Great cozy spot in Center City

By Marilyn L |

We'd planned on a nearby restaurant for dinner but found there would be an hour's wait, so opted for Tria instead. We were all very glad we did! Delightful spot, great atmosphere for conversation, excellent food and service! We came close to dinner there again the following night it was so good!

Never disappoints!

By Mary Beth K |

My favorite time at Tria is around happy hour, but it's pretty much awesome all the time. Not for the budget-conscious (a glass of Malbec is $11), but the little plates are reasonable enough and the vibe is chill.

Best cheese and wine offerings USA has to offer

By MeHere752 |

Excellent cheese and wine offerings (and specialty beers if you like them too) This is the perfect place to stop and indulge 😜🍷

Great Tapis

By Harry F |

This was next to our hotel, The Alexandra, on 12th Street. We had had a good day of walking and having cheese steak for lunch at Pat's so dinner was not something we wanted a lot of. We stopped by at 6 PM on a Monday night. The place was busy, but not noisy. We were planning out next assault on the family tree the next day and were able to talk easily at the table, They had a couple specials for the night. They were offing a Chinon "Les Picasses" Olga Raffault 2002 red from Loire France. It was very good, My wife has the Syrah "Reverva" Vina Chocolan 2013 from Chile. It was on the regular menu but it was also very good. We decided to go with four different "snacks". I chose the Warm Poached Black Mission Figs with Gorgonzola and Prosciutto di Parma. My wife chose Brie de Nanhia which came with local honey. My cousin choose the Roasted Beets with Feta. Together we chose the Sliced Italian Meats served with Cornichons, picked onion mostrada and picked pepper oil. All four dishes were very good. With the wine and all it was about $60. So not that pricey. The service was excellent and the staff very good. I would recommend this place to anyone. The full meal dished also looked equally appetizing.

A Philadelphia classic

By elizabeth7887 |

This is a fantastic wine bar and restaurant, perfect at any time of day. Go for lunch for a delicious cheese board, innovative salad, and glass of wine. Meet friends here for drinks or happy hour. Take a break from shopping. Or check out their Sunday School, which includes specials. This location and the others in the city serve as a lovely location to catch up with friends or enjoy a date.

Food, service, ambiance: just poor all round.

By ZaidD_13 |

I wanted to like this place, I really did. When we first walked in we immediately liked the feel of it, the décor and the lighting. Staff were friendly too. But when we were seated, it started to go a bit downhill. It was loud, and there was a draft. I don't know where it came from: we were in the back of the restaurant, and the windows were closed. But there was a draft. The tables were small, which is probably to be expected. The food menu was a little lacking. In terms of entrees, you're looking at sandwiches, none of which were particularly appealing. I went with the Turkey, while my wife got a bean dip. The former was quite cold and flavorless, the latter came with bread that was way, way over-paprikaed (is that a word?). Neither of us finished our food. We did get a cheese, which was nice, but there wasn't enough bread to go with it. Service was consistently good, so credit where it's due. But I was just really disappointed. Sorry guys!

Great for a glass of wine or beer and cheese!

By davidiap |

Excellent beer expertly poured by the waitress (despite her almost dropping it), great cheese sampler, and yummy turkey bacon and prosciutto fig paninis split, relaxing with nice music going on. Cozy atmosphere, outstanding service, great place!

Great for wine and cheese!

By Emily K |

Great little place to meet up with friends to have some wine and a cheese board. We ordered the fromagger with the cherry compote and the ricotta with pistachios and lavender honey both were very good. A must try is the truffle egg with Fontina OMG it was amazing. Only thing I wished they had was soup or something hot to eat since it was cold outside but all in all great place!

Fun Place to Celebrate

Stopped in for a celebratory drink and snacks yesterday after a film screening at my daughter's university. The restaurant, staff, snacks and drinks were all excellent. Very enjoyable experience.

Wonderful for wine, cheese and beer

By FelicitySpike |

A branch of this comfortable, charming restaurant was across from our hotel on 12th and Spruce, the Alexander Inn. My husband and I visited twice during our stay for happy hour. The wine was wonderful, the cheese delicious, and the service exceptional.

Tria es tre bien!!!

By allenr589 |

If you don’t like sharing, Tria is not your place. Not that they don’t have individual type of entrees. I just love the variety of the tapas style approach. five dishes among two people was perfect. Add to it an excellent wine list with many options by the glass and you have the perfect setting. I can’t comment on the interior as we dined outside. There are not good outside dining options in all of downtown Philly. Small uneven, sidewalks, cramped space, traffic, rude pedestrians all do diminish the experience. Put that aside and you will not be disappointed. The fennel almonds are addictive and you can’t eat just one. That’s the same problem with the potato chips!!! Indulge in the variety of bruschetta. We had the broccoli rabe and the ricotta. The roasted beets were a nice touch to the entire meal. We never even made it to dessert!!!! Definitely worth returning too. And with winter setting in, a chance to take in the interior décor. Service was perfect.

Great lunch

By Donna F |

This is a great spot for lunch for business. The pistachio ricotta bruschetta with lavendar honey is excellent. The truffled mushroom spinach sandwich is delicious and savory as well. I also found the proscuitto fig panini a delightful combination. The restaurant also good for a drink before dinner or right after work.

Relaxed Smartness

By Fabrizio S |

The selection of food and wine is great in this place even for an Italian. Of course some Italian quality products are featured on the menu, but the wines at the glass were a real discovery even for an addicte wine taster, both on the American side and on the European one. Well done.

Tasty Tapas in Philadelphia

By PA. |

My wife and I traveled to Philadelphia this weekend for the Flower Show at FDR Park. Quite enjoyable. For dinner this evening (Saturday, 6/18/22) we decided we were in the mood for tapas, and eventually settled on Tria Café for our destination. Tria has two locations. One at 1137 Spruce Street, and the other (Tria Cafe Rittenhouse) on the corner at 123 South 18th Street. We headed to the latter. Arrived a bit early for our 7:30 PM reservation, but our table was ready. We sat by the front window overlooking South 18th Street, a great spot for people watching. (There's also seating outside along the street.) Service was friendly and efficient, starting with our water request (plain or sparkling). Having received that, we placed our drink orders: My wife tried the Boylan ginger ale (tasty) and I opted for the Abernet Franc "Hurluberlu," Saint-Nicolas de Bourgueil, Sebastian Davide, 2021, from the Loire Valley of France. I'm by no means a wine connoiseur, and couldn't distinguish among the supposedly "exuberant" flavors of cherry, raspberry, and cranberry. Nonetheless, the wine was fine, and went well with my dinner choice. For the main course, my wife chose the Koch’s Smoked Turkey Sandwich with Cabot Cheddar, North Country Bacon, Tomato, Arugula and Truffle-Herb Aioli ($16). A full meal in itself (my wife took half home with her). I selected the Roasted Duck Salad with Spinach, Strawberries, Pistachios, Grana Padano and Citrus-Mint Vinaigrette ($16). Very enjoyable with an excellent variety of textures and flavors; all working well together. I highly recommend it. We had originally intended to try the flourless chocolate torte with honey mascarpone and strawberries ($8) for dessert. But our main courses proved to be more than sufficient. For what's it's worth, another diner seated nearby ordered it, and it looked delicious. Maybe next time we'll start our meal by ordering dessert first. Thank you for a very enjoyable evening! Definitely a 5 of 5 on all counts. - Tim

Nice wine bar

By Grnwayrob |

This is a wine bar that offers very tasty appetizer portion food. They also have salads, including a great smoked duck breast salad over spinach that was really delicious! Nice selection of wine by the glass. Craft beers too. Good, friendly service and very fair prices.

Tasty but crowded

By Ria411 |

great food and wine selections at this restaurant. It's pretty cramped and make sure you have a reservation.

