Great food and good service. Beer selection and knowledge is top notch. If you love Mac n cheese, then try Time. Theirs is awsome.

The mood and atmosphere was fantastic. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Drinks were about $10+ Had the buffalo wings and they were fantastic! Not too hot or spicy but very flavorful. $10 for 6 but they were good. The music was top notch and sounded great. We were happy to find this spot.

We came across this place by accident walking around downtown on Tuesday evening. Stopped into the bar to eat and drink. Took 15 minutes for someone to come to the table to take our drink order. We asked for dinner menus and were reluctantly handed them. After 30 more minutes of waiting for the server to come back, we paid another server for the drink and left.

Dinner at Time, thanks to the recommendation of a friend. Live jazz duo too. Short rib for My husband, after the bone marrow served with chimichurri sauce, and mushroom Shepard’s pie for me—crunchy veggies and some mushrooms with mashed potatoes and fontina cheese on top. Nice cocktail of Keyes vodka, pomegranate, lemon, simple mint. Dessert of homemade ice cream—Mexican chocolate and peaches and cream.

We just went here for drinks. The atmosphere here was great. The shots however were very expensive. The band was good.

Went here for drinks after dinner, nice Riesling and really fun open mic night with the most amazing performances and the house band were outstanding!

As a couple, we had a very nice dinner of seafood, soup, and salads. No live music when we were there, but that's a good option and usually available. Our server was very accomodating

I expected a nostalgic jazz bar atmosphere. It's was all there. But I expected more. Lots of potential they have to do a bit more.

Visited this bar on my trip to Philadelphia and I absolutely love it. A band plays like every hour and the whiskey is delicious. The macaroni and cheese is AMAZING. The ambience lovely with candles. I absolutely love this place!!

There's live music performed by a nice band...they offer good drinks...there's a bar too...I like this place...I've been there many times for drinks only...friendly staff...good service...it's recommended

Excellent cozy room with an awesome selection of craft beers and cocktails. Nice interesting menu and excellent sevice. Live music was very good. Highly recommend.

We went to Time looking for live music and it delivered. We saw a great reggae band called Cultureal. They really rocked! It was a great place to see music.

We’re not really drinkers, but we stopped in for a quick drink and ended up staying for two hours. Friendly and attentive service and a comfortable setting just made it a perfect place to relax after hours touring the American Revolution Museum. An extraordinary list of whiskies from around the world and a nice beer and wine selection offered something for everybody. We ended up getting some appetizers for the table. The French fries with a cheese sauce on the side, the mussels and their seasonal mixed vegetable plate were excellent. When we told our server that we needed to leave by a certain time to make our train, Raheem was considerate enough to give us our check early so we could enjoy our food and leave whenever we were ready.

I stopped here on a rainy Thurs night. I love live music & they had a fun group there with guest musicians. It was just the perfect thing for a cold rainy night. I just had a scotch & chilled. It's dark and rustic inside. There was a side room with different music & I heard that there is dancing on the 2nd floor but I didn't venture elsewhere.

Every Friday and Saturday night from 6 to about 9 you have really decent live jazz with dinner, and then from around 10pm to 1am, it is funk/jam/jazz. Very cool. The band is always very good. Not much room to dance to the live music, but cool to chill out and have a drink. If you wanna dance and goof around, go upstairs to the little club, DJ playing hip hop and dance music. Then go to the absinthe bar to cool down. Great place to check out. The consistently good quality live music, and one-stop-shop diversity award this place an excellent rating.

The meal here was good. The atmosphere lovely. Nice sitting at the open windows. The food selection was good and drink selection varied. Lively place with adequate bar space for mingling. The strange part of our meal was that everything came out piece meal. One person received a side. Minutes later someone else an entree. It took approximately 15 minutes to get the entire tables order out. No explanation as to the reason.

I went here last year when visiting Philadelphia with my mother. The atmosphere was fantastic with live music and a general buzz about the place! The cocktails were different and really tasty. The waiters always knew exactly what to recommend based on your own tastes. We had the Chef's choice menu and it was all absolutely fabulous. The only thing that I feel let it down was the dessert. This is purely because of my individual taste though! I'm not a fan of coffee ice cream or popcorn! The service was excellent, someone was always there to refill you glass, fetch your empty plates or answer any questions. Highly recommended!

We love Time and entertain our guests there whenever we can. Especially, if they love live music that you can actually listen to while you dine. It is always a pleasure when a chef expresses his/her creativity with offerings that reflect the season and mood of the city. The food is delicious and well presented and the wait staff is very attentive. Time has a hard-working and competent staff and Tim, one of the managers, makes sure the entire experience is high in quality, steeped in value and quite memorable. The staff are knowledgeable about the fare and will guide you to your favorite flavors of food and drink. Time is on a very short list of venues we share with guests when they visit Philadelphia, not to mention the "Time"s we simply head over for a pleasant dinner.

This is a great place for food and live music. I had the Squid Ink Pasta and thought it was amazing! This dish had great texture and a fresh seafood flavor. The music was a great addition to to great food! I would highly recommend this restaurant and will return there whenever I am in Philadelphia.

We stopped for dinner and some drinks. My wife loved the macaroni. There is two sides. You need a reservation to get in the dinner side but we got a bar seat ok. Very fun atmosphere

The host of another restaurant we could not get into directed us to Time. We were lucky to sit at a booth on the bar side since the restaurant side was full. The atmosphere was fun with that old time heavy wood, pub feel and games on big screens while people were watching at the bar. We got lobster mac n cheese which was great -- big bowl so easily could be shared as a side, nice burger, and the shrimp n grits. All was good with good service. Would not say the food was outstanding but definitely worth the stop if looking for a comfortable and inexpensive place.

food is good, even off the bar menu (which was cheap!). extensive drink menu, awesome. didnt see the live music but its a nice atmosphere. would definetly try again.

This pub is located in downtown very close to Walnut and Chestnut street. MONDAY to THURSDAY free entrance, while FRI-SUN you have to pay 5$. The environment is greatful, at the first floor 1 room for Jazz Music and 1 room for a classic pub.....upstairs you can dance in their Disco. The best thing for me is on Thursday night... very good music, glass of whisky or beer and stay with friends. Enjoy

The atmosphere was perfect. The music was excellent, The food could not have been better and the service was outstanding.

