I first visited Toranj back in May, and it’s my to go spot when ever I’m missing some fire food! Every bite is tasteful and well prepared. I have tried almost the entire menu and not one single item has disappointed me! Yet, my favorite is Juicy Chicken, I usually add a single skewer of beed koobideh and I have plenty of food left for dinner. Inside of the restaurant is very pretty, very clean and neat. The staff are nice too. I highly recommend this pace.

Great food and service. The juicy chicken kabab is beyond comparison. This is the best chicken I have ever had. We ordered a second helping to share among the table. Rice, as expected, was excellent. Be sure to consider both versions of their yogurt dip. Bread was also excellent.

My husband and I were staying in Westwood for a UCLA medical trip. It goes without saying that we were not in town for romantic dinners, however, finding this gem within walking distrance from our hotel was a God-send! We had seen it the night before and looked over the menu after already dining at another restaurant. I knew from the menu and ambviance that i wanted to come back before we left town. They had peaceful, welcoming decor and the back wall was filled with wine bottles to compliment the delicious cuisine. Our server ended up being the co`owner with her brother. With their Persian background, the siblings wanted to create an authentic eatery that showcased the amazing variety of flavors, but also the cultural aspects of family dining. As a retired Spanish teacher familiar with the concept of 'sobremesa' which literally means 'over the table' I was so excited to hear this! Although the place is nicer than I would expect to bring our kids when they were small, the owner reassured me that families are more than welcome. The food and atmosphere encourage you to linger over the meal and engage in conversation with the ones you love over beautiful tasting food and perhaps a nice glass of wine. Don't miss this one!

I went with my ten other friends five of eleven food we order was bad to salty or not testy or on cooked and for high price you can find same food in a lot restaurant in la with much better price and much better test I do not recommend this restaurant and definitely we are not coming back

Great lunch special items, ask for servers recommendations. I got salmon lunch which came with fava bean and dill rice and a small salad Perfect portion, very good food, amazing staff, you can definitely taste the quality if the ingredients

What is the significance of being North of Wilshire? Theoretically, all the good (and known) Persian restaurants are South of Wilshire, on Westwood Blvd. After Panini Grill left Westwood, this spot was taken by Grilliant, which I also liked, although it was not even close to Toranj. Toranj is thriving to become a high quality provider of Persian food and the first signs are promising. After my blunder with Grilliant, I am cautious a bit, because I cannot predict Toranj's staying power. Also, I am not Iranian, so I cannot judge the authenticity of the dishes. However, I go there every week and see more and larger Iranian groups and families, so it must be authentic (:-) On my part, I simply like it. Pita is always fresh and hot, the chicken shish kabab is my favorite and the Albaloo Polo (Cherry rice,) which can come with it is also excellent. We also got an incredible eggplant appetizer. I almost forgot, definitely order hot tea; it is not made with your run-off-the-mill teabag and comes adorned with a small flower. What about the finishing touch? I never order baklava in Greek restaurants because it is usually too sweet for me but the waitress convinced me to try and boy, was she right. Their baklava is excellent, fresh, warm, and certainly not the usual soggy and overly sweet concoction. Soooo, if you are in Westwood, go and try Toranj; you will not regret it.

Yeah, the food is terrific, but the service, the smiles – this is my best post-pandemic dining experience – and we were just ordering takeout!

Very expensive and bad quality bad service as well, quality of food for what they charge is redeclus, food was served cold and late.

We’ve been to this restaurant multiple times over the past couple of years and it has yet to disappoint. Portions are very generous - almost too much so - as we keep forgetting when we find ourselves with boxes of leftovers. Every dish we’ve tried, and there have been many by now, has been consistently satisfying. Prices are more than reasonable and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing. Service is always good. It’s become a staple for any time I’m in the LA area and will continue to be one.

The foods, the service, and great atmosphere. I really enjoyed my food, and fair price for the foods. I highly recommend this place!!!

Totally delicious food, you must try this place. I don’t know how they prepared the eggplant entree but it was the best thing I have tasted in a long time.

We politely sat at our table, and watched the Farsi-speaking clientele around us receive seemingly good service and, oddly, larger portions (!) of their food. In fact, one of our appetizers never arrived. Lamb shank is delicious. Fessenjoon is overly sweet. Skip the feta, walnuts and herbs - one piece of flatbread and 2 tablespoons of feta do not justify the price. With so many other highly rated Persian restaurants in the area, I'd give this one a miss.

I don’t understand the other reviews! We love this place! It’s our favorite neighborhood restaurant. The juicy chicken is the best in town and the rice with cherries is delicious! My husband loves their lentil soup with chicken. Save room for elegant desserts or baklava!

Went for lunch. Amazing vegetarian meal and fantastic service. When the servers learned that we were visiting from Georgia, they asked if we had ever been to Rumi's Kitchen, the high-end very popular Persian restaurant in Atlanta. We had never been but had also heard lots of good things. Well, we went today and Toranj is better, in our opinion!

Some items were ok and some not. Kabab barg was ok but koubideh was too dry and over cooked. Rice was good but tahdig was too hard and like a rock. The fish was not as tasty as previous times.

Beautiful presentation on a well-lit space. Delicious and flavorful menu. Do not miss the fessenjoon; they make a vegetarian version that is extraordinary (and pairs well with rice and falafel). Small patio out front for those who prefer to eat outdoors (separated by a wall from the busy street). A short 2-minute walk from The Hammer.

First time eating at a Persian restaurant and I’m hooked. The food is so flavorful, the juicy chicken is for sure juicy, and the basmati rice is good. Great portions and always cooked hot for takeout. 10/10 will be back after Covid to enjoy the restaurant and patio

I enjoyed. Their signature juicy chicken was great with a very tasty rice. I also had bahar naranj sherbet for drink and it filled me with joy... the service was normal! Nothing special!

Every dish we ordered was excellent. Smokey eggplant appetizer was perfectly seasoned. Both the Juicy Chicken and Fensenjoon Stew were excellent. We had a small dog with us & were able to sit on patio. Friendly service.

Oh my god! The last time i had food with this quality was back in Iran! The juicy chicken, rice and shirazi salad is so so good! I had 5 days in LA and I went to Toranj 3 times! The fava bean and dill rice was really good too! Oh and ask for lunch special menu

The service and food are both excellent, especially the filet mignon. Prices are fairly high, but not unreasonable for the quality and portion size.
Disappointing experience all around - Food and service
We decided to dine at this Persian restaurant based on its almost 5 star ratings, but what an utter disappointment - from the moment we checked in for our reservation, the hostess was this miserable, rude lady who looked as though we have inconvenienced her by showing up to eat - no smile, no warm greeting what so ever. We proceeded to order our food, and our waiter also had a low social IQ as he would comment on any item we ordered with a sly comment. The food was below average at best. After the food was delivered, no one came to check to see if we needed anything else. Their tea was nice and they had garnished it with a rose and the lady who delivered it, would actually serve it with a smile. Will not be returning nor would recommend this restaurant. There are plenty of other Persian restaurants in LA who haven't forgotten the art of customer service and serve decent food.
