a pitcher of water on the floor behind us and exploded up in the air and all over our table and no one seemed to care. we yelled out to the waiter as he waled away, he turned looked at it and said...yeah I know...the table behind ours even felt some of the spray. a while later some young server came and apologized but thats it!! food was good not great but never again

We've been there for a business dinner. Very nice food a mix of japanese and steak house. The staff was very friendly. Highly recommended

What a pleasant surprise not far from the hotel! Thrive is living up to its name. From the entrance, and greeting from the very friendly staff, you're transported to great ambience and great food. Well this has some American fare and some fusion, it also has great sushi so affords something for everyone. In town for meeting has been going for a while and was recommended from the hotel staff I was staying at about two blocks away. And I'm glad I went. Got to split with business associates the DL special, the Thrive special, and California roll. All were excellent. Highly recommend the Thrive special - it had a great taste in just enough spice and heat to make it flavorful. You will not go wrong going to this place it is worth the trip!

I booked this restaurant for some business associates while attending our annual woodworking convention and for some customers from a small town in southern Missouri. Needless to say I did not pay close enough attention to the menu when making the reservation and was very concerned the menu was to sophisticated for my steak loving customers. I told them I thought the restaurant was upscale southern cooking, not sushi. We had an outstanding meal, the service was good, the food different and delicious and the customers who ordered the steaks complimented that the steak was better than the restaurant the previous night. I would recommend thrive to all even if u do not like sushi.

Went for Dinner with my wife on a Saturday evening.pre-booked our table on line without any problems. Restaurant was relaxed atmosphere with mixed aged patrons.Specialist sushi dishes but menu had a few meat options as well. Also had a good range of salads and appetisers available. The service was excellent and all food good at reasonable prices. There is only a limited dessert choice for those with a sweet tooth, but would recommend the creme brûlée.

The atmosphere is pretty cool...maybe it gets a better bar crowd later in the evening. We were there for dinner around 7:30 and the place was almost empty. However our service was rather slow. Our food was okay, not great. Probably waited 30 minutes to get our check. Perhaps it is better for sushi.

It was rainy so we opted not to go to CNN center or other outside eateries. Thrive was in the bldg we were meeting at. The decor is upscale & contemporary - the staff seemed to match. I had A chicken sandwich w/a tomato aioli on ciabatta bread & a side of fries. The sandwich was a pleasant surprise - very tasty! The fries were good as well. Downside was it was a little slow for our 1hour lunch & itvwasnt because it was crowded. I prob wouldn’t request to go there again but would have no problem, if someone else did !

I was there with my wife celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary. The restaurant had good ambiance and friendly service. The food was very good. I had a non-alcoholic mojito which was very tasty. My wife had a Vodka Martini which was disappointing. We would come here again, but avoid Martini's.

I ordered carry out from Thrive, solo, while on a business trip. I ordered the shrimp and grits, which are delicious but good googly moogly the collard greens are delicious! Sweet heat tender flavorful - just delicious. I would go to this restaurant just to have the greens. Highly recommend.

I visited Thrive for the 4th or 5th time this week with friends. We all agreed that the food never fails to please. I’ve never been disappointed in my meal. Some standouts are the parm fries appetizer, sushi rolls- dragon is my fave, duck appetizer, salmon, and Cobb salad. Our servers always have good recommendations and I’ve never felt rushed through a meal. The space is relatively small, so it doesn’t get too loud. The location is easy to get to if you’re downtown. Definitely give it a shot!

The food here was so good even for a non-sushi person! My husband loves sushi and I took him here for his birthday. I am not a fan but knew they had other food for me to choose from. To my surprise they have this awesome Teryiaki Chicken "Sushi" roll!! This roll is so good that my husband had me order 2 so he could have some! Would definitely recommend this place and would love to go back someday soon!

Big south volleyball tournament was going on Easter weekend and some of us wanted sushi for dinner! This place came up and some good reviews? There was 10 of us and it was not busy at all! But service was very slow! Me and my wife ordered the sushi combo which came with 2 rolls and sashimi of tuna and salmon. Once we got it what a shame! Sushi looked like it was rolled by my 10 year old nephew! Boring and bland! Worst of all the salmon sashimi had bones in it. I showed it to the server and told him to tell the chef he forgot to take off the bones! They brought me a new one but I don't know who taught them how to cut fish because it was not right at all! What a shame!

