Took the wife here last weekend. 30 min wait not too bad. The service and the food was excellent. I had some fish appetizer a bowl of Tom Yum soup and curry chicken. Flavors were marvelous. Best yellow curry I've ever tasted. The soup was very pleasant to the pallet. Will def be back again

This place is out of the way, out on North Lamar, but it is definitely worth finding. I doesn't look like much from the street, but inside it is nice and clean and well-organized. The menu has many choices and the food is excellent--delicious. We had different items but everything was great. Service was also very good. Seems like it might be family owned--very friendly. I would definitely recommend Titaya for Thai food in Austin. We will definitely return!

Tataya's has the freshest food, cleanest environment, and fastest/friendliest service - of any Thai restaurant in ATX - bar none! The value/portions are exemplary. One of our favorite restaurants in town ...

I am hesitant to write this review, because I have been going to Titaya's for the past five years and I am dismayed at the length of time I now have to wait to get a table during lunch. Yes there are comparable or better Thai places in town, but Titaya's doesn't charge an enormous amount for their really good Thai food. I can't say I have ever had anything bad at Titaya's, but my favorites are: Pad Thai/ Vermicelli Lover I would recommend for novices Thai/Basil Fried Rice Incredible soups, like Thom Ka, coconut soup My favorite: Pad Kra Prao, ask for 3 or 4 chiles if you are brave. Don't over look their deserts, their Mango Mousse is incredible. So, yeah if you are from California or the west coast and are a recent Austinite, please continue to go to your overpriced Thai restaurants in town, and leave this place alone.

My husband and I were in Austin on business and decided to have dinner in town, on our way to another restaurant I got lost and ended up here. Lucky me!! The place was nicely decorated, bathrooms clean and by the looks of it it's a local fav. Tom yum soup was so refreshing and exactly what I needed, we also had Pad Thai it was delicious! Server was very attentive and prices were fantastic! Will absolutely visit again when in Austin.

Waited many months for them to open after the re-model. Very disappointing! Their goal may have been "trendy" but ended up very loud (no ceiling) and uncomfortable (only hard wooden chairs) with the comfortable benches replaced with small tables squeezed in together making for a very cramped space. Everybody out-shouting each other to be heard. Enter...the misbehaving toddler...and now you don't order dessert because you just want to leave. Of course, I could hear everybody's order and Titaya's does not accommodate or change the food in any way. Seems instead of being fresh, every dish is pre-packaged. My chicken laab was way too hot and not at all refreshing (as it claims on the menu). What lettuce was there was very old. Too bad, used to be one of the area's best Thai restaurants.

Overall great experience. Went for dinner, it was crowded and a never-ending stream of customers waiting at the door. I had Pad Thai it was excellent. Soups were all good. Wife had Panyang Curry, one of the best we had. Green Curry was great, good use of different vegetables. Broccoli Beef was delicious as well. We eat Thai all the time and have a few favorites in Tampa, our travels have not revealed many good Thai elsewhere but this is an exception, ranks very high on our list.

We had a party of five for dinner and they added a 20% tip to the bill. No big deal on adding gratuity to our party because food and service was good. However, when presented with the handheld device for credit card payment, all of the standard tip percentage amounts displayed for approval and our server did not ever mention that gratuity was already included in our bill. Full disclosure of gratuity should be a common courtesy. Beware of double dipping!

This place is our favorite Thai restaurant in Austin. We have tried many Thai restaurants and this one stand above the rest. The Service is wonderful and food is fresh and authentic. I enjoyed the Tom yum soup and Chicken Pad Thai. The menu is huge so you can go to this place and try as many Thai dishes as your heart desires without getting bored.

Awesome: Tom Yum soup and Pineapple Fried Rice Too spicy: Jungle curry Overall really good food.

Had a pleasant lunch at Titaya's recently. Overall, the food is good, but it's not 100% homemade and we suspect it contained MSG. Specific dishes: 1. Tom Kha soup- good flavor but a little watery 2. Pork Garlic Mixed Peppercorn- very tasty pork dish. The menu describes it as “Seasoned sliced pork loin sautéed with garlic, mixed ground peppercorn and sweet soy. Cucumber mixed green.” But our dish didn’t come with any cucumbers, just some greens. 3. Pad Plick Khing- tasty but salty; the red curry was not intense. After asking about their curry paste, we found out that Titaya starts with an off-the-shelf canned curry paste and modifies it. We prefer homemade curry and could definitely tell the difference between canned and truly homemade from scratch. Also, I suspect the curry contained MSG (had an instant reaction to it and headache later). Service was good. Nice Ambiance. Elegant compared to the average strip mall Thai restaurant. Overall cleanliness: above average Bathroom cleanliness: average

The Kao Soi 360 here is amazing and definitely the way to go. Definitely a weekly visit on my schedule.

We loved our first-time visit! We started with the rice balls that were out of this world and the pork soup that brought tears to our eyes (in a good way). Tofu red curry was delicious as was the Pad Kee Mao, but the delicious sirloin yum was out favorite. The place was crowded with about a 20 minute wait, but the service was speedy and friendly. We loved it...

Went with 7 people to Titaya's. We order 10 different things and they were all good. We had kids and adults and everyone was happy. If your on the north side of Austin it is surely worth a visit, we even had to wait a little on a Sunday night so this place is no secret!