A really cool atmosphere and a bar that I would have loved to go to again, but how the arrogant servers and bartenders acted, I will never step foot in that place again. I made the exception to pay a cover charge because the live music sounded amazing - and it was! The bouncers were pleasant, the girl taking the coverage charge was ok, the bar tender was vicious, and the servers at the tables were beyond rude. I understand what table service means, and I am a very nice tipper, but to be told to sit there we have to order rounds after rounds so he makes enough money to warrant wasting his time there and then to be supported by his co workers and managers for a horrible attitude - I will never waste a cent in there again.

Food ok. Almost every dish is spicy. horrible service but the worst was that they charge you a $5.00 add on fee because they have a jazz player in the room!

First, let me just say to the owners you should consider changing the name to Timeless! Visited your establishment on Friday and when I walked in I was greeted by your warm hostess and was seated immediately. Second, started off my night with a classic cocktail, ( Between The Sheets). Let me just say your bartender was on point making that classic, so I ordered another lol. I then had the Beet Tartar Salad. Which was amazing! My friend had the Kale Salad to start from also amazing! Finally, our main course came. I had the sea food stew mussels, shrimp, calamari, capers and a wonderful broth with crusted bread for dipping. Do I have to say Amazing again? Lol. My friend had the All Natural Fried Chicken dinner which came with sautéed collard greens which where BANGING! smashed potatoes with beets, butter milk biscuits! All plates where cleaned! Time Keep Doing What You Do! Someone Please Kss the Chef!

A ton of famous people stop in here all the time and the live music is why they come. It's a really nice atmosphere here, but not for everyone. For a special night out I would come again, but it's not somewhere I would go all the time.

I met a few friends out on a Thursday night for drinks at Time. There was a solid jazz group, no cover and tasty cocktails as well as $3 Miller High Life. The music that night was mostly improv and a range of styles. An order of fries is perfect while drinking. Fresh, thin and hot.

My first visit to Time and I was very pleasantly surprised. The menu is creative and the food was great. I had recently tried octopus for the first time at a different restaurant and it was so good, I decided to try it at Time. It was so incredibly tender and was served with tasty veggies and crispy chick peas (which I don't even like but these were very, very good!) I highly recommend the octopus. We also split a pasta dish with pork and the flank steak. Both were excellent and I loved the sweet potato side and the lightly fried brussel sprouts that came with the steak. Really a fantastic meal! And their drink menu is huge and the jazz was fun.

My wife and I have been here many times, we go early between 4:45 and 7pm for arrival(Large Room to the Left). Great place for a cocktails or a glass of wine. It has usually a chill vibe, working artists, and happy hour corporates a like enjoy. If you enter and turn right the vibe is louder and the vibe is college like PBR please. Upstairs you forget about time and space as the club and house music scene is up there for the late arrival folks. A place with a little something for everyone.

We got into Philly on a Sunday night! While looking for food and music, we realized most places close at 10 if not earlier!! We walked up on "Time" and it was such a good decision!! They serve a full menu late! Live Jazz, LATE!!! The waitress was wonderful and the food was "descent"!! My Burger was DELISH and the wings were fantastic!! Drinks, GOOD!! Not great but GOOD!! Stay away from the "watery" Mac and Cheese!!! It is within walking distance from downtown hotels, right at City Hall... We stayed at the Ritz Carlton and TIME was a 5-10 min walk! The atmosphere were great!! Highly recommend!!!

Just back from a wonderful birthday celebration a dear friend with some great music, food n a very attentive n amazing server Zac. The reason for giving this one star is the racial discrimination by the security personnel outside. A friend of ours forgot his phone inside which he realized after coming out that too after spending over 3 hours inside. All he requested was to go in and check at our table it the over smart discriminating bouncer refused to even let him go in there why cause his skin was brown, but when another white friend of ours went in to check he was not even stopped or asked any questions.... Does this sound fair, shame on you Times, that even in this day n age you have employees like that discriminating bouncer n then there are the amazing servers like Zac who need to teach these arrogant bouncers that they are there thanks to all the customers. Hope Time takes this seriously and solves this racial discrimination that is happening on their premises.

friendly service/atmosphere, spacious, live music is great. decent dinner menu.

Great food...great music! Had nice time out for open mic. Ordered mussels. They were delicious. Service was great. Conveniently located.

Unique menu and great entertainment by a live band. Service was very slow even though our party did not have an inordinately large order.

Really nice atmosphere in the dining and bar area adjacent to the booze bar. The jazz was smooth the whiskey hard and the food nice . Service is good. Price is above average prepare to spend not splash. Overall I would go here again and again. Next tome I am told to try to signature Marrow dish. The chicken waffles was not as good as I expected not enough fontina cheese and waffles were a bit on the soggy side. The Fish stew was delicious. great location as well.

Amazing food, squid was amazing, salad very surprisingly good, really special!!! You must try this place... the music is amazing for rockers line me!!!

Good friends which is good because the seating was tight as it most always is in the city but yet mostly comfortable here. I simply refuse to patronize places that your so on top of other people you or them are uncomfortable. Upon arriving we were seated promptly and our server started us off with some amazing bourbon drinks. He was very friendly and knowledgeable on the cocktails and food. 3 piece band playing was very nice and a cool mix of tunes. We had a bunch of apps including the cheese board which was amazing but small get 1 for each couple. The crab and macaroni was also excellent. We were meeting other friends later in the evening or could have spent much more time (LOL) here. I would def recommend for a lively time and good food and drinks.

Three of us went for snacks and music and were seated in the dining room. One had the ribs, another the PEI mussels, and I had the bread pudding dessert with a dollop of ice cream. All quite tasty in a fabulous atmosphere with live, not overly music from two guitarists and vocals, that we could easily converse over. A fabulous evening worth repeating.

My friend took me here for my birthday. It is in south Philadelphia so traffic and parking is always an issue. But once we got in, the bar section was very crowded. We had reservations so we were taken to a table. The service was attentive and helpful, which was refreshing. We ordered the deviled eggs and wings for appetizers, and also had a couple of drinks. Everything was excellent! The meals (braised rib and filet mignon) was soooo tasty. My friend said the steak was not cooked to her specifications but it was still great nonetheless. And for dessert we had the bread pudding and they put a candle on it for me. Great experience, and I highly recommend Time.

Nice atmosphere. It was very busy for this event. We were served a variety of drinks, beers and appetizers. Good food and pleasant wait staff too. Great open area dining room with music!