Let me start by saying that my wife and I have been wanting to try Thrive for the last 2 years when visiting Atlanta, and after reading so many rave reviews, we were very excited to make it there for lunch. The restaurant itself is conveniently located near the Centennial Plaza/CNN Center; it is open, airy and modern. As they offer sushi, that's what we went for. But first we started with the chicken potstickers. The potstickers were tasty but quite dense. The flavor was decent - needed more Asian flare, e.g. ginger, but A-ok. The sushi itself was average, with one roll (Dragon's Breath) being slightly above average, so I was going to give them 3 stars. Why 2? Because I (being the one who ate the Dragon's Breath roll) had severe diarrhea beginning about an hour or so after lunch and continuing for another 2 hours. And as that was all we had eaten that day... My wife had the spider roll; it was ok, but here is where Thrive's attempt at Asian-Southern fusion fails (for us): it was deep fried - as in dark. For me, the hallmark of excellent sushi is a delicate touch and deft hand. This roll was way too dense. As for the Dragon's Breath roll: it did taste good (yellowtail inside), but I think I erred in getting anything with "krab" (on top). I must have had jet lag. The jalapenos and sriracha added heat. I am not sure whether it was that element or the fish that made me ill. Either way, I regret to have to give a restaurant we so wanted to love only 2 stars. I may be tempted to come again and get more traditional fare.

My husband and I had a great experience at Thrive. The staff was very friendly!! Zimm, our server was awesome !! We started with the edamame bean hummus and My husband had the lamb shank while I ordered the South beach sushi roll and the Vesuvius roll. The food was awesome !! We look forward to visiting again .

Fresh and tasty sushi! Service was decent, but slow (kitchen). Inexperienced server who was unsure about how to make specialty coffee, but knowledgable about the menu items.

We chose Thrive as the location of our meeting with clients. Thrive has a very unique decor. It represents a fusion of indian, asian culture. The menu includes sushi and classic lunch fare like club sandwiches and burgers. The service was timely and professional. Our meal included assorted sushi items and a burger. It was good. Good location in the center of downtown Atlanta, close the new football stadium and GWCC convention center. Good eats that supported a good meeting.

The service is very friendly. But the food leaves much to be desired. The duck was overcooked with the skin completely soggy.

Great food, great service. Great place before a game. Right downtown. Will come back any time we are in Atlanta. Everything is walkable

We have never visited this restaurant before and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a busy night but service was energetic and fun. The food was very good and they did an excellent job of accommodating my husband who is gluten free. We will return.

Good cocktails, decent food. Great location. A little more casual than the Glenn across the street. Walking distance from Philips, CNN and GWCC. A lot of options in the area, but Thrive was nice. Quaint, trendy.

My husband and I shared the hummus (yummy), brussel sprouts (yummy) and tempura shrimp sushi (yummy). Need I say more?!

We ate here on business and the atmosphere is business casual with soft lighting. Good service. I had the Centennial Passion roll and it was very fresh and flavorful especially with the fresh coconut shavings. Good menu variety as well if you don't like sushi. Would definitely return if in the area again.

Food was good. No wait on a Tuesday night. Staff was courteous. Had the California roll which was really good and the wedge salad which was delish.

Spicy lobster sushi roll was a crispy, tasty delight. The roast duck was cooked to perfection and had a "finger-licking" good sauce - literally! The wine list is not extensive but the selections are good. Apparently the bar is well rated but we didn't try it. Oh - and desert was a flourless cake oozing warm liquid chocolate with a little bit of ice-cream to complement it.

Disrespected would never go back. I use to go there with Adults to drink and eat treated fair. Went with my son and which is 8 and it was like I brought a disease.

Early evening but no Happy Hour at the tables which was disappointing. Salmon was good, well prepared with a soy glaze. Salad was Asian inspired but wish I’d had the sushi which looked good.

Came for dinner after convention- we had to sit in the bar. It took forever to get a server, and then long time to even get our drinks. We ordered appetizers, were told they did not have hummus, then they brought one appetizer and said they did have hummus. Dinner took a long time, and was average at best. Terrible service, and I would not recommend. Also, bar was so sunny we could not see and it was 6pm.

We were in Atlanta to see a concert at the Phillips Arena so we arrived downtown early and strolled around enjoying the area close to the Arena. As it got closer to concert time we started looking for a place to eat and "stumbled across" Thrive which is only a couple of blocks from the Arena. We are so happy we found this wonderful place. We started with apps - Beef Carpaccio & the Crispy Pork Belly. Both we delicious, especially the pork belly which was in a small soft buns with kimchi. For dinner we switched to sushi...one of the draws to this restaurant - "regular" food & sushi all under one roof!!! We ordered the Thrive Special - tempura shrimp topped w/ Hamachi and a sweet chili sauce and the Vesuvius -spicy tuna w/ avocado, mango spicy mayo & a Teriyaki sauce. Both we large portions and VERY tasty.. If we lived in Atlanta, this would be one of our favorites!!!

There was no problem getting in the restaurant for lunch. The staff was a bit formal for a casual place, but the food was good. Though I did click that it was an American restaurant, my wife had sushi and said it was very good.

Good lunch but not great. I would recommend it for a group that does not have attendees that are "foodies".

