Everything you would expect from an Irish Pub. So welcoming, great food and drinks and bar staff - so friendly!! On returning to Chicago, this would probably become my local.

We came on a rainy Saturday around lunchtime and the place was about half full. It quickly filled up. Very good selection of draft beers and bottled beers. TVs everywhere for those interested in catching whatever game is on. I recommend.

I got in just under the last call for the kitchen. I ordered the wings and asked the bartender for some help with the heat index. I said medium, he said buffalo. Well, my lips were on fire for the next half hour. lol. The celery/carrots were a healthy portion, but the wings were a bit overcooked, making them tough.

Forgot to take pictures, but it was descent. The garlic fries were my favorite. The chicken/pita thing(I forget the name) had a great flavor. The wings were okay. The street corn was not even close to on point IMO. They tried a spin on it and missed the mark for me. Others may enjoy it though, I just had my heart set on the legit take of it. The burgers looked good as well.

The food was really disappointing. The burger was not great because the bun was too wet and the meat was too watery and not very tasty actually. The steak was also a bit chewy. The waiter was really not friendly, he came to check on us regularly but his smile-less attitude and tone suggested he was annoyed by us (compared to the tables of girls behind). I guess he did his job, period.

From my hotel nearby I was guided to this pub for a good burger. On a Thursday evening, this underground pub was crowded and I had to wait to find a place at the bar. The atmosphere was good and the food experience was even better. A juicy burger, grilled to perfection and supplied with savory caramelized onions and blue cheese. Mmmmh. The accompanying fries were flat and could have been more exciting. The selection of beers was large, and I ended up drinking three different taps during my stay. But I missed the enthusiasm of the bartenders in selling and letting me try other brands. Perhaps even a more inviting beer menu would do the trick. Overall a good evening eating, drinking and watching sports.

The pickle fries…WOW! They were so good my husband and I ended up getting a second order! We went after the Motley Crue concert and this was a perfect after concert spot to get some good bar food! Our server was never at our table for more than a few seconds but she was very busy, as it was pretty packed…but she did not miss a beat on anything! Would definitely go back! Moscow mules were great…burger was good and my husband really loved the wings!

Brought in a big party to eat, drink and spend lots of money. Manager was not accommodating when we asked to be moved to a bigger table. We finally moved three time. Wish he could of worked with us in the beginning so we didn’t have to play musical chairs.

We stumbled upon this pub on our first night in Chicago as it was close to our hotel. Very lively and excellent service by a friendly waitress. We were tired but not too exhausted to try the spicy chicken wings which were delicious. Great atmosphere, do try it!

We visited Timothy O‘Toole‘s Pub in Chicago yesterday with some colleagues. Initially, the service was very friendly, and everything progressed smoothly. The burgers and beer arrived promptly. The food was decent, but nothing special—definitely average. Unfortunately, my burger was overcooked, even though I had ordered it medium. The real issue arose when it was time to pay. Each of us wanted to settle our own bill, but the waitress informed us that splitting checks wasn't possible due to restaurant policy. We explained that we were just colleagues, not related, and would not be seeing each other after the visit. In 2024, it should be a simple task to provide separate checks, as many other establishments do. After much reluctance, the waitress agreed to make an exception but emphasized she would get in trouble for going against the restaurant's rules. She then proceeded to ask each of us what we had ordered in a rather brusque and almost rude manner. Overall, the visit to Timothy O‘Toole‘s Pub was just okay and quite average. The hassle over splitting checks and the mediocre burger have convinced me not to return. It's a shame, really, as there are plenty of better restaurants nearby.

If you are looking for a place to watch a match, check this bar out. They have super friendly staff and serve tasty food and beers at a reasonable price.

We visited Chicago recently and had seen this bar on the TV show Man V Food and luckily enough was across the road from our hotel. We were in Chicago for 4 nights and went to this bar on every night so cant have been that bad. Steak burgers were great and I think they had something like 40 odd different beers. Waitress service even for just drinks and reasonably priced for a bar in the heart of the city. Screens everywhere showing all different sports including live UK footy. Enjoy.

If they didn’t want our business, they could’ve just said so. Tried to go in as a family (yes it was St Patrick’s Day-but lunch time). They were not friendly but said approximately a 30 minutes wait. We said okay and offered to split up our party of 7. They said it didn’t matter as they had no tables available. Immediately after putting our name in, they sat a party of 5 and two tables of two and continued seating people. We asked again about splitting our party and they again said there were no tables available. We left. Terrible business. Will never go again and would not recommend.

This was a great sports bar/pub with a variety on the menu. Nachos are served on a cookie sheet and are plentiful. You won’t go away hungry or thirsty, and if you do it your own fault. Great gathering spot.

It is a very nice place to enjoy a beer in downtown Chicago, highly recommended, food is also good, wings, potatoes

During my first visit to Chicago I went here as it was across the street from my hotel. Their $5 margaritas for happy hour are delicious.

Came here because it was within walking distance from my hotel and really wanted a beer. The atmosphere was nice, not very crowded (I came during off-hours around 3-4 PM). We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip, which was alright. We also got the shepherd’s pie and the fish and chips (amazing batter). The service was slow considering it wasn’t busy, which is why I’m giving 4 stars, but the food overall was great. Definitely coming back.

Place on the whole nice, although with some difficulties in booking just because we were 7 instead of 6 as expected for online booking. After trying for 2 times to book going directly to the place, we managed to enter The food was good and plentiful, but when the bill arrived we had the surprise of an extra cost of 20% for what they called "large party" of which we had not been informed in advance. The motivation is attributable to the compensation of the increased service due to the fact that we were 7. And in fact the waitress was very busy urging us several times to order more or clear the table.... In summary, good food but bad service and unclear rules, we definitely will not be back!

We've been to Chicago as tourists at least 20 times and greatly regret we haven't run across this place before last weekend. The location was great (we were staying at the Sheraton at the river); the staff was very attentive and professional; there were as many TVs as one could wish for (they even sucked it up and had the Yankees game on during NFL games); and the mac & cheese was to DIE FOR! Kuddos, guys.

