I had dinner here a few weeks ago while entertaining an out-of-town friend staying at the J.W. Marriott and who wanted to watch Thursday Night Football. Tom's Urban fit that bill. I had no knowledge of who"Tom" was but subsequently learned about Tom Ryan and Smashburger and Tom's Urban on their website. As someone who loves pubs and pints, this place ranked one star on this particular night. Their staff didn't know which beers were available because their beer list had just changed although they had not yet tapped several listed beers. Not a big deal, but - just sayin'. I had a Pulled Pork Sandwich that was under the category of "Food Truck Sandwiches". It was fine, but it was more Food Factory than Food Truck. L.A. Live is $2.5 billion dollar complex that pumps about 3.5 billion megawatts into the electromagnetic field - enough to demagnetize your VISA. Tom's Urban is equally big and boisterous - it's huge. While other restaurants in LA Live were showing a variety of sports, every single one of the many screens here at Tom's Urban was on football. It's a good place to track your fantasy league players. Having said all that, if you're a tourist that is new to L.A., the sidewalk seating on Figueroa offers a great view of L.A. street traffic of all types. You'll get a better sense of the diverse population of LA facing out on Figueroa than you would facing Chick Hearn Court and the interior LA Live mega-complex. The menu here is equally diverse, and the beer selection is actually pretty good. It's a fine place if you're at LA Live or need to catch a game. There are plenty of more interesting places nearby as well.

A lot of TVs, flowing beer and drinks, and so-so food (e.g., Disappointing garlic fries - warm, not hot, and uneven textures) shows that Tom’s Urban has followed the template for so many sports bars around the country. Nothing at all special about this place, and nothing that will make you necessarily stay away, since anywhere else you go (sports bar-wise) is likely going to be pretty similar. Plenty of drink choices and a limited menu will give you a lot of time to watch your sport of choice on any of the fairly well-placed TVs in the place. The proximity to the Stales Center likely means that plenty of folks will keep the doors open here for a while, though the quality of the experience is not something you will dream about. Service was good and prices were in line with expectations.

Nice place for drinks and food. Good beer selection, Friendly, Fast Service, food is fresh and excellent. Good value for the money.

This restaurant was horrific, they treated me like a dog, on February 14, 2023. The Manager is prejudice, he is a complete jerk, I hate him. He talked to me like I was a dog. He told me to never come to the restaurant again, because I took my bags to the restroom. He made me check my bags in, I had to give my bags to the Hostess, this was very unreal and unusual. How could you steal something out of a restaurant, it's not a store. The Manager is so rude, he doesn't need to be working in a public setting. The Manager doesn't know how to talk to his employees or customers. I overheard him yelling at the employees, and it was very bad. I have never been treated like this as long as I have been coming to Tom's Urban. I wish I could call the corporate office, to get him removed from the Tom Urban chain. I really feel that he is a racist, bigot, who doesn't need to be working with the public. He has problems, he shouldn't be working here, because he is a prejudice snake.

Sadly, we stopped here to eat and drink before a concert. First, bathrooms, both men and women was nasty beyond brief. No one must be cleaning them during the day. Smelled so bad I wanted to puke. Toilet paper all over the floor. Yucky. Second, drinks so watered down it is not worth the money. Bartender had no reply when complained. Third, food, is just so so. Forget it!

Stopped in after an even at the convention center a few blocks away in the early afternoon. We were seated right away and had our choice of indoors or outdoors. Our server was nice but a little slow to come check on us throughout our time there. A little more attention would have been nice. We ordered a burger to split and he didn't think to bring an extra plate until he saw me eating my half of the burger over my napkin. The food was good quality. We split the BBQ Jalepeño burger and it was top notch for a burger. We did order it without the chipotle sauce so that's one difference. But the brioche bun and flavor was wonderful. Overall, food = 5, service = 3.

I had to go twice to confirm that this was an average place at best. Both times it was at lunch. I found out if you ask them to changes a couple things, they say yes, and bring what they want. First time at lunch at 1:15. I asked for crumbled blue cheese, and grilled onions on my cheese burger. Got a plain burger with mushrooms. I said I didn't order this, the answer, as she looked at the order was, oh ya. Sorry about that and walked away. I said excuse me are you getting my correct order. She said that will take a while to get it! I said how long, she said 15 minutes or so.... She then said I'll knock something off the bill if want that one! I went a couple of days later with an associate, she ordered a salad, no onions and dressing on the side. She got the onions and dressing in the salad. It was different waiter he said, oh god they can't get anything right. He did exchange it for the correct salad, but it took ten minutes. Special orders do upset them, and they do it their way...not the customers way! Good luck, they have had two bad days. There are plenty of choices around LA Live. Why take the chance...

Went for lunch today with 3 colleagues and a client. Got seated. We ordered food. An hour later no sign of any of our orders. The girl waiting on the table only one flustered. Apologised. Sent a manager to the table who sort of apologised as if doing us a favour. Order comes out. Two of us had ordered mushroom tacos. Didn't come. One asked to eat shrimps in lettuce wraps, another given a plate where food had been thrown on it. The fourth doesn't get the dressing. Of course now that food has arrived, we ask for cutlery...another 10 mins and finally cutlery arrives. Manager again sent to the table....shrimp in lettuce gets replaced and I get my mushroom tacos which are half hearted attempts. We finish in ten minutes and are then told the meal is free. Despite that we left with a horrible taste in our mouths. We felt sorry for the girl who waited on us. Stay away.

We had Chicken Avacado Club Sandwiches with garlic fries and fried pickles. It was very good. You'll enjoy this restaurant.

Our waitress was excellent but the meal was very average. Actually, it was tasteless until they brought me some sauce which had been forgotten. Only reason why we ate there was the location. There was no other option on a Sunday afternoon in that area. We chose a table next to the footpath and were entertained by the passes by who had just been to a basketball match.

We were here with a group of people that were attending a convention. Even though there was people they seem unprepared and the service was quite slow. The food was also very mediocre and they would expect a lot better in a location like this. We would try someplace else nearby next time.

Went here before an Ice Hockey game for lunch and a few drinks and again for dinner after the Rams game. The meals were great. It has a nice atmosphere for people of all ages.

I stopped in Wednesday afternoon to a fairly empty place. The décor and atmosphere are a basic sports bar. There are TV screens of all sizes literally everywhere inside and out. You should be able to find your sporting event on one of the 100's of screens. I can see how fun it would be to come here and watch a game with friends. I was very disappointed in the craft beer selection. I have a definition for the types of craft beers offered here: Nationwide Craft Beers. It means a one time local craft beer became so popular that a major breweries and/or distributor purchased the brewery and made it available nationwide. At that point, it's not really a craft beer anymore. It's no different that Coors, Bud or other nationally distributed beer. I prefer and value local craft beers you cannot get anywhere else. Tom's Watch has beers on tap that you can find anywhere in the country. Go somewhere else like Yard House if you are a craft beer fan.

Kale romaine side salad was a joke. No dressing tiny bowl size of teacup, wilty stale greens, flavorless Pico DE Gallo. Service couldn't keep up at all with the pre concert crowd. Next time I'll just get drinks or snacks at Staples Center or elsewhere.

Stopped here for lunch during a convention at the convention center. There are a lot of restaurant choices in the area and I was really glad we stopped here. Great atmosphere, good attentive service, large food (and good food) selection, full bar, and even some good specials!