Titaya ' s hits the spot when craving Thai food. Perfect lunch spot ... lunch specials & quick service & parking. The Thai ice cream and stick rice with mango desserts are lovely finishes after a spicy and flavorful meal.

Fresh and delicious food. Great menu, easy to read, unlike some Thai restaurants. Service was very attentive.

Very tasty Thai food and nice service. The only problem I have is deciding which delicious dish to get. For those who like REALLY hot food, the Jungle Curry is excellent: not only delicious, it seems to have an effect on headcolds and seasonal allergies. Not hungry for a full meal? I recommend popping in for appetizers and some relaxing blue lotus tea. The crowd is typically interesting and eclectic, adding to the appeal.

This is excellent Thai food by any standards. Nice staff, friendly greeting on arrival. Nice bar to wait if necessary. It was Saturday lunch time and no wait thank goodness as I can't stand waiting to eat at a restaurant. My friend, who also came, said it has a reputation for long waits in busy periods and he has been a bunch of times and loves the restaurant. I guess the waits means that people like the place which is a good sign, but he said to avoid early evening after work if you don't want to wait. I cannot vouch for that, but I guess it is true. Icecream to finish was great - home made too. The only thing negative is that the waitress took my only 1/3 finished food away when I finished eating, and before I realized it was gone and I could ask for the $7 worth of food to be boxed it was in the trash already. A little too efficient for my liking thank you, and I told her so. Anyway, she was young, a really nice person, and a good waitress apart from that. Having "educated" her on the need to positively ascertain if a customer actually wants what they have paid for put in the trash, I gave her a good tip. Poor kid won't do that again - she must think I am a tetchy old guy. But it was annoying, but just the kind of thing my daughter might have done, if you get my drift. So be warned - if you want it boxed make it very clear. And if you don't eat everything, you will for sure want it boxed to take home as it is so good. That was the annoying part - it was so tasty and I only ate 1/3! I am salivating right now! Oh, and they don't take Amex for some reason - extra commission I guess, but that will drive away business customers with big expense accounts is my thinking. And there is no wifi. The latter seems bizarre in Austin, TX. I hope the owner reads this and fixes it because when I have a report to write I will have to go elsewhere rather than going there and eating and writing. Maybe they don't want that kind of customer come to think of it, as this is a really nice place for couples to go for a date. So, maybe smart on their part - but not everyone goes out to eat only for a cosy hot date. Give this place a try. You will like it for sure. Sawasdee Kap!!

Could not find the place--the sign was inconspicous and in Thai! Got into accident looking for this place! Food was good --we went for lunch-- soup was ok --ma gow(sp?) had coconut milk,lemongrass,chicken-chicken was dry --had green curry with eggplant, chicken, coconut milk,Serrano chili- decent heat and taste

This restaurant has always had a reputation of being the best Thai place to visit in Austin. They also have a reputation of being the busiest restaurant during both peak lunch and dinner hours. We ordered the succulent chicken skewer with peanut sauce for appetizer and green curry with fried tofu and house specialty noodle. At a busy night we were able to get seating almost immediately. We were greeted by a professional and very courteous waitress. Even at such busy night, our food arrived within 5 minutes which its a pleasant surprise. The green curry was sweet and spicy and the fried tofu compliments the dish perfectly. The house specialty noodle comes with a fantastic slowed cooked beef that us both tender and flavorful. Overall we always have a great experience eating here. If you want good Thai food in Austin you must say this place a visit.

Very disappointed. We ordered my favorite Thai dish, Pad Thai. Loaded with an artificial sweetness, but why? 2nd dish, yellow curry veggies. Sweet as well. Why? Said curry powder. I cook with curry, never sweet. Will never go bac and will let everyone know

Did not have to wait to be seated. The service was great and the waitress was very nice and helpful. The food was delicious; it was very flavorful and large portions for a great price. Would definitely come again.

Living in San Antonio for the past year has been really hard on my palate. Nothing wrong with the town (it is not a city) it is clean and family friendly. But the food, just abysmal in my opinion--especially when it comes to ethnic foods. My family and I have to travel to Austin and Houston just to eat and plan weekend trips to escape the Americanized Asian food and chain/fast food restaurants that are the norm in San Antonio. This weekend, it was a short trip to Austin. Our first stop was Titaya's for lunch. It is not easy to find, even with the GPS we drove right past the 1st time and thought the restaurant must have closed. Luckily for us, it was still there, just hidden in plain sight. Due to the terrible rainy weather, we arrived late and could not eat much without jeopardizing our appetite for dinner--so we just ordered a few simple dishes. As an aside, while not a Thai food expert, I have visited Thailand over 40 times over the past 20 years on business and always eat the authentic local food, even visited the Michelin 1 star restaurant in Bangkok--so I do know what the food should taste like. We arrived around 2:15 and the restaurant was still crowded and there were many people waiting for a table--always a good sign! The only negative I can write is that the staff was terribly slow cleaning up the tables to seat new customers-and this made the wait longer than necessary. Once seated, service was quick, efficient and the kitchen was pretty fast as well. We ordered fish cakes, portion size was on the small side--but they were fresh and tasty. We ordered soup noodles, since it was cold and rainy outside--this is more Thai-Chinese than pure Thai, but there is a large Chinese community in Bangkok and it is a common dish. It was very favorable--the meat was a combination of meat balls and soft tendon meat. We also had red curry with chicken and some spicy fried rice--just simple food but everything was very authentic and very favorable. Spiciness was less than what you would get in Bangkok, so next time--will mention that they should not moderate the spices for American palates. Nothing much else to say--if you are craving real Thai food in Austin, you will not be disappointed here.