I've been looking forward to coming to Timothy O'Tools since I found out there was 48 beers to choose from and didn't disappoint. I have 5oz glasses so I could sample more beers which was great and I had the Nachos on my own and they where great. I took photo's of the beers and posted on Facebook and also messenger my mate who likes ales and he loved it. I would definately recomended to go even just to drink the wide range of beers, they alsohave 70 HD tv's all around the pub.

We had the trio dip pretzels ,they were the best we ever had. I had the Fish and, Chips, you get three pieces of fish, coleslaw and a lot of fried fries, it was delicious. The steak dip was hearty and big. You can't go wrong with ordering any of the food, plus the drinks were spot on. We had a young lady serving us and she was amazing, being there when you need something but not to much. Wish I could remember her name, she did a great job.

Visited here last year and it was amazing. Today however was a big disappointment. The only thing Irish about this place was the Guinness was served in a Guinness glass. As an Irish visitor expected a bit more. Food was cold and the server was very rude and the service was terrible.

Did not intend to end up here, but stumbled upon it while looking for food. The atmosphere was good and the food was excellent. I would now go back for this place

Good food, plenty of beers, and good service. The only think that is a bit wired to me is that is underground,

We were looking for a sports bar to watch the NCAA final game. After researching lists of best Chicago sports bars, we chose this one. We had walked past it earlier on this trip, and based on the exterior, we were surprised that the bar is actually in the basement. It is huge, though, and has a ton of TVs. It was packed for this game, but we managed to get a table. Drink prices are decent for Chicago, and they have nightly specials. See picture. My date had the Reuben and homemade chips. The chips were a wee bit greasy, but tasty. The Reuben could have used a bit more kraut, but the corned beef was delicious. I had the Michigan Salad as a wrap- any of their salads can be made into a wrap. the wrap was huge! Overall it was tasty, except the chicken breast was very dry. I had French Onion soup as a side, and it was very good. A little on the sweet side, the onions were caramelized nicely, very tender. The atmosphere is homey, a very authentic sports bar feel.

Wife and I stopped here to eat dinner before heading to the theater. Service was good and the food was tasty. Fyi the nachos are huge ... and the berria beef meat is delicious .

We had a lovely lunch here after arriving in city recommended by our hotel , lovely choice of food of Main menu and set lunch menu lovey food and service

We cannot get over how good the food Is here! I am super picky about Alfredo sauce snd their Alfredo was absolutely amazing! Every dish we ordered was a 10/10 and the service was great! Thank you

Good vibe on a week night. Very popular spot and the evening grew long. Staff was able to handle large group who was slightly demanding. Good drinks and friendly staff. Enjoyable

We had a big group celebrating together and so this place was chosen. It has very steep stairs to get to the actual restaurant. The host offered to carry my walker upstairs which was very nice. the place is a great bar. If you want to watch sports, even better! We had a private room and were treated very well. The food was just subpar. I had the fish and chips with coleslaw. the fish looked good, but was inedible. I have never had such tough fish. The fries were ok, and the coleslaw very average. My husband had the Little Timmy and while it looked good and tasted good, my husband ended up with quite a stomach ache.

Food was poor and services was even worse. Took forever to get a drink. Food came out lukewarm at best. Took a long no time to get salsa and sour cream to go with burrito. Took forever to get check. Was highly reviewed on google. Wouldn’t recommend

Stopping by after a day of indoor simulator golfing, and at the end of the afternoon NFL games, this place was bopp'in! Loud crowd of after-the-Bears-victory crowd and an avid bar scene. By 6PM the place had calmed down and there are plenty of NFL viewing options and some very, very good wings to be had. The libation was outstanding and the service was impeccable!

Just average bar fare. Service a bit slow after being served. Louts of tv's to watch sports. What you would expect at a bar.

Excellent service. The nachos and the hamburgers are very good. The beer also was good. I recommend going to this pub

During our self-designed walking tour, we stopped for a mid afternoon pause at Timothy O’Toole’s Pub. After walking in the door and down the stairs, we knew we were in the right place. The place was hopping! The hostess recognized us as a foursome wanting to chat and lead us to the back, the quiet end of the bar. In the process, we strolled past dozens of patrons having a great time in the game rooms. In the back, peace erupted. The difference was surprising. TTP has full drink and food menus. We enjoyed apps, drinks, service and conversation. Exactly what we were looking for. TTP is easy to find, has comfortable seating and plenty of TVs. A fun vibe.

Late night food after ballgame—arrived about 10:30 and still aerving—kids under 21 were ok. Service was aberage but food came out quick. Had wings and they were aolid-ordered a 1lb tho and got 6 bone in wings which seemed light. Good flavor 7.5/10 overall

Lots of t.v.'s, drinks and food on hand. I loved the steak and frites and the other items that was ordered was just as good.

Awful experience. I went into this establishment at 11.00 pm for a couple of drinks. It was quite busy but not so busy that I couldn’t get a seat by the bar. I waited and I waited and I waited but I was not approached or acknowledged by anyone for around 15 minutes before I got up and walked out. The two members of staff behind the bar walked past me a number of times, if I had been served then I wouldn’t have tipped, you could imagine how well that would have gone down!! Unfortunately now tipping has become expected no matter how poor the service.

Stopped in here Sunday afternoon. Place was busy but service was very good. Very friendly and food was good. Had wings and the southwest wrap. Good good. Nice selection. Great place to watch a sporting event. TVs were everywhere. Sign said home of American Outlaws so should be a good place where to watch soccer as well. Would come back pretty cool place.

Looking for a sports bar with a great menu, this is it. The food was great. Service was attentive. Very good place for watching every type of sport.

Went twice to eat at the restaurant, tasty food, good beer. Jennifer and Daniela were our two servers. Very helpful, professional and pleasant. Will go there again when next in that area.