Knowledgable in wines and cheeses

By Foley475 |

Such a nice place to get together with friends for a nice glass of wine with a nicely paired cheese to compliment the wines! Look forward to returning! Very welcoming atmosphere!

Are you kidding?

By SuperAtomic |

Maybe I am just too old for this place. If you like dimly lit dining, loud music and tiny portions -this is the place for you! We had trouble reading the menu and hearing each other. Bruschetta was 2 tiny-about 6"x 1" pieces of good bread with greens on it . I had trouble finding anything on the menu that appealed to me. To be fair, the women in our party liked it better than the men but I think they were trying to make the best of the situation. I think this place is very impressed with itself. The over priced food took awhile. They has a ton of people working there but most were just looking and standing away while the 2 Latinos slaved away in the open kitchen. The bread was great- they must buy it else ware. I don't care if everybody gives it 5 stars- way way better places to go!!!!!

Great beer and wine selection

By Ramarama33 |

I go here for beer and wine, they pretty much wrote the book on the beer and wine scene in philly although there are some better places now than when Tria came on the scene. The food is simple but good. Menu does not change often. The 18th at has a younger scene, good supply of krumpet on a party night. 12 street less crowded and less popular. If you want a good craft beer or fine wine stop in, staff are well trained and helpful.

Good wine... bring your earmuffs

By Ewa R |

The wine, beer, food, and service were all good. But... this is a wine bar. Why is the background music a bunch of ear-splitting banshees? There's no way to savor and enjoy the wine (forget about the company) because you can't hold your glass and protect your ears at the same time. There's got to be a better selection of music and I hope the staff will find the volume dial (which has apparently fallen off and been kicked into an obscure corner). Unless it's a way to keep customers moving....

Eclectic menu with healthy choices

By FabrizioTraveling |

Positives: 1) food quality and healthy choices 2) price for quality 3) atmosphere 4) location: just off Ritten house square To be mildly improved: 1) quality of service. Very interesting menu both on food and wine. On the latter very good selection and ok prices. On food very interesting salads and a cheese menus I’ve never seen before in the US. Atmosphere is really good: when you pass the entrance door it is a surprising place. Service good but not great.

Ambiance and flavors on point!

By Katherine E |

Whomever runs this kitchen is a master when it comes to flavor. We had savory light fare salads for dinner, followed by a variety of palette pleasing cheese for dessert. #onpoint #delicious #masterchef #moreplease

Excellent experience

By Food_Snob_PA |

Walked in on a blustery night and found Tria to be warm and welcoming. How pleasant it is to be greeted by someone that instantly demonstrates a caring attitude. It wasn't just this first impression that told us Tria has excellent staff, our waiters literally meant it when they said, "I will be taking care of you tonight.". Thorough explanations and recommendations for our cheese selections followed by wine pairings were honest and experienced. Later with our food and a different waitress, the same caring, thoughtfulness and even pride was demonstrated. (I'm gushing, aren't I?). Takeaway: amazing service. Tria is small, no doubt. A typical Philly slice of a building. Muted lighting with seating stretching from front to back. Definite cozy feeling in a positive sense. The cheese menu is extensive and creatively described. As mentioned, we took recommendations from our waiter and enjoyed a selection of three cheeses each accompanied with a spread to compliment. The sweet cherries paired the blue were amazing but our favorite was the slightly aged goat's milk - like a two for one. Amazing. The red wine recommendation, Lacrima Dimorro D'alba, was perfect and something we will hunt for later. The more substantial food for us included rosemary potato chips served along with herbed aioli - very good. We also enjoyed the Truffled Egg toast (and broke the yolk before taking a picture). We also devoured the tuna sandwich. A little more wine and we were on our way, back out into the cold evening though feeling much warmer and satisfied. More than satisfied. My one knock is that something a little more substantial on the menu would have been helpful. Overall, we were super pleased and I've awarded Tria a rare five stars. A gem.

Just what we were looking for!

By Bmorrish |

Three teachers in Philly for an International Educational travel conference, looking for something international. Great food, wonderful charcuterie, cheese and wine selections.

Trendy and Nice Environment

By Rudy B |

Excellent presentation of the cheese platter and the taste was just delicious. The staff was very knowledgeable and made a good recommendation on the cheese plate to get. We also had the Lake House Board and the combination along with the cheese board was perfect for sharing. Overall, I thought the prices, food quality, and service were excellent and we would definitely visit here when we're back int he area. Highly recommend.

Wine and drinks

By daler80 |

Nice place to have happy hour . Upscale and great selections of wine and beer. Food I tried: ahi tuna sandwich was little more than canned tuna on toast. The place was packed so maybe I caught the kitchen on an off day.

AMAZING!

By Giacomo C |

we were taking a walk and we saw this bar with a nice terrace so we decided to stop for a drink. Unfortunately the terrace was full but we decided to sit inside anyway because it looked really nice...so we first had just a glass of wine with the idea of going somewhere else for dinner, but we ended up staying for dinner as well!! The atmosphere was so nice and relaxed that we felt really happy!! The service is really good and all the people that work here are really friendly and welcoming...the wine list is really good and you have many good options to choose from. The food is also very good, small portions of different kinds of food, very well presented and very fresh...everything was delicious and we really had a very nice evening!!

Wonderful Find!

By Stephanie B |

Mu daughter and I were off to The Nutcracker and were looking for a place to have lunch beforehand. We discovered Tria online(within walking distance to the Academy of Music) and thought we'd try it out. It was wonderful! We both had delicious salads and soup to start. My soup: lamb fennel sausage with white beans. Soooooo rich, creamy and flavorful-I wanted another helping! My daughter, with a gluten allergy, was able to get a sandwich she wanted turned into a salad. The waitstaff was very accommodating and pleasant. Can't wait to go back and try some other items on the menu!

Great Wine Selection

By Frank C |

Tria has one of the best wine selections in the city and some great bites at the bar. Try the sandwiches.

The beer was excellent!

By Jason A |

Tria was a fantastic find. It was recommended by a friend and was excellent. Our server Belen was incredibly knowledgeable about the entire menu, especially the beer. She was spot on in her selections, and that is saying a lot, as I’m a self proclaimed beer snob.😂. The food was excellent as well! I highly recommend Tria!

Nice little cafe!

By Maryam S |

I liked the tuna sandwich I ordered a lot. My friends tried the salads and liked it. Everyone was really friendly. It is small and cozy, not expensive not that cheap but the food is good.

Late drinks and dessert

By ACat2014 |

Great place for drinks and dessert. Beautiful cheese plates, wine menu, desserts. Delicious and great atmosphere.

Great!

I had a roasted eggplant sandwich, my fiance had a turkey "club". Both were delicious. Service was excellent as well.

Caught up with friends while enjoying tasty lunch items......

By Ginny N M |

While traveling with college friends we went here after lunch rush time and enjoyed the atmosphere and the delicious salads. Actually found it based on a suggestion from a different restaurant that could not accommodate us!

Sunday Treat

By Mike K |

We had heard about this place as we stay at the Sofitel frequently in Rittenhouse and it is literally around the corner. Smallish bar and seating area so be prepared to come at opening or possibly wait but it is worth the wait. Sunday's are special half off on certain cheeses, wines, and beers. We had the cheese and wine special and two very lovely bruschetta with pumpkin soup. Terrific. Staff was great. Place was vibrant, food was excellent and unique flavors and the prices reasonable. In the area I would recommend it. Very good!

Wine and great tapas

By Jean T |

Charming place to stop for interesting wine and great tapas. Outside seating available, nice staff and fair prices

A true gem

By Joanne R |

We stayed at the Alexander Inn across the street and were looking for someplace to get a quick bite before heading to the train station for our return trip. The Tria Cafe was perfect. Two of us shared the Figs with Gorgonzola and Prosciutto (snack) the Pistachio Herbed Ricotta with Lavender Honey Bruschetta and the Prosciutto Cotto Sandwich. Delicious! We were there at happy hour so got a deal on the glasses of wine. I wish we were staying in Philadelphia longer, we would have returned again. Maybe next visit.

