Friendly place where you can have a big pile of tasty pancakes with bacon and unlimited refills of coffee for around $12. We have visited Tom’s Restaurant around 9:30am and it wasn’t too busy. Staff were really friendly and attentive.

Tom's, which has been in business since 1936 at their Coney Island location, is the perfect antidote to the trendy, minimalist spaces that spring up like mushrooms everywhere. The walls are covered with tchotchkes (Yiddish word for random knickknacks), photographs of celebrities, stained glass light boxes covered with tinsel and Christmas lights. When we arrived, at the location, a short walk from the Brooklyn Museum, on a Saturday near lunch time, the line was out into the street, but we chatted with several people and after 15 minutes, the incredibly efficient crew had us seated in the back annex. Within minutes, we had water and coffee, and soon after, the friendly but all business server, came for our order. Now, here's the hard part! How to choose just one dish from that amazing menu. They have every kind of pancake, which looked huge and fluffy when we saw them brought out to other guests, waffles, omelets, etc. My husband decided on crab cakes with scrambled eggs done soft, home fries ( delicious) and rye bread. I had huevos rancheros served on tortillas with perfectly poached eggs, rice, refried beans AND home fries, and they gave me a side order of rye toast when I asked for it. I swore I wouldn't and couldn't eat it all......but I did. There is only one bathroom, and in that line, I also met lovely people. The food, the ambience, the people...do not miss Tom's diner. By the time we left, the line was even longer, but everyone seemed to know it was worth the wait.

We were staying close to Tom's & stopped here for breakfast and were able to get a table right away on a Saturday morning. The food was very good but the restaurant is cash only. The only issue we had was there is only one bathroom that always had a line, when I was finally able to get in there I couldn't get the door to lock so I still wasn't able to use it since I knew it wouldn't be long before some else tried to come & use it again.

We had the pancakes but they were disappointing. Thick and dry without much flavor from the additions I sent most of them back uneaten. One family member had the scrambled eggs with home fries. The home fries were underdone despite being asked to have them well done. The bacon was limp and under done. I probably not come again.

I like nostalgic diners and was excited to try this place out after going to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. I like pancakes but was looking for something a little bit more healthy. I ordered the eggs florentine with crab cakes (okay, so not as healthy as I originally started out) and it was okay but everything (eggs, muffin, crab cakes) all tasted the same. The potatoes didn't really taste like anything. The coffee was good and the servers were nice. Coffee and my meal was $20.00 Maybe I missed out and should have ordered the sweet potato pancakes.

We were in NY for 9 days and we went here for breakfast twice. The food is great. We had egg Benedikt and vegetable omelette, all served with potatoes, butter and toast. The pancakes are fantastic. We had cranberry and ricotta and lemon pancakes. At the end, we could not finish everything because the portions are huge. Staff was super friendly and very fast. On weekend, the place was overloaded, but it was worth of waiting.

Casual, diner like setting with personality - both decor, music and staff. The food is plentiful and diversified with great choices for breakfast and lunch - probably dinner as well. Salads are crisp, pancakes and waffles look scrumptious as does everything else. Happy patrons. Service is good and staff is friendly and fun.

what a rip off... they charged us $8 for a soda! when I questioned it he said a soda cost $5 and he thought I had a coffee too (what, no he didn't). I didn't have a menu in front of me to confirm the price was wrong (a soda is listed as $3) so he lowered it by $2 and didn't lower the tax. they were obviously overcharging me and did not care. an omelet, turkey club and one soda with tip was $45. we left feeling annoyed and really sorry we went there. the ambience is crap too. on the plus side, the food came out very quickly and they quickly fixed an error on the food that we ordered. the food itself was fine but not great. it's very close to the Brooklyn Museum.

3 of us recently stopped in for a quick dinner. We had heard positive reviews of this diner for breakfast and brunch. Knowing this we probably should have ordered from the all day breakfast menu even though it was dinner time. We ordered a BLT, a hamburger and a turkey club. everything was just average except for the service. The gentleman who seated us, took our orders and served was top notch. Wish I could say the same about the food.

I ordered over $50 (exc) tip. Sadly despite me telling them that it was my daughter’s birthday and I my ordered from the UK. THRY DELIVERED ALL THE ITEMS SQUISHED UP ALL TOGEHTER. I wanted to offer a nice surprise for my daughter you spoilt it.

If you crave diner food (what visit to New York is complete without it?), this is your place! The menu is extensive, and it was hard to choose between breakfast and lunch dishes and then to further narrow it to one choice for each of us. We ended up ordering breakfast for lunch. My choice was a pumpkin and walnut waffle, outstanding! Husband ordered a french toast offering made from cake slices, and he could not have been happier. Service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was very cozy. We will go back! Location is a short walk to or from the Brooklyn Museum.

We get to Tom’s a couple of times a year. The food and service are consistently wonderful! A friend from upstate NY joined us this time. She has heard us speaking of Tom’s and singing their praises! My usual go to is the Harvest pancakes with corn and cranberries but this time I tried the Cinnamon Roll pancake. It was melt in the mouth delicious! We also always get a side order of well done bacon for “the table”!

This diner has a nice historic feel. The service staff are friendly and the menu has more than enough options for even the pickiest eaters. All at a price point that doesn't break your budget. If you're in Brooklyn looking for breakfast, Tom's got you covered!

Vibrant atmosphere. Lots to take in of the history of the place. We enjoyed our breakfast food. My wife had the silver side pancakes and i had one of the combo options. Would recommend.

As my friend and I were escorted to our table, we noticed the pancake servings were substantial. This helped us decide to split an order of Danish pancakes supplemented with scrambled eggs. The decision was a good one. Soft scrambled eggs were cooked perfectly. The pancakes came with flavored butters and were hot, scrumptious with a definite lemon flavor and giant blueberries.

Love this place! Decor is a lot of everything. Crowded seating. Food is great. Service is hectic but efficient. We have seen quite a few celebrities over the years. While waiting online outside you are offed coffee, cookies etc. Did I say I love this place?

We went because of the glowing reviews of this diner-type restaurant and we were not disappointed. The lemon ricotta pancakes were light and tasty, and very filling. Wish there had been more sausage in the smoked beef sausage with eggs but the fries were extremely tasty. A speedy and delicious lunch near the Brooklyn Museum.