When I happened upon this place I almost left immediately. Bar feel - a small but interesting menu, but the tasting menu got me to stay. They also had live music which (as a music person) I hate at dinner. As I was starting to leave, the waitress came ove and i was embarased to leave so I decided to suck it up and stay. OMG - I am so happy I did. While the menu is largely uninteresting, the tasting menu (5 courses at 65 bucks) is amazing - 1: crab meat with lobster bisque, a salad that was amazing, (Alan Savada where are you), 3: clams with a quinoa salad, 4: duck with octopus - serf and turf - the paired wines were amazing. The jazz trio was amazing and tasteful - all in all a beautiful night. I’m a fan.

Good food (although I'm not sure I approve of shark on the menu). Miss the German beers from when this was Ludwig's Garden.

If you happen to be in Philly and you like good cocktails, you just have to stop by here. Everything Rocco (the bartender) made was just fabulous. They have a great selection of whiskeys and scotches and they let you do a tasting flight which is fantastic if you're looking to try expensive bottles before buying them. The prices are reasonable, and the food menu is small but really good. Its a really nice place for a date night, we had a great time!

We stopped in to Time again this weekend and the food/drinks were fantastic as well as excellent service! The bartenders are great and the prices aren't bad. Highly recommended!

We intentionally went there for the jazz music and even though the atmosphere and bar were good we were disappointed in the music. Not loud or jazzy enough and only 2 people playing. I thought this was a jazz bar!!!! It was just a good bar

Wife and I wanted .....needed....a drink after long day of Christmas shopping. We happened on Time and had a blast. Great acoustic music friendly staff, lots of whiskey from around the world. We had dinner reservations some place else, but the food coming out looked great and we were told it was great. We enjoyed the place so much we came back for desert (bread pudding was killer) and a nightcap. Do yourself a favor and stop in.

Many interesting meat and food choices, that change frequently, accompanied by suitable sides, always delivered with a small. To the right is a huge bar area; to the left a cozier dining room where soft jazz plays from 5-10 PM daily. (Bigger acts come in after 10PM.)

Funny how things work sometimes. We ducked down an alley to drop into a well-known Philly ale house. It was crowded and lively with the beer flowing. Not what we wanted this particular night. Instead of walking back out the front, we drifted to the other end of the bar where a door was opened out the back way, into a tight walkway which lead us to Samson street, and Time, where a funny, personable doorman enticed us inside. The speakeasy atmosphere here is really inviting. The old school whiskey drinks were awesome and not overpriced. Great, diverse crowd. And extremely good quality open mike entertainment.

We stopped here for drinks while staying across the street at the Holiday Inn Express Mid-town. They have a huge selection of hard stuff and good selection of beer. We didn't have any food during this visit as we had eaten earlier. We sat at the bar which is made of a rich warm wood that looks like a million bucks. Very good service. It feels like a neighborhood bar, nice.

I honestly have only had a few items on the menu here. All were very good - a little pricey but the atmosphere was great. On Tuesday nights they have an open mic/band night where instrument players and vocalists swap out all night and it's amazing. Get there early on these nights, though - it can get crammed and you want a seat!

Great tasting food and no one left hungry...very large portions. The singer and keyboard were too loud for any conversation. Great beer selection.

Saturday night drinks, music and the relaxed atmosphere is exactly what I like. The food is not absolute best. I would however come back again to try other items on the menu

Went for drinks. Vodka Tonic was great. Service was quick and friendly. Looked like locals eat there. Did not try the menu but if you need a quick pick-me-up, try this place.

Time is a cozy place with a cool jazz vibe. Ended up here on Saturday night with my friends for my 40th birthday. After trying 2 other places in the area that had 3-4 hour waits for walk ups, I saw a sign for a whiskey bar and though lets's try here. When the hostess said that the wait time was 30-40 minutes I thought SOLD! It was a busy Saturday night about 7:30-ish so I was happy the wait was that short. The menu is up-scale American and there was a jazz combo playing. Nice mix of people, not too old and not too young and hipster.

This feels like an upmarket bar rather than a true eatery with high tables and live jazz. Jazz music isn't our thing however superb food and drinks are and I am not going to drop the rating to four just because our musical tastes differ. The best, and I mean THE best, octopus starter I have ever had. So tender, I literally cut it with the back of my fork. Entree, mac'n'cheese - but with crab and bacon and gorgonzola. Rich, tasty and superb. Excellent wine choice plus they serve a sour cherry ale in draft. Just off 13th Street, about five minutes walk from Hard Rock Cafe

Bourbon/Whiskey selection is good, food selection is okay, quality of food is just slightly above average. It's a nice place to go if you're in town for a conference or visiting - but certainly not worth going out of your way to go to. Food quality was good and portion sizes was good. But it wasn't extraordinary - just slightly above average.

Wonderful restaurant experience! Nice jazz music in the background that was just right. We had the mussels and cheese board for apps. The mussels were some of the best any of us have ever had! I had heard to order the Chefs choice but opted for the lamb. It was very good! Another in our party ordered the chicken and it was amazing! I would order it the next time I come. The only downside to this restaurant is that with all of the fine food, wine, bourbon and music they did not have an after dinner drink menu. No options what so ever. Because they didn't have this we didn't order desert and went elsewhere. Really too bad because we would have stayed and ordered more. Would definitely go again!

Definitely recommend for a simple place for good food, drinks and music. The choices for the Restaurant Week Prix Fixe were interesting and delicious. Beet salad, mushroom risotto, beef cheek, salmon and chocolate dessert were very good. Definitely will return.

Went here for drinks and to listen to the music. Place was packed. Never did get a seat. Two bands played in the time we were there. The first one was great and the second one was even better. the place was rocking.

A group of us descended on Time to see our favorite group (Tuba Skinny from New Orleans) perform. What a wonderful experience! When you walk in, you are confronted with: to the right, a fancy whiskey bar with tables and a dinner menu; to the left, a small sports bar; and straight ahead, a stairway leading up to a dance hall (also with a bar!). The drinks, while expensive, were wonderful. The several bartenders knew their craft and were amiable and helpful. The atmosphere was informal, friendly and just plain fun (although generally much younger than we). We didn't eat here (next time we will!) so we can't comment on the quality or value of the food.