Amazing little cafe

By llabrune13 |

While wandering through the streets we were looking for a place to grab a bite with my wife. Lured towards this cafe by the laughters and soft music we decided to give it a shot and oh my ... it was a an incredible surprise. The wine was divine but the food is the real surprise with great fresh products, a pesto nearly as good as the one from my stepmom from Italy and a duck salad seasoned to perfection. All this accompanied with an impeccable staff. Thanks you so much for the lovely time :)

Authentic Italian food

By David K |

Great little Italian restaurant in the Rittenhouse area of Philadelphia. Very authentic and classic. Small eating space but large bar and many people of Italian heritage eating here. Reasonably priced but not low end and great selection of wines. Excellent small plate selections so great for happy hour, dinner or late night. 13 minute walk from City Hall.

Nice center city light meal

By ljsamson |

My friend and I wanted a quick, but nice meal and we went to Tria, without reservations about 6 pm on a Thursday. It's just north of Rittenhouse Square. We were seated no problem at a window table. Small, but good wine list and excellent choices of small plates which we shared. With the small plates, you can have as much or little as you want. Reasonable prices Dishes were excellent - figs and prosciutto, white bean spread and duck/spinach salad.

Nice atmosphere good food!

By linda l |

Enjoyed the atmosphere. Good beer and cider selection. Good service and food. Fair pricing, friendly staff.

Perfect wine bar that I wish was more available everywhere!

By SBH62 |

Great spot, excellent wine selection. You can choose your cheeses from around the world, each that comes with a side like fig, chopped mushroom & garlic, or muddled strawberries & champagne. The staff were great and helped us choose perfectly paired wines to enjoy with our cheeses.

Great Tap Room

By Doc_Riyadh_SA |

Always unique beers on tap along with just plain fine craft beers. Service is excellent and happy hour "snacks" are reasonable and tasty. Quite attractive and a young professional's haven. Though only young in spirit, we drop in often to tap into new tastes and not otherwise available fine lagers and specials. Tria has four locations, each offering a slightly different range of food, wine and wonderful beers. These are all first class and very attractive. Try happy hour first and I am sure Tria will become frequented by you with regularity. Prost! Multi bene!

Superb wine selection by the glass

By Anson3000 |

The best written informative wine menu! Excellent service. Good outdoor tables. Nice complementary food selections but the wine and beer are the highlights. Highly recommended.

My favorite wine bar.

By Nanums |

Lots of outside seating and a great wine menu very reasonably priced. Sundays offer their "Sunday School"...special discounted wine, beer and cheese of the day. Two people can get out for $20 on Sunday with 2 glasses and a cheese. Fun appetizers. Staff goes to school weekly to taste...they know their stuff. Enjoy this one in the late afternoon before a nap and dinner!

Get the Rose from New Mexico!

Yummy in my tummy! Light snacks. Great beer and wine. Cheers to the people watching. Take an hour enjoy your cheese and wine. Great friendly service. Philly is a wonderful town.

Beyond Disappointed!!!!!!

By clothesminded12 |

Having lived in Philly many years ago, I was quite familiar with this quaint little corner gem. Key word...MANY years ago when this restaurant had substance and served real food on real plates. It was a complete disaster and embarassment bringing my fiance here after the Phillies game; mind you he is a yacht private chef in Spain so I assumed this would be an impressive little date night spot. I spoke in high regard to him as I was excited to take him to one of my favorite past time bars. What a joke this place has become. The supposed truffle aioli served with the chips has absolutely no taste of truffle whatsoever. It was merely Helmanns mayonnaise with some herbs and god knows what to make it light green in color. The burrata bruschetta was the next dish that came as I hoped this would be better, only to have 2 mediocre cold pieces of bread with cold cheese literally slapped on it, garnished with halved ...not even sliced or diced tomatoes on top (the cherry tomatoes were supposed to be pickled).....garnished with minimal basil. At least add some pesto (homemade). A five year old could do a better job with not only plating, but with presentation as well. Finally came the hickory smoked salmon salad.....This is where we gave up on hope that it could not get any worse. Spinach just thrown in the plate, some sort of pastina, which was not mentioned on the menu description and canned salmon literally slopped on top, no dressing. I took one bite and we both gave up. I have never in my life sent back a dish because of how awful it was until this. My fiance called over Tim I believe his name was who explained that it was not canned salmon, but Atlantic ocean salmon from the Colorado region...Last time I checked, Colorado is no where close to the Atlantic ocean. Regardless, he handled it well and we sent the dish back. I am truly disappointed that there was no love nor passion on any of the plates we ordered. Tim was very kind as the other waitress just decided to ignore us the rest of our time waisted there. We were not charged for the dish, however, you could have at least given us a free drink. The drinks were honestly the only good thing out of this whole experience. I was embarassed and disappointed to have even brought my fiance here. Waste of money and time. Please consider this review as honest criticism and change your lackluster attitude on how you present food to your clients. I will not be back, and I hope you get your act together or you will lose customers. Absolute culinary joke!

Very good, busy but good service

By Linda L |

Great selection of small plates, cheeses and nice wine list. Great service even though place was very crowded. A bit noisy.

Great food and wine list

By Nicole B |

We accidentally stumbled across Tria whilst walking back to our hotel, and what a find!! The staff were attentive, fun and knowledgeable about both the menu and the drink list. The food was fabulous and the wine list extensive. We had a selection of plates and shared them (the warm figs are a must, along with a the bruschettas!) at very reasonable prices. Will definitely be back again if I'm in Philly again.

A great place for a happy hour and a late drink

By ANNAISA B |

Tria was a great finding. The menu, specially the cheese section, is great at a fair price. Also has a variety of wines, beers and other drinks. And at Sundays they offer a special combination of wine and cheese that is an excellent opportunity to try new wines and cheeses for a great deal, sometimes at half of the price.

Popular place

By K D H |

Make reservations! We had a 25 min wait on a Sunday afternoon, so we just went to the park (Rittenhouse) and went back. We intended a quick glass of wine, then we added almonds, soon we were eating salads. A very pleasant early summertime evening , with outdoor seating. Everything was just about perfect. The servers were very friendly and patient with our changes, and the bartender was generous with sample tastings. We all preferred the Albertino (?) white, but the choices were almost overwhelming. Very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.

Perfect Summer Lunch

By NEhiker64 |

Delicious lunch in a cozy setting with excellent service made this a true standout. The staff was friendly, professional and helpful. We started with the local cheese board. All of the cheeses and accompaniments were flavorful. Two of us had the salad with artichokes and one had the salad with figs and prosciutto. Each salad was a well matched dish of flavors and textures. The wine list provided us with detailed descriptions, allowing us to each choose a perfect match for our foods and personal tastes. Highly recommend a visit to Tria!

Love, love love! Amazing wine list, delicious food

By summerjMA |

This is such a fun establishment. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful with picking out wines you would like. They have an extensive wine list, lots of delicious cheeses, and great other dishes. You can go there for happy hour snacks or a full meal and you won't be disappointed.

Excellent wings and flatbreads

By Nancy G |

We came here for a mid-day snack and shared mushroom flatbread and wings with a green sauce. Both were extraordinary. The flatbread had squash thinly sliced with the most delicious cheese and wild mushrooms. I was afraid the wings were going to be too spicy, but they were wonderful and the depth of flavor was great. The attention to detail really stands out here. The only negative was the price of the wine on tap. $9.50 for a so-so pour is too much. Service by Jenna was terrific. We will be back.

Great selections

By kkouklis |

Great selections of wine... Very friendly staff. Good food. Great place to hang out with friends to just sip wine and enjoy...

