My son and I met here for breakfast and it is always great! The go-to taco is the barbacoa; which is some of the best in San Antonio. Tommy's has been around for many years and has always maintained its standard of high quality food and service. This place always has a crowd but there are plenty of seats for everyone. Servers are friendly and they make you feel at home. Parking can be a bit of an issue but if you get creative you'll find a spot. ;) We love this place and I encourage you to give them a try. Thank you Tommy's for being one of the best!!!!!

Tommy’s restaurant is located in a small strip mall on San Pedro. The parking is not wider work so you have to have to tommy’s restaurant is located in a small strip on San Pedro. The parking is not bidirectional, so you have to go in one entrance. Although I saw people park in the wrong way in the parking lot. This restaurant definitely has a Mexican feel, especially with all the bright colors in the varried styles of tables and chairs, which adds to the ambience. Although there were some decorations on the walls, there weren’t a lot. Something I did like is that there were a lot of family pictures hanging around the restaurant. The wait staff were very inviting and did a great job taking care of our table. I have to admit, I’m not used to having more than one waitress (which was nice because there was little wait for coffee). For breakfast we had 2 tacos de lengua guisada (beef tongue cooked in a sauce, interesting) and 2 tacos de tocino huevo (bacon and egg); both were good but not great. It is the first time I’ve ever had beef tongue tacos made in that fashion. To be totally honest with you, I’m not sure that I’m a fan. We also had a couple cups of coffee, which were good, but again not great. Tommy’s is a cute little restaurant and for the price, has decent food.

Tommy's is famous for Barbacoa and Big Red, I'm not so adventurous for breakfast but as always this place was packed!! I went with the huevos a la mexicana with sausage and they were tremendous...Tommy's has some of the best tortillas I've had in San Antonio as well....not expensive at all!! Multiple locations in town..

This is another place where a colleague and I usually eat at once a week. Their daily specials are great and with a drink, lunch will cost you about $7.00. The service is very good also.

Was ready to be home after a 3 week vacation to Alaska. Although we were waited on hand and foot on our cruise with Oceania, we really miss our Mexican food, They try however, but not up to our standards. Tommy's has the best Puffy Tacos I have ever had so on our first day back had to have them. My husband likes their Menudo and their Steak a la Mexicano and of course with guacamole. It is a staple in San Antonio for Mexican food can't wait to have more of their Puffy Tacos. I might add that their Carne Guisado is also delicious as are their rice and beans.

You know the place is great when it is packed with locals at lunchtime! Went here the other day for the first time and I will be back. Great food, great prices and a friendly staff make for a great meal. We had a group of 8 and we were taken care of quickly and all the food was out at the same time. Everyone in our group enjoyed their meals. Take the time to visit this local place!

This place is the real deal local establishment. Was recommended by some locals. Neighborhood looks a little sketchy but don't let that deter you. It is a Mexican restaurant. The place was busy. The service was outstanding. The bacon, egg, and potato taco was delicious as was the chorizo taco. The prices are very reasonable. Three of us ate here for about $20.

We went to Tommys for breakfast today. We both had Huevos Ranchero. Mine with bacon and my husbands with Carne Guisada. Here's the pluses: Solid simple Mexican food Speed of food and service. Prices Everything was good. Might kick up the potatoes- increase seasoning. Maybe increase the heat a bit so the potatoes had a bit of crisp. Beans and tortillas were amazing. Salsa on eggs was good. Menu had good basic options of tacos, breakfast plates and sides. Seat yourself. We had set down for a few minutes and our waitress brought our menu. Immediately took our drink orders and was back in great time. There are so much staff there is no way you would wit long for anything. We left full for a good price.

We were on our road trip and arrived near Tommy's on 12830 Silicon Dr #2, San Antonio, TX 78249 for a fuel stop. We chose Tommy's as it was nearby and we did not want to loose time looking for a place to eat. I was disappointed when I found out they pretty much only serve breakfast tacos. However we ordered. I had 2 sausage and egg tacos and the wife had an omelette. The tacos were awesome. Scrambled eggs with sausage and spices. 2 was just about more than I could eat, and I am a big guy. The place was pretty full with what appeared to be locals. They also have a drive through that stayed plenty busy while we ate our meal. Good place, good value.

Great place to enjoy traditional San Antonio Mexican fare. Ask for the daily lunch special. Busy spot for breakfast and can become crowded during the lunch hour.

