Super friendly service, and really nice food. The waiter gave us a great suggestion and the food came out really fast, fresh and delicious.

Great food at a reasonable price!

By bookman63 |

Came here on the recommendation of a local. The food was very good, and the prices weren't bad at all. My companion said the chipotle cream enchilada we tried was the best enchilada she'd ever had! Our server was wonderful as well.

New find just off the River Walk

By John B |

We visited this place as an after graduation at Ft Sam Houston event. There were 12 of us. We all got different items and all were great. The server did a great job of juggling all our orders and different arrival times. Portions were very generous! I took home 1/2 of my Tortilla soup home! The food was very authentic "Mexican". This will become a regular stop hen we go to San Antonio.

House salsa rocks..get off the beaten River Walk hotel trail and dine here!

By world t |

Our annual pilgrimage to San Antonio includes a lunch at Tito's. 2 thumbs up The house salsa rocks for flavor...the best. Get off the beaten tourist Riverwalk trail and check out this local establishment in King William District. You can ride the bus from the downtown district as the bus passes in front of the restaurant.

Our vote for best Mexican

By Kary D |

We love Tito’s! Stopped for breakfast one morning and had such a great experience we came back for lunch. We recommend a stop for some excellent salsa and great tasting food.

Not fancy but the food was really good!

By jett860 |

I went with a friend when we were roaming around the city. The food was better than expected and the server was nice. The only thing I didn't like was the one bathroom. I think all restaurants should have more than one. Other than that it was pretty good.

Lunch starts at 11am

By philip t |

The food here has always been great and the waitstaff has always been excellent. My comments are for management. The manager would not allow any lunch items to be ordered before 11am. C;mon, I though I was at McDonalds. You can't make a crispy taco until 11am? Other than that, food has always been good. You should reconsider your lunch policy, some people eat breakfast while you're still asleep.

Breakfast

By savsjv |

The best tortilla, texture was very soft. Had bean and chorizo tacos. 3 for less than $4. Great service, clean place and good service.

Best Mexican During Trip to SA

By raeumlich |

We ate here one Tuesday night for dinner. I had done some research prior to my trip to SA and decided this might be a place to try. The service was slow that night, but our server apologized and explained they were short-staffed. The food more than made up for it. I had a combination dinner that came with two types of enchiladas and one crunchy taco. Everything was delicious! The taco shell was very fresh, as were the lettuce and tomatoes, and was possibly the best taco I've had. The enchiladas were equally delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Fantastic

By David A |

This small out of the way place has become my absolute favorite for authentic Mexican cuisine and by far the most fantastic Margarita I have ever tasted. Way to go, Tito!

We liked Tito's

By latia2017 |

Pleasant server, good food. Except all the potatoes had chorizo. Beautiful photos on the wall. Clean and open-feeling.

Best Mole I’ve Had Since Puebla

By Terri B |

Came by on a busy Friday night and had a delicious mole. Best I’ve had since I stayed in Puebla. We also shared a queso as a starter. It was so good I wish I hadn’t had to share it. Our waitress was lovely too. Just a really great experience to finish off our time in San Antonio. If I lived here I’d be a regular customer.

Unexpectedly Good

By brambleyone |

We stumbled into this restaurant on our first night in San Antonio by chance as it was the nearest to our hotel. It might not look a lot from the outside but it provided an excellent introduction to Mexican food and, being a 'local' type establishment was very reasonably priced. Our server was very helpful with explaining things; not only that,he provided us with very useful information as to how to get around on the No 11 bus, for example! Indeed, when we happened to be passing by 3 days later he remembered us and asked us how we were getting along! Indeed,we were well impressed , both with him and the restaurant - no wonder they are so popular!

Tito’s is just what we wanted.

By mr_larry_smith |

Tito’s restaurant is a very nice neighborhood Mexican restaurant. It seems to be full of locals. The menu and food were excellent.

Real Mexican food

By gottcoke |

Wife and I went here by getting off hop on and off bus. We had asked one of the shops by the Alamo where to eat and the guy said to go here and we found that bus stopped near here so we did it for lunch. This is by far the best and most reasonably price place so far in San Antonio. Wife had mini taco and it was not mini in size or taste. I had Thursday special and it was 2 of the best enchiladas I have ever had. There was a good crowd and you could tell that this is the local spot. It is a little long walk from downtown but you could stroll here along river walk or just a little past tower of America’s. Just get here because this is a gem off the beaten path.

Excellent ma and pas Mexican place

By MrsRuby10 |

Amazing food and drinks!!! House margarita was good and the mango chamoy is EXCELLENT!!! Husband had the puffy tacos one beef and one chicken, said they were good. I took the waitress suggestion of the cilantro cheese chicken enchiladas and they were delicious!!!!

Great Place!

By Jay |

Came here for breakfast, Great food and service! Will come back again. The only bad thing is the parking could be bigger.

Good Food, Good Service

By oklahomabiologist |

If you are looking for good mexican food, look no further! Tito's is the place to go! Reasonable prices, large servings, and very good customer service.

Breakfast review

By jacu23 |

We came here for breakfast. It was quick seating and quick service. It was ok, nothing special. But looks like the to go breakfast tacos are very popular.

I would go back to San Antonio just for the hatch chili enchiladas!!

By njstrobel |

We stopped here for an inexpensive lunch on the recommendation of our Uber driver! I had the Hatch Chili enchiladas, and my husband had the chicken enchiladas. Both were good, but hands down we both preferred the hatch! I also had fresh lime aid which was amazing. If you’re looking for authentic Tex mex served by people who are proud of their family business, eat at Tito’s!!

¡Excelente!

By Donna E |

Tired from a long drive to San Antonio, looking for a non-touristy, neighborhood Tex-Mex place? Tito’s is it!! I sat at the bar and ordered from the menu - Marquito’s Favorite with a crispy taco and two enchiladas. Perfect with a margarita (good-sized, served in a beer tumbler). Yes, this is now my go-to for dinner.

Get the tostadas and puffy tacos.

By vacuity86 |

Worth the hike from the river walk - prices are much cheaper and crowds are more reasonable. Had great service and the food was pretty damn good (aside from potato in the puffy tacos... To go with the rice, and the tacos, and the beans... How fat do you think I am?). Recommended.

Mario’s Special Plate

By digitalroc |

I took an Uber to Tito’s Mexican restaurant; it was a bare inside for a restaurant. I ordered the Mario’s Special Plate with cilantro cream ($17.28) after I couldn’t decide on the enchiladas or fajitas, so get them both! The service was okay, the food was pretty good, and kind of a no atmosphere restaurant. The payment system had issues, and it didn’t help that there were four inconsiderate people lined up to pay individually for their takeaway.

good food, reasonable price

By KevinWashingtonMO |

Great place to get away from the Riverwalk. Service was excellent, Salsa was wonderful and a little bit spicey and the food Delicious. Nice area to sit outside in the evening. Prices reasonable and drinks good.

Great food and atmosphere

By Alicia B |

I stopped in here with a friend during a recent road trip. The atmosphere was lively, the staff polite and quick. The food was good - a great low key stop. They offered Mexican coke (which I love) and strawberry lemonade with fresh strawberries (which I loved).