We were greeted by the wonderful smell when we got out of our car in the parking lot. There were people waiting to get in so we figured we were in for a long wait. We got a table very quickly. The spring roll appetizer came with one of the best peanut sauces were have ever experienced. My wife ordered the Vermicelli Love and I Hor Mok Talay, a very generous portion of seafood cooked in tin foil with basil and red curry sauce. We both absolutely loved our entrees. The coconut ice cream that my wife had for dessert was exceptional. The service was very attentive. It took a bit of extra time for the entrees, but the restaurant was packed. The atmosphere was enhanced by every table being occupied with people obviously enjoying their food. It was crowded, but not so noisy that you could not carry on a conversation with someone at the same table. For the quantity and quality of food that was served, for the above with two Perriers and one beer, it was $40.00 including tax. In our mind that was very reasonable. If we lived in Austin, we would be regulars.

We had some great food - awesome spinach dumplings. Had a beef curry with coconut milk and rice that was hardy and tasty For dessert, we had mango sticky rice which was awesome; my wife had coco I've cream which was good One comment - hot means hot so watch the spice level

From the bad reviews and it's location, we were worried. One step inside changed everything. Very cool atmosphere, and we were seated quickly for a Saturday night (about 7pm). Our waitress had a thick accent, but was on top of every thing! She gave us her personal recommendations on each section, and I'm glad we listened! We ordered: -Leafy Roll: shrimp -C3 Gang Garee: chicken (yellow curry) -C5 Gang Musmun: chicken -N2 Pad See Eiw Our meals were large enough to split, so I recommend ordering family/buffet style for the table. *We are taking my grandparents as soon as they visit! Can't wait!*

If you’re looking for good Thai food COME HERE!! Absolutely exquisite food- from presentation to taste you cannot go wrong . My sister had the pad Thai, my mom had the gang garee, and I had pad see eiw. Our bowls were almost completely empty, absolutely taken back how delicious our meal was. I am from North Carolina and every time I come to Austin I will insist on coming here for the best Thai meal I will ever have!!

We had some starters, a big bowl of soup for the table, the pineapple rice - all the dishes tasted very authentic. We had pots of green tea (it was freezing outside) and a lovely meal overall.

We were fortunate to dine here last week. The food was beautifully presented and tasted great. Very nice atmosphere and attentive staff. We look forward to going back.

We had a good time at Titaya's for lunch. The staff is very sweet and the food came quickly. The pad thai was very good and so was my friend's fried rice. Would definitely go here again.

All around one of the best Thai places I've found so far in town. I might have to take a star off if they get a liquor license and stop the BYOB.

We tried this place because of reviews on tripadvisor. We arrived early on a Friday night and did not have to wait, but the place filles up fast! The waitress was friendly and helpful with suggestions. The curry was tasty, spicy and HUGE portions. Singha Thai beer was crisp and refreshing! You must try the Banana roll with coconut ice cream!!! Amazing ! I will definitely be back!

A few days ago, my wife and I went for an early dinner to Titaya and had a great time. Getting there early, we avoided dealing with the long frustrating wait that happens b/c more and more people know this place has great food. Titaya attracts a younger UT crowd who is after quality food at a good price. It is actually a fun place to people watch. Our waitress was polite, happy and delightful. We ordered the spinach dumplings and Tom Ka chicken soup to start. The Tom Ka is very flavorful and tangy. It contained mushrooms and tasty chicken, but the creamy tangy soup broth is the real star of the dish. For entrees, we ordered Pad Na shrimp noodles and Chu Chee fish. The Pad Na is fiery, so be prepared for the heat! We enjoyed it. The Chu Chee fish is fried and comes with a semi thick sweetish sauce. Very nice! Titaya has an extensive menu, and I look forward to trying everything over time.

We took a short trip to Austin this weekend and after some research, we settled on trying this restaurant. We got there early and there was a line forming outside the door and for a minute we were concerned that maybe there would be a rush. We got there in the evening so they opened at 5:00. Very nice decor and our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. I ordered the Hed Ping as an appetizer, and both my husband and I ordered green curry. He with chicken and mine with tofu. The Hed Ping is lightly breaded mushroom deep fried with a spicy dipping sauce. It was so good, I burned the roof of my mouth (I should be embarrassed to admit it, but I'm not, that's how good it was). The curry was also delicious. My husband totally enjoyed his as well. We had a wonderful meal and then I ordered the red curry with tofu as a takeaway, since I don't have a thai restaurant at home, I wanted to savor it some more. The red curry was as delicious as the green. Our waitress was very nice to give me extra rice and didn't charge us for it. Finally, compared to many of the other Thai restaurants that we have visited around Texas, the prices are very affordable. It was a wonderful visit and they can be sure, when next we are in Austin, we will be eating here!!! Simply delicious.

We love getting out away from the trendy areas, and heard that this was a great place for Thai food. So, off we went, past many places we already knew about, past the razzle-dazzle, and over to Titaya's. The food was excellent. I had the Hor Mok Talay, which was excellent and a big food adventure, like unwrapping a delicious present. My wife said it was the best Pad Thai she's ever had. We highly recommend it and can't wait to go back some day.