I've been going to TIME for years now. On the weekends they have the best jazz bands. One side is a regular bar/regular music. The other side is a whiskey bar and jazzy music - which is my favorite side. They have delicious food, too. The upstairs is a club, too. So there's a little bit of everything here.

Went for restaurant week. $35.00 for five courses. Food was good and our entree of salmon was very good. Bar ambience. Live jazz music. Service was very good.

Great bar with lots of good whiskey choices and great music by the live bands and 3 different areas to hang out in, a regular bar area, a bar area with the live music or a dance floor upstairs. This place is great except on the weekends it gets packed (like shoulder to shoulder packed) if thats what you are looking for or if you don't mind that it's great. If you do try to get there earlier and you'll be ok or look elsewhere if you are looking for a laid back late night adventure where you can hear yourself speak.

Stopped in on our way to another jazz gig and the place was popping. Wonderful house band playing cool Philly jazz sounds. Bar was packed and very popular. Recommend it as a cool hangout. We left after 10 on the Thursday when the American Idol hopefuls started to strut their stuff on open mike and give out their twitter feeds.

Right behind the hotel we were staying at so very convenient location ...we picked the jazz side as it was a nice night and windows were open and musicians were just setting up..Staff and manager were very attentive and helpful with food descriptions and suggestions...we both chose the Bourbon salmon with asparagus and fiddlehead fronds for $23...absolutely delicious!...Happy hour wine was $5 and so-so...glass of wine off menu $11 ....Guitarist and singer were great... overall a very nice night out! ....go early or make reservations as bar gets very busy for Happy Hour..

Pleasant, lively but still relaxed atmosphere in the bar area where a small jazz band played. We enjoyed a light supper: Tile fish with a salsa verde and a Bibb salad with peaches, corn and danish blue cheese - both very tasty and just the right amount. The special attraction was the wide variety of whiskies available. Both that we tried were especially good.

We were a bit skeptical about the place as there were rows of dumpsters on the sidewalk as we walked Sansom St. between the French Quarter and Time. The outside and inside decor is not glitzy and there were very few diners when we arrived at 7:30 on a Friday night. However the bar was nearly full, and lively but not unruly. Fare was eclectic and somewhat limited but my grilled vegetables and sausage dish was very good. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing (in spite of the dearth of diners) and selection of drinks was good. Diners increased some during the hour we were there. It could be characterized as a neighborhood gem, but it leans more toward sapphires than diamonds. It makes a more "hip" impression than "WOW!"

Had dinner here on a Sunday and I can't say enough good about our experience. Rahim was our server and he was excellent. The food was delicious, I recommend the Duck en Croute. Their whiskey collection is supurb and Rahim was very knowledgeable, gave us a great recommendation. If you're in Philly and you enjoy Jazz I recommend this place any time. THEY HAVE MUSIC EVERY NIGHT!

Been to time twice this year and have not been disappointed! The live music, the crowd, general ambience is great. I have not had the food yet so can not comment on that. Upstairs can get a little crazy but still able to have a good time. I recommend for a night out with friends upstairs and date night downstairs.

We had ice cold beer here, before wings and burgers. Wings are big tasty and juicy. Burgers are excellent, and there's way too much fries for one person. I'd definitely go back, very good staff

We went to hear the jazz music but were told we could not sit in the restaurant/ table area. Instead they ushered us into this crowded bar with TVs showing sports events. They could have had the TVs showing the live show in the other room. The cocktails were very average and overpriced. They do have an extensive list of whiskeys.

Bar area was not very clean and service was slow or understaffed. Prices were high for the quality of food.

Walked past this place on Samson Street A few times I'm late in the evening when the weather is hot it's completely packed in a live jazz is oozing out through the open windows. So yesterday when it was early I was hungry and in need of a cool beer I stopped by to take in some live jazz to excellent beers and a knock at Mac and cheese. Refined relaxing and reasonably priced. Will be coming back again!

Good Music , Good Food , Nice atmosphere , Highly recommended , friendly staff . well worth a visit.

My favourite dinner in Philly! Philadelphia was not a pleasant trip in many respects. I visited for my birthday and the traffic and lack of parking kept me from visiting more than a few restaurants I wanted to. Before my Grim Philly tour and right after a torrential downpour, I was lucky enough to secure a parking spot allowing me to dine at Time. I love this place. It was one of my most favourite restaurants I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. The decor was classic and dark, just the way I love it. Dark wood and large timepieces on the walls coupled with vibrant art. A beautiful space. Happy hour was on when I arrived on a Sunday afternoon. I was able to order a delicious vodka cocktail named the Sweetums for $5 each. The drink was stiff and well worth the price. A little sweet and tasty. My server was named on my receipt as dining R. She was exceptional. She made me feel welcome and brought everything to the table (with I believe the chef) in great time. This venue does also offer live music, and since hubby plays in a band, I am a huge supporter of this. I didn't get to see live music this night, but love what they are doing with this. I ordered eared Scallops......................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... $36 Carrot purée, crispy pancetta, grilled pineapple, pickled fresno chili, scallion, roasted garlic aioli, watercress Let me just tell you that this was one of the most amazing plates I've EVER ordered at a restaurant. The peppers brought the perfect amount of spice...not overwhelming. And you had the scallops and pineapple to cookit down. There were so many flavour profiles going on in this dish. It was nothing short of astounding. I didn't enjoy Philadelphia in general, but if I ever returned, I would do so to order this dish. I also ordered the Chocolate Pot de Creme for dessert...it was my birthday trip after all. So decadent and delicious. Hats off to the chef because they are excellent...a true tour de force. If you visit Philadelphia, you MUST visit Time. One of my top ten meals of all time.

Good food, very intersting options. You'll find options on their menu that you won't see anywhere else.

Visited here with family on a Friday night out. Place has a great vibe, great atmosphere. Live band when we were seated, but it was a bit loud. Very trendy atmosphere. Two bars, one in the main dining room and one in the pub, both very nice. Food was served hot and fresh. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Meal portions are small or smaller than that I am used to, but it was very good quality. Waitress and waiter were very nice/helpful/friendly. Would go here again, would also just visit for a drink if I'm in the area. Overall a great place in Philadelphia on Sansom Street.

You have the option of the restaurant or bar side. The restaurant side had live music and the bar side has jute box music. Really great vibe either way, but we chose the whiskey bar side. Amazing whiskey selection, and the big surprise, outstanding vegetarian options on the menu. From an appetizer of grilled fresh veggie that vary based on the season to a grilled veggie vegan cheese lasagna. Highly recommended checking it out.