We were in town for a fun weekend with family. They brought us to Tom's for breakfast on Sunday morning. Very busy but really good stuff on the menu. Everyone was able to find something they wanted to eat and enjoyed it thoroughly. Good place

You want to the what it was like in a diner, lets say 50 years ago, come here and have good look at this relic of the American diner’s heyday, the folks at Tom’s have been flipping pancakes and slinging hash since 1936. Slip into a backless tall stool along the counter or a booth in the back and drink in bits and pieces of the restaurant’s long history: an autographed photograph of Marilyn Monroe near the register, giant striped coffee mugs painted those perfect eighties pastels stacked along a shelf, and a poster of Barack Obama Scotch-taped above the doorway. As for the food, you’ll find mostly classics: dozens of iterations of eggs and omelets, and thick, fluffy pancakes and waffles topped with everything from fresh strawberries to cinnamon smothered bananas.

Another NY eatery from my list of places to eat at gathered from different TV/Netflix shows. Tom's was worth the train ride and walk down Washington Ave in Brooklyn for breakfast. We had the crab cakes with a sauce that was really delicious. We enjoyed the French toast with fresh strawberries, Belgian waffle, and the pancakes with bacon and eggs were all prepared very well. They came with a cinnamon apple butter, a pumpkin spice butter or my favorite a maple butter as well as a warm syrup Service was excellent and the food was served very quickly. We had a great time and enjoyed our meal very much. We even decided to take a couple of orders of the crab cakes to go for one of the spouses.

Samples( sausage) and coffee while your waiting to get in. Samples while you wait for your food to be prepared, friendly staff

A nice diner, very efficient and friendly staff. Pancakes were really delicious and free tabwater was served.

We visited our last day in NYC, it was exactly what we wanted. We had to queue but not for that long and it was so worth it. Waiter was lovely! Food was amazing, huge portions, I had sweet potato pancakes and they are the best I've eaten. Nobody else was disappointed. Prices were really low considering portions, and we got a free egg cream at the end which was also tasty. Recommend going if you get chance.

Had a provolone burger deluxe chased by a cherry cola lime Rickey which was De-lish! The burger was huge, with grilled onion and the house pickle had great crunch! Looks like a perfect breakfast spot served all day. Very eclectically decorated, lots to look at! Would go back again! PS fries were great!

Great food and service!! The pancakes are killer. Portions are large and great for the prices. A definite must while in Brooklyn.

Had the pancakes. Twice. Yum. Hmmm...review has to be 100 characters long or they wont accept it. So I'll say it again. Had the pancakes. Twice. Yum.

We had to stay in Brooklyn after our flight got postponed. We made a point of seeking this place out because of the reviews. It is the stereotypical and traditional NY Diner from the decor to the staff! I was having trouble choosing a pancake to try then was informed that I could get 3 DIFFERENT styles in one ORDER! It was GREAT! I got two berry pancakes (one with mango) and those were not very tasty. The batter was very good but the fruit seemed like it was run of the mill frozen fruit. The one that blew me away was the CINNAMON ROLL Pancake! It was very sweet but it was delicious! Make sure you try it there. We also got the Halal French Toast, and it was a little underwhelming but still good. It was a fun experience before we wandered over to the botanical garden. Cool spot!

Why wait in line at Katz’s when you can get great deli at Tom’s, across the river in Brooklyn? On a recent trip to NYC to visit our daughter, we were pleasantly surprised to find this Clinton Hill neighborhood restaurant with big city flavor. Tom’s is part deli, part diner, and all delicious. The egg cream brought back fond memories of the Chicago-style chocolate phosphates of my childhood. The deli sandwiches were authentic and large. The slice of apple pie was so huge, both my daughters had to tackle it. The walls are cluttered with restaurant reviews and photos documenting the restaurant’s history dating back to the 1936. The friendly atmosphere and great service will make Tom's your favorite Brooklyn hang-out. Note: Tom’s only takes cash, but there is an ATM conveniently located in the restaurant.

Friendly and fast service but the food was tasteless. Had eggs benedict and it just tasted butter and undercooked eggs. It might have been that i ordered wrong food but for that price I’m not going back to find out. Good coffee and friendly staff got my rating up, but that’s it I’m afraid.

I enjoyed very much having breakfast in that traditional American Diner. the food was excelent and service was very friendly. Don't miss! It felt like being in a scene of a Rob Reiner's movie - the eggs and bacon with potatoes on the side, the regulars behaving like family with the staff. The price was very reasonable. I even liked the infamous American drip machine coffee :-)

Stopped here for brunch and had pancakes and a milkshake. Had both a sweet and savoury pancake and both were very good. Really extensive pancake menu and lots of other options too. Fast service. Would highly recommend for those trying to find 'a typical American diner' in new york/brooklyn!!

They stated the best Pancakes...This is so true!! They were the BEST Pancakes!! We all enjoyed the food and service. Will go back on our next trip

Went there for our 5th. Anniversary Breakfast. Food was very well prepared, place very clean. Wonderful Experience, Great Food, LOVELY WIFE..... Who could ask for more!

Classic and timeless NYC/Brooklyn diner, with reasonable prices for good food and excellent service. No pretentiousness, just a good meal. It is cash only, and like stepping back in time for a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Came here on a Sunday around noon and the place was very busy with a queue of about 20 people but we were seated within 10-15 minutes and it was worth the wait. This is a quintessential, award-winning American diner which has had a lot of famous clientele (see the signed pictures on the walls), offers an extensive menu, huge american sized portions and it's all very delicious and reasonably priced. Unlimited coffee top-ups too which is a bonus! We really enjoyed our experience here. Tip: They serve breakfast all day long.

Tom's is an old diner (1936) on Washington Avenue, with standard diner food like pancakes, french toast, eggs and hash, and classic sandwiches. It is a short convenient walk from the museum, and we stopped in for lunch not knowing that it was "famous" locally. As it was a weekday there was no line, but based on other sources I'd say avoid it for weekend brunch, as there's a long wait. Our waiter was extremely attentive and friendly and the seats very close together. My french toast was as expected but not memorable, as was my companions Ruben. Newspaper articles about the diner were a read-worthy part of its decor. I'd rate this 5 stars if you want the "NY diner experience" but it's average - average in a positive way.

