Don’t bother ordering online. They are unable to fulfill your order despite a long wait from an online order. I am not sure this situation is worth the wait or price.

Holy he!! is this place is insanely delicious. While in town for my bday we stopped in one night for dinner and I can honestly say this was one of the best pizzas I've ever had in 40 years - top 5. We were supposed to come back a 2nd time but were caught up in traffic so we couldn't make it, still bummed. Perfectly cooked, great flavor combo and the waiter was out of this world. Stellar cocktails and very kid friendly too. My kids loved their mac & cheese pizza (which was also out of this world).

Hip new restaurant in North Park that pays tribute to all the best pizzas through the U.S. Just opened in July and they make everything in house - from the sausage, to the ricotta, to the crust. Oh, the crust - perfect balance of chew on the edges, but crisp and firm on the base. The appetizer board allows for personal combinations of grilled veg with charcuterie such as ghost pepper salami and spanish styled chorizo and a variety of cheeses. Great way to start off a meal. You can make your own pizzas, but I suggest trying one of the "tribute" pizzas - they are really special. The ambience is great and the food is even better. Go try!

Wow, I don't know how to explain my love for the food at this place. I can tell you that the last time we came we ordered the focaccia with burrito and nduja. I was so blown away that when I got home i began googling recipes desperately trying to recreate what I had. Needless to say I failed, and my only option now is to make the 3 hour drive back to Tribute where I will once again order and eat the very best pizza and focaccia ever. Please Tribute, please, open another location in Ventura County. You are amazing.

The vibe, the people, and customer service was great. The food was delicious and brought out in a timely manner. I am coming back!

I only visited once with my daughter and son in law who love this place. The pizza we order (the Russian Interference and Brooklyn's Best) was tasty but not my idea of pizza. It was more like a very thin focaccia. The Patatas Bravas was good. If I go again I will try one of there more traditional pizzas. I raised my rating from average to very good for the most outstanding feature of this restaurant, the entertainment from watching the chefs preparing the pizza dough. Throwing each pizza dough several times, high into the air, kept me guessing when and if it would land on someone's head.

This is an awesome place. Great decor and an awesome menu. Tried the panzanella salad with fresh melon, cukes, mint and it was great. Pizza was fantastic, the crust was a cross of crunch and chewy goodness. House made soft serve was the perfect dessert. I mean how could you go wrong with great pizza and ice cream?? Sat at the counter and watched chefs Matt and Kurt & their team create yummy goodness. Can't wait to go back and try more.

My fiancée and I had, as always, a great time at Tribute two weeks ago. Their specials (which are usually posted on their Instagram a couple of days ahead of time) are always incredibly creative and taste amazing. You always get the sense that everyone on staff seems to genuinely enjoy their jobs and their bartenders rock. Pro tip: order the “omakase” and make a reservation if you are heading there after 5pm (or risk waiting outside for quite a bit).

When first walking through the door, we experienced a high noise level even though the restaurant was not crowded. We were immediately seated at a reserved table, and then several different waited on us, all appearing to be rushed. While the menu had several interesting sounding pizzas, the food was average. The beer list, however, was adequate. I will give the restaurant another go to see if it were an unusual night when we dined there.

What a great reinvention of the old post office in North Park, yes the blue mailboxes are still outside the building. I came in at 5pm on a Thursday evening and got one of the seats at the small bar to start with a Happy Hour beer. Shortly the rest of my group arrived and we got a table for the 9 of us. The happy hour deals are amazing up to 6pm and we quickly ordered 2 of the biancoverde (white) and 2 margherita (red) pizzas which were $7 each making them 1/2 price. Also got the delicious brussel sprouts and warm marinated olives. Bottles of wine seemed to be the preferred by most but I stayed with the beer. The service was so welcoming, friendly and attentive. The space is like a big hall with lofty ceilings and light filled. There's an open exhibition style kitchen to watch the pizzas tossed high. I liked the unique flavor of the biancoverde as I prefer white pizza and also liked the thin crust. I watched some amazing looking charcuterie boards pass by so maybe next time for that. Most of the table shared some of the desserts too as we were celebrating a birthday. Overall it was a very impressive pizza evening.