First of all I want to begin by stating that I am a 17 year restaurant employee and notice everything. I'm easy to have yet very hard to impress. I was impressed tonight. I got a groupon so the value couldn't get any better. I didn't even follow the exact terms of the groupon yet they were willing to work with me and accommodate me in any way possible. We were greeted and served by Zakee who was absolutely great. He was laid back and fun yet efficient and attentive. He was even great with my four year old son. He and the kitchen got the apps out quickly, then he timed it perfectly where my sons burger came out before our entrees. It was ideal. This way my son had his food early enough where he wasn't squirrelly, yet didn't finish so early that he was done when we were just getting our entrees thanks to Zakees awareness and impeccable timing. He and the food really wow'd us. Everything was great. We started with sushi rolls which were great and had a fair amount of sushi in them not all rice and filler like most places today. Then we did four entrees for the table. The burger, the duck, the salmon and the filet!!!! WHOA, WOW!!! The food was insane. The combination of sauces, fresh vegetables and quality ingredients was mouth watering. The duck was succulent and made my taste buds dance. The filet hardly even needed a knife or sauce, it was so flavorful on its own I couldn't believe it. The salmon was Atlantic wild and you could tell, my wife is a salmon enthusiast and she was floored and the combinations of flavors. I was as well the chef was on point and I can't say enough good things about the food and the service provided by Zakee. You gotta ask for Zakee and you gotta get the dishes as they come!!

I went there in April and the drinks and calamari was great! Just visiting the area during happy hour a little slow but good atmosphere.

great groupon deal! I order the pink A Boo sushi roll and it was awesome, the espresso dessert five stars and our server was Erricah#1!!! Definitely coming back soon. Super YUMMY

For prom, my group and I decided to eat here since it was close to the dance venue. Since we had a party of 20 people, we had made reservations a couple weeks in advance; this was no suprise visit. The atmosphere was great, the food was also alright, but the service was AWFUL. It took them at least an hour and a half to serve our group the entrees. We ran the risk of being late and not admitted into the prom venue because the service was so slow. We had to ask for a check THREE TIMES to a guy who barely spoke English, and instead of bringing us our check, he continually filled our glasses. Also, the restraunt added an 18% tip without our consent even though the service was horrendous. It was overpriced for what it was, and I won't step foot in here again.

Got some raw seafood, salmon and tuna for the first time... Good cuts; did the appetizer with salmon and chips and tuna with rice.. Also got a couple of drinks and I was good to go. Drinks were a little over price for what you get size wise. I like to get my money's worth but the seafood made up for cost. Would visit again. Seem like a very relaxing spot during happy hour time frame as well.

My daughter really enjoyed this restaurant the night before the SEC Championship game. The food was tasty and the service was great. The menu is a little funky but we enjoyed it just the same. I hade the grouper sandwich with fried green tomatoes. My daughter had the lamb sandwich. The problem is...this is the only time that my credit card was out of my hands for the whole weekend and three days later I received a nice fat charge on my card from a high end online retailer that I would never use. If you go to this restaurant, use cash.

While in Atlanta for market week we had dinner at Thrive. I wasn't sure what to expect since I did not make the reservation but boy was I surprised. Our waiter was awesome, attentive and funny. I am not a huge fan of sushi as I don't like the thought of raw seafood but I was with a friend and decided to let her order and she ordered a California Roll for boring little ole me and a few other choices. All I can say is delicious! The pricing I thought to be fair and the amount of food was appropriate. I would totally go back again if in Atlanta. Definitely worth a try.

We ate here because it was across the street from our hotel but honestly we weren't expecting to be amazed. We weren't sure when we entered and sat down what we thought but when our waiter came and was super funny and friendly, we started to relax a little. They have a nice, small menu and absolutely wonderful sushi! I would recommend this restaurant.

One of the best of the few finer restaurants in Downtown Atlanta. Nice wine list and Asian fusion food. Sometimes service is spotty but food is usually very good. Place to go before you go to Phillips Arena events for a more sophisticated, well-priced meal.

The location is one block from State Farm Arena so if you're looking for somewhere to dine prior to a concert or event, this location is perfect. However, the service is terrible! We waited 30 mins for our drinks and over an hour for our food. The server didn't check on us much and our food was served lukewarm. We had a party of 6 so the gratuity was automatically included. I suspect that's why the service was so bad. They did offer us coupons to come back again, but I will never go back. Too many other good options to choose from in this city.

Whenever i find my self attending a Hawks game or an Atlanta united game, i take the opportunity to wine and dine at this amazing place before heading out.The food is just yummy, the atmosphere is warm and inviting and the service is exceptional. Their trout dish is my favorite and out of this world. My wife is from the South and loves the shrimp and grits dish.

Our group of five dined here and received our table right away. Our drinks arrived soon thereafter, followed by our entrees. The food was very tasty and cooked just right. The sushi was very good. Figure on spending a minimum of about $12-$15 for each entrée. Higher prices are charged for many other items. Drinks are of course additional. Not a cheap place to eat, but once in awhile this type of restaurant is fine.

We weren't too sure when we arrived. There weren't a lot of people there. However we were pleasantly surprised by our service, drinks, appetizers and food! Our server Jerel got the job done and we really enjoyed the sushi. Value was great. We couldn't finish everything!