Just around the corner from our Hotel we found Timothy O'Toole's Pub, a splendid place for food, but we only wanted a beer, lots of choices, sampled some local beers in a pleasant atmosphere with great service.

Found this bar via trip advisor reviews, went there first time for lunch and food and service were great so much so we went back and watched the baseball, would recommend

Great food, and out Group had fast service after a play at 10:30 pm. We ended up going back twice. Great burgers.

Nice sports-pub vibe with larger than average food menu and ale list. Had the black bean and rice bowl with chicken. It was very tasty. Only reason for 4 stars is the portion size; the bowl was closer to a lunch portion than dinner. But I would come back again.

Stopped by first night in city for a few drinks, busy but got seats at bar and good choice for drinks. Just found from hotel so stopped by twice for lunch, good menu choice, portions and service .

Fell upon this downstairs Irish bar to avoid the thunder storm and ended up staying a few hours. Only drinks we said which turned into dinner as well. The boneless chicken wings are delicious and the chilli bowl. Great selection of beers we tried too. Our server was so lovely and we had a great chat. Her recommendations for beers were spot on.

Flew in from Australia and arrived at 10pm. Not much else open but was glad that we went to Timothy O’Tooles. Food was amazing! I had the siracha rice bowl with cauliflower rice and shrimp which was very delicious. My partner had the who’s your Daddy burger which he said was very delicious. Waitress Megan was extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Only downside was that the music was a bit loud but at least it was good music.

Make sure you order appetizers, specifically, the hot soft pretzels! BEST ever. They are almost toasted or deep fried? They come with 3 dipping sauces. Great selection of craft beers. Dinner portions are generous… the nachos could feed 3 people easily. Wings are HOT, no matter how mild you go. Friendly staff, great service.

Excellent pub with impeccable meals (lunch, portions, dishes and desserts) and various drinks options! It is worth it both for those who want to go drink and eat alone, and for those who want to follow the American sports that are left over screens to follow in any Mood of the Pub!

The food is OK, but the service is great. We waited in line to get in on March 16th and the 17th but that was expected. Great atmosphere. Plenty of bar service options all around the establishment. Only problem was the downstairs bathrooms flooded and were out of commission.

So we got in late and we’re starving…didn’t want to “dine” wanted to eat…so our concierge suggested Timothy O’Toole’s …it was a close walk and opened late…we jump on it and were pleasantly surprised…our server was great…wonderful specials.. truffle fries amazing…portions generous…food was fresh, beautiful presented…a great meal…reasonable priced…

Solid pour on the drinks, friendly staff. A ton of flat screens to watch sports. Reasonable prices on drinks.

Great family pub, and great place to watch a game. We are visitors from NY and happened upon this place. Great prices, good menu, great service. A hidden gem in our opinion. A short walk from the Mag Mile. There are stairs to get in if you have mobility/stroller.

We chose to make Timothy O’Tooles our dinner stop. We sat at the bar where our bartenders were attentive and very good at their craft. My Old Fashioned was perfect - love that giant ice cube - you rarely find that at a bar. Our meal was served quickly- it was hot and tasty.

If you love football and you want to eat while you watch football, this is the best sports bar around! The service is impeccable and the food is fantastic. I loved the buffalo chicken egg rolls.

The saucey fingers are money!!! 😋👍They are delicious!! All the food here is really good!! One of the funnest bars in downtown Chicago!! They have a ton of TVs, pool tables, great beer in stock, and it is a big bar!! Great spot for brunch, lunch, and dinner!!

Nice place to watch sports and drink beers, gret selection of drafts and bottle beers. the food was good, ordered chicken wings and ribs. good size and ok priced. a lot of tvs to watch a lot of games and sport events. good atmosphere during the hawks games.

When you walk up to the door it does not seem very large. However you go downstairs and it is much bigger than expected. It was a nice place! The food was tasty and the service was awesome. They have pool tables and other things to do. Worth visiting for sure especially if you like pubs.

I had dinner with my family here for two consecutive nights. We loved it! The food was really good, very American and pub-like. The waitors and waitresses were really nice and available. There are TVs everywhere on the walls and the beer menu was very big and satisfying. The one thing you need to be careful though (especially if you're not used to eating a lot) is the portions. They are BIG. Just get one plate, don't be tempted to get an appetizer.

I was in Chicago on a Sunday and wanted to see my home NFL team play. Found this bar on Trip Advisor and decided to check it out because it looked like they had plenty of TV's. They did... They had every game playing with tags on each TV so you knew which games you could see from each table. Awesome! The food was good and the service was attentive as various friends stopped by for a drink while we watched the games.

Very noisy place again. But cozy and delicious food. In Chicago there is a lot of choice in restaurants, but as elsewhere in the USA the menus are often similar and limited.

Food was good and the service was cool but the place definitely had that old Worn bar smell. We just were walking by and thought of beer and some appetizer sounded good and it didn’t disappoint.

I was in Chicago for a Cubs game. Got in late and had a room at the Warwick hotel downtown. Was looking for someplace within walking distance and O’Toole’s stuck out. The place is a little bit noisy, but that’s to be expected since it’s a sports bar. The classic burger was excellent and they make a killer old-fashioned. The staff was friendly and efficient. My server introduced himself as Skyler. He was really on top of things in spite of the heavy business. He’s the one that recommended the old-fashioned. It was a good choice.

We snagged a high top for a late dinner and enjoyed their southern andouille sausage mac and cheese. Huge portion and flavorful. We were there during NFL Sunday Night Football. The sound was amped up for the game, but likely just our location as a quick look around made it evident that there were more secluded seating areas in this large bar. Nice selection of beers too.

This is the site of a man vs. food challenge- the burger challenge is the Big Timmy. I knew that was out of the question so ordered the Little Timmy. DELICIOUS! And despite being down-sized, it was still huge. With that and the Irish fries that it came with, I was well-fed (actually over-fed LOL). Also had an Irish coffee and a Celtic Cream Coffee. Both tasted very good on a cold December day. There were other things on the menu I will try over time...if I can make myself not order the burger!