Titaya’s is one of the best spots in town. My wife and I always come back to this place. It’s great for dine in or take out. Take out is efficient. And the food is delicious! Be prepared for a wait during dinner time. It’s a hot spot.

Everytime I'm in a major city, I always try to hit up a Thai food place. There was a wide selection of dishes. I had a curry dish while my husband had a rice dish. Both were great. The waitress was really nice and the service was prompt. I'd go again! Don't forget the Thai tea!

Heard about this place alot from many friends. Finally got there with a guy from work. Excellent flavors, kinda small portions . We ordered some apps first which were great. It's out in a strip mall, and easy ti just drive by it. If you are looking for Thai in Austin this is a great place. Tip: Closed Mondays, take note.

I got the lead to try this place from EaterAustin. I had a really good glass noodle dish. The veggies were not overcooked. It was seasoned just right.

Since changing the menu and decor, Titayas has lost some of its magic and charm - although it's still very good & a great value ... the bathrooms are a def. improvement and everything is clean and shiny.

I really can't understand what makes this place really special. Food is so so, service is extremely slow and more importantly this place is extremely dirty and by saying dirty, I mean it. I regretted ordering after I saw one of the waitresses giving herself a foot massage, toilets are not different from those portable toilets we see in festivals, I really can't say how frequently they change table cloths and we waited for 30 minutes for noodles because take away customers have priority. It was my first and definitely last visit until they change the way they do their business.

Prepare to wait unless you have a reservation. This popular local restaurant serves delicious Thai food from the mile to the spicy. Portions are generous and meant to be shared.

For starters we drive by all the time and decided to give them a try. Food was below average and whatever you do don't go into the men's restroom. Apparently someone, probably an employee considering the qty, has a bad habit of smearing nasal fluids on the wall. I've seen nasty restrooms and this tops them all, at least ones I've seen in the states.

Love their Yum Woon Sen and Red Curry. Seasonally, they have mango sticky rice (delicious)! Prices reasonable, nice atmosphere--popular place, may have a wait on weekends.

first off let me say the service was excellet. The waitress brought drinks etc very quick, I dont think i waited more than 10 minutes for my entree. I thought everything was good, just not spicy enough. A little siracha later and everything was great. The place itself could use an updating. its not dirty in the sense of being gross, its just old and a bit worn. All in all if you are in the area and want a good cheap Thai meal try them out!

Came after 9 on a Saturday night and the place was packed! We had the fried rice balls as an appetizer and they were really good! Perfectly fried on the outside. The ground chicken with basil was very good. I had the pad Thai and to be honest I didn't love it. I think everyone has a different taste with the tamarind and this one just wasn't my favorite. It did have a TON of shrimp so that was fantastic. I would definitely return

Thai restaurants can often suffer from poor service, especially the more you patronize the location. Not so with Titaya's. This may also be the very best Thai food in Austin. Their Beef Waterfall is spectaculalrly delicious. A triple threat with food, service, and price.

This is probably our favorite casual Thai restaurant in Austin. We also like Satay, which is a little more upmarket. The food is fresh and tasty, prices are reasonable. The place isn't very fancy and it can get pretty noisy and crowded, but the food is good. There is almost always a wait here, it is so popular, so arrive early, or expect to wait a while.

Everything we ordered was delicious. Very crowded when we arrived, but we only had to wait 15 minutes. Wait staff was very friendly. Excellent service. Highly recommend.

Great lunch specials! Cool room and friendly, attentive staff. Pad Thai, chicken & beef, steamed spinach dumplings to start, very good

Red and green curry is a must, you might rry some spring rolls and TomKa with shrimps before. Enjoy!!!.........

Four of us went to Titaya's for lunch. The other couple have been here numerous times and have told us it was worth stopping to eat. My wife normally thinks Thai is about like Chinese and normally is just so-so, Well today she is convinced we need to go back as she loved her dish of stir fried veggies and chicken. She did not like the white rice however declaring it to be low quality and not cooked correctly. Being a Korean raised in Japan I guess she knows what she is talking about - I think almost all white rice is the same and I seldom order it given a chance. Therefore the main meal had to be EXTRA good for her to suggest we need to return. The rest of us had pad Thai type dishes with either chicken or tofu. I really loved my chicken pad Thai with lots of veggies and a great sauce. The spring roll appetizers with shrimp and tofu were good and the peanut sauce was extra good. Again my wife cleaned out the little bowl of peanut sauce. I asked for spicy and the waitress assured me the dish was spicy but I added a little extra Siraccha sauce as I though it could use a little more kick. Certainly worth going again - good service and moderate prices makes for a good meal.

We wanted Thai food and gave this place a try. It was decent, but not the best. We had to wait a bit. The service was ok - but the server was a little overwhelmed. The food was ok, but not great. I would give it another try, though. Not bad!

All 3 dishes ordered were bland with no flavor. Vegetables seemed frozen and the dishes were watery with no sauce.