Good food without the RIverwalk prices

By WI-Firefighter |

Enjoyed a breakfast and dinner here with family and they said it was much better than the overpriced Mexican food on the Riverwalk. Decent portion sizes and minimal wait times for food. The homemade churros were an unexpected delight. I left off one star because when my brother order the chorizo, the plate was swimming in the oil from the meat.

Quiet and Off The Beaten Path

By danidb518 |

Didn’t ask, but the old building appeared to be a grocery store back in the day. Could see neat old freezers in kitchen area. Don’t let the looks of the outside ‘scare’ you off, as the food was good, tasty and simple. Sometimes you gotta think outside the Riverwalk! And a little cheaper than that area as well.

Good food.

By BryanP250 |

Great little local San Antonio restaurant. The salsa was nice & spicy. The taco plate was outstanding. The only negative was the restaurant was really warm inside. The heat of San Antonio is already pushing you, eating in a warm place can be tough. They are worth the trip!

OMG is this the best find ever! Nothing really to look at, but excellent

By Renee T |

We wanted a good breakfast taco and googled surrounding areas (we were staying at the Hilton Palaceo) and saw the reviews so decided to give it a try. On our first visit we had the breakfast special (3 breakfast taco's for $3.75). Now, I was expecting tiny tacos at this price. Let me tell you what we received, homemade tortillas, four different salsas to try, we ordered pico de gallo (extra $). On our first trip hubby had the Huervo's Ranchero's ($3.99) and I had the breakfast taco special. I don't think I have ever had better and we have traveled the country. The service was over the top. We loved it so much we brought our adult kids the next two trips and they are hooked. We also brought 2 of the Carne a la Mex to my in-laws as this was my all time favorite item. OMG it is mouth watering, add cheese. Ask for Susan ;) She was wonderful as was the other servers. Go with complete confidence.

Take Out, and In, sort of...

By Misael |

We decided to grab a large order of Steak and Chicken Fajitas and Carne Guisada Tacos to go, so as to feed a large group whom all flew in for the Air Force Academy graduation. From the beginning, staff worked with us in meeting our needs. They offered us chips while we waited for the order to be completed. We sat at the bar for a few beers, and the service at the bar was amazing. The restaurant and bar are separated, so the bar area was very much a sorts bar setting, while the restaurant was also very very nice. They offered chips and plenty of salsa to go. I can easily say that these taco's were the best I ever had. Hands down. Can't wait to return one day.

Get away from the River Walk

By Tim F |

I enjoy the River Walk, but the quality of eating there is poor. Titos is about 15 minute walk and worth it. Great value, huge variety, delicious food. Highly recommended for a cheap and cheerful meal.

Delicious Mexican off the beaten path.

By Renee M |

Wow… Do not judge a book by its cover. All of the locals recommended coming here and it did not disappoint! The enchiladas here were absolutely phenomenal. The food feels incredibly authentic which sets them apart from the other Mexican restaurants in this area. The drinks were also very well made. We went for lunch and it wasn’t busy, but it the server said it get busy from happy hour onward. Definitely make this a stop if you love Mexican food.

Fantastic food

By Rsmarco |

Came in on a cold rainy day and they had Sopa de Fideo! Yummy Good service. Authentic King William building.

Authentic

By nhroadster |

Met up with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. Sat at the bar and waited forever for mini tacos. Pretty sure they missed our order as others were being served without delay. But, hey, what’s a little wait to eat the best al pastor tacos I have had since leaving Chicago. They were so good that we went back for dinner on Friday night so I could have them again. My husband loved the enchiladas. No wait this time. This place is off the beaten path, a few blocks off the riverwalk. Don’t be turned off by the very casual atmosphere, the food is just delicious.

Great lunch specials

By Cisco A |

Lunch specials are abundant and super good. Came here for the first time in a long time and I'm so glad we came. Good variety and darn good food! This place is a staple here in Southtown and they keep serving up some dang good Mexican/ Tex-Méx/ New Mexican food. You gotta try this place!!

Good value, great servixe

By herroyalmelness |

I stopped in for dinner and had a local pork dish (I forget the name), it was tasty but not standout. The service was quick and attentive while I was there (it was a quiet mid-week) evening. Liked that fresh corn tortilla chips and salsa are served as a welcome app.

Mediocre

By yo mama P |

I don't profess to be a connoisseur, but I wasn't impressed at all. The bean taco was pretty good. The salsa was SPICY, too hot for this gringo, though it did have a good taste. I don't think that I would recommend this restaurant...

Great Happy Hour!

By Kathy K |

Tito's always has great food. However, if you are looking for happy hour, they are great! Not only do they have great prices for drinks (margaritas are great), they also have great prices for lots ot thinks to go with it...nachos, sopes, etc. I love the chicken sopes. Everything is great here...super enchildas, many varieties!

So good we are here twice … in 2 days!

By Cassie W |

Amazing food, decent prices, huge portions. We were in San Antonio for only two days and ate here two times! The flavor of their food is incredible and even our pickiest eater loved the nachos!

had drinks and dinner here

By David S |

This place is around the corner from Eva's Gardinia escape it is authentic Texas the staff was so helpful and you felt like they knew you. The food was great and the choice of drinks second to none

Home Cooking from a Mexican Kitchen

By bohemian81 |

We walked from our La Villita-area hotel to eat breakfast at Tito's. It was a Saturday morning about 9:30, and there was no waiting for a table. The restaurant was slightly less than half full. We ordered Bloody Maria's with our breakfast, and the drinks seemed to take longer to prepare than our breakfast entrees. The bar was in an adjacent dining area, but no one was in there so I can't quite explain why it took so long to prepare drinks. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros plate (large portions for only $3.99!) and my partner order the Migas plate. Both were very good: my eggs were perfectly cooked and the refried beans were delicious. Our server was very gracious. It's a cavernous dining area with bright colors on the walls and adorned with great pictures. There are also TV screens, which on this morning of breaking news was welcome. We'll definitely return for a really affordable, tasty breakfast so close to walking distance from our favorite hotel.

Tasty, simple Mexican food

By Shelly C |

We were on the hunt for some basic Mexican food. The Riverwalk is great and all, but everyone seems to be trying to "out-chef" the next place. Call me uncultured, but I don't need foie gras on my hamburger, which only serves to turn a $16 hamburger into a $22 hamburger. We also did not want chain restaurants, Italian or Asian fusion. We wanted ceviche, margaritas and some great Mexican food. Tito's has it in spades. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is loaded with amazing food and great service inside. Ceviche was awesome (I could have eaten just that for lunch), and the margaritas were ice cold and tasty. We devoured the ceviche and split fajitas for lunch and waddled out of there stuffed and ready for a nap. As an aside, a young couple walked in behind us and asked to see a menu before they would sit down. Really? When you walk into a place like this, what do you expect? Burgers and fries? Sometimes you just have to roll with it. Get off the Riverwalk and stop in. You won't be disappointed.

Best Tex-Mex in Southtown.

By The Old Chief |

If you go to only one Tex-Mex restaurant in San Antonio, do yourself a favor and go to Tito's. My family and I were in San Antonio for a Christmas get-together and ended up being regulars there for the full two weeks we were in town. Food is not fancy, but fresh, well prepared and tasty. Simple, good tasting dishes would be the best description I could offer. We did have dinner one evening and started with margaritas. Well done, Tito's, well done. The New Mexico Enchiladas I order were served with a rich, creamy crema sauce. Nachos were generous with beans, queso, and carne picatta. Service is fast, helpful, friendly and efficient. The dining room, like the food is simple and uncluttered. The seating is comfortable, and the noise level low. All in all, if I were staying in San Antonio longer Tito's would become my favorite Tex-Mex hangout.