Vesuvius sushi is standard not outstanding, service in the bar was poor and unfortunately I found a mosquito in my sake, they didn’t care much as they charged me anyways. Not coming back

My review would have been a 5-star if the service was better. Our waiter did the best he could, but the temporary bar couldn't keep up with the demand. Had to wait 35 minutes to be served our first drinks. I have no issue waiting for food. But I shouldn't order dinner before our drinks come. That is unacceptable under any circumstance.

Just did a quick Get-In / Get Out to Atlanta; I wrapped up the afternoon meetings and was looking for a decent sushi spot - I used Sushi Mear Me instead of Google... I found Thrive, so I gave it a shot... I’ve already socialized that I’m a MEIOMI fan, and they had some - score #1. Then I started looking a the menu, and I noticed they had deep fried Sushi - hmmm - First things first- the rolls are sizable in length, so two for a hungry person gets it done! I had the DL roll and the South Beach Body... I’m not a fan of pineapple on my food, but they did it well!. That place was easy, and nice people pls all around. The Bartender was kind of green, but she was nice enough and tried to accommodate at every request... Note to Trimmie (spell?)- folks at the bar need dinner napkins when eating - even if appetizers... give them flatware just like any other customer. (C’Mon man -) I spent about $50 on two rolls and two wines - par for the course when downtown on a major city. Having lived in Japan for three years, I’m normally a Sushi traditionalist- the rolls had a bit of a heat edge that made ‘em kind of southern- and it worked - - - With a bit of staff training and se attention to detail, this place will indeed thrive if the food is good, the other stuff is easy!! I’ll be back to see if they took some well intended advice! BTW, all the lamb dishes were recommended by two regulars...

Never heard of Thrive before. But we were meeting friends downtown, and it was around the corner. First, the parking garage was right next door, which is nice. Second, the people were so very nice. Third, the atmosphere was fun. I do not eat sushi, but I ate the braised short ribs. They were WONDERFUL and so tender. And yes, they came with truly the best Mac & Cheese I have ever enjoyed. My friends ate the tuna. All our plates were completely cleaned. Finally, it was priced modestly. Highly recommend!

The meal was disappointing. It depends of course on the choice of the menu, Some in our group choose sushi and were relatively content, but the seafood dish I had was not to my expectation. There was so much cheese on it, that it was so rich and I really had to search for the seafood. I only ate up 1/3 of the portion. The service was poor. The waitress spilt a glass of wine on one of the guests, but apart from the apology, there was no compensation. An extra round of dessert would have been a nice gesture. This was aggravated by the bill. A 20% tip was already automatically calculated and you could only add more tip. You could not deduct any amount because of the bad service or the unappetizing food.

The place has that downtown hotel bar feel: modern and shiny, smooth music, dimmed lights, a lot of mirrors. The service is excellent. Drinks - they have a bar and drinks to choose from, my only wish they had draft beer. Food ... It's well cooked and they have some original ideas, but it's not something to write about. Overall, this is one of those "business casual" places perfect to meet people on business trips - can't go wrong.

We had a large group (close to a dozen people), and our waitress Kayla took great care of us. Good food and good selection of craft beer. Would visit again.

Entire meal was incredible. Fried Green tomatoes were crispy and tasty. Main course choices were Fried chicken dinner. Highly recommend. We also had two sushi rolls (teriyaki chicken roll and shrimp tempura roll). Both were terrific. Dessert was cream brûlée. Delicious. Ask for server Tony. Very friendly and incredibly attentive

I travel to Atlanta twice a year for work and travel with about 20 of my co-workers. We are always looking for new places to try. On or most recent trip, we found Thrive. It was delicious! The menu has everything from fried chicken to sushi. It was really yummy! Another great thing about Thrive, is they were able to accommodate our group of about 18 people, all with separate checks (because we are traveling for business) Our food came quickly and the drinks were delicious. All of the servers were extremely friendly and quick! We will be back again soon! Thank you!

A great sushi experience …… sashimi and nigiri were perfect. Quick friendly service at the bar. Convenient to hotel on Marietta Street.

Some close friends were visiting Atlanta and staying at a nearby hotel so we decided to dine at this restaurant even though we had not eaten here before. We loved it the moment we walked in...the atmosphere was bubbly at 2pm and our server Victor was so very helpful. For starters we had the fried green tomatoes, pot stickers..both very good. The soup of the day (potato) was well-prepared. Next we had bourbon glazed salmon, shrimp tempura roll & lamb sandwich, followed by the chocolate cake. Our friends thoroughly enjoyed their meal!

We had a group and the service was great, she was able to stay on top of everything for us and the food was amazing!

Loved the decor. Neat, clean and funky. Service was excellent. I started with the kale salad, dressing was delicious. We than had sushi. Fabulous presentation and really good.