Went to morning meal here. We heard the food was good. Once we saw the line to wait for seating we knew this place was going to be worth the wait. It took about 30 minutes to get seated and the staff was nice. I had steak and eggs, my buddy had the eggs Benedict. My meal was straight forward, so no surprises for me. The eggs Benedict was not traditionally made. It was almost as if it was “rushed” and they do not use Canadian bacon. However, all of the food was hot, coffee was decent, service was good. I am giving 4 stars because the noise level is very loud and the wait time was long for what we got. En Un Mot: Médiocres

I was staying in the area and was really in the mood for pancakes and French toast so I went to Tom's after seeing it online. It wasn't too busy and we got a table right away. I had blueberry pancakes and French toast with turkey bacon and maple syrup. My sister ordered the BLT with home fries. Everything was really tasty and the service was super quick! Our server was nice and friendly and gave us coffees to go on the house. We saw other people's food and it all looked great. Would come back again.

Simply the best. Typical historic American restaurant, great food, atmosphere and price. I haven't tried any better breakfast in my life.

This diner is within walking distance from the Brooklyn Museum, and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. I liked the ham and cheese sandwich that they served, and the chocolate fudge cake for dessert.

Based on reviews we were happy to check this place out. Everything was good breakfast food but the best was the lemon ricotta pancakes or the Danish pancakes (which was the lemon ricotta with blueberries). No one tried the chocolate cake French toast or the waffles but they sounded good. Service was IMPECCABLE! Side note: good milkshakes😉

Friendly service! Had tuna melt and lemon ricotta pancakes. They were both very good and very big, had to take some of each home. Substituted onion rings for french fries, and were also plenty, piping hot with real onions

This diner is lovely! It has an old-school charm to it and, while it offers the standard diner menu (burgers, sandwiches, various breakfast foods), everything is prepared incredibly well, without any fancy bells and whistles. I loved the cinnamon pancakes, which were hearty and delicious, with plenty of cinnamon (some places skimp on these things). This place has been around for a long time and it clearly shows, as the regulars are well-established. It took a while to get a table, as it was super busy when we got here.

Arrived around 10 on a Saturday, had to wait for a table for 7 but they handed out water and samples while we waited. Good breakfast, large quantities, almost didn't have room on table for plates!

This is the place for a great breakfast on a Saturday morning. Busy diner, with prompt friendly staff. Reasonable prices and delicious food. We had the omelet and the 2x2x2 special and coffee. They give flavored butters with the toast. A bit noisy but that adds to the fun!

This was by far the most disappointing restaurant we went to during our recent 2 week stay in the NYC area. Because of all the hyped up reviews about this place we took transit from Manhattan to try it out, upon arriving there were a few people lining up to get seated, first impressions were the place looks like a dump. If I were back home and went to a restaurant that looked like that I would have turned around and left. Since we travelled a fair distance to get there and with the hopes the food would be as good as some of the reviews we decided to wait and try it. Well, that was a mistake! The so called "world famous pancakes" were dense and dry, I hate Denny's pancakes but imo they are far better than the the ones at Tom's and the egg dishes were no better than anywhere else, the potatoes were bland with no taste, the sausage was oozing with fat, the coffee tasted like its been sitting for quite a while, etc, etc. The experience we had at George's Diner in downtown Manhattan was far far better. Save yourself some time and try George's instead.

If you're looking for the American brunch experience, tom's is the place to go. Our waiter was more than friendly, the food was served relatively fast. But we went on a Tuesday and it was delicious and so cheap. We're definitely coming back.

It was my cousin who insisted to go there for brunch, she mentioned how good the food is. The food was good and very affordable. The place is small, too crowded though its very systematic the way they seat the guests. I was happy to see the place.

Really good restaurant. Only $26 for 3 pancakes and the Tom’s wrap. Tasty and big portion (the pancakes were so huge). The Tom’s wrap is a little bit spicy. The place is typical american and the waiters are really kind. Place to eat.

Just had a great breakfast with my family. Proper portions, attentive service and they grilled my buttered English muffin perfectly. I couldn't ask for more on this, our anniversary.

Food is merely OK not great, service is slow, waiting in line makes it worth skipping. The food is basic American you can get at any diner, nothing special.

Near the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and the Brooklyn Museum. A quick walk from the subway. I had the Eggs Benedict which were very ordinary and my friend had the Danish Pancakes which were terrific. Next time we will order one serving of pancakes/waffles and one serving of bacon'sausage. Then split the orders between us.

This is a cool little place that’s been there since 1936. It’s out of the noise and crowds and a cool place to enjoy a quiet meal. Good food-good value!

We had a late breakfast here (breakfast served all day) and the pancakes are fantastic (many varieties of pancakes!) and they have yummy homemade butter too! The venue is a throwback to another era from the past (they have been in business at this location since 1936!). Great service, tasty food and a traditional NYC diner vibe - great experience at Tom's!

We were looking for a place to eat while the street sweeping turned over on our parking spot in Brooklyn during our visit to our freshly minted son. A traditional Brooklyn style diner appeared on the TripAdvisor list so after navigating parking we dove in. The place has a classic mid century New York diner feel. Busy and a little ethnic. I had a couple of eggs over easy and the fried fish. It was awesome. I Also had some grits which were creamy but thicker than I like. Only ordered grits in the south I guess. My wife had the fish cakes and was disappointed. She felt that they had little flavor and tasted more like a hush puppy with mostly filling. Luckily I had more than enough fish. My son of course, the carbohydrate fiend, ordered the chocolate chip pancakes. They did not disappoint. He nearly devoured the whole stack. The coffee was strong and robust without any unusual flavors. It hit the spot. Overall this was a very good experience. It had nice ambience, great fried fish and eggs, and generous portions of flapjacks. Can't recommend the fishcakes though.

My wife and I wanted to find a new place for a local Sunday brunch. Tom's didn't look like a brunch place as much as it looked like an old fashioned luncheonette. We had the 2x2x2 breakfast and it was fantastic. The coffee we had was in the type of oversized mug you would have at home and amazingly the coffee was excellent. We are a Starbucks / Dunkin Donuts fan and we even bring that coffee in with us when we go out for breakfast. We got there around 11 am and it was a good thing. The restaurant was crowded but by 11:30 there was a line forming outside waiting to get in. By the time we left a little after 12 noon the line was around the corner. Considering that there were several places in the immediate area that served breakfast / brunch and were not very crowded and Tom's had a line out the door and around the corner tells you all you need to know about how good this place is.

Amazing NY food experience. Ate their multiple times in our short stay in NY and enjoyed every minute of it. Ty for the great breakfasts and kind service with a big smile. Take the divine pancakes!! Mmmmmmmm A drink to you! Kind regards Kelly and Wesley

amazing food and well worth the money. The food was great and there was a very friendly atmosphere. loved it

We had lunch at Tom's, it was good and plentiful, service was good also, just be aware it is cash only...