Came here for lunch, and left with an extra random 25$ charge that I didn’t authroize. Not sure what happened, called and tried to ask why and got no response

The food was good, the drinks were great and the service was amazingly. I went with friends on a Friday night ...great place to sit, talk, eat and drink. Our waitress kept our drinks full but was not overly attentive to the point of being disruptive. In other words. Perfect service. If you don't need to be entertained and just enjoy friends is a great place to go

We where here for a convention and enjoyed this bar a lot. This is a great Sportsbar, were you can choose a large variety of beers and food. We enjoyed watching the superbowl finals here, together with a large group of collaegues

This place was wonderful. $5 specials on food and anything that is poured! The chicken potstickers were delicious- wanted a couple more!! Great location too

Located a short walk from the LA Convention Center. We were seated immediately after arrival. Our waitress had excellent timing and we made the Happy Hour special. Drinks and appetizers were amazing. Who on Earth can make Brussel sprouts taste fantastic?! Tom's can. Our meals were delicious and large portioned. We had a fabulous time. Thank you!

I've been to Tom Urban's in Vegas before and never did I see lobster and shrimp tacos on the menu. However, in LA I was pleasantly surprised. The option to have a lettuce taco instead of the usual corn or flour tortilla was an added bonus. Our waiter Brandon was also a delight. Thumbs up!

Special thanks to Jesus, whenever our server couldn't help us he was on top of things checking on us and making sure we were well taken care of, Love to see someone who is so committed to doing the right thing even during busy hour, Thanks again Jesus !!

Stopped here couple of times whilst staying nearby.First visit wasn't anything startling but 2nd visit we sat in the bar watching a big fight on the tv. The atmosphere was great as was the waitress.Food is pretty good. The smores dessert is fab!

Had a really good lunch at Toms, a couple of street taco makes a just right size meal, They have the typical selection of sides if you need a carb fix but salads are also available. I was there for lunch but it looks like a good hang and great for people watching

Nice bar, great selection of beers on tap and plenty of screens to watch the game. Came here 3 times during my stay in DTLA as it was a great meet up spot for friends staying in various hotels. On the whole the staff are good, some staff have a little attitude, but that might be down to how busy the place is. We did have a slight issue one night with whether to get drinks at the bar or flag down a waiter. It was a very confusing system but the waiter did apologise and looked after us well once he realised the mistake. Food very average.

Sports bar... with food. Arrived early after a long haul flight and wanted to experience an "LA place". Great smile from seating agent, no smile from waiter who said all the right "script" but couldn't do any of the things I asked for -such as milk in my coffee! Long wait for 3 pancakes -with only enough syrup for 1 ... and guess what when I asked for more syrup? No can do. If this is the LA experience -I'll pass. I suppose if you're a sports fan, with all the screens, you don't really care.

Asked to wait 20 min with half the tables open. The bartender was the only plus! Waited 20 Additional min at the table for the waitress. Apps serves with entrees. Food cold when served but was ok. Absolutely no point to eat here. Place is a hot mess.

There aren’t many places like Tom’s in Australia so when we needed to kill some time before a Laker game it hit the spot. Plenty of TV’s to watch your favourite sport and a good range of food to choose from. If you’re heading to Staples for an event you could do worse than eating here beforehand.

There were many empty tables but they made you wait. We had a beer at the bar and we decided to leave after 15 minutes watching empty tables and no one to clean them.

so we stop here for happy hour before we go to the game. Their happy hour isn't the greatest, but we figured we'd have a couple drinks and snack before the game. We get here after 5pm (their happy hour ends at 6pm, boo) order a couple drinks and some pot stickers. The Cavs are on TV against the Warriors so we get into the game. The bartender doesn't let us know happy hour is almost over and doesn't ask if we want another drink until after 6pm, which we didn't realize til after he gave us a receipt, because we were watching the game. So we sent the drinks back. He had a manager come over, and instead of giving us happy hour prices, she had him dump the drinks. Horrible. Probably won't visit again.

If you're hanging out downtown at an event, hopefully a Kings Game ;-) Near the staple center or at LA live. Tom's Urban is right on the corner across from the Staple Center. It's a pretty cool bar restaurant and as far as bar food goes it's pretty decent. I like the vibe, the energy and the ambulance. It's also pretty clean for a bar and they have plenty of TVs and music playing. The staff are ok. Although they might be a bit understaffed when I was there so they can be kind of slow so if you're in a rush....

Great spot to catch all of the games. Villanova was upset, and Venezuela got blown out!! Margherita pizza was definitely on point though!

Monday night in LA Live. Sat at the bar and ordered small plates. I had buffalo chicken sliders and the wife had shrimp tacos. Both were excellent. The service at the bar was very good with all three bartenders waiting on us

I am a Food Scientist and hardcore foodie and this may have been my best meal ever. Got multiple small plates and it didn't disappoint. 10/10 recommend.

My son and I had a quick lunch here after attending the LA Auto Show and we should have kept looking for a better restaurant but we were starving. All in all it was just ok. I had the Carne Asada Tacos and they left much to be desired. Rubbery, uncooked corn tortillas filled with bland, dry steak. My son had the sliders and liked them a lot but he's 9 and very easy to please. The fries were good and our server was very nice. If you're hungry and want great food, this is probably not the place. If you want to drink huge beers, watch a million different sports on a bunch of large TV's and eat marginal food, this will be your personal paradise. The best thing this place has going for it is the location. Super quick walk from Staples and/or the Convention Center but there are also about 20 other restaurants in close proximity.

Visited here with 2 daughters & mother after an event on a Saturday evening. Its spacious & clean. I ate a Cuban sandwich & it was good. Daughters had burgers & they enjoyed them. Nothing fancy but did the job.

We came in after the kings game today for the $1 michelob ultras and jay served us right away! Great service and great deals, definitely coming back! ☺️

Sports fans haven -- what a fun place to watch a game. We were here for the baseball playoffs. Due to the location of this bar and grill in downtown LA with many hotels surrounding it, there was a crowd that provide to represent a variety of opinions about the teams. This resulted in shouts of joy and whimpers of disappointment with nearly every play during a very exciting game. We sat at one of the many bars (I think there are 3 of them) and had bar food and drinks of about 3 hours. We tried many dishes but the favorite was fried pickles. Go during happy hour when some of the beers an appetizers are $5 each. All of the bar staff provide to be real experts at what they do. Eagerly and easily serving the crowd that grew to be huge very quickly. Their efficiency was amazing to watch. Easy walk from area hotels.

Myrian was great! Good and atmosphere was amazing. Highly recommend. Came here for rock and roll induction. So wanted to about out the area. And stumbled onto this place. Had a bad review. But de used to give them a chance. I’m glad we did. Very laid back. Good people watching location.

Stopped in for a meal before a Kings game. Was PACKED, but we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table, so we waited in the bar and ordered a beer. Table was ready within 10 minutes. Service was quick and food appeared fast. Pizza was great, REALLY good pepperoni! Fish tacos were so-so - not a lot of flavour. Food was decent and beer was cold, even though we were wearing Calgary Flames jerseys ;-)

Worst restaurant to make a reservation for the Super Bowl I had made my reservation 30 days in advance and all of a sudden 7 days before the event they canceled my reservation just because their so greedy and wanted to charge $150 per person. Y’all really suck never coming back to this unprofessional restaurant.