Looking for Mexican food.

By ohgordie |

While in Texas, I always look forward to some real Tex-Mex food. This is the place for it. The service was very good and we didn’t wait too long for our food. Price was fair. I would comeback again for sure.

Friendly neighborhood restaurant with tasty food

By webbgirl49 |

This was just around the corner from our B & B in the King William Historic District. We were so glad to find it after checking into our room. We didn't feel like driving again. Walked around the corner and into this friendly casual spot. Enjoyed the food and drinks. My husband went back for supper on our second night, also.

I need you now

By lalalala41 |

Sooooo I tried this place out due to all the awesome reviews . It was awesome !! Gus was my waiter & he was so nice . The chips are too die for . I couldn’t stop eating them . I had the puffy taco plate with beef . It tasted so good . The rice was even good !! It didn’t taste like it came out of the box or anything. I will definitely be back ! Ask for GUS

A great mexican restaurant

By arithecat |

Because we got a recommendation for this restaurant we decided to try it. Tito's isn't a tourist spot so we were hoping the food would be good. Boy, were we right. They have a very nice menu and prices are good. Since we don't eat a lot, we got the mini taco's (4) with steak meat. Everything was fresh and very tasty. The salsa and quac are really good. The servers were very nice; personable and professtional and are happy to make recommendations. They had no problem with our sharing the meal- that's always a plus for us. This is not on the Riverwalk. It is about 7 blocks from the Hilton on Alamo Street. I would highly recommend this as an authentic Mexican restaurant without all the high prices and sub par food.

Stick with the Margaritas!

By whenpigsfly70 |

This was our first time visiting Tito’s. As San Antonians, we can be picky about our TexMex. The margaritas were on point but the bloody Mary left a little to be desired. In fact, it tasted like it had meat marinade in it. So weird! The ceviche was a perfect blend of fish, jicama, jalapeño, onions and lime with fresh chips. The cilantro cream and chipotle enchiladas were good and the fajitas were tasty. The beans and rice were relatively bland. But the homemade corn tortillas were the bomb! Also loved the fresh salsa! We went thru 3 bowls of it!

Delicious enchiladas

By KatieZ995 |

I ordered the chipotle cream enchiladas and a jalapeno margarita. Both were amazing! The service was very prompt and friendly. I would recommend Tito's to anyone visiting San Antonio!

Decent margaritas and food!

By DaytonQueen4 |

This location was suggested to us so we wanted to give it a try. Decent drinks and queso. Small, older place.

Great local mexican

By Choob |

My wife and I were staying 5 minute walk away from here and ate here twice in three days. Awesome mexican food, great service and friendly staff. Superb.

Great food for real; not a tourist trap

By GENCNauset |

We are New Englanders who love Mexican food but don't get much of it at home. The folks at the hotel where we stayed suggested Tito's when we asked for a place that the locals would go for good Mexican. We ate here twice, and it was great. Excellent food and margaritas, good service, and definitely lots of local people there. Wish we could take the chef back to New England with us!

Good Mexican Food

By Bthummel |

Much better than most you will find on the Riverwalk. More of a local favorite according to locals. Food was great and the only thing that kept it from 5 Stars was service. It was worse than slow. I eventually had to get up and go get our basket of chips refilled. Would have had several more beers had I had the opportunity.

Reliable neighborhood favorite

By Jennifer M |

Went here this week after a long time of not visiting. I wanted to verify my feeling that their hot sauce was the best in the city, as well as having one of the best breakfast plates in the city. We went for a late breakfast on a weekday, so it was not crowded at all. One of the only negatives was the lack of parking. Not a problem for those that live downtown, but for those of us that drive into town, we had to search around the block for parking. The restaurant itself was very clean. The decor was reflective of San Antonio's colorful heritage, what with its multi-colored walls and nicely displayed artwork. We were greeted quickly upon entering and received clean (important) menus. Tito's has a pretty large breakfast menu, including several signature breakfast tacos and plates. My husband had a chilaquiles taco and the Niles Favorite taco. He thought the chilaquiles was great - probably one of the best in the city. Filled with eggs, tomatoes, fresh jalapeños, chips, and cheese. The Niles Favorite was a signature combination taco with avocado, refried beans, cheese and bacon. This combination taco was better than one of the competitor's combination tacos, and cheaper. Both were on flour tortillas which appeared homemade and were just the right thickness and size. Thick enough to hold the ingredients without tearing, yet not so thick that it overwhelmed the taste of the ingredients. I had the Desayuno Plate, which is a bed of Mexican refried rice, topped with two over-easy eggs and sliced avocado. I'm not a vegetarian, but it is a great plate, and I would think a great choice for vegetarians. It had been years since I had this plate and I wanted to come back to make sure it was as good as I remembered. And, yes it was as good as I remembered. The only addition needed for me was a slight bit of salt and some of their wonderful salsa. The plate is very filling - a great bargain for the price. And the salsa is also what I feel is the best in the city: a good consistency and good heat level, made of quality ingredients. I had corn tortillas with my plate. Again excellent tortillas that seemed homemade - thick pillow like tortillas. The only other slightly negative was their bathrooms. The appearance is a bit dirty, although that might be because it is an old building since several other restaurants downtown have the same issue. As a plus, our waiter was responsive and professional. All in all, Tito's is a reliable favorite downtown restaurant. Can't wait to try it for lunch, happy hour, or dinner.

Friendly and Authentic

By Y4760DIjeffs |

Tito's has the feeling of your go-to neighborhood bar/restaurant...if you lived in the King William district of San Antonio. On the late Sunday afternoon I visited, the place was still somewhat busy with families, small groups of diners, and folks at the bar watching basketball. Waitstaff were very helpful and friendly and no one was rushing me along. Very low key. The food was good, basic, and seemed reasonably authentic (for mid-TX texmex). Excellent salsa!

Great find!

By Phil v |

We spent 1 day in San Antonio and searched online for somewhere for dinner. This place was such a good find. Staff were excellent, food was amazing and great value for money. Frozen margaritas were the best! They were also able to cater for a gluten free diner (they could substitute many dishes with corn tacos).

Incredible Authentic Mexican Restaursnt!

By SJL |

This place was about a 30 minute walk from the Alamo and definitely worth it! I had the Ceviche and my husband had the Spinach Enchiladas. Come with chips and salsa which does have some heat! I highly recommend and it is very reasonably priced.

Good Meal!

By headduckd |

We tried this place after walking past it hundreds of times and had a very good meal. It was happy hour and got a reasonable Margarita and beer along with some good mini tacos. I got the beef fajita and shrimp enchilada which was very tasty; beef was tender. My wife got the jalapeno cheese chicken enchilada and the poblano cream chicken enchilada and liked it very much. Service was very good...great locals place that we will make a regular stop.

Great Fajitas

By Debbie M |

Enjoyed beef fajitas, the meat was tender and seasoned well. Loved the beans. Fresh tortillas. Server was very good.

Wonderful food and drink

By Kenneth B |

I am fairly critical when it comes to these reviews but this place is great. Really good food. The drinks are good but like everything else in San Antonio expensive.