Tribute now serves brunch on the weekends from 11am - 2pm. Come in for some decadent french toast made with their homemade focaccia soaked in citrus, vanilla and grand marnier. Their breakfast calzone is the perfect combination of scrambled eggs, sausage, burrata and arugula stuffed inside a crispy, chewy calzone pocket. If you're looking for vegetarian - then there's a frittata with butternut squash, spinach, pine nuts that comes with roasted potatoes. It's all good and the space is so open, light and relaxing - really nice for a weekend treat.

Arrived there after closing and we're greeted by Matt. He told us to come back and ask for him, then 3 steps later he told us to come in and he would make a pie for us. Being a pizza snob and a New Yorker, it was excellent!! I will.be back and spread the word.

Fun neighborhood restaurant sending out inventive dishes from the kitchen. Big fans of the kale salad with giant shreds of Parmesan cheese and zippy peppers. Not sure what to expect with the you knew this was coming pizza and it’s everything bagel crust. Turns out it was great …and the garlic mushrooms add on a wise choice. It’s easy to tell the team loves their work and those flavorful dishes that arrive at your table. Well done!

We went to Tribute Pizza two months since my last review. Their operation is much smoother than when they first openned. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food came pretty quickly. I do recommend their daily lemonade which changes flavour. I think the Molto Authentico is our favourite pizza. Of course their focaccia is fantastic and its hard not to fill up on it before the pizza comes.Definitely my favourite pizza place in town.

Took 4 visiting family friends to Tribute. Pizza continues to be delicious and came to the table more quickly than our last visit. Service was poor and unfriendly. Can't believe they charge $1.00 for an iced tea refill! Setting sun makes many of the tables uncomfortable - large windows need shades of some sort.

I can't say I am a big pizza guy. But I am a foodie! I know quality when I see it and taste it! Tribune Pizza, hands down, BEST PIZZA I've ever had in America! Simple as that

It’s in the old post office, very cool reuse of the space. Went for pizza, also has a Caesar salad. The Caesar was avant-garde, garlicky crouton, grilled baby romaine, tasty but too much dressing. We got a cheese and margarita pizzas. The cheese was kinda salty, the margarita was awesome. We also ate the deep fried mozzarella balls, they were yummy . Low point for me was drinks, only Mexican real coke and weird cherry soda.

Tribute pizza has the industrial look typical of modern trendy restaurants. Pizza is not the usual food served at such restaurants, but the pizza at Tribute is excellent. Lots of cheese and toppings, and a soft medium-thick crust. Tribute does have the craft cocktails typical of trendy restaurants, and I really wanted to try a boozy shake, but the smallest pizza is 8 pieces; more than I should have eaten by myself, and you won't want a shake after filling up on a few of these slices.

My family and I have spent many, many family dinner nights at pizza restaurants all over San Diego County. We are constantly looking for the very best pizza. Tonight we may have found it! Located in a building that used to be a US Post Office, Tribute Pizza has tables large enough for 20 people, and small tables perfect for date night. The decor is spare, a tad hipster-ish, and quite comfortable. The pizza is hand-tossed and cooked in a woodfired oven. The Brooklyn’s Best pizza is definitely my favorite of any I’ve ever had in the San Diego area. Sesame seed crust, ricotta, and beautifully caramelized onions. We had three different types of pizza – the Kevin McAllister (which is basically a lovely cheese pizza), the traditional combo, and Brooklyn’s Best. Each one was delicious! We also tried the fried mozzarella balls, cooked to perfection and super tasty. And the olives - five different kinds of olives served warm. If you are looking for the perfect pizza give this place a try!