Tom's Urban is a large restaurant on the corner directly opposite of the Staples Center. They offer a varied selection of typical sports grill foods, however they tend to make it their own with inventive ideas to spice them up. I highly recommend the Ginger Chicken Pot Sticker salad, which is loaded with spice! Also, the menu has a lot of vegetarian and vegan options, so pretty much everyone in your party can find something delicious. They have a decent selection of craft and import beers as well as a huge selection of other concoctions. If you want to catch a game of any sport, they have that covered with TVs everywhere.

We ate here before a game at Staples Center. We were seated right away and our waitress was great. She was helpful, attentive and friendly. The food was great. Lots of fans for the game were eating there as well so it made the restaurant and bar a lot of fun. We would definitely come back!

This is the place to watch the game. We loved the atmosphere, service and food. Their are screens everywhere. Our table loved the small plates.

If are in the LA Live area, this is a good spot to grab some food. I was in town for a convention and stayed at the JW Marriott. Stopped Tom's Urban twice for dinner. The food and service were both great. It's also a great spot to watch a game but it does very loud so it's hard to hold a conversation. The bar seating seemed quieter so you might consider sitting on that side if want less noise. The fried chicken dish was huge and could easily be shared. The beer list is good and has a few local selections. The mac and cheese is comforting but not anything spectacular. The tacos are a great choice and the selection is unique. It's a good place to go with friends or family but not for a business meal.

We have eaten at the TU in Las Vegas, and this offers the same menu and decor. The location is excellent, next to LA Live and Staple Center, and one block up from the Convention Center. They have a couple of different special times, for lunch and Happy Hour, if you can catch them. We did appetizers, and tried the fried pickles (excellent), the brussels sprouts (the table favorite), the calamari (very good, crunchy), the bahn mi pork belly tacos (excellent, but only three per order, so order more!).We also had the buffalo wings, which were very good as well.

Had a quick drink with my movie buddy at L.A. Live here and enjoyed it! Just had the house chardonnay but it was fine. We waited a few minutes for a seat at the bar because it was packed! There was a concert at the Staple's Center. So, we couldn't get a seat at our favorite restaurant. But, we didn't want a big meal anyway since the movie was starting soon. Big sports bar TV screens. Lots of tables. Nice server and bar tender. Steak, ribs, chicken and appetizers are on the menu. No street parking. There is reasonably priced lots a few blocks away though. Walk over and check out the stores and restaurants in L.A. Live and have a nice evening!

Best restaurant in downtown LA. Awesome food, service and helpful and friendly. Recommend it to anyone. Very close to Staples Stadium

On a Family vacation from Australia looking for a place with decent food at a reasonable price near Staples Center we found Tom’s Urban. If you like good food good portion sizes at a fair price then this is the place. We could watch NFL and NBA on the big screens whilst still being able to talk normally unlike other similar places where you have to scream to be heard. Server Jessie was very friendly helpful and always making sure we were ok. If your in downtown LA it’s definitely worth a visit for a drink and a meal.

In two words - don't bother. The food was simply bad. We ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos. They were bone dry and served on machine tortillas taken right out of the bag. The slaw came out of a bag and the guacamole dressing was squeezed from a tube. The outdoor table was filthy with dust and outdoor grime and was not wiped down. There was a Las Vegas casino vibe - loud music masking the zombie-like boredom of the other diners staring at video monitors. We so many other fine alternatives at LA Live, we won't be going back - until, that is, when this establishment changes management or goes out of business and is replaced with a restaurant that actually cooks their food and presents it in an appetizing manner.

I've been a few time here and I really like it. my friends and eye decide to go there before a Lakers game and the service always good!! but one thing I would never order unless they improve on it, im talking about the Steak/Beef Nachos I mean for the price I would to have some meat in them. so my recommendation for all of us the like finger food....DO NOT GET THE NACHOS OVER PRICED. WARNING places around L A LIVE area it's lil over price! ENJOY

Went here for a quick bite before the Laker game. Seemed like a neat place with an interesting menu. Was very busy due to the game and a Penn State rally for the Rose Bowl. Was seated quickly and server took our order promptly. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. Took forever to be served drinks. My wife and I had street tacos (steak and fish), and they were not good. Tortillas were stale, and there was barely any meat on them. I should have complained but we were in a rush to get to the game. Waitress seemed uninterested in us as she had many other tables with people drinking and eating a lot more. Her tip reflected this. Won't be back here. Try one of the many other options in the area.

Nothing spectacular, your average bar type place by LA Live. Went here after the Laker game, place had a nice vibe with lots of people, TV's everywhere, and good music playing. Vibe was the best thing about it though. The food was bland -- I had a lobster slider, and while there were large chunks of lobster (which was good), the sauce was lacking and didn't have much taste and the bread was a bit meh (like a day old dinner roll). Service was pretty bad -- while friendly, everything took a really long time (they were clearly understaffed for the number of tables / people).

We visited on a very busy night night, and had to wait approx. 15 mins to be seated. The service was great given just how busy it was. There is a great choice of food on the menu , there is also a good selection on the kids menu. The food was really good and plentiful. We order nachos for a starter - this was a mountain of nachos when it arrived and tasted great ( only order if your really hungry) The kids meal meal was great and a good portion. I had the Tacos which were lovely. The severs were great - when one left for a break she took the time to introduce the new server who would be looking after us during our meal. Good quality food at a reasonable price and excellent service.

Hung out for a couple of beers and sone nachos. Beer was great, the nachos too and the waiters were excellent - very patient as the kitchen had some issues with keeping up with the orders. But all worked out just fine - recommendable for sure!

We were told this was the best place in LA to watch the College National Championship game, and it was. The only problem was that the game started at 4:30 pm and the bar didn't open until 4 pm. I would think that if you have a major game like that, you would open a little earlier.

Horrible service Bartenders just disappear for extended periods of time Beers lukewarm and off taste Food average Avoid

There is a reason this place has little to no wait to get a table. The service is horrible, the food is average at best, the cost is off the charts. The manager is either clueless or knows how bad it is and buried her head in the sand. My favorite move of the night is when the server brought me a second beer, which I didn't order > "I didn't order this." "That's OK" - I now think "That's OK" meant, I messed up, no charge...wrong. Charged. By the end of the meal I didn't have the patience to fight the charge. They got an extra $8, and they also get this review -- hopefully you will not make same mistake we did.

Arrived at 2:30pm for a quick lunch, lunch hour usually quietens around then. The place wasn’t busy but our two chicken burgers arrived after one hour of waiting, which turned out to be cold, and the waitress and other waiting staff around didn’t care. We ended up leaving at 4:15, after asking for the cheque a few times. The nonchalant ‘sorry’ didn’t fix anything. We felt bad about not leaving a great tip but there would have been more if it was actually deserved.

We ate dinner here before the Stevie Wonder show. It was not crowded and the food was good. There are TVs everywhere so everyone can watch.

When we went here for dinner, there was a long wait on the bottom floor, but we were able to get right in upstairs to the UPour section. Food is limited, but we had the nachos, which were very good and enough for dinner for my husband and I. And we got to sample several beers on our own.

Wanted to grab a quick bite before seeing the game. We asked the waitress to recommended a drink and then came back and said they had run out of coffee for it. When we received are food the tacos were cold and wet (not from the fillings), the chips were barely warm. Very disappointed.

We were in downtown LA for a conference and it was the night of game 7 of the World Series. I asked the hotel concierge and he recommended Tom's Urban. As expected, it was very crowded because of the World Series but we were fortunate to garner a couple of seats at the bar. The large number of TVs made it very easy to watch the game and the large crowd created the kind of energy you want to experience in a game that was a real thriller. We are Cubs fans and found that most of the people around were as well. The exciting plays generated a lot of noise and enthusiasm. The bar service started out a little slow because of the large crowd but the bar tender came through for us as the game went into extra innings. I understand this is a former ESPN Zone bar/restaurant. It makes sense because it is a huge facility. The location is outstanding for sports fans.