Great lunch with the wife. Lamb Lettuce Wraps, Tacos, and the Club Sandwich. We stopped here on a recommendation from our hotel. It's a fun bar with good drinks and food. Our favorite dish was the Lamb Lettuce Wraps.

The place has a very nice decor and the ambiance is just excellent. The food was pretty good as well.

Ate there last night. Wonderful food excellent staff. Duck was to die for, lamb sandwich juicy, sushi out of this world!!

I was taken to dinner here, and had the short ribs which came with Mac n cheese. An interested mix of southern food options and japanese. Definitely a worthwhile place to eat. Had the fried green tomatoes as well.

Had the pink a boo and vernisius sushi, in addition to the salmon dish. Wonderful food prepared by Chef Justin, great service provided by Pierre, all in beautiful ambiance. Loved the experience!

Was there for a business gathering hence we chose from a fixed menu, started with baby kale Caesar (OK couldn't really tell the croutons were sourdough), then I had the flat iron steak which was good small portion though, was looking forward to the desert but the cinnamon toast crunch creme brulee did not have much of a cinnamon taste Service was OK unaware of prices as it was paid for by the conference. Ambiance was pretty basic

Found Thrive on Seated and decided to give it a try. Got a Lusty Love drink that was super interesting and unique. We also ordered fried calamari that was sweet, and very well made - not super chewy! Plus the 2 sushi rolls we ordered were spicy and delicious! YUM!

Looking for an upscale lunch instead of pub fare. Thrive is 2 blocks from CNN CENTER and Philips Arena. Nice wine list @ $10/glass. Some different menu choices and went with shrimp & grits. OK, every hip restaurant in the south serves shrimp & grits, but Thrive added corn and sausage in the grits and kicked up the taste. Very, very tasty. Outstanding service.

My boss and I love Asian food, and downtown ATL is sorely lacking, so we ended up at Thrive. Very attractive, modern decor and vibe upon entry. We were early and seated and served immediately. We each ordered two sushi rolls, and were impressed by the quality and value. (It's not cheap, but for this caliber of restaurant we certainly got our money's worth.) Criticisms: they really should do away with dyed ginger, and we wished for a more extensive selection of sushi. And miso soup would be nice. Generally, I find that restaurants that attempt more than one cuisine fail at both, but they do their limited offerings quite well. The American items on the menu looked both interesting and odd next to the sushi. But I would definitely recommend this place.

Philips Arena, & World Congress Center they would be prepared for the crush of people in the area for major events but everything seemed to be lacking. This was not my first choice (or for that matter my any choice) but our group of seven was hungry, cold & wet and this place was open and the wait time was minimal so in we went. Service was abysmal fr/ the start and, believe it or not, got worse. After a while water was poured and then the waiter ran away. After a while specials were mentioned and then the waiter ran away. After a while drink orders were taken and then the waiter ran away. After a while some drink orders were brought and then the waiter ran away. After a while another drink order was delivered and then the waiter ran away. After a while yet another drink order was delivered and then I was informed that the bar only had enough gin to make a martini for TCM so I cancelled my order only to have a martini brought to me about midway through dinner using a gin they claimed they did not have at the bar and being told "it is the same thing as the gin originally ordered" and then the waiter ran away (in the confusion of paying the check and leaving I never did see whether I was charged for that martini--since it was cancelled--or not). After a while we managed to order and then the waiter ran away. It took a while but food was delivered in what I refer to as the "Dr. Seuss method": "one dish, two dish......red dish, blue dish" until finally everyone at the table was served--just long enough so that those who were served first had nice lukewarm food in front of them. TCM & sister had the grilled chicken sandwich and claimed it to be good (w/ excellent seasoned fries) and most of the others had shrimp & grits and enjoyed them. I tried the "Dragon's Breath" and let us say their version of "crab" and my version of "crab" are entirely different. It was not bad just not very good. After a while the waiter cleared some dishes and then ran away. We sat at the table for a bit and after a while the waiter brought the check w/ the rest of the dishes on the table and then ran away. We sat at the table for a while and then the waiter picked up the check w/ the rest of the dirty dishes on the table and then ran away. Yes they were relatively busy but not to the point where they should have been as panicked as they were or service as sloppy as it was and one would think, as I mentioned, w/ their proximity to the convention center and the sports arenas they would be used to a crowd but it was as if they did not expect to be busy and so were completely unprepared for the number that walked in the door.

I visited Thrive for lunch with work colleagues. The atmosphere was very nice. The restaurant was not overly busy at 12:00 pm on a weekday, so we were seated quickly. The waiter was pleasant and mostly attentive. The food was fresh and attractively presented. The portions were good and what I would expect for the price. The prices were reasonable for Atlanta. I would recommend this restaurant as a good alternative to the other lunch spots around the area. Very nice and more quiet atmosphere than the normal lunch spots.

The calamari is delicious!! Wish they had more sushi options, but what we ordered were all good. Waiter was helpful and brought food in a timely manner!