Good Mexican food and the price is reasonable...

By JOHN H |

We live in the area and usually go there for breakfast. The breakfast tacos are great. I have been there for lunch a few times, as well. People visiting for the first time are always pleased. The prices are affordable, as well.

Delicious and NOT the same old, standard, Mexican fare you get elsewhere

By Helene B |

A short walk from the Riverwalk (take a bit of a side detour walk through the historic King William neighborhood on your way), this restaurant was recommended to us by the Briscoe Museum. What a find it was for us. Delicious food, large portions. Simplly decorated. Great service and delicious food. Fish Tacos and creamy cilantro enchiladas, wonderful chips and hot salsa! You won't be disappointed.

Riverwalk Dinner

By JAG1195 |

Stumbled upon this place just off of the riverwalk. The prices along with the quality and quantity coupled by friendly serve is quite appealing. On one side of the restaurant is a bar showing sports channel while the other is open seating for dining. I would come back again and recommend this place to others.

Excellent Food, Salsa, and Service

By snowhobbit62 |

Great Mexican food close to the Alamo in San Antonio. The service was fast and friendly. The food was good and serving size was large. Our waiter Christopher was very attentive and went above and beyond to make our dinner enjoyable.

Excellent food

By JJV |

Our hotel had recommended this place for great food since the restaurants at the riverwalk were so packed. The food and service were excellent. We want to go back and try more.

Best dinner ever

By Jim D |

Best Mexican food we’ve ever had. Period. Great part of town. Fun area. Service is outstanding and the margaritas are excellent! Cannot wait for my next trip to SA so I can go back.

Best restaurant in San Antonio

By Kelselyn M |

Jalapeño enchiladas. Cannot get enough!! Food comes fast and staff is always kind. Nobody else compete s

Great Vibe

By Swilde6 |

Had a great dinner at the bar. I had the creamy jalapeno enchiladas that were amazing, normally I dont car for cream sauces. Lots of locals in the bar. I will be back.

Great enchiladas

By Bob0360 |

We had the New Mexico and the Cilantro Crema enchiladas, both plates done very well with fantastic flavor. Quick, courteous service. Nice residential/business location within walking distance of downtown and a short distance off the river walk.

Lucky find at 8:30 on a Tuesday

By Jackie P |

Great food—off the beaten path—local hangout-definitely going back for bananas. Good service—margaritas a little sweet for my taste

Come here instead of Riverwalk

By lqs |

Were in town visiting and wanted tacos. Everything at the Riverwalk was so touristy, dirty and just didn't have a good vibe. Ended up finding Tito's and so glad we did. MUCH better than the Riverwalk area and just a short drive down the road. Super cute little shop in cute area. We sat outside since that table opened first(about 15 min wait). Waitress was really nice. Had originally come here b/c they said on the phone they have gluten-free and soy-free options for tacos/beans. Once there we realized they could do gluten-free but soy-free was a problem as everything was marinated. (fyi - in CA the carnitas is always just pork/spices/lard but guess they don't serve that in TX) They ended up being super helpful and grilling up a chicken breast and putting in taco shells with a side salad for my son and I did a chicken taco salad, which were both really really delicious. The chicken was SO good! The salsa was really great as well. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for tasty Mexican food in the area.

Great flavor

By bittenby |

Now I know why folks say the Mexican food is better in Texas. Although the dishes looked familiar, the blend of spices and how the food was cooked made this delicious. The dining room feels more like an open cafe, but the prices reflect that.

Fantastic Restaurant

By Lynn T |

This is truly a gem, the chefs cilantro enchiladas are delicious, the food was so good we ate there twice in 2 days, very clean and friendly staff, the tortillas are home made and just couldnt get enough of the great food, this restaurant is definitely worth trying

Yummy

By Gina R |

Titos was great! Very reasonable prices. Menu had lots of things that sounded good. I Had the chicken enchilada with cilantro creme sauce, it was amazing!! Husband had the carne asada and said it was good.

Dinner

By cstayedatcoolsprings |

This is the heart of the King William district. Not fancy just a warm welcome feeling. I had the enchiladas. They were great. The homemade corn tortillas are a must. The server was friendly and attentive. Great local restaurant. Limited parking

Great great great!

By Novus37 |

We were referred to Tito’s by Homer, who works down on the River Walk for Marriott hooking people up with time share resort tours. He said it’s where the locals go and not to let its non fancy appearance dissuade us. What a great recommendation for dinner! We loved it! We enjoyed authentic -yes, authentic- Mexican food at very reasonable prices. The food was all homemade and very good flavors. The mole sauce is to die for!! Our server just started working there a few days ago and he’s gonna do very well. He was super personable and gave us great info when we asked about things to see in the area and in Texas. Whatever he didn’t know about the menu items that we asked, he promptly went and found out accurately for us. Great service! See what I mean? Great great great!

Tito’s

By GSP_Mom |

Stopped by for lunch, no wait for a table. Menus are accessed by QR code. Salsa is a bit spicy. Very friendly and fast service with a diverse clientele. My son had the mini tacos al pastor and I had the chicken fajita quesadilla. Not much “fajita “ , mainly chicken and cheese. Guac is DELICIOUS. Did not have a margarita.

This Place Amazes Me

By BritBell13 |

I love this place. Providing some of the best Mexican food you could ever eat, Tito's in San Antonio serves some of the most delectable and affordable meals in the city. I ordered the deluxe meal, which comes with a cheese enchilada, a beef taco, and a tostada. Everything tasted extraordinarily fresh and vibrant. I could have been full and I would have devoured the lunch I received at Tito's. The rice tastes amazing. The beans taste amazing. The chips and salsa taste amazing. Visit here. Eat here. Fall in love with Tito's Restaurant Y Cantina.

This was a well reviewed restaurant

By Dhplad1 |

This was a well reviewed restaurant in yelp and boy did it deliver! The sangria margaritas were fantastic and the shrimp totstada and tacos al carbon were delicious! Even the boracho beans we the best, thank you for a fantastic meal in these Covid times!

This SOUP!!!

By Sloan C |

By far the absolute best tortilla soup that I have ever had. Everything was great, the staff was so nice, wonderful drinks.

Elvis strikes again

By L C |

We dropped in to try some authentic mexican food and were greeted by the really loud Elvis impersonator across the street. So free entertainment. We had the place pretty much to ourselves. We ordered the flautas and carne guisado. The salsa was nice and had a little kick to it, not overly spicy but it left an impression. The servers were attentive and left us pretty much alone except for when we needed refills. The flautas were done just right, the carne was really beefy so it was tasty. The refried beans were luke warm and a little runny but had a good flavor. Parking is a challenge, we circled the block about 5 times before we settled on a spot about a block away. The food is worth the visit.

Saturday nite

Great place for dinner and drinks. Service was excellent, almost a little too fast. Cilantro enchiladas are the bomb. Healthy portions and amazing salsa. Best meal in weeks!

Best Mexican Food

By Mary S |

The food was amazing. I had the enchiladas and my husband had the Mexican combo. The staff were kind and knowledgeable. Actually our guide Angel from our bus tour recommended this restaurant. The wait was about 20 minutes and it was loud but taking into consideration that it was a Friday night. I will eat there again on our next visit to San Antonio.

Great food and friendly service.