We were at LA Live early on a recent Saturday morning and wanted to get brunch. There isn't much open at LA Live at 11:00 am on a Saturday, and we didn't want to spend a lot of time walking away from LA Live so we decided to try out Tom's Urban. We were suspect right from the start as the area of the restaurant in which they wanted to seat up smelled horribly of cleaning fluid - so much so it made us gag and we asked to be seated elsewhere. We were then shown to the far side of the restaurant - the hostess tried to seat our group of 4 at a booth that had a very large beer tap right in the middle of the table. We were there for brunch, not brews, so we had to be asked to sit at yet another table. We ordered: Bacon Two Ways Skillet - just ok. The "grits" tasted more like cream of wheat and it was served warm rather than hot. Veggie Spirit Omelette - again just ok. The toast was burnt and stone cold, the hash browns were also cold and the egg omelette itself might have been good if that wasn't also cold! Pot Stickers - these were served before anything else, even though they were ordered as a main dish (not an appetizer) - these were undercooked. Small Pot Mac & Cheese - we expected this to come in something like a small crock pot but it was served on a dish - ok so presentation wasn't as expected -- well the only thing hot about this dish was the jalapeno peppers it has mixed in with the pasta (not macaroni pasta either) and cheese -- it was pretty much inedible. Sirloin Sliders - way way overpriced for the quality, though at least these were served warm, though not hot. Service was mediocre at best. Do yourself a favor and pass on Tom's for brunch and walk a few blocks north to either The Pantry (be prepared to wait in line) or the Tavern immediately next to The Pantry.

Visited LA in between two soccer finals, Europa league and Champions League, this is the best place and closest to a soccer loving customer in a country where this is not an "approved" sport yet :) Their pork belly bites are really great! try them!

I think if you are into sports and drinking, this is the place for you. We stopped in while going to a conference. It was lunch time but were seated quickly. Lots of seating and a very large bar area. The first 6 pages are dedicated to beers and specialty drinks. I went for something new which was Fig Jam sandwich with bacon added. My wife had steak tacos. The sandwich was very tasty. The shoestring fries that came with it were good although only warm, which became cold fairly quickly. I tried my wife's taco and the steak meat was cold and she had just got them. Too bad. I really wanted to give this a higher rating as service was good but with warm to cold food, I can't. I think maybe they need to keep the food under the heat lamp until the server picks it up. Although I am guessing why it wasn't hot. The prices were reasonable for a LA Live restaurant. They did have a good selection of food. If in the area, I would give it another shot. I would recommend Tom's Urban. (To Travel Is To Live)

I love this place at night! The atmosphere is awesome. The burgers are a little under seasoned but they still pack juicy punch. Highly recommend the truffle burger! They also give quite a hefty serving of two different kinds of fries, which is awesome! Overall, it's definitely a casual night spot to grab a quick burger if your in the area!

Went to this place twice while attending a conf. Do NOT order the habanero peppers. They are "steamed" whole and had very little sauce to cut the heat. The fried brussel sprouts were very greasey. The wing were done nicely and the nachos were tasty. Servers were okay and generally attentive. Not good for large groups, though.

Ok, first, I'm a woman. But I'm a Philly "homer" and Villanova was playong for the NCAA title. When we asked for them to put the game on, they asked if we wanted the Laker game. Uh, no. Burger was acceptable, service was slow. All of our food came out individually.

20 minutes for a drink. 45 for food which came out cold. Sports bar that wouldn’t put on the USC game on ABC being played a few miles away. Got to watch BYU Northern Illinois! Stay away from this stinking pile.

It's big and a bit dark especially when you come in from the sunny LA streets. Lots of TVs with sports and music video's playing. We were there at 11 so was hard to choose between breakfast and lunch. I ended up with a pablano adobo (or something like that) burger. It was very good. Fries were thing thin and crunchy - just the way I like them. My son had an omelet - it didn't look so good. And his friend had the kale caesar salid which she said was pretty good. It was big enough! the waitress - who was busy but very attentive and helpful - told us they serve food when its ready but this doesn't work. who wants to eat alone...if we'd ordered tapas, that would make sense but we didn't. So girlfriend was about done with her salad by the time the omelet showed up and they were both about done when my burger showed up and it took a long time to get there. Very strange plan.

Our 8...not so great golfers...rented a house in Oceanside. When we learned our Leafs were playing at the Forum on Nov 13...road trip!! A couple of the guys had been at Tom's Urban previously and raved about the Prime Rib Philly Steak! We arrived early, got a great table and had wonderful service from our amazing Cdn lady Sierra, from Burlington!! Here is what we had... FRIED DILL PICKLES (V) $7 Hand breaded crispy fried pickle chips, green chili ranch. GINGER CHICKEN POTSTICKERS $8 Arugula, Sriracha, Asian glaze, cilantro. NASHVILLE HOT WINGS $13 Sweet and spicy cayenne seasoning, celery & carrots; your choice of blue cheese or green chili ranch. SRIRACHA BUFFALO WINGS $13 Sriracha buffalo sauce, celery & carrots; your choice of blue cheese or green chili ranch. PRIME RIB PHILLY CHEESESTEAK DIP $22 “Philly” style shaved prime rib, havarti, horseradish cream, butter-toasted brioche roll, beef demi-glace. CHICKEN CLUB $15 Roasted chicken, Applewood smoked bacon, fresh sliced avocado, cheddar cheese, mayo, butter lettuce, sliced tomatoes, brioche bun. Many, many draft beers from the incredible selection!! Great service and excellent meal!!

Not much you can say about Toms Urban, it's really an average sports bar, with poor service and average food

Food was pretty good and the service was, too. When full it is probably a bit of a mad house and noisy. We went right when it opened. Po boy Sliders were okay, but didn't have enough on them and asked for more sauce. Brussel sprouts were tasty and enough for 4 people. We ended up leaving half a bowl at the table. Many choices for seating areas, ours less desirable near the kitchen and bathroom, but needed a table for someone with short legs.

First went here in 2014 and we have been going back to it every time we are in LA. we have never had a disappointing meal. last time we were there out Home town hockey team were playing the LA Kings (Back home lol) so we were the lone Jets fans cheering in the sports bar, but everyone was welcoming.

I had dinner here with business folks. The food was good and the staff attentive. We organized this dinner several months in advance. The time here was seamless. Good drink selection.

We went here in the mid afternoon yesterday for an event happening at the Convention Center. The first clue that we had picked the wrong place for lunch is when I asked the waitress for utensils when our food arrived...she gave me plastic "to go" utensils even though we were eating at the restaurant! What?? They must have run out of clean utensils because the place was very busy. The service was poor the food was just ok, no reason to go back. They need to properly staff the restaurant when they expect large crowds prior to a game. Major "FAIL"

We stopped just looking for a small bite to eat before dinner. This place is great, awesome atmosphere, great wait staff and amazing food We only had a small snack, but these are the BESY wings I've ever had. The same for the calamari. If you visit, make sure you get the wings YUMMO

Tom's Urban is directly across the street from the Staples Center in the same complex as LA Live, which means it can get extremely crowded if you get there right before a game or show - or both. We were fortunately enough to arrive later in the evening and were seated right away. The volume was still loud, but you're at sports bar, so why wouldn't it be? Our server was Emily from Kansas, and she knew the menu like she was the chef. This place got 5 stars from us 15 minutes after sitting down and kept those stars by continued great experiences with fast service, mouth-watering food and just an overall enjoyable atmosphere. I started the evening with a beer sampler, choosing local craft from Santa Monica and other SoCal cities. For dinner, I had the XL Pickle Brined Crispy Chicken with Nashville Hot sauce. Emily explained it all to me because at first I thought "what on Earth is pickle brined?" Overall amazing experience, we'll definitely be back!