I had a nice dinner here with my wife recently, I had heard very good things about Titaya and I was still really impressed with my meal. I should admit upfront that Thai food is my favorite food, but even with that disclaimer I have to say that Titaya's is one of the better meals I've had in Austin. The decor is nice, very modern Asian and open. The servers were very polite, helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive without being annoying. We arrived early on a Sunday (around 5:30 p.m.), we easily got a table but the place had filled up when we left a bit after 6 p.m. I ate with my wife, she wasn't very hungry so all she ordered was the tofu leafy rolls. I started with the shrimp leafy rolls. My wife really liked the tofu roll flavor, I enjoyed the shrimp roll but it was the peanut sauce that really made the dish. Great peanut flavor and consistency, but not too peanuty like these sauces can sometimes be. For my main dish I ordered the Yum Woon-Sen, a glass noodle dish with shrimp, pork, peanuts, onions and tomatoes, and with a truly incredible chile lime sauce. The server warned me it was pretty spicy, but I like spicy (to a degree) so I decided to try it. It was truly almost a perfect spice level (for me, at least). I enjoy the kick of spice you get in a nice Mexican dish, but I absolutely love the slow build of a lasting burn you get with really good Thai food. The Yum Woon-Sen dish had this. I dove right in and tasted a bit of the spice, but it wasn't until I really mixed everything together, and got to the bottom of the dish (where the sauce had settled) that I really appreciated the dish. I love Sway, another great Thai restaurant in Austin, because they have come up with some really innovative and interesting Thai dishes. But at Titaya, I think they have mastered the art of capturing the traditional and true nature of Thai that I tasted in Bangkok (admittedly, the only place in Thailand I have visited to date). There were a couple other items on the menu that I will be heading back soon to try, the one that sticks out in my mind is the Tom Zap pork rib and mushroom soup. I also thought the prices were fair, especially given the quality of the dishes. Titaya is a bit out of the way if you're staying in downtown Austin, but if you want a truly authentic Thai experience (and wonderful flavors), I would say it's worth the drive/cab ride.

Highly recommended for tasteful thai food with good service, wide options and value for money. Excellent.

Plenty of restaurants at this location. This Thai restaurant serves food real quick and has the flavors in Thai fusion food. Pros: Ambiance, location, fresh food, service, Cons: small portions. I recommend this place for all to get to taste this unique Thai cuisine.

The food was not bad, but it was not memorable. The appetizers were tasty though and if someone drags me here again I will live. There were two very odd things that left a bad taste in my mouth. I tried to order two dishes without vegetable and was told the only menu item I could order without vegetables was the Thai fried rice. This left me to believe that meals are pre-packaged or something odd. The second oddity was that I was not allowed to order extra chicken in my fried rice. I had to order a second meat option. I won't be returning because it was not the style of Thai food I appreciate but one in my party loved it.

This is some of the best food I've had since I've been to Thailand. I absolutely loved the food (I had one of the noodle dishes), and so did my family (someone got a curry, a soup and a rice dish). We would all come back here again. We were lucky and got in without a wait, but it looks like there could be quite a wait. The restaurant is a good size, it's just that delicious.

This place is located in a strip mall way up on North Lamar. Normally I would have passed it by, but a friend recommended we go. Really glad we did. The food was certainly the best Thai food I have had in Austin. A few of the other local Thai places I've tried are OK, but nothing special. This place is different. Flavours are clear, authentic and bursting with flavour. Also, if they say it is hot, It is HOT!!! I had the green papaya salad and it was fiery. The food was so good I returned with another friend and my husband a few days later. Ignore the location and try it out! Delightful.

I really can't speak to "authentic" or not, but I can say, living in Austin, I go at least 1-2 month to Titaya's for lunch and/or dinner. Service is always prompt and friendly, ingredients fresh, and prices reasonable. I have ordered a lot off their menu - pad thai, noodle soups, curries, fish specials, etc. It's all been awesome. It's definitely worth trip to this unassuming restaurant in north central Austin.

What a surprise! After years of easy access to the wonderful sorcery of LA's thriving Thai Town, I thought my snooty palate was doomed to suffer bland, MSG-ridden Asian food for my entire time in Texas. Dead. Wrong. Titaya is my favorite Thai restaurant anywhere. Ignore the hillbillies with their chopsticks- the Thai will just use the spoon and fork youre given. And remember- it is bad luck to eat just one dish! Share a little with the rest of your party, it's all good here, but make sure you're the one that orders the red curry fish. It will blow you away.

This restaurant is in a nondescript strip mall, but is very nicely decorated inside. The staff was friendly and service was prompt. This may be the best Thai food in Austin according to some reviews, but I can’t say it was the best Thai food I’ve ever had. They did have some unusual appetizers. We shared the corn taro Fritters, which were very good. We also shared the green curry (just average with too many bamboo shoots) and Pad Eggplant (again just average). So, while they did an okay job, I’m not sure I’d be a regular if I lived in town.

Visiting Austin, and had your fill of heavier choices? TItaya's is a great change. Despite its unassuming location in a strip mall, the service and food is very good, and a great value. Fresh ingredients, and the menu accurately describes the amount of heat, and you get large portions.

My friend recommended we meet here after work for dinner, as this had been “recently re-opened.” Located on Lamar just south of where Koenig, it wasn’t bad to get to during evening rush, and the parking was decent. Inside the tables were placed close together to make a cozy setting, but there was enough space for the servers and other patrons to navigate their way. Some walls severed to separate the sections, which kept the noise level down. The menu items were reasonably priced for casual dining. We ordered dinner types of things for appetizers and our main course, so we could try what each other had. It was nice that our server asked what level of spiciness we liked, so it could be adjusted to our individual tastes. The food was good, and it was a decent value.