I was surprised that this fantastic restaurant is open since 1936.. WOW.. ! Have a look on the walls with its nice decorations. Me and my wife were invited to have our breakfast there with our friends. We were lucky to be there early so as to avoid the waiting lines. I ordered the "Eggs Florentine"; which was unique. I loved every bit of it. My friends tried other dishes, but I can't remeber any of heir names. But my dish was different, and I recommend it. After that we had "Banana pancakes"; which were so delicious and really big in size. Service is great, cost is cheap, portions are big. Cash is needed and don't miss this place.

Excactly what I expected! An American diner which serves big hearty meals and delicious pancakes. Would happily come back.

We had brunch at Tom's, it was fantastic, a true Brooklyn experience. The food was good, the service great, the staff friendly. Everything was superb. The only potential negatives were; 1. having to wait in line to get a table, but this was fun as it allowed us to talk to the other people in the queue, who were all happy and chatty, and 2. It is not obvious from the outside that the place is Tom's, there is no sign so it could be hard to find. 3. The tables are small so dining it a cosy squeeze, but that just adds to the fun So check it out. Find it, stand in line, be patient and enjoy.

There are not so many places to have lunch or brunch after a visit at the Brooklyn Museum. Tom's restaurant is only a few minutes' walk. The place is full but I guess people keep coming because of the history of the place, not the food. There are so many other places to have nice traditional comfort food in Brooklyn. Tom's is plain. Service is fast and nice though.

We stopped at Tom's in hopes of getting a great Deli sandwich. I had the corned beef sandwich on wheat bread (Note Lettuce was extra), my wife had the Greek Salad and my son an omelet. Found the corned beef dry and the bread ordinary (did not eat the bread) came with a portion of a pickle (not a spear or 1/2 pickle). The Greek salad was more than ample with good lettuce but the chicken was dry and overcooked. The omelet was good sized and well prepared. All in all a disappointment. Coupled with the noise level and the fact that it is a cash only restaurant (ATM available), I would not return.

We had breakfast in Tom's restaurant. Vegetable omelet with chili beans were heavy but delicious. I also really like their french toasts. You just need to excersize after you get lots of calegories :-) but they taste good

This is my favorite diner in NYC. The traditional diner food is exactly what you'd want it to be. The only problem is I can never decide between pancakes and eggs!!! Ugh!!! It is also really fun and funky inside, and the waitstaff is really nice and funny and super fast. On the weekends there is a line out the door but it is worth the wait. And sometimes the waitstaff brings you little surprise treats while you're waiting. If I can, I'll bring my friend Adrian The Actor here when we meet up. Adrian's been looking for the best diner in NYC and this is it!

We like visiting an old diner that has been in business for a long time, with lots of loyal local customers. We found one in Brooklyn when we visited Brooklyn Museum. This diner is family owned operated since 1936! You need to go down to the mid way between the entrance and the back wall, where they have a sign that says “wait to be seated.” It was packed on a weekend during lunch time. A staff came by quickly and told us there will be a few minutes wait. After a few minutes, we were taken to what looked like an outside area from the main restaurant. It was an add-on to the restaurant (I assume), with lots of windows. It was full Christmas mode in there, even though we were visiting during Summer time. A good way to save time and cost with no need to re-decorate for the holidays. LOL. As soon as we sat, the staff asked if we wanted coffee, this is not that kind of a place where you take your sweet time to decide what to eat and drink. For food, we ordered Special 2 by 2 by 2 Combo, Crab Cakes and Eggs, and Tom’s Beer Batter Fillet Sandwich. The portion was huge, not anything fancy but tasty and the kind of food that soothes your soul. We had a nice lunch here, we were completely stuffed and still took some left over home. They serve breakfast all day, so you can have breakfast any time of the day. The one thing to remember, is that they are CASH ONLY. Make sure you bring cash! The staffs were nice, not always easy to grab someone since they are always busy, but they are attentive enough.

FANTASTIC PANCAKES! Worth the wait! We waited circa 30 minutes on a Sunday late morning but was blown away by the lemon ricotta pancakes. The place is super busy, but found the pancakes worth the wait. The atmosphere is super busy on a Sunday morning so not a relaxing place to eat, but the food was great!

We had so much pleasure To eat a real American breakfeast, simple but efficient, very tasty very simple I recommended ! Good quality price !!and so so delicious Thank you

Was looking for a restaurant after going to the Brooklyn Museum - happened on this classic diner - and as soon as we walked in - We knew this was a great neighborhood restaurant. Good & Friendly service...old fashioned diner feel with history all over it's walls - and most importantly - fresh & delicious food. They serve breakfast all day - and it appears a variety of pancakes are their specialty - (which all looked amazing!) - we had salads & wraps - which were equally as delicious & fresh. I LOVE these types of places - and can only hope our patronage & appreciation - will keep places like this alive...Go try it when in that fabulous neighborhood...

Went there because I had read good comments on this place for the brunch. I don't find them justified: the spinach and cheese omelet with home fries (it's just a kind of boiled potatoes, it's not fried) wan't tasty, pretty flavorless... I had the supreme pancakes and they were good except that I hardly found the mango and nuts.... Maybe the mapple syrup is that way in the restaurant but I've already been in Canada and for the one served here, I had to put lots of mapple syrup to have a little bit of flavor. I have been recommended to take a "fresh squizzed limonade" but when it came, I was astonished to have a fluo orangish drink with a chemical taste. In my mind, a lemonade is a lemon + sparkling water and transparent. So I'm kind of disappointed but the place is very crowded... so it seems to be popular.

Wanted a traditional American breakfast and this place delivered. Don't be put off by the rustic decor, the food and atmosphere were great. Can recommend the pancakes with strawberries... a winner.

We visited based on the TripAdvisor reviews. We arrived around 4pm and got a table easily, we were warned that if we arrived earlier we would have to queue. The service was good, the food was tasty. We had corned beef hash and a beef wrap which was delicious. We felt that it was expensive for a diner.

Good quality local diner. Good service Cash only! Pancakes are alright...nothing to write home about.

Came in for breakfast after reading the good reviews. The staff is very friendly. The food was good and the price cheap (eggs, toast and a large OJ for 12$). For some reason the sign only reads "Restaurant" without any mention of Tom...

The diner was full when we arrived thriving and busy, Lots of charm with decorations like a diner from the 40's. Once we got a table the service was quick service. Harty portions. Not a gourmet meal but solid portions. A place for young and old it seemed. A fun experience for a foreigner.

