We had made a reservation for 245, and waited in line for an hour even with the reservation. Don’t waste your time in the park waiting for food. I cannot tell you of the food is any good as we waited forever

Went to Universal Hollywood for Fan Fest Nights and it was our (4) first time at Super Nintendo World. I was able to grab a 8:45 pm reservation at around 6:30pm. Got in after riding Mario Kart at around 9pm, made around a 15 min wait for the waiter. Had a couple issues trying to get seats since we were a bit of a larger group but staff were able to accomodate. Ordered the mushroom soup, Mario & Luigi's Burgers and the fettuccine, along with some coffees and sodas and the tiramisu dessert. Total at around $105. Food was good! Chicken was juicy and the mushroom soup was better than we expected. For the price and the convenience of not having to get dinner elsewhere it was good for the LA area. I've spent more on worse. Theming was great had to wait about 20 mins to get our food and everything went well. The only issue we encountered was not getting a box for our mushroom bowl, I had to go back to the cashiers and ask several waiters about it until a busboy told me to get it from the front of the building. Had to wait around the area as the lines for ordering were quite long, quickly had to request a box and received it. All in all, food was good, service was good, and would probably eat here again if returning to Universal. Also shout out to Israel for being a great host and waiter!

The theming is so good here. You feel like you are in the games, down to the food. We ordered the Fireball Pasta and the Flag Cake. The pasta was good, but rather spicy. If you don't like spicy foods, it's not for you (order the kid's meal instead). The cake was delicate and flavorful, except for the matcha layer, which was hardly noticable.

This cafe went above and beyond for our family! It was the best experience for our family of 7, one being a disabled child in a wheelchair. I would highly recommend this cafe! Thank you to the staff for an unforgettable experience! Fyi, the mushroom soup is amazing!

Everything inside is cute. It makes you feel that you are really dining in Mushroom Kingdom with Toads. The food actually taste ok. The mushroom soup, fire spaghetti and burgers are all decent. The only thing that is bad is the service. It took a good 30 mins before the food comes out. The services and the cashiers are not that friendly. All items in there are pricey and you would expcect a ore friendly service but unfortunately it is not. Getting a reservation is hard. You will need to keep trying early in the morning. Recommending going there for the experience minuses the service.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and experience at Toad Stool Cafe. I’ll be honest though, it’s a long wait, despite having a reservation. You line up at your reservation time to get in, you go in and lineup to order food (fast food style), you then lineup to get seated at a table. Once at the table, relax and enjoy the quirks of the restaurant while you wait for your food!

Food was ok if a bit pricey. Nicely themed. Massive wait even with a reservation, One turtle looking guy even attacked the restaurant in a flying pirate ship during our meal - clearly desperate to cut the queue.

We did not score a reservation our first day entering Mario World. But we had early access the next day and were able to get a lunch reservation. The lines were long to enter to order our food. And the line to get seated was also long. It was chaotic inside. I had the Mushroom Soup which had a souvenir bowl—costing $19. My Tiramisu came out late. It looked like they ran out of Tiramisu and made a large batch—many of us were waiting for our dessert. My soup and dessert were quite pricey but delicious. It looked like the cafe was understaffed. I saw the same lady at the register also taking a turn bussing the tables—maybe they rotate positions. The atmosphere inside was very noisy.

Ok so this place is a ridiculous place for prices and the orders take around 45 mins to come out. But again, its a theme park. Its always expensive. The tomato soup and the tiramisu was amazinggggg

Universal Studios Hollywood has truly out done itself with Toadstool Cafe at Super Nintendo World. Toadstool Cafe is a signature quick-service restaurant, you order at the desk, are then escorted to your table and the waiter will then bring out the food. It operates on a virtual queue that can only be booked on the day of your visit. We had paid for early access to Super Nintendo World so one of the first things that we did when we arrived was book ourselves a lunchtime slot. The attention to detail at Toadstool Cafe starts before you even step inside. Designed to look like a classic Toadstool, it immediately sets the scene. Once inside it has vibrant colours, exaggerated decor, and playful atmosphere. The highlight of the ambiance for us were the animated windows. These aren't just static screens; they're dynamic portals showing glimpses of the Mushroom Kingdom. We saw Toads bustling about in the kitchen, Bullet Bills flying past causing subtle changes in the lighting, and even Princess Peach's Castle in the distance. It’s a genius touch that keeps you thoroughly entertained throughout your meal and immersed in the Nintendo universe. I opted for the Luigi Burger which was a grilled chicken sandwich featuring basil pesto, Swiss cheese, green pepper, and spinach on a brioche bun, served with a side of delicious truffle fries. It was well priced at $16.99 and was a good size portion. The chicken was tender, the pesto gave it a fresh kick that was really satisfying and the truffle fries were crispy and flavourful – a definite upgrade from standard theme park fries! My Husband chose the Chef Toad Short Rib Special, braised beef short rib which sits proudly on top of sauteed mushrooms and cheese polenta with a red wine reduction. This dish was a standout and definitely worth the $24,99! The short rib was incredibly tender, falling apart with just the touch of a fork, and the rich red wine reduction complemented it perfectly. It delivered on both flavour and quality and was an unexpected elevated option for theme park dining. Our teenager went for the Mario Burger which was a beef burger, bacon, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and American cheese on a brioche bun, also served with truffle fries. It even had a cute little Mario hat pick! He was very impressed. Our 5 year old chose one of the kids meals, the Power-Up Spaghetti Marinara which featured spaghetti in a mushroom marinara sauce with Parmesan cheese and was topped with crackers that had characters printed on them. It also came with a toadstool cheesy garlic knot and a surprise box which had a gold coin (chocolate coated biscuit) inside. It was great value for $12,99. The Toadstool Cafe at Universal Studios Hollywood is an absolute must-do for anyone visiting Super Nintendo World. It successfully blends delicious, themed food with an incredibly immersive atmosphere, creating a memorable dining experience that perfectly complements your adventures in the Mushroom Kingdom. We felt that the food was well priced for the quality and portion sizes and it was a step above typical quick-service theme park food. We left with full bellies and big smiles, feeling like we had truly powered up for the rest of our day!