We will be back - great music, fabulous atmosphere, great service. We arrived early enough to catch two groups and a great seat at the bar

Nice cuisine made with fewsh ingredients. ..high quality for us standards. Prices are ok and service was excellent. On top nicelive music. ..a bit liyd maybe.i recommend

We were there to celebrate our friends' mother 85th birthday! She said that she wanted to go to a place where they had jazz & a drink! And did her granddaughter ever pick a great place to celebrate! We all enjoyed our food which ranged from chicken, ribs, salmon, duck & tofu! So, you can tell there was something there for everyone! The only problem was the portions were on the small side but all dishes were delicious. They did sing happy birthday & served her a piece of cake. I tried the buttermilk icecream which was soooo good that it is worth visiting again just to get it! I must say the crowd was much younger than our party but we enjoyed ourselves. We were not rushed at all ..... there from 6:30 until 11:15 having a great time!

There ought to be more places like "Time" -- small menu with good food, complimented by music by a few good players. It was recommended by the desk guy at the nearby Alexander Inn. On a Saturday night at 6pm we almost didn't get a table on the jazz room side but we lucked out. We did not want to eat on the saloon side, but it's good that you can order from that menu as well. The music duo was low-key and very good. I'd call it soft jazz. As we were leaving, a huge party came in. We enjoyed the pumpkin pasta, the duck entree (and I don't usually like duck), and too-good caramel salted ice cream.

We came early and left late and could not find a single flaw in the entire evening. The only complaint we had was about ill-behaving customers seated at the table next to the band and a woman who was trying to bully the young lady dining alone next to us out of her seat. Neither of these were a reflection on the restaurant so they still get a five star rating from us. From the time we walked into the bar we were given the five star treatment, despite the fact that we were wearing our tourist street clothes complete with ball caps to keep the wind from turning our hair into whips. I can't even decide my favorite part of the evening. Its a toss-up between the Absinthe sampler (the Grande Absinthe was my fav), the braised chicken bucatini, listening to Pete and Chris, the attentive bartenders, or the people watching. I'm glad we saved this for our last meal of the trip. Otherwise, we might have returned here night after night and blown our travel budget. As it was, we spent five hours here and ended up eating a late night snack on top of the dinner we consumed. We just did not want to give up our primo bar seats.

Unique but delicious choices on menu. Lamb pappardelle and duck breast with blood orange glaze were both excellent and filling. The live jazz music, with xylophone and guitar, were a wonderful bonus.

Loved the atmosphere and great staff .I was wearing a boot on my foot and Jeff"Bones" took good care of me ion the ice covered steps as well as handling the weekends lines smoothly.Allisay was my girl at the bar Josh also was a great help they were both very informative and with a great a team sved the surround tables and large comfy booths while we loved the jazz band.I sent others from our hotel and they loved it Tim chchedy the downstairs manger must be great to work for.If you drop by tell them SC gal says Hi! Is a hidden local GEM!

Our group of 4 was seated promptly . We ordered several items. The appetizers are large and could replace an entree. The service was a bit slow. We were seated next to the band which was not super loud thankfully but still enjoyable. I would recommend this place.

I have been here several times and I pleased to report that the atmosphere has been consistently wonderful. Tuesdays nights are "open-mic" and the talent that plays instruments and sings has been really good. I also enjoy the wait staff, they are friendly and attentive. During both visits had some different samplings of the food and that was tasty. I suggest you try the Chef Sampler - it's a winner. Great place for a date or to hang out with friends.

I've been to Time 2-3 times. I've never eaten there (just drinks). The atmosphere is so nice. There are three rooms. To the left is the main bar and a space for seating and the amazing jazz bands! To the right is the whiskey room, devoted to, yes, whiskey! Upstairs is the club room, with a DJ. Funky hip place...check it out!

I went here on a Friday night for post dinner dinks. There was a $5 entry fee. As you walk in there was a music room with a band playing some great upbeat jazz and to the right was the bar where we found a booth and drank some excellent single malts. Upstairs was more of a night club with good music. The crowd was quite young, but not so much as to make me feel old :) it was pretty relaxed and the waiter was very friendly and helpful. Overall a really good place, with a good vibe, good decor, good music and lots of choice.

Absinthe bar, good whiskey, good beers, dark atmosphere. I prefer 1 drink here and moving on.

If you like people-watching, a diverse beer selection, and courteous service, go to Time. Live music at one bar. Cool juke box at the other.

We did the Prohibition Tour of Philadelphia and this was the first stop so I didn't get to spend as much time as I would have liked there. I will tell you that the bartender for our pre tour drink was out of this world friendly and the manager couldn't have been nicer and very informative. Great Flatbreads too.

Attended during Restaurant week for dinner with friends. We all enjoyed the selections for dinner, each of us were able to sample from of one another plates. Servers were very pleasant and friendly. We were lucky to enjoy live jazz music, making the atmosphere very relaxing which added to a great time with friends.

Best Live Rock in Philadelphia. Fast and professional bartenders. Kind and selective guards. Good for couples. Tasty cocktails. Good price

Has a good selection of drinks and great bartenders. Bar is split into two separate ones- one side has live music-very full every time we were there, and the quieter left side. We visited several times. The Downeastern Cider is great. We had one meal there but were drinking so no real memory of it- other than it apparently was good.

We went for dinner last night we had fish and French fries and chicken very good standard of food , waiter was very nice ,wine a little expensive however the live music was really good and you don't have to pay to listen, so worth paying a little extra Would recommend

Went here on a food tour! Excellent cocktails (and extensive cocktail list). All top shelf liquor. Mad Elf was even on draft (which is not something I've ever seen before--maybe I haven't been going to the right places, lol). They have a bar area, dining area (with live Jazz) and a club area upstairs. Excellent appetizers

Happened on this establishment after promised time to be seated at Le Vez got pushed back another hour. Went in about 7 on a Saturday night without a reservation. Were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Jazz duo playing but not so loud as to make conversation difficult. Friendly, attentive service. Really good food with a Southern vibe. Duck on cheese polenta was fabulous. Dining companions pronounced fried chicken and steak entrees to be delicious. All agreed that mac and cheese ordered off the bar menu was to die for. Chocolate parfait/pot de creme was excellent. Consensus was that Time was A great find and a serendipitous way ro end our Phiily adventures.