It's convenient for business trips because you can easily go alone, and if you want to go alone, they will guide you to a table instead of the counter. It's a sports bar, so it can't be helped that it's noisy. The burger was very delicious, but the French fries were a bit soggy and not so great. I think I'll order the burger next time I go.

Tasty food with good service from the staff. Lively spot at 2am. Pool tables and loads of screens for sports. Would recommend for sports people.

In town for business and met up with a friend and we decided to ditch the upscale restaurant in my hotel and get a burger and beer. O’Toole’s delivered the real American pub experience. Chatting with bar staff and other patrons around the large U shaped bar. Pool tables available with other seating areas. I had a beer and a few pints of local craft brews. All good and fun. Everyone was in good mood as the Bears won... finally.

A Great Spot for Beer and Food in Chicago We visited this establishment shortly after arriving in Chicago from the UK, following a long flight and extended waits at customs. It was the perfect place to unwind. They offer an impressive selection of beers on draft, though be aware that they’re served in the American style (expect less head than what you might be used to in the UK). So impressed by our first visit, we returned the following day to try their burgers and wings. Both were excellent—fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed. The service was consistently attentive and friendly, and the lively, bustling atmosphere you’d expect from a popular sports bar only added to the experience. Overall, a fantastic place to relax, enjoy good food, and take in the energetic Chicago vibe.

Came in here on way back from navy pier. Nice cellar bar with good bar snacks and very friendly staff. Definitely would recommend

Staff was awesome, food was better, environment was even better. Had a bad ass Marine help us and he gave us a generous discount that we didn't expect. Had pulled pork sandwich and some awesome sweet potato fries.

First night in Chicago and we went here just after we'd checked into our hotel. Had a Nachos and Buffalo wings with beer and wine. Really good food and drinks that were well priced.

We stopped in for an appetizer and cocktail. The old fashioned left a little to be desired by these Wisconsinites but the wing both Honey Sriracha and the Bourbon Honey BBQ certainly hit the spot

It is a typical Irish Pub with good variety of beer and whiskey. Offers usualpub food.service is fast and friendly and place was full even around midnight.

We visited during March Madness. The atmosphere was very fun and lively. The waitstaff were polite and attentive. The food was good and reasonably priced. I would definitely visit there again.

This restaurant came highly recommended and I was excited to have lunch here. I arrived at around 2 pm in a Friday and there were several tables open. Because I was by myself, the hostess denied my request to sit at a table and said I had to sit at the bar. I wanted to do some work over lunch so a table was more appropriate, even a high top in the bar was ok, and she still said now. When I said I guess I’ll leave, she then said there was a waiting list I could get on. I didn’t see anyone waiting except to buy a t shirt. Disappointed, I left and went to Potbelly’s next door and it was wonderful. Lesson learned, if you are a bar fly you can go to O’Toole’s pub alone, otherwise be sure to bring a friend.

The staff at the W Lakeshore recommended Timothy O'Toole's for lunch right after we checked in but our room wasn't ready. It was about two blocks down and it was well worth the trip. My wife and I love a good pub and Timothy O'Toole's checks all the boxes. Great welcoming atmosphere. Huge bar area. Huge dining area. Tons of TVs. Great beers on tap. And solid pub food. We liked it so much we actually ate here twice. The first time was on our first day in town, Friday, April 14, and then again on a gross, rainy Sunday where we enjoyed a cold beer or two. I know this is going to sound weird but I enjoy a good Smithwick's and Timothy O'Toole's had the coldest on tap Smithwick's I've ever had. Give this place a try. You won't be disappointed.

We were staying nearby and wanted to grab a quick meal after arriving in Chicago. My wife found Timothy O’Toole’s online. It was 0.2 miles away and the menu looks good, so we went. I expected decent bar food. I was was surprised at how good it was. My 11 year old wants to eat every meal here. The Litttle Timmy w/ Irish Nachos (fries w/ bacon and cheese) was SO good. The 11 YO had the pulled pork and we shared the Mac & Cheese bites. We will probably go a few other places, but I recommend that you make it Timothy O’Toole’s. We will try to make it back, too.

Enjoyed the atmosphere, eclectic menu, everything was good, and had a huge beer list. We would go back!

Spent a great evening here with friends enjoying their super beer/liquor selection. While called an American/Irish pub, this place is also a great place to watch some sport with multiple TV’s available. While we did not eat on this visit, many of the patrons did just that and food looked delicious. Busy, buzzy atmosphere which was well worth the visit

Tasty food and good pint of Guinness. My family was welcomed into this cozy space. I could see this being a very active space when a big sporting event is on TV. Also, home to the American Outlaws! USA!

We were in Chicago for the marathon. We decided to go to the pub because of the good reviews. We were in Chicago for 6 days and went to Timothy O'Toole's Pub 3 times. What can I say, the atmosphere was always great. Good drinks and service staff. On the last evening we had a final meal. I can only recommend Timothy O'Toole's Pub.

We picked this place because it was within walking distance to our hotel. Hubby tried the 2 Chicago Hotdogs & really enjoyed them. They are served completely different than Mn. I had the Fish & Chips. It was excellent! We liked the food & service so well, we went back the next night. Hubby had the Who's Your Daddy Burger & I had the Buffalo Chicken Salad. Again the food was excellent as was the service. Everyone is friendly.

We arrived into downtown Chicago tired and hungry on a Saturday evening. This pub was recommended by our hotel reception and was close by. We had the best ribs ever! Perfect portion size and delicious. Service was great too. We were only in Chicago 3 nights and prefer to try new places usually, but we went back to Timothy O'Toole's for more the second night! Highly recommend.