Recently moved to North Park, my family and I wanted to grab some pizza at a decent looking sit down place. We found Tribute on google maps and from the pictures and reviews we decided to check it out. Only a few short blocks from our house we arrived. The building is impressive. Very neat look and feel. The woman at the front was so nice and helpful(I wish I remembered her name). We were able to order if ready at the front or put in our drinks and wait for a server after finding seats if we needed more time. We put our drink order and and my son's pizza. After finding a place to sit(only dislike of the place felt awkward wandering looking around for the most child appropriate seating) we were brought out drinks promptly. Ordered our food, then my sons pizza came out.. It wasn't how we ordered it but they were more than happy to try again and got it spot on! Our food was great and the staff was really cool. My son really enjoyed watching the pizza chefs spin the dough in the air. Oh and cant forget the great beer choices! We will be back.

This is a fairly new pizza restaurant that is well worth a drive from anywhere in SD county. The ambiance is charming, the service superb but most important, the food delicious!! The chef uses both routine and unusual ingredients to make his salads, small plates and pizzas delicious. One can personalize the meat, cheese and vegetable boards. We had two and they were delicious!! This will definitely become my new go to pizza place to go to with friends!!

Was down for the Labor Day weekend....was watching the local news and saw the interview of the owner and mom....too fun. We decided to try after spending the day at Sea World. Wonderful pizza...all hand done and the dessert of vanilla ice cream with olive oil and sea salt was a special treat....be sure to get.

Almost 40 minutes for order to arrive and only 6 tables with customers. Pizza was soggy and tough crust

Great pizza, quality ingredients - super fresh flavors! Friendly, helpful staff! I brought a gaggle of girls here after exploring the science center and we all left with happy!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Everything about our meal was pure happiness. Started off with the Strawberry fields forever which was a perfect mixed green salad with a light balsamic dressing and fresh strawberries. The Brussels sprouts were charred perfection and pure yumminess. The focaccia bread is something that is not to be missed - seriously outstanding. Did the weekly pizza, which was a pretzel crust pizza with pickled jalapeños and pepperoni on top. Also got the margarita pizza and both were moan worthy. Don't miss out on the house ranch to polish off the crust.

We ave eaten dinner here twice in the last month, the only two times we have been here. The first time was perfect, the last time the service fell off a bit. Great Happy Hour, great staff. We love to sit at the bar and watch the action in the open kitchen

Tribute Pizza is a new pizza restaurant in the trendy North Park area. It is located inside the old post office so it has great high ceilings. They have a giant wood fire oven in the middle for their pizza and other cooked dishes. They have good appertizer and I particularly like their focaccia with buratta and also their caeser salad. Of course their pizza are fantastic with a thin crust. They also have a great selection of local craft beer on tap. I would definitely go back again and probably will invite my friends and co-worker to try it out.

What a great concept - an all-star line-up of the best pizzas that pizza-connoisseur Matt has tasted and learned to make. While Tribute has traditional tasting pizzas, most have something special about them - whether it is the homemade ricotta or the spicy honey. Best of all the pizza dough is UNBEATABLE - tasty, chewy and crispy. The ambience is cool/hip - located in a modernized post office!

The first we sat at the bar and waited on by Steven. The service and the pizzas we ordered were excellent.

Loved the clever "tribute" pizzas. Great service, amazing food, exceptional beer choices. We'll be back.

Came on a Friday evening at 7, had a 25 minute wait but it was well worth it. Had the Arrabeddia pizza ($18) with brussels sprouts ($10) and omg, they were both delicious! Staff was friendly, space was trendy and comfortable and the food speaks for itself. Go here.