By mbgall |

We were in town for a convention and wanted to avoid crowds and have a more authentic food experience. This local joint was recommended by a doorman and was within walking distance of our hotel. The people there couldn't have been nicer. The margaritas were delicious and the food was good too. My only criticism is that the shrimp in my dish (enchiladas) were those little ones that were possibly from frozen. That being said, everything else about the meal was good. My friend had ceviche tostadas and that was absolutely a better choice. The waiter went out of his way to get a server who knew more about the King William district to come by and share some facts. And we had a fabulous (and simple) dessert of sopapillas. The dessert and the drinks alone were worth the ridiculously reasonable prices. If you are in town and want to get a little off the Riverwalk beaten track, try Titos!

Really Good Tex Mex

By docwhiteaustin |

Good Food. About ten of us enjoyed a nice dinner, ordering a large cross section of menu items. Tasty enchiladas, quesadillas, nachos, tacos, Carne guisada, and lots of margaritas! Friendly service and reasonable prices. Very good and close to downtown, King William district, but not too 'touristy" like mediocre Food on Riverwalk. Very comfortable and relaxed.

Worth Checking Out

By vpaylor |

Had the Baja Fish Tacos for dinner, fish was cooked to the point of of being crunchy on the outside and too much sauce. Wife had the puffy tacos, one beef & one chicken and said they were good. So I guess it depends on what you order. The beans & rice were good. Drinks were good but quite expensive, airport expensive.

Average food with sulky staff

By The_Italian_Reviewer |

I went to Tito's because of the many good reviews and while the food (asada tacos and margarita) was average, the place looks dirty and the waiter who helped me looked like he really did not want to be there. His name is J.D. and I hope he will soon find what he wants to do, because servicing customers is not. Was there for business so I won't go back to this place, might have been a different experience with different staff maybe.

Food good facilities bad

By Thomas G |

Waiter was good kept up with all assigned tables. Prices on the menu were affordable. For Saturday night the food was prompt , hot and very tasty. TITOS UNISEX BATHROOM. The owners should be ashamed of themselves. This bathroom was very unpleasant. The floor was wet and dirty. The toilet seat was not secure. There was minimal lighting where is the toilet was located. The toilet paper holder was too far from the toilet and a whole roll was wet. Customers came out of the bathroom shaking their head like they could not believe the condition of this bathroom. I have seen cleaner bathrooms at gas stations. I suggest that you correct this problem before The sanitation department comes by before your next health inspection

Good Nachos! But otherwise okay.

By Jack H |

Went on a Friday night and the place was pretty busy. The nachos were good and the service at the bar was pretty good. Everyone was pretty nice also. Margaritas let a lot to be desired. Not much flavor and frozen too hard. Probably won't go back here again in the future.

Lunch was muy bueno

By Texmarc |

Went here for lunch at the recommendation of our son who lives in the neighborhood. Riots is a low key cafe divided into a nice size dining room and a bar. We ordered queso which was nice with large chunks of tomato and Chile's. My wife and I both ordered tacos al carbon with a small bowl borracho beans. When it came the plate has four small corn tortillas covered by a generous portion of spicy diced beef. To the side were lime, cilantro, and diced onion. It was good and very satisfying. Our son ordered an enchilada plate with an assortment of three different enchiladas. I tried the mole' and it was spicy with a hint of sweetness, also very good. Tucked away in the Southtown/King Wilhelm district, this is a nice change to the Riverwalk frenzy of tourists. Not as upscale as Rosarios, it doesn't carry the upscale price. I would recommend this one to anyone looking for some good Mexican cuisine.

Very interesting new place

By Debra M |

Had a wonderful time here with friends. Food is very fresh and they try use local sources for all their vendors. We had the steak fajita quesadilla with habernero cream and salsa.

Nice location, food and value

By _K6946GX |

Service was great and the food tasted excellent. Not too far from Alamo, but price was very reasonable. Nice place to be at lunch.

One of the best Mexican in San Antonio which makes it top 10 in the world.

By Robert G |

One of the best Mexican Restaurants in San Antonio which makes it top 10 in the world. If you like local this does not get any better. They have the bast chips and salsa with margaritas and the selection of Tex/Mex dishes are superb. You can find many other Tex/Mex restaurant here in San Antonio but this is the real deal. A little off the beaten path and looks on the outside a little run down but this is where locals eat and is in the very top level of San Antonio Tex/Mex.

Great vibe and chips and salsa

By msa23_2000 |

This place is just a little outside of downtown so has a local, not tourist vibe. The service is outstanding and the chips and salsa are something I will remember and would come back for - just for them. My entree, the puffy tacos were just ok. I wanted to give this place 5 starts because everything else was great. I’ll have to come back and try a different entree.

Best Mexican food ever!

By GregMerlyn |

Absolutely amazing. Don't let the casaul atmosphere fool you, this is some of the best Mexican food ever and I eat it a lot. Best queso in the world, get it with the picadillo. Huge house margaritas are potent and well made and the Mai Tais are on point, too. Enchilada Verdes shine and the steak tacos with fresh cilantro and onions are terrific. Rice and refried beans are standard in a good way, but the get the charro beans, you'll thank me. Our third time back, we go every time we are in town and service is always informal but impeccable. Enjoy!

Great Neighborhood Eats

By G3338HWdavidp |

We recently visited the San Antonio area and we're looking for "local" Mexican eats. Tito's was recommended to us. After reading some of the reviews on TripAdvisor, we had some concerns. We went anyway. We did have to wait 10-15 minutes to get seated, but that's just fine. Our waitress was new, but she was very friendly, knew the menu, and did a great job for us. The food was served quickly. It was hot and the taste was excellent. All of us had some form of enchilada, some with white sauce and some with red. All of the food was great. Yes, the place could use some sprucing up, but it didn't bother us at all. The food was hot, the drinks were cold and we had a great time. Some of the notables. The tortillas were fresh and hot and were excellent. Some of the best I've had in a long time. Of course, when eating Mexican food, it is mandatory to have a good tortilla. We ordered the sopapilla's which came with a caramel dipping sauce. They were excellent again. They were light, flakey, and didn't last very long at our table. So, if you're looking for a great, local neighborhood Mexican place in San Antonio, please give Tito's a try.

Where The Locals Eat Breakfast

By Bruce W |

We stayed in an Airbnb in the King William Historical District just a couple blocks from Tito's Mexican Restaurant. We tried it for breakfast one morning and loved it. Excellent food, excellent coffee and friendly and helpful staff. We noticed everyone else in the restaurant seemed to be a local resident - a good sign! We loved it so much We went back one day in the afternoon for coffee, sopapillas and then margaritas during happy hour. Their dinner menu looks great but we didn't have time to return for dinner.

Not as good as overall rating

By Beachluvinfamily |

I would say that this restaurant is ok,but not great in terms of food or prices. Service was ok to fair so I cannot recommend.

Authentic mexican!

By Stan & Denise P |

What a great find! The food was very good and reasonably priced. The margaritas were great. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating, especially for a very busy night. Would definitely go back here again!

Margarita Up!

By Crusinqueen1027 |

Tacos, Margarita's, and awesome service. I loved the Mango Chamoy Margarita. It's funny that it was just by chance that we found this gem. My best friend and I were walking down Alamo St when we smelt the goodness coming from Tito's. I did notice that they don't have much parking but thank goodness we didn't have to worry about parking! However, dontet that stop you!