Always enjoyable

By emelliott3 |

Whether you come for drinks, apps, or dinner, you will never be disappointed! The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! I know that I will always have a good time with wine and cheese but stay for dinner too!

Great Cafe

By Esti32 |

Great place to stop in for a Beer or a glass of wine. The salads are great...food is always fresh & tasty.

Cozy place , good lunch. Excellent cappuccino.

By Reena S |

This is a nice place for lunch. If it had been a bit later, I would have had wine and shared a bunch of appetizers which looked really interesting and tasty. Most would be good for a vegan. The sandwiches and salads that were vegetarian mostly had cheese, but they would probably modify for you. Servers were very friendly and accommodating .

Cozy wine bar in Rittenhouse

By CWDC |

Great casual wine bar in Rittenhouse area with friendly service, ambience and good wine. Highly recommend a visit.

A favorite lunch spot

By stephses |

Tria cafe on 18th St. has fantastic small plates and salads so it's a perfect spot for lunch with friends. I've tried all the small plates but would find it impossible to choose a favorite; they're all delicious. The beet salad and the duck are also personal favorites but I've never heard anyone say a negative word about any of the food. The atmosphere is pleasant although it can be a bit loud. The staff is pleasant and knowledgeable and the wine selection is ample. It's especially nice to go after the main lunch crowd if that works into your schedule. I highly recommend this particular Tria. The one on Fitler Square has a similar menu and what should be a lovely ambience but the noise is overwhelming so the five stars are for the cafe on 18th only.

Nice atmosphere and great food

By hydroxybear |

Went to this place on the recommendation of a friend and it was a great call. It was very busy on a rainy Saturday evening. We opted to start off at the bar and the seats opened up right by the window. Ordered a bottle of champagne which was pretty pricey at $78 but the only downside to the meal (note the champagne was excellent, so tough to complain about the price!). Rosemary chips were fantastic and we went with 3 cheese. They were served with a crusty bread and each cheese was paired with a spread the enhanced it. The sharp goat cheese was our favorite (2nd from the top of the cheese menu). They even brought us out a complimentary dessert of bread pudding with toasted pumpkin seeds. It was outrageously good. What a meal. Will return in the future. The staff here were all very attentive and ensuring that everyone was enjoying their time. Well done!

Just ok

By L0ve2travel0ften |

Lunch at Tria was good, but certainly not great. The salmon spinach salad was not impressive and neither was the dressing. Service was ok, nothing special as was the atmosphere. Not in any hurry to return given the vast amount of great restaurants in the area.

Excelent!

By beatriztravaini t |

Great atmosphere, great beer and wine list. Appetizers, cheese, salad and sandwiches were very tasty!! Highly recommended!

Yummy lunch.

By Jennifer H |

Nice, cozy cafe in the heart of Rittenhouse Square. Service was attentive. Food is very good, just stopped by for lunch. Had a delicious salad and crab cake. Nice rose wine. Wine, beer, cocktails all on draft.

Sunday school at Tria

By Johanna A |

During our visit to Philly we tried Tria based on a friend's recommendation. We were not disdapinted, we arrived on a Sunday afternoon during Tria ' Sunday special called Sunday school where they offer 1 interesting wime, 1 cheese and 1 kind of beer at discounted prices with stories behind each item. We ordered the white burgundy wine for $4 and the selected sheep's milk cheese for $4 along with an additional cheese and rosemary potato chips. The cheeses came with sliced french bread and local honey and champagne strawberries. We enjoyed pairing the cheeses with the condiments supplied. We also ordered a chardonnay and a rose and liked both. The service was good and the venue was very cute and had a good atmosphere, we would definitely come back next time we are in town.

Wonderful evening at Tria Cafe

By Julie U |

If we lived in Philadelphia we would be regulars at Tria. We sat at a high top table and enjoyed the most delicious cheese and wine. The servers were casual, professional, and shared details about each course. It was a wonderful experience.

Great wine bar with tasty light plates, welcoming staff

By Richelieu-Drouot |

Very friendly and welcoming DEI vibe, superior food (duck breast salad!) and knowledgeable bartender whose wine recommendations hit it out of the park. Ideal for light dinner or drinks / snacks. Tasteful decor!

Very nice

Our intentions was to try the wine but we got so caught up we did not (extreme sad face) but from the face of the other guest it was pretty good. I had the duck an strawberry salad and it was very good the bartender who served us was very helpful suggesting a dish for me will return i saw 5 things pass me that i wish i could have put my fork in

Loved it

By Georgia M |

Loved the salad of Smoked Duck and Spinach with Allagash Cherries, Pistachios, Grana Padano and Citrus-Mint Vinaigrette - particularly the cherries; went back the next day and had Salad of Grilled Asparagus, Artichoke, White Beans, Tomato-Onion Relish and Pine Nuts which wasn't so special but service/atmosphere both great for lunch

Highly recommended!

By EllenS |

We ate at 2 of the 4 Tria restaurants and enjoyed both. The small plates are superb! The prices are very reasonable and the menu is unique. Great way to have a light dinner.

Trendy Tria

No wonder Tria is always packed: The provocative menu of unusual appetizers, sandwiches & salads & trendy brews is appealing & prices sensible. Although it was difficult to choose among figs w/ gorgonzola & prosciutto, ricotta w/ lavender honey, etc., our lunch of warm white bean spread on paprika toast & artisan cheese w/ quince jam on fresh crunchy bread, accompanied by a flute of cold sparking cava & a local brew (brews rated from "stinky" to "racy"/wines "zippy" to "funky"), was perfect.

Awesome cheese!

By tennrose |

I've never been to a wine and cheese bar before. There were so many cheeses to choose from, so my friend and I picked two to share. They served the cheese with honey and marmalade and crispy bread. So good! Then I had a mozzarella sandwich with crispy prosciutto, also very good. It was a casual atmosphere and a great dining experience.

Great Wine Bar

By GregFurer |

This is great little spot for light food and wine. The atmosphere is good and the service is excellent. Limited selection at the bar. Its just several beers and wine.

Thrilled with Tria

By bean_cheile |

Recently spent a lovely evening at Tria! Pleasant service with helpful recommendations regarding wine and cheese selections. We ordered several small plates to share and all were well prepared and delicious. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is lively. A nice spot to linger over a glass, or two, of wine.

Friendly wine bar with small eats

By THOMAS B |

Large selection of international wines by the glass. Charcuterie meat plate and imported cheeses pair well with their hearty red wines. Friendly vibe for solo or couple visits.

Scrumptious

By JanMeyers |

Absolutely delicious and great service. Just happened upon this cafe. Had the smoked duck salad and it was totally excellent! As were my friends chicken and beet salads. Fresh food decent portions. Along with a shared liter of Pellegrino total charge with tax= $44.

Would return again

By Brian |

Made an 8 PM reservation on a Thursday, restaurant was super busy, had to wait another 10 min for our table. Wine and food selection was awesome. Everything was really good. Would recommend the duck salad. Server was very attentive. We liked the fact that the servers were paid a decent wage and the tip was included in the meal price. Would go back again.

Brief Stop

By Whitney J |

After leaving dinner I stopped by Tria. My girlfriend and I were waiting for someone to meet us so we could go out. A server stopped by and asked us if we wanted anything to drink, I figured why not. Asked her for a glass of wine, comparable to Moscato. She was very knowledgeable about their selection. She made a suggestion, which I took. Wine was awful. I tried to find the name of it on the menu but they don't have it. I left her a nice tip and went back to my hotel. Service was great, my tastebuds just didn't agree with the wine

Excellent for a light meal and glass of wine

By DCPhotog21 |

Tria is a gem. Very good selection of wine by the glass, and a menu of small plates that, at least so far, has never disappointed. Each dish is well thought through and the execution is flawless.