We had the last breakfast of our holiday at Tom's restaurant and it was the best choice... pancakes were amazing, nice coffee and friendly service. Highly recommend this place.

This is a charming place for an exciting and bustling meal. We go to Brooklyn from L.I. as often as we can to experience a special weekend meal at this great Greek Diner. It is so colorful and the decorations are adorable. A treat for your eyes for sure. The Belgium Waffels with strawberry's are the best and the turkey lemon sausages are delicious! They have a wide variety to choose from on the menu, Lime rickeys and egg creams at the counter, and a lot of everything else. It is so popular that the waiters feed you outside on the line so you don't leave... You'll get coffee, orange wedges, cookies, lemon sausages and a whole lot more. By the time you sit down at your table your tummy will be half full from the freebies! Try this place. You'll have a wonderful time, a yummy meal, and for sure you'll bring all your friends back to show them your special find in Brooklyn. I think it's cash only, but so what. Go and enjoy. You'll love it. The service is excellent and the food is a real treat. The coffee is delicious, too. You can visit the Brooklyn museum that same day as it's nearby.

Tom's is very close to the Brooklyn Museum, and so we stopped there on our way. The decor is very funky, and it is fun to look at. The waitstaff was very attentive. I had an omelette which was OK, but my friend had pancakes and she is still raving about them. We would certainly go back.

We visited on a cold December morning and this really did warm us up! I had looked at the reviews and knew we had to come here. I had an omelette with home fries, and my boyfriend had the cinnamon roll pancakes with bacon. The food was incredible, and the service was even better! Worth a trip to Brooklyn to come to this place alone! Really decently priced, we left over 20% tip.

Great old fashioned café with many breakfast options. Very fast and nice service, great food. I was not a big fan of the Huevos rancheros but the pancakes were splendid!

The service was very bad. You could see all the people gathered in a corner but they never came to me I always had to wave at them; and the pancakes were awful I had better food elsewhere including service. I only came because I saw it had such high reviews, but I guess they didn’t like me lmao. Go to neptunes instead.

Best pancakes ever tried, the waiter was funny and he suggested me to try cinnamon pancakes and I did. Highly recommended!

Really busy buzzing place. Huge plates of food. Great staff. All good. Pastrami and eggs and of course home fries. Rita had Mexican omelette.

The restaurant was quite delightful. I enjoyed a tuna salad and coffee, which were both pleasant. The staff was very amiable.

Visited here three times during a week’s holiday in New York. French toast is the best, also tried the omelette. Great service and atmosphere. Always busy with locals, a good sign. Great value.

Great and busy place to go for breakfast with good service and great selection of pancakes. Good crabcakes if you're so adventurous in the morning.

toms is a must in brooklyn. i went there at around ten o’ clock in the morning and had some breakfast. they have standard breakfast foods as well as more on top of that, offering things like cinnamon roll pancakes, and pastrami and eggs (though they also have a selection of hot sandwiches not including hot dogs). the food itself is very good and is brought out to you pretty quickly, especially considering how busy this restaurant can get. the meatloaf i had was very good but so were the chocolate chip and cinnamon pancakes, as well as the corned beef hash. while the restaurant itself can get a little cramped, extra real estate is tough in brooklyn so plan accordingly. overall i had a very good authentic brooklyn meal experience, price is not super bad for the area and the quality and quantity of food you receive matches the price.

Yes you have to wait in a short line, and yes it is worth it. Tom's has been around for 80 years and you can tell why. When in line waiter's brought water and samples out - french fries with their special sauce and a cutesy dessert cooking thing is what I remember. We went for breakfast, my partner had the eggs and crab cakes with bacon and potatoes, I had the Danish pancakes (lemon, blueberry, ricotta, parmesan) with eggs. I don't really even like pancakes but these were terrific. They bring out a variety of spreads with the pancakes too. Many meals looked fantastic as well. Cash only, but they have an ATM inside.

Went on a Sunday, there was a lineup but it moved pretty quickly. They offer bites to people in line which is very appreciated. A very nice experience, staff was friendly, food was tasty, the home fries are really amazing.

Visited on a Saturday morning around 10 am. Waited maybe 15 minutes for a seat but it wasn't too bad. I ordered the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes with a side of Beef Sausage. It was super fluffly with a hint of lemon. It's a generous portion, 3 fluffy pancakes and the beef sausage was super salty but satisfying. I'd come back to try some of the other pancake options. P.S. they offer a few varieties of butter for your pancakes..

Fun, unpretentious hole in the whole where you can eat great food at very reasonable price. Good portions so come hungry!

This place has some of the best breakfast I have ever had. Their cinnamon roll pancakes were awesome. Great service! Friendly staff! Great prices.

Huge portions! The banana and walnut pancakes were excellent. As hard as I tried, I couldn't finish them. Our other order, eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast, a most ordinary basic breakfast, was just okay. It was an enormous plate with lots of potatoes and bacon, but it just wasn't satisfying. The potatoes needed onions or bell peppers or something - maybe a different type of potato, as they were bland. Hard to recommend on a 50/50.

Heard a lot about this place. Raves about the pancakes and lines out the door for breakfast and brunch, so when recently in the borough we made a point of stopping in at an off hour when it wasn't so crowded to give it a try. We weren't starving and decided to test out the chocolate chip pancakes as a treat we could share. Service was friendly, but strangely slow despite the lack of customers while we were there. We were really looking forward to the pancakes after seeing all the great reviews and when the three nice sized circles showed up at our table we dug in and ate them without adding butter or syrup. The chips were all massed in the middle of each pancake, so you ate through the plain outer pancake to get to the chocolate choked centers. Honestly, we were not impressed. Either the person on the grill that evening wasn't a pancake guy (yes, we ordered the pancakes at night) or the folks who come here haven't had really good pancakes before. It's a funky location and locals seem to like it, but I've had a lot better pancakes and didn't have to wait on line to get them at a number of other places. Also, at these places they served real maple syrup, not the commercial corn syrup stuff they had at Tom's. It's an interesting place, but after this visit I'll take it off my list. Been there...ate that.

I would highly recommended Tom's Restaurant. The food was delicious and we received it fast. The service was outstanding!!

We had breakfast plates one morning. We waled by it a few times as it is hard to see and our GPS was way off. But once inside it was a tight squeeze but worth it. Solid breakfast fare and great, great service from Mario. He really made an average hearty breakfast extra special. Would go back again for a quick bite.