My staple every week!

By Kelselyn M |

Best Mexican in San Antonio. (Rosario's, who?) Get Jalapeno cream enchiladas- you won't be disappointed!

Food served cold, not tasty - dinner

By RatherNotSay |

My plate arrived with the food not at room temperature but a little on the cold side. Contemplated sending it back. My partner's food was made and served in a good presentation. I won't return.

My favorite meal of the trip

By Jon S |

We recently had an evening where we were to find our own dinner. After having had a couple of mediocre meals, I was in desperate need of a great Mexican meal (after going without for 6 weeks). I read the multiple Yelp reviews of Tito's and looked it up on the map. Only .8 miles away from my location. I was in. I walked down to it and enjoyed the neighborhood that it was in. I sat myself and was given a menu fairly rapidly. I ordered an iced tea and was served that fairly quickly. The iced tea was the low point of the meal. Very weak, not great flavor. I ordered the chicken guisado sopes. It came with rice and beans. The rice and beans were great. I usually grade my Mexican restaurants by the quality of their rice and beans. Right to the top of the list. My sopes were even better. They were super fresh corn cakes, exactly the right thickness for me. The chicken guisada couldn't have been prepared any better. The flavor was outstanding. The chicken was very moist and lots of it. Way more than I had anticipated. They were topped with crema, cilantro, and onions. The proportions of the toppings was spot on. It really tied everything together. I can't wait to return to this spot in the future with my wife to share it with her. This will be my first stop in San Antonio in the future.

Just What You Are Looking For...

By Texman1313 |

Mexican food should have fresh ingredients and be served in a nice setting. Tito's provides all that and more. I was there for lunch so I can't comment on the Cantina or the quality of the margaritas. but the food is good at a good price. Speed is also important at lunch, and they delivered on that criteria as well.

Quick lunch, quick service

By Texmarc |

Stopped by for a quick Friday lunch. The main dining room was closed, but bar seating was available. Ordered soft tacos with picadillo rice and beans. Every thing was fine, but nothing stood out as great. The price is reasonable, the atmosphere is Southtown relaxed. Will I go back? Sure because sometimes you just want something simple.

Not fancy but good

By travgal0766 |

Enjoyed our meal here for an early dinner. Service was friendly and quick. We had tacos and enchiladas, both very good. Food was hot and freshly prepared. They have a full bar and several dinner specials. Parking was a bit difficult- we had to drive around the block and park in the residential area- I guess most patrons arrive on foot! Would eat here again.

Service was great, fast and food was tasty

By Stephanie A. |

The service was kind and fast. The cilantro enchiladas and the poblano enchiladas were super good. The mole enchiladas had a great taste as well.

Yum!

By Otospup |

Great menu, nice variety. Food was good, lots of flavor. We ate breakfast, lunch & dinner there. Lunch service was not as good as dinner

Great Food, Reasonable Prices

By Buenoman58 |

Don’t let the old grocery store appearance scare you away. The place is clean and tidy and the food is excellent.

Mediocre at Best

By Storyteller483154 |

We made the walk to Titos for brunch and were very disappointed. We ordered the huevos rancheros (which didn't come with any ranchero sauce - just eggs over medium) and chilaquilles. The potatoes were frozen potatoes that had been skillet fried and were completely tasteless. The salsa is "meh" at best and does not taste homemade. The one good thing were the corn tortillas. They were soft and very flavorful. The margaritas are made with a mix. Yuck! The service was really slow and our server was completely inattentive. We are easygoing, not hard-to-please restaurant goers...but this experience left us unsatisfied and certain never to return again.

Authentic

By podunk13 |

Many choices in this authentic, no frills hideaway. My husband had chicken tacos and I had chicken fajitas, which were outstanding. The salsa was fresh and because we make our own, we knew it was fresh. Reasonably priced and generous amounts. The wait staff friendly and attentive! Shout out and thanks to Jaun, our waiter!

Much at Tito’s!

By Tina H |

A table for 15 please. Tito’s San Antonio accommodated quickly(walk in sit down) and the food was abundant, delicious and fast!!

Blue Corn Tortilla's

By Jensoid |

When a local points you in the direction of Tito's, one must obey. I'm sure glad we did. Unfortunately we didn't stay long enough to sample all the wonderful food on offer. We sat up at the bar as we do and Francisco was quick to welcome us and to inquire as to what we would like to start off with. Double Barrel Frozen Marg for the misses $16 and a large Modelo for $4. Perfect for the 10 plus degree day. The misses loves Blue Corn Tortilla's so that started off the Queso Flameado $8.99 with torts, chips and salsa. My word, excellent. So much so, I got a big 16oz cup of their salsa to-go $7.99. Noshing through those we were entertained by chatty regulars as well as Francisco who chimed in from time to time. Staying on the theme of Blue Corn tortillas, we opted for the Azul Taco's Al Carbon $14.99. I have to give some big shout outs to the kitchen here since these were seasoned well and delicious. The Blue Tort's were so good as a wrap for the Al Carbon. The menu options were deep and the Albondigas looked a must have on our next visit. They also have many options for Margarita's which looks perfect for a lazy, late afternoon boozy lunch uber combo.

Absolutely amazing. Go visit at once. Gustavo at the bar is great. Amazing food. Amazing service

By david h |

Great spot on the Southside. Authentic food and great service. Sit at the bar and ask for Gustavo. Ranchero steak, puffy tacos, sopapillas. This place has it all.

Average but great prices

By 12345MN |

Stopped for breakfast and both of us ordered Huevos Rancheros. The taste and presentation were average. We ordered extra pico de gallo and it didn’t have anything fresh, no cilantro - almost seemed out of a can. The service was very attentive and the prices were modest.

Local Tex Mex

By John M |

We ate after arriving from Dallas. Late lunch. Staff is super friendly and attentive. Food is straight up Tex Mex. The aside tacos were great and the enchiladas were too. Go with margarita with grapefruit soda in it and the Presidente. The Presidente was awesome. Because we were there at a "down" time, the staff alternated between helping us and c leaning up for Friday night service. As someone who has worked in service industry, this did not bother me, but I can understand people being put off by employees mopping while guests are eating. Several families with children and several local were eating.

Not like the Riverwalk (and that's a good thing)

By eimimathetes |

When I visit a city, I prefer to eat where/what the residents eat. In San Antonio, Tito's is the kind of place to which I am drawn. We found Tito's by accident, a fortuitous accident. The food here is delicious and the menu transcends the (same old) familiar selections available at a thousand other Mexican restaurants. About a 15 to 20 minute stroll from the heart of the Riverwalk, the diners at Tito's resemble the population of the city more than the tourist crowds.I don't know what to suggest on the menu only because everything we had was delicious. If you are more of a traveler or explorer, you will prefer Tito's to the more well-known, popular options.

Great Meal

By Rocky N S |

Tito’s is in the neighborhood where we are staying for our winter vacation. It was a recommendation from some locals that we met on our San Antonio travels. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. My wife got one of the specials; seafood enchiladas and fajita. Full stomach plate! I had the creamed cilantro enchiladas plate, just right, since I have a low tolerance for spicy-hot food. We can see why locals like this place - family friendly or just eating out with friends. A great place.

Not to be missed

By anirams12 |

One of my favorites. Everything is good, flavorful, good value. Not your usual greasy Mexican food. Sangria is excellent, too.