We celebrated a special occasion here and had an amazing experience. We didn’t make reservations but were fortunate enough to walk in, be greeted warmly and be told they had a table available immediately. Our main server tonight was Alex with some assists by Crystal. Both were super attentive and kind throughout the dinner. Let me preface that we ordered way too much food. Granted neither of us had eaten today but we still overdid it on the ordering front. We started with the Brussels sprouts appetizer adding bacon and we also ordered the Garlic Cheese Focaccia. Brussels appetizer was quite large and tasted delicious. Personal note - I would probably order without the bacon next time. It would have been fine without it and I like my bacon a bit more on the crispy side. The focaccia was soft and tasty and was interesting with the olive oil taste. We then ordered two pizzas, Dirty Dancin ordered Grandma’s Style and Lady Diavola ordered the original style. Dirty Dancin was the clear winner - and my preference in pizza style would also be Grandma’s Style for future visits. Nothing was wrong with Lady Diavola but it was pretty basic and much softer and thinner than the Grandma’s Style. Dirty Dancin (or Patrick Swayze as some apparently call it ) was delectable. I was not sure I was going to like the Harissa Ranch on top but this pizza is a flavor bomb that will make your taste buds sing. We ended up finishing that pizza and taking most of the Diavola home. Drinks were tasty but pricey. Plenty of alcohol in mixed drink. Since we were celebrating a special occasion Alex brought over a complimentary dessert of soft serve ice cream with olive oil and sea salt over it. That was so incredibly kind and delicious. I would highly recommend requesting Alex or Crystal as your server if you have the opportunity. Both were excellent servers.

Went there on a Sunday evening, just about full 2 kids, 2 adults, table for 4 please! You order drinks at hostess area, head to a table for waiter service Appetizers incl bread meat and cheese (deconstructed pizza) and salads Individual pizzas - 13" - crusts vary and you can add toppings Beer, wine and soda's for beverages Concrete floor and open space makes it loud, which was great with our kids We had a kids pizza (cheese and very good), caesar salad and a margarita pizza add prosciutto Food came out way late (45 minutes) due to common restaurant errors - we asked for some bread to keep us from killing our children which was delicious (the bread, we did NOT eat the kids...yet) - waiter apologized for the slow service, but no one really seemed to care :-( The caesar salad is delicious, but could use more romaine to make the value better ($11 - without adding stuff to it) The margarita pizza was good, nice thin crust, good ingredients, filled me up even with the wife taking a slice The pizza is wood fired, don't know if I would call it Neapolitan style but it was thin in the middle, with a crust about the size of my thumb, not crunchy but an excellent flavor Parking is street Forgot to check if there is Wi-Fi Some outdoor tables, but not a patio

Enjoyed sharing a pizza here for dinner - very friendly staff, and not too busy even though it was a Friday night.

My friends and I stumbled upon this place which is housed in a converted US Post Office. I took a chance on an odd sounding dish called eggy danky. I'm so glad I did. The orange yolked, organic free range poached eggs were perfectly done, a sure sign the chef knows what they're doing. My friends ordered pizzas, all of which were delicious with crispy crusts made from a tasty dough, also the sign of a good chef. The service was a good as the food. The dueling pie spinners behind the counter made for an entertaining bonus.

Tribute Pizza is a new restaurant in the trendy North Park area. It is located inside the old North Park post office. The premise is very open with incredibly high ceiling. They have a gigantic wood fired pizza oven that is the centre piece of the kitchen. Their pizza is amazing with a great thin crust. I love their focaccia with burrata or with n'duja. I also like their "betrayal of casesar by the coward brutus" salad. They also have a large selection of microbrew beers on tap. I would definitely go there again for some good pizza

Based in a reclaimed US Post Office in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego and what they deliver is better than the mail! More than a mere pizza place the menu has now expanded to include some wonderful breakfast dishes. Some still in the experimental phase and intriguing! So we started with a great atmosphere, funky location, a gracious and very accommodating staff and of course the food. We had a caesar salad and a margarita pizza thin crust well done. Talk about surprise and Delight the Caesar salad came out basically an entire head of Romaine quartered lengthwise grilled beautifully, just enough to give it that flavor with a delightful dressing that was spicy tart and delivered an unexpected reward. As for the pizza well it disappeared, quickly! Beautifully fired as requested. I haven't even mentioned the bar menu which is also delivered a few gems. An unintended consequence of a Saturday morning meander. We really enjoyed this place and the people that look after us so nicely.