My husband and I just stumbled across this bar one night when we were walking the streets of Philly during a business trip. We heard the music and decided to check it out. BEST DECISION EVER! They were having an Open Mic Night that was incredible! The house band backed up anyone who wanted to jam. There were singers, guitar players, and to our surprise and delight, a trombone and trumpet player! Everyone was awesome and the house band kept it moving and very lively. We had such a great time that we decided to go back two days later and El Caribefunk band was playing live. It was the BEST live show I've ever seen and it was just an impulse decision to go. The energy of the place is awesome, it's clean, service was good, although on those busy nights they probably could use an extra waiter or two. I would go back to Philly just to hang at this bar, and I'm not even a big bar person. I didn't eat any food there, but everything looked good. They had a HUGE selection of whiskey, if you are in to that.

I’m in Philly regularly and Time is near the top of my list of regular haunts. Great ambience, very low light and always live jazz... nice. In the height of the summer, with the windows open at street level, a packed room and some kickin vibes, it’s a favourite hang out. Food is good, service often quite slow which is ok so long as I have a beer.

I went here with some colleagues. This place had good drinks and good music. The overall atmosphere there was great!

We picked this restaurant to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The food was all wonderful and the house wine was pretty decent. While the live music was a great touch, we could barely hear one another even when it felt like we were screaming. This restaurant is not vegetarian friendly, only one dish on the menu that might fill you up.

What do you get when you mix one part Jazz Club with one part Bar and one part DJ Club? Time. While I found the Jazz portion amazing, the others just seemed ok. Honestly, I'd still give the place four stars until you factor in the prices. While the themes may be divided up nicely, the prices were all upscale. Fair enough for the Jazz portion were my drinks are served in glasses, but not quite right for the watered down plastic cup offerings upstairs. I'll end by saying I had an amazing time and considering the lack of good Jazz options in the city will keep this place in mind.

Service was good, nice beer selection, can't speak about the food, but the atmosphere drove me nuts. Ultra trendy, "I'm pretty cool and I know it" type place. Split after a beer and found Opa, see that review for impressions.

Nothing special - good whisky options though. We didn’t enjoy live music which I hear is often good. Dark place - patrons were upscale and young. Probably wouldn’t go back - but certainly wouldn’t avoid it by any means.

Happy hour local beer was $3 and the cocktails were $5. Not to mention the live music. We only drank and had one appetizer, but it was all good. Terrific vibe.

My wife and I visited Time in late June 2019. They have 3 rooms, a restaurant, Whiskey Room, and Upstairs where a DJ was playing music. We visited all three. We first ate dinner where a band was playing nice jazz music. This is what initially attracted us to the restaurant. We both had the salmon dish with scallops as an appetizer and both were delicious. Our server was pleasant, engaging, and professional. We next ventured over to the whiskey bar. It was crowded but we were able to find a seat. There was also a nice mixture of background music. I’d never been to a whiskey bar before so, I wasn’t sure how it worked besides simply ordering a drink. The bartenders were extremely helpful in explaining everything to me. I was told that they have over 300 whiskeys from which to choose. I sampled and enjoyed 3. We next checked out the upstairs room. It was early in the evening, so there weren’t many people there. The DJ seemed to be playing the latest pop and hip hop which was okay but not really for us. We didn’t stay very long. So, I’m not sure what other types of music she played. Overall, Time made for a nice date night with my wife.

Good selection of bourbons and scotch. Nice staff, cool vibe. Food available but did not try....menu looked good though.

We just happend to stop in Time while visiting Philly over night. A real treat from the staff that greeted us, the jazz musicians, and the dinner! Loved everythig about it - felt right at home.

Yes, thats a bold statement, but I've visited some of the best Jazz venues in America and I must say Time is on the top of my list. The band that played was electric. A mixture of jazz/rock/funk filled the room. Make sure you get there early to get a seat. We arrived around 9pm, by 10:30 pm it was standing room only.

Came here after a long day of meetings (I was in town on business). This was a great location to have some drinks and unwind. The Food was good, everyone enjoyed their meals, the drinks were all good, the music was students from Temple's Jazz program. I enjoyed it all, I would def. come back here if I was in town again. Great spot.

Stopped in on a Saturday night for a drink. Live music (jazz) was really good and watching the band set up through the large street-facing windows was neat. Good bourbon list and the Wild Card cocktail was yummy. Attentive and quick bartenders.

Our private party upstairs was great, though I passed by the bar on my way out and did like the live music. Solid bar for turning evenings into nights...

So the food is gourmet which means tasty small portions, but the draw for me of this place was the music. The music upstairs was way too loud but the three piece ensemble on 31 August was on point..there were two excellent bands and I rarely close a place but couldn’t leave this one...drinks are pricey but their liquor collection was unmatched. Lots of options in this venue and a great place to people watch...highly recommend a visit here and try the food because my opinion is just that..one persons opinion ...worth a look..a couple times....

We went when Joe Truglio was playing and wow, wow, WOW! We were in the dining room and took a table so we had to order food. We had the smoked duck and it was ridiculously good! Totally blown away with the standard of food for a music joint. Absolutely recommend visiting TIME when you’re in Philly!

We were at all three bars on a Saturday night, and boy was it packed! The drinks were VERY good and everyone had a good time. We were dancing upstairs, enjoying live music downstairs, and had a whiskey in the whiskey bar. A great place to go if you have folks with different tastes in your group. It accommodated our group of 10 nicely because we all had a bar which reflected our personal style and we could easily bounce between all three.

Had dinner at Time last night. Great food and service! Added bonus was jazz duo doing Christmas songs. Loved the atmosphere and will definitely be back!

We like Time so much we came 3 nights in a row! The food is ok nothing great, but that's not why we went... the jazz ans and atmosphere were just awesome. Service was great and I would definitely recommend as a must go to place for a great time and music!

Restaurant theme/decor was impressive and it ends there. The food menu was uninspiring and the service was awkward. The microbrew beer menu was good for this type of restaurant, but the wine menu was overpriced for cheaper wines. A word of advice: Never order the fries!! They were over powered by some type of strange powdery spice...and I love spicy food.