Amazed it's still in business

By SonnyBeach1 |

Had been disappointed on several occasions a few years ago and would not have returned but it was the only area option for Mexican food in the area one night during the Christmas holidays. Enchiladas were supposed to come with chili con carne on top....was barely a spoon of gravy. Enchiladas were rubbery, cheese was tepid.....the chips for the table were semi-stale....my wife's enchiladas poblanos were also a bust. We won't try it again.

Great Mexican food

By summersailor1 |

Downtown San Antonio location. We really enjoyed the mango margaritas! Everything we had was excellent!

A local favorite.

By TexasHula |

We are local to San Antonio and Tito's is very high on our list of best places to eat. Excellent breakfast, lunch and dinner. On the edge of the King William district, you can walk/driver to see the fantastic historical homes after a great meal.

Venture off the Riverwalk

By Karin V |

Wanting a more local food experience than what the Riverwalk offers, we ventured out and ended up eating 2 of 4 dinners at Tito’s. We agree with the chef’s favorite, Cilantro Cream Enchiladas, crazy good. House-made corn tortillas were the best I’ve ever had. Chocolate flan cake, my favorite; fresh churros, everyone else’s fave. Servers are attentive, kind and genuine. From our Riverwalk hotel, Tito’s was an easy 15min walk. Both times we didn’t wait at all to sit. We will recommend to anyone visiting the Riverwalk.

BYOC&O

By Sa Rios |

Bring Your Own Cilantro & Onion. Tisk-tisk for charging for these two items. I ordered one barbacoa on corn tortilla. The extra charges of .25 for cilantro and .89 for onion is not the norm for vast majority of mexican restaurants. Taco was good. Wait staff was good.

Reasonable and Authentic

By NVP P |

I would highly recommend this place for authentic mexican food. Everything on the me nu looked excellent. Our personal favorite was the Cilantro Cream Enchiladas, Monster Chicken Burrito and the Vegetariana Quesadilla. We were so glad we did not eat on the river walk and eat here. The prices are very reasonable and our wait staff Aviana M was personable.

Good food in a Hip neighborhood

By bschraitle |

Tito's has been around for about 13 years. I used to go when they first opened because I worked close by. But I haven't been in years. I decided to try it again. I was pleasantly surprised. The food was actually very good and fresh. I had the tacos al pastor and they tasted like they were right off the street in Mexico City. They even had pineapple in them which is authentic but seldom seen here in San Antonio. The enchiladas in any of the cream sauces (cilantro, habenero, etc.) are also outstanding. You should give this place a try. It's located in "South Town" a hip neighborhood just south of Downtown. It's a lot like the La Condesa neighborhood in Mexico City.

Great Mexican Food

By pumpkin1062 |

My husband and I went there last night and it was wonderful. We both had the poblano cream sauce chicken enchiladas with white cheese. They were great. Lots of chicken. Matthew R was our server, and he was the best we have had in a long time. The menu is huge so much to choose from. One of the best Mexican food restaurants in San Antonio if not the best.

A must have!!!

By Angel L |

I have been going to Tito’s for years with my friends and family and they always sit us down fast . The food is always delicious the service is always good the margaritas are off the chain voted best margaritas in San Antonio I love everything about this place . True Tex Mex food .

Would go back

By Melissa |

Decided to try this place based off its location to our Airbnb & the reviews on Trip Advisor, it did not disappoint. Had a combo which consisted of chicken flauta, pichadillo gordita and taco - all was amazing. Came with flour tortillas which my dtr used to eat the extra carnita meat from her dinner. Service was great, prices very reasonable - would go back again.

Loved it !!!

By smartc1969 |

A group of us from Maine were in San Antonio for a conference. The Riverwalk was fun for the first couple of days but we all agreed that we would rather eat and hang out in a local and "off the beaten path" place away from the tourist hustle and bustle. This place was a find....a true gem of San Antonio. It was a little over a half a mile walk but so worth it. Leo was our server..... great personality and great service all rolled into one. He's the best. There were 8 of us and we all raved about our food. Excellent food at an excellent price. We found this place by looking on trip advisor and are all so glad that we ventured away from the tourist area and experienced such great authentic Mexican food and exceptional service!

Give it a try ...

By Bryan H |

Went twice for dinner during a recent visit to San Antonio. First night I had the veggie enchiladas. They were good. The business gives you free chips and salsa, which I appreciate. Service was quick and friendly both nights. For the second dinner, I ordered veggie quesadillas. Not nearly as good as the enchiladas. Also ordered a mango-rita, which was O.K., but nothing to write home about. Overall, food is basic and comfort-oriented rather than gourmet. Has a neighborhood vibe about it that I liked. Would go again if I was in town.

Try Tito's

By michael j |

While visiting San Antonio for the first time since the pandemic, I went searching for our favorite Mexican restaurant. I found it... Closed for good! So, we went driving through the neighborhood looking for another spot. Tito's appeared out of the window so, I sad "Why not a new place"? The chips and salsa were excellent! Wonderful, crunchy San Antonio style chips. My daughter had chicken quesadilla and I had a chicken torta. As you might note from my other reviews, I travel to Mexico regularly. Tito's is authentic! Both my daughter and I loved it... There is a full bar which, I did not try; I had ice tea. The service was relaxed. This is not a negative comment. It was nice to not feel rushed. When we noticed several police officers and military personnel enjoying Tito's along with us, we knew the food would be good! Prices are reasonable. Street parking was OK. I am going back to Tito's with more friends and family.

Fantastic local experience

By Irene R |

So this is not a fancy place - this is a local and authentic neighborhood experience. Shrimp enchiladas were delicious as were the stake fajitas. We enjoyed the walk there from the hotel.

Unexpected take on typical Mexican food

By Mia W |

We came in looking for a hidden gem of authentic Mexican food. The food here is a bit different than typical hole in the wall Mexican fare. Chips and salsa were delicious and picosa. The flautas and the gorditas were delicious. The fideo comes with picadillo in it, a bit unexpected but not bad. The enchiladas were disappointing. Service was quick and friendly.

Desent Menu, Generous Drinks

By 60DayTour |

First taste of SA local food. Good food, great drinks. Outdoor seating was great with a nice breeze before the heat of the day.

Weekend getaway

By canchjn |

Our server was excellent. The salsa was great, the chips taste very much like Tostitos. The queso was bland, Tortillas were delicious, beef & chicken fajitas, rice, and refried beans were pretty good. Jalepeno enchiladacream sauce is yummy but the shredded chicken tastes like out of a can.

Great Place!!

By mrkputter1 |

We are here last night and it was great! Food prepared great and fresh!! Drinks were spot on as well!! Great little place off the beaten path!!

Great Food, Reasonable Prices

A fantastic accidental stop

By Melissa C |

We were actually on our way to another restaurant and drove by. So glad we turned around! So good! The fresh home made corn tortillas were excellent. The entire meal was delicious. My husband ordered something different and loved his too!

Ignored waiting to get a table

By burroughsfarmsgirl |

Ignored waiting to get a table for an inordinate amount of time on a Tuesday night. Food was ok. My husband liked the non-tourist atmosphere. Our waitress was attentive but overworked.

Lunch in San Antonio

By Annette S |

Excellent food, excellent service. Highly recommended if you are looking for a local joint and off the beaten path of the city. Right beside the hop on hop off stop. Prices are very very reasonable.