This place was a letdown. Half it its appeal is watching them make the pizza. The other half is the name of the pies. Our mushroom pizza, Whitestone I believe was the name had literally no flavor. The Kevin was decent but twas just a plain cheese pizza. Half an hour wait which followed waiting 15 min for a table because the place is so crowded. The garlic bread was huge to say the least. To their credit I’ve heard that transplanted from the Midwest or east coast have such great pizza that the west coast will always fail in comparison

Tribute Pizza has made the list for one of my favorite pizza places here in SD! Located in North Park so expect to take time to look for street parking. Our party of 6 made a reservation for a Friday night for a friend’s birthday and the place looked pretty busy— so definitely make a reservation. The place itself is big with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Our server Corrine was attentive and personable, and food came out fairly quickly. Food: -Tie Dye Pie ($24 for 9x13 rectangle): 6 slices, ordered Grandma style which is baked in a sheet pan with a thicker crust. Loved the flavoring on this one and double saucy— had to eat with knife and fork with this one. -Mushroom Whitestone 2.0 ($22 for 13in neo-Neapolitan): 8 slices for this style, crunchier crust. This is probably going to be one of my go-tos here! -Pepperoni Lovers ($22 for 13in neo-Neapolitan style): had 8 slices, perfect to share. I unfortunately didn’t get to try this but my friends liked it. -Szechuan Spicy Noodles ($22): I was surprised at how tasty and good this dish was, considering it’s served at a pizza joint. Served with chopsticks and fortune cookies. Must try! -Roasted Garlic Brussels Sprouts ($13): perfect to share. *Tip* Request to have garlic confit and chili crisp as a side to put on your pizzas! So good! -Tiramisu cake: served for our friend’s birthday and it was yummy. Overall: I understand now why people say this is one of their favorite places for pizza. There are sooo many other options that I’d love to try out next time. Will definitely come back!

We went during the San Diego restaurant week and we got an amazing diner. So much good food for such a good price, I couldn't believe it. The place is very nice and the staff is doing a great job. Absolutely nothing bad to say, all tables were taken and everybody seemed to have a great time

Tribute is now known for its awesome pizzas, but the new brunch is fantastic, too. The same care that goes into preparing the unique pizzas goes into the brunch dishes. Well worth the visit, especially in the cool post office setting. Great for families.

Our friends brought us to this restaurant during our trip to San Diego and it was probably one of our best experiences of the trip. Delicious food. Loved the grilled ceasar salad. Our kids loved the pizza. More than reasonable price. Great friendly service. There is a bit of a wait if you do not have a reservation but it is worth it.

LOVE the space! Sometimes you just want to be out for dinner in a space with friends and family that is uplifting, joyful, and fun! The waitstaff makes that happen; the jubilant owner makes you love this place. People matter. No matter how great the food, it's the vibe and the soul that makes for deeper loyalty--Tribute has just that!! Oh!!! And enjoy the food!!! We got to sit at the table with the fresh oregano plant to crunch on our pizzas! Ingenious fresh approach!! Loved that!!

Best pizza I have had in San Diego! Crust is amazing. I had the weekly special, cacio e pepe pizza andit was wonderful. Tasted just like cacio e pepe pasta. The green bean appetizer is amazing. As is the fresh focaccio with various dipping sauces. Nice wine list, good choice of beer and Mexican coke. Already planning my next trip there.

If you’re visiting San Diego for the first time in a while--maybe a Boston Red Sox fan driving by Hall of Famer Ted Williams old house down the street-- I’ve got a dining tip for you. If you are a local like me you’ve probalby been to this spot on earth, the North Park Post Office, many times—but the space was vacated and rebuilt as Legacy Pizza. You won’t recognize the place as it has been completely been redone and has a wonderful vibe from the moment you see it! Matthew and Kurt have put together a first class restaurant in the heart of one of San Diego’s newest hip neighborhoods. I give it my stamp of approval! Matthew was tossing the pizza dough high last night, fairly close to the 14 foot ceiling. I am including an image of the dough coming back down—but this restaurant is on the way up. Local foodies know Matthew from his cutting edge menu at his food trucks and various pop-up locations around town the past several years. His menu is simple, finely crafted, and the execution of each item we tried was beautiful and delicious! We enjoyed the caprese salad, Caesar salad, an upticked margherita pizza, tiramisu and ice cream. The service was fast. We found parking on the street in front and felt lucky. You can call the restaurant and they may direct you to several Legacy Only parking places. What fun it is to have the greeter take your drink order—and then you get seated. Nice local craft beer and wine selection. Somebody has their priorities right!