Great atmosphere for game watching. Friendly staff. All card. No cash. I asked for a burger medium and was told they are only done one way and that way was not specified. There were only 6 people in the place. Food was ok.

Friendly waitress. Food was pretty bad. Burnt pancakes, tasted like a packet mix. Hash was bland and starchy. Coffee was average.

Went out to grab some drinks and a quick bite, we ended up staying longer than expected because we had an amazing server named EVELYN! She really went above and beyond and service was timely even with the place packed with hockey fans! Calamari was phenomenal and so were the lemondrop shots! Our service was top notch! Thanks Evelyn!

Cool place to hang out after an event or game. Plenty of monitors to check your favorite game. Patio dining area promotes relaxation and chatting with friends (quieter than indoors). Lots of activity on the streets tonight - passerby, a couple of dancers in the sidewalk, cars… Good service and reasonably priced. The shareable nachos as an appetizer is good with a small group (4 people). A bit dry because there are more chips than the small amount of sauce, guacamole and sour cream can support. My friends who ordered drinks said that the drinks were well prepared and good. Public parking nearby. Costs vary. We only paid $15. There was a hockey game and the LA Auto Show today but plenty of public parking and seating at Tom’s Urban. Definitely a good place to chill with drinks and some appetizers.

We were down in the LA Live area at lunch time, so not much going on. We stopped in for lunch and was a real nice place. It almost seems like it used to be a ESPN Zone or Hard Rock in its internal design, lots of TVs, music videos showing etc... FUn place to stop and eat. Good mexican stuff, Just real solid food. Can imagine it being a fun sports bar type atmosphere at night

We were second in the door when it opened and after 25 minutes of waiting at our table and not even taking our drink order yet serving customers who had just arrived we got up and walked out. Servers were literally standing around doing nothing.

First impression when you walk in is this is a bar that is kind of a restaurant. There were only four other dining tables in use but a lot of people at the bar. The food was pretty good but the service was way below par. It's that feeling that you're putting someone out to ask for something. My family drinks mostly water so a good wait person is the one that comes around regularly for refills, this one did not.I actually had to ask twice for the check and then had to flag him down after he passed us several times to take our payment. Not sure how the bar service was, but I'm sure much better.

Staying down the street at the Indigo and I saw this place online with some negative reviews but we decided to try it anyways. Tonight there was a Lakers game so we thought we might have to wait but were seated right away. Charlie was our server and did a great job keeping my wife and I supplied with beer. Kids had grilled cheese and a burger slider and they liked them both. Wife had BBQ chicken pizza and she said it was excellent. I had the Austin BBQ sandwich and that was very good also. So we had a very good experience and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to an event.

The wait staff was friendly but the place was so damn loud you couldn't really converse with them. Don't think I got the beer I ordered. Food was decent. Pricey but expected in that location. Both men's and ladies room were dirty dumps... graffiti even in men's room.

Had cocktails here before the Laker/Nets game. Nice outdoor seating area and great service. Close to the Staples Center.

My colleague and I stopped in for lunch after a long travel day so we came very hungry. We ordered two sides to start (Edmame and the Fries). For our main courses I had the shrimp po boy sliders and they were fresh and fantastic. Overall I would recommend to anyone who is near LA Live to give it a try.

Pizza was terrible. Fish tacos were very small but pretty good. Server was nice but inattentive and slow.

Visited during happy hour. Had a drink which was served by a nice friendly young lady who then disappeared and was replaced by another bartender. I would have tried an appetizer or two if we had ever been given the timely opportunity to order. Others eating around us had food that looked good. I cant say much more about it because we didnt stay long enough

Located in a prime spot at LA Live (right adjacent to Staples Center) this large eatery has a sports bar feel but an upscale vibe. We came here for a sending off gathering for a co-worker and were not disappointed. Despite there being some type of game at the Staples center (it was super crowded with pre-game peeps getting a bite to eat) the service was super fast and accurate and the wait staff managed to be friendly and professional. This is not easy to do when it is that busy. We all got what we had ordered the wait staff was flexible with our party because we kept getting new co-workers joining us later and later. All in all, we had a fantastic time thanks to the staff at Tom's Urban and the food selections were surprisingly good. Mid-priced but you won't be disappointed and the quality is very good considering it is really a giant pub. Please check it out, you won't regret it!!

Perfect place to be... This is a place where you can watch on a bunch of screens the sport events...the food and drinks are good and it’s very well located right across the Staples Center...

Glad to finally sit in the Tom's Urban for an American food bar experience. Heard a lot of good things about the Tom's in Vegas and was pleasantly surprised to find TU just around the corner from LA Live after a night event at Microsoft Theatre. It was not packed for a Saturday night and the service was super attentive. Lots of TV screens and noisy background music making intimate conversation impossible. We chose the food truck dishes and shared Adobe chicken taco (3pce) and salmon Hoppi. Both well presented and very tasty. The price was reasonable for a Downtown eatery. quite enjoyable.

If you are looking for a restaurant with good food and great vibe, Tom's Urban is the place. Right across the street from Staples Center is a convenient place to eat before or after the game. And with tons of TV's you will not miss any action. Try the crispy chicken or frog legs (they go fast - no pun intended!).

Stopped in for lunch on Sunday. Waitstaff was nice, restaurant not crowded, ambience good. I ordered a salad with shrimp, avocado, cucumber, tomato, and egg. I got a giant plate that was HEAPED with spinach (no other greens). Yes, there were 6 small shrimp buried in the spinach. In addition, there were maybe two tablespoons of chopped tomato and cucumber, half a hard-boiled egg, and a few slices of avocado. Basically, they were charging $15.00 for $4.00 worth of spinach. Total rip-off. There are many other restaurants in the LA Live are that are much better, like Cleo and Katsuya.

It was a good option for a lunch close to the convention center, prices are average I think, sweet popatoes were good but the burgers wasn't what expected, it was too flat, no flavour but anyway the place is good and they certainly have something tasty on their menu.

Avoid this place, unless you crave food that is lower than mediocre, service that is marginal, and a terrible selection of craft beer. This place is very corporate, without a nanogram of creative juice. And over priced, for what it is. Avoid. Nothing there. A ghost of a pub.

We stopped in around 1:00P.M. on a Friday to pick up some food to go before we had to leave for Union Station. When the three of us walked in there were four staff members standing around the hostess station talking. We were not greeted, but I told them that we were looking to place a to-go order. We were then told we had to do that at the bar. We went and sat down at the bar, but we didn't see an employee for about 10 minutes. When a woman finally arrived she walked over and threw 3 menus at us and said she was going to need to see I.D.'s to order drinks and walked away before I could tell her we wanted to place a food order. She vanished again and after another 5 minutes we got up and left. Some businesses just rely on their name and location and customer service is an afterthought - this appears to be one of them. We will not be back.