I was in downtown Atlanta for a conference and was looking for a dinner venue with a couple of work associates. We chose Thrive for its convenient location, variety of menus offerings and its reputation. We were not disappointed! It is unusual to have the option of choosing sushi, wild Coho Salmon, and New Zealand lamb shank off of a single menu (which we did by the way). They also offer a good variety of craft cocktails and an extensive wine list. The service was just right-attentive, but unobtrusive. The quiet ambience made it easy to have a conversation without having to raise our voices. It's location in the downtown food district makes it within walking distance of many downtown hotels and attractions. I highly recommend it.

Went with a group of 10 ladies and I know most consider that punishment for a waiter. But we were warmly greeted and made to feel we were in good hands. The menu lists $5 5 - 7 pm special drinks and appetizers, turned out to be $10 if not in the lounge. The orange blood margarita was excellent and had a good amount of liquor in it. The calamari was excellent and enough to share. But here is the menu description of the Cobb Salad -" Grilled Chicken Breast, Bacon, Avocado, Corn, Tomato, Eggs, Blue Cheese Dressing. ". We asked them to hold the corn, they must have decided that meant the , bacon, Avocado and Blue Cheese and half of the chicken as well. Since we were a large group and the salads came out 10 minutes after all else, I decided to remain quiet. We got there at 5:10, and at 7:10 asked for a couple desserts to share and our checks as we were to see the Divine Miss M (SHE was awesome). We still had people trying to get their checks corrected at 8 pm. The manager comped the desserts, I believe he just gave up trying to figure out the checks and that was easier. Yes it was a busy night, but 3 hours for 1 drink, a couple shared appetizers, some salads and sandwiches? These were not 3 course meals in the usual sense. Charge $15 and give me an entree salad to wow me and you get 5 stars, but slow service and a meager salad, not happening.

The service was mediocre. The hostess could have cared less about my arrival. The environment isn't warm and inviting. I went there for sushi and the chef had to leave so the entire half of their menu wasn't available. My server recommended the pork wrapped in bacon. It wasn't even hot when it arrived. Don't think I'd recommend this place or the food.

Do not waste your time eating here. Came after game at Mercedes-Benz stadium. Would not honor reservation. Staff extremely ignorant. Food awful.

My husband and I wanted sushi for dinner on our very first night ever in Atlanta. Thrive not only was within walking distance from our hotel (Omni) but also had very good reviews on trip advisor (thanks reviewers!). The menu was a surprising mix of cuisines including sushi. We started off with calamari and the lamb lettuce wraps based on the recommendation from our AMAZING waitress, Diane. Both we delicious. For our main courses, I ate the Beet Salad and the Kyoto (a mix of nigiri items and a Mexi-Cali roll) and my husband had two specialty rolls. Everything was made to perfection and the presentation was beautiful. The owner even came by to introduce himself and give us special attention. I would highly recommend Thrive to those looking for a great place to eat in Atlanta.

Was just average. Sushi. Ambiance was great Ray's was nice too and has a much better offering as far as ambiance and location. Thrive wasn't too far away, but seemed to be just far enough away from up-beat restaurants in the hot parts of the city near Peachtree and Baker (like White Oak)... Thrive was just far enough away to be considered OUTSIDE the restaurant district of Downtown Huntsville.

Non existing service Food is mediocre at best No management Order drinks at 6:30 luckily you get it at 7:45pn

This is a smart, high energy, cool place. Steps away from all the conference hotels downtown and it isn't a chain, and it offers cutting edge menus and wine. I was glad to get away from the conference and the CNN Center and find something that felt the good foodies of Atlanta support.

On a gorgeous Saturday night this place was empty. That had us worrying as we were being seated. Service was top notch, food was a bit bland for our taste though. This is a personal preference, not trying to bash the restaurant.

In town for business and happy hour at Thrive was the chosen destination. I'm a whiskey drinking vegetarian and apparently there is no happiness options for us. My $10 well whiskey and coke and hungry belly was an indication I needed to move on, however, the 15 guests I was with really loved their California and spicy rolls and $5 vodka and wine specials. I'm sure they would go back, but I'd rather take my chances getting some weird southern germs at a dive bar.

Worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant. It was actually so bad we had to ask if we were being pranked for a tv show. We ordered Vodka lemonades and 45 minutes later were brought vodka on the rocks and 2 warm glasses of lemonade to make our own drinks. One friend ordered a Dos Equis and our waitress walked back and forth with an IPA 3 times before we finally just went to the bar and got it ourselves. We ordered 6 cheeseburgers and it took an hour and 45 minutes before they finally started coming out 1 at a time, 5 minutes apart. The waitress said we'd have to wait a little longer for our fries because they were taking longer then the burgers (?), so after we had received our food she just brought out cheese fries for the table, which nobody ordered. We asked for the bill and paid before we got our food since it took so long, and when the waitress returned the check to us she did not return my credit card (although she told me 10 times it was in there). It was not (she lost it), and after searching the entire restaurant she found it in the register. All that and the bill was $293 (for 6 burgers, 5 vodka lemonades, and 1 beer) because they charge an automatic service charge (what service???) and apparently were "charging dinner prices" despite handing us the lunch menu at noon. You won't be surprised to hear our waitress was unable to provide an itemized receipt. I'd love to say I won't be coming back, but I am so intrigued by how a dining establishment can struggle so mightily to provide food and beverages that I will definitely be coming back to see if it is always like this.

