My server Onyx was absolutely amazing! Kind, knowledgeable, made excellent menu recommendations ! She made me feel right at home during my first trip to Atlanta! Thank you for the southern hospitality and the assistance with the menu! I appreciate your kindness and patience….and yes Absolutely delicious food.

My husband and I dined at Trade Root Restaurant & Lounge for Easter Brunch. It is located in The Whitley, a Luxury Collection Hotel, among the Marriott Bonvoy family of hotels. The Luxury Collection is a treasure (We have stayed at Las Alcobas in Mexico City and St. Anthony in San Antonio.)! The Brunch was in the ballroom with its gorgeous chandeliers and sconces. A marvelous pianist provided music. The staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. A large selection of varied and delicious food (The Prime Rib was REALLY Prime Rib, unlike some places, and the Pâté was among the best I have tasted.), beverages (The Peach Bellini was perfect.), and desserts. Of course, the Easter Bunny was there, and available for photos. Highly recommend Trade Root Restaurant & Lounge Brunch.

I have had dinner here twice but will not be coming back which is a shame because I am in town often.    The first time I had dinner, I was in a hurry and had the BLGT and some chips.    The portion size was filling but the sandwich was bland and the chips were greasy.   The next time I had dinner with my son.  We had the crab cakes for appetizers, he had the kids pasta, and I had the turkey burger.   The turkey burger was very spicy so you could not taste the burger itself.  On the menu, the burger was supposed to be nothing more than a burger, bacon, kale, and a shallot vinaigrette so I was not expecting anything overpowering.  The brownie he had for dessert was like a hockey puck so he did not eat most of it.  Our waitress did not come back to the table with our check so I had to get up from our table and ask the manager to get our check.  The manager told me our waitress had to serve a big table which is why she was so slow.  I do not think the service issue was really our waitresses fault but rather more on the restaurant itself.  That said, when your dinner tab for one adult and a children's meal (no alcohol) is nearly $90, you should not have to get up from the table and find your server.  The manager did not offer any apology.   I debated whether the food is average or poor but decided on poor because the crab cakes were just okay, the turkey burger was a fail, my son's pasta was just average, and most of the brownie was not edible. It's hard to mess up a brownie.

Food was interesting, prices a bit high (as you might expect from a hotel restaurant) but servers very friendly, especially Azeb! The fried green tomatoes appetizer was delicious, the hummus was made from boiled peanuts, a Georgia twist, but that appetizer was HUGE! Great desser5s and mains as well.

The restaurant within The Whitley, Trade Root, has reduced hours due to COVID, which we understand; however, I did not anticipate our flatbread being served in a pizza box at our table while we were dining in the restaurant. Since our room lacked the typical Nespresso machine my husband went downstairs to Trade Root to retrieve coffee where he encountered a lengthy line with one person serving patrons ($12.89 for 2 marginal cups of coffee). Sadly Marriott has allowed this entire property to drastically decline to a 2 or 3 star hotel instead of a 5 star, luxury hotel..

Breakfast was awesome...great omelette The service was perfect, fast and friendly. Olga, the hostess, was super friendly. Great drinks and service in the lounge too.

Awesome birthday dinner! The food was superb -- flavorful options for all palates! Attentive staff -- Shonta went above and beyond to ensure that everything was absolutely perfect. Her team accommodated our large family gracefully. Special thanks to Nekima, Arman, and Violina for making my birthday special and delivering first-class service. My family dines and travels frequently and this was a very memorable and pleasant experience. I highly recommend the beautiful charcuterie & cheese board.