I ordered a black bean burger and garlic fries. The burger was the thinnest, saddest patty I’ve ever seen. And it was saltier than the fries. Annette provides good service, but I won’t be back. That was the worst $25 I’ve had to spend on lunch in a very long time.

Short walk from the Convention Center. We were seated within 15 min on a busy Saturday night and it took that long only because we wanted an outside table. The menu is large, the food was good with large portions and the people watching was fun.

Went in a few times whilst in LA. Food is reasonable & rather nice but not the best around. Service the first time was hit and miss with things missing off the order but the atmosphere and amount of TVs are great, especially when visiting the Staples centre for a basketball game

Stopped here before an event at the Staples center. Food was good and service did their best however it was definitely hectic in there. Food took a long time. Server apologized. Ron Artest (MWP) was there signing which didnt help.

Hosts were rude and not accommodating in the least, just flat out chose to go someone else, It’s true 1st impressions are lasting ones.. Will not be going back! Sad to as it looked like it would have been a nice spot..

We went on a Saturday that happened to be an LA Kings game at the Staple Center. The place was packed with Hockey fans, and the wait was up there for awhile. Best thing on the menu is the Cuban sandwich. I think they do this one credit, though ask for a little mustard on the side for a kick. Also good is the Green Chile Chili, thick and flavorful with green chiles and pork.

Interesting restaurant, good ambience, close to the hotel and easy access from everywhere. All of the food and beverage selections were good, easy to produce, and enjoyable to all of our 70+ guests. Glad to be there and enjoying everything. All of our private event guests were very satisfied with this restaurant. Will definitely come back! Great selection of food ranging from chicken wings, chips and salsa, dumpling (to die for!!), beef teriyaki, noodles, and a decent selection of alcoholic beverages / cocktails etc. Also, HIGHLY ATTENTIVE staff!! Bravo !

We were lucky to stay right next to this place. We ordered the shrimp avocado salad both times . Best salad ever! Also the lobster and shrimp street tacos were the bomb. For breakfast the beach bum omelette and hash browns were delicious. My son liked the spicy fried frog legs. Great service both times by Ro and Adriel. Coming back the next time we’re in LA!

If you need a quick bite before the ball game or come watch a game at their bar, Tom's is the place. They have nice tapas style menu with more than 30 draft beers available. Definitely worth giving a try.

We walked in and a young lady brushed by very fast and said hello and kept going. We stood at the front desk for about 10 minutes and my wife walked over to the bar and asked the bartender if we were to seat ourselves. The bartender said if we wanted a table the hostess would seat us. Another couple of minutes the young lady came back and I asked for a booth (which there were several open) and she said do you want a half booth with chairs I said no we would like a booth. Long silence and she asked if want a half booth with chairs I said no we would like a booth. I than said that is ok we will go elsewhere. A man who walked up and was standing next to her said we want you here and told the young lady to show us to a booth, great. We sat down looked at the menu waited another 10 minutes or so as several servers walked by. We were just about ready to leave when a young man asked if we had been helped we told him no and we had been waiting for over 10 minutes. He said he would get our server and turned and said no I will wait on you. That is when things turned around. The server Jonathan was very friendly took our order, I had Chimichurri Steak Tenderloin (Argentinian style marinated steak tenderloin char grilled, topped with chimichurri sauce) and a green salad. The steak was cooked a little more well than medium rare but very tender and very good flavor. My wife had Prime Rib Sliders with sweet potato fries. The prime rib was very tender and juicy. At the end of the meal we had a very nice short conversation with Jonathan, he made the visit to this restaurant pleasant and kept us from walking out and deserves 5 bubbles.

We've been there yesterday for lunch, Family of 5-2 adults 3 teens. Super friendly waiter, food was good. Decided to go back today for dinner. Friendly waiter-he was just never around........he was sitting with other guest, chatting. No drink refills for our plastic!!!!cups, our food came but we had no forks at the table-only knives. After 10 minutes he showed up again, grabbed a few forks from neighbor tables. Didn't bother taking appetizer plates away. Plates were piling up, again no refills. Then he brought the bill but the kids, wanted chocolate cake--still no plates left our table. Cake came, new bill came.....we paid, we left--forever!!! This place would have great potential if waiters would actually do their job and care about their customers!!

Toms is a great sports bar with more than 80 screens to see with your friends any sports event. Whether you like Football, Soccer , basketball or UFC, Tom's is the place !

We stopped in this place for a quick bite to eat before a concert. Next time we pass this place by for the next. Service was sub par and food was a cold corn tortilla with some onions and cold meat! Really my two year old can make a better taco than that. Was so not impressed with this place.

Cold food and poor service leave me wondering why they serve breakfast? We were the first customers of the day. Simple orders and my hashbrowns were served nearly raw. This isn't a good day for them. Simply open for lunch only if you can't handle the breakfast crowd? Especially when you have The Pantry within walking distance??

Not that impressed with the service but would go back anytime. Service person missed 1/2 of our food order and came back 3 times before I was able to get a beer that they had. I recommend that you go there though. Great location..

Friendly service and great food. It was before a Lakers game so it became chaotic a bit before. People were having a blast. Would recommend for any sports event.

Visited for a quick bite and beer. Good food, cold beer and excellent server. Our server had the best attitude and personality. Close to convention center an service was quick.

Thanks to Abraham and Natalie for exemplary service. Happy hour prices were excellent. Best "bites" at only $5 were the ginger chicken potstickers and enhanced edamame. All drinks 50% off made my 14 Hands Red Blend a delicious buy. Great pre-game stop.

We stopped for dinner prior to attending a Lakers game. We were seated immediately in a spot we chose. The service was quick and friendly. The food was amazing. We will definitely return.

Nice place to grab a drink or quick meal. If you're a soccer fan be sure to stol.in on Saturday afternoon. FYI if there is an event going on at Staples center this place is a zoo.

Waitress was sweet but the food was subpar. The All-American burger had a huge, over-salted and extremely greasy patty which soaked the bottom part of the brioche bun. I was not impressed and I will not be back, at $15 for a burger and tots I expected a much tastier burger.

Listen, this is the place to be if you ever want a venue. Contact Denise; she's the event director, and she is fantastic! She was prompt and very accommodating in every detail, which made me happy. Even better was Evelyn, my host, who catered to every need my family and friends needed. Please seek out Denies as well as Evelyn and you'll be in good hands.

Was at a conference at the convention center and tried this place for lunch. I had the carne asada tacos with a strawberry lemonade. The tacos were okay only because they put a very small amount of meat in this large tortilla. If they used the small tortillas then it would make sense to put a little bit of meat. The part of the tortilla that didnt have meat was cold so I just cut if off.My hubby had a sandwich with fries. The fries were lukewarm...bummer. But the sandwich was good. My strawberry lemonade was the best thing out of everything. It was very tasty. I probably would not return to this place. So many other choices in the area.

I ordered a burger which was tasty but I also ordered the loaded fries which came cold and weren't very good. I had the Firestone 805 blonde ale and it is now my new favorite beer. I got a 40 ounce which I needed two hands to lift and it took me an hour to drink. The place is enormous and was not crowded when i was there. The bar staff were busy and didn't come around too often but they were nice and attentive when present. I would maybe try this place again if in the area but would order something different.

Great place in an Excellent location! Literally a super happening restaurant directly across from the Staple Center! Fun Fun Fun then walk 1 Minute to the Game - Awesomeness!