What a discovery.. Recommend by someone who used to live in Crown Heights who was spot on with his advice. Traditional place with good honest food at a reasonable price. Great staff, be prepared to queue outside and round the block at busy times.

Classic no thrills neighbourhood diner with the usual eggs, bacon, pancakes menu. Great buzz about the place.

Its hard to write a bad review about a place that serves one of the best lime rickeys this side of brooklyn. Good burgers the breakfast is good and filling and if you have a sweet tooth this is the place. Can get crowded at times but what can you do its ny.

Although we waited over a half hour for a table -- Sunday morning, peak period, so really not unreasonable -- it was worth it. Crowded but the service was attentive, and we thought absolutely everything was well done. If you're not pleased here, you shouldn't eat breakfast or brunch outside of your own home. For NYC, prices are reasonable.

We had a short wait but were served fries while in line. Everyone enjoyed their food and the lively atmosphere!

You feel at home here, nice and cozy very friendly staff, breakfast is fantastic. Coffee is great, it's not expensive.

Exceptional burgers , amazing staff and authentic feel, I highly recommend it ! If ever you feel like u know what's vintage America ure wrong ! It's a very charming inviting place! And the sodas oh good god! ❤️❤️❤️

Went for brunch with the family. Service was great, food even better! Make sure you are hungry and don't miss the pancakes. Busy and small so you might have a big wait at busy times.

This is by far the best diner to have breakfast at in NY/ Brooklyn combined :D Too many interesting options on the menu that we had to go more than once on our 1 week visit to NY P.S: it gets really crowded on weekends you'll have to wait outside a bit so make sure you go as early as u can

Do not expect to find a posh place at Tom's. But, those lemon ricotta pancakes were HEAVENLY. Perhaps the best I've had. Sure, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table and the place is on the crowded side, but for those prices and those pancakes I will definitely be going back for more. P.S. Bring cash

Visited the city for a long weekend and went to breakfast at Tom's with a group of se en on Sunday morning.Line was long so we had to wait outside ( it was cold and windy). They actually came outside with complimentary coffee and hot chocolate while we waited, and the wait wasn't really all that long. Glad we waited, the food and service were both excellent.

I had the club sandwich with fries. Huge portion of delicious fries and the price of $15 was totally reasonable. Service was good too

Blueberry, mango and walnut pancakes! Cinnamon and apple pancakes! Bacon, eggs, crabcakes. This is the place for breakfast/brunch. They even give you orange quarters and iced water when you queue.

Was down to NYC for my birthday and I was searching for a proper diner. One article online cited this as one of the best diners in New York City, so my boyfriend and I went off to Brooklyn one more time just to try this diner. It was AMAZING. I had eggs, bacon and pancakes, while my boyfriend had chocolate chip pancakes. This is what I needed and I enjoyed it so much. Prices for food in NYC are quite high, but this diner has amazing prices and generous portions. Plus, our drinks were bottomless. The only thing is that it’s cash only, but I’m happy they have an ATM right inside the restaurant. The staff is friendly and constantly checking everything is alright with the costumers. Had an amazing time, definitely going back again, trying a different dish next time! Miss it so much.

Tom's is a great place!!! We had a quick breakfast there because we were in a hurry, but the staff was so friendly and we even got a soda on the house. The pancakes are fluffy and come with 3 different spreads. The chocolate cake french toast was too chocolatey for my friend, but she also had a grilled sandwhich so it was just too much food :)) but delicious. We discovered the place too late, otherwise we'd been there for every breakfast.

This used to be better, but let me bring you up to speed. The lines there Saturday and Sunday to get seated are ridiculously long. If you go as only two they will pick off four or more from the back of the line who just arrived even though you've already been waiting 45 minutes to be seated. Yes, it happened to us not once but twice and the couple behind us was not happy as well. We said something and the Spanish lady seating those in the back first got a piece of my mind and just said 'wait'.. What???? Okay, they lose a star and a half for dissing patient customers standing for long periods to just watch larger parties showing up in last 5 minutes before you. Wait service was okay. Not the best and not the worst. I would give him three stars and the hostess less than one star. The food? We saw an enormous pile of hash browns just sitting on the side of the grill waiting to be picked up. Not sure if that is good or bad but the stuff looked awful and unappetizing (I remembered to order the fries instead of hash browns for this reason but I forgot seeing the chef handle the fries with his bare hands as he grabbed two handfuls to toss into a pie tin for some customer). Food quality - I had a eggs benedict. Let me share this.. it was different. American cheese on two eggs smothering the English muffin and a slice of what seemed boiled ham. Don't they use Canadian bacon for eggs benedict? Well, it was unexpected what I had. The taste wasn't bad but it was not worth the reviews that rave about the food here. The fries were decent. Why the reviews? I think it's because it's a local joint, but also has a unique menu including Lime Rickys and Root Beer floats. My girlfriend had crab cakes which she liked (it appeared very fried to me .. almost overdone - see photo). The eggs were good, but the hash browns? Let's just say "I told you so". Seating is crowded. In the winter don't sit near the door or you get the cold draft each time someone walks in. Also, you get all the people inching by to get to and from the ATM. The prices (see photo)? A bit high for what you get. They do know how to make eggs. There is a sauce they give almost everyone. It looks like thousand island dressing - here's the warning.. it's a five-alarm spicy as hell sauce. The bottle on the table that looks similar is actually was not as spicy and had a jalapeno taste. Summary - it was much better a few years ago. Now they cut corners, slacked on their standards, and treat their customers like cattle with no respect (at least the couples waiting in line). Would we return? No, we'll try other places that deserve our hard earned dollars. It is the go-to if you live nearby. If you had a choice, I can't say to stay far away but do consider your choices because it may be a wiser use of your time and dollars to not run with the herd. It's not terrible, just mediocre and hype. Bon appetite!

Wonderful, old fashioned breakfast place. Walking distance to the Brooklyn Museum. So tasty! Good value.

I messed up when ordering and ordered crab cakes Florentine thinking eggs would be with the crabcakes but they were not. Carlos the waiter saw my disappointment and took my crabcake order kept it warm and added two over easy eggs to the top. My meal and my daughters huevos rancheros meals were both excellent. Thank you Carlos

It's worth going to this place once, at least for the atmosphere and service. This is a relaxed, spirited place that gives you a good sense of the neighborhood. People are friendly. The waitstaff is easygoing. The food is OK. Not great, but all right. I had challah French toast ($7) and scrambled eggs ($3). My lunch companion had a BLT ($6.50). We both enjoyed our meals. The restaurant looks better on the inside than the impression you get on the outside. I will go back.