Re: Snack and wine

By Henning S |

Great place with good and prompt service. Attentive waiter. Had a few red wines which were great. Potato chips with aioli and turkey sandwich to eat. Can recommend it for a good wine experience and evening snack.

Great wine and food

By CatherineH44 |

Food was interesting and wine and beer choices were great. Friendly, attentive staff, great experience

Great sandwiches

By hbn1975 |

We had some nice sandwiches and the service was really friendly and attentive. Simple but nice interior with outdoor seating in the summer.

Terrific selection of wines to sip!

By ChefB-CWP |

Tria Cafe offers an interesting wine-by-the-glass selection and limited production beers & ciders, with a nicely curated menu of cheese & nibbles. Their 'Sunday School' promotion offers half priced wine, cheese and beer or cider on Sunday, with a chance to chat with featured producers. Service is friendly, with limited outdoor seating. If you find a wine you love, Tria gives you a chance to buy a bottle, or two to take home!

reasonable food - very noisy

By Judah S |

we met friends for dinner there and were looking forward to catching up after many years. unfortunately the noise level was so high that conversation was close to painful. the food on the other hand was nicely prepared.

Wine lovers, it's a paradise

By otavioclark |

If you like wine, beer and cheese, it's the paradise! Many different options, different kinds of wine. Their specialty is wine by the glass what offer the opportunity to try many different wines. We loved it and came back two times more!

Fitler Tria: great food if you can stand the noise

By stephses |

I made my fourth visit to the new Tria on Fitler Square on a recent Thursday evening. The first three times, we arrived early and sat outside. The food was excellent and the ambience was pleasant. Given these positive experiences, my husband and I took a friend from out of town for dinner around 6:30 pm. on a weekday. There were no tables outside so we were given a table inside near the bar. The food was still excellent, but the noise level made conversation almost impossible. We all gulped down our delicious food and took our headaches outside as quickly as we could. Needless to say, our guest was not impressed! He was especially confused as to why they were blaring music that no one was listening to through a multitude of speakers.

A great wine bar

By F&W Critic |

Quaint little wine bar. Service was attentive, music was at an appropriate level. No Tv's here to distract you which was a bonus. We had a wonderful dessert wine tasting. They had a nice cross section of offerings including a sautern, late tawny port, olorosso sherry, madiera and 10 yr old tawny. It was fabulous and what made it so enjoyable was the server paired our selections with 5 different cheeses. What a wonderful date night. We also had the fennel roasted almonds, the figs and proscutto, cheesecake and crab peppers and the chicken liver mousse. The only miss was the cheesecake. It tasted like it was a week old and from sysco. The only other thing I would suggest: if you're wanting to be a wine bar, add a few decorations to those bare walls. A few wine crates, some shelving above the lights showing off your selections, maybe some pictures of wine, wine regions or even maybe a few black and white Philly pictures. Other than that, what a great space. Would go back again and again if we lived here.

Great Atmosphere, wine and beer selection, and cheese plates - Below average service.

By Robert M |

Four of us recently visited for before dinner drinks and appetizers. Have been here at least a half dozen times in the past and have thoroughly enjoyed the place, but this was our first time in about a year. Continue to love the location, atmosphere, wine and beer selection, and cheese plates. We were quickly seated by very nice hostesses. Service thereafter was not good. After a 5 minute wait, our waiter, Kevin. brought us waters. We did not see him again for over 10 minutes. When he did return, he asked if we'd like anything other than water. Why yes, Kevin, that's why we came. The place was busy, but not overly so and there seemed to be plenty of staff working. Not sure why the waiter was so inattentive and spent so much time standing around with the hostesses and other staff. We'll be back, but hopefully we'll have another server.

Great place for quick snack - try the Sunday school menu

By OdenRulerofTheGods |

Stopped here for a quick snack based on a recommendation. Try the Sunday school menu. They pair wine/beer with some local food/cheese at real good prices. I understand the menu changes each week. Everything we had was on the money and the service was excellent.

Great place to eat "snacks" for lunch!

By DebMC123 |

I sat outside with an iced tea and had delicious bruschetta and a great fig/Gorgonzola/prosciutto snack, which together with fennel-roasted almonds made a perfect lunch for me. Lovely wait staff and a creative menu make this a place I'll return to often, and bring friends!

Delicious

By Stacy H |

Was looking for a wine and tapas bar for my birthday close to my hotel and this restaurant met all my requirements. We made reservations and were seated outside right away. They did not have a huge menu but had a lot of choices I and my vegetarian friend liked to share. The good was delicious and the prices were fair. Overall a very positive experience.

Perfect Place for Light Lunch...

By GiftedKid |

My daughter and I had lunch in this small and nice restaurant. Varied menu with light choices. We had the feta cheese and pesto bruschetta (the best we had), Italian cured meats and beet salads. The service was attentive and professional. We had a great time.

Lovely Food

By Tiffany A |

My family and I really enjoyed Tria. The white bean spread was my favourite and the Dr Fritz veer was delicious.

Don't forget to know

By Henry Howard |

Very intimate wine bar, wide selection of wines at a fair price and dishes with a very good mix of flavors. Great option

Happy to Try Tria!

By isabill |

My hubby and I were looking for a light dinner near our hotel and Tria popped up in our search. We made a reservation for indoor dining and were promptly seated at a two top. There were some special wines and cheese that evening and we ordered accordingly. The cheese came with a delightful fig (?) spread. I had a beet salad which was advertised with pepitas and there was no menu mention of onion. It came without pepitas but with a bunch of red onion. Had they been specified on the menu, I would have asked that they be left off. Nonetheless, the salad was very good. We also ordered the artichoke hummus which was yummy, and the grilled focaccia bread made it even better. Our Burrata bruschetta was very fresh tasting. The dining area is a bit on the dark side so a phone light might come in handy for reading, and while the background music was nice, it got a little loud sometimes. Our server was pleasant, as was the young man behind the bar. Tria is a lovely neighborhood eatery for diners looking for something light and fresh.

Very fine and extensive wine and beer card

By ManuelaIrm |

We had a very nice dinner there. They have very tasty snacks, Sandwiches and salads. The dishes are small and perfect with a glas (or two?) of wine. The wine and Beer menu is very selected from german, french, italian, spanish and American wineyards. The Service is very friendly and very oblinging. If you search for a very tasty Snack and good wine, maybe with a Friend or maybe a Date with your partner, it would be a perfect location for you in the middle of Philadelphia.

Yummmm!!!!!

By Jordan G |

I took my wife here on a Friday night. It's nice little place that offers mostly bar stool type seating. The service here was amazing! We had so many people helping with everything I was almost unsure who our waiter was. The food was amazing!!! The wife choices were amazing as well! Truffle toast, goat cheese w/ pesto bruschetta, chips with herb aioli, and everything else we ate was totally awesome. My wife and I both said next time we are in Philly we are going back for sure! We got an awesome seat next to double windows so we could see outside.

Interesting and delicious small plates, fine beer, wine and cheese

By shippinofftoboston |

Philadelphia has so many wonderful places to eat and drink these days. Tria offers both. The beer menu alone is intriguing, dividing offerings into "invigorating," "friendly," "profound," and "extreme." We started with bruschetta, two slices of crisp French bread on a plate to share. We loved the Apple Tree Goat Cheese with Basil Pesto. The Pistachio Ricotta with lavender honey was like having dessert first. Then we each enjoyed the smoked salmon salad, a fair-sized portion of delectable smoked salmon, baby spinach, feta and fennel. Next time I'd like to try the cheese menu. The place was full of young people, and despite the noise, it was comfortable to have a conversation.

Quaint wine bar with delicious small plates

By Christine M |

We went here while waiting to get into another restaurant in the area and I was impressed with how good all of the food was. The service was friendly and fast and a solid variety of small plates so its perfect to go here for appetizers or before a dinner.