This is a very large staging area for Staples Center events across the street from the arena. It was the only place open at LA Live on a Sunday morning before Cirque do Soleil's performance across the street so a heathy crowd gathered there for some refreshment before the show. We started with a very respectable Bloody Mary followed by a large slightly spicy corn cake topped with fried chicken served with butter and maple syrup. A nice takeoff on chicken and waffles. We also had the grilled Brussels sprouts appetizer as a light healthy small snack. The grilled sprouts weren't crunchy but still quite tasty in a sweet savory sauce. Tom's Urban has a great choice of beers, wines and mixed drinks and a food selection to satisfy most palates. While I wouldn't go there as a stand alone restaurant, it's a good choice for a meetup before an event at the Staples Center.

Went there with a friend to watch the USA Mexico game. Had a great time. Good Sports Atmosphere. The party was thrown by LAFC. The IPA was really nice, Portobello Mushroom Tacos were good. Hummus was excellent.

This is a great place to people watch if there is an event at the Staples Center and you get outdoor seating. The drinks were very good!

Every other beer on the menu was unavailable...now picture this; the waitress doesn't know which beers are available until she takes your order to the bar tender. Needless to say, we left and went to the Yard House where they were absolutely set up for success by good ole Uncle Tom.

Expect the place to be packed and have to wait when there is an event at the Staples Center. We went NYE when the Kings were playing. Had to wait about 45 minutes but to be honest, this was shorter than the other neighboring restaurants. The place is loud and lively. Thought they had good choices - my wife had sliders and I had tacos. Friends also had tacos and cornbread pancake meal. Pretty much exactly what I expected for a reasonable price. I can see why some people would complain about the wait time or the service on event nights, but hey what would you expect? If you go for a 7:30 game/concert, make sure you are in the door no later than 6.

We ended up eating here twice during our stay. The nachos were AMAZING - a must try! Servers were helpful when it came to the menu and ordering. Can't beat a 40oz Blue Moon for $9 during happy hour. If I am ever in the area I will revisit.

Great place for a few drinks after being at staples centre for a game Staff are friendly and all round good vibe!

If you want to have a good time and are in the LA Live area, this place really moves at night. Food and drink are reasonably priced and the activity level is high.

Crowded and disorganized. That was mostly what I saw. Granted, I was there for a concert, so I expected a large crowd. I was lucky enough to make small talk with two people at the bar who were leaving and gave me their seats. The bar was easily four deep, the wait at all nearby locations was well over an hour, so that was such a score. I say disorganized because our bartender messed up our bill-twice. He gave me someone else's bill and credit card, which I caught (we both had AmEx). Then, when I received "my" bill and credit card, someone else's tab was on it along with mine, which took three days for my card to sort out. I had to point that out as well. And, after already making what could have been a huge identity error, he just seemed irritated that I was asking for the second correction, as if I was the problem. Didn't appreciate the attitude on that. One bartender was loudly complaining about a cheap tip trying to get her point across to the cheap tipper-I get it, that is annoying, but be nice and share it with staff, not me. A real joker paid with thirty dollar coins, which is just obnoxious. What seemed to be the problem was that bar staff was understaffed, it was a concert night, and they had no control of the situation. They were understandably annoyed at drunk people, so they kind of took it out on the not drunk people. They also ran out of the first two items I ordered, which was a bummer, and let me wait a half hour before letting me know, so food arrived well over an hour later. On the plus, the location is great-easy access to Staples. One stop food and concert location. Prices are decent-not overly expensive for the location. The food we did receive was excellent. I loved my meal. Our drinks were excellent-but it was craft beer, so nothing spectacular there.

Located directly across the street from the Staples Center, Tom's Urban is a fine place for a pre- or post-game meal or drink. I had their chicken Caesar salad and it was not only tasty but there was a great deal of chicken in it. The server was very attentive. Parking is a bit costly, but, if you are there for something at Staples Center or going to L. A. Live anyway, you have already paid for it.

This is a busy place, but they found room for the 12 of us. We did have to run down a waiter to take our order, but after that everything ran smoothly. There is an option on the menu to choose two dishes for, if I remember correctly, 10 bucks. It was the best value of any restaurant we ate at near the Staples Center.

The Environment, food and drinks as service are great!!! Really good place to chill with your other significant, family or friends.

Good menu for both cocktails and food. The wonton salad was a interesting twist from usual salad fare. Well worth trying the staff are exceptional.

Great staff, good selection of burgers, salads. No rush to leave, even though thecrestaurant filled quickly with other conventioneers. Nice selection if IPA beer, and regular beers on tap.

Toms urban is located right across from the Staples center. They have great food. It’s nothing fancy but a nice sit down. The service can be a little slow so leave enough time if you are heading to a show.

When visiting the Staple Center drop in at this establishment. They have a great menu and selection of libations. But no matter what you decide to order, don't leave without trying the duck wings. They are to for.Kind

i have been here a few times. the drinks are what you would expect as far as price. the food is decent also. the size of the place is purdy big. it has a med. sized patio area. the bartenders are nice. it gets packed @ times so make reservations if poss.

The service at this restaurant was horrible. It took a while to get a seated outside and our server was not on point. The food was not that great and we had to go inside to pay for our check.

While attending an event at the LA convention center I needed a bite to eat. Toms urban was within quick break walking distance from the west hall. Service was spectacular, Roxanne -our food goddess- was great , cheery and quality suggestions. I had the Cobb salad and pork chili both were fresh tasty and worthy. Definitely will return

We went to Tom’s Urban for the first time on Saturday, April 7th. We went there around 10:45 am with the specific intention of having brunch, but when we arrived we were told that they were no longer serving brunch. If that’s the case, that’s fine, but I feel that for such a prominently visible restaurant (caddy-corner from the Staples Center), the implementation of “no more brunch” was not good. The time on the door still reflected the brunch opening time of 9 am, and there was a sign just to the right of the host stand with part of the brunch menu on it. The brunch menu was still ok their website as of the night before our visit, and you can still view the brunch menu from here on Trip Advisor. We stayed for lunch and it was just ok. My kids liked the Mac and cheese a lot. Our server was really nice (I’m afraid I didn’t catch his name!). The inside is very nice and there’s lots of seating inside and more outside. Just kinda bummed about not being able to grab some brunch before the game we attended.

At a conference for several days & this is the closest restaurant - the food is lovely, the drinks are fab & Nydia, who served us, was great - so friendly & funny. And everything is reasonably priced - what more could you want?

This place is basically a slightly more hip and trendy TGI Fridays at the LA Live complex. It looks like a fun and enjoyable sports bar, but its execution is below average. First, the whole place vaguely smells like stale beer with a little vomit mixed in (haven't see carpet in a bar before, poor decision). Second, the menu seems mixed with some interesting options but pretty standard bar food in the end (also, was highly concerned by the labeling of Stella as a "craft" beer). Finally, our waitress came over about 2/3 through our meal to say she was checking out but another waitress could help us. These things don't a good restaurant make. Downtown LA is experiencing a renaissance and there are far better options within walking distance to try.

Good place to stop with friends before or after a visit to Staples Center. Nice sports environment, reasonable service, but the food is average at best.

LA Live was jammed prior to last night's Adele concert at The Staples Center (there was a show at the Microsoft Theater too) and it was difficult to get a reservation anywhere. We managed to slip into the bar just off the street for drinks and a quick meal. Initially, we were told there was a 30 minute wait for a table even though there were spaces open at the bar tables. We had really good tacos and lobster sliders plus great selection of beer. We watched the first half of the Rams-Dallas game on the TVs before going to the concert. The bartender (stationed at the street bar) was very efficient and gave us great service (thank you!).