This place offers a nice American restaurant. It is wuite packed and beware of waiting longer to get a table. They have fair prices and huge selection of dishes. Definitely worth trying if you are visiting NY.

We visited Tom's for breakfast, managing to get a table at about 9am on the Friday before Christmas without any difficulty. Everyone had pancakes, which came as a generous but manageable portion of three - three of us had the 'combo' with eggs and bacon/sausage and I had cranberry with extra banana. With coffee for all and a tip the bill came to about $60. Service was quick and friendly. Recommended!

I love Tom’s. It may be slightly overhyped but it does have the best breakfast in the area. The lines can be ridiculous so I only go at off hours.

Excellent selection of comfort foods. We had pancakes, cheeseburger, qeusadilla, and a brisket wrap. All really tasty and generous portions. Friendly service and a cool atmosphere. Very highly recommended.

This restaurant became famous on TV but that did not make it an overpriced or overcrowded place to eat. It offers a great variety of options with fast and friendly service for a great price. I enjoyed the food and atmosphere.

Well, to be fair, I've only been to ONE breakfast spot in Brooklyn, but it was freakin' delicious. Tom's Restaurant is full of history and apparently was owned by a pretty stand-up guy. We arrived on a Saturday morning around 9 AM with no wait, but it wasn't long after we were seated that we saw a line forming. The staff provides those waiting with orange slices, which I thought was great. Our server was amazing, very attentive, and took very good care of us. We got omelettes and mango blueberry walnut pancakes, and the servings were large. My husband and I could have easily shared the pancakes. Both meals were delicious, and this out-of-towner loved the authentic Brooklyn vibe, but especially the historical aspect of the place. (The Brooklyn Dodgers used to dine here! The neighbors formed a human chain to protect this place in the late 1960s after MLK was assassinated!) We would definitely recommend it and would visit again! (The Tom's Restaurant in Manhattan is the "Seinfeld diner" from the show, but we can only speak to the amazing experience at the Brooklyn location.)

Lovely authentic American diner. We had the homemade burgers which were huge. Free refills for soft drinks too. Great service and well worth a visit. Close to Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Library.

Almost walked past Toms and I’m so glad we didn’t! Amazing real American diner. We had coffee, eggs with home fries and turkey bacon and cinnamon bun pancakes. It was all amazing, the pancakes were so fluffy! Huge portions and reasonably priced.

Very good. Very friendly staff. Busy in the weekends, I heard people are queing to get in. But in the week with some luck you can find a table.

Fast service, nice staff, delicious food. We had to wait a few minutes before seated, it’s crowded in the morning. The atmosphere is really good and the prices are not that high considering the size of the dishes you get.

Very nice diner in Brooklyn, close to Prospect park. Great menu, great quality and excellent service.

Really good diner old fashion style. Full of families and regular clients. If you look for a breakfast it is the perfect place.

I've been frequenting this spot several times dating back to 1991 as a local police officer. Now retired, returned with family to a thriving Brooklyn neighborhood. The line was out the door, staff brought coffee to the street along with cuts of pancakes just because. Staff was friendly , Food is a 3.5, but the atmosphere pulls this rating up to a must visit. Lovely people in a truly positive atmosphere full of life

We visited here as a family for breakfast and were very impressed with not only the massive selection but the amount and quality of the food. This really is a hearty breakfast that sets you up for the day. The Sweet Ice Tea is beautiful. The cost is very cheap, but the food does not reflect on this. Portions are big, quality is brilliant, and service is second to none.

This was a pretty yummy place and doesn't break the bank. The service was good, and lots of memorabilia throughout the restaurant to see.

The cinnamon roll pancakes were great. Bacon was plentiful. Garden omelette was just okay with a bit too many onions, but toast was very good. Coffee was fine. Cash only. ATM machine inside, too. Friendly staff. Would recommend.

Tom's was wonderful! The lemon ricotta pancakes were heavenly. The portions are large, but we didn't want to leave any on our plate. It was too good. Cash only, but they do have an ATM inside the restaurant. Very good service.

We are on holiday from the UK. We came here after a trip to Brooklyn Museum. My children's 1st experience of true american diner. We all loved it! Great food & great service. All the classics done really well - great shakes and lovely atmosphere.

A friendly neighborhood diner, where you can get breakfast all day, a wide selection of sandwiches or dinners. The kind place you’d like to hang with a friend or where everyone in the family can find something. Perfect to walk to after a visit to the Brooklyn Museum. Try the signature drink, Cherry Lime Rickey.

Superb food, an authentic NY diner. Large helpings. Lives up to its deserved reputation. Superb for breakfast. Cash only.

Tom's restaurant has been operating in Brooklyn for about 80 years. It has been run by 3 generations of the Vlahavos family - now run by the nephews. They have the same great food & service - that makes it the best diner in New York City for breakfast & lunch. They serve large portions and are cash only.

We grabbed a bite of lunch at Tom's restaurant before an outing to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens. It was a perfect stop! The service was fast and friendly but the pancakes were really where they shined. My cinnamon roll pancakes were awesome! They provide these flavored butters that complement your pancakes delightfully. I'll definitely be back!

My daughter and I decided to check out this diner on our first visit to Brooklyn based on an internet search. It may not look like much on the outside but don’t be fooled. The typical diner interior fitted perfectly with the burgers and amazing old fashioned shakes. All at a very reasonable price by New York standards. The service was fast and the staff quiet but nice :)

A lot of locals there also. friendly helpful service and no stinting on the portions. an enjoyable experience.

I wanted to like it more than I did, but it's still solid diner breakfast fare. Omelet was greasy but tasted good, chocolate chip pancakes were terrific. There will be a wait but the coffee served to the line is clutch. Crowded, but classic.

Tom's is a Brooklyn classic for breakfast and lunch since 1936. We had the special 2 by 2 combo and the pumpkin walnut pancakes, with coffee. Everything was really good. We were absolutely full all day long. The price is really good for the quantity they put on the plate. Highly recommend for the true american diner experience! Plus, we had our coffee poured twice, for the same price!

Great service, great food! Pancakes and cheery lemonade!!! Refills on coffee as you would expect from any American diner. Going back for sure.