Early Friday evening on 13th Street is bustling. Lots of activity, eating, drinking, and laughter. On Sansom Street live Jazz playing through the open windows was luring passersby…including me. Enter Time with three bar options: Live Jazz in the main space, a sports bar, and later evening upstairs bar. The atmosphere is warm with lots of wood and low lighting conducive for easy listening and intimate conversations. The staff is friendly. Bartender Theo knows his cocktails and his customers. The bar menu as well as dinner menu are also available at the many tables. Enjoy Time!

Amazing Band on the First Friday of each month, will now plan many more outings on this day. Went with a group of friends but next time I will just take my husband and plan on hitting several of the other amazing restaurants and bars in the area.

A groovy little spot; fresh live jazz that was just right; reasonable price; wonderful fresh, local food and amazing service made for a fantastic night! Time is one of those places where the more you listen to the talented staff, the better your meal will be. Our server, Josh, sold us on the "Sunchokes" - part of the stalks from sunflowers that taste like a potato/artichoke blend...phenomenal appetizer. The menu is not big on choices - basically a steak, a pork chop, a salmon, and a duck breast the night we were there, but each one came with creative sides and was made to perfection. Everyone loved their meal. Josh then told us about their homemade ice cream, which was delightful! One of the orders was served late and the sous chef came out to personally apologize and provided us with an additional "on the house" amazing off menu creation that was incredible and made for a great closing element to our experience.

My favorite bar of the moment

This is a hot spot so get here early. We had a light dinner and some drinks while listening to great Jazz music(played by Pete)I could listen to him all night. Always meeting nice people for great tomes there.

we came here with some friends for dinner, we wanted something unique, and this place fit the bill. Our very knowledgeable waiter had good suggestions for drinks, the "G Thang" (glennmorangie with Lillet) was excellent, and our friend's beer/cider flight was chosen with our waiter's input, and was ell-received. My husband's grilled octopus was an appetizer, but was sufficient for a light meal- it was very tender, on a bed of greens, and a very nice sauce. I had the salmon, done medium-rare at the chef's suggestion, and it was moist, fresh, and lightly seasoned to allow the quality of the fish speak for itself. Our other friend was not as pleased with the chicken bucatini, she felt the chicken was dry and the pasta OK. For dessert, the sorbets and ice creams were very nice, and the bread pudding was also very good. There was live jazz music when we were there, they have live music every night with different bands every night, they were not overly loud which was appreciated. Prices were reasonable, there is also a bar menu and a chef's tasting menu. Service was a little slow since they were fairly busy, but we were enjoying the music.

Popped in en-route to Basketball, brilliant place, service was above and beyond, had bar snacks and drinks, all great.

I was referred here by waitress at a restaurant. Don't wait until 9 to see the band listed on the web site. Got there early and there was a singer, too. Really nice place to sit and enjoy great jazz.

Good place for dinner with good music even with COVID-19. I was looking for the place to have dinner during my visit to Philadelphia and decided to stop here for dinner. I chose to sit in side and I was pleased to see all measures are made to protect public and workers based on CDC guideline. Food is good and the staff were friendly and helpful which made it delightful and stress free. I was surprised to see the band but the trio were seated apart from each other. Good Job Time.

Ate here a couple of times already, and the food did not disappoint. We particularly enjoyed the cheese plate and the tasting menu, which was way more food than I had expected! The live music is nice too. I would definitely recommend this place.

This was my first visit to Time. I picked it based on location and the availability of a table when I wanted it. I am happy I stumbled upon it. Since we went during restaurant week we ordered off their tasting menu. Five courses. Each one with great presentation, great tastes: beet chips with goat cheese, probably the best deviled egg I have ever had (generally I don’t care for them), gooseberries, mushroom risotto, grilled sourdough, salmon with Brussel sprouts, pumpkin bread pudding! Everyone else likes their food as well. The atmosphere was good and a jazz band was playing. I normally don’t like live music because it’s too loud but happily it’s wasn’t too loud. Service was good, and in a hopping part of town. I would definitely go back.

I went for a friend's party she was having in the absinthe bar. It's different from a lot of the other bars and I loved the variety of food and drinks.

Great bar great food great atmosphere. Whiskey bar on one side jazz bar in other side. Devil eggs were great! Mussels in a rich broth with grilled bread was excellent!

Had a business gathering of 45 people at this place in their function room upstairs. Nice venue inside and good space for our event. The music was good and appropriate - jazz etc. the food / snacks were high quality. Chicken or beef on sticks, veg option, range of cheeses etc. fresh cookies for afters. The beer and wine were good and everyone seemed to have a great time (pardon the pun). Staff were friendly and professional and the event organisation went without a hitch. Overall good evening and great location for our customer event.

I love live music and Time has great jazz musicians playing there, at least on the Friday and Saturday nights I went, while visiting Philly. The bar can get crowded but the atmosphere is great and lively. You can't go wrong drinking whiskey and listening to great music.

We didn't eat at the restaurant or on the bar side, but we did have a great time here. We stayed to the right when we walked in, a small whiskey bar area, probably seats 50 people total with a little more room to stand. The whiskey drinks the bartenders made were good, the whiskey selection was excellent, the beer selection was good too. The music was a mix of rock and some rap, sounds crazy, I know, but it was good, not a quiet place, but not too loud where you have to yell. It's tough to get a seat so if you do, don't give it up until you're ready to leave. Dimly lit with dark wood accents give this place the trendy and cool feel. They do have a few tv's to watch the game on, so that's always nice. Perfect for a happy hour with a couple co-workers, or small groups to have some drinks. We loved this place, great for a guys hangout, but there were also a lot of women in here the first night we went in. Yeah, we went more than once, highly recommend this place.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff, attentive service and great bands. Reasonably priced food and drinks. I love coming here.

I came here for a few dates in December and ordered their cheese plate and the homemade chocolate ice cream pie. Oh my god, I couldn't stop eating it. They make ALL their ice cream in house, and the service is fabulous. You feel like you're walking back in "time" when you come into the building. The bar is in the middle, so it's never too far away to grab a drink, and sometimes they have nice jazz playing. Any sandwich you choose will be good, but save room for dessert!

Stopped in for Happy Hour with group of friends. Jazz was far to loud. Couldn’t hear the person next to us. Left in a hurry.

This bar/restuarant is cool and funky. Decorated with time pieces of every kind and description, some working some not made for an interesting evening. Live music and an open mic night on Tuesday made an evening meal special. We opted for the taster menu although not cheap it was delicious, outstanding was the shrimp appertiser. A wonderful atmosphere with really enjoyable food, the menu includes bar food so any pocket is catered for in this funky joint.