About eight of us went out in search for a good meal near our rental for the weekend. We found Titaya's Thai Cuisine within walking distance. It located off a main street in a less traveled part of Austin. It was Friday night and there was a wait. This is a good sign as a crowded restaurant usually means the food is pretty good. The inside of the restaurant is pretty ordinary with ample seating except for weekend nights I suppose. The menu had many atypical dishes that you don't see on most Thai menus. There are many noddle dishes and salads. The soups looked appetizing. We ordered Boong Kia Bok which are hand wrapped shrimp with noodles, carrots, in an egg roll skin. It was very good. The spring rolls are worth ordering too. I ordered Gang Musmum which is a mild curry with carrots, potatoes, pork (you can also order it with beef, chicken or shrimp), onions and coconut milk. The curry was wonderful and mild. it did not drown out the flavors of the other ingredients in the dish. If you want authentic and out of the ordinary Thai food then try Titaya's Thai Cuisine.

Kind of a grubby place, but quite good food. I live in Georgetown, TX and there is NO Thai anywhere close to me. So I'm happy to finally have some decent pad woon sen only 45 minutes away! Went to a late lunch, so the line wasn't too bad. And the service was very friendly. Everything tasted fresh, and the vegetarians I was with swear by the quality.

The food selection was great! The service was awesome. Very friendly and very helpful. Tasty food

After hearing from local friends that Titaya has some of the best Thai food in Austin, I decided to check it out on Friday for lunch for the first time with friends from work. Unfortunately...there was a line out the door and we had to go elsewhere to eat and get back to the office in time. I was curious why so many people were patiently waiting in the rain in order to eat here.... After work I dropped by again to get to go food for my wife and I. Dinner from Titaya made my wife very happy. :) We ordered shrimp pad thai, gang garee chicken and thai fried rice. The pad thai was good, but I really wish we picked something a bit more exotic. The fried rice was tasty and very light, it did not make me sleepy like fried rice often does. The gang garee chicken on the other hand....was MARVELOUS!!! What a homerun. Titaya is in an older, kind of run down shopping center. The decor is very basic. But the prices are low, and the quality of the food is fantastic. The wait staff was literally running between taking orders and bringing food to customers, it was great to see so much energy. I am a new fan of Titaya! If you go there, just expect a wait. Parking is also complicated due to how busy they are. But be patient and you will be well rewarded! They deserve their popularity.

We moved to the north Lamar area while this was being renovated. When it opened a few months later we had a fantastic meal, totally worth the wait. The restaurant it's quite nice given its location and relatively modest outside appearance. If you love Thai food and are in the area definitely stop by.

There was not a single item I didn't like. At the end of the meal, the wait staff was so sweet. She even taught us a few simple Thai greetings!

i am not the biggest thai food fan, but my wife is and she frequents this place (usually for lunch) often, and finally convinced me to try it. great coconut soup (i am not good with the thai name, so english it is for me), excellent appetizers, and hearty large portions offer value for money. service was friendly and on point. we arrived at just after 7pm on a thursday evening, and had about a 20 minute wait for a table. according to my wife, one of the best places i austin for thai food, and i cannot disagree.

Service was great, food was good. More than impressed and I have traveled Thailand. Pros: - Tastes were authentic - Service was friendly and accommodating - Well priced Cons: - None We had the Green Curry, Pad Kee Mao and Coconut Ice Cream

Delicious Thai food and impeccable service. The food is freshly prepared and served with a smile. My first time at this awesome place and I'm certain I will be back for more.

Busy place on a Saturday evening, price is very reasonable, great customer service , nice atmosphere. Is just delicious.

We went for lunch during workweek. The hospitality would enjoy being manned by someone who seems more "hospitable". But the food was quite tasty, selection interesting and service good as well as the ambiance of the place. Not my most favorite place in the world but I would go again.

This restaurant was recommended by a local, and I'm so glad I went. The restaurant is reasonably priced, has delicious food and pleasing decor. I ordered basil rice with chicken. It came with a cup of mushroom soup and was only $7.95. What a bargain! What made it even better was the speedy and courteous service, and being five minutes away from my meeting place. I will be back again.

Lovely service, great tasting food, particularly happy to see kway teo (noodle soup) and Khao soi ( Northern curry noodle soup) on the menu, which I don't see very often.

Just like all other Thai Restaurant. Very nice sitting and good food. We came with other friends..........

Hands down best Thai food in Austin. Papaya Salad, Green Curry Fried Rice, Tom Yum, Mango and Sticky Rice and Coconut Ice Cream. Could go on and on. As close to Thailand as you can get. Closed for remodeling now...cant wait for them to re-open!

I enjoyed my appetizers: Satay chicken, corn fritters. These items were very tasty. I also enjoyed the crab-fried rice. The curry with carrots was short of potatoes and peanuts but okay. The rice pudding was different but good -- my first experience with black rice. Restaurant was full but I did takeout from the Web so I was in out quickly. Nice size portions for more than one meal. Worth the visit!

I love Titayas, it's my favorite Thai restaurant. The food is always great and I always encounter good service. By far the the best curry dishes I have tried.

We had not been here for quite a while but suddenly got a serious hankering for Thai food. My wife is a Pad Thai addict and I have strong feelings about green curry. Both are on their lunch special menu. There are ten lunch options that come with a bowl of soup. You also have a choice of proteins with shrimp at a upcharge. The food was excellent as always and the service was attentive and pleasant.