So, look. Here's the thing. If you're looking for 'traditional pizza' (pepperoni, all the meats, that kind of thing), Tribute Pizza may not be for you. In fact, you may not even come in the door if you read the menu outside. I promise if you fall for all that - if you fail to step outside your normal traditional pizza comfort zone - you will be missing out on something pretty dang good! First of all, you'll have missed out on the spectacular building. Tribute Pizza is located in the old North Park Post Office. They re-used the space perfectly - bright and airy, with a loft-industrial-lite kind of feel. My 88 year old step mother, who also happens to be a life long North Park resident, is still a bit raw about the post office's closing. But, man, they could have torn the awesome building down. And they didn't. Score 1 for Tribute Pizza. Now the pizza. I'm a traditional pizza person. I don't like figs, arugula or artichoke hearts polluting my pizza. If you're like me, read down to the bottom of the menu and get either the fennel infused sausage or the pepperoni. Both would be freaking ideal (we did two pizzas each with one topping). Score 2 for creative offerings and Score 3 for placating the sissies like me. Nicely done, Tribute Pizza. The only issue I have is that there was some confusion in my party as to how one places an order. There appeared to be servers but other diners paid at a counter and carried a number to their table. Still don't know which is right. Because my group was pretty far from the normal hipster, millennial crowd, a server helped us. He was only a teeny-bit condescending. Oops, Tribute Pizza. Nonetheless... We all agreed we would go back. Though my family might be more inclined to carry-out in the future. The whole having to drive farther to a post office because the old post office is now a pizza place thing... But my step-mom loved the pizza regardless!

Tribute has a separate vegan menu which is excellent. My son and I got to sit at the counter and watch all the expert prep. Since he’s vegan we went with the SuperVegan III pizza with beet purée, almond and hazelnut ricotta and more. The crust was perfect and the sweetness of the beet pizza sauce was a great counterbalance with the savory olives and onions. We started with the market Wood Roasted vegetable instead of a salad. That was a great choice. The portions were large and everything, including the local beers, was delicious. Service was friendly and expert, and the manager even came over to speak with us about other menu options. It was so great my son went back with his buddies for his birthday celebration. His friends are not vegan, and the dual menu was a big help In every one enjoying the meal. If you are vegan, I think you will love Tribute’s food. Their menu says ‘ tribute to making real vegan food that’s not an afterthought.’ They have succeeded. If you are not vegan, just go for their other menu and the fun, hip vibe. I live in Northern CA and wish we had such a place here.

Had brunch here with the family last weekend - what a great place. Pizza was fantastic. Crust was thin with a thick chewy crust/edge with a great taste (I think they import the flour from Italy?). And the toppings are outstanding - gourmet but not pretentious. The decor and vibe are great - hip and casual, young and old. Definitely worthy of multiple visits (which I have done).

Since 1951, a modest single-story building at the corner of North Park Way and Grim St. in San Diego's North Park neighborhood has housed the post office for ZIP 92104. Until a few years ago, that is, when the USPS closed the post office and moved its functions to an ugly warehouse in Mission Valley. Keeping the exterior in tact--including the North Park Post Office signage--Tribute Pizza has turned the building into an attractive, spacious contemporary restaurant that features a wide variety of pizzas and some typical Italian entrees. My pizza featured caramelized onions, figs and white cheese, a happy combination, on a thin crust that was still sufficient to support the toppings. The service was friendly but spotty.
Good pizza, good salad and good beer
Tribute Pizza is located in the old North Park post office. So the building is large and very open. It is brightly lite and good for families. The center is a large wood fire oven where they cook the delicious pizza. They have some interesting salads and I like their caeser salad. Molto authentico is a great meat pizza. They also serve breakfast pizza on the weekends. Definitely going back again