Excellent food, great wine list and friendly atmosphere

This jazz restaurant was good food (I just loved those gnocchies) ja easy feeling. Service was effective and friendly. Acoustics of the place is little bit hard which makes music somehow noisy (if it is even slightly loud). I liked tha place, but total experience was near average.

Fortunately wandered into Time on a recent Friday night in Philly with my GF. This is a bar with a diverse crowd with a couple of bars downstairs and apparently another bar upstairs. Yes .... this bar has LIVE music. There was a five dollar cover to get in, however, to see live music, it was clearly worth it. My GF and I found a spot near the band and some tables. We easily made conversation with one of the band members, and made friends with a couple visiting from out of time as well as a few other folks. The bartenders were attentive and the drinks were good. This is one place in Philly that I would definitely recommend and I look forward to returning. It is located on Samson Street and within easy walking distance to the Westin.

This is a nice place - decent craft beer, extensive whisky list, good service. We all ordered dinner in the bar, burger & fries. The burgers were pretty good but a little smaller than most I've had. The fries were amazing and best I've had. Luckily they give you a nice big pile!

I am from LA and I went to Philly for a work conference. As I was walking along the city, my co-workers and I stopped by TIME to get a "quick" drink. Well, we were so surprised by the atmosphere and the AMAZING singer they had playing that we decided to stay and have dinner. I had the chef's sampler and really enjoyed each plate they brought out. The chef can def cook a meal! The bartender, who also waited on us, was extremely friendly and nice and made us feel right at home. Interested in a great drink? Try the "Yankee candle"- whiskey. It was soooooo good!

Great experience at Time Awesome food and excellent service. our server was super professional and was checking in us frequently. Nothing was missing. Food was outstanding Music awesome Will repeat when we come back to Philadelphia!

If you like being threatened by the staff, come here. After seating, the hostess came up to us (I repeat: after we have already been seated) saying that the spot we were sitting is generally reserved for four people (two tables next to each other). I said “okay” and she said “so....” I politely responded “what would you like us to do?” And she said “um, like, Not sit here?” Without offering us another table. We were confused - so I simply said “I think we will just sit here, thanks” and she said “okay, I’ll inform the wait staff” in some kind of threatening tone. It was weird. Our waitress came by and was nicer than ever. We were able to shake it off, but we will never return. There are too many other places in this world to go spend our time. I’ve read google reviews for this place and found this to be a theme. She left us feeling like we were going to have to defend ourselves like it was some kind of street fight or something. Just a bad vibe. Not worth it. Go somewhere else, unless you’re looking for a fight. They could just rename this place to “Fight Club Cafe” and You would know what to expect.

Time is always a good choices for a drink at the bar or a meal. We had dinner there the other evening and the food was high quality and tasty, the service is excellent as always and the live music creates a perfect background for a very pleasant experience. Tim goes out of his way to give great advice what the chef has prepared that day and he is extremely knowledgeable of the array of Time's bar options. Time is a great place to take visitors unfamiliar with Philadelphia restaurant offerings.

Great place to hang out and chill . We went on a Sunday where they said it wouldn't be busy , however it was a good crowd and awesome drink specials.

This is an excellent bar off 13th Street. Bartenders are passionate about their work, will offer wonderful suggestions, and take time (excuse the pun) with each guest. The atmosphere is calm and refreshing. Live music some nights. Would give more stars if I could!

The food & atmosphere is all round a great experience. There are two sides to this place - one with a more sophisticated/live jazz bar & the other a more chilled 'bar' playing rock music. Both serve really tasty, high quality food that will satisfy both a basic & more varied palette. The service was really outstanding, the cocktails excellent too!

Good music, which we hoped we'd get to sit and listen too while we drank but the surly waitress demanded we open a tab or leave because ordering rounds at a time wasn't good enough for some reason, guess the four fs us we weren't drinking the $15 martinis plus $5 tip per martini fast enough . . . and before you ask we were well above the two drink minimum.

Food was excellent. We had the 7 course tasting menu. While it was very good they didn't adjust portion for a multi course meal bringing a few full size appetizers, a couple courses of full sized entrees, and a full size desert. Again, all was excellent, but 2 of us could have easily split 1 order. Cocktails were super!

A great place to start a night out. Whiskey from everywhere and live music open mic night is my favorite night

Had a really nice meal at Time last night. It was a short walk from our hotel. We went specifically for the Sunday night jazz jam. The restaurant has two bars. There is a whisky bar on one side and a separate dining area bar on the other. The music stage area is in the dining area bar. There was no cover charge. We were seated at a two top near the window which was very cozy while the baseboard heat was on. For some reason they turned off the heat when the music started. It got pretty cold after that so I put my coat on. The service was excellent. They have a large selection of beers. We had beers, a couple of appetizers and a dessert. Also had espressos. Smoked salmon toast was delicious as were the mussels. The mussels were kinda small but they gave us a lot. The dessert was a piece of pumpkin cake that was very small and dry. It was the size of a Twinkie which wouldn't have been so bad if it were good. I suspect it was old. The waiter had encouraged me to try the chocolate sorbet. I should have listened. So, bottom line, I like Time and recommend you give it a try. PS The picture shows an absinthe dispenser I noticed across the room. Thought I should make note in case you like the drink.

Friendly bartenders. Fabulous Cocktails. Great live music. Go to place after show at the Kimmelman or one of the Broad Street theaters

A friend and I came for the music (live bands 7 days a week!), but had something to eat along with some drinks. Overall, the relaxed atmosphere would make even average food seems good. We enjoyed our night out until 1:30 am and would go back next time in Philly (or Philla depending on who you ask)

Loved this place! Fantastic bourbon selection, awesome service (thanks, Sebastian!), great wings. Nice ambiance and good music (not live, on the bar side).
Nice little spot
We hit this place after a matinee on a Saturday evening. We had reservations and were seated right away. Ordered drinks, they were quite good. They have a selection of absinthes that I have always wanted to try. They brought out the glass of absinthe and a large water container to drip over a sugar cube. The "absinthe ritual" was unique and enjoyable. We ordered our entrees and everything was very good. Duck gnocchi was outstanding. The only knock I can give them is that I ordered grilled octopus and they did not have it ready. Overall we would recommend this restaurant.