Oh friendly service from the moment we walked in! The BBQ Wings, Hummus and bread, Nachos are just the best!! Awesome Atmosphere, relaxed and cruizy and spoilt for choice with sports on the screen. Thanks Timothy's we visited 2 nights in a row of our 3 night Chicago stay :)

Really attentive and fun service. The food is pedestrian as is the entire experience. Nothing really Irish about this place. The nachos serve about 8 people even though it's listed as an app.

Staff were great. The food was not so. Have been in here a few years ago and it was brilliant, but last Easter not so much so

Was in town for 3 days. My driver from the airport suggested this place. I ended up going 2 nights in a row. Fantastic beer selection. The chicken wings are incredible and I lived in Buffalo for 10 years. I mean incredible! The hamburger was also impressive. Will definitely be back on my next visit.

Typical bar food sports atmosphere. People from different teams watching games at the same time on many wide screen, TVs and large beer, selection and bar food selection.

Great food ,drink, staff, would highly recommend this pub staff very friendly attentive .Pub was very clean great selection of beers ,food .

My husband and I were staying in the area for one night and needed a place to eat. Timothy O’Tooles was nearby. I had a burger with garlic cheese and carmelized onions. It was one of the best burgers I ever had, and I am picky about my burgers. My husband had a corned beef sandwich which had a lot of meat on it. The fries were good also. We went on a Wednesday night. The place was busy but the service was fast and good.

Good pub food and fair prices. The service is friendly once you get past the dour looking 'id checker' at the entry. Must be a busy night since they seemed understaffed with long wait for service. Be aware, the tables are close to each other, so not ideal for business dinners.

very enjoyable cozy and comfortable establishment. Extensive craft and premium beers and a well stocked bar of terrific spirits. Food options are plenty and beyond the norm of bar/pub food. The fish and chips are very good as are the burgers. The bread pudding is huge and could serve 4, but more important is the taste, fantastic. Plenty of televisions for your viewing pleasure and open late for dinning as well. Excellent service.

Great find and location. Head down some steps and it's like a hidden gem! We were staying near by and wanted a simple dinner. The food was tasty and service fantastic.

This is my wife's and my "regular bar". If we want drinks or a night snack, Timothy is the place to go. Large variety of drinks, great food and music - and if you're a sports fan, there are TVs in almost every angle of view with different games played live. The boneless wings and nachos are not to miss! Will be back here again soon! Thanks to the awesome staff!

It was late. The place was jumpin. Not a boring american overpriced sports bar like I expected. Music. The food was good. Drinks were strong. Our server was busy but kept up with the pace. Definitely a vibe. Everytime I go to Chicago I try to go somewhere new but this place made me want to come again for sure. Oh and the value was as expected for a downtown chicago bar.

We like to try somewhere new most nights on our vacation but we kept going back to this place every night during our 3 nights stay, now that says something about this place. The atmosphere, the food and the wonderful staff make this place a great night out. We noticed that staff from the local hospital were using this place after their shift and that says to me that when the locals are using it then it must be good. The food was amazing and served probably the best Wings in Chicago.

Decent prices. Solid pub grub. Forget the whole publicity bit about man versus food, if you want pub grub and are in the city this is a great deal. Nice selection of rotating taps. Watch out for the stairs though!

We were staying nearby and we went for lunch and dinner during our stay. At lunch, it had a nice salad selection and the place seemed vast and mostly empty. However, later when we came back for dinner on a Friday night (~10pm), this place was standing room only. Somehow, the staff managed to do a great job getting a large group fed and "watered' appropriately. Great selection of beers too.

We needed an alcoholic beverage and a snack before setting out to explore. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was even better. We ordered wings and pretzel bites and drinks. Everything was great and I am really glad the concierge at our hotel recommended this place! Would definitely visit again!

Just a great little sport bar around the corner from my hotel . Fun atmosphere and the wings were great. Nice and crispy . Great service too .

You don’t know what to expect from the outside but it’s a great atmosphere and service is outstanding! The food was phenomenal and the portion sizes are generous. Loved the pretzel appetizer! Would recommend. Worth the trip.

Thank to untappd app, I saw this location had bourbon county vanilla on tap and decided to patronize it after dinner on a Friday night. As we walked in, they asked 'food or bar', said bar and the pseudo bouncer told us if the front bar was too crowded, fell free to move to back bar. Walked up to front bar..packed. Went to back bar, practically empty, but far fewer taps and didn't have the BC vanilla on tap. Went back to front bar, got my two beers (>$30!!, but it's expensive, and in a big city, so...whatever). Take them to the back bar have a seat, ask the bartender about changing a TV to a different baseball game and she tells me I can't sit there if I don't order beer from her. Has to keep her seats open (out of ~10 seats, 2 were taken). I apologize and say 'thought this was all the same establishment' she says yes, but has to keep seats open for her patrons. Wife figures she just wants tips, offers to tip her and she says 'no no - gotta keep seats open'. So we walk back to front, still no seats, and plop down against a wall by the pool tables (which sucked). Bartender who served me the beers sees me from bar, asks how I like the beers, told him they were great, but really sucks there's nowhere to sit and the lady from the back kicked us out. If I'm dropping $30 on two beers, be nice to be allowed to sit somewhere. He says "oh - they closing down back there?" (alluding to how unbusy they are). I said - "no she told me I couldn't sit there if I didn't buy from her". He gives me a wink, say's he'll take care of it. 3 minutes later, he flags me down, he's got two seats at his bar, turns the tv to the ballgame I wanted and all was well. Hung out for 4 innings, bought another beer, and life was better. back bartender needs to learn a little better customer service. It's all one establishment. You be nice to the patron, chat them up, hope they're having a good time and will order something else from you. Especially if you've got ample seating. I could've understood if we took the last two seats there, but clearly not the case. kudos to main bartender for remedying situation.

Usually I don’t eat bar food (greasy and deep fried), so I was pleasantly surprised to see an alternative - Rice Bowls with a variety of protein add ons listed on the menu. I had the Burrito Bowl with chicken. It was tasty!

Waitress was inattentive, bar was not overly busy when I came. Our section had only a few tables of people. Some guy that worked there took my souvenir glass I just purchased and threw it out.