Terrible worse service 2.5 hours to get food food cold. Never come here. Had to beg a manger to come to the table never got a drink refill

Was there for a business based private party. Food was good quality and wait staff service was quick, efficient and friendly

We enjoyed spending some time at Tom's Urban and appreciated Andy at the bar for making my daughter feel at home until we arrived to pick her up. Loved the steak nachos and the adult beverages were very good as well. This is a good place to hang out with friends so make sure you stop by before a Laker, Kings, or Clipper game.

The restaurant was nearly empty, our server forgot about us. Once we got our food the salads were ok but the Mac and cheese looked like it sat under the heat lamp all day; dried crunchy and unappetizing.

We stopped in for dinner before a Lakers game. As we expected, the place was packed, but we had gotten there with plenty of time before the game, so it was a pleasant surprise when the hostess said the wait would be 20 minutes. After 35 minutes I asked how much longer and was told a table was be cleared. 10 minutes later we were actually seated (45 minutes total). Our server was polite and got to us pretty quickly. We had our drinks in short order. Dinner, pizza and a burger with fries, arrived almost 20 minutes later. Everything was just above room temperature. My wife was so hungry she decided to have her pizza, cold or not. I just couldn't eat a cold burger with soggy fries, so I sent it back. Instead of having it replaced, I asked them to take it off the check and I'd eat elsewhere. The waiter didn't apologize, he just took my plate away. No staff ever came to apologize or discuss the matter. When the check arrived it was correct, 2 drinks and the pizza, but no discount for the inconvenience. We left and went to the game with a vow NEVER to return to Tom's and to post this review to warn you folks! Everyone makes mistakes, but when almost every member of your service team does and not one of them apologizes or even acknowledges their mistakes, it's an organization-wide issue!

There were many available tables yet we were seated next to the serving station. The waiter never took a drink order. For the meal the waiter stood at the computer and yelled at us to get our order. No napkins provided. The potstickers were lukewarm, the fried pickles were good. The arugula salad had only a piece of orange for dressing. The waiter never returned to check on the meal. We will not return.

We popped into Tom’s before a hockey game. It’s adjacent to the Staples center. We were told there would be a half hour wait, even though we counted at least ten empty tables, and no visible waiting line. Finally were told to head upstairs where there was a limited menu, and that you had to serve your own beer. Curious, we head up where there were plenty of tables. We ordered from an attendant, after giving a credit card. We were also given a card to purchase drinks from taps on the wall. You pick a beer, wine, or other, put your card in a slot, and pour as much beer as you want. The price is then displayed. My tap, unbeknownst to me, was left open and before realizing this, had run up a $10 tab. After explaining to the attendant, she graciously wiped out my tab, as well as the tab my daughter had previously rung up. The food we had ordered was then promptly delivered. It was excellent. So we had our meal, got to the game on time - and our team won!

Having walked the Strip for what seemed forever, decided on a drink at this establishment ( within New York New York) and settled for a very pleasant ale ( wife had a Bud light- oh dear!). The 39 - yes 39! - beers available were expensive ranging from about $8-50 to $ 10 for a pint but we were thirsty! We paid at about 4-05pm not realising that this was within happy hour so all beers were about $5 ( unless there was a mistake by the barmaid or whatever they are called in the US). The barmaid was young and extremely friendly supplying me a sample of the strongest beer in the place- 11%. I made do with a pint at 5.7 %. So, go at happy hour 4-7pm get some good beer, cheapish and say hello to the lovely friendly dark-haired lady behind the bar!

My review title summarizes the experience. Ate here on a Saturday night when no major activities at LA live, then breakfast the next morning. For dinner tried the Cuban sandwich - which was nothing at all like a real cuban sandwich and generally mediocre in taste. For breakfast tried egg BLT sandwich. It was on soggy white break and missing the tomato and very mediocre. Had every game I wanted to see. Great beer selection. Servers were attentive and efficient.

I do NOT give low ratings unless something is terribly wrong. 3 things were terribly wrong. 1. Service - it was lunch. It was pretty slow. Drink orders came quickly but then a long delay until we could order. Food came in ok timeframe. Iced tea went empty (my pet peeve) and waitress walked by over and over without even looking our way. I tried a big smile and wave, a polite excuse me but nothing got her attention. About the time I was finished eating she stopped by and actually asked, "did you need a drink refill"? Bad service! 2. I went to use the restroom and they are out of soap. 2 store bought soap dispensers and I had to rinse one out to get a tiny bit of soap. So, how do employees wash their hands after they use the restroom? I'll leave it at that...Bad situation! 3. I chose the Cuban. The description made it seem like this is a very popular item. It was terrible! I'm not picky...it was terrible. It looked like a tiny grilled cheese sandwich with one thin slice of store bought ham. TINY! Couldn't see the Carnitas they raved about. Only had pickle on one piece. Couldn't taste the mustard. Literally a tiny thin grilled cheese...for $13.00! Number 2 is enough to keep me from going back but with the other two items, that was my first and last visit!

Stopped in on a Sunday, looking for a late lunch. Ordered a Bloody Mary and their large prime rib french dip. The Bloody Mary was good. They have two sizes, I opted for the smaller. The sandwich was huge and served with a great au jus to dip in. I liked that there was a good amount in the bowl. No one likes running out of juice. I sat at a high top table. The place was not very busy (due to Sunday, downtown and no sports). The staff was great and attentive. Overall a good lunch. The menu has lots of really interesting combos. Certainly enough to warrant future trips.

We happened upon this spot after visiting the Grammy Museum. At first we were wary because it was full of construction workers and we were a group of mostly women, but it was all good. The “progressively priced” appetizers were a great feature, starting at $3 then going up a dollar each hour. Evelyn, our server, got our food and drink order in with a quickness do that we could take advantage of the $3 price tag. The chicken potstickers were really delicious and we had several orders of those! The fellas thought the tacos were too small, but tasty. The fried pickles were a great disappointment; otherwise, the drinks were on point and flowing thanks to Evelyn. We will definitely go there again when we are in LA!

We headed to Tom's after a Laker's game as the traffic congestion made it pointless trying to head home. There were lots of people out on S Figueroa St but we had no problem getting a booth for our group of 7. Some of our drinks orders were wrong when they came (probably due to a combination of the noise in the bar and English accents) but these were corrected without any fuss. None of us were that hungry but we had bar snacks to soak up the cocktails and beer. There was a nice buzz in the bar and if we had got to downtown earlier then we should definitely have had pre match drinks in Tom's - it's a much more appealing space to have a drink than the Staples Center lobby!

We stopped at Tom’s Urban before a Lakers game today. LA Live hypes “come early, stay late” but Tom’s at LA Live should say “leave early because your food and drinks will be really late”. Place was mostly empty but it took forever to get service or to get our drinks once we did order. One person ordered a beer from the menu only to be told once everyone else’s drinks finally arrived that they didn’t have it anymore. He had to reorder and wait for a 2nd eternity for a different beer. There were plenty of staff around too.

We stopped by for drinks prior to our dinner reservation and stayed longer than expected. Our server was fun and made great drink and appitizer suggestions. The sports bar atmosphere was perfect and the people watching fun.
Brunch!
A wonderful brunch with great service. I enjoyed the new omelette (I can't remember the name) but it had green chili. It was wonderful! I sat at the bar with a friend and bartender was great.