Disappointed with the lack of response to my refund request for a tea reservation. On April 30th, I made a reservation for tea. However, shortly after making the reservation, I realized that the type of tea offered did not align with my preferences and dietary restrictions. As someone allergic to alcohol, I was unable to partake in the tea infused with alcohol that is being offered. My intention was to experience a traditional afternoon tea, which unfortunately is not being offered. In light of this, I promptly reached out to your team via email at traderootsocial@whitleyhotel.com and also sent a message through your Instagram page no more than 24 hours after booking requesting a refund due to the circumstances. Despite my efforts, I have not received any acknowledgment or response regarding my refund request. The reservation is thru eventbrite and there was no confirmation from the restaurant directly that was sent over. Communication and resolution regarding this matter is concerning. I kindly request that you look into this matter promptly and provide an update regarding the status of my refund request. I appreciate your attention to this issue and hope for a swift resolution.

The restaurant has amazing food, good ambiance and a great staff. Our meal started with the deviled eggs which had the right combination of egg and garnish, tasty. The short ribs melted in your mouth and the shrimp and grits had so much flavor. We skipped dessert because we were full from the appetizer and meal, but they have an array of assorted dessert options. We were very pleased with our visit. Highly recommended.

I want to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to Shonta Purnell Walker for ALWAYS taking such good care of me when I come to eat. The entire staff makes me feel like family!!!!! So thank you so much for the service, care, hugs and smiles!!!!!

Always exceptional, however, due to COVID-19 everything is restricted everywhere. I will continue to stay here, due to the professionalism, cleanliness, and most of all, the people. Chris (Behind the Bar) is and continues to be awesome and engaging.

Nice dinner menu includes salmon and a variety of hearty salads with or without protein. The service is excellent and the staff is very pleasant. Olga is outstanding!

We had a wonderful lunch here. Nelson was our server and he was very attentive. We each had a hamburger which was huge and delicious and came with french fries. The lunch menu does not offer a huge selection, but offers something for everyone. We will definitely eat here again.

About 20 of us stayed at the Whitley (2-3 days) for an event on Oct 25th and ate breakfast at the Root Sat-Mon! They also catered the event as the food was impeccable! We had the pleasure of meeting the Director of Outlet, Shonta Walker. She was extremely helpful, personable and professional. We had the same waitress Sun/Mon, Sai, and although it was very crowded she remembered our order from the previous day! Cudos to Ms. Walker and staff.

I decided to come here for lunch today after hearing a few good things about the food and staff in the restaurant. I was not disappointed with either! As soon as I sat down in the bar area I was greeted by my lovely server Charlyn. She was very courteous and friendly! I ordered the Brisket Burnt End Tacos and they where absolutely amazing! Kudos to the chef working during lunch hour on 5.13.22!! Soon after my meal came out, Shonta (Manager) came out to make sure everything was good and made sure I didn’t need anything more! She chatted with me for a moment and I just love her personality and attitude. She stood out to me as someone who really loves the work she does. The experience was great! The food and staff has solidified this as one of my new go to lunch spots!

We had dinner at the Trade Root during an overnight stay at the Whitley, because we didn't want to bother going out. I didn't have particularly high expectations, but our meals were delicious! Perfectly cooked high quality steak, nicely presented; excellent corn risotto side, great salad, good minnestrone soup. It was far better than the ambience, which was bordering on a hotel coffee shop vibe. Breakfast was also very good.

Mother's Day Brunch was amazing. Being greeted by Olga and talking about her family in Ukraine was so moving. Her heart is so sweet, what a great first impression. Shonta and her staff exceeded my sister and I expectations. Everything was presented with such perfection. It was beautiful. The band was perfect for the occasion and the FOOD was just delicious. We will make this a Mother's Day tradition!! Thank you Shonta and Staff , you guys really wowed us 🤩

Went for brunch with friends on a Saturday. Wonderful atmosphere, beautiful music, great food, exceptional service, excellent decor. Will definitely will be back.

I wanted to thank trade root again for the amazing staff and service ! Olga, Tsegaye, Yehuda, Minka and especially Shonta! Every time I am there they treat me like family and make me feel like I am home!! The food is incredible and it really is the way that they remember everything you like as well. I can't wait to visit again! Thank you again!!!!