This is cool place, the staff is friendly, you will wait awhile for your order and no matter how you want your burger cooked, it will arrive medium-well.

Great spot for a night cap. Convenient location for many hotels along Michigan Avenue. Multiple beer selection along with full bar. We returned multiple times. Highly recommend.

We ate here twice and it was just super good! It really is one of the few ways in Chicago to dine well and reasonably cheaply! In addition, I saw the most vegetarian options on the menu here! The staff is great and the whole ambience relaxed and cool. I recommend a freshly tapped Begyle! I love meeting Irish hospitality wherever in the world!

We visited O'Tooles several times during our 6 day trip to Chicago. Food was good and good selection of beers. Good service especially on game day Sunday when we could watch the game we wanted on one of the screens.

A large popular Irish pub/ restaurant located downstairs in the basement Bar is circular and the staff are friendly and attentive. The Guinness is good as well so no complaints at there. Didn’t eat but the menu is pretty comprehensive. Will return.

We were out on a sort of Chicago bar crawl and this was the last place we stopped....we went down the stairs and there was a line to get in so we waited. We were finally sat at a tall top table and it was super busy so after about 10 or so minutes we asked a manager if there was a table server............he took out an order pad and said I guess it's me !!!! We all laughed he took our order and got our drinks right away, we also ordered the deep fried pickles which were AMAZING so delicious, they had some sort of spice on the batter that made them so so so good !!! That was all we had for food but everything that passed us by looked so good, we were told their chicken wings are the best. After awhile the server who was in our section came over and got our second drink order his name was Aquell and he was nice and apologetic when he came over as the longer we sat there the more busy the place became, there were at least 3 wedding parties that came in while we sat there and it was also gay pride weekend so by the time we left the place was slammed and there was standing room only as well as still a long line at the door but we were told they are open till 4 a.m. A must try if in the area we would love to go back for dinner

We are a big Irish/English family from the UK, and we needed to see an important soccer match whilst staying in Chicago. We found this place… it’s a gem! … fabulously friendly service, and great food. Screens everywhere, which staff are happy to tune to whichever sports channel you want to see, and there was no issue with the cheering when the England womens soccer team beat Germany in the final of the Euros tournament! Thanks guys for a great time, we’ll be back!

Ate here twice during a brief stay. Lunch was great - wide choice, good service. Back for dinner - queueing to get in - very popular. Sport on tv, large bar, larger than life atomosphere but not for the faint-hearted!! People watching was great.

Cozy and relaxed with really good bar food. Wonderful service. Could see this becoming our neighborhood bar if lived in Chicag

I went with a group of six to lunch on a Saturday. I ordered the Bayou Mac & Cheese IPA Chicken, Andouille Sausage, Mushrooms, Peas, Four Cheese & Garlic Crostini $16 It was fantastic! I love macaroni and cheese. This was full of gooey cheese...not dry at all. the chicken, sausage, mushrooms, and peas were in perfect proportion. I ate it all and was still full 6 hours later. It was an excellent entree.

We had a group of about 10 people from a trade show. The atmosphere is nice, with big bar, pool tables, lots of space to hang out. We saw a sign for a team trivia night that happened at 8pm, one of our party was dying to do it, but we stuck together. There are screen everywhere so no problem to keep up with whatever game you're interested in. I was amused by the menu, with the Man Vs Food large burger on display. I had the Who's Your Daddy burger, which was delicious, the fries not so much, they seemed to be regular frozen from the pack. One of our party ordered the tandoori which I was surprised to even see on a Irish Pub menu, but he said that through his trips in the UK, many people who own or run Irish Pubs can be from India and hence good Indian fare can crop up on the menu. I would have been interested in getting a t-shirt, but I didn't see them displayed. I saw t-shirt mentioned with the Man Vs. Food burger. All in all, a comfortable friendly Irish Pub.

Great food, great selection of beer, great service and no shortage of TV’s to watch sports. Absolutely love this place, can’t fault it.

Go an Irish pub, most of the Irish whiskeys were out of stock. A “neat” pour was twice the cost. Surprise! We had to move twice due to leaking condensation from venting. Server was pleasant.

On our recent visit to Chicago, After a trek across the city in the freezing cold, we came across Timothy O'Toole's bar. Looks can be very deceiving, from the outside it looks like a tiny tavern on the corner, but when you enter there's stairs leading downstairs to the bar. Great looking bar with plenty of lager's and ale's on tap. The service was friendly and efficient, my wife and I, had a couple of drinks each, which were reasonably priced. The food menu also looked good but we only had time for drinks before going back out into the freezing cold... overall our experience was great, one of the many great bars in Chicago.. Well worth a visit

In our quest to find the best sports bars in Chicago, my wife and I visited Timothy O'Toole's Pub at 622 North Fairbanks Court in the Streeterville neighborhood. Ranked among the top 10 sports bars in Chicago, it has 72 HD TVs, 48 beers on tap, billiards and a large menu of bar food. O'Toole's, which opened in 1992, is so popular that it has opened other locations in Gurnee, Lake Villa and Libertyville. Open from noon to 2 a.m. Wednesday through Sunday and 3 to 1 a.m. on Monday and Tuesday, it overwhelms patrons with soups, wings, nachos, tacos, burgers, seafood, desserts, such entrees as fish and chips and home-made meatloaf and baskets of jumbo shrimp, chicken fingers and fried cod. The signature item is The Big Timmy Challenge, which amounts to two half-pound burger patties, four cheeses (cheddar, jalapeno jack, mozzarella and Swiss), bacon, onion straws, lettuce, tomato, pickle, red onion and BBQ sauce. It is served with a giant pile of fries and onion rings. If you finish in one sitting, you are rewarded with a free t-shirt. Not up to the challenge, I settled for an O'Toole's Original, a burger with a half-pound patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle. With a plate of O'Toole's famous wings and a bowl of O'Toole's famous chili. Meanwhile, my wife was delighted with fish and chips, beer battered cod with cole slaw, tartar sauce and fries. For dessert, we shared a Brownie Overload, almond brownies with vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and caramel sauce.