Great cheese and wine!

By Cara H |

Great selection of cheese and wine! Staff makes great recommendations as well if you are not well-educated in the arts of pairing. Endless supply of bread!

Excellent service, excellent food, excellent atmosphere!

By Peni C |

There with 2 moms and 2 daughters. So much fun. Stopped in for pre-dinner wine and snacks, stayed for dinner and ate most of the menu. We loved every sip and every bite! Excellent waiter who was patient, answered all our questions, was very helpful. Highly recommend Tria to anyone in Philly.

One of my fave places in Phila!

By A M |

Anytime I take a day trip into Phila I always make a stop at Tria. Great wines/beer by the glass. Not your typical "bar food", everything is fresh and elegant. The service is amazing. The atmosphere is very relaxing; music but no TVs which is a plus in my book.

Excellent lunch spot

By jacquelinerose5 |

I know people usually think of this as a wine bar. Yes, they offer lots of wine by the glass. But I go there for lunch with friends and always have great salads.

Outstanding

By jake m |

Absolutely amazing, stopped in for cheese and wine before dinner was blown away by everything, great cheese and wine list knowledgeable and friendly bartenders and fair prices on everything a must stop in Philly

Wine and snacks, yes please!

By smep013 |

We stopped here for happy hour drinks and snacks and were able to sit outside to enjoy the weather, people watching and some amazing treats. The wine list is impressive - and there are plenty of small plates to try to whet your appetite before dinner. I do not know WHAT they do with the almonds, but get those! They are tasty. We had an excellent server who was very attentive to our needs. Three thumbs up for Tria!

Anyone who loves cheese, wine, or beer must come to Tria Cafe

By dcbird |

I was surprised by lots of wonderful little things about this small cafe. It's charming and cozy, and it has some amazing cheeses. You must get the cheese board with at least two different cheeses. The servers really know and care about the cheeses -- and the wines and beers, as well. We had some other "snacks" (small plates) as well - but through the outstanding part was the cheese selection. Only wish we'd had room for more.

Great food, attentive service

By Erika I |

Would highly recommend! We both ordered salads and had the truffle flat bread. All excellent. Service was attentive and friendly.

Great for business or friends

By buztop |

Artisanal dishes served here. Delicious salads, awesome cheeses, full selection of wines and beers. For about ten dollars, you get a nicely prepared sandwich panini or salad. Service is quick and delightful.

Always good!

By Rick H |

We enjoy stopping at Tria for a glass of wine or a bite to eat. The atmosphere is always inviting, the staff and patrons helpful and friendly. We particularly like the service, advice and good cheer Katrina brings. She is knowledgeable about wine selection and gives good advice about what menu items to select.

Cheese anyone?

By HippieFoodster |

Excellent selection of wines and cheese. The "Sunday School" on Sundays nights is a great occasion to discover delicious wines / cheese / beers for a very reasonable price. The sandwiches are also delicious, especially the salmon one (prepared with a salmon tartar recipe). Plus the location and service are top.

nice wines, great food, nice atmosphere

By RichiePerk |

This place was perfect for my wife and I. They have an extensive wine and beer list. They organize the wines by general category such as "funky, bold, luscious" etc. And we were really impressed. The also had an extensive cheese selection. The dishes are smaller sizes. They even have a snack size which has tiny bites. I ordered the Salad of Grilled Asparagus, Artichoke, White Beans, Tomato-Onion Relish and Pine Nuts, which was fantastic. My wife has the Arugula with Beets, Goat Cheese, Crushed Almonds, Red Onion and Balsamic Vinaigrette, which was also great. An energetic atmosphere, but not too noisy. The service was great.

Return visit with same outstanding results!

By 1francophile |

It was indeed a pleasure spending time at this location and also on 12th Street during my visit because of the unique approach of selecting and offering an interesting array of wines from all parts of the world! On a personal note, I was their distributor of fine wines for more than a decade and my relationship with ownership, management and staff was supportive and enjoyable, unmatched by any others during my time in PA. A copy of their wine and food menus are enclosed for your information. The atmosphere is so positive because of their professional and personable staff that you want to extend your time there and can’t to return. If you haven’t experienced Tria first hand, do so without further delay to understand what wine lovers have known for more than a decade- it’s simply the best! Very Highly Recommended!

Perfection

By Rikter |

Had the best salad I have ever eaten: smoked duck salad with pistachios, dried cherries, grana padano and spinach. They had one of my very favorite beers on tap: Fat Head Head Hunter's IPA. We had a lovely table on the sidewalk, in shade thanks to umbrellas. What made it the perfect lunch: excellent service. My husband's sandwich, albacore tuna, was delicious as well. Can't wait to be back!

Great selections of wines by the glass & small plates

By Patricia W |

Very attentive and professional service while seated at the bar even on a busy Friday night.. Mushroom bruschetta and roasted duck and spinach salad were extraordinary.

Wonderful rainy refuge.

By kevinwI2632NF |

We ducked in during an afternoon shower and found a truly warm and inviting place. My wife had the best coffee (Americano) in a long, long time. Great beer selection and a wonderful lunch. Service was spot on.

Wonderful

By Roselore |

We had a lovely pre-concert lunch at Tria. The menu is interesting and our food was delicious and well prepared. Our server was great. I was impressed that he replenished my water without my having to ask. That's a big deal for me.

Great way to end a long day

By beachpeach75 |

Got in earlier to the city from air travel. Was out getting some exercise with the wants of a drink later. The inside of this place was very busy but it was a Friday night. I was able to sit outside which I wanted since the weather was perfect. Ordered a glass of wine and one of the cheeses that the server recommended with my likes and dislikes. Wonderful and a beautiful presentation. Served with several slices of french bread and some chopped up vegetables. Planned to be a snack but made it into my dinner....popcorn, later. The service was very good, not sure if it was because she thought I was a regular or that I was a tourist......a little pricey...considering... but you are in the city and not down south. Just a nice evening with lots of people watching. I love Philadelphia. Not sure if this is a new place or something I just happened upon.

simple offering decent food & good wine selection

By Fabrice Vitali |

We just needed to eat a bite so we ran around the corner to try this little cafe . What a pleasant surprise ! They offer nice simple dishes, nice salads and a good wine selection . The service is casual, pleasant but professional ! Definitely worth trying if you want to a have casual meal .

Cute little Wine and Cheese restaurant

By Orangepants445 |

Staff are very knowledgeable about the cheese and will recommend both wine and cheeses. Enjoyed a wonderful fresh salad after the cheese. Staff very courteous and left us alone to enjoy. Excellent.

I love this place, wish it was in nyc

By ampay |

The food was really exceptional. The service was great, and the wine was good. I was surprised at how affordable it was.

Hip wine bars with outdoor seating.

By Nanums |

Multiple locations offer a great selection of wines and good service. Try something new. There was a Syrah Rose that we ordered. They have snacks and you can also get a casual dinner but we only do wine and snacks here. Trial Wash West is near the hospital so just be aware of when you get there. Getting a table outside is great but you need to be early. We got there at 5:00 on a Friday and it was crowded then empty at 6:30 when we left. No happy hour pricing but glass prices are a reasonable range. My fav location Sansom. Try the rosemary potato chips and almonds. Yummy.

Birthday weekend with the love of my life. Excellent drinks, good wine list. Delicious tapis plates. Quite with window table ov

By Jeffry D |

Excellent cocktails, good wine list and wonderful tapis. Sit in the window and watch the world go by. Wonderful birthday weekend stop

Wide variety of drinks

By dustythoughts |

We came here for drinks, and their wine list is fairly extensive and comes with detailed descriptions of each wine, which I love. The kitchen had already closed when we arrived, which is unfortunate - when people are drinking, it would be nice to at least have small snacks (like peanuts) available, especially at an upscale bar/restaurant. Otherwise, though, this establishment was very nice.