Was not quite sure what to expect from the description other than Sushi style. Arrived and found the atmosphere pleasant and casual. Noise level was comfortable conversation. Had the Sushi/Sashimi combo that was recommended by server and it was very good. The menu selection was more extensive than I thought and for people who don't want the Sushi, there are good options. If in the area, give it a try and it is worth it.

Excellent sushi! Ordered the Tokyo and Kyoto!! Everything was on point! Drinks are good, service is what you'd expect, excellent. In the area and want some sushi, this is your place!

Sushi was standard. Service was fine. Undergoing a renovation. Small space and it was loud with conversation. Because of everyone talking it was difficult to have a conversation at the table.

After a ride on Skyview Atlanta we found Thrive. Holy smokes it was good. My wife and I both had the salmon, incredible. Our daughter had the filet, wonderful. Service was great.

We honestly had this as second choice but the first turned us away and Thrive welcomed us and glad they did. Much more diverse menu and friendly staff. Fried green tomatoes were crispy outside and gave a crunch that only real green tomatoes can. Wife had lamb sandwich and raved about it. I went for a lighter date of sushi and other than the fake crab legs that I despise everything was delicious and fresh. Dessert was a flourless chocolate cake and scoop of ice cream with earl gray tea. While they have a nice selection of ports I opted for a hot tea to round the evening out. Waitstaff was impeccable from seating to serving. Very happy to have found this as a second choice that should have been our first.

A group of us stayed at The Glenn Hotel which was just across the street and enjoyed the food so much at Thrive we went 2 nights in a row. The salmon with a bourbon glaze was simply wonderful after eating a bunch of sushi rolls for appetizers. Not a big menu, but every selection our group had was met with moans of satisfaction. Like to see the service a big more responsive, but just a slight dent in 2 splendid evenings at Thrive

We ate at the bar and had great service, I was in the mood for a cocktail but something unusual, I enjoy a Caiparoska with muddled fruit and that night they had strawberries so our bartender made one and it was amazing. My wife some wine and we both had the Burratta on toast with tomato and Salmon which was fantastic. Our overall experience was relaxed, fun and enjoyable. Thank you!

We went for a team dinner and everyone agreed that the restaurant was a disaster. Despite not being busy, we waited 25 minutes to get our drinks and it went downhill from there. Service remained slow and food took forever to be served. The food was average to bad. How do you mess up the seaweed wrap and rice in sushi rolls? There are many better choices than this in Atlanta.

The drinks were amazing and food.... sushi was delicious by far best I have ever had. A friend had flank steak it was so tender and yummy- our waiter Nick was A++++ I would suggest to anyone

I went here for lunch with a business contact/friend. We had a salad followed by sushi. The food was really very good and I really enjoyed it. This is not the place to go if you want big ribs and huge slabs of meat, but it is a good restaurant and excellent value for money. The ambience was lovely too and service efficient and smiley. I would go back.

A friend was in town for the weekend. We were going to a concert downtown and wanted a restaurant within walking distance of the venue. My friend picked Thrive based on the menu (which does look yummy). Thrive has an odd blend of Sushi and Southern favorites. Thrive has a great location near the stadium, Centennial Olympic Park and hotels. And it is super cute inside. Very city Chic...not too pretentious and more relaxed than you would expect it to be. We had a great seat overlooking the street. Our server was really great. We started with cocktails which were pretty average. Our menu items ranged from outstanding to inedible. This isn't a terrible option for meal in the city and the price is not too much inflated for what you get. If you order the right things you may really enjoy your experience. Both my friend and I decided however that there are far better options in the city-we voted to not return. Here is more information on what we ordered. Being a southern lady I LOVE fried green tomatoes and if they are on the menu I am getting them. Maybe I am too picky-I think the FGT at South City Kitchen are good but too heavy handed. This is a dish where the tomato should shine -not be hidden by heavy breading/toppings. Thrive's FGT were a HUGE disappointment. Heavy, chewy, bland, breading on thinly sliced tomatoes. Basically they were inedible. I ended up pulling out the thin slices of tomato and eating them sans breading. The accompanying "thousand Island' had an Asian twist and was actually not bad-it would have gone well with a thickly sliced and appropriately dusted tomato. Because we couldn't decide what we wanted we also ordered a side of Mac-N-Cheese. Now this was fabulous. I would have loved it even more if had elbow macaroni vs shells. But it really good, really cheesy-close to perfect. My friend ordered a salad. It had a lovely presentation-but it was just a salad. Good but not memorable. We each got a sushi roll. And we both agreed they were ok but nothing special. At one point a server walked past with something that smelled really fishy. We think it was a calamari dish. Whatever it was ruined my appetite a bit.