We had 12 people go and every single person said the food was amazing! The staff was just awesome! I highly recommend this place!

Fun sports bar and lovely servers. It’s a bit loud but of course that expected in a game day. The guacamole is absolutely fantastic.

Love the vibe in this place / always fun and welcoming. Great place to pre-game, post-game or watch the game - or just hang out

Finished up site seeing and decided to have a couple drinks before heading back to the hotel. This spot was a great choice for happy hour!

This bar was only a few steps away from our hotel, so we spent almost every night here after leaving our wives in the hotel LOL. A great place to have a beer or drink. Staff was always helpful and nice. They close late, I think 3am so its a great place to be.

The Mr. and I ordered food to go. Order was placed online without issue. Order was ready a few moments after our arrival for pick up. We had everything needed to enjoy our meal. The Mr. ordered the French dip with tater tots. Although decent, he felt he’s had better. The meat was a bit chewy and au jus was bland. I ordered garlic Parmesan wings and loaded baked potato soup. The wings were crispy with great flavor, plenty of garlic. My soup was excellent. I would easily order both items again. We would not hesitate to eat here again.

perfect pub, outstanding burger..really great many TV's to watch football, a large beer menu I only have one thing to criticize, the girl that serves the food, rarely seen someone who works so unfriendly and listlessly

had our dinner here, the environment is a must see,..food was delicious!,..friendly people and workers!

We were a party of 9 visiting on a Saturday night, and were seated in less than 10 minutes. I ordered the fish and chips which were delicious! Everyone in our party were satisfied with their meal. Will definitely return when in Chicago !

My husband and I live in the neighborhood and have come here often. Recently they changed the menu and have removed some of the best items (tater tots with pulled pork and melted cheese) They typically have good daily drink specials. Always and interesting crowd. Can get quite loud, especially during Bears & Blackhawks seasons. All in all, descent bar food and good drinks.

Came for a late supper on a busy Friday night and waitress was very attentive, food was good and fast! Awesome atmosphere!

Food was excellent appetizer and meals. Services was poor. Ordered amaretto sour and not sure what I got but it was not that. I drank it and never complained. I then asked for a diet coke that I waited forever for. I had no drink for my entire meal and 10 minutes after I was done. I asked many times. Maybe he was new not sure but needs improvement.

Our waitress was very nice and we ended up visiting twice while in Chicago. Plenty of TV’s to watch sporting events. Highly recommend this bar.

We visited this place today. Great busy pub with friendly staff and reasonably priced for being city centre.

This review is mixed. I give a 5 rating for the ability to handle a huge crowd visiting at lunch time to watch the Champions League Final. There were only a few staff but they were extremely efficient and served us all well. Really well done !!! Food was good pub food with huge portions - especially the nachos !!! So 4 for the food.

Fantastic pub. Great staff and friendly fun atmosphere. This is a really great bar. Looked typical US bar and the food was exvellent.

I don't know where to start. As an Irish man who loves a good pub, this is anything but. It is impersonal, plastic, overpriced and the food is average at best. In short, it is terrible. The service is functional and whilst I understand that you're sitting in an establishment a stones throw from Michigan Avenue, $8.46 for a draft beer including tax, is pricy.

I have been to Timothy O'toole's a few times, and every time has been worse than the first. Whether it's having my food order done wrong, not receiving the discount that I am offered when I sit at the table or just having a rude waiter and waitress, Timothy O'toole's never ceases to disappoint me. This time took the Cake. Before I even entered the Pub, I told my sister that I wanted to go to Pizzeria Dues, Jake Melnick's or Plymouth Rooftop Bar and grill, Because I have built great relationships with the staff and two of them offer an industry discount. I told her how much I do not like going to O'Tool's because of awful service. She drove and didn't want to walk or take a Lyft anywhere else so I gave in. When we walked in our hands were stamped and we were seated. Our waiter was Tim M. Before I ordered, I asked him about the industry discount and he stated that it is 50% off drinks and 10% off of food. I made sure to ask him if shots were a part of the deal and he said yes. The specials were not a part of the deal. I only ordered appetizers because I was afraid that somehow my order would be messed up. The food was fine and I ordered 5 shots of strait don Julio with lime. When the bill came I had been charged for 6 shots of Don Julio, I made sure to count out the shots as I received them. The problem was Tim M did not properly explain the bill to us. He began to get rude and told me that he could take the discount away. I told him that it would be fine but I would have went elsewhere if I had of known that. I immediately asked to speak with his manager. I was so upset by the way Tim thought it was okay to speak to me. A bald white male approached the table. I began to explain the situation to him but he did not care. He told me "well he's right he did not have to give you the discount." Then he went into the menu and misspoke about the prices. Shortly after he apologized for making the mistake. After going over the bill I noticed that I did receive the discount on the Don Julio, but I was charged for 6 instead of 5. Tim had Misspoken earlier and said that he was only going to discount patron. I never had any shots of Patron and he told me that the Don Julio would be discounted. There is a mixed drink special in the menu with Don Julio, but I had plain shots of Don Julio which was not a part of an already discounted special. That is where the confusion came. Instead of the manager apologizing for the mistakes and miscommunication on Tim's part he began to provoke me. I told him that we just wanted to pay and he chose to argue. My sister ended up paying for the entire order because I never wanted to come there in the first place. I am a concierge who has sent a lot people to this pub. I will never in good faith recommend this bar or spend my hard earned money here.

We went here because it was right by our hotel and actually was recommended by the hotel clerk. We were looking for a place with good food and good drinks. We went here and were optimistic because it was so busy. We both ordered margaritas and wings/fries. Waitress recommended the smoky flavored margarita. Big mistake…don’t do it. It doesn’t take like any margarita you’ve ever had before. The only thing making me give this place 3 stars is the wings were absolute perfection! Service was good, food was great but I recommend going somewhere else for drinks.