What fun. Sought out Toms for breakfast on a recent New York visit. Walking in was like a scene out of Cheers. Everybody chatting, locals knowing locals, flags everywhere-a happy patriotic restaurant with attitude. Breakfast was great-or maybe it just seemed great because it was so fun being a part of it all. Highly recommend.

They cook quality food as a matter of principle and pride. They remember your name and ask you how your family is doing if you visited with them in the past. The space encourages talking to your dining neighbors without being intrusive. It's old Brooklyn and an important historical landmark.

Our son lives in Brooklyn and really enjoys this place especially for breakfast. Which they serve all day. We actually had lunch but one person had breakfast with the best looking bacon I had seen in a while. Wife had a spinach and egg omelet with toast. She loved it. I had a fish sandwich which was also great. The fries were cooked to order "crisp". This is a very popular place so you should expect to wait a bit but it is worth the wait.

Enjoyed breakfast at Tom's on a Saturday morning before visiting the Brooklyn Museum. We had just a short wait before getting a table. Seating is fairly limited, and it's pretty tight, but no one seemed to mind. The pancakes looked wonderful, but both of us opted for omelets, along with Tom's home fries. Very filling. The host and wait staff were very pleasant, and we would go again. This is a Cash-only restaurant, so plan accordingly.

Huge menu full of goodness. Always a line (a good sign) but waiting in line has never been so nice! Staff bring various things out for people waiting like fries, pieces of french toast, coffee, orange slices for free. I'd be almost disappointed if there wasn't a line! Inside is a wonderful electic explosion of Americana. Food is served quickly and plentifuly. I usually go for the corned beef hash and eggs. Great milkshakes and it's one of those places where you get the mixer can for that extra top-up. Free refills obv. I wish it wasn't cash only but there is an ATM inside so it's not much hassle.

I frequently go to Tom's for breakfast because the food and service are of very high quality. They have a long list of pancakes (the chocolate chip ones are my favourite), waffles and french toasts. They also make eggs and omelettes, the eggs florentine and the spinach and cheese omelette are really good. The food quantity is more than enough, the service is very nice and the food is brought quite fast. I've only been on weekdays, so I've never had to wait

Let's get the food part out of the way...it's good...pancakes are very good and the meat options are a plus. The downside are the potatoes as they need work...they appear to be pre-made and they heat them up when you order them If your in the area I would stop by but I wouldn't go out of my way for it

Tom's has been around since the 1930s. It's a destination in itself but also close to the Brooklyn Museum and Brooklyn Botanic Garden. It's typical diner fare, but served in a kitschy environment by friendly servers. Expect a line, but it moves faster than you'd think. The staff helps keep your blood glucose up by distributing orange slices and cookies to those on line.

take the subway to Brooklyn for an iconic diner experience bacon eggs and saute potatoes, corned beef hash eggs and saute potatoes, the coffee served from the jug! the interior is like out of those films and the staff are all actors in this play no frills solid tasty food ,you will feel like you have time warped back a while

Came once for the pancakes and then came back for the corned beef hash. Both were brilliant. Coffee is good. Came on NYD and the queue was massive but they appreciated the people waiting and gave samples and then some free soda floats after our meal. Great place.

Classic venue and serves a good breakfast. Service was friendly and brisk enough. Don't go if coffee's your thing.

Went there on a Sunday, early. The service was incredible and the food was good. Keep in mind, it’s cash only but they have an ATM onsite. Will probably go again

Very good omelettes, nice but quite solid pancakes. Superb service. Absolutely fair prices. Recommended!

We ate breakfast twice at Tom's in May 2017. Glad we were warned in advance that it is CASH only. Both times we avoided any major crowds and were quickly seated. The food was reliably good and the service friendly. The first morn I ordered the highly recommended lemon ricotta pancakes and was a bit under-whelmed. But my wife loved the crab cakes florentine. The next time we got great eggs+sweet potato pancakes and a generous BLT. The location is great for fueling up before a day of exploring Prospect Park sights and the Brooklyn Museum. We will definitely eat there again.

Tom's reminds me of a diner. It has a counter, tables and chairs, and also booths. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I had a chicken Greek salad wrap, which came with fries. It was delicious! So huge and filling. The service was great. Tom's is in walking distance from the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and The Brooklyn Museum. If you're in the neighborhood stop on in! If, you see a line ,just ask them how long it would be. I'm sure it won't be long. Enjoy!

I still cannot understand what the fuss is about at Tom's, it seems that in NYC if it's old then it must be good. Having read the reviews we were expecting something beyond belief, how wrong we were. We had to queue on a Sunday just to get in, pancakes, fresh crab cakes (deep fried???), fried eggs and potatoes. In total we paid $45 for the privilege. We've had a better breakfast at a cheap grease truck at the roadside. Certainly would not recommend!

Broccoli and cheddar omelette with Lemon ricotta pancakes and an iced coffee. Strawberry, berry, yellow butters on table really were a nice touch. If I went back I’d get Yuenling beer battered fish and chips with their homemade tartar sauce.

Yeah this restaurant is like old school style our food is good how is my first visit I've actually ate at restaurants is the area but my first time there I think I will go back again food was great

Wife, adult sons and I went there for brunch. It's a "diner" but the service was excellent, the food ranged from standard breakfast to unique breakfasts. The waiter surprised us with an "appetizer" (grilled sausage....kielbasa?........with lemon). Delicious! It is a very clean and friendly neighborhood type eatery. Hope we get there again.

Excellent breakfast menu ! Not much more to say . Everything is good . Sometimes that’s all there is

We had a great early lunch in this historic family owned diner. Tom's has a varied menu but go for the different flavors of pancakes and waffles with flavored butters. I had the light, fluffy lemon ricotta pancakes. Subtle flavor, yummy. We also tried chocolate chip and banana walnut pancakes and the 2x2, which is eggs plus pancake. The big portions were enough to take half home. On weekends, there is a line inside but it moves quickly. Regulars told us that when the line extends outside, waiters serve coffee to everyone waiting. How welcoming! Only a few blocks up Washington Ave, this is a go-to place when visiting the Brooklyn Museum or Botantic Gardens. Friendly service and fair prices. Very popular with locals.
10 Stars
If I could give Tom's double stars I would. We tripped over this gem before going to the David Bowie exhibit at the Brooklyn museum. Cash only!!!!! Food beyond fabulous. Meatloaf and eggs was great. Cherry lemonade great. I wish u had time to try the lemon ricotta pancakes and so many other unique items. Coffee was good and staff super friendly. A must!