Toadstool is a must at Universal Studios Hollywood! I was somehow able to make a lunch res for 4 the night before using the QR code link. Not sure if that’s normal? Give yourself about an hour from the res time until you get your food—so don’t arrive starving especially with kids. My 10 year old daughter ordered tomato soup so she could keep the souvenir red mushroom bowl (so cute!!). My 6 year old son loved the kids spaghetti with the cute Mario crackers and a coin cookie (adorable!!) for dessert. I liked the caprese salad and my husband liked his chicken salad. We all split the Nintendo themed tiramisu which was SO good and gave us the energy to power through the rest of the day at awesome Universal Studios Hollywood!

Our family went to Universal Studios Hollywood mainly to see Super Nintendo World so we certainly wanted to eat at Toadstool Cafe. Reservations were done by scanning a QR code but it wasn’t available immediately when we entered. We had to keep checking and I believe the site opened for reservations around 9. We made ours for 11:45 which gave us more than enough time to see everything in Super Nintendo Land. Once it was our time we joined the line for a fairly extensive wait before being able to order our food. After ordering you are seated and the food is brought out to you which also takes awhile. The interior is very cool and continues the immersive theme of being inside a Nintendo game. The food also fits the theme and is great for pictures. Everything was good if not that memorable but it’s theme park food and you go here for the atmosphere. I don’t know that I would go here again due to the wait but we had a great experience and everyone should go at least once if you are visiting Super Nintendo World and love the games.

Great in concept and so-so in execution. Really seems like an operational nightmare with a crazy wait to get seated after you order and then an even worse wait to get food. You shouldn’t see the entire loop on the video screens more than once while you wait. The food is good, but slightly elevated theme park food with fun theming. Service is basically non-existent. Fun to do once, but that’s it.

Had a fun lunch here. Scanned in and got a reservation early because it all the reservations are gone by midday. Burgers, pasta, and dessert rule the day here. I don’t know why they give truffle fries as the side for burgers, would have preferred regular fries. It was a fun experience and I would go back next time I was at Universal Studios. You have to be in the park to go to this restaurant.

Too much! Thematic, cute, great food (delicious hamburger), reasonable prices. Happy children and adults!! Make a reservation in advance.

nice place, I ordered a caesar salad but the chicken was hard as a board very bad!!! The other dishes are acceptable, but don't order the salad unless you want to lose a tooth!!!

Great experience, slow service but place was packed at 12pm. Mushroom soup is a must, burger was cold but was very good, do not try the peach cupcake is too sweet and does not taste good. No refills are offered, no waiters available, its like a self serve restaurant.

Been waiting nearly an hour for our order, staff cannot seem to figure it out. Guy just came out and admitted order was given to another table. No pics because we still do not have food.

You cant make a reservation in advance and have to make it when you get into the park so you should go straight there to set it up. The menu is so much fun and all the food is themed and super good. We got the Luigi Burger, Fire Flower Spaghetti & Meatballs, Super Star Lemon Squash drink and Princess Peach Cupcake as they were out of the ? Block Tiramisu. Everything was so good. The place also has screens where you can see toads moving around and at times shows a Bowser attack. Totally worth the price and time to go there.

Reviews are really mixed on this place, but once we walked into the full immersion of Super Mario World, we couldn’t resist rolling the dice and trying it out. We added ourselves to the virtual waitlist upon park open and were able to easily snag a same day booking, on a moderately busy day. The attention to detail is amazing here, any fan of Mario is going to love the theming and find many little easter eggs. The menu itself a little odd a first glace really plays into the mushroom theme, and has a little something for everyone. The biggest criticism that I read prior to going for myself, was expensive, and bland. To which I’ll say this, it is expensive, like all theme park food, no worse really IMO than any other option, though certainly more expensive than parking a pack bag and brining your own lunch. Once you’ve made the decision to eat inside the park, this is relatively on par with everything else. As to the quality of the food, it certainly wasn’t the best meal we’ve ever had, but it was tasty, with generous portion sizes. We ordered: Mario Burger w/ Truffle Fries Luigi Burger w/ Truffle Fries Toadstool Cheesy Garlic Knots If you are looking for an immersive meal and haven’t tried Hog’s Head in Hogsmeade, you might want to try there instead, though the reviews are similar! If you are a big Nintendo fan, I would give it a try!
Good Food, Limited Options/Long Waits
I have to say, while the food and atmosphere wasn’t bad, it’s an incredible wait for something you need to reserve. There’s sadly not much in terms of Vegan options if that’s the way you dine, you’re left with a tomato soup, which is good but more than likely not filling if this is a lunch or dinner stop for you. Vegetarians can have a field day here, but it’s tricky to navigate farther than that. The service wasn’t quick nor slow, just about average. I’d say it’s worth a visit if you’re a Mario fan.