No so great

By Rob H |

There are positives to this place. The wine drinkable and the 3 bits of cheese on the board tasted very nice. The problem I have is the cost is eye wateringly expensive, the service is sleepy at best and the portion sizes on a par with one of Twiggy's mini skirts .. From a worldwide perspective Tria would struggle in most European cities to stay open. From a local perspective , it will continue to offer high priced mediocre food and people will stay pay..

nice selection of wines

By davide g |

Great spot to stop in for a glass of wine and some tapas. I usually get one of the bruschettas. The service is always friendly also.

wonderful

By bethany o |

Boyfriend and I had a lovely lunch here. The brie and truffled mushroom sandwich was the highlight of our Philadelphia dining experience. Friendly and attentive staff and so lovely to sit outside and people watch!

Great taste combinations and fresh ingredients

By aloritz |

Fantastic food, atmosphere and service at this restaurant. I ordered a fig salad with Parma ham and Gorgonzola, and it was so incredibly good. I also had a ricotta cheese bruschetta, which was so delicious as well. I would go here again and again!

Relaxing and fun!

By Otdeb |

We love cheese so it is fun to try all of the different cheeses on the menu. Long wine and beer list that makes pairing with the cheese a lot of fun. Their salads are delicious! The beet and goat cheese salad was so good.

Welcoming and comfortable wine/cheese/beer bar.

By JEGRH |

When we arrived we just wanted to have a couple of glasses of wine but the bar was packed (it was a Saturday night). The hostess graciously let us sit at a table in the back and our servers were attentive and helpful. We tried a few white wines, from a sauvignon blanc and a vouvray to a couple of Spanish wines I'd never tried. They were all excellent and served to us promptly. We had already had dinner so we didn't try any of the food on the menu but we enjoyed the cheeky descriptions of the cheeses (as well as the beers and wines). The Tria concept is interesting as it centered on fermentation (wine, beer, cheese). Everything on offer is grouped into categories (like bold, spicy, creamy, fruity, and so on) so even a novice can navigate the selections easily. There was not an ounce of pretension at any time from the hostess or the servers. Overall, a great experience.

Local Hangout

By Bphman |

This is a great place to hang out and have a glass of wine and small plates. It is small and gets quite crowded. This is right off Rittenhouse Square and very convenient for our needs. This is a family favorite for before dinner drinks.

High Quality, Diverse Food

By Levi N |

Tria is a average priced cafe that really pulls off the fancy vibe. Their food is cafe food but with sophistication. They offer a whole extensive list of beers (not all on draft) and wine options. You won't find the food items here anywhere else.

Loved the tapas style and organic wine options

By here&there |

Surprisingly large portions for food. Salads were fresh and filling. Nice ambiance. Very reasonable prices. Wish I lived near this place.

Cheese & wine & satisfaction

By Dunconni |

A last minute call to visit and delighted we made that decision. Delicious wine, nibbles and cheese selection. Perfect way to end the day.

Tria Cafe: Rittenhouse Square - Dining Delight!

By dabaker10 |

There are so many unique restaurants these days. Why not visit different places? The balance of interesting beverages and food anchored by warm, experienced, and efficient servers keeps drawing me back to Tria. Tria is much more than the wine bar/cafe many people categorize it as. Seating for perhaps thirty people and no reservations accepted could be a deterrent to certain diners. In spite of this there are appealing seating options. Several tables are outside for those warmer days. A few inside tables by windows provide people watching opportunities year round. Seating at the bar itself could be another great spot to head for. We chose to arrive close to the noon opening time. There was essentially no wait to be seated and we were not rushed through the meal. The listing of wine, beer, and soda is intriguing and considerate. The tempting beverages can be enjoyed individually or accompanied with items from the food menu. Food consists of snacks, small plate items, salads, cheese, and desserts. Don't worry. One can easily be satisfied with any specific item or combination from the menu and the servers are sincerely helpful with the decision making process including descriptions of ingredients, flavors, portion size, or beverage pairings. There was an element of education for me. The flavors and textures were remarkable and entertaining. The kitchen is creative. There was coordination between back and front. The relaxed servers take great pleasure in their diner's enjoyment. Their thorough knowledge and personal opinions were refreshing and complimented the efforts of the kitchen. The primary server on our most recent visit was Tsehaitu. With her strong familiarity of the menu, thoughtfulness, and charming personality she was an extraordinary and positive representative of the Tria Cafe. A delicious chocolate torte espresso custard dessert arrived with a lit candle to celebrate my birthday. I forgot mentioning the occasion but she had not. The variety of food and drink alone could make Tria ideal for after work, lunch, snacks and drinks before heading elsewhere, or you main meal. Tria is certainly appropriate for friends, colleagues, out of town visitors, special occasions, and dates. It was a highly pleasurable dining experience and a valuable asset to the Rittenouse Square community and Philadelphia.

Excellent Service and Wonderful Food

By TLZSD |

We sat at the bar for cocktails and salads. The bartender was extremely friendly and attentive and the food was delicious. Very nice atmosphere!

Great Sunday afternoon walk-in experience.

By kbisch |

Fantastic food and great recommendations. Great wine and beer selection, enjoyed trying the different apps and entrees.

Second time - good as the first!

By ManayunkMichelle |

Love this spot! The wine, the cheese, the beer, the salad... everything was on point. Even the surprise was superb. This was our second time here and we did not regret it!

Happy Hour Wine Stop!

By kimmysue42 |

Quaint little wine bar in the heart of Philly. Wine selection was unique and classy. Enjoyed a French white with wonderful flavors. Bartender was knowledgeable and friendly. I also enjoyed a yummy goat cheese spread with fresh bakery baguettes. Many food items on the menu looked yummy! Would come back when visiting again.

Nice Afternoon Snack

By hbrow022 |

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon to have a few appetizers & drinks. The bruschetta, cheese plate and of course wine are all recommended! We sat outside on the patio. The service was great and attentive.

Stumbled into an amazing meal (and beer)

By dknight818 |

I guess the best part of Center City is that there are many great places to eat and drink, so stumbling into quite possibly one of the best taprooms ever doesn't seem too far fetched. Enjoyed a meal and drinks at Tria after visiting the Mütter in February 2015 and was immediately enamored with the food AND the beer menu (I am extremely picky when it comes to beer especially so to randomly pick a place that has more than 2 beers I can legitimately enjoy is rare). The service was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere was comfortable and modern, the food was outstanding and the draft beers we tried were top notch. I would eat at this place every day if I had the option

Cool Wine Bar with Delicious small plates

By TEXDAK |

Love this cool Bar/eatery. Imaginative small plates and great wine selection. Service is friendly and fast. Start with one small plate and I promise you will order more. Great plates to share or enjoy alone. I've been two nights in a row because it was a perfect late night doing option and I love the poached Mission Figs. Don't miss them. DELICIOUS!

Excellent service and light food

By rickiboston |

Stopped in for a glass of wine and a light dinner of marinated olives and a salad. I requested no chesse on the salad and it came with cheese. The server immediately noticed it, whisked it away and it was replaced in just moments. Big surprise when the bill came and there was no charge for the salad. What unexpected service!

What’s the Hype ?

By GaryMcCoy |

Reading the reviews I figured I was in for a rare treat. The staff was super nice and friendly, but it seemed nobody had a task. Staff would show up at the table randomly and ask if you ordered or had no idea when you sat or what was up with anything. The food was ok. I’ll probably not come back as there so many other places to explore.

Small plates

By Therese A |

Went here with my daughter - at first it was too crowded so we left and went for a walk - came back and the hostess remembered us and had a table waiting - food was good, a bit expensive for what you get but thats Philly prices. Overall good impression

Great little restaurant

By Corinna49 |

I had lunch here twice and both times I found the meals enjoyable and the service excellent. Once I had a spinach salad with apples and walnuts and another time a turkey sandwich with vegetables.