Spouse n I went for breakfast today. Was n the place for about 40 minutes, place crowded, 8 SAPD officer's n the place also. Finished up go to my truck n my tailgate has been stolen!! Bad neighborhood, so won't return. :(

We went on a Sunday morning for breakfast and it was very busy but the staff was nice and tried to get our group of 6 seated soon as they could. Service was great, the food was good but I think a bit overpriced for the quality.

Small restaurant serving locals in downtown San Antonio. Fare is mostly traditional Mexican, with Tex-Mex variety and small offering of American. The service is excellent and the food is very good. At first site, it looks like a local dive with dirty windows and simple tables and chairs. But, once inside, the servers are right on the spot and the food is very good. I stopped for breakfast on my way to jury duty the morning and I'm still full.

We frequent this place because it's near work and for the authentic food and really good service. Their lunch specials are really good and priced well for a "lunch special". Don't show up looking for a fancy restaurant in the snooty part of SA...but you can expect a clean, well-run and friendly place to fill up on comida Mexicana authentica!

Great place to gather with family or friends. Service is great. Our waitresses Marie Anna and Maria are consistently great at their job. I'd recommend it for business lunches too

I recently had to find a new breakfast taco restaurant, because mine was getting too dirty, sloppy and the quality of food had gone downhill. A friend of mine suggested we try Tommy's. When we pulled up, I began thinking twice about going in. The building looks old and run down, but the parking lot was full so I figured it couldn't be that bad. What a surprise! The inside of this restaurant is clean, bright and full of life. The waitresses are really friendly, and I felt completely welcome. This is a local spot, but I'm sure anyone could walk in and receive the same high quality service. We had breakfast tacos. My first one was bacon, egg and cheese and the second one was chorizo, egg and potato. I'll start by saying that our food came out within about 3 minutes of ordering, even though the place was crowded. It was piping hot and the servings were huge. The flour tortillas are homemade and delicious, the chorizo was cooked perfectly and the potatoes had just enough crunch to them. The green sauce they have on the table was amazing, just the right amount of spice. I'm sure they also have red sauce, and milder ones available... but I was completely content with the green. (For non locals, sauce is the Spanish word for salsa.. nom nom). Give Tommy's a try! It's my new favorite place. Prices, quality, food and service can't be beat.

I've never had a bad meal at Tommy's. The wait staff is friendly and quick to your needs. The patrons represent a wonderful cross section of San Antonio culture with respect to others and smiles of plenty. There are plenty of food items to choose. You won't go wrong eating at Tommy's!

Hand made corn and flour tortillas win me over every time. Great tacos, Barbacoa, and Lengua with plenty of onion, cilantro and meat. The also have some local softdrink called "Big Red". I wish that they had beer.

Best Mexican restaurant hands down!! Rice is always a problem for me here EVERYTHING is delicious..Please open one in Corpus Christi I guarantee u will shut every one down..

I have been eating at Tommy's for 30 years and Tommy's is consistently great Tex-Mex. Their tortillas are made fresh all day. Breakfast is served all day. All of their tacos are great; my favorite is the bacon, egg and potato taco and barbacoa taco. If you are new to Tommy's you have to try the barbacoa taco with Big Red; Tommy's is famous for that. Their enchiladas are great to. Also, their oatmeal is served up homestyle; just like mom's. The servers are great, very efficient, very friendly and courteous. Tommy's has been around for decades, and the owner Ori is great, you can find her there often. They have locations at 8823 Wurzbach Rd, 78240 (210) 558-9777; 6702 San Pedro, 78216 (210) 822-6702. If you live in or if you are visiting San Antonio, give Tommy's a try, you will love it, and Tommy's will be at the top of your list.

We are NEVER DISAPPOINTED!!!! This is a San Antonio favorite of my family. Situated in a south side neighborhood- you will get some real San Antonio culture. Frequented by policemen, professionals and families, this place is always consistently good. They have hot homemade flour and corn tortillas- try BOTH! The pork chop taco and chorizo and eggs are my favorites! Everything on the menu is DELISH! And, finally the staff is always friendly and welcoming.!
Just Great Local Food
I walked in and it was full of people with great food at their tables. I looked around and some of the Soups caught my eye and my nose! I ended up ordering the most amazing Fideo I have ever had. If you want true local cuisine than this is a great spot!