Our family had discussed stopping be as were were in the neighborhood and were certainly glad we did. We found the dishes to be large enough to dine family style and the prices were very reasonable. The fried fish was crispy and delicious, but the sauce was even better. We were all spooning it over our rice and nothing was left over. Everything seemed very fresh and the kitchen was very fast, even during a busy lunch. Our server was excellent and very attentive. This is definitely worth a try.

This is indeed great Thai restaurants in Austin, especially for Indians like us who visit Austin. We really enjoyed the delicious tasty Thai food and the service rendered. I appreciate their hospitality in spite of heavy rush on the weekend. When in Austin do make a point to visit this restaurant.

We went for dinner after a recital at UT on a Friday night, and it was busy, but the wait was only 35 minutes. After our party of 4 was seated, my granddaughter surprised us. I offered to share my chair with her, and the host came over and repositioned the table to accommodate one more chair, no problem! We started with Spinach Dumplings, steamed dumplings stuffed with spinach with a side of mild sweet soy vinegar. What a surprisingly yummy treat! I ordered Pad Thai, and it was excellent! Others ordered more spicy dishes, and they raved about the food. My granddaughter ordered Mango Sticky Rice, and it was so pretty - a half mango sliced, sitting on a base of what looked like blue/green sticky rice (I think it was black rice), all covered with coconut sauce. It was delicious!! Our server was wonderful, quietly refilling drinks, and removing empty plates, and we never felt rushed, enjoying lively conversation as we ate. I would definitely eat there again and am happy to recommend Titaya's Thai Cuisine in Austin, Texas!

The hostess seating guests was not too friendly and kept running around here and there not even greeting the guests. She was also cleaning up the tables (one of the tables she cleaned by spilling left over water from the previous guest and wiping that off with a cloth! yukh how unhygienic!). We ordered the tom yum soup fire bowl which was very tasty but too much on the tangy side. There are a lot of sea food options and the menu is extensive. Our server was very good and prompt. The place was jam packed with a lot of wait time but that is understandable for a friday night!

As a Thai food fan, I'm still searching for the best Thai in Austin. However, Titaya is right up there. We had the Pad Thai, Pineapple Rice with Pork (the group favorite) and Beef fried rice. All were tasty and fresh. The service was spot on. The atmosphere is a bit strange, but the food makes it bearable.

Always pick a busy place for good eats- this place was hopping with a major lunch rush when we stopped. The hostess greeted us with a big smile and found us a tiny table. Our waitress was dealing with a group of 12 and still had time to greet us, get drink orders and swing back around in a timely manner for our food order. I watched the servers around the room and they worked together to make all of the customers happy. The large group had four different servers delivering food and filling drinks. The front of the house ran like a well oiled machine. The food was delivered quickly and it was delicious. The orders were too large for us to finish- if i lived in Austin, i would eat here on a weekly basis!

This is my #1 for Thai food in Austin--hands down the best in town.

I liked what we ordered, food quality very good, the place was nice and the service was perfect. Good experience

I ordered food online while in my car to pick up a quick dinner. I promptly started my car to pick it up. My battery was dead. I immediately called them it was within 2 minutes, and they said sorry we will not refund you because your food is made. What? That is a lie. I explained to him that I JUST ordered it, and that was impossible. He said, "well, we make food pretty quick around here." Sorry, you just lost a customer for straight up lying and not being understanding.

Excellent service and food. Good curries. Delicious koa pad. Noisy, but still able to communicate. Looking forward to trying other dishes. Reasonable prices and ample serving size.

We enjoyed this restaurant very much. The waitresses are so charming and sweet. The food was good, although it tended towards the spicy end of the range. I had Pad Puk with beef with a great brown sauce! We loved the fried tofu appetizer!

Great food and very friendly service. Reasonable prices and a nice selection of Thai specialties. Highly recommended.

Having passed this restaurant many times and heard good things about it, we finally got to eat there last Saturday night. The place itself is nothing special - it is a relatively small restaurant, with modest decor, but it is buzzing with people. We had about a 20 minute wait to get a table. The food was excellent - having eaten at many Thai restaurants in Thailand as well as other countries, I can say the food preparation was tasty and authentic. At about $8-$9 for a main course (up to about $14 for a special),, this is excellent value. Our waitress was also very helpful and attentive. We will be back!

Tom Yum, Chicken basil rice, Beef Gang Dang, Shrimp Pad Thai and best of all the Mango Sticky Rice. All perfect and all reasonably priced.

All around was good meal. It is located in a nondescript building on Lamar Blvd, the interior is nicely decorated. The food was anything but nondescript. We started off with Spinach Dumplings, Corn Taro Fritter and Satay Gai… My favorite of the 3 was the Satay Gai with plenty of flavor. We ordered 4 entrees which we passed around the table and had lots of leftovers. The consensus favorite from our group was the Gang Garee a delicious curry dish. The Pad Thai was very good, followed up by the Lard Nah and Pad Puk. We also ordered their Crab rice and it was well received. The service was friendly and very good, our food came out hot from the kitchen.

The food here is terrific, as is the service. Great takes on the predictable originals and some fun and different things to order too. My recommendation--try something new. I did and did not regret it. The food here is worth coming back for, the prices amazing for a big city, and the faux hipster watching can't be beat--lot's of hipster beards and skinny jeans and big glasses on daters staring at their phones instead of each other. This place turns the tables and for very good reason. The food is very, very good, the people watching also great. I'll definitely go back on my next trip to Austin.