Amazing!!!

By Monica D |

I would 100% recommend eating at Tria. The food is high quality, delicious, and cheap. The restaurant is a cute environment with amazing service and a kind staff. Favorite restaurant in Philly by far!

Neighborhood cafe, Great food

By WaterBaby56 |

This small cafe has a great wine list, interesting cheeses and inventive appetizers. We shared the Gouda and beet appetizer, it was divine. Also shared the cavatelli and another pasta "small plate", they were both good sized portions. Food was served hot ( pet peeve of mine, I dislike warm food), fresh, bursting with flavors. Service was very attentive and professional. Very small venue but definitely something we would go back to.

Great Wine and appetizer pairings.

By TravelFaster |

Stopped by for afternoon wine and cheese. Excellent on both accounts and the service was fantastic. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Great cheeses and atmosphere

By MelbourneSeashell |

This is a cute small bar and restaurant that gets quite busy. I particularly liked the bruschetta with brie and marinate dried cherries, delicious and inexpensive. Lots of wine and drinks options and a small menu

Great Place

By Robyn S |

My sister and I were having a girls weekend in Rittenhouse Square and we stopped here. It was a perfect place to have a pre dinner glass of wine and cheese. The ambiance is very warm and quaint. The place is not too big so it’s cozy. The cheese selection is fabulous. It has a very warm and friendly vibe.

A Winning Formula

By 1francophile |

Visited their new Fitler Square location on a Sunday and was very impressed with how well they handled a crowded restaurant without neglecting their patrons. The atmosphere is lively, fun and welcoming. On Sunday there is a special called Sunday School where a wine, beer and a cheese selection is half price for the first order. Then, there is an array of unique quality wines and beers by the glass. The reds are served cool, the correct way to appreciate the flavors unlike some who serve Reds at room temperature, where in the U.S. at 74 degrees is too warm. There are so many winning food offerings from a delicious bean dip appetizer to our tasty asparagus salad and the grilled octopus. The service is friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The smiles everywhere was an indication that Tria makes us happy. Let's all get happy and go to Tria! Very Highly Recommended!

Loved this place!

By MagsATL |

Visiting museums in the a.m.., and Magic Garden. Decided to have late lunch. Found Tria on Google/restaurants near me. Knowing nothing about it, walked over to check it out. GREAT FIND!!! Extremely friendly and welcoming staff. The small plates were delicious. Sat upstairs and it was nice and quiet during 'off hours'. They had outdoor seating, but we chose indoor due to hot day. Our lunch: fennel roasted almonds, goat cheese bruschetta, smoked salmon salad, fig & gorgonzola w/parma salad. Everything was delicious. Would have come back for another meal if we were staying in town longer.

Elegant, attentive and delicious

By Extraordinary301440 |

The bartender came and asked us about drinks. He really knew all the ingredients and offered to make things just the way we wanted. And he did. The Old-fashioned in a lovely coupe glass and the Manhattan with the ice type I wanted. Delicious drinks. The cheese platter was substantial and elegant. They asked about allergies and one of our people was gluten intolerant. They brought a good amount of toasted non-gluten bread. An attention to detail and customers’ needs you don’t usually see.

Excellent service and food

By Nancy G |

We came here on a Saturday for lunch. First of all we chose two wines from the “smooth” list which were both great. For starters we had the crab stuffed peppers and mushroom truffle bruschetta. Both were amazing. We also shared a cheese from Bergamo, Italy and it was superb.

Great cheese and great wine

My wife and I stepped in by mistake and we definitely cannot regret it. We had a pleasant surprise. We tried the bruschetta of mushrooms and cheese with truffle oil and another one of ricotta cheese and lavender honey with pistachios. Delicious! We tried a white Austrian wine and a beautiful Uruguayan red. And ended with a Sauternes.

Nice selection of wine and beer. Great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Food was to die for. I had a beat salad that was excellent.

Nice and light evening meal

Nice and light evening meal. Food interesting and good quality. Wine a little expensive. Staff attentive but not overly intrusive. Worth another visit.

Great cheese and wine

I always enjoy Tria. I think it's one of Philly's best wine bars. Tonight at happy hour, I had a delicious rose wine - the perfect way to relax at the end of a long, hot Summer day. It was accompanied by the brie and cherry brushetta. Both were excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive. I really appreciate their extensive beer and wine lists - great selection. The only downside was that it was really crowded and loud inside. That meant that we had to sit outside, where it was very hot and we got street traffic. But we chose to stay outside, so I suppose it was worth it! On the whole, a very good experience. I would highly recommend any of Tria's locations.

Happy Accident

I was walking Philadelphia looking for a glass of wine and lunch. A Summer Storm kept threatening to start, but I opted to sit on the sidewalk (the inside was a bit too noisy for me). A delicious Spanish Rose & a sandwich made my afternoon. The staff kindly moved all patrons inside when the threat of weather become clear. Definitely worth a stop!

Delicious saladas and beers

We went to Tria cafe because we wanted to try some different beers that they have. We ask for 4 different saladas and all of them were really tasty. There was a great variety of beers, for all tastes. All these for a very affordable price. It is a simple and small place, with a very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I highly recommend the restaurant .

not worth the hype! or the price!

I thought I had already left this review a few days ago, but I might not have hitten the submit button since I can’t seem to find it. I think it’s overrated and if you go to the “average” reviews of Tripadvisor, I agree with most of the complaints laid out there. My main comments would be: • the space is small and narrow, the tables are very tight and close to each other. They have done a good job with the lighting but that’s pretty much it. • It’s quite noisy (actually VERY noisy in the first section of tables and we asked to be moved to the bar). • The food is quite unremarkable, especially the “smalls”. For e.g. we ordered the chips with alioli and it was literally chips from any snack bag of the supermarket. The bruschetta and the gorgonzola figs were so-so, but nothing special. The charcuterie board was decent but $22 for just cold cuts (no cheese). • The service is quite random, they really don’t have a clear role (one person moved us to another table, 3 different people served the wine in different instances, etc). • And you have a 20% added tip to your tab regardless of your thoughts on the place. Total with no added tip was 150$ for something that didn’t really feel like dinner… • The only good thing was the wine selection; we had a great 2019 Napa Valley cabernet but paid 15$ the glass (the bottle retails for 18$). But the worse was when one of the waiters/bar person took away one of our wine glass that was not completely finished (can’t tell how much was left, but enough for one or two more sips). We looked so puzzled that he came back with a clean glass and pored what --I guess-- he calculated was what was left in the glass he had removed from the table… I know we both are from Europe, but I can assure you that any place in Barcelona, Dublin or Vienna would they would have filled both diners’ glass on the house. Client first, right? That for sure. You judge!

Great bar vibe

Stopped here for post-Valentine's brunch dessert and drinks. The beer list was outstanding as we perused the special menu and took a seat at the bar. Arriving around 12:30pm on a holiday Saturday and we had no problem whatsoever finding a seat. By the time we left at about 1:15, every seat was full. With the beers, we split the no-bake chocolate dessert and it was delicious. Above average for sure and a nice (read = appropriate) serving size. Overall, this was a great spur-of-the-moment stop.

May Be a Draw for Wine Lovers, But Generally Just OK

Ever feel like a real drink? Or a real meal? Tria is not for you...The wines are generally OK, and the small plates as well, but the several TRIA locations are really not ideal options for non-hipsters who would occasionally enjoy a real drink and a real meal....

Swanky but good beer

By Michele S |

Good beer selection— have iPads to view details about each beer which was very cool. Had a pizza boy draft. Very good. Kind of a swanky bar (the kind you might expect to serve small plates—we just had drinks so we’re not sure)