We were here for an event that was supplied with many of their appetizer/small plate bites - sliders, pork spring rolls, pot stickers, fried saffron risotto, tuna tartare, and curried chicken empandas. All were absolutely delicious. Good assortment of wines, beers and cocktails. Super friendly wait staff! Good amount of seating - really nice place to hang out for drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

A handsome, sleek eatery tucked away in downtown Atlanta. The three of us had lamb, salmon and a burger and all three were delicious. The host couldn't have been more welcoming or the waitress more efficient. I didn't quite understand the watermelon/chicken dish but I admit it sounded intriguing.

I love this place. Sushi is very good... and they have a good selection of beer... The employees are fast and I never wait too much for eat. I will return here every time I will be in Atlanta.

While the food was OK, the sushi menu is very limited compared to a real sushi restaurant. Good choice if you're staying near CNN, so worth a visit.

The chicken pot stickers were very good as well as the Sante Fe chicken salad with cilantro dressing. Our party of eight all had a different entree but everyone enjoyed their food.

My boyfriend and I visited Thrive after I purchased a Groupon for the restaurant last year. The deal included 1 appetizer, 2 entrees, dessert, and 2 cocktails or glasses of wine. We ordered the crab wontons, mahi mahi, flank steak, white wine, and brownie dessert with vanilla ice cream. Everything was perfect. The owner even gave us a discount on a few cocktails we ordered that weren't included in the Groupon Deal. I would definitely visit again.

Really enjoyed the contemporary southern and American cooking, as well as the sleek modern setting. Dessert was a tad disappointing after such delicious appetizers and entrees. Friendly and efficient service.

Stopped in for sushi. Had the spicy tuna and south beach body rolls. Both delicious but nothing revolutionary. Cool environment.

Loved the ambiance and their small but intimate wating/lounge area. Food was marvelous, even though I haven't tried most of the menu items but have heard from my colleagues. This is not a sports bar so don't come with a expectation to watch game, unless you are ready dine on the bar. Disclosure: I worked in same building so I have colleagues who have dined here quite of a time.

Location is about two blocks from Centennial Park and we walked from our hotel (Embassy Suites). Distance was fine but wouldn't have wanted to walk much further away from tourist/visitor areas. The restaurant is lovely with an appealing mix of upscale and modern without being "stuffy". There's an obvious attention to detail which made for a very nice dining and bar experience. We had a reservation via Open Table and were seated within 5-10 minutes (we were a few minutes early). Hostess and bartenders were friendly and professional. The menu is a little different as it includes Asian, Southern, and American (sushi to fried chicken to burgers). My son and I had two different sushi rolls and we both agreed the "Pink A Boo" was exceptional. It melted in your mouth with wonderful flavors. My husband had their filet and said it was perfectly cooked with an outstanding sauce. We also tried the calamari and pot sticker appetizers, both of which were very good. For desert my son had their crème brulee. It was the perfect size for one and he ate every bite with relish. All dishes were beautifully presented. Two things they could do to improve the dining experience: remove dirty plates between courses and serve salads prior to main course. Overall our server was knowledgeable about the menu, made excellent recommendations, and was attentive, but leaving our empty and dirty appetizer dishes throughout the meal was a little off-putting. Also, my husband ordered a salad as a side which came out the same time as his steak. Granted, he didn't ask for it to be served prior to his steak but it's unusual that it's not brought out first or for the server not to ask when you would like it. The salad was lovely, but sadly went almost untouched due to timing. Prices were reasonable for the location and quality of food. I would return as I would like to try a dish from the "Southern" side of the menu.

Stopped in for lunch after leaving the convention back to the hotel. Wonderful service by Leonardo and delicious food Really enjoyed the sweet and sour brussels sprouts with the balsamic vinegar with honey. Quiet and pleasant venue.

The food was amazing! The Chef was very accommodating and even came out to speak with us. Comfortable and not too noisy. Enjoyed the experience. Probably ate too much because of how delicious all of it was. Thumbs up!!👍🏼❤️

We had a group dinner for 120 International guests and the staff was amazing. Three entree choices, appetizers, drinks, desserts all handled competently. Interesting menu makes it worth a less slammed visit to check out the other offerings.

This was a fantastic choice for a business dinner. It was not too loud, and the food was excellent. The service was superb - my water glass was refilled constantly. My steak was cooked exactly as I requested and was tender and flavorful. My salad was also exactly as I requested.
great service, good food
this would be a cool place to hang out. it wasn't super busy and they let me sit there for several hours and work during dinner. great decor. would be fantastic for happy hour. i liked the smoked salmon appetizer, but it was weird that it came with potato chips. the shrimp and grits was very good.