My son recommended this place near his high school. I was skeptical, since his friends like KFC...but it is GREAT! Our family loves Thai food, and Tatiya is one of the best places we've found in Austin, and less expensive than some of the other good ones. Friendly service, great location, pleasant decor and clean. Highly recommend.

Titayas has to be our favorite Thai food in Austin. Everything is delicious. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. When you go you must try the mushrooms and rice balls on the appetizer list, they are splendid.

Nice quaint place in downtown Austin. The service started out rather slow but they made up for it in the tasty food. We started out with two "First Bites", first came the Leafy Roll with Shrimp, served with their house peanut sauce. It was good, a little goes a long way with the sauce. The next one was their signature wings, yummmmmm! It came with its own sweet type sauce but it was cooked perfectly without it. Our main course was Pad Woon Sen, this was a little disappointing for me as it didn't have a robust flavor like the First Bites. The glass noodles, what few there were, held most of the flavor. With that being said everything seemed to be cooked fresh & I will definitely come back to try other things.

Service was wonderful, really like the contemporary Thai design of the restaurant. Our appetizer and the coconut panna cotta for desert were stellar, the main courses were meh. Ginger pad thai with tofu did not have much of a ginger flavor and the red curry with chicken was so unlike any other red curry I have had that I think the kitchen may have given me the wrong dish. I would be willing to return and see if this was a fluke before I wrote this restaurant off entirely.

Tried this place while visiting Austin, and were looking for some Thai food. To our delight, found this place with very high ratings, which was absolutely true and very well deserving! The menu offers a wide selection of Thai food, some of which are not present on the menus of most Thai restaurants. Tried coconut, mushroom, and chicken soup and tofu eggplant curry - and I can swear that I did not know tofu could be that good! My family also loved what they ordered. The desert, fried banana (something) was also equally delightful! It is a clean and tidy place with relaxing ambiance and a cool interior. Packed during lunch time! Exterior, it may not be located in the part of town where one would expect to find such a fine restaurant, but it is true to its kind offering authentic Thai fod!

I went to this restaurant several times, and it is just amazing. The meals are prepared extremely well, and the atmosphere is very clean and like able. A personal recommendation is to order the sticky rice with mango. Nothing beats that.

The wait for a table was short and the staff very attentive and friendly. The Tom Kha soup was flavorful, although the shrimp were small and just a tad rubbery (prepared too far in advance). The "Treasure Island" special was very good, with the flavors delicate but distinct. Again the seafood was a shade overcooked but not enough to distract from the mean. The squid was properly tender (sometimes a problem in some Thai dishes) and the spicing was just right for me. My companion ordered the spicy-hot Basil Talay and asked them to scale the heating back because she liked all the ingredients but does not tolerate spicy well. She found her dish too spicy-hot (I did not at all, so this is always relative to personal taste), but ate most of it anyway (and popped antiacids later that evening as a result of her enjoyment). The portions were moderate. With the soup we had no room for mango sticky rice (a favorite here) and even took doggy boxes home for a later snack. The ambiance was calm; a little noisy but not enough that you could not carry on a normal level conversation at the table.

Ordered the Tom Yum Thai Shrimp Fried Rice and my wife ordered Pad Thai w/ Shrimp and Chicken. Both dishes tasted great! Classy atmosphere, decent price, and great service. Couldn't ask for more. Highly recommend.

We read this place had the best Thai food in Austin. They lied. It started out ok they had many drink options but all hot tea and that is not appetizing on a hot Texas day. We started with corn fritter app and it was great but they could not leave out egg from certain dishes for vegans which is often ordered at other restaurants within problem which leads me to think some dishes are not made fresh. We ordered, wings, which were bleh, pineapple fried rice and it was not to my taste and I did not eat and the rest was so not memorable. And the bill was outrageous. Not worth it in the least. Very sorry I wasted an afternoon in Austin in this place.

Highly recommend, friendly great service, excellent food., good prices and large portions. They have a full bar and the cold sake is terrific.

Great service... can't expect less from Thais. They are just warm people. Great food overall, although I prefer the Tom Kha from Madam Maam's. However, Titaya is always accommodating and can make any dish according to your taste. My best dishes from here are Pad Hed and Pad Basil Eggplant. Yum!

Went with my wife and mother and although I expected a great experience after reading the reviews, my expectations were exceeded! Fresh food prepared with just the right amount of spices .. Authentic taste and exemplary service. No wonder the place is busy throughout! Can only recommend it is all categories !

We loved Trust's Pad Thai pre-remodeling. Went tonight - noodles were really chewy and presentation was a collision of ingredients, like it was served from a big pot of pre-made pre-flavored noodles, with some shrimp thrown in. Titayas - please go back to the freshness and presentation of components that was more apappealing and tasted like it was prepared to order. On the other hand, Tom Kah was out of this world.
Nice Thai Restauant
This was a very good Thai restaurant, and one I will retun to when I visit Austin. The larb salad was excellent. I enjoyed the tom-yum soup, though I felt it needed more mushrooms and chicken in the broth. The coconut ice cream was delicious! The restaurant has a big following, and it was crowded the night we were there. There was no wait for seating, however, and the food came promptly. I consider it one of the better Thai restaurants I've eaten at.