Cheaper drinks during happy hour, great service and nice food. It was a good place to chill with our cases before we left to go to the airport. 5*

We were sucked in by the signage that lead us to believe they were a host site for the American Outlaws! It’s WWC time and the USWNT is looking amazing! We didn’t go there to watch a game as it was a time between games, but wanted to see it anyway. The beer selection was one of the best we’d seen during our whole trip to Chicago! The menu had a wide range of options that included not just your typical collection of bar food staples. The portions were great as well. The wait staff was attentive and the atmosphere was nice for our family. We’d love to be there on a game day!

The best way to celebrate St. Patty’s day! This place is the ultimate place for Patrick’s Day! Great food! Great drinks! Outstanding service

I have been frequenting this establishment for probably about 20 years, and have loved it since day 1. Excellent for game watching, private parties, beverage selection, and just all around atmosphere. The food is exceptional too.

Excellent food and service. Bridget was very polite and attentive. The Fish and Chips were excellent. Nice portion of fish and battered and cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend.

The pace is “lively” (loud) and the burgers are legendary. Lots of brew and beverage choices and lots of tv’s in place to catch any games that are on. Worth a try when in town.

The first thing I noticed about this place was the strange smell. I guess I got used to it after awhile but initially it was off-putting. I thought it was an Irish bar but the menu is a quite well-rounded mix of trendy foods. I had the tacos and they were very good. No food complaints from my party of 6 people. Remember, it's a sports bar so it is very loud. It's also in the basement.

We renewed our acquaintance with pub life after a recommendation from our hotel. The loud music, noisy TV screens (there are 72 of them all around the walls), pool tables and young people should have served as a warning but we thought we should give it a go. After dodging cues and people playing pool, we were shown our table. The waitress was friendly but managed to get us a bottle of white wine when we had ordered red. At the end of dinner, we found that our bill included 4 items from the people before us. Altogether an experience we would not choose to repeat.

Next to our hotel so we gave it a try. Glad we did. Popular spot for the local crowd. Lots of TVs for sports. Lots of beer on tap. Friendly waitstaff. Haddock and wings were really good. Average prices for the city. We would come back again.

I tried the Little Timmy burger and it did not disappoint. Packed with layers of flavor surrounding a 1/2 lb patty. The fries were crispy and crunchy. My wife tried the fish n chips. Large pieces of fish and delicious coleslaw. Our server took our order and we didn’t see her again until she showed up well past us being finished with our meal. She didn’t offer refills, you had to ask for those. We think she was distracted because serving us was not a priority. I’d go back for the food.

Was in search of a good bar with a large group. Walked around and checked out 4 bars in walking distance to our hotel. 3 had limited ambiance and closed early. This bar was just what we needed. Fast service and good pours.

Great atmosphere, fantastic waitresses and food was superb. Came highly recommended from locals as a place to relax and watch football game.

Timothy O’Tooles has amazing food and they serve until 2:00am! Perfect for grabbing something to eat after the game. Love the vibe and our server was awesome! We loved it so much, we went back the next day for lunch!

This was one of the best pubs in Chicago. We walked in before going to a bulls game and had no waiting. The waitress was very nice and being not from Chicago she recommended some beers for us to try. Food was fast and delicious. Will be back if we come in area again.

We were in chicago for the marathon We went to this bar several times when last in chicago 6 years ago. The place is exactly the same now as it was. Great place. Great staff. Exceptional food and large selection of beers on tap.. We eat here 3 times in the 5 days we were there. Cant wait to return.

We have been here twice so far. Each time with friends. The service is swift and efficient. Our first visit was drinks and food (for 2 of the group). Our second was just drinks. On both occasions the bar was not hugely busy. They may have been less accommodating had they been full but we were left in peace beside regular "can I get you anything?" visits. An "Irish bar" in the US is nit an Irish bar. It is a halfway house between an Irish/British pub and an American bar. A happy medium. Food was good. Service good. I only had water in each occasion so can only go by comments from others but they were positive. One friend had "Holy Water". I think it had four different t spirits in it !! Health warning required methinks. Will we return ? Who knows but I will be perfectly happy if we do.

This is a fun bar with friendly staff. Justine is a very efficient bar person. There are many TV’s & the staff is very amenable to putting on your favorite game. This is our favorite place in Chicago to watch games. And the food is good too 😀

A wonderful armosphere, 70 plus TV's showing every sport imaginable, An extensive range of craft beers & large potions - especially on the Nachos.

TVs everywhere! Food is good but not great... but you're not going for the food. I had the baby back ribs and they were good..

Good food, reasonable prices. Decent pint, Guinness and harp. I haven't taken to local beers at all. Great sports bar. Service was really good. Thanks megan

Beer was fantastic - amazing NE hazy IPA - and the boneless wings were also good. I really enjoyed the fresh onion soup too. My huge disappointment were the fish and chips. Maybe the worst fish I’ve ever had. It was dry, almost like it had been reheated. Batter wasn’t crispy and the fish was mainly dry inside, no fluffy white fish. Will go back for the beer and bar food (wings etc) but not for a meal.

We stopped in to watch Monday Night Football. We had wonderful customer service. Great drinks, fantastic food and the TV's were excellent to watch football!

We went in right around 5:15 p.m. on a Wednesday night and the place was starting to fill up. We can understand why! The service was great and the food was hot and delicious with good portions. We both had fish and chips with coleslaw and it was delicious. Our server was very attentive even though the place was busy.

Was in Chicago for tradeshow and the boss wanted everyone to meet here for drinks and food. What a fun place! Lots of people, very fun atmosphere and very good food. Will definitely be back next time I'm in Chicago.
Open Late, good food and was able to watch some football.
I was in Chicago for a quick trip, and was able to watch a College Football Bowl Game while my wife was out shopping. Place was open late, friendly staff, good selection of beer and food.