Great service!

By Amanda R |

We went and had a low-frills dinner. The food was really good, just not the best Mexican/Southwest we’ve had. The mole and refried beans were fantastic, and our server was amazing! Fairly low prices were a bonus.

Disappointed

By Blubusdrvr |

I ordered the blue corn tortilla tacos. They were ok. Dry is the word I would use to describe them. I think I was more surprised that the chips were basically Tostitos out of a bag. I expected some fresh chips to go with the salsa . Salsa was good. Guacamole was good as well. To sum it up I was disappointed. I’ll probably pick somewhere else next time.

Love the enchiladas

By Gina M |

We ate here twice during our San Antonio vacation. Highly recommend. The enchiladas are amazing!!! Flavorful. Service was great.

Found a Gem by accident

By Rich C |

We were headed to another place for breakfast and drive by this place and decided to stop. It was awesome, best Mexican breakfast I've ever had. Check it out.

Weekend stop

By fourpinas |

Stopped in in a Sunday afternoon. Cute atmosphere and food was good. Tastes like homemade south Texas Tex-mex. likes enchilada poblanos and enchilada con creama. Had a nice bar area also. If your in the area- nice stop. Good for families.

Good food, good service, but...

By broncofan1 |

Went for breakfast, place was busy and loud. Service was good and the food was served fast. Quality of the food is excellent and the prices are terrific. Tasty, but our server forgot our chips, my tortillas and my wife's ham. We were seated at a window table and I checked out the floor under the window and the window sill and the dirt, dust and crud was horrible. I know it's old, but that's no reason not to be clean. Spend an hour or two with some Clorox.

Delicious All Around

By Maura H |

We enjoyed our lunchtime meal! It was affordable, we had good chips and salsa brought right away. I ordered the puffy chicken tacos, they were delicious. We also ordered sopapillas that were great! We enjoyed watching people pass by and people from the area also ate there.

Margarita and Dinner

By Donna E |

Other Tex-Mex restaurants will disappoint you after you visit Tito’s - the friendliest staff, the tastiest margaritas, and the most delicious food are here! Order a mango ‘rita to enjoy with your tortilla chips and outstanding house-made salsa, then order anything on the menu. It’s all fantastico!

Yummy Breakfast

By HermanTheGerman-inTX |

This is THE place to get a great breakfast after a nice long morning walk along the river and through the King William neighborhood. Good size portions, tasty dishes, friendly services, reasonably prized.

Two Words- PUFFY TACOS

By Sara F |

We took an Uber from the RiverWalk to Tito's on Thanksgiving eve. We got there early and were able to sit inside, comfortably spaced from other diners. My boys ordered enchiladas which were fantastic. The house salsa was spicy but none of us could stop eating it. And the PUFFY TACOS- a deep fried tortilla- like a sopapilla- filled with shredded chicken and veg- were OTHER WORDLY. We will be talking about San Antonio and Tito's and Puffy Tacos for many months to come. Muchisimas Gracias!

Family trip with grandchildren.

By Linda W |

Food was very good and plentiful. Staff was cheerful. And about a 15 minute wait but well worth it. Parking was a big problem for a Saturday night. We should’ve gotten Uber. Also, only one bathroom for both genders.

Awesome food and good prices

By kellitrevino |

the food was really good here and next time I am back in San Antonio I will eat here again. The prices are very reasonable too.

Best Tex Mex

By Ellen L |

I have been coming here for over 10 years since this place first opened. They have expanded the bar side and menu changes all the time. This is still the best casual Tex mex food in San Antonio. It can get busy over the weekend so be prepared to wait. Try the enchiladas and their caldo.

Walked here from downtown.

By corthay |

Walked here from downtown. Nice restaurant with good food at a reasonable price. Two mini taco plates and a server that really cared about providing good service. Would definitely recommend a return visit.

Awesome mexican food

By Jeff D |

The food is tasty, the service and ambiance is excellent. It's not over the top, simple dishes and the price is fair.

wow... Looks awful from outside.. But WOWZA

By Eric W |

We went here over spring break. So very tasty and friendly servers. Happy hour is amazing. The $5 nachos were enough to feed 2 people with leftovers. The mini tacos... wow... all I can say a must order. I will go here everytime I visit.

Didn't live up to its ratings

By dskid |

I'm not sure why this place is rated so highly on TA. We were there for dinner during the men's basketball Final Four. We were going to eat at the highly rated BBQ restaurant across the street but they'd already sold out of everything but the sausage. Tito's wasn't crowded and we were seated immediately - that should have told me something. The bar menu had draft beers in 16 and 20 ounces. I ordered the 20 ounce size and the waitress came back and said that they were only serving the 16 ounce size - huh? They were touting the homemade pazole and it wasn't even on the menu so I decided to try it. It did have some big chunks of ham but very few beans and the broth wasn't great. I live in the KC metro area and I think I can get better Mexican food here than I've had in San Antonio. I also got a chicken enchilada and it was overcooked. My wife ordered the chili con queso and it was good, though just served barely warm. We were given chips and salsa but the salsa was fiery hot, though it had a nice flavor. Service was okay except for when it was time to pay. Thanks for reading. If you’ve found this helpful I’ll appreciate a thumbs up below.

Really Good Mexican Food for Breakfast

By Arnie M |

This is a great little restaurant in the King Wilhelm district, recommended by a friend who lives there. Breakfast tacos are $1.49 (3 for $3.75)! You don't need three - they're big. If you want to go to a truly local place, this is a good one. We were staying on the riverwalk and walked to Titos, met our friend who took us on a walking tour of the King Wilhelm district. This is an old German neighborhood of very interesting 19th century houses which are slowly being rebuilt with families moving in on a regular basis. We walked out there on the streets and walked back on the riverwalk - it reaches out quite a ways...

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE: Food, service, and price!

Tito’s was fantastic. I had the Espinacas con Pollo Burrito. My wife had the Pollo Guisado Taco Plate. DELICIOUS! And very easy on the wallet given the quality of the food!! Also, must mention the exceptional service! Rolando was obviously very busy, yet always attentive and courteous. This place is slightly off the Riverwalk, but absolutely worth the Uber (had a nice walk back to the hotel). PS - casual place. No need to dress up.

Very authentic Mexican

My son took us here while taking a break from Fiesta. There was a more Limited Menu that usual because of the crowds but plenty of great choices. I had enchiladas verdes which had a lot of chicken and pretty flavorful, but mild sauce. I should have asked for more sauce. My wife had cilantro cream enchiladas and said they were too good to share! I would come again

BEST Breakfast!

Very good! This was a short walk from our accommodations, so strolled over through the lovely King William neighborhood. It has a well deserved reputation for very authentic Mexican, as we soon found out. The ambiance is a bit lacking, and it’s kind of short on decor, but …. We were seated on the bar side of the restaurant, and it was pretty apparent this is also very much a local establishment, as we watched people greeting each other and the staff as they came and went. Anyway, I digress. The menu is very extensive, so it was difficult to make a choice. Anyways, settled on crisp grilled pork chops with guacamole, and they were very good, nicely crisped but still nice and moist. She had enchiladas with poblano sauce and she raved about how good they were. Both meals were generously sized, so, of corse, no room for dessert. Definitely recommend you stopping in here.
